- 0:56Thank you. Now here are the hosts of the
- 1:00United We Scan podcast. Welcome back everybody.
- 1:07Episode 53. And as the title says, this is
- 1:11the final one of 2023. With the holidays coming up,
- 1:16we're going to spend some time with our family, but we'll be
- 1:18back right after the New Year. Josh, how was your week?
- 1:23It was a week, didn't have an arrow key Friday, so I took the
- 1:32mail for the 2/3 that are out for a ride, give it, let it get
- 1:36some fresh air and brought it back.
- 1:39Got a 1571 who that supervisor went and asked the said
- 1:46something to the other supervisor who got on her high
- 1:48horse about there's three supervisors there in the
- 1:52morning. I could have asked the other
- 1:55ones, I don't, knowing that they know that my key broke and we're
- 2:03waiting on the replacement to come in.
- 2:06Assuming they actually reported it.
- 2:10I don't think I should have to beg, so to speak, for a key
- 2:17every day. That's just me not looking
- 2:21forward to. So that meant an extra long day
- 2:24yesterday because I had double the mail for 2/3 that are out
- 2:30plus and almost full coverage because the Costco coupons came
- 2:37in. So that was three times the
- 2:39amount of time at each CBU. We'll see what this week brings.
- 2:45How about you James? How was your week?
- 2:49Well, my week started off fine and then around Wednesday I
- 2:53started getting sick and so bad. I was down Thursday and Friday
- 2:58from work. Had to call off unfortunately,
- 3:00but started feeling better yesterday and today I went out
- 3:04and did things know, see how I'm doing, see how I'm progressing,
- 3:07see if I have the energy to be able to go to work tomorrow.
- 3:12So it looks like I'm going to be good to go to work tomorrow and
- 3:15finish out the rest of the week. So hopefully I'll be all right.
- 3:20Hopefully it doesn't rebound on me and put me back into bed
- 3:23again because I slept for 26 straight hours at one point, but
- 3:29just trying to get through the holiday season.
- 3:32I know that calling off during this time is a big problem for a
- 3:37lot of offices, especially management.
- 3:40But I've been lucky that the management that I've been dealt
- 3:44with have always been top cards in the deck.
- 3:48So I think it's that's a good thing that I have what I have,
- 3:53and I do feel bad for others that don't have what I have.
- 3:57But I'm hoping that this week is a good week, maybe a little of
- 4:02extra overtime, pad that, check a little bit and get back into
- 4:08the swing of things. Getting off the sickness.
- 4:11How about your week, Bill? Oh.
- 4:13God, are you kidding me? I had one day that I didn't work
- 4:17past 8:00. We had one day where the
- 4:22accountable cage, where they keep the accountable carts, was
- 4:25locked and they couldn't find the key.
- 4:28Oh, somehow they bent the cage the the sliding cage door enough
- 4:33for our skinny postmaster to go in and get the keys.
- 4:36And like a numbskull, she's standing in there calling out
- 4:41keys. Just grab all the keys and come
- 4:43on out, OK? I mean for God's sakes let's not
- 4:47be stupid all the time. But then she tried to make
- 4:50friends with me on Friday she come over and said to me and and
- 4:53Mark Kwan who's on the the route next to me said did you guys
- 4:57scan your ADVO barcodes on Thursday and said yes it did.
- 5:01She goes, well, it doesn't show up on the report and I says not
- 5:04my problem, that's happened before.
- 5:07I said so obviously there's either something wrong with the
- 5:09scanner or the server And she goes, well, you need to scan it
- 5:14again in front of me. And I said why will that prove
- 5:18that it worked even if it doesn't show up again And she
- 5:21goes, well, no, this way I can verify that we actually did it
- 5:26and I can cover you in regards to, you know, not playing with,
- 5:30you know, the the man's of the office.
- 5:33And I said, oh, you mean you have you're going to be able to
- 5:35cover your ass. She looked at me.
- 5:37She said, excuse me. And I said because if you're not
- 5:40covering your ass, then you're calling me a liar.
- 5:44And she just stood there and looked at me.
- 5:46She goes, will you scan it again?
- 5:48So I I said sure. I scanned it again, I showed the
- 5:52prompts in front of her, entered it and it came up successful.
- 5:56And then this woman had the nerve to say, are you logged in
- 6:02on right route. I gave it a scanner.
- 6:06I said you look it up and I went back to work and she stood there
- 6:11trying to figure out how to how to go and find out what route it
- 6:14was on. She took it over to another
- 6:18carrier who showed her how to find out what route.
- 6:20Then she came back and gave me the scanner.
- 6:22She goes, you're on the right route.
- 6:24I said yes, I know. Took the scanner back and just
- 6:27turned my back on the the. It took me almost a year and a
- 6:33half to break in the old postmaster to the point where we
- 6:36had a working relationship and we understood each other in
- 6:39regards to where we were coming from.
- 6:41OK, now I've got this new lady who's never dealt with rural
- 6:45carriers and she's trying to explain rule, carrier contract
- 6:50language to me. And I look at her and I said,
- 6:53I'm sorry, that's not what it says.
- 6:55Oh, yes, it is. I said, well, when you find it,
- 6:57you, you, you get it and bring it to me and I'll believe you.
- 7:02But I swear to God, you know, 26 years now, OK.
- 7:06I mean, my 26th year. I don't know what I'm doing.
- 7:11Now here's the other problem, ladies and gentlemen.
- 7:14Has anybody had problems with their scanner going back to the
- 7:17old format off and on? No, because the other day mine
- 7:23did and I couldn't even do a depart the route because it
- 7:26wasn't on the scanner. Nothing happening and I have not
- 7:32personally seen it. I'm I'm just we're getting paid
- 7:36with these scanners and they don't record.
- 7:40They ought to just take this whole contract with about Rex
- 7:44and put it on hold until they figure out what the Hell's going
- 7:47on. Nope.
- 7:50But when I came in Friday morning, my, you know, I picked
- 7:54up my scanner. I'm like, oh, I got the the hand
- 7:57strap back. Then I realized that it was a
- 8:01different scanner. They replaced my scanner because
- 8:06it wasn't downloading at all. So which is OK, that's fine.
- 8:14The problem is the yellow scan button on the left side, which
- 8:18is the one I use with my left thumb is missing.
- 8:25The buttons missing. So the last two day the the
- 8:28yellow scan button on the on the side of the scanner.
- 8:32How's? It going, oh I don't know, but
- 8:38so now I'm for the last two days I've been playing you know plus
- 8:44and with it trying to figure out how to hold it without hitting
- 8:48the enter button on the left side while using the scan button
- 8:54on the right side. Well, how was your week,
- 8:59Kristen? Well, it started off kind of
- 9:06interesting. I did have three days this week
- 9:10where I came in under evaluation.
