#604: The Lie We Were Told About Success: An Episode For Every Woman
In this episode, I get into what I really think is underneath all of this (and it's not ambition). For a lot of us, what we've been calling ambition is actually survival. From the time we were little girls, being good, capable, productive, and useful got rewarded. And eventually our nervous systems wired achievement to safety. If I perform, I'm safe. If I'm useful, I'm loved.
That's not a personality trait. That's a nervous system pattern. And it explains why slowing down can feel absolutely terrifying even when your body is begging for rest.
