- 2:19Speaker 2: I'll bring the hot sauce at least a couple. I'm
- 2:21Speaker 2: selling the hot sauce. Thank you. You should do that. It's good.
- 2:24Speaker 2: It's green all right, seven seven zero three one very day.
- 2:28Speaker 2: If you want to text us, we do have a
- 2:30Speaker 2: fun show coming up today. Chloe g will join us,
- 2:32Speaker 2: so will Glenn Closman for colbrat Court and Glenn has
- 2:35Speaker 2: a really really cool topic today. Right. Normally we go
- 2:39Speaker 2: over these cases. We like doing that because it really
- 2:42Speaker 2: does illustrate what kind of situations you can get into
- 2:44Speaker 2: in car crashes, especially if you don't have the right
- 2:47Speaker 2: insurance or you don't hire the right attorney. And today
- 2:49Speaker 2: is something that we really have not talked about at
- 2:52Speaker 2: link for a while, we're gonna talk about what happens
- 2:54Speaker 2: if you're in a crash that someone where someone has
- 2:57Speaker 2: a medical episode, which is by the way, just a
- 3:01Speaker 2: little behind the scenes here for something you worry about
- 3:03Speaker 2: every day. For me, I drive on a lot of
- 3:05Speaker 2: two lane roads out where I live. Yeah, you know,
- 3:08Speaker 2: up and down Highway forty four to go play golf,
- 3:10Speaker 2: out going toward Highway nineteen toward Mission in all the
- 3:13Speaker 2: little club places I like to go play golf haf
- 3:15Speaker 2: two lane roads. Dude, I gotta tell you, in the
- 3:16Speaker 2: back of my head, you know, one of the things
- 3:18Speaker 2: I'm terrified of is is somebody coming at me in
- 3:21Speaker 2: a vehicle and having a heart attack or a stroke
- 3:24Speaker 2: or some type of episode like that. So they're having
- 3:26Speaker 2: the medical episode and not you. Well, it could be
- 3:28Speaker 2: either way, but I mean, if you're like, this happened
- 3:30Speaker 2: to Code Black. Code Black was on seventeen ninety two
- 3:33Speaker 2: and a guy had a medical episode, hit him and
- 3:35Speaker 2: then a bunch of other people and then ran into
- 3:37Speaker 2: a gas station and because he had a heart attack
- 3:39Speaker 2: while he was driving. I'm with you, Jack, dude, I
- 3:41Speaker 2: was reading this question. Yeah, completely wrong. But the law
- 3:45Speaker 2: I think is different for situations like that, and I
- 3:47Speaker 2: don't know that a lot of people know that, So
- 3:49Speaker 2: we'll talk to Glenn about that a little bit later. Today.
- 3:51Speaker 2: We have some ross thaws today as well. Absolutely cool,
- 3:54Speaker 2: big action last night for the World Cup. Dude, it
- 3:57Speaker 2: is so awesome for all the soccer fans. Know it's
- 4:00Speaker 2: not the dominant sport in the country, but as a
- 4:03Speaker 2: soccer fan twenty years into following the sport, this has
- 4:06Speaker 2: been the coolest thing to see. You, my friends, the
- 4:10Speaker 2: rest of the country understand what off sides is. I'm
- 4:14Speaker 2: loving it. Went to dinner, matter of fact, I called
- 4:16Speaker 2: this last night. Went to dinner downtown Mount Dora last night.
- 4:19Speaker 2: The plan was to go over and watch some of
- 4:21Speaker 2: the soccer at the area. Wife wasn't feeling well, so
- 4:24Speaker 2: we kind of bailed out of that. But when we
- 4:26Speaker 2: drove by the area, it was packed. That entire place
- 4:28Speaker 2: where we do SuDS, pups and pints. Yes, that place
- 4:31Speaker 2: was absolutely packed with people down there watching the match
- 4:34Speaker 2: last night, which was great. It's a giant screen, yeah
- 4:37Speaker 2: yeh yeah, big truck TV. Yeah yeah yeah. That third score.
- 4:40Speaker 2: By the way, I called off sides on that, Oh
- 4:41Speaker 2: there you go. I knew it was off side. I'm like,
- 4:43Speaker 2: when they canceled us to do was off side? You
- 4:45Speaker 2: can't be I said, those two players one can't beat
- 4:47Speaker 2: ahead of the other. Yeah, yeah, dude, it's just that evolution. Man,
- 4:51Speaker 2: You're like a punkem on dude, you keep growing. They
- 4:53Speaker 2: do make it easier. I think the graphics.
- 4:56Speaker 3: The graphics when they show off side, they remove all
- 4:59Speaker 3: the other player. Then you just see the two they
- 5:01Speaker 3: drive the line. It's like, oh and you can understand this.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Those dude's back from Bozsi. You got a little chippy
- 5:05Speaker 2: at the end, though, Boy they were saying chippy. They
- 5:08Speaker 2: were get a little chippy. But I wanted to kind
- 5:11Speaker 2: of go for something else. It's like non soccer related
- 5:13Speaker 2: because people get bored sless about soccer. But I know,
- 5:16Speaker 2: but I will tell you the end. Sulary stuff that's
- 5:18Speaker 2: been happening. We've talked about the food thing, you know,
- 5:20Speaker 2: seeing people from other countries enjoy our big fat food. Yeah,
- 5:23Speaker 2: and how much we love seeing that. I saw something
- 5:27Speaker 2: even better than that yesterday. Let me ask you guys
- 5:30Speaker 2: this question. Two guys, two visitors from Japan here for
- 5:36Speaker 2: the World Cup. Two guys right probably in their mid twenties,
- 5:41Speaker 2: and these weren't like your Debonair Japanese dudes. These were
- 5:44Speaker 2: Jeene shorts with hammer loops. These were, you know, like
- 5:47Speaker 2: a Disney T shirt kind of guys. These were like
- 5:50Speaker 2: Japanese tourists kind of guys. You don't get the feeling
- 5:53Speaker 2: even back home they're that cool. But they were here
- 5:55Speaker 2: and having a good time. They visited an American business,
- 6:00Speaker 2: and what I saw where they went, I thought to myself,
- 6:03Speaker 2: I don't know that you could go to a more
- 6:06Speaker 2: American like what you when you think about America outside
- 6:10Speaker 2: of America and what America has sold to other countries
- 6:14Speaker 2: is what we are? What business do you think I'm
- 6:17Speaker 2: talking about? Like, you can't get more America than this business.
- 6:21Speaker 2: It's not I'm going. Bass Pross Pro is the Answeriz. Wow,
- 6:27Speaker 2: did you see the clip? I did not? Oh God,
- 6:29Speaker 2: I just know soccer and Japanese fans bass. These two
- 6:33Speaker 2: guys were in bass Pro. What do you think they
- 6:35Speaker 2: went in there for to look at the fish? No,
- 6:38Speaker 2: they got fish there, get coy pons dogs. It's part
- 6:40Speaker 2: of their culture. Have you ever been to Derby?
- 6:44Speaker 6: No?
- 6:46Speaker 2: Oh, that giant tub of cheese buys to look at
- 6:50Speaker 2: guns is the answer. I know, dude, Japanese dude, because
- 6:55Speaker 2: they don't ever get to do this. Those guys were
- 6:59Speaker 2: in this Bass Pro shop holding like ahars and assault
- 7:02Speaker 2: weapons and giant forty four magnums, taking pictures with the
- 7:06Speaker 2: manager or the manager give to them like hats bass
- 7:09Speaker 2: Pro hats. They were like mugging, like doing Schwarzenegger poses
- 7:13Speaker 2: and stuff. And you can't get happier than those two
- 7:16Speaker 2: dudes were in that Bass Pro shop. I don't know
- 7:19Speaker 2: why it made me smile so much. I've watched that
- 7:21Speaker 2: video four times. Well, it's there's so many reasons why
- 7:25Speaker 2: you're smiling. First of all, Japanese people are an absolute
- 7:30Speaker 2: delight when it comes to now. I can be critical
- 7:33Speaker 2: of their culture as well when I know about the
- 7:35Speaker 2: misogyny deep in the chanes of Japan, sure, but generally speaking,
- 7:40Speaker 2: they are punching way above their weight class when it
- 7:42Speaker 2: comes to happiness and influence and commune. I love the
- 7:46Speaker 2: country of Japan, dude. They were having so much fun.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Other customers in the store were kind of gathering around
- 7:51Speaker 2: watching these dudes like completely America out in this Bass
- 7:56Speaker 2: Pro shop. I'm telling you that if you can find
- 7:58Speaker 2: the video. I saw it this morning on I Believe,
- 8:00Speaker 2: and then of course with Reddit you can see it once,
- 8:02Speaker 2: scroll up, then scroll down, and it's disappeared forever. I
- 8:05Speaker 2: searched for it on YouTube, couldn't find it there, couldn't
- 8:07Speaker 2: find it on Reddit again even with a search. But
- 8:09Speaker 2: if you can find that video, watch it. It is
- 8:11Speaker 2: absolutely like joy inducing to watch those two Japanese boys
- 8:16Speaker 2: at that mass pro shop get crazy with these guns.
- 8:19Speaker 2: I got emotional off of a soccer like Instagram social
- 8:22Speaker 2: media thing over the World Cup. It's just a hyper
- 8:25Speaker 2: cut of everyone celebrating, whether it be the Koreans or
- 8:30Speaker 2: partying with like Mexico or you know all that footage
- 8:33Speaker 2: where you see just two massive cultures coming Scotland and Boston.
- 8:38Speaker 2: And then all it said was, uh was that, Uh
- 8:42Speaker 2: maybe it's the politicians? Yeah it was in Did Mexico
- 8:47Speaker 2: play Japan? I think, yeah, sorry, look at that whoops? Okay,
- 8:51Speaker 2: Japan and Japan lost. There was a Japanese fan out
- 8:54Speaker 2: in the streets, like during a street watch party, and
- 8:56Speaker 2: he kind of broke down a little bit. He got
- 8:57Speaker 2: very emotional. Do these Mexican fans just hug this dude up?
- 9:00Speaker 2: They just literally surrounded him like a bunch of mama
- 9:03Speaker 2: bears and we're like, dude, it's good, we love you still.
- 9:05Speaker 2: It's all. It's like just been the coolest thing to watch, man,
- 9:09Speaker 2: it really has. I don't know why. It's just it's
- 9:11Speaker 2: just again, it's very smile inducing for me. Well, it
- 9:14Speaker 2: keeps reminding me of what all the walls said in
- 9:17Speaker 2: elementary school, Like all the imagery of elementary school has
- 9:21Speaker 2: popped up back into my brain. Think about like when
- 9:26Speaker 2: I think about elementary school and stuff that was hung
- 9:28Speaker 2: up on a wall, it's always like very filled with diversity,
- 9:32Speaker 2: kids holding hands right around the world. There's always we
- 9:36Speaker 2: can get along the colors of Bentonville, like it's a
- 9:40Speaker 2: it's a small world. Yeah that basically it's a small
- 9:43Speaker 2: world kind of energy, at least when I was in
- 9:46Speaker 2: elementary school as a Wokes. So it's not a small well,
- 9:53Speaker 2: very very very fun to watch. But if you can
- 9:55Speaker 2: check that out, please do aunch stuff talk about We're
- 9:56Speaker 2: gona talk about chivalry today. Do you know what that is? Ross?
- 9:59Speaker 2: I do talk about that today. Orlando menus America's best town.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Solo maxing and what does it mean to dress American?
- 10:10Speaker 2: What does it mean to dress American. You wear red,
- 10:14Speaker 2: white and blue like these guys in our video. Yeah, no, no, no, no, no,
- 10:17Speaker 2: although they are Jack you found there? Where'd you find it?
- 10:20Speaker 2: Sea Lane State? It's on Instagram? Oh very nice. Yeah,
- 10:23Speaker 2: these guys are come. Did you see the Seilane head not?
- 10:26Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 10:26Speaker 2: Oh man, this is the greatest video. This manager came over.
- 10:31Speaker 2: These boys were having the time of their life. Double
- 10:33Speaker 2: barrel shotguns. Other people in the store coming around a
- 10:36Speaker 2: mad mug with them. They're letting them like point the
- 10:39Speaker 2: guns in the store, something like Ryan understanding is a
- 10:42Speaker 2: gigantic No, no, right, right right, yeah, I guess forty
- 10:46Speaker 2: four magnums. It's great, dude, look at that. I mean,
- 10:51Speaker 2: they're having so much fun. I love that, all right.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Four O seven nine one six one four one. You'd
- 10:55Speaker 2: always text us at seven seven zero three one. You
- 10:59Speaker 2: guys got some news over there today, I do, we do?
- 11:02Speaker 2: That's right.
- 11:03Speaker 6: Uh.
- 11:03Speaker 3: There's a new cost going up that will affect many drivers.
- 11:07Speaker 3: I have to tell you, Jim about who is getting
- 11:10Speaker 3: sued over the World Cup. Okay, and a couple of
- 11:13Speaker 3: Florida man and woman stories.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Very nice, they're in love. All right, we'll take a
- 11:18Speaker 2: little break. We'll come back, get some news and continue
- 11:21Speaker 2: on The Jim Colbert Show. Stay tuned, Hilbert, you know.
- 11:32Speaker 7: Llovi ands I forgot to honestly look up a holiday
- 11:38Speaker 7: or something.
- 11:39Speaker 2: He phoning it in.
- 11:40Speaker 7: Now. I'm excited. Jim James, You're finally gonna get to
- 11:44Speaker 7: meet me, and I promise I would make it creepy.
- 11:47Speaker 7: I'm a gonna show, y'all.
- 11:51Speaker 2: I ever actually said it to anybody. I've never said this.
- 11:54Speaker 2: I gotta tell you, I'm super happy for you get
- 11:56Speaker 2: to meet me. I've never made a statement like that.
- 12:00Speaker 2: I've never looked at another human being that man. Today
- 12:02Speaker 2: is your day. Why is that you get to meet me?
- 12:05Speaker 2: I love that energy.
- 12:07Speaker 3: And he's going to be at tomorrow's live broadcast at
- 12:10Speaker 3: Whiskey Kitchen.
- 12:11Speaker 2: If you ever wondered, that sounded exactly like Homer Simpson
- 12:15Speaker 2: for like four words. All right, Welcome back to the
- 12:18Speaker 2: Jim Colver Show, Real Radio one four point one. We
- 12:20Speaker 2: will be broadcasting live from Whiskey Kitchen a Mountain Dora
- 12:23Speaker 2: tomorrow starting at three o'clock with all kinds of fun happenings.
- 12:26Speaker 2: So join us. Costs nothing, by the way, to give
- 12:28Speaker 2: to our broadcast and have a good time. Plus you
- 12:30Speaker 2: can take on a prize. That's a great deal. It
- 12:32Speaker 2: is Jack. Yeah, I'm Jim, Jack and Ross right over there.
- 12:35Speaker 2: Matter of fact, they have some news. Let's get it.
- 12:37Speaker 1: It's time for JCS news.
- 12:41Speaker 8: Wow.
- 12:42Speaker 9: Has this guy got to put.
- 12:43Speaker 1: His name on everything?
- 12:43Speaker 2: It's in my contract ed.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Here's the news on the Jim Kolber Show.
- 12:48Speaker 2: JCS News is brought to you by that mortgage guy Don,
- 12:52Speaker 2: That mortgage guy Don dot com. You can catch him
- 12:55Speaker 2: there or on reel radio. This very station, your favorite
- 12:58Speaker 2: one right here on Saturday morning now for JCS News, Jim.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Last night was edge of the seat stuff. For me
- 13:06Speaker 2: is it was my soccer super Bowl because we are
- 13:09Speaker 2: officially in the knockout stage. And if you don't know,
- 13:12Speaker 2: it was a costly win for Team USA last night,
- 13:15Speaker 2: it really was. The US men's national team pulled off
- 13:18Speaker 2: probably I would say it's biggest win in years, but
- 13:21Speaker 2: it unfortunately wasn't clean. The Americans beat Bosnia on a
- 13:25Speaker 2: two nil victory last night and they are advancing to
- 13:28Speaker 2: the World Cup so they can face Belgium. However, you
- 13:31Speaker 2: can't gloss over the very very controversial red card shown
- 13:37Speaker 2: to maybe our best striker in Floria and Bolgon. So
- 13:41Speaker 2: it is kind of a bummer, a little bittersweet, but
- 13:45Speaker 2: I want to give hope against Belgium. Belgium have always
- 13:48Speaker 2: been overrated. They have some of the biggest names in
- 13:52Speaker 2: international soccer. He should stick to chocolate. Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 13:56Speaker 2: bullafin board material you're giving them, buddy. I They know
- 13:59Speaker 2: it too. They got they argued with each other on
- 14:01Speaker 2: the last their last match. They pulled off a miracle.
- 14:04Speaker 2: We have a chance, with or without our best player.
- 14:08Speaker 2: So I am happy to say that we are. There's hope,
- 14:12Speaker 2: There is hope. It's bittersweet, but a win is a win,
- 14:15Speaker 2: so we can't appeal that. However, if FIFA says it's
- 14:18Speaker 2: more than one game, then we can appeal it. But
- 14:21Speaker 2: if it's just the one game suspension, then he would
- 14:24Speaker 2: be back. Provided USA beats Belgium, he'd be back for
- 14:28Speaker 2: the next match. Nic flow, we need to flow back,
- 14:31Speaker 2: all right.
- 14:31Speaker 3: More World Cup news stub hubs getting sued by World
- 14:35Speaker 3: Cup fans who say they paid for tickets that never
- 14:39Speaker 3: showed up. Two people, a couple in California, file suit
- 14:43Speaker 3: this week, claiming the reseller canceled the orders last minute
- 14:48Speaker 3: and gave them the run around and let them stranded
- 14:51Speaker 3: outside the stadium. This happened at Sofi Stadium in La. Now,
- 14:56Speaker 3: this actually happened to one of our coworkers who w
- 15:00Speaker 3: to a match in Atlanta. They had tickets stub Hub tickets,
- 15:05Speaker 3: but only one showed up and they were on the phone.
- 15:08Speaker 2: With stub Hub.
- 15:09Speaker 3: Got finally i mean days leading up to it, trying
- 15:13Speaker 3: to work it out, got into the match thirty minutes late.
- 15:16Speaker 3: No way, I mean they were still there. It was
- 15:18Speaker 3: the Spain match, but still, you know, come on, stub Hub.
- 15:22Speaker 2: So is the is the accusation that maybe they're holding
- 15:25Speaker 2: those tickets back because, like Ross said yesterday, they're going
- 15:28Speaker 2: up in value so much that stub Hub is like like, well,
- 15:30Speaker 2: I mean we could pull these back and say there's
- 15:32Speaker 2: a problem in the recent of them for like thousands
- 15:34Speaker 2: more or something, or they just just not showing up.
- 15:37Speaker 3: Well, apparently this happening to thousands of fans, but stub
- 15:40Speaker 3: Hub is blaming FIFA's ticketing system, and FIFA says it's
- 15:44Speaker 3: not their problem. Yeah, So they're each pointing fingers ever
- 15:47Speaker 3: each other, and then the customer loses.
- 15:50Speaker 2: That's not good, Jim. Spectrum alerts. You know anything about this? Yeah,
- 15:54Speaker 2: it's when my cable went out. Well, actually, it has
- 15:57Speaker 2: nothing to do with your cable service, because as of
- 15:59Speaker 2: July first, there is a newly designed spectrum alert, and
- 16:03Speaker 2: one was issued on Wednesday for a missing team with
- 16:06Speaker 2: autism at Central Florida. Wow, I haven't heard of this.
- 16:08Speaker 2: The alert was canceled on today after the team was
- 16:11Speaker 2: found at his biological mom's house. Charges are pending against
- 16:15Speaker 2: the mother for interference with child custody. According to Holly
- 16:19Speaker 2: Hills Police Chief, the Florida Spectrum Alert is aimed at
- 16:22Speaker 2: quickly alerting communities to help locate and ensure the safe
- 16:26Speaker 2: recovery of missing children with autism spectrum disorder. Yeah, nothing
- 16:31Speaker 2: to do with cable. While the alert system was established
- 16:33Speaker 2: last year, it officially kicked off yesterday. I saw also
- 16:37Speaker 2: that they're starting a program to teach autistic kids to swim,
- 16:40Speaker 2: because an inordinate amount of autistic kids wind up in
- 16:43Speaker 2: bodies of water dead. Yes, and I think as part
- 16:46Speaker 2: of the Spectrum alert, law enforcement will actually first start
- 16:52Speaker 2: checking or moving towards bodies of water because autistic kids
- 16:56Speaker 2: have proven to be drawn towards water, which wild. Yeah,
- 17:01Speaker 2: just you know, something psychologically about it that calls them well.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Speaking of law enforcement, Osiola deputies are cracking down on
- 17:09Speaker 2: illegal parties, but specifically Airbnb house parties before the fore
- 17:15Speaker 2: because they figured this weekend is a big weekend where
- 17:18Speaker 2: people are gonna do these Airbnb house parties. It's a scourge.
- 17:22Speaker 2: The deputies in Osiola say they're working hand in hand
- 17:25Speaker 2: with Airbnb to identify and shut down unauthorized short term
- 17:30Speaker 2: rental parties before they even start. Its direct response to
- 17:34Speaker 2: the vacation home party culture that's become a headache for
- 17:37Speaker 2: neighborhoods packed with a bunch of these short term rentals
- 17:41Speaker 2: near the parks. You see this a lot like celebration
- 17:44Speaker 2: and whatnot.
- 17:45Speaker 3: You so they can expect people in the neighborhood can
- 17:48Speaker 3: expect to increase patrols, lower tolerance for the quote we
- 17:52Speaker 3: rented it for a wedding excuse and this one. It's
- 17:56Speaker 3: hope for a lot of Central Florida homeowners who live
- 17:59Speaker 3: next to the proper and have dealt with these late night,
- 18:02Speaker 3: all night pool parties and just you know, parties ruining
- 18:06Speaker 3: their life.
- 18:07Speaker 2: We learned about three or four years ago that that
- 18:09Speaker 2: started over on the West coast and the scalloping areas,
- 18:12Speaker 2: because when dudes would go over there scalloping, they that
- 18:15Speaker 2: would be like a week where they'd go down there
- 18:16Speaker 2: and they would just blow it out, and all of
- 18:19Speaker 2: those airbnbs stopped even renting during that week or during
- 18:22Speaker 2: that period of time. Really yeah, because people were showing
- 18:25Speaker 2: up there. We supposed to have six people in their
- 18:26Speaker 2: sixty yeah, and then all the neighbors are losing their mind.
- 18:29Speaker 2: So they just kind of found out that there was
- 18:30Speaker 2: a culture of that, and they basically stopped it because
- 18:32Speaker 2: we were going to go back and go again, and
- 18:34Speaker 2: they're like, no, we're not renting the property like that anymore.
- 18:37Speaker 2: Oh hey, Jim, what do Central Florida toll rates and
- 18:40Speaker 2: myself have in common? Wow? I wish I could think
- 18:45Speaker 2: of something super funny there. They are both getting highed
- 18:49Speaker 2: right across Central Florida are increasing and commuters on the
- 18:54Speaker 2: area's expressways are bracing for higher cost on daily drives.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Isn't it why I've learned this lesson? Never think you
- 19:01Speaker 2: actually have money. Yeah, think it's a moving target is
- 19:05Speaker 2: the minute they find out. Yeah, But that's interesting though,
- 19:09Speaker 2: because I thought the idea of tolls to begin with
- 19:11Speaker 2: were to pay off the projects. Raising the tolls would
- 19:15Speaker 2: lead you to believe that they're expanding and doing more projects. Yeah,
- 19:17Speaker 2: you can.
- 19:18Speaker 3: They can always come up with new projects, like my
- 19:21Speaker 3: favorite is the beautification efforts. So they got yeah, yeah,
- 19:26Speaker 3: well later do work on the four seventeen greenway. They're
- 19:30Speaker 3: widening that. There's a lot of construction in seven Dolan,
- 19:32Speaker 3: Orange County going on there.
- 19:33Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Still kind of a bait and switch thing when it
- 19:35Speaker 2: comes to tolls, though, yeah, one hundred percent.
- 19:37Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 19:38Speaker 3: What we found out is government and agencies where they
- 19:41Speaker 3: have money coming in, they don't like to stop that
- 19:43Speaker 3: money from coming in, right, They get used to having
- 19:46Speaker 3: that money.
- 19:46Speaker 2: R Yeah, because the four O weight has been charging
- 19:48Speaker 2: that since like what the sixties. Yeah, yeah, nothing was
- 19:50Speaker 2: supposed to just pay that off. And of course we're
- 19:52Speaker 2: still paying to drive the four A weight.
- 19:53Speaker 3: We've had ePass, like on my wife's car since like
- 19:56Speaker 3: I think day one when the transponder was out on
- 19:59Speaker 3: the front bump.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, one hundred percent.
- 20:01Speaker 3: But absolutely love the fact that now they don't even
- 20:05Speaker 3: have toll collectives anymore.
- 20:07Speaker 2: It's pay by plate.
- 20:08Speaker 3: But what I do enjoy with these past specifically, is
- 20:11Speaker 3: that lower rate because they show like Toby plate as
- 20:14Speaker 3: it's like half the price of.