- 9:13What? Yeah, I was like was home
- 9:18before. It was dark.
- 9:19That was really weird. Yesterday was one of them,
- 9:22actually, and I think was the other one, not the other one was
- 9:31Friday. Yeah, Friday.
- 9:33I was in at 3322. I got back to the office and I
- 9:39had a note that says, well, you can do your mapping.
- 9:41We need to get mapping done. You can do yours today or
- 9:43tomorrow. I said well I have a date with a
- 9:46Marine tomorrow, so I'll do it now and then.
- 9:49I was back yesterday just under evaluation by 1/2 hour Tuesday.
- 9:56I've been bugging them for a week that I needed assistance on
- 10:00Tuesday because I had my youngest daughter's Christmas
- 10:05band concert 2 hours away. Oh yeah, you know, we'll we'll
- 10:08we'll get you help. We'll, we'll, we'll do what we
- 10:10can. And so Tuesday I was sorting out
- 10:16the parcels, give them back into the route.
- 10:19And I went up and said something to her and she looked at me
- 10:24going, oh, well, I couldn't get so and so, so no, you don't have
- 10:27help. And I looked at her and I
- 10:34probably got a little emotional, let's put it this way, slightly
- 10:40pissed off. And she had a couple packages
- 10:45for some reason that were, I don't know if in the missed her
- 10:48own card or something that she handed to me.
- 10:51And I took those and I probably said a few choice words because
- 10:56at that point I was in blind rage and tossed the packages at
- 11:02my case and walked out the door to go have a cigarette.
- 11:08And at that time Co worker said I'll go do my second trip so she
- 11:13can do what she's been wanting, what she needs to do for her
- 11:17daughter. They were going to give him the
- 11:19help so he wouldn't have a second trip because the pooms
- 11:23been yelling at them about his second trips.
- 11:26He's the only POV route in the office, and that's the 93 mile
- 11:30route and it's 20 mile or not 20, but 10 miles to the to the
- 11:33first box. Yeah, he racks up the miles on
- 11:37the second trips and she's like, I'll have to go talk to the
- 11:41postmaster. And I was at that point, if the
- 11:44postmaster hadn't caved, I was going to walk back into the
- 11:48building, toss the LLV keys at her and tell her she could take
- 11:51the damn route herself and I was going to go home for the day.
- 11:55That's where I was at Tuesday. Luckily she caved.
- 12:00So I got the partial help and I was back by 03/30 in time to go
- 12:08home, change real quick and drive 2 hours to my daughter's
- 12:10band concert. That's how my week pretty much
- 12:16went. But the rest of the week, you
- 12:19know, Wednesday was heavy, but not a big deal.
- 12:23I think I had a Mailer, yeah, I did.
- 12:25I had a box holder on Wednesday and.
- 12:29But I don't know, Mail's been really light for us.
- 12:31Flats have been super light all week.
- 12:34I actually pulled down into my DPS three days this week, which
- 12:38is really weird, but other than that it hasn't been too bad.
- 12:44We'll see what this next week holds.
- 12:46I mean the flats usually die after the 10th because.
- 12:49Oh yeah. Yeah, you don't have enough time
- 12:51to have it manufactured put on the ship across the Pacific to
- 12:55get to you, but there there is a fun item that the Panama Canal
- 13:00is still backed up. Oh yeah.
- 13:02There's a lot of cargo ships still sitting out there waiting
- 13:05to get to the East Coast. Yeah, we always get it seems
- 13:08like there's always a delay somewhere.
- 13:11Well, they don't want, they don't want to put the containers
- 13:13on trains in Los Angeles because they've been robbing every
- 13:17single one of them. Cargo containers in Los Angeles,
- 13:20you see it on the news all the time while the all the Amazon
- 13:22and TMU packages strewn about on the railroad tracks as people
- 13:26are looking for the expensive items coming over overseas.
- 13:30Yeah. And unfortunately, it's
- 13:32happening a lot more in stores and things like that.
- 13:34Society's really going downhill. The cost of stuff is too high
- 13:38and people are feeling that they have to start stealing stuff in
- 13:41order to either survive or because they can't afford what
- 13:45they want to have, so they just steal it.
- 13:49Oh, and the highlight of my week?
- 13:51My son got in Monday night, my brother picked him up and my son
- 13:57showed up yesterday afternoon to my house and we went to a
- 14:01concert last night and he's up on my couch right now watching
- 14:04Japanese anime with my boyfriend.
- 14:06So I have my son home till Tuesday and then he's going to
- 14:10leave again and go visit more friends.
- 14:13Yay. Right, right.
- 14:17I bet you that's the biggest present you'll get this year.
- 14:20It really is, yeah. I think it's the.
- 14:25Yeah, I think it's the best present you're going to get this
- 14:27year. Any Christmas where I could have
- 14:29all three of my kids together is the best Christmas.
- 14:34Well, I don't know. I got an early Christmas present
- 14:36with, you know what you put on the our host page about the
- 14:41person that met me in Orlando. Yes, that was on.
- 14:45I hadn't checked our Apple podcast stuff lately, so I was I
- 14:50was doing my benefits today, put my insurance in and whatnot, and
- 14:54I decided since I had the laptop up in the living room, I was
- 14:58going to go in and check out the comments on our Apple Podcasts
- 15:04and I'll go ahead and read it real quick.
- 15:06This person gave us a five star rating, so it's very
- 15:08informative. I met Bill in Orlando at the
- 15:11convention. I was warned he was a
- 15:14troublemaker, so when I was seated at his table for the
- 15:18banquet, I didn't engage too much.
- 15:20After listening to a few podcasts, I now wish I would
- 15:23have talked with him. Talked more with him.
- 15:25It is clear all four hosts care about the craft and their fellow
- 15:28carriers. Talk about the fields.
- 15:34I know I had to share that one right away.
- 15:39And that's why we do this, folks.
- 15:42We care. We truly care with This is not
- 15:46lip service. This is not kiss ass.
- 15:49This is We care. Because guess what?
- 15:53No matter what happens, we're always going to be with the rest
- 15:56of our brothers and sisters of the craft.
- 15:59We're going to be by your side no matter what, because the most
- 16:03important person in the rural carrier union is the carrier on
- 16:08the ground delivering the mail. Absolutely on.
- 16:13The ground boots on the ground. Speaking of that.
