Latest / Limitless Living with Fredricka Davis / 094: Red Light Therapy: What It Can Do for Your Skin, Body, and Hair
Transcript
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: Wrinkles, thinning hair, achy joints, muscles that seem to take longer to recover than they used to, they all have a lot in common.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: And there's a whole bunch of reasons they can have a lot in common.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: But today I want to talk about light therapy and how it's being used to help each and every one of them.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: And if you've been seeing all the red light masks and the panels everywhere lately and on social media, and you're thinking to yourself, okay, is this another trend or does this actually do something?
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: Should I be looking at this, trying this?
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: What do I really need this for?
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: That's what I'm gonna talk about.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: We've been using light therapy at Massage Wellness and Beyond for about 20 years now.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: So when I see it suddenly becoming this exciting new thing and it's everywhere that you look, I really kind of have to smile a little bit because we've been talking about it, using it, and recommending it for a very long time.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: I use it myself every week.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: We use it for targeted muscle and joints comfort.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: We offer full body sessions and we carry even the caps for hair growth.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: So today, what I'm gonna do is explain all those uses, what the different lights do, and how you might incorporate them into your own care.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: I get these questions a lot.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: So welcome back to the Limitless Living Podcast.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: I'm Frederica Davis, your host, and this is a wellness reset Thursday episode.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: And one quick note before we get into it this conversation is, of course, for information and education, not a replacement for medical diagnosis or care.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: Of course, your health history, medications, and the equipment being used all matter when choosing a treatment.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: Now, that said, let's talk about these lights.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: The research behind what we now call photobiomodulation.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: That is a mouthful, isn't it?
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: It's a big word for using particular wavelengths of light to influence activity in living tissue.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: And after that, even NASA researchers were working with LEDs to grow plants in space.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: They needed lighting that was efficient and practical for that environment.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: And that work led to further research into using LEDs for human tissue, including wound healing and recovery.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: So there is a NASA connection with this, but the research actually began well before that.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: What really interested researchers was learning that light could do more than just illuminate something.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: Certain wavelengths could actually affect biological activity.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: So here's the everyday explanation for this.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: Inside your cells, you have mitochondria.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: You probably have heard about them, even if it was back in high school.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: These are the energy-producing centers of your cells.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: We are all made up of energy.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: Red and near infrared light can influence the processes involved in cellular energy and signaling.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: So depending on the treatment, that can support things like tissue repair, collagen production, and the way that your body responds to inflammation.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: Now, you don't need to remember all of this terminology, I promise.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: I'm going to put all this in plain English for you.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: The important thing here is to know that light has a real purpose.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: We choose the equipment and settings according to what we're trying to accomplish.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: And I want to tell you, when professional light therapy began getting more attention in skincare, and I kept seeing it pop up at our conferences, I did not immediately buy the first device I saw.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: I watched it and researched and researched and researched some more, and then I tested it.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: It was probably five or six years into watching it develop and become available to those of us in the industry before I really felt convinced enough to bring it into MWB.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: I wanted to understand what we were investing in and what it could really offer or not offer our clients.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: So we started using it for the face.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: And over the years, we've expanded how we use light for the body as well.
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: That's one reason I wanted to do this episode.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: You might know we offer facial LED and have no idea we also work with a sore shoulder.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: Or maybe you've heard about full body red light, but never thought about light therapy for your thinning hair at home.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: Or maybe you're looking at all the devices online, not sure whether you should buy one or not.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: Let's start with the face, because that's where many people first encounter the light therapy.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: You have likely noticed your skin looking a little thinner or a little less firm.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: Let's face it, ladies, if we're over 40, 50, and beyond, we start noticing these things.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: Fine lines start happening, and before we know it, they become a little bit more obvious.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: And your skin just doesn't seem to have that luster and that plumpness that it used to.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: It's not as smooth, it doesn't have the glow.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: As we get older, collagen production slows.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: And collagen is part of the structure that helps your skin maintain its support and its plumpness.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: Red light treatments can help stimulate the process that's involved in collagen production.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: This is one of the reasons we use it for skin rejuvenation and in many of our treatments.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: Over a series of treatments, what that can mean for you is improvements in the appearance of your fine lines, your texture, overall skin quality or sensitivity.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: And I really like that we can offer this without any needles.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: I love that this is non-invasive, but still effective.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: And you don't have to wait until you feel like your skin needs a major intervention.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: This is something that can be part of an ongoing skincare routine at any time.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: Now, if you're looking at yourself every morning and expecting this dramatic overnight change, you will probably get a little frustrated because skin never reacts that way.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: Skin changes take time.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: Consistency matters for this, just like it does with skincare.
