- 0:00Speaker 1: And the Kraken power play Lord.
- 0:02Speaker 2: This is the postgame show, brought to you by Toyota
- 0:06Speaker 2: of Olympia. Now for an in depth look at your
- 0:09Speaker 2: Kraken hockey. It's the post Game. I'm the Global Credit
- 0:13Speaker 2: Union Kraken Audio Network.
- 0:16Speaker 3: For the final time tonight, Welcome back inside of Climate
- 0:19Speaker 3: Pledge Arena alongside al Kiniski Ever fits you back with
- 0:24Speaker 3: you my goodness to Seattle Kraken. A third period comeback
- 0:29Speaker 3: coming up just short.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Mama, gonna go that man again.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Cole Kawfield his second two goal overtime winning performance over
- 0:40Speaker 3: the Kraken, his third two goal overtime winning performance of
- 0:45Speaker 3: the season, and his second goal game in the last
- 0:49Speaker 3: three with two goals. I mean his name is now
- 0:51Speaker 3: goal Cawfield, the cracking, a massive third period rush and
- 0:56Speaker 3: it comes up short here in overtime.
- 0:57Speaker 4: Yeah, absolutely, And you know are you watched the play
- 1:00Speaker 4: of Cole Cawfield's game winning goal in overtime, and you
- 1:03Speaker 4: know he and Berkeley Catton were in a fifty to
- 1:05Speaker 4: fifty puck and Catton, looking for the breakaway, tried to
- 1:08Speaker 4: chip it away. Calfield got it passed him fifty to
- 1:10Speaker 4: fifty puck and Vince Dunn played him to the outside
- 1:14Speaker 4: just like any top defenseman would. Yeah, got him below
- 1:17Speaker 4: the goal line even and Joy to Coord's got to
- 1:19Speaker 4: read is he is he coming around the back of
- 1:21Speaker 4: the net.
- 1:22Speaker 5: Is he going to try and stuff it?
- 1:23Speaker 4: He started to go behind the net, Joey to Cord moved,
- 1:26Speaker 4: opened up half an inch and Cole Cowfield stuffed it
- 1:30Speaker 4: in what was what was given to him.
- 1:32Speaker 3: I was gonna say, you know, it happened in Montreal
- 1:35Speaker 3: two weeks ago, the first time the Cord was caught leaning,
- 1:38Speaker 3: and I think whenever Cawfield's got the puck on his stick,
- 1:41Speaker 3: you have to know he's so shifty.
- 1:43Speaker 1: He has that little stutter step that he loves to do.
- 1:47Speaker 3: Decord held that right post, that far post, as tight
- 1:51Speaker 3: as he could, and he reached behind him and then
- 1:54Speaker 3: again just able to get.
- 1:56Speaker 1: It past him.
- 1:56Speaker 4: Yeah, he held that post for as long as he
- 1:58Speaker 4: could until he thought, I have to start to lean
- 2:01Speaker 4: to the other side because he might try a wrap round.
- 2:03Speaker 4: He pulled off that post, and then when he realized
- 2:05Speaker 4: Caulfield was coming back, he tried to get back on
- 2:07Speaker 4: the post. And that time between that push and that
- 2:09Speaker 4: comeback was enough time for him to jam that pucking'.
- 2:12Speaker 3: The Kraken turned a whole lot of nothing into something
- 2:16Speaker 3: here today Brandon Montour two third period goals, adding an
- 2:21Speaker 3: assist three points tonight. He now has three hundred points
- 2:25Speaker 3: in his NHL career. You know, for the Kraken, in
- 2:29Speaker 3: the first what forty five minutes and fifty five seconds
- 2:33Speaker 3: of this game, it seemed like the Kraken could could
- 2:37Speaker 3: not find any inch of room.
- 2:40Speaker 1: What changed in your mind in that third period?
- 2:43Speaker 4: Yeah, I think it's what we talked about between the
- 2:44Speaker 4: second and the third, which is traffic in front of
- 2:46Speaker 4: the net, which you know, all three of those goals
- 2:49Speaker 4: were traffic in front of that They had, they had
- 2:51Speaker 4: double layers of screens, they had guys in front of
- 2:54Speaker 4: Dobeesha's eyes. Yeah, funneling pucks to the net. It wasn't
- 2:58Speaker 4: just you know, we talked about shots that were getting through,
- 3:00Speaker 4: but Dubesh saw them all the way through. You didn't
- 3:02Speaker 4: see these shots as well in the third period. So
- 3:05Speaker 4: the combination of fundling puckst in the net and traffic
- 3:07Speaker 4: to the net was the biggest difference. But it definitely
- 3:10Speaker 4: wasn't a goaltender's night. Now, both these goaltenders sub nine
- 3:14Speaker 4: hundred save percentages on a very low shot total on
- 3:17Speaker 4: both sides. It ends up being twenty one a piece
- 3:20Speaker 4: for both teams, but four goals from Montreal and three
- 3:22Speaker 4: for Seattle.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Are you satisfied? Are you happy with this one?
- 3:26Speaker 3: Knowing how it started, they managed to salvage a point,
- 3:30Speaker 3: or is it you never should have been in this
- 3:32Speaker 3: position in the first place.
- 3:33Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean you can think about it that way.
- 3:35Speaker 4: You can think this team battled to get a point
- 3:38Speaker 4: and almost two. You love the no quit mentality there
- 3:42Speaker 4: in the third period, but you're right, you know, two
- 3:45Speaker 4: periods of hockey. You know, maybe you shouldn't have been
- 3:48Speaker 4: in that position. And I think that, you know, this
- 3:51Speaker 4: team's got to learn that when they play teams like Montreal,
- 3:54Speaker 4: youngest team in the league, fast team, they've got to
- 3:57Speaker 4: find a way to combat that a little bit more
- 3:59Speaker 4: with physical play, with you know, better back checking. And
- 4:03Speaker 4: I think it got away from them there a little
- 4:04Speaker 4: bit in the first half of the game, crack and
- 4:06Speaker 4: fall four to three.
- 4:08Speaker 3: In overtime, they do salvage a point at least, so
- 4:12Speaker 3: they keep a two in the lost column. They are
- 4:15Speaker 3: now five two and three on this young season through
- 4:19Speaker 3: ten games and before we go out, now that we're
- 4:21Speaker 3: ten games in, I mean the Seattle Kraken currently will
- 4:25Speaker 3: get the standings pulled up for you. It's never too
- 4:27Speaker 3: early to look at the stake. Oh no, No, you're
- 4:29Speaker 3: two points back of Vegas in the division. Edmonton won
- 4:32Speaker 3: the night, so they sit still one point back of view.
