Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to OnlyFin's Q&A Live, a question and answer show as exclusive to OnlyFin's.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: And Miami Dawkins Discord server.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: Now here's your host.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: Out!
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: And we're on, this is only Finns Q&A Live for May the 4th, 2026, and we're barreling toward the barren landscape that is the off-season in the NFL.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_00]: It's usually right around now until about July 1st, we're pretty much nothing happens.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_00]: But we're going to try to get you through it here on our Discord, and I'm only in skew in a live.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_00]: If you want to participate in these shows, you want to ask questions live on the show.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_00]: You could go toward Discord and to do that, you go to discord.gg forward slash only friends and join their all access for 499 a month.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: If you want to do the read only, it's 299 a month.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_00]: 299 that stop avoid the Apple upcharges.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_00]: I always put a link to every single one of these and every single one of our promotions.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_00]: All right, a lot of video being released lately.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: They show a video of that trade that the dolphins made and the first round with Dallas Cowboys.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: And here's the thing, a lot of people are like, oh, you know, this seems odd.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they're only gonna show you 31% of, of, I mean, 31 seconds of what actually transpired.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: If you notice, they took the entire clock down.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: Those trades come about with a lot of assurances.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: Trust me, if Miami wanted to take Caleb Downs, they wouldn't have traded that pick.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I'm told that they did consider Caleb Downs.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: I'm told that they did not consider Ruben Bane Junior.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: But they did consider Caleb Downs, but it's the difference between liking and loving a player.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: You like a player, but you don't necessarily love the player.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'll take two fifth on picks to just take the guy that I want to take anyway, which is Kate and Proctor.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so the way that those trades come about is there's a lot of assurances made Like Dallas is gonna call remember there's just one spot.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_00]: They're moving up a spot.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: They're not jumping anybody else So they call my M in they say hey
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: Remember there is no danger here if they're going to take them to take them to take them if they're going to take kill up down, they're going to take a kill up down.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: So you call and you say, if you're the cowboys, hey, we're thinking about moving up here a spot into your spot.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: And the cowboys don't necessarily have to tell you who they're moving up for, right?
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: And the dolphins are the ones that have to ask questions.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: The dolphins need to ask.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: First of all, is their board strong enough that if they do get, you know, the team you just traded with, did take your guy.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: Are you in a position where you're left barren like your, your board is a mess now because you, you just traded out of the position.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: No, it doesn't work that way.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_00]: Like, there's going to be, uh, some assurances made.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: And if the guy was refused to say anything, you probably not going to cut a deal, but right there is usually when the guy was saying, look, we want to take kill-downs with this pick.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: And that's when you start negotiating the deal, whether or not how they say, oh, we want to take Kate and Proctor with this pick, does Miami make the trade?
- 3:41[SPEAKER_00]: I'm guessing probably not, right?
- 3:43[SPEAKER_00]: Like I think that's probably the case, they don't make the trade.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: I think Kate and Proctor was the guy that they wanted.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: So, that's the way those deals get made, but it's pretty cool that all of these things were, that these videos have, well, there were like, released, widely released, and it's pretty interesting that you're getting a pretty good peak into what happens on draft day.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, they did cut out one part of that.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_00]: Both teams call the league office to confirm the trade.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_00]: So if I call you and I say look it's 12 for for I mean it's 11 for 12 177 and 180.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: I write that down.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_00]: I call in to the league office.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: I say look we're trading 11.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: They're trading us back 12 177 and 180.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: Then the cab was called and they say the same thing.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: If they both match meaning both phone calls match the trade gets registered with the league office and it goes down.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: And that's how trade is is consummated in the NFL.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_00]: And it was pretty cool that that video got released.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: Any other news as far as this week?
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: Well, there was some pretty big news.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: Stephen Ross kind of kind of let it out of you know let the cat out of the bag that the NFL had basically told him that hard rock stadium does not meet the requirements to host a Super Bowl.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: Now what does that mean?