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: Think about the difference between taking care of your skin regularly and having one facial once in a while before an important event.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: Both will have value, but when you have consistency, that is where you will get the biggest results.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: Light therapy is beneficial anytime, but it works the best when it's incorporated into a plant.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: At MWB, you can book facial light therapy on its own.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: And if you don't live by us, that's okay.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: You, I'm sure you can find a local business that can do that for you.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: That's useful if you want to give your skin some attention, but don't want a complete facial that day.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: Or if you're doing this proactively in a series and with a purpose.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: And for us at MWB, it's also included in our proactive hydroderm abrasion facial, our red carpet hydroderm abrasion facial, and our LePapillon advanced facials.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: Those facials all combine different techniques where we are caring for the skin in several ways.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: Light therapy is one part of the experience.
- 7:17SPEAKER_00: Now, if you're wondering which facial makes sense for you, just tell us what you're noticing, whether your skin is feeling dry or you're breaking out, or you've got redness, or you have more lines than you're used to, or you're looking tired, whatever it is.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: And that gives us a much better starting point.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: We can help figure out which one is better for you.
- 7:34SPEAKER_00: What about acne?
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: This is where blue light often comes into the conversation.
- 7:38SPEAKER_00: Certain blue wavelengths target bacteria involved in acne.
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: Red light might be included at the same time because it helps support the skin and it addresses the inflammatory side of your breakout.
- 7:50SPEAKER_00: So if you see different lights being used during a treatment, there will be a reason for that.
- 7:55SPEAKER_00: Red, blue, and near infrared, red, blue, and near infrared aren't just different colors that are chosen to make the room look pretty.
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: They actually have different purposes.
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: Blue is commonly used in acne protocols.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: Red is widely used for skin rejuvenation and repair, tissue repair and related processes and inflammation.
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: Near infrared reaches more deeply into tissues and is often part of the treatments for muscle and joint discomfort.
- 8:25SPEAKER_00: You can see red and blue, but you can't see the near infrared, even though the device might be delivering it.
- 8:31SPEAKER_00: Our Soluma Pro and Pro Plus equipment uses combinations of these wavelengths according to the treatment program.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: And because acne varies, it's important to choose the approach based on what's happening with your skin.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: Someone with occasional surface breakouts may need a different from someone who has persistent deep cystic acne.
- 8:53SPEAKER_00: You might also hear about amber or yellow light.
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: It's another part of the broader light therapy field.
- 9:00SPEAKER_00: I'm mentioning it because people see all these colors advertised and wonder whether they need every one of them.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: I mean, I've seen devices that have nine colors in the spectrum.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: Here's the thing you don't need to collect all the light colors.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: You need a treatment that fits what your concern is.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: For most of what I'm going to discuss today, we're going to focus on red, neuroinfrared, and blue.
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: What about redness, rosacea, or irritated looking skin?
- 9:30SPEAKER_00: This is where we want to understand what's causing the redness and what your skin can tolerate.
- 9:34SPEAKER_00: In our experience, most people find LED sessions calming and they notice that their skin looks less irritated.
- 9:41SPEAKER_00: With sensitive skin and rosacea, we also pay extra attention to the warmth and anything that tends to trigger a flare.
- 9:48SPEAKER_00: The goal here is to choose something your skin responds to comfortably.
