- 0:00SPEAKER_01: Hey, welcome to Trap Souls Podcast.
- 0:02SPEAKER_01: I'm here with Dark Water Tours, April and Jeremy from Mississippi.
- 0:07SPEAKER_01: So, what part of Mississippi are you guys from?
- 0:09SPEAKER_00: We are in uh Gose, Mississippi.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: And thank you for having us, by the way.
- 0:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, thank you.
- 0:15SPEAKER_01: Oh no, thank you for coming.
- 0:17SPEAKER_01: I love talking to a whole bunch of different groups.
- 0:19SPEAKER_01: Um, try to get a whole bunch of you guys do tours, so that's kind of cool.
- 0:22SPEAKER_01: I don't think I've had a tour company on before, besides, I mean, I've had Haunted Havens on, she does a whole bunch of events, but you guys actually are specific to the area.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: So that's kind of cool.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: And you guys are more down by the whatever you want, Gulf of Mexico, Gulf of America, right?
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 0:40SPEAKER_01: Right, right.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: Personal preference there these days.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: The golf.
- 0:45SPEAKER_01: We'll just call it the golf.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: That's right.
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: The golf.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: If you're familiar with Biloxi, um, we are about two towns over uh from Biloxi.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: Of course, we've got the beaches and the casinos, and um we moved here from Tennessee.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: What has it been six years now?
- 1:04SPEAKER_03: Six years now, yeah.
- 1:05SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: And uh it was kind of a culture shock because um we moved from Murphy's roll, Tennessee, uh big college town.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: And um, we don't even have a Walmart here.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: So um that was interesting.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: Uh we did move during COVID also, and so we did a lot of our house hunting uh via Zoom, remote, like remote.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: And um so we really didn't know a whole lot about the area.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: Uh my parents were coming down here, checking out the casinos, and they would come home and talk about how beautiful it was and all the pretty homes on stilts, and so I serious, but joking also said, um, well, before our daughter starts kindergarten, why don't we just sell our houses and move?
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: And that's exactly what we did.
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: So I was down in Biloxi for my son's.
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: We went down there for Christmas because he was at tech school at the Air Force Base down there, and I'll tell you what, I ate shrimp tacos every day.
- 2:03SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: I mean unbelievable.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, um, it was Christmas time, not really much going on there.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: I said, but you got casinos, everything.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: So, like, let's talk about the paranormal in that area.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: There's a lot of history in that area.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: So, what drew you to the paranormal around that area?
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: So, just in general, um, it's something that uh I guess I have to say has been attached to me more than I've been attached to it uh initially.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: Um had tons of experiences myself when I was younger, uh even to the point to where I wasn't even really sure that weird things were happening.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: I thought that they were just I thought everybody else was experiencing similar things.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: Um, we lived in a house that was was haunted when I was a kid, and I grew up hearing all those stories, and so it's just something that I've always been into.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: And um, Jeremy and I met and married 10 years ago, and that was one thing that we had in common uh was the paranormal.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: Um, and to be honest with you, uh we honeymooned in New Orleans.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: We I call that my soul city.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: Um, just absolutely love it.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: And so um, so yeah, I mean it's just something that we've always yeah, we've always just kind of drawn to it.
- 3:27SPEAKER_02: Anytime we go on any kind of trip or anywhere we go on vacation, we always look for any kind of tours or any kind of paranormal investigations we can do.
- 3:36SPEAKER_02: It's that we we love history and we love the paranormal.
- 3:39SPEAKER_02: So we decided to kind of combine the both of those.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: I mean, you have you have to love both of them, I believe.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 3:47SPEAKER_01: So, did you guys have a tour company up in Tennessee or is this something you started down in Mississippi?
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: No, we we didn't have anything in Tennessee.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: Um when we moved down here, uh, we noticed that there wasn't any type of immersive experience.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: Um, I mean, my goodness, we we don't even have like um what are they called, the escape rooms.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: You know, unfortunately, where we live with the hurricanes, things get built and then they get destroyed.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: And slowly but surely the coast of Mississippi is trying to rebuild.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: Um, but I'm sure, you know, just like any coastal town, you slow roll it, you know, for fear of what what hurricane is going to take it out next.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, so we noticed that there wasn't anything like that around.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: And I don't know if you uh visited Ocean Springs when you were in Bloxy, you know, visiting your son, but it is, I mean, it's a beautiful town.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: It's beautiful.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: It it's um, you know, mossy oak trees lining the streets, it's not very big.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: Um, tons of history in ocean springs, and it is right on the water.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: And so we were just like, why not?
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: Perfect spot, why not?
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: So we got to work.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: And here we are, dark waters tours.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: So I mean a lot of people like you talk about like the hurricanes and everything getting, you know, I guess destroyed, you want to call it.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: I hate to call it that, but that's what happens.
- 5:19SPEAKER_01: Um but there's still a lot of history in that ground.
