- 2:02Speaker 2: Yeah, now that you guys bring it up that way,
- 2:04Speaker 2: it's not that interesting, No, it isn't. However, today we
- 2:08Speaker 2: have the best of Ginga Bell Ginge Bell.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Just so you know. No, I don't want to go
- 2:12Speaker 1: back and redo it, but I said.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Ginge Bell is a country disc jockey who is reflective
- 2:18Speaker 2: of a phenomenon that I noticed when I was in radio,
- 2:21Speaker 2: and it's kind of a one that I was jealous of.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Country artists and country disc jockeys get along pretty good.
- 2:28Speaker 2: I mean these cats, actually some of them actually hang
- 2:30Speaker 2: out together. Some of the country disc jockeys go into management,
- 2:34Speaker 2: they manage some of these artists that they find, and
- 2:36Speaker 2: they have a kind of a good working relationship. I
- 2:38Speaker 2: was in rock radio just about my entire life, and
- 2:40Speaker 2: that was never the case with uh, with rock artists,
- 2:45Speaker 2: rock and roll artists. I'm not complaining about that. But
- 2:48Speaker 2: while I love their music, a lot of them were
- 2:50Speaker 2: major assholes. Yeah, that's a way to talk about it.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Nice Cohen, Phil, What do white care? Anyway?
- 2:57Speaker 2: Today we have the best of Jinga Bell, Ginga Bell,
- 3:00Speaker 2: who's had his ass kicked by some of the great
- 3:02Speaker 2: names in country music.
- 3:03Speaker 1: The following is a collection of Phil Henry Show encore
- 3:07Speaker 1: presentations by those.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Hey Gingebell here, you know, I've had my ass kicked
- 3:11Speaker 2: by some of the great names in country music. I
- 3:13Speaker 2: have had my ass kicked, I've had my head stoved in,
- 3:16Speaker 2: I've had my eyeballs punched black, I've had my nose
- 3:18Speaker 2: broken six seven times. But you know what that is
- 3:22Speaker 2: the price of doing business. The country artists love and
- 3:24Speaker 2: respect me. You know. I just have to get by
- 3:26Speaker 2: their their bouncers and their security, and I hand them
- 3:29Speaker 2: some of the great management deals of all time. As
- 3:31Speaker 2: Ginge Bell gets beat up, repeatedly, beat up, almost to
- 3:35Speaker 2: the point of being crippled. Weekly on country music usay
- 3:40Speaker 2: is Willie Hickson. Willi Hickson's Blues Parlor is opened twenty
- 3:43Speaker 2: four hours a day, seven days a week. I don't
- 3:46Speaker 2: even mess around, i'd because I like my music. I
- 3:48Speaker 2: know you like your music, and yeah, having a blues
- 3:50Speaker 2: let me tell you some I'm having a blues bar
- 3:52Speaker 2: and a city like Nashel, everybody want to hear country music.
- 3:54Speaker 2: I'm going to keep this thing open twenty four seven,
- 3:56Speaker 2: seven days a week to say I am blues, blues, blues, blues, No, no, no,
- 4:01Speaker 2: I won't.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Play no country music.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Come on into Willie Hickson Blues Bar twenty four hours
- 4:05Speaker 2: a day, seven days a week, Listen to blues, see
- 4:08Speaker 2: eat some good food. I don't know what kind of
- 4:09Speaker 2: fits jelly hamburgers. We actually have beef borgan. You know,
- 4:12Speaker 2: there's no such thing.
- 4:12Speaker 1: As blues food. Okay, we'll just.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Get that out of your mind, all right. We serve
- 4:16Speaker 2: up regular food, good food. We got pot roast. You know,
- 4:19Speaker 2: we were all kind of I think I think we
- 4:21Speaker 2: even have kish but Willie Hickson's Blues Parlor, Real Blues,
- 4:27Speaker 2: Willie Hickson's Bruze Parlor, fifty Main in downtown Dufuffity. We're
- 4:33Speaker 2: in the Fuffity. That's about five miles outside of Coopton,
- 4:36Speaker 2: which is in Central City Nashville.
- 4:45Speaker 1: I mean, whatdy ginger Bell here.
- 4:46Speaker 2: I get my ass kicked by the great names in
- 4:48Speaker 2: country music every single week right here on Country Music USA.
- 4:51Speaker 1: You know, Hank Williams is no longer.
- 4:53Speaker 2: With us, as I was mentioning that long. And Hank Williams,
- 4:55Speaker 2: of course was on our great stars. But when he
- 4:57Speaker 2: was making music, I was barely born, and when I
- 4:59Speaker 2: finally was born, I was I've.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Listened to Disney Records.
- 5:01Speaker 2: If I'd had to actually listen to this kind of
- 5:03Speaker 2: music as a little tiny kid, I probably wouldn't have
- 5:05Speaker 2: stopped projectile vomiting week after week. But overtheless, this is music,
- 5:09Speaker 2: country music. It's very Important's Hank Williams and it's important,
- 5:12Speaker 2: and it's Tank Williams.
- 5:13Speaker 1: That's about all I know about that. But I can
- 5:14Speaker 1: tell you this much.
- 5:15Speaker 2: I do know this, ladies and gentlemen. I do know
- 5:16Speaker 2: that Hank Williams drank himself to death. And the other
- 5:20Speaker 2: day I was am seeing a charity event for a
- 5:21Speaker 2: drunk driving sponsored by Hank Williams Foundation, and so I
- 5:24Speaker 2: was up there.
- 5:25Speaker 1: I'm trying to loosen people. One of the things I
- 5:26Speaker 1: like to do is gen Ja.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Belle when I'm doing am seeing events or in my
- 5:29Speaker 2: management carreras of this jockey'd like a loosen people up.
- 5:31Speaker 2: I like to get people just kind of yeah, you know,
- 5:34Speaker 2: loosen it up. Man, don't tell you everything so serious.
- 5:35Speaker 2: So I started making you know, I started making jokes
- 5:37Speaker 2: about drunk driving, talking about being thrown through a windshield
- 5:40Speaker 2: and things like that.
- 5:41Speaker 1: I know it sounds gruesome.
- 5:42Speaker 2: I know it sounds bad, but hey, you know what,
- 5:43Speaker 2: when you learn to loosen up, when you learn to
- 5:45Speaker 2: say just hey, you know what, the guy's are drunk,
- 5:47Speaker 2: he drives drunk, he drives over top of old people.
- 5:50Speaker 1: At bus stops. Big deal.
- 5:52Speaker 2: That's when we can begin to talk to each other.
- 5:54Speaker 2: That's what we bridge the gaps between each other. Well,
- 5:57Speaker 2: so I'm making all these jokes about drunk driving at
- 5:59Speaker 2: this event, and the PA there, I guess, for whatever reason.
- 6:02Speaker 1: They didn't like it. And they don't have a sense
- 6:04Speaker 1: of humor.
- 6:04Speaker 2: And one of the things about country music fans especially
- 6:06Speaker 2: and the artists, no sense of humor at all. So
- 6:08Speaker 2: they rolled me up in a large rug, just like
- 6:10Speaker 2: that management team there, I think Patsy Klimb.
- 6:13Speaker 1: I mean, they rolled me up.
- 6:14Speaker 2: In this rug and they beat me with chairs and tables,
- 6:18Speaker 2: lead pipes, baseball bats, sledgehammers. The reason why I know
- 6:20Speaker 2: is because I would peek out from under the rug
- 6:21Speaker 2: and take a look and say, what are they hitting.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Me with now? And I kept the metal notes, I
- 6:25Speaker 1: kept the middle note.
- 6:25Speaker 2: I was being hit with lead pipes. I wasn't sure
- 6:27Speaker 2: it was lead. I actually asked somebody, I said, is.
- 6:29Speaker 1: That a lead pipe? And they went, wouldn't you like
- 6:30Speaker 1: to know? Bang?
- 6:31Speaker 2: Hit me again, sledgehammer's standing lamps on a snowshovel. Well,
- 6:36Speaker 2: with all of my teeth shattered and my jaw unhinged.
- 6:38Speaker 2: I tried to explain myself, but I came off talking
- 6:41Speaker 2: more like a zombie or a ghoul, because you know,
- 6:44Speaker 2: I'd had my face kicked in, and this is what
- 6:45Speaker 2: I saided, like a fog ye, I'll plog ye.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Well. The people screamed, they were fighting, They didn't know
- 6:52Speaker 1: what to do.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Some of them doused me with whiskey, another hard liquor
- 6:55Speaker 2: from the cash bar, you know, and I probably made
- 6:57Speaker 2: a bunch of jokes about.
- 6:58Speaker 1: The cash board. How stupid these people are.
- 7:00Speaker 2: I mean, you know, go to a host bar, man,
- 7:02Speaker 2: go to a host bar, you get it for free,
- 7:04Speaker 2: and you can still get your drunk driving rap going.
- 7:06Speaker 1: That's when they lit me on fire.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Scott Well, I staggered to the ballroom on fire, boning
- 7:11Speaker 2: and scaring everyone. You've seen it happen in all CODs
- 7:14Speaker 2: of movies, all kinds of horror movies, and guy just
- 7:15Speaker 2: going ah, and I was a flaming guy. I staggered
- 7:19Speaker 2: through the ballroom, smashed through, yes you're right, some glass
- 7:23Speaker 2: sliding glass doors, and then a priest using a cross
- 7:26Speaker 2: tried to turn me like a vampire. Cops and fire
- 7:29Speaker 2: departments showed up and I fell in a hail of
- 7:31Speaker 2: rubber bullets. I'm Jean Jabell, but nobody has kicked my
- 7:35Speaker 2: ass quite as thoroughly. No one has kicked my ass
- 7:37Speaker 2: in a manner that is so humiliating to me. No
- 7:39Speaker 2: one has kicked my ass to the point where, you
- 7:42Speaker 2: know what, I know, I want to come back and
- 7:43Speaker 2: get my ass kicked again because I think I might
- 7:45Speaker 2: just like it.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Then, Kenny Rodgers, it's the dark, that's right.
- 7:49Speaker 2: I'm gen Jebel and oh, I stuttered over the name.
- 7:51Speaker 2: You heard me kind of hesitate, he Ben Rogers. He
- 7:54Speaker 2: because remembering the beating I took at the hands of
- 7:57Speaker 2: Kenny Rodgers, reading, Oh man, what the carcares the hell
- 8:02Speaker 2: out of you? Well, it turns out I appeared to
- 8:06Speaker 2: the Horseshoe Casino in Robinson, Mississippi.
- 8:07Speaker 1: One day. There was Kenny.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Rodgers, Kenny Rodgers look alike, singing a duet with a
- 8:11Speaker 2: lookalike Dolly Parton. That's right, who, of course had these big, huge,
- 8:15Speaker 2: and I mean gigantic fake boobs.
- 8:17Speaker 4: Wow.
- 8:18Speaker 1: So I remarked on how I'd like to have those
- 8:19Speaker 1: boobs in my mouth, just something to kind of break
- 8:21Speaker 1: the ice.
- 8:22Speaker 2: The fake Kenny Rodgers grabbed me by my ear nearly
- 8:24Speaker 2: wrenching it free of my skull, dragged me across the
- 8:26Speaker 2: casino floor, across multible craps and roulette tables. I got
- 8:29Speaker 2: then this is Kenny Rodger. There's fake Kenny Rodgers. By
- 8:31Speaker 2: the way, imagine a fake Kenny Rodgers treating me. Not
- 8:33Speaker 2: even the real Kenny Rodgers did. This was a fake
- 8:35Speaker 2: Kenny Rodgers. I'll get to the story about the real
- 8:37Speaker 2: Kenny Rodgers kicking.
- 8:38Speaker 1: My ass just a second. The fake Kenny Rodgers threw
- 8:40Speaker 1: me into.
- 8:40Speaker 2: An ATM machine head first, and then he dumped a
- 8:43Speaker 2: video slot machine onto my head, my bloodied head. Various
- 8:46Speaker 2: casino customers took turns kicking me while I was on
- 8:49Speaker 2: the floor, and some old lady poured whiskey sour.
- 8:51Speaker 1: On me and then kicked me in the nutsack. When
- 8:53Speaker 1: you how about that?
- 8:54Speaker 2: And along comes that Dolly Parton with the big fake boobs,
- 8:56Speaker 2: and I still said to her, good, I'll call boob,
- 8:59Speaker 2: but the ball.
- 9:00Speaker 1: That's the way I sat it. Well. The last person
- 9:02Speaker 1: to stand over me is I looked up.
