- 0:12Speaker 1: Hi, Hello everybody.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Welcome to Week two, and welcome to the NFL Fantasy
- 0:15Speaker 2: Football Show. It's me your man, MG Marcus Grant, joined
- 0:18Speaker 2: by Michael F. Floyo and Lakwan Jones. How are we
- 0:21Speaker 2: feeling start a week two? How are things?
- 0:23Speaker 3: I pulled a hammy playing slow pitch softball last night
- 0:26Speaker 3: for those who think we're not athletes on the show,
- 0:28Speaker 3: so I've been better.
- 0:29Speaker 1: You're not helping the allegations.
- 0:31Speaker 3: But I hit a home run, So there it is.
- 0:34Speaker 3: I pulled a hammy.
- 0:35Speaker 1: There it is. Once we hit.
- 0:37Speaker 4: Thirty, we're considered and we're considered wash.
- 0:39Speaker 1: So it is what it is.
- 0:41Speaker 3: Team washed all day.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Yeah, man, let's go.
- 0:43Speaker 2: That's why I like those veterans hanging on in the
- 0:45Speaker 2: league just a little bit longer to make me feel
- 0:47Speaker 2: kind of better about myself.
- 0:48Speaker 1: For sure. Lots to do today.
- 0:50Speaker 2: We're gonna go heavy on some starts and sets, but
- 0:52Speaker 2: also letting you know, can a couple of rookie pass
- 0:54Speaker 2: catchers stay hot in Week two? Which start tight end
- 0:57Speaker 2: might be hitting your bench and some bulpers which include
- 1:01Speaker 2: some redbirds getting hot down there in the desert. So
- 1:04Speaker 2: let's dive into the starts and sins, of course. Michael
- 1:06Speaker 2: lef Floya writes the column every single week on NFL
- 1:10Speaker 2: dot com. You can find it at NFL dot com
- 1:11Speaker 2: Slash Starts Sit, and I'm sure everybody just takes it
- 1:14Speaker 2: in stride and has.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Just nothing but constructive criticism for you.
- 1:18Speaker 3: I've did something I should have done. I looked at
- 1:20Speaker 3: YouTube comments from last week and people were calling out
- 1:23Speaker 3: the start sit plays before snap was even played. Someone
- 1:27Speaker 3: said in Mecca Buka, I was very dumb to say
- 1:29Speaker 3: to start them. Well, they vanished.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Yeah, they did.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Like Homer Simpson on the quand shirt, just kind of
- 1:35Speaker 2: like you back into the bushes again. You're not gonna
- 1:39Speaker 2: hear from those people again until week two.
- 1:42Speaker 3: They're all Week two comments guaranteed. They're like this idiot's back.
- 1:45Speaker 2: They're all the way back again. So let's dive into
- 1:48Speaker 2: your starts and sets. Let's start with the quarterback position,
- 1:51Speaker 2: the guys that you have on the plus side, the
- 1:53Speaker 2: guys that you have on the negative side.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Who are your starts and sits at quarterback? This week?
- 1:58Speaker 3: Just like last week, running with Justin f again, I
- 2:01Speaker 3: think he is going to run plenty and he looked
- 2:03Speaker 3: fantastic as a passer. I like, Justin Herbert, you gotta
- 2:07Speaker 3: wait till Monday night. But he threw a lot more
- 2:09Speaker 3: than anticipated and looked really good doing so. Kyler Murray
- 2:13Speaker 3: just has another advantageous matchup this week. And I know,
- 2:17Speaker 3: usually when you have a team that gives up the
- 2:19Speaker 3: run a lot, you're like, that doesn't help a quarterback.
- 2:21Speaker 3: But it's Kyler Murray, so that helps the quarterback. Dak
- 2:24Speaker 3: Prescott has a long history of success against the Giants,
- 2:27Speaker 3: Drake May gets the Dolphins that I think we are
- 2:29Speaker 3: going to pick on the Dolphins secondary a lot this season,
- 2:33Speaker 3: and then some sits Jared Goff, I'm really worried about that.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Olon and the Bears were able to generate pressure in
- 2:38Speaker 3: Week one. C J Shrouds same thing that Oline did him.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Absolutely no favors against Lakwan's rams. Aaron Rodgers, I'm not
- 2:45Speaker 3: buying the four touchdown day, Like, if he doesn't do that,
- 2:48Speaker 3: you're probably looking at a much smaller fantasy number. Trevor
- 2:51Speaker 3: Lawrence is only for the desperate. I know a lot
- 2:52Speaker 3: of people might be considering him because of the matchup.