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: And just because a building is gone doesn't mean the paranormal's gone.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 5:29SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 5:29SPEAKER_00: It doesn't a lot of people, it is funny that you say that because a lot of people um will say, Well, it's a new house, it can't be haunted.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: Well, how old is the land?
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: You know, like it that's the question, right?
- 5:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so I mean, what are your favorite spots out there?
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: I mean, you guys, I'm I'm assuming you guys investigate too, just don't do tours, but like in Mississippi, I've never investigated Mississippi.
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: What are some of the hot spots out there?
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: Like, well, believe it or not, uh, Mississippi does not have a whole lot.
- 6:01SPEAKER_00: Um, North Mississippi and Vicksburg, they have uh a beautiful place called McRaven Home.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: Um, and that's pretty popular.
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: Um, there is also a place called the House in Between in Florence, Mississippi.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: Um let's see a couple of the paranormal uh teams.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: Let's see, who is it?
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: Not not the group with Jason Hawes, but um something Gonzalez.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: I can't even think of his name right now.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: I'm almost spot.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: But um a couple of paranormal teams, the TV shows have been out there.
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: And last year I went and it was interesting.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: Um, but really, I mean, Mississippi is not oversaturated the way that the north is.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: I mean, there I'm I'm jealous that there are so many more places to investigate, to visit, to tour.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: Um, and you would think that being in the south that you would have just as much.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: Um, but we don't, we don't, we don't have a whole lot of places.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: We do have a special place here um in town called Pasagula.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: Um, it is called the um Le Pointe Krebs House and Museum.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: And uh it was built in was it um I can't remember the exact date.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: 1857.
- 7:18SPEAKER_02: 1757.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: 1757.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: And we just recently um was granted permission to go in there and do a public investigation.
- 7:26SPEAKER_00: We are amateur um paranormal enthusiasts.
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: Yes, so you know, um learning new stuff every day.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: Definitely, definitely.
- 7:36SPEAKER_00: I I I want to give a shout out to Zach Meekins um with Alone in the Dark, actually, because he has been so helpful with the equipment and he put us on the Phasma box.
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: And when we went last couple weeks ago to the Pointe Crub's house and did our public investigation, um it was a hit.
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: I mean, it you know, uh a lot of activity, so much activity and more than what we even expected.
- 8:03SPEAKER_00: We had been out to the property, we'd heard the stories, we had interviewed a lot of people, um, been out there a lot and done our own little investigations and things like that before we brought people in.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: And it wasn't quiet to say the least.
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: But once we brought in that Phasma box, um, we were pretty impressed.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: So we appreciate you know the help there.
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, um, but yeah, the La Pointe Crab's house is not on the paranormal map, so to speak.
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: Um love to get it on there because it's just, I mean, the history there is unreal.
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: So yeah, Zach is awesome.
- 8:40SPEAKER_01: I mean, he was on my show a while ago, I think, but he's always willing to help everybody out.
- 8:45SPEAKER_01: He's just a good guy.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I had just posted on one of the groups, you know, point me in the right direction of a tripwire.
- 8:55SPEAKER_00: And here you come.
- 8:56SPEAKER_00: And so he answered a couple of questions, and then one thing led to another, he was like, Oh, yeah, by the way, you should look into this, and so it was we really appreciate it.
- 9:04SPEAKER_01: Did you guys get the tripwire then?
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: We did, we did.
- 9:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I emailed you because I had the guy who makes it was on my show also that for my okay, okay.
- 9:14SPEAKER_01: So I was like, uh, he's the original maker of it.
- 9:16SPEAKER_01: I know there's probably some other ones out there, but I know what work he puts into those right.
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: A lot of people suggested him for sure.
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: So another shout out to North Canton for sure.
- 9:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they're awesome.
- 9:28SPEAKER_01: Um you guys talked about being amateurs and investigators.
- 9:33SPEAKER_01: I think that's better when you're doing tours, especially showing people places because you're learning too, right?
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: Right, and there's too many people out there just too comfortable and they think they know everything.
- 9:46SPEAKER_01: And I mean it's it's cool to learn a little bit from those people, but when they're going into like the same thing you are and learning, I think they feel a lot more comfortable.
- 9:56SPEAKER_03: Yes, I agree.
- 9:58SPEAKER_01: And nothing bothers me more than people that think they know the answers to the paranormal.
- 10:04SPEAKER_01: We will never know.
- 10:06SPEAKER_00: No, absolutely not.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: I know, and you know, the day I I say this a lot, the day that I, you know, there are no more questions to ask, or I don't because even every time we go somewhere, I still I get a little freaked out, and that's the part that I love, you know.
- 10:23SPEAKER_03: The joy of it.
- 10:24SPEAKER_00: Um so the day that that stops happening, you know, onto something next, which I doubt that'll ever happen.
- 10:30SPEAKER_00: But no, I'm too invested.
- 10:34SPEAKER_01: But there was a point in time where I stopped getting like nervous about going into places, but that's where I like to feel I like to feel the fear a little bit, like I don't know what's gonna happen.