- 16:18Boots in the house OK. Speaking of that, we did have
- 16:24another news release from our esteemed President, Don Masten,
- 16:30filing a Step 4 grievance finally on the failure to pay
- 16:35rural carriers. Now, mind you, it took what,
- 16:43four months to figure this out? Three, four months to figure
- 16:47this out that they need to actually file a Step 4 to
- 16:49actually get management to do what they're supposed to be
- 16:52doing Because that's exactly what a grievance is for, is to
- 16:57tell management to do something or not do something that they're
- 17:03either supposed to be doing or are not supposed to be doing,
- 17:07like filing the contract or violating federal law.
- 17:12But it was a interesting 2 minute and 52nd video that
- 17:20literally could have just been a press release like they normally
- 17:23do instead of having to sit there.
- 17:25I could have read it faster than the way he spoke it, but I'll
- 17:30give him credit that he is using a little bit more
- 17:34technologically advanced information spreading than the
- 17:39previous leadership did. I'll give him that, but
- 17:44unfortunately there was no substance to it that could have
- 17:48been better than just a standard press release.
- 17:51What is your guys's take? It was quite bland and obviously
- 17:57read off a teleprompter or something.
- 18:00Yes, I agree. I mean it.
- 18:03I I I will give them that, that they did put it out via a social
- 18:08media way, so to say. But at the same time, yeah, it's
- 18:14something that could have easily just been done as a press
- 18:16release. I mean, there really wasn't a
- 18:18lot. There wasn't any substance to it
- 18:20whatsoever. And and again, only the union
- 18:24members were Privy to it. Unless the union member put the
- 18:27link out there for non union members.
- 18:30Yeah, well, I'll refrain from commenting on the comments that
- 18:35followed after people saw that, because some of them are very
- 18:41obscene, very disrespectful and had rolling on the floor.
- 18:49Yeah, and we do not condone being disrespectful to anybody
- 18:53in the craft because we are all brothers and sisters of the
- 18:58craft. But at the same time, we have a
- 19:03right to hold our leadership that is elected by the delegates
- 19:09to a higher standard than the rest of the craft.
- 19:12As well. Their job is to protect the
- 19:17craft from management and I have yet to see real protection from
- 19:23the top of the food chain in the leadership to the craft at the
- 19:29bottom. You know, we had fifty 555,000
- 19:35carriers not get paid. Where was the Step 4?
- 19:39Didn't happen then? We had 2200 not get paid.
- 19:44That was three weeks prior to this.
- 19:50And then finally he decides to actually file a Step 4.
- 19:54But then again, we have Step 4 from 20/19/2016 still sitting,
- 19:58waiting to be adjudicated. So I wonder how long this Step 4
- 20:02is going to take. When he came out, when he came
- 20:06out and brought out the message about the 55,000 carriers not
- 20:09getting paid and that management told the union it wouldn't
- 20:13happen again, I went, yeah. Cory Walton says it best
- 20:20management would rather climb a tree to lie than stand on the
- 20:23ground to tell the truth. So management lied to the union,
- 20:27said it wouldn't happen again. We're going to fix the problem
- 20:30and it happened again and people didn't get paid again and people
- 20:35still aren't getting paid right. And yet it took 3-4 months to
- 20:40file a step for grievance on this.
- 20:43The minute we found out the carriers were not getting paid,
- 20:46that step four should have been written up and ready to go.
- 20:50And then when they did not get their checks on that Friday,
- 20:52that step four should have been handed over to management and
- 20:55said now we're going to discuss this.
- 20:57And our director of Labor relations have sat down with
- 21:00management right then and there and said, all right, this is
- 21:02what we're going to do. We're going to go through this.
- 21:04We're going to get this solved. We're going to get it done now
- 21:06because these carriers need to get paid.
- 21:10The fact that the Department of Labor, who has literally no
- 21:15affiliation with the Postal Service other than a supervising
- 21:21agency over labor my. Zipper.
- 21:26Is done has gotten more done for rural carriers.
- 21:30Yeah. They have done more.
- 21:32I love you. Hey, Bill.
- 21:35Yes. We love you too.
- 21:37We. Are my wife.
- 21:41I'm not ashamed to say it. But the Department of Labor has
- 21:49done more than our union, and they've only gotten half the
- 21:53money back to the carriers that they're owed.
- 21:57You want to tell me that an outside agency is doing more for
- 22:02our carriers than our inside agency?
- 22:06Our paid representatives. That we pay almost $200,000 just
- 22:15in salary alone. For one person.
- 22:19For one person, each person, why is it that we had to bring in
- 22:29the Department of Labor and other agencies into the
- 22:33situation when our union should have been stepping up and doing
- 22:37the job in the first place? Yes, this is a subtitled a
- 22:46rabbit hole episode. All right.
- 22:56Yeah, it's it. It's just that it took that
- 23:00long, you know, and and not just the 55,000 and the 22,000, those
- 23:05two instances. There's instances every pay
- 23:08period where an office or carriers do not get paid.
- 23:14And it's ridiculous that even that happens at all, whether
- 23:18it's management not submitting it on time or a glitch somewhere
- 23:23here or there. It's ridiculous that any person
- 23:29has to miss a paycheck because of why, and then nothing happens
- 23:38other than trying to fight for that pay check.
- 23:41Yeah, I find it ridiculous. Go ahead, Bill.
- 23:46I I just want to go down my favorite rabbit hole this time
- 23:49of year. UPS, FedEx.
- 23:53Not too much. DHL, the target people, all all
- 23:58those little companies out there, you know, stuff in their
- 24:01packages in the mailbox. Bill May's rule according to
- 24:05article A 125. Take them back and and you know
- 24:09to the post office and they're supposed to return them to the
- 24:11sender. And the only caveat that I do
- 24:14during the year is on Christmas Eve.
- 24:17That's the only time I'll leave it there.
- 24:19I don't want to ruin everybody's Christmas.
- 24:21But otherwise, folks, take it to the door.
- 24:24You're paid to deliver to the door.
- 24:26Take it to the damn door you got to.
- 24:29You know, I hate being a Grinch about the whole thing, but every
- 24:32mailbox says approved by the United States Postal Service,
- 24:37the Postmaster General. It's not your mailbox.
- 24:41Knock the shit off. You know I hate being the bad
- 24:44guy, but you know you're taking money from me.
- 24:48Yeah, I rolled up two line of mailboxes.
- 24:52It was the day before and I had a couple packages for the house
- 24:56and I obviously know where the house is.
- 24:57It's not, you know, near the mailbox there.
- 25:00And I like and there's this package underneath the mailbox
- 25:05and I'm going to assume it was FedEx as it wasn't a a U PS:.