- 20:15Speaker 2: It when yeah, yea, I love my past. Oh yeah yeah,
- 20:18Speaker 2: but I got the sticker one working ticket with me
- 20:20Speaker 2: but using another car, so that affects everyone by the
- 20:23Speaker 2: way around the Orange County, Semino County, Osceola. It's the
- 20:26Speaker 2: kind of quiet cost of living hike that doesn't make headlines,
- 20:30Speaker 2: but it is going to be there. I just found
- 20:33Speaker 2: out my wife is dropping like seventy bucks on tolls
- 20:35Speaker 2: a month. Well, dude, I can't imagine what mine is.
- 20:37Speaker 2: Deb and I both have to pay both ways coming here. Yeah,
- 20:40Speaker 2: is that ten bucks? It's got to be at least
- 20:42Speaker 2: that buddy whoa good dollars a day to come to work.
- 20:45Speaker 2: And then you just guess, Yeah, if you have texting
- 20:50Speaker 2: service competition, text in the highest toll might I want
- 20:55Speaker 2: to know if you are breaking one hundred text in?
- 20:58Speaker 2: I'm curious.
- 20:59Speaker 3: Yeah, Well, they're not the only ones paying more people
- 21:02Speaker 3: driving on toll roads. The people of Groveland. They're going
- 21:05Speaker 3: to be facing a ten percent water rate hike because
- 21:09Speaker 3: lightning took out a treatment plant. A lightning strike knocked
- 21:14Speaker 3: out Groveland Waters treatment plant, forcing the city to hand
- 21:16Speaker 3: out more than five hundred cases of bottled water to
- 21:19Speaker 3: residents during a boil water notice. Now that's been lifted.
- 21:24Speaker 3: The boil water notice has been lifted. Uh, but customers
- 21:28Speaker 3: are still facing a ten percent rakehike tied to the
- 21:31Speaker 3: incident because they have to come up with the money
- 21:34Speaker 3: to repair the treatment plant. And so you do that
- 21:36Speaker 3: on the backs of the people who are using the Wow.
- 21:39Speaker 2: I mean you nothing. I don't know the I don't
- 21:41Speaker 2: know the mechanism of gover. You would think that that
- 21:44Speaker 2: would be heavily ensured. So if something like that happened,
- 21:47Speaker 2: that it wouldn't lean on the onus of the of
- 21:49Speaker 2: the constituents to pay that, considering they already pay attax
- 21:53Speaker 2: for that. Yep. Anyway, there's a whole lot of Yeah,
- 21:57Speaker 2: I'm with you on this, Like, wait a second, this
- 22:00Speaker 2: thing should have been paid off. Yeah, yeah, I wouldn't
- 22:02Speaker 2: want that to go out to the community, all right,
- 22:04Speaker 2: I guess that's where we're going. And speaking of community,
- 22:07Speaker 2: someone had a bad day in our community. An FHP
- 22:10Speaker 2: trooper was punched in the face.
- 22:12Speaker 10: Damn.
- 22:12Speaker 2: You can see the video. I'm showing it right here.
- 22:14Speaker 2: That is balld. You got to see this, Jim. It
- 22:17Speaker 2: is during this chaotic High ninety five stop in Brevard County,
- 22:21Speaker 2: they just start squabbling. Yeah, but watch what happens to
- 22:24Speaker 2: everyone else who's in the van he has. They just
- 22:26Speaker 2: start It's like we need the bitting hill music there. Yeah,
- 22:33Speaker 2: these guys just bailed on their boy. Yeah, looking at him. Yeah,
- 22:36Speaker 2: I mean this troopers are tough as nails.
- 22:38Speaker 11: Dude.
- 22:38Speaker 2: I don't know if i'd be blaking with a trooper. Yeah.
- 22:40Speaker 2: The trooper uh definitely wins.
- 22:42Speaker 12: Yeah. Yeah.
- 22:42Speaker 2: They're looking for the other six people, so they're asking
- 22:44Speaker 2: for the public's help tracking down the rest of the group.
- 22:47Speaker 2: A routine traffic stop that turned in to a man hunt.
- 22:51Speaker 2: Back to you, Jack, Oh boy, that felt good. I
- 22:56Speaker 2: thought I got away with it. I don't know, well,
- 22:59Speaker 2: speaking of the truths, the new super speeder law might end.
- 23:03Speaker 3: A viral Central Florida's motorcycle YouTube channel good, yeah, you
- 23:08Speaker 3: know what, I'm here for it. The YouTube channel built
- 23:12Speaker 3: around motorcycles appearing to weave through Central Florida traffic at
- 23:15Speaker 3: speeds over one hundred and fifty miles may becoming new
- 23:18Speaker 3: an end the creator is actually blaming the new super
- 23:21Speaker 3: speeder law, which just turned one year old.
- 23:25Speaker 2: That the law did.
- 23:27Speaker 3: It has led to a wave of arrests and stiffer
- 23:29Speaker 3: consequences for extreme speeders across Seminal County and beyond, all
- 23:33Speaker 3: through Central all through Florida. It's a look at how
- 23:36Speaker 3: a new law is actually changing behavior or at least
- 23:39Speaker 3: driving it further underground. So do you think the law
- 23:42Speaker 3: is working or maybe they're just not posting videos of it?
- 23:47Speaker 13: Yeah?
- 23:47Speaker 2: I don't know, But dude, there has been a spate
- 23:49Speaker 2: of crazy driving in cuch Forges. You brought the Corvette
- 23:53Speaker 2: in a chase with a cop car got up to
- 23:55Speaker 2: one hundred and fifty seven miles an hour. Whoa, yeah, dude,
- 23:59Speaker 2: I mean it's like, I don't know, people just lost
- 24:00Speaker 2: their damn mind. Well, what pisses me off about twenty
- 24:03Speaker 2: twenty six is exactly what this whole YouTube channel is about.
- 24:08Speaker 2: I am struggling seeing bad things make profit. Yeah. It's tough,
- 24:13Speaker 2: isn't it. Yeah? Yeah? Yeah, it is exhausting, rewarded and
- 24:18Speaker 2: just by clicks. Ye yeah, you know, and it feels
- 24:21Speaker 2: itself like I don't know how to defeat that because
- 24:24Speaker 2: for the longest time. I've also been taught don't step
- 24:26Speaker 2: on anyone's bag, don't get in the way of someone's money.
- 24:29Speaker 2: The platform should not reward people breaking the law to
- 24:32Speaker 2: make money, and they should not do that. Well, that's
- 24:35Speaker 2: that they shouldn't know. I mean, you can't do that elsewhere.
- 24:37Speaker 2: I mean, if you get if you're breaking the law
- 24:39Speaker 2: making money, you're you're not heralded in the real world.
- 24:42Speaker 2: And to me, what's just as bad, And this might
- 24:45Speaker 2: sound like crazy person talk, but what's just as bad
- 24:48Speaker 2: is when it's law abiding and ethically bankrupt prank videos,
- 24:53Speaker 2: when you are recording taking advantage of people. Go hold
- 24:56Speaker 2: me back, Hey, Jim. Positive news. A woman was arrested
- 24:59Speaker 2: after troopers say she was waving a pitchfork and a
- 25:02Speaker 2: black whip in front of the public's in Lake County.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Plot twist, it was not a positive news Allegedly while
- 25:08Speaker 2: trying to sell Teddy Bears, What on the f where
- 25:11Speaker 2: was this that? And kept going Lake County. I got
- 25:13Speaker 2: the video for you. I'm sorry I missed it. Is
- 25:17Speaker 2: this my area? Wait a second, look there she is
- 25:19Speaker 2: watching her through a dash can. But so it's in
- 25:21Speaker 2: the rain. Has the chick been done. Has she done
- 25:23Speaker 2: this before? I remember talking of a weird story about
- 25:26Speaker 2: somebody doing something like this outside of the publics before.
- 25:29Speaker 2: There is no version of this sentence that I just said.
- 25:33Speaker 2: That doesn't sound made up. I don't know how else
- 25:36Speaker 2: to put it. But once again, a Florida woman was
- 25:38Speaker 2: arrested after troopers say she was waving a pitch for
- 25:40Speaker 2: her and a black whip allegedly while trying to sell
- 25:44Speaker 2: Teddy Bears. That is peak Florida.
- 25:46Speaker 3: Yeah, and and this happened a little while back. But
- 25:49Speaker 3: we just wanted to, you know, equality, because we talked
- 25:52Speaker 3: about Florida man all the time. Yeah, just know there
- 25:54Speaker 3: is a Florida woman and there she is kicking the
- 25:57Speaker 3: inside door of the police.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Is that a regular shoe? I thought that would have
- 26:02Speaker 2: been a croc. No, that's a biking shoe. I think
- 26:04Speaker 2: give him weird biking shoe. I think it's a clip
- 26:06Speaker 2: on biking shoe. What's out there? It's just gonna donkey
- 26:08Speaker 2: kick you. Yeah, okay, back to Florida man. Yeah, okay.
- 26:15Speaker 3: Florida man says he crashes. He crashed the truck. Then
- 26:19Speaker 3: he tried to steal a medical helicopter, but there's a
- 26:22Speaker 3: reason he blames it was because he saw the Antichrist. Okay,
- 26:26Speaker 3: twenty eight year old Florida man told troopers that's what
- 26:29Speaker 3: he saw right before he lost control of his pickup
- 26:31Speaker 3: crashed into another vehicle. This happened on n seventy five
- 26:35Speaker 3: in Hernando County. But then, according to authorities, he tried
- 26:38Speaker 3: to steal the medical helicopter that had landed on the
- 26:40Speaker 3: crash scene to air of patients in the hospital. Oh
- 26:43Speaker 3: my god, that my friend is right out of GTA six.
- 26:47Speaker 3: Is that sounds like a commercial for it? They should meet, Yeah,
- 26:51Speaker 3: they should meet.
- 26:52Speaker 2: These last two stories, the Florida woman and the Florida
- 26:54Speaker 2: man should come together. Yeah, and then and then actually
- 26:57Speaker 2: give birth to the babies. By the way, that goes
- 27:00Speaker 2: back to that horrifying fear I have of people just
- 27:03Speaker 2: losing their mind on the road going eighty miles an hour,
- 27:05Speaker 2: just figuring now's the time to end it all and
- 27:07Speaker 2: they get burying that into your car. Do you remember
- 27:09Speaker 2: when I said I had positive news? Yes, I was
- 27:12Speaker 2: serious because of hero On a much sweeter note here, Jim,
- 27:16Speaker 2: the Orlando Fire Department just certified fifty local teenagers and
- 27:20Speaker 2: CPR and emergency response skills through its Fired Teen Academy,
- 27:25Speaker 2: also known as FTA, a three week long program ran
- 27:30Speaker 2: alongside the Police Academy. These kids now walk around with
- 27:34Speaker 2: the ability to potentially save a life. That's cool. It's
- 27:37Speaker 2: genuinely awesome knowing that there's fifty young people that wants
- 27:41Speaker 2: to help other people. Yeah, that's really the news story,
- 27:46Speaker 2: A nice palate cleanser between the chaos stories.
- 27:49Speaker 3: There you go, oh wait, wait, wait, no, we got
- 27:51Speaker 3: more garbage to spend here? Was that the sherbet story? Yeah, yeah,
- 27:55Speaker 3: the sliced ginger. Yeah, but I got one more coming
- 27:58Speaker 3: from me. And that's not so great for Orlando because
- 28:01Speaker 3: they lost out on a major convention that instead is
- 28:05Speaker 3: now heading to Vegas. It's always those are the two,
- 28:08Speaker 3: right when it comes to conventions.
- 28:10Speaker 2: The two biggest markets. I believe we have Orlando and
- 28:12Speaker 2: Vegas going tit for tat the National Association of Home
- 28:17Speaker 2: Builders NAHB moving its annual International Builder Show to sin
- 28:21Speaker 2: City for at least the next thirteen years. It's a
- 28:24Speaker 2: thirteen year contract.
- 28:26Speaker 3: The convention organizer said to move the convention because it
- 28:29Speaker 3: wants more exhibit space, hotel room blocks. Yeah, which is
- 28:32Speaker 3: hard here in Orlando because we were quite the popular
- 28:36Speaker 3: hotel destination.
- 28:37Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 28:37Speaker 2: Yeah, there's hardly ever a season here like anywhere else.
- 28:40Speaker 2: I mean, it's always packed, so it would be difficult
- 28:42Speaker 2: to find rooms. I think there's space. They did say
- 28:44Speaker 2: the convention center was small, too small. I do not
- 28:47Speaker 2: believe that. Like, I've been to Vegas and I've seen
- 28:48Speaker 2: that convention space and it is cavernous. But I think
- 28:51Speaker 2: really probably what attributed to that more than anything is
- 28:54Speaker 2: Vegas is feeling it right now. Dude, they are going
- 28:57Speaker 2: through it. Vegas has not done well the last eighteen months,
- 29:00Speaker 2: and I'm guessing out there there are you know, those
- 29:03Speaker 2: managers and city managers are probably trying to make as
- 29:05Speaker 2: many deals as possible. Well.
- 29:07Speaker 3: Also, if they have that HOTE, if that's the case,
- 29:09Speaker 3: then they have more available hotel rooms and they can
- 29:12Speaker 3: offer a better deal one thousand percent. And also the
- 29:15Speaker 3: other thing they cited why the move, easier transportation options
- 29:19Speaker 3: to and from the convention center. Yeah, and again with
- 29:22Speaker 3: the hotels spread out down on Eydrive that you would
- 29:24Speaker 3: have access to, which would include the Disney and Universal areas,
- 29:27Speaker 3: that's where that would also make you have to hire
- 29:30Speaker 3: shuttles in a lot of these convention spaces in Vegas.
- 29:32Speaker 3: You can walk to them from those hotels, or they
- 29:34Speaker 3: have shuttles that get right there. I mean, it's it,
- 29:37Speaker 3: it really.
- 29:37Speaker 2: My wife does stuff out there all the time, and
- 29:39Speaker 2: she tells me, like she goes to the car show,
- 29:41Speaker 2: the big one that's out there every year. Yeah, and
- 29:43Speaker 2: the same type thing. Much easier to get around out
- 29:45Speaker 2: there than it is here, and considerably more space.
- 29:48Speaker 3: They need to get that sunraill go and get high
- 29:50Speaker 3: drive the airport and then the parks.
- 29:52Speaker 2: That would help a lot. Let's go, we got a
- 29:54Speaker 2: giraffe on the run. What Yeah, that's not a thing,
- 29:57Speaker 2: big Nick. A lot of spots just like me. Okay,
- 30:01Speaker 2: I'm a freckled six foot two guy, but my name
- 30:04Speaker 2: ain't Gracy. No. A giraffe named Gracie went missing from
- 30:08Speaker 2: a private ranch out in Texas and managed to stay
- 30:11Speaker 2: a few steps ahead of her owner and local officials
- 30:13Speaker 2: for nearly two weeks. On this day, right now, on
- 30:18Speaker 2: this day, I just learned you could privately own a giraffe.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I did not know that. Well, remember that's
- 30:23Speaker 2: just a Texas thing. I know.
- 30:25Speaker 3: Joe Exotic, that was his name, right, yeah, but whenever
- 30:28Speaker 3: they focus on the places where you could have exotic animals,
- 30:31Speaker 3: I think Texas is like one of the homelands. Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 30:36Speaker 3: for having whatever you want.
- 30:38Speaker 2: I think that guy doc Antle that was also part
- 30:40Speaker 2: of that was in the Virginia, Carolina area. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 30:43Speaker 2: He was gnarlely too. He ended up getting caught in
- 30:45Speaker 2: the gutter as well in the community. Yeah, but he
- 30:48Speaker 2: had some cave women that would hang out with him
- 30:49Speaker 2: and were kind of fun. Yeah, dude, I remember. I
- 30:51Speaker 2: think one of it. I want to say one of
- 30:53Speaker 2: the quotes from Joe Exotic to that guy was like,
- 30:56Speaker 2: I don't need help with the animals, but tell me
- 30:58Speaker 2: what you do with these women didn't getting him underneath control.
- 31:01Speaker 2: He had like three pretty cute blondes would like wear
- 31:04Speaker 2: bikinis and follow him everywhere he went and like treating
- 31:07Speaker 2: like he was like some cult leader. Wild.
- 31:09Speaker 3: Finally we have someone who made a prediction, but it
- 31:13Speaker 3: took six years to be realized, and it's actually a
- 31:18Speaker 3: pretty cool like uh pointing to the grand sands of
- 31:22Speaker 3: predicting a home run. Oh yeah, calling your shot, Yeah,
- 31:24Speaker 3: calling your shot. A New York Man, he's going viral
- 31:28Speaker 3: now because someone found his high school yearbook quote six
- 31:32Speaker 3: years ago where he predicted nix in six for the
- 31:37Speaker 3: twenty twenty six NBA file.
- 31:40Speaker 2: Way up. Wow, that's crazy and it happened delayed gratification,
- 31:46Speaker 2: but he called it. Yeah anything. If he'd have put
- 31:48Speaker 2: one dollar on that, then yeah, yeah, that's true. You
- 31:51Speaker 2: know what sucks though, is that you're still not in
- 31:52Speaker 2: high school, so like you have to reach out to
- 31:55Speaker 2: your friends to be like you guys. Remember look, I
- 31:59Speaker 2: would want people look looking for a prediction like that
- 32:01Speaker 2: as well. That's pretty badass and that is your JCS
- 32:05Speaker 2: News once again. Today's JCS News is brought to you
- 32:08Speaker 2: by that mortgage guy Don If it wasn't for my
- 32:11Speaker 2: wife knowing a lot about stuff when it comes to
- 32:13Speaker 2: houses and deals, I wouldn't know anything. But I do
- 32:16Speaker 2: know that I married out of my league. Where I'm
- 32:19Speaker 2: going with this is that she showed me how important
- 32:22Speaker 2: it is to get second opinions. A recent study, by
- 32:25Speaker 2: the way, just showed that twenty percent of people compare
- 32:28Speaker 2: never compare their first mortgage quote. You gotta change that,
- 32:31Speaker 2: change that get on top of that. It's a deal
- 32:33Speaker 2: that can change the trajectory of decades of your life.
- 32:36Speaker 2: Hit him up that mortgage guy Don that mortgage guy
- 32:39Speaker 2: don dot com. Thanks Mandy four oh seven ninete text
- 32:43Speaker 2: us seven seven zero three one back in a second
- 32:45Speaker 2: with more of the Jim Colvert Show.
- 33:03Speaker 15: What's going on COVID to company's concrete Mike Ross, Buddy,
- 33:08Speaker 15: those are rookie numbers on tolls. I go through no
- 33:12Speaker 15: less than two hundred and forty to two hundred and fifty.
- 33:16Speaker 16: Dollars on average and tolls a month, and I go
- 33:20Speaker 16: through about three hundred dollars in fuel a week going
- 33:26Speaker 16: back and forth, arties, little please.
- 33:30Speaker 2: A smooth five hundo just to make it the work.
- 33:33Speaker 2: So two fifties to number. Gentlemen, are you aware you've
- 33:36Speaker 2: been picked off the YouTube after showing the video of
- 33:40Speaker 2: the Japanese tourist. Yeah, we're working on that right now.
- 33:44Speaker 2: We'll give you a solution in about five seconds. Just
- 33:47Speaker 2: get through this. Yeah, where are you gonna go?
- 33:50Speaker 3: Real radio dot fm slash watch now goes to real
- 33:53Speaker 3: Radio's YouTube.
- 33:54Speaker 2: There you a real radio dot fm slash watch.
- 33:56Speaker 6: Guys.
- 33:56Speaker 2: If you look over the YouTube feed, that's where it is. Again,
- 33:59Speaker 2: that's real radio dot fm. Them slash Watch.
- 34:04Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 34:05Speaker 3: Yeah, it's real radio one of four to one on YouTube.
- 34:07Speaker 3: That's where we will be for the next week or so.
- 34:11Speaker 2: Yeah, all right for a seven textas seven seven zero
- 34:15Speaker 2: three one. Welcome back to the Jim Colbert Show. I
- 34:16Speaker 2: am Jim. There's Jack, Yeah, yeah, and Ross as well.
- 34:20Speaker 2: What are you laughing at? Wrong? I'm laughing because we
- 34:23Speaker 2: shot the stream down because Jim really found Japanese people
- 34:26Speaker 2: holding I had no idea it was going to do that. Look,
- 34:32Speaker 2: this is Sea Lane's fault. I have no problem saying this.
- 34:35Speaker 2: This is the kind of thing he does. This guy
- 34:37Speaker 2: is let me tell you something, behind the scenes, this
- 34:40Speaker 2: guy's been a disruptor for years, like a straight up disruptor.
- 34:44Speaker 2: Has the sales reps who have to deal with his
- 34:46Speaker 2: wrath every day. Then he sends us over stuff that's
- 34:49Speaker 2: gonna get his copyright bust. And this is all a scam.
- 34:51Speaker 2: This is all a news junkie ploy. Everybody knows it.
- 34:58Speaker 2: He's probably tying the news right now. You probably feels
- 35:02Speaker 2: so bad. All right again, seven seven zero three one,
- 35:05Speaker 2: if you want to Texas. Yeah, going back to that
- 35:06Speaker 2: argument we had about the tolls Jack had mentioned in
- 35:09Speaker 2: the news that the tolls are going up around Central Florida.
- 35:12Speaker 2: Ross asked out there what the highest one with concrete
- 35:15Speaker 2: might say? How much? Two fifty? I think we had
- 35:18Speaker 2: a three hundred on the line, but you got a
- 35:19Speaker 2: three hundred, three hundred dollars of tolls in a month.
- 35:22Speaker 2: I pay two elli, he says. I pay two to
- 35:23Speaker 2: three hundred a month in tolls. Last bill my month
- 35:26Speaker 2: was seven hundred and forty three dollars. Oh, how he goes.
- 35:30Speaker 2: I drive over this, I draw. I drive all around
- 35:32Speaker 2: the city all day long. And you know, look, anybody
- 35:35Speaker 2: in the world ward a minute. I don't care what
- 35:36Speaker 2: city you're in. You could be a Saint Cloud Gassimi Ovito.
- 35:39Speaker 2: It doesn't really matter. Out there on the coast and
- 35:41Speaker 2: Coco or Cocoa Beach or Melbourne. You know, everybody has
- 35:44Speaker 2: their like little shortcuts they use. But because there's so
- 35:46Speaker 2: much traffick in Central Florida, I don't think short cuts
- 35:48Speaker 2: are shortcuts anymore. They're just they're just shortcuts with a
- 35:51Speaker 2: lot of people to make them long cuts. So to
- 35:53Speaker 2: get anywhere you have to be in this state, if
- 35:55Speaker 2: you're commuting, it's almost you're forced outside of I four
- 35:59Speaker 2: When we know that that's a coin flip, you know,
- 36:02Speaker 2: to use the toll road, you're literally like being extorted
- 36:05Speaker 2: for toll. I just it's funny that you bring this up.
- 36:08Speaker 2: I just found this out. I thought every city basically
- 36:12Speaker 2: had something similar. But I think we're one of the
- 36:15Speaker 2: highest toll in America. We are super compared to other
- 36:19Speaker 2: major cities. Yeah, super dependent on our highways, way more,
- 36:24Speaker 2: way higher above the average. People think it's the big cities,
- 36:26Speaker 2: but it's not like even in New York. And I
- 36:28Speaker 2: believe Jack, and clear this up if I'm wrong here, buddy.
- 36:30Speaker 2: In New York, the tolls are basically get over the bridges, right.
- 36:34Speaker 3: Yeah, well, I think there are sub toll roads. But
- 36:37Speaker 3: Jersey has the term Pie Garden State Parkway. Right, But
- 36:40Speaker 3: the bridge that toll is that's like sixteen eighteen dollars.
- 36:44Speaker 2: To go over the bridge. Yeah yeah, but it's still
- 36:46Speaker 2: into the city. Yeah, to get into the city. But
- 36:48Speaker 2: I mean it's gonna caution thirty bucks to go in
- 36:50Speaker 2: and get home. That's just to go over a bridge.
- 36:52Speaker 2: But I think a lot of I think the Golden
- 36:53Speaker 2: State Bridge is also a toll bridge, is it not.
- 36:56Speaker 2: I remember we were when we were out there. We
- 36:58Speaker 2: were gonna go over, and then we heard there was
- 36:59Speaker 2: a hole for the Golden State Bridge. Yeah, I mean,
- 37:02Speaker 2: I don't know if that's true. I thought it was though.
- 37:03Speaker 2: There are no toll bridges here though, are there. Somebody
- 37:06Speaker 2: just sent one about Palm Coast and that bridge has
- 37:08Speaker 2: been there since time began. But there's like a dime
- 37:11Speaker 2: or it used to be a dime or a quarter
- 37:12Speaker 2: or something to get into Palm Harbor up there in
- 37:14Speaker 2: North Florida. Pine need a causeway over in Forfar and
- 37:18Speaker 2: a dime, yeah, with a dining to go over. And
- 37:21Speaker 2: now here's the one. Because they always tell you it's like, oh,
- 37:24Speaker 2: once it's paid off, you know, then we'll take the
- 37:27Speaker 2: toll down. And they were they the day or as
- 37:30Speaker 2: soon as they figured, okay the road that that causeway
- 37:33Speaker 2: is paid off, we're gonna take it down. And they're like,
- 37:36Speaker 2: how much is it to take it down?
- 37:37Speaker 3: Oh yeah, they had to leave it up for a
- 37:39Speaker 3: few more months to pay for taking it down.