- 2:55Speaker 3: And then Daniel Jones like, if I'm not buying Aaron Rodgers.
- 2:57Speaker 3: There's no way I'm buying.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Daniel Jones the whole.
- 3:00Speaker 2: I just say, you look at the four touchdown, that's great.
- 3:02Speaker 2: His average air yards per attempt like four point three,
- 3:05Speaker 2: Like that was I mean just extended handoffs from Aaron
- 3:09Speaker 2: Rodgers to his pass catches. Five percent of his passing
- 3:12Speaker 2: yards were a yards after the catch. One of the
- 3:15Speaker 2: thames on here, Justin Herbert Lakwan. We came into the
- 3:18Speaker 2: season thinking the Chargers are going to be really run heavy.
- 3:20Speaker 2: They threw the ball sixty of the time in Week one.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Wile do we maybe have to readjust our evaluations on Herbo.
- 3:29Speaker 4: Yeah, it looks like they got a new DNA over there,
- 3:31Speaker 4: you know in LA, the other LA team. But I
- 3:33Speaker 4: do feel like, you know, this being the week one start,
- 3:36Speaker 4: they started off bounds fifty pass and run last year
- 3:41Speaker 4: in Week one, I think this is a new formula
- 3:43Speaker 4: of having Keenan Allen added to this passing group. He
- 3:46Speaker 4: has another reliable wide receiver on this offense, and I
- 3:49Speaker 4: think they might lean into that. And also seven rushing attempts,
- 3:53Speaker 4: he looked good with the wheels getting out of the pocket.
- 3:55Speaker 4: So I do feel very comfortable having Justin Herbert on
- 3:58Speaker 4: my rosters, and he's going to be a start and
- 4:00Speaker 4: forget for me if he comes out of this week
- 4:02Speaker 4: shining how he did in Week one.
- 4:04Speaker 1: I do want to correct you on one thing.
- 4:06Speaker 2: The Chargers are actually the original LA team.
- 4:10Speaker 1: The Rams came from Cleveland. I'm just putting that out there.
- 4:14Speaker 3: All I know, my history brother, no coach loves their
- 4:18Speaker 3: quarterback more than no one. Did you see Harborough's quote
- 4:21Speaker 3: the other day? He was like, Herbert took a hit
- 4:23Speaker 3: that would have killed a lesser man. I had tears
- 4:25Speaker 3: in my eyes, like it's the funniest quote I've ever heard.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Find someone who loves you the way Jim Harbor loves justin.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Herbert the reason to his players, I hope he doesn't
- 4:36Speaker 3: have sons because they got replaced.
- 4:41Speaker 2: As we dive into this this Charger offense a little
- 4:44Speaker 2: bit more, I know, we sort of went back and
- 4:46Speaker 2: forth about who's the alpha between Lad McConkie and Keenan Allen.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Let's also not forget Quentin Johnston though in this offense.
- 4:54Speaker 2: I know we'll talk about some wide receivers a little
- 4:56Speaker 2: bit later on, but are we looking at a situation
- 4:58Speaker 2: Florida where now there are three legit pass catchers to
- 5:02Speaker 2: take into account with the.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Chargers, I think so, I think Quinton Johnston is going
- 5:06Speaker 3: to be a little bit more volatile than the other two.
- 5:09Speaker 3: I feel the floors are much safer with Keenan and
- 5:12Speaker 3: with lad but the passing volume was funneled through these
- 5:17Speaker 3: three guys, and I don't see. You look at the
- 5:20Speaker 3: rest of their roster and like, I don't see a
- 5:22Speaker 3: reason for that to change. Like Quentin Johnston, say what
- 5:26Speaker 3: we will about him, but something I pointed on Fantasy
- 5:29Speaker 3: Live is like, even when he was struggling in the past,
- 5:32Speaker 3: he was getting open. He was just dropping them, you know,
- 5:35Speaker 3: like he's now. The catch rate is the biggest thing
- 5:37Speaker 3: that changed from week one compared to past years. And
- 5:40Speaker 3: he's their go to guy in the red and end zone.
- 5:42Speaker 3: So touchdowns alone are probably gonna keep him a float
- 5:45Speaker 3: most weeks.
