- 3:27have done. They can offer you really fabulous values as they do in clipper
- 3:30craft clothes. What a well dressed man, What a handsome looking man,
- 3:37What a successful looking man. M he's for me. That's you. You,
- 3:43You and a new spring clippercraft suit. Better choose yours tomorrow, Doctor
- 3:55Watson. Last week, in relating the adventure of the Elusive Agent, you
- 3:59left off as you and mister Hawns were pursuing an espionage agent named Amiel Markoff.
- 4:04Yes, mister Hennis, shall I recall how we were led to his
- 4:08trail? Yes? It was nineteen thirteen. An atmosphere of foreboding gripped the
- 4:13cottonent War with Germany was imminent. British plans of priceless value had been stolen
- 4:17with the Germans by a young woman named Pamela Norton, a German agent.
- 4:23This Norton girl turned over half the plans that she had stolen to a chaplain
- 4:27Gustav who was who represented the leader of a huge espionage rig. Following the
- 4:32disappearance of the plans, Sir Micoff Hoose asked his brother Sherlock to step in
- 4:36in short order. Holmes and I were close to capturing the girl, but
- 4:42you may remember, mister Harris, we arrived too late. She had been
- 4:45killed by the Master Spire because she refused to turn the other half of the
- 4:48plans over to him without receiving a gigantic son. The master Spy then vanished
- 4:55without having had time to seize the missing half from the girl's dead Budet,
- 5:00you're taking the odor of a rare tobacco about the room where the girl's corpse
- 5:03was found. Holmes and I we dashed to the shop and sew her the
- 5:06shop of a chap named Grimsby. We'd half the plans, the Germans had
- 5:12the other half. Both sides were in a deadlock, for the plans were
- 5:15useless unless they were complete. Grimsby the tobaccon has described his client who used
- 5:20that tobacco, Eh, mister Amiel Marco, who said tall phil with a
- 5:27weird habit of teaching his mouth. We learned that this Amiel Marco the Master
- 5:31Spy, who was in Paris at the Hotel Metropole. Shortly thereafter, mister
- 5:38Hallis, Holmes and I were aboard the boat train for Dover. On our
- 5:42way to Paris. We set together very silent, tense, realizing that every
- 5:48moment was vital. Comes your compartment topert name. Yes, we have a
- 5:58visitor once. Look, there's a head extinguished the lights in your compartment.
- 6:01Homes, We'll do nothing of the sort. I will not enter until you
- 6:04have extinguished the lights. Do as he says, Watson, he couldn't possibly
- 6:08miss you from there, will well complete dush. I'm sorry it is necessary
- 6:18for us to meet under these strange circumstances homes, but it may in the
- 6:21future be necessary that you do not recognize me. Therefore my request for that
- 6:28short. Oh, I can see your silhouettes. If either of you attempts
- 6:30to move or cause for help, I will blow out your brains. What
- 6:34is the purpose of this visitor? You are journeying to Paris to find mister
- 6:40Amiel Marko Korovis. I can save a great deal of time and trouble for
- 6:43you, can you? Yes, I represent mister Marco. As you know,
- 6:47he already has half of a set of plans in his possession, but
- 6:51his portion is worthless because you have the other half. For indeed, and
- 6:57I do not intend to surrender it. Mister Mark was fully prepared to make
- 7:00an intriguing offer. What is it? Give me your half of the plans.
- 7:05We will pay you twenty thousand pounds rubbish, say thirty thousand polms are
- 7:11not for sale, fifty thousand. If you've finished stating the nature of your
- 7:15offer, so you may leave. I've never found myself in a situation where
- 7:19enough money would not provide a happy solution. You have a price, Holmes,
- 7:24I'm sure I most certainly have not. May well be persons of differing
- 7:28political views who would betray the British Empire. I'm not want to go comp
- 7:30camp Holmes. Very touchy. Would you name your pride? Isn't it?