- 37:42Speaker 2: Correct. I love it, God, I love it. Somebody had
- 37:47Speaker 2: dex in earlier asking what do you think one toll
- 37:50Speaker 2: like one toll plaza in Florida makes a year like well,
- 37:54Speaker 2: how much you would be I guess probably startled at
- 37:57Speaker 2: how much? I mean. And the thing now is this,
- 37:59Speaker 2: you know, with the transponders, you don't think about it.
- 38:02Speaker 2: It's like having It's like your your cruise card. You know,
- 38:05Speaker 2: you're walking on your cruise card, your swipe spike, spike swipe.
- 38:07Speaker 2: I'm having a great your magic baying. You just racked
- 38:11Speaker 2: up eighteen hundos in an afternoon. And that's kind of
- 38:14Speaker 2: like the toll thing. You don't really think about it.
- 38:15Speaker 2: It's like, look, I gotta get there. I mean, how
- 38:17Speaker 2: much can it be? I mean it, you know. And
- 38:19Speaker 2: my least favorite thing about tolls I hate when things
- 38:23Speaker 2: were good and then they take it away was the beep.
- 38:26Speaker 2: Oh I've been saying that for years. One when they
- 38:29Speaker 2: took out the beep, my stress probably increased by like
- 38:33Speaker 2: eight percent. Are you wondering beeping because it's telling you
- 38:36Speaker 2: you paid? Or yeah, you don't think you paid? When
- 38:38Speaker 2: you drive through. Back in the day, it would go
- 38:41Speaker 2: you'd be like a paid it, I did it, Yeah, yeah,
- 38:43Speaker 2: transaction done. But now it's all quiet. You have a
- 38:47Speaker 2: mime you know, electronic mind on your dash doesn't do anything,
- 38:51Speaker 2: and there no, there really isn't a toll booth anymore.
- 38:53Speaker 2: It's just you just go under these passes. But let
- 38:55Speaker 2: me ask real quick. Jack will know this immediately. In Florida,
- 38:58Speaker 2: back in the day, the Florida turn Pike had toll booths, right,
- 39:02Speaker 2: And if I remember right, it was one of the
- 39:04Speaker 2: only places that you actually paid tolls in Florida was
- 39:07Speaker 2: the Florida Turnpike for years. Now. This is back in
- 39:09Speaker 2: the in the seventies, mid seventies, and I remember driving
- 39:13Speaker 2: down to see my grandfather in Hollandale, and we took
- 39:16Speaker 2: the turnpike from up in p Town because I think
- 39:18Speaker 2: we got up there on wherever do you remember? And
- 39:21Speaker 2: Jack will know what the toll boosts looked like on
- 39:25Speaker 2: the turnpike back in the day before they went to
- 39:28Speaker 2: this new water in style. They looked like something specific, Uh,
- 39:31Speaker 2: like tiki hooks. No, dude, they looked like submarines. Like look,
- 39:35Speaker 2: they looked like half half half up out of the water,
- 39:39Speaker 2: subm You remember that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, they looked
- 39:41Speaker 2: like half up out of the water submarines. So if
- 39:43Speaker 2: you ever saw an old shot of the Florida Turnpike,
- 39:46Speaker 2: the toll boost literally looked like submarines. It was wild.
- 39:50Speaker 2: That's pretty cool. Yeah, it's got a fun.
- 39:53Speaker 3: So the turnpike in Jersey, the Garden State Parkway had
- 39:57Speaker 3: a series of toll booths to go through and you
- 39:59Speaker 3: would throw your quarters in into with basket or they
- 40:02Speaker 3: had that was the exact change right into the basket,
- 40:05Speaker 3: and then you would miss it and then you have
- 40:06Speaker 3: to open up the door or you pretend to miss it.
- 40:09Speaker 3: If you see a lot of misquarters on the floid
- 40:10Speaker 3: and then you pick them all out.
- 40:11Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, whoa, Okay.
- 40:13Speaker 3: That's before they went to the electronic pass. But on
- 40:16Speaker 3: the turnpike you would get a card and it would
- 40:19Speaker 3: list all the exits right and it would have a
- 40:21Speaker 3: punch where you got on, so wherever you got off
- 40:24Speaker 3: you had to have that card exactly, and if you
- 40:26Speaker 3: lost the car and charge you for every stock carrect yeah,
- 40:29Speaker 3: because I remember that.
- 40:30Speaker 2: It also told you how many miles it was between
- 40:33Speaker 2: each booth, and that way you could kind of get
- 40:35Speaker 2: an idea of how far your trip was, and it
- 40:38Speaker 2: also allowed you to add up allowed you to add
- 40:40Speaker 2: up how much it was going to be, so by
- 40:42Speaker 2: the it looked like a time card. Ross that's what
- 40:45Speaker 2: it used to be. Look like a time card, a
- 40:47Speaker 2: little punch thing. Oh yeah, man, I did experience that
- 40:50Speaker 2: up north. And how about this. When I first moved
- 40:52Speaker 2: to Orlando in eighty five, one of the biggest scams
- 40:55Speaker 2: on the four oh eight, Like Jack was saying, you
- 40:57Speaker 2: used to pull up, you throw your change in the basket.
- 40:59Speaker 2: You go on, dude. Kids in the neighborhoods would hide
- 41:03Speaker 2: in the bushes off to the side of four to
- 41:06Speaker 2: eight and they would put they would put plastic cups
- 41:09Speaker 2: in the basket, shove them down in there. Oh yeah,
- 41:12Speaker 2: people are throwing their coins in there. They'd wait for
- 41:14Speaker 2: like an hour, and then they'd run up when there
- 41:16Speaker 2: was no traffic and grab the cup and you know,
- 41:18Speaker 2: make eight, ten, twelve dollars or whatever it was.
- 41:20Speaker 3: Meanwhile, all those cars are now running the toll. They
- 41:24Speaker 3: think they paid, but they didn't. Really they did not.
- 41:27Speaker 2: Oh my god. All right, So I ran into some
- 41:29Speaker 2: toll stats. The most expensive toll road in the US
- 41:34Speaker 2: is in Pennsylvania? Is it? The Pennsylvania Turnbike is recognized
- 41:39Speaker 2: as the most expensive toll road in US, with an
- 41:41Speaker 2: average cost of one hundred and twelve dollars for a
- 41:45Speaker 2: passenger car, what like from one end to the other,
- 41:48Speaker 2: I believe. So, yeah, War, that's a lot, dude. All right,
- 41:52Speaker 2: four seven nine one six four to one. Text us
- 41:55Speaker 2: at seven seven zero three one. Chloeeg up next.
- 42:00Speaker 14: Jack and Bron sound the same. They talk.
- 42:04Speaker 6: It's almost hard to uh tell him apart.
- 42:10Speaker 9: I'm a new listeners off the show.
- 42:14Speaker 2: Thanks buddy, appreciate that very much. Yeah, I never got that.
- 42:17Speaker 2: I never have that. You guys down a lot, neither
- 42:19Speaker 2: did I. But I don't mind it. But I know
- 42:21Speaker 2: that every time that happens to someone else, they do
- 42:24Speaker 2: not like I'm changing everything about myself. All right, Welcome
- 42:30Speaker 2: back to the Jim Gober Show Real Radio one or
- 42:31Speaker 2: four point one again. If you're looking for the YouTube channel,

- 43:18Speaker 2: Just slither about. Are you gonna snake your way through
- 43:21Speaker 2: the neighborhood? Are you a good No? I was just
- 43:24Speaker 2: saying a mosy if you will. It wasn't worth stops there.
- 43:27Speaker 2: Are you a big Are you a big fireworks fan?
- 43:29Speaker 2: Are you a big you know? Yeah? You like him?
- 43:32Speaker 17: I wouldn't call myself an enthusiast, but I.
- 43:34Speaker 2: Think they're yeah, Yeah, that's fine. Okay, very good. Well,
- 43:36Speaker 2: Koeg drops back from The Orlando Weekly. She has her
- 43:39Speaker 2: ear to the ground when it comes to things happening
- 43:41Speaker 2: in the city and maybe things you may have not
- 43:43Speaker 2: you would you would normally not stumble upon, and she
- 43:47Speaker 2: comes in tells us about it. What do you get
- 43:48Speaker 2: this week?
- 43:49Speaker 17: Yes, I have a bunch of fun stuff going on
- 43:51Speaker 17: this weekend, a lot of Fourth of July events and otherwise.
- 43:55Speaker 17: So I will start us off with something going on tomorrow.
- 43:59Speaker 17: So the Electric String Quintet via Electric performs a concert
- 44:04Speaker 17: in downtown or Orlando. They are known for combining classical
- 44:08Speaker 17: technique with pop and rock classics, so they mentioned tributes
- 44:11Speaker 17: to Bon Jovi, Michael Jackson, Journey, and more. They were
- 44:15Speaker 17: also recently named house band for the City of Orlando
- 44:17Speaker 17: by Mayor Buddy Dyer. Really yes, their shows are really
- 44:21Speaker 17: high energy. They have all their instruments are led lit
- 44:25Speaker 17: and they're running around stage. They put on a really
- 44:27Speaker 17: fun show. And tomorrow they are encouraging attendees to wear red,
- 44:32Speaker 17: white and blue to kick off the holiday weekend. So
- 44:34Speaker 17: their concert happens tomorrow at seven pm at a loft
- 44:38Speaker 17: Orlando downtown. It's free to attend and indoors, and then
- 44:42Speaker 17: there will be food and drink available for purchases.
- 44:44Speaker 2: Very nice, very nice. That's Orlando's band. That's so cool.
- 44:48Speaker 2: What a fun title to be Orlando's house band.
- 44:51Speaker 17: Yeah, for sure, I'm excited for them. Also tomorrow, on Friday,
- 44:55Speaker 17: Red Hot and Boom at Cranes Rous Park in Altamont
- 44:58Speaker 17: Springs is happening. This is their twenty ninth Fourth of
- 45:02Speaker 17: July celebration. It's on the third of July, but it's
- 45:05Speaker 17: the fourth of July celebration. They are going to have
- 45:09Speaker 17: live music from Chris Lane, Wish Radio and Bluestone Circle.
- 45:13Speaker 17: There will be food and drinks, and then there's gonna
- 45:16Speaker 17: be a big kid zone with trampolines, bungee jumps, a
- 45:19Speaker 17: rock climbing wall, inflavorable games and just chances for kids
- 45:23Speaker 17: to run around. And then the fireworks show kicks off
- 45:26Speaker 17: at nine thirty pm. So the entire event is free
- 45:31Speaker 17: to enter, but you can upgrade to get VIP access
- 45:35Speaker 17: to their beer garden, which has food and drinks including
- 45:38Speaker 17: cocktails and beer, and then that's underneath a covered lounge
- 45:41Speaker 17: space with really good view of the fireworks show as well.
- 45:44Speaker 17: So that VIP upgrade is forty five dollars per person
- 45:47Speaker 17: and that's twenty one and up. But otherwise, if you're
- 45:49Speaker 17: wanting to just hang with the commoners, then it's a
- 45:52Speaker 17: totally free event. Yeah, totally free, kid friendly, perfect for
- 45:56Speaker 17: the fam.
- 45:56Speaker 2: Oh, very nice.
- 45:57Speaker 17: Over in Winter Park Also on Friday tomorrow, Uh, the
- 46:02Speaker 17: city is celebrating the fourth of July for the thirty
- 46:05Speaker 17: first year with a little festival in winter Park, Central
- 46:10Speaker 17: Park and West Meadow, big kind of field area. So
- 46:13Speaker 17: it starts with a national anthem performance by the Bach
- 46:17Speaker 17: Festival Choir. There will be additional live music as the
- 46:20Speaker 17: day goes on. There's gonna be carnival games, bouncy slides,
- 46:24Speaker 17: face painting, a children's bicycle parade.
- 46:26Speaker 2: Okay, be very cute.
- 46:29Speaker 17: Hopefully no injuries or mess ups there.
- 46:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 46:33Speaker 17: Yeah, And then they're doing sort of like a birthday
- 46:37Speaker 17: party situation for America birthday cake and ice cream to
- 46:41Speaker 17: wrap everything up. So this is from six to nine
- 46:44Speaker 17: pm on Friday in winter Park and it is completely free.
- 46:47Speaker 2: Nice lots of free stuff going on this. Yeah, I know,
- 46:51Speaker 2: bike riding, ice cream, Let's.
- 46:53Speaker 17: Go sugar high, running around perfect falling off a bike.
- 46:58Speaker 2: You put two beers in me, dude, that's my saying.
- 47:01Speaker 2: That sounds like, I'm.
- 47:03Speaker 17: Yeah, I think it should be fun. On Saturday the fourth,
- 47:07Speaker 17: we have I four Fast happening at Austin's Coffee. So
- 47:11Speaker 17: this is their annual Fourth of July little celebration that
- 47:15Speaker 17: they do. The twenty four hour Coffee shop just recently
- 47:19Speaker 17: settled into its new space and winter park, kind of
- 47:21Speaker 17: down the street from where it.
- 47:22Speaker 2: Was located before. It's your headquarters.
- 47:24Speaker 17: Oh yeah, So this festival is going to feature local artists,
- 47:28Speaker 17: live music, and vendors to shop from. There's going to
- 47:31Speaker 17: be three stages total, summer indoors, summer outdoor, and they
- 47:35Speaker 17: are hosting twenty live bands, plus DJs, singer songwriters and more.
- 47:40Speaker 2: N you can shop.
- 47:41Speaker 17: Around, celebrate local artists, listen to some music.
- 47:45Speaker 2: Did you say benders or vendors?
- 47:47Speaker 17: Venders?
- 47:47Speaker 2: Oh? Okay to say, because if you walk up to
- 47:49Speaker 2: a ten and go, I'll take Heroin. I mean, I
- 47:52Speaker 2: don't know. I don't know. I'm ready to go on
- 47:54Speaker 2: a vodka bender. Was it on the menu? But I
- 47:57Speaker 2: don't really, I don't know. Yeah, I've been waiting to
- 47:59Speaker 2: do for bender for a while. Mister Colbert, are you
- 48:02Speaker 2: looking for black white or yellow tar? I will take
- 48:05Speaker 2: the yellow tar, sir, all right, that's the Dragon dark perfect.
- 48:09Speaker 17: And so that's happening at Austin's Coffee four pm on Saturday.
- 48:13Speaker 17: It's all ages and there's just a five dollars entry fee.
- 48:16Speaker 2: That's nothing.
- 48:17Speaker 17: Another big Fourth of July little fireworks situation is going
- 48:22Speaker 17: on at Lake Yola on Saturday. So this is Fireworks
- 48:25Speaker 17: at the Fountain. It's happening from four to ten pm.
- 48:28Speaker 17: This is the city's forty eighth annual Fourth of July show.
- 48:31Speaker 17: There's gonna be live music, family friendly activities, food and
- 48:36Speaker 17: drink available for purchase, and then you can bring picnic
- 48:38Speaker 17: back blankets and chairs, settle into a spot and watch
- 48:41Speaker 17: the free fireworks show that starts at nine to ten
- 48:44Speaker 17: pm the day.
- 48:46Speaker 2: Doing a drone show this year or are they gonna
- 48:50Speaker 2: no word word? I mean, yeah, they had an incident
- 48:56Speaker 2: of drones, right, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. And then also
- 48:59Speaker 2: they had an incident with just fireworks because everyone thought,
- 49:02Speaker 2: like someone's got one run exactly right, a couple of
- 49:06Speaker 2: years ago, Like that's that's not a good sign. When
- 49:09Speaker 2: fireworks make everyone run and you're downtown exactly when your
- 49:13Speaker 2: fun makes you flinch.
- 49:14Speaker 17: Yeah, And I hope all the Swans are very comfortable.
- 49:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I think they didn't. They mix all the swans.
- 49:19Speaker 2: The swans are they're too completely out.
- 49:23Speaker 17: They're in the process of rehoming them, is what the
- 49:25Speaker 17: city has been saying that I think they're still there.
- 49:27Speaker 2: They're still I didn't think the boats were even there anymore.
- 49:30Speaker 2: And I was down when we were down just the
- 49:31Speaker 2: other day doing something for the radio show. I drove
- 49:34Speaker 2: around the lake or you had to drive by the lake,
- 49:35Speaker 2: and dude, those things were not only are they still there,
- 49:39Speaker 2: every one of them was rented. Yeah, fifteen of those
- 49:41Speaker 2: things out on that lake. Have you ever done it? No,
- 49:44Speaker 2: I've never done it. I've never done it either, but
- 49:45Speaker 2: I'm gonna. I'm gonna do it one day.
- 49:46Speaker 3: It looks so sketch. I would never want to fall
- 49:48Speaker 3: in that water. They had a Pride one. They had
- 49:51Speaker 3: one rainbow swan. I think for Pride month. I don't
- 49:53Speaker 3: know if they're going to keep it.
- 49:54Speaker 2: I think they are.
- 49:55Speaker 17: I think they're keeping it. They had a rainbow wrapped
- 49:58Speaker 17: one in a gold wrapped one for Orlando Birthday. Very nice,
- 50:02Speaker 17: super cute. So next, in terms of Fourth of July
- 50:06Speaker 17: things to do, the Point or Lando Entertainment and Dining
- 50:10Speaker 17: Complex is hosting a set of parties. This is a
- 50:12Speaker 17: little less kid friendly, but all the nightlife venues on site,
- 50:16Speaker 17: so the Palm Tree Club, the Hampton Social, Shark Bar,
- 50:19Speaker 17: and PBR Cowboy Bar are all hosting different parties at
- 50:23Speaker 17: different times with DJ's special drinks and just lots of
- 50:26Speaker 17: high energy and that is kind of all weekend at
- 50:29Speaker 17: different times. At the Point Orlando on International Drive.
- 50:33Speaker 2: That's cool because you park one place and you just
- 50:34Speaker 2: kind of like bar hot down there. That's not a
- 50:37Speaker 2: bad spot. I mean when it comes to Point in Orlando,
- 50:40Speaker 2: I think that or I Drive that's kind of one
- 50:42Speaker 2: of the showcase areas because of that very thing. There's
- 50:44Speaker 2: a parking garage right next to it, so you can
- 50:46Speaker 2: park there and then once you've parked, I mean, everything
- 50:49Speaker 2: is really within like one hundred yards of each other.
- 50:51Speaker 2: I mean you go walk around and hit all of
- 50:52Speaker 2: those bars, food and everything down there. Yeah, I know,
- 50:54Speaker 2: you're set, Yeah yeah, yeah.
- 50:55Speaker 17: Well I have one more event for us if you're
- 50:58Speaker 17: looking for something to look forward to on Sunday, kind
- 51:00Speaker 17: of after the Fourth of July celebrations are over. So
- 51:04Speaker 17: the Conduit in Winter Park is hosting its Market of
- 51:08Speaker 17: the Beast on Sunday. Oh yes, this time. This is
- 51:13Speaker 17: a market that they host once in a while. This
- 51:15Speaker 17: time they are doing it at night for the first time,
- 51:17Speaker 17: so it's Night of the Beast. This week and this
- 51:19Speaker 17: is another one of those spooky kind of oddities markets.
- 51:23Speaker 2: So they are.
- 51:24Speaker 17: Going to have dozens of vendors and a full bar
- 51:27Speaker 17: with drink specials going on. So it's a lot of
- 51:29Speaker 17: shopping through weird little spooky trinkets and oddities, clothing, pottery,
- 51:34Speaker 17: home decor, artwork, little treats and things like that. You
- 51:37Speaker 17: can definitely find something weird and freaky. And it takes
- 51:40Speaker 17: place inside Conduit in the ac which is nice. It
- 51:43Speaker 17: starts at five pm and it is free to attend.
- 51:46Speaker 2: You uh, you know what. You pick out a lot
- 51:47Speaker 2: of stuff that has like little freak show feels to it.
- 51:50Speaker 17: Yeah, I thought you would say that because it just happened.
- 51:54Speaker 2: It's happened to be two weeks around, two weeks in
- 51:56Speaker 2: a row, and I'm not in charge of what's on
- 51:58Speaker 2: the calidary whatever. You picked this second out though, two
- 52:02Speaker 2: weeks in a row. Now, like you you're picking up
- 52:05Speaker 2: freak shoe stuff. I just think it's fun.
- 52:07Speaker 17: What if you need a shot for somebody who's a
- 52:09Speaker 17: little quirky and likes a little little funny and things
- 52:13Speaker 17: like that.
- 52:14Speaker 2: Did you're freak right?
- 52:15Speaker 17: It's a dermy freaky stuff if.
- 52:18Speaker 2: Somebody brought you quote little you said that with the
- 52:21Speaker 2: cutest little smile, a taxi dormy, freaky kind of thing.
- 52:24Speaker 2: If somebody got you that, would you be cool that.
- 52:26Speaker 2: I think they're funny. I think they're cute.
- 52:28Speaker 17: They make them when they can stand up and they
- 52:30Speaker 17: have little outfits on.
- 52:31Speaker 2: I think that's it's gone. If you want to dominate
- 52:35Speaker 2: this year's White Elephant party. Oh really, dude, I've always
- 52:40Speaker 2: wanted to show up with like a dead ass squirrel
- 52:42Speaker 2: At one of those it was cute. Ye wear a
- 52:47Speaker 2: holla skirt. Don't say no, you're the one who picked it.
- 52:50Speaker 17: You're like, no, I got you something dressed up like you.
- 52:54Speaker 17: But it's a little taxidermy.
- 52:56Speaker 2: Animal, an old mad badger. Don't say that with the squirrel. Yeah, exactly.
- 53:05Speaker 2: So you're gonna stick around town for the fourth Yes.
- 53:07Speaker 17: I'm sticking around town, going to a little barbecue, and
- 53:10Speaker 17: then I will find some fireworks to soak up in
- 53:12Speaker 17: the evening.
- 53:13Speaker 2: Do these slave drivers over at the Orlando Weekly allow
- 53:16Speaker 2: you some time off over there?
- 53:17Speaker 17: Yes, yes they do. I get a long weekend for
- 53:20Speaker 17: the holiday, which I'm very thankful for and excited to
- 53:23Speaker 17: just kind of relax and hang out and enjoy the
- 53:25Speaker 17: heat outside.
- 53:27Speaker 2: You're not going outside, we know you do. I'm stuck
- 53:31Speaker 2: in the a C. You do more stories about a
- 53:33Speaker 2: C anybody I've ever in my mind.
- 53:35Speaker 17: Well, if I'm looking through the calendar of things too,
- 53:37Speaker 17: I want to know where I'm going to be spreading
- 53:39Speaker 17: and where I'm going to get a little bit of
- 53:40Speaker 17: a breeze.
- 53:41Speaker 2: Speaking of ways, that night of the Beast is that
- 53:43Speaker 2: inside or outside? Yes, it's inside. Oh, there you go see.
- 53:46Speaker 17: And now during the summer, I'm trying to give you
- 53:48Speaker 17: guys a good little mix of half indoors, half outdoors. Yeah,
- 53:51Speaker 17: ac And then also we're enjoying the sun.
- 53:54Speaker 2: The texting service is coming in kind of hot, saying
- 53:56Speaker 2: that they don't think you could do the swan boat.
- 53:59Speaker 2: What do you They don't think I could do the
- 54:00Speaker 2: swan boat? Like paddle it? Yeah, they don't think you
- 54:03Speaker 2: got it. They don't think you're they brought leg strength.
- 54:06Speaker 2: Oh are we turning to set a spree? Look at
- 54:11Speaker 2: that something or Tory won't paddle guys, it's a paddle boat.
- 54:16Speaker 2: I'm sure I could manage a paddle boat. And then
- 54:19Speaker 2: if you and I weed two people yeah, you need
- 54:21Speaker 2: two people, so you're gonna need a partner. That's gonna
- 54:25Speaker 2: if you and I we're a swan boat out. We're
- 54:27Speaker 2: just taking rights. No no no no no no no no.
- 54:30Speaker 2: My wife and I will race you and your wife?
- 54:32Speaker 2: Are you and Chloe? I don't care. I don't know.
- 54:34Speaker 17: You guys want me on your team. I'm not very athletic.
- 54:37Speaker 17: I'll really give it my all. I get very competitive,
- 54:39Speaker 17: but I have no.
- 54:42Speaker 2: Very competitive with no skill. Who would you think would
- 54:44Speaker 2: win in a paddle boat race between myself and Chloeg?
- 54:48Speaker 2: You should say me immediately? An there's a partner, right,
- 54:54Speaker 2: So it depends on who the partner is. Oh, you
- 54:57Speaker 2: have to have to, I think.
- 54:59Speaker 17: Because then you just be going in a circle. You
- 55:01Speaker 17: need to balance out the happen.
- 55:04Speaker 2: Regardless on this show. Who would you choose choose to
- 55:06Speaker 2: be your partner based on who looks the most athletic
- 55:10Speaker 2: and you've been to be very careful here and that's
- 55:13Speaker 2: not here. I would, I really would. You guys would
- 55:20Speaker 2: never get back to shore.
- 55:21Speaker 17: I would because you know what, we would have cheated
- 55:23Speaker 17: and then we would have won.
- 55:24Speaker 2: We would be sling shotting food. Do you guys. That's
- 55:27Speaker 2: because they keep stopping for smoke breaks. Yeah, exactly. It
- 55:31Speaker 2: would be so funny to see dead smoking his sick
- 55:33Speaker 2: on one of those swan buts. Chloe just got her
- 55:34Speaker 2: feet up, just cracking beer, and we would have more
- 55:38Speaker 2: fun than you guys. Yeah, that's where you'd win for sure.