- 5:45Speaker 2: I'm not trying to say he's DeVante Adams, but let's
- 5:48Speaker 2: remember DeVante Adams his rookie year.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Had major issues with drops and.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Packers fans were ready to be done with him, and
- 5:54Speaker 2: he just instead blossomed into one of the top receivers
- 5:57Speaker 2: in the league. So you know, sometimes you can work
- 6:00Speaker 2: on a problem and you can get better. And maybe
- 6:02Speaker 2: that's what Quinton Johnston is doing. That's all I'm saying.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Yeah, the right.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Oh wait, one real quick thing. Tremor Lawns is on
- 6:10Speaker 2: the sets. Where is he on the middle meter? And
- 6:12Speaker 2: does he move up in the middle meter? You think
- 6:14Speaker 2: this this week?
- 6:15Speaker 4: The middle meter needs to be updated. It needs to
- 6:18Speaker 4: based down here where I can extend the board to
- 6:20Speaker 4: T low because boy, week one was terrible, so hopefully
- 6:25Speaker 4: in week two we can actually get some movement here.
- 6:27Speaker 4: So I do kind of want to move him up
- 6:30Speaker 4: in this matchup, but then he has to prove me wrong,
- 6:32Speaker 4: you know, then we'll see.
- 6:33Speaker 3: He should start in the middle and.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Week to week.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Yeah, you know what if we if we can offer
- 6:40Speaker 2: a revision you have you have T law, T mid
- 6:43Speaker 2: and then T low and you can go from like
- 6:45Speaker 2: low to law eventually or something like that.
- 6:47Speaker 4: I mean, after week one performance, we can revise the
- 6:50Speaker 4: board and he will be at T low of the
- 6:52Speaker 4: deep depths of the Earth's core.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Right, it's not even Trevor Midlaw.
- 6:56Speaker 1: We're going Trevor Trevor Low.
- 7:00Speaker 2: This is it's kind of where has him right now?
- 7:03Speaker 2: All right, let's let's move over to the running backs.
- 7:05Speaker 2: As we look at the starts and sits there, who
- 7:07Speaker 2: you got up, who you got down?
- 7:08Speaker 3: I'm playing Breeze Hall because the Bills were ran all
- 7:11Speaker 3: over and he has a history of success against him.
- 7:14Speaker 3: O Marion Hampton dominated volume and touches and pass game usage,
- 7:17Speaker 3: and people still were complaining it's ridiculous to me, Traveon Henderson.
- 7:22Speaker 3: I know week one wasn't what we wanted, but I
- 7:25Speaker 3: think this is a kind of matchup where the big
- 7:27Speaker 3: plays come. Tony Poller just dominates volume and I think
- 7:30Speaker 3: that's enough to make him a strong start in fantasy.
- 7:33Speaker 3: And same thing with Travis Etn. Travis Etn was so
- 7:36Speaker 3: good that they were like, we're gonna trade your competition away.
- 7:39Speaker 3: And then the sits. It really pains me, Isaiah Pacheco,
- 7:42Speaker 3: but the usage really frightened me in week one, and
- 7:45Speaker 3: the matchup is scary. Kenneth Walker did not like the
- 7:47Speaker 3: usage at all for week one. Not a must sit,
- 7:50Speaker 3: more option dependent. RJ. Harvey just I know lq's gonna
- 7:55Speaker 3: be upset with me over this. I want Harvey to
- 7:57Speaker 3: be a thing. But seven touches and so few snaps
- 8:01Speaker 3: it's hard to trust the Browns running backs if Quinn
- 8:05Speaker 3: Shawn Jupkins plays, If not, Samson could be in play
- 8:08Speaker 3: as a flex option. And then Nick Chubb. Look, I
- 8:11Speaker 3: know he had a few good runs in the preseason,
- 8:13Speaker 3: but that old line is gonna tear everything down.
- 8:16Speaker 2: I think it broke my brain to look and see
- 8:18Speaker 2: Brown's rbs and then Nick Chubb intwo separate. I was like, wait,
- 8:24Speaker 2: that's right, that's right. Not used to seeing that at all. Okay,
- 8:28Speaker 2: lakwan with R. J. Harvey, do you want to tell
- 8:31Speaker 2: Florio to his face why he's wrong? Or do you
- 8:33Speaker 2: want to get on your burner and go to the.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Want Tom do it?
