- 0:00Speaker 1: Blogged into Everything New York. I'm the voice of New York,
- 0:04Speaker 1: Mark Simon on sevent ten. Well, I'm getting a lot
- 0:13Speaker 1: of texts. That's not because I'm popular. It just means
- 0:17Speaker 1: I have a doctor's appointment. Doctor's appointment today. It's just
- 0:21Speaker 1: a yearly physical. I got an email this morning reminded
- 0:25Speaker 1: me of this, doctors, But I just got a text
- 0:27Speaker 1: A reminder of your doctor's appointment is today. I got
- 0:30Speaker 1: one last night. I got What do they think I'm
- 0:31Speaker 1: Joe Biden. I can't remember anything. I mean, for hundreds
- 0:36Speaker 1: of years people had doctor's appointments and you just wrote
- 0:39Speaker 1: it down, you know, and you showed up. It was
- 0:42Speaker 1: not I've asked doctors, why do you do this? Why
- 0:45Speaker 1: do you bombard us with texts and emails, reminders and reminders. Wow,
- 0:49Speaker 1: a misappointment can really screw up everything, and it's the
- 0:51Speaker 1: worst thing in the womb. I got lots of appointments
- 0:55Speaker 1: all day. I don't get four hundred texts. I mean,
- 0:57Speaker 1: you've got a meeting with somebody at three o'clock today,
- 1:01Speaker 1: they don't send me a million texters or reminder your
- 1:03Speaker 1: meeting is. Actually actually start doing that to people. Just
- 1:05Speaker 1: a reminder, it's annoying. Hey, World Series last night, eighteen
- 1:12Speaker 1: innings walk off homer by Freddie Freeman, who's very famous
- 1:17Speaker 1: now for these walkoff homers. But eighteen innings, the game
- 1:20Speaker 1: went till two fifteen in the morning. There is nothing
- 1:27Speaker 1: more annoying or less fun to watch than one of
- 1:30Speaker 1: those long inning games where nobody scores, nothing happens. I mean,
- 1:34Speaker 1: it's great watching all the defense. But so you had
- 1:39Speaker 1: like nine ten innings of no scoring until that walk
- 1:43Speaker 1: off homer. Hey, you know it's the Dodgers. They won
- 1:46Speaker 1: in eighteen eis. You know, it was fascinating. You know,
- 1:48Speaker 1: it was there at the game. Sandy Kofax. I didn't
- 1:52Speaker 1: even know he's still alive. He's eighty nine years old,
- 1:55Speaker 1: the legendary Dodger pitcher. There was Sandy Kofax at the
- 1:58Speaker 1: World Series. So it's definitely not summer anymore. It's definitely
- 2:03Speaker 1: well into the fall. We're really into fall now. Because
- 2:06Speaker 1: daylight savings time ends Sunday night, Saturday night, you will
- 2:10Speaker 1: gain an hour, you'll get an extra hour of sleep
- 2:13Speaker 1: Saturday night. You want to know how close winter is?
- 2:19Speaker 1: The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree, Yeah, that's right, it's that
- 2:21Speaker 1: time already. It picked a tree from a suburban farm
- 2:25Speaker 1: in Albany, Albany Suburbs, one hundred and thirty miles north
- 2:28Speaker 1: of Manhattan. It's an eleven ton seventy five foot Norway
- 2:33Speaker 1: spruce tree donated by the Russ family. It was planted
- 2:37Speaker 1: more than sixty years ago. This is good because the
- 2:39Speaker 1: last tree came from Massachusetts. So this is a New
- 2:43Speaker 1: York tree. Why don't they just get a fake tree.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Why don't they get just a big You could have
- 2:49Speaker 1: one made, a seventy five foot fake tree. You put
- 2:52Speaker 1: it in storage. Every year, you bring it out again.
- 2:54Speaker 1: It's got to be cheaper than a truck cutting down
- 2:57Speaker 1: this thing and bringing this tree one hundred and thirty miles.
- 3:00Speaker 1: And isn't this bad environmentally? You're cutting down these trees.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Here's a sixty year old tree. Cutting it down. I
- 3:08Speaker 1: guess for the family, they don't mind. It screws up
- 3:10Speaker 1: their farm, but you can always say that was our tree.
- 3:14Speaker 1: And Rockefeller Center so it'll be here pretty soon. That's
- 3:18Speaker 1: when you know summer is really really over. Hey, Amazon
- 3:24Speaker 1: laying off thirty thousand people. Now everybody says there's this
- 3:28Speaker 1: big AI employment meltdown coming that a lot of people
- 3:33Speaker 1: will get laid off due to this new technology AI.
- 3:36Speaker 1: You know, usually when it's new technology, it's blue collar
- 3:38Speaker 1: jobs that are lost. This is a whole different scenario.