- 9:03Speaker 2: I opened my eyes about six hours later, and I
- 9:06Speaker 2: was laying there in a pool of spit and blood
- 9:08Speaker 2: and whiskey.
- 9:09Speaker 1: And it was the actual Kenny Rodgers. He said, are
- 9:11Speaker 1: you all right?
- 9:12Speaker 2: I said, mister Rogers, I wanted to come here to
- 9:14Speaker 2: tell you I like your song The Gambler.
- 9:17Speaker 1: He said, you mean the Gambler. I said, oh, oh,
- 9:20Speaker 1: and that's what I felt.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Yet another man ATM machine drop on my head. See
- 9:27Speaker 2: and with Kenny Rogers drops an ATM machine on the
- 9:30Speaker 2: factory Gabelle crush tat cigarette. Yeah, Willie Hickson's Gut Bucket Festival.
- 9:37Speaker 2: This is an announcement that Gene Gabelle has been uninvited
- 9:40Speaker 2: as the MC because insurance will not cover the event
- 9:43Speaker 2: if Jean Jabell is seen anywhere near the place. All right,
- 9:46Speaker 2: we will have the Sweet Willy Hickson Gut Bucket Festival.
- 9:48Speaker 2: But I do not want, I do not care to have,
- 9:51Speaker 2: I do not wish to have. I do not want
- 9:53Speaker 2: and will not want and will not want to have
- 9:55Speaker 2: Ginge Bell anywhere near me, my festival, members of my family,
- 9:59Speaker 2: even in my date, which is Tennessee, sometimes Arizona and
- 10:03Speaker 2: most of the time California. The Sweet Willie Hickson Gut
- 10:05Speaker 2: Bucket Festival not featuring Jean Jabell.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Well, here's a song.
- 10:09Speaker 2: I thought for sure I was really gonna be I
- 10:11Speaker 2: thought I was really picking it right here. He says
- 10:13Speaker 2: to me, I got a song, mister Jabell, I hope
- 10:15Speaker 2: you managed me.
- 10:15Speaker 1: I said, what it's called? I said, Okie from Muskoge?
- 10:17Speaker 1: I said, are you kidding me? Sco Are you kidding me?
- 10:21Speaker 2: He said, well, well, come on, it's about being here
- 10:24Speaker 2: about you nuts. So I said, I'm not going to
- 10:26Speaker 2: take some hay seed act like you. Man, get out
- 10:29Speaker 2: of here. Three weeks later, it was a smash hit
- 10:32Speaker 2: all over the world. I called him up and I said, hey,
- 10:34Speaker 2: maryl remember that song Oki from Muscoge. He said, yeah,
- 10:36Speaker 2: you didn't want to manage me because you thought the
- 10:38Speaker 2: thing was just you thought the thing.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Was strictly from Hungary.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Said, well, yes, I did, but I also understand the
- 10:43Speaker 2: appeal that it can have for the hay seed and
- 10:45Speaker 2: the hillbilly and the real you know, the real backward
- 10:48Speaker 2: clowns like you. He said, oh really. I said, yeah,
- 10:50Speaker 2: So why didn't you sign a management deal with me?
- 10:52Speaker 2: And let's hit it big baby.
- 10:53Speaker 1: You know, we'll we'll touch this guy, we'll reach for
- 10:56Speaker 1: the stars. He said, that just gave.
- 10:58Speaker 2: Me an idea he went into the other room and
- 10:59Speaker 2: came out up with one of those skyrockets for the
- 11:01Speaker 2: fourth of July, watered it right up my ass and
- 11:03Speaker 2: lid it is that San Francisco dude, And this.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Is what I sounded like.
- 11:09Speaker 2: And I'm proud me from that bad Jean Jebel, I
- 11:17Speaker 2: swear event squares.
- 11:21Speaker 1: I'll tell you no right now. We played some of
- 11:22Speaker 1: the great country hits of all time.
- 11:24Speaker 2: But what would we be if we didn't have this
- 11:26Speaker 2: lovely little lady here, Donna Fargo, the happiest girl in
- 11:28Speaker 2: the USA. Doesn't this sound like a bunch of simple
- 11:31Speaker 2: minded garbage?
- 11:32Speaker 1: And that's exactly what I thought.
- 11:33Speaker 2: It was a bunch of simpled and simple minded trash.
- 11:36Speaker 2: And her husband came out of her boyfriend some guy
- 11:38Speaker 2: was there. He said, hey, Jane Bell, would you mind
- 11:39Speaker 2: managing Dona Fargo? He's got a great hit record. I said,
- 11:42Speaker 2: what's it called? He said, happiest girl in the USA?
- 11:44Speaker 2: I said, I would Are you kidding me with that?
- 11:46Speaker 2: I said, are you kidding me with that? I asked
- 11:48Speaker 2: it three times? Are you kidding me with that? And
- 11:50Speaker 2: he stared at me and I said, get out of
- 11:51Speaker 2: my office and never darkened my toilet paper again left me.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Five months later, the songs a hit. I went over
- 11:57Speaker 2: to her house. She wasn't normal. In her office, she wasn't.
- 12:00Speaker 2: They said she was on vacation in Switzerland. So I
- 12:01Speaker 2: booked a jet. I flew all the way to Switzerland.
- 12:03Speaker 2: I found her in a villa over there, some sort
- 12:05Speaker 2: of a lakeside retreat. I said, Hi, Donna, it's change
- 12:08Speaker 2: a bell.
- 12:08Speaker 1: And I was the one that.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Said happiest girl in the whole USA was something that
- 12:11Speaker 2: would drop out of a cow's ass.
- 12:13Speaker 1: She said, that's right, I do remember you.
- 12:15Speaker 2: That's when she snapped her fingers and two guys came
- 12:17Speaker 2: in wearing SS uniforms.
- 12:19Speaker 1: That's right, Nazi uniforms.
- 12:20Speaker 2: They had the lightning bolt collars, they had the swastikas.
- 12:23Speaker 1: On the armbands.
- 12:24Speaker 2: And they lifted me up and carried me outside, and
- 12:26Speaker 2: then they dropped me off the edge of a cliff.
- 12:28Speaker 2: I bounded down about three four hundred feet, and I
- 12:30Speaker 2: rolled out into a.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Highway where there were troop transports.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Some of the most armored personnel carriers with those heavy
- 12:35Speaker 2: tracks rolled right over top of my ass.
- 12:39Speaker 5: Skip pretty thank you, oh thank you, Oh soup minded shit.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Thank you Jane a bell pain in the ass, Jane
- 12:52Speaker 2: of Bells in Barol Country, USA. All listened to the
- 12:57Speaker 2: children while they play Yeah yeah, yeah yeah, I ain't
- 13:02Speaker 2: kind of funny?
- 13:03Speaker 1: What the children? And see Skipper.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Borough, he's a cargill there, Skipper up, y'all. It's a
- 13:08Speaker 2: song about divorce.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Daddy hates mommy, Mommy hates dad. I guess who's gonna
- 13:13Speaker 1: win that fight? Dad would be. I should have heard
- 13:16Speaker 1: the fight they had. I bet they did. Mat gay
- 13:20Speaker 1: little sister, another bad dream.
- 13:22Speaker 2: I'll tell you what if you know a country song
- 13:24Speaker 2: about divorce. The best divorced song I heard was tell
- 13:26Speaker 2: me why not?
- 13:26Speaker 1: D I v old art? Well, I can't spell Skipper Row,
- 13:33Speaker 1: you know divorce is terrible.
- 13:34Speaker 2: He's gentlemen, all this to the children while it sings.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Ever it plays, it is hey doing, buddy.
- 13:43Speaker 2: See. I wish you'd got a hole under your nose
- 13:46Speaker 2: so I can hear the music that you're playing, because
- 13:48Speaker 2: I'm I'm getting very angry.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Thanks so much for colleags. Is dog you food?
- 13:57Speaker 2: You know?
- 13:57Speaker 1: What's that to say about the Golden room? Skip a rope? Yeah?
- 14:02Speaker 2: I tell you something. I was entertaining our great veterans.
- 14:05Speaker 2: And you know, there's nobody in this country that has love,
- 14:07Speaker 2: is more loving and more appreciative of our veterans than
- 14:11Speaker 2: Jean Javell here in country USA. And we go out
- 14:14Speaker 2: once a year to our big veterans picnic and Henson
- 14:16Speaker 2: Cargill of course, had come out the year before, and
- 14:19Speaker 2: I remember that song Skip a Rope. I was out
- 14:21Speaker 2: there and I saw a couple of our vets who were,
- 14:23Speaker 2: you know, missing their legs, and I said, hey, you
- 14:25Speaker 2: heard that song by Henson Cargill Skip a Rope?
- 14:28Speaker 3: Right?
- 14:28Speaker 2: So I said, I thought it'd be funny if we
- 14:30Speaker 2: had a rope skipping contest with some of the vets
- 14:32Speaker 2: that don't have legs. I didn't mean any offense by that.
- 14:35Speaker 2: I certainly didn't mean to insult them, or to embarrass
- 14:38Speaker 2: them or anything. But one of the veterans that was
- 14:40Speaker 2: there helping out came over and said, you know, did
- 14:43Speaker 2: you really just asked those guys to skip rope and
- 14:46Speaker 2: they only have you know, no leg and maybe one
- 14:48Speaker 2: guy got a leg in one arm and everything. I said, yeah,
- 14:50Speaker 2: I did. I said you got a problem with that?
- 14:54Speaker 2: I said, I'm sure these men have a good sense
- 14:56Speaker 2: of humor, and I'm sure, well, while I'm trying to
- 14:58Speaker 2: explain it and make sense to this guy, he was
- 15:01Speaker 2: wiggling his finger like once, you come on over here
- 15:03Speaker 2: for a second.
- 15:03Speaker 1: And I walked over.
- 15:04Speaker 2: He had the trunk of his car open, and there
- 15:07Speaker 2: was rope and there was a bag in there, and
- 15:09Speaker 2: I think I saw a saw, and I felt a
- 15:12Speaker 2: baseball bat hit me in the back of my head,
- 15:13Speaker 2: and I was out. Everything blacked out, and I woke
- 15:15Speaker 2: up and I was inside a bag and tied at
- 15:18Speaker 2: both ends with this rope, and the car stopped and
- 15:22Speaker 2: they opened it. I felt myself getting rolled out of
- 15:24Speaker 2: the back of his trunk. I was still inside the bag,
- 15:26Speaker 2: and I felt baseball bats hitting me all it must
- 15:28Speaker 2: have been one hundred, two hundred.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Hits, this baseball bat. And I died.
- 15:31Speaker 2: I was dead, and then they cut me up and
- 15:33Speaker 2: they threw me into a river. And that's why he
- 15:35Speaker 2: listened to this program here, this is the Jim Jim
- 15:37Speaker 2: Jabell Show here in Country USA. You're listening to this
- 15:40Speaker 2: program mostly in a dream. You're in a sleeping state.
- 15:42Speaker 2: You're in some kind of a state where this isn't reality.
- 15:45Speaker 2: I'm dead I'm dead. You understand I'm dead. If I'm
- 15:48Speaker 2: not dead, I ought to be half the things that
- 15:51Speaker 2: have happened to me.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Blake Shelton I could have.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Managed had I been a little bit kinder, had I
- 15:54Speaker 2: been a little bit had I been conscious, I could
- 15:57Speaker 2: have managed him. But I fell asleep. And the reason
- 15:59Speaker 2: why I sleep with Blake with skin concert, he said,
- 16:02Speaker 2: would you please come out and watch me, mister Jabel,
- 16:04Speaker 2: I said, sure. Well, I got so blind, stink and
- 16:06Speaker 2: drunk that I passed out in the middle of the
- 16:07Speaker 2: first song, and I was laying on the floor underneath
- 16:11Speaker 2: the table in the bar that I was watching Blake Sheldon,
- 16:13Speaker 2: but while he was signing with another manager, I was
- 16:15Speaker 2: laying on the floor throwing up. And finally my girlfriend
- 16:18Speaker 2: picked me up, dragged me up my cross and Rea
- 16:19Speaker 2: and I went to sleep in the front seat. When
- 16:21Speaker 2: I woke up, I was at an empty parking lot.
- 16:23Speaker 2: The bar was closed, it was five am. Nobody was there.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Blake wasn't there. I said, where's Blake, where's Blake. I've
- 16:27Speaker 2: got to know, I must know. There was nobody there
- 16:30Speaker 2: to tell me Bill. I did see a guy sweeping
- 16:32Speaker 2: up out back. I said, you know who Blake Shelton is.
