- 2:18Speaker 3: Not Dad, not that dad. No, I love that, not daddy. Will.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Oh you got my first name.
- 2:26Speaker 1: I'm gonna have to explain this to people and they're like, oh,
- 2:28Speaker 1: did your who made that for you? They might people
- 2:31Speaker 1: might think if they read the name, they might see
- 2:33Speaker 1: the bracelet and start to think like, oh, did your
- 2:35Speaker 1: daughter make you that? But the minute they see my
- 2:37Speaker 1: name in the middle of them thinking.
- 2:38Speaker 2: That question, they'll they'll switch from like oh did you

- 13:38Speaker 2: thank you for what you're doing. Your podcast has been
- 13:40Speaker 2: a lifeline for me these past couple of months. My
- 13:42Speaker 2: firstborn son, Carson, is two months old. He was born
- 13:45Speaker 2: six weeks early and spent the first month of his
- 13:47Speaker 2: life in the niek You. A week after he was born,
- 13:51Speaker 2: I quit my job and decided to go all in
- 13:53Speaker 2: all my business. My former employer wasn't willing to give
- 13:56Speaker 2: me the time off I needed and completely disregarded what
- 13:59Speaker 2: my family was going through. That moment pushed me to
- 14:02Speaker 2: choose my family first and bet on myself. These last
- 14:05Speaker 2: few months, I've been some of the hardest and most
- 14:07Speaker 2: meaningful days of my life, juggling late night feeds, niek.
- 14:11Speaker 3: You visits, figuring out how.
- 14:13Speaker 2: To launch a business from scratch, and trying my best
- 14:17Speaker 2: and trying my best to take care of my wife
- 14:19Speaker 2: as we adjust to everything. It's been a lot, but
- 14:22Speaker 2: you guys in the PT six community have brought nothing
- 14:25Speaker 2: but positivity, perspective, and encouragement right when I needed it.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Thank you for showing up every week, for being real,
- 14:32Speaker 2: and for creating a space that reminds dads like me
- 14:36Speaker 2: that we're not alone. I'm grateful for you guys in
- 14:38Speaker 2: the community that you're building. Keep doing what you're doing.
- 14:41Speaker 2: It matters. Jake Davison via email.
- 14:45Speaker 3: Jake, thank you, bro, Thank you for that email. Man. Yeah,
- 14:48Speaker 3: that's that's a war right there.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Oh yeah, dude, trying to start a business from scratch,
- 14:53Speaker 1: Nick you visits, yees, late night feeds.
- 14:57Speaker 3: Just how all of that shit weighs on you.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Yeah, that's got to be the constant And just like
- 15:03Speaker 2: all the different punches in that of like boss isn't willing.
- 15:05Speaker 3: To help with the.
- 15:07Speaker 2: The and you know, taking the silver lining of it,
- 15:11Speaker 2: of using that as an excuse of Hey, I've always
- 15:13Speaker 2: wanted to start my business, maybe now's the time.
- 15:15Speaker 3: Yeah, but that's still so hard.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Oh that's a two where like the Boys, like you
- 15:20Speaker 1: could be consoling with somebody and there could be giving
- 15:22Speaker 1: you bet some advice or encouragement or whatever, and it
- 15:24Speaker 1: just goes through one air and at the other because
- 15:26Speaker 1: you're you just feel like it, ain't nobody coming to
- 15:29Speaker 1: save me here except myself.
- 15:30Speaker 3: Yeah, like, ain't nobody.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Ain't nobody there for me at the end of the
- 15:34Speaker 1: day when I'm laying my head on that pillow.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Wife, he's going through it. I'm going through it, and
- 15:37Speaker 2: everybody's going.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Through it, and it uh, it's awesome that he finds
- 15:42Speaker 1: some he finds some joy listening to the Boys.
- 15:45Speaker 3: Yes, that does.
- 15:47Speaker 2: That makes it feel worth it on the nights where
- 15:50Speaker 2: we're up here at nine o'clock and we're tired, but
- 15:53Speaker 2: like it is still fun.
- 15:54Speaker 3: It is still like.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Hey, tired of grind, being a beast, tired to be
- 15:59Speaker 2: in a bad as dad that has to come home
- 16:02Speaker 2: and hear his wife go, that's not at all how
- 16:04Speaker 2: it went. And I'm not just talking about you. I'm
- 16:08Speaker 2: talking about me.
- 16:09Speaker 3: Oh did it happens? That's what you know.
- 16:11Speaker 1: You forget some parts of the story sometimes as matter
- 16:13Speaker 1: of fact. Oh man, buddy, there's a there's a comment.
- 16:19Speaker 1: Somebody came. Somebody had a perfect one.
- 16:22Speaker 3: There we go. Hey what they say? It's from Mighty
- 16:25Speaker 3: D already too. This one's on YouTube.
- 16:27Speaker 1: When my wife questions are scoffs at the accuracy of
- 16:30Speaker 1: my stories, I just remind her I refuse to let
- 16:32Speaker 1: a little exaggeration get in the way of a good story.
- 16:35Speaker 3: Edit. She saw me write this and said, you've literally
- 16:38Speaker 3: never said that before. There you go. But what's that, bro?
- 16:46Speaker 2: Mighty D already two. Great comment, that's fantastic.
- 16:50Speaker 1: What's funny too, is I didn't even read the edit part.
- 16:52Speaker 1: I saw that and I was like, I have to
- 16:53Speaker 1: bring that in there. Whenever I'm like, hey, hand up,
- 16:55Speaker 1: I wasn't up there. And what Scottie peeped on herself.
- 16:58Speaker 2: That makes even better when it it's like an actual edit.
- 17:01Speaker 2: That means that he literally had to go back and
- 17:05Speaker 2: put on there. Like his wife literally read that and said,
- 17:08Speaker 2: you've never see.
- 17:09Speaker 1: You've never said that in your life. That's a great comment. Yeah, dude.
- 17:15Speaker 1: The week we had last week overall just in the trenches,
- 17:20Speaker 1: a little bit balancing, like, uh, Thanksgiving and everything else.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Obvious sales on the podlast week? You good? Sure do
- 17:25Speaker 3: you need to need to get you right? You got?
- 17:28Speaker 4: You just got mer something special. By the way, you're
- 17:31Speaker 4: looking at that cup. That cup is for later in
- 17:32Speaker 4: the show. Oh, perfect, don't drink that yet.
- 17:34Speaker 3: Okay.
- 17:35Speaker 1: I was looking for some reinforcements, maybe a little liquid
- 17:37Speaker 1: and maybe something.
- 17:37Speaker 3: Wet for liquid courage. Yeah. Yeah, he's like looking around,
- 17:41Speaker 3: Well you got? What do you got? But bro?
- 17:43Speaker 1: The week we had obvious sales on the pod last
- 17:45Speaker 1: week talking about everybody being sick and everything else. And
- 17:49Speaker 1: when we shot the pod was Charlie was Charles sick too?
- 17:52Speaker 1: Was Charles sick?
- 17:52Speaker 3: Yet?
- 17:52Speaker 1: In that podcast she was so she just started getting sick.
- 17:56Speaker 1: And I want to say it was two Monday Tuesday.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Whenever our nanny she's pregnant. I tell that story too,
- 18:03Speaker 1: where Danny's pregnant.
- 18:04Speaker 3: She couldn't come on. We need to get the sitter over. Uh.
- 18:07Speaker 3: Sitter came in clutch.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Sitter traveled home to go to go back home to
- 18:11Speaker 1: Louisiana for Thanksgiving. She got bopped by the same Yeah,
- 18:16Speaker 1: she got bought by the sickness. Next morning, I want
- 18:18Speaker 1: to say, it was Wednesday morning, our nanny, She's coming
- 18:21Speaker 1: over Wednesday morning. She's like, I can do Wednesday. I
- 18:24Speaker 1: feel comfortable coming over. Yaha, yeah yeah. And she walks
- 18:26Speaker 1: in the house. I'm standing there, Roos going to the bathroom.
- 18:28Speaker 1: I'm like doing the morning routine and everything else. I
- 18:30Speaker 1: want to say, Charles out of the house. By this
- 18:32Speaker 1: point during the morning routine, like Ru's going to the bathroom,
- 18:34Speaker 1: Scotti is standing there. I'm trying to keep her from
- 18:36Speaker 1: like climbing up on the on the on the step stool,
- 18:39Speaker 1: stepping stool, get the sink and like, Scotti, go go
- 18:43Speaker 1: go go in ruse room, where are you going to
- 18:46Speaker 1: And I turned around, look over and I thought she
- 18:49Speaker 1: puked on the ground.
- 18:50Speaker 3: Oh no, she shit on the ground.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Runs just on the ground, and I'm nanny walks in.
- 18:59Speaker 1: There's a part of me and my mind I'm like,
- 19:01Speaker 1: should I tell her to get out of here because
- 19:03Speaker 1: I'm thinking symptoms are over? Yeah, I wasn't one who
- 19:05Speaker 1: gets sick because she's u because she's bregenant. I'm like upstairs,
- 19:09Speaker 1: like I put Scottie in the I put Scotti in
- 19:11Speaker 1: the sink, and I'm just like washing her off with
- 19:13Speaker 1: the faucet water in it.
- 19:14Speaker 3: Because I'm not trying to touch it.
- 19:15Speaker 2: I like, I get weird about, like, oh my god,
- 19:17Speaker 2: there'shit everywhere, runs everywhere.
- 19:19Speaker 3: I'm like, cauld.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Myself back from throwing up Clay. Audrey, are you here, Yeah,
- 19:25Speaker 1: I'm here. I'm like, hey, we got a bit of
- 19:26Speaker 1: a deal going on upstairs. And charl eventually comes in
- 19:30Speaker 1: the house because Audrey's helping me out, and Charles like,
- 19:33Speaker 1: are you sure you're comfortable being here? And She's like, yeah, no,
- 19:35Speaker 1: I feel good. She gets popped on Thanksgiving, bro, So everybody, everybody,
- 19:41Speaker 1: Everybody goes down.
- 19:42Speaker 3: Everybody goes down on Thanksgiving.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Obviously, we had a kind of a late night on Thanksgiving,
- 19:46Speaker 1: sting over at the Lawan's. We kind of stayed past bedtime.
- 19:48Speaker 2: Yes, fussy, We're trying to rush him home there screaming,
- 19:51Speaker 2: We're we get him down.
- 19:52Speaker 3: It was all handled well. Next day Charles breaks out
- 19:55Speaker 3: full body.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Hives, full body hives all over her.
- 20:00Speaker 3: Oh my god, everywhere. Bro. It started off as like
- 20:02Speaker 3: a little rash or whatever.
- 20:03Speaker 2: She's like man could have been something like do they
- 20:05Speaker 2: have like, uh, do they have cats over there?
- 20:08Speaker 3: Like Charles got a cat allergy? Oh they have a
- 20:09Speaker 3: brand new cat or not a brand new but a
- 20:12Speaker 3: newer cat. Yeah, telling me.
- 20:13Speaker 1: And so it was in a couple of spots where
- 20:15Speaker 1: at first we're thinking cat, but then it was starting
- 20:16Speaker 1: to good.
- 20:16Speaker 2: It was literally all over our body. Hives all over
- 20:18Speaker 2: her body.
- 20:19Speaker 1: We don't know if something she ate, but she doesn't
- 20:21Speaker 1: have like a food allergy or anything like that.
- 20:22Speaker 3: Yeah, it gets about enough to worry her. Whole body's covered.
- 20:25Speaker 1: She goes into urgent care just to get it looked,
- 20:27Speaker 1: just to get it checked out, make things all good.
- 20:30Speaker 1: She was fine, Like they like offered her a steroids.
- 20:33Speaker 1: She said no to that, and then she comes home
- 20:35Speaker 1: but she was in hives. Then Friday night, we're doing
- 20:39Speaker 1: Ruth's bedtime and charl finds lice in her hair. She comes,
- 20:46Speaker 1: she comes along and she, uh, I forget when Ruth
- 20:49Speaker 1: comes home, but uh, we find lice in her hair.
- 20:52Speaker 3: So we're upstairs.
- 20:52Speaker 1: I got the light on at nighttime, it's Friday night,
- 20:55Speaker 1: trying to find these life we get like, we get
- 20:57Speaker 1: like four of them out. Charg gets just fashional to
- 21:00Speaker 1: come over to the house on Saturday morning. She does
- 21:02Speaker 1: the whole thing where she goes through all of our heads.
- 21:04Speaker 1: Your boy's good. They apparently likes don't like men. They
- 21:07Speaker 1: don't like the testosterone that we carry. We're a little
- 21:09Speaker 1: too hot for life, so we're never it's always like
- 21:11Speaker 1: for I think it's like just girls like younger, younger girls,
- 21:15Speaker 1: predominantly Caucasian girls that likes just cling to races. And
- 21:21Speaker 1: that's that's what I was looking up. I was looking
- 21:23Speaker 1: up and charw didn't have any Scotty was fine.
- 21:26Speaker 3: I was fine. It was just rue.
- 21:28Speaker 1: So we got stuff in the freezer overnight. We're getting
- 21:30Speaker 1: all this stuff, then the washer and dryer and everything.
- 21:34Speaker 3: It was a deal.
- 21:35Speaker 1: And then on it's either Saturday or Sunday morning. I
- 21:38Speaker 1: can't all the days are running together right now, Charles
- 21:40Speaker 1: starts to get a little bit of a cold again.
- 21:42Speaker 1: She's fine now. But we did it was it felt
- 21:45Speaker 1: like one day after another boom boom boom, and then.
- 21:48Speaker 3: You love like we got home.
- 21:50Speaker 1: I got home on Wednesday afternoon and I just could
- 21:52Speaker 1: not wait for the Thanksgiving weekend. We didn't have to
- 21:54Speaker 1: go to ESPN. We didn't have to stream. We didn't
- 21:57Speaker 1: have any obligations as far as content goes other then,
- 22:00Speaker 1: other than promoting the Black Friday stuff. Yeah, so it's
- 22:03Speaker 1: just like, you know, you're watching TV, laid your you're
- 22:06Speaker 1: you know, you're sleeping. You're like kind of sleeping in.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Kids come downstairs, like you were having all the family
- 22:10Speaker 1: time in the world. But on Thanksgiving break and everything
- 22:13Speaker 1: like that, Dude, on Saturday and Sunday when you got
- 22:15Speaker 1: the kid os, you're kind of craving to come back
- 22:17Speaker 1: to work because you it's just been you and the
- 22:19Speaker 1: fam for like four days in a row.
- 22:21Speaker 3: Yeah, John, I got out of the house last night.
- 22:23Speaker 1: God bless her. Her parents. They come over after traveling
- 22:25Speaker 1: to the East Coast all week. They get they they're driving.
- 22:28Speaker 1: They drive back on Saturday, Derek, I know you.
- 22:31Speaker 3: Did as well. Yeah, that's right.
- 22:32Speaker 1: They drive back on Saturday, turn around Sunday, come over
- 22:34Speaker 1: to the house, watch the kids drawing.
- 22:35Speaker 3: I dip.