- 55:40Speaker 2: That's all that matters, all right, you guys, give it up.
- 55:42Speaker 2: Good laugh for Chloe if I never think she rightes
- 55:46Speaker 2: right there in the pages of the Orlando Weekly. That's
- 55:48Speaker 2: Orlando Weekly dot com. Chloe, have a good, safe weekend.
- 55:50Speaker 2: Thank you. Seven nine one text us seven seven zero
- 55:55Speaker 2: three one mega one second with more of the Jim
- 55:57Speaker 2: Corburt show.
- 56:01Speaker 18: I lived in Marion County for forty years, and there
- 56:04Speaker 18: she used to be so many shortcuts around this town.
- 56:07Speaker 2: Yeah, but man.
- 56:09Speaker 15: Because our lovely mayor and our city people that love.
- 56:14Speaker 10: Just to bring more houses with no jobs here to
- 56:17Speaker 10: the city.
- 56:20Speaker 19: Honestly, the fastest way is just sticking.
- 56:22Speaker 2: The old roads full forty one, yeah.
- 56:24Speaker 15: Twenty seven forty yep, not two hundred.
- 56:28Speaker 12: Okay, so probably shouldn't be admitting to this, But back
- 56:31Speaker 12: in the day up and bringing your beach, they had
- 56:34Speaker 12: their self seen baskets when you were coming off the
- 56:37Speaker 12: expressway that you had to throw you toll into.
- 56:40Speaker 14: There were many a time I collected.
- 56:42Speaker 11: One hundred dollars a week because I would go and
- 56:45Speaker 11: duct tape at the bottom of the baskets before the
- 56:48Speaker 11: chains could go out of the basket, put duct tape
- 56:51Speaker 11: and cardboard down in there, and collect all the tolls
- 56:54Speaker 11: and go buy every day and empty amount.
- 56:57Speaker 2: Good money she need, said, good money, he says A
- 57:00Speaker 2: while bas Ago, I did it paid in tolls, and
- 57:05Speaker 2: my license got suspended, and to get my license back,
- 57:09Speaker 2: I had to go on a payment plan and they
- 57:12Speaker 2: said mimium of twenty five dollars a month, and I
- 57:16Speaker 2: would be making ninety five payments, ninety payment.
- 57:22Speaker 1: I think I'm got seventy.
- 57:26Speaker 2: Jack right to the calculator. You et erase this calculation
- 57:31Speaker 2: twenty five times ninety or ninety five twenty three hundred
- 57:36Speaker 2: dollars in tolls.
- 57:39Speaker 3: Well, I don't know if that's what she owed and
- 57:41Speaker 3: told her if that's a penalty on top.
- 57:43Speaker 2: Of all, yeah, yeah, twenty three seventy five. Oh, my daughter,
- 57:45Speaker 2: you used to get in trouble like that all the time, PITCHI. Oh,
- 57:48Speaker 2: we'd get those letters. What are you doing?
- 57:51Speaker 12: Man?
- 57:52Speaker 6: All right?
- 57:52Speaker 2: For us seven ninete six four one text us seven
- 57:55Speaker 2: seven zero three one. I'm Jim. There's death. Oh excuse me.
- 57:57Speaker 2: The Jack one Colbert Court coming up in a few minutes.
- 58:06Speaker 2: But we will broadcast live tomorrow from Whiskey Kitchen and
- 58:09Speaker 2: downtown Mount Dora or Mount Dora. It's not actually downtown,
- 58:12Speaker 2: but it's a couple of blocks from downtown. But a
- 58:14Speaker 2: lot of fun, guys. We're gonna have a lot of
- 58:16Speaker 2: cool stuff going on. The Mayor's gonna join us. Uh,
- 58:18Speaker 2: We're gonna have some interviews. We're gonna have some prizes,
- 58:20Speaker 2: We're gonna have some quizzes. We're gonna find out how
- 58:22Speaker 2: American you really are around to pick the porn live,
- 58:27Speaker 2: plus all kinds of bonus stuff. So join us.
- 58:29Speaker 3: You have a secret, perverse thrill of doing pick the
- 58:32Speaker 3: porn in front of a live crowd.
- 58:34Speaker 2: It's I here's the thing here, I know who reacts
- 58:38Speaker 2: to it. I got this one on my left that
- 58:40Speaker 2: reacts to it quite well. Sometimes I'll get a chuckle
- 58:42Speaker 2: out of Ross, sometimes out of you. You're you're more
- 58:45Speaker 2: worried about.
- 58:47Speaker 5: Uh.
- 58:47Speaker 2: But there I get to see the live reaction from
- 58:50Speaker 2: other people and how I react to it. It's fun.
- 58:54Speaker 2: You should make it like a truer false thing so
- 58:56Speaker 2: you get more fake ones in there. Maybe, so look
- 58:59Speaker 2: at that. That's the fun part. I would think, Yeah,
- 59:01Speaker 2: you have to make up dirty one. Yeah, the fake one.
- 59:04Speaker 2: That's my favorite thing is trying to make up the
- 59:05Speaker 2: fake one so that I can kind of fool people
- 59:07Speaker 2: and still have it be funny. You know, bum Twizzler. Okay,
- 59:11Speaker 2: we know that's not the one. I mean, we won't
- 59:15Speaker 2: do that. It was spitballing. Yeah, we won't do that. Hey,
- 59:17Speaker 2: that was my second guest. We may talk about this
- 59:19Speaker 2: a little bit later. Were gonna talk about now because
- 59:21Speaker 2: we had a short segment here. Glenn will be up
- 59:23Speaker 2: in a few minutes. Do you remember that show? How
- 59:25Speaker 2: are your your thirty six? You probably do? You remember
- 59:27Speaker 2: the Pickup Artist? The Pickup? Yeah, the TV show The
- 59:30Speaker 2: Pickup Artist. I would assume that it's like the movie Hitch,
- 59:34Speaker 2: but as a show in real life it was what
- 59:37Speaker 2: was the guy's name, Jack? Was it like like a
- 59:40Speaker 2: jinx or he had some kind of wild name like that,
- 59:43Speaker 2: and he wore like this kind of weird top hat
- 59:46Speaker 2: looking thing and he kind of looked like Scott Wiland
- 59:48Speaker 2: from Stone Timple Pilots. All right, what about this guy,
- 59:52Speaker 2: Well he would Mystery. Mystery was his name, Eric van
- 59:58Speaker 2: Markovic and going by the stage name Mystery. Yeah. So
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: his whole thing was he was a pickup artist. He was,
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: you know, a silver tongue devil. Yeah, okay, and he
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: would teach other people how to talk to or approach women.
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: All right, all right, that exists. Well I think you
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: could do it. I think I could. Yeah, you could
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: do it because you know, let's I mean, we're like,
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: we're not all tens in the room. I mean we've
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: gone over the number of things. You gave yourself a
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: solid six and a half. Yeah, but if I got
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: braces bro over. But what I'm saying is is I
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: believe that because of your because of your personality, that
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: you would never have a problem finding somebody to hang
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: out with. I mean, you've talked about all the time
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: you married way way up. Your wife is a dime.
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: She's absolutely beautiful, she's amazing, and she just boobs in
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: a button and everything, and she's a cool chick. She's
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: a little bit more of a little bit more of
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: a kind of like a weathered soul. Yeah, she puts
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: out that that princess by but there's not a princess
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: back there. No, no, no, no. But but the whole
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: point is is, you know, guys would have a hard
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: time meeting somebody like your wife because it would be
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: difficult to approach them because she's so pretty. And I
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: think you could break down that kind of thing for people.
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: I think you could actually teach somebody how to have
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: confidence to approach and you know, make a person, you know,
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: have a conversation with you, maybe not go out or whatever,
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: but at least not tell you you suck and get
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: away from me. I'm happy that you said that, because
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: the first thing we got to start off is with
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: a conversation. You don't go into any of these meetings
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: expecting or anything more than a conversation. You got to
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: you gotta nail a conversation first before anything else can
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: get nailed. The reason and the reason I bring this
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: up is there's a guy in Nashville that's actually doing
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: this right now. He's like kind of started this entire
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: school of teaching men how to talk to women. And
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: and by the way, it's not like a woke scenario
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: where you're thinking, well, he's gonna learn how to be
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: feminine and meet them on their level kind of thing.
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: It's actually the exact opposite. It is the idea of
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: teaching a male confidence while speaking to women or approaching
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: a young lady. That's the way to go about it.
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: He has my approval and he's teaching the idea of confidence.
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: In other words, the idea that you are talking yourself
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: out of a date by not believing you're good enough.
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: And what you don't know is there are a lot
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: of women out there that look or looking for people
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: with your personality traits, with your look, with your height,
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: with your weight, your eye color, you know, your education level.
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: There's somebody out there looking for you, just you. You just
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: need to know how to unlock that part of you
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: so you can kind of let people know that's who
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: you are.
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: Little confidence goes a long way, but too much not
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: so good everything.
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: Also, that would be one of the things that I
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: wouldn't tell anybody who's trying to get better when it
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: comes to talking to strangers, is that there's a balance.
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: I'm a big believer of. I will waste someone's five
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: seconds out in the public when I go a nice
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: truck or anything like that, and then if it doesn't work,
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: I move on. And if it does work, then I'll
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: then we'll talk about as Ford raptor Yeah, okay, very

- 1:04:18Speaker 1: of Them's a Colemart court.
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: That's right, Colber Court. Rough you are good to bring
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: Lynn Clausman over at Klosman Law. That's k l A
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: U S M A N lawn dot com offices right
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: there in the winter Park four oh seven nine one
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: seven seventeen eighteen car crash call that gentleman right there.
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: Give it up, good low for mister Glenn Klausman. Let's
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: go right.
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: You know what I need to remind I need to
- 1:04:38Speaker 4: thank you, thank you for saying the phone number, because
- 1:04:41Speaker 4: I had a client call today in a car accident
- 1:04:45Speaker 4: at the scene of the crash, waiting for the trooper
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: to show up, and he said, you know, from listening
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: to one O four point one on the Colbert Show,
- 1:04:52Speaker 4: I put your name and phone number right in my
- 1:04:54Speaker 4: phone so that if I had a prom I call you.
- 1:04:56Speaker 5: No way.
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: Yeah, wow, that's awesome. That's great. That's awesome.
- 1:05:00Speaker 4: Terrific. I wish more people would do it, Are they okay?
- 1:05:03Speaker 4: Uh yeah, we don't know. He didn't feel so bad,
- 1:05:06Speaker 4: but you know it was right at the time. Adrenaline
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: is running.
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: Who knows. Yeah, that's the worst thing to say though.
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: I mean, you know, and we talked about this one
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: hundred times. When you do get into a car crash
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: like that and you know the adrenaline is rolling, you
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: think you're okay. Man, never ever ever assume you're okay.
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: You got to get checked out or because if not,
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: down the road you get have some issues.
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: And there's a two week clock running on getting checked
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: out and being able to have it covered for, you know,
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: the accident. But also another important thing that Glenn brings up,
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: when you have the accident, that's not the time to
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: go looking for the phone number. If you put this
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: information in there now, then you know who to call
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: when you need to call him.
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: That's actually a super good idea. Yep. Thanks.
- 1:05:43Speaker 4: And you know what happens to is you get shaken
- 1:05:45Speaker 4: up when you're in an accident. Doesn't matter how sharp
- 1:05:47Speaker 4: you are, you're shaking up a little bit. And he
- 1:05:50Speaker 4: just wanted to make sure he was going in the
- 1:05:52Speaker 4: right direction, who to call, who to talk to, that
- 1:05:54Speaker 4: sort of thing, And that's brilliant. Yeah, yeah, because you're right,
- 1:05:57Speaker 4: A lot of people don't have that information on I'm
- 1:05:59Speaker 4: ready to go, And if you get into that situation,
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: you're rattled. Yeah, And it's much easier to have that
- 1:06:03Speaker 4: when you can just hit a button and say, hey,
- 1:06:05Speaker 4: I just got in a car crash. Here's where I am.
- 1:06:06Speaker 13: What do I do?
- 1:06:07Speaker 4: Yeah, you're rattled, you're upset, and it's good to have
- 1:06:09Speaker 4: the information handy, Absolutely.
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: Very nice. Well that's good to hear. You know, you
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: and I had lunch yesterday and you paid, which is great.
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: You know, really have a pizza. But we like a
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: little place called Francesco's over Maitland. If you're ever looking
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: for some of the most authentic Italian food, I'll give
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: them a free pop. They're really good people. They've been
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: there a while. They were voted Meeting One's Best for
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: the longest. I think they have the best lasagna in
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: Orlando in my opinion. Simply delicious stuff. But we go
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: there and we like to have lunch, and yesterday we're
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: having a conversation and you and I have a close
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: friend in common my buddy, Code Black also is a
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: buddy of yours, and Code Black had an accident probably
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: about four or five years ago that wasn't his fault,
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: but we never really talk about the situation that happened
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: to him a whole lot, and I think it's important
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: that you that people know the law is kind of
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: different for those scenarios. And what I'm talking about is
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: Sean was hit by somebody who had a medical episode
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: in traffic. I think he had a heart attack.
- 1:07:04Speaker 12: Is that what it was?
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: Heart attacker? I thought I was a stroke. It was
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: a stroke, Yeah, a stroke in traffic. And he not
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: only hit Sean, but he hit some other people and
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: then his car ran into a building as well. So
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: when that happens, things change a little, don't they. Yeah.
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: I mean it's it's interesting whose fault is it? I mean,
- 1:07:23Speaker 4: you know, that's that's the question you look at. In
- 1:07:25Speaker 4: this particular case, there were three people that were injured,
- 1:07:30Speaker 4: and there was limited insurance. The person who caused it
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: had ten thousand per person twenty thousand totals, so the
- 1:07:36Speaker 4: three people had to split the twenty thousand. But the
- 1:07:38Speaker 4: issue was was the man who had the medical episode
- 1:07:42Speaker 4: negligent in any way and causing the crash, because if
- 1:07:46Speaker 4: he's not negligent, his insurance is going to pay the claim.
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: Will not play the claim. I'll not paid a claim.
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: And if I remember right, this case had a situation
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: where he had been previously medicated for this situation that
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: he had, but wasn't currently on the medication. Right.
- 1:07:59Speaker 4: That's as the attorneys what you do as you start
- 1:08:02Speaker 4: looking when you have a situation like this when somebody
- 1:08:04Speaker 4: asks a medical episode, and I've had probably one a year,
- 1:08:07Speaker 4: I get where someone has a medical episode or claim
- 1:08:10Speaker 4: they had a medical episode, and the insurance company says, well,
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: the person wasn't at fault, so why should we pay
- 1:08:16Speaker 4: the claim. We only pay claims when our person's at fault.
- 1:08:19Speaker 4: And then we as a lawyer, you have to dig
- 1:08:21Speaker 4: in to see why this person had a medical episode.
- 1:08:24Speaker 4: Were they not taking the medications they were supposed to
- 1:08:26Speaker 4: be taking, were they driving when they were supposed to
- 1:08:28Speaker 4: be driving. Had they reported something unusual where they needed
- 1:08:34Speaker 4: medical treatment and they weren't getting it. Sometimes a dash
- 1:08:37Speaker 4: can have one where a dash can was actually pointing
- 1:08:40Speaker 4: to the driver because it was a truck, a commercial
- 1:08:43Speaker 4: truck where they had one pointing to the driver end
- 1:08:45Speaker 4: pointing also had and you could see the guy's having
- 1:08:47Speaker 4: a problem and he's not doing anything about it, and
- 1:08:49Speaker 4: he continues to drive and then he unfortunately passes out
- 1:08:53Speaker 4: and the truck just keeps going and hitting several people. So, yeah,
- 1:08:56Speaker 4: it's and that puts him at fault, right, he's at fault,
- 1:09:00Speaker 4: should have pulled over. I've had cases where there's a
- 1:09:04Speaker 4: head on crash and you know, the person dies that
- 1:09:08Speaker 4: came across the line and hits our client, and the
- 1:09:11Speaker 4: insurance company says, well, they had a heart attack and
- 1:09:13Speaker 4: that's not his fault. He had a heart attack, therefore
- 1:09:16Speaker 4: we don't have to pay the claim. And in those cases,
- 1:09:19Speaker 4: you know, sometimes the autopsy is very important to determine
- 1:09:23Speaker 4: whether it was a heart attack that caused it or
- 1:09:25Speaker 4: whether there was some other blunt trauma that caused the
- 1:09:27Speaker 4: person to end up having having died from having the accident.
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: What would what would exonerate somebody from a scenario like that,
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: because I can't remember how the how Sean's case worked
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: out was was he found at fault or he was
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: found not at fault? Right, because there was a period
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: of time that he hadn't been taking the medication or something.
- 1:09:46Speaker 4: Right, what happened was I don't think he got a
- 1:09:49Speaker 4: ticket or anything like that. I think the fellow survived
- 1:09:51Speaker 4: if I remember correctly. But in that case, they paid.
- 1:09:54Speaker 4: They paid because we were able to show evidence that
- 1:09:56Speaker 4: the person was negligent in some way in causing the
- 1:09:59Speaker 4: crack by not doing what he was supposed to be doing,
- 1:10:02Speaker 4: or doing something he wasn't supposed to be doing.
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: But could that, God, this is gonna go It's gonna
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: be a little bit of a hot take here. Could
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: that be for somebody who doesn't just take care of
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: themselves in general? Like could that be for an alcoholic
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: that's not happened, that doesn't happen to be drunk at
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: the moment, but because of the alcoholism, it causes a
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: medical issue, or maybe the person's obese and because of there,
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: because of the nature of their heart and the shape
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: it's in, even though they're not on medication, maybe on
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: the center prill or some blood threat. I mean, does
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: that does it come into play like that? Are those
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: cases you argue?
- 1:10:35Speaker 4: That would be very difficult. You have to show the
- 1:10:37Speaker 4: person was negligent in some way for causing the crash,
- 1:10:40Speaker 4: not negligent in their lifestyle, negligent in some way for
- 1:10:43Speaker 4: questioning the crash.
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: But if the negligent lifestyle kind of can fuel the
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: negli the negligent act, I guess that is a hard argument. Yea, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:10:54Speaker 4: I mean there's another not the same thing. But we
- 1:10:58Speaker 4: also have people call some times where there's an intentional
- 1:11:02Speaker 4: act that hurts someone, and when there's an intentional act
- 1:11:05Speaker 4: that hurts someone, the insurance is not going to cover
- 1:11:08Speaker 4: that other because the insurance only covers negligent acts. Explain that, well,
- 1:11:12Speaker 4: For instance, there's a famous case where somebody pulls a
- 1:11:15Speaker 4: chair out from somebody and they fall back and they
- 1:11:17Speaker 4: injured their back very badly needed surgery on their back,
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: and the insurance company wanted to argue that when the
- 1:11:26Speaker 4: chair was pulled out, they did not have the intention
- 1:11:29Speaker 4: to cause the back surgery. They just had the intention
- 1:11:32Speaker 4: to pull the chair out and let the person fall,
- 1:11:33Speaker 4: but never intended the injury that occurred. And the court said,
- 1:11:37Speaker 4: it's the act that caused the problem. The act was intentional,
- 1:11:42Speaker 4: and because the act was intentional, we're not paying the claim.
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: Huh yep, that's the way it works. The insurance pays
- 1:11:49Speaker 4: for negligent acts, not intentional acts.
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: So in a driving scenario, that would be like somebody
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: racing down the road, doing doughnuts in a parking lot,
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: losing control of their car and running into somebody and
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: causing an injury.
- 1:12:02Speaker 4: Potentially that could be a road rage. Is what we
- 1:12:04Speaker 4: see where somebody the two people get into an argument
- 1:12:08Speaker 4: and the one person intentionally slams into the other person's vehicle.
- 1:12:13Speaker 4: The insurance is going to argue that the person who
- 1:12:16Speaker 4: caused slamming into the vehicle because they were upset, that
- 1:12:19Speaker 4: was an intentional act and we're not going to cover
- 1:12:21Speaker 4: the damages.
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: Wow, how about this? Then this road they thought they
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: were on our saw this road rage. This road rage
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: thing is very interesting. Okay, Jack and I are in
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: our cars and we're an intersection. I go to turn
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: because I have the light. Jack pulls out there. He
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: doesn't see the light. We hit each other.
- 1:12:39Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: Jack super pissed because he's gonna be late for a
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: super important thing with one of his kids. He gets
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: out of the car. He starts screaming at me. I
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: get out of my car and go, dude, it was
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: you that did the wrong thing. What are you doing?
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: Jack shoves me, We get into a fight, we get
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: injured both, I mean, nobody wins the fight, but we
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: both beat each other up or we're both injured. Is
- 1:12:59Speaker 2: that are those injuries covered by our car insurance? Because
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: because what initiated the contact began in the car?
- 1:13:06Speaker 4: No, no, no, okay, very sty it has it has
- 1:13:11Speaker 4: to be somehow related to an occurrence in the car. Okay,
- 1:13:18Speaker 4: even pumping gas has been found to be an occurrence
- 1:13:21Speaker 4: related to the car. But there's a subsequent, separate act
- 1:13:24Speaker 4: when you get out and you start arguing with each
- 1:13:26Speaker 4: other and start beating each other up. Now, you could
- 1:13:28Speaker 4: get you could get insurance coverage for the damages for
- 1:13:31Speaker 4: the injuries that occurred from the crash, right, But you
- 1:13:33Speaker 4: can't get money for the injuries when the two of
- 1:13:36Speaker 4: you start arguing, totally separate incident, when you start beating
- 1:13:39Speaker 4: each other up, And in that case, even your homeowners
- 1:13:41Speaker 4: insurance is not going to cover it because they're going
- 1:13:43Speaker 4: to say this, these were intentional acts.
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: Oh wow, you intentionally meant to harm the other person
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: and vice versa. Right, the action you took was intentional,
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: It wasn't negligent all right. Going back to the injury
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: from someone who had a medical episode. You're in the car,
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: somebody has a medical episode, they hit you, they cause
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: major damage, the person passes away. We go through the
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: insurance companies saying that exactly what you said earlier. Does
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: your uninsured motors come into play here? Does that give
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: you extra coverage that the insurance company can't avoid.
- 1:14:15Speaker 4: That's a great question. Your uninsured motorist coverage stands in
- 1:14:20Speaker 4: the shoes of the other person who clused the crash.
- 1:14:23Speaker 4: So if that other person who caused the crash had
- 1:14:27Speaker 4: a medical episode and was not negligent in any way,
- 1:14:30Speaker 4: then your uninsured motors coverage can say we don't have
- 1:14:32Speaker 4: to pay the claim. However, your uninsured motorist coverage is
- 1:14:36Speaker 4: your own insurance and usually they are more sympathetic to you,
- 1:14:40Speaker 4: because if we had to file a lawsuit, I'm filing
- 1:14:43Speaker 4: a lawsuit directly against your insurance company, and they know
- 1:14:47Speaker 4: that jurors are going to be more sympathetic to the
- 1:14:50Speaker 4: person who's insured, who bought the policy than they are
- 1:14:52Speaker 4: to the insurance company. And so usually when it's uninsured
- 1:14:56Speaker 4: motors coverage, it's easier to get by that defense that
- 1:15:01Speaker 4: the person in a medical episode and therefore they weren't negligent. Wow,
- 1:15:05Speaker 4: and you've said before that Jack rides his bike a lot.
- 1:15:07Speaker 4: Jacks out riding his bike, he gets hit by somebody
- 1:15:10Speaker 4: on a vehicle, in a vehicle.
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: Yeah, let me know. Yeah, yeah, can he u're in
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: my phone? Does he use his car insurance for that?
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: Or does he use his medical insurance for that?
- 1:15:19Speaker 4: He uses his car insurance. First, his car insurance pays
- 1:15:22Speaker 4: the first ten thousand dollars towards his medical bills because
- 1:15:25Speaker 4: the injuries occurred from a car. So that's why his
- 1:15:29Speaker 4: car insurance paced the first ten thousand dollars. Yeah, after
- 1:15:31Speaker 4: he exhausted the first ten thousand dollars, which will happen
- 1:15:34Speaker 4: when he goes to the emergency room when they start
- 1:15:35Speaker 4: doing scans, then his health insurance kicks.
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: In right and then and then uninsured if he hasn't well.
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: At what point does it a jerk who hit me pay? Well?
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: He pays a guy in the pickup truck without a tailgate. Yeah,
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: he pays depending on how much insurance he has. Jack,
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: I mean, you know, I have the minimum he might
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: have any to pay for your injuries. That's why you're
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: stacking uninsured motor Scrabbage kicks in and I gotta tell
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: you a guy without a tailgate, that's a guy that
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: sounds like he has zero auto insurance at all. Definitely
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: zero uninsured motorists. Definitely no insurance to cover guys like Jack, which,
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: on a serious note, is extremely important to have uninsured
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: motors coverage because of drivers out there who just don't
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: have insurance or enough.
- 1:16:17Speaker 4: Yep, because the state does not require people to have
- 1:16:19Speaker 4: insurance to pay for your injuries when they're negligent and
- 1:16:23Speaker 4: cause a crash. The state does not require that.
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: So if I'm driving, and let's say I had a
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: heart issue and I'm not taking my heart pills and
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: I have a medical episode, how does my insurance treat me?
- 1:16:32Speaker 10: Like?
