Latest / The Driver's Show / Interview a bloke with the best hair ever, plus Gordie apologises to Trevor Long
Transcript
- 0:05Speaker 1: So before we get into our chat with the legend
- 0:10Speaker 1: that is Fred Schibsta, we should address something. I think
- 0:15Speaker 1: it was episode sixteen where I called out a car journalist.
- 0:21Speaker 1: He's sort of a car journalist, but he's a tech expert.
- 0:23Speaker 1: What's his name? The lawyer's letting me say. This guy's
- 0:26Speaker 1: name Trevor Long from the Today Show. In my view,
- 0:29Speaker 1: he stole what was supposed to be my our Australian
- 0:34Speaker 1: first whatever. And I said in response, he looks like
- 0:38Speaker 1: the kind of guy that eats hot dogs for dinner.
- 0:41Speaker 1: He's caught wind of it, and he tweeted both of us,
- 0:45Speaker 1: and I tried to mend it. I offered an olive branch.
- 0:50Speaker 1: I said, I'd had eleven pints and a massage from
- 0:53Speaker 1: a woman called Stephen, and I tried to call a truce,
- 0:57Speaker 1: and you know what he said. He said, not a chance.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Redemption is on. So I think it's time I give
- 1:04Speaker 1: him a call.
- 1:05Speaker 2: And I think this needs to be a sincere apology
- 1:07Speaker 2: as well.
- 1:07Speaker 1: This will be the most sincererious thing I've ever done
- 1:10Speaker 1: in my life, and I'm going to call it.
- 1:12Speaker 2: I hope it is.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Trever is answering an endless number of emails and can't
- 1:20Speaker 3: take your call.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Do not leave a voice message, send a text instead.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Pleasely, but do you have a message.
- 1:26Speaker 4: After the time when you have finished recording, you may
- 1:29Speaker 4: hang up.
- 1:29Speaker 2: We'll post one for more options.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Hey, trev It's Gordy and Paul here from the Drive
- 1:36Speaker 1: Show podcast. Hi, say Hi Paul.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Hi Trevor.
- 1:40Speaker 3: So Gordy is calling up to apologize for being a no,
- 1:44Speaker 3: no no.
- 1:44Speaker 2: This is my overweight douchebag.
- 1:46Speaker 1: This is my apology. You don't need to apologize for yourself, Okay.
- 1:56Speaker 1: I just want to say, trev I'm sorry.
- 1:59Speaker 4: Man.
- 2:04Speaker 1: By the way, you might want to record this because
- 2:06Speaker 1: you might want to use it as a pump up
- 2:08Speaker 1: before you talk to the Today Show about a vacuum.
- 2:12Speaker 1: I just want to say I'm sorry about the hot
- 2:14Speaker 1: dog situation I made. I've eaten so many hot dogs.
- 2:18Speaker 1: I once saw the face of God. Just because you
- 2:26Speaker 1: look like a Tafe teacher, the teacher sheep metal doesn't
- 2:33Speaker 1: doesn't make you less of a man. You are still
- 2:37Speaker 1: a genius. In fact, not a tafe teacher, a physics teacher.
- 2:42Speaker 1: A physics teacher, but also a little bit like the
- 2:47Speaker 1: Crisco Christmas Club Lady and I don't know what a
- 2:52Speaker 1: physics teacher is. I wouldn't because I don't know what
- 2:55Speaker 1: physics are. But Paul's laughing, and I think it's pretty important.
- 3:00Speaker 2: I'm taking no farre in this.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Here we go sing it, you're you're now anyway, I'd
- 3:22Speaker 1: like to formally invite you on the show to come
- 3:25Speaker 1: on in and have a chat. I'll eat some hot dogs,
- 3:28Speaker 1: I'll get some tacos, we'll get a case of beers.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Was that apology, all right, Paul?
- 3:36Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I think so. But I would love to
- 3:38Speaker 2: have Trevor on the show.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Okay, you're getting faded out. Hang on, all right, sorry,
- 3:45Speaker 1: go ahead, Paul.
- 3:46Speaker 2: I would actually like to have Trevor on the show.
- 3:48Speaker 2: It'd be good to have someone who knows what they're
- 3:50Speaker 2: talking about. So yeah, it would be good anyway, Thank
- 3:59Speaker 2: you for that.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Now we've got that out of the way. I did
- 4:01Speaker 1: organize you a little bit of a present. Fred Schebesta,
- 4:05Speaker 1: this dude is is an incredible guy. He's the founder
- 4:08Speaker 1: of Finder dot com. Yeah, he's the founder of Finder
- 4:12Speaker 1: dot com. Dot you and since then, and since the
- 4:16Speaker 1: success of that, and obviously the global success of that,
- 4:18Speaker 1: is picked up crypto which I know you're obviously into
- 4:22Speaker 1: and NFTs and all that. In fact, this guy's also
- 4:24Speaker 1: known as the Crypto King. So here is our chat
- 4:29Speaker 1: with Fred Schabester.
- 4:31Speaker 4: Like, do you have to like engage like the heavy
- 4:35Speaker 4: boosters to like turn this bad boy on?
- 4:37Speaker 3: Like, have you seen the studio? It looks like a
- 4:41Speaker 3: possum has pissed on the roof. So I think that
- 4:43Speaker 3: it needs hopes and dreams more than anything.
- 4:45Speaker 1: So we've taken him in the good studio. Mate, all right, okay,
- 4:49Speaker 1: he's not in my I have a studio over there
- 4:52Speaker 1: and it honestly looks like the airport lounge at Kabul Airport.
- 4:59Speaker 4: Do you actually like is this actually like this is
- 5:02Speaker 4: like like literally it feels like you've got to like
- 5:05Speaker 4: press all these buttons like a seven four seven, and
- 5:08Speaker 4: then then it like turns on and it's like.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Do you know what we do with our show? We
- 5:12Speaker 1: press a couple of buttons, we fly up in the
- 5:15Speaker 1: air and we just hope to hell it doesn't crash. Wow,
- 5:17Speaker 1: that's pretty much us. Now, last chat we had right,
- 5:21Speaker 1: you're in Brisbane. That's why your audio sucks, yesh, Brisbane.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Last time we had a chat you had your grumpy
- 5:26Speaker 1: pants on. So I've organized a bit of a present
- 5:29Speaker 1: for you, right. Yes, this is a guy called Fred
- 5:34Speaker 1: Shabasta or best I should say, I've stuffed up his
- 5:36Speaker 1: name like the best star, the best star on the block.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Co found out. Hang on, don't I'm trying to introduce
- 5:44Speaker 1: I don't. I don't write things down. You know this
- 5:48Speaker 1: from me, and I've written the stuff down, so this
- 5:51Speaker 1: is a big deal.