- 25:09Label. And I just shook my head as I
- 25:15drive down the road to the house and deliver her four huge heavy
- 25:19packages that day. But and it was like one of the
- 25:22posts I saw on the social web, somebody commenting, you know,
- 25:25let's just talk about the holiday packages or they they
- 25:27ran into another carrier where I don't remember if it was FedEx
- 25:30or UPS and they're like oh, how you know, I got a like 180 stops
- 25:36and or 180 packages, how you doing?
- 25:40And the, you know, the carrier just looks at him goes 318 and
- 25:43they just kind of owe and book out of there.
- 25:46You know, guys, I don't want to hear about FedEx and UPS and
- 25:52their 150 packages or they're, they're, you know, they're 125
- 25:56stops, 180 stops when we're pulling how many a day on top of
- 26:04delivering mail. Yeah.
- 26:08I just saw a post on Facebook from a mail group.
- 26:12Person just delivered 840 packages 5:00 AM till 9:00 PM.
- 26:19Wow. Yeah.
- 26:21That hurts. Like I complain when I have 150
- 26:26like ow. My 212 yesterday felt like a
- 26:30light day. It it, it's funny.
- 26:33Yeah. We you're under 250.
- 26:35It's like, God, I I had a, you know below average day I'll get
- 26:40done before evaluation that's that's a nice day.
- 26:45But then again like I said, I got done before 8:00 once this
- 26:48week. That's how bad we're getting
- 26:50hammered. Well, like yesterday my.
- 26:53Kind of tapered off a bit, but not some routes, not all routes.
- 26:58Like yesterday for example, my parcel count when I went and
- 27:02reviewed my entries was only 168 where I've been low to mid twos
- 27:12all week but I got back later than any other day this the past
- 27:16week and a half that's. Because you're Milky on the
- 27:20overtime. I haven't gotten overtime yet,
- 27:24not if you exclude my K days. I didn't say you were a good
- 27:28milker, I'm just saying you were Milky or or or the former ADR
- 27:36explaining that you get overtime after you pass the what's it
- 27:4257.36 hours, which is a maximum for A48K and I'm sitting there
- 27:48going. The contract says you get
- 27:50overtime after you go past your evaluation.
- 27:54My evaluation is 62.3 36 hours. Well, that's not how it works.
- 28:00OK, I'm, I'm sorry, I I didn't know how to read the contract.
- 28:05I I don't know how many hours I I didn't have as many hours this
- 28:10week this past week, but the first week of the pay period,
- 28:15not counting the three 3 1/2 hours of helping out on the
- 28:19other route and helping the new sub, I had about 62 hours.
- 28:24Does that include my K day though too?
- 28:26It's funny because, you know, I got a phone call from a
- 28:30certified steward, wanted to know if they took a sick day,
- 28:34would it affect their overtime. There was about a three minute
- 28:39pause before she said, are you there, Bill?
- 28:43And I said you are a steward, right?
- 28:47Yeah, I says. And you don't know how it
- 28:50affects your your overtime? No.
- 28:53All right. So call your ADR.
- 28:57That's. Well, now you got to explain it
- 29:01for the people that are listening, because you've talked
- 29:03about it. Now you got to give them the
- 29:05answer. You don't get overtime if you
- 29:10take annual or sick leave or Elwha.
- 29:13It does not contribute towards the total amount of work hours
- 29:17to accumulate overtime. It's a free day.
- 29:23So unless you're working the other five days and get
- 29:26overtime, that day that you take leave, you're not going to get
- 29:31overtime. It's not work If you're not
- 29:39working, you can't get overtime folks.
- 29:42It's just, it's that simple, OK? It's overtime for work hours.
- 29:47Leave is not computed in that. So don't think you're getting
- 29:53shorted. It's just the way the contract
- 29:55is. Everything that I've read said
- 29:58that leave counts towards his work hours during the three
- 30:04weeks. Right it it's not.
- 30:08OK. It is not.
- 30:09Well, like I said it's it's the same way of saying that you know
- 30:16you're evaluate going over to 48 K standard for devaluation is
- 30:20where your overtime starts even though you're evaluated higher.
- 30:23No, the language in the contract is very specific.
- 30:27You must go over your evaluation.
- 30:33And you also have to remember the term is worked hours.
- 30:38Yes, that means hours. You are on the clock.
- 30:43So if you were off sick, even though you're paid for that day,
- 30:49you are not on the clock. It's the same as when you're on
- 30:54annual leave. You are not on the clock because
- 30:57you are not physically working. It's the same concept.
- 31:02A lot of people don't get that realization that, oh, I have to
- 31:07actually be on the clock working the hours.
- 31:11That's why you see on your paycheck that it says actual
- 31:13hours work versus rural hours worked.
- 31:17The actual hours are your work hours that you spent on the
- 31:21clock. So if you were there for six
- 31:23hours, you were there for 8 hours, you were there for 10
- 31:25hours. That's where the actual hours
- 31:27would be there, and then the rural worked hours would be your
- 31:31evaluation. And and it'll it spells it out
- 31:37right on your pay stub. It's kind of alluded, but it
- 31:41spells it out, yeah. So we are in the last week of
- 31:46the three weeks of Christmas overtime period.
- 31:50Yeah, this is the last week to get your overtime payments.
- 31:53Even though the next two weeks after that are still going to be
- 31:56a hell of a week. Because not only are you going
- 31:59to still get the shipments of people that ordered stuff too
- 32:01late that it didn't make it by Christmas, then you're going to
- 32:04turn around and get everybody that's ordered stuff because
- 32:07they got gift cards for Christmas presents because the
- 32:09people that ordered the stuff too late couldn't get it there
- 32:12for Christmas. So they went out quickly to
- 32:14Target or Walmart or wherever to buy gift cards for the people
- 32:17that they didn't get their presents in on time.
- 32:20So you'll get those packages coming in too.
- 32:22And then and then it's. Return season.
- 32:25There you go, yeah. Which, you know, some areas are
- 32:30higher on the returns than others.
- 32:32But yes, I was going to say it then starts the return season
- 32:36because somebody bought the wrong color, wrong size, wrong,
- 32:38whatever. And on they gave that you have
- 32:42another short week with a holiday on a Monday.
- 32:46Yeah. And so you got 2 Tuesdays.
- 32:51Yep. Two days after day after
- 32:52holiday. Tuesdays after that.
- 32:56Hey, you know, if that's the only way I can have two weekends
- 32:59with two days off in a row, I'll take it though I did I tell you
- 33:07guys that you know how we had the three new Subs hired?
- 33:10Did I tell you that one of them quit before she started?
- 33:12OJTI think I mentioned that last week.
- 33:16I think you did. Yeah.
