- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Hi. It's Adam here, and you're about
- 0:41to listen to a hypnosis session all about getting over a past
- 0:46relationship. Now, it doesn't matter if a past
- 0:50relationship was four days ago, 4 weeks ago, or even 4 years
- 0:54ago. What really makes a difference
- 0:57is not how long ago it was, but the emotional attachment and
- 1:01the. Type of thinking that goes on.
- 1:04And for a lot of people that are still trying to get over a
- 1:08previous relationship, quite often they will take a first
- 1:11person perspective when they go back to memories.
- 1:14So memories that might have. Been.
- 1:15Weeks or months ago they're. Reliving them.
- 1:19And then there's a feeling of contrasting those relived
- 1:22memories with the present, which feels very different.
- 1:26And that might. Link to a feeling of loss.
- 1:28Or frustration or a. Contrast if if they were joyful
- 1:32moments, feeling unhappy in contrast.
- 1:35All of this is very natural, but it doesn't have to take a long
- 1:39time. Some people can end a
- 1:42relationship on one day and as far as they're concerned, the
- 1:46moment that relationship is over.
- 1:48It's over and it's. Almost like it happened but it
- 1:51doesn't emotionally affect them. In the present.
- 1:54And that doesn't mean that these people are robots, or kind of.
- 1:57They don't have. Emotions.
- 1:59It just means that there is a. Way of thinking.
- 2:02About the relationship which enables them to.
- 2:04Move on quickly. Other people might reminisce and
- 2:09get nostalgic and connect to certain emotions.
- 2:13Again and again. And sometimes.
- 2:16The breakup can mirror the grief cycle, where there's an element
- 2:20of bargaining. Of.
- 2:22If only I didn't say that I should never have done that, you
- 2:25know, and and almost like replaying history to see if that
- 2:29would have changed. Things.
- 2:31But the purpose of that is not to punish yourself, or even to
- 2:35change the past. It's to extract wisdom that
- 2:38might be useful for the future, and not just for a future
- 2:41relationship. It might be that there are
- 2:43things that you can refine and evolve in you that have nothing
- 2:47to do with a relationship but just enhance the quality of your
- 2:50life. There might be certain
- 2:52characteristics or the client I was working with, for example,
- 2:56very quick to come to a judgement, to come to a
- 2:59conclusion without gathering all the information first.
- 3:03That's excellent wisdom to extract from that relationship.
- 3:07It doesn't necessarily mean that that can only be applied in a
- 3:10future relationship. Seeing the Shades of Grey,
- 3:13seeing the nuance, taking an element of empathy and other
- 3:17people's perspective is all very useful refinements anyway to
- 3:21make them more compassionate, understanding and be able to
- 3:26connect in a real way. There's a bit going on here, but
- 3:30at its core this involves an element of sub modalities of
- 3:35really putting the past behind them.
- 3:37Not just metaphorically, but shifting the location of that to
- 3:41use parts therapy to acknowledge that there was a positive
- 3:44intention behind this constant thinking of the relationship
- 3:48without needing to be attached to it.
- 3:50And then creating a compelling vision of the future where they
- 3:53imagined themselves improving as a result of this relationship,
- 3:57but also that they are receptive and open to a relationship if
- 4:01the right relationship comes along.
- 4:03You might resonate or connect with some of these suggestions,
- 4:06not necessarily all of them because it was created for an
- 4:10individual client with individual circumstances.
- 4:14Ignore any suggestions that aren't quite right.
- 4:16Lean into the ones that are. And if you do like the idea of a
- 4:20bespoke. Session.
- 4:21Curated and collated and tailored exactly to you and your
- 4:25situation. There will be a link in the
- 4:27description where you can schedule a completely free
- 4:29consultation call. For now though.
- 4:32Find a quiet, comfortable place where you won't be distracted or
- 4:35disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 4:59Take a deep. Breath in, and as you breathe
- 5:06in, breathe in that resourceful feeling of calm and relaxation.
- 5:16Breathing in relaxation and as you exhale, feel that wonderful
- 5:25feeling of release, as if any tension, stress or worries just
- 5:34starting to leave your body every time you exhale.
- 5:46That's it. And now take a slow breath in
- 5:51through the nose and gently exhale, this time through the
- 5:57mouth and again breathing in calm and breathing out anything
- 6:08you no longer need to carry. With each breath your body
- 6:16remembers how to relax, and in doing so your shoulders loosen,
- 6:25your jaw relaxes and your mind doesn't need to do any hard work
- 6:35right now. Nothing to fix, nothing to
- 6:44analyse, just allowing yourself to be here, to be fully present.