- 7:35Holmes? You are forcing us to take the plans from you if you can
- 7:40find my harm, and you are forcing us to kill you. If that
- 7:43can be a ring? Might type point out that in our organization we never
- 7:46kill our opponents in an ordinary manner, that we prefer to torture them to
- 7:50death. I'd accept the money if I were you. My answer is a
- 7:57definite and final no. You might inform maybe Marco that I intend to secure
- 8:01his half of the plans and return them to Whitehall. Very ambitious, but
- 8:05you underestimate the power of Marco's organization, which will now be devoted to securing
- 8:09your half of the plans and the conceiving new and exciting torture devices for you
- 8:16and doctor Watson. My gentlemen, I planned this as a short and peasant
- 8:20visit. Trust that it was well. It was after the rascal homes,
- 8:26Suti Watson. He's armed. We're not even in these few seconds. Doubtless
- 8:30he disappears into another compartment. Besides, we've no idea what he looks like.
- 8:33Miss wake Watson. The Paris the Hotel metrople I loved, I will
- 8:46open the girl, ah, Madmoiselle. I am Sherlock Holmes, my colleague,
- 8:54doctor Watson. The clock downstairs told us this was Emil Marcos sweet it
- 9:01is may come in. Yes, of course, I am Mademoiselle Metal Pig.
- 9:07Emily is not here. Make yourselves comfortable, gentlemen, Thank you,
- 9:13nay I help you. When when mister Marco returned, Mademoiselle Emily said you
- 9:18would return tonight at nine. You are a friend of his. I presume
- 9:24I met Emily at the Bove This hotel just a short time ago that we
- 9:30are already very close friends, know much about him. I never ask questions.
- 9:35What my gentleman acquaintances do is their business? I see this Marco.
- 9:41Is he a tall, thin yes, with green eyes? Fascinating, exciting?
- 9:46Does he have a curious habit of twitching his mouth? He does?
- 9:50He's our man. Helps you? What do you want with you? I
- 9:54thought you were more interested in details about your gentleman acquaintances. Very well,
- 10:00say the girl. I do not care. Emil has an exquisite suite here.
- 10:05He has invited me to enjoy it until he's returned. Would you care
- 10:09to wait? Have a clean Perhaps we may become friends too, Thank you.
- 10:16No, we've more urgent MAXX at hand. From what's into our room,
- 10:20mademoiselle. We shall return at nine shop to meet Emil Marco. He's
- 10:33a lovely rooms. They've given us shirt to the hotel. Anyone, yes,
- 10:39But obviously then Trudea has chosen to upset the day car Jose. Someone
- 10:43has been here to our rooms, made a gostly mess of them. Look,
- 10:46they've opened every drawer on the christ yes fosd open, and the contents
- 10:50strewn on the floor, I should say, the alluring Deemoiselle was also a
- 10:54member of this fantastic ring of spies. It's closing in on us too,
- 10:58Do you really think so? Quite? The objective was to laun us to
- 11:01Marco's sweet occupiers temporarily while others went through our luggage here and our look but
- 11:05the plans? Who was they will hear your volease, then they've stolen your
- 11:07half of the press. Cisely why I'm rummaging through the luggage? Well are
- 11:11they gone? Yes? What's in the pans are gone? Well? Then
- 11:16you've bungled at hose for the first time in your entire career? Was you?
- 11:20You've bungled for such high sticks? Have I? Do you hear?
- 11:28Do you hear a strange sound? Yes? I do. Coming from that
- 11:33closet to your opening, pots and clever, see anything in there? One
- 11:37of my traveling that's all. Absolutely, bring the bag here to me quickly.
- 11:46There's stiggings coming from inside the bed man instantly, maybe a time bomb
- 11:50placed there by Marco's rein box. Yes, just one second. I just
- 11:54opened this cat the clothing to take it out. Pots and we will see.
- 11:58Yes, the shoes, yes, I see it. Hoses in a
- 12:01small black object. To me, what's an open window? Tru and man,
- 12:07hurry go on. Homes will be killed, but over the yard we
- 12:18will split second away from being blown to bits. It's quite the stairway,
- 12:22Watson, follow me, we're too downstairs. I shall speak to the clock
- 12:26at the main desk. I don't believe a word that French girl said.
- 12:30I do not believe Michael has gone until nine. I do believe that if
- 12:33we challenge this spy ring that has us trapped here in the hotel, it
- 12:37will be death immediately, either for them or for us. That's just the
- 12:41way I wanted. Mister Harris, tell me again about that handsome looking man.