- 5:20[SPEAKER_00]: Well as far as I can tell hard rock stadium has already hosted in the last 18 months, 19 NFL and college games, the national championship game,
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: I think two friendlies, they've hosted right outside of hard rock stadium F1, they've hosted the Miami open, and the summer they're going to host a fee for World Cup, they're going to have a group there at hard rock stadium.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_00]: So what does it mean that they can't handle a Super Bowl, like I've
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: I don't understand what that means.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: I've asked around and I'm getting very vague answers.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: One is the space around the stadium is just not accessible for all the things that the Super Bowl wants to do, what the NFL wants to do for the Super Bowl and the other excuse I've been given is that there's a deficiency in hotel rooms around hard rock stadium that you have to go too far of a distance.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: like like first of all you have you have the hard rock it's not that far off and it's kind of branded with the hotel right so it's the same people on the hotel named the the stadium so it's like perfect synergy there's plenty of hotel rooms around there like right down pine's boulevard there's maybe 15 mariaz courtyard by mariaz there's I think two
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: There's plenty of hotels like we're not talking about five star accommodations, but they don't have to be five star accommodations.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: These are like pretty legit four star places like that can say that so I really don't understand what that means, but we do know this once you're told hey.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_00]: You do not meet the requirement for the Super Bowl.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_00]: They usually put you on a waiting list that lasts about 10 years.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: So the year is 2026 right now.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_00]: Meaning that the first year they will be under consideration to host the Super Bowl will be 2036.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's unfortunate that Miami will not host this, I don't understand what that, I understand what it is.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: For whatever reason, and there's been plenty of reasons for Stephen Ross to give to the commissioner to not necessarily like them all that much, namely the tampering charges.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: a couple of years ago that cost Miami a first and the third rompick lawsuit from Brian Flores the whole mess around Brian Flores that caused Brian Flores to sue have to leak so my name does not have favorite nation status let's just say with the commissioner of the NFL so if you've ever wondered why Miami sometimes seems to get the short end of the stick as far scheduling is concerned
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: Well, Miami stopped and this is like, you know, I, this is on pretty good information.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: Miami stopped about three years ago making requests, two years ago, I'm sorry.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: About two years ago, making requests on their schedule, they rarely get anything granted.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: there's also very little evidence that anybody in the NFL actually gets their requests granted but they do log them like everybody in the NFL usually makes a request here or there what can the request be it's not hey you know give me an easier schedule it's usually look this date we kind of need open because maybe the stadium has I don't know has a monster truck event
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: Or, you know, in my image case, there's sometimes going to want, look, the hurricane's play on Saturday night.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: And you got us scheduled for Sunday at at one.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_00]: Like, this is a tough turnaround.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_00]: Can you move that game?
- 9:13[SPEAKER_00]: Like, it could be a simple request like that.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: Other requests concern, you know, hey, we want a money-night football game, or we want a Thursday-night football game.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_00]: Or we want a Sunday-night football game.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_00]: I know that Miami for a while was requesting a Sunday-night football game, and didn't get one for a period of a while.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_00]: Well, six years or something like that.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: It was a long time.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: So...
- 9:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they're not going to be doing that anytime soon.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_00]: It was a big, I believe it was two years ago where they made the decision that they're no longer going to make any requests of the league.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_00]: And like I said, it's not that they get grinded anyway.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_00]: So these are not things that actually happen from year to year.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_00]: All right, we're going to go to break and when we come back, we will take your questions.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_00]: But first, these words.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: All right, and we're back.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_00]: All right, let's take your your questions in the chat on a lazy Monday afternoon in May.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_00]: All right, first question.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_00]: Do you foresee us not carrying a fullback this year?
- 10:16[SPEAKER_00]: Look, it seems like they won't, right?
- 10:18[SPEAKER_00]: It seems like they're not going to carry a fullback.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: They don't have one on the roster right now.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_00]: Several players that they can use in that regard.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think once they drafted Kismaric, Wilkes Merrick, I think that's them tipping their hand that he's going to be serving in that role.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: He can play in line.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: He can play in 12 personnel.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_00]: He's obviously going to be in 13 personnel in a big, big part of it.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_00]: He's the White Titan.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_00]: He's the move, Titan.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he's going to be an H-Spack.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be, he's probably going to be the fullback.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_00]: Wolkaz America is a really, really good blocker.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: And that's who I foresee taking care of those duties this year.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: As far as a traditional fullback, I don't think they're doing that this year.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_00]: Alright, let me get to your next question.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: Have we get a little bit more on the chat that'd be good?
- 11:10[SPEAKER_00]: If you were to guess the final six wide receivers, who do you think?
- 11:14[SPEAKER_00]: Good question.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_00]: Well, Malik seems like a lot, right?
- 11:19[SPEAKER_00]: Caledoglas and Crispell, their locks.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_00]: That's three, Talbert four.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_00]: Then it gets tight, right?