- 10:44SPEAKER_01: And it was a six, seven month span where I was like, I can walk in anywhere.
- 10:49SPEAKER_01: So I was pushing the limits a little bit, and they pushed back finally, and then now I'm like, okay, I felt that again.
- 10:57SPEAKER_01: Let's backtrack a little bit because it was fun, but I don't want it all the time.
- 11:01SPEAKER_01: But no, that's cool.
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's all about learning in this field, and you always learn.
- 11:07SPEAKER_01: You will get have you felt since you started to now a little more comfortable?
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: Oh, yes.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: So we've been on a lot of investigation, paid investigations.
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: You know, it's just something that we really enjoy to do.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: Like Jeremy said, when we go out of town, the first two things we do is find the haunted history book of whatever city, town that we're in, buy it, and then we find a history or you know, historical ghost walking tour.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: And um with the investigations, people would briefly tell us like what it is that we're doing.
- 11:45SPEAKER_00: And that was exciting because we didn't really know all the things, and like that's something that we have vowed to do is just like be a little more uh informative.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: So, as an example, um with the walking tour, um, they can add on dowsing rods or an EMF detector, and so explaining those to them, which is his job.
- 12:11SPEAKER_00: Um, I even hand him my recorder and I'm like, here, stop this.
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: Like, I let him handle all the equipment.
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: I don't know any, I don't know.
- 12:19SPEAKER_02: It gets them more engaged, you know, it gives them something to actually be involved with, involved in the investigation, kind of.
- 12:26SPEAKER_02: And that's something which, you know, going all these investigations that we've done, paid investigations, is like some of the things that they do and they say it just doesn't make any sense, doesn't add up.
- 12:39SPEAKER_02: And that's something that we've like we she said, we vowed to do when we started this, where we think we would be really good at this, is we know what we would want in an investigation, what we would enjoy doing and experiencing.
- 12:51SPEAKER_02: So, and and another thing, we we kind of like to debunk everything, you know, if something was to happen, and we were really gonna find out that if it actually happened or it didn't, um, because we we don't want any false positives there.
- 13:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 13:06SPEAKER_01: I mean, that's cool because, like you said, get people involved, like email detectors.
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: I don't really use them, but just walking around doing a tour, nothing's happening, then you have a new person doing a you know tour, and that thing spikes a little bit.
- 13:22SPEAKER_01: I mean, go up to light, go up two lights.
- 13:24SPEAKER_01: How excited do they get?
- 13:26SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 13:26SPEAKER_02: Right, exactly.
- 13:28SPEAKER_02: You know, and I mean anybody can walk around and just talk and point to a building, you know what I mean?
- 13:33SPEAKER_02: But you know, getting somebody a piece of equipment, getting them involved in it, um, getting them to actually see their face light up, get a little spooked a little bit, you know, that's what it's about for us, and you know, to get show them, shed some more light on the history of the town and let them have a little bit of excitement at the same time.
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: So, yeah, there's a lot of history down there, and I'm wondering why paranormal's not that big down there compared to like the north.
- 14:01SPEAKER_01: Right, is it because of the religious axe aspect?
- 14:05SPEAKER_00: If I had to guess, I would say good old bottle belt.
- 14:08SPEAKER_00: I would say so.
- 14:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean it's because you go to the Caribbean, they believe in the stuff.
- 14:14SPEAKER_01: Majority don't investigate it.
- 14:16SPEAKER_01: We know it's there, we leave it alone.
- 14:19SPEAKER_01: And I'm wondering if that's kind of got pushed up through 200 years into the Mississippi.
- 14:26SPEAKER_01: I mean, New Orleans is still huge, but I don't know how much they investigate in New Orleans.
- 14:32SPEAKER_02: They they they do quite a bit, they do.
- 14:35SPEAKER_02: Um, but what's an interesting fact about Ocean Springs is that it was incorporated in 1699.
- 14:41SPEAKER_02: That was the 300 years before New Orleans ever was incorporated over there.
- 14:46SPEAKER_02: So there's tons more history here before New Orleans ever started, and um that's what we're trying to do, like I said, shed more light and get things going down here because there's tons of it around, there's plenty of it.
- 15:00SPEAKER_02: Um, but uh we were talking just the other day all the shows that you see are all up north, yeah, you know, so it's uh I don't know.
- 15:09SPEAKER_02: We we just like to bring more people down here to see what we have to offer.
- 15:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and we didn't know um we we knew we wanted to have um like uh public investigations, but we weren't sure exactly what that was gonna look like.
- 15:27SPEAKER_00: And so that's I mean, I had already been a part of a lot of the Facebook groups, paranormal groups, things like that, uh for years.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: Um, and then once we opened up Darkwater tours, we you know suck our way in.
- 15:40SPEAKER_00: And I everybody has just been so friendly.