- 4:35Speaker 3: What is your assessment of this team through for their
- 4:37Speaker 3: first ten games. Well, I think that there's there's been
- 4:39Speaker 3: a couple of hiccups along the way. You know that
- 4:41Speaker 3: we talk about the Philadelphia and Washington games. We talked
- 4:44Speaker 3: about the first couple periods of tonight, But I think
- 4:46Speaker 3: there's also opportunities for this team to learn to learn
- 4:50Speaker 3: that there are just no nights off. Yeah, they've they've
- 4:53Speaker 3: got to play sixty minutes of Lane Lambert hockey, and
- 4:57Speaker 3: I think you started to see that hockey a little
- 4:59Speaker 3: bit more in the third period than you did in
- 5:00Speaker 3: the rest of the game. But you know, you want
- 5:03Speaker 3: to get those lessons early. You want to get them
- 5:04Speaker 3: in the first ten games because the next seventy two
- 5:07Speaker 3: games are going to be even harder. So get those
- 5:10Speaker 3: lessons learned early and go to battle in the next
- 5:12Speaker 3: seventy two and who knows what happens four to three, cracking,
- 5:15Speaker 3: falling over time, al over to you, back over to you.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Four key takeaways.
- 5:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I didn't love the playing chase part of the game.
- 5:21Speaker 4: I thought that was a big over the first forty
- 5:23Speaker 4: minutes and the Kraken did a lot of it. That's
- 5:25Speaker 4: something that's got to be sorted out. I did love
- 5:28Speaker 4: the traffic in front of the net in the third period.
- 5:31Speaker 4: I thought that made a big difference in the outcome
- 5:32Speaker 4: of the game, getting back into it, and certainly that
- 5:34Speaker 4: no quit mentality. I think we're going to see a
- 5:37Speaker 4: lot of that throughout the year when the crack and
- 5:39Speaker 4: find themselves on the wrong side of a score. Three
- 5:42Speaker 4: starts tonight brought to you by Mama Kay. Unfortunately, Mama,
- 5:46Speaker 4: two of them are Canadians, but here we go. Third
- 5:48Speaker 4: star was Nick Suzuki. He had two assists. He was
- 5:51Speaker 4: a plus two tonight. Good game for him. Second star
- 5:54Speaker 4: goes to Brandon Montur. Gosh, it's nice to have him back.
- 5:57Speaker 4: Two goals, one assist, plus two, four shots on goal.
- 6:02Speaker 4: And your first start of the night goes to the
- 6:04Speaker 4: guy that got the ot winner, Cole Caulfield. He had
- 6:07Speaker 4: the exact same stats as Brandon Montur two goals, one
- 6:11Speaker 4: assist plus two four shoton goal.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Two of your three stars were Canadians and two of
- 6:16Speaker 3: your three stars were also Canadians. Well, there you go,
- 6:20Speaker 3: crag and fall four to three two Montreal here and
- 6:23Speaker 3: overtime tonight. That'll do it for us up here in
- 6:25Speaker 3: the booth. But Mike Benton, where's Mike Betton? Is he
- 6:27Speaker 3: cross street?
- 6:28Speaker 1: He's a cross Street. He's got a table. I'm gonna
- 6:30Speaker 1: join him.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Yeah, he's got a table in the corner. Got of
- 6:33Speaker 3: here al over at Tom's washbar. As he's gonna take
- 6:35Speaker 3: you home the rest of the way. We will talk

- 7:13Speaker 6: but fall four to three to two Montreal here to

- 7:40Speaker 6: finishes things off his ninth goal of the season and

- 7:46Speaker 6: Montreal four and the crack And three in overtime. Montreal
- 7:50Speaker 6: sweeps the series, and the Cracking so close to getting

- 11:11Speaker 6: one point off the table. But tonight Cole Coffield end
- 11:14Speaker 6: of matters once again, just like in Matchup one of
- 11:17Speaker 6: this series, forty four seconds into ot to finish it
- 11:20Speaker 6: despite a valiant comeback by the Kraken, Layton period three,

- 11:39Speaker 6: five to two and three. They have thirteen points now
- 11:42Speaker 6: in this second game of a five game homestand Montreal
- 11:45Speaker 6: they're rolling right now to begin the year. They improve
- 11:48Speaker 6: to eight and three and now have sixteen points on
- 11:52Speaker 6: the campaign.
- 11:53Speaker 7: A lot to get to.
- 11:54Speaker 6: Let's start right here with the highlights in this Seattle
- 11:56Speaker 6: Kraken drive to the next scoring recap is brought to
- 11:58Speaker 6: you by the All News sh Tracks now bigger and
- 12:01Speaker 6: Boulder Tracks is the perfect assist for all of life's adventures.
- 12:06Speaker 6: Low event hockey are three words here to describe this game.
- 12:10Speaker 6: In the first forty minutes and the Kraken struggling to
- 12:13Speaker 6: try to keep up with Montreal who use their legs
- 12:16Speaker 6: to check a ton and Montreal got after it here
- 12:19Speaker 6: for a one to nothing lead ten to twenty five
- 12:20Speaker 6: minut of the first period, Coffield getting his eighth goal
- 12:23Speaker 6: of the season. Nick Suzuki and Noah Dobson with the
- 12:26Speaker 6: helper as well as Azuki pushing his point streak to
- 12:30Speaker 6: ten consecutive games. He's hot and for the first time
- 12:33Speaker 6: this season, the Kraken trailed won nothing on home mise,
- 12:37Speaker 6: then a power player to Montreal, Yurislavkovski capitalizing at seventeen
- 12:42Speaker 6: to twenty eight a period one, converting a bumper feed
- 12:45Speaker 6: right into the slot. This fifth goal of the season.
- 12:48Speaker 6: Caf Field and Suzuki again there they were with the
- 12:51Speaker 6: assist on the play, and the Kraken had some work
- 12:53Speaker 6: to do, down to nothing at the end of one
- 12:56Speaker 6: an ounce shot seven to five in the opening three.
- 13:00Speaker 6: They had more push in period two but could get
- 13:02Speaker 6: no closer, and the Kraken trailing by two with twenty
- 13:06Speaker 6: minutes to play and they had to find something to
- 13:10Speaker 6: jumpstart their offense. But the Hillwood gets deeper Alex new
- 13:13Speaker 6: Hook on a power play, converting to make it a
- 13:16Speaker 6: three to nothing. Montreal lead five point fifty five into
- 13:19Speaker 6: the third and the Canadiens two for two on the
- 13:23Speaker 6: man and vandon jat that point, with Kirby Dakka Noah
- 13:25Speaker 6: Dompson picking up the assist as new Hook converting from
- 13:28Speaker 6: the right circle passed Joey de Cord. How could the
- 13:32Speaker 6: Kraken get matters rolling? They looked to one blue liner
- 13:35Speaker 6: right back here the jumpstart matters. A little over eight
- 13:38Speaker 6: minutes in the period three.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Capton gets it back right side up top. Montor shot to.
- 13:50Speaker 13: Brandon Montour from the line redirected.
- 13:54Speaker 3: Into the odds that had the Seattle Cracket on the
- 13:58Speaker 3: power play get on the board three one.
- 14:00Speaker 1: They cut their deficit to two.
- 14:03Speaker 5: Well, big puck movement by anything.
- 14:04Speaker 4: The Kracket starts with catting back to the Montour. He
- 14:07Speaker 4: puts but hard on net. I believe it went off
- 14:10Speaker 4: of Supper and I think it.
- 14:13Speaker 5: Was James Schwartz's stick.