- 22:37Speaker 1: We leave from like like four to about six thirty seven.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Got out of the house and Win got some got
- 22:43Speaker 1: some dinner. She just took a little breather, talked about
- 22:46Speaker 1: the week coming up, kind of excited to get back
- 22:48Speaker 1: in the routine of everything, so that way route can
- 22:50Speaker 1: go to school and we get some help back over.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Everybody's healthy now knock on wood. Your boy didn't get
- 22:56Speaker 1: snipped though, Yeah you're in you look good. Avoid did
- 23:00Speaker 1: not get sniped. You don't get don't have time, Yeah
- 23:03Speaker 1: you told me, you said it last week.
- 23:05Speaker 3: We don't have time to get sick. No, we don't.
- 23:08Speaker 1: But for whatever reason, I came out on skath bro
- 23:11Speaker 1: came out on skates after the pukes, like, don't put
- 23:16Speaker 1: a house money over here.
- 23:18Speaker 2: You really I've been dodging bullets. That's crazy.
- 23:21Speaker 3: Yeah, it was a it was a weekend. Man.
- 23:23Speaker 2: It can truly become a cycle to Jill has talked
- 23:26Speaker 2: about it before, like in a family, especially a family
- 23:30Speaker 2: of four, where the yeah, the virus, Derek's over there,
- 23:34Speaker 2: going like that, but it literally just keeps on keeping on,
- 23:37Speaker 2: and this person gets sick, then this person, then this person,
- 23:40Speaker 2: then this person. It could be like a month long
- 23:43Speaker 2: where your house is just flew ridden. Yeah, sorry, wash
- 23:50Speaker 2: your hands, wash your hand, wash your hands.
- 23:54Speaker 3: So it comes the virus comes from school.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Got the little one, yeah, got mom, got to sit her,
- 24:00Speaker 1: got the nanny, one by one by one, and I'm
- 24:04Speaker 1: just in the corner kind of waiting, is it gonna
- 24:06Speaker 1: happen to me?
- 24:07Speaker 3: Never touch me? Yeah we have.
- 24:09Speaker 2: We've only had one scare so far with daycare. And
- 24:11Speaker 2: it was like a little email that was like, hey,
- 24:13Speaker 2: one of the kids might have ring worm.
- 24:16Speaker 3: Looked out for the ring worm, watch out for the
- 24:18Speaker 3: ring wing worm. And wrestling wrestling with the kids. You
- 24:21Speaker 3: were just wrestling, but it ended up being like some
- 24:23Speaker 3: little spot. You gotta be careful. Man. One time I
- 24:27Speaker 3: was I was wiping roue.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Maybe I didn't wash my hands after and then I
- 24:32Speaker 1: caught pink eye.
- 24:36Speaker 3: Yeah, cleaning room. Maybe a little bit got on me.
- 24:38Speaker 3: I don't know. I wiping my eyes. This next thing
- 24:42Speaker 3: a pink iy.
- 24:43Speaker 2: This is such a gross story, but it's a It's
- 24:46Speaker 2: a good lesson if you have pets in the home,
- 24:49Speaker 2: is don't leave waters out like for a long time
- 24:52Speaker 2: and then like drink it later. Because I had a
- 24:54Speaker 2: roommate with a cat in college and I got this
- 24:58Speaker 2: nasty case of ring worm and I go get it
- 25:01Speaker 2: checked and the doctor's like, do you have any pets
- 25:03Speaker 2: in the home, And I was like, yeah, I do.
- 25:06Speaker 2: He's like, yeah, well go check the pet for ringworm,
- 25:09Speaker 2: and then do you leave like waters by your nightstand
- 25:12Speaker 2: and leave your door open at all? Maybe the cat
- 25:14Speaker 2: got in and like drank out of your nightstand water
- 25:17Speaker 2: and then you drank it, and sure enough the cat
- 25:19Speaker 2: just had this like massive ring worm on its belly.
- 25:22Speaker 2: And I was like, dude, never again, never again. And
- 25:26Speaker 2: Jill's probably listening to this, and as like, Suman, you
- 25:29Speaker 2: leave waters on your nightstand all the time.
- 25:30Speaker 3: The dogs can't get up there. We don't have a cat.
- 25:36Speaker 3: So I already beat her to her giving me notes
- 25:38Speaker 3: when I get Yeah, my Thanksgiving it was really good
- 25:44Speaker 3: the break. Uh, Jill worked all of the breaks, so
- 25:48Speaker 3: it was like solo time with Scarlet on Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
- 25:55Speaker 3: But it was really good.
- 25:56Speaker 1: So much she had the work bro shut out, the
- 25:59Speaker 1: moms up, yeah, healthcare on call, had to work the weekends.
- 26:03Speaker 2: It was hard, and that I would say, that's kind
- 26:07Speaker 2: of like the main takeaway from the weekend is I
- 26:10Speaker 2: was already I think I'm just really really drained and
- 26:15Speaker 2: uh like energy emotional wise, just like fully drained. And
- 26:19Speaker 2: so going into that week, I was already kind of drained,
- 26:22Speaker 2: and then during the weekend, I like almost just have
- 26:26Speaker 2: like a mental break from just being like yo, like
- 26:30Speaker 2: this is like, oh my gosh, what I sign up for,
- 26:34Speaker 2: but also in the same breath, like being really appreciative
- 26:39Speaker 2: of what I signed up for, and like Scarlet. Just
- 26:43Speaker 2: that time with Scarlett was really incredible because now she
- 26:47Speaker 2: like is being held by mom, but she's like reaching
- 26:50Speaker 2: out to me and kind of like being like nah nah,
- 26:53Speaker 2: which she always did that vice versa.
- 26:55Speaker 3: Because you had someone, you had all those you had
- 26:57Speaker 3: the time with her.
- 26:58Speaker 2: Oh so much time, dude, just like her falling asleep
- 27:00Speaker 2: on my chest and stuff like after feeds and I
- 27:03Speaker 2: would like time it out.
- 27:04Speaker 3: I was starting to kind of like learn her. Hey,
- 27:07Speaker 3: you you know, you're.
- 27:09Speaker 2: Looking like you want to lay on Dada's chest and
- 27:11Speaker 2: you might want to take a little nappy. And sure enough,
- 27:13Speaker 2: I was right, and she goes down for like a
- 27:15Speaker 2: little hour nap. And so it was a really hard weekend,
- 27:20Speaker 2: but it was a really good weekend and just a
- 27:24Speaker 2: lot of good conversations out of it with Jill two
- 27:28Speaker 2: of kind of like breaking down my weekend and how
- 27:31Speaker 2: it was hard and I'm sure it's hard for you
- 27:33Speaker 2: having to work on the holidays and us kind of
- 27:35Speaker 2: coming together and being like, we need some time for ourselves.
- 27:39Speaker 2: So her mom came up and is up here this week,
- 27:43Speaker 2: and Jill and I are gonna get to go on a.
- 27:45Speaker 3: Little date night.
- 27:47Speaker 2: Yeah this, Oh yeah, two date nights when uh, probably
- 27:51Speaker 2: tomorrow and Wednesday. Nice, dude, we're going to date nights.
- 27:54Speaker 2: We're gonna go see a movie. You know it's one,
- 27:58Speaker 2: don't even know, don't even care. I told her I'll
- 28:00Speaker 2: go see Wicked too. I don't give a shit. I
- 28:03Speaker 2: just think it's a good.
- 28:04Speaker 1: We saw the first one not too long ago, which
- 28:06Speaker 1: I'm second one good.
- 28:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I have nothing against Wicked.
- 28:10Speaker 2: That's just like me saying you will go see your
- 28:13Speaker 2: movie like you choose.
- 28:15Speaker 3: I do not care the other Predator. It goes see
- 28:19Speaker 3: the New Predator. And I told her as long as
- 28:24Speaker 3: I was still pissing my wife, we didn't go see
- 28:26Speaker 3: Predator that one day, we'll go see it. We'll see
- 28:29Speaker 3: the New Predator. Yeah, uh wait, sorry, what we'll go
- 28:36Speaker 3: with you to the movie?
- 28:37Speaker 2: Oh yeah, dude, we should do like a little movie night.
- 28:39Speaker 2: That'd be fun. Well, listen, I'm down. I always love
- 28:43Speaker 2: a good theater visit.
- 28:44Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, go check out a flake eat some popcorn.
- 28:48Speaker 2: Bro, that's jill and nice like guilty pleasure. Date night
- 28:51Speaker 2: is dinner in a movie. Yeah, oh dude, and just eat.
- 28:55Speaker 2: Only order apps wherever you go. We only get like
- 28:59Speaker 2: appetizers and somewhere like Chili's or something, you know, just
- 29:03Speaker 2: fast easy whatever, get apps.
- 29:05Speaker 3: Leave some room for popcorn. Jill might want a.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Hot dog, sue me, Honey, I said it. You might
- 29:12Speaker 2: get a hot dog at the theater. You might get
- 29:14Speaker 2: doing She gets the little kid box with that comes
- 29:18Speaker 2: with the popcorn and the candy and the hot dog.
- 29:21Speaker 2: I get a large popcorn every time. Quote me call
- 29:25Speaker 2: up tremo my boys. Okay, I'll tell you always get
- 29:29Speaker 2: the large popcorn. I get the jlapinos too, if you
- 29:31Speaker 2: have never done halapinos with popcorn.
- 29:36Speaker 3: But anyways, she got a couple of date nights coming up.
- 29:38Speaker 3: You got little date nights.
- 29:39Speaker 1: So I pt six listeners right now. You just went
- 29:42Speaker 1: on your first date night last night. You got another
- 29:43Speaker 1: date night coming up to night?
- 29:45Speaker 3: Yeah? Follow shirm what are your social media.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Sure shirm stew underscore too. Yeah it's kind of funny,
- 29:53Speaker 2: kind of rhymes shirm stew underscore too. Come to live
- 29:56Speaker 2: updates all date night and that's STU Stu, not st
- 30:00Speaker 2: w a R at the end with the shockwave.
- 30:03Speaker 3: Oh buddy, if.
- 30:04Speaker 2: I get the ride, I'm not even trying to be funny.
- 30:09Speaker 2: I'm not even trying to be funny. If I in
- 30:11Speaker 2: these next two days, if I go to the movies
- 30:15Speaker 2: and eat a large bucket of popcorn with Alpinos and
- 30:19Speaker 2: then have a steak that I did not cook, that
- 30:22Speaker 2: someone cook for me, and then ride Shockwave take me,
- 30:27Speaker 2: take me to heaven with the good night of sleep.
- 30:30Speaker 2: I'm I get to sleep in. Holy shit, buddy.
- 30:39Speaker 3: That morning two is gonna be nice the next.
- 30:41Speaker 2: Time, and that that shockwave dopamine hit and then you
- 30:44Speaker 2: just boom and you're out and then you sleep in
- 30:48Speaker 2: that next morning. And for any new listener, shockwave means coitus,
- 30:54Speaker 2: which is lappened for sex, not the not they get
- 30:58Speaker 2: through dirty on you.
- 30:59Speaker 3: But it is a lazy late night people. We'll be
- 31:01Speaker 3: cracking a cold one. I digress. I'm sorry, I just
- 31:06Speaker 3: got what are you sorry for?
- 31:07Speaker 5: Man?
- 31:08Speaker 3: I don't even know. Yeah, Like, be excited, bro, I'm
- 31:11Speaker 3: sucking the d six had before you.
- 31:13Speaker 2: They're they're they're nudging, they're they're missus right now, baby,
- 31:16Speaker 2: a shock wave.
- 31:18Speaker 3: Sherman, what kind of steak are you gonna get? Talk
- 31:20Speaker 3: dirty to me?
- 31:21Speaker 6: Probably a rabbi and I eat all the fat, dude,
- 31:24Speaker 6: I don't even care, Like, oh.
- 31:26Speaker 3: I'm blowing and I have cramps. Not to night. What's that?
- 31:29Speaker 3: What is that? Hall Pass? I need to watch that movie?
- 31:32Speaker 3: Is you've never seen Hall Pass? It's with Owen Wilson
- 31:35Speaker 3: and Jason.
- 31:37Speaker 2: Yes, you've never seen, Bro, You've got to watch fully
- 31:41Speaker 2: watched Derek where.
- 31:43Speaker 1: He's like he's like wanting to get ladies, like popping around.
- 31:45Speaker 1: He's like popping around the ass, stop going on the stairs.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Oh stop and blowing.
- 31:48Speaker 3: I have cramps.
- 31:49Speaker 4: When they get caught on the security camera and he's
- 31:51Speaker 4: like hello, he's like movie, yeah, all right, I guess
- 31:56Speaker 4: the car it is and he's just jerking off in
- 31:58Speaker 4: the car.
- 32:01Speaker 3: That's where he goes. Yeah. Yeah, god, what a spot. Bro.
- 32:05Speaker 3: Have to watch All past Man. Great movie for BT sixers.
- 32:10Speaker 3: I've always seen.
- 32:11Speaker 2: It's one of those where I probably always caught the
- 32:13Speaker 2: last thirty minutes or something. I couldn't tell you any
- 32:16Speaker 2: scenes from it. I need to sit down and fully
- 32:18Speaker 2: watch it.
- 32:19Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah, you like it that's a good movie. Also,
- 32:22Speaker 3: the vibes are so electric in here, like just the
- 32:26Speaker 3: lighting is incredible.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Yeah, shout out, yeah, shout out, Chef, You've crushed the lighting.
- 32:31Speaker 2: Bro.
- 32:31Speaker 1: I've been seeing people even comment go on the way
- 32:33Speaker 1: to comment about the lighting that show, you know, like,
- 32:37Speaker 1: why the.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Hell are people in our comments talking about the lighting
- 32:39Speaker 2: because it's that good.
- 32:40Speaker 3: Yeah, it's cozy. It's cozy. We have rain just gently
- 32:44Speaker 3: going on the roof.
- 32:47Speaker 1: We're having some good laughs, some good laughs. What else
- 32:52Speaker 1: is that to talk about? Barty fatherhood? I don't know
- 32:54Speaker 1: what do you all want to talk about?
- 32:57Speaker 3: Can I talk about my turkey? Yeah? Sure, Chef talk
- 33:02Speaker 3: to us about your turkey. Just keep it under an hour, Chef,
- 33:07Speaker 3: talk about the turkey.
- 33:09Speaker 7: I just want to say that to all the PT
- 33:11Speaker 7: sixers out there that commented under the video that we
- 33:14Speaker 7: posted giving me props. I can't tell you how much
- 33:17Speaker 7: that means to me, because there's a lot of pressure.
- 33:20Speaker 7: First turkey of the first turkey of my life, and
- 33:22Speaker 7: Thanksgiving is a big you script the turkey, it's a
- 33:25Speaker 7: big thing, you know.
- 33:26Speaker 3: It's that is a big deal.
- 33:28Speaker 7: It's a prime time spot and I was very happy
- 33:30Speaker 7: with that with how it turned out and needed like
- 33:33Speaker 7: ten minutes less than the oven.
- 33:34Speaker 3: Shit, No rest was just a little dry. Do you
- 33:37Speaker 3: mind doing me a favorite? Can you put an image
- 33:40Speaker 3: of your turkey right there?
- 33:41Speaker 2: Yes, I can, because I want PT six to see it,
- 33:44Speaker 2: because it deserves screen time. And then tell us a
- 33:48Speaker 2: little bit about your family's reaction to your turkey chef.
- 33:51Speaker 3: What were the people saying? It was really good all
- 33:53Speaker 3: around the board.
- 33:54Speaker 7: My dad's very happy because he doesn't have to cook
- 33:56Speaker 7: a turkey anymore and now it's my responsibility.
