- 0:00Speaker 1: Hello, gorgeous. It's Lala Kent. Welcome to untraditionally, Lala, Hello, gorgeous,
- 0:07Speaker 1: Welcome back to untraditionally, Lala. I have my rider die
- 0:10Speaker 1: here Easton Birmingham.
- 0:15Speaker 2: I'm here.
- 0:16Speaker 1: So it is shocking how many people wrote in to
- 0:22Speaker 1: be like, I'm trying to kick the vape too. Everywhere
- 0:25Speaker 1: I looked, someone was like in their car vaping and
- 0:28Speaker 1: I was like, oh my god, that looks so freaking good.
- 0:32Speaker 1: After a meal Eastan, I would look at each other
- 0:34Speaker 1: and I'm like, what I would give, What I would
- 0:36Speaker 1: fucking give to just smack the shit out of that.
- 0:39Speaker 2: I'm weird. I like eating like all stuff my face.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Yeah, and I'll sit back, hit the vape and I'll
- 0:46Speaker 3: dive back into that meal.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Baby, Oh yeah, dive straight back and look at mom.
- 0:52Speaker 2: I think it's nauseating.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Tried it. I'm like Chandler, Chandler being on front when
- 1:01Speaker 1: Rachel starts smoking and she's like, I actually feel like
- 1:05Speaker 1: I could throw up, and he's like, but you gotta
- 1:08Speaker 1: gotta push past that. It's about to get so good.
- 1:11Speaker 1: And then they're talking about how discussing songing is he goes, yeah,
- 1:14Speaker 1: it is the best and I'm like, I relate. I relate,
- 1:18Speaker 1: and guess.
- 1:18Speaker 2: What, I also relate because he went five years. I
- 1:21Speaker 2: made it five days.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Okay, so back to that we this is my reward.
- 1:28Speaker 1: It has not gone well, Ethan. Let's talk about your
- 1:30Speaker 1: moment of caving back to the wape. How many we
- 1:33Speaker 1: went a week? We went a week. I went a
- 1:36Speaker 1: little more than a week.
- 1:37Speaker 3: And I'm proud of you for that. Oh my god,
- 1:40Speaker 3: there's so many things just traveling back to this little
- 1:42Speaker 3: old mind of what is it?
- 1:45Speaker 2: I don't even know.
- 1:46Speaker 3: It's like I was. I was never content. But when
- 1:51Speaker 3: everybody this is the fucking thing. I hate when people
- 1:53Speaker 3: are like it's hard. I know it's struggling, but you
- 1:55Speaker 3: can get through it because you're sipping your mocktail or
- 1:58Speaker 3: your cocktail.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like, fuck you.
- 2:00Speaker 1: We have we have a friend who, by the way,
- 2:05Speaker 1: calls us buzzed while he's smoking a cigarette, telling us
- 2:11Speaker 1: that we can do it, we can give up the bape.
- 2:13Speaker 2: I was like, if I.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Could come through the phone and you punch you in
- 2:17Speaker 1: your throat so you cannot speak anymore, I would I'd
- 2:20Speaker 1: punch you with two fists. Easton's very new in his
- 2:24Speaker 1: sobriety journey, and there was a moment where he was like,
- 2:27Speaker 1: I'm tweaking out.
- 2:28Speaker 2: I need some good.
- 2:30Speaker 1: So he went and bought one. But the day that
- 2:33Speaker 1: he bought it, he was like really down, you remember mom,
- 2:35Speaker 1: And he had like called his sponsor and he talked.
- 2:38Speaker 2: To him as down for good two days, three days.
- 2:41Speaker 4: I was not you know what, I would much rather
- 2:44Speaker 4: have you smoking a vabe than relaps that time.
- 2:47Speaker 1: I just cannot deal. I cannot deal with a fifth relapse.
- 2:50Speaker 2: No, but this is your journey.
- 2:52Speaker 1: And I'm here to support you through the thick and
- 2:54Speaker 1: the thin.
- 2:55Speaker 2: There it is, Here's what kept me from a relapse.
- 2:58Speaker 1: But Easton, he kept saying that like going out and
- 3:01Speaker 1: buying the vape, he felt like he had relapsed.
