- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, we have liftoff for another exciting episode of
- 0:04Speaker 1: Off the Air, the weekly podcast from the Lynch and
- 0:06Speaker 1: Taco Show. Here at one oh one w j r
- 0:09Speaker 1: R in Orlando. I Pat Lynch, Taco Bob.
- 0:11Speaker 2: We had lived off in the first hour of our
- 0:14Speaker 2: on air show this morning as well.
- 0:16Speaker 1: That was cool. If you listen to this and you
- 0:18Speaker 1: are not in the central Florida area, boy oh boy,
- 0:22Speaker 1: it's a treat that we get. Next time you visits.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Do it when there's a launch scheduled, which is almost
- 0:28Speaker 1: every day now thanks to SpaceX. But you had another
- 0:31Speaker 1: one of those early morning ones. Crystal Clear out this morning.
- 0:35Speaker 1: See it perfect? Yep, this morning. That's cool. Hey, something
- 0:40Speaker 1: occurred to me and I think I know what you're
- 0:44Speaker 1: going to say when I ask you this. Okay. You
- 0:47Speaker 1: know how when we're doing our regular morning show every day,
- 0:52Speaker 1: within the commercial breaks, there's promotions for various podcasts that
- 0:58Speaker 1: are offered through the free iHeartRadio app. Oh yeah, and uh,
- 1:04Speaker 1: I just I was wondering, do you think that this podcast,
- 1:08Speaker 1: the Off the Air podcast from the Lynch and Taco Show,
- 1:12Speaker 1: is promoted on other stations and other markets across the country.
- 1:16Speaker 1: You know, to get more people turned onto this.
- 1:18Speaker 2: I can give you a one hundred percent answer, not
- 1:22Speaker 2: a chance in hell.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Right, which is you know, interviewing one oh one. Rule
- 1:27Speaker 1: number one, don't ask any questions that you don't already
- 1:29Speaker 1: know the answer to. Yeah, that's true. I just wanted
- 1:32Speaker 1: your validation there, m h is validated. Oh if they
- 1:35Speaker 1: asked us to come up with a promo to entice
- 1:38Speaker 1: people and other markets to tune into our park, can
- 1:41Speaker 1: you imagine? Hey there, it's Lynchen Taco from wj R
- 1:44Speaker 1: R Dad in Orlando. Now we know what you're thinking
- 1:47Speaker 1: when you hear the word Orlando theme park capital of
- 1:50Speaker 1: the World.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Our podcast has absolutely nothing to do with that. We
- 1:54Speaker 2: love the theme parks because it brings the money, but
- 1:57Speaker 2: we love fart and dick jokes. Moore, you leave it
- 2:00Speaker 2: again off the air podcast with Lynch and Tacos. And
- 2:04Speaker 2: then I throw in that line of it's a pool party,
- 2:08Speaker 2: everybody's welcome.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Yes, I'm on end, jump in the pool with us.
- 2:12Speaker 1: So as you like to say, we can hope in
- 2:14Speaker 1: one hand and yeah shit the other right, that's definite, right.
- 2:19Speaker 2: I think some of those ones might be like paid off,
- 2:22Speaker 2: you know, like possibly I can't say that for sure.
- 2:26Speaker 2: But do you notice something that I do every well.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Actually I can't really say that, Sure you can.
- 2:31Speaker 2: It's the podcast every time that they play. Do you
- 2:34Speaker 2: notice what I do? Yeah, that's what I'm getting.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Head in the palm of your hand.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I just anyway, mother always said if you
- 2:43Speaker 2: don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Did you just say, mother, Yeah, Oh my god, you're
- 2:50Speaker 1: what you do? No? No, no, no no. And I
- 2:53Speaker 1: know the answer is going to be yes to a
- 2:54Speaker 1: lot of you when I or from you when I
- 2:56Speaker 1: ask you this this monster thing that's Netflix right now,
- 3:01Speaker 1: the ed Geen story, I don't know. Okay, ed Gen
- 3:06Speaker 1: is a serial kill.
- 3:07Speaker 2: I know the one you're talking about, because they interview
- 3:09Speaker 2: his daughter in Star or something like that.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I've seen it. No, it's it's it's a it's
- 3:15Speaker 1: not it's not a it's a dramatic series, would Charlie hoonem. Yeah, anyway,
- 3:22Speaker 1: he ed Gean. And this isn't one hundred percent for sure,
- 3:28Speaker 1: But the word is is that the film's Psycho and
- 3:31Speaker 1: Texas Chainsaw Massacre are both loosely based on ed Gean's antics.