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: Like who's five, who's six?
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: I already said Malik, Malik, the two draft picks, this Kevin Coleman getting, maybe.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_00]: So we got Talbert, Malik, this book Kevin Coleman in there, the two draft picks in the third round.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: That's five, who is six?
- 11:47[SPEAKER_00]: Who is six?
- 11:51[SPEAKER_00]: I don't go off the board here, although it could be, it could be ties, Washington.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't go off the board here, and I don't say a terrorist marshal gets a long look.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm going to go a terrorist marshal.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if I'm missing anybody here.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_00]: Let me look at the Dolphins Dept.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_00]: Really quick, because they might be just pretty much defined once you look at it.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I'm figuring Malik is a lock.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_00]: He's cost-controlled, right?
- 12:24[SPEAKER_00]: But I didn't mention two-twatt workers.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_00]: I believe it's probably expendable.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_00]: But let's keep two-twatt well in there, right?
- 12:30[SPEAKER_00]: So let's say, because of experience.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_00]: Jaylin Tolbert, two-twatt well, Malik Washington.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_00]: That's three.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_00]: The other three draft picks are Chris Bell, Caleb Douglas, Kevin Coleman.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_00]: That's your six, man.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_00]: That's your six right there.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_00]: The three draft picks and the three incumbents.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_00]: Those are your six.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_00]: Next question.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_00]: What do you think the starting offensive line will be day one barring injuries?
- 13:02[SPEAKER_00]: I think Kayden Proctor starts to left guard, Patrick Paul, if Tackle, Brewer at Center, Jonas of Ainea at right guard and Austin Jackson at right tackle.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_00]: I think Salir will be the top guy at both Tackle spots, really, and at guard.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that's what they're looking at.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_00]: And DJ Campbell is probably your seventh or eighth offensive lineman.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_00]: Um, next question, if they power left, run, if they power run over and over, uh, definitely stop to the guys that large with new blocking tight ends, I guess it's an argument for power running game, uh, the problem is that teams will, we'll get you out of that.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_00]: Not by front, but by run blitzes, it's not about getting three or four yards consistently, it's that you're likely to take a three-yard loss eventually, if team's time of blitz on you.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_00]: So they can't be, I heard somebody say a 600-carry team, they can't be a 600-carry team.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_00]: It's just not possible.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_00]: you could be a 400-carrying and that would, you know, that's, that's running the ball considerably a lot.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_00]: Next question, Jacob seems the meaning Jacob Rodriguez seems like a Zac Thomas clone.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_00]: How close do you think he might be an instinct and talent?
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: I'm both pretty close.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_00]: He's slightly bigger than Zac Thomas was.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_00]: Zac Thomas was 5-11, but 232.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_00]: Jacob is a little taller and about the same height.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_00]: I mean the same weight.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_00]: as far as talent and speed, Jacob Rodriguez has pretty much the same measurables, physical measurables as ZAC Thomas, ZAC Thomas is a pretty speedy guy coming out of Texas tech.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_00]: And instinct, I think that's where they both thrive, right?
- 14:54[SPEAKER_00]: The only fear is that ZAC Thomas was basically undistructable.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_00]: I don't, did he ever take a major entry with Miami?
- 15:04[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he ever did.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_00]: I think he had a hand string entry one time to had him sideline for a couple of games.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_00]: I think that was it.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_00]: Extremely durable.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_00]: Jacob Rodriguez is not that.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_00]: Jacob Rodriguez has had some injuries, and that's the only concern I have about him going forward.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_00]: Next question, what do you think the big surprise will be this season from the new coach?
- 15:27[SPEAKER_00]: For us to enjoy his fans.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_00]: Look, I think it's a possibility that this could be a really, really rough season.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_00]: But there's also the possibility that this surprises, right?
- 15:38[SPEAKER_00]: And I guess the big surprise would be that they make it into December with a shout-out to playoffs.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_00]: And they win something like eight games.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_00]: And if they do that,
- 15:48[SPEAKER_00]: Look, it's hard to give the coach of the year award to somebody that wins a games, right?
- 15:55[SPEAKER_00]: But considering what the media has done and talked about this team, this whole off season.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_00]: Why not?
- 16:04[SPEAKER_00]: If he does when it games, he probably does deserve coach of the year.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_00]: So I guess that would be the biggest surprise that you can get this coming season.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_00]: Next question, what ever happened to the AJ Penisa visit?