- 3:05Speaker 3: And I was on, I mean, I don't, I I
- 3:10Speaker 3: don't I like sharing. I like was a speaker at
- 3:13Speaker 3: a meeting in you know, our program. Yeah, and I
- 3:17Speaker 3: told a lot of people that like that I felt
- 3:20Speaker 3: like I relapsed. And I can't tell you how many
- 3:22Speaker 3: people were like I felt the exact same way. Really yeah,
- 3:25Speaker 3: because you know, you're it's all in the same You
- 3:28Speaker 3: gave up drinking, you gave up smoking, you gave up whatever,
- 3:31Speaker 3: gone another unhealthy. Yeah, you don't have advice, and now
- 3:36Speaker 3: you give it up, and like you feel like you're
- 3:38Speaker 3: doing these things and it's like, you know, you have
- 3:40Speaker 3: pink cloud moments of like okay, I gave up the vape.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Now I'm doing it, and then when you hit it,
- 3:44Speaker 3: you're like everything that you just worked for feels like
- 3:47Speaker 3: it went down the tube.
- 3:49Speaker 1: And I can completely understand.
- 3:50Speaker 2: I had to call multiple people.
- 3:52Speaker 3: I had to call my sponsor and I was like,
- 3:53Speaker 3: I feel like I relapsed, and everybody the meeting is
- 3:56Speaker 3: what made me feel good. They were like, now this
- 3:58Speaker 3: is you know, this is what we're this is what
- 4:00Speaker 3: we're in here for, and we gave up the things
- 4:03Speaker 3: that alter us and this does not alter you.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Now. I was like, okay, that's okay, mom, come a
- 4:15Speaker 1: fucking joy. It makes me need to hit the vabe.
- 4:19Speaker 2: I know, and then she I just that's why I
- 4:21Speaker 2: also feel bad. I just like it.
- 4:22Speaker 3: I'm like, it's either a cocktail or this vape and
- 4:25Speaker 3: then I hit it and Least says over there, it's.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Like, fuck, let me live. I can't condon. I'm your
- 4:31Speaker 2: mother and I don't want you. No, no, no, no, no, no,
- 4:35Speaker 2: I don't.
- 4:36Speaker 1: I don't want you to condonate. I want you to
- 4:38Speaker 1: point out all the horrific things because guess what, you guys,
- 4:41Speaker 1: I am going to have to give it up. Like
- 4:44Speaker 1: I'm having surgery in a little over a month, Like
- 4:47Speaker 1: it has to be done on top of I know
- 4:49Speaker 1: what it's doing to my body. I have two little
- 4:52Speaker 1: girls that I need to be around for. That's important
- 4:54Speaker 1: to me. Okay, hear me out, because I know everyone's
- 4:59Speaker 1: gonna think I'm insane. I got sober and it was
- 5:04Speaker 1: pretty much I woke up and said I was not
- 5:07Speaker 1: going to live this way anymore. And that is when
- 5:10Speaker 1: the vaping started. I didn't go buy one, but I
- 5:13Speaker 1: was hitting other peoples and it was happening long enough
- 5:17Speaker 1: to where I in moments of stress or I would
- 5:20Speaker 1: need to go out, and the people I was going
- 5:22Speaker 1: out with weren't drinking. And I was very heavy in
- 5:24Speaker 1: the entertainment. Like now I'm more of a homebody and
- 5:27Speaker 1: now it's a full on addiction. But back then it
- 5:30Speaker 1: was like We're going to can for a film festival
- 5:34Speaker 1: or whatever it may be, and I'm like that is triggering.
- 5:37Speaker 1: People are drinking. There's social lubricant happening. I need something.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Then I get pregnant. Because someone pointed this out in
- 5:44Speaker 1: the comments section, you quit for nine months and then
- 5:46Speaker 1: you breastbud. Yes, I did quit for nine months with
- 5:49Speaker 1: Sosa well before that, because I knew that I was
- 5:54Speaker 1: having to prep my body for it, right, so I
- 5:56Speaker 1: gave it up. There was something very big on the
- 5:58Speaker 1: line that you can't be vaping for and then breastfeeding,
- 6:03Speaker 1: and why I then go back to doing it is
- 6:07Speaker 1: because it's an addiction. And I said to someone in
- 6:09Speaker 1: one of my meetings, I was like, I'm gonna give
- 6:11Speaker 1: it up because I can. This was a very long
- 6:13Speaker 1: time ago. If I can quit drinking, I can quit vaping.
- 6:16Speaker 1: And she goes, well, have you ever given up heroin?