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: I mean, if I'm injured? I mean, how do they
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: treat me? Do they look at that the same way? Like? Look, man,
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: you had a heart issue, you were prescribed pills, You're
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: supposed to be taking this. You haven't taken them for
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: two weeks. You had a heart episode. How is that
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: my fault even with my own insurance?
- 1:16:45Speaker 4: Well, it's your fault, and your own insurance is there
- 1:16:50Speaker 4: to protect you when you are at fault for doing something,
- 1:16:53Speaker 4: so they owe the claim. That's way you buy insurance.
- 1:16:55Speaker 4: They can't get off the hook from paying your claim
- 1:16:57Speaker 4: by saying it's your fault. Tell me you know that
- 1:17:00Speaker 4: way you have insurance. That's why I bought insurance from you.
- 1:17:02Speaker 4: When I do something wrong, when I'm negligent, you paid
- 1:17:05Speaker 4: a claim. Yeah, it's your fault, dummy. Yeah, this text
- 1:17:09Speaker 4: just came in.
- 1:17:10Speaker 3: What happens if Jack gets into an accident with another
- 1:17:13Speaker 3: bicyclist and the only damage is to Jack's hair?
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: Who is liable on that?
- 1:17:19Speaker 6: The car?
- 1:17:20Speaker 4: Insurance is not involved because there's no motor vehicle involved.
- 1:17:22Speaker 4: So right, if the other bicyclist was negligent in some way,
- 1:17:26Speaker 4: it's possible that that other bicyclist would have homeless insurance
- 1:17:29Speaker 4: that potentially could cover you, even though it did not incur.
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: Occur in a home. One guy says, here he goes,
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: let me see something. He says, Oh, a woman had
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: a diabetic episode, hit me head on her car flip
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: she actually passed. Oh my, her insurance paid out what
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: they could, which wasn't much. And then I sued mine
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: and got my uninsured motory exactly perfect, perfect scenario. That's
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: what happens all the time. I will always have my
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: jaw drop whenever I hear yeah. And then I had
- 1:17:56Speaker 2: to sue my own insurance companiy.
- 1:17:58Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like, what what is happening? Glenn? Before you
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: get out of here, we had this hypothetical. I was
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: wondering if you could tell us who would win in
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: a fight between Jim and Jack and that hypothetical who's
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: taking whose life? It depends on who's got what weapons? Really,
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: I mean, you know, Jack nunchucks, Jim mace. I gotta
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: avoid that.
- 1:18:17Speaker 10: You know.
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: I'm putting my money on Jim for the record that
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: I thought.
- 1:18:21Speaker 4: We had a movie coming here.
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: He's got at least forty pounds on me. Oh, Glenn,
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: I was wondering there a movie fight Clube. Oh god, dude, No,
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: you ever seen Fight Club? Glenn? Oh? You love it? Buddy?
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: What kind of movies are you into? Maybe? Not?
- 1:18:38Speaker 12: Fine?
- 1:18:40Speaker 4: You know what's the last movie you watched? Well on
- 1:18:43Speaker 4: TV or in a movie theater? I can't remember going
- 1:18:45Speaker 4: to a movie theater. It's got to be a couple
- 1:18:46Speaker 4: of years now. Oh I have I have passed.
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: I need to go I need to go.
- 1:18:52Speaker 4: Do you we just have Do you like going to
- 1:18:53Speaker 4: the movies? I used to, Yeah, but you know it's
- 1:18:58Speaker 4: so much easier to watch on TV.
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I would agree with that, But I do like
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: going to see a like when Odyssey comes out these
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: big pictures, you gotta go see him on the big film.
- 1:19:05Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what That's what I've been told I need
- 1:19:07Speaker 4: to I need to take those passes and go Siata.
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: I've been told that.
- 1:19:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:19:10Speaker 2: Yeah, because sound, cinematography, everything is so crazy now, the
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: technology is so good. I'm looking forward. I want to
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: see that movie. Yeah, for sure, that should be great.
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: Always good seeing you by. And by the way, we
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: have Christmas in July coming, go up a little bit later, okay, Yeah,
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: I can do some trivia, all right. Christmas in July,
- 1:19:25Speaker 2: I'll pass out the twenty five dollars publish skiff cards. Yeah,
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: very nice. So then is should let me give out? Okay,
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: we'll do that at the end of the month, so
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: a little bit, a little bit farther down the road.
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: But Glenn will come in and do Christmas in July.
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: He'll have some Christmas questions. You answer them, you get
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: public Skiff cards, and he always loves doing it because
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: he likes giving people money. That's fun, all right, but
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: a good scene is always there. He is good. Link
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: close guys, all right for seven six four one text

- 1:20:06Speaker 20: windshield washer reservoir. Place some silver glitter about a spoonful
- 1:20:13Speaker 20: in there. Don't do every time you go through the
- 1:20:16Speaker 20: toll checks where the cameras are clean your windshield and
- 1:20:19Speaker 20: it leaves a bright picture with that's it you.
- 1:20:26Speaker 10: Just kidding.
- 1:20:27Speaker 2: That's against the wall, right, I would not do that,
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: not do I mean they actually didn't. They institute some
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: loss to bust people doing stuff like that a couple
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: of years back. Yeah, like those plate things, things, things
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: in disguise, so the cameracy. Yeah.

- 1:22:03Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: Yeah, My wife and I were listening to him yesterday,
- 1:22:05Speaker 2: are like, man, they're incredible. Hat Ridgeway, of course, you
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: know her from our show and from her albums and
- 1:22:10Speaker 2: me and around Orlando playing the drone show, the fireworks.
- 1:22:13Speaker 2: You can walk around out door with your drinks. Man,
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: it is it is custom ready to go to have
- 1:22:19Speaker 2: a good time for the fourth Let's go faux show. Chivalry, Chivalry,
- 1:22:25Speaker 2: it's not dead, that's what they say. Yeah, do you
- 1:22:28Speaker 2: guys practice this stuff and be honest? Opening doors, pulling
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: out chairs, Yeah, stuff like that. The one yeah, yeah,
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: the one chivalry thing that I think I have always done. Chivalrous, Yes, chivalrous.
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: I do take the sidewalk side. I've always thought that
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: was like really cute and adorable. I don't know what
- 1:22:47Speaker 2: you're talking about. You're supposed to take the street. You
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: take the street side on the sidewalk, the right sidewalk side.
- 1:22:54Speaker 3: Yeah, so you're protecting her from any oncoming car.
- 1:22:58Speaker 2: Which I think is hilariou that's why I do it?
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: Or no, If a car splash is a poddle, you
- 1:23:04Speaker 2: get the front of it right, and she doesn't, which
- 1:23:06Speaker 2: I have never seen. It's like it's like quicksand rights.
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: You open doors. I believe I have. I've opened up
- 1:23:16Speaker 2: a car door. It's not every time. I'm being real.
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: Can I ask you a question this? I think this
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: is the important part of this argument because this is
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: a story out of New York today where a woman
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: went on to a subway train and she's standing there
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: and she starts doing a video because she's on the
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: subway train and nobody it's all these dudes, and not
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: one of these young men stood up to offer her
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: a seat, and she thought that was unbelievable. So she
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: walks over to this one guy and he looked to
- 1:23:43Speaker 2: be probably thirty or whatever, and he's like, you know,
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: stereotypical kind of guy, got his AirPods in, he's on
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: his phone. And she said, are you going to stand up?
- 1:23:53Speaker 2: And he goes for what And she said, to give
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: me your seat and he goes, uh, he goes, oh what, say,
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: oh God, why do you want it? The last thing
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: he said was about equality. He goes, do you believe
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: in this? She goes, yeah, do you believe in equality?
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: Then he says blank off. In other words, the idea
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: is you, you guys have asked for equality and you
- 1:24:16Speaker 2: want to be treated equal all these years, and so
- 1:24:19Speaker 2: that means that you stand when there are no seats.
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: Nobody here has to stand up for you. But those
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: are two different things, are they not. Chivalry is a
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: mindset of respect. It has nothing to do with equality.
- 1:24:36Speaker 2: It has nothing to do with equality. It is a
- 1:24:38Speaker 2: mindset of respect. I agree, but I do. Man, this
- 1:24:42Speaker 2: might get spicy here, we got time, But I think
- 1:24:47Speaker 2: equality can rub up against chivalry. Yes, okay, So like.
- 1:24:54Speaker 3: Because she is expecting something because she's a female, Yes
- 1:24:58Speaker 3: she is.
- 1:24:58Speaker 2: There's an expectation her that she's going to have a
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: seat that a gentleman is sitting at. That's that's an
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: entitlement issues it right. I mean that that's what people
- 1:25:06Speaker 2: would call that you feel entitled to that seat because
- 1:25:09Speaker 2: of who are what you are? And was she pregnant?
- 1:25:12Speaker 2: She was not pregnant. What's young she? Oh she was young? Yes,
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: she's young, see, probably in her mid early mid thirties.
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: I have to ask was she new to New York. Yeah,
- 1:25:23Speaker 2: it did not seem like it, buddy, it really didn't.
- 1:25:24Speaker 2: I mean, it just seems like that's something she's encountered
- 1:25:26Speaker 2: a lot, and she finally had enough of it, so
- 1:25:28Speaker 2: she decided to make a video and and I put
- 1:25:31Speaker 2: it up. And of course the comments are are kind
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: of splare parallel to what we're experiencing here. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: I mean you could make an argument for both sides.
- 1:25:38Speaker 3: I guess last month, I spent a couple hours on
- 1:25:40Speaker 3: the New York subway over several days, and I some
- 1:25:44Speaker 3: people get up. It's if it's someone who looks like
- 1:25:48Speaker 3: they need the seat, like an elderly woman or something.
- 1:25:51Speaker 3: You know, there were people standing up like would you
- 1:25:55Speaker 3: like to sit here? I did it as well. Yeah, sure,
- 1:25:58Speaker 3: you know, but it's just I think if you live there,
- 1:26:01Speaker 3: you kind of get into a routine. You probably get
- 1:26:04Speaker 3: someone jaded to it. Yeah yeah, maybe, so listen, I
- 1:26:07Speaker 3: got it. I worked all day, I got a seat.
- 1:26:08Speaker 3: I'm sitting here until my stop.
- 1:26:10Speaker 2: If you it looked at me like if you told
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: this guy, if you asked this guy what chivalry was,
- 1:26:14Speaker 2: he would say a whiskey. He would not he would
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: not even know what it is. But I mean he
- 1:26:19Speaker 2: he definitely you know when she said that, he kind
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: of clicked right into what she was asking and kind
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: of the idea what she was going for. And I
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: wish I could remember the first question the answer that
- 1:26:28Speaker 2: and he asked her if if they were equal, and
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: when he said when she said that, she goes, well,
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: then stand up, because if you and I are saying,
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: you stand right there. You wanted a quality, right, well
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: here's your quality blank oflf. I yeah, that's a little aggressive,
- 1:26:41Speaker 2: but I can't even asking somebody to stand up so
- 1:26:44Speaker 2: you can send it's pretty dmn aggressive. Yeah, but just
- 1:26:46Speaker 2: I mean having a spiel about equality. You could just
- 1:26:49Speaker 2: say no, I'm so sorry, And that's where I'm going.
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: I could see myself saying no, not every time, not
- 1:26:56Speaker 2: every time, but I could whoa. This is why I
- 1:26:59Speaker 2: have a hard day of work. I have an elderly
- 1:27:02Speaker 2: woman every day, every day, pregnant woman every day, twenty
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: four year old with yoga pants, ha ha, and I
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: just busted ass for ten hours and this is my
- 1:27:14Speaker 2: ride home.
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: I can see myself getting a little snappy in that scenario.
- 1:27:18Speaker 2: It's also something that's great when you offer it chivalrous acts,
- 1:27:23Speaker 2: but when it's asked of you, Oh yeah, that kind
- 1:27:26Speaker 2: of rubs a little different, Like like that's aitlement, right, man,
- 1:27:29Speaker 2: that's when somebody stand at a door and wait for
- 1:27:31Speaker 2: you to open it. You're gonna open that for me?
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: I'm like, yeah, yeah, okay. Isn't another key component of
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: this argument whether or not the woman expects it? Is
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: it or isn't it, like because is the onus of
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: chivalry always on the man? Or is it a situation
- 1:27:47Speaker 2: where if a woman wants to be treated like that,
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: she kind of like I go back and forth with
- 1:27:52Speaker 2: this in my own relationship. If I'm being dead honest,
- 1:27:55Speaker 2: and my wife would tell you the second. There are
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: a lot of times all open, but I'll almost always
- 1:27:59Speaker 2: open the door to a to a like of a
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: restaurant or whatever. But I don't rush to the open
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: her car door for her, and I don't get out
- 1:28:07Speaker 2: and walk around and open her car door then as well.
- 1:28:09Speaker 2: But there are people who feel that that's kind of
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: part of the entire package of being chivalrous, and now
- 1:28:14Speaker 2: I have to see it the card door.
- 1:28:16Speaker 3: It's like, you got this, no one's watching you. But
- 1:28:20Speaker 3: but if we have an audience, I'm going to get
- 1:28:21Speaker 3: that door for you.
- 1:28:22Speaker 2: And then this was the big, big plot twist. Mind
- 1:28:26Speaker 2: f of it all right, I know plenty of women,
- 1:28:30Speaker 2: plenty of girls who would be pissed off at that door.
- 1:28:34Speaker 2: Oh would be pissed off I opened up a door
- 1:28:36Speaker 2: for them. They'd be angry. But I know them. They
- 1:28:40Speaker 2: are my friends. I enjoyed them, I enjoy their company.
- 1:28:44Speaker 2: They would feel offended that you did that because they
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: can do it themselves kind of thing. I have absolutely,
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: I have ran across that. So they don't. Okay, so
- 1:28:53Speaker 2: let me ask this. And I'm not trying to be
- 1:28:55Speaker 2: accusatory here by any means, but so and they they're
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: upset about that. They think that you're taking something from
- 1:29:02Speaker 2: them and they can't.
- 1:29:03Speaker 11: They do.
- 1:29:03Speaker 2: They not show any appreciation for it. The Yeah, the
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: first response to an act like that, let's say, opening
- 1:29:10Speaker 2: up a door, would not be oh, thank you, Ross,
- 1:29:12Speaker 2: It would be why are you doing that? Yeah, you
- 1:29:15Speaker 2: don't need to do that for you. I can do that. Yeah,
- 1:29:17Speaker 2: that's fine. Somebody just texted and said, the videos like
- 1:29:19Speaker 2: that scene stage, I will promise you I agree with
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: that a lot of times and a lot of those.
- 1:29:22Speaker 2: You can tell this was not stage. This is a
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: woman who had had it. She'd obviously ridden this subway
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: a lot, and obviously had seen this scenario a lot,
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: and this was just the time she kind of broke
- 1:29:32Speaker 2: and make a video that that's exactly what it looked
- 1:29:34Speaker 2: like to me about and I'm a skeptic. Yeah, And
- 1:29:36Speaker 2: the question is, why do you think you deserve that seat?
- 1:29:39Speaker 2: If there's is that very thing she believes she deserves
- 1:29:44Speaker 2: the seat below. I'll tell you what I think, more
- 1:29:46Speaker 2: than she thinks she deserves the seat. This is the
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: vibe I gut. I think more than she thinks she
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: deserves the seat, she thinks somebody should offer it. I think, really,
- 1:29:56Speaker 2: to be honest with you, she could. She would have
- 1:29:58Speaker 2: probably said no, thank you, but the fact that no
- 1:30:01Speaker 2: one offered him. By the way, she scanned the entire
- 1:30:03Speaker 2: car before she isolated this one dude who happened to
- 1:30:06Speaker 2: be in front of her, and she said, look at
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: all these people just sitting not offering any females a
- 1:30:11Speaker 2: place to sit. So it was a thing for her.
- 1:30:14Speaker 3: So here's a situation that happens, I mean almost daily
- 1:30:18Speaker 3: here in our building, coming in into our lobby first floor.
- 1:30:23Speaker 3: You're walking up to the door. There's a woman five
- 1:30:25Speaker 3: feet behind you.
- 1:30:26Speaker 2: What do you do? I got that. I opened the
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: door and wait and you let her go through first? Absolutely?
- 1:30:31Speaker 3: Okay, five feet behind you, maybe seven feet behind you.
- 1:30:36Speaker 3: Another guy, what do you do?
- 1:30:38Speaker 2: I gotta tell you I kind of do the same thing,
- 1:30:40Speaker 2: and you ever get stuck, especially if you're a delivery guy.
- 1:30:44Speaker 2: I will actually go out of my way to make
- 1:30:46Speaker 2: it there, to make your job easier. Right, But you
- 1:30:50Speaker 2: let them go through first, ye? Or do you just
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: do the and you hold it open for them, like
- 1:30:54Speaker 2: you go through and hold it open for them for
- 1:30:56Speaker 2: them to grind. Oh yeah, I'll go through and hold
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: it open. I just the whole ia for me. I
- 1:30:59Speaker 2: just idea of holding the door open I think is
- 1:31:01Speaker 2: the courtesy issue. But if it's a.
- 1:31:03Speaker 3: Woman, you hold the door and you let her go
- 1:31:06Speaker 3: through first one hundred. But with the guy, you hold
- 1:31:09Speaker 3: it open and you just hold the door for them
- 1:31:11Speaker 3: to grab it. Listen, it goes hard kind of what
- 1:31:12Speaker 3: I do. It goes farther than that.
- 1:31:14Speaker 2: I mean when we leave the studio every night, when
- 1:31:17Speaker 2: we leave the studio, and deb will tell you I
- 1:31:20Speaker 2: forget sometimes, but when I remember, I will open the
- 1:31:23Speaker 2: door for her to leave here. I'll open the door
- 1:31:25Speaker 2: for her to get into the lobby. I will summon
- 1:31:27Speaker 2: the elevator when we leave the elevator, she leaves the
- 1:31:30Speaker 2: elevator first. When we leave the building, I will try
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: to remember to open the door for her to get
- 1:31:34Speaker 2: out of the building. And that's you know, that's Deborah.
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: We've met each other for years. Yeah, and you still
- 1:31:39Speaker 2: have to be nice towhere. But I will tell you something.
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: The interesting part about this is this, like when Scott
- 1:31:44Speaker 2: Brown was in on Tuesday, he does the same thing.
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: Like Scott has that chivalry thing. I don't know if
- 1:31:48Speaker 2: it's an age issue. Do you think younger dudes think
- 1:31:50Speaker 2: about stuff like this. No, you think there's not as much.
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: You think there's a breaking point maybe forty years old generationally.
- 1:31:55Speaker 5: Oh, I have.
- 1:31:57Speaker 2: I would have to think about it for a moment,
- 1:31:59Speaker 2: but I promise I have a dusty weed induced but
- 1:32:03Speaker 2: still accurate memory of there were times where trying to
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: be nice. Don't do that for me. I don't need that. Yeah,
- 1:32:13Speaker 2: but that's it. That's okay, Just hold that thought, all right.
- 1:32:16Speaker 2: Four seven nine four one text us seven seven zero
- 1:32:18Speaker 2: three one. We'll be back in the sect. We'll continue this.
- 1:32:31Speaker 8: Hey, the Reculvert crew, it's Sarah. What's up all this
- 1:32:34Speaker 8: stuff with this girl videoing this guy in the subway?
- 1:32:36Speaker 14: Right?
- 1:32:37Speaker 8: So, I personally do try to open doors for men
- 1:32:40Speaker 8: or women. I kind of like doing it for men
- 1:32:43Speaker 8: because they get a little happy, like, oh, this girl's
- 1:32:45Speaker 8: opening the door for me. But honestly, it's just a
- 1:32:47Speaker 8: good human being thing. You see somebody, just open the door.
- 1:32:51Speaker 8: As far as like giving up my feet for somebody,
- 1:32:54Speaker 8: it is definitely situational, but just be kind.
- 1:32:58Speaker 10: And rewind coming from a twenty six year old, I
- 1:33:02Speaker 10: always hold the door open for anybody who's coming through,
- 1:33:05Speaker 10: man or women. Like y'all, the woman goes first, the man,
- 1:33:09Speaker 10: you just kind of hand them the door.
- 1:33:11Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:33:12Speaker 10: But even if I go through the door, let it close,
- 1:33:16Speaker 10: and as it's closing, look over my shoulder. If I
- 1:33:18Speaker 10: see someone coming out, I'll stop and turn around and
- 1:33:20Speaker 10: grab the door for him real quick. And I'll sometimes
- 1:33:23Speaker 10: even apologize for just not being on it.
- 1:33:27Speaker 6: I'm not sure.
- 1:33:28Speaker 17: It's just it's what you do.
- 1:33:29Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right, buddy, it's just what you do.
- 1:33:30Speaker 13: You get really good content.
- 1:33:32Speaker 5: You guys.
- 1:33:33Speaker 20: I love it.
- 1:33:34Speaker 13: Chivalry is so important, but being nice as too. I
- 1:33:38Speaker 13: hold the door open for men and I do it
- 1:33:42Speaker 13: for women too, because I love everybody and I want
- 1:33:45Speaker 13: them to feel good and be happy. And then at
- 1:33:47Speaker 13: the same time, I'll say you look pret today because
- 1:33:51Speaker 13: that's good.
- 1:33:52Speaker 9: Oh.
- 1:33:52Speaker 13: I was going to ask you, Jim, do you walk
- 1:33:55Speaker 13: up to her car every night and make sure that
- 1:33:58Speaker 13: she gets in.
- 1:34:02Speaker 2: Interesting? Seven seven zero three one. That's how you text
- 1:34:07Speaker 2: us If you'd like to also leave a talk back,
- 1:34:08Speaker 2: It's easy and free. Our friends do it all the time.
- 1:34:10Speaker 2: You can as well. Grab the iHeartRadio app, go to
- 1:34:13Speaker 2: right to a real radio and use up Mike to
- 1:34:14Speaker 2: send your comment over to Jack and we'll get you
- 1:34:16Speaker 2: on the air. We do it all the time. I'm Jim.
- 1:34:19Speaker 2: There's jan Guilt and Ross is here as well. It's
- 1:34:22Speaker 2: true a couple good things there. I do not walk
- 1:34:26Speaker 2: Deap to her car every day, but her we walk
- 1:34:29Speaker 2: by her car on the way to my car. So
- 1:34:32Speaker 2: but when when it's when the time changes and in
- 1:34:36Speaker 2: the winter when it gets dark very early, I will
- 1:34:40Speaker 2: walk her to her car if she parks in another area,
- 1:34:43Speaker 2: and I make sure she gets in and if there's
- 1:34:45Speaker 2: anybody lurking around the building, which rarely ever happens, I
- 1:34:48Speaker 2: will certainly do that as well. Yeah, that's the right
- 1:34:51Speaker 2: thing to do. And that guy said it right. Do
- 1:34:53Speaker 2: you think this is geographical? You think more people in
- 1:34:57Speaker 2: the South adhere to shive US activities than people in
- 1:35:01Speaker 2: other areas of the country. Maybe out west, the West
- 1:35:04Speaker 2: Coast a little bit more progressive than the East Coast.
- 1:35:08Speaker 2: And of course the South, you know, is stuck in
- 1:35:11Speaker 2: the I'm not say stuck is adheres to these traditions
- 1:35:13Speaker 2: a little bit more than other areas like New York,
- 1:35:16Speaker 2: of course more progressive media. You think that hits stereotypically.
- 1:35:20Speaker 2: All I know is I grew up in Jersey, you
- 1:35:22Speaker 2: grew up in Florida, and we're pretty much on the
- 1:35:26Speaker 2: same page. Yeah, yeah, I would agree with that. I'll
- 1:35:28Speaker 2: stick my head out, I'll go Yeah, dude, Southern hospitality
- 1:35:32Speaker 2: is a thing. Go to an inner city waffle house,
- 1:35:34Speaker 2: go to a random rule one in Georgia. It's a
- 1:35:37Speaker 2: way different experience. Just go straw that out there. That's
- 1:35:40Speaker 2: all I'm gonna say. Why is it that waffle house
- 1:35:43Speaker 2: is the litmus test for all of this behavior, because, dude,
- 1:35:46Speaker 2: that is an absolute, stone cold, nailed it scenario for
- 1:35:51Speaker 2: the same way.
- 1:35:52Speaker 3: They use them to rate storm damages, because they're on
- 1:35:55Speaker 3: the present, they're everywhere. Yeah, and so yeah, it's a
- 1:35:58Speaker 3: good comparison tool. Dude, You'll be You'll get called a
- 1:36:00Speaker 3: fun seasonal vegetable over it. You know what a pumpkin
- 1:36:04Speaker 3: you're with pumpkin, Dude, you're gonna get all of the
- 1:36:08Speaker 3: one of those things, all all those little Southern idioms
- 1:36:11Speaker 3: where they're like, hey, baby doll, what's you name?
- 1:36:13Speaker 2: Now? All right, sweetheart, we got you well, sweet teeth,
- 1:36:16Speaker 2: thick of the mud. How can I help I go
- 1:36:18Speaker 2: to this? I go to Orlando waffle houses, they just go, yep, yeah,
- 1:36:25Speaker 2: I think I order my food now. Hey, you know
- 1:36:26Speaker 2: and and you know you also are. The talk back
- 1:36:29Speaker 2: also brought up another good point that Jack actually said
- 1:36:31Speaker 2: earlier is this. Let's say you're about to walk into
- 1:36:34Speaker 2: a place and you open the door and you notice
- 1:36:35Speaker 2: somebody a couple behind you. Right, you're holding the door
- 1:36:40Speaker 2: the for the female of the couple. But what happened
- 1:36:45Speaker 2: sometimes is is the male, once the woman enters the door,
- 1:36:49Speaker 2: the male will say, I'll hold this you go and
- 1:36:52Speaker 2: then I have to say no, buddy, I got you
- 1:36:54Speaker 2: go ahead.