- 8:37Speaker 4: Listen, this is I'm gonna take this from Michael Scott.
- 8:39Speaker 4: Why are you the way you are?
- 8:42Speaker 1: Why?
- 8:42Speaker 4: Why? How do you watch this man lead his team
- 8:45Speaker 4: in scrimmage yard See how explosive he is and he
- 8:47Speaker 4: has that home brank Look we got the clip, yes,
- 8:50Speaker 4: let's go, and that's in between the tackles. Everybody was
- 8:53Speaker 4: crying about him bouncing outside too much. That's in between
- 8:56Speaker 4: the tackles and he's still getting a field. I think
- 8:58Speaker 4: Sean Payton is gonna unleash him this you know why,
- 9:00Speaker 4: because Manti is my Sean Peyton whisperer. Okay, Manti, I
- 9:05Speaker 4: want to shout you out, because if he goes off
- 9:07Speaker 4: this game, all the credit goes to him. He is
- 9:10Speaker 4: going to be ramped up in these touches, and I
- 9:12Speaker 4: think this game he's going to bounce outside because exactly
- 9:15Speaker 4: what bres Hall was able to do last week. I
- 9:17Speaker 4: think that you know, we're going to see a revamp
- 9:20Speaker 4: of the electric going into r J.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Harvey. Wait, how did Manti tayl become the Sean Payton whispers.
- 9:26Speaker 3: Because yeah, yeah, I was wondering where that tie.
- 9:29Speaker 4: Listen. He knows a little bit that I don't want
- 9:31Speaker 4: to disclose yet, but he knows how Sean Payton actually
- 9:35Speaker 4: operates as a coach. So I just want to put
- 9:37Speaker 4: that out there that Manti's my whisper when it comes
- 9:40Speaker 4: to r J. Harvey.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Moving forward, well, I guess they were probably in New
- 9:44Speaker 2: Orleans together, Yeah, trying like where they would have crossed pass.
- 9:47Speaker 4: After the charger after New Orleans.
- 9:49Speaker 1: There you go, all right, that makes some sense.
- 9:52Speaker 2: We'll get back to some more starts and says a
- 9:53Speaker 2: little bit later on in the show, we want to
- 9:55Speaker 2: turn our attention to some of the Marquee prime time
- 9:58Speaker 2: games in Week two, starting with Sunday Night Football. The Falcons,
- 10:03Speaker 2: after losing a heartbreaker, they go to Minnesota to take
- 10:05Speaker 2: on the Vikings, who pulled one out against the Bears
- 10:08Speaker 2: on Monday night. You can see that game on Sunday eight,
- 10:11Speaker 2: twenty e Eastern time on NBC and at Universo as well.
- 10:17Speaker 2: JJ McCarthy Florida was really good in the second half
- 10:19Speaker 2: of that game. Would you consider starting him in one
- 10:23Speaker 2: QB leagues option dependent?
- 10:26Speaker 3: I think, like, obviously you're not playing him over any
- 10:30Speaker 3: of the top five quarterbacks that were drafted. I'm not
- 10:32Speaker 3: playing him over Justin Fields. I would rather play Kyler
- 10:36Speaker 3: Murray this week. I would rather play Dak. I like
- 10:39Speaker 3: Drake may like if you have like him or Goff,
- 10:43Speaker 3: I still think I would play.
- 10:44Speaker 2: We should playm over Caleb because you know, like that
- 10:51Speaker 2: they were the guys that went to the head last week.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I would, Okay, I like the matchup better, Okay, all.
- 10:57Speaker 3: Right, but it's close. It's it's very close, all right,
- 11:00Speaker 3: all right?
- 11:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I think.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Falcon pass rush is underrated, But you know, let's also
- 11:06Speaker 2: not forget what we all believed Kevin O'Connor will put
- 11:08Speaker 2: his quarterback in a position to succeed, and that's what
- 11:11Speaker 2: we saw in week one.
- 11:12Speaker 1: You gotta believe he could do it again.
- 11:13Speaker 3: The thing I always say with JJ is like, you're
- 11:15Speaker 3: not trusting him, You're trusting Koc Justin Jefferson, Hawkinson and
- 11:19Speaker 3: all that around him exactly exactly.
- 11:21Speaker 1: And look he's at home and it's a Yes.