- 6:18Speaker 1: And I go no, and she goes, that's it's the equivalent.
- 6:21Speaker 1: I was like, oh my god, so yes, I want
- 6:27Speaker 1: to give it up. And I'm seven years into my sobriety.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Easton is relatively news. We have to keep him where
- 6:35Speaker 1: he is for me. Easton had a friend come over
- 6:38Speaker 1: the other night. Her name's Dina, Little Dina shout out,
- 6:41Speaker 1: and she brought me this little like anti vaping device
- 6:45Speaker 1: which I'm going to have to implement. I'm going to
- 6:49Speaker 1: San Francisco this weekend. I don't think I can be
- 6:53Speaker 1: without it. I'll be the vape, just letting you know. Mom.
- 6:59Speaker 1: I can see her face shift. Her energy is undeniable
- 7:03Speaker 1: right now, it's suffocating. Worry about you, guys, I worry
- 7:06Speaker 1: about me too. I worry about me too. After that,
- 7:10Speaker 1: I come home Easton. You gotta hide that ship from me,
- 7:13Speaker 1: and you can. If I say, let me have a
- 7:15Speaker 1: smacky smack, which is what I do every morning, let
- 7:18Speaker 1: me have a shmacky smack. You have to deny me
- 7:20Speaker 1: of that. I will and after this, because even when
- 7:24Speaker 1: I got pregnant, you guys, I was like, oh the
- 7:27Speaker 1: moment I dropped this kid and I'm done with her
- 7:29Speaker 1: on the boom, I'm fucking smacking a shit out of
- 7:31Speaker 1: that stuff. Seriously, I know this round, this round, I'm
- 7:35Speaker 1: telling you what it is going to be a we
- 7:39Speaker 1: are giving up the vape and there is no timeline
- 7:42Speaker 1: happening where you get through recovery of the boobs and
- 7:45Speaker 1: you get to hit it. No, it's gone, it's done.
- 7:49Speaker 1: It has to be done well.
- 7:51Speaker 4: If my dad, your grandfather, look for fifty some odd
- 7:56Speaker 4: years and give it up cold turkey with hard candies.
- 8:00Speaker 2: I think anybody can.
- 8:01Speaker 1: I finished a pound a pound of popcorn flavored jelly
- 8:07Speaker 1: bellies in less than thirty six hours, chewing it the
- 8:15Speaker 1: whole thing. It's just where. We'll do what we have
- 8:17Speaker 1: to do. I may gain a little weight, which is fine.
- 8:21Speaker 1: I'm trying to get a fat ass.
- 8:23Speaker 2: I'm gonna just hit this verbe.
- 8:25Speaker 1: The fattest of asses. I'm gonna walk in looking like
- 8:29Speaker 1: moving party. B apologies, Okay, I'm gonna have like twelve
- 8:35Speaker 1: boyfriends moving on. People have asked me, how's the vave going?
- 8:40Speaker 2: It's going great?
- 8:41Speaker 1: You know what I say, Drenda Medley. Not well, bitch,
- 8:45Speaker 1: it's going well. What are you thinking? Mom?
- 8:58Speaker 2: I know I feel like I'm just.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Judge, judging.
- 9:02Speaker 2: I'm not judging at all.
- 9:03Speaker 1: I'm thirty five years old, you guys, and have to
- 9:06Speaker 1: hide my vaping from my mother.
- 9:08Speaker 2: We don't do a very good job.
- 9:10Speaker 1: It's because I finally give up. I'm like, I can't,
- 9:12Speaker 1: I'm tweaking, and she knows I'm going to Easton's black
- 9:15Speaker 1: House way too much.
- 9:16Speaker 3: I know, did we even tell that story? When I
- 9:18Speaker 3: found the vape? In my bag and Mom walked into
- 9:20Speaker 3: the room.
- 9:21Speaker 1: No, but that's so funny.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Oh, we were in it.
- 9:24Speaker 3: We had just given it up, and it was maybe
- 9:26Speaker 3: day two or three, and the attict I am.
- 9:31Speaker 2: I was like, I'm gonna give it. I'm just gonna
- 9:32Speaker 2: throw it away.
- 9:34Speaker 3: I hit it the final time, and I thought, I'm
- 9:35Speaker 3: gonna put this in my Duffel bag just in case.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Just in case.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Don't like vitamins, Like you don't know if you're gonna
- 9:42Speaker 1: get sick on vacation, so you gotta throw the vitamins
- 9:45Speaker 1: just a case too.