- 33:17Talk about it. Yeah, yeah.
- 33:21She moved from out of state and was having a hard time finding a
- 33:25place to live and then got sick with COVID and just said Nope,
- 33:28I'm not going to do it, I'm going to move back home.
- 33:31Oh yeah. Yep, sometimes life tells you to
- 33:35go that way. Yes, it does.
- 33:39But I am still next to get a sub once.
- 33:41If we get another one hired anytime soon, it'll go to me.
- 33:46Nice. And then you can start going to
- 33:47to events. Yeah, then I can start going to
- 33:51concerts in the middle of the week and take the next day off,
- 33:56unlike the one I had to skip a couple weeks ago because I was
- 33:59not done in time and I wasn't. It wasn't going to be worth the
- 34:02two hour one way drive and be there for an hour and a half
- 34:06because I got there late. So yeah, it's it'd be nice to
- 34:11have a sub. Don't get me wrong, I'll miss
- 34:13the overtime, but I think we're pretty a ways away.
- 34:16Before I actually get one, though, I'm not holding my
- 34:19breath. Now we got a sub that's and he's
- 34:27he's under his 90 days. He's not bad on the on the
- 34:33primary that he trained on. You know, So OK, they're using
- 34:37the run parcels and he comes to me and says can I take some big
- 34:41parcels off of you, you know, Oh sure.
- 34:44So I had this one hamper with nothing but big parcels.
- 34:48So he takes the parcels out on the dock writing an address
- 34:53down. Then he puts them into his phone
- 34:55and then, you know, comes back and brings me three of them
- 34:57back. And I says, what's the matter,
- 34:59wouldn't they fit? He goes, Oh no, they're not
- 35:02close enough, you know, for me to go to.
- 35:07OK, I will. I'm going to mention Bill, we
- 35:13had a listener post this and the listener chat and it says it's a
- 35:21excerpt from the contract says the.
- 35:24Christmas time going to bring that up.
- 35:27The Christmas holiday leave, Christmas holiday and paid leave
- 35:31taken by regular carriers will be credited as work performed
- 35:37for the purpose of determining work hours during the Christmas
- 35:40period. Such holiday and paid leave
- 35:43should be computed on the basis of the appropriate daily
- 35:46evaluation for the route as shown in the following table
- 35:50blah blah blah. And that's so, yes, 92H1F.
- 35:55Yes, if you take leave during the Christmas holiday time,
- 35:59those three weeks, it does count towards as work performed.
- 36:03Oh my bad. Your work hours.
- 36:06And corrected. And I was told the exact same
- 36:09thing Bill was by my higher union representative.
- 36:13So yes, that that's been a a staple of their argument for
- 36:18years. And that's why we're here is
- 36:21that way. We all learn from each other.
- 36:23We all get experience with each other.
- 36:26And when we're wrong, we say we're wrong and.
- 36:29Yeah, I know, I know. A buddy of mine, years ago when
- 36:33we actually had staffing and they would tow, half the
- 36:37carriers come in and then they have to be off the clock by 11.
- 36:42And then the other half they would tell them don't come in
- 36:45till 11:00, but they would put in for a, you know, call in
- 36:49sick. Because then instead of 11 to
- 36:544:00 or 12:00 to 4:00, he's getting credit for the full
- 36:58day's hours even though he burned a sicker annual day.
- 37:01Yeah. Do me a favor, put that back up
- 37:09there. The article that you found, OK.
- 37:11Yeah, it's in the listener's chat.
- 37:14Yeah, it's in the listener's. Chat, all right.
- 37:16The main channel listener chat channel.
- 37:19It's article right? Yeah, it's article 92H1F.
- 37:29And then I put just before that I had put something that someone
- 37:34had posted recently from Rural info which shows that the week
- 37:40one, week two, what your hours worked were and it had an annual
- 37:46leap day and week two so. So we stand corrected.
- 37:55Yes, and. And that's why we have more than
- 37:58one person and more than one voice doing this, so that we can
- 38:02draw from multiple resources instead of pretending that we
- 38:06know everything. I spoke from experience with my
- 38:14Dr. and you know, James concurred because that's what he
- 38:19was told. And here we find out in writing
- 38:21that it's wrong and now it's corrected and you know that you
- 38:25will get your overtime. And if you don't?
- 38:29And if you don't, what do we do, Bill?
- 38:32File, file, file, file and smile.
- 38:36Yep. So we don't come on here to talk
- 38:42my truth, Bill's truth, Kristen's truth, Josh's truth,
- 38:47or anybody else's truth. We want to speak the truth that
- 38:53everybody can learn. Even though I knew, probably in
- 38:56the back of my head, that you're supposed to get credit for the
- 39:00day these last few weeks, I'm like, well, I guess I'm never
- 39:05going to make the overtime, even if I'm going over with being off
- 39:09on Thursdays, taking sick or annual each week for that day.
- 39:17Well, apparently I guess I am getting credit for it.
- 39:21Yeah, the the biggest thing is we want everybody to learn
- 39:26because a well informed carrier is the bait of management.
- 39:31Management hates a well informed carrier.
- 39:34Leadership hates a well informed carrier because that makes more
- 39:38work for them because your step one, your step one grievance may
- 39:44not be settled at step one. You may have to go Step 2, step
- 39:47three or Step 4. And that's a quote, UN quote
- 39:50cost to leadership and arbitration is a cost to
- 39:55leadership and when you're trying to sit there and.
- 40:01Save money off the backs of your own craft.
- 40:05You know the first thing you take out is your Step 4
- 40:08arguments and your arbitration. Those are your most expensive
- 40:13things that the union can do other than paying the salaries
- 40:17of leadership. So that's why a lot of times
- 40:23you'll see that higher levels, they'll settle for language that
- 40:26already exists and things like that, because they don't want to
- 40:31take the time to actually fight this out and get the right
- 40:34judgement. We're here to help, hopefully
- 40:38guide in the right direction. And if we're wrong, one of our
- 40:41listeners will post it in the live chat or in our listener
- 40:45chat or even comment on Facebook about it, because we're we're
- 40:50learning just as much as you guys are on a lot of things.
- 40:54We can be wrong. Hell, I've been wrong on quite a
- 40:57few things. I've been misquoted plenty of
- 41:01times too. Everybody here has been
- 41:04misquoted. Everybody interprets what they
- 41:07read in their own way. Or even here.
- 41:11Issue. Yeah, I mean, exactly.
- 41:13That's like the biggest issue is interpretation.
- 41:18You know, a mannerism of which you say something could be taken
- 41:22completely out of context from what you actually said.