- 33:58Speaker 3: Per uh.
- 34:00Speaker 7: Got compliments from the parents, grandparents, a little brother even
- 34:03Speaker 7: put in something nice there, had a couple of nice words.
- 34:06Speaker 3: That's you know, that's a big win. That's big. I
- 34:09Speaker 3: was happy with it.
- 34:10Speaker 7: I'm usually the person that will ship on my food
- 34:12Speaker 7: the most, just naturally, so overall I was.
- 34:15Speaker 3: I was.
- 34:17Speaker 7: It was kind of it was a big win. So
- 34:19Speaker 7: on to next year and we're gonna elevate. We can
- 34:21Speaker 7: get better.
- 34:24Speaker 3: On the turkey chef. Maybe an underground up And how's
- 34:27Speaker 3: you and your bro? How's you and brother? Dude? We
- 34:29Speaker 3: had the best Thanksgiving we've ever had.
- 34:32Speaker 7: Nice man, we sat there, we ripped a couple of
- 34:34Speaker 7: parlays watched. It was genuinely the best Thanksgiving I've had
- 34:41Speaker 7: with him. Really well, we we're in that sailing spot
- 34:43Speaker 7: where I think we were a little late to the party,
- 34:45Speaker 7: but we've had that moment where we were like, hey,
- 34:48Speaker 7: you're actually really awesome, like as a as a brother
- 34:51Speaker 7: and stuff. You know how like when you're younger, you
- 34:53Speaker 7: get in that stage or you fight a lot. I
- 34:55Speaker 7: think we finally hit a big, a big swing over
- 34:58Speaker 7: which he twenties, he's twenty, that'd be twenty one.
- 35:01Speaker 3: There you go. So we had.
- 35:03Speaker 7: A a We hit a parlay on Thanksgiving, actually I did.
- 35:09Speaker 7: He added Mark Andrews anytime touchdown, which didn't hit. So
- 35:13Speaker 7: I was celebrating, but he was happy for But it
- 35:15Speaker 7: was just the feeling of like, oh yeah, we got
- 35:17Speaker 7: to bond a lot, and we don't get to see
- 35:19Speaker 7: each other lot because he's in college.
- 35:21Speaker 2: So overall that was remind me of your brother's name. Grant.
- 35:25Speaker 2: Shout out, shout out, Grant, shout out, Grant Man. Glad
- 35:30Speaker 2: you had a good Thanksgiving, Chef.
- 35:31Speaker 3: Thank you, Well, I'm glad. Reic. What about you? Did
- 35:33Speaker 3: you have a good Thanksgiving? I know you drove out
- 35:35Speaker 3: to the East Coast.
- 35:36Speaker 4: Yeah, Wednesday, I drove up to Pittsburgh. Wonderful Thanksgiving. We
- 35:41Speaker 4: do about a noon for my mom's side, and then
- 35:43Speaker 4: at five o'clock from my dad's side. So saw everyone
- 35:45Speaker 4: in my family. Uh, what I will say is the
- 35:49Speaker 4: red solo cups in front of you are a gift
- 35:51Speaker 4: for my father. Oh, I forgot what is dad alipop?
- 35:56Speaker 4: I forgot in the fridge and he said, hey, I
- 35:58Speaker 4: packed you to go back because I left at five
- 36:00Speaker 4: in the morning. And I zipped it up and it
- 36:02Speaker 4: was waters. It was everything in one single Ridge Rush
- 36:05Speaker 4: one singles from old Chip from Chip for everyone to try.
- 36:10Speaker 4: He said, they'll they'll know what I meant when I
- 36:12Speaker 4: said Skittles on steroids. So my Thanksgiving was wonderful. I
- 36:16Speaker 4: come back bearing gifts, uh from a bunch of things
- 36:19Speaker 4: that I had on my desk.
- 36:20Speaker 3: But then Ridge Rush for the.
- 36:21Speaker 2: Boys kid Chip Okay, I really just really quickly shout
- 36:25Speaker 2: out Chip. I fucking love that he did that, And
- 36:29Speaker 2: cheers to the for the Dad's crew, cheers to a
- 36:33Speaker 2: nighttime recording.
- 36:35Speaker 3: It's cheers to the Shockwave. That's pretty good. That's Skittles
- 36:46Speaker 3: on steroids.
- 36:46Speaker 1: Hey, I got I this is my full honestly, doesn't
- 36:49Speaker 1: hit near as hard, is what his description is, like
- 36:53Speaker 1: Skittles on steroids. I taste the skittles, but not in
- 36:56Speaker 1: such a way that it kind of turns me away.
- 36:58Speaker 8: From If you put this in the hands of a
- 37:03Speaker 8: twenty one year old sherman and you threw some Vodki
- 37:07Speaker 8: in this ship, this is.
- 37:09Speaker 2: Like the ultimate like Red Bull, vegas bomb, you know whatever,
- 37:16Speaker 2: any of those bombs.
- 37:17Speaker 7: It's akin to something that I and Hey, we're ollipop here,
- 37:20Speaker 7: but it's a kin. It's a familiarity, that's a really
- 37:22Speaker 7: good taste to it. But it's light.
- 37:25Speaker 3: This a bad show. This this is a family show. Bro.
- 37:29Speaker 3: We don't be talking about Vodkan ollipop. You put some
- 37:35Speaker 3: vodka in this easy?
- 37:37Speaker 2: Hey, Hey, hey, can I tell you about that?
- 37:41Speaker 3: Was the goombrat sneaking out?
- 37:43Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, old goo yo a little bit too much
- 37:46Speaker 2: about it, So I want to listen the cream soda ollipo.
- 37:53Speaker 1: Incredible. So Wifey and Rue we had to make a target.
- 38:00Speaker 3: Yesterday. I was home, Scotty was upstairs taking a nap.
- 38:04Speaker 1: Your boys getting the tree out, getting everything set up
- 38:06Speaker 1: because we were decorating for Christmas over the weekend, which
- 38:10Speaker 1: I hope all of you got to do. That is
- 38:11Speaker 1: a great time. That's a great family building moment is
- 38:14Speaker 1: getting the kids. Like Rue loves putting up ornaments. You
- 38:17Speaker 1: gotta kind of take your time with her. She puts
- 38:18Speaker 1: all the she clusters the naments together in the same spot,
- 38:21Speaker 1: and you got to kind of talk her and hey,
- 38:23Speaker 1: let's put it over here, sweetar we need it's a
- 38:25Speaker 1: little bit more on this side.
- 38:27Speaker 3: They took a little break, they went to target.
- 38:29Speaker 1: I whispered to Rue before she left, and I said, hey,
- 38:33Speaker 1: I said, hey, Rue, come on, let me tell your secret.
- 38:36Speaker 3: And uh, I whispered in her here.
- 38:37Speaker 2: I said, don't let mom forget my lollipop.
- 38:42Speaker 1: Oh Chris Bapple, make sure to tell her. Don't let
- 38:46Speaker 1: mom forget my allipop Charles. She forgot the day before.
- 38:50Speaker 1: But I tell Rue, I'm like, sweetheart, you'll carry out
- 38:52Speaker 1: this mission for dad. Then and I look her in
- 38:54Speaker 1: the eyes and I say, do you got to said yeah,
- 38:58Speaker 1: I said tell me it again.
- 38:59Speaker 2: I said, what do I not want you to forget?
- 39:01Speaker 2: And she like lasen in my hand. She's like, OLLI pop,
- 39:05Speaker 2: go tell your mom. They go get She like goes
- 39:07Speaker 2: over to Mom. She's like, hey, Mom, we.
- 39:09Speaker 3: Can't get for that. We can't forget Dad's ollipop apple
- 39:15Speaker 3: apple juice. I guess Chris Apple like chrisp Apple. They laughed.
- 39:21Speaker 1: They go to the store, come back home, and I'm
- 39:25Speaker 1: sitting over by the we got the fireplace going, get
- 39:27Speaker 1: the fireplace going, and she comes over and I think,
- 39:32Speaker 1: I'm like on my phone and she comes over. She's like, Dad, Dad,
- 39:36Speaker 1: And that's when like she's starting to get starting to
- 39:39Speaker 1: get the sense of.
- 39:39Speaker 3: Tone for delivering news. You would have ran and.
- 39:42Speaker 1: Said, Dad, Dad, I got you allipop apple Chris Bapple.
- 39:46Speaker 1: She goes Dad Dad and I look up. I said,
- 39:49Speaker 1: what is it, sweetheart? And she's like, they didn't have
- 39:52Speaker 1: the apple.
- 39:53Speaker 3: Oh.
- 39:54Speaker 2: I said, oh, sweetheart, that's okay that. She's like, but
- 39:56Speaker 2: I got you a different one. I said, oh my gosh,
- 39:58Speaker 2: you did. Can you go show me.
- 40:00Speaker 3: We get up and kind of go over there.
- 40:01Speaker 1: She like pulls it out and shows me and kind
- 40:04Speaker 1: of shows me in a way like she has the
- 40:05Speaker 1: face like that ain't gonna be happy, because Charles said
- 40:09Speaker 1: she was bummed in the eye and she's like, they
- 40:11Speaker 1: don't got Chris Bapple And she was kind of losing
- 40:13Speaker 1: it a little bit, like we gotta get the We
- 40:15Speaker 1: got to get the Chris Bapple for that day and
- 40:18Speaker 1: it was cream soda and I was so fired up
- 40:20Speaker 1: and I tried it for the first time and buddy, yeah,
- 40:25Speaker 1: emotional reaction top of the list. Really, now that I've
- 40:28Speaker 1: had time to sleep on it, I it might still
- 40:34Speaker 1: be at the top. What Chris Bapple?
- 40:36Speaker 3: Listen? So I've had I've had a classic.
- 40:38Speaker 1: Grape so much that the new flavors are kind of
- 40:41Speaker 1: turning me on a little bit.
- 40:42Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, Chris Bapple.
- 40:45Speaker 1: It's it just it tastes so fresh and light and
- 40:48Speaker 1: it's got the perfect carbonation.
- 40:50Speaker 2: What is the name of this one? That's ridge Rush.
- 40:54Speaker 2: I've seen people are fans of it. This was a
- 40:55Speaker 2: good drink. Ridge Russ was a good drink.
- 40:57Speaker 3: So what chef was leaning to?
- 40:58Speaker 4: There is a green back ridge owned by another company,
- 41:01Speaker 4: will not name that it emulates and I think this
- 41:04Speaker 4: is a better version of it is what we got you?
- 41:06Speaker 3: Oh, I got you cream soda that but the cream
- 41:08Speaker 3: soda bro is so damn good.
- 41:11Speaker 2: I need to try cream soda. I've had banana cream.
- 41:14Speaker 2: I've had great. That's what I want to try. Banana
- 41:17Speaker 2: cream that seems like one that really gets my shit going.
- 41:19Speaker 2: It was very it was very strong, and I'm big
- 41:22Speaker 2: on the tropical flavors of like coconuts, bananas, like all
- 41:26Speaker 2: that kind of jazz. So it might not be your fancy,
- 41:30Speaker 2: but as a fan of those types of flavors, the
- 41:33Speaker 2: banana cream is strong. I do want to say though,
- 41:36Speaker 2: with the ridge Rush, but to y'all's point, not even
- 41:41Speaker 2: close to as sour as I thought it was going
- 41:42Speaker 2: to be an actually really light easy Yeah.
- 41:46Speaker 3: Ridge Rush was good.
- 41:48Speaker 2: Yeah, no, which means it was great. Ridge Rush was good.
- 41:50Speaker 2: It was good quality drink. We need to do a
- 41:53Speaker 2: full PT six breakdown of our favorite yeah flavors because.
- 41:56Speaker 1: I feel like PT six is really buying into this
- 41:59Speaker 1: Ollipop wave. Oh yeah, like we're setting a tone like
- 42:01Speaker 1: BD six is setting a tone out there.
- 42:03Speaker 3: I don't think Ollipop right now.
- 42:05Speaker 7: As a consumer, I don't remember how many times I've
- 42:07Speaker 7: ever seen a podcast with a sponsor or something in
- 42:12Speaker 7: the buy in from a community in terms of a
- 42:14Speaker 7: product or something that is supported, because I think it's
- 42:18Speaker 7: we all love it.
- 42:19Speaker 3: We're big Allipop fans there.
- 42:20Speaker 7: But to see the community then go in and back
- 42:23Speaker 7: it up too, Yeah, and also fall in love with
- 42:25Speaker 7: it just like we have is pretty freaking SISI yes.
- 42:27Speaker 3: Think bro, it aligns. It aligns with like the family vibe.
- 42:30Speaker 1: You got kiddos who like soda, like as far as
- 42:32Speaker 1: alternative for a drink, like, yes, we promote ollipop and
- 42:36Speaker 1: read advertising for ollipop. But it is it's two to
- 42:39Speaker 1: five grams of sugar per can. It's nine grams of
- 42:42Speaker 1: pre biotic fiber. I can list at all.
- 42:44Speaker 2: I don't even need I don't even need the script, bro,
- 42:49Speaker 2: So I would see why families would want to have
- 42:51Speaker 2: it stocked in their fridge.
- 42:53Speaker 3: Number one, what's mom and Dad get a taste of it?
- 42:55Speaker 1: It's like, oh shit, we talk about staying hydrated, drinking water,
- 42:58Speaker 1: all that stuff. Sometimes you need a little something, a
- 43:00Speaker 1: little new to get the taste buds going. Yeah, and
- 43:03Speaker 1: you get to put away the diet bullshit, the diet coke,
- 43:06Speaker 1: to fake sugar stuff, the soda, and you got Ollipop
- 43:09Speaker 1: in your fridge with all these different flavors, the variety,
- 43:12Speaker 1: the range.
- 43:12Speaker 3: I haven't even had more than I've had four total.
- 43:15Speaker 1: I haven't had the Vintage cold yet, I haven't had
- 43:17Speaker 1: the Doctor whatever it is, I'm I'm walking through I
- 43:20Speaker 1: had a true Will Compton tweet moment because I was
- 43:23Speaker 1: walking through the store and I saw an Ollipop holiday
- 43:27Speaker 1: pack and I'm like, you told.
- 43:30Speaker 2: Me the hollipop about a holiday and it's not even
- 43:34Speaker 2: on our at rate.
- 43:35Speaker 3: Bro you and this oh real Compton tweet. But I
- 43:42Speaker 3: know Sherm thought of one too.
- 43:43Speaker 1: We were standing outside the Lawan's and we was I forget,
- 43:46Speaker 1: I think Shirm was taking a picture. We're doing like
- 43:47Speaker 1: a family photo and Sherman's taking I had Sherman saying something,
- 43:50Speaker 1: or I might have been saying something, and I was like.
- 43:51Speaker 3: Hey, how did I get up there? And he started, BROA,
- 43:55Speaker 3: wait keep it. Sorry, sorry, that was it my story.
- 44:00Speaker 3: I get up there. He asked me to take a picture.
- 44:04Speaker 2: I'm telling this to our guys because they would find
- 44:06Speaker 2: it equally hilarious as a Will Compton moment of there's
- 44:10Speaker 2: one single ball, like glowing ball, pretty big in each
- 44:13Speaker 2: one of the Luans trees in their backyard and it's
- 44:17Speaker 2: very very high up in the tree. Nobody has mentioned
- 44:23Speaker 2: these balls at all. Charo is having a conversation with
- 44:26Speaker 2: me and how to work her camera that's very in
- 44:28Speaker 2: depth and Will just all of a sudden just breaks
- 44:32Speaker 2: that and just goes, hey.