- 15:44SPEAKER_00: Uh at first I was like, nobody like we we're not gonna be part of the per annuity because we're not paranormal investigators, you know.
- 15:52SPEAKER_00: Um and so, but that's not the case.
- 15:55SPEAKER_00: That's we've been treated exceptionally well and we really appreciate it.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: We just, you know, we want to be a part of the community, and I I feel like we are.
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: Um, but we we're excited because um in middle of March, we're gonna do the haunted Fairbanks house in um Sicily Island, Louisiana.
- 16:16SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 16:17SPEAKER_00: Have you heard of that one?
- 16:17SPEAKER_00: The Fairbanks house?
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I've heard of it.
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: I've never been there though.
- 16:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 16:21SPEAKER_01: That's supposed to be pretty spooky.
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, there was a couple of episodes um that have aired on that one.
- 16:28SPEAKER_00: And so we're pretty excited.
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: Um, it's going to be the Louisiana Spirits that are uh hosting.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: Uh so we're just going as guests.
- 16:37SPEAKER_00: Um, we want to meet new people and um and learn and also have the experience ourselves.
- 16:44SPEAKER_00: I mean, like I said, it's right up our alley.
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: This is what we live for.
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: And then in let's see, a smart.
- 16:51SPEAKER_00: Um, oh, we're gonna do um, we're gonna have a booth at uh the New Orleans Paracon.
- 16:58SPEAKER_00: Um that kind of just like happened because at first we were like, well, what we got asked if we wanted to do that.
- 17:05SPEAKER_00: And I was like, well, what in the world would we do?
- 17:06SPEAKER_00: We don't have merchandise, we don't sell anything like that.
- 17:10SPEAKER_00: And so um we know a guy that runs a tour uh group in um New Orleans.
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: Uh they're the New Orleans Paranormal Society and fabulous guy.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: Um he pretty much very novel took us underneath his wing and um has helped us out a lot when it comes to um building um the tours and things like that.
- 17:30SPEAKER_00: Um, but anyway, uh so we're doing the the paracon just to kind of get eyes and um visibility and introduce ourselves because I know that if I'll drive to New Orleans, which we have, we went back November and did uh the Andrew Jackson Motel, which was on the bucket list for the longest time because it just standing out front gives you the chills.
- 17:56SPEAKER_00: Um so yeah, so we're gonna do the Paracon and then um at the that's the end of July and then middle of July, we are gonna go to St.
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: Louis, Missouri, uh, and meet up with um creations of uniqueness, the strange, dark, and mysterious market, and then um also explorers of the afterlife.
- 18:16SPEAKER_00: They're putting on like this camping trip um and gonna hang out during the day and then do some investigating at night.
- 18:23SPEAKER_00: And again, we're going just as guests.
- 18:26SPEAKER_00: I mean, we're still, you know, still new to the paid people that taking and doing all the things just like we want everybody to do, you know.
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: Come to our tour, we'll come to yours.
- 18:35SPEAKER_00: Like I had put out a post not too long ago, and I was like, all right, look, I need everybody to tell me who you're with, what group you're with, if you have a page, if you know, like I can't keep up, but it's slowly starting to all come together and I'm connecting the dots, and I mean it the community's huge, like humongous, blown away.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: I I love it, I love it, and like I had mentioned to you earlier, you know, I have had so many different experiences.
- 19:02SPEAKER_00: It just I can't help but not be, I don't know, it's just right up my alley.
- 19:07SPEAKER_00: Like, there's just really no other way to say it.
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: Like, this is my dream job.
- 19:11SPEAKER_00: Uh well, Josh Gates actually has my dream job, but that'll never happen.
- 19:15SPEAKER_01: So you guys do tours, you guys might cover your costs.
- 19:19SPEAKER_01: I mean, that's the way it is.
- 19:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and that's what we talked about when we started this, you know, is that we're we're not trying to get rich at doing anything like this.
- 19:27SPEAKER_02: We we we enjoy doing it, you know, and we enjoy getting together, and that's one of the best things about it.
- 19:33SPEAKER_02: We we do it as a family.
- 19:34SPEAKER_02: Our daughter even gets involved with it.
- 19:36SPEAKER_02: Um she's eight years old, she enjoys doing it.
- 19:40SPEAKER_02: Um, so that that's one of the things that we just love doing it, and that's why we want to get everybody else involved as well and come down here and get people to see we have more to offer than just beaches and casinos.
- 19:54SPEAKER_02: I mean, there's more to it than that.
- 19:57SPEAKER_01: So, do you guys get any backlash because your daughter's so young?
- 20:02SPEAKER_01: Um okay, that answers that question.
- 20:06SPEAKER_01: Go ahead.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: You know, it it is frowned upon a little bit.
- 20:13SPEAKER_00: Um the main thing that we get told a lot is, you know, you're gonna bring something home.
- 20:19SPEAKER_00: She's gonna bring something home.
- 20:22SPEAKER_00: Um I don't know.