- 16:34Speaker 2: He said, yes, say do. I said, you're gonna tell
- 16:35Speaker 2: me where he is, aren't you. He said, I don't know,
- 16:37Speaker 2: but I'll make a place up. I said fine. So
- 16:39Speaker 2: he made up a place. I went there. It turned
- 16:40Speaker 2: out to be the clubhouse of a notorious outlaw motorcycle gang.
- 16:43Speaker 2: I got my ass kicked. I was hung by one
- 16:45Speaker 2: arm from the ceiling, and I was left there to
- 16:47Speaker 2: just kind of twist in the wind.
- 16:48Speaker 1: And I never did meet Blake Shelton. I got my
- 16:50Speaker 1: ass kicked. Buy a motorcycle club. Jean Jabell gets his
- 16:55Speaker 1: ass kicked by one percent.
- 16:59Speaker 2: That's Country USA, the great great country artists of all time.
- 17:03Speaker 2: Kick my ass, Throw me out of the backs of cars,
- 17:06Speaker 2: throw my head into a into a brick wall, kick
- 17:09Speaker 2: me downstairs. I'll tell you it's a great, great life.
- 17:12Speaker 2: It's a great great music. Country. Roscoe's Country Cooking at
- 17:15Speaker 2: the corner of fifteenth in Uber in downtown Nashville.
- 17:18Speaker 1: They got chicken in the rough. They got chicken. They
- 17:20Speaker 1: got chicken, catcha tory. They got broiled chicken. Boiled chicken, brothers,
- 17:24Speaker 1: they got barbecued chicken.
- 17:25Speaker 2: And guess what unless you're chicken, so you've got to
- 17:27Speaker 2: really enjoy their chicken tequila.
- 17:30Speaker 1: That's right.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Roscoe's Roscoe's Country Cooking in downtown Nashville, and I'm Roscoe,
- 17:35Speaker 2: and I'll there isn't anything that's ever been done with
- 17:38Speaker 2: or two a chicken that I haven't tried. And sorry, folks,
- 17:41Speaker 2: we didn't mean that. That is Roscoe and the restaurant
- 17:44Speaker 2: is named after him, but he hasn't been allowed out.
- 17:46Speaker 2: That's wow, that's a big mistake there. Who's too did that?
- 17:50Speaker 2: Roscoe's Country Cooking in Nashville? Chicken and more memory great
- 17:56Speaker 2: country disc jockey and knowing out of the great stars
- 18:00Speaker 2: of times, they're going to come over to your house,
- 18:01Speaker 2: They're going to break bread with you, they over, I
- 18:02Speaker 2: have a drink, maybe they'll have dinner with you. A
- 18:04Speaker 2: lot of times we're out and we're hanging out with
- 18:06Speaker 2: a lot of the great country stars, and fans will
- 18:08Speaker 2: come up and say, hey, can we get an autograph?
- 18:10Speaker 2: And I realized that it's very exciting for a lot
- 18:12Speaker 2: of you fans to get the autographs of Jeane Bell
- 18:14Speaker 2: and any of the country artists that I'm with. But
- 18:17Speaker 2: so many times it just is not possible, So we
- 18:20Speaker 2: do ask you to stop and don't bother us while
- 18:22Speaker 2: we're eating and while we're having drinks and while we're
- 18:25Speaker 2: laughing and enjoying our lives. Is very, very wealthy and
- 18:27Speaker 2: important people. Now, one time that happened. I was with
- 18:31Speaker 2: a country artist by the name of Chris Young. And
- 18:33Speaker 2: Chris Young, as you know, as a brand new star.
- 18:35Speaker 2: He's got a brand new song ad. It's called Think
- 18:37Speaker 2: of You and it's a duet with I believe it's
- 18:40Speaker 2: Cassidy Pope. Well, anyway, it was Chris Young that evening
- 18:44Speaker 2: and some kid came over and said, can I get
- 18:46Speaker 2: your autograph? And I said no, you may not quit
- 18:48Speaker 2: bothering me. And the kids said, mister Young, and Chris
- 18:51Speaker 2: kind of looked at me and laughed, and I said, well,
- 18:53Speaker 2: you just embarrassed me.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Kid.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Do you want my autograph or don't you? And the
- 18:57Speaker 2: kids said, I don't even know who you are. And
- 18:58Speaker 2: I said, okay, that does. I grabbed the kid and
- 19:01Speaker 2: I ran him right out the door. I mean I
- 19:02Speaker 2: grabbed him by the belt, I had him by the
- 19:04Speaker 2: collar and ran him right out into the street. And unfortunately, yes,
- 19:08Speaker 2: he was hit by a bus. But that was on him,
- 19:10Speaker 2: not me. That was on him, not me, because he
- 19:12Speaker 2: was bothering me. Jeanj of Bell and Chris Young in
- 19:15Speaker 2: the middle of dinner.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Chris said, why did you do that.
- 19:16Speaker 2: I like signing autographs and I said autografts.
- 19:19Speaker 1: He said, no autographs.
- 19:21Speaker 2: I said, don't lie to me, Young, You lie in
- 19:23Speaker 2: sack a crap you don't like signing. And before I
- 19:26Speaker 2: got the word autograph out, he'd hit me with a
- 19:28Speaker 2: straight left shot right into the teeth. I lost one, two, three, four,
- 19:32Speaker 2: five teeth from the upper jaw and I said, that's
- 19:35Speaker 2: amazing shot.
- 19:36Speaker 1: I remember. I said that.
- 19:38Speaker 2: I was really it hurt, but I was also very impressed,
- 19:40Speaker 2: and he said, thank yousjeez. Well, there was blood spewing everywhere,
- 19:45Speaker 2: and meanwhile there were people lining up to have their
- 19:46Speaker 2: autograph sign. I said, excuse me, I can't sign it. Actually,
- 19:49Speaker 2: I said I can't thank you as they gassed and
- 19:52Speaker 2: they said, we don't want your autograph, you freak on wheels.
- 19:54Speaker 1: I said, that's the hit.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Well, and Chris started signing all these autographs. I said, hey, Chris,
- 19:59Speaker 2: tell you what, man, how about signing with me? And
- 20:01Speaker 2: of course was sounding like this, how about he said,
- 20:04Speaker 2: I'm not going to sign with you. You're spitting blood
- 20:06Speaker 2: all over the place. You look like you look like
- 20:09Speaker 2: Dracula with no teeth in the middle of your head.
- 20:11Speaker 1: Get out of here, that's what.
- 20:13Speaker 2: He grabbed me by the collar, grabbed me by my belt,
- 20:15Speaker 2: and ran me right out in the same street that
- 20:17Speaker 2: I just run that young fan out into.
- 20:19Speaker 1: And you got it, the same bus came by. No, man,
- 20:23Speaker 1: he didn't do it. I know a lot of you
- 20:25Speaker 1: were thinking right now or and you're asking, well, did
- 20:26Speaker 1: it hit you?
- 20:28Speaker 2: No, it didn't because I had a skillful side step
- 20:31Speaker 2: that I used. I was quicker, a lot quicker than
- 20:33Speaker 2: that fans. No, the bus didn't hit me, right, the
- 20:36Speaker 2: bus didn't hit me.
- 20:37Speaker 1: But I did.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Continue across the street into the other oncoming traffic, and
- 20:41Speaker 2: that bus hit me.
- 20:42Speaker 1: It was a bus that was going the other way.
- 20:43Speaker 2: But I really like to think that I did way
- 20:46Speaker 2: way better than that fan he got hit by the
- 20:48Speaker 2: first bus.
- 20:48Speaker 1: I was able to avoid the first bus.
- 20:50Speaker 2: Yes, I did run into the path of the second
- 20:52Speaker 2: bus and it did hit me. And I was in
- 20:55Speaker 2: the hospital for four months. And I will tell you
- 20:58Speaker 2: this right now, I don't really remember any thing for
- 21:00Speaker 2: about a week or two weeks after I got out
- 21:02Speaker 2: of the hospital, and I don't really remember anything about
- 21:05Speaker 2: what Chris Young looks like, but he's one of the
- 21:08Speaker 2: great stars of all times.
- 21:16Speaker 1: In the space manories came.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Je Ja bills Country hits them all time for us,
- 21:27Speaker 2: saying Maren Morris said a song called My Church. When
- 21:29Speaker 2: I first heard it, I thought, no, I'm not going
- 21:31Speaker 2: that round. I'm gonna do that country music spiritual round. Yeah.
- 21:33Speaker 2: I know you got you got gut when you stopped
- 21:35Speaker 2: drinking stut' using bills. But I can't do that. I
- 21:37Speaker 2: can't play that. I can't go there. I'm a honkey
- 21:39Speaker 2: talk kind of a guy. So when Maren Morries said
- 21:41Speaker 2: to me, I got this beautiful song, mister Jabel, I said, yeah,
- 21:43Speaker 2: let me guess it's called my Church? And you found
- 21:44Speaker 2: Jesus said sort of. I said, why don't you get
- 21:47Speaker 2: your country ass the hell out of my office? We
- 21:50Speaker 2: had About six months later, I saw it was churning,
- 21:52Speaker 2: so I went over to Mara's house. And by that
- 21:54Speaker 2: time she was married to a very big, strong, muscular guy,
- 21:56Speaker 2: and he said, what do you want. I said, I
- 21:58Speaker 2: want to talk to Marion. I don't want to talk
- 21:59Speaker 2: to you. I'll tell you what. When I want to
- 22:01Speaker 2: talk to you, I'll come around with a bar of soap.
- 22:03Speaker 2: And that's when he picked me up and kind of
- 22:05Speaker 2: put me under his arm, almost as if he was
- 22:07Speaker 2: carrying like a big sack of something, and he rammed
- 22:10Speaker 2: my head I would say a good half a dozen
- 22:12Speaker 2: to a dozen times, rammed my head into a concrete
- 22:15Speaker 2: wall that they had around back here. They're building a
- 22:17Speaker 2: swimming pool, I say, around here, I'm just imagining her backyard.
- 22:20Speaker 2: They're putting in a swimming pool, and they were also
- 22:22Speaker 2: putting into a barbecue pit, and there was going to
- 22:24Speaker 2: be a gas pit there as well, a fire pit.
- 22:26Speaker 1: And he began ramming my head into.
- 22:28Speaker 2: What would be the bar for the barbecue, and there
- 22:30Speaker 2: would be chairs there. I said, this is very nice.
- 22:32Speaker 2: He said, you're still conscious? I said yeah. And then
- 22:35Speaker 2: one final ram of my head into this bar, he
- 22:38Speaker 2: just let gold me, just kind of put his arms
- 22:39Speaker 2: out to his side, and I dropped like.
- 22:41Speaker 1: A well, just like a sega shit.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Right out of the cement there. And when I finally
- 22:48Speaker 2: did wake up, the sun had gone down. I saw
- 22:50Speaker 2: people partying and having fun in the house, I realized
- 22:52Speaker 2: I was still a Meren Morris's house, and I finally
- 22:54Speaker 2: kind of picked myself up and dusted myself off and
- 22:57Speaker 2: went around the side of the house so no one
- 22:59Speaker 2: saw me, and got out to the front of the
- 23:00Speaker 2: street there and just walked all the way down through
- 23:02Speaker 2: the gates and out out of the boulevard and hitchhiked
- 23:04Speaker 2: because there wasn't any way to get a cab, and
- 23:06Speaker 2: there wasn't any way to get a bus, and my
- 23:08Speaker 2: cell phone had been smashed to pieces, frank and I
- 23:12Speaker 2: don't know how, but it was I think somebody pulled
- 23:14Speaker 2: it out of my pocket and stepped on it. So
- 23:16Speaker 2: when I finally got to a pay phone, I was
- 23:17Speaker 2: able to call up a cab, and then I had
- 23:19Speaker 2: to get over to a cash machine. I got mugged there.
- 23:22Speaker 2: I was mugged by one of barn morses as a buddyguards.
- 23:24Speaker 2: He said, I'm only kidding and gave me the money back.
- 23:26Speaker 2: And then I finally got to the hotel, but since
- 23:28Speaker 2: I couldn't pay my bill, I had to go down
- 23:30Speaker 2: here to a Super eight and I went to sleep,
- 23:32Speaker 2: and I believe there was fecal matter in the bed.