- 41:25I meant and it just in the way that you say it and it it's sad
- 41:28that it happens that way. But unfortunately, you know,
- 41:31we're all individual people and that's it's all individualized.
- 41:37That's really much all I can say about it.
- 41:40Well, opinions are like assholes.
- 41:42Everybody has one. They all stink.
- 41:45Absolutely at times. But not all.
- 41:48Not all opinions stink, though I will say there are some ones
- 41:51that smell fragrant nicely. There are some good opinions out
- 41:56there, don't get me wrong. But see this is the nice thing
- 42:00about our group, OK we're we're a round table.
- 42:03We're not you know just pushing 1 voice one agenda we we have
- 42:08you know the five of us. We have our listeners and we
- 42:13will research. We'll go back.
- 42:14We'll find out the truth. We'll correct ourselves and
- 42:16everything and that's how our national board ought to be.
- 42:20They shouldn't be just talking among themselves because they
- 42:23sure the hell don't have all the answers, especially in regards
- 42:26to the scanners and Amazon, which none of them have touched.
- 42:30But we have at least we have the humility to admit our mistakes.
- 42:36We have the intelligence to to go to others who may be more
- 42:40knowledgeable. And we have, you know, the the
- 42:44audacity to say we fucked up. Here's the right way to do it,
- 42:49OK? You know, and and, but we're
- 42:51drawing. We're drawing for more than just
- 42:53one voice, one opinion. We're drawing from thousands.
- 42:57And that's how a union should be run, drawn from the membership.
- 43:01Absolutely. I mean there'll be you know I've
- 43:04had Bill and Josh have both called me before just getting
- 43:07hey you know can I get clarification on this is this
- 43:10how it's you know the is this what it says or something or
- 43:13another like that or I've gone to them going hey guys I this
- 43:17got brought to my attention what's your take on it you know
- 43:20and we it just kind of as a round table it out and then if
- 43:24somebody has the exact language or the exact interpretation or
- 43:27how it's supposed to be handled or you know a Step 4 settlement
- 43:30on that something you know they pull it out oh here I have this
- 43:33or whatever. You know we we reach out to
- 43:35everybody and you know a member comes like hey you know it's
- 43:39this and they show us the proof great.
- 43:41I mean, we get a lot of stuff sent to us that, you know,
- 43:44there's stuff out there right now I would love to talk about,
- 43:47but we can't because we don't have any proof for it until we
- 43:51have a solid evidence and proof on it.
- 43:52Then yeah, I'll be happy to talk about it all day long.
- 43:56Yeah, you know, like Christian was saying, I'll reach out to
- 43:59her or Bill and and say, hey, in this article it says, Does that
- 44:06mean and they'll be like, absolutely.
- 44:10Or you're way off base. This is what it really is.
- 44:15And I'm like, OK, that makes sense.
- 44:18Never mind, forget. It.
- 44:23It's that time of year. And another reminder to
- 44:26everybody here for those of you who are on POV routes, EMA is
- 44:32going to decrease $0.03 per mile December 30th, basically the end
- 44:37of the year. So it will be going down to
- 44:41$0.95 per mile for a minimum of $38 per day for regular carriers
- 44:48on a route or anybody on a route.
- 44:52And employees providing auxiliary assistance or serving
- 44:56auxiliary routes will receive $0.95 per mile or $10.10 per
- 45:02hour, whichever is greater. And the EMA should not exceed
- 45:07the amount provided in the special EMA chart for route
- 45:10stops and miles. So this was the 7th adjustment
- 45:16under the terms of the 2021 to 2024 agreement, and the next
- 45:21quarterly adjustment will occur after the February 2024 CPI
- 45:26release. The cost of everything got up,
- 45:29but the pay is going down for something else.
- 45:33And EMA is not directly related to gas prices, people.
- 45:38No, it is. It is connected to the Consumer
- 45:41Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers and
- 45:48not clerical as in as in Church and Church Ministries, Clerical
- 45:55as in Secretaries, Administrative side.
- 46:05But I it'd be nice at times if it was based off of gas prices,
- 46:09but unfortunately it's not. I notice how I.
- 46:12Get the cost of cars, cost of carports too.
- 46:15Oh, I know. I mean our gas.
- 46:18Prices have gone. Down a little bit lately, but.
- 46:21The other thing is going to say in in my area, the gas prices
- 46:24have dropped. Not a lot, but they have
- 46:26dropped. Yeah.
- 46:31Because nobody's driving to the store to buy their Christmas
- 46:34presents. Yeah.
- 46:36So there's a glut of gasoline. Yeah.
- 46:41Oh, but we're delivering them all.
- 46:44Cheapest price around me right now is 259.
- 46:48That's and it was still see anywhere from 295.
- 46:55Cheapest I saw yesterday going down to Flint was 277.
- 46:59We're still right around 305295 in my area.
- 47:05Yeah, I was just looking at the Air 295 to 3 bucks.
- 47:08Yeah. Southeast PA is at 328.
- 47:14But it's 2/2/79 in Gaylord. I haven't been there since
- 47:20Tuesday and it wasn't quite that low Tuesday when I was there
- 47:24because I did have to fill up on the to come home, but.
- 47:27Gas buddies tell me 289 to three O 9 in my area.
- 47:33Yeah, Yeah. So but really folks, the next
- 47:40steps that we have coming up through this year, we have the
- 47:44last, this is the last few weeks of the year and we're going to
- 47:51be probably pretty heavy on parcels, pretty heavy on getting
- 47:56things out and done, but we're going into a new year, another
- 48:05year in this podcast. I want to add to that real quick
- 48:08though, is yesterday started pay period one.
- 48:15We just finished pay period 26 on Friday.
- 48:18Yesterday started pay period one for the 2024 pay calendar.
- 48:28So you. Can.
- 48:29So what does that mean? That's also coming up after
- 48:32return season and gift card seasoning W2 season.
- 48:37Yeah, and then also if if just if you do your if you have your
- 48:42last paycheck, you get your last paycheck, you can actually start
- 48:46filling out your taxes when you get your pace.
- 48:51Final pay stub Because all the information will be at the
- 48:53bottom of your pay stub. The year to date stuff it'll be.
- 48:57This paycheck is the last one, so that'll be what'll be filed
- 49:00on your taxes. Yeah, I'm going to wait till I
- 49:02get my W2 though I always I always wait and just verify
- 49:07numbers. But it'll it'll give you an
- 49:09idea. Oh yeah.
- 49:12Oh joy, I get to write out another $8000 check to the IRS.