- 3:41Speaker 1: These are white collar jobs that will be lost. If
- 3:45Speaker 1: you look at these thirty thousand Amazon people being laid off,
- 3:49Speaker 1: it's all corporate. It's not the warehouse, not that stuff,
- 3:52Speaker 1: although that could be coming. But thirty thousand corporate jobs,
- 3:56Speaker 1: you know, accounting hr all, this sort of thirty and jobs.
- 4:01Speaker 1: That's a lot of jobs. And then because of AI
- 4:03Speaker 1: technology can do a lot of this stuff. A lot
- 4:06Speaker 1: of companies that have a hiring freeze. JP Morgan other
- 4:09Speaker 1: companies said it's a hiring freeze and it's just starting,
- 4:14Speaker 1: it's just heating up. The AI stuff will put millions
- 4:18Speaker 1: and millions. Some estimates up to one hundred million people
- 4:21Speaker 1: could be put out of work by AI. Hey. Speaking
- 4:25Speaker 1: of Joe Biden, new report comes out showing a well,
- 4:29Speaker 1: it's no surprise, you know, he was a vegetable, a
- 4:32Speaker 1: zombie for years in the White House. Didn't know where
- 4:35Speaker 1: he was or what he was doing. But a new
- 4:36Speaker 1: report has a lot of details about what they had
- 4:39Speaker 1: to do with this guy. If he had to appear,
- 4:41Speaker 1: and remember he barely appeared maybe once every couple weeks
- 4:44Speaker 1: you'd see him for five minutes at some little ceremony,
- 4:47Speaker 1: but apparently had to use a lot of makeup on him.
- 4:52Speaker 1: They had to very strategically place everything so he didn't
- 4:56Speaker 1: have to take too many steps. In other words, if
- 4:59Speaker 1: you're going to do a meeting, they had a room,
- 5:00Speaker 1: and they put the place the podium, right near the door,
- 5:04Speaker 1: so he had to take five steps instead of a
- 5:06Speaker 1: walk across the room. Even for the most simple little things,
- 5:11Speaker 1: just a little thing where he's going to greet somebody
- 5:14Speaker 1: and say a couple of words. A teleprompter had to
- 5:16Speaker 1: be used, note cards. All that stuff looks pretty bad.
- 5:20Speaker 1: And they're now in this report saying that all those
- 5:23Speaker 1: last pardons were definitely auto pen and if the president
- 5:27Speaker 1: didn't actually sign the part and I it was an autopen.
- 5:29Speaker 1: A lot of people think they can be legally canceled.
- 5:32Speaker 1: The pardon could actually be canceled, so that could get
- 5:35Speaker 1: pretty interesting. Now President Trump is in Southeast Asia. He's
- 5:40Speaker 1: been Japan, there's Korea, there's China, there's Malaysia. It's a big,
- 5:45Speaker 1: long trip. And you ever fly to Japan or Malaysia,
- 5:49Speaker 1: it's you're on a plane for like eighteen hours. It's
- 5:52Speaker 1: quite a flight. It's a grueling flight, and it's the
- 5:55Speaker 1: long trip and the time difference. It's not two hours,
- 5:58Speaker 1: it's like nineteen hours. It's like an incredible disruption of
- 6:01Speaker 1: your circadian rhythm body clock. So Trump was seen and
- 6:07Speaker 1: in the Japan ceremony, he had to walk the red carpet.
- 6:11Speaker 1: And on fake news they're going crazy saying clearly there's
- 6:14Speaker 1: something wrong with him, trying to make him look like
- 6:16Speaker 1: Joe Biden, Like look at his gate, look at the
- 6:18Speaker 1: way he's walking. He seems to be walking a little
- 6:21Speaker 1: slower than usual. But if you just spent eighteen hours
- 6:23Speaker 1: flying to Japan, you're in three countries and one day
- 6:27Speaker 1: you're going to walk a little slow. He just looks tired.
- 6:30Speaker 1: He's fine, He's fine. Don't fall for any of this
- 6:32Speaker 1: fake news stuff. Speaking of fake news, John Stewart last
- 6:36Speaker 1: night has Mom Donnie on zoron Mom Donnie, Stuart trying
- 6:40Speaker 1: to give him a helping hand, puts Mom Donnie on
- 6:43Speaker 1: the Daily Show. So you know where Stuart stands on
- 6:48Speaker 1: all of this. Mom Donnie of course, huffing and puffing
- 6:50Speaker 1: about everything.