- 3:38Speaker 1: You know, way back in the forties and fifties I
- 3:41Speaker 1: think was the time frame, maybe even earlier. Yeah, we're
- 3:44Speaker 1: talking about the same show. But that's why I come
- 3:46Speaker 1: into Mother. The whole ed lived with mother. Oh yeah,
- 3:51Speaker 1: and he called her mother and.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Mother probably knew what he was doing but just covered
- 3:57Speaker 2: it up.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Mother was a lunatic. What she what she ended up
- 4:04Speaker 1: doing was sexually repressing her beloved son Eddie as she
- 4:08Speaker 1: called him, and she did not want him getting any
- 4:13Speaker 1: harlots or Jezebel's because she referred to him as And
- 4:18Speaker 1: you know, it's the old you know, you forbid your
- 4:21Speaker 1: child from doing something, and you tell them over and over,
- 4:23Speaker 1: don't do this, don't do this. The first thing you're gonna.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Do is somebody said that to us today. You tell
- 4:27Speaker 2: a kid to touch stuff, they're gonna keep touching it.
- 4:30Speaker 1: So ed you know, one of the more prolific and
- 4:34Speaker 1: interesting serial killers of our time, well of pre many
- 4:38Speaker 1: previous generations. But uh, I'm about halfway through this thing
- 4:44Speaker 1: and I I had to come up for air during
- 4:47Speaker 1: one of the episodes. It was just so you would
- 4:51Speaker 1: there is no chance in hell you would ever watch this.
- 4:55Speaker 2: No. Instead, my taste is I was watching. They released
- 4:59Speaker 2: h two more of the episodes from that uh powers,
- 5:04Speaker 2: you know the football sad power, Chad powers you hearing?
- 5:08Speaker 2: Ain'ty buzz about that? Nope, I didn't think so. No,
- 5:11Speaker 2: it is kind of cool for the episodes they do.
- 5:13Speaker 2: First quarter is the first one? Second quarter?
- 5:15Speaker 1: Oh they got broken up like that? Yeah, so it's a.
- 5:18Speaker 2: It's no, but it's not like a quarter of a game.
- 5:21Speaker 2: It's just that we're being creative. Like it's in the
- 5:23Speaker 2: same first episode.
- 5:24Speaker 1: I don't know if Mother would approve.
- 5:27Speaker 3: So he's watching the show like Mother and I'm monster
- 5:31Speaker 3: whatever and I'm watching you know those Chad powers different
- 5:36Speaker 3: strokes one hundred percent.
- 5:37Speaker 2: And that's why our show works on and well kind
- 5:40Speaker 2: of off the air, which is not another.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Market, speaking of stuff on TV, real quick? Can can
- 5:45Speaker 1: we just go back to this real quick from something
- 5:46Speaker 1: we didn't have I think enough time to elaborate on
- 5:49Speaker 1: this morning.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Before we get off the mother like the crazy Mother.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Yeah, did you have.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Just remind me crazy mother after you do this?
- 5:58Speaker 1: Okay, this whole a thing in Miami with his now
- 6:02Speaker 1: his apology, his public apology to his teammates. I just
- 6:07Speaker 1: I've been thinking about this some more, and I just
- 6:10Speaker 1: most of you are up to speed on the whole thing.
- 6:12Speaker 1: After the latest Dolphins collapsed and lost this past weekend,
- 6:16Speaker 1: he in the postgame press conference called out some of
- 6:19Speaker 1: his fellow teammates for either skipping or being late to
- 6:24Speaker 1: player only meetings. Yeah, okay, which very well could be
- 6:30Speaker 1: an accurate statement. And there probably are multiple teammates of
- 6:34Speaker 1: his that were late or skipped his player only meetings
- 6:38Speaker 1: for whatever reasons. That's between them. But as you said,
- 6:42Speaker 1: Dick move, and that's what most people think. And the coach,
- 6:44Speaker 1: even Mike McDaniel is as hot as his seat is,
- 6:47Speaker 1: still took time to even point that out, and as
- 6:49Speaker 1: a result too, I ended up apologizing, Dude, they're gonna
- 6:54Speaker 1: get killed this weekend. I don't care they're playing at Cleveland.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Oh forget it. It's not that the Browns are setting
- 7:01Speaker 1: the world on fire. It's just all of this behind
- 7:05Speaker 1: the scenes drama, which is so needless at this point
- 7:08Speaker 1: with a team that's already in disarray. They're just setting
- 7:10Speaker 1: themselves up for disaster on Sunday.