- 44:33Speaker 3: How did that get up there?
- 44:36Speaker 2: But the ball and I just belly laughed for like
- 44:40Speaker 2: a solid thirty seconds. And I think Charlo may have
- 44:44Speaker 2: just found it funny that I found it funny. I
- 44:46Speaker 2: don't know, but I just, dude, I barey laughed at that.
- 44:49Speaker 3: I had.
- 44:49Speaker 1: We had to be out there because we had to
- 44:51Speaker 1: go to Rue. So you got a toddler, you're trying
- 44:54Speaker 1: to get a family photo in. You were holding Scotty,
- 44:56Speaker 1: So that's gonna be a let's get a family photo
- 44:59Speaker 1: for it gets too dark, whatever it is. Someone's going
- 45:02Speaker 1: down and Rube's out there swinging outside. So you know,
- 45:06Speaker 1: when you're a little one, they're out there doing their
- 45:08Speaker 1: own thing. You got to kind of go to them
- 45:10Speaker 1: because if you mentioned, hey, let's take a photo together,
- 45:13Speaker 1: they're not about it.
- 45:14Speaker 3: They all of a sudden want to shell up.
- 45:15Speaker 1: When they started getting their own little personality, their own
- 45:17Speaker 1: little attitude, they figure out what family like pictures and
- 45:20Speaker 1: everything else, they don't want to smile. So we had
- 45:23Speaker 1: to go out too rude to do that. Now a
- 45:25Speaker 1: dad hack that I hit so on Black Friday. Black Friday,
- 45:29Speaker 1: morning morning after Thanksgiving, we do. We went over to
- 45:33Speaker 1: Bar three in diod a workout. I worked out I'd
- 45:35Speaker 1: hit my annual quota for working out of Bar three.
- 45:38Speaker 3: By the way.
- 45:38Speaker 1: It was a phenomenal workout, and my back felt better
- 45:41Speaker 1: all weekend. Really not like good and healed, but in
- 45:44Speaker 1: a way to where I wasn't like when I'm leaning
- 45:46Speaker 1: down into the crib. I'm not like having to lean
- 45:48Speaker 1: my whole body on the crib, put my hands on
- 45:50Speaker 1: my knees, like.
- 45:52Speaker 3: My back pain is real. Yeah, but it was a
- 45:55Speaker 3: good enough.
- 45:55Speaker 1: We got to where I'm thinking I might want to
- 45:57Speaker 1: put Bar three in my life weekly once a week
- 46:00Speaker 1: really because it had me that it had me feeling
- 46:02Speaker 1: that good. Now that my dad hack for the family
- 46:05Speaker 1: photos is after we got done with the class, Charle
- 46:09Speaker 1: wanted to get a family photo, you know, holding the
- 46:11Speaker 1: balls like just a family pick at Bar three. I
- 46:14Speaker 1: knew Ru wasn't gonna be about it, and Charle was
- 46:17Speaker 1: about to ask her, and I stopped my wife and
- 46:19Speaker 1: I said, Hey, don't ask Ru to take a photo.
- 46:22Speaker 1: If we ask her, she's not gonna want to do it.
- 46:25Speaker 1: What we need to do is act like we're excited
- 46:27Speaker 1: holding the balls, We're going to take a photo. And
- 46:29Speaker 1: just tell Rue, hey, we're going to take a photo
- 46:30Speaker 1: with Scotti. She was like cleaning the mask. She was
- 46:33Speaker 1: doing something that had her attention. But if you got
- 46:36Speaker 1: a little one, got like ru Is three and so
- 46:39Speaker 1: if you have a three year old or like an
- 46:41Speaker 1: abrasive toddler that doesn't want to take photos, you just
- 46:45Speaker 1: tell them you're going to take a photo with Rue
- 46:47Speaker 1: whoever else. We're going to get a photo together and
- 46:50Speaker 1: pose and do this fun stuff. And you do it
- 46:52Speaker 1: in front of them. They all of a sudden, once
- 46:54Speaker 1: it starts happening, they don't want to miss the photo.
- 46:56Speaker 1: They want to run over. They want to take it
- 46:58Speaker 1: like you're doing. They want to be performative now because
- 47:00Speaker 1: they feel like they're missing out.
- 47:01Speaker 3: All.
- 47:01Speaker 1: Yeah, so a simple dad hack, don't tell your little one.
- 47:06Speaker 1: I don't know if it's gonna work on boys, boys
- 47:08Speaker 1: or nuts. Boys are a different animal. There could be
- 47:10Speaker 1: parents like that, like, yeah, boys are a different beast.
- 47:12Speaker 1: But you got a little girl and they're kind of
- 47:14Speaker 1: a brace of taking photos. You just don't tell them.
- 47:16Speaker 1: You're like, hey, can we get a photo with you?
- 47:17Speaker 1: You just go and start taking the photo and let
- 47:19Speaker 1: her know.
- 47:20Speaker 3: Hey, what we do is.
- 47:22Speaker 1: Hey, we're gonna go take a photo with Scotty. We'll
- 47:24Speaker 1: be back in a second, like right in front of her,
- 47:25Speaker 1: and then all of a sudden she wants to run
- 47:27Speaker 1: in and take a photo.
- 47:27Speaker 3: And it was. It was beautiful, that simple, dead hackmad hack.
- 47:32Speaker 2: And it goes along with the law of the picnic.
- 47:35Speaker 2: That's a lot harder to talk somebody into coming with
- 47:38Speaker 2: you to the picnic, whereas if you just laid the
- 47:41Speaker 2: picnic out and you're sitting there and you got all
- 47:43Speaker 2: the nice food and it looks nice, somebody's way more
- 47:45Speaker 2: willing to come sit down there.
- 47:47Speaker 3: That's called the law of the picnic. The law of
- 47:48Speaker 3: the picnic.
- 47:49Speaker 2: Okay, you set the picnic up and then it looks good,
- 47:52Speaker 2: it looks fun.
- 47:53Speaker 3: Law of attraction. They come in, they want to join. Boom,
- 47:55Speaker 3: Hey that looks kind of fun over there. Yeah. I
- 47:58Speaker 3: feel that love. I love.
- 48:00Speaker 2: Also another Dad act was Rue swinging on the swing
- 48:04Speaker 2: and we go to take the picture with her.
- 48:06Speaker 3: Hey, you gotta get off the swing. We gotta take
- 48:08Speaker 3: a picture. No, no, no no.
- 48:10Speaker 2: And I just instantly go, actually, you know what, Rue,
- 48:12Speaker 2: stand on the swing? Yeah, you don't have to move
- 48:15Speaker 2: you you get to stand on the swing.
- 48:17Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, and she jumped on that. Yeah, she was
- 48:21Speaker 3: about that.
- 48:21Speaker 1: And then the next day I was thinking about the
- 48:23Speaker 1: same element of her not wanting to do it. I'm like, hey,
- 48:25Speaker 1: don't even ask, or let's just say we're taking a photo.
- 48:27Speaker 1: Let's look like we're having fun. She'll run right over
- 48:29Speaker 1: to us.
- 48:29Speaker 3: Let's go a flawless execution.
- 48:32Speaker 2: We we have some further readings. I know you have some,
- 48:36Speaker 2: and then I have some thoughts and prayers.
- 48:38Speaker 3: Comments.
- 48:39Speaker 1: Okay, I got some positive show comments. I can rip
- 48:41Speaker 1: this from Harrison con eighty three oh three on YouTube.
- 48:45Speaker 1: Grateful for the Dad. Shout out Chef Jack, shout out
- 48:47Speaker 1: a home team, pizza and Pizza Friday. Oh. I got
- 48:51Speaker 1: another one here from Kevin Kuklinski.
- 48:55Speaker 3: Yep.
- 48:56Speaker 1: Haven't been listening for long, but had a comment from
- 48:58Speaker 1: the boys. A couple of pods that hit me. That
- 49:01Speaker 1: hit me hard. I don't have to do these things.
- 49:04Speaker 1: I get to do these things. Shout out Derek.
- 49:07Speaker 3: Shout out Derek.
- 49:08Speaker 1: My girl and I have separated for the time being,
- 49:10Speaker 1: and we have an almost.
- 49:12Speaker 3: Three year old boy.
- 49:14Speaker 1: This was the first holiday where we are splitting duties
- 49:16Speaker 1: and not together. I showed up to my ex in
- 49:19Speaker 1: laws and saw Sarah cooking by herself. My first thought was,
- 49:23Speaker 1: I get to help out. I got a three year
- 49:26Speaker 1: old occupied with toys and went straight to work, cooking,
- 49:28Speaker 1: doing dishes, prepping the table. It made everyone's day better
- 49:32Speaker 1: and made a very tense situation relaxing. No matter what
- 49:35Speaker 1: the future holds for us. When I get in a
- 49:37Speaker 1: situation where I used to get upset or do nothing
- 49:40Speaker 1: and walk away, I now remember that I get to
- 49:43Speaker 1: do this. Thank you for all the advice, support and love.
- 49:46Speaker 3: PT. Six. That is a comment I was not expected.
- 49:51Speaker 3: I was almost ready to comment.
- 49:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I was almost ready to bust Derek's boss because
- 49:55Speaker 1: Derek goes through the comments and it's got another Derek
- 49:57Speaker 1: shout out in here with the I get to But
- 49:59Speaker 1: that is a dude.
- 50:01Speaker 3: That is a phenomenal comment that I was not expecting.
- 50:03Speaker 4: The reason my favorite comment of the week by far.
- 50:06Speaker 4: But also, yeah, I thank you guys for saying my
- 50:08Speaker 4: name in it. But I was like, how can I
- 50:10Speaker 4: actually deliver a comment that that guy's perspective is one
- 50:13Speaker 4: that I will choose every day of the week.
- 50:14Speaker 3: That guy has a really good outlook.
- 50:15Speaker 1: On That's an incredible perspective of separating your ego from
- 50:19Speaker 1: everything else. I I it's like, if I'm in that
- 50:22Speaker 1: such situation, you hope to have that outlook on everything,
- 50:26Speaker 1: because I'm sure that is very abrasive, very tense, very uncomfortable,
- 50:31Speaker 1: especially if that's the first time, the first holiday, and
- 50:33Speaker 1: you're on you know, you're in like enemy territory.
- 50:37Speaker 3: Yeah, you know what I mean.
- 50:38Speaker 1: You're at the X in laws, You're you're with them,
- 50:40Speaker 1: you're on that side. You can sit there and make
- 50:43Speaker 1: it awkward. You can make it weird, you know. Instead
- 50:46Speaker 1: you're like looking like, let me go see how I
- 50:48Speaker 1: can help, Let me go cook, let me go do this.
- 50:50Speaker 1: And what a great example for the kiddos, because I'm
- 50:52Speaker 1: sure those are gonna be hard conversations as a three
- 50:54Speaker 1: year old gets older. Yeah, and that dude right there,
- 50:58Speaker 1: say that example is carried out for the rest of time.
- 51:00Speaker 3: What a phenomenal example for their three year old as
- 51:04Speaker 3: they get older.
- 51:05Speaker 2: Yes, dude, and they see what something like that looks
- 51:08Speaker 2: like if they were to happen to be in that situation.
- 51:11Speaker 1: Yea. If they're seeing a bad situation with one of
- 51:13Speaker 1: their friends, and they're reminded of how their parents acted.
- 51:17Speaker 1: Even when you know, you get old enough and have
- 51:20Speaker 1: some perspective and look back and back. Damn they they really,
- 51:24Speaker 1: they really kept it together for the sake of me.
- 51:27Speaker 2: A very humbling reminder to you that I'm seeing there
- 51:30Speaker 2: solo with Scarlet and you know, not woe as me,
- 51:35Speaker 2: but being like, oh man, this is rough and tough,
- 51:38Speaker 2: but like my wife is coming home at the end
- 51:40Speaker 2: of the day, Like I get to sleep in bed
- 51:42Speaker 2: next to my wife that night and we get to
- 51:45Speaker 2: talk about how much we love our daughter. Like this
- 51:48Speaker 2: guy's deep in the trenches finding through a hard situation,
- 51:52Speaker 2: is still finding the positive.
- 51:54Speaker 3: That's awesome. Yeah, that's awesome. Yeah.
- 51:57Speaker 1: I got one more here from Alexa Santa Maria on Instagram.
- 52:01Speaker 3: This is Milk Team six.
- 52:03Speaker 1: Here mama, two daughters one and three, heading to Dayton,
- 52:05Speaker 1: Ohio to see the family for Thanksgiving. Listening to this
- 52:09Speaker 1: episode with my husband. Huge fans, so we have people
- 52:11Speaker 1: listening while traveling. It fires me up sitting in the
- 52:14Speaker 1: backseat with the girls to keep everyone calm. Here Will's
- 52:18Speaker 1: family is fighting a bug throwing up everywhere. Two seconds later,
- 52:22Speaker 1: my three year old is puking all over the car. Oh, iPad,
- 52:26Speaker 1: I tap him in the driver's feed. I tap him
- 52:28Speaker 1: in the driver's seat speaking of throw up. Oh shit,
- 52:32Speaker 1: She asked, what was that throw up? Honey right on cue?
- 52:37Speaker 1: Uh too funny not to share that in the moment.
- 52:39Speaker 1: Happy Thanksgiving, wishing you all safe and happy holidays. Picture
- 52:43Speaker 1: attached post puke, just smiling in the car seat.
- 52:49Speaker 2: Wait so literally as you're telling the puke story, she
- 52:53Speaker 2: puked two seconds later.
- 52:55Speaker 3: Three year old puking all over the car in the iPad,
- 52:58Speaker 3: Oh my god, and listening to the episode in.
- 53:01Speaker 2: The car on a yeah, tap them on the driver's
- 53:04Speaker 2: seat speaking or throw up.
- 53:05Speaker 3: Oh ship, that's so brutal.
- 53:11Speaker 1: Brutal man spentially too, like when kids are thrown up
- 53:15Speaker 1: and it's like their first time throwing up and they
- 53:16Speaker 1: kind of don't know what's happening, and the face is
- 53:18Speaker 1: kind of panics a little bit.
- 53:19Speaker 3: It's like, it's okay, sweetarted, it's okay, you're gonna.
- 53:21Speaker 1: You're doing just fine. Just keep keep yeacking if you
- 53:24Speaker 1: gotta keep on spitting.
- 53:25Speaker 2: But that also reminds me we got to do some
- 53:28Speaker 2: kind of breakdown of road trip prep and like road
- 53:32Speaker 2: trip strategy, diaper changes during road trips.
- 53:36Speaker 3: Yeah, because it's no easy task. No, I thought you
- 53:40Speaker 3: were gonna keep going. I did too, No, I had
- 53:45Speaker 3: something really good.