- 11:24Speaker 2: The Falcons have a good pass rush, They're still not
- 11:25Speaker 2: as good defensively as the Bears, so maybe reasons to
- 11:29Speaker 2: be optimistic there. Looking at the first touchdown odds for
- 11:32Speaker 2: the Sunday night game between the Falcons and the Vikings,
- 11:36Speaker 2: you will not be shocked to learn that John Robinson
- 11:39Speaker 2: has the best touchdown odds.
- 11:40Speaker 1: No, no way.
- 11:41Speaker 2: It's hard to believe right that you know a guy
- 11:43Speaker 2: who's one of the best running backs in the league
- 11:45Speaker 2: has the first has the best.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Wild though, I will say, or.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Number two. Did you put this list together out? Yes,
- 11:54Speaker 1: I feel like.
- 11:56Speaker 2: The fact that Jordan Mason is ahead of Justine y
- 12:00Speaker 2: Person is a little bit wild. Jesse Jefferson is third
- 12:03Speaker 2: at plus six fifty, Aaron Jones is number four, and
- 12:06Speaker 2: then Drake London both Jones and London.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Coming in at plus nine hundreds. We still got plenty
- 12:13Speaker 1: left to go through.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Still got a couple of Monday night football games that
- 12:16Speaker 2: we want to dive into, plus some more of the
- 12:19Speaker 2: Stardoms and Sidams, wide receivers and.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Tight ends, plus some bold predictions, all still to.
- 12:23Speaker 2: Come here on the NFL Fantasy Football Show. Continuing on
- 12:32Speaker 2: through our look at the week two primetime games. We
- 12:35Speaker 2: got a pair of Monday night games coming up this week.
- 12:37Speaker 2: The first one the Buccaneers at the Texans. You can
- 12:40Speaker 2: see that Monday, seven pm Eastern on ESPN ABC and
- 12:43Speaker 2: ESPN de Portes. Baker Mayfield a guy we were drafting
- 12:48Speaker 2: as a top five, maybe top six, probably top six,
- 12:51Speaker 2: top seven quarterbacks, probably a little bit more accurate with
- 12:53Speaker 2: a Baker Mayfield.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Decent start in Week one. The touchdown numbers certainly helped. Lakwan.
- 12:59Speaker 2: Would did you consider Baker I start this week? I
- 13:02Speaker 2: guess the really physical Texans defense.
- 13:05Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm worried about that pass rush. I'm worried about
- 13:07Speaker 4: them getting takeaways from Baker. So I'm kind of pivoting
- 13:10Speaker 4: in my own personal leagues from putting Baker in this
- 13:12Speaker 4: week because look, my Rams might have gotten the win,
- 13:15Speaker 4: but it was a very close game, a very ugly win.
- 13:17Speaker 4: But it was one of those games where the Texans
- 13:19Speaker 4: defense was fierce on that defensive line, and I'm not sure.
- 13:22Speaker 4: With Baker struggling last week in the passing yards, it
- 13:25Speaker 4: looked like it was just mass in his fantasy performance
- 13:27Speaker 4: by a three touchdowns, which is great, But this Texans
- 13:30Speaker 4: defense is definitely gonna be physical. They're gonna be fast,
- 13:33Speaker 4: flying around. They're gonna be getting that pressure on Baker.
- 13:35Speaker 4: So I'm pivoting to other options this week.
- 13:39Speaker 2: I also was looking at the wide receiver matchup there
- 13:42Speaker 2: for a Mecca Abuka, who was fantastic in Week one.
- 13:46Speaker 2: I would imagine he's gonna line up on Derek Stingley
- 13:48Speaker 2: a few times. Stingley one of the top corners in
- 13:50Speaker 2: the NFL. I don't expect Stingley's gonna travel like I
- 13:53Speaker 2: don't think he's gonna travel around with Mike Evans h
- 13:55Speaker 2: so he may line up on Abuka.
- 13:56Speaker 1: I think this is gonna be his first real test
- 13:59Speaker 1: ye wide receiver.
- 14:01Speaker 2: If I have Baker, I'm probably starting him, but I'm
- 14:04Speaker 2: kind of with you on I'm not super excited about
- 14:08Speaker 2: what it could be this week for him, for sure.
- 14:11Speaker 2: The other money nine game Chargers in Las Vegas is
- 14:13Speaker 2: take on the Raiders and you can see that game
- 14:16Speaker 2: ten pm Eastern on ESPN and also on ESPN Deportes.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Ashton Gent not great in Week one. He scored the
- 14:23Speaker 2: touchdown which definitely kind of helped boost his numbers. The
- 14:26Speaker 2: Chargers have a good run defense. Shouldn't we be worried
- 14:28Speaker 2: about Gent this week?