- 7:13Speaker 2: And that's what a lot of people said. When I
- 7:15Speaker 2: was watching different players talk about former players and active
- 7:20Speaker 2: players talk about to a doing that. Yeah, this apology,
- 7:24Speaker 2: I'm sorry that apology is too late. For one, you
- 7:27Speaker 2: were forced to do it, basically, and every one of
- 7:30Speaker 2: these present and former players said, nobody knew about that
- 7:35Speaker 2: drama in your locker room. Nobody. Now you brought that out.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Even one of the coaches on the show said said,
- 7:44Speaker 2: why would you introduce locker room drama that nobody knows about?
- 7:48Speaker 2: And they asked every different person and they all said,
- 7:52Speaker 2: that is complete bullshit that he did that, and it
- 7:54Speaker 2: was a dumb move.
- 7:56Speaker 1: And the bigger problem is you said the word drama
- 7:59Speaker 1: that that that that exists right now means trouble period,
- 8:03Speaker 1: much less now, making it very public and out front.
- 8:07Speaker 1: And I can't help as a Dolphins fan just really,
- 8:13Speaker 1: I'm not I'm not jumping off. I'm just what's it
- 8:18Speaker 1: going to take for that franchise to to get it right?
- 8:20Speaker 1: It has been forever since they've done anything.
- 8:24Speaker 2: I don't know, I do not know the answer for that.
- 8:27Speaker 2: I mean, they have pretty good players. I say, you
- 8:29Speaker 2: brought it in a different new quarterback.
- 8:31Speaker 1: I am starting to buy into this Belichick theory that's
- 8:34Speaker 1: been getting floated around that you know, the word is
- 8:37Speaker 1: he wants out of the college ranks. That's turned into
- 8:40Speaker 1: a disaster and they want him out. And Steven Ross,
- 8:44Speaker 1: the Dolphins owner, has gobs. He's a multi billionaire, and
- 8:49Speaker 1: it is known to make flashy moves. And it doesn't
- 8:54Speaker 1: get any flashier than hiring a non flashy guy in Belichick. No,
- 8:59Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. As unflashy as Belichick is
- 9:03Speaker 1: in his own personality, it's a flashy move if you
- 9:06Speaker 1: were to bring him in. But then you also got
- 9:10Speaker 1: are you a little too late with Belichick where he's
- 9:14Speaker 1: at these days? I don't know, man, Ever since he's
- 9:17Speaker 1: this whole Jordan Hudson thing has started with him, it's
- 9:19Speaker 1: just been it almost seems like football is not the priorityary.
- 9:23Speaker 2: I mean, Jordan would want to live in Miami.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Sure, the influencer opportunities exactly.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's I think it's a good fit
- 9:30Speaker 2: because Miami has good players. You have him come in
- 9:34Speaker 2: and and I mean McDaniel seem to be doing well
- 9:38Speaker 2: a few seasons ago, but he's not pulling it off now.
- 9:42Speaker 2: So so you know, Belichick might attract a better quarterback
- 9:47Speaker 2: and and sit to on the as the bench warmer.
- 9:50Speaker 1: You know, for a bit comments coming in. You had
- 9:54Speaker 1: me at fart and dick jokes since two thousand and four. Okay,
- 9:56Speaker 1: well appreciate that. Also a question, are we planning to
- 10:00Speaker 1: do Earthday birthday in twenty twenty six. Yes, we are
- 10:03Speaker 1: planning on doing that. Yeah, it's happening. When it will
- 10:07Speaker 1: be announced that we can't answer right now. That's still
- 10:11Speaker 1: being worked on. I know Taco is hard at work
- 10:13Speaker 1: on that.
- 10:14Speaker 2: I've got, you know, the tea's crossed and the eyes
- 10:19Speaker 2: most of them dotted. But it'll be it'll be pretty
- 10:21Speaker 2: soon that we announce it. So Dolphins, good luck.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I just I think Sunday could be utterly disastrous
- 10:32Speaker 1: with another loss, and then I think that'll be it
- 10:34Speaker 1: for McDaniel. And it's not like they're going to turn around.
- 10:38Speaker 1: If Belichick comes into the mix, it wouldn't be till
- 10:40Speaker 1: next season. He's not gonna come in. I think he'll
- 10:43Speaker 1: probably make it through the rest of the season at
- 10:45Speaker 1: North Carolina. Then they'll agree to say, hey, this didn't
- 10:48Speaker 1: work out.