- 23:37Speaker 2: I've had my ass beat kicked. I have had rocks
- 23:40Speaker 2: dropped on my head. I've had lead pipes hit across
- 23:43Speaker 2: my face. I've had all kinds of manner of beatings,
- 23:47Speaker 2: and I take them like a man. And you know what,
- 23:49Speaker 2: I consider a very, very, a wonderful aspect of my
- 23:52Speaker 2: life careers that I've had my ass kicked by similar greats.
- 23:55Speaker 2: I've met my ass kick by Merle Haggard. I've had
- 23:57Speaker 2: my ass kicked by Marty Robbins. I've had my ass
- 23:59Speaker 2: kick by Yet That's right, Loretta Lynn, I had my
- 24:01Speaker 2: ass kicked by Minnie Pearl.
- 24:02Speaker 1: When I went how Dee and I made fit. I
- 24:05Speaker 1: pointed and I laughed at her.
- 24:07Speaker 2: She came over and she had what was I don't
- 24:09Speaker 2: know if you're familiar with those big old stand ashtrays.
- 24:12Speaker 1: She had an ashtray. It was on a.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Stand and she took it and she hit me beautiful
- 24:16Speaker 2: flush right in the side, right up around the orbital
- 24:18Speaker 2: bone of the eye socket with the ashtray itself, using
- 24:21Speaker 2: the stand as a sort of the baseball bat. Hit
- 24:24Speaker 2: me full with this ashtray, kind of stunned me. I
- 24:26Speaker 2: saw little lights and I said, try to be very
- 24:29Speaker 2: very cool. I said, Minnie, wow, you know what the
- 24:32Speaker 2: get the license plate of that truck. Sorry, man, it
- 24:34Speaker 2: didn't mean to say, you've got a big ass, but
- 24:36Speaker 2: ha ha ha. And that's when one of her people
- 24:39Speaker 2: picked me up, turned me upside down and pile drived me,
- 24:42Speaker 2: or pile drove me. And I was saying, is that
- 24:44Speaker 2: a pile? Did you just pile drive me? He said no,
- 24:46Speaker 2: I piled drove you. I piled drove you. And I said,
- 24:49Speaker 2: thank you, thank you for making that.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Very very clear.
- 24:53Speaker 3: Many little way hits in here and then when it
- 24:55Speaker 3: hits some on me out the Willie Hickson Blue Pond.
- 24:58Speaker 1: I played a band Joe. I played a stand up
- 24:59Speaker 1: bas the.
- 25:00Speaker 3: Gut bucket and I get up there and I've got
- 25:01Speaker 3: a monkey to hop around on the end of a leash.
- 25:04Speaker 1: That's right.
- 25:04Speaker 3: I played an organ grind. I'm the only organ grinde
- 25:06Speaker 3: in Nashville, Tennessee. I do a country organ grind act.
- 25:09Speaker 3: If you will, I hope you come out there to
- 25:10Speaker 3: the Willie Hickson Blues Parlot. I'll be out there. Jean Jabelle,
- 25:13Speaker 3: I'll be hosting a couple of the shows. She gonna
- 25:15Speaker 3: be bringing out mostly the Monkey Act. I want y'all
- 25:18Speaker 3: to know that I respect that I love Gene, but
- 25:20Speaker 3: I will only trust them. Introing a monkey act, all
- 25:23Speaker 3: the heavyweight blues and all the heavy country stuff. I
- 25:25Speaker 3: intro myself, Jane, I hope you don't mind that anyway.
- 25:28Speaker 3: Willie Hitson hamby the Willy Hickson. I'll be at the
- 25:30Speaker 3: Lily Willie Hitson Blues part of Willy Lily and Lily
- 25:32Speaker 3: Willy and I'm Lily Willey the Willie Hickson Blues Parlor
- 25:35Speaker 3: here in Nashville, Tennessee.
- 25:37Speaker 1: Y'all say, well.
- 25:42Speaker 2: I went back the next week. This is the story.
- 25:43Speaker 2: The part of the story didn't tell you. Went about
- 25:44Speaker 2: the next week. They say, hey, Florida Georgia line, how
- 25:46Speaker 2: about giving Geen Jabell another chance. Okay, I know that
- 25:48Speaker 2: you bust at the garage door down.
- 25:50Speaker 1: On top of my head. They said, sure, Jane, Sure,
- 25:52Speaker 1: we'll give you another chance. What would you like?
- 25:53Speaker 2: I said, I'd like you to sign this contract my
- 25:55Speaker 2: management company. It'll be a management deal with Jean Jebel
- 25:59Speaker 2: who play some of the great country hits and gets
- 26:01Speaker 2: his ass kicked by some of the great country outis
- 26:03Speaker 2: I think this ought to be the first time that
- 26:04Speaker 2: I'm actually able to sign a management deal. You guys,
- 26:06Speaker 2: don't kick my ass. They said, do you mind if
- 26:08Speaker 2: we go outside and talk about it.
- 26:09Speaker 1: I said not at all.
- 26:10Speaker 2: So they went outside, and that's when they had already
- 26:12Speaker 2: placed some charges around the house. Unbeknownst to me, they
- 26:16Speaker 2: were all set to go, and when they went outside,
- 26:18Speaker 2: they went ahead and detonated those charges. So there were
- 26:21Speaker 2: explosions in the back of the house, in the kitchen
- 26:23Speaker 2: and in the quarters of the living room where I was.
- 26:25Speaker 2: That set the entire house on fire, and the home
- 26:28Speaker 2: was burning down around me. I couldn't get out either
- 26:30Speaker 2: of the doors. I couldn't get out to the sliding
- 26:32Speaker 2: glass door because that was broken, and the house had
- 26:35Speaker 2: caved in on that side. So the house began to
- 26:37Speaker 2: burn down around me after they had detonated these strategically
- 26:41Speaker 2: placed charges, and I squear to god, I was in
- 26:44Speaker 2: that house up until the very last minute when I
- 26:46Speaker 2: finally just walked through a wall of flame with a
- 26:48Speaker 2: wet towel over my head.
- 26:50Speaker 1: Now, this wall of flame could have melt steel.
- 26:52Speaker 2: This wall of flame probably could have melted steel, and
- 26:55Speaker 2: probably could have it probably could have brought down the
- 26:57Speaker 2: World Trade Center, and yet I put a wet towel
- 26:59Speaker 2: over my head and I proudly walked through it. Now,
- 27:01Speaker 2: when I got outside, they said that my entire suit
- 27:04Speaker 2: of clothes was on fire. They put it out with
- 27:06Speaker 2: a hose. They put it out with a fire extinguisher.
- 27:08Speaker 2: I got up and began staggering toward Florida, Georgia line, saying, okay,
- 27:12Speaker 2: you guys are signed a contract. And they're like, and
- 27:16Speaker 2: they dove into their limousine and they raced off down
- 27:18Speaker 2: and I don't know what the hell happened to them,
- 27:20Speaker 2: but I hear they read a gig the following night.
- 27:22Speaker 2: I tried to get into that gig the following night,
- 27:23Speaker 2: but I was still wearing the suit that I was
- 27:25Speaker 2: wearing with a house burned down, and they said, oh
- 27:27Speaker 2: my god, you're in What happened to you? I set
- 27:29Speaker 2: a house burned down around me and I said, you
- 27:31Speaker 2: got to get to a hospital, man. I said, no,
- 27:33Speaker 2: I gotta sign a manage back contact. And that's when
- 27:36Speaker 2: they basically bundled me off onto a stretcher, put me
- 27:39Speaker 2: in the hospital, and I just laid there for a
- 27:41Speaker 2: few weeks. I wasn't burned all that badly. I'd had
- 27:44Speaker 2: that wet towel over me, But boy did I need
- 27:45Speaker 2: a new suit of clothes. I got singed on the
- 27:47Speaker 2: ass a little bit, but I got up out of
- 27:49Speaker 2: the hospital. I determined that I would sign Florida Georgia
- 27:52Speaker 2: Line to a management contract.
- 27:53Speaker 1: So I went back to their house.
- 27:54Speaker 2: And as I got there, I went and I said
- 27:56Speaker 2: to the here, They said, no, get out of here,
- 27:58Speaker 2: Geinge Bell. So I got back to my car. Will
- 28:00Speaker 2: so I'm going to put an explosive in the engine block.
- 28:02Speaker 1: That's right.
- 28:02Speaker 2: When I turned the ignition, the car blew to Helen
- 28:04Speaker 2: back Florda Georgia Line. Here, I'm Ginge Bell.
- 28:15Speaker 1: This is Country USA.
- 28:17Speaker 2: The top country hits of all time, played here by
- 28:20Speaker 2: one of the top country jocks of all time.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Let me tell us some right now here on a
- 28:23Speaker 1: Ginge Bell show.
- 28:25Speaker 2: I'm always having myself a good time playing the hits
- 28:28Speaker 2: that you want to hear and getting my ass beat,
- 28:31Speaker 2: and I mean beat bloody by your favorite artists. Let's
- 28:35Speaker 2: go back in time now to a time when a
- 28:37Speaker 2: man named Marty Robbins I didn't think would amount to
- 28:40Speaker 2: a hill of shit.
- 28:41Speaker 1: I told Mary about it. I told her about a beats.
- 28:47Speaker 2: Well, he did, you know the song the Devil Woman?
- 28:49Speaker 2: You know the song He'll Pass. So you know a
- 28:51Speaker 2: lot of those great Marty Robbins hits. Jane Bell didn't
- 28:54Speaker 2: think Marty Robins would amount to a pinch of shit
- 28:56Speaker 2: readA but he did. And so I knocked on his
- 28:59Speaker 2: door there and Nashville. His offices now very palatial, with
- 29:02Speaker 2: all kinds of assistants and all kinds of producers and
- 29:04Speaker 2: all kinds of agents.
- 29:05Speaker 1: I said, Marty, this is your lucky day. It's Jean Jabell.
- 29:09Speaker 2: I was the one that called you a washed up
- 29:11Speaker 2: grease monkey about two years ago. Remember when you thought
- 29:13Speaker 2: you're a big nasscarse, you know, speed driver, all that
- 29:16Speaker 2: stuff he goes, it's called a race car driver, Gene.
- 29:18Speaker 2: I said, ha ha, I know that it's not called
- 29:21Speaker 2: a speed driver. Said, I'm just talking about my hobby,
- 29:24Speaker 2: which is popping that speed.
- 29:25Speaker 1: You know I'm kidding. You know I'm kidding, Marty.
- 29:27Speaker 2: He said, Well, one of the reasons I didn't go
- 29:28Speaker 2: with you as a manager because I know you're heavily
- 29:30Speaker 2: involved in drug dealing. I said, pullshit, I said, Marty,
- 29:34Speaker 2: even a hillbilly like you can't be that's stupid. And
- 29:37Speaker 2: I'm here to pull your life out of the sewer
- 29:39Speaker 2: that it's in with all that stock car racing, and
- 29:41Speaker 2: I want to make some real hits. Devil Woman's fine,
- 29:43Speaker 2: El Paso's fine. Why don't you pull your head out
- 29:46Speaker 2: of your ass, take the corn cob out.
- 29:48Speaker 1: Of your ear?
- 29:49Speaker 2: Okay, put up the jaw, drop that butter hog you
- 29:52Speaker 2: got off of your lap, and let's get some real brods.
- 29:55Speaker 1: And let's get this show.
- 29:57Speaker 2: On the And I didn't get the the word rode
- 30:00Speaker 2: out because as soon as I tried to say the word,
- 30:03Speaker 2: a glass ashtray was smashed right into my face. I mean,
- 30:07Speaker 2: someone took it almost like they pommed it like you'd
- 30:09Speaker 2: palm a basketball and shoved it into my face. And
- 30:12Speaker 2: it smashed across my face, all of the glass just
- 30:16Speaker 2: embedding itself in the flesh of my cheeks, some of
- 30:18Speaker 2: the glass going right into my gums. And though I
- 30:21Speaker 2: talk like this, I said, Navi, Navi Navia, know you
- 30:26Speaker 2: thought they Kevin his girlfriend went ah, oh my god,
- 30:29Speaker 2: look at it. And Marty said, you're scaring her. Now
- 30:31Speaker 2: get out of here. Jean, I don't want to hurt
- 30:32Speaker 2: any worse than that.
- 30:33Speaker 1: I thought, Bobby, let's that's when he called up a bodyguard. Yeah,
- 30:39Speaker 1: you're right.