- 9:46Speaker 2: So I like threw to the Duffel bag. I forgot
- 9:49Speaker 2: about it.
- 9:50Speaker 3: And then when I was in my room, I was
- 9:52Speaker 3: like getting my clothes out and I see this grain
- 9:54Speaker 3: thing at the bottom, and I thought, there's just no
- 9:56Speaker 3: fucking way, and I grabbed it. And I'm not kidding you,
- 10:00Speaker 3: standing straight up.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Was it a freshier and oldie like?
- 10:02Speaker 2: It was pretty freshy. It was the worst.
- 10:04Speaker 3: And I looked at it and the what went through
- 10:07Speaker 3: my mind was do I hit this and not tell anyone,
- 10:10Speaker 3: or do I go find my friend?
- 10:12Speaker 2: So we hit it together, meaning me meaning my sister.
- 10:14Speaker 1: He wanted to bring me down with him.
- 10:17Speaker 3: And right when I'm thinking this, I'm looking at it
- 10:19Speaker 3: and Mom walks.
- 10:21Speaker 2: In and I was like, I'm trying to pape. I
- 10:24Speaker 2: just ratted myself. I was like, I didn't know what
- 10:26Speaker 2: to do.
- 10:27Speaker 4: You had a babe because I didn't have my g
- 10:28Speaker 4: She didn't even care, but I just looked at her.
- 10:30Speaker 2: I was essentially blind, like jilty, and I was.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Like, what though, I don't know, he looks like in
- 10:37Speaker 1: the headline.
- 10:38Speaker 2: I wanted to hit the fape but knowing it wasn't right.
- 10:41Speaker 2: But I A, so you did. No. I I wanted
- 10:44Speaker 2: to hit it but knowing it wasn't right, And so
- 10:46Speaker 2: I was like, do I ask my friend kid with
- 10:49Speaker 2: hen and the cook or do I I was.
- 10:51Speaker 1: I was like, oh no, and Lisa comes out. She goes,
- 10:54Speaker 1: he hit it. I know he hit the vape and
- 10:56Speaker 1: I was like, he says he did it. Mom, No,
- 10:59Speaker 1: he looked guilt. I'm like, that's just contemplating, and that
- 11:02Speaker 1: contemplations like that, the thoughts.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Yeah, if you want to know, it's so sadenalty.
- 11:07Speaker 3: After that happened, we threw it in the trash, I know,
- 11:11Speaker 3: and then that's when the real downhill spirals.
- 11:13Speaker 1: So you guys. It was such a struggle to not
- 11:17Speaker 1: hit it that I had to put Sosa's dirty diapers
- 11:21Speaker 1: on top of it in the trash outside the big
- 11:24Speaker 1: daddies that get emptied by a garbage truck, just so
- 11:28Speaker 1: I wouldn't hit it, and that garbage it filled diapers.
- 11:33Speaker 1: And even then I was like, chlorox, I still could
- 11:37Speaker 1: if I can still reach it, chlorox white, and whatever
- 11:42Speaker 1: comes with it comes with it. So instead of anybody
- 11:44Speaker 1: riding in wanting to shame us, my mother does enough
- 11:47Speaker 1: of that for all of you. So I'd prefer to
- 11:50Speaker 1: hear about your guys' struggles so we can relate and
- 11:53Speaker 1: work together. But I'm getting rid of it. No, yes,
- 11:56Speaker 1: you can. To people who are like I'm.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Trying, but a cocktail night it helps me.
- 12:00Speaker 1: I'm like, well, please, if you can drink, please, don't please.
- 12:05Speaker 1: If you can, then you just make me angry.
- 12:08Speaker 4: You just got that zero alcohol was shot.
- 12:15Speaker 1: You started taking shots of non alcoholic beverages. Very disgusting.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Didn't look good.
- 12:24Speaker 2: It was.
- 12:25Speaker 1: It wasn't good. It tasted the equivalent alcohol.
- 12:29Speaker 5: It scratches the itch of just the but it's just
- 12:34Speaker 5: the hand motion, sobriety. It's just its own different journey.