- 10:49Speaker 2: I'm glad that I'm not involved in either one of those.
- 10:51Speaker 2: We'll franchisees. We'll see or maybe it could college or
- 10:54Speaker 2: the pro could be completely off the mark.
- 10:56Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 10:58Speaker 2: So when you said crazy mom, like that mother in
- 11:03Speaker 2: a moment what we were talking about previously? And I
- 11:06Speaker 2: know you had skelet Bumps going to get your back?
- 11:09Speaker 2: Did you have.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Skelly Bump's going to get your booty? Okay?
- 11:12Speaker 2: Besides Scully Bump, did you have a crazy person that
- 11:18Speaker 2: lived in your zone?
- 11:20Speaker 1: Oh? Yeah, yeah, what you mean growing up? Yeah?
- 11:24Speaker 2: Growing up there was like it came to mind because
- 11:27Speaker 2: we had this lady and I was thinking about her.
- 11:30Speaker 2: And she was right down the street from uh Brookshire
- 11:34Speaker 2: Elementary and her name was Claire okay, and she was
- 11:41Speaker 2: straight up batshit crazy, drove this big old tank car.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Was she crazy because she like lost her marbles old
- 11:50Speaker 1: or No?
- 11:50Speaker 2: It wasn't like it wasn't like dementia or any of that. No,
- 11:54Speaker 2: she was just crazy. I'm talking when she was in
- 11:57Speaker 2: her probably if I was, it was probably her early sixties.
- 12:03Speaker 2: But she was always crazy. What happened with Claire, I
- 12:06Speaker 2: just didn't know about her back then, But when when
- 12:09Speaker 2: with the time period that I did, I'd always remember
- 12:12Speaker 2: she'd drive into the seven to eleven in her big
- 12:15Speaker 2: old battle Ax car, you know, like the Cadillac Catalina
- 12:18Speaker 2: or whatever, and she'd get out in her her sparkly
- 12:21Speaker 2: shoes like bright red or bright blue, sparkles, lipstick all
- 12:26Speaker 2: over her face, just a just a nut job. And
- 12:30Speaker 2: we used to ride by her house. That's why I
- 12:33Speaker 2: was asking if you had a crazy person in your area.
- 12:36Speaker 2: We would ride by our house on the way to
- 12:37Speaker 2: Brookshire Elementary and always go crazy. Claire ain't got no
- 12:43Speaker 2: hair anywhere, and she'd come barreling out of that door
- 12:47Speaker 2: with a broom, running and chasing it out.
- 12:50Speaker 1: What was she going to do with the broom? Hit
- 12:52Speaker 1: the shit out of the tun Did she ever whack
- 12:54Speaker 1: any of She took.
- 12:55Speaker 2: A whack at once because got Hane fell off the bike.
- 12:59Speaker 2: So now I'm running with the bike, right yeah, but
- 13:02Speaker 2: no connection because you know, she's running in her heels
- 13:05Speaker 2: or whatever. But it drove her crazy. Then we'd see
- 13:08Speaker 2: her at the wind Dixie and we'd have to hide
- 13:11Speaker 2: from her because she knew we were the three little shitheads, right, Cob,
- 13:15Speaker 2: Dave and I. It would do it. But everybody knew Claire,
- 13:18Speaker 2: whatever her last name was, was crazy as balls.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Even parents knew it.
- 13:22Speaker 2: And it just got me thinking it was a little sidetracking.
- 13:24Speaker 1: My We had a woman lived on the same street
- 13:27Speaker 1: I grew up on. Her name was was Genie, and
- 13:32Speaker 1: then she had her her son of a bitch son, Bradley.
- 13:37Speaker 1: He was he was one of the hell raisers. Just
- 13:41Speaker 1: he was completely dirty kid. Okay, okay, And the kid
- 13:45Speaker 1: was just a juvenile delinquent. He was younger then, let's say,
- 13:51Speaker 1: he was probably my brother is the youngest of us four. Yeah,
- 13:56Speaker 1: Bradley was probably a year or two younger than even
- 13:59Speaker 1: my brother. Okay. And Bradley was always getting into all
- 14:04Speaker 1: sorts of trouble. And it was because his mother, Genie,
- 14:08Speaker 1: did not give a rat's ass about anything, and she
- 14:12Speaker 1: was just a horrible, mean person. Their house was a wreck.