- 20:23SPEAKER_02: Um as you protect yourself and do your prayers, you know, you you you're good.
- 20:28SPEAKER_00: Um our daughter does not go on full-blown investigations with us or anything like that.
- 20:34SPEAKER_00: But um, what she does enjoy doing is like the prep work, like when we first started going out to the point cribs before we opened it up to the public and we were doing our own little investigation.
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: She likes to walk through the cemetery with her dowsing rods and you know, um, and she also likes to listen to EVP recordings with Jeremy.
- 20:53SPEAKER_00: Um and so it, you know, but she also makes our little we've done a few videos with Raven, put it on TikTok and things like that.
- 21:04SPEAKER_02: But um she enjoys doing that, yeah.
- 21:06SPEAKER_02: She's she's a little actress.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: I'm not really worried about it because she's not full blown, you know.
- 21:11SPEAKER_00: She's not breaking out the Ouija board on Friday night saying, Can we have family night?
- 21:16SPEAKER_01: Game night, break out the Ouija board.
- 21:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 21:20SPEAKER_01: No, I mean, I I mean, honestly, I don't have a problem with that.
- 21:23SPEAKER_01: My daughter does it with me.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: I mean, she's older now, but she's I think she was 12 when she started going with me here and there.
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: But I mean, you're a mother, father, you're not gonna put your daughter in harm's way.
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: No, absolutely not.
- 21:37SPEAKER_01: And being even amateur investigators, as you call yourself, which you're more than amateurs.
- 21:45SPEAKER_01: But what do you think?
- 21:46SPEAKER_01: What do you think like friendly spirits to dark spirits are?
- 21:50SPEAKER_01: I mean, I believe there's like over 90% of spirits just want to be heard.
- 21:56SPEAKER_03: I agree.
- 21:58SPEAKER_02: So I mean.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: They're trapped or don't know what's going on and or just need help, you know.
- 22:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I don't think they're here to necessarily bother or hurt anybody.
- 22:11SPEAKER_01: I think they just want to be heard, right?
- 22:13SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 22:14SPEAKER_01: And remembered.
- 22:14SPEAKER_01: I mean, that's that's my biggest thing.
- 22:17SPEAKER_01: I always tell everybody a lot of people on my show is that I'm not here to try to find the answers to the afterlife.
- 22:23SPEAKER_01: I'll find that out sooner or later.
- 22:25SPEAKER_01: That's life.
- 22:26SPEAKER_01: Let's go out there and remember.
- 22:28SPEAKER_01: And that's what you're doing with the history.
- 22:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 22:31SPEAKER_01: You're remembering the history, which let's be honest, in this day and age, we try to erase history.
- 22:39SPEAKER_01: So you guys are keeping that alive, so to speak.
- 22:43SPEAKER_01: And you know, and that's a beautiful thing to me.
- 22:48SPEAKER_01: I mean, I can go to a place, get no action, but it's just cool to see that building or that place because of the history that it went through.
- 22:57SPEAKER_01: Um, I want to bring up one thing too, beaches.
- 23:00SPEAKER_01: Do you guys investigate beaches with all the shipwrecks?
- 23:03SPEAKER_01: I mean, I know they're miles off shore, but do you think there's something there?
- 23:10SPEAKER_00: I do, yeah.
- 23:11SPEAKER_00: Um, we but we have not investigated a whole lot um in on that side, but I definitely believe, I mean, I couldn't imagine that there wouldn't be um just I'm sure there is.
- 23:26SPEAKER_02: I'm sure there is a lot of activity.
- 23:28SPEAKER_02: Um, but yeah, we haven't had the chance or opportunity to get over to the doing that part of the investigations for the beaches or any shipwrecks or something like that, which would it'd be cool to do.
- 23:40SPEAKER_02: Um, but it's just you gotta know the right person, and that's what we're trying to do is try to network and get involved in some of these things and figure out how we can get to these investigations.
- 23:54SPEAKER_02: Okay, definitely.
- 23:55SPEAKER_00: A lot of private areas here is what Jeremy's talking about, like as far as like going investigating on.
- 24:01SPEAKER_00: We have like several public beach areas, um, but uh have you ever heard of the Singing River?
- 24:10SPEAKER_00: So uh long time ago there were two tribes and um they were fighting, and one of the tribes, Indian tribes, were getting uh the best of the other.
- 24:24SPEAKER_00: And so um one group, um, and I apologize, there's literally to the story, there's no like tribe A or tribe B, um, like any type of name or anything, but supposedly they they chose death over being like they walked into the water hand in hand and they were singing a song, and we have actually heard it.
- 24:44SPEAKER_00: You they claim that you can hear this humming, singing sound over in the Pasagula River over off by in Pasagula, Mississippi.
- 24:54SPEAKER_00: Um, and it is beautiful and eerie all at the same time.
- 24:59SPEAKER_00: Um, but like I said, they they just chose to just the whole clan to walk into the Pasagula River and and end it versus you know being taken out by the other tribe.