- 5:52Speaker 2: I'll let him have his moment. Go on, go on.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Gordy co found our financial comparison SiteFinder dot com dot au,
- 5:58Speaker 1: published author go Live. This is what I love. This
- 6:01Speaker 1: title Ten Principles to Launch a Global Empire. This is
- 6:04Speaker 1: a number one Amazon bestseller and it's a book that
- 6:08Speaker 1: I read. So the last book that I read had
- 6:11Speaker 1: words and pictures and it was called Where Did I
- 6:14Speaker 1: Come From? This is also a guy that last year
- 6:21Speaker 1: he was made Look, I don't do a rich list,
- 6:23Speaker 1: but he's made a rich list and that's a big
- 6:25Speaker 1: deal because it's from the Australian Financial Review. Do you
- 6:29Speaker 1: know what. I've never really met royalty before, right, but
- 6:33Speaker 1: I can tell you the closest I've ever come to
- 6:35Speaker 1: Royalty is King Willie Whedy and this guy is a
- 6:38Speaker 1: crypto king, Paul. That's why I brought him in because
- 6:42Speaker 1: you love crypto and you love kings. Fred. Welcome aboard,
- 6:46Speaker 1: Thank you for hanging out.
- 6:47Speaker 4: Thanks very much for having me on the on the
- 6:48Speaker 4: spaceship here, I see like all the dynamic thrusters have
- 6:51Speaker 4: been phased at the Dalitium crystals.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Yeah, let me tell you why I thought you'd be
- 6:57Speaker 1: a great chat. Okay, so you came in here. My
- 7:01Speaker 1: day job is working at a radio station with Kyle
- 7:03Speaker 1: and Jackie. Oh, and Fred came in there to promote
- 7:06Speaker 1: the book. Shut up, Paul, no one's asked for you.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Fred came into promoting his awesome book. And I'm like,
- 7:13Speaker 1: I didn't know. I didn't know who you were. And
- 7:15Speaker 1: I'm like, who's this dude coming out of a Porsche
- 7:18Speaker 1: Pana mirror that's like the hybrid turbotype topspec. Who's this guy?
- 7:25Speaker 1: But the thing is, he's like a successful businessman but
- 7:31Speaker 1: dresses like an La TikToker.
- 7:37Speaker 2: I think had something to be proud about.
- 7:39Speaker 1: I agree, because here's the deal. I don't get the
- 7:41Speaker 1: corporate world at all.
- 7:43Speaker 4: Direct from Venice Beach, Yeah.
- 7:45Speaker 1: I don't get I don't get the suits, man, but
- 7:47Speaker 1: when you came in here and like you know your
- 7:49Speaker 1: stuff and you're doing your own thing, I'm like, I
- 7:52Speaker 1: want to be friends with this guy. What a rad call, dude?
- 7:55Speaker 4: Anyway, only friends with you? Got you and Paul as
- 7:57Speaker 4: well done.
- 8:00Speaker 3: Look, I know this is a car show and we
- 8:02Speaker 3: should talk about car stuff first, but I am like
- 8:06Speaker 3: massively obsessed with crypto and I actually was also using
- 8:11Speaker 3: Finder when you guys were running the crypto competition and
- 8:14Speaker 3: then continue using it for some of my crypto trading
- 8:17Speaker 3: as well. So we'll get to crypto at a second.
- 8:19Speaker 3: But cars, I think that the cars are an interesting
- 8:22Speaker 3: starting point. Gordy mentioned you drive a Panameira. What has
- 8:26Speaker 3: led you to Porsche as a brand?
- 8:30Speaker 4: Well, I had my previous car. It was a Cries
- 8:33Speaker 4: the three hundred CEA and I bought it. Unfortunately I
- 8:40Speaker 4: bought it in silver, not in black. That was a mistake, yeah,
- 8:44Speaker 4: because as someone told me, oh, silver cars resell better.
- 8:47Speaker 4: And then I realized I'm never going to sell this car.
- 8:49Speaker 4: And I literally held on to it for thirteen years.
- 8:51Speaker 4: I drove it wow, all over Sydney. I drove it
- 8:54Speaker 4: until it wouldn't turn on anymore?
- 8:55Speaker 1: Is that right?
- 8:56Speaker 4: It would not turn on, and I went through batteries,
- 8:59Speaker 4: the everything fell apart on it and I just but
- 9:02Speaker 4: I drove it to the ground and it wouldn't move.
- 9:04Speaker 1: And when you eventually sold, that was that to fund
- 9:07Speaker 1: like the business?
- 9:08Speaker 4: Yeah, so I the first time I sold. So when
- 9:12Speaker 4: I saw my first company, I bought that car and
- 9:15Speaker 4: it cost me fifty grand and it was like a
- 9:18Speaker 4: big deal. That was like a significant milestone in my life.
- 9:23Speaker 4: And so when I was going to sell it after
- 9:25Speaker 4: thirteen years, I was like, oh, man, I feel so
- 9:27Speaker 4: bad about selling this car because it meant so much
- 9:29Speaker 4: to me. I kept the number plate and that's why
- 9:32Speaker 4: my number plate on my new car is so wonky.
- 9:36Speaker 1: That's that right, Yeah, Oh that's so cool.
- 9:39Speaker 4: It's yeah. So it reminds me of the hard work
- 9:43Speaker 4: that I you know, I grinded for twenty years to
- 9:47Speaker 4: get it, and I's that was the piece. I was
- 9:50Speaker 4: going to like keep it and just put it somewhere
- 9:52Speaker 4: and like take it apart and like melt it down
- 9:53Speaker 4: and put it into something. But I thought, well, at
- 9:55Speaker 4: least if I keep the number plate, that would be something.
- 9:59Speaker 4: So the next challenge was Okay, what car do you buy?