- 6:55And as your body settles, your mind can drift and wander
- 7:02comfortably, naturally, into that receptive, reflective
- 7:11state. And I want you to hold perhaps
- 7:17an image, a name, an idea of that past.
- 7:23Relationship but place it. Somewhere behind you.
- 7:31Not close and not overwhelming. Simply behind because I know
- 7:43you've been reliving that relationship, playing out all of
- 7:49the what ifs. What if I did that?
- 7:54I should have done that, but that means it's still in the
- 7:57present or in front. There's a place, any words,
- 8:04images, memories behind you. You're not inside it and you're
- 8:11certainly not reliving it. I want you to feel.
- 8:17That you are. Observing it from a place of
- 8:21safety perspective and time. And you've done that before.
- 8:29Something happened way, way back and you could think about it
- 8:35knowing that it is in your past. And the point of thinking about
- 8:41it is not to change the past, but to change the future.
- 8:49So when you think of that relationship all the way back
- 8:54behind you in your past, notice something feels different.
- 9:04When you are. No longer in an experience, it
- 9:09empowers you to learn from it, to gently bring your attention
- 9:19inward. Now maybe the pace, the rhythm
- 9:24of your breathing, a subtle pulse or heartbeat.
- 9:30And as you bring the intention inwards, I want you to notice
- 9:36that somewhere inside you is a part.
- 9:42A part of you that keeps thinking about that past
- 9:48relationship and it's not because it wants pain, I think
- 9:55it's because it wants clarity, safety and meaning.
- 10:03And what if this part. Believed that holding on might
- 10:08protect you, might help you understand, might prevent future
- 10:15hurt. I want you to get a sense that
- 10:20the point of a regret is not to punish, not as a tool to judge
- 10:29yourself, but as a way that you can extract the value of that
- 10:35regret, to make refinements, adjustments within you.
- 10:43So acknowledge that art that has been thinking back with kindness
- 10:49rather than judgement. You don't need to judge that
- 10:54part. You can empathize with it.
- 10:59And imagine acknowledging and then saying to that part, thank
- 11:05you for trying to help understand that it has positive
- 11:13intention. And then scan for a different
- 11:17part because somewhere else inside you, it's a part that is
- 11:24ready to move forward, a part that wants peace, openness, fun,
- 11:34emotional freedom. And this new part knows.
- 11:40That your future. Deserves your energy more than
- 11:44your past and both parts have wonderful intentions.
- 11:52And what if they simply need an update?
- 11:59I want you to imagine stepping into the role of your wisest
- 12:03self all knowing. Some people would call it the
- 12:10Super consciousness, the higher self, but just know it as your
- 12:17wisest part, the version of you that has grown through
- 12:22reflection, time and insight. Imagine speaking through the
- 12:32voice of your wiser self, and from this part you can
- 12:38communicate to both parts. To the part holding on to the
- 12:45past, you were right to seek understanding, and now the
- 12:54understanding is complete and to that part ready to move forward.
- 13:06You don't need to reject the past to be free of it.
- 13:11It's possible to carry wisdom without carrying weight, shame
- 13:17or judgement. Perhaps you can already notice
- 13:23how both parts begin to relax because the the role, the job
- 13:31has changed and now allow the lessons of the past to surface.
- 13:42You already know what they are to be less judge mental.
- 13:51They're not to jump to conclusions.
- 13:56So allow those lessons to bubble up to the surface, not as
- 14:01criticism and not as regrets, but as quiet, integrated wisdom.
- 14:15You learned that life is not black and white.
- 14:20You learned that it's layered, contextual, human, every
- 14:27possible shade of grey. And you learn to be more
- 14:33flexible, more trusting, and more willing to give the benefit
- 14:40of the doubt. Maybe you learned that empathy
- 14:47creates understanding, and that understanding creates
- 14:54connection. And what if you learned that
- 14:59jumping to conclusions narrows reality while curiosity expands
- 15:07it? Suspending judgement until you
- 15:14have all the information from all sides?
- 15:20That's not weak. It takes courage to not know
- 15:27what's what to figure it out like a detective.
- 15:32And what if you no longer need certainty to feel safe and that
- 15:43you now trust the nuance? Children like to watch a movie
- 15:52and know someone is good and someone is bad.
- 15:58But as we get older we see everything is yin and Yang.