- 30:39Speaker 2: I mean all these guys have got bodyguards everywhere. These
- 30:41Speaker 2: two guys were big, two ugly cowboys, and.
- 30:44Speaker 1: I said, that's good, that's top. They did get well.
- 30:46Speaker 2: These two cowboys tried to throw punches, but I grabbed
- 30:50Speaker 2: both of their fists as each approached my head from
- 30:52Speaker 2: either side, and I twisted their wrists so far around
- 30:55Speaker 2: that both guys dropped to their knees, screaming in agony.
- 30:58Speaker 2: And I was saying, look, Bobby, and he was saying,
- 31:03Speaker 2: oh my god, look what you've done to my bodyguards.
- 31:06Speaker 2: At that point, he went into his desk and he
- 31:08Speaker 2: pulled out you got it to Smith and Wesson six shots,
- 31:11Speaker 2: and he started pumping bullets at me. I got winged
- 31:14Speaker 2: in the shoulder, hitting the other shoulder, hitting the elbow,
- 31:17Speaker 2: hitting a knee, hitting the other knee. He never did
- 31:19Speaker 2: hit body mass, but oh god, it hurt.
- 31:21Speaker 1: But I would self tagle a love and I said
- 31:24Speaker 1: the hes a babby, Mobby, And that's when the police arrived.
- 31:27Speaker 2: I was tased again, blood pouring out of my face,
- 31:30Speaker 2: my knees, my elbows in one.
- 31:32Speaker 1: Shoulder, thrown it into the back of a radio car.
- 31:35Speaker 2: When I got to the sub station, I escaped and
- 31:37Speaker 2: I began running down the street toward Marty's office, and
- 31:40Speaker 2: that's when I was approached by another Nashville police officer.
- 31:42Speaker 1: I was double tased, hobbled.
- 31:44Speaker 2: That's right, and then I was remanded for seventy two
- 31:46Speaker 2: hours psychiatric over you know, care oversight, whatever they call it.
- 31:50Speaker 2: And as soon as I got out, my mouth wasn't
- 31:52Speaker 2: completely healed. I went back to Marty Ba Baba, and
- 31:57Speaker 2: that's when somebody came out with a fire extinguisher and
- 32:00Speaker 2: busted it clean over my head, bending the fire extinguisher
- 32:03Speaker 2: right around my head so it looked like you got
- 32:05Speaker 2: it yet again. A fire extinguisher bonnet. See Winston Haley,
- 32:11Speaker 2: I've been thirteen years in Nashville. I'll be thirteen more.
- 32:13Speaker 2: That's because we cook it up, and we fry it up,
- 32:16Speaker 2: We butter it up, and we grease it up. Whatever
- 32:18Speaker 2: you want, we'll cook it and we will lay it
- 32:20Speaker 2: on thick and hard. Winston's that's the place for breakfast.
- 32:23Speaker 2: It's the place for lunch. It's the place for dinner
- 32:26Speaker 2: at Winston's in Nashville. We'll cook it up, fry it up,
- 32:28Speaker 2: lard it up, we fat it up, and we beef
- 32:30Speaker 2: it up. If you don't die from some kind of
- 32:33Speaker 2: blood clot then we aren't doing our business right. If
- 32:36Speaker 2: you don't die from some sort of blood plot. Winston's
- 32:39Speaker 2: in Nashville. Get it on Old Country Door. Here's more
- 32:43Speaker 2: from Glenn Campbell, who has Alzheimer's emelan for the county.
- 32:49Speaker 2: How we could remember that? I've never known not drive
- 32:52Speaker 2: the main road.
- 32:54Speaker 1: Not very straight, though I have search in the sun.
- 33:02Speaker 1: I took him about three days. The sun had gone
- 33:05Speaker 1: down twice. You singing in why Yeah, I'll bet you're
- 33:09Speaker 1: hearing something singing in the wires, and I can. I
- 33:13Speaker 1: can hear you through the wine.
- 33:14Speaker 2: I'll bet you can.
- 33:15Speaker 1: There's gen Glenn Campbell. I should say I'm Ginge Bel.
- 33:18Speaker 2: This is the Ginge of Bell Country USA show here
- 33:21Speaker 2: for this Wednesday, y'all live. Yeah in a country lineman.
- 33:25Speaker 2: He's still on the line. How is he still on
- 33:28Speaker 2: the He's hanging for the line. Somebody get the clothes
- 33:33Speaker 2: pegs off of him so we can take him in
- 33:35Speaker 2: off the line.
- 33:35Speaker 1: Where the wash is. Oh it don't.
- 33:40Speaker 3: This is a ging of bel show. It's gonna be
- 33:42Speaker 3: right back when Willie Hickson here. Don't forget the Willy

- 33:54Speaker 1: The Willie Hickson Blues Parlor.
- 33:56Speaker 2: Then I will be escorted from the club and not
- 33:57Speaker 2: allowed to go back in until the show is over with.
- 34:01Speaker 2: I can go back in and get dessert and coffee,
- 34:03Speaker 2: but they will escort me up to the parking lot.
- 34:05Speaker 2: So if you want to talk, come on out to
- 34:06Speaker 2: the parking lot. They bring along something that's good to
- 34:08Speaker 2: look at. Okay, maybe your old lady, maybe your daughter's something,
- 34:11Speaker 2: so I can have something to look at instead of you. Thanks.
- 34:15Speaker 3: But he hits an he handed bluth poder. Come on
- 34:17Speaker 3: out this Saturday night. Will He hits the louth potet
- 34:19Speaker 3: and played the banjo, played the flupper horn. I played
- 34:21Speaker 3: a French horn, all kinds of horn, and Lena horn.
- 34:26Speaker 3: I did play Lena horn until she found me out.
- 34:29Speaker 3: I've been a business manager and I played her for
- 34:31Speaker 3: about ten years. That'd be roughly ten million dollar worth.
- 34:36Speaker 2: Willie Hickson, former business manager for Lena Horn, now plays
- 34:39Speaker 2: the French horn at the Willie Hickson Blues and Country
- 34:42Speaker 2: Parlor in Nashville. Call now for reservations. Hi, Ginga Bell here, Willie,
- 34:48Speaker 2: thank you so very very much. We continue here on
- 34:50Speaker 2: this our Glenn Campbell's section of the show. This is
- 34:53Speaker 2: our Glenn Campbell section the show. Ginge Bell is being
- 34:56Speaker 2: salute a great artist like Glenn Campbell and ask ourselves,
- 34:59Speaker 2: how's this guy still doing it with Alzheimer's?
- 35:01Speaker 1: Who he is? I mean, this is a recording stop galvist.
- 35:05Speaker 2: I kidd around folks. You know, I'm Gen Jabelle. I'm
- 35:07Speaker 2: well known as the country humorist. I'm the country disc
- 35:10Speaker 2: jackie who has the great sense of humor. And I
- 35:12Speaker 2: remember saying to a good friend of Glenn Campbell's. His
- 35:15Speaker 2: name was Dawson. Heinsey and Dawson had been in Glenn's band.
- 35:18Speaker 2: I said, you know, Glenn's got Alzheimer's. He said, yeah,
- 35:21Speaker 2: it's very very sad. I said, I used a lot
- 35:23Speaker 2: of those lines. I said, well, he was the witchital lineman.
- 35:25Speaker 2: How do you know he remember which line and that
- 35:28Speaker 2: kind of that. I'm going, ha ha ha ha. And
- 35:30Speaker 2: that's what I felt, that that fist again, and I
- 35:33Speaker 2: saw the fist coming, but I was still laughing because
- 35:36Speaker 2: I was laughing at my own line. I said, how
- 35:37Speaker 2: does he know which line he's working on? If he's
- 35:40Speaker 2: the Wichital lineman or the Omaha lineman, how does he
- 35:42Speaker 2: know he's not the des Moines lineman, you know?
- 35:44Speaker 1: And I went ha ha, and my teeth were showing.
- 35:48Speaker 2: Now I saw Dawson's fist coming toward my teeth, but
- 35:51Speaker 2: it was so funny I couldn't stop laughing, even though
- 35:54Speaker 2: I knew in about well about two seconds, three seconds,
- 35:57Speaker 2: I would be in pain. I'd be in a lot
- 35:58Speaker 2: of pain. It would hurt, and it would hurt band
- 36:00Speaker 2: and I'd be tasting teeth. I be tasting blood, I
- 36:02Speaker 2: be tasting teeth fragments. And yet I stayed with the
- 36:05Speaker 2: laugh because that's how funny I think I am.
- 36:08Speaker 1: I risked everything just to go ha ha.
- 36:12Speaker 2: And when you see a fist traveling at pretty good clip,
- 36:15Speaker 2: probably about seventy miles an hour. If that fist was clocked,
- 36:18Speaker 2: that fist was doing seventy eighty miles an hour and
- 36:21Speaker 2: hit my teeth running at a good seventy five eighty
- 36:23Speaker 2: miles an hour. But I could not stop laughing because
- 36:26Speaker 2: I said, is it the wichital alignment or the des
- 36:28Speaker 2: moin lineman? How does he know he's got the Alsheimers?
- 36:31Speaker 2: And I went he he he, And that's when Dawson said,
- 36:35Speaker 2: that is that's just too inviting a target, you and
- 36:37Speaker 2: those yellow teeth. Everybody's stand back. This is going to
- 36:40Speaker 2: be fun. I heard the word fun.
- 36:42Speaker 1: I saw the fist.
- 36:44Speaker 2: I still couldn't stop laughing, but I did stop laughing
- 36:46Speaker 2: when the fist impacted my teeth. I actually heard shattering,
- 36:50Speaker 2: I did. I heard the breaking. What I thought were
- 36:52Speaker 2: was china rare china rare plates. Nope, it was my teeth.
- 36:56Speaker 2: It was my upper bridge. Matt Cambley all here on
- 37:01Speaker 2: a Ginger Bell show Country USA.
- 37:03Speaker 1: But it's here Wednesday. Yeah, yeah, man.
- 37:06Speaker 5: It's knowing that your doors always open, land your pad
- 37:10Speaker 5: dis free to.
- 37:11Speaker 2: Wolf a good thing because you'll go wandering out in
- 37:13Speaker 2: the middle of the night.
- 37:13Speaker 1: Somebody gotta go get him.
- 37:15Speaker 5: And that makes me tend to leave my sleeping back
- 37:17Speaker 5: roll the fences behind your couch.
- 37:20Speaker 2: Is that where you left it for sure, because there's
- 37:22Speaker 2: one behind my couch, and it's knowing I'm.
- 37:24Speaker 5: Not shackled by forgotten words and funds and the eg
- 37:28Speaker 5: stains that are dried upon some line because he can't
- 37:32Speaker 5: remember them. That keeps you in the back roads, by
- 37:37Speaker 5: the rivers of my memory. It keeps you in it
- 37:41Speaker 5: belong mind.
- 37:42Speaker 1: Can you out here? Country USA?
- 37:43Speaker 2: That's the great Glenn Campbell here with Country on my mind.
- 37:45Speaker 2: General on my Mind is the name of the song.
- 37:46Speaker 2: Got country on my mind? I got Glenn Campbell on
- 37:48Speaker 2: my mind because there's a song. And I remember talking
- 37:50Speaker 2: to one of the guys, a great songwriter by the
- 37:53Speaker 2: name of Stinson Haney. You remember Stinson Haney. Yeah, Stinson
- 37:56Speaker 2: was a great country songwriter, and he and I were
- 37:58Speaker 2: talking about the great John Stewart. I wrote that song,
- 38:00Speaker 2: Jenna on my Mind. Jenna on my Mind is a
- 38:01Speaker 2: great song. But it's a song about garbage cans and
- 38:03Speaker 2: fields and and you know.
- 38:05Speaker 1: Junkyards and all that.
- 38:06Speaker 2: And you're talking about a guy who is staggering through
- 38:08Speaker 2: a junkyard and he's got Alzheimer's. And I said to Stints,
- 38:11Speaker 2: and I said, John Stewart must have seen the future
- 38:13Speaker 2: or something when he wrote that song and he gave
- 38:15Speaker 2: it a Glenn Campbell. Glenn Campbell, of course made it
- 38:17Speaker 2: a great hit. I said, but he must have seen
- 38:19Speaker 2: the future, because you can see Glenn singing a song
- 38:21Speaker 2: about staggering through a junk yard and stumbling down the
- 38:24Speaker 2: side of a ravine and falling into a lady's house,
- 38:26Speaker 2: left his sleeping bag there, probably scared the living hell
- 38:28Speaker 2: out of herd and her kids. And I said, what
- 38:30Speaker 2: about you got Glenn Campbell staggering in. He's got the Alzheimer.