- 53:46Speaker 2: Though, I had something good. He's how you packed the bag,
- 53:51Speaker 2: he's how you pull over. We can talk about in
- 53:54Speaker 2: another pot. It's you know, it's nothing. I have some
- 53:59Speaker 2: thoughts and prayers coms. This one comes from crut seventeen
- 54:04Speaker 2: on Instagram. He said, boys, sure you won't see this, lol,
- 54:09Speaker 2: we did. But little update. I just commented on last
- 54:12Speaker 2: episode's YouTube posts and told you all about how I'm
- 54:15Speaker 2: supposed to get a terrible week all alone because the
- 54:18Speaker 2: girlfriend and boy are headed off to Disney. Well, here
- 54:24Speaker 2: we are Thanksgiving morning, and she's in the most pain
- 54:28Speaker 2: I've ever seen her in. I brought her to the
- 54:31Speaker 2: er and we have been here all day. She's got
- 54:34Speaker 2: kidney stones and an infection and is going to get
- 54:37Speaker 2: transferred for surgery. They're going to try to get her
- 54:41Speaker 2: in early tomorrow so she can hopefully still make the
- 54:44Speaker 2: flight Saturday, even if she's not able to do any
- 54:48Speaker 2: rides at Disney. I'm by her side, trying to give
- 54:51Speaker 2: her whatever little comfort.
- 54:52Speaker 3: I can.
- 54:52Speaker 2: Feel so awful not being able to ease her pain
- 54:55Speaker 2: at all, but she's an absolute trooper. While crying in
- 54:59Speaker 2: the ear bed, she looked over and said good, with
- 55:02Speaker 2: a very little giggle to follow. I might have turned
- 55:06Speaker 2: her into a Milk Team six member looking for some
- 55:08Speaker 2: good vibes sent our way. Our luck has been down
- 55:12Speaker 2: these last few months. Crut seventeen Crut not only shout
- 55:17Speaker 2: out to you, but shout out to empty sixer that's
- 55:21Speaker 2: going through it. Yeah, kidney sounds are no joke, I know, bro,
- 55:25Speaker 2: thankfully never never had it. And I have a family
- 55:28Speaker 2: member that has passed double digits. Oh of kidney sounds.
- 55:33Speaker 2: I will leave them anonymous by it. Oh buddy, buddy,
- 55:39Speaker 2: it's bad. And that certain family member is female, and
- 55:43Speaker 2: did compare it to childbirth?
- 55:47Speaker 3: Really? Yeah?
- 55:48Speaker 2: Was like very very much. Sharp pains are like close
- 55:55Speaker 2: to childbirth, which is just a crazy thought, crazy thought.
- 56:00Speaker 2: But thoughts and prayers out to that family, pos posit.
- 56:05Speaker 2: I hope they got to go to Disney World.
- 56:08Speaker 1: I really, I'm sure she got it out, you knowing,
- 56:12Speaker 1: what kind of trooper like Leno for saying good with
- 56:14Speaker 1: the little.
- 56:15Speaker 2: Little chuckle, give them the little wink like you eat
- 56:17Speaker 2: in that pastry yeah, good h du Kwan Brown sixty eight.
- 56:23Speaker 2: This comes from TikTok Hey fellas. I just wanted to
- 56:26Speaker 2: say thanks for all you got. Thank lip hey fellas.
- 56:31Speaker 2: I just wanted to say thanks for all you guys
- 56:34Speaker 2: do for dads. My wife just delivered our twins via
- 56:37Speaker 2: c section at thirty four weeks. The twins are in
- 56:41Speaker 2: the Niaku growing awesomely. My wife was released from the
- 56:45Speaker 2: hospital a minute back in the same day for what
- 56:48Speaker 2: she thought was a stroke, turned out to be Bell's
- 56:51Speaker 2: palsy and pre acclampsia.
- 56:54Speaker 3: That serious stuff.
- 56:56Speaker 2: We have been away from our three year old son
- 56:59Speaker 2: for almost a week. Your podcast has been a saving
- 57:02Speaker 2: grace keeping me calm throughout all these events. That is, dude,
- 57:06Speaker 2: that is really really hard. Yeah, man, preaclampsia is very serious.
- 57:11Speaker 2: What is uh explained?
- 57:14Speaker 3: That is?
- 57:16Speaker 2: I cannot go into the medical cause, but that's what
- 57:19Speaker 2: Jill was had potential for pre eclampsia, and.
- 57:26Speaker 3: It has something to do with.
- 57:30Speaker 2: The failure of the what's what the babies feed on
- 57:34Speaker 2: the placenta. It's like a failure of the placenta and
- 57:38Speaker 2: then there's some kind of thing where it basically like
- 57:43Speaker 2: poisons the blood of the mom, I guess if somebody
- 57:47Speaker 2: wants to.
- 57:48Speaker 7: Google the exact cause of uh, I'm not gonna preclam Yeah,
- 57:54Speaker 7: pre eclampsia. Pre eclampsia is unknown, but it's believed to
- 57:58Speaker 7: begin with problems in the development of the plus into
- 58:00Speaker 7: such as inefficient blood flow. It's complex, multiple factors, including
- 58:08Speaker 7: looking for what it what can happen. But yes, very serious, yeah,
- 58:12Speaker 7: very serious stuff. Thoughts and prayers out to.
- 58:15Speaker 1: Them absolutely, and and and the their uh their son too,
- 58:19Speaker 1: like nick you. It's that stuff's never easy, yes, like
- 58:22Speaker 1: cruising nick you for like a like a week, a
- 58:25Speaker 1: little over, maybe like ten days.
- 58:26Speaker 3: I can't remember. My wife I had forgotten about just
- 58:29Speaker 3: swinging at the air right now.
- 58:31Speaker 1: Uh yeah, But because she had letter, they come out
- 58:34Speaker 1: and she's like, oh, she's basically got like her ship
- 58:36Speaker 1: all over her, so it's like in her lungs.
- 58:38Speaker 2: Oh yes, yeah, fulconium, Yes sir, it is, No, it ain't.
- 58:47Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 58:49Speaker 3: Yeah, that was part yeah something.
- 58:54Speaker 1: Basically her sh was all over and got it along,
- 58:57Speaker 1: so she had to be a nick you and it
- 58:58Speaker 1: was for Yeah, she was in there for a little bit.
- 59:01Speaker 2: Falconia is a fictional city in the manga anime series
- 59:06Speaker 2: Berserk Falconia.
- 59:08Speaker 1: Hey, we tell people on this show, we ain't experts,
- 59:12Speaker 1: all right. Hey, hey, a couple of days trying to
- 59:16Speaker 1: figure it out. Oh my gosh, look that up with they're.
- 59:21Speaker 3: There boy and Aragorn.
- 59:22Speaker 6: Actually the baby comes out ship all over them. The
- 59:30Speaker 6: baby comes out in this ship everywhere.
- 59:34Speaker 9: Uh will I'm google baby boop itself and I don't
- 59:40Speaker 9: I don't know what the google is it? Uh, meconium aspirationsconiumonium.
- 59:47Speaker 2: There we go, as Maconey googling this on a working shooter.
- 59:51Speaker 3: What the hell maconium? They basically got shipped on.
- 59:54Speaker 2: I literally googled the baby comes out this ship. That's
- 59:58Speaker 2: what I giggled to what say for years the conium
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: aspiration syndrome. I'm so sorry I'm laughing about this because
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: we were had it, but that that is what had Yeah, yeah,
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: she had falcon.
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: You already know.
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: When they hit me with that, I was like, hell
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: are you talking about? Basically sh it's all over all.
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: You can't just say that like they're born in their
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: own ship. Let me get the cord.
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: Yeah. Wait, being around the doctor and there's the doc
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: that sounds like they might have a little falcon.
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: Sounds like falconia to me. I'm no x men falconia.
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: Oh God, can I talk about my turkey?
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: Let's talk about you talk about the Turkey Show? All right?
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: Can I talk about my turkey?
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: Every time we record at night? This thing is OFFRAI okay,
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: do we do? We want to jump into emails. I
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: do have a very quick what are the odds? Because
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: we didn't do it last week? Hit the what are
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: the odds? I have a krack of cole one from
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: JV five five five, and guys, I am so delirious
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: that I legitimately I need y'all to check me on
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: whether or not I did this? What are the odds?
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: But I swear to god, I don't think we have.
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: Did we talk about twins and the likelihood of twins
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: and type of twins?
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: No? Harvard, Harvard, and we did one more? Okay, so
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: we have not?
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: Okay, then I was the likelihood of hopefully it's so
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: nice that we did it twice is the worst case scenario.
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: But what are the odds? Brought to you by FanDuel,
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: Thank you FANDL. Twins the odds twins?
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: Get about here? What are the odds that one has it.
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: Let's break down twins. What do y'all think is the
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: most common type of twin? I'll break it down for
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: you guys. We have multiple types. We have multiple types.
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: We have identical twins. Yeah, we have fraternal twins that
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: it's either correct, yeah, fraternal twins, falconia twins. But the
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: fraternal twins.
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: They could be boy boy. What's fraternal means?
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: Fraternal means that they are in the same womb, but
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: they are not from the same eg. Two separate eggs.
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: Oh wow, identical twin same EG.
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: Then you got Siamese. Then you got the Siamese.
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: So you have either identical twins or you have fraternal
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: twins that are boy boy, girl girl or boy girl.
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: What do you think is the most common type of twin?
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: Identical? Okay? I think it's uh, fraternal boy girl Okay.
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: Oh so you got to do the option inside the fraternal.
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: You can't just say fraternal. Yeah, do you want to
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: change your answer. I'll go with identical, just to mix
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: it up. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll go identical identical. Yeah.
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: I hope the mic please juice the mic on that
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: we have to get spatio of that will literally just
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: gave his chair falcony.
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: We're off the rails right now. What's the answer?
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: Fraternal opposite Derek wins. Fraternal opposite sex thirty five percent chance.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: I got a crack of cold one here, please, bar
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: boy JV five five five crack of coal one. When
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: your kid gives you an unprovoked, unsolicited I love you,
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: or tells you how much fun they're having with you,
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: the good shit. I actually have a I actually have
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: a very wholesome story scenarios. Last night, it was Sunday,
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: we got home from from date night. We're hanging out
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: with the in laws. We're hanging out the with Lola
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: and Opah. It's about six thirty at night. I'm sitting
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: on the chair closest to the fireplace. Scottie is caddy
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: corner across the coffee table, and I got Scotti throwing
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: a rolodex of verbiage, which is like, ah, Dad Dad, But.
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: Anyway, and I'm like, can you say.
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: Kiss?
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: Because I'll say can you say can you say ah?
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: Can you say Dad? Dad?
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: I'll bet can you say kiss? She stops what she's doing.
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: She was like holding a toy. She puts the toy down,
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: walks around the coffee table and just has a massive
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: smile on her face, thinking like she knows what kiss me.
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: Its thinking like he wants to kiss me. So she
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: just comes over, open mouths with the big smile. I
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: lean in and give her a kiss.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: Then after I give her a kiss, mind you, I'm
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: just trying to get her to say kiss, like I'm
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: trying to test her furbitch.
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: But the fact that she just stops what she's doing
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: when I'm like, can you say kiss? She stops you
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: doing and she just kind of wattles, walks around the
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: coffee table, comes over, gives me a kiss, and then
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: like softly, she's like looking at both my hands and
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: she puts one of her hands and like slides it
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: like under my hand because we have the rhythm of hug,
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: kiss and three squeezes one two three. I she like
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: puts her hand under my hand, and I'm thinking to myself,
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: she wants me to do three squeezes right now, and
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: I'm like one two three, I love you, And she's
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: just smiling, and it was what It melted your boy, bro,
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: It melted your boy.
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: That's epic, boy.
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: I just continue to like bring it on. I'm like, yo,
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: how sweetheart, Charlo? How crazy was that?
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: Like I'm like going through the words and I'm like,
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: can you say kiss? And she stops what she's doing
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: it walks around like I'm gonna go give that dad
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: kiss and then like looks at my hands and softly
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: puts her hand on her mon just to get three squeezes.
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: Dude, is that your cracker cole One? That's gotta be
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: my cracker cold one saying something like that, and it sparked.
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: That sparked me remembering that last night. Yeah, that's my
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: crack a cold one.
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: Bro, my crack a.
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: Cold one goes to uh scarlet meeting Santa today and
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: I sent a little image to Chef and he can
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: pull that up.
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: But I haven't gotten the full breakdown. I've gotten the
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: full story from Jill yet. But it looked like no tears.
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: That's amazing, which is huge.
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: So you will have your that cracker cold one, show
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: the photo, show the photo, and also run the video
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: of room meeting room meeting Black Sanna for the first
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: time we had. I have a photo sitting out in
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: my car like Rue cried. We we went to the
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: mall saw Sanna. She cried the first time. Second time
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: we go to the mall, she cries on that one.
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: We will play this video, this one. It's just so funny.
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: It is just so funny, instant busting classic. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: she's been scared of saying, like, rue's very weary, Like
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: she's very shy. Yeah. We did Halloween this year. She's
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: three this year.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: The first couple of years, I got her in the
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: rhythm of Saint trigger treat and she was like the
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: sweet little girl state trigger treat and stuff. But she's
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: also like very reserved and shy around new people. She's
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: never wanted to meet Santa. We went to we went
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: to this like lights, you know where they have all
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: the lights set up and you walk around. They got
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: the hot chocolate. We're checking out lights. They're saying it
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: back in the barn and we go out to meet
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: Santa in the back of the barn and she's like,
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: she's gripping me, screaming, doesn't want to meet Santa, so
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: you don't. She's never wanted to mess with saying she
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: likes the idea of Santa, but once Santa is there
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: and in front of her, she ain't about that Yeah,
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: it's stranger danger, but this wanted the ball and it
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: was black Santa. It's just the funniest. I did it
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: on the I think I did it. I put on
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: social media. I put it on TikTok. I think last
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: year a couple of years ago.
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: And it was wang.
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: Oh it was nuclear because everybody's playing the whole racing
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: and everything else. I'm just laughing because she's that way
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: with all of them. But it was just so funny
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: that it happened to do this, and I filmed it.
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: So when we got to the mall, I'm like taking videos.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: You ready to go meet Sanda. She's like yeah, she's
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: all excited. Then we go up to meet saying and
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, this is gonna be perfect. Yeah, and
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: just complete meltdown.
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, Yeah. It was so funny. Bro, oh you're
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: watching it. Yeah, it's the way she runs away, She's
- 1:08:16Speaker 3: not with it, like fifty feet No, it's funny, man,
- 1:08:22Speaker 3: it is funny. So we'll see how she does with
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: Sanda this year. Yes, and of course Liquid IV.

- 1:11:31Speaker 1: The community we'll jump into these voicemails and emails is
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: what are some good traditions you do around Christmas time?
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: Like Charles getting Nutcracker tickets lined up? She loves taking
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: rout of the Nutcracker. She has if I want to
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: be a part of it this year, because last year
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: she went with just ruined her and I kind of
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: felt some type of way.
- 1:11:49Speaker 3: Oh so she got to snuck it on me because
- 1:11:51Speaker 3: I went with them a couple of years ago. I
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: enjoyed it. I love seeing fired up.
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: Yeah, but I was like, yeah, go ahead and throw
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: for December twenty sixth, seeing the Nutcracker here in.
- 1:11:59Speaker 3: Nashville, I was about I was about to jump in
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: and be like, bro.
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: The Nutcracker rips rips dude, Yeah and loves it. I've
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: gone with Jill so much fun.
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: But love to hear, love to hear some family traditions
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: around the holidays. Yeah, I love doing the Advent calendar
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: or each day you take a different photo and slide
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: the photo in, you know, along with the month of December.