- 49:19Yeah, I won't be getting the tax returns I've had in the past,
- 49:22that's for sure. I yeah, the last two pay periods
- 49:28of the year was as a regular, but my last RCA paycheck beat
- 49:33out my gross year to date. My last RCA paycheck was just
- 49:41over $5000 more than I grossed for the whole entire year last
- 49:45year. My white number.
- 49:48To go into a cash business like, you know, pole dancing at the
- 49:52Blue Oyster because table table one's killing me.
- 49:58No, you. Just need to go to half.
- 50:03You just need to go to Half Cat Bill.
- 50:09Just remember, companies have until the first business day
- 50:14after January 30th to have W2's postmarked.
- 50:20Tell that to the post office. Well, I got.
- 50:27I got mine at the end of February last year.
- 50:32Yeah, I got. I don't get a paper one, mine
- 50:34comes. I just get mine online.
- 50:36I usually usually online. They're posted under postal
- 50:40ease, usually between pay period two and pay period 3 usually.
- 50:46Yeah, that's that's if you can get on Postal Ease and get it
- 50:49this year. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 50:52Yeah. My wife's work don't mail them
- 50:54out at all. They tell them they have to burn
- 50:57them from on, you know the their Internet or the intranet.
- 51:04Yeah, well, I. Don't I don't have a computer.
- 51:08And then the veil. We don't have Internet
- 51:10reception, so how the hell am I supposed to get that?
- 51:15So I did discover today. Get.
- 51:17To them at home they have to print them from work.
- 51:21I did discover today when I went in and was doing my benefits and
- 51:25I went to sign up, you know, to do the FSA, the flexible
- 51:30spending account that it did tell me for 2024.
- 51:34I have to wait until after January 1st to do it.
- 51:41Yep, interesting. Yeah, yeah.
- 51:47I was following the link on Postalisa gave me to go sign up
- 51:51and it told me I had to wait until January 1st 2024 before I
- 51:56could do it. I might have to go in there and
- 52:00with that new login system that they have.
- 52:03Yeah. I I did see where Fast Fed said
- 52:06that that they had a late sign up and they gave you a choice of
- 52:10reasons why you were late and you know I I just put down it
- 52:15was lost in the mail. Yeah, but under as under new
- 52:21hire, which I have to go under as new hire and I have to redo
- 52:25my background check and fingerprints.
- 52:31Why? Yeah, I I had to do that too.
- 52:35Yep, I have until the 29th to do that in office.
- 52:41She is. I'll pay you 8127 time.
- 52:43I said. Thank you that.
- 52:46That's really weird. Yeah, yeah, I guess that's what
- 52:52they do now for when you newly convert is.
- 52:55And I was looking at 'cause she printed off the e-mail and
- 52:58everything, and it's only five years back.
- 53:00Thank goodness I haven't changed anything in five years, so I'm
- 53:03good there. That's good.
- 53:07I haven't had a badge in seven, so you know.
- 53:11Or I still have my original I think in my wallet I had to.
- 53:15I had to turn my turn my badge in when they renewed it for me,
- 53:20which is coming up again next year too do.
- 53:25You have the barcode on yours. Yes, I do.
- 53:28OK yeah I I have the old school without the barcode.
- 53:36Supposedly 2 managers ago they were ordering everyone a new
- 53:40badge with that, but it hasn't happened yet.
- 53:45I should have kept the last badge they gave me.
- 53:47It had my my picture and name on it.
- 53:51Who's the city carrier? You know, I was sitting there
- 53:55going. I don't think so.
- 53:57I remember when I lost my first badge at my old office and then
- 54:00I got a replacement and I asked him to spell my name correctly
- 54:03because I misspelled my first name, as everybody does.
- 54:06It's an IN, not an EN. And then and it came and OK,
- 54:11we'll get taken care of. And then I they gave me the
- 54:12replacement badge and it still had my name spelled incorrectly.
- 54:16So when it expired and I got the new one done at my current
- 54:20office that actually they finally fixed it.
- 54:23And you know, it only took four years, five years.
- 54:28Do we have anything else to talk about tonight, guys?
- 54:31There is one last thing I would like to touch on.
- 54:35We're going into our next election cycle for the Union
- 54:41next year, starting next year, we're going to have to find out.
- 54:45We're going to need people from every single state to be
- 54:50involved in this, because we want recommendations from each
- 54:55and every state and territory for delegates to National
- 55:01Convention, because it is very difficult to coordinate getting
- 55:09people to get together for the delegation.
- 55:12But if we can have at least one person from each state
- 55:15representing help us figure out who is supporting the craft on
- 55:21the delegate list, that would be a big bonus for everybody
- 55:27involved. Because in order to make this
- 55:31craft better, we need a delegation that wants to make
- 55:33this craft better, that wants to move us to the next generation
- 55:38and doesn't want to just keep the same old, same old.
- 55:41And for those of you that are that make delegate, that'll be
- 55:44first time delegates. Just as a heads up, the room
- 55:48blocks usually open up the beginning of May.
- 55:51I notice it kind of falls around the same time mid States
- 55:54conference does when they open up the room.
- 55:56Blocks. Yeah.
- 55:57For a national. It does require a one nights
- 56:01deposit at the time of booking. It can be, you know, if you're
- 56:06going by yourself, it can be costly.
- 56:08That's where you look at having roommates and you don't have to
- 56:12room with people from your own state.
- 56:15Yeah, you can. You know, if you've got a buddy
- 56:18at a nearby state or state across the country and you guys
- 56:21want to get, you know, go together, you know, you, you you
- 56:25make those connections on the social webs or conferences or
- 56:29whatnot, You can room with people from anywhere.
- 56:33It doesn't matter when it comes to rooming, and it does
- 56:35definitely does. In Orlando, I had someone from
- 56:38Michigan and someone from Florida.
- 56:41Two people from North Carolina. So yeah, you know, it's it
- 56:48definitely does help the cost with the roommate.
- 56:50I will say that for sure. Yeah, that was the Menage
- 56:54Cuatro. Yeah, we won't go there.
- 57:01I think that Bush is calling your name Bill.
- 57:03Yeah, OK. Snuggle bear.
- 57:09Oh boy. Never living that one down,
- 57:16you're just lucky you didn't bring his cat.
- 57:20Thank God. But we we really want to start
- 57:25working towards getting towards this next National Convention
- 57:29because in order to progress this union and grow this union
- 57:34and make this union the best world carrier union ever
- 57:40overall, we need people that have that passion, have that
- 57:44desire to serve the craft. So if if if you're one of those
- 57:53in any states, we're looking for 51 States and we're going to
- 57:56make a post on our Facebook group asking for a
- 58:00representative from each state who would be willing to provide
- 58:06a delegate list to the to the group.