- 1:36:54Speaker 5: You know that.
- 1:36:55Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, but it's kind of weird, like you that'll
- 1:36:57Speaker 2: even happen as well, but like I will hold it
- 1:36:59Speaker 2: for the dude in that scenario too, and sometimes the
- 1:37:02Speaker 2: dude will be like they'll go through and say thank you,
- 1:37:05Speaker 2: or sometimes they will literally stop and make you walk first.
- 1:37:07Speaker 2: We just got it weird.
- 1:37:08Speaker 3: But they're being respectful and showing appreciation for you holding
- 1:37:12Speaker 3: your door, and it's like, now let me do it.
- 1:37:14Speaker 2: So it's a four. I think it's showing a form
- 1:37:17Speaker 2: of respect, but they're also putting a stranger between them
- 1:37:20Speaker 2: and their wives.
- 1:37:21Speaker 3: Yeah, and then you also have to do that. You
- 1:37:23Speaker 3: got to reach over. He has to reach over you
- 1:37:26Speaker 3: to grab the door so you can then go forward.
- 1:37:29Speaker 3: And that's a little gag. That's a lot gay. You
- 1:37:35Speaker 3: better start questioning everything after that.
- 1:37:38Speaker 2: It's like an Eiffel door tower. Yeah, and especially as
- 1:37:41Speaker 2: you if you walk through, the due gives a little
- 1:37:42Speaker 2: pop on the ass. Thanks Palt, Thanks Bud, Thanks bum
- 1:37:45Speaker 2: you ever get caught. This is what me and Jagg
- 1:37:47Speaker 2: are just laughing really really hard about that about like
- 1:37:50Speaker 2: when you go when you leave an NBA game or
- 1:37:52Speaker 2: any type of big, big event. Then you open up
- 1:37:56Speaker 2: the door and you get stuck. Yeah, then there's a
- 1:37:59Speaker 2: train of what's the protocol?
- 1:38:01Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 1:38:01Speaker 2: Where do you? No one knows? Is it like traffic
- 1:38:05Speaker 2: you have to wait for like a space, like even
- 1:38:07Speaker 2: a space no one knows? Sliding yourself this way? You've
- 1:38:10Speaker 2: heard traffic light down the block.
- 1:38:11Speaker 22: When you get stuck on those big events, right, there's
- 1:38:16Speaker 22: just this moment of like Cliffhanger letting go, where you
- 1:38:20Speaker 22: just slowly, like with finesse, you slide your hand off
- 1:38:24Speaker 22: the door and you go sorry, rando.
- 1:38:26Speaker 2: Yeah, whoever hits the door, I hope you see it.
- 1:38:28Speaker 2: I look down that line and find out the dude,
- 1:38:31Speaker 2: I think I could take it. He gets mad. I
- 1:38:33Speaker 2: looked at that line on a good nut.
- 1:38:34Speaker 12: You dude, not you.
- 1:38:35Speaker 2: You're too big, too big, to big. It's you, buddy.
- 1:38:37Speaker 2: You get this now? I want to know because I
- 1:38:40Speaker 2: felt like I was pretty vulnerable in this last segment
- 1:38:42Speaker 2: by saying that if I weren't ten twelve hours, I'm
- 1:38:45Speaker 2: on a subway train. Yeah a if it's an old
- 1:38:48Speaker 2: woman who's asking for my seat all day twenty four
- 1:38:51Speaker 2: to seven, I got you what's that? What's that parameter?
- 1:38:53Speaker 2: What's old?
- 1:38:54Speaker 11: To you?
- 1:38:55Speaker 2: Very careful visually, it's gonna be a visual thing. Sixties
- 1:38:58Speaker 2: in the sixties, in the sixties all day, okay, And
- 1:39:01Speaker 2: to be honest with you, fifties as well. If you
- 1:39:04Speaker 2: will be careful there, you can be. I'm not saying
- 1:39:06Speaker 2: that's old because these coogs will want to let you
- 1:39:08Speaker 2: know they get themselves. I'm not saying fifty years old.
- 1:39:10Speaker 2: I'm knocking on that door pretty soon, my seasy. I'm
- 1:39:14Speaker 2: just And And if it's a young person, if they're
- 1:39:18Speaker 2: pregnant all day twenty four, that's lay on crutches and
- 1:39:21Speaker 2: he watches share carrying a bunch of bags whatever, headphones,
- 1:39:25Speaker 2: yoga pants and like a pair of Brooks with a
- 1:39:28Speaker 2: Stanley with a Stanley dog. I don't know if I
- 1:39:31Speaker 2: can help you out of my seat. And I want
- 1:39:34Speaker 2: to know are you guys doing that, because it's it's
- 1:39:37Speaker 2: a whole different message if you give up your seat
- 1:39:39Speaker 2: to the twenty four year old yoga pants wearing a
- 1:39:41Speaker 2: stand Well, you think it looks like a pickup mood? God, No,
- 1:39:44Speaker 2: it does not, it does, It doesn't, that.
- 1:39:47Speaker 3: Does I would in reality, he'd raither sit there and
- 1:39:50Speaker 3: watch that twenty four year old yoga pant girl saying stop.
- 1:39:53Speaker 3: There would be no possible way I can allow myself
- 1:39:57Speaker 3: to sit down. If somebody was a female on an
- 1:39:59Speaker 3: air and then need to de seed, I would immediately
- 1:40:02Speaker 3: stand up.
- 1:40:02Speaker 2: And offer it. What if they wanted to, if they
- 1:40:05Speaker 2: would turn around first. Yeah, but put.
- 1:40:08Speaker 3: Yourself in this guy situation. You had a video where
- 1:40:11Speaker 3: the young woman in her twenties confronted a man who
- 1:40:14Speaker 3: was sitting down, and you know, and suddenly when it's
- 1:40:18Speaker 3: being put upon you, it kind of has a different feel.
- 1:40:22Speaker 3: How would you feel if you were sitting there and
- 1:40:24Speaker 3: a woman said aren't you going to stand?
- 1:40:27Speaker 13: That is a.
- 1:40:28Speaker 2: Completely different question. That's that's a completely I think out
- 1:40:33Speaker 2: of spite, I would be good. I would probably say no,
- 1:40:35Speaker 2: I'm good. That's where I say no. If it was
- 1:40:37Speaker 2: the twenty four year old, the one that Ross just explained,
- 1:40:40Speaker 2: you know, like a workout mama, Yeah, and she and
- 1:40:42Speaker 2: she says aren't you gonna stand? I'd be like, I
- 1:40:44Speaker 2: don't know, bitch, Maybe you should have maybe you should
- 1:40:47Speaker 2: have asked me like, maybe there's a different way to
- 1:40:49Speaker 2: phrase that. I mean, I'm that guy say psiatica, I'm him,
- 1:40:54Speaker 2: but when you come at me like that, maybe I'm
- 1:40:56Speaker 2: not him. And then if you like, if you were
- 1:40:58Speaker 2: to give me a passive aggressive I like, if I
- 1:41:01Speaker 2: keep seeing like you don't even have to say anything,
- 1:41:03Speaker 2: but you keep giving me the look of like I
- 1:41:05Speaker 2: can't believe you're not giving me your seat. I could
- 1:41:09Speaker 2: see it. I could see after a long day of work,
- 1:41:11Speaker 2: I can see myself saying no. At at that point,
- 1:41:14Speaker 2: if you think they think they deserve it, at that point,
- 1:41:16Speaker 2: that's when you like start firing back stuff like this
- 1:41:18Speaker 2: scene is almost too soft, like I'm almost too comfortable.
- 1:41:22Speaker 2: I think I'm gonna ride. I want to continue to
- 1:41:23Speaker 2: ride past my exit. Another clause, if if mom kid
- 1:41:28Speaker 2: like any mom doesn't that you're you are going to
- 1:41:31Speaker 2: get the seat whatever you want. Yeah, Mom gets the seat.
- 1:41:36Speaker 2: Is there in a dude situation like an how old
- 1:41:38Speaker 2: does the guy have to be and do they have
- 1:41:40Speaker 2: to be like on an oxygen tank or on a
- 1:41:42Speaker 2: walker or something like that. I think old. I think old.
- 1:41:45Speaker 2: I don't think this is beyond women. I think old
- 1:41:47Speaker 2: dudes absolutely. I mean, by the way, does this get reversed?
- 1:41:52Speaker 2: Does a young woman stand up for an old man,
- 1:41:54Speaker 2: not in human history. No, I don't want to hear
- 1:41:59Speaker 2: from the ladies on the text service. Is that a thing?
- 1:42:01Speaker 2: I believe in it.
- 1:42:02Speaker 3: I believe that two that you know, Sarah and uh
- 1:42:05Speaker 3: Maria Bamford, Yeah, both said they would for gentlemen.
- 1:42:10Speaker 2: So I believe that that's the thing. I thought. Were
- 1:42:13Speaker 2: they talking about doors or seats? Well, doors, I extended
- 1:42:16Speaker 2: to see doors and seats radically different experience. Yeah, that's
- 1:42:19Speaker 2: a completely different machine. I can lay up on the
- 1:42:22Speaker 2: door opening. Yeah, day, it's not putting anything on you.
- 1:42:25Speaker 3: And if you're on the subway and you have you know,
- 1:42:27Speaker 3: one hundred blocks or twenty blocks to go and you
- 1:42:30Speaker 3: got to stay in instead of sick, that's a different experience.
- 1:42:33Speaker 2: A bigger ass. It bigger cost, Yeah.
- 1:42:37Speaker 3: Bigger ass for sitting. You should be standing. There was
- 1:42:41Speaker 3: this young lady. We were on the subway. It was
- 1:42:46Speaker 3: Friday night and she was standing there. This is recently, yeah,
- 1:42:50Speaker 3: last month, but yoga pants and all. Just like you described.
- 1:42:56Speaker 2: She got her hookahs on old spin class Mama, little
- 1:43:00Speaker 2: live laugh love tat behind the Apple watch. She was
- 1:43:03Speaker 2: definitely an exercise or maybe even ballet, don't know, because
- 1:43:10Speaker 2: the she was not holding on.
- 1:43:12Speaker 3: And on the subway, when you don't hold on, and
- 1:43:15Speaker 3: then the stops, you could tell she was really demonstrating
- 1:43:19Speaker 3: her core.
- 1:43:20Speaker 2: And so you know, I was trying to match her, right,
- 1:43:24Speaker 2: not creepy, it's not easy. Well you know what you
- 1:43:27Speaker 2: without being obvious, but I just realized, oh, she's not
- 1:43:30Speaker 2: holding on. I'm not gonna hold on. And then every
- 1:43:33Speaker 2: stop you get where like jerk you forward, and she's
- 1:43:36Speaker 2: like only stiffening her body and taking control. Jack look
- 1:43:41Speaker 2: at a woman like that and go you cagel. What
- 1:43:44Speaker 2: we did find out is that Jack looks at a
- 1:43:47Speaker 2: woman like that and matches her. Let me know, I'm
- 1:43:50Speaker 2: gonna do what you're doing. And it's all weird at all.
- 1:43:53Speaker 2: You don't notice. Have you taught your daughters this stuff?
- 1:43:55Speaker 2: Do they know about? Show you? My kids do? My daughter,
- 1:43:59Speaker 2: but I don't know. We got to I tell you,
- 1:44:00Speaker 2: I think I maybe only have one of my daughters
- 1:44:03Speaker 2: that kind of adheres to that, and I think the
- 1:44:05Speaker 2: other two daughters really don't give it a whole lot
- 1:44:07Speaker 2: of predoms. We have not discussed it. They've witnessed what
- 1:44:12Speaker 2: I have done, right right right, that's pretty much. And
- 1:44:15Speaker 2: that's kind of how I kind of learned it as well.
- 1:44:16Speaker 2: I just witnessed other people, and I will tell you,
- 1:44:18Speaker 2: I witnessed the reaction of the women who had it
- 1:44:21Speaker 2: done for them. And when you see the appreciation, you're like, oh,
- 1:44:24Speaker 2: that's cool. They dig that.
- 1:44:26Speaker 3: Like my young daughter who went with me and was
- 1:44:28Speaker 3: on the subway, is like, why is my dad staring
- 1:44:30Speaker 3: at this twenty something year old girl in yoga pants
- 1:44:33Speaker 3: not holding on anything.
- 1:44:34Speaker 2: It must be for content. Yeah, there's no, it's no
- 1:44:39Speaker 2: way creepy. For content. It was pretty damn impressive. She's
- 1:44:44Speaker 2: pretty tough. And it is true. Going back to that
- 1:44:46Speaker 2: last segment, is that I have felt in the past
- 1:44:49Speaker 2: of doing chivalrous things whatever the word is. I think, yeah,
- 1:44:55Speaker 2: Chiverro's things is that it has backfired. I don't want
- 1:44:59Speaker 2: you doing that. Yeah yeah. And it's also that's a
- 1:45:03Speaker 2: wild take for a woman to have that, you know, Listen,
- 1:45:06Speaker 2: I guess I understand the idea of it, but that
- 1:45:08Speaker 2: is a wild take. It's a subjective thing. Imagine. I
- 1:45:13Speaker 2: believe it's silver is for the man to pay for
- 1:45:15Speaker 2: the date right for dinner. I mean, I believe that,
- 1:45:20Speaker 2: but I think that that may be the part of
- 1:45:21Speaker 2: chivalry that's changed the most. But you see, because I
- 1:45:24Speaker 2: believe and the reason why though, I think women don't
- 1:45:27Speaker 2: want dates to seem transactional in the sense that, hey,
- 1:45:30Speaker 2: you bought me a steak, I owe some booty.
- 1:45:32Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:45:32Speaker 2: I think they want to rid themselves of that possibility
- 1:45:35Speaker 2: at all costs. I would say that's the thing that's
- 1:45:37Speaker 2: probably fallen the most. So then that aspect that looks
- 1:45:40Speaker 2: like chivalry became toxic. It was exploited and taken advantage of,
- 1:45:45Speaker 2: and that throughout like it became this stereotype of I'm
- 1:45:49Speaker 2: just buying you a dinner, I'm just trying to be nice. Right,
- 1:45:51Speaker 2: And now, because of it's a tool human history, the
- 1:45:55Speaker 2: message now comes, it is now sent with you know
- 1:45:58Speaker 2: what we're doing after this, right?
- 1:46:00Speaker 20: Yeah?
- 1:46:00Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah yeah. And that's a bummer. That's someone trying
- 1:46:04Speaker 2: to be good and trying to be nice and respectful
- 1:46:06Speaker 2: and caring. And then and I'm gonna tell you it
- 1:46:08Speaker 2: almost doesn't matter what.
- 1:46:10Speaker 13: Well.
- 1:46:10Speaker 2: I got to give an example. My wife's best friend
- 1:46:12Speaker 2: hangs out with us some shoot, we were all hanging
- 1:46:14Speaker 2: out last weekend, and she attempted to pay for a
- 1:46:17Speaker 2: round a drink and I just looked at her and
- 1:46:19Speaker 2: I said, that's not going to ever happen. You know,
- 1:46:21Speaker 2: that's not how we do things. You know, you're with us,
- 1:46:24Speaker 2: you are our invited guests. I pick up the tab
- 1:46:28Speaker 2: for stuff. If I wanted you to pay for it,
- 1:46:29Speaker 2: I'd ask you, hey, grab this round. Yeah, I wouldn't
- 1:46:32Speaker 2: have a problem with that. But you know that's if
- 1:46:34Speaker 2: you're with us and we ask you for that company,
- 1:46:36Speaker 2: I feel obligated to take care of those of those expenses.
- 1:46:39Speaker 2: And I try, Oh man, she might be mad if
- 1:46:42Speaker 2: I share this, But whats I try? My favorite story
- 1:46:45Speaker 2: start like, yeah, I try my best, my favorite nights
- 1:46:49Speaker 2: in the backseat of my cart team, you know, like
- 1:46:51Speaker 2: I want to be the most respectful, the best husband,
- 1:46:54Speaker 2: the best father, the best provider that I can be right,
- 1:46:57Speaker 2: And then there are some moments that I go, but
- 1:47:00Speaker 2: that's the complete opposite of how I great. What I
- 1:47:04Speaker 2: mean by this is that recently my wife and I
- 1:47:06Speaker 2: were at a restaurant and uh we I look. I
- 1:47:09Speaker 2: look up the bar menu, and I picked my drink
- 1:47:12Speaker 2: and then I go, oh, I know what you're getting.
- 1:47:14Speaker 2: You're getting that and she goes, oh, that's hot. Oh yeah,
- 1:47:17Speaker 2: and I was like, what, oh, yeah, she goes order
- 1:47:19Speaker 2: my drink for me. Yeah, and I went, what what's things?
- 1:47:26Speaker 2: I had no idea. I had no idea to be
- 1:47:29Speaker 2: to be like, yeah, she'll have the you know, the
- 1:47:31Speaker 2: apparall spirits. Absolutely. I was like, what, you're taking charges
- 1:47:35Speaker 2: the man. You're the man, You're the patriarch of the family.
- 1:47:38Speaker 2: You're taking charge. They love it. They love it. Yeah,
- 1:47:42Speaker 2: But I just didn't think it would come through the
- 1:47:44Speaker 2: avenue of ordering a drink. It's the it's the act.
- 1:47:48Speaker 2: It has nothing to do with the drink. It could
- 1:47:50Speaker 2: have been anything. Well, well, it could have been like,
- 1:47:52Speaker 2: you could have been her favorite appetizer. Well, I could
- 1:47:54Speaker 2: a raffle. I could have rattled a bunch of other
- 1:47:56Speaker 2: examples of like do you find this hot when I
- 1:47:58Speaker 2: mo well, yeah she does. Actually you know what they Oh,
- 1:48:02Speaker 2: you're ready for it. I'll get here's a cheat. Good
- 1:48:04Speaker 2: for you for relationships. Everybody out there, just don't pay
- 1:48:06Speaker 2: attention for a second if you do things around the house, right, Yeah,
- 1:48:11Speaker 2: that's one thing, and she appreciates that.
- 1:48:13Speaker 12: Right.
- 1:48:13Speaker 2: I gotta wear heels, Yeah, no, no, no, you don't
- 1:48:15Speaker 2: have to wear heels. Okay, if she doesn't have to
- 1:48:19Speaker 2: ask you to do it ten x on the effect
- 1:48:24Speaker 2: if you just went in there and and you guys
- 1:48:27Speaker 2: both knew there was like a closet door that wasn't
- 1:48:29Speaker 2: closing right or whatever, and you went in there and
- 1:48:32Speaker 2: just fixed it. She didn't have to ask you. She
- 1:48:34Speaker 2: didn't have to like harangue you about it. You just
- 1:48:36Speaker 2: did it. Dude. That's ten x points. All right, So
- 1:48:39Speaker 2: then I've done I've done that a handful of times.
- 1:48:44Speaker 2: All right. It's not my first rodeoka, but there it
- 1:48:47Speaker 2: opens up for possible bad news. Though. How's that? Because
- 1:48:51Speaker 2: if she don't notice it, but it doesn't matter, I'm
- 1:48:55Speaker 2: going to be like, at some point, not too long ago,
- 1:48:58Speaker 2: I filled up her gas tank. Yeah, oh yeah, I
- 1:49:00Speaker 2: don't know if she noticed, really, that's what I mean. Yeah,
- 1:49:02Speaker 2: I don't know how much attention she's paying to her
- 1:49:04Speaker 2: gas nang.
- 1:49:05Speaker 3: It's like dropping the tip at the counter in the
- 1:49:08Speaker 3: tip jar, but waiting until the counter person is looking
- 1:49:11Speaker 3: so they can see it.
- 1:49:13Speaker 2: I do it every single time. I will literally hover
- 1:49:17Speaker 2: it over the thing until you see it. Then I'll
- 1:49:19Speaker 2: make dead eye contact and drop it and I'll turn
- 1:49:21Speaker 2: it that they can see the number. I'll do. I'll
- 1:49:24Speaker 2: do these things, but then I kind of get paranoid
- 1:49:26Speaker 2: of like ope, gee notice, yeah, and then you've got
- 1:49:30Speaker 2: to hold back. You're like, hey, what's that over there? Well,
- 1:49:33Speaker 2: here's the thing that's a great little Easter egg in
- 1:49:35Speaker 2: your house, because eventually she's gonna go to that closet
- 1:49:38Speaker 2: and say, hey, dude, I thought this closet was broken,
- 1:49:40Speaker 2: and you'd be like, yeah, fixt it a couple weeks ago.
- 1:49:42Speaker 2: Oh really, Oh by the way, and then the boobs
- 1:49:44Speaker 2: come out. You're ordering an aparol sprits. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:49:47Speaker 2: you're having a spritz. Yeah, yeah, dude, that's hot. Order
- 1:49:53Speaker 2: me a drink. Wrong, No, order me a drink, Order
- 1:49:56Speaker 2: me a drink. I got on my good and Ones today.
- 1:49:59Speaker 2: It's not even Oh it's not even June. It is June. July, bitch, Yeah,

- 1:50:16Speaker 5: I'll little up here in Illinois now, and I will
- 1:50:18Speaker 5: tell you I really thought Midwestern people would be courteous
- 1:50:25Speaker 5: and chivalry and so I've never, and I was in
- 1:50:30Speaker 5: the Army. I traveled around the world experienced a ruder
- 1:50:33Speaker 5: group of people than I have in the Midwest.
- 1:50:36Speaker 2: Dan, I don't know why that is because you're from Georgia.
- 1:50:39Speaker 23: I'm here to ruffle feathers. I would say, if I'm

- 1:50:45Speaker 23: on said train and it's packed, pregnancy is a choice,

- 1:51:26Speaker 9: person in line because that would have been your rightful place?

- 1:51:52Speaker 2: Does that count? I don't know. If you old the

- 1:51:57Speaker 2: let you go to the line, they should do that.
- 1:52:00Speaker 2: I'm not trusting them, but you know, some people are
- 1:52:03Speaker 2: gonna be unaware. Man, Yeah, some people are gonna be
- 1:52:05Speaker 2: just unaware.
- 1:52:06Speaker 11: Yeap.
- 1:52:06Speaker 2: It's been a fun day to find out that we're
- 1:52:08Speaker 2: all monsters in our own way. Right exactly right now,
- 1:52:10Speaker 2: I'm getting out to see for the pregnant woman. Not

- 1:53:52Speaker 2: This is a real easy game. Buddy. Got a question
- 1:53:55Speaker 2: here for you. Four answers. One of these answers is
- 1:53:58Speaker 2: not true, but if you can find it, but I
- 1:54:00Speaker 2: will send you over sea jack and a Jackie sack
- 1:54:02Speaker 2: and you can find something nice for yourself. Are you ready?
- 1:54:05Speaker 2: Let's do it? Here you go, man. On this day
- 1:54:07Speaker 2: in eighteen fifty, American inventor Benjamin Lane receives a patent
- 1:54:11Speaker 2: for a gas mask with a breathing apparatus. Here are
- 1:54:14Speaker 2: three fun facts about gas masks and one death bird
- 1:54:18Speaker 2: of alive. All right, buddy, we're talking about gas masks.
- 1:54:21Speaker 2: Which one of these is not true? Number one, Adolf
- 1:54:24Speaker 2: Hitler originally wore a full mustache, but he trimmed it
- 1:54:28Speaker 2: to the current mustache so his gas mask would seal properly. Wow.
- 1:54:33Speaker 2: Number two. During World War Two, Walt Disney designed a
- 1:54:37Speaker 2: Mickey Mouse gas mask for kids to dampen the fear
- 1:54:40Speaker 2: of wearing it. Number three, there's an island in Singapore.
- 1:54:44Speaker 2: Will residence carry gas masks all the time because of
- 1:54:47Speaker 2: toxic volcanic emissions. Or lastly, charcoal made from fruit pits
- 1:54:52Speaker 2: and shells perform much better at trapping gases than charcoal
- 1:54:56Speaker 2: made from wood. Which of those is a lie? Uh,
- 1:55:00Speaker 2: let's go at Number one. No, that's absolutely true and
- 1:55:03Speaker 2: one of the craziest pieces of One of the craziest
- 1:55:06Speaker 2: pieces of trivia I've had since doing this game. Adolf
- 1:55:09Speaker 2: Hitler's mustache wasn't that by design. He used to wear
- 1:55:13Speaker 2: a full mustache like the old barbers in the Old West,
- 1:55:16Speaker 2: but his gas mask would not seal, so instead of
- 1:55:19Speaker 2: cutting it all off, he just cut the ends of
- 1:55:21Speaker 2: it off. That's where he got his iconic mustache. And
- 1:55:24Speaker 2: you know what Charlie Chaplin said about it. Nothing same guys,
- 1:55:29Speaker 2: all right? Ross one, two, three, or five. The dumbness
- 1:55:33Speaker 2: hard joke I've ever said. One one is the answer.
- 1:55:35Speaker 2: That's Kevin, Kevin, how you doing good? How good?
- 1:55:38Speaker 6: Boss?
- 1:55:38Speaker 2: Talking about gas masks? Which one of these isn't true?