- 14:14Speaker 3: It was either Schwartz or carry A because Carrie A
- 14:18Speaker 3: was the one.
- 14:19Speaker 5: All goes off Carrier stick and in.
- 14:21Speaker 3: By Jacob Dobash, so that will be Montour's goal.
- 14:25Speaker 1: The krackt on the board down three to one.
- 14:28Speaker 6: Indeed, it went off Carrie A and for the Krack
- 14:31Speaker 6: and they had to find some way to generate traffic.
- 14:33Speaker 6: That was very light in front of yakub do Besh
- 14:36Speaker 6: for much of this evening up until that point, but
- 14:38Speaker 6: eventually it paid off random Montour at eight fifty seven
- 14:42Speaker 6: period three got the Kraken on the board. Berkeley Catton
- 14:45Speaker 6: and Mason march Mint with the assist on the play.
- 14:48Speaker 6: With the Kraken trailing by two and at least some
- 14:51Speaker 6: consolation at that point it would not get shut out
- 14:54Speaker 6: by yakub do Besch. But the Kraken had more matters
- 14:57Speaker 6: in mind to make this game, more in drifting and
- 15:00Speaker 6: who jumps in there right place, right time?
- 15:04Speaker 1: Here comes only.
- 15:04Speaker 3: Tollven it right in on goal that one knocked away,
- 15:07Speaker 3: now Shane right stoo Shane right off a fifty pass
- 15:19Speaker 3: drifting into the slot and the Seattle cracket.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Cut the deficit to one.
- 15:24Speaker 13: It's a three to two Canadians lead here in the third.
- 15:29Speaker 4: But you can feel that pump pot Boilian partners think
- 15:32Speaker 4: krack and move the pucke into the offensive ends cycle
- 15:34Speaker 4: around the back of the dead.
- 15:35Speaker 1: It was Bob toward.
- 15:36Speaker 5: Feeding right in the high slot.
- 15:38Speaker 3: Right.
- 15:39Speaker 4: It's a one timer off beachs tobash cluff side tough
- 15:42Speaker 4: shelf scape three two now in.
- 15:44Speaker 6: A sequence that seemed very very difficult here to capitalize
- 15:49Speaker 6: on the Krake and did just that, igniting a rally
- 15:52Speaker 6: fifteen seventeen a period three at the time of Shane
- 15:55Speaker 6: right Skull who let him fly from the right circle
- 15:57Speaker 6: on dobesh random. Montour in the multi point ten terratory
- 16:00Speaker 6: had the assist on the play along with Ellie Tolbnen.
- 16:03Speaker 6: And then you can feel the Kraken with some light
- 16:06Speaker 6: at that goal to cut the lead.
- 16:08Speaker 7: Down to three to two.
- 16:10Speaker 6: Then Lane Lambert pulling Joey decor for the extra attacker
- 16:14Speaker 6: and what could the Kraken do right here in one
- 16:17Speaker 6: last ditch effort to rally for a.
- 16:19Speaker 3: Tie track it regain possession, done drifting center plant across Montreto.
- 16:35Speaker 13: Welcome back Brandon Montor. He's got two third period goals
- 16:41Speaker 13: and the Seattle Kracking tie the game.
- 16:44Speaker 1: At three one.
- 16:46Speaker 14: Forty three left in the third Well Montreal, I don't
- 16:50Speaker 14: know why if Montreal gives the Seattle excellent offensive soln entrance,
- 16:54Speaker 14: they get control on the half boards and Monty picks
- 16:57Speaker 14: that puck up off of a done pass.
- 17:00Speaker 4: And puts a bomb on net.
- 17:02Speaker 6: This game title free vicious results for Brandon Montour at
- 17:07Speaker 6: his second game back after leaving the team. Here for
- 17:10Speaker 6: personal matters as well, Brandon Montour a three point nine
- 17:13Speaker 6: second goal of the game extra attacker goal at eighteen
- 17:17Speaker 6: seventeen to turn this game on its head, and the
- 17:20Speaker 6: Kraken mounting a vicious third period rally to tie things
- 17:24Speaker 6: up at three. Montour's goal again his second in eighteen
- 17:28Speaker 6: seventeen from Ben's Dunn and Jayden Schwartz swiped one point
- 17:32Speaker 6: off the table. But then who comes right back aiming
- 17:36Speaker 6: for that second point to begin overtime.
- 17:38Speaker 3: Coffeield left circle around done Coffield, stop by the cord.
- 17:44Speaker 1: It's in a score.
- 17:48Speaker 13: Col Cowfield does it again to seattle his second goal
- 17:54Speaker 13: up the night, another overtime winner.
- 17:58Speaker 1: He just shams it in and.
- 18:01Speaker 3: Passed accord, and forty four seconds into overtime, the Canadians
- 18:09Speaker 3: take the extra point.
- 18:11Speaker 6: Oh a deflating way to end this one here, given
- 18:13Speaker 6: the circumstances back in period three, but the crack and
- 18:15Speaker 6: at least settling for one point here in the comeback.
- 18:18Speaker 6: But Cole coff Fields showing why he's one of the
- 18:20Speaker 6: league's most gifted goals scores and the Krakens certainly have
- 18:24Speaker 6: had enough of him into games. His second two goal
- 18:28Speaker 6: effort in this series. It caps off the overtime winner
- 18:31Speaker 6: as well, and is ninth of the season. Jamming it
- 18:34Speaker 6: passed Joey to Cord from the left post.
- 18:36Speaker 7: Again.
- 18:37Speaker 6: Forty four seconds into overtime is Cole Coffield's winner. Here
- 18:41Speaker 6: your final score Montreal four and the Crack in three. Nonetheless,
- 18:45Speaker 6: the Cracking is still unbeaten in regulation on home ice,
- 18:49Speaker 6: three to zero and one. Their record and also through
- 18:53Speaker 6: ten games five to three and two.
- 18:55Speaker 7: Not a bad way.
- 18:55Speaker 6: Here to begin matters under the Lane Lambert era and
- 18:58Speaker 6: all things considered, the Crack and facing a very heavy
- 19:01Speaker 6: schedule with teams last year in the Stanley Cup playoffs. Additionally,
- 19:05Speaker 6: the Kraken converting one to four on the power play,
- 19:08Speaker 6: Montreal goes two for two, with the win in net
- 19:11Speaker 6: going to Yakub Dobesh, who didn't face much period one
- 19:15Speaker 6: or period two. The Kraken cranking matters up in period
- 19:18Speaker 6: three and he exits this game with the win. With
- 19:21Speaker 6: three goals allowed on twenty one shots. He is now
- 19:24Speaker 6: six to zero on the season. Joey to coord the
- 19:26Speaker 6: overtime loss four goals on twenty one shots, he moves
- 19:31Speaker 6: his record to five one and two. Time now for
- 19:34Speaker 6: the cors Light chill us moments up the game, Cracking fans,

- 19:52Speaker 6: the cracking down by two in period two, what are
- 19:55Speaker 6: they looking toward here? As far as the hint to
- 19:57Speaker 6: get back into this game.