- 10:03Speaker 4: And I love value, you know, long term quality and
- 10:06Speaker 4: things will last. And I think I think Porsche is
- 10:09Speaker 4: a brand. It's just it's like, yes, it's it's probably
- 10:12Speaker 4: a little over the top, but I know if I'm
- 10:15Speaker 4: going to get in the car, need to go pick
- 10:16Speaker 4: up my children, or I need to get to the office,
- 10:18Speaker 4: or I need to drive, you know, to radio station,
- 10:22Speaker 4: I need to get there, and I can't. It can't
- 10:25Speaker 4: not work because you know, I have a series of
- 10:27Speaker 4: things that if it doesn't turn on and work and go,
- 10:30Speaker 4: that's a serious issue. And then the second point is,
- 10:32Speaker 4: you know, I need to put three kids in the car,
- 10:34Speaker 4: so I couldn't have a two door car. That's a
- 10:36Speaker 4: that's an issue.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I I That's why I sold my Porsche because
- 10:40Speaker 1: apparently when when I was taking my kid out of
- 10:42Speaker 1: the hospital, they said, you can't put the kid in
- 10:44Speaker 1: the boot, and I said, that sounds like a challenge,
- 10:49Speaker 1: and anyway, I didn't win that. My wife stepped in.
- 10:51Speaker 1: But yeah, it's it's it's basically the family.
- 10:54Speaker 4: Hard getting the car seat in the boot, that's tough, Cassie,
- 10:59Speaker 4: like the shopping bag.
- 11:02Speaker 3: I got to say, I actually you raise a very
- 11:05Speaker 3: good point there, Fred, because I have an assorted collection
- 11:11Speaker 3: of shit boxes, and one of them is I love
- 11:14Speaker 3: Australian cars, and one of them is a v HSV.
- 11:17Speaker 2: And yesterday we're in Melbourne.
- 11:19Speaker 3: We had to go to BMW to shoot some video
- 11:21Speaker 3: footage of these new cars and I thought.
- 11:22Speaker 2: You know, I'm going to wheel the old girl out and.
- 11:26Speaker 3: Go for a drive to BMW in that and the
- 11:28Speaker 3: battery was very flat and I got to this freeway
- 11:31Speaker 3: off ramp and literally it died on the off rap
- 11:35Speaker 3: because the battery died. So I see exactly what you're saying.
- 11:38Speaker 3: The last thing you want is a car that just
- 11:39Speaker 3: isn't going to get you there. And I well and
- 11:42Speaker 3: truly feel your pain. Now. I know that you mentioned
- 11:45Speaker 3: that the cries or I guess, and the registration after
- 11:49Speaker 3: that had that sentimental value of all the hard work
- 11:51Speaker 3: you put in for the business does and you probably
- 11:56Speaker 3: don't want to share what the registration actually says. But
- 11:58Speaker 3: does it have anything to do with the business or
- 12:00Speaker 3: is it just a personal plate that you sort of
- 12:02Speaker 3: picked at the time.
- 12:03Speaker 4: It's literally like a generic pretty much a generic one,
- 12:06Speaker 4: you know, like mystery pick when you get a new car, yea,
- 12:09Speaker 4: like I just didn't have you know, I didn't have
- 12:11Speaker 4: I didn't I had some money, but I didn't have
- 12:13Speaker 4: that much money to go and customize stuff and all
- 12:15Speaker 4: those kind of things. I think another key decision point.
- 12:19Speaker 4: But in the purchase of this car was about electric
- 12:24Speaker 4: or not electric. So it is a e hybrid, so
- 12:26Speaker 4: it does go about forty forty k's call it, you know,
- 12:31Speaker 4: give or take on a full charge and then it
- 12:35Speaker 4: switches to petrol. And it was one of those moments
- 12:39Speaker 4: in time when I think, you know, it's it's it's
- 12:43Speaker 4: probably this crossover point. And I was like, you know,
- 12:47Speaker 4: if I really need to drive somewhere, like you know,
- 12:49Speaker 4: I don't want to see out charge waiting and charging
- 12:51Speaker 4: and those kind of things. So, you know, the sort
- 12:53Speaker 4: of Tesla and full electrics, and also the Tyken was
- 12:57Speaker 4: coming out, so I was like, yeah, again, you know
- 13:00Speaker 4: that full crossover to full electric. I think it's a big,
- 13:03Speaker 4: big call. I still think it's well, that's what my
- 13:05Speaker 4: assessment was at the time.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Do you know what I reckon It's a lot like Crypto.
- 13:08Speaker 1: I would have agreed with you. When I first started
- 13:11Speaker 1: this podcast, I was exactly the same, and I reckon
- 13:14Speaker 1: it is a lot less scarier than it is at
- 13:18Speaker 1: first glance, do you know what I mean? Like it's
- 13:20Speaker 1: it's more habitual, right, electric is more of a habitual thing.
- 13:24Speaker 1: You kind of go home, you put it on charge,
- 13:27Speaker 1: you're good to go.
- 13:28Speaker 4: I can get to the city and back from my house,
- 13:31Speaker 4: so it is essentially still got enough range, but I
- 13:35Speaker 4: can't go any further than that. Then it's just a
- 13:36Speaker 4: petrol plus.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Also, it's your first kind of big expensive car, Like
- 13:42Speaker 1: it's a car car. You want to hear that shit,
- 13:44Speaker 1: you know what I mean? Like you want to kind
- 13:45Speaker 1: of let me just switch that on. It's it makes
- 13:47Speaker 1: a damn good sample, Like, well, we're in the car,
- 13:50Speaker 1: you know what.
- 13:52Speaker 3: I'm just helping sell read the electric dream here. But
- 13:56Speaker 3: the Taykon you can actually option a speaker. So the
- 14:00Speaker 3: cars that we tested recently had the optional speaker and
- 14:03Speaker 3: it actually sounds like a like a nine to eleven
- 14:06Speaker 3: turbo when you step on it. And the best bit
- 14:08Speaker 3: is the speaker is outside the car, so everyone else
- 14:11Speaker 3: hears this even though it's full electric, So you're kind
- 14:13Speaker 3: of getting the best of both worlds there.
- 14:15Speaker 1: It's like fake boobs I mean there's still boobs, but.
- 14:20Speaker 4: On the outside.
- 14:23Speaker 1: I reckon this car suits you more than you realize
- 14:26Speaker 1: because the guy who designed it, well, the guy who
- 14:30Speaker 1: was partly responsible for the Panemiro was a really big,
- 14:33Speaker 1: tall dude, big german guy, and legend has it he
- 14:37Speaker 1: sort of came in and goes, I want a card
- 14:39Speaker 1: that I consists in the back of and be completely
- 14:43Speaker 1: fine and all that. And the first generation was actually
- 14:46Speaker 1: a really ugly It actually had a bit of an
- 14:48Speaker 1: ugly almost like a lump in the back right.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Both yeh, just a nasty growth hump exactly.