- 1:55:40Speaker 2: Number one? During World War Two, Walt Disney designed a
- 1:55:43Speaker 2: Mickey Mouse gas mask for kids to dampen the fear
- 1:55:45Speaker 2: of wearing them. Number two. There's an island in Singapore
- 1:55:49Speaker 2: where residents carry gas masks all the time because of
- 1:55:51Speaker 2: toxic volcanic emissions. Or lastly, charcoal made from fruit pits
- 1:55:55Speaker 2: and shells perform much better at trapping gases than charcoal
- 1:55:58Speaker 2: made from wood. Let's go number three. No, that's absolutely true,
- 1:56:04Speaker 2: and one of the again. And it's like walnut and
- 1:56:06Speaker 2: pecan shells. They cook all that down or you know,
- 1:56:09Speaker 2: burn it all down with fruit pits, and for some reason,
- 1:56:11Speaker 2: because of the makeup of the shells, it's much more
- 1:56:14Speaker 2: effective at trapping gas than charcoal made from wood. And
- 1:56:18Speaker 2: the canisters have that chart that activated charcoal. All right, buddy,
- 1:56:21Speaker 2: two three or five?
- 1:56:22Speaker 14: Two?
- 1:56:23Speaker 2: Two?
- 1:56:24Speaker 6: Is ken? Ken?
- 1:56:25Speaker 2: How you doing? I'm going all right, good buddy, talking
- 1:56:28Speaker 2: about gas mask Get a fifty to fifty shot here?
- 1:56:30Speaker 2: Which one of these isn't true? Number one? During World
- 1:56:33Speaker 2: War Two, Walt Disney designed a Mickey Mouse gas mask
- 1:56:35Speaker 2: for kids to damp in the fear of wearing them.
- 1:56:38Speaker 2: Or there's an island in Singapore where residents carry gas
- 1:56:41Speaker 2: masks all times because of toxic volcanic emissions.
- 1:56:46Speaker 12: I think they're Disney.
- 1:56:47Speaker 13: One's a lie.
- 1:56:47Speaker 2: No, it's absolutely true, dude, Wow, absolutely true. A similar mustache.
- 1:56:54Speaker 2: See all right, Ross you're the your Sophie's choice today, buddy,
- 1:56:58Speaker 2: three or five? Five? Five is rocky? Rocky? How you doing, Hey, buddy,
- 1:57:04Speaker 2: you're doing really good. Right now. I got one thing.
- 1:57:07Speaker 2: All you have to do is just tell me this
- 1:57:08Speaker 2: is not true. There's an island in Singapore where residents
- 1:57:11Speaker 2: carry gas masks at all times because of toxic volcanic emissions.
- 1:57:17Speaker 2: It's not true. Can you tell me what island it is?
- 1:57:22Speaker 2: This does happen, by the way, it happens in Japan.
- 1:57:25Speaker 2: I'm gonna put you on the whole buddy, you are
- 1:57:26Speaker 2: a winner. Yeah, there's an island in Japan that's near
- 1:57:29Speaker 2: a volcano that emits some really toxic gases on occasion,
- 1:57:34Speaker 2: So people who live on that island have to have
- 1:57:36Speaker 2: a gas mask with them at all times or they
- 1:57:38Speaker 2: could be in big trouble. That sucks. Don't know about you, guys,
- 1:57:42Speaker 2: but that's kind of when I move. Yeah, that's what
- 1:57:45Speaker 2: I'm moving out a couple other things before we get
- 1:57:47Speaker 2: to the top of the hour and get some rostats here.
- 1:57:49Speaker 2: Gas masks were also made for during World War Two, animals, dogs,
- 1:57:55Speaker 2: and horses. Yeah, very good. Modern gas masks contain a
- 1:57:58Speaker 2: diaphragm that allows sold to speak to each other without
- 1:58:01Speaker 2: allowing toxic air in. But before you couldn't do that.
- 1:58:04Speaker 2: It was just a muffled sound order.
- 1:58:08Speaker 5: You know.
- 1:58:08Speaker 2: It's funny because this there are competing stories about this,
- 1:58:13Speaker 2: but there are there are ideas that gas masks actually
- 1:58:17Speaker 2: weren't made for any of the stuff that we think
- 1:58:18Speaker 2: they were made for. It was actually made for miners,
- 1:58:22Speaker 2: you know.
- 1:58:22Speaker 3: But okay, yeah, so and then last night, kids, but
- 1:58:25Speaker 3: guys who went and deep into the air and drop.
- 1:58:28Speaker 2: That's right there, you go, gas mask you ever? I
- 1:58:32Speaker 2: smoked out of one once I was one of I
- 1:58:34Speaker 2: did that when I was nineteen, and it's awful, all right, thoughts,
- 1:58:37Speaker 2: it's really really bad. You get smoked in your eyes
- 1:58:39Speaker 2: and then you it's Yeah. So for today's ross thoughts, okay,
- 1:58:45Speaker 2: speaking up smoking weed a little bit due we're having
- 1:58:48Speaker 2: too much fun in this room today, I kind of
- 1:58:51Speaker 2: stumbled across one of the more out there thoughts I've
- 1:58:55Speaker 2: ever had. There. We love measuring stuff. Who's we humans?
- 1:59:00Speaker 6: Oh?
- 1:59:00Speaker 2: I got Okay. You love a good measurement, love stats,
- 1:59:04Speaker 2: love stats. Yeah, but there's one unit of measurement that
- 1:59:09Speaker 2: I think jumps way out and it sticks out and no,
- 1:59:14Speaker 2: it's become everyone's part of their vocabulary. It's part of
- 1:59:18Speaker 2: the universe of being a human. But I think it's
- 1:59:20Speaker 2: time to take a moment and really talk about this
- 1:59:24Speaker 2: unit of measurement. After the break, we'll do that next Willy,
- 1:59:28Speaker 2: I'm super excited to hang out with you guys tomorrow
- 1:59:32Speaker 2: for the live broadcast at Mount Door, dragging my happy
- 1:59:34Speaker 2: ass all the way from Melbourne. It's gonna be a

- 1:59:40Speaker 2: I got your first moo beer too. Willy got your
- 1:59:43Speaker 2: for you and Mama T and Vick T. I got
- 1:59:45Speaker 2: you guys all four seven nine text us seven seven
- 1:59:51Speaker 2: zero three one. Welcome back. I am Jim Jackson is
- 1:59:55Speaker 2: right there. And Ross has some thoughts. Let's get them.
- 1:59:59Speaker 2: It's weird. Welcome movie, got them, It's funny. Buckle up.
- 2:00:03Speaker 2: Sometimes are regult. It's ross spelled like sauce. It's Ross thoughts.
- 2:00:11Speaker 2: Today's Ross Thoughts is brought to you by Mills A
- 2:00:13Speaker 2: or mills Air dot com. They helped me out with
- 2:00:15Speaker 2: my carrier ac unit. And by the way, to go outside,
- 2:00:18Speaker 2: it's hot, go inside my home it's cold. Why because
- 2:00:21Speaker 2: I called mills Are. You can call mills Are too
- 2:00:24Speaker 2: if you have any acy once questions needs Millsair dot com. Yeah,
- 2:00:30Speaker 2: best text in the game. Yeah, man, no question. I
- 2:00:32Speaker 2: don't know why got endSo me recently, but like I
- 2:00:35Speaker 2: just all these new thoughts. It's weird getting you know,
- 2:00:39Speaker 2: just new trains of thoughts. Like I got into Mark
- 2:00:43Speaker 2: Twain yesterday and I still am. Do you think you're
- 2:00:46Speaker 2: going through a maturation right now? Do you think that's happening?
- 2:00:50Speaker 2: I think so. Yeah, Yeah, I gotta look that word up,
- 2:00:52Speaker 2: and I think so maturing. Like you you're like you're
- 2:00:55Speaker 2: you're understanding your age. You uh are starting to are
- 2:00:59Speaker 2: starting to find there are things interesting rather than the
- 2:01:01Speaker 2: stuff you found as a juvenile. I would say, say,
- 2:01:04Speaker 2: your your your your scope is much bigger now and
- 2:01:08Speaker 2: one of the the biggest thing in within my scope
- 2:01:11Speaker 2: is the rest of the world. Yeah, I'm really getting
- 2:01:14Speaker 2: into uh let's say, like, you know, I try to
- 2:01:17Speaker 2: become a better citizen. I try to, you know, I
- 2:01:19Speaker 2: want to get more aware into politics. But if I
- 2:01:22Speaker 2: confuse Iran and Iraq for one more time, I'm morgan
- 2:01:28Speaker 2: on it. Yeah, you're looking for a greater breadth of information.
- 2:01:31Speaker 2: And the one thing that I kind of stumbled upon
- 2:01:34Speaker 2: was units of measurement. It's kind of funny what we
- 2:01:38Speaker 2: use as measurement around the world is pretty fascinating. Like
- 2:01:43Speaker 2: what's uh, what's a jiffy. I'll be there in a
- 2:01:45Speaker 2: jiffy within like two or three minutes fo or five
- 2:01:49Speaker 2: minutes old. Yeah, you see how a unit of mement
- 2:01:55Speaker 2: all of a sudden opens up. Because if you say
- 2:01:59Speaker 2: a jiffy in New York, like I would think that's
- 2:02:01Speaker 2: gonna be a little bit longer, you think you're walking.
- 2:02:04Speaker 2: The nature of the word itself means quick, Like i'll
- 2:02:07Speaker 2: be there in a jiffy means i'll be there in
- 2:02:09Speaker 2: a in just a few minutes or a few seconds. Well,
- 2:02:11Speaker 2: let's say you're at home and we're here at work
- 2:02:13Speaker 2: and we're waiting on you and we're talking, what are
- 2:02:16Speaker 2: you gonna be I'll be here, I'll be there in
- 2:02:17Speaker 2: a jiffery. Well that at that point, that would mean
- 2:02:19Speaker 2: you know how long it takes me to get here
- 2:02:21Speaker 2: from home, So they would be within like five minutes
- 2:02:24Speaker 2: of that. Like let's say you, let's do it even easier.
- 2:02:26Speaker 2: You're sitting in your office and I'm in the studio
- 2:02:28Speaker 2: and I said, uh, hey, do come here for a second.
- 2:02:30Speaker 2: I gotta ask you something. You say, I'll be there
- 2:02:31Speaker 2: in a jiffy. I'm gonna expect you in the next
- 2:02:34Speaker 2: three to five minutes. That's that's that's the way. It's
- 2:02:39Speaker 2: a jiffy. But it's also subjective, but it's not. It's
- 2:02:43Speaker 2: a spectrum, the idea from what life jiffy to everyone.
- 2:02:49Speaker 2: And you gotta look inside in your own heart to
- 2:02:52Speaker 2: find out what your jiffy means. So ask me if
- 2:02:54Speaker 2: I'm gonna be ask me if I'm coming over. Are
- 2:02:56Speaker 2: you coming over? I'll be there in a few Okay,
- 2:03:00Speaker 2: what's two hours? Few minutes? Yeah right? I mean few
- 2:03:03Speaker 2: could be a bunch. Jiffy means something, yeah, but few jiffy.
- 2:03:08Speaker 2: Few and jiffy are kind of twins to me. How
- 2:03:12Speaker 2: about this one? That is such a damn good topic?
- 2:03:16Speaker 2: Like that jiffy thing is? I never expected that in
- 2:03:18Speaker 2: a million years.
- 2:03:19Speaker 7: That's good.
- 2:03:19Speaker 2: What do you think about like I think about man power?
- 2:03:25Speaker 2: Have you heard like a man?
- 2:03:26Speaker 23: Yeah?
- 2:03:27Speaker 2: Right, thinks of man power? Which men? Which men are
- 2:03:32Speaker 2: we talking about? Because I got a couple of friends,
- 2:03:34Speaker 2: including myself. Man, we got soft wrists. We ate the
- 2:03:38Speaker 2: manliest powerful men on the planet. Yeah, because if somebody
- 2:03:42Speaker 2: asked you, hey, are you guys gonna be able to
- 2:03:43Speaker 2: move this, You're like, look, I'm coming with a couple
- 2:03:44Speaker 2: of guys. We got some man power. I think most people,
- 2:03:47Speaker 2: if they heard that, they would expect maybe, you know,
- 2:03:49Speaker 2: at least some dudes that look like me and Jack.
- 2:03:51Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 2:03:51Speaker 2: I better see some times. I better see some steel tail.
- 2:03:55Speaker 2: But if I see vans, I know this is multiple trips.
- 2:03:59Speaker 2: You better sere with three concrete mics. Uh yeah Uh.
- 2:04:04Speaker 2: A big thing on the internet is always like a bananas.
- 2:04:10Speaker 2: Oh yeah, you know, like they always put like bananas
- 2:04:12Speaker 2: up against something that you can get an idea. But
- 2:04:15Speaker 2: I also think, like I don't know, dude, bananas come
- 2:04:18Speaker 2: in kind of different shapes. You throw a plantain on
- 2:04:20Speaker 2: that thing that that plant ain is gonna be a
- 2:04:22Speaker 2: little bit girthy. It's gonna be offensive to some people.
- 2:04:25Speaker 2: If you give me the choice between banana and plantain,
- 2:04:28Speaker 2: I'm banana all day.
- 2:04:29Speaker 23: Dog.
- 2:04:29Speaker 2: Yes, the number one And we talked about this on
- 2:04:33Speaker 2: Good Sauce this week and I'm still stuck on it.
- 2:04:36Speaker 2: The number one unit of measurement that maybe we should
- 2:04:40Speaker 2: question a little bit. Horsepower. It is the most marketable
- 2:04:45Speaker 2: number when it comes to a car. It's the number
- 2:04:47Speaker 2: that people kind of like, Yeah, but how many horses?
- 2:04:51Speaker 2: And I would like to know what kind of mood
- 2:04:53Speaker 2: those horses were in that day? Which horses. There are donkeys,
- 2:04:58Speaker 2: you know, like Budwiser horses. There's Budwiser horses, and there's
- 2:05:02Speaker 2: prancy horses that can pull that cart.
- 2:05:04Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 2:05:04Speaker 2: Yeah, there are horses that just dance.
- 2:05:07Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 2:05:07Speaker 2: I don't want prancy horses. I don't want Arabian nights horses.
- 2:05:10Speaker 2: I want Budweiser pulling horses. And then I looked it
- 2:05:13Speaker 2: up recently and that the guys those are horses. The
- 2:05:17Speaker 2: guy who came up with the term horse power, he
- 2:05:21Speaker 2: was also selling engines, right, Yeah, so the actual number
- 2:05:27Speaker 2: and equation of what one horse power actually is, which
- 2:05:31Speaker 2: I forgot. I forget. It's a type of poll.
- 2:05:33Speaker 13: Uh.
- 2:05:34Speaker 2: I should probably have that for this segment. I'll get
- 2:05:36Speaker 2: to it the But what he did was he overestimated
- 2:05:40Speaker 2: the power of a horse so he could sell more engines.
- 2:05:43Speaker 2: Oh so what he What you're saying is when you
- 2:05:45Speaker 2: know something has one horsepower. The engine at one horse
- 2:05:49Speaker 2: power is actually stronger than a horse. Yeah, one horse yes,
- 2:05:53Speaker 2: I believe so.
- 2:05:54Speaker 3: Really yeah, a dianometer is it dynamometer? Dynamometer but no, no, no,
- 2:06:02Speaker 3: the equipment that is so the horsepower represents a power
- 2:06:10Speaker 3: required to lift five hundred and fifty pounds by one
- 2:06:12Speaker 3: foot and one second is measured using a piece of
- 2:06:15Speaker 3: equipment called a dynamo.
- 2:06:17Speaker 2: Short dino for a short. So when you have a
- 2:06:19Speaker 2: race car or a big truck or whatever, you want
- 2:06:21Speaker 2: to find out how much horsepower it has, they roll
- 2:06:23Speaker 2: it up on this thing. There's a big wheel on it,
- 2:06:25Speaker 2: and then you go through the gears and it tells
- 2:06:27Speaker 2: you how much horsepower you have. And then so just
- 2:06:31Speaker 2: reading right here, one horse power is equal to approximately
- 2:06:34Speaker 2: seven hundred and forty five point seven watts. And guess
- 2:06:38Speaker 2: what horse power was invented by You guessed it? James
- 2:06:42Speaker 2: Watt Oh really, a Scottish engineer in the late eighteenth century. Yeah,
- 2:06:46Speaker 2: but you know it's wild, kind of like a marketing
- 2:06:48Speaker 2: ployee for him to flip more engine. You Actually, I'm
- 2:06:51Speaker 2: gotta tell you something, dude. You may be right. I'll
- 2:06:52Speaker 2: tell you why. Because electric engines I think are the
- 2:06:56Speaker 2: best tell of this, right, if you have a one
- 2:06:59Speaker 2: horse power electric motor, it is unbelievably strong, like a
- 2:07:04Speaker 2: one horsepower electric motor and correct. And you guys out
- 2:07:07Speaker 2: there to know this better than me in my experience,
- 2:07:10Speaker 2: Like when you have a one horsepower electric motor, that
- 2:07:12Speaker 2: thing could do work, dude, And so you may be
- 2:07:14Speaker 2: right there. And one horsepower this was the big stat
- 2:07:17Speaker 2: that I was looking for. One horse power was calculated
- 2:07:19Speaker 2: as a horse doing thirty three thousand foot pounds of work. Damn.
- 2:07:25Speaker 2: So he that's the number that I believe he inflated for, Like, dude,
- 2:07:29Speaker 2: these engines are the future. Yeah, they they will take
- 2:07:33Speaker 2: They'll take the place of thirty of your horses. This
- 2:07:36Speaker 2: this is going to take the place of forty horses.
- 2:07:40Speaker 2: And then he would just keep hump jumping the horse
- 2:07:41Speaker 2: power number until he started flipping engines. I think Jiffy's
- 2:07:44Speaker 2: harder to kind of goes. I'll look over to the
- 2:07:46Speaker 2: texting service when you mentioned Jippy and are like, oh, yeah,
- 2:07:48Speaker 2: it's a tenth of a second. I'm like, it's not.
- 2:07:50Speaker 2: It's definitely not a tenth of a second now, And
- 2:07:53Speaker 2: it's like the speed of light how's how is this?
- 2:07:56Speaker 2: This is kind of my favorite unit of measurement, and
- 2:07:59Speaker 2: then we'll skit out after this. Have you ever heard
- 2:08:01Speaker 2: of shake shake shake? Like sahk e. Yeah, I had
- 2:08:06Speaker 2: not heard that.
- 2:08:07Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 2:08:07Speaker 2: I always thought it was what was at the bottom too. Yeah, yeah,
- 2:08:10Speaker 2: it's actually not. It's ten nano seconds. Oh is it really? Yeah?
- 2:08:14Speaker 2: And there's so many different little terms for like, oh,
- 2:08:17Speaker 2: you don't know what equiz a quadal is, dude, it's
- 2:08:21Speaker 2: four and a half minutes. And you're like, there's so
- 2:08:24Speaker 2: many of these on the planet, and I just recently
- 2:08:26Speaker 2: just kind of went down the wormhole of really finding
- 2:08:29Speaker 2: them interesting that like I was watching something it and
- 2:08:31Speaker 2: just said, like, you know, this is ten football fields.
- 2:08:34Speaker 2: And everyone knows about the football fields because it's very
- 2:08:37Speaker 2: easy for us to understand. But to be honest with you,
- 2:08:40Speaker 2: when they say football fields, I think the same thing
- 2:08:42Speaker 2: every time, with or without the end zones. I think
- 2:08:47Speaker 2: the football field is without is without it, it's such,
- 2:08:51Speaker 2: it's one hundred yards. It's one hundred yards, and that's
- 2:08:53Speaker 2: a line, the goal line. But a football field, as
- 2:08:55Speaker 2: you know, it is one hundred and twenty yards. So
- 2:08:57Speaker 2: when they say this is how many football fields. This
- 2:09:00Speaker 2: is man, that's come on, dude, I just throw so exhausted.
- 2:09:06Speaker 2: You're like having a two year old that tells you
- 2:09:08Speaker 2: about their dream every day.
- 2:09:09Speaker 3: Official time for a Jiffy is ten minutes where you
- 2:09:12Speaker 3: can get your oil changed.
- 2:09:13Speaker 2: Oh stop, that's not it, Jim. It's one nanosecond. I
- 2:09:16Speaker 2: hear you. That's a Jiffy. That's not that sounds crazy.
- 2:09:20Speaker 2: He doesn't like anything.
- 2:09:23Speaker 7: We all know.
- 2:09:25Speaker 2: We all know that. Nobody's like, hey, come here, I'll
- 2:09:26Speaker 2: be there in a jiffy. Nobody's like a jiffy is instantaneous.
- 2:09:29Speaker 2: A nanosecond is like instant When we go to break,
- 2:09:32Speaker 2: you'll say we'll be back in a second. Everybody knows that.
- 2:09:36Speaker 2: Everybody knows it's just a just a term. My mind
- 2:09:42Speaker 2: is breaking stuff just now. I will be back in
- 2:09:45Speaker 2: a jiffy. No one ever says we'll be back in
- 2:09:47Speaker 2: a jiffy. I'm here, back in one second, all right.
- 2:09:54Speaker 2: We all need to cool down, which we is possible
- 2:09:57Speaker 2: because Mills Air millsair dot com. Today's rostots is brought
- 2:10:01Speaker 2: to my Mill's air drop your favorite unit of measurement.
- 2:10:03Speaker 2: I'm curious. Blue Whale's a big one. Hand is a
- 2:10:06Speaker 2: big one acre. There's so much fun. I'm out all right.
- 2:10:10Speaker 2: Four seven nine one six one of four one text
- 2:10:12Speaker 2: us seven seven zero three one back in a jiffy
- 2:10:15Speaker 2: here on the Jim Colbert Show.
- 2:10:23Speaker 20: Hey twitchers from Castlebury.
- 2:10:25Speaker 4: Here's what my grandma used to say. I'll be there
- 2:10:28Speaker 4: in two shakes of a lamb's tail.
- 2:10:30Speaker 2: Now you tell me I don't know anyway, suirrels. Hey guys.
- 2:10:36Speaker 20: Years ago, I had a boss at this apartment facility
- 2:10:39Speaker 20: that used to tell me that I was man handling
- 2:10:42Speaker 20: the paint machine, which was from nineteen thirty, and I
- 2:10:45Speaker 20: kept breaking down.
- 2:10:46Speaker 2: He kept seeing, are you man handling the paint machine?
- 2:10:49Speaker 20: What does that even mean?
- 2:10:50Speaker 5: Bro?
- 2:10:51Speaker 12: Tell me?
- 2:10:51Speaker 13: Dog?
- 2:10:52Speaker 2: Hey Colbert, Crupan and a foody chucking in as a
- 2:10:56Speaker 2: Fourth of July reminder to leave your damn Hamburgers alone.
- 2:11:00Speaker 2: You don't need to constantly flipping ments. Quisham flipping ments quish.
- 2:11:03Speaker 19: When you say listen to the sound of the hiss
- 2:11:05Speaker 19: of that fire, what you're really saying is listen to
- 2:11:07Speaker 19: all the juiciness and flavor lead the hamburgers, or you
- 2:11:10Speaker 19: squished the crap.
- 2:11:11Speaker 4: Out of them, leave them alone.
- 2:11:12Speaker 2: Three flips maximum is all you need. He's right.
- 2:11:17Speaker 6: Well, hey guys, happy day Happy Nope, it's my frienday,
- 2:11:21Speaker 6: not yours Friday, but happy enjoy weekend.
- 2:11:23Speaker 12: How's that?
- 2:11:24Speaker 6: The most important part about holding the door for somebody
- 2:11:27Speaker 6: is if they don't say thank you. If they don't
- 2:11:29Speaker 6: say thank you, I kind of want to grab them
- 2:11:31Speaker 6: hold their head between the door and the door gam
- 2:11:34Speaker 6: seventeen times. Yeah, it's a bit aggressive, but I just
- 2:11:36Speaker 6: want to look at like you're welcome. I just if
- 2:11:39Speaker 6: I hold the door for you, say yeah.
- 2:11:41Speaker 2: How do you folks?
- 2:11:42Speaker 18: Kurt here, Kurt about the chivalry thing. I'm a little
- 2:11:44Speaker 18: surprised you guys haven't touched on the toilet seat issue.
- 2:11:46Speaker 18: You know, I was raised with a sister, you know
- 2:11:48Speaker 18: I so I kind of developed this method that I
- 2:11:50Speaker 18: think is a little equal for everyone. Instead of the
- 2:11:53Speaker 18: whole question. Seat up, seat down. Anytime you go, no
- 2:11:57Speaker 18: matter what you're doing, you put the seat and the
- 2:11:58Speaker 18: lid down. That way, the next person who goes, whether
- 2:12:01Speaker 18: they're a man or a woman, has to bend down
- 2:12:03Speaker 18: and lift something up.
- 2:12:05Speaker 10: Equality style, guys sport from duvaud Now, you guys asked
- 2:12:11Speaker 10: a question, how old does a man have to be?
- 2:12:13Speaker 2: Before he can receive the seat. I'm gonna say that,
- 2:12:17Speaker 2: jim cobrat age, because if.
- 2:12:19Speaker 16: You can't paddle us one but without going in a
- 2:12:21Speaker 16: complete circle in the middle of the pond, you can go.
- 2:12:23Speaker 2: Ahead and have a seat. Jimmy, that's not even true.