- 19:59Speaker 3: Chanler Stevens said, drop past lindret near side shot tip touss.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Line as Ryan Wincherton went toward the goal.
- 20:06Speaker 5: Good idea by lingerid there on that wrap around backhander.
- 20:09Speaker 7: Simple strategy.
- 20:10Speaker 6: It was getting bodies toward the front of the net,
- 20:13Speaker 6: a strategy would certainly escape the cracking back in period one,
- 20:16Speaker 6: and they had scant looks at it in period two.
- 20:19Speaker 6: But ramping things up in period three that was maybe
- 20:22Speaker 6: a sign of things to come. Getting traffick in front
- 20:24Speaker 6: of Yakub dobsh was certainly a solution here to dig
- 20:28Speaker 6: their way out of the hole the crack and then
- 20:30Speaker 6: tying the game buds over time. No certain yet because
- 20:34Speaker 6: of this play with the second ticking down in period three, here.

- 20:56Speaker 6: Seattle, not just for the three points that he had,
- 20:59Speaker 6: but that shot block with time winding down in period three.
- 21:02Speaker 6: It was all part of a herculean ef for Brandon
- 21:04Speaker 6: Montor had here in this one two block shots as
- 21:08Speaker 6: well in the game in twenty five minutes and seventeen
- 21:11Speaker 6: seconds of ice time. Nobody had more time on ice
- 21:14Speaker 6: on the Kraken side, and Brandon Montor helping preserve the
- 21:17Speaker 6: three to three tie into overtime with the Kraken get
- 21:21Speaker 6: a point out of this one before they fell for

- 26:10Speaker 21: know how we were in the last ten there and
- 26:12Speaker 21: nice to get a point, but we'd like to obviously,
- 26:15Speaker 21: you know, create a little bit more throughout the game.
- 26:18Speaker 5: What'd you kind of see on your couple of shot chants?

- 38:06Speaker 6: All right, let's go life from Tom's washbar right across
- 38:09Speaker 6: from Climbing Pledge Arena. We're doing this here throughout the
- 38:12Speaker 6: entire season when the Kraken are at home, and this
- 38:15Speaker 6: one was a thriller. Tonight proven that you're never out
- 38:19Speaker 6: of a game. The Kracking those settling for a point,
- 38:22Speaker 6: Montreal winning this one four through the final and sudden
- 38:24Speaker 6: depth overtime in the back of Cole cow Field. I'm
- 38:27Speaker 6: showing why he's one of the more gifted goal scorers
- 38:29Speaker 6: in the NHL. Despite that, the Kracking getting a herculean
- 38:33Speaker 6: effort from Brandon Montour in a second game back from
- 38:36Speaker 6: personal lead to a family matter or a chorus his
- 38:38Speaker 6: brother passing away unfortunately from als, but Brandon Montour tonight
- 38:43Speaker 6: a three point effort and also a tremendous block at
- 38:47Speaker 6: the end of period three to preserve overtime. So Neil,
- 38:50Speaker 6: let's just say, we have a lot to talk about.
- 38:52Speaker 6: Mike Vent and Alconiski with you. Al got himself a
- 38:55Speaker 6: table here. I'm just kind of waiting for the.
- 38:57Speaker 7: Food right now.
- 38:57Speaker 4: Yeah, have you put an order in. I'm kind of
- 39:00Speaker 4: getting close there seeing things going by, and I'm getting hungry.
- 39:02Speaker 6: It's a robust, mean you hear at Tom's watch Bar,
- 39:05Speaker 6: a lot of food, a lot of drinks, a lot
- 39:07Speaker 6: of vibes, a lot of screens as well.
- 39:09Speaker 5: And I mean if you want to watch blinders, if.
- 39:11Speaker 6: You watch multi if you watch multiple sports, you can
- 39:14Speaker 6: just put away the laptop with the mosaic on there.
- 39:16Speaker 6: I mean you are covered corner of your eye to
- 39:19Speaker 6: corner of your eye. I mean you're getting everything.
- 39:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:23Speaker 4: There there's hockey, there's basketball, there's sports center. There, there's
- 39:26Speaker 4: a little bit of everything going on. Just find find
- 39:28Speaker 4: your spot and here that and find the sport you
- 39:30Speaker 4: want to watch.
- 39:31Speaker 6: So again, Rod, Tom's watch Bar again, come on and
- 39:33Speaker 6: and join us each and every night. After cracking here
- 39:37Speaker 6: at home, I climb the pledge arena. And as far
- 39:39Speaker 6: as we want to talk about, well, the narrative completely
- 39:42Speaker 6: flipped on its head in period three, will get to
- 39:45Speaker 6: this here in just a bit, But I want to
- 39:46Speaker 6: hear from you four nine four five one right now
- 39:49Speaker 6: on the kJ R text line. Is there more concern
- 39:52Speaker 6: or is there more optimism from what you took away
- 39:55Speaker 6: from this game, because I mean this game was, you know,
- 39:58Speaker 6: if you want to look at it this way, I
- 40:00Speaker 6: mean it was two faced first two periods, then the
- 40:02Speaker 6: third period and the comeback as well in overtime. So
- 40:05Speaker 6: it really depends on how you felt walking out of
- 40:07Speaker 6: the building or driving home or listening wherever you may be.
- 40:11Speaker 6: Is there more concern for how the Kraken started or
- 40:14Speaker 6: more optimism and how they found their game and willed
- 40:17Speaker 6: themselves back against one of the top young teams, the
- 40:21Speaker 6: youngest team in the NHL and a first place team
- 40:23Speaker 6: here in the Atlantic. So four nine four or five
- 40:26Speaker 6: to one concern or optimistic based on this game four
- 40:30Speaker 6: nine four five one Texas Right now, Al we go
- 40:34Speaker 6: back I think early on to period one and a
- 40:37Speaker 6: bit of period two. I mean it looked grim. It
- 40:40Speaker 6: looked absolutely grim just from the standpoint of the crack
- 40:44Speaker 6: and were playing low event hockey. And it's not as
- 40:46Speaker 6: if they were getting run out of the building by
- 40:49Speaker 6: you know, say a browny Burley Florida Panthers type of team,
- 40:52Speaker 6: But there was just no space out there to operate
- 40:54Speaker 6: with the way that Montreal was playing.
- 40:56Speaker 4: Yeah, they were playing a very smothering game in that
- 40:59Speaker 4: every time the c had the puck it was seconds
- 41:02Speaker 4: part parts of seconds before they were on the krack
- 41:06Speaker 4: and lifting sticks taking away Puck's playing physical and when
- 41:09Speaker 4: you don't have a lot of time to move and
- 41:12Speaker 4: make decisions out there, you give away the puck more.
- 41:14Speaker 4: And I think the Kraken had too many giveaways in
- 41:16Speaker 4: the first half of that game. But the nd in
- 41:18Speaker 4: the third period, I think they realized if they just
- 41:20Speaker 4: made decisions a little bit quicker, if they moved the
- 41:22Speaker 4: puck a little bit quicker, if they got traffic in
- 41:25Speaker 4: front of b Besh and they funneled pucks there, good
- 41:28Speaker 4: things would happen.