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: I have psoriasis, and for me, red light can really help calm how it feels.
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: Has it reversed the condition?
- 10:01SPEAKER_00: No.
- 10:01SPEAKER_00: But does it calm the condition down and help reduce the inflammation, the redness, the pain, and the tingling?
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: And I can really appreciate that.
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: So I do it regularly.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: When you live with an ongoing condition like I do, you really understand why even a little improvement in your comfort can matter so much.
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: Which brings me to the body.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: This is the part I think a lot of people still don't really know about.
- 10:31SPEAKER_00: Red light is not only a skincare service.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: Red and near infrared treatments are also being used for muscle and joint discomfort, stiffness, and recovery.
- 10:42SPEAKER_00: So maybe you have shoulders that feel tight after hours at the computer, or your knees are stiff when you get up or you do steps, or you've exercised and you've worked hard in the yard, or maybe you've spent the whole day on your feet and your muscles are letting you really know about it.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: Or you're a lifter and you've pushed really hard, but you're not recovering as well as you want to, or you want to speed that recovering.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: Light therapy can be one way to support the recovery and your comfort.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: There are targeted treatments where we can position the equipment over a specific area.
- 11:17SPEAKER_00: And then there's full body sessions as well.
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: So those give us different ways to work with whatever it is that your body needs.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: Our flexible panels, they can be positioned around an area such as a shoulder or a knee.
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: And you can just settle in.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: We select the program that's appropriate for you.
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: And then the light is just delivered to that area.
- 11:37SPEAKER_00: But full body red light, this allows you to actually lie down, take a nap if you want, and have all of you exposed during the session.
- 11:46SPEAKER_00: And for somebody who spends a lot of time pushing through discomfort, simply giving yourself that quiet, that supported appointment, that unto itself can be a real welcome change to your body.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: Here's how all of this fits into my own life to give you an example of how this can look.
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: I live with autoimmune conditions and psoriatic arthritis.
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: There are times when my body is really uncomfortable or stiff or simply much less cooperative than I would like it to be.
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: Red light is something that I use every week as part of managing that.
- 12:21SPEAKER_00: It's not the only thing.
- 12:23SPEAKER_00: It's not a cure, but it's part of how I manage it without drugs thus far.
- 12:29SPEAKER_00: And even in my crazy wonderful busy schedule, I choose to make time for this because I really notice a benefit.
- 12:42SPEAKER_00: But I'm using it because it helps me with how I feel.
- 12:46SPEAKER_00: And that's really important in my everyday life.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: You know, when you're dealing with something that makes you feel uncomfortable and it's ongoing, all you want to do is find something that makes you comfortable.
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: Being able to move better throughout the day or with a little less pain, a little less itch for me.
- 13:09SPEAKER_00: It can be itch, it can be pins and needles pain, it can be aching pain.
- 13:13SPEAKER_00: There's all sorts of things that can come with what I have.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: So for me, anything that makes that better makes me very happy.
- 13:20SPEAKER_00: So we have clients that come in for this without fail because they also notice that they have improvements like less stiffness and feeling more comfortable after they have these sessions.
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: So some live with arthritis or fibromyalgia, and others come because it's more of a muscle tension or a soreness and they want better recovery.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: Those are the experiences that we hear all the time and we pay attention to those.
- 13:45SPEAKER_00: So I know that this is working, not just for me.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: And we're always asking, what did you notice?
- 13:52SPEAKER_00: How did you feel later?
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: Is it helping enough that you feel like you're getting ongoing benefit?
- 13:58SPEAKER_00: And the conversation that we have with everybody that really helps us know what these services are doing.
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: And that's what I wanted to share with you today.
- 14:06SPEAKER_00: Now, here's something practical from one of our recent blog posts.
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: You don't always need to schedule an entire separate visit for something.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: When you come to see us at MWB, you can actually do the full body red light as a standalone appointment, or you can pair it with something else.