- 14:16Speaker 1: She drove this hot rod and would race up and
- 14:19Speaker 1: down the street if kids were out playing, and she
- 14:22Speaker 1: didn't care sick. She would curse out everybody left and right.
- 14:28Speaker 1: And yet this she was probably probably only in her
- 14:33Speaker 1: forties forties. No, she was probably more like in her
- 14:36Speaker 1: late twenties, early thirties at that time when I was,
- 14:39Speaker 1: you know, young enough to still be at home with
- 14:41Speaker 1: my brothers and sisters. Single mom. No, she that was
- 14:44Speaker 1: the other thing. She lived in the house with her father,
- 14:48Speaker 1: who was also completely batshit crazy, and the whole neighborhood
- 14:54Speaker 1: just was like, can we just wall that place off?
- 14:57Speaker 1: And it was always something going on there.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Cy crazy does Yeah, everybody has that crazy person.
- 15:04Speaker 1: They grew up in the neighborhood. The cops were there
- 15:06Speaker 1: at least a couple times a month. Yeah.
- 15:08Speaker 2: We also had we also had the upside down flaghouse.
- 15:14Speaker 1: You remember that.
- 15:14Speaker 2: That made it in the news a lot.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Remember they got by the way. Bradley lived two doors
- 15:20Speaker 1: down from Tony and Dino, who were two little dick
- 15:24Speaker 1: the two little shitheads that cut the heads off my turtles. Yeah.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Yeah, with the they ran together.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Oh my god, ton and Bradley. Yeah, I remember I
- 15:35Speaker 1: told you, Did I ever tell you? Jail right now?
- 15:37Speaker 1: Probably dead or in jail. There's there's no there's no
- 15:40Speaker 1: two ways about I. I babysat Tony and you told
- 15:45Speaker 1: them one time at once, and I just I I
- 15:51Speaker 1: was probably sixteen, and I just wanted to make some money,
- 15:55Speaker 1: and I don't know, this would be easy money. I
- 15:56Speaker 1: can deal with these two little.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Turns concert or beer money.
- 15:59Speaker 1: I can do this. Couldn't it worst time ever? When? When?
- 16:03Speaker 1: When they're when mister and missus Tony and Dino got
- 16:07Speaker 1: home from wherever the hell they were. And I don't
- 16:09Speaker 1: know what time it was. It was probably in all actuality,
- 16:11Speaker 1: about ten o'clock at night. It might have been might
- 16:14Speaker 1: have been three in the morning, because that's how long
- 16:16Speaker 1: it seemed like it was.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Trying to watch those little and with your patience level,
- 16:20Speaker 2: well I know you were sixteen.
- 16:22Speaker 1: But yeah, it just it was insane. Yeah.
- 16:25Speaker 2: The uh yeah, we had remember the upside down flaghouse
- 16:29Speaker 2: that I told you about. It was all over the
- 16:31Speaker 2: news in the in the eighties and I think it
- 16:35Speaker 2: might still happen.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Which is a distress sign. Yeah, flags upside down exactly,
- 16:39Speaker 1: and they did. They were just disrespectful these days if
- 16:42Speaker 1: you want to.
- 16:42Speaker 2: I think that the family lost somebody in uh while
- 16:47Speaker 2: in military, you know what I'm saying, Like a military
- 16:50Speaker 2: doctors lost as one of their children.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Maybe. Okay, So they had trees and written all over
- 16:55Speaker 1: the house. Just google treason. It was this.
- 16:59Speaker 2: It was some crazy shit. Pet They had a tower
- 17:04Speaker 2: that they would go up in with a bullhorn and.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Say the government is brainwashing us. All they were.
- 17:12Speaker 2: It was the craziest thing. We grew up with that,
- 17:16Speaker 2: you know, less than a mile from the house, probably
- 17:18Speaker 2: a mile from the house, and the whole house was
- 17:21Speaker 2: painted as an upside down flag. They had upside down
- 17:24Speaker 2: flags all over. It was a it was like a
- 17:27Speaker 2: tourist attraction that people when visiting, they'd go, oh, you
- 17:32Speaker 2: gotta go see this, And it was I can't even
- 17:37Speaker 2: explain to you. I mean, they did things like when
- 17:39Speaker 2: winter park police were coming to arrest them for raising
- 17:42Speaker 2: hell up there again in the tower and shooting red,
- 17:45Speaker 2: white and blue paint all over the roads, came and
- 17:48Speaker 2: got arrested, and they covered themselves in oil.