- 58:12So if you can help us out, reach out.
- 58:15All right, guys. Anything else tonight as we are
- 58:18wrapping this 2023 year up? Woo Hoo, it's the end of the
- 58:25year. I will say guys, last week of
- 58:30Christmas OT is this week. A week from tomorrow is
- 58:34Christmas Day. Two weeks from tomorrow is New
- 58:36Year's Day. Be safe out there.
- 58:40We've got this one more week to go.
- 58:44Enjoy the time with your families.
- 58:45Enjoy your Christmas holidays. Enjoy New Year's.
- 58:50Don't overindulge. If you do overindulge, please be
- 58:53safe and responsible. Have a designated driver or stay
- 58:58at home and overindulge. That's all I can say about that
- 59:02one. Go ahead guys.
- 59:03Final comments for this evening, Josh.
- 59:07Like Kristen just said, stay safe, be diligent.
- 59:11It's still getting darker earlier.
- 59:17I'm telling you Kristen does finger flashlight gloves or God
- 59:24sent. I know I the first day I had
- 59:27them I showed one of the city carriers and he ordered 3 pairs,
- 59:33one for himself and 1:00 to give to his teeth.
- 59:36Ricks and someone else. I just had one of the other
- 59:41world carriers saw, you know, saw me pull them out and she's
- 59:45like where, you know, asked me for a link to them so she can
- 59:51order a pair for herself. So, you know, and like you said,
- 59:56there's no glare on the windshield when you're, you
- 59:59know, when they're on. And last night it was like pitch
- 1:00:04black out there was finishing delivering and I was able to
- 1:00:08read the addresses. It was beautiful thing.
- 1:00:12Do not get yourselves overwhelmed.
- 1:00:14If you do, take a step back. Take a deep breath, step back in
- 1:00:20again. Be safe.
- 1:00:23We'll see you next year. James, go ahead.
- 1:00:31Unlike Kristen, I know it's more than one week of trouble for us
- 1:00:36for the rest of the year, as we said earlier, with the excess
- 1:00:40packages returns, plus people using gift cards and so on.
- 1:00:44But we're going to get through it.
- 1:00:47We're going to get into the new year and we're going to keep
- 1:00:50moving forward on making this a better craft for everybody.
- 1:00:56So no matter what, remember, we're all in this together.
- 1:01:00James is right, you know. We need your input in regards to
- 1:01:05the delegates. We need your your insight into
- 1:01:07the the character of the individuals you you prefer to
- 1:01:14select for your national delegates.
- 1:01:17And that is so critical in us trying to get the national board
- 1:01:21changed to a a representative body that has our views and our
- 1:01:27interests at heart. And you know, one of the things
- 1:01:32that, you know, I really, really would like to point out is that
- 1:01:36we need somebody in the national, you know, steward
- 1:01:39operations that will put some teeth back into the steward
- 1:01:43system. And there's plenty of horror
- 1:01:47stories out there. There's there's there's some
- 1:01:49good stories about, you know, AD Rs and locals and everything
- 1:01:52else and and and one or two D Rs that I know personally.
- 1:01:56But we need to give the Steward system some teeth and that
- 1:02:00starts with leadership and that's one of the major
- 1:02:03positions that has to be changed as the, you know, director of
- 1:02:06Stewart Operation. So folks, you know, please
- 1:02:10participate in this request so we can get the delegates on
- 1:02:14board and then represent at the National Convention and change
- 1:02:18the entire national board to the body that it is supposed to be
- 1:02:24that that represents the craft, not themselves, but the craft.
- 1:02:30With that, you know you've got the the next week coming up,
- 1:02:33you're going to have the overflow after that, you're
- 1:02:36going to have the returns after that.
- 1:02:38On top of that, you're going to have the sales after Christmas.
- 1:02:41So the next two or three weeks are still going to be heavy to a
- 1:02:44certain extent. Be safe.
- 1:02:47It's dark out there. Some of you are operating in
- 1:02:50wintry conditions. You know, be careful, you know
- 1:02:53if you're unsafe, you know, jump off the route, take it back.
- 1:02:59It's not worth injury to you. It's not worth getting
- 1:03:01disciplined for a a a wrecked vehicle or a damaged mailbox or
- 1:03:06anything else like that. Take care of yourselves, OK?
- 1:03:11You're the most important delivery of the day, especially
- 1:03:13at this time of year and and last year I had a a very close
- 1:03:17friend and customer, JoJo Kra who had been suffering for
- 1:03:23months and I told him, I says you need to get for Christmas.
- 1:03:27You need to, to make sure that you're here with your family,
- 1:03:30your children, grandchildren, your great grandchildren, I
- 1:03:33said. Because if you ruin the holidays
- 1:03:34by dying, I said I'm going to dig you up and kick your ass.
- 1:03:40That made him laugh and smile and all and and he did.
- 1:03:43He he made it, he made it to February till he passed.
- 1:03:46And you know, this is the type of relationship, you know,
- 1:03:51people all builds an angry person builds A troublemaker.
- 1:03:54You know, this family basically adopted me and my wife, and we
- 1:04:00went to family picnics and the 65th wedding anniversary and
- 1:04:03everything. And let me tell you that there
- 1:04:06was never a better soul that I've encountered in my life than
- 1:04:09Joe Junkra. And it's a shame somebody like
- 1:04:13him has to pass. Or, you know, one of my
- 1:04:16customers had their dog die this past week.
- 1:04:18When there's so many more people out there that, you know, I'd
- 1:04:21rather see go to heaven before them.
- 1:04:23But be safe, you know, Get home to your loved ones.
- 1:04:28Enjoy the holidays. Most of us will be able to enjoy
- 1:04:32a A A2 day, You know holiday this year.
- 1:04:35Some of us won't. RCA is most likely in the PT, FS
- 1:04:38and whoever volunteers. Do your best to your job,
- 1:04:44efficiently, safely, professionally, and then get
- 1:04:47your ass home to your loved ones.
- 1:04:49OK, because it's not what's under the tree accounts, it's
- 1:04:54what's around the tree. It's the people surrounding that
- 1:04:56tree with the love, the warmth and sincerity of a family.
- 1:05:01All right, everybody, have a Merry Christmas.
- 1:05:04God bless you all. Thank you guys.
- 1:05:08And I'll say it again, everybody.
- 1:05:10Have a very happy Christmas, Merry Christmas, a Happy New
- 1:05:14Year. Stay safe and we will see you in
- 1:05:172024. To all of our listeners.
- 1:05:34Everyone, be safe. Have a Merry Christmas.
- 1:05:36And a happy new year.