- 14:23SPEAKER_00: For instance, a lot of people like to pair it with a half hour of head, neck, and shoulder massage because if those places are problem areas for you and you're holding tension, that is really relaxing.
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: It's really productive, and you're getting the full body red light at the same time.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: It's also often combined with aromatherapy, scalp massage, reflexology, or a skin treatment.
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: Now, of course, we can help you figure out what the best thing for you is.
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: And again, if you are not local to MWB, find a place that's local to you and just work with them, talk to them, find out what the best scenario for you is.
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: If you're already making time to come in, though, it's worth asking what could fit into that appointment.
- 15:03SPEAKER_00: And if you only want the red light session, that's fine too, because sometimes you're going to want the full experience and sometimes you're going to want to just come in, lie down, get the light treatment, and get on with your day.
- 15:13SPEAKER_00: Let's talk about hair, hair growth, scalp.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: This is another area that people don't necessarily connect with light therapy.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: Maybe you're noticing more scalp along your part, or your ponytail feels smaller, and there seems to be more hair in your brush, or maybe your scalp is getting more sensitive.
- 15:30SPEAKER_00: Or for me, with psoriasis, maybe you've got psoriasis on your scalp.
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: All of these things can really bother you.
- 15:37SPEAKER_00: And for women in midlife, hair changes with the hormonal changes, they can feel like one more thing happening to a body that's already just not cooperative.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: And there are certain low-level light devices that have been definitely shown to improve hair density in people with this kind of pattern hair loss.
- 15:55SPEAKER_00: The light actually works with your functioning follicles and can help support activity in the hair growth cycle.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: That means we're talking about a routine over time, not a quick fix.
- 16:06SPEAKER_00: Hair grows really slowly.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: You're looking at months of consistency rather than putting on a cap twice and inspecting your part for some brand new hair growth.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: One reason the caps are so useful is they're convenient.
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: So convenient.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: And you can use the device at home, which makes it so much easier to maintain the routine.
- 16:25SPEAKER_00: We carry the red light caps at MWB and they're super simple to use.
- 16:29SPEAKER_00: Now we also carry Root Vital G HKU.
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: This is a peptide hair growth serum, and it's a topical scalp care product.
- 16:40SPEAKER_00: I use this myself and I use the red light.
- 16:44SPEAKER_00: And I can tell you firsthand, since I've been using the Root Vital along with the cap, and I've been using it for about six months now.
- 16:51SPEAKER_00: I am seeing new growth that I did not have.
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: I'm also seeing that my psoriasis on my scalp is not quite as sensitive.
- 17:00SPEAKER_00: My scalp is not quite as sensitive, and it's not quite as potentially red.
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: So I'm getting multiple benefits from doing this.
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: Now, the cap gives me the light treatment, and then the serum gives me the scalp care approach.
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: The two are very different, but work, they work really well together.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: So if you're wondering whether this is something that you should explore, just tell us, give us a call.
- 17:26SPEAKER_00: We can always ship it out too if you're not local and you're listening to this, or if you want to explore this, we can point you to somebody who's local to you.
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: Now I will say with sudden or unexplained hair loss, finding out what the cause is first has value, whether it's hormones, illness, stress, nutrient deficiencies, GLP1 users are commonly, we find this commonly malnourished because you don't want to eat, you're not eating enough.
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: Or when you do eat, maybe you're still not eating quite the right things and you're just not getting enough nutrition.
- 17:57SPEAKER_00: This can have an effect on your hair growth.
- 18:00SPEAKER_00: So these are all things we talk about when we do our wellness consults.
- 18:04SPEAKER_00: And if you need something like this, we can help you with this over Zoom, or you can join one of our whole woman wellness reset programs.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: Now, once you understand all of this and what you're working with, it's a whole lot easier to develop your plan.
- 18:19SPEAKER_00: And red light can be part of that.
- 18:22SPEAKER_00: The serum can be part of that.
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: So, what does a session of light therapy actually feel like?
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: Usually it feels like it's pretty darned uneventful.