- 41:28Speaker 5: And they did.
- 41:29Speaker 4: So your comment, are you know, are you disappointed that
- 41:32Speaker 4: they put themselves in that position or are you.
- 41:34Speaker 5: Happy for the outcome.
- 41:36Speaker 4: I'm happy for the outcome because I want a team
- 41:38Speaker 4: to learn these lessons early on in the season. We're
- 41:41Speaker 4: ten games in, Yeah, we still got seventy two games left.
- 41:44Speaker 4: Learn these lessons. The Philadelphia lesson the Washington lesson the
- 41:48Speaker 4: Canadians lessons in both games, by the way, and let
- 41:52Speaker 4: those lessons funnel into the next seventy two games. I
- 41:54Speaker 4: think good things will happen.
- 41:55Speaker 6: See, I still think that we're also in the period
- 41:57Speaker 6: of sloppy October where and this is going to carry
- 41:59Speaker 6: in an into November because you have a lot of
- 42:01Speaker 6: teams and again nine teams changing coaches here in the NHL.
- 42:05Speaker 6: You're learning a news system, you're picking things back up,
- 42:07Speaker 6: players come and go entering training camp, and you're still
- 42:10Speaker 6: trying to pat down mistakes. There are more mistakes in
- 42:13Speaker 6: this month and also in November than what you're getting,
- 42:16Speaker 6: say maybe in December and in January. So you're trying
- 42:20Speaker 6: to nab points off the table as much as you can.
- 42:23Speaker 6: So again, four nine four or five to one? Are
- 42:26Speaker 6: you more concerned or more optimistic based on the outcome
- 42:29Speaker 6: here of this game? Four nine four or five to one?
- 42:32Speaker 6: But I put it here this way, if you were
- 42:34Speaker 6: to go back about a month ago, on say September
- 42:37Speaker 6: twenty eight, and look into the schedule, you got Montreal twice,
- 42:41Speaker 6: You've got Ottawa, you've got Toronto on the road, You've
- 42:44Speaker 6: got Edmonton as well, five two and three first ten games.
- 42:48Speaker 5: How do you feel.
- 42:49Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean they're they're unbeaten in regulation against Canadian
- 42:53Speaker 4: teams as well. Going back to last season, which was huge,
- 42:56Speaker 4: it was eight coming into the game. It's now nine,
- 42:57Speaker 4: and I think you're gonna see statistic like that throughout
- 43:00Speaker 4: this season because I think the Lane Lambert way is
- 43:05Speaker 4: you play within this defensive structure and if you don't,
- 43:08Speaker 4: you're not gonna play. I think we saw that a
- 43:10Speaker 4: little bit with Yanni Newman towards the end of the game.
- 43:12Speaker 4: We saw him in Winterton flip spots. I think that
- 43:15Speaker 4: was mostly to try and create some offense. But then
- 43:18Speaker 4: you saw Berkeley Cotton get put on the power play
- 43:20Speaker 4: there at the end of the game, and the spot
- 43:22Speaker 4: that he took was Ellie Tolnan. Ellie Tolan's been struggling
- 43:25Speaker 4: to put pucks.
- 43:26Speaker 5: In the net.
- 43:26Speaker 4: So I think if if Lane Lambert's gonna stand by
- 43:30Speaker 4: his word, which is accountability across the entire roster, you're
- 43:34Speaker 4: starting to see it, and I think it's gonna pay
- 43:35Speaker 4: dividends later on the season.
- 43:37Speaker 6: Three point nine for a cold cough Field. Nick to
- 43:39Speaker 6: Zuki now a ten game point streak the krack can
- 43:42Speaker 6: get a three point effort out of Brandon on tour
- 43:44Speaker 6: and again showing why he is so valuable to this
- 43:48Speaker 6: team on this back end. Brandon on towar to this
- 43:51Speaker 6: team ever miss him, but of course waiting now for
- 43:54Speaker 6: the right time for him to come back, and our
- 43:55Speaker 6: heart will certainly go out to him and family as
- 43:58Speaker 6: well after he had a very very emotional return a
- 44:01Speaker 6: few mornings ago here as well. But again I go
- 44:04Speaker 6: back and look at what you're facing in the body
- 44:07Speaker 6: of work with Montreal, a very very young team but
- 44:11Speaker 6: yet a very skilled team, and it seemed as z
- 44:14Speaker 6: if Tony they were more dialed in and I heard
- 44:16Speaker 6: a great phrase about this checking with their legs. They
- 44:20Speaker 6: kept moving over and over and over and they just
- 44:22Speaker 6: made space so difficult for the first two periods.
- 44:24Speaker 4: Yeah, they absolutely did. And I think that checking with
- 44:26Speaker 4: your legs phrases is spot on. When you're checking with
- 44:29Speaker 4: your hands and your stick, you tend to take penalties.
- 44:31Speaker 4: And when you're checking with your legs, it's shoulders into
- 44:33Speaker 4: chests and it's hips into hips, and they were doing
- 44:36Speaker 4: a lot of that. I think that coupled with their speed,
- 44:39Speaker 4: their youth, Like I said, it was not giving Seattle
- 44:41Speaker 4: a lot of time to make decisions. And the only
- 44:43Speaker 4: way that Seattle could could push back on that was
- 44:46Speaker 4: better passing it was a little sloppy in the first
- 44:48Speaker 4: and second period, and better zone exits. And then, like
- 44:52Speaker 4: I said, traffic in front of dull batch which they
- 44:54Speaker 4: got late.
- 44:54Speaker 6: In the third, or getting some texts already piling in
- 44:56Speaker 6: four nine, four or five one on the kjir text line,
- 44:59Speaker 6: more concern Are you more optimistic based on this game's
- 45:02Speaker 6: outcome as a crack and again rally out of a
- 45:04Speaker 6: three to nothing hole in period three in fall four
- 45:07Speaker 6: three to the Montreal Canadians. We're also gonna hear from
- 45:10Speaker 6: Lane Lambert coming up in just a bit as he
- 45:13Speaker 6: is due to meet with the media. I do want
- 45:15Speaker 6: to go back here to Ali. You were talking about
- 45:17Speaker 6: the Kraken changing matters up with their line combinations in
- 45:22Speaker 6: period three. You and I talked about this end of
- 45:24Speaker 6: two periods of play, and it wouldn't be so surprising
- 45:26Speaker 6: to see what Lane Lambert did with some tweaks. That's
- 45:29Speaker 6: part of his m He's not afraid to go there
- 45:31Speaker 6: and go there quickly. So Schwartz, Stevenson, and Winterton together,
- 45:36Speaker 6: then march mint right, Tolvenan together, Tulvenan off the power play.
- 45:41Speaker 7: Catton goes on, how much are you concerned that this
- 45:44Speaker 7: is gonna be a long term thing?
- 45:45Speaker 8: Now?
- 45:45Speaker 5: Oh, I don't think it's gonna be a long term thing.
- 45:47Speaker 5: I think it was simply a reward thing. Capten had
- 45:49Speaker 5: a good game tonight.