- 16:06There is good in the bad and bad in the good and everything in
- 16:10between, and allow yourself to see the nuance, the Shades of
- 16:17Grey and what. If in those shades, you.
- 16:22Find the balance and instead of right or wrong.
- 16:31What? If you look for look for
- 16:35emotional payouts, intrigue, interest, far and excitement
- 16:43instead of good or bad opportunities to learn.
- 16:49So now let. This truth?
- 16:51Settle deeply. You are not worse off because of
- 16:57that relationship. You are much, much wiser.
- 17:03Because of it. Not hardened, not closed, but
- 17:10certainly more discerning. You understand yourself more
- 17:16clearly now, and you recognize emotional patterns sooner.
- 17:23And you know what alignment feels like in your body.
- 17:29And what if that relationship didn't take something from you?
- 17:35What if it refined you? And as all.
- 17:40Of this wisdom plus more integrates.
- 17:45You may notice a natural easing, loosening, releasing, not
- 17:55forgetting and not erasing, simply releasing what no longer
- 18:04needs to be carried. Feel that sense of detachment.
- 18:11The emotional charge dissolves, the attachment detaches, and the
- 18:21past becomes the past. It no longer pulls at you, no
- 18:29longer asks for your attention. The past has already given you
- 18:34what you needed opportunity to reflect, to refine, to evolve,
- 18:44and all of that is behind you in your past.
- 18:49But now think about your future. And not just any future, but a
- 18:58desirable future. And when you think about that
- 19:03desirable future, maybe you see a desirable future where all the
- 19:09lessons from the past have been learned.
- 19:13Maybe, maybe there is more of an ease, an acceptance, A
- 19:21curiosity. And I want you to think maybe
- 19:27one or two years further into the future and notice when you
- 19:32think of that version of you. How different?
- 19:36It seems you are then calmer, perhaps more grounded, more
- 19:44trusting of yourself, and maybe that version of you feels less
- 19:52compulsions, not needing to rush, not needing to assume.
- 19:59You seem to have broken free of old patterns.
- 20:05And see that version of you pausing, sensing, evaluating the
- 20:13nuances the. Shades of Grey.
- 20:15The context and maybe in that future you are receptive to a
- 20:23relationship without needing a relationship.
- 20:31I want you to. See that future?
- 20:33Version of you seeming more balanced, more open, more at
- 20:41ease within your own skin. And that future version of you
- 20:49isn't looking for certainty and guarantees.
- 20:54That future version is looking for synergy, compatibility,
- 21:02empathy, connection and resonance.
- 21:10And you recognize it easily. This future version of you does
- 21:17not lower your standards to find someone that may be interested.
- 21:27A future version of you holds higher standards, and I want you
- 21:35to feel an amplification of appreciation spreading through
- 21:41you. Appreciation for your
- 21:45resilience, for your growth, for the way you turned experience
- 21:53into wisdom. You can even feel proud.
- 21:59Not because everything was perfect, but because you adapted
- 22:05and you evolved. And whether it's now or soon,
- 22:10you will trust yourself more and more, trust your judgement and
- 22:16trust your ability to choose well.
- 22:22And the idea of love or connection companionship feels
- 22:26lighter, safer, more natural, because it begins with you.
- 22:37Nobody can love you more than you love yourself.
- 22:43The next few days and weeks and maybe even months is a mission
- 22:48of self love, of kindness, of acceptance, of encouragement.
- 22:58And the more love you show to yourself, the more you are
- 23:03training you're unconscious as to what kind of love you desire.
- 23:15I want you to think of a moment that hasn't happened yet.
- 23:24That when that moment happens, everything from the past
- 23:30suddenly makes sense. You needed the past to create
- 23:36the future, and as you hold that idea, it's time to leave this
- 23:43place. But you leave.
- 23:46With those conflicted parts working in harmony, extracting
- 23:51all the wisdom from the past to be more discerning.
- 23:56Open and understanding in your future to unleash any
- 24:03frustration or regrets into empowering self love, self
- 24:09respect and kindness for yourself.
- 24:13But let's float. Back now to the present.
- 24:17Take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 24:22nose. Wiggle your fingers.
- 24:25Wiggle your toes, connect and calibrate into the here and the
- 24:29now as I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 24:37You will awaken feeling that the past is the past.
- 24:43You can learn from it without needing to live there anymore.
- 24:50Starting to count 123 Waking up 456.
- 24:56More alert 7-8 Open your eyes. Open your eyes 910.