- 25:09SPEAKER_00: And like I said, we we have heard it.
- 25:11SPEAKER_00: Um it starts off, we've heard it twice.
- 25:13SPEAKER_00: Um, it starts off like um like a train slowing down on tracks, but then it turns into this and I I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it.
- 25:22SPEAKER_00: I love it, I love it.
- 25:23SPEAKER_01: So um, how big is this river?
- 25:26SPEAKER_01: Is it like huge or can you like kayak it or something?
- 25:31SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah, oh yeah, no, yeah, it's it's pretty, I don't even know.
- 25:34SPEAKER_02: I couldn't tell you how big it is, but it's pretty massive.
- 25:37SPEAKER_00: Um it goes into the Gulf.
- 25:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, the passage.
- 25:42SPEAKER_01: I mean, I'm just picturing it'd be very cool to do like an investigation, like kayak night investigation.
- 25:49SPEAKER_00: With like exactly, exactly take a red pod or something on your kayak.
- 25:53SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 25:54SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 25:54SPEAKER_00: We've knocked on the door uh of the um home, which is also historic itself, that is on the property where this happened, and uh we're still knocking.
- 26:05SPEAKER_01: So okay.
- 26:06SPEAKER_01: Uh I mean something different, you know.
- 26:11SPEAKER_01: Do you guys have alligators down there?
- 26:12SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh, yes, yes.
- 26:14SPEAKER_00: When we first moved here, there was one in the middle of the road, like you would see a deer crossing, and I was like, I don't know what to think about Mississippi, but oh yeah, and turtles and we call them trash pandas.
- 26:28SPEAKER_00: What's their real name?
- 26:29SPEAKER_00: What are they called?
- 26:31SPEAKER_01: Raccoon, trash panda raccoon, yeah.
- 26:35SPEAKER_01: We call them up the same thing up here, yeah.
- 26:38SPEAKER_00: Um, they actually call our city nature's playground because we have everything, we even have a black bear.
- 26:44SPEAKER_01: No joke.
- 26:46SPEAKER_01: So, yeah, we yeah, we don't have alligators, but we got trash pandas, and some bears will come through here every now and then migrating to the mountains.
- 26:57SPEAKER_01: So, but as long as we don't have alligators or poisonous snakes, that's all I care about.
- 27:02SPEAKER_01: Like that stuff scares me.
- 27:06SPEAKER_01: I'd rather walk into a haunted basement than deal with any of that stuff.
- 27:09SPEAKER_01: So right.
- 27:12SPEAKER_01: No, it's cool.
- 27:12SPEAKER_01: Mississippi's awesome, a lot of history.
- 27:15SPEAKER_01: Um, let's get into your investigations.
- 27:17SPEAKER_01: Like, have you ever gone into a place that you like kind of question like this is pretty bad in here?
- 27:27SPEAKER_00: No.
- 27:29SPEAKER_00: No.
- 27:30SPEAKER_00: And this is probably bizarre to say I'm sad that I haven't experienced that yet.
- 27:35SPEAKER_00: Um, I thought that it was gonna be like that at the House in Between in Florence, Mississippi, um, because of what I had heard about it and uh just poltergeist type activity and demonic and all the things.
- 27:48SPEAKER_00: And um, I remember one investigation that we did.
- 27:54SPEAKER_00: Um, this group of people was telling us this is the worst part of the house.
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: This is where everybody feels they get sick and be careful, you may pass out.
- 28:02SPEAKER_00: And I was like, I am so calm in this room.
- 28:06SPEAKER_00: Well, then we ended up going upstairs, and that was the room that I was like, what is happening in here?
- 28:11SPEAKER_00: But it still wasn't anything that I kind of felt like maybe we shouldn't be here.
- 28:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean it's hard when you are hyped up to it, it could go either way, right?
- 28:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you know, you can influence yourself into thinking you are sick or nothing, right?
- 28:30SPEAKER_01: I mean usually no in-between.
- 28:33SPEAKER_01: So I don't do I don't do history before before I go to a new place.
- 28:38SPEAKER_01: That's just my thing.
- 28:40SPEAKER_01: I go and buying because I don't want to be influenced.
- 28:42SPEAKER_01: Right now, if I get stuff, I'll go back, I'll do history, then go back.
- 28:46SPEAKER_01: Because I don't want to be because you guys use a whole bunch of equipment too, like as you said, EVPs.
- 28:53SPEAKER_01: If you hear the word Sarah, you know, there's a go Sarah in here, and you go over EVP, you're probably gonna hear the word Sarah.
- 29:02SPEAKER_01: So I don't like to be influenced.
- 29:04SPEAKER_01: That's just me.
- 29:05SPEAKER_01: A lot of people are like, you have to do the history.
- 29:07SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I will just after the fact.
- 29:11SPEAKER_00: After it is cooler to find out after because it's like it's that aha moment, like like, no way, we actually we caught that.