- 14:30Speaker 3: I'm not at that point yet. He played eighty six
- 14:33Speaker 3: percent in the snaps last week. He had twenty one opportunities.
- 14:36Speaker 3: He got the goal on work. To me, that's what
- 14:39Speaker 3: I care about most in week one is opportunity, and
- 14:42Speaker 3: he had all of it. Now, I get it tough
- 14:45Speaker 3: Chargers run defense week Raiders O line. But if genty
- 14:49Speaker 3: is the talent that we think he is, he'll be
- 14:51Speaker 3: able to overcome stuff like that.
- 14:52Speaker 2: And I should definitely clarify like, I don't think this
- 14:55Speaker 2: is something like panic he's a bust or whatever I
- 14:58Speaker 2: think he had, you know, didn't have a great in
- 15:00Speaker 2: Week one. I just think he's a tough matchup in
- 15:01Speaker 2: Week two. I think over the long haul, Ashton Gent
- 15:04Speaker 2: is going to be fine. If you spent a first
- 15:06Speaker 2: round or early second round pick on him. I'm not
- 15:09Speaker 2: telling you should freak out and try to like trade
- 15:11Speaker 2: him or anything like.
- 15:11Speaker 3: There were people freaking out on Twitter though.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think we're at that point.
- 15:16Speaker 4: Yeah, like we're we're a long way from that long season.
- 15:20Speaker 4: If you're panicking in week one.
- 15:21Speaker 2: If you're panicing already, exactly, it's just I just look
- 15:24Speaker 2: at it as a tough matchup and you know, hey,
- 15:27Speaker 2: maybe you know, he just didn't get off to a
- 15:28Speaker 2: good start.
- 15:29Speaker 3: Someone on Twitter was like, is Terry McLaurin done for?
- 15:31Speaker 1: And I was like, no, name, what are we doing.
- 15:36Speaker 3: It's a reminder that like not everyone you know, they're
- 15:39Speaker 3: they're they're living in.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Week to week.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Yeah, which game? But man, sometimes just just take a
- 15:47Speaker 2: deep breath. It's gonna be all right.
- 15:48Speaker 4: Last I saw, yeah.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Remember your pressure points. Let's get back to the starts
- 15:54Speaker 2: and sits. Looking at the wide receivers. A lot of
- 15:57Speaker 2: names on this side here, who are your starts and
- 16:00Speaker 2: sets here?
- 16:01Speaker 3: I'm going with Travis Hunter, who led the team in
- 16:03Speaker 3: targets and catches last week in a game that I
- 16:06Speaker 3: think the Jaguars have to throw a lot more Ricky Pearsall.
- 16:09Speaker 3: I know Brock Purdy isn't going to be playing, but
- 16:11Speaker 3: I still think he's in play as the top target
- 16:14Speaker 3: for the forty nine ers Niners min Irwin, I'm a
- 16:18Speaker 3: believer he's the top option for Josh Allen. He's the
- 16:21Speaker 3: end zone option. Ameca Abuka, I know here everything you
- 16:25Speaker 3: guys were saying. I still think he's gonna see a
- 16:27Speaker 3: lot of time at a slot. And the Texans gave
- 16:29Speaker 3: up the third most slot yards. I know that's pooping Nakua,
- 16:31Speaker 3: but still Calvin Ridley, I think is just gonna have
- 16:34Speaker 3: a much better day because he's not gonna have Pat
- 16:36Speaker 3: Sirtan on him for over eighty percent of the snaps.
- 16:39Speaker 3: And then I also have Marquise Brown and Keenan Allen
- 16:42Speaker 3: as starts the sits Jalen Wattle because man, it's getting
- 16:46Speaker 3: ugly fast in Miami, Jerry Judy, the Brown spread the
- 16:51Speaker 3: ball out a lot last week, and the Ravens defense
- 16:53Speaker 3: I think is a lot better than it looked in
- 16:55Speaker 3: Week one. Michael Pittman Junior. For the same reason that
- 16:58Speaker 3: Calvin Ridley had a bad game in Week one, probably
- 17:00Speaker 3: gonna have a bad game and Week two for Pittman
- 17:02Speaker 3: because of Patrick's Aerten and then Cooper Cup. Like, I mean,
- 17:05Speaker 3: I don't even know if Sam Darnold knows Cooper Cup
- 17:08Speaker 3: is a thing right now.