- 16:16[SPEAKER_00]: He did come, he came by, I don't, obviously it didn't come to an agreement.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's something that they will revisit before training camp once again.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_00]: And you continue to ask, do you think that's something they'll pursue?
- 16:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I do believe so.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_00]: They'll pursue something like that.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_00]: All right, next question.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_00]: Alf can you explain what the under means?
- 16:41[SPEAKER_00]: I don't understand what this question means.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_00]: The under means on a horse racing suggesting, I don't understand what that means.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_00]: what the under means.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what that means.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_00]: Next question, do you think we will be truly, truly above average in Russian, ground and pound?
- 16:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I think there'll be a better, there'll be a better running team this year than they were last year.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_00]: And that same something because Devon HN had a very, very good season last year.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_00]: And now you're wondering, well, the one-seven games, so does that mean that they're going to be a lot better this year?
- 17:16[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to wait eight and nine games?
- 17:17[SPEAKER_00]: Not necessarily because even though you may think that two of wasn't good last year, and he wasn't The offense was very high functioning for a couple of games last year, and the defense was very very good And this defense seems like one that's gonna ease into place So you could be way behind the A-ball to start the season and it's a young team, so We shall see
- 17:41[SPEAKER_00]: But as far as being a better running team, they should be.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_00]: John will improve back to the right side.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_00]: He should.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_00]: That's where he played before.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_00]: Next question.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_00]: What do you think are defensive style will be and how will the defensive line be formed?
- 17:57[SPEAKER_00]: On the second part, you have to see training camp to see who's in what rotation.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_00]: As far as defense is starting to play a lot of zone, and I've explained this before, some teams like last year, and then we were as defense would start in two high shells, and then move into other coverages.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think this team was going to do the opposite.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_00]: I think this team is going to be in exotic coverages and then get into two high shells.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_00]: All right, all right, somebody just posted what I met.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, what I put underneath, but what I put for the Contacter was just the the pace projector is just just just tells you how the play how the the horses were going to get out of the gate and where they were going to place Coming out of the gate.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_00]: So it's just gonna tell you who's making the pace who's stalking who's a closer
- 18:46[SPEAKER_00]: etc.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_00]: And when I wrote about playing horses underneath, I meant horses they would put below the my pick which was Potente.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_00]: The horses would put behind them for exactus, trifectus, superfectus etc.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_00]: All right, next question is Sealer here to end of the season.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_00]: I have my doubts on that.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think that he's a guy that they could move during training camp and
- 19:17[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, as Taj Washington told, yeah, I think so.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, we kind of went over the, went over it and that's pretty much what we got.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_00]: When you have taken a flyer on the Nigerian player, the international player over the brick that we got, well, you know, it's kind of damning that the Eagles were the ones who took them, right?
- 19:39[SPEAKER_00]: Because they've done something like that before.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_00]: They're all pro-left tackle, Jordan Manilada had never played football as well.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_00]: And now he's an all-time, he's an all-pro, a left tackle multi-time all-pro.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_00]: Alright next question, so I don't know, but I do like the guy that we got I don't think he's gonna play this year, but I think he's a nice stash for next year for 2027 Next question, what do you think there was such a negative pushback initially on the Caleb Douglas pick?
- 20:11[SPEAKER_00]: Well, because the consensus boards people really really put a lot of stock in those
- 20:16[SPEAKER_00]: And I'll do the put a lot of stock in those consensus boards, but a lot of people do mock drafts.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_00]: And they kept seeing the kind of Doug was going the fifth, six round.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_00]: So then you take them at the top of the third round and people start wondering like what the hell of these people doing, right?
- 20:29[SPEAKER_00]: So it's basically a product of what people learn from doing mocks.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_00]: uh... for the z-roll he was as productive as any receiver in the draft from yet i completely agree big was bigger receivers with with sub-forces forty were pretty much Douglas Brazel and hurts and reports are out at the others weren't good blockers yes uh... killed a killed Douglas had some
- 20:55[SPEAKER_00]: not off the field, but some speculation on as far as his work ethic, which is pretty damning as well.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_00]: And look, I understand that Colonel Tate was the second best player, the second best wide receiver for Ohio State.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, the first best player, the first best receiver for Iowa State, Steve or my Smith, and he's going to be a top three pick next year, right?
- 21:21[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of people look like Doug is like he was the second best wide receiver on his own team, Texas Tech.
