In an article by Christina Stefanou, BA (Hons) Marita P. McCabe, PhD - in The Journal of Sexual Medicine 2012, the association between adult Attachment and sexual functioning was the subject of an important research. The results demonstrated that higher levels of anxious and Avoidant Attachment were related to less satisfying sexual relationships, higher levels of sexual dysfunction, and different sexual intercourse frequencies and motivations for sex.