- 17:09Speaker 2: I I know he only got the three targets. I
- 17:12Speaker 2: think they're gonna start spreading it out a little bit more,
- 17:14Speaker 2: just gonna have to. Like Jackson, Smith and Jagba had
- 17:17Speaker 2: thirteen targets, the rest of the Seahawks had nine combined,
- 17:19Speaker 2: and like, that's just not sustainable the course of a
- 17:22Speaker 2: full season. You're we'll go a little bit off menu here, Lakwan, Yeah,
- 17:27Speaker 2: I know. We were going back and forth about who
- 17:29Speaker 2: is the alpha in the Chargers passing game? Is it Ladd,
- 17:33Speaker 2: is it Keenan Allen? I feel like this is not
- 17:35Speaker 2: gonna be the last time we have this conversation. But
- 17:38Speaker 2: that being said, Keenan came back to Los Angeles and
- 17:41Speaker 2: reminded you of who he was all those years with
- 17:44Speaker 2: the Chargers.
- 17:44Speaker 4: Oh yeah, he did, man, And just looking at the stats, man,
- 17:47Speaker 4: thirty five percent of his routes he was targeted on.
- 17:49Speaker 4: He only played sixty one percent of the snaps, So
- 17:51Speaker 4: that just heightens his attention that he brings on the
- 17:54Speaker 4: field and the comfortability with Justin Herbert. I know Ladd
- 17:57Speaker 4: is there as well, but he is a compimary piece
- 17:59Speaker 4: to this all offense. I think he makes a lot
- 18:01Speaker 4: of decoy decisions for a lot of defenders making business
- 18:04Speaker 4: decisions to obviously cover him because he is just as good.
- 18:07Speaker 4: But when Keenan Allen's on the field, he has been
- 18:09Speaker 4: nothing but an alpha his entire career. I think there
- 18:12Speaker 4: is still a lot of juice left in Keenan Allen.
- 18:15Speaker 4: His target separation rate is still above league gabage it
- 18:18Speaker 4: was last season as well, generated one hundred targets with
- 18:21Speaker 4: the Chicago Bears with Kayla Williams. I think that he's
- 18:23Speaker 4: still going to be the Keenan Allen that we known
- 18:26Speaker 4: in love when he was in that Chargers uniform.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Moving forward, I thought was interesting that he played a
- 18:31Speaker 2: lot out wide. I think we just got so used
- 18:34Speaker 2: to him being a big slot receiver and doing damage there,
- 18:37Speaker 2: But I spent a lot of his time out wide
- 18:39Speaker 2: in Week one, was heavily used, was pretty much almost
- 18:42Speaker 2: exclusively used in three wide receiver sets. Now again, the
- 18:45Speaker 2: offense a lot more pass heavy in Week one than
- 18:48Speaker 2: we anticipated, so that definitely.
- 18:50Speaker 3: Helps forgetting every ounce of Keenan Allen out. So when
- 18:52Speaker 3: those legs get wobbly late in the year, you.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Know we're gonna have We're gonna have that week right
- 18:58Speaker 2: where Keenan's like on the end report and he's gonna
- 19:01Speaker 2: be like, I'm gonna play this week and then he'll
- 19:02Speaker 2: get like two targets. He's gonna be like a decoy
- 19:04Speaker 2: out there or something like that. Like we always have
- 19:06Speaker 2: one of those weeks with Keenan Allen.
- 19:08Speaker 4: I do expect him to ramp it up with him, man,
- 19:10Speaker 4: I do expect that sixty one percent a snap just
- 19:12Speaker 4: kind of gets up there higher and hire man because
- 19:14Speaker 4: he can still ball and he's shown this to that and.
- 19:16Speaker 2: Yeah he's thirty three though, step dude, we're thirty three.
- 19:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not trying to play sixty percent in the
- 19:24Speaker 3: NFL game.
- 19:25Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.
- 19:25Speaker 3: I pulled my hand. He's playing slow pitch softball.
- 19:28Speaker 4: I'm just saying, that's not old to me.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Man, we stay out here kicking. I ain't washed in
- 19:32Speaker 1: real life.