- 38:34Speaker 2: And that's when Stinton said, it's called Alzheimer's. Don't be
- 38:36Speaker 2: such a smart ass, I said, you know me, I said,
- 38:38Speaker 2: I'm kidding you know. I've got nothing but loving my
- 38:39Speaker 2: heart Stinton. And he said, so you say, And I said,
- 38:42Speaker 2: well I do. I got nothing but love in my heart.
- 38:44Speaker 2: Just don't I don't understand how it is some guy's
- 38:47Speaker 2: singing a song like that. You're gonna have a man
- 38:49Speaker 2: singing a song like that. He suffers from the Alzheimer
- 38:51Speaker 2: or Alzheimer, whatever you want to call it. And he
- 38:52Speaker 2: goes stumbling down the side of ravine. He rolls out
- 38:54Speaker 2: onto a freight train track, or something. The train goes
- 38:57Speaker 2: right over top of him, and you've got a mutilated,
- 38:59Speaker 2: old dead bump where once you had yourself a country singer.
- 39:02Speaker 2: How does that work? How does that play? Who makes
- 39:05Speaker 2: the decision to have that kind of thing? And Stinson said,
- 39:08Speaker 2: excuse me for a minute. He put down a glass.
- 39:10Speaker 2: He had a big, big high ball. He had a
- 39:11Speaker 2: G and T a Gin and tonic, and he put
- 39:13Speaker 2: it down, and he picked up a big beer mug
- 39:16Speaker 2: that I think was Bosley Brewer, right love the beer
- 39:19Speaker 2: Bosley Brewer had a big beer stein. He said, pardon me,
- 39:21Speaker 2: he put that down. He picked up the beerstein, and
- 39:24Speaker 2: he wailed this into my face. That's the right side.
- 39:28Speaker 2: He punched me with the left hand, hitting the left
- 39:31Speaker 2: of my face. So I was blinded by the shattering
- 39:33Speaker 2: glass and the blood pouring down the right side of
- 39:36Speaker 2: my face. I also felt my cheekbone get crushed by
- 39:39Speaker 2: the left.
- 39:40Speaker 1: That Stinson had hit me with.
- 39:42Speaker 2: And he grabbed me by the hair, my ponytail again,
- 39:45Speaker 2: my much abused ponytail. And that's when he pulled me
- 39:47Speaker 2: down into his left knee, and I swear to God,
- 39:51Speaker 2: I think I broke my nose in three places.
- 39:53Speaker 1: There. I also lost the upper row of teeth.
- 39:55Speaker 2: I'd be the second time in as many weeks I
- 39:57Speaker 2: lost the top bridge. The that was another bridge that
- 40:00Speaker 2: was absolutely destroyed. He took my head, he lifted my
- 40:04Speaker 2: head up, and then he drove it into the other knee.
- 40:05Speaker 2: Now this was a move I'd never seen a guy make,
- 40:07Speaker 2: and frankly, I didn't see the move because my face
- 40:09Speaker 2: is getting driven into both knees. But he alternated knees.
- 40:13Speaker 2: He went, drove my face into one knee, picked it up,
- 40:16Speaker 2: drove my face to the other knee, other knee, other knee,
- 40:18Speaker 2: And I guess at some point somebody put down another
- 40:20Speaker 2: beer stein and started to play the piano. I think
- 40:22Speaker 2: it was Bob Holseley. So he picked up that beer
- 40:25Speaker 2: a stein, and he drove my head down into the
- 40:28Speaker 2: left knee, drove my head down to the right knee,
- 40:30Speaker 2: then lifted my head up, smashed the beer mug across
- 40:32Speaker 2: my face, and then drove it down to the other
- 40:34Speaker 2: knee and the other knee. And I went back and
- 40:35Speaker 2: forth like that. And I'll tell you if ever a
- 40:38Speaker 2: guy was going to make a point about not making
- 40:39Speaker 2: some crack about Glenn Camill with the Alzheimer or whatever
- 40:42Speaker 2: it was, and the guy stumbling down the side of
- 40:45Speaker 2: ravine over across a railroad track, turning some mutilaid bum
- 40:48Speaker 2: outside thing, and he made that point.
- 40:49Speaker 1: I'll tell you that, tell you what.
- 40:51Speaker 2: I was invited into his home. I had lunch. I
- 40:53Speaker 2: met himself and his wife, and as we talked, and
- 40:56Speaker 2: I saw this poor gentleman sitting there on the couch
- 40:58Speaker 2: going through a very debilitating time in his life. We
- 41:01Speaker 2: were discussing the very things, the challenges that he's up
- 41:05Speaker 2: against now, one of the great country artists of all time.
- 41:08Speaker 2: And I said to him, hey, listen, are you having
- 41:10Speaker 2: any problems like do you mistakenly try to boil your
- 41:13Speaker 2: own underwear for lunch? Trying to turn it into soup? Well,
- 41:17Speaker 2: he said to me, what do you mean? He looked confused.
- 41:20Speaker 2: I said, you know what I'm saying. Do you ever
- 41:22Speaker 2: wander outside and almost get hit by trucks? Things like that?
- 41:25Speaker 2: And I was laughing a little bit. Well, I looked
- 41:27Speaker 2: at him, his eyes at a vacant stare. His wife
- 41:29Speaker 2: looked at me, and she got very angry, and she
- 41:32Speaker 2: picked up the very heavy lid that she'd had on
- 41:35Speaker 2: a pot of lentle soup that she was making for
- 41:37Speaker 2: our lunch, and she took the lid and she crashed
- 41:40Speaker 2: it down on top of my head, almost as if
- 41:42Speaker 2: to turn it into a hat. Well, my head is
- 41:45Speaker 2: extra thick. I've got a very thick skull, and so
- 41:48Speaker 2: it basically bent the lid around my head and until
- 41:52Speaker 2: finally when she brought this thing entirely down on me,
- 41:55Speaker 2: the lid was covering my ears almost like a kind
- 41:57Speaker 2: of funny looking metal bonnet. Her and looked at her.
- 42:00Speaker 2: There was a little trickle of blood now coming down
- 42:02Speaker 2: from the top of my split skull. And that's when
- 42:05Speaker 2: I said, why did you do that? All I was
- 42:07Speaker 2: talking about was mumbles over here? Does he ever walk
- 42:09Speaker 2: into traffic? And that's when she took a heavy cast
- 42:12Speaker 2: iron skillet and she hit me right across the side
- 42:15Speaker 2: of my face with it, fracturing my cheekbone. Well, at
- 42:18Speaker 2: that point I couldn't see out of that eye, and
- 42:20Speaker 2: I began to lurch toward her to try to explain
- 42:22Speaker 2: to her that everything was okay and I didn't mean
- 42:24Speaker 2: any offense. By then, the man that we were talking about,
- 42:26Speaker 2: this great country artist, also got up and he started
- 42:29Speaker 2: coming toward me as well, saying don't you hurt my wife?
- 42:32Speaker 2: And I said to him, look, bumbles, why don't you
- 42:34Speaker 2: sit down while you still have the ability to stand
- 42:37Speaker 2: up so that you could sit down? Otherwise you'd just
- 42:39Speaker 2: be sitting all of that. And I didn't get the
- 42:41Speaker 2: word time out because I was then hit with a
- 42:44Speaker 2: very heavy clock from a mantle that they had. It
- 42:47Speaker 2: was a big, heavy, thick, old fashioned clock, and I
- 42:49Speaker 2: was hit right in the mouth. I mean, she took this,
- 42:52Speaker 2: the wife, this clock, and jammed this thing, almost tried
- 42:55Speaker 2: to take this entire, big fifteen twenty pound clock and
- 42:59Speaker 2: show it right into my mouth. Well, I couldn't talk,
- 43:02Speaker 2: My teeth were coming out of my head, blood was
- 43:05Speaker 2: pouring down my face, and I was a little bit
- 43:07Speaker 2: disoriented as I began to stagger outside outside where, well
- 43:10Speaker 2: outside the home of one of country music's great artists. Whowever,
- 43:14Speaker 2: a guy who may be boiling is underwear these days
- 43:17Speaker 2: are walking in front of buses. I can tell you
- 43:19Speaker 2: that that day I wandered out of his house and
- 43:21Speaker 2: I almost was hit by a truck that was aiming
- 43:23Speaker 2: for me, driven by his wife. The time.
- 43:27Speaker 1: I get to Phoenix, sho be RAZI all right, that's
- 43:32Speaker 1: enough of that. That's Glenn Campbell.
- 43:33Speaker 2: Hey everybody, this is Jane of Bell and this is
- 43:36Speaker 2: the Country USA show guy that beat my ass bloody once,
- 43:40Speaker 2: Glenn Campbell.
- 43:41Speaker 1: Milan for the County.
- 43:46Speaker 2: And drive the main Remember meeting Glenn Campbell in Nashville
- 43:51Speaker 2: years ago and I said, really, you are Alignment for
- 43:53Speaker 2: the County and you drive the main road? Are you
- 43:55Speaker 2: sure you still have a driver's license after similar things
- 43:58Speaker 2: I've seen you pull? And he went You could tell
- 44:00Speaker 2: that he was just trying to get away from me.
- 44:02Speaker 2: It was that a party that was being given by
- 44:03Speaker 2: one of the record labels, And I said, Alignment for
- 44:05Speaker 2: the Cutty. Are you sure this guy even knows how
- 44:07Speaker 2: to climb a tree? Wait, excuse me, I'm sure he
- 44:09Speaker 2: knows how to climb a tree because I think a
- 44:12Speaker 2: lot of his ancestors did the same thing.
- 44:15Speaker 1: Ha ha ha. Well he wasn't none too amused.
- 44:18Speaker 2: You know, some guys just don't have a sense of humor,
- 44:20Speaker 2: especially when Jean Ja Bell is knocking it out of
- 44:23Speaker 2: the park at your expense. Finally, I said to him,
- 44:26Speaker 2: you know something, Glenn, I don't think you've ever really
- 44:28Speaker 2: done any work harder then string a guitar. What do
- 44:31Speaker 2: you think about? And as soon as I got out
- 44:32Speaker 2: the word what do you think about? I was about
- 44:34Speaker 2: to say, what do you think about that? And I
- 44:36Speaker 2: think I might even have started with the word that,
- 44:39Speaker 2: but I didn't quite get it out. The fist full fist,
- 44:42Speaker 2: and I say, the fist attached to the wrist, attached
- 44:46Speaker 2: to the arm, attached to the Glenn Cammel, not me,
- 44:50Speaker 2: you more than it was a straight left hand. It
- 44:53Speaker 2: caught me flush right in the mouth. It loosened the
- 44:56Speaker 2: two front teeth, It knocked out the two bottom teeth.
- 44:59Speaker 2: I could taste blood immediately, and I began to spit
- 45:01Speaker 2: it on the floor. It was a beautiful rug there
- 45:04Speaker 2: at a very very beautiful, beautiful hotel banquet hall that
- 45:08Speaker 2: the record label was having this party yet. But I
- 45:11Speaker 2: began to stain the rug with blood and it was
- 45:13Speaker 2: running down the front of a brand spaking new silk
- 45:15Speaker 2: shirt that I was wearing. And I had just had
- 45:18Speaker 2: my head shaved, and I said, hey, Glenn, why did
- 45:23Speaker 2: you do that? He said, because, Gene, you've always been
- 45:26Speaker 2: a swine hunt and a slob. You've always been a
- 45:28Speaker 2: real brainless empty head. You are nothing to me, I said,
- 45:32Speaker 2: just because I didn't think you'd make it with all
- 45:34Speaker 2: of this symphonic crap that you're doing. I realize now
- 45:37Speaker 2: going with Jimmy Webb and all that beautiful music was
- 45:39Speaker 2: the right move.
- 45:40Speaker 1: I know I made fun of it.
- 45:41Speaker 2: I know. I said, you went from being a bona
- 45:44Speaker 2: fide great session player to some kind of half a fag.
- 45:47Speaker 2: Excuse me, I did use those words back when it
- 45:49Speaker 2: was okay to use those words. Glenn said, it still
- 45:52Speaker 2: isn't okay with me for you to use the phrase
- 45:54Speaker 2: half a fag, And with that he grabbed my head.