- 12:54He's from me. The best dressed man in any crowd is the man
- 12:58who wears clipper crack clothes. For spring. You all wool worsted Clippercraft suits
- 13:03only forty five dollars, Clippercraft top coats in all wool gathererdine or covert only

- 13:20Clippers ships and the speedy airliners of the same name sold by more than twelve
- 13:24hundred independent local merchants from coast to coast, the leading hometown merchants everywhere.
- 13:31That's why the ladies say when they see you in your new clipper crafts spring,
- 13:33sue, who's that handsome, successful looking men? Who is for me?
- 13:41And that's why men who know insist on Clippercraft clothes bearing the Clippercraft label.
- 13:46So be sure to visit the clipper Craft store in your city. These
- 13:50leading stores in the metropolitan area are proud to add their names to Clippercraft in

- 14:07in Jamaica the B and D Clothes Shop one six four o eight Jamaica Avenue
- 14:16for doctor Watson. I can't recall you in mister Holmes, being in a
- 14:20more baffling and dangerous situation than at the Hotel Metropolitan Paris a few steps behind
- 14:24Amiel Marco, the elusive enemy h it was extremely dangerous, mister Harris Marco's
- 14:31Germans firing, which seemed to be everywhere we turned, had found Holmes's half
- 14:35of the infinitely valuable British war plans and adventised with Holmes and I hurried to
- 14:41the front desk of the hotel to question the clock. I understand class at
- 14:46mister Emil Marco will return here at ninth this evening, Monsieur Malcol. Yes
- 14:50did you go to his sweet earlier this evening? Monsieur Yes, yes,
- 14:54yes I did. It was a young lady there. I am saday that
- 14:58you went directed to Monsieur Malco's week. If you had stuck to inquire here,
- 15:01I might have saved time. Will you you see Monsieur Marco left this
- 15:05afternoon permanently well, and the young lady in his sweet Matiel Giaget, the
- 15:11mate Boiselle, left just a few moments ago. The universe is gone.
- 15:15I beediately said something about the train de Belin. She was in great hurry
- 15:18to be Daniel Marcode. What time does the train depart for Berlin? It
- 15:22departs in approximately four minutes, as not enough time was to reach the station.
- 15:26Perhaps not Watson, but has nothing to prevent our boarding the train after
- 15:28it and rushing to Berlin. It did trained after they depart in two hour.
- 15:33Monsieur, we should be aboard that train, Watson, makes you part
- 15:35a thought disabian? Whose are you? Man the very center of the German
- 15:41government? If we've almost been murdered outside of Germany? What on earth might
- 15:45happen to us? Will we found in Berlin? Our personal city does not
- 15:48matter in this case, Watson, we are on a country espionage assignment for
- 15:52the British governor. By all the rules of international intelligence, you and I
- 15:56are expendable. My brother Microft made it clear the possession of the pens may
- 16:00mean triumph or defeat in a war with Germany. So you and I,
- 16:03my dear Watson, are petty and marionettes. Put on lugag and writer Berlin,
- 16:15those awful it curd of this Berlin Stationton, Yes, Watson, an
- 16:19I dare say this crowd is neatly spiced with Marco's men awaiting an opportunity to
- 16:23strike them. Very cool heart at homes to have entered the trappers. Well,
- 16:27how the Dickens will you ever find that French girl or Marcus elementary,
- 16:32my dear Watson elementary. But in all a berlion were the supert agents at
- 16:37every turn scheming about our do I insist as all ways, I have a
- 16:41method laid this newspapers by on newspapers first pub Watson will be to leet the
- 16:45station alive scribe. Everyone on this crown may be an agent with a knife
- 16:49or a gun. Quite keeper writes over newspaper, gentleman, nocker or the
- 16:53news gentleman just a finish or ethan You will told you we don't want a
- 16:56newspapern We offer you this way, Watson as the exit cuge news vendor back,
- 17:02we will shove the newspaper down art products. Yeah, I said,
- 17:06it's very dark outside the station. He'll hurts, is it advisable for us
- 17:10to step out this way? We cannot remain here at the railway terminal.