- 6:51Speaker 2: I think it makes the most sense in the wealthiest city,
- 6:53Speaker 2: in the wealthiest country in the history of the world,
- 6:55Speaker 2: that we actually ensure we have the funding necessary to
- 6:58Speaker 2: make it a place that New Yorker's can afford. And
- 7:00Speaker 2: I'm looking forward to working with Governor Hokle.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Yeah, right now, the Mom Donnie team, who would he
- 7:06Speaker 1: put in city Hall? Who's going to be well, it's
- 7:08Speaker 1: so far in the campaign, it's the it's the Bill
- 7:11Speaker 1: de Blasio team. Bill Deblasio's people have been running things
- 7:15Speaker 1: for Mom Donni, so people think when he takes office
- 7:18Speaker 1: it'll be a lot of the Deblasio people coming back.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Things were pretty bad under Deblasio, who was mayor for
- 7:24Speaker 1: eight years. Now, if there's an affordability crisis, you can
- 7:28Speaker 1: certainly blame Bill de Blasio for not fixing it. So
- 7:31Speaker 1: it looks like the same people, and again it'll be
- 7:33Speaker 1: a lot like Deblasio. Typical of these socialist Marxist candidates.
- 7:39Speaker 1: All talk, never actually get anything done. Nobody's ever actually
- 7:42Speaker 1: helped from it except themselves. Here's more of Mom Donnie.
- 7:46Speaker 2: So I will continue to make the case as to
- 7:48Speaker 2: why I think we need to increase taxes on the
- 7:50Speaker 2: top one percent by two percent. Why we need to
- 7:53Speaker 2: raise the state's top corporate tax rate to match that
- 7:55Speaker 2: out of New Jersey. And then doing so, this would
- 7:56Speaker 2: raise nine billion dollars, and that more than pays for
- 7:59Speaker 2: our economic agenda and starts to actually trump proof our city.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Well that sounds good on paper, it doesn't actually work.
- 8:04Speaker 1: First of all, he has no power to tax the rich.
- 8:06Speaker 1: That's the legislature. He has no power to do that.
- 8:10Speaker 1: If you tax the one percent. First of all, the
- 8:12Speaker 1: top one percent pays forty eight percent of the taxes.
- 8:17Speaker 1: The top one percent now pays half the tax in
- 8:19Speaker 1: New York. So let's say you decided to increase the
- 8:24Speaker 1: taxes on that top one percent, let's say ten percent
- 8:27Speaker 1: of them leave. Well, you just lost about five percent
- 8:31Speaker 1: of your revenue right there. Let's say twenty percent leave.
- 8:34Speaker 1: You just lost ten percent of your revenue. So it
- 8:37Speaker 1: doesn't work. The rich can move wherever the hell they want.
- 8:40Speaker 1: They can also choose how they receive their income. They
- 8:43Speaker 1: can go tax free, they can move, they can do
- 8:45Speaker 1: whatever they want. And that's why you have a lot
- 8:47Speaker 1: of people in New York. You see a lot of
- 8:50Speaker 1: billionaires here in the years. Well they didn't leave. Yeah,
- 8:52Speaker 1: actually they did. It's no longer their residence. Their residence
- 8:55Speaker 1: is now Florida or Texas or somewhere else. It just
- 8:58Speaker 1: means they can only be in New York whatever. It
- 9:00Speaker 1: is one hundred and seventy five days a year. So
- 9:02Speaker 1: they watched the calendar. So there's a lot of these
- 9:05Speaker 1: wealthy zillionaire and these hedge fund guys who don't actually
- 9:07Speaker 1: even live here anymore, even though you think they do.
- 9:10Speaker 1: They just switch their residence. Hey, the shutdown continues, and
- 9:18Speaker 1: Trump wanted to pay the military. He didn't want them
- 9:20Speaker 1: to go without a paycheck, so he found a wealthy
- 9:23Speaker 1: donor to pay the military. It's one hundred and seventy
- 9:27Speaker 1: million for the month. That's how much they get paid. So,
- 9:31Speaker 1: believe it or not, he found a donor who donated
- 9:33Speaker 1: the money. And there's a way to do it perfectly legal.
- 9:37Speaker 1: The Pentagon has a fund that you can put money into.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Is sort of a gift and once it's in the Pentagon,
- 9:42Speaker 1: they can use it for whatever purpose they want. So
- 9:47Speaker 1: that's what happened, and he wanted this guy was such
- 9:49Speaker 1: a nice guy by paying the military salary one hundred
- 9:52Speaker 1: and seventy million for a month that he didn't want
- 9:55Speaker 1: any credit. He wanted it donate it anonymously. It was
- 9:58Speaker 1: just a gift. Didn't want to take any credit, so
- 10:01Speaker 1: he did it anonymously. And of course leave it up
- 10:04Speaker 1: to fake news New York Times all these things to
- 10:06Speaker 1: go crazy trying to figure out who it is. Some
- 10:09Speaker 1: thought it would be Elon Musk. You know, anybody's just
- 10:12Speaker 1: got an extra one hundred and seventy million his pocket
- 10:14Speaker 1: changing can donate that. That's like an Elon Musk at
- 10:17Speaker 1: Jeff besos Well. It turned out they found out it
- 10:19Speaker 1: was Timothy Mellon of the banking family, the Mellon family,
- 10:24Speaker 1: whose family's worth about fourteen billion, so they can easily
- 10:28Speaker 1: part with one hundred and seventy million. But they printed
- 10:32Speaker 1: his name all over the place. Now, one reason he
- 10:34Speaker 1: might now a he's not a guy looking for any credit.