- 45:57Speaker 2: You got it, brought my face right down to his
- 46:00Speaker 2: right knee as hard as he possibly could, split my
- 46:03Speaker 2: nose right up the middle, and he began walking out.
- 46:06Speaker 2: I staggered after him, saying, yes, that's right. I was
- 46:11Speaker 2: gagging on my own blood. Change of Bells Country, USA. Hi,
- 46:18Speaker 2: Winston Too May here for Winston two May Barbecue. I
- 46:20Speaker 2: know what I said in the last commercial. It might
- 46:22Speaker 2: have been a completely different name, but I'm here to
- 46:24Speaker 2: tell you that no matter what name we go by,
- 46:26Speaker 2: Winston Too May, Winston Barrel, or some other made up name,
- 46:30Speaker 2: our food is delicious. If only we can settle on
- 46:32Speaker 2: the name of our restaurant. We load up the lard,
- 46:34Speaker 2: we load up the fat, we load up the cream,
- 46:35Speaker 2: We load up the margarine, fat, creamy stuffed.
- 46:39Speaker 1: You got it.
- 46:40Speaker 2: If we can stuff it with something, we'll stuff it.
- 46:41Speaker 2: If we can't stuff it with anything, we'll still stuff it.
- 46:44Speaker 2: Is it breakfast? Is it lunch? Is at dinner? Does
- 46:47Speaker 2: it really matter anymore? Taking a look at yourself in
- 46:49Speaker 2: a mirror, Take a look at yourself, See what size
- 46:51Speaker 2: you are. You got it? It doesn't matter, does it.
- 46:55Speaker 2: Here's Marl Haggard in the fight inside of me.
- 46:58Speaker 1: I hear people talking that about we a jing a
- 47:03Speaker 1: bell fleshback in the country. That's right.
- 47:05Speaker 2: I told you the story about meeting Gene excuse me,
- 47:07Speaker 2: meeting Merle Haggard at his home in Nashville, Tennessee, a
- 47:10Speaker 2: number of years ago.
- 47:10Speaker 1: And I went in.
- 47:11Speaker 2: He was recording, I recording some kind of an interview
- 47:13Speaker 2: with a country artist. They said, Hey, Merle, it's me.
- 47:15Speaker 2: It's Ginge a Bell. He said, oh, yeah, you're the
- 47:17Speaker 2: guy that threw me out of your office back when
- 47:19Speaker 2: I just got out of prison.
- 47:20Speaker 1: I said, well, can you blame me? You're a jailbird creep,
- 47:23Speaker 1: and that's what he said. Listen, honey, you take care
- 47:25Speaker 1: of okay.
- 47:26Speaker 2: And he sent his eleven year old daughter over to me,
- 47:28Speaker 2: and she had a baseball bat and she cracked it.
- 47:30Speaker 1: Over the top of my head.
- 47:31Speaker 2: Then she grabbed what looked to me a very very
- 47:34Speaker 2: expensive bass guitar and cracked that over my skull. Then
- 47:36Speaker 2: she picked up what look like a ming vase, very
- 47:39Speaker 2: very ancient, very expensive, busted that over the top of
- 47:41Speaker 2: my head. Then she picked up an end table, busted
- 47:44Speaker 2: that down on the top of my head, picked up
- 47:45Speaker 2: a chair and broke that down over the top of
- 47:47Speaker 2: my head.
- 47:47Speaker 1: And finally that one staggered me when you're running down, And.
- 47:51Speaker 2: Haggard came over and said, I got to destroy half
- 47:53Speaker 2: the furniture in my house to get your ass out
- 47:55Speaker 2: of here. Ging a bell, Oh my god, Jeane a bell,
- 48:05Speaker 2: and my name is Jean Jabell.
- 48:07Speaker 1: Here he is George Jones. Can't beat white Latin.
- 48:10Speaker 5: The barro Lota's back in the hill lee him all
- 48:14Speaker 5: pay and it had him a steel.
- 48:15Speaker 1: Yeah, he brewed a lot lot until the sun went down.
- 48:19Speaker 1: There you can feel him a jug and it passed right.
- 48:22Speaker 2: George Jones there ripping off a little Chuck Berry as
- 48:24Speaker 2: he's had this call Johnny be Good. You've heard Johnny
- 48:26Speaker 2: be Good. Well, that was George Jones stealing that lick
- 48:29Speaker 2: from Chuck Berry. You know, I said that to George Jones.
- 48:32Speaker 2: It was a fantastic I'll tell you, there's nobody like
- 48:34Speaker 2: George Jones the world. George Jones one of the great, great,
- 48:36Speaker 2: great country artists. And we were backstage at the Slugo Festival,
- 48:39Speaker 2: you know, the Sluggo Country festival there at Arkansas and
- 48:41Speaker 2: Little Rock in my hometown, and I said, George, I'll
- 48:43Speaker 2: tell you I have I've heard a lot of people
- 48:45Speaker 2: lift Chuck Berry licks, but I've never heard anybody so
- 48:47Speaker 2: blatantly steal Johnny be Good like the way you just done.
- 48:50Speaker 1: Did that, and.
- 48:51Speaker 2: Without warning, he cracked his guitar down on top of
- 48:54Speaker 2: my head. I mean, he brought the guitar down as
- 48:56Speaker 2: hard as he could. It busted down over my head,
- 48:59Speaker 2: and the strings of the guitar, which were still attached
- 49:01Speaker 2: obviously to the neck and to the body of the guitar,
- 49:05Speaker 2: the strings were stretched over the top of my head.
- 49:07Speaker 2: So everything had busted down over my head. The sound
- 49:10Speaker 2: hole fell apart, and I had the strings that were
- 49:13Speaker 2: still attached to the neck and of the body of
- 49:14Speaker 2: the guitar.
- 49:15Speaker 1: George took both ends of those strings.
- 49:17Speaker 2: He snapped them off of the neck, snap muff the
- 49:18Speaker 2: body of the guitar, and then he grabbed me around
- 49:21Speaker 2: the neck with them and began to strangle me with
- 49:23Speaker 2: the guitar strings while he was repeatedly driving his knee
- 49:27Speaker 2: into my balls, into my gut, into my balls, into
- 49:29Speaker 2: my gut, over and over and over again. I said, man,
- 49:31Speaker 2: that is a beautiful thing you're doing there, George, you said,
- 49:34Speaker 2: do you think so? That's when he head buttted me.
- 49:36Speaker 2: So he used the strings of the guitar to head
- 49:39Speaker 2: butt me, and painful. God damn, it was painful. But
- 49:42Speaker 2: I'll tell you what I think. I learned my lesson
- 49:44Speaker 2: the hard way. And I said, you know what, I
- 49:46Speaker 2: will never accuse you of ripping off Jay. He said,
- 49:48Speaker 2: I don't mind. You accused me of ripping off another musician,
- 49:51Speaker 2: but he's black. You know you're telling me that I
- 49:53Speaker 2: ripped off a black guy. I said, well, I know
- 49:55Speaker 2: how you feel, and I know you're resistant using the
- 49:57Speaker 2: N word. He says, you better believe it because you
- 50:00Speaker 2: did do that. And he said, you know what, you
- 50:02Speaker 2: still you still don't get it. So we grabbed a
- 50:04Speaker 2: frying pan that happened to be there because we were
- 50:06Speaker 2: in the at that point, in the mess hall there
- 50:08Speaker 2: of the auditorium. He grabbed a frying pan and he
- 50:10Speaker 2: hit me a forehand, a backhand, a forehand in a
- 50:13Speaker 2: backhand until there were basically no teeth left in the
- 50:17Speaker 2: right side of my mouth, and the right side of
- 50:21Speaker 2: my jaw had unhinged, so I had no teeth and
- 50:24Speaker 2: my jaw hanging off, and the only thing that was
- 50:26Speaker 2: holding it there was the skin on my face, you know,
- 50:29Speaker 2: And if you've ever seen my face, there is a
- 50:32Speaker 2: whole lot my face can do other than maybe hold
- 50:34Speaker 2: my jaw in place for about thirty.
- 50:36Speaker 1: Seconds, which was the case here with George Jones. Let's
- 50:39Speaker 1: take the Grand Tour.
- 50:41Speaker 2: I'll tell you something, when you talk about the Grand Tour,
- 50:43Speaker 2: reminds me of a very very special guy, a wonderful guy,
- 50:46Speaker 2: one of the great country promoters in this in this
- 50:48Speaker 2: great land of ours, Bobby Cossack. And Bobby was a
- 50:52Speaker 2: guy who he never met anybody did want to do
- 50:55Speaker 2: a favor for it, and we were doing a special
- 50:58Speaker 2: charity function. We were Albuquerque, New Mexico, and we had
- 51:01Speaker 2: just heard that great song, the Grand Tour, as sung
- 51:03Speaker 2: by George Jones. And I know that Bobby, if he
- 51:07Speaker 2: were here today, he would say the same thing he
- 51:09Speaker 2: said to me that night when we heard that song,
- 51:11Speaker 2: The Grand Tour. Bobby had a beautiful daughter who had
- 51:15Speaker 2: just gotten married to a very, very prestigious politician in Washington,
- 51:19Speaker 2: d C. I forget his name, but Bobby's daughter, her
- 51:21Speaker 2: name was Bezolene, a beautiful, beautiful girl. And I said, boy,
- 51:25Speaker 2: I'd love to take the grand tour of her, of her,
- 51:27Speaker 2: I should say, all sixty nine states. And that's when
- 51:30Speaker 2: Bobby looked at me. He said, I can't even believe
- 51:32Speaker 2: that you said what you said. I said, what did
- 51:34Speaker 2: I do?
- 51:35Speaker 1: Now? At the time that was bad.
- 51:38Speaker 2: I knew it was bad, but at the time I
- 51:40Speaker 2: thought it was funny. I always went for funny over bad.
- 51:42Speaker 2: I always went for ask for forgiveness, not permission.
- 51:45Speaker 1: Huh, isn't that right?
- 51:46Speaker 2: So I said, boy, I would love to take the
- 51:48Speaker 2: grand tour of your daughter. She was a thirty one
- 51:50Speaker 2: year old woman. So let's be honest here and reasonable
- 51:53Speaker 2: that it was entirely appropriate, at least was age appropriate.
- 51:55Speaker 2: I said, I'd love to take the grand tour of
- 51:57Speaker 2: her all sixty nine states, and he said around the world.
- 52:02Speaker 2: I said, yeah, as a matter of fact, Bobby, Yeah,
- 52:04Speaker 2: he said, that's all I needed to hear.
- 52:05Speaker 1: He had a toaster there, and.
- 52:07Speaker 2: I remember because we were making English muffins and we'd
- 52:10Speaker 2: just gotten up and was a buffet there in the hotel,
- 52:12Speaker 2: and he plugged the toaster in and he turned the
- 52:14Speaker 2: toaster on basically pushed that little push thing down right,
- 52:17Speaker 2: and he took my hand and jammed it into the
- 52:19Speaker 2: toaster until I could literally feel my flesh burning and searing,
- 52:24Speaker 2: and also there was a low level of electric shot
- 52:27Speaker 2: going through my hand. And he held my hand in
- 52:29Speaker 2: that toaster. Then he pulled my hand out of the
- 52:31Speaker 2: toaster after it had been cooked and seared third degree burns.
- 52:35Speaker 2: He began to just slather on butter, put on some
- 52:38Speaker 2: I believe was it the strawberry It was that delicious
- 52:42Speaker 2: strawberry jam, not the delicious matters. He put on the
- 52:44Speaker 2: delicious strawberry jam over that hand. Then he put it
- 52:48Speaker 2: between two pieces of the wonderbread too, just white I said, boy,
- 52:52Speaker 2: there's no nutrition in that, Bobby, he said, still making
- 52:54Speaker 2: the jokes. I said, I go down with the ships.
- 52:57Speaker 2: So he said, okay, great. So he lifted up my
- 52:59Speaker 2: hand with a two piece pieces of bread wrapped around it,
- 53:01Speaker 2: and he took a bite that severed the ends of
- 53:05Speaker 2: the two bigger fingers, so I lost both of those fingers.
- 53:08Speaker 2: He took a bite, and he chewed my fingers and
- 53:10Speaker 2: swallowed them. And then as he was staring me and
- 53:13Speaker 2: the blood coming out of his mouth, chewing on my fingers,
- 53:15Speaker 2: and I was looking at him with shock and.
- 53:17Speaker 1: Horror, he said, okay, perfect, And.