- 17:14You must find our Coquette and Marco right in as they exited one moment,
- 17:18hurts, what is it but newsmender. He seems to be following us,
- 17:23just your imagination. No, I don't think, sir. He was at
- 17:26the center of the station and we stepped off the trail. He's been right
- 17:30behind us in the since. All right, walk through the exit. That's
- 17:33it. Watching you still behind us, lock into the doorway. It's as
- 17:38black as pitch. We lose this right now. Wait he comes to the
- 17:44exit. Will we help us hers? I'm sure he has a judge.
- 17:48Wait there is who's looking about? I see you two gentlemen in the doorway.
- 17:56We're gonna remain there, please and not move. Gonna speak of a
- 18:00gun and coming over to chat with you. Good evenings the horns, doctor
- 18:11Watson. If you and tend to kill us, gown shoot be over with
- 18:15it as you'd like to introduce myself. My name is Colin Bridgie. Intelligence
- 18:19British shouldn't tellig. Then you receive my wire. We did will while the
- 18:23moment I knew the French girl a let for Berlin Watson, while you were
- 18:26packing our luggage, I sent a wire here to British Intelligence in code.
- 18:30My craft had given me the information as to the technique if required. My
- 18:33wire described matild in detail. I told British Intelligence to pick her up here
- 18:38at the station and keep after her. Then to communicate with us at the
- 18:41moment we left the trail, we've spotted her leaving the trail we followed.
- 18:44Excellent. I'm sorry if I gave you a bit of a scare following you
- 18:48this way. I had no choice in the matter. I had to force
- 18:51you to stand here. Might have believed I was a German agent and fled.
- 18:53Where is Matilde? She's gone to a building on the outskirts of Berlin,
- 18:56O ramshak will building, awful place twenty seven lud Digstas. Thank you
- 19:00Collins, you've done a superb job. Are you going to twenty seven?
- 19:04Lude? Distlas alw The home's for a minute, just you and doctor Watson,
- 19:10just the two of us. The third party might alarm the Germans so
- 19:12much that they'd simply fired at us as we approached the building. It must
- 19:15be more beguiling, mister Pears. THEO Watson and I are nearly dupes falling
- 19:21into their ham homes. How can the two of us possibly hope to overcome
- 19:23whatever crew of blasted devils as at twenty seven little extras see rash mister home.
- 19:29Nevertheless, it must be done. Watson and I must enter that building.
- 19:30If we're to find Marco and the plans, we must enter it alone.
- 19:33Alive and well, although we may not leave that way, he dos
- 19:47holl twenty seven ludwickxtras un glue building front door. Watson can be month the
- 19:56stairs and ring suicidalites. Not if it's our own new chancel. Come along
- 20:02then, Monsieur Homes Doctor Watson. I am so happy to see you again,
- 20:15mademoiselle. Maybe come in, certainly I will delighted. Won't you make
- 20:19yourselves comfortable? Thank you, you've been expecting us. Of course we were
- 20:26sorry that time Bern did not kill you. If they will tell me pocol
- 20:29we realized you would continue your efforts to find any Marco and the fans arena
- 20:33took from your lucky purse. Marco, I am afraid you will not be
- 20:37meeting doctor Watson. And why won't we meet this Marco? Oh? Because
- 20:41we are going to kill you, Monsieur homes Oh. Oh, I am
- 20:45thinking I've forgot If you think we're going to remain secret here doing nothing,
- 20:49just accepting misn't anything you can do about it, doctor wise Ah, I
- 20:55recognize the voice our visitor in the train compartment. Yes, and introduce myself
- 21:00now, and he is Busta like Matilda. I'm an employee. Of em
- 21:04Mako is personal represented here and I still had that same gun. You see,
- 21:11you've played another deplorable trick on us, mister Holmes. Have I Gustan,
- 21:15we wanted your half of the plans. You'll let them in your luggage.
- 21:18We examine them carefully. Yes they are false. They're not really your
- 21:22half of the plans abroad out it an excellent comforfit. But with its weak
- 21:27that's wonderful homes. Then they haven't the real half they wanted it. I
- 21:30hardly been stupid enough to have gallivanted about the continent carrying the real half.
- 21:34I resent that, Gustav, you've underestimated me. I beg your part.