- 18:31SPEAKER_00: And I mean that in the very best of ways.
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: Let's say you're getting a full body red light session or light therapy session.
- 18:37SPEAKER_00: You come in, you get comfortable, we prepare the area, we position the equipment, put on your eye protection, and you lie down and it begins.
- 18:47SPEAKER_00: It's pretty much that simple.
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: For a facial, that generally means that you've already gone through uh the cleansing and your skin's been prepared and you've had exfoliation or whatever steps are involved in the facial you choose, and red light is part of that.
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: You'll notice brightness when the light is over you, and you might feel a mild warmth.
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: It's usually very soothing and comforting, actually.
- 19:13SPEAKER_00: You will not be gritting your teeth through it.
- 19:15SPEAKER_00: If you're claustrophobic, though, I will tell you that's something to think about.
- 19:19SPEAKER_00: It's not an enclosed device, it's actually quite open, but having your eyes covered with goggles and having a device over your head, even though it's not enclosing anything, can feel like that.
- 19:31SPEAKER_00: So if that's a something you're concerned about, let us know.
- 19:34SPEAKER_00: We have other options to deliver the light therapy other than the red light panel.
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: We can do a manual application.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: So there's always customizations.
- 19:45SPEAKER_00: So there's always a way to customize for your needs.
- 19:47SPEAKER_00: Now, most people just use the time that they're under the light to feel like they're on the beach and basking under the sun and enjoying themselves because you're warm, you have a little light over top of you, your eyes are covered, and it just is soothing, whether you're having it done alone or with another service as part of a visit.
- 20:06SPEAKER_00: There's something just so nice about an appointment where you can simply slow down, be still, and rest.
- 20:16SPEAKER_00: You don't have to do anything, you don't have to perform, you don't have to figure anything out, and that's it.
- 20:21SPEAKER_00: It's very, very simple.
- 20:22SPEAKER_00: I know this is not the same as infrared sauna.
- 20:27SPEAKER_00: A sauna is primarily a heat experience where it warms the body.
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: With red light therapy, we're delivering particular wavelengths for their effects on specific tissues.
- 20:40SPEAKER_00: You don't have to work up a sweat for the light like you would in a sauna experience.
- 20:45SPEAKER_00: We do offer the infrared sauna services as well, but they are different experiences.
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: So if you're unsure which one you want, feel free to ask and we can always explain the difference.
- 20:56SPEAKER_00: A couple of practical things before your first appointment.
- 21:01SPEAKER_00: Wherever you are going to experience this, tell us or tell them about any medications you're on, any health conditions you have, any light sensitivity, any claustrophobia, and any recent skin procedures to make sure it's suitable for you.
- 21:17SPEAKER_00: Then ask how long to allow and whether there's something you should do beforehand.
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 21:23SPEAKER_00: Pretty simple.
- 21:24SPEAKER_00: Now, the other question we get a lot is how often should I do this?
- 21:29SPEAKER_00: That really depends on what you're working on and the equipment that's being used.
- 21:35SPEAKER_00: A plan for a facial rejuvenation might be different from a plan for a sore shoulder or an at-home hair cap.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: The time that it's on, the frequency, those can all vary.
- 21:47SPEAKER_00: Many of the benefits studied with the light therapy involve many of the benefits, though, with the light therapy do involve repeated sessions over several weeks.
- 21:58SPEAKER_00: I use red light therapy weekly as part of my ongoing routine.
- 22:03SPEAKER_00: And again, it helps with my inflammation, my joint pain.
- 22:06SPEAKER_00: It helps me recover as I'm exercising and it helps me settle and it reduces stress too, because I am there doing nothing but a little bit of self-care, which helps with nervous system regulation and indirectly helps with autoimmune because stress is a trigger for autoimmune.
- 22:24SPEAKER_00: So I could go on and on.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: So that's how I use it.
- 22:26SPEAKER_00: We, of course, explain all the recommendations based on your needs.