- 45:50Speaker 4: He played sixteen plus minutes of hockey, I think his
- 45:52Speaker 4: highest time on the ice in the time he's been
- 45:54Speaker 4: here with the Kraken. He drew the penalty at the
- 45:57Speaker 4: end of the game there on the on the hook
- 45:59Speaker 4: of the try, whatever it was. He should have drawn
- 46:01Speaker 4: a second one when there was a jersey grab there
- 46:04Speaker 4: late in the third period as well that we all
- 46:06Speaker 4: saw the on the twins.
- 46:07Speaker 7: A little subtle interference that wasn't so subtle, right.
- 46:10Speaker 5: Right, but they let it go.
- 46:12Speaker 4: He falls down or he kind of pulls backwards on
- 46:14Speaker 4: that one. Maybe he draws a penalty there. He had
- 46:16Speaker 4: the assist on the goal, like he had a good
- 46:18Speaker 4: game tonight, so I like to see him getting rewarded
- 46:20Speaker 4: with time on the power play. I also think it's
- 46:23Speaker 4: a motivator as well, when you get pulled off the
- 46:25Speaker 4: power power play in the case of Ellie Tolven and
- 46:28Speaker 4: so good things can happen for both players in that situation.
- 46:31Speaker 6: Well, I take a look right now at the text
- 46:33Speaker 6: line again four nine four or five one, which kind
- 46:34Speaker 6: of looks like the duality of humanity right now. Again,
- 46:37Speaker 6: concern are more optimism based on this game's outcome, and
- 46:41Speaker 6: we're just getting a mixed bag as far as feedback
- 46:44Speaker 6: here from this one. Two OHO six says execution lacking
- 46:48Speaker 6: for forty five minutes. That was concerning three six. So optimistic.
- 46:53Speaker 6: But Joey Decord's got to make that save in overtime.
- 46:56Speaker 6: I'll start with you, you know, third period or the
- 47:00Speaker 6: ot goal. Which one is more on the goaltender versus
- 47:02Speaker 6: which one was this more of a goal scorer was finished.
- 47:05Speaker 5: Well, I'll take the third periods on the goaltender a
- 47:07Speaker 5: little bit more.
- 47:08Speaker 2: You know.
- 47:08Speaker 4: It was a one timer, which are always difficult for
- 47:10Speaker 4: goaltender to stop, but it hit Joey on the inside
- 47:13Speaker 4: of the leg and then finished off kind of leaking
- 47:16Speaker 4: through five hole. If he gets square to that shot
- 47:18Speaker 4: a little faster, maybe he makes that save. In the
- 47:20Speaker 4: case of the Cole Cawfield overtime goal, that's a goal
- 47:23Speaker 4: scorers goal. You know he goes hard behind the net.
- 47:25Speaker 4: Joey Decord takes off the or leans against that right post.
- 47:28Speaker 4: His foot's got it locked in there. At some point
- 47:31Speaker 4: he's got to decide is Cole Caulfield going around the
- 47:34Speaker 4: backside and going to try and wrap it around or
- 47:36Speaker 4: is he not. Joey Decord decided he was gonna try.
- 47:39Speaker 4: Came off the post, Colefield puts the brakes on, comes back.
- 47:43Speaker 4: Decord comes back. Jam's that foot there just seconds late,
- 47:47Speaker 4: and it's enough where Cole phil could not get the
- 47:49Speaker 4: pucking clean, but enough where he'd get it between the
- 47:52Speaker 4: foot and the post and jem it in.
- 47:54Speaker 6: Remember back at the game at Bell Center two weeks
- 47:57Speaker 6: ago and the ot goal he scored that was almost
- 47:59Speaker 6: some and a near impossible angle and right over the
- 48:02Speaker 6: shoulder of Joey to Cord, I think the krack and
- 48:04Speaker 6: have had enough.
- 48:04Speaker 7: A cold caught field.
- 48:05Speaker 5: I think they.
- 48:06Speaker 4: I think they have done that gold Coffield can can
- 48:09Speaker 4: be a healthy scratch the next time they they see him.
- 48:12Speaker 4: But you know, it wasn't a great game for goaltenders.
- 48:14Speaker 4: Both goaltenders had sub nine hundred save percentages. Joey's was
- 48:17Speaker 4: eight ten and Dolbeests was eight five to seven. It
- 48:20Speaker 4: was a goal scorers game. It was it was gonna
- 48:22Speaker 4: be fought in the trenches, and once again the Kraken
- 48:25Speaker 4: found themselves in that kind of a game.
- 48:27Speaker 6: Two O six saying optimistic because Shane Wright's showing that
- 48:30Speaker 6: he's a goal scorer, got a third of the season
- 48:32Speaker 6: and office trademark shot as well. I'll add to that
- 48:35Speaker 6: for the two o six, I gotta say optimistic. The
- 48:37Speaker 6: team feels different this year. It feels like they just
- 48:41Speaker 6: need some time to gel that. From the two to
- 48:44Speaker 6: oh six, I'll.
- 48:45Speaker 7: Lead in here to this.
- 48:46Speaker 6: We're gonna get to break in a bit and build
- 48:48Speaker 6: a lane. Lamber with his reaction from downstairs again the
- 48:51Speaker 6: crack and fall four three two Montreal Mike Benton Alkoniski
- 48:54Speaker 6: here at Tom's watch Bar, right across the streets from
- 48:57Speaker 6: Climbing Pledge Arena. But when you talk of out the
- 49:00Speaker 6: team in their system, you go around the room. You've
- 49:03Speaker 6: heard it, I've heard it. They already feel like most
- 49:06Speaker 6: of this is already dialed in. They're ahead of the
- 49:08Speaker 6: curve right now. But I get to this for your
- 49:10Speaker 6: first takeaway from this game, back earlier in post game
- 49:14Speaker 6: coverage playing Chase in the third period. Part of the
- 49:17Speaker 6: ingredients here of a team that is one hundred percent
- 49:20Speaker 6: locked in is that you're not playing Chase all the time.
- 49:22Speaker 6: Comebacks are fun, comebacks are great, but you can't play
- 49:25Speaker 6: Chase all the time in the NHL.
- 49:27Speaker 5: No, it's never part of the plan.
- 49:28Speaker 4: But you do like to have a team that has
- 49:31Speaker 4: the capacity to do that when it's necessary. So that's
- 49:34Speaker 4: why I see this as a positive.
- 49:35Speaker 5: Third period.
- 49:36Speaker 4: Listen, they snuck out a point they probably shouldn't have,
- 49:39Speaker 4: but they did because of what they did in the
- 49:41Speaker 4: third period. I see that as a positive. I'd like
- 49:43Speaker 4: to see the first two periods cleaned up in other areas.
- 49:46Speaker 4: You and I talked between the second and third period.
- 49:49Speaker 4: Shane right at that point was zero for six in
- 49:50Speaker 4: the dot. He finished two twenty percent. The team as
- 49:55Speaker 4: a whole was thirty nine percent in the faceoff dot.