- 12:40Speaker 1: So anybody who's like smoking the vape but can also
- 12:45Speaker 1: like go and have a drink, it's just different. Like
- 12:48Speaker 1: I can't even take night Quill without because it puts
- 12:53Speaker 1: you into you know, I mean people like sip that
- 12:57Speaker 1: ship on ice off medicine. There there's nothing that I
- 13:01Speaker 1: can really do if I'm having anxiety or I'm struggling
- 13:04Speaker 1: with depression going into a doctor and having them prescribe
- 13:06Speaker 1: me something like slippery slope. So the vape is just
- 13:11Speaker 1: what I turned to in a time where I was
- 13:14Speaker 1: just trying to like not pick up a drink, and
- 13:17Speaker 1: it was the worst move that I ever made. But
- 13:21Speaker 1: then I think about the alternative, which could possibly have
- 13:25Speaker 1: been drinking again. So I'm not trying to justify smoking
- 13:29Speaker 1: the vape.
- 13:30Speaker 4: It's just I'm trying to justify my sobriety, trying to explain,
- 13:34Speaker 4: trying to keep the mind of yeah, like it was.
- 13:40Speaker 1: I have only had this moment one time where I
- 13:44Speaker 1: was in Puerto Rico and I was newly sober, and
- 13:48Speaker 1: I was really tweaking out on the mini bar and
- 13:52Speaker 1: I kept thinking no one would ever know, like I
- 13:55Speaker 1: could drink right now and no one would ever know.
- 13:57Speaker 1: And it got to the point where like, even after
- 13:59Speaker 1: calling my sponsor, it didn't help, and she said, you
- 14:03Speaker 1: have to call room service right now and have them
- 14:05Speaker 1: clean out that many bar. And that's what I did,
- 14:07Speaker 1: because I was going to drink and I didn't have
- 14:10Speaker 1: a vape on me. In fact, my ex's dad sent
- 14:14Speaker 1: an entire box of vapes from Miami to Puerto Rico
- 14:18Speaker 1: because I was tweaking out so badly. So cut to
- 14:21Speaker 1: when I'm in Mexico with the girls. It wasn't that intense,
- 14:25Speaker 1: but we were driving into Cago, like the town where
- 14:29Speaker 1: you go and you can go to little bars, and
- 14:33Speaker 1: we were going on a boat and the girls had
- 14:36Speaker 1: started drinking, and I was passing these like really fun
- 14:39Speaker 1: Mexican restaurants and bars with these people and I'm like, oh,
- 14:42Speaker 1: they're like bar hopping and that looks like so much fun.
- 14:45Speaker 1: And there was a moment that I was not thinking
- 14:48Speaker 1: of picking up a drink, but a thought process that
- 14:50Speaker 1: I have not had. And by the time we were
- 14:54Speaker 1: getting off the boat, I was like, well, I'm glad
- 14:56Speaker 1: I don't drink, but that was scary for me because
- 14:59Speaker 1: I haven't experience that before.
- 15:01Speaker 4: Yeah, well, those people most most of those people in
- 15:04Speaker 4: those little bars know their limits exactly right.
- 15:08Speaker 1: That's the difference, That is the difference. But that's the
- 15:10Speaker 1: alcoholic mind of like, I've beat this, I can have one,
- 15:14Speaker 1: and then I have to walk myself through my rock
- 15:16Speaker 1: bottom moment of once you have one, you're going to
- 15:19Speaker 1: love the feeling and you're going to continue and tomorrow
- 15:22Speaker 1: you're going to wake up and regret every second. And
- 15:24Speaker 1: not only will you regret it, the shame is going
- 15:26Speaker 1: to sink in. And you've started at your twenty four
- 15:29Speaker 1: hour bitch again in the program and that I just
- 15:32Speaker 1: don't want to have.
- 15:34Speaker 4: Well, I'm proud of both of you, so you know,
- 15:36Speaker 4: I know that you're vaping, but I'm proud you don't pick.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Up a drink. I will give up the vight mom
- 15:41Speaker 1: for my for my children. And this is going to
- 15:45Speaker 1: sound horrible. Unfortunately that has been very hard. Even thinking
- 15:49Speaker 1: like my kids need me, you know, and I should
- 15:54Speaker 1: give it up for that. That hasn't worked me. Saying
- 15:59Speaker 1: that it's I have to do it for myself and
- 16:02Speaker 1: vanity is what I think is going to catapult me
- 16:06Speaker 1: into having to give it up.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Yeah, and you have a good reason to give it up.