- 29:18SPEAKER_00: Like, I didn't realize that this was, you know, gonna happen or or that this was a thing, you know.
- 29:26SPEAKER_00: Um, at the LePointe Crux house that we did um the investigation a couple weeks ago, we didn't tell anybody any of the reported things for that very reason.
- 29:38SPEAKER_00: Um, we were we wanted them to experience things on their own and not be influenced.
- 29:44SPEAKER_00: Like I, you know, I mean, when you hear tour company, a lot of people probably think, oh, well, they're about jump scares and they they're fabricating things and making stuff up.
- 29:54SPEAKER_00: And, you know, we don't have to.
- 29:57SPEAKER_00: We we, you know, the stories are there, the situations have happened.
- 30:03SPEAKER_00: We took a guy on a tour that was total skeptic and nice guy.
- 30:08SPEAKER_00: Um, but he let us know from the jump that you don't believe in.
- 30:11SPEAKER_00: He don't believe his wife dragged him out.
- 30:13SPEAKER_00: We said, Okay, cool.
- 30:14SPEAKER_00: You know, um, the very first thought was the LN Railroad Depot in Ocean Springs, and he was standing back a little bit and we were talking and explaining and going over the history part of it.
- 30:26SPEAKER_00: And uh somebody he called somebody over, but anyway, we he said that he was seeing like this shadow peek around a door frame.
- 30:35SPEAKER_00: And so we all stood back and looked, and it was like a 10-foot, you know, in the older homes and spaces back then, they would have the the windows above the doors that you could crank open and it's to let the draft in and things like that, like ventilation.
- 30:50SPEAKER_00: And um, that's where he was seeing.
- 30:52SPEAKER_00: Well, then next thing you know, we all started seeing it.
- 30:55SPEAKER_00: So he was like, Okay, you know, like I didn't expect anything to happen.
- 31:00SPEAKER_00: And we tell people, you know, the spirits are not circus animals.
- 31:04SPEAKER_00: We cannot guarantee that any story that we tell you that you'll see or hear or feel.
- 31:10SPEAKER_00: Um we have another um stop that part of the story is where the woman was, you know, she would always sit on our front porch and um just kind of keep an eye on the neighborhood.
- 31:22SPEAKER_00: And um every time we stop there, no matter what, if it's the 6:30 tour or the nine o'clock tour, if the winds blow it, like if it's windy out, it doesn't matter.
- 31:35SPEAKER_00: That one spot every time everybody's hair will just whoosh, just like and it's unexplained.
- 31:42SPEAKER_00: We we don't know, you know.
- 31:44SPEAKER_00: Um, and so yeah, so it like I said, um, nothing made up.
- 31:48SPEAKER_00: We don't do jump scare, we don't, you know.
- 31:51SPEAKER_02: If it happens, it happens, if it doesn't, it doesn't, you know.
- 31:54SPEAKER_02: And that's why we we enjoy doing it.
- 31:56SPEAKER_02: It's because you never know what you're gonna get with it for sure.
- 32:00SPEAKER_00: And I have to tell you, too, at at the LePointe Crebs house, we had our tripwire out, and we started it off, we started it off with no sound, and then we moved over to another part of the house, and then we came back.
- 32:14SPEAKER_00: We didn't take the tripwire with us, we were just doing like different segments of different things, and um that tripwire did not go off one time.
- 32:22SPEAKER_00: It was fine, it was fine, but at the very end, when we were thanking the house and thanking whoever interacted with us the whole entire time for allowing us to be there and to talk to us, it went off.
- 32:33SPEAKER_00: It was the coolest thing we we were able to catch that on camera, and so that to me meant more than seeing it go to see it go off randomly the whole entire time because it was kind of like you're welcome, bye, you know, it was pretty cool.
- 32:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I I love the tripwire because you have to get within like two inches for that thing to go off.
- 32:52SPEAKER_01: It's not like the dead belt where you can be four or five feet away from it, you know.
- 32:55SPEAKER_01: If you have your phone, it'll go off.
- 32:57SPEAKER_01: Uh the tripwire is like my go-to besides my recorder, and that's I love that thing, so that's all I'm gonna say about that.
- 33:06SPEAKER_00: But I mean no, anything like the Phasma box that I had mentioned.
- 33:11SPEAKER_01: Have you I have not used the Phasma box yet?
- 33:14SPEAKER_01: I'm supposed to do an investigation with future ghosts coming up, and they're pretty tight-knit with Lona and Dark, so maybe they'll have one.
- 33:22SPEAKER_01: Uh I've heard it.
- 33:23SPEAKER_01: I've been trying to get a fent box made for six months.
- 33:27SPEAKER_01: Supposedly, I might get one this summer.
- 33:29SPEAKER_01: We will see, but I mean um, I love my spirit box, I use that all the time.
- 33:35SPEAKER_01: That's like my go-to.
- 33:36SPEAKER_01: If nothing's really happening, I'll break out the spirit box.