- 14:55Speaker 1: It had like this weird camel hump at the back.
- 14:57Speaker 1: And then they got a guy Michael Mayor I can't remember.
- 15:02Speaker 1: I think he worked at Mercedes and Saab and he
- 15:04Speaker 1: came into Porsche and they were like, can you fix
- 15:07Speaker 1: this car? And for a long time I was like, oh,
- 15:09Speaker 1: I I don't think I could fix this, and he did.
- 15:13Speaker 1: But I think this car was really a rule breaker
- 15:16Speaker 1: from the start. And I mean, get it going back
- 15:19Speaker 1: to your book, man, like, that's that's kind of what
- 15:21Speaker 1: you are. So I reckon this car suitching more than
- 15:23Speaker 1: you realize.
- 15:24Speaker 4: That's interesting you say that, Yeah, I think because I
- 15:26Speaker 4: remember when the four door came out and everyone, oh,
- 15:29Speaker 4: what's that. You've broken Porsche, you know, like it's a
- 15:32Speaker 4: broken Porsche. And I was like, at first, I was like, oh, geez,
- 15:35Speaker 4: I'm not sure about that. And then one of my
- 15:38Speaker 4: friends we went and looked at it and they said,
- 15:40Speaker 4: have you have you actually looked at this? And then
- 15:42Speaker 4: it started to door num on me that this was
- 15:44Speaker 4: the rule breaker, this was the one that broke that
- 15:47Speaker 4: changed the game. You know, it's like, well, I don't
- 15:49Speaker 4: care what other other cars are doing, I'm going to
- 15:52Speaker 4: go this way. And it's like it's quite a it's
- 15:55Speaker 4: quite a statement. Yeah, And I actually saw someone driving
- 15:58Speaker 4: one before and I was like, whoa, that's a big
- 16:02Speaker 4: move to like go and and like it's it's it's
- 16:06Speaker 4: just a it's it's it's like you don't care about
- 16:10Speaker 4: all of the social precedents and you know, context of
- 16:15Speaker 4: what is in the Overton window. You've just gone nah,
- 16:19Speaker 4: just putting another two doors on.
- 16:21Speaker 3: Well, I'm curious, as a as a bit of a
- 16:24Speaker 3: tech nerd and lover of you know, emerging tech, what
- 16:27Speaker 3: do you reckon about Tesla because they've kind of.
- 16:29Speaker 2: Done exactly that where they've gone.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Well, you know, traditional car companies do it this way,
- 16:33Speaker 3: but we're gonna switch things around a bit. Does that
- 16:35Speaker 3: company have any appeal to you?
- 16:38Speaker 1: You know?
- 16:39Speaker 4: I I've driven them a couple of times, you know,
- 16:42Speaker 4: a few times in America and in Australia.
- 16:48Speaker 1: I just preferences by saying everything Paul says about Tesla,
- 16:51Speaker 1: he's getting paid to say. No, he's not. He'll kill
- 16:54Speaker 1: me for say. He'll text me after this interview. I
- 16:59Speaker 1: feel like.
- 17:02Speaker 4: There's something and I don't know what it is yet,
- 17:07Speaker 4: that when you sit in the car it feels like
- 17:11Speaker 4: it could break. That's really harsh to say, but I
- 17:15Speaker 4: and maybe it's way better engineered than I realized or anything.
- 17:18Speaker 4: But when I sit in like a Porsche, you know
- 17:21Speaker 4: that is it's just and I think it was just
- 17:24Speaker 4: my mindset partially on you know, it's more risky to
- 17:29Speaker 4: drive a car than it is to fly on a plane,
- 17:31Speaker 4: and so I was like, I don't know, there's something
- 17:33Speaker 4: about this car that it felt a little bit like
- 17:37Speaker 4: maybe half of it will fall off. I don't know
- 17:40Speaker 4: that that's ridiculous and that's not that's just an intuition
- 17:43Speaker 4: that I felt and it's probably something because it's brand new,
- 17:46Speaker 4: but that was the first feeling I got, and I
- 17:48Speaker 4: was like, I was like, this is amazingly fast and
- 17:51Speaker 4: crazily quickly going, and I can feel how it's stuck
- 17:54Speaker 4: to the ground, but I feel like it's going to break.
- 17:57Speaker 3: Yeah, But that's that's not a bad view to have
- 17:59Speaker 3: because the first Tesla I bought, when I had a
- 18:02Speaker 3: Model three performance, mine was literally built in a tent
- 18:05Speaker 3: because they had to assemble some of the cars and
- 18:08Speaker 3: finish the assembly in a tent that they constructed outside
- 18:10Speaker 3: Fremont in California. They then moved production to China, and
- 18:15Speaker 3: they ironically got significantly better when they started producing them
- 18:18Speaker 3: out of China because they sort of sorted all the
- 18:20Speaker 3: problems out.
- 18:21Speaker 2: But I know exactly what you mean.
- 18:22Speaker 3: When you do drive a Tesla back to back with
- 18:25Speaker 3: a German vehicle, generally the German vehicle will field miles
- 18:28Speaker 3: ahead and far better built and will have conventional features
- 18:32Speaker 3: that you're kind of familiar with. Tesla really does the
- 18:35Speaker 3: tech game really well, so I think sort of that's
- 18:38Speaker 3: where they excel, and I'm curious on that sort of
- 18:41Speaker 3: innovation front. If we sort of dart over to Crypto.
- 18:45Speaker 3: Hyundai launched recently an NFT collection, so it was a
- 18:50Speaker 3: bit of a shit show because they sort of ran
- 18:52Speaker 3: this collection entirely in Korean basically, so you went into
- 18:56Speaker 3: their discord and nothing made any sense and it was
- 18:59Speaker 3: a complete disare do you reckon that we're going to
- 19:01Speaker 3: see more car companies moving into that metaverse space and
- 19:05Speaker 3: trying to take advantage of this emerging tech.