- 16:11Speaker 1: No one ever pick up the vape. If you have
- 16:14Speaker 1: not picked it up, don't pick it up. It's awful,
- 16:18Speaker 1: it's disgusting, and it's so good, as everyone knows. I've
- 16:35Speaker 1: talked about this on vander Pump. My my ex and
- 16:38Speaker 1: I don't co parent. We parallel parent. What happens at
- 16:43Speaker 1: his house is none of my business. What happens at
- 16:46Speaker 1: my house is none of his business. But there was
- 16:49Speaker 1: something that bothered me so much over the weekend. And
- 16:53Speaker 1: this is where it gets really hard when you can't
- 16:56Speaker 1: have a co parenting relationship. As you know, we communicate
- 17:00Speaker 1: the app. Still there's like no calls, no conversation, even
- 17:03Speaker 1: though I did attempt to call this weekend. So it
- 17:07Speaker 1: was a Friday, and I'm getting all of these calls
- 17:10Speaker 1: from moms at school and the school saying Ocean has
- 17:15Speaker 1: invited the entire or has invited a few friends to
- 17:21Speaker 1: her birthday party that's happening on Saturday, and moms are
- 17:24Speaker 1: expressing concern because it's like not even twenty four hours
- 17:28Speaker 1: before this party is happening, and I'm confused because I'm like, well,
- 17:31Speaker 1: number one, I know that this school has a policy
- 17:33Speaker 1: that if this is a birthday party, or even a
- 17:36Speaker 1: party in any capacity, you have to invite the entire class.
- 17:39Speaker 1: You have to be inclusive, either the entire I love
- 17:43Speaker 1: I love it. I have no issue with that at all.
- 17:46Speaker 1: So you can either invite the whole class or it
- 17:48Speaker 1: can just be girls. But you can't invite one boy
- 17:51Speaker 1: unless you want to invite the entire class. So my
- 17:55Speaker 1: daughter's walking around talking about this. I get a call
- 17:57Speaker 1: from one of my friends and she's like, I just
- 17:59Speaker 1: feel really badly because she's inviting everybody. But as you know,
- 18:04Speaker 1: I mean in our group chat for the school, people
- 18:07Speaker 1: are already setting out save the dates for birthdays that
- 18:10Speaker 1: are happening in March and April, so people are planning ahead.
- 18:15Speaker 1: There's a lot of planning involved. So I'm blowing him up.
- 18:19Speaker 1: I'm blowing the nanny up. I'm like, hey, this carnival
- 18:22Speaker 1: sounds amazing, Just to let you know, I don't want
- 18:25Speaker 1: you catching smoke from the school. You have to invite
- 18:28Speaker 1: the entire class. Well, no one responds. I have multiple
- 18:34Speaker 1: people saying that they can't go, and now I'm tabbing
- 18:37Speaker 1: into I'm pissed off because while this is amazing, you
- 18:41Speaker 1: have given people no time, and my daughter has walked
- 18:44Speaker 1: into school talking about this, inviting everybody she's going to
- 18:49Speaker 1: think tomorrow at her carnival, which at this point in
- 18:52Speaker 1: time she thinks is her birthday party, and no one
- 18:55Speaker 1: shows up that this is a her thing, and not
- 19:00Speaker 1: that her other parent just didn't send out the info
- 19:05Speaker 1: in time. And I'm trying to convey this over and
- 19:08Speaker 1: over again, and he's like, I think it's adorable that
- 19:12Speaker 1: she invited the whole class and her teachers, And in
- 19:15Speaker 1: my head, I'm like, it's not adorable. It's adorable that
- 19:18Speaker 1: she did that. They have no fucking details, all right,
- 19:20Speaker 1: So I'm angry. Then I get a call from Amber
- 19:24Speaker 1: that Riley has one hundred and three fever and is
- 19:29Speaker 1: suffering from the flu. And now I'm even more pissed
- 19:33Speaker 1: because not only did you not send out invites, but
- 19:36Speaker 1: you continue to have the party when my freaking child
- 19:39Speaker 1: was exposed to her sister. She's now going to expose
- 19:45Speaker 1: her friends, who are now going to expose everyone else.
- 19:49Speaker 1: And I'm like, you have to keep her at your house.
- 19:51Speaker 1: My you know, Sosa is seventeen months old. She gets this.
- 19:56Speaker 1: This is a really big fucking problem. So I just
- 20:02Speaker 1: continue to try my best to keep everyone in the loop.