- 33:40SPEAKER_01: I mean, obviously, the recorder you don't know till you know a week later, so you don't know what you got, but evp wise, I'm an EVP junkie.
- 33:51SPEAKER_01: I'll record if I'm in a place eight hours, I'm recording seven hours and 45 minutes.
- 33:56SPEAKER_01: And I will listen to that for seven hours and 45 minutes.
- 33:59SPEAKER_01: If I get one EVP, I'm happy.
- 34:01SPEAKER_00: Right, yes, right.
- 34:03SPEAKER_00: Um talking about the uh gentleman that um found you know was founder of Villa Point Krebs was Hugo Krebs.
- 34:10SPEAKER_00: That was one of them.
- 34:11SPEAKER_00: And you know, rule of thumb, and you know this probably better than us that if one person hears it, you know, it probably wasn't that.
- 34:20SPEAKER_00: But if two or three people hear it, then that's what it was.
- 34:23SPEAKER_03: That's what it was.
- 34:24SPEAKER_00: Um, and uh we got some really cool uh Hugo came through on the Phasma box.
- 34:30SPEAKER_00: Um, we even had a little girl that said blowing kisses, like in a sing song voice.
- 34:35SPEAKER_00: Um that was that was pretty cool.
- 34:37SPEAKER_00: And so uh there's a lady there.
- 34:40SPEAKER_00: Well, she was there.
- 34:41SPEAKER_00: Her name is Julie Remy, and she was an African-American sleep slave back then, and they loved her.
- 34:47SPEAKER_00: And so when Hugo was on his deathbed, um he put in his will that uh you know his executor was to continue with the emancipation of Julia.
- 34:56SPEAKER_00: And so that's what happened.
- 34:58SPEAKER_00: But then once she was emancipated, they kept her on the property and gave her her own house, and she took care of the kids, and every just everybody loved her.
- 35:07SPEAKER_00: Well, she's the only African-American that's buried in the family cemetery.
- 35:10SPEAKER_00: Um, and so when we heard the singing, we started talking to Julia and asking, you know, is that you?
- 35:17SPEAKER_00: You know, do you sing to the children?
- 35:19SPEAKER_00: And we got a lot of responses from that.
- 35:22SPEAKER_01: So but I I was excited, like for like three days.
- 35:27SPEAKER_01: I was so excited.
- 35:27SPEAKER_01: I wouldn't post it or anything.
- 35:29SPEAKER_01: I was like, I just got to create a video for this and everything.
- 35:31SPEAKER_00: So oh, that's awesome.
- 35:33SPEAKER_00: That's one of the reasons why we like Raven to help us with listening, because she either hears something or she doesn't.
- 35:39SPEAKER_00: There's no influence whatsoever, like for us to be there and to remember the conversation or the questions that are asked.
- 35:46SPEAKER_00: And you know, speaking of that, the Estes method, that is like one of my favorites.
- 35:52SPEAKER_00: I absolutely love that one.
- 35:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I I was watching um one of your episodes last week or week before that, and or the other day, you were talking about you guys were gonna get blindfolded and handcuffed or something like that.
- 36:06SPEAKER_01: Like, I was gonna read that out, but yeah, we're doing that.
- 36:09SPEAKER_00: I was like, I'm gonna be blindfolded and handcuffed and see what happens.
- 36:14SPEAKER_00: I want in on that.
- 36:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, people keep inviting me these to investigations, they're probably gonna stop sooner or later.
- 36:23SPEAKER_01: I keep telling me you invited me because I love playing games, but it's not there's a reason I like playing games because I think it helps with the investigation.
- 36:33SPEAKER_01: I mean, you gotta think we're gonna be in a prison, they were handcuffed, we're gonna do it where they were in an electric chair, and they were strapped down and they were blindfolded.
- 36:47SPEAKER_01: So that's gonna bring some spirits out.
- 36:49SPEAKER_01: Maybe they have something to tell us.
- 36:51SPEAKER_01: And that's why I'm huge in solos, also, and I always try to push my team to do solos, and they don't like doing solos.
- 36:58SPEAKER_01: But I'm like, we do poorhouses, we do hospitals, we do old nursing homes.
- 37:04SPEAKER_01: That's what was there.
- 37:07SPEAKER_01: A lot of people were there alone, and the only people that visited were nurses or doctors or a caretaker, one person.
- 37:14SPEAKER_01: So it's it's about the investigation.
- 37:16SPEAKER_01: Like they're like they think I'm trying to like scare them and push them to something they don't want to do, and yeah, a little bit, it's fun, but there's a reason for it, also.
- 37:28SPEAKER_00: Well, you're using yourself as a trigger item by doing that, you know, right.
- 37:34SPEAKER_01: And you know, what's more fun than getting handcuffed and blindfolded on a chair?
- 37:38SPEAKER_02: I mean, yeah, that's a Saturday night around here.
- 37:41SPEAKER_02: I mean, yeah.