- 19:08Speaker 4: Geez, that's yeah, that's a long bow from where we
- 19:14Speaker 4: are in n FTS, you know where you know, we've
- 19:16Speaker 4: got some pretty rudimentary games, We've got some more fancy
- 19:19Speaker 4: games coming out. We've got people with fancy roll x's,
- 19:22Speaker 4: which are you know that look like you know, apes,
- 19:27Speaker 4: rolling around doing all sorts of things, and everyone's got
- 19:30Speaker 4: their little click But I think we we're a bit
- 19:34Speaker 4: of a distance from there. I think we accelerated about
- 19:37Speaker 4: five years closer towards it with COVID. Everyone got a
- 19:40Speaker 4: lot more digital comfortable with that. We moved even closer
- 19:44Speaker 4: to the world of electrons that we did to the
- 19:45Speaker 4: world of atoms, Like we're staring at you know, zoom screens,
- 19:49Speaker 4: which are really pieces of glass, and we believe that's
- 19:52Speaker 4: someone and whether or you know that that that whole
- 19:54Speaker 4: journey you could. It's very easy to go further and
- 19:57Speaker 4: further and deeper into that mindset.
- 19:59Speaker 1: Paul doesn't actually exist.
- 20:00Speaker 4: He's Pulls Pulls.
- 20:02Speaker 1: He's an annoying piece of AI that they built in
- 20:07Speaker 1: Czechoslovakia and it just went horribly wrong, and I just
- 20:13Speaker 1: agreed to take him on board.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Well, the other complication with.
- 20:17Speaker 4: I just want to go back on the Tesla thing. Yeah,
- 20:21Speaker 4: talking about that company. I know one of my friends,
- 20:24Speaker 4: he he's long Tesla like he obviously owns all the stock,
- 20:29Speaker 4: but he also owns a He brought a Tesla in
- 20:32Speaker 4: the US. He saw his company when he was in
- 20:35Speaker 4: the US, came back to Australia, he's brought another Tesla.
- 20:37Speaker 4: He's still waiting for it obviously because of you know,
- 20:39Speaker 4: shipping times. But he has this very deep view that
- 20:45Speaker 4: Tesla is like the next Apple and we just can't
- 20:50Speaker 4: see it yet. It's just that the role out time
- 20:53Speaker 4: for this kind of organization and what it needs to do,
- 20:56Speaker 4: it takes an enormous amount of time. Like like just
- 21:00Speaker 4: the sheer size and scope of number of cars and
- 21:04Speaker 4: metal and you know, full production stuff just just a
- 21:08Speaker 4: distance from here to there. But you know, if you
- 21:12Speaker 4: if you now go a few steps in and look
- 21:14Speaker 4: at some of the things that they are doing are
- 21:16Speaker 4: pretty out there, Like with their robots. I think they've
- 21:19Speaker 4: got a release coming out of this first AI robot.
- 21:25Speaker 4: Like that's like if you, I guess what I'm trying
- 21:28Speaker 4: to submit is if you go back in time and
- 21:31Speaker 4: look at Apple and some of the ideas that they
- 21:33Speaker 4: propose and you know, were pitching and you know, really
- 21:38Speaker 4: some of these leaps forward that they made and the
- 21:40Speaker 4: engineering that was that backed it up and the design
- 21:42Speaker 4: that came along with it. And now you look at
- 21:45Speaker 4: that from a parallel with Tesla, you know, I think
- 21:48Speaker 4: they're gonna you know, they've gotten more reliable. But the
- 21:52Speaker 4: engineering going into that organization, the sheer amount of engineering
- 21:57Speaker 4: and AI and so you know, I'm talking about it
- 21:59Speaker 4: when I say engineering not only in the world of atoms,
- 22:01Speaker 4: you know, and the actual construction of the car, but
- 22:04Speaker 4: also in the software engineering like those things they take.
- 22:09Speaker 4: Like when you build a great piece of software, the
- 22:11Speaker 4: way I see it is, it doesn't just go, oh,
- 22:12Speaker 4: I'm build a spiece of software and it's done. It's
- 22:14Speaker 4: like you need the fifth and sixth version before you
- 22:18Speaker 4: start to get something good and decent happening. And you know,
- 22:23Speaker 4: like we're the same I've obviously done this many times.
- 22:26Speaker 4: And there are many systems inside Finder. I'd say we
- 22:28Speaker 4: were up to version five of the Finder app, for example,
- 22:32Speaker 4: and it wasn't until five that decided to go Actually
- 22:34Speaker 4: it's pretty cool. And so what I think is some
- 22:37Speaker 4: of these systems they just they go, oh, we built this,
- 22:40Speaker 4: and now like wait, we need to go back and
- 22:42Speaker 4: overhaul that because we didn't realize this, and you have
- 22:45Speaker 4: to go back and then you unwind all that stuff,
- 22:47Speaker 4: rebuild it. And then so if you think about what
- 22:49Speaker 4: they're proposing self driving cars, and it's fully like electric car,
- 22:55Speaker 4: it's like, you know, gonna pick you up from the
- 22:59Speaker 4: airport and take you home and then go out and
- 23:01Speaker 4: potentially make money for you. I actually don't think you know,
- 23:04Speaker 4: that idea is a big idea, right you know, Yeah,
- 23:06Speaker 4: but that kind of vision I think just takes ten
- 23:10Speaker 4: years to do or something like that. And you think
- 23:12Speaker 4: about look at you know, Apple's what started in the seventies.
- 23:16Speaker 4: It's like had a lot of time to like make
- 23:19Speaker 4: the crazy products it's made. But think of all the
- 23:22Speaker 4: engineering that had to go in order to go toward
- 23:24Speaker 4: that journey. I think Tesla's on that path and a
- 23:26Speaker 4: lot of the value is unrealized and not seen by
- 23:30Speaker 4: its end product and customers, and so I think they're
- 23:32Speaker 4: going to get better will and I think there is
- 23:35Speaker 4: a ball case there for it being the default car.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I think you're right with like the whole Apple comparison.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Like if you look at electric cars, the way I
- 23:44Speaker 1: look at it at the moment is you've got a
- 23:46Speaker 1: line where you've got sort of electric cars you know
- 23:49Speaker 1: other car brands do and that kind of thing, and
- 23:51Speaker 1: then you've got Tesla, who are completely, in my view,
- 23:54Speaker 1: in their own legue. And it was funny where you're
- 23:56Speaker 1: saying with the driving experience, because at first it feels
- 24:00Speaker 1: so artificial compared to what we're used to, and then
- 24:03Speaker 1: it still sort of sits in a league of its own.