- 2:12:25Speaker 2: What are you doing? Twenty five year old girls said that?
- 2:12:30Speaker 2: Did you neverthing? Know? A lot of people came out
- 2:12:33Speaker 2: and said that. Somebody, somebody did say that padlinum is
- 2:12:38Speaker 2: way more difficult than you think it is. But guys,
- 2:12:41Speaker 2: I'm an athlete. I you were an athlete. I'm an athlete.
- 2:12:47Speaker 2: You were an athlete. You played baseball back in the eighties,
- 2:12:51Speaker 2: skateboard at a pretty good level for a while in
- 2:12:54Speaker 2: the eighties, for a while the nineteen eighties. Let mean golfer. Golfer,
- 2:13:02Speaker 2: you are a golf and you walk. You are a
- 2:13:04Speaker 2: golf I don't want to He rarely uses the golf
- 2:13:06Speaker 2: car and I use it all the time, and I
- 2:13:08Speaker 2: drive right for the ground, play from it. You play
- 2:13:10Speaker 2: in the seventies, I played polo. I do play this.
- 2:13:17Speaker 2: You go be proud of that. Yeah, I would play
- 2:13:19Speaker 2: in the seventies when I'm in my seventies. That's the
- 2:13:21Speaker 2: game there. You know, it's also very frustrated. Hold on
- 2:13:24Speaker 2: real quick, welcome back. I'm Jim Jack and Rosser hair
- 2:13:26Speaker 2: as well. Uh we hit bombs. Well, you hit the
- 2:13:29Speaker 2: golf ball very far. Not bad for my age. I'll
- 2:13:33Speaker 2: get even close to back. I'll give myself that compliment.
- 2:13:36Speaker 2: I hit it, I don't hit it bad for my age.
- 2:13:38Speaker 2: That's what I can say. Every time he takes this
- 2:13:41Speaker 2: swaying dude, I'm like, oh, we're going to war. Yeah, man,
- 2:13:44Speaker 2: we gotta rip it again to them that things over
- 2:13:46Speaker 2: the pond. Dude, you just sent that bad boy to
- 2:13:49Speaker 2: afghanastand we're back. Ross beat you once, right, Uh? One time?
- 2:13:53Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 2:13:53Speaker 2: I mean you know, I mean one time, I want
- 2:13:56Speaker 2: to say, and I had to miss the put of
- 2:13:57Speaker 2: the last. We have that on Villain on video. I
- 2:14:00Speaker 2: slid a little six footer right on the high side
- 2:14:02Speaker 2: and you beat me and you can see him in
- 2:14:03Speaker 2: the background doing the fix. But yes, I think we
- 2:14:06Speaker 2: what do you shoot that day? We both shot like, yeah,
- 2:14:08Speaker 2: we have both every time we have gone against each other,
- 2:14:11Speaker 2: it's not been a great day for either one of them.
- 2:14:13Speaker 2: I think we actually pay pretty well that day. I
- 2:14:14Speaker 2: think you shot like seventy seven or something that day,
- 2:14:16Speaker 2: and I think I shot like maybe seventy. I just
- 2:14:19Speaker 2: remember the first couple of times being blown away. But like, dude,
- 2:14:22Speaker 2: this guy's hitting it eight. What the hell he's not
- 2:14:26Speaker 2: supposed to be. That's like the only thing I do
- 2:14:28Speaker 2: right as pulling out an aid iron, I'm like an iron. Yeah, yeah,
- 2:14:33Speaker 2: all right, well here here's my six. Hey, when did
- 2:14:35Speaker 2: the when does the American play again? Monday night? Monday
- 2:14:39Speaker 2: night and Belgium the night We're off very nice Yep,
- 2:14:41Speaker 2: it's going to be epic. It is a night match. Yes,
- 2:14:46Speaker 2: it's the night one. Okay, Uh what stadium are they
- 2:14:48Speaker 2: playing in? Seattle? Seattle, Yeah city, which is kind of
- 2:14:51Speaker 2: looked at as Yeah, it is a huge soccer for
- 2:14:55Speaker 2: the US fan base, for not just the US, but
- 2:14:58Speaker 2: like the Seattle Sounders, the highest ticketed MLS team. I
- 2:15:02Speaker 2: would say, I think That's what I'm saying is I
- 2:15:04Speaker 2: believe that, you know, is for the MLS in America,
- 2:15:06Speaker 2: like Seattle would be considered like the hot market. Yeah,
- 2:15:09Speaker 2: and we could. And I believe that stadium there is
- 2:15:11Speaker 2: like one of the most difficult to play in, right
- 2:15:13Speaker 2: because it's really loud. They show out for that team.
- 2:15:16Speaker 2: Pretty hardcore. Oh my god, eight pm. I didn't even
- 2:15:18Speaker 2: think about that that it's in the Seahawks stadium. Yeah,
- 2:15:21Speaker 2: and that is looked at as one of the loudest.
- 2:15:24Speaker 2: That's so cool. Sel Yeah, Kansas City and Seattle, I think,
- 2:15:28Speaker 2: are considered the two most difficult stadiums to play NFL
- 2:15:31Speaker 2: football games in. If I remember right, I believe you're
- 2:15:34Speaker 2: onto something all right for a seven nine one six
- 2:15:36Speaker 2: one four one text us seven seven zero three When
- 2:15:38Speaker 2: I asked this question a little bit earlier, and we'll
- 2:15:41Speaker 2: end up the show with us today. I found this,
- 2:15:43Speaker 2: you know, with the World Cup here, there's a lot
- 2:15:45Speaker 2: of and of course the two fiftieth being upon us
- 2:15:48Speaker 2: this weekend, there's a lot of like Americana stuff in
- 2:15:51Speaker 2: the news, which I find painfully interesting.
- 2:15:53Speaker 3: Yeah, Prince of the Island sent a talk like he's
- 2:15:56Speaker 3: mad we're not playing enough patriotic music. Oh really, because
- 2:15:59Speaker 3: you know we that's what we do here. Yeah, we
- 2:16:01Speaker 3: do a music Hey, they don't do that really.
- 2:16:04Speaker 2: And it was a it's a Yahoo story and it
- 2:16:07Speaker 2: says what does it mean to dress like an American?
- 2:16:10Speaker 2: And I found that quite interesting, Like if you guys
- 2:16:13Speaker 2: were to point out, because I think we all kind
- 2:16:16Speaker 2: of admit, right, like when we see people dress a
- 2:16:18Speaker 2: certain way, Like if I see a guy and he's
- 2:16:20Speaker 2: wearing like capri pants and some slippers and like a
- 2:16:24Speaker 2: cropped shirt that's like right at his belt and a scarf,
- 2:16:28Speaker 2: that dude's an American. That's a very euro Centric way
- 2:16:32Speaker 2: to dress. They dress considerably more like progressive than us.
- 2:16:36Speaker 2: They take fashion and style way more seriously than us.
- 2:16:40Speaker 2: And there was one word they used in this story
- 2:16:44Speaker 2: all the time, and they say, you can dress like
- 2:16:45Speaker 2: an American without wearing this jeans. Jeens. Denim is the answer, right,
- 2:16:50Speaker 2: So they think that, like anything, denim really designates you
- 2:16:54Speaker 2: as an American. Do you know that in nineteen ninety four,
- 2:16:58Speaker 2: our World Cup jersey was to be looked at as denim?
- 2:17:01Speaker 11: Oh?
- 2:17:02Speaker 2: Really? Like if you look at the ninety four World
- 2:17:04Speaker 2: Cup jersey, it's made it's not made out of Denham,
- 2:17:08Speaker 2: but it's got like denim print essentially on that ninety
- 2:17:12Speaker 2: four kid. Oh really, that's interesting. I didn't know that
- 2:17:14Speaker 2: so fulfilling. I only bring that up is because, like
- 2:17:17Speaker 2: it's accurate. We wear a lot of denim. It's part
- 2:17:20Speaker 2: of our culture. They're saying, like a wide leg jeans,
- 2:17:22Speaker 2: puffy cropped coats and gats, be approved tennis shirts. Those
- 2:17:26Speaker 2: are things like flag sweaters and skate sneakers and prairie skirts,
- 2:17:31Speaker 2: moccasins and bonnets and stuff like that. Like that's all
- 2:17:35Speaker 2: dressing very American bonnets. Well the back in the day.
- 2:17:39Speaker 2: Oh okay, yea, they made a comeback, yeah a lot more.
- 2:17:43Speaker 2: I don't think they've made a combat. What does it
- 2:17:46Speaker 2: mean to you? I mean, just like how you dress
- 2:17:48Speaker 2: every day like American? I mean, do you think that
- 2:17:50Speaker 2: if we went over to Europe like dressed like we
- 2:17:52Speaker 2: went come to work every day, then immediately they would
- 2:17:55Speaker 2: have us peg for America? You think so?
- 2:17:57Speaker 3: I think that's that's a thing. Is like when you
- 2:18:00Speaker 3: go over they talk about that it's so easy to
- 2:18:03Speaker 3: spot the Americans by how they dress.
- 2:18:04Speaker 2: And think about this for us as well, when with
- 2:18:07Speaker 2: the Brits or anybody from ur it comes here to
- 2:18:10Speaker 2: uh to enjoy the parks. When you're out there, you
- 2:18:12Speaker 2: could spot them a mile away. Yeah. Like you like
- 2:18:14Speaker 2: if you're at a restaurant and a and a family
- 2:18:16Speaker 2: gets up without hearing them say a word, You're like,
- 2:18:18Speaker 2: they're not from here. Yeah, you just gotta know they're
- 2:18:20Speaker 2: not from here. Is that a sunburn and a bad mulling?
- 2:18:27Speaker 2: I think I got an idea.
- 2:18:28Speaker 3: But jeans, untough shirts, sneakers at.
- 2:18:34Speaker 2: Is that sun poisoning in a protruding eye tunes?
- 2:18:38Speaker 3: The Yeah, that whole sunscreen thing catches them by surprise
- 2:18:41Speaker 3: every you know, the it's hard.
- 2:18:44Speaker 2: It's a hard question because it's kind of you can
- 2:18:46Speaker 2: get into some hot water by defining American, right, you know,
- 2:18:51Speaker 2: that can be a little bit controversial. So I'll just
- 2:18:53Speaker 2: wipe that controversy away and say what my American looks like. Dude,
- 2:18:57Speaker 2: it's one of them good old boys. You gotta PFG
- 2:19:00Speaker 2: shirt on right, We are overweight, we have a beard.
- 2:19:05Speaker 2: It is a camel hat, jeans, and probably like rock
- 2:19:10Speaker 2: with no legs or a car company shirt like Ford
- 2:19:14Speaker 2: Chevy or something like that. Yeah, they actually have a
- 2:19:17Speaker 2: few here, they say, like ballet flats, like when girls
- 2:19:19Speaker 2: wear out those ballet flats, like those little shoes that
- 2:19:22Speaker 2: they wear, Like that's a that's a stereotypical American thing
- 2:19:25Speaker 2: that other cultures, like in Europe, they don't do that.
- 2:19:27Speaker 2: They don't wear ballet flats as shoes. Well they I
- 2:19:31Speaker 2: didn't know anyone, dude, I, oh, yeah, you wife has
- 2:19:34Speaker 2: a couple of pair. I would think you're yeah she
- 2:19:35Speaker 2: shirt and my excident as well, Yeah, absolutely not a chance.
- 2:19:39Speaker 2: Here's another one too, and this is this is wild,
- 2:19:41Speaker 2: but there's no question this is the case. And one
- 2:19:44Speaker 2: is in this room now that baseball cap has definitively
- 2:19:50Speaker 2: an American piece of clothing. Yeah, and it's known to
- 2:19:53Speaker 2: like they in the picture they put up there, Spike Lee. Yeah,
- 2:19:57Speaker 2: it says an excellent history lesson from the Major League Baseball.
- 2:20:00Speaker 2: We learned that modern baseball hat was born in the
- 2:20:02Speaker 2: eighteen eighties from the Red Sox which is now the
- 2:20:06Speaker 2: Atlanta Braves. And they talk about how the baseball cap
- 2:20:09Speaker 2: is specifically an American piece of apparel. I'm fine with that.
- 2:20:15Speaker 2: That's cool. Here's another one too. If you're rolling around
- 2:20:17Speaker 2: in Europe and you're wearing this, they will know immediately
- 2:20:20Speaker 2: you're an American. And it's bored shorts because apparently in
- 2:20:25Speaker 2: Europe they don't wear shorts like that. They don't wear
- 2:20:27Speaker 2: they wear more casual linen shorts or something like that.
- 2:20:30Speaker 2: They don't wear bord shorts.
- 2:20:33Speaker 23: Yeah.
- 2:20:33Speaker 2: And then the other one they have here is cowboy boots.
- 2:20:36Speaker 2: That's what I'm talking to, give you some tot old boys. Also,
- 2:20:39Speaker 2: hoodies are considered like American apparel. Okay, yeah, h the
- 2:20:43Speaker 2: hoodie is considered American apparel. And then jeans of course
- 2:20:46Speaker 2: is like a leather fringe like like coats with the
- 2:20:50Speaker 2: leather thing, like like the old Old West coats or
- 2:20:53Speaker 2: Native American coats or like a like a biker. Huh,
- 2:20:57Speaker 2: like a biker, like a like a Harley Davidson y. Yeah,
- 2:21:00Speaker 2: but I mean it has to has those it has
- 2:21:01Speaker 2: to have those frills, yeah yeah, but I think it
- 2:21:04Speaker 2: has to be like a more leathery and not like
- 2:21:06Speaker 2: black leathery oh okay, yeah yeah. And then sneakers are
- 2:21:10Speaker 2: a big thing for Americans, like snickers and T shirts,
- 2:21:12Speaker 2: like all the stuff we've talked about, all the stuff
- 2:21:14Speaker 2: that you see every day. Every everybody in this building
- 2:21:17Speaker 2: is like what you would be what would be a
- 2:21:19Speaker 2: dead giveaway in another country that you were American. And
- 2:21:23Speaker 2: I think that's kind of unique because I mean, you know,
- 2:21:25Speaker 2: Canadians look like us too. Mahigans do not look like
- 2:21:29Speaker 2: us though they do not. They wear a lot of
- 2:21:31Speaker 2: like uh, soccer and sports jerseys and stuff like that
- 2:21:34Speaker 2: and golf shirts. There's man, there's some parts of Canada
- 2:21:39Speaker 2: though that I'm I'm thinking about them, like I feel
- 2:21:42Speaker 2: like in Calgary they looked a little different. Oh yeah, yeah,
- 2:21:45Speaker 2: I don't know. I've never been the Calgary and the
- 2:21:46Speaker 2: other One of the things they say, it's kind of wild,
- 2:21:48Speaker 2: and I guess this is also one of the things
- 2:21:50Speaker 2: that they said that World Cup visitors had a really
- 2:21:53Speaker 2: weird time with, is the I voted sticker, Like if
- 2:21:57Speaker 2: you know, because you're you're voting in primaries right now, Yeah, yeah,
- 2:22:00Speaker 2: you would get an eye voted sticker if you voted
- 2:22:02Speaker 2: in a primary. And of course if you're around any
- 2:22:04Speaker 2: of these places and you've seen people wearing eye voted stickers.
- 2:22:08Speaker 2: To Europeans, that's really really bizarre that we talk about
- 2:22:11Speaker 2: our voting process and voting so much and we and
- 2:22:14Speaker 2: we wear a lot of flags. That's also really weird
- 2:22:16Speaker 2: to them, Like other countries they say don't really like
- 2:22:19Speaker 2: show their flag off that much. But that's kind of
- 2:22:21Speaker 2: wild because in the soccer game, isn't that kind of
- 2:22:23Speaker 2: a thing like showing your flag colors as part of
- 2:22:26Speaker 2: your kid It is an odd thing that you're walking
- 2:22:29Speaker 2: into it is, yes, but it's because of the World Cup.
- 2:22:33Speaker 2: Oh and that's it. Yeah, And that's nothing to do
- 2:22:34Speaker 2: with the pride in their country. Like you're not gonna care.
- 2:22:36Speaker 2: You're not gonna find somebody from Spain wearing a you know,
- 2:22:39Speaker 2: a Pride of Spain shirt or something. Well, I don't
- 2:22:42Speaker 2: know about Spain, but I can only comment on England confidently,
- 2:22:45Speaker 2: at least somewhat confidently, is that all of my British
- 2:22:48Speaker 2: friends are very gray about England. They now granted, all
- 2:22:53Speaker 2: of my English friends left England and now they're here
- 2:22:56Speaker 2: in Florida. But dude, back in the days, the punk days,
- 2:22:59Speaker 2: like the lates, the the late sixties going into the
- 2:23:01Speaker 2: early seventies and then the the like wearing the Union
- 2:23:04Speaker 2: Jack as an American was like a thing like for
- 2:23:07Speaker 2: us here in America, wearing your shirt like like the
- 2:23:10Speaker 2: I know Death Leopard wore when their English ban but
- 2:23:12Speaker 2: but you know he used to wear that like that,
- 2:23:14Speaker 2: that Union Jack like shirt with no sleeves, and that
- 2:23:17Speaker 2: was like a big thing for people in England. You
- 2:23:19Speaker 2: you wore the Union Jack, and then in America became
- 2:23:21Speaker 2: a big thing. And I gotta tell you, I like
- 2:23:24Speaker 2: that's what it's called, right, the Union Jack yea, yeah, okay,
- 2:23:26Speaker 2: the Union Jack Jack. Yeah. I'm making sure it's not
- 2:23:28Speaker 2: the pirate flag. Jolly Roger, is it?
- 2:23:31Speaker 5: Man?
- 2:23:32Speaker 13: I know.
- 2:23:33Speaker 2: I don't find it offensive. Let me jump ahead of this,
- 2:23:36Speaker 2: but I no, no, sometimes no, I don't find it offensive. No,
- 2:23:41Speaker 2: you were right. I do find it weird though. Sometimes
- 2:23:47Speaker 2: if I see American flags like dawned as like a
- 2:23:52Speaker 2: full blown shirt and it's not July fourth like there
- 2:23:55Speaker 2: is uh, I don't know there, I find it fascinating.
- 2:23:59Speaker 2: I find it offensive. I'm not trying to say you
- 2:24:02Speaker 2: can't do that or you shouldn't. I just find it interesting.
- 2:24:05Speaker 2: That's really big in the western wear stores, like those
- 2:24:08Speaker 2: full blat like if you were gonna wear a dress shirt,
- 2:24:10Speaker 2: but the dress shirt would have like would be basically
- 2:24:12Speaker 2: an American flag, not print, Like it's almost like they
- 2:24:15Speaker 2: made it out of an American flag. They didn't, but
- 2:24:17Speaker 2: it looks like that, Like I I want an American
- 2:24:20Speaker 2: flag in my house. I want like the pole. I've
- 2:24:23Speaker 2: always thought that would have been really cool. It's getting
- 2:24:26Speaker 2: a flag pole. Oh really yeah? Is that I think that?
- 2:24:30Speaker 2: I don't know. I got a couple of people on
- 2:24:31Speaker 2: my block with it. You gotta take it down at
- 2:24:33Speaker 2: night unless you put a light on it. Yeah, you
- 2:24:35Speaker 2: gotta put a light on it. You can fly it
- 2:24:37Speaker 2: at night, it has to have a light and you
- 2:24:38Speaker 2: can't have a touch the ground. You have to take
- 2:24:39Speaker 2: it Downady. If you're gonna display the flag, you gotta
- 2:24:42Speaker 2: follow flag code. Yeah, I think I'm out. I didn't
- 2:24:44Speaker 2: know there are that many rules. You got a light?
- 2:24:46Speaker 2: Can I ask you a question though?
- 2:24:47Speaker 11: On that?
- 2:24:47Speaker 6: Sure?
- 2:24:47Speaker 2: That's interesting. So in my Geneva house, we had two
- 2:24:51Speaker 2: pylons that held up the front porch going into the
- 2:24:54Speaker 2: house or you know, just you know, four by fours
- 2:24:55Speaker 2: or whatever. And the person who owned it before us
- 2:24:58Speaker 2: had those flag mounts on their and they used to
- 2:25:00Speaker 2: fly two small American flags. It would be like the
- 2:25:03Speaker 2: size of a monitor, you know. I got a computer
- 2:25:05Speaker 2: magournal and he and and he would put those out
- 2:25:08Speaker 2: there and then for a while we put it out there.
- 2:25:10Speaker 2: Do you have to treat those the same as you
- 2:25:12Speaker 2: do that you want up a that you run up
- 2:25:13Speaker 2: a pole? I believe so, Like if you're going to
- 2:25:16Speaker 2: display a flag like that, I think you're supposed to
- 2:25:18Speaker 2: have a light on it. I don't think they. I
- 2:25:20Speaker 2: don't think they said anything about the size, right, Yeah,
- 2:25:23Speaker 2: it could be a really tiny flag.
- 2:25:24Speaker 6: Dude.
- 2:25:25Speaker 2: You got to light that thing on the flat.
- 2:25:26Speaker 3: It's easy now because they have like this this it's
- 2:25:28Speaker 3: a little solar thing, so it charges and then at
- 2:25:31Speaker 3: night it goes on and your flag is a little bit.
- 2:25:36Speaker 2: Yeah. I don't know. I've always kind of wanted to
- 2:25:39Speaker 2: because I know that the stereotype of a lot of
- 2:25:41Speaker 2: people on the left is that they're not patriotic, so
- 2:25:43Speaker 2: and I've always felt myself to be like somewhat patriotic.
- 2:25:46Speaker 2: I like USA, I'm rooting for it. I put my
- 2:25:49Speaker 2: flag out. I know, flag flying holidays, so you do
- 2:25:52Speaker 2: it for holidays. Yeah, flag day July fourth, Independent, you
- 2:25:56Speaker 2: know my birthday. Yeah, his birthday. Marry America and Letty
- 2:26:01Speaker 2: Texan and says, oh my god. I was in Italy
- 2:26:03Speaker 2: last year, a large group went together. By the time
- 2:26:05Speaker 2: I left Italy, I realized people get spot us miles away.
- 2:26:08Speaker 2: We looked like clowns. We dressed very colorful and soot
- 2:26:11Speaker 2: out in a crowd, for sure. Europeans are dressed very
- 2:26:13Speaker 2: stylish and in earth tones. They look great. Yeah, you're
- 2:26:17Speaker 2: walking around with a guy Harvey and this this Italian
- 2:26:20Speaker 2: guy Massimo has got a black turtleneck cash here. Yeah,
- 2:26:24Speaker 2: because you can buy Gucci out there, like seven eleven's right, Yeah,
- 2:26:27Speaker 2: that's what Glenn tells me. Glenn tells me, you go
- 2:26:30Speaker 2: when you go to France and you know, he's asked us.
- 2:26:32Speaker 2: He goes, Hey, you know, you go to France and
- 2:26:34Speaker 2: you go to their quote unquote thrift stores in France. Dude,
- 2:26:37Speaker 2: it's all brands that you would die for in America
- 2:26:41Speaker 2: and they're selling them like, you know, not dirt cheap.
- 2:26:44Speaker 2: But you could go there and load up your closet
- 2:26:45Speaker 2: with like, you know, all the names that you don't Christian, Dior,
- 2:26:49Speaker 2: East Larn, all those brands. That's all that's in those stores.
- 2:26:52Speaker 2: Like that's not a big deal over there. That's a
- 2:26:54Speaker 2: normal thing. You don't have to go to a fancy
- 2:26:56Speaker 2: mall to find that stuff. Crazy, that's all. What are
- 2:27:00Speaker 2: we doing after this? All right? Four oh seven nine
- 2:27:04Speaker 2: one Again? You can always text us at seven seven
- 2:27:07Speaker 2: zero three one takelet break, We'll come back and do
- 2:27:10Speaker 2: a few more minutes. Then getting the hell out of
- 2:27:11Speaker 2: here on a Thursday.
- 2:27:15Speaker 14: Say what up? Power Show?
- 2:27:17Speaker 24: Curious your guys thoughts on GTA six, basically breaking the
- 2:27:20Speaker 24: future of gaming. A few days after the game went
- 2:27:23Speaker 24: on pre sale, PlayStation announced that they will no longer
- 2:27:26Speaker 24: be releasing physical discs.
- 2:27:28Speaker 14: Yep, They'll only be doing sales digitally through their store.
- 2:27:33Speaker 14: Now my opinion, this is not good for the future
- 2:27:37Speaker 14: of gaming. I like having the physical disc. I still
- 2:27:40Speaker 14: have yet to pre order, so I don't know what
- 2:27:43Speaker 14: you think.
- 2:27:45Speaker 2: What uscrew.
- 2:27:47Speaker 4: I've been all over Europe, UK, France, Italy, Spain, Greece.
- 2:27:54Speaker 2: Hey, they always go I'm American. Number one, I don't
- 2:27:57Speaker 2: speak their language.
- 2:27:59Speaker 4: Number two, my jeans, number three, my Yankees had, number four,
- 2:28:03Speaker 4: my big pushy beard, and number five the biggest giveaway.
- 2:28:07Speaker 14: I'm fat, fat American.
- 2:28:09Speaker 2: Now, like you look at the fat American over there. Yeah, yeah,
- 2:28:13Speaker 2: I don't care.
- 2:28:21Speaker 7: Fun defining the Webster's Dictionary as an explosion between the legs.
- 2:28:35Speaker 13: Is uh?