- 49:57Speaker 4: That's got to get better. You know, they can win
- 49:59Speaker 4: high games when it's fifty to fifty, forty five, fifty five,
- 50:03Speaker 4: but when it's that one sided sixty one percent for Montreal,
- 50:07Speaker 4: it just means they're coming out of the faceoff dots
- 50:09Speaker 4: too quickly with the puck in. Leane Lambert has said
- 50:12Speaker 4: that's not just the faceoff man, that's also his wingers
- 50:15Speaker 4: and his defenseman behind him. They've got to contribute to
- 50:17Speaker 4: getting that face off win. So there's something in there
- 50:20Speaker 4: that they've got to work on to get more of
- 50:22Speaker 4: those face off wins.
- 50:23Speaker 6: Fifteen to nine block shots in favor of Montreal, as
- 50:26Speaker 6: you pointed out, traffic in front of Yakub dobsh that
- 50:28Speaker 6: got better in period three, but also as well your
- 50:31Speaker 6: third takeaway, no quit. That was again I think something
- 50:35Speaker 6: very very very important for this group because it's not
- 50:37Speaker 6: so much a strategy or a system thing, but it
- 50:41Speaker 6: was more of like a hard check.
- 50:42Speaker 7: It was more of a gut check, and they certainly
- 50:44Speaker 7: have it. Yeah.
- 50:45Speaker 4: I mean the outcome didn't go as I had written
- 50:47Speaker 4: written it down as the script, which was the crack
- 50:49Speaker 4: and comeback, tied up and win it in overtime. Montour
- 50:52Speaker 4: gets two in regulation in the overtime winner and we
- 50:54Speaker 4: all go home, you know, feeling good about Monte getting
- 50:56Speaker 4: a hat trick.
- 50:57Speaker 5: That's the way I would have liked to seeing go down.
- 51:00Speaker 5: It didn't.
- 51:01Speaker 4: But like I said, you can take a lot out
- 51:03Speaker 4: of this game, the no quick mentality, the o backdown mentality.
- 51:07Speaker 4: If this team is gonna fight to the bitter end
- 51:09Speaker 4: every single game, I think they're gonna end up on
- 51:11Speaker 4: the right side of some of these situations.
- 51:13Speaker 6: Hey, font to get this one to OT now five
- 51:16Speaker 6: two and three on the season, as Montreal gets the
- 51:18Speaker 6: ot winner four to three. Your final from Climbent Pledgerina.
- 51:21Speaker 6: We're across the street at Tom's watch bar. Mike Benton
- 51:24Speaker 6: alkiniski with you. We'll come back after this here postgame
- 51:28Speaker 6: comments from crackinghead coach Lane Lambert. This is Tucking Krakeing
- 51:32Speaker 6: on ninety three to three KJRFM.
- 51:36Speaker 2: Now back to Ducking Kracking with Mike Bnton on your
- 51:40Speaker 2: home of a Krack.
- 51:40Speaker 5: In sports Radio Letty three point three kJ r FM.
- 51:45Speaker 6: Right next door to Climbent Pledgerina is Tom's watch bar.
- 51:48Speaker 6: That's where we're at as a crack and fall four
- 51:50Speaker 6: three to Montreal in overtime. Mike Benton alkiniski with you.
- 51:54Speaker 6: Let's check back in downstairs, head coach Lane Lambert.
- 51:57Speaker 7: Right now, meeting with the media.
- 52:00Speaker 24: Is the biggest difference offensively the last eleven.
- 52:05Speaker 17: I m so uh, I thought.
- 52:09Speaker 24: I thought we passed up too many shots, uh, or
- 52:12Speaker 24: opportunities I guess to shoot in the first certainly in
- 52:16Speaker 24: the first little bit. And then you know, we've found
- 52:20Speaker 24: ways to to get a few more Bucks to the
- 52:22Speaker 24: net and and get him in.
- 52:24Speaker 17: Obviously we did a really good job six on five.
- 52:27Speaker 24: Uh, you know, and then our power play scored a
- 52:30Speaker 24: big goal for us to get us going.
- 52:31Speaker 17: And again it's just another shot. You know, there was.
- 52:37Speaker 24: Power plays at the start of the game where we
- 52:38Speaker 24: just passed around. We got to get bucks at that
- 52:41Speaker 24: was the.
- 52:41Speaker 21: Energy level where you wanted it for the opening two
- 52:43Speaker 21: peros at as opposed to it, things.
- 52:45Speaker 2: Got a little desperately.
- 52:46Speaker 17: No, no, I I think you uh, you probably know
- 52:50Speaker 17: the answer to that question.
- 52:52Speaker 24: And I'm pretty sure that the players have probably talked
- 52:54Speaker 24: about the fact that, uh, you know, we weren't very good,
- 52:58Speaker 24: certainly in the first period.
- 53:01Speaker 17: And there's no excuse for it, and you know, we'll
- 53:04Speaker 17: have to be better.
- 53:05Speaker 25: Uh.
- 53:05Speaker 24: We've started games pretty well consistently in this uh so
- 53:10Speaker 24: far in this season, but this was not one of them.
- 53:13Speaker 17: And you know, you can't you can't afford.
- 53:15Speaker 1: To do that.
- 53:19Speaker 16: Uh.
- 53:19Speaker 3: We mentioned that power play kind of passing it around
- 53:21Speaker 3: earlier on it is that reason you started to roll
- 53:24Speaker 3: out of the second unit third when they ultimately were
- 53:27Speaker 3: that decision.
- 53:28Speaker 24: Well, I think that we needed to make a little
- 53:29Speaker 24: bit of a switch to see what was gonna happen.
- 53:32Speaker 24: And you know, obviously it worked, So that doesn't you know,
- 53:36Speaker 24: it doesn't take away from anything, uh you know, in
- 53:39Speaker 24: terms of it, that's.
- 53:40Speaker 17: Why we have two units. If one isn't going, we
- 53:42Speaker 17: we have to go with the other one lane.
- 53:46Speaker 11: What can you say about Brandon Montule's heart and determination today?
- 53:50Speaker 17: Yeah, I mean, uh, you know, he's uh I expect nothing, uh,
- 53:55Speaker 17: nothing less than that.
- 53:58Speaker 24: Just a character guy obviously, and you know, he played
- 54:03Speaker 24: a whale of a game and and you know he
- 54:06Speaker 24: certainly had a couple of big, uh big situations for
- 54:10Speaker 24: us and helped us, uh at least secure a point.
- 54:13Speaker 25: Maybe on that front, the fact that he's been with
- 54:15Speaker 25: you relatively so little, both through training camp cause of
- 54:17Speaker 25: the injury and then be in a way here for
- 54:19Speaker 25: a week, he's kind of surprised that he's been able
- 54:21Speaker 25: to play at this kind.
- 54:22Speaker 17: Of level for you given given that, uh no, not really.
- 54:28Speaker 24: You know, he's he's an elite player and uh, you know,
- 54:31Speaker 24: he he sees plays he can skate, you know so, uh, I,
- 54:37Speaker 24: I guess your your question is real fair am I surprised,
- 54:43Speaker 24: you know, he's he's doing a great job considering you're
- 54:46Speaker 24: you're not wrong there.