- 24:05Speaker 1: It's a middimalisted. Almost everyone will generally say with their
- 24:08Speaker 1: first drive, it feels like I'm driving a laptop, not
- 24:11Speaker 1: a car. But then you look at the other side,
- 24:14Speaker 1: with electric cars that are still sort of even designed,
- 24:16Speaker 1: like say the interior for instance, you know a lot
- 24:18Speaker 1: of time has been put into like still you know,
- 24:22Speaker 1: dials and buttons here and changing that up and all
- 24:25Speaker 1: that sort of stuff. But the the Tesla is literally
- 24:29Speaker 1: feels like Apple versus Android. It's really weird. But yeah, yeah,
- 24:34Speaker 1: and it's crazy to think what's coming out like and
- 24:37Speaker 1: what the next ten to twenty years holds.
- 24:39Speaker 4: I had to buy a second car, and at the
- 24:46Speaker 4: time we were living with an apartment with a car
- 24:49Speaker 4: STACKO so I had to stack two cars and so,
- 24:54Speaker 4: you know, how to constraint. I think I would have
- 24:57Speaker 4: bought a Tesla if I was on if it wasn't
- 24:59Speaker 4: on the stack, because but that's that's an issue. The
- 25:02Speaker 4: car itself is like two tons plus.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Or even stackers are a disaster.
- 25:06Speaker 4: Yeah, So so I was like, oh, I don't want
- 25:10Speaker 4: to put it, you know, a Tesla on a stacker.
- 25:12Speaker 4: That's like I'm signing myself up for trouble. So I
- 25:17Speaker 4: kind of saw it as a hedge. I went to
- 25:21Speaker 4: the petrol car in that case, I want them car.
- 25:24Speaker 4: And actually the McCarn again a great car. Unbelievable drive,
- 25:28Speaker 4: I'd say, actually, with his visibility and everything, I think
- 25:31Speaker 4: got to be one of the best drives. I don't
- 25:33Speaker 4: know what they've done there, But just from that perspective,
- 25:35Speaker 4: feel safe because it's nice and high you can see things.
- 25:37Speaker 4: But it just feels great and it's not huge, not massive.
- 25:40Speaker 4: Ye fits into spots you can you can put five
- 25:43Speaker 4: in and it's got a little boot.
- 25:46Speaker 1: You can dart around. It's great.
- 25:47Speaker 4: Yeah, amazing, amazing little vehicle. Love it reliable as well,
- 25:54Speaker 4: But I think I would have probably gone and taken
- 25:56Speaker 4: a punt on a Tesla. I just yeah, because of weight.
- 26:01Speaker 4: That was one of the issues.
- 26:02Speaker 1: Do you reckon with cars? I feel like investing in
- 26:05Speaker 1: cars is very similar in some ways to investing in crypto,
- 26:08Speaker 1: Like there's an art. I don't know much about investing
- 26:10Speaker 1: in crypto, but there is an art versus science to it.
- 26:13Speaker 4: Right, Yeah, I think you know, you're looking at the
- 26:18Speaker 4: trajectory in this case of the team of Tesla, and
- 26:22Speaker 4: you know, what are they going to roll out, what
- 26:23Speaker 4: are they going to bring, what's the software? Because it
- 26:25Speaker 4: going to deliver? Like is it going to deliver this?
- 26:28Speaker 4: Yes or no? And you're just kind of taking a
- 26:30Speaker 4: punt with the hardware, which is kind of like owning
- 26:33Speaker 4: the coin in a way, and you're like, will this
- 26:35Speaker 4: project deliver or not is basically what you do in crypto,
- 26:38Speaker 4: and if it.
- 26:38Speaker 2: Does really good comparison that if it does.
- 26:41Speaker 4: Deliver on you know, you're going to get massive upside.
- 26:44Speaker 4: And I think that would, yeah, definitely happen with the Tesla.
- 26:48Speaker 4: And again I I think I would have gone there.
- 26:51Speaker 4: I just yeah, it wasn't wasn't the right time.
- 26:55Speaker 3: Now's your time to jump in because Model Why has
- 26:58Speaker 3: just gone on sale in Australia fits it's literally nineteen
- 27:02Speaker 3: hundred and eighty kilograms, so if your stacker is still
- 27:05Speaker 3: a condition, it'll probably sort that out. But I love
- 27:07Speaker 3: that comparison to it being a crypto project, and there
- 27:11Speaker 3: has been so much upside for early investors. When we
- 27:14Speaker 3: bought our first Model three, I bought Tesla shares at
- 27:17Speaker 3: like two hundred dollars. This is before the four way
- 27:19Speaker 3: stock split, and it basically started going backwards and I
- 27:23Speaker 3: chickened out at like one seventy five and sold. Had
- 27:25Speaker 3: I have held them, they'd be worth the equivalent pre
- 27:28Speaker 3: split of like four thousand dollars now. And I think
- 27:31Speaker 3: that you have to go with your gut. And if
- 27:33Speaker 3: I had have listened to my gut back then, it
- 27:35Speaker 3: would have said exactly what you said that this is
- 27:37Speaker 3: a company that has this long roadmap, they have this
- 27:40Speaker 3: really innovative plan, and I think when you look at
- 27:43Speaker 3: who's leading it, Elon Musk, like the guy is in
- 27:46Speaker 3: some cases an absolute nut job, but he is. He's
- 27:49Speaker 3: one of the smartest guys out there, and he really
- 27:52Speaker 3: just knows his shit and really knows how to hire
- 27:55Speaker 3: the right people to get the outcome that he wants
- 27:57Speaker 3: from these companies that he's involved in.
- 28:00Speaker 4: One of the things that is undervalued when someone looks
- 28:05Speaker 4: at a big promise and they look at a software company,
- 28:08Speaker 4: is the actual delivery of what is promised is assumed?
- 28:13Speaker 4: But I actually don't think it is. And let's say
- 28:18Speaker 4: I want to get a car to self drive around
- 28:21Speaker 4: that the number of variables involved in that, let alone
- 28:26Speaker 4: getting the code to execute and an update and you know,
- 28:29Speaker 4: and actually deliver a version one and not you know,
- 28:32Speaker 4: and not get shut down to some extent. Like I
- 28:35Speaker 4: think there's I guess what I what I think about
- 28:38Speaker 4: when I think of Elin is he's a good investment
- 28:43Speaker 4: in terms of giving him money to go and deliver
- 28:45Speaker 4: a software project and actually it potentially delivering with a
- 28:48Speaker 4: very low percentage outcome of it actually happening. In other words,
- 28:52Speaker 4: here's a super high risky thing to do, and let's
- 28:55Speaker 4: give it to this guy because he tends to deliver.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Oh man, he's building a did you is he still
- 29:01Speaker 1: doing that? Building a tunnel under Ala? Have you heard that?