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: Like last night we did our first one and it
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: was Ruine Scotty in front of the Christmas tree. But
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: you take a little photo with like like a polaroid somewhere,
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: like it spits it out, then you like put it
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: in the put it in the calendar.
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: Something fun that we're doing this year.
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: This is just a throwing idea out there for PT
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: six listeners, is we got Scarlet her own tree.
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: We got our a little nice bro that's fun man.
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: And my mom bought a bunch of ornaments for Scarlet.
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: Oh and uh, it's all set up. And she was like,
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: Jill storied it on Instagram. I'll send you the video
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: so you can throw it up. But Scarlet's looking at
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: the tree and touching it. I'm like, dude, it is
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: the best time for little ones. I did a you know,
- 1:13:04Speaker 2: I got the video.
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: I still got to post it, but I got the
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: video of us putting up the tree and turning the
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: lights on for the first time and getting Scotty's reaction.
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: She just didn't have much reaction. It was super funny.
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: Rue loves it.
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: But dude shopping getting Christmas tree, putting him in the
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: in the little one's room. We were doing some shopping
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: the other day at one of the local spots and
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: I saw this little Grinch tree that I just feel
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: like I have to have.
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: We didn't get it because I don't know why and what.
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: Like what makes it a Grinch tree. It's just super green,
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: it's got the little who like the bend and anything else.
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: Like there's a lot of Grinch theme stuff there. But
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: it was just like this perfect Grinch tree that I
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: feel like I have to have. You should totally get there.
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: Yeah, but your shop and the ornaments that start to
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: come in now that you have a family, Like you
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: have all these family ornaments. I still have my ornament
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: from when I was born, like nineteen eighty nine Christmas
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: ornament that we put up. But you have all these
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: little ornaments that now you'll start building since you have
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: arl it that'll be you know when Charle and I
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: it was us in our first place.
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: It's like Charle me Charle waffle and you have that one.
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: Now we have one that's that was me, Charle, Waffle
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: and Rue. Now we have them with all five of us.
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: And just year after year, you start just building on
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: this toolbox of ornaments to put on the tree.
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: It is the best man.
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: I will also I will shout out my godparents, Allison
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: and Terry. Their gift every single year to me was
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: an ornament when I was a kid, and they told
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: me when I was a kid that I would I
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: will probably wasn't gonna appreciate the gift at the time,
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: but one day I would really love it. And Alison
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: and Terry you were right. And I fucking love my ornaments, dude,
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: and I have like twenty of them and they're incredible.
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: And maybe pet sikas empty sicicos out there do that
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: for your kid, because I greatly appreciate.
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: Bro, you could not be more spot on with like, Hey,
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: you won't appreciate this now, but you will later. Like
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: because I sit back and I see all the Christma
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: stuff and I see them orments, I love the ornament stuff,
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: and I just think to myself, man, an ornament is
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: like an underrated gift that I like, I want to
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: get multiple.
- 1:15:06Speaker 3: So incredible and last thing we will play this voicemail.
- 1:15:11Speaker 3: This is very quick.
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: Was in Franklin and in this little shop, this little boutique,
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: they had upside down tiny Christmas trees hanging from the
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: ceiling like a chandelier, with like the ornaments and the
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: lights on it.
- 1:15:25Speaker 3: It looked sick.
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: I don't know how many bet sikos are empty ciccos
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: got vaulted ceilings.
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: But that look was so sick. I never seen that.
- 1:15:36Speaker 3: Have y'all ever seen that before?
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: No, it was like a Christmas tree chandelier and it
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: looked unreal, a silver Christmas tree with all the stuff hanging.
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: I digress.

- 1:19:21Speaker 10: Hey boys, and calling in a Loner Team six here.
- 1:19:27Speaker 10: I'm a foster parent, so I'm tossing that name out

- 1:19:34Speaker 10: few weeks behind on the pod, trying to catch up.
- 1:19:38Speaker 10: I'm listening to November twelfth episode. They were talking about
- 1:19:42Speaker 10: the one year old birthday parties. Thought i'd share this.
- 1:19:45Speaker 10: Our first foster child was a one. We got her
- 1:19:48Speaker 10: about a week before she turned me one. Well, heye,
- 1:19:52Speaker 10: Haitian little girl beautiful and me my wife were wider
- 1:19:57Speaker 10: than Willie Cee, wider than Showman. Okay, we are white.
- 1:20:02Speaker 10: The first birthday party, my wife wanted to do a
- 1:20:05Speaker 10: one in a melon thing, but we quickly realized you
- 1:20:09Speaker 10: can't put a black baby and watermelon things outfit surrounded
- 1:20:14Speaker 10: by nothing but white people.
- 1:20:16Speaker 3: You can't do it.
- 1:20:17Speaker 10: Oh no, a good look. It wouldn't have been a
- 1:20:19Speaker 10: good look. So we went strawberries instead.
- 1:20:22Speaker 3: So Dad had very specific that from anyone out.
- 1:20:30Speaker 10: Keep going, boys, I'm really glad you are doing this.
- 1:20:33Speaker 3: Oh my god. Oh, let's get her in this shirt. Sweet,
- 1:20:40Speaker 3: we can't do this ship.
- 1:20:41Speaker 2: Honey, I'm whiter than fat staff. You can't be doing
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: this ship and that is quite white. If you're whiter
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: than me and Willie.
- 1:20:50Speaker 3: C you why one in a melon watermelon t shirt?
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: You mean her? That's so funny, dude.
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: Yeah, any foster parents out there that are extremely white
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: and do have a hatian one year old, use the strawberries.
- 1:21:08Speaker 3: Strawberry with it.
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: Oh, that's funny, that's fantastic. Oh, I think he remained anonymous. Correct,
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure he remained Yeah, let's.
- 1:21:17Speaker 3: Keep it that way.

- 1:21:46Speaker 1: with a baby doo in December. We haven't found out
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: the gender, but my wife and I only agree on

- 1:22:58Speaker 2: He just gave four psychopaths an open ended answer. Yeah,
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: we might have to get back. I say we get
- 1:23:07Speaker 2: back to him next.
- 1:23:09Speaker 3: Odd social video.
- 1:23:10Speaker 4: I'll just go around with the tiny mic in the
- 1:23:12Speaker 4: office and ask everyone to give us a guy name.
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: And that'll be And that's hilarious. Really, that's hilarious. That's
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: what we'll do because I honestly want to think on.

- 1:23:23Speaker 3: a little bit. I love the name.
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: I will just throw this out there because it's a
- 1:23:26Speaker 2: family name. I love Charlie and I love the nickname.

- 1:23:32Speaker 2: I just threw in Google, give me some unique tough
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: boy names for a locker room for a baby.
- 1:23:40Speaker 3: Oh, here we go.
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: Knox sounds like he was born with a linebacker neck

- 1:25:26Speaker 3: But we need I will truly think on it.
- 1:25:29Speaker 2: We should all think on it, but then also do

- 1:25:34Speaker 2: love that, Okay, I'll read this email. This one's interesting.
- 1:25:42Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:25:42Speaker 2: Cherry gave me a breakdown of it, but I didn't
- 1:25:44Speaker 2: want to like fully read it. I kind of wanted
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: to like read it open ended on the pod. Uh,
- 1:25:48Speaker 2: this is a poem. Will a poem that was written
- 1:25:52Speaker 2: by Ptsiko.
- 1:25:53Speaker 3: By the name of J.
- 1:25:54Speaker 4: Blair was not written by Ptsico that the author of
- 1:25:57Speaker 4: the poem is in the first that you have.
- 1:26:00Speaker 3: It says if by somebody, my apologies, my apologies. This
- 1:26:04Speaker 3: is I'll just read it. I'll take apologies boys.
- 1:26:10Speaker 2: Justin Blair Semen Team six are here. I feel this
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: poem will resonate with any parents out there. My dad
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: would read it to me as a child, and I
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: revisit it anytime I am facing a challenge or adversity
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: in my life. Much respect, boys. This is if by
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: Rudyard Kipling. If you can keep your head when all
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: about you are losing theirs and blaming it on you.
- 1:26:40Speaker 2: If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
- 1:26:43Speaker 2: but make allowance for their doubting too. If you can
- 1:26:46Speaker 2: wait and not be tired by waiting or being lied about,
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: don't deal in lies or being hated, don't give way
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: to hating, and yet don't look too good nor talk
- 1:26:58Speaker 2: too wise. If you can dream and not make dreams
- 1:27:02Speaker 2: your master. If you can think and not make thoughts
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: your aim. If you can meet with triumph and disaster
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: and treat those two impostors just the same. If you
- 1:27:13Speaker 2: can bear to hear the truth you've spoken twisted by
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: knaves to make a trap for fools, or watch the
- 1:27:20Speaker 2: things you gave your life to broken and stoop and
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: build them up with womb out tools. If you can
- 1:27:29Speaker 2: make one heap of all your winnings and risk it
- 1:27:32Speaker 2: on one turn of pitch, and toss and lose, and
- 1:27:36Speaker 2: start again at your beginnings, and never breathe a word
- 1:27:40Speaker 2: about your loss. If you can force your heart and
- 1:27:43Speaker 2: nerve and sind you to serve your turn long after
- 1:27:47Speaker 2: they are gone, and so hold on when there is
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: nothing in you except the will which says to them,
- 1:27:53Speaker 2: hold on. If you can talk with crowds and keep
- 1:27:56Speaker 2: your virtue, or walk with kings, nor lose the common touch.
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you. If
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: all men count with you, but none too much. If
- 1:28:08Speaker 2: you can fill the unforgiving minute with sixty seconds worth
- 1:28:13Speaker 2: of distance run Yours is the earth and everything that's
- 1:28:17Speaker 2: in it, and which is more? You'll be a man
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: my son? Fabulous found that's strong, Yeah, fabulous found.
- 1:28:26Speaker 3: Thank you for writing that? In who wrote it?
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: What?
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: I'm sorry?
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: Rudyard Kipling was funny and that came from our friend
- 1:28:40Speaker 2: Justin Blair, who's a seaman Team sixer that's into poetry
- 1:28:45Speaker 2: and I love it. I No, I just laughed because
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: it was like a will it just will make me laugh?
- 1:28:54Speaker 2: He who wrote that Kipling?
- 1:28:56Speaker 3: Did? Kipling? Did?
- 1:28:59Speaker 5: God?
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: Oh, you remind me of like the way I feel
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: with Ryan Whitney, Like I could just watch and observe
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: Ryan and listen to him say stuff and.
- 1:29:09Speaker 3: It just makes me laugh.
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: And that's what I feel, like, that's what you hard
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: going on with me, because it's it's like I don't
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: know what you're laughing at.
- 1:29:16Speaker 2: You do?
- 1:29:17Speaker 3: You do? Just make me laugh?
- 1:29:20Speaker 2: Before the pod when you and Chef were getting into
- 1:29:22Speaker 2: college football and you just getting up at mid sentence
- 1:29:26Speaker 2: housing a Krispy Kreme and like never broke from how
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: Nebraska is like gonna pull itself out and I'm just like,
- 1:29:33Speaker 2: there's only one Will Compton, but I digress can I yes, yes,
- 1:29:43Speaker 2: shut out the bone. Heye. And he's a big old
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: poet Siico. He's written a bunch of them bad boys.
- 1:29:54Speaker 2: Oh okay, Pete, Okay, here we go.
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: This is for Derek. I appreciate the warning. PT six
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: difficulty level hard. This is from Ron Holmes Star Asterix
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: sad Alert. Okay, here we go boys, Hey boys, this
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: is Ron. I am new to the to the for
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: the Dad's Podcast. I've been riding on the bus with
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: the boys for a while and decided it was time
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: to hop on this one. I just wanted to write
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: in and tell y'all where I'm at right now. The
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: last episode it was mentioned that we need to talk
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: about the tough thing, so I figured, why not talk
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: about it here. I have a stepdaughter who you can't
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: tell me otherwise.
- 1:30:29Speaker 3: She is mine. I am just being technical for the story.
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: My wife and I found out a couple months ago
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: that we are expecting PT six. All day, well, a
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: few weeks ago, on a Monday, my wife called me
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: at work crying.
- 1:30:44Speaker 3: She just woke up on our bathroom floor after she
- 1:30:47Speaker 3: passed out.
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: We took her to the hospital and found out she
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: passed out because she wasn't hydrated enough for two babies.
- 1:30:54Speaker 3: That's right.
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: We found out we were having twins. Both heartbeats were
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: good and healthy. That same week, on Friday, as I
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: was getting ready to go to work at four am,
- 1:31:04Speaker 1: my wife gets up to go to the bathroom and
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: she sees that she is bleeding, thinking we lost the babies.
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: We take her to the hospital and find out it's
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: a hemorrhage that is fairly common during pregnancy. We were
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: told both babies were healthy and both heartbeats were there.
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: Flash forward to Tuesday of that next week, which was
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: Veterans Day. After all the hospital visits, we go to
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: see my wife's SOB and they do an ultrasound. Knowing
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: our babies were good, we could not wait to see
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: them on the screen. During that ultrasound, we found out
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: that we lost one of the twins. The only thing
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: they could tell us was its heartbeat just stopped. We
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: were devastated, confused, trying to still be happy and excited
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: and excited for the one healthy baby we did have,
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: but we're sad for the life that we were expecting
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: to have with twins. Now going to the last week,
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: my wife called me from her job telling me she
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: was going to the hospital because she was bleeding a lot.
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: We thought we lost another baby. The praise God, our
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: prayers were answered and it was just hemorrhaging again. And
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: yesterday we found out through another appointment with our ob
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: that the hemorrhage is shrinking and the baby is growing
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: and healthy. I just wanted to share it because sometimes
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: life sucks. When my wife and I found out we
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: lost one of the twins, we told each other that
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: if we believe who God says or who God says
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: he is, then as long as baby Bee is still
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: in there, we will pray for God to restore the heartbeat,
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: and if he decides not, if he decides not to,
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: God is still good. If he answered our prayers, we
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: would thank him for the miracle, and if he hadn't,
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: we would rejoice that our baby was in his arms
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: of the Father. Some might callus delusional, and that's okay,
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: but we call it faith. So pray and hope with
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: us that our baby and mama stay healthy and get
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: to meet our child and talk about the hard things.
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: My few takeaways from the pod. I thought alipop was gross,
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: but because so Will, I tried Apple crisp and God
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: is good, Terminalists is great.
- 1:33:04Speaker 3: Watch it other shows.
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: I recommend Shrinking your Friends and Neighbors, Ted Lasso, the
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: Last Frontier Parentheses all on Apple TV.
- 1:33:16Speaker 3: I was about to say.
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: Thank you for writing in Ron. It seems like baby
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: number two is growing and healthy right now? Did he
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: say how far.
- 1:33:26Speaker 3: Along they were? It sounded like two months? Is that
- 1:33:30Speaker 3: what he had said at the very beginning? They found
- 1:33:35Speaker 3: out two months ago they're pregnant. Yeah?
- 1:33:38Speaker 2: Man, our uh, our thoughts and prayers are and positive
- 1:33:42Speaker 2: vibes are definitely with them.
- 1:33:44Speaker 3: I hope it does. Guys. I can only imagine, and.
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: God bless you both for staying strong and shifting that
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: perspective around. When you're getting news like that. I can
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: only imagine how angry it makes you. Thank you for sharing, bro, Yeah,
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: thank you for sharing. Thank you for starting to listen.