- 22:31SPEAKER_00: Now, here's how I'd think about where to begin.
- 22:33SPEAKER_00: What's the concern you want help with most?
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: If it's your skin, are you interested in improving the texture and the fine lines?
- 22:39SPEAKER_00: Or is it breakouts?
- 22:41SPEAKER_00: Or is it a skincare experience that incorporates several different approaches to be more proactive?
- 22:48SPEAKER_00: If it's your body, is there one particular area that's bothering you?
- 22:52SPEAKER_00: Or are you interested in just a full body session?
- 22:55SPEAKER_00: Are you more interested in relief, regeneration, inflammation control, or longevity practices?
- 23:04SPEAKER_00: If it's your hair, would a consistent at-home routine be something practical for you?
- 23:09SPEAKER_00: Would you do it?
- 23:10SPEAKER_00: Start with that.
- 23:11SPEAKER_00: You don't need to book everything we've discussed today.
- 23:16SPEAKER_00: You don't just start with that.
- 23:18SPEAKER_00: Choose the thing that's relevant to you and let us help you understand the options.
- 23:24SPEAKER_00: And if you're going to try an at-home device, I recommend going with a very reputable brand.
- 23:31SPEAKER_00: We use Soluma.
- 23:34SPEAKER_00: And the reason is not all devices are created equal.
- 23:39SPEAKER_00: A lot of times the wavelengths aren't what you think they are.
- 23:43SPEAKER_00: So you want to do a little homework on that.
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: So for this week's reset, I'd like you to just pay attention to something that maybe you've been putting up with in your skin, your body, whatever it is.
- 23:52SPEAKER_00: It could be that you notice you're rubbing the same shoulder over and over again, it feels a little tight, or maybe it's that your skin needs a little attention, but you've been putting it off for months, or you're worried about your hair and you're not quite sure what to do and you haven't asked anyone about it, whatever it is.
- 24:08SPEAKER_00: If light therapy is something you want to explore, we're happy to talk to you.
- 24:12SPEAKER_00: You can always reach out and email us too with any questions, even if you're not local to us.
- 24:18SPEAKER_00: I'll leave the email, the website, all of that, the phone number in the show notes.
- 24:23SPEAKER_00: And you can always call us at Massage Wellness and Beyond at 215-292-1144 or visit our website, Massage Wellnessandbeyond.com.
- 24:33SPEAKER_00: Email us at book at massagewellnessandbeyond.com.
- 24:36SPEAKER_00: I will put those in the show notes.
- 24:38SPEAKER_00: And there is a coordinating blog post to go with this.
- 24:41SPEAKER_00: If you would like to read more, I'll put that link in the show notes as well.
- 24:44SPEAKER_00: And if you're already using Red Light, I'd love to hear about your experience in our free Facebook group.
- 24:50SPEAKER_00: It's called Limitless Living for Women Who Are Becoming.
- 24:53SPEAKER_00: What have you used it for?
- 24:55SPEAKER_00: What have you noticed?
- 24:56SPEAKER_00: What would you still like to know about it?
- 24:59SPEAKER_00: We've had this technology at Massage Wellness and Beyond for years.
- 25:03SPEAKER_00: And it's been used in all sorts of professional settings.
- 25:06SPEAKER_00: And it's one of the technologies I genuinely still love.
- 25:09SPEAKER_00: We have clients who come in thinking they want it for wrinkles, and then often they're winding up getting it for shoulders because they feel better that way.
- 25:16SPEAKER_00: And it's just been a wonderful technology that we've brought in.
- 25:18SPEAKER_00: That's why I wanted to have this conversation today.
- 25:21SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much for spending this time with me.
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: If someone came to mind while you were listening, please share the episode with them.
- 25:26SPEAKER_00: If you have not given us a rating or review or liked and subscribed, please do so.
- 25:32SPEAKER_00: Really means the world to us and it helps other people find the show.
- 25:35SPEAKER_00: Until next time, be rooted, be resilient, and be limitless.