- 20:06Speaker 1: It is so hard to co parent. It is so
- 20:10Speaker 1: hard to navigate just like your child's feelings. I'm I'm
- 20:16Speaker 1: on edge, being like when she comes back to me,
- 20:19Speaker 1: she's resilient as fuck. You know this, mom, She's gonna
- 20:22Speaker 1: come back and she will have had the time of
- 20:23Speaker 1: her life. She could have had one friend show up
- 20:25Speaker 1: and all is good. But I just keep thinking, like,
- 20:31Speaker 1: thank God that ocean is the product of the two
- 20:34Speaker 1: of us, because if so so were the product of
- 20:36Speaker 1: the two of us, this would be really, really bad.
- 20:40Speaker 1: Just knowing personality is.
- 20:44Speaker 3: A very delicate Yeah, this is delicate. You hurt her
- 20:48Speaker 3: feelings by telling her no, or putting your finger on her,
- 20:51Speaker 3: or you look at you look at her, tell her no.
- 20:55Speaker 3: She looks at you and goes whatever. There's just something
- 20:59Speaker 3: about words. Yeah, she listens, but you can't affect her.
- 21:03Speaker 1: I think everyone, I think everyone has experienced a point
- 21:07Speaker 1: in parenting where you explode and feel very badly about it.
- 21:11Speaker 1: So I'm gonna tell a story and I don't care
- 21:12Speaker 1: if anyone judges me. It was not a proud moment.
- 21:16Speaker 1: I cried and prayed for many days because I felt
- 21:18Speaker 1: so terrible. But Ocean does not pick up. And this
- 21:21Speaker 1: has happened a really long time ago. Low are very low.
- 21:25Speaker 1: All right, Ocean's playroom was a mess, and I'm trying
- 21:30Speaker 1: to tell her you need to start picking up. So
- 21:32Speaker 1: I pick up a toy and I stand up and
- 21:34Speaker 1: turn and I just smack my head on the corner
- 21:37Speaker 1: of the ceiling, and I'm like a little disoriented and
- 21:40Speaker 1: now very pissed off. I yell at her. I yell
- 21:44Speaker 1: at her, clean up your playroom in a very aggressive way. Okay.
- 21:49Speaker 1: At the end of me saying this three times, my
- 21:53Speaker 1: daughter puts up her two hands like this and goes okay,
- 21:57Speaker 1: like she was so unfazed by me.
- 21:59Speaker 3: Lauren went on a good thirty second random This is
- 22:02Speaker 3: why I asked you to pick up after yourself, so
- 22:05Speaker 3: there isn't a huge mess.
- 22:06Speaker 2: I tell you and.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Tell you, but I was very very toys.
- 22:11Speaker 2: And Ocean sits there for five seconds and goes okay.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Like in other words, calm the fun doesn't care.
- 22:17Speaker 3: She's Laurence. Not only that, Lauren comes in, she has
- 22:24Speaker 3: to take a minute.
- 22:25Speaker 2: She's disoriented. She walks into her room.
- 22:27Speaker 3: I'm just in there Ocean is doing no picking up,
- 22:30Speaker 3: by the way, She's just playing some more.
- 22:32Speaker 2: Unfaced Lauren comes back in.
- 22:33Speaker 3: La La comes back in after what five minutes and
- 22:37Speaker 3: continues to pick up the room after she had her moment.
- 22:40Speaker 3: After Lauren puts the last toy away, I see Ocean
- 22:44Speaker 3: go up to her and go, mom, I did it.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Oh I would have she did it. She did it.
- 22:52Speaker 1: I had just cleaned up the entire playroom and she
- 22:54Speaker 1: looks around and goes.
- 22:56Speaker 2: Mom, Mom, I did it. I did it.
- 22:57Speaker 1: The vap really helped me get through it. Oh, the
- 23:01Speaker 1: vape just all roads lead back to the vape. My
- 23:06Speaker 1: love Easton. Thank you so much for being here and
- 23:09Speaker 1: participating My loves. Thank you for listening to another episode
- 23:12Speaker 1: of Untraditionally, La La. I know being a parent is rough.
- 23:16Speaker 1: I am here to tell you you're doing a fucking awesome job.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Let's go out there and show our kids some love,
- 23:22Speaker 1: but show them who's boss. I'm gonna catch you guys
- 23:25Speaker 1: on Monday and again next week.