- 17:51Speaker 1: How did they How did they permit this to go
- 17:54Speaker 1: on in a beautiful winter park in the zone of
- 17:56Speaker 1: operation there is the usually put up with that kind
- 17:58Speaker 1: of shenanigans there.
- 18:00Speaker 2: It was a little over you know what I'm saying.
- 18:02Speaker 2: It wasn't it was.
- 18:04Speaker 1: It was address a winter parking address only, yes, I
- 18:08Speaker 1: got it exactly so. But what was they gonna say?
- 18:13Speaker 2: Oh, yes, they covered themselves. When I say oil, I'm
- 18:15Speaker 2: talking twenty w fifty motor oil to get in the
- 18:18Speaker 2: back of the cop cars because they were getting arrested.
- 18:22Speaker 2: These are the kids doing this, The teenagers It was
- 18:26Speaker 2: the nuttiest thing whatever happened to him. I think that
- 18:30Speaker 2: the house might still have I have to google it.
- 18:34Speaker 2: But it was in when we had, you know, the
- 18:37Speaker 2: the winter parks in the olen Orlandos Satin evolved into.
- 18:41Speaker 2: They were in the paper all the time, they were
- 18:43Speaker 2: on the news all the time. They'd say the so
- 18:46Speaker 2: and sos are edited again, and they'd show them up
- 18:48Speaker 2: there with the wall like a fire hydrant they hooked
- 18:51Speaker 2: into with a hose.
- 18:52Speaker 1: So they were. They were even ahead of the Altamont
- 18:54Speaker 1: junk man in a hog in a local airtime.
- 18:57Speaker 2: He had nothing on the upside down a flowghouse. It
- 19:03Speaker 2: was for It was crazy, but yeah, Windor Park. Yeah,
- 19:08Speaker 2: it only got away because it was not a real
- 19:11Speaker 2: winter park address kind of thing. Winter Park, Florida. American
- 19:16Speaker 2: Flaghouse yep, Grover Grover Walker's house was eventually repainted as
- 19:21Speaker 2: an American flag and his flagpole was chopped down to
- 19:25Speaker 2: more reasonable fifteen foot. Oh let me see. Now this
- 19:31Speaker 2: doesn't show you it too well. But that, oh now
- 19:36Speaker 2: it does.
- 19:38Speaker 1: This is after they redid it.
- 19:40Speaker 2: That's for the listeners to see. But pat the just
- 19:46Speaker 2: crazy stuff they would do. We all got every.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Neighborhood has somebody on here commenting Brian saying, wait, I'm sorry.
- 19:56Speaker 1: I used to live next to a retention pond, had
- 20:00Speaker 1: this crazy neighbor who would feed the ducks within days.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Next thing, you know, hundreds of ducks, uh huh feeding
- 20:07Speaker 1: you just the few thanks. They quack to each other,
- 20:11Speaker 1: and you know, word gets.
- 20:12Speaker 2: Out and now they're crapping all over his cars and
- 20:15Speaker 2: his sidewalks. It says being in the neighborhood, I had
- 20:19Speaker 2: to go buy this house. So I'm I'm there taking
- 20:22Speaker 2: pictures and this little guard dog runs over to me,
- 20:25Speaker 2: yapping away and wouldn't stop until the owner came out
- 20:28Speaker 2: to get them. I continued to take pictures and when
- 20:31Speaker 2: I was done left. The owner never questioned what I
- 20:33Speaker 2: was doing because they liked the pat It was Uss Dreyfist.
- 20:39Speaker 2: They had a problem with all this stuff, and even
- 20:43Speaker 2: the FAA got involved. Put oh yeah, put a giant siren.
- 20:48Speaker 1: I forgot about that part. Like, you know, the person
- 20:50Speaker 1: that we had recently into all of this you're describing
- 20:53Speaker 1: right now sounds like if they were still operational, they're
- 20:57Speaker 1: probably part of some civilian militia in Michigan. Yeah, something right,
- 21:02Speaker 1: now planning a government takeover.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Said they the FAA got involved and tried to make
- 21:09Speaker 2: him take it down. The U the upside down flag
- 21:12Speaker 2: and also the siren because it was interfering with the
- 21:16Speaker 2: flight path in the area. Think about Oya flying over
- 21:20Speaker 2: and he's got this siren.