- 21:41Now. As for the business at hand, I'd like you to meet a
- 21:44friendly parts. Yeah, there's this mister Holmes and doctor Watts. I see,
- 21:57I will take care of them. Boy Peter was arrestler. Unfortunately he
- 22:03was dropped. His tactics were illegal. It's too cruel. You may leave,
- 22:08yes, sad, good night with your Holmes. Doctor Peter has made
- 22:15quite a study of the human body, Holmes. He's a specialist in various
- 22:18methods of creating unbearable pain. Ah, I have my own way palms.
- 22:26You want to know exactly where the real half of the plans is your half.
- 22:30I hadn't the slightest intention of revealing that U stab doctor Watson called Holmes
- 22:33have told you a way he has hidden those papers. He did not.
- 22:37If he did, I would defy you to learn the where about. I
- 22:40was afraid this would be your answer. You're a reckless gentleman, Holmes.
- 22:45You forced me to take all sorts of steps that I am most reluctant to
- 22:48take. I am a mild man at soul. I believe the problems of
- 22:52man versus man can be settled on a cordial level. I dislike animal tactics,
- 22:56but since you insist, a yeah, gusta ready, I will make
- 23:03them talk very quickly. By taking hold of they are you may recall homes
- 23:11on the train compartment. I said, we never kill our opponents, and
- 23:14important man, we torture them today. I want to know where the papers
- 23:18are homes. But perhaps it will require just a bit of persuasion later.
- 23:26Ah loo, I take is horns. Ah ah, that's it. Go
- 23:37on persuade them, doctor Watson, Are you going to stop here at this
- 23:51crucial point? Well, time will allow no more for this evening, mister
- 23:53Harris. However, next week I shall tell you the utterly astonishing in of
- 23:59our Sure they elucidated the most surprising development in all of Pomes's adventures. The
- 24:04final chapter concerned a horrible illusion, a bloody battle in an abandoned castle,
- 24:11and a revelation about the missing plans that altered the entire course for the First
- 24:17World War. The makers of clipper Craft clothes and more than twelve hundred stories
- 24:27from coast to coast have brought you another in the new series of broadcasts featuring
- 24:32the world's most playmoss detective Sherlock Holes. Our stories are based upon the character
- 24:40Sherlock Holmes, created by Sir Arthur Cotton Doyle, and the program is produced
- 24:44and directed by Basil Luckern. Sherlock Holmes is played by John Stanley, Doctor
- 24:48Watson by George Speltan. This week's story was written by Howard Merrill, with
- 24:52special music by Albert Berman. If you don't know your clippercraft dealer, write
- 24:57clipper Crack two hundred if New York City, be sure to listen next week
- 25:03to Sherlock Holmes in the final chapter of the adventure of the elusive at Jasia
- 25:15Harris, speaking for pipper Craft Bows, was of the Mutual Broadcasting System welcome
- 25:21back. Well, this is definitely beginning to have a whole James Bond vibe
- 25:29going for it. You know, I almost expected the villains, you know,
- 25:33at some point to say, no, mister Holmes, I don't expect
- 25:37you to talk. I expect you to die. Though we kind of got
- 25:42the opposite here. I love the cheerful female Hinchman. You know, she's
- 25:51just so chipper and upbeat and happy, like you know, she like she's
- 25:56talking about an evening of shuffleboard and dinner theater rather than about the coming demise
- 26:07of Holmes and Watson. I like this serial. I even like the ads
- 26:11on this one, you know, in the sense of that whole it's so
- 26:18bad, it's a good thing. You know. Sometimes some of the ads
- 26:22have just been like, oh, that's just you know, over the line
- 26:26or silly. This one really gets into that category with the whole that's for
- 26:32me mine And they definitely had a good cliffhanger. So this will be a
- 26:37lot of fun to see how this wraps up next Thursday. Now, we
- 26:41turned to lessener comments and feedback and Bob comments regarding episode eight to four,
- 26:45that's the blue carbuncle more entertaining than the video productions. Thanks well, thanks,
- 26:52I'm glad you enjoyed it, Bob, and that will actually do it
- 26:56for today. We will be back next Thursday with the conclusion of the Elusive
- 27:03Agent. And join us tomorrow for yours truly Johnny doller In on Saturday.