- 53:19Speaker 2: He was saying this through a full mouth because he's
- 53:20Speaker 2: chewing on my fingers and swelling. He says, okay, perfect,
- 53:22Speaker 2: You're in the perfect state of mind. This is exactly
- 53:24Speaker 2: what I need. And that's when he took two very
- 53:27Speaker 2: very large, heavy, look like shot puts, but I know
- 53:31Speaker 2: they couldn't have been shot puts, not the ball bearings.
- 53:33Speaker 2: That truck two ball bearings, and he slammed both of
- 53:36Speaker 2: them on both sides of my head until, as again
- 53:39Speaker 2: witnesses said, my head thinned, it narrowed, that's how hard
- 53:43Speaker 2: he slammed these two ball bearings cracking both sides of
- 53:46Speaker 2: my skull. Now again, this was about a year after
- 53:48Speaker 2: I'd had all of that skull surgery to put my
- 53:51Speaker 2: head back into as sort of the shape that it was.
- 53:53Speaker 2: It never really was put back into the proper shape
- 53:55Speaker 2: because it would throw people off, and this would throw
- 53:58Speaker 2: them off even more. After hem the to ball bearings
- 54:01Speaker 2: crushing my head, my eyes popped out and my tongue
- 54:04Speaker 2: came out. So you can imagine I'm walking around with
- 54:06Speaker 2: these two eyeballs hanging out in the tongue and I'm
- 54:08Speaker 2: going People screamed, They ran out of the they ran
- 54:13Speaker 2: out of the hotel. They were frightened to death. They
- 54:15Speaker 2: were they were peeing themselves.
- 54:16Speaker 1: It was something.
- 54:17Speaker 2: He's kind of a crazy, crazy, crazy crazy. Here's another
- 54:22Speaker 2: George Jones. This is called He Stopped Loving Her Today
- 54:24Speaker 2: Here at Ginge of Bell. This is the Ginge Bel
- 54:26Speaker 2: Country USA show. Yeah, the Ginge Bell here.
- 54:32Speaker 1: Hi, how are you doing.
- 54:33Speaker 2: I'm doing fine. You're telling stories about having your face
- 54:37Speaker 2: crushed and you're singing over top of it. I'm just
- 54:40Speaker 2: asking you if you would have the common courtesy they.
- 54:42Speaker 1: Shut up, just to shut up while we're hearing it.
- 54:45Speaker 1: Thanks so much for calling. Yeah, right, we half crazy.
- 54:52Speaker 2: George Jones right there and he stopped loving Today here
- 54:54Speaker 2: the ging of bell Country USA show. You know. I
- 54:57Speaker 2: went to George one day and I said, George, you
- 54:59Speaker 2: know the music that you're singing is good. I said,
- 55:01Speaker 2: it's not bad, it's good. It's for what it is,
- 55:04Speaker 2: it's good. And he said, well, who are you to
- 55:06Speaker 2: tell me that? I said, well, I'm a Jane of
- 55:08Speaker 2: Bell Country USA. He said, no, I know who you are,
- 55:10Speaker 2: but who are you to tell me something like that.
- 55:11Speaker 2: I said, well, a lot of the music that you sing,
- 55:12Speaker 2: George is sad. It might have a it might be
- 55:15Speaker 2: a product of your alcoholism, it might be a product
- 55:17Speaker 2: of whatever drug abuse that you're involved in. And he said,
- 55:20Speaker 2: who are you? How dare you say that? He was
- 55:22Speaker 2: getting very very young. I said, look at George, I'm
- 55:25Speaker 2: you and I have been friends a long time. He said, no,
- 55:26Speaker 2: we haven't been friends at all. He says, I just
- 55:28Speaker 2: met you. You're a disc jockey at a radio station.
- 55:30Speaker 1: I don't know you.
- 55:31Speaker 2: I pretend to be friends with you because I want
- 55:33Speaker 2: you to play my records, but I don't know you.
- 55:35Speaker 2: I wouldn't I don't care to know you, I said,
- 55:38Speaker 2: I said, George, there you go again. I said, listen,
- 55:40Speaker 2: the music you sing is so drag ass, so derivative.
- 55:43Speaker 2: It is so slow and so meaningless and so tedious.
- 55:46Speaker 2: I feel it's the product of you drinking heavily and
- 55:50Speaker 2: perhaps abusing prescription narcotics, you know. And he said, if
- 55:54Speaker 2: you say one more word to me, so help me God,
- 55:57Speaker 2: I'm going to stick your head under the the cover
- 56:01Speaker 2: of this baby grand piano and I'm gonna slam the
- 56:04Speaker 2: hood of that thing down on your skull.
- 56:06Speaker 1: Do you want that?
- 56:07Speaker 2: I said, George, you know as well as I do,
- 56:09Speaker 2: you wouldn't dare do anything like that. I'm Jean Jabelle.
- 56:11Speaker 2: I can make or break a punk like you because
- 56:14Speaker 2: of the music that I play. It makes her breaks
- 56:17Speaker 2: punks like you. Well, it turned out that George didn't.
- 56:20Speaker 1: Do it himself.
- 56:20Speaker 2: He nodded to a very tall man wearing all leather, sunglasses,
- 56:25Speaker 2: a black leather had a black jacket, the whole black
- 56:28Speaker 2: cowboy thing. And I said, oh, looks like who's this guy?
- 56:32Speaker 2: Man the man with no name? Or he said, wouldn't
- 56:35Speaker 2: you like to know? The guy literally grabbed me, folded
- 56:38Speaker 2: me over at the waist. He was so strong. I
- 56:41Speaker 2: felt like I was just a doll, just a rag doll.
- 56:43Speaker 2: I couldn't do anything to resist. I couldn't do anything
- 56:46Speaker 2: to help myself. He put my head near the you know,
- 56:48Speaker 2: the piano strings, and he slammed the hood of the
- 56:51Speaker 2: piano down on my head five times. I counted it.
- 56:54Speaker 2: I felt it, but more to the point I counted it.
- 56:57Speaker 2: It went one bang, two bang, three bang, And I
- 57:00Speaker 2: remember thinking, when will I stop counting? I stopped counting
- 57:03Speaker 2: at five. Now later on, what did you say, Jerry,
- 57:06Speaker 2: Well ten? I stopped counting at five. But the guys
- 57:09Speaker 2: swear up and down, they swear to christ all might
- 57:11Speaker 2: excuse my language, that he actually slammed that thing on
- 57:14Speaker 2: my head ten times.
- 57:15Speaker 1: But when I.
- 57:16Speaker 2: Pulled my head out from the from the piano, people
- 57:21Speaker 2: screamed and began running because my head had thinned again.
- 57:24Speaker 2: Now this was the second time in as many weeks
- 57:26Speaker 2: that I got my head slammed so hard that my
- 57:28Speaker 2: head was now shaped more what would you say, banana like?
- 57:33Speaker 2: My head was almost a banana shape because it had
- 57:36Speaker 2: been slammed in, and my tongue and my eyeballs again
- 57:40Speaker 2: sticking out. So imagine a man with a banana shaped
- 57:42Speaker 2: head walking around the ballroom of a major hotel, a
- 57:46Speaker 2: major disc jockey with a ponytail. Because why because I
- 57:50Speaker 2: was honest, Because I said to this man what needed
- 57:53Speaker 2: to be said. I said to him, George, your music drags, ass,
- 57:56Speaker 2: it's derivative. You're ripped off Chuck Berry's Johnny Begod with
- 58:00Speaker 2: white lightning. And he said to me, guess what, You're
- 58:03Speaker 2: gonna have a banana shaped head before the boat hits Venezuela. Hi,
- 58:07Speaker 2: Greig Morton's got something to say to you. Don't lean
- 58:09Speaker 2: on that horn, friend, Just say hello to the man
- 58:12Speaker 2: there the International Harvester.
- 58:14Speaker 1: Y'all.
- 58:15Speaker 2: I'm the son of a third generation fo farmer.
- 58:20Speaker 1: I've been mad ten years to the farmer's dog.
- 58:24Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, I'm a god fearing, hard working combine driver,
- 58:28Speaker 2: hugging up to roll them up a pup of flowers.
- 58:32Speaker 2: Everybody together now here this morning on the International Harvester.
- 58:37Speaker 1: I'll tell you what. I love that music so very
- 58:40Speaker 1: very much.
- 58:40Speaker 2: There with I was caught. Oh yeah, Craig Morton, their
- 58:42Speaker 2: International Harvester. Good morning, how you doing? Hey?
- 58:45Speaker 1: Good morning?
- 58:45Speaker 2: Gino stated musically. Yeah, I happen to witness what happened
- 58:49Speaker 2: between you and Craig Morton. You're gonna tell that story,
- 58:52Speaker 2: you better.
- 58:52Speaker 1: Be Craig Morgan, not Craig Morton, not the football player.
- 58:55Speaker 2: Oh you're right, Greg Morgan. Because I was there, well,
- 59:01Speaker 2: I was Tuxedo County, Tuxedo County, Tuxedo County, thank you
- 59:05Speaker 2: very much for recall this morning for years, Tuxedo County.
- 59:07Speaker 2: I was there and I was again hosting a charity event.
- 59:10Speaker 2: Craig Morton came there, and Craig was there with the
- 59:12Speaker 2: International Harvester people, and I had made a comment about
- 59:15Speaker 2: his wife. She was a very, very fancy looking and
- 59:18Speaker 2: good looking woman. It still is as a matter of fact.
- 59:21Speaker 2: I hope they're still married. I hope they're very happily married.
- 59:24Speaker 2: Or it might have been his girlfriend. I don't know,
- 59:25Speaker 2: but I made a comment about her backside. Now, I
- 59:27Speaker 2: know it's kind of rude you make a comment about
- 59:29Speaker 2: a woman's backside. It's one thing to make a comment
- 59:30Speaker 2: about a woman's breasts, but I made a comment about
- 59:33Speaker 2: a very I would say, prominent backside. And that's when
- 59:36Speaker 2: Craig said to me, would you like to go outside
- 59:39Speaker 2: and take a look at my sponsor and I said,
- 59:40Speaker 2: you mean the International Harvester people. He said, yeah, just
- 59:42Speaker 2: stand there now. He walked down about twenty yards. He
- 59:45Speaker 2: got into an International Harvester tractor and drove it straight
- 59:48Speaker 2: at me, and I started to run. I didn't know
- 59:50Speaker 2: what he was doing. I thought it was drunk. I
- 59:51Speaker 2: thought it was crazy. I ran, but he did catch
- 59:53Speaker 2: me with the bucket on that thing kind of like
- 59:55Speaker 2: a Bobcat bucket lifted me up and then dropped me.
- 59:58Speaker 2: I mean, he just let that hydraula go and dropped me.
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: And I hit the ground I'd say about thirty miles
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: an hour, and fell right on my backside. I started
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: to try to get up. I was woozy, and then
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: they brought the brought the bucket down on top of
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: my head. So it was one to two down, and
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: then the bucket came down to my head. He got
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: out of the International Harvester. He said, you got anything
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: else you want to say about my wife? And at
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: that time, or he said, girlfriend, I forget what it was.
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: You know what, Bobby, what it was? Well say what
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: it was? I mean what she was? I know, I
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: don't well, I'd said, well, if you want me to
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: say so. I said, she's got a great rear end.
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: I said she's got big ones up front. I said
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: she looked like she could take it off a trailer hitch,
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: a trailer hitch. I should say all the things you
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: would say in a golf ball through garden hose. I
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: said just about everything a man can say, not knowing
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: that Craig does not have the best sense of humor.
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: And that's when he went ahead and need me in
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: my testicles. You're kidding, no, not, no, he need me
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: in my testicles. Then he grabbed me again. He headlocked
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: me the same way Brooks and doesn't it. But he
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: did a very interesting thing. It was almost like Astler
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: move where he had me around the neck and he
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: also had the top of my head and he did
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: one of those atomic slams. He went up in the air.
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: Excuse me, excuse me, I'm coughing.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: A little bit.
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: I hope a lot of you folks out there this morning,
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: of course, are gonna be driving carefully because we know
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: with all this congestion you're gonna have a really bad air.
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: But anyway, I'm gonna get back to the music here.
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: I just want to say did an atomic slam. He
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: went down, landed on his butt, but at the same
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: time he had his knee right under my testicles, under
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: the scrotum.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: And excuse me as we went down.
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: As we went down, and the knee drove right clean
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: up into the scrotum.
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: So it did it hurt? You better believe it.
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: Hi, everybody, this is jean Ja Belle and I am