- 21:22Speaker 1: It was. Think about you live next door and you're
- 21:23Speaker 1: just trying to go to bed at night and there's
- 21:25Speaker 1: an air raid siren.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Yeah, Or that you have parades of cars coming to
- 21:29Speaker 2: see the upside down flaghouse.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Yeah, that was.
- 21:34Speaker 2: It was in Tampa Bay Times, the Roadside America, Oddball,
- 21:40Speaker 2: Orlando Properties, Winter Park City protesting walker for Code Violet.
- 21:45Speaker 2: It was, it was.
- 21:47Speaker 1: It was crazy. Oh hey, before we run out of time,
- 21:49Speaker 1: I wanted to bring this up because this saga has
- 21:51Speaker 1: been going on for over two years at this point.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Any of you who lived local and ever, you know,
- 21:57Speaker 1: keep up with any of the news. This one used
- 22:00Speaker 1: auto dealership has been in the news for the last
- 22:03Speaker 1: couple of years called Benji Auto. They've got a place
- 22:07Speaker 1: on Obt and then they've got another location I think
- 22:10Speaker 1: in South Florida and they've just it's one of those
- 22:14Speaker 1: joints where customers just filed complain after complain after complaint,
- 22:20Speaker 1: and one of the TV stations locally, I think it
- 22:22Speaker 1: was Channel nine decided, okay, let's let's look into some
- 22:25Speaker 1: of these complaints and found some validity to those and
- 22:32Speaker 1: has been following up ever since. The update is they
- 22:35Speaker 1: have the state now has taken their license, their occupational license.
- 22:40Speaker 1: They can't operate anymore. The final straw I guess is
- 22:43Speaker 1: they have once again pulled this maneuver. I want you
- 22:46Speaker 1: to think about this next time you're going to do
- 22:48Speaker 1: a car deal wherever it is, all right, A lot
- 22:51Speaker 1: of times you have a trade in, right, yeah, maybe
- 22:54Speaker 1: your trade in you still owe money on, right, and
- 22:56Speaker 1: you know how you work that deal. The dealership all well, okay,
- 22:59Speaker 1: well we'll work this out and we'll pay off what
- 23:01Speaker 1: you Oh, we just their goal is to get you
- 23:03Speaker 1: into whatever car they're trying to sell you, whatever interest
- 23:05Speaker 1: rate they're trying to get you in. This joint was
- 23:10Speaker 1: like okay, yeah, well get you whatever you want. We'll
- 23:13Speaker 1: pay off your other car, and they do the deal,
- 23:15Speaker 1: You sign all the paperwork, you leave. Then you find
- 23:17Speaker 1: out down the road that they never bothered to pay
- 23:20Speaker 1: off the balance of the car you traded into them.
- 23:22Speaker 1: So not only do they have the car you got
- 23:23Speaker 1: rid of, but they haven't paid it off yet, and
- 23:26Speaker 1: now you're on the hook for not one, but two payments.
- 23:28Speaker 2: It got me thinking when you said that that I
- 23:31Speaker 2: guarantee the mindset. I can't speak for them, so I'm
- 23:34Speaker 2: just saying, in my mind, this would be the mindset. Look,
- 23:38Speaker 2: this person is at bottom of the barrel right now,
- 23:42Speaker 2: shopping here for a car. By the time they even
- 23:45Speaker 2: notice that we didn't pay off the first one, and
- 23:48Speaker 2: their credit is just shot. By the time that comes,
- 23:53Speaker 2: I'm already gonna be gone. I won't be working here anymore.
- 23:56Speaker 2: So you know, started working deals guarantee.
- 23:58Speaker 1: It, dude. Is you know one of my all time
- 24:00Speaker 1: favorite movies is Used Cars? Huh? And that movie has
- 24:04Speaker 1: just about every type of back room scam that they
- 24:09Speaker 1: pull in these used car lots in it, and it's
- 24:11Speaker 1: it's hilariously not even that movie thought to do this. Well,
- 24:17Speaker 1: I I looked. I was curious. I looked up. The
- 24:20Speaker 1: law in the state is if you do that kind
- 24:22Speaker 1: of deal, that dealership that has taken your trade and
- 24:25Speaker 1: has greed to pay off the balance has ten days
- 24:28Speaker 1: to do that. Right, So there's a there's a little
- 24:30Speaker 1: wiggle room. We're talking like so here as you as
- 24:34Speaker 1: you said, you know, you do that deal, you leave,
- 24:36Speaker 1: you think you're done with the dealership. Never mind ten days,
- 24:39Speaker 1: it's more like thirty days later when that next payment
- 24:42Speaker 1: on that car you just traded would come do And
- 24:44Speaker 1: now they're called. They have no idea you've traded it.