- 29:04Speaker 1: The hyphens?
- 29:06Speaker 3: Yeah, and he's got the boring company as well. That
- 29:09Speaker 3: kind of makes a little less sense to me because
- 29:11Speaker 3: the whole concept is you drive your autonomous tesla in there,
- 29:14Speaker 3: and it takes you from one end to the other.
- 29:15Speaker 3: But if it's like any tunnel I've been in during
- 29:18Speaker 3: peak hour, there the shitts places to be because you
- 29:21Speaker 3: basically sit there with all this other traffic and it
- 29:23Speaker 3: has to exit at another end. So unless it exits
- 29:26Speaker 3: into an empty area, you just end up in the
- 29:28Speaker 3: same It is just a tunnel. So I think his
- 29:31Speaker 3: innovation is the cost reduction and the engineering behind being
- 29:35Speaker 3: able to produce these tunnels, and the fact that you
- 29:37Speaker 3: don't need the same level of fire suppression that you
- 29:40Speaker 3: would in a tunnel with internal combustion cars because it
- 29:43Speaker 3: would just be fre evs totally.
- 29:47Speaker 1: This is probably where I should jump in and say
- 29:49Speaker 1: something intelligent.
- 29:49Speaker 2: I'm not going to hold my breath.
- 29:54Speaker 1: Freend's like, I don't know how to trying to belied,
- 29:57Speaker 1: but Jesus, he's right.
- 29:59Speaker 2: Yeah, what is what is next for you?
- 30:03Speaker 3: I mean I was having a look and you're in
- 30:05Speaker 3: the top one hundred innovators. What is next for Finder?
- 30:10Speaker 3: On the innovation side? I know you guys have sort
- 30:12Speaker 3: of now launched into that crypto space. Are you finding
- 30:16Speaker 3: that Finder is evolving all the time in terms of
- 30:18Speaker 3: what you want from it and what people come to
- 30:21Speaker 3: expect from it as well.
- 30:22Speaker 4: I don't think people yet expect us to deliver on
- 30:26Speaker 4: this crypture stuff. I think people in crypto do. They're like, oh,
- 30:29Speaker 4: you know, that's fine. Yeah, they're in crypto. That's cool.
- 30:31Speaker 4: But I don't think that there's like a broader audience
- 30:34Speaker 4: yet that sort of cuss that. But that's good. I
- 30:37Speaker 4: prefer that because it just allows us more time to
- 30:40Speaker 4: make our product insanely even better. I think that's what
- 30:45Speaker 4: we've evolved from is I think if you go back
- 30:48Speaker 4: in time, Find it was really maybe even say three
- 30:51Speaker 4: or four years, it was really just a i'd a
- 30:54Speaker 4: largely a media and publishing company that's a being straight.
- 31:00Speaker 4: I don't think you would see it as a technology company. Now,
- 31:04Speaker 4: I would say you would definitely rethink that with the
- 31:09Speaker 4: things we've built and the things we are working on
- 31:12Speaker 4: and building at this point in time. You know, we've
- 31:16Speaker 4: got you know, many many millions of dollars under management
- 31:22Speaker 4: in Finder. Now people give you know, they have a wallet,
- 31:24Speaker 4: and people deposit money. You know, we have security around that.
- 31:29Speaker 4: We you know, all these kinds of things that we
- 31:31Speaker 4: never did before, and now we've learned to really smooth
- 31:35Speaker 4: and make much much, much, much much easier. So I
- 31:39Speaker 4: think the way I kind of zoom out and I
- 31:42Speaker 4: and I think of where things are going and I
- 31:45Speaker 4: try I try to sort of predict what's going to
- 31:47Speaker 4: be next, and that's not the easiest thing to do, right,
- 31:51Speaker 4: But you know, I think that people have now gone
- 31:57Speaker 4: from wanting yield to they're pretty scared about inflation, and
- 32:05Speaker 4: so I think this idea of owning assets is in
- 32:10Speaker 4: some way shape or form, you know, if it's companies.
- 32:12Speaker 4: I think Crypto has survived another you know hit and
- 32:16Speaker 4: then sort of fill, but it's now still above the
- 32:19Speaker 4: all time high that it was before, and no matter
- 32:22Speaker 4: how much of because they are, it's dead. Well, I
- 32:24Speaker 4: think everyone who's sold or when it had that huge
- 32:27Speaker 4: job and it went so super crazy, I think everyone
- 32:31Speaker 4: who had to sell sold.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Yeah, and exactly, I.
- 32:34Speaker 4: Think, well, there's no more sellers left, and so there's
- 32:38Speaker 4: a really interesting, you know, point in time where I
- 32:40Speaker 4: think you can look at that now and you go, well, factually,
- 32:44Speaker 4: regardless of wherever you think it's going, all over it's doing.
- 32:47Speaker 4: It's above the all time high the last time. Like
- 32:50Speaker 4: that's means that if you've bought the old time high
- 32:52Speaker 4: last time, you're still up. That's a good thing, right,
- 32:55Speaker 4: that's a that's a that's a big deal.
- 32:57Speaker 1: Sorry, keep going, No.
- 32:58Speaker 4: I think I think, you know, this rising interest rates
- 33:01Speaker 4: I think is a very interesting dynamic and where I
- 33:05Speaker 4: think it's kind of turning to and what I'm thinking about,
- 33:10Speaker 4: you know, now that there's sort of this investment boom
- 33:12Speaker 4: has sort of calmed down, I think saving money, you know,
- 33:15Speaker 4: that was really where Finder came from. I think it's
- 33:17Speaker 4: becoming cooler again, Like people want to save money on energy,
- 33:20Speaker 4: on their loans, on their health insurance. I think that's
- 33:23Speaker 4: been our core business and that's that's definitely seen a
- 33:26Speaker 4: lot more interest of recent But I think there's another
- 33:29Speaker 4: part that I think a lot of people are looking
- 33:32Speaker 4: at right now is because you've got this change now
- 33:35Speaker 4: of people, you know, being at home and working digitally
- 33:41Speaker 4: and being perfectly kind fine with that. But they've suddenly
- 33:44Speaker 4: now got I don't know, two to three more hours,
- 33:48Speaker 4: and I feel like everyone's confused. Everyone's like, oh, I've
- 33:51Speaker 4: just got this extra time and I've done my thing,
- 33:53Speaker 4: and now what do I do now? And so I
- 33:57Speaker 4: think there's this time now where everyone's okay, everyone's sort
- 34:02Speaker 4: of binged out now, and all their streaming channels they're
- 34:05Speaker 4: kind of bared now with that they've they've they've they're
- 34:08Speaker 4: beinging up podcast but like great ones like this.