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: Thank you for feeling like you have a space to
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: write into the boys. I'm glad were we read this.
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: I hope you're listening to this right now, Ron, and
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: we do. Positive vibes, thoughts, prayers, all of it headed
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: your way you and your wife. I hope everything goes well.
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: I hope you're writing it again. One day with positive news.
- 1:34:19Speaker 10: Man.
- 1:34:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I cannot wait for that baby to come out
- 1:34:23Speaker 2: healthy and the heartbeat restores. On the other twin, I
- 1:34:26Speaker 2: can't wait to hear that news too. And for anyone
- 1:34:30Speaker 2: at home that's listening right now, there's also just going
- 1:34:33Speaker 2: through whatever any struggle. There are people out there, There
- 1:34:40Speaker 2: are people in your life that you can share that
- 1:34:43Speaker 2: stuff with. I think it's just really good to share
- 1:34:46Speaker 2: that stuff, to get it off your chest.
- 1:34:48Speaker 3: And thank you for sharing. What was his for saying
- 1:34:51Speaker 3: his name was Ron? Ron? His name is Ron. Thank
- 1:34:54Speaker 3: you so much, Ron, Because on that note too, like
- 1:34:56Speaker 3: you're to.
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: Your point, it's like they're so I'm sure people listening
- 1:34:59Speaker 1: right now going through or whether it's something similar loss
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: that they just went through, hope that they're trying to
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: cling to right now because of anger that might be happening.
- 1:35:08Speaker 3: So thank you man. Yeah, And I love at the
- 1:35:11Speaker 3: end too, he's.
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: Just bringing a little bit of bringing a little bit
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: of life, like we can laugh about a couple of
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: things like hey, Alipop, I thought it was gross, but
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: will you see I tried to Chris Bapple. God is
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: good in those in those RECs too. On Apple TV,
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: Big Apple TV Guy big Apple TV guy. By the way,
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: Terminal List, Hey, you guys would be proud of your boy.
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: I am ninety pages in really ninety pages in my
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: first fictional book of all.
- 1:35:38Speaker 3: Time, all time.
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: I've never written or I've never read a fictional book.
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: I'm mostly like a nonfiction guy, an adult to me,
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: it's got to make me better. Yeah, never, just like
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: I don't know, had my own time, had my own like,
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: let me just enjoy a book on my own. Yeah,
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: but I'm into it because I watched the TV series
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: on Prime but not nominal series again, strongly recommend Terminalist
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: Dark Wolf first, then going back to the twenty twenty
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: two original Terminal List, but knowing that I've seen it
- 1:36:09Speaker 1: and getting to read it, I am now seeing the
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: light on book readers who read the books then watch
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: the movies and the shows and like all the books
- 1:36:21Speaker 1: way better than you're kind of like this, shut up, like,
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: just enjoy the movie, but the detail, the amount of
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: detail and other things that the like Hollywood can't quite.
- 1:36:32Speaker 3: Fit in all of that. Yeah, I do see what
- 1:36:36Speaker 3: readers are saying and not saying.
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: I'm a reader now, but I started a book over
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: the weekend and your Boy is ninety pages in and
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: I have enjoyed it.
- 1:36:47Speaker 2: Revids me of Mark Wahlberg and the other guys, where'd
- 1:36:50Speaker 2: you learn to dance like that?
- 1:36:53Speaker 3: To make fun of the kids in the neighborhood dance?
- 1:36:57Speaker 3: I don't read? Hey, I'm not reader? All right? Read?
- 1:37:02Speaker 3: I posted that.
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: I posted the shout out to, uh, what's the jack car?
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: With the books and everything else? And the comments are
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: so funny, like how bummed were you when you realize
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: it wasn't a pop up book?
- 1:37:13Speaker 3: Yeah? No, like, oh, will you see it ain't a
- 1:37:16Speaker 3: picture book?
- 1:37:17Speaker 2: Bro? Oh, come on, when did you You can't read?
- 1:37:21Speaker 2: Those aren't peaching? I can read a couple of words.
- 1:37:25Speaker 2: And for any new listeners, Terminal List dark Wolf is
- 1:37:30Speaker 2: a prequel to Terminal Lists. Yes, yeah, if you're new tune,
- 1:37:35Speaker 2: if you're right now, if you listened to you know
- 1:37:37Speaker 2: it's ten thirty right now, if you listen to ninety
- 1:37:40Speaker 2: two hours and you're still with us.
- 1:37:43Speaker 3: I love the Terminal List. We love it.
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: Dark Wolf is the newest release. It is a prequel
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: to the twenty twenty two version. I highly encourage you
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: to start with that prequel. Start with sets up for a.
- 1:37:57Speaker 2: Spin at the end of I have to watch the
- 1:38:01Speaker 2: show because then you're you'll truly want to go to
- 1:38:04Speaker 2: lunch with me and probably.
- 1:38:05Speaker 3: Talk about it. Yeah, you ever take me to lunch?
- 1:38:08Speaker 3: Jesus truly.
- 1:38:09Speaker 1: I tried getting my shot him and text the other
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: night said I missed the teams And when he read
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: when he watches Terminalist, he knows he'll know what I'm
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: talking about because I'll just you know, Taylor Kitch just
- 1:38:19Speaker 1: randomly they're on the boat just having a beer, and
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: he's like, I missed the teams man, just the Navy
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: Seal team he was on that they were on together.
- 1:38:27Speaker 3: Here are you and the terminalists? Here? Do you resident badass?
- 1:38:34Speaker 4: Like you?
- 1:38:34Speaker 2: Of course I love to pride myself on badassy, But
- 1:38:38Speaker 2: we're not even fucking close to these guys.
- 1:38:43Speaker 3: These the Navy Seals. Man, they're at different breed, Like, these.
- 1:38:48Speaker 1: Guys are assassins the hell week that you learn about,
- 1:38:53Speaker 1: read about, hear about. You might see a YouTube video
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: and get a little motivated, like, but when you try
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: to act, actually get some context and try to actually
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: picture yourself in that world, they are different fucking animals.
- 1:39:08Speaker 2: A uh So, I went to school in San Diego
- 1:39:13Speaker 2: my freshman year. Uh and uh, the island Coronado, I believe.
- 1:39:18Speaker 1: Yeah, it's something like that and everything else that you
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: get to kind of go run and see. And when
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: we went to the Holiday Bowl up for San Diego,
- 1:39:25Speaker 1: we'd get that we got to go and like tour
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: that stuff and help around.
- 1:39:28Speaker 2: You got to go to the base on Point Loma,
- 1:39:31Speaker 2: which is where I went to school. And then there's
- 1:39:33Speaker 2: the island of Coronado where the Seals train. And I
- 1:39:36Speaker 2: was on Coronado Island and I saw the seals and
- 1:39:39Speaker 2: those aflatable inflatable kind of looking boats that you see
- 1:39:43Speaker 2: in the movies. And it just has the one mower
- 1:39:45Speaker 2: on the back, yeah, or the one motor on the back,
- 1:39:49Speaker 2: and all these boats take off, and this one boat
- 1:39:52Speaker 2: stops and it looks like complete engine failure. There's not
- 1:39:57Speaker 2: smoke coming out of it. But I just see this
- 1:39:59Speaker 2: one guy ripping this chord, ripping this cord. I'm talking
- 1:40:04Speaker 2: twenty minutes of him ripping this chord, with the guy
- 1:40:08Speaker 2: just in his ear yelling at him the entire time.
- 1:40:12Speaker 2: And he sat there for twenty minutes ripping that chord.
- 1:40:15Speaker 2: And finally the motor started back up and they went.
- 1:40:18Speaker 2: I was like, dude, I couldn't even do that ten times.
- 1:40:22Speaker 2: Think about ripping a boat motor for twenty minutes straight.
- 1:40:26Speaker 2: These guys are psychos, bro, they are in the best way.
- 1:40:30Speaker 3: Yeah, of course, and in a good way. Yeah. Well
- 1:40:31Speaker 3: you're asking me who do I picture myself as in
- 1:40:34Speaker 3: the show.
- 1:40:34Speaker 1: It's like I love to have fun about Chris Brad
- 1:40:36Speaker 1: or Taylor Kitsch, But dude, these these guys are different animals.
- 1:40:40Speaker 3: They are different. You're a different animal on PUBG though,
- 1:40:44Speaker 3: PUFFG we talking a bit of a bit of a
- 1:40:46Speaker 3: different game. Yeah, yeah, yeah, were talking about I'm a
- 1:40:49Speaker 3: warrior on you are, sir, I'm surgical. You are? You are?
- 1:40:55Speaker 2: Hey, don't kid yourself now, you can you sling some legs? Hey,
- 1:40:58Speaker 2: come on, You're only as good as you're Yeah, the
- 1:41:01Speaker 2: only good is your team. And we got a stream
- 1:41:03Speaker 2: for the ptsikos. I do have this email. This is
- 1:41:07Speaker 2: from Troy Johnson. Troy says, what Upfell is Troy from
- 1:41:11Speaker 2: North Carolina. I'm a two time PT sicko with a
- 1:41:15Speaker 2: three year old son and a one year old daughter.
- 1:41:19Speaker 2: I listened to the podcast every week and always pick
- 1:41:21Speaker 2: up something new. It's powerful hearing from other dads in
- 1:41:24Speaker 2: the trenches. In the trenches, embracing the suck and trying
- 1:41:28Speaker 2: to be intentional. I'm in the army, so I'm away
- 1:41:32Speaker 2: from home more than I'd like. A few weeks ago,
- 1:41:34Speaker 2: my son fell and hit his head on the arm
- 1:41:36Speaker 2: of a couch Friday night, right at bedtime, we made
- 1:41:41Speaker 2: the classic er run for a staple.
- 1:41:43Speaker 3: Good. He handled it like a champ. I cried more
- 1:41:47Speaker 3: than he did. Dude, I love that. That Monday, I
- 1:41:51Speaker 3: left the training knowing that.
- 1:41:52Speaker 2: The day I got home, the first thing I'd have
- 1:41:54Speaker 2: to do was take him back to have the staple removed.
- 1:41:57Speaker 2: After a week away, all I wanted was to walk
- 1:42:01Speaker 2: through the door to two screaming kids and my beautiful wife.
- 1:42:05Speaker 2: But in the back of my mind, I was dreading
- 1:42:07Speaker 2: another hospital trip. It breaks my heart to see fear
- 1:42:10Speaker 2: of pain in my kid's eyes. On the drive, I
- 1:42:13Speaker 2: threw on the podcast to finish the Shifting Your Perspective episode.
- 1:42:18Speaker 2: A few minutes in and Willy c Is talking about
- 1:42:20Speaker 2: exactly that perspective. Something clicked. Instead of thinking, man, I
- 1:42:24Speaker 2: just got out of the field and now I have
- 1:42:26Speaker 2: to take him straight to the doctor, I shifted it
- 1:42:28Speaker 2: to How lucky am I that I get to be
- 1:42:30Speaker 2: here for him when he needs me, mossed, I get
- 1:42:33Speaker 2: to comfort him when he's scared. I get to carry
- 1:42:35Speaker 2: some of the weight so my wife doesn't have to
- 1:42:37Speaker 2: do it alone. Today was a good day and once
- 1:42:40Speaker 2: again my son was a trooper. Ice Cream at ten
- 1:42:43Speaker 2: am on the way home was non negotiable. I'd be
- 1:42:47Speaker 2: remiss to not shout out my wife. She holds down
- 1:42:49Speaker 2: the house while I'm away off in solo and far
- 1:42:52Speaker 2: from family. She deserves a first round bid to the
- 1:42:56Speaker 2: Empty sixer Hall of Fame, coined and created by Troy Johnson.
- 1:43:01Speaker 2: She's the strongest woman I know. I'll leave you with
- 1:43:04Speaker 2: the dad hack Mary a partner who pushes you to
- 1:43:07Speaker 2: be the best version of yourself. Amen, brother, My only
- 1:43:10Speaker 2: real fear is that our kids are going to love
- 1:43:13Speaker 2: her way more than me, and honestly, I can't blame them.
- 1:43:16Speaker 2: The three of us are blessed to have her. Y'all
- 1:43:18Speaker 2: motivate me to be a better father and husband. Keep crying, boys,
- 1:43:21Speaker 2: PT six out.
- 1:43:22Speaker 3: That is awesome, bro, and amen to that dad hack?
- 1:43:26Speaker 3: What a dad hack? Dude?
- 1:43:28Speaker 1: What was repeat exactly what he said with the dad
- 1:43:31Speaker 1: hack like Mary a partner that pushes you.
- 1:43:33Speaker 2: Mary, a partner who pushes you to be the best
- 1:43:36Speaker 2: version of yourself.
- 1:43:37Speaker 1: And that partner again, when they're pushing you, it's gonna
- 1:43:39Speaker 1: pish you off a little bit. Oh when you have
- 1:43:41Speaker 1: that perspective, Oh you got a ride or die?
- 1:43:44Speaker 3: Amen to that.
- 1:43:45Speaker 1: And what it fires me up that he's able to shift,
- 1:43:49Speaker 1: you know, his perspective in times of like you know, thinking,
- 1:43:52Speaker 1: this dude's in the army. Yeah, like this dude's a
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: hero and to come home and shift back into dad life,
- 1:43:58Speaker 1: I can I can only imagine.
- 1:44:00Speaker 3: That's not easy. It's not easy, Like when.
- 1:44:02Speaker 1: You have a career and you're coming home after all
- 1:44:04Speaker 1: the stress that you're when you're thinking about a billion
- 1:44:06Speaker 1: different things and shifting back in the dead mode is
- 1:44:09Speaker 1: is a very hard thing to do, shifting back into
- 1:44:10Speaker 1: Mamo paramot whatever it is. It's always hard to do.
- 1:44:13Speaker 1: But it fires me up for him because that that
- 1:44:18Speaker 1: dude is a badass to the world.
- 1:44:21Speaker 3: And also like.
- 1:44:24Speaker 1: His kid, like he the kid is going to see
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: him like such a hero one day, and what a
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: position he's in to teach, whether it's resilience and toughness
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: because you know that's what he wants to.
- 1:44:35Speaker 3: Do with his boy.
- 1:44:36Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, he's ready to do all these things
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: where you see him hit the he's he hits his head,
- 1:44:42Speaker 1: he cries. You're probably you know, you were very masculine, man.
- 1:44:45Speaker 1: I assume he's as masculine as they come. But what
- 1:44:48Speaker 1: an opportunity and pocket he's going to be in when
- 1:44:50Speaker 1: those moments and lessons do come. When your boy feels
- 1:44:53Speaker 1: so safe and secure with you, like when you are,
- 1:44:56Speaker 1: you know, having kind of those positive disciplines, or or
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: him in a way to where you know, it's not
- 1:45:01Speaker 1: like soft and weak, but your dad like he feels
- 1:45:04Speaker 1: safe with you, and those moments where he has weakness
- 1:45:06Speaker 1: or wants to learn lessons, Like what better example to
- 1:45:10Speaker 1: learn from than somebody who's in the damn military, you
- 1:45:12Speaker 1: know what I mean.
- 1:45:13Speaker 3: It's just really cool.
