- 0:23Simpson, a twice -divorced American social aide.
- 0:26creating a constitutional and emotional moment
- 0:30for the monarchy. His decision transformed the
- 0:33crown by placing personal choice and public duty
- 0:37intention and led to a renewed emphasis on stability
- 0:41and continuity in royal succession. So now you
- 0:45know. And now, it's time for the weather report.

- 2:54Sunny mornings send you. In local news, more
- 3:00than 130 students at Roberts Elementary School
- 3:03in Medford were out Wednesday amid a suspected
- 3:07norovirus outbreak, according to Medford Public
- 3:10Schools. The school will be closed Thursday due
- 3:13to the high volume of stomach illness cases reported.
- 3:17as stated in a letter to families. The district
- 3:20consulted with the Medford Board of Health and
- 3:23the Massachusetts Department of Public Health,
- 3:26noting that norovirus spreads quickly and is
- 3:28very contagious. Symptoms, including vomiting,
- 3:33typically come on suddenly. If experiencing symptoms,
- 3:37the Board of Health recommends waiting 24 hours
- 3:40after vomiting before returning to school. A
- 3:44deep clean will be conducted at Roberts Elementary
- 3:46School Thursday. Now onto sports. Why did the
- 3:56Colts gamble on Philip Rivers to save their season?
- 4:00He can still sling it. On December 9, 2025, the
- 4:05text message rolled in while Rivers was shaking
- 4:07off rust. If this report is true, then I'm all
- 4:11in, Frank Drake wrote. Rivers considered two
- 4:15options, returning to the 8 -5 Indianapolis Colts
- 4:19or heading home to Alabama. In a stunning unretirement,
- 4:24Rivers is back in the NFL five years later, likely
- 4:27the Colts' best hope to avoid a late -season
- 4:29collapse. General Manager Chris Ballard knows
- 4:33this gamble could define the season. It's a bold
- 4:36move to sign a 44 -year -old quarterback. And
- 4:41tonight, on Thursday Night Football, Kirk Cousins
- 4:44and the Falcons aimed to play spoiler against
- 4:47Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers. The Atlanta
- 4:50Falcons, with a record of four wins and nine
- 4:53losses, visit the Buccaneers, who have seven
- 4:56wins and six losses. The Buccaneers were on track
- 5:00for a fifth straight division title, but have
- 5:02lost three consecutive games. Falcons coach Raheem
- 5:07Morris stated, you never want to be in this spot,
- 5:10referring to playoff elimination. Mayfield emphasized
- 5:14the importance of expecting their best from the
- 5:16Falcons, knowing they aimed to ruin the Buccaneers'
- 5:19playoff chances. Kickoff is at 8 .15 Eastern
- 5:23on Prime Video. In local sports, the Boston Red
- 5:29Sox are set to leave majorly baseball's winter
- 5:31meetings without a proven slugger like Pete Alonso
- 5:35or Kyle Schorber. However, as Craig Breslow and
- 5:39his staff look to regroup, Could Boston pivot
- 5:42back to adding another proven arm in their rotation
- 5:44via trade? According to Ken Rosenthal and Will
- 5:48Salmon of The Athletic, the Red Sox are one of
- 5:51the teams in on Brewers ace Freddie Peralta,
- 5:54who could be available this offseason. Peralta,
- 5:5829, is coming off of a 2 ,025 season where he
- 6:02went 17 wins and 6 losses with a 2 .70 earned
- 6:06run average. Adding a two -time All -Star like
- 6:11Peralta would be a major lift for the Red Sox.
- 6:16In top news, the Federal Reserve cut interest
- 6:19rates for the third time this year, and this
- 6:22quarter -point reduction might not lead to lower
- 6:25mortgage or car loan rates immediately. Although
- 6:29Fed cuts influence banks' loan rates, they do
- 6:31not control them directly. Bankrate financial
- 6:35analyst Steph Cates stated, We're not going to
- 6:38see mortgage rates, car loans, savings rates
- 6:41all at once have a step change down by exactly
- 6:44a quarter percent. For mortgages, the 30 -year
- 6:47rate is around 6 .19 % and is influenced more
- 6:51by Treasury bond yields. Auto loan rates, averaging
- 6:566 .6%, are also affected by many factors, including
- 7:01borrower credit scores. In business news, S &P
- 7:08and NASDAQ futures fell Wednesday night, as Oracle's
- 7:11results reunited fears about high -flying tech
- 7:14stocks, despite the Federal Reserve's latest
- 7:17interest rate cut boosting U .S. equity markets
- 7:20in the prior session. Futures tied to the Dow
- 7:23Jones Industrial Average added 43 points, or
- 7:270 .1%. Oracle shares tumbled 11 % after posting
- 7:32disappointing quarterly revenue and raising its
- 7:35spending forecast. In after -hours trading, other
- 7:39AI plays also fell, including Nvidia down 1%,
- 7:43and Core weaved down more than 3%. Investors
- 7:47suggest caution ahead, as the central bank remains
- 7:50in a wait -and -see mode regarding future monetary
- 7:53policy. In crypto movement, Bitcoin is down 3%,
- 7:59to $90 ,000. Ethereum is down 4 % to just under
- 8:05$3 ,200. And SRP is down 4 % to $2 .00. Moving

- 8:58back to the show. Let's talk science. On side
- 9:03of Earth is rapidly getting colder than the other.
- 9:07Research shows the Pacific Hemisphere is losing
- 9:09heat faster than the African Hemisphere. Scientists
- 9:13from the University of Oslo indicate that one
- 9:16side of Earth's interior is losing heat much
- 9:19faster than the other side. A study published
- 9:22in Geophysical Research Letters reveals that
- 9:25parts of Earth have been insulated by more landmass,
- 9:28creating a thermos layer that traps heat. The
- 9:32Pacific Hemisphere has cooled about 50 Kelvin
- 9:35more than the African Hemisphere. This suggests
- 9:38that the Pacific was much hotter at a certain
- 9:41moment in time. Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson
- 9:49are expected to reprise their roles as Katniss
- 9:52Everdeen and Peta Mallark in the Hunger Games
- 9:55prequel, Sunrise on the Reaping. This Lionsgate
- 10:00movie is based on the latest novel by Suzanne
- 10:02Collins, following the events of the 50th Hunger
- 10:05Games, 24 years before Katniss and Peta entered
- 10:09the killing field. The story centers on Haymitch's
- 10:13experience in the games as a 16 -year -old, played
- 10:17by Joseph Sada. The film is set for release on
- 10:20November 20th, 2026, directed by Francis Lawrence.
- 10:26It also stars Elle Fanning, Ralph Fiennes, Kieran
- 10:29Culkin, and Jesse Plemons among others. Well,
- 10:34all righty, folks. It's time for the quote of
- 10:36the day. And today, our quote comes from the
- 10:40American writer and philosopher Albert Hubbard.
- 10:44And he said, The greatest mistake you can make
- 10:48in life is to be continually fearing you will
- 10:51make one. And that's a wrap for this morning.