- 24:47Speaker 1: They think you're still you know, the note holder there
- 24:50Speaker 1: that owes them the money for it. Imagine you're surprised.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Yeah, Gord, somebody that's going to that place, they know
- 24:58Speaker 2: they could, Hey.
- 24:59Speaker 1: We could probably get a away with this for a while.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Get you into this. How's twenty three percent interest rates?
- 25:04Speaker 1: So it's great, it's a don't worry. It's a good rate.
- 25:07Speaker 1: Trust me. It's a nice car for your kid.
- 25:09Speaker 2: You know they're young, they need a beater.
- 25:12Speaker 1: We can spread these payments out over one hundred and
- 25:15Speaker 1: eight months.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Uh huh, perfect, twenty three Do you know what I
- 25:18Speaker 2: think we need to give them twenty five percent interest
- 25:21Speaker 2: to make it a you know, we'll make it four
- 25:23Speaker 2: hundred months.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Buying buying a car now is I mean, whether it's
- 25:28Speaker 1: new or using, it's easy now, Well it is. The
- 25:31Speaker 1: process is easy. The financial HiT's not easy because just
- 25:35Speaker 1: the prices of cars now, it's just bonkers. Yeah, it's
- 25:39Speaker 1: you really. I know there's people who are car people
- 25:43Speaker 1: and are into you know, always wanting to have the
- 25:45Speaker 1: latest and great, and that's fine if that's your thing, man,
- 25:48Speaker 1: But I just I don't know how some of some
- 25:50Speaker 1: of these folks do that, man, because it's like just
- 25:52Speaker 1: a constant. Okay, sixty five thousand sounds good.
- 25:57Speaker 2: I just can kill Oh how about one of the
- 26:00Speaker 2: badass ram trucks or whatever those are ever one hundred
- 26:03Speaker 2: thousand dollars.
- 26:06Speaker 1: They're beautiful man, you know, but but yeah, yeah, man,
- 26:10Speaker 1: got them and then you find out your trade hasn't
- 26:12Speaker 1: been paid off it was agreed to. Yeah, that's mm hmm.
- 26:18Speaker 2: I'm reading the uh, reading the stuff on the upside
- 26:22Speaker 2: down flaghouse to remind myself. It was US Air Force
- 26:25Speaker 2: honorably discharged Walker in sixty six, saying he was mentally
- 26:29Speaker 2: unfit and paranoid according to his story, in the sense.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Oh, I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
- 26:35Speaker 1: Then with the family members.
- 26:37Speaker 2: Oh yeah, sometimes this is just how they grew up
- 26:39Speaker 2: and they went to normal schools, like schools with us like.
- 26:42Speaker 1: Glenyard's Junior High and stuff.
- 26:44Speaker 2: But then you know they're up on the roof with
- 26:46Speaker 2: fire houses and uh fire Look. Family members would climb
- 26:51Speaker 2: onto the platform on their flagpole and announced grievance via
- 26:54Speaker 2: a loud speaker of the neighborhood hashtag America at that
- 27:00Speaker 2: it was.
- 27:01Speaker 1: Yeah, it was the crazy neighbors. If one thing, it
- 27:07Speaker 1: makes life interesting in any said neighborhood. And you know,
- 27:10Speaker 1: especially if they're a permanent fixture, you just you almost
- 27:14Speaker 1: become desensitized to them, that person in your neighborhood because
- 27:17Speaker 1: we all have one or have one.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Just me and I had a buddy who who recently,
- 27:22Speaker 2: i'll say in the last five years sold his his
- 27:26Speaker 2: mother's house, his mother past whatever.
- 27:29Speaker 1: So there's that word again, mother, I know, mother.
- 27:32Speaker 2: So he was he was extremely happy to finally because
- 27:37Speaker 2: he was a street over. But it was still he's like,
- 27:40Speaker 2: oh god, the walker's house. I had to grow up
- 27:44Speaker 2: a block from it.
- 27:45Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, Okay, we're going to wrap her up
- 27:48Speaker 1: for this episode of Off the Air. We appreciate you
- 27:51Speaker 1: finding us because we have established this isn't being promoed

- 29:14Speaker 2: know what I'm getting at.
- 29:15Speaker 1: We had more, We had more wings than we could handle.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Let yeah, leave it at that. Yes, we had wings