- 54:47Speaker 25: And then you mentioned maybe lacking energy for the vind
- 54:50Speaker 25: Did you feel like Joanny kind of going after Doc
- 54:53Speaker 25: there after the hit on Myers maybe helped get you
- 54:54Speaker 25: guys going a little bit of fir.
- 54:57Speaker 17: I think it was fantastic.
- 54:59Speaker 1: Uh.
- 54:59Speaker 24: You know, that's that's you know, we have to be
- 55:02Speaker 24: team tough, and when one of our teammates gets hit,
- 55:05Speaker 24: which we consider to be a dirty hit, we have
- 55:08Speaker 24: to stand up for him.
- 55:08Speaker 17: And I thought it was. It was a good momentum turner, right,
- 55:13Speaker 17: thank you.
- 55:15Speaker 6: I remember meeting with the media, Mike Benton Alcinski with
- 55:18Speaker 6: you back nearby climate pledge. We're gonna at Tom's watch bar.
- 55:21Speaker 6: I first want to go back here to the Ben
- 55:23Speaker 6: Myers to I mean again the Kraken. We're on the
- 55:25Speaker 6: fast track here to dropping this one and what kind
- 55:28Speaker 6: of felt like a bit of a clunker, and again
- 55:30Speaker 6: I go back to the heart equation of this here
- 55:33Speaker 6: for period three when they came back, they wasted no
- 55:37Speaker 6: time jumping into the mix.
- 55:38Speaker 7: Once Ben Myers was hit.
- 55:40Speaker 4: No, I love that you see Ben Myers ticket take
- 55:42Speaker 4: a bad hit and Yon and him was the first
- 55:44Speaker 4: one in on there, and you see three other guys
- 55:46Speaker 4: quickly come in and smother the assailant. And that's what
- 55:50Speaker 4: you want and team tough. It's not always about grabbing
- 55:52Speaker 4: somebody and just punching him at the fact that you're
- 55:55Speaker 4: gonna step in there and say not acceptable, and the
- 55:58Speaker 4: price might be paid there or it might be paid later,
- 56:01Speaker 4: but just skating away turning away, that also sends a
- 56:05Speaker 4: message to the team you're playing that you can get
- 56:07Speaker 4: away with that stuff. So I think that there definitely
- 56:09Speaker 4: was a turning point at that after that hit and
- 56:12Speaker 4: things started to go in the Crackings Cracking's direction. But
- 56:15Speaker 4: I want to talk about something else, Lane Lambert say,
- 56:18Speaker 4: which was giving up too many shots. Yes, in the
- 56:20Speaker 4: first part of the game. Yes, there were too many
- 56:22Speaker 4: times where and I saw Berkeley Katton do it one
- 56:24Speaker 4: time where he came through the slot. He tried to
- 56:26Speaker 4: make a drop past to Maddie. When you're in the slot,
- 56:29Speaker 4: you're on your forehand, you're coming through, let her ripe,
- 56:32Speaker 4: you know, put the biscuit on the basket because in this.
- 56:35Speaker 5: Game there weren't a lot of shots on goal.
- 56:37Speaker 4: The goaltenders didn't play that great and you got traffic
- 56:39Speaker 4: in front, put the puck on net.
- 56:41Speaker 6: And we go back to the middle portion of what
- 56:44Speaker 6: Lane Lambert reacted to. And I think in the first
- 56:46Speaker 6: period this is all about never settling again. You come
- 56:49Speaker 6: back from down three goals. You know, teams will tend
- 56:51Speaker 6: to find some silver linings and really in some cases
- 56:54Speaker 6: it's appropriate here, but in something like this and being
- 56:57Speaker 6: so early in the season, this is basically message here
- 57:00Speaker 6: to say, stay away from bad habits.
- 57:02Speaker 4: Yeah, absolutely, And again you know, games like this are
- 57:06Speaker 4: opportunities to learn lessons and bad habits for one of them.
- 57:10Speaker 4: If those if those lessons are heard, they're understood. If
- 57:12Speaker 4: they look at film and understand what the coaching taf
- 57:15Speaker 4: are trying to educate them on in terms of what
- 57:18Speaker 4: they want them to do or what they don't want
- 57:19Speaker 4: them to do, that stuff gets fixed and you it
- 57:22Speaker 4: pays dividends down the road.
- 57:23Speaker 6: Heart certainly got them right back into the mix and
- 57:25Speaker 6: the krack and fighting back for an overtime point tonight,
- 57:28Speaker 6: falling four three. Here to Montreal. Before we get out
- 57:31Speaker 6: of here, a quick look at the New York Rangers.
- 57:33Speaker 6: They beat the Canucks here to nine to two nothing,
- 57:35Speaker 6: but they're still a team that is wobbling right now
- 57:37Speaker 6: under head coach Mike Sullivan and beginning this season as
- 57:41Speaker 6: well with a pretty rocky start. When you look at
- 57:44Speaker 6: the picture early on here, it is very early, but
- 57:48Speaker 6: four five and two, I think they had different expectations
- 57:51Speaker 6: in how they began this season. But it's gonna be
- 57:53Speaker 6: a fun one here, I think when you consider some
- 57:56Speaker 6: motivation on both sides. Ryan Lynn Grin former Ranger, maybe
- 57:59Speaker 6: couple Cocco will see if he's activated here for this
- 58:02Speaker 6: game he's getting better, but also will Borgan on the
- 58:04Speaker 6: Rangers side.
- 58:05Speaker 4: Yeah, it's going to be an exciting Saturday night here
- 58:07Speaker 4: at Climate Pledgerina for all those reasons you just said.
- 58:10Speaker 4: And this team needs more offensive punch. They need Coppocco
- 58:14Speaker 4: to come back, they need Jared mccanna come back. And
- 58:16Speaker 4: you know, when this team is healthy, the sky's the limit.
- 58:20Speaker 6: We will be seeing this one come up here with
- 58:23Speaker 6: also the debut of the new crack and third Jersey
- 58:25Speaker 6: as a cracking trying to answer a challenge against one
- 58:28Speaker 6: of the tallest teams in the NHL and ranked by wait,
- 58:33Speaker 6: the seven heaviest team as well in the NHL, that
- 58:36Speaker 6: being the New York Rangers. And they'll come in here
- 58:38Speaker 6: at the end of a four game road trip. That's
- 58:41Speaker 6: all the time we have here. Our thanks here to
- 58:43Speaker 6: the entire crew of Tom's Watch Bar, also to Travis
- 58:46Speaker 6: Moger technical director, Terry Ryan, our on site engineer, and
- 58:50Speaker 6: that we'll do it for here. We also thank you
- 58:51Speaker 6: for your reaction for the entire evening for al Kiniski.
- 58:54Speaker 6: This is Mike Benton saying good night from Tom's Watch Bar,
- 58:58Speaker 6: and again your final score from I'm a Pledgerina in
- 59:01Speaker 6: sudden depth overtime the Montreal Canadians four and the Seattle
- 59:05Speaker 6: Kraken three.
- 59:07Speaker 7: This is Tucking Kraken on ninety three to three kJ RFM.