- 10:39Speaker 1: You know, when you make a charitable contribution, or you
- 10:41Speaker 1: do something for somebody or donate, you should never tell anybody,
- 10:44Speaker 1: should never take credit for it. It's the old George
- 10:47Speaker 1: Steinbrenner rule. If anybody knows about it besides you and
- 10:52Speaker 1: the person you did it for then you did it
- 10:54Speaker 1: for the wrong reasons. They didn't want any credit. But
- 10:56Speaker 1: also he probably didn't want to get attacked by these
- 11:00Speaker 1: crazy Trump haters by the Trump derangement syndrome. No King's crowd.
- 11:04Speaker 1: He doesn't need them outside his house, picketing outside their business.
- 11:08Speaker 1: That's probably the other reason. So, hey, look at Kelsey Grammar,
- 11:12Speaker 1: Frasier Kelsey Grammar having a child, another kid, his eighth child.
- 11:21Speaker 1: He's seventy years old. Now this gets a little complicated.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Seventy years old and he's having a baby. His eighth
- 11:28Speaker 1: child is seventy. So let's say the kid's fifteen and
- 11:31Speaker 1: wants to play catch with you. You'd be eighty five.
- 11:36Speaker 1: You'd be eighty eight. When the kid enters college, you'd
- 11:39Speaker 1: be well, you'd be ninety two when he graduates. I
- 11:45Speaker 1: don't know. The math doesn't quite work on this. Hey,
- 11:47Speaker 1: we'll get to the election coming up. The Dean himself,
- 11:50Speaker 1: the best campaign director of all ed Rollins, will talk
- 11:53Speaker 1: to him a little later about the campaign. Now, the
- 11:58Speaker 1: problem is Mamdanni has a total lead in every pole. Now,
- 12:03Speaker 1: these are not the greatest poles. These are these junkie
- 12:06Speaker 1: college polls and media polls. But they clearly show Mamdani winning.
- 12:13Speaker 1: A lot of the big, big, big donors who always
- 12:15Speaker 1: screw up every race, always get it wrong, pushing Cuomo
- 12:18Speaker 1: like crazy. The problem with Cuomo, you know, he was
- 12:22Speaker 1: really bad as governor. He did every far left woke,
- 12:25Speaker 1: kooky thing you could do. You know, took away bail,
- 12:29Speaker 1: no bail, no jail. He closed the prisons, he let
- 12:31Speaker 1: everybody out, he closed Indian Point. You could go on
- 12:34Speaker 1: and on all this crazy left wing stuff. If you
- 12:37Speaker 1: bring this up to anybody, they'll always excuse it. They'll say, well,
- 12:41Speaker 1: I mean he was just catering the left. Yeah, well
- 12:45Speaker 1: back then he was catering to the left. Okay, that's
- 12:47Speaker 1: what he does. He caters to the left. It's going
- 12:49Speaker 1: to be worse this time because it's a much This
- 12:54Speaker 1: whole cater to the left stuff is worse today than
- 12:57Speaker 1: back then because the far far left AOC mom Donni
- 13:01Speaker 1: wing of the party has complete control. So if you
- 13:04Speaker 1: get into office, they're going to really come after you,
- 13:06Speaker 1: and he's going to cave to them again. Now, Hakim
- 13:09Speaker 1: Jeffries did not want to endorse mom Donni, but these
- 13:13Speaker 1: far left people in the party that run things told
- 13:16Speaker 1: him will primary you if you don't endorse mam Donni,
- 13:20Speaker 1: which terrified him, so he quickly endorsed mom Donni. That's
- 13:23Speaker 1: why they got Schumer as a hostage. They've told him
- 13:26Speaker 1: they'll primary him right out of the race. So when
- 13:30Speaker 1: Cuomo's in off, he's got to assume he's going to
- 13:32Speaker 1: want to get re elected, and they'll tell him we're
- 13:35Speaker 1: going to primary you if you don't do this kind
- 13:38Speaker 1: of stuff. So the same thing happened when he was governor.
- 13:42Speaker 1: So he did all this kooky far left, crazy left
- 13:46Speaker 1: wing kind of stuff that caused the crime wave that
- 13:49Speaker 1: caused most of our problems today. So that's the problem
- 13:52Speaker 1: if you get Cuomo in office. He always caves to
- 13:54Speaker 1: those people. Hey, we'll take some calls in a minute.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten is
- 14:00Speaker 1: the number. Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten.