- 1:45:14Speaker 1: It's cool to hear him write that in and talk
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: about kind of his perspective shift and everything else, because
- 1:45:18Speaker 1: I just I like to view it as he's going
- 1:45:20Speaker 1: to be in such a great spot when his kid
- 1:45:22Speaker 1: does need him for some real lessons that he will
- 1:45:24Speaker 1: be able to teach him like when those times come,
- 1:45:26Speaker 1: and just enjoying the moments he does get with him
- 1:45:28Speaker 1: because I don't know what is scheduling and everything else
- 1:45:31Speaker 1: is it's got to suck to be deployed. It's gotta
- 1:45:33Speaker 1: suck to, you know, have to leave your family. So
- 1:45:36Speaker 1: appreciate you writing that. In yeah, matter of fact, for
- 1:45:39Speaker 1: the for the lesson.
- 1:45:40Speaker 3: There's one that I was reading on again.
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: I've read the last couple of days from the Daily
- 1:45:45Speaker 1: Dad that I threw in my book marks. But it's
- 1:45:49Speaker 1: called the River of Change. And forgive me if I've
- 1:45:51Speaker 1: read this one before, but again, this is one that's
- 1:45:53Speaker 1: kind of came back around and to me kind of
- 1:45:56Speaker 1: like looking at it the last couple of days. It's
- 1:45:58Speaker 1: just it's been the one that's been in front of
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: my face. But it's called the River of the River
- 1:46:03Speaker 1: of Change. And this was supposted by the Daily Dad,
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: and this is advice from the parents Taw tay Ching.
- 1:46:11Speaker 1: You can get a copy from the bookstore Painted Porch bookshop.
- 1:46:16Speaker 1: But this one is called River of Change. The child
- 1:46:19Speaker 1: you see today will not be here tomorrow. The child
- 1:46:22Speaker 1: they arriving home from school is different from the one
- 1:46:24Speaker 1: who left from home this morning. Every moment is a
- 1:46:27Speaker 1: death of all that has gone before, and the birth
- 1:46:30Speaker 1: of all that is to come. You must jump into
- 1:46:32Speaker 1: the river and let it carry you on its journey.
- 1:46:34Speaker 1: If you try to stop it, you will drown. Now
- 1:46:37Speaker 1: that I'm reading that, part of me thinks I've read
- 1:46:39Speaker 1: that one before.
- 1:46:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think you have, okay, because it's an
- 1:46:44Speaker 2: awesome When I got in my bookmarks, which, by the way,
- 1:46:47Speaker 2: look at the boomer alert here, like the bookmark stuff
- 1:46:51Speaker 2: on social media that you can kind of file away
- 1:46:53Speaker 2: in a different little.
- 1:46:54Speaker 3: Yeah, different little subjects. You might be laughing.
- 1:46:57Speaker 1: You might be thinking that's a funny willism right there.
- 1:46:59Speaker 1: I don't know people on top of that, like, that's
- 1:47:01Speaker 1: something you should for sure tap into.
- 1:47:03Speaker 2: No, I was thinking about how I haven't gone into
- 1:47:05Speaker 2: my bookmarks folder in a while. I need to go
- 1:47:08Speaker 2: look and see what I have been bookmarking.
- 1:47:10Speaker 1: It's so great to kind of organize everything. It's like
- 1:47:14Speaker 1: I got stoicism ones. I got a children's bookmark thing.
- 1:47:17Speaker 3: You broke it down into different Yeah.
- 1:47:19Speaker 1: I got like I rehab one for my low back,
- 1:47:22Speaker 1: Like I got all these different little it's like my
- 1:47:24Speaker 1: pincher sport.
- 1:47:25Speaker 3: I love it. I uh, yeah, you'll laugh too. I
- 1:47:29Speaker 3: got so many on uh on X on Twitter, like
- 1:47:33Speaker 3: I got.
- 1:47:36Speaker 1: College football, NFL leadership for the dads, quotes, content ideas,
- 1:47:40Speaker 1: Nebraska receipts. I wish so many books, fatherhood stocks, diet movies.
- 1:47:49Speaker 2: I just want to be in Will Compton's brain for
- 1:47:51Speaker 2: just like thirty minutes. I just want to be in
- 1:47:54Speaker 2: your brain for thirty minutes. Oh, it's gonna be a
- 1:47:56Speaker 2: good some of the breakdowns of the social media stuff
- 1:47:59Speaker 2: that Will Will do with me of Insureman, I'm telling
- 1:48:02Speaker 2: I'm telling them this two weeks in advance because I
- 1:48:05Speaker 2: know the Broncos are playing the Chargers and what they're
- 1:48:08Speaker 2: gonna this is.
- 1:48:08Speaker 3: What they always do this and this is what they're
- 1:48:11Speaker 3: gonna do.
- 1:48:11Speaker 2: I'm gonna set them up for this, and then when
- 1:48:13Speaker 2: bow Nix ends up beating the Chargers, I already got
- 1:48:16Speaker 2: it ready for man, that's what I'm bringing out. And
- 1:48:18Speaker 2: I'm like, holy shit, Like he really is a sapont
- 1:48:22Speaker 2: with the social media stuff in a way of like,
- 1:48:25Speaker 2: how are you game planning this?
- 1:48:26Speaker 3: Two weeks out?
- 1:48:28Speaker 2: My bookmark list would be on the FBI watch list
- 1:48:32Speaker 2: from just all the memes that I bookmark, I'm like, oh,
- 1:48:35Speaker 2: that would be good.
- 1:48:35Speaker 3: Oh, that would be good.
- 1:48:37Speaker 1: I'll the memes and I'll say, and I'll just go
- 1:48:39Speaker 1: into my albums and move it to a memes a
- 1:48:42Speaker 1: memes out.
- 1:48:43Speaker 3: But that is smart to just bookmark have a I'm
- 1:48:45Speaker 3: gonna do that. That's easy.
- 1:48:50Speaker 2: That's a you're you're, you're weeding out two extra clicks. Yeah,
- 1:48:55Speaker 2: I have gotta file stuff away, gotta file stuff away.
- 1:48:58Speaker 2: I have a quote and I say one thing about Will's.
- 1:49:01Speaker 2: Have you ever heard of a guy named gaber Mate.
- 1:49:03Speaker 4: He's very famous, like philosopher recently, he does a lot
- 1:49:06Speaker 4: about the body and how it like it's not. He
- 1:49:09Speaker 4: didn't write the book he keeps score, but he was
- 1:49:11Speaker 4: on a podcast lately. He said something that no siblings
- 1:49:15Speaker 4: have the same childhood, and it's this thing that comes
- 1:49:18Speaker 4: out that like the children. It reminded me of what
- 1:49:20Speaker 4: you said about the child that you let go doesn't
- 1:49:23Speaker 4: come back the same way. And he said, it's very
- 1:49:25Speaker 4: important to remember that just because two kids grow up
- 1:49:27Speaker 4: in the same house, no they didn't like. The parents
- 1:49:28Speaker 4: treat them different, and what they come home to is different,
- 1:49:31Speaker 4: and the way things are different because of each other.
- 1:49:33Speaker 4: It just reminded me of that where like everything that
- 1:49:36Speaker 4: your child will do seems to like change them then
- 1:49:38Speaker 4: the person that.
- 1:49:39Speaker 3: You let go. It was just really cool. Yeah, send
- 1:49:41Speaker 3: me the clip.
- 1:49:42Speaker 1: That's always fascinating too, because like, you know, you'll grow
- 1:49:44Speaker 1: up in the household. I got two other brothers, Like
- 1:49:48Speaker 1: if some you know, if one does something out of
- 1:49:51Speaker 1: the ordinary, that's bizarre. It's like the parents are sitting
- 1:49:55Speaker 1: there talking like we all grew up in the same
- 1:49:57Speaker 1: damn house Like, how is so and so being this
- 1:50:01Speaker 1: way when we all came from the same damn household,
- 1:50:04Speaker 1: you know what I mean. But I'm also realizing that
- 1:50:07Speaker 1: too with Rue and Scottie. And again it's like going
- 1:50:10Speaker 1: to thinking of all the first you go through with
- 1:50:13Speaker 1: Rue and then all the things that Scotty's doing that
- 1:50:15Speaker 1: it was different than with Rue because Rue is our
- 1:50:19Speaker 1: only child at the time. To her trying, I'd be like, hey,
- 1:50:22Speaker 1: do we have the you know, the age appropriate toys
- 1:50:26Speaker 1: that Scotty could be playing with. Scotty's a minute, She's
- 1:50:28Speaker 1: all over the house, She's getting a cabine. She's all
- 1:50:30Speaker 1: a sweetheart, you can't be you can't be climbing all
- 1:50:32Speaker 1: over this guy. She'll be grabbing all the ollipops that
- 1:50:35Speaker 1: are on the lower shelf in the pantry and she'll
- 1:50:37Speaker 1: just be knocking them all off. She got in the
- 1:50:38Speaker 1: water bowl again today and she's just everywhere, and I'm
- 1:50:43Speaker 1: just like, do we not we got toys, but I'm thinking, like, oh,
- 1:50:46Speaker 1: have we dug in and got the right ones? Because
- 1:50:47Speaker 1: when it was just Rue, It's like we were both
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: so intentional with Ru and all the stuff that she
- 1:50:54Speaker 1: was doing to keep her occupied and giving her attention
- 1:50:56Speaker 1: and everything else. Not saying we don't give Scotty attention,
- 1:50:59Speaker 1: but it reminds us that, like, hey, like we had
- 1:51:02Speaker 1: all this certain time that we spent with Rue, Like
- 1:51:04Speaker 1: we need to be making sure that we're doing the
- 1:51:06Speaker 1: same stuff with Scotty and the same excitement and the
- 1:51:08Speaker 1: same everything else, because they're gonna grow from a lens
- 1:51:10Speaker 1: of Rue is always the first child, and they're going
- 1:51:14Speaker 1: to be seeing us experiencing first with Rue, and then
- 1:51:18Speaker 1: if we have a lapse, or we have a few
- 1:51:19Speaker 1: lapses with her, that will like subconsciously be in her
- 1:51:23Speaker 1: brain of that whole second child syndrome that I feel
- 1:51:25Speaker 1: like evolves over time that if you're not sitting there
- 1:51:28Speaker 1: watering the plant kind of the same way It's not
- 1:51:30Speaker 1: like we're wanting them to be the same, but it's
- 1:51:31Speaker 1: almost like as parents being very aware that you want
- 1:51:36Speaker 1: to kind of have the similar reactions experiences, things that
- 1:51:39Speaker 1: you're doing with Scotty, like when she gets old enough,
- 1:51:42Speaker 1: like you know, taking the rule on lunch states, but
- 1:51:44Speaker 1: making sure I take it's just me and Scotti and
- 1:51:46Speaker 1: Mom has time with just Scotty to it doesn't seem
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: like Rue's the leader of the whole thing, and Scotty
- 1:51:51Speaker 1: just kind of fits in with us.
- 1:51:52Speaker 3: Yeah, you know what I mean. You bringing that up.
- 1:51:55Speaker 1: It's like that's always a very fascinating thing to think
- 1:51:57Speaker 1: about because I think of my household. When something goes
- 1:51:59Speaker 1: sideways with any of us, it's like, it's just crazy
- 1:52:02Speaker 1: because we all grew up in the same household. We
- 1:52:04Speaker 1: feel like you grew up in the same discipline X, Y,
- 1:52:06Speaker 1: and Z. And now that I have my two kiddos
- 1:52:09Speaker 1: and I'm almost putting myself in the shoes of Scotti.
- 1:52:11Speaker 1: A lot of times I think of my younger brothers
- 1:52:13Speaker 1: on like, oh, I could see how some of this
- 1:52:16Speaker 1: stuff kind of shaped who they were. When I'm the
- 1:52:19Speaker 1: oldest brother and they always talk about like, you know,
- 1:52:22Speaker 1: first child syndromes all that stuff.
- 1:52:24Speaker 3: You feel like you're the more responsible one. You feel
- 1:52:26Speaker 3: like all these.
- 1:52:27Speaker 1: Different pressures that the first child has. Then you feel
- 1:52:29Speaker 1: like the youngest one. Oh dude, you have a so
- 1:52:31Speaker 1: easy mom and dad never cared about blah blah blah.
- 1:52:34Speaker 3: You got to do X, Y and Z other time.
- 1:52:35Speaker 3: They weren't a strict on you.
- 1:52:37Speaker 1: And then probably from their vantage point, they have a
- 1:52:39Speaker 1: much different lens of like, yeah, but you were taken
- 1:52:42Speaker 1: care of the absolute most. They checked in on you
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: the most and didn't care as much about me. That
- 1:52:47Speaker 1: might be their story they tell them. Whether it was
- 1:52:49Speaker 1: the reality or not is whatever, But just constantly like
- 1:52:53Speaker 1: thinking about those things like when you have multiple children.
- 1:52:56Speaker 1: Now that I have too, I'm like very much, Hey, Scotty,
- 1:53:00Speaker 1: make sure like we're just as you know, give her
- 1:53:04Speaker 1: this not like the same amount of attention, but you're
- 1:53:06Speaker 1: giving her that intentional time all the time because.
- 1:53:09Speaker 3: She we got a little try before now.
- 1:53:11Speaker 2: Yeah, And I mean it will be different naturally too,
- 1:53:14Speaker 2: just from their DNA makeup of like you know, Rue
- 1:53:19Speaker 2: might go lean super heavy into the arts stuff. Scotty
- 1:53:23Speaker 2: might be the sick oh soccer player and she's got
- 1:53:26Speaker 2: her soccer set. I like, yeah, everything will paint its
- 1:53:30Speaker 2: own picture. But I know exactly what you mean of
- 1:53:34Speaker 2: just like my brother wasn't allowed to watch PG thirteen
- 1:53:37Speaker 2: until he was thirteen. And then my mom comes home
- 1:53:40Speaker 2: and I'm six years old on the couch with my
- 1:53:42Speaker 2: dad watching Gladiator. She's like, what do you what are
- 1:53:45Speaker 2: you doing? And he's like, it's this great.
- 1:53:47Speaker 3: Movie, Like, what do you mean? What am I doing?
- 1:53:51Speaker 3: It's funny, It's funny. Yeah, yeah, I have I have
- 1:53:55Speaker 3: a quick quote.
- 1:53:57Speaker 2: You read one from C. S. Lewis last week. I
- 1:54:00Speaker 2: have one from his good friend J. R. Or Tolkien,
- 1:54:04Speaker 2: who's one of my faves. This was a letter that
- 1:54:07Speaker 2: Tolkien Ritt wrote to his son Christopher, and it's just
- 1:54:12Speaker 2: a quote about fatherhood. He says, a man who is
- 1:54:15Speaker 2: wise and can and good can learn from his own children.
- 1:54:21Speaker 2: And a parent's task is not to dominate, but to guide,
- 1:54:26Speaker 2: to help them grow straight, but not to force them
- 1:54:29Speaker 2: into any shape. I just like that whole idea of, like,
- 1:54:36Speaker 2: you know, not trying to force some kind of idea
- 1:54:39Speaker 2: or some kind of way they need to be, and
- 1:54:42Speaker 2: you just kind of let them go. It's like the
- 1:54:46Speaker 2: horse trainer guy that we talked about in that video,
- 1:54:49Speaker 2: like there's some similarities with training or breaking a horse
- 1:54:54Speaker 2: and then also like raising a child as.
- 1:54:57Speaker 3: Well being next to them.
- 1:54:58Speaker 1: Yeah, be next to yeah Yeah, I like that one.