- 34:11Speaker 1: And where you see that for the promo they are
- 34:16Speaker 1: And I.
- 34:16Speaker 4: Think podcasts in a massive way that and it is
- 34:19Speaker 4: on a massive inflection curve up and I think it's
- 34:22Speaker 4: great in an emerging space. But I also think what
- 34:25Speaker 4: they're doing is they're a beaches done on social media.
- 34:28Speaker 4: They're a bit done. They're like, oh jeez, I've scrawled enough,
- 34:31Speaker 4: you know, I understand this stuff hooks me in, and
- 34:33Speaker 4: then they're kind of going, okay, now I still have
- 34:35Speaker 4: done all that. Now, still got another hour. And I
- 34:40Speaker 4: think in that hour, you know, where people are kind
- 34:43Speaker 4: of eventually getting to. And I could be wrong on this,
- 34:45Speaker 4: but this is my future prediction is they're going to
- 34:48Speaker 4: work on themselves and because that's the best investment you
- 34:52Speaker 4: can make, right, So that's going to stay with you
- 34:54Speaker 4: for significant periods of time, learning something, working out in
- 34:59Speaker 4: some way shape orfore, working out something which you've always
- 35:03Speaker 4: wanted to know that will help you fundamentally with the
- 35:05Speaker 4: next thing you're doing, or earning a little bit of
- 35:08Speaker 4: extra money to repay something, or whatever it may be.
- 35:14Speaker 4: So I've got this theory of this this this this hour,
- 35:19Speaker 4: this spare hour everyone's got, and I don't know what
- 35:22Speaker 4: I'm going to make, but I've come up with some ideas.
- 35:25Speaker 4: But it's going to be something either where people can
- 35:28Speaker 4: earn a bit of extra money by doing some relatively
- 35:30Speaker 4: simple things or improve that learn something and get paid
- 35:34Speaker 4: for it, or something along those lines, because I think
- 35:38Speaker 4: that's the new space. It's the extra hour everyone's got
- 35:41Speaker 4: after they've been shot on everything else. I've taken up
- 35:44Speaker 4: playing chess, which I love that, which is you know,
- 35:48Speaker 4: probably completely orthogonal to you know, building companies.
- 35:54Speaker 1: But but yeah, yeah, was that something that you picked
- 35:56Speaker 1: back up or was it like I'm just going to
- 35:58Speaker 1: learn a new skill.
- 35:59Speaker 4: I used to played chess. Actually this is a damaging confession,
- 36:03Speaker 4: but I was the captain of my chest, of the
- 36:05Speaker 4: of the chess team I played. I literally played board one.
- 36:09Speaker 1: What does that mean? Is that good?
- 36:11Speaker 4: The first board? So there's like, you know, you know,
- 36:15Speaker 4: four people on the team and I played the first board.
- 36:19Speaker 4: So you play the hardest player.
- 36:20Speaker 1: Okay, So I saw the movie Finding Bobby Fisher once.
- 36:24Speaker 1: I think that's I think that's chess. I think I
- 36:26Speaker 1: get what you're saying.
- 36:27Speaker 4: So there's recently there's been the World Championship with the Olympiads,
- 36:31Speaker 4: so that so all the company countries play against each
- 36:34Speaker 4: other the top four boards of every country. Actually Australia
- 36:36Speaker 4: had a team of the best performance. But and it's
- 36:42Speaker 4: you need to obviously, when you play four boards, you
- 36:45Speaker 4: need to. Like any game, you know, you need to
- 36:47Speaker 4: get one point for winning half a board for drawing,
- 36:49Speaker 4: and you know you lose your zero, and you need
- 36:51Speaker 4: to beat everyone. And it was something which I you know,
- 36:56Speaker 4: I was in a you know, people who was academically
- 36:59Speaker 4: smart than me, I could beat them in chess. For
- 37:02Speaker 4: some reason, like they had different smarts, whereas I could
- 37:07Speaker 4: like see into the future on the board and go look,
- 37:09Speaker 4: and I'd look and I see that move and I go, man,
- 37:11Speaker 4: you're so smart and you did that, Like like why
- 37:15Speaker 4: am I not able to do what you do? You know,
- 37:18Speaker 4: like he's probably looking at me, going, man, I did
- 37:20Speaker 4: my tests or whatever. He's like, you did that.
- 37:23Speaker 1: You know, Hey, one last thing because we've got to
- 37:25Speaker 1: wrap up in a sec. We're getting kicked out. With
- 37:27Speaker 1: what you do and what you've created, it's got serious longevity.
- 37:31Speaker 1: Is that your Is that your legacy or like what
- 37:33Speaker 1: would you like to your legacy to be.
- 37:36Speaker 4: That's a great question. It's something which is actually very Yeah,
- 37:40Speaker 4: I'm very passionate about his legacy and leaving leaving something
- 37:43Speaker 4: and creating something that will help people for a long
- 37:46Speaker 4: period of time. And when I think about that, you know,
- 37:49Speaker 4: what I'm trying to do is my ultimate goal is
- 37:53Speaker 4: to plant trees that I will never experience or see
- 37:58Speaker 4: the shade of for other people to benefit from and
- 38:02Speaker 4: in some small way, maybe you know, if that's helping
- 38:05Speaker 4: people save a bit of money, make a bit of money.
- 38:07Speaker 4: And I don't know all the things that are kind
- 38:08Speaker 4: to come from that. But I'm just hoping that those
- 38:11Speaker 4: things that I've created and helped people do, they create
- 38:16Speaker 4: not only what's happening now, but into the future a
- 38:19Speaker 4: significant lift in their life and their families, lives and
- 38:24Speaker 4: things like that.
- 38:25Speaker 1: That's what I love about Freddie champions people.
- 38:27Speaker 2: You know, Yeah, well that's what you got to do.
- 38:29Speaker 3: I mean, the best companies are there to exist to
- 38:32Speaker 3: help people, and that's how you end up being successful.
- 38:36Speaker 3: It's got to be about everyone else and then the
- 38:38Speaker 3: money comes.
- 38:38Speaker 1: Man, Thank you for coming in. By the way, man,
- 38:40Speaker 1: I really appreciate it.