- 19:32Speaker 3: No, it's what we it's not old for the Earth's
- 19:34Speaker 3: not too old for the Earth's old.
- 19:37Speaker 1: That's what it is all right, let's move over to
- 19:39Speaker 1: the tight ends. Florida. Who are your starts?
- 19:42Speaker 3: And since now that seed is just gonna run my
- 19:45Speaker 3: head all day, Tyler Warren is a mustard already. I
- 19:48Speaker 3: don't even think I have to explain that one. Uh
- 19:51Speaker 3: Evan Ingram we the weirdest injury thing, Like we're not
- 19:53Speaker 3: getting any news on him. If he ends up playing
- 19:56Speaker 3: this week, I think he's solid. If not, obviously you
- 19:58Speaker 3: got to go in another direction. Hunter Henry is just underappreciated,
- 20:02Speaker 3: and again I want Patriots in this matchup. Jake Ferguson
- 20:05Speaker 3: was the number two target for DAK last week, and
- 20:07Speaker 3: I think he is a safety blanket. And then Juan
- 20:10Speaker 3: Johnson I think is just the apple of Spencer Rattler's
- 20:12Speaker 3: eye for whatever that means, since the Swifties are gonna
- 20:16Speaker 3: come for me. But I don't love the matchup. I
- 20:18Speaker 3: don't love the Week one usage, I don't love the
- 20:20Speaker 3: production going back to last year. So if you have
- 20:22Speaker 3: another tight end you like, I think try to get
- 20:24Speaker 3: away from Kelsey.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Tucker.
- 20:26Speaker 3: Craft is super touchdown dependent, at least with the Week
- 20:28Speaker 3: one volume, and even with the touchdown, he didn't have
- 20:31Speaker 3: ten Fantasy points. Dal Kincaid had a big game, but
- 20:34Speaker 3: I don't think it was four targets. You can't really
- 20:36Speaker 3: rely on that, Harold Fan and Junior. I want on
- 20:38Speaker 3: as many rosters as I can, but I want to
- 20:41Speaker 3: see it a second week and against the tough defense
- 20:44Speaker 3: like the Ravens before. I just blindly put him in,
- 20:46Speaker 3: but again that's a little bit more option dependent. And
- 20:49Speaker 3: then Colson Lovelin, like I want him to be a thing.
- 20:52Speaker 3: But Cole Comet was the tight end one on Monday Night.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Yeah, that was absolutely wild over on the start side,
- 20:57Speaker 2: Quhan are feeling furgolicious this week?
- 20:59Speaker 1: Yeah, man, I like that.
- 21:00Speaker 4: That's kind of a wild man. But Fergie Fergi is, Yeah,
- 21:04Speaker 4: he's part of this Cowboys offensive game plan. Like I
- 21:08Speaker 4: was really impressed with his target share eighteen percent, and
- 21:11Speaker 4: I honestly think that when you look how this season
- 21:13Speaker 4: is going to look, it's gonna be the trio of
- 21:16Speaker 4: Cede Lamb, George Pickens and Jake Ferguson. This is everything
- 21:18Speaker 4: Isaiah Stanback has been telling us all his time when
- 21:21Speaker 4: Good Morning Football, explaining how this Cowboys offense is going
- 21:25Speaker 4: to be operating. That is Dak's security blanket. And we
- 21:27Speaker 4: have to remember in twenty twenty three he let all
- 21:29Speaker 4: tight ends in red zone targets. With twenty three, I
- 21:32Speaker 4: could see this ramping up as the season progressed, once
- 21:35Speaker 4: they get all in sync and George Pickens's role is
- 21:38Speaker 4: in stone of what he's actually gonna be. I do
- 21:40Speaker 4: think that Jake Ferguson just goes under the radar for
- 21:42Speaker 4: a lot of folks man, and he can ball when
- 21:44Speaker 4: he's healthy.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's gonna be better. I think he
- 21:48Speaker 2: gets some more help from his teammates soon. That's just
- 21:50Speaker 2: gonna help everybody around him in that passing game.
- 21:52Speaker 1: All right.
- 21:53Speaker 2: For more of the Startup sitt, of course, you can
- 21:55Speaker 2: go to NFL dot com slash Starts sit and see
- 21:57Speaker 2: the entirety of Michael Florio's column. Now, get you ready,
- 22:01Speaker 2: get that, get that We're shot. I get that glass
- 22:03Speaker 2: of milk, and it's time for hot takes. We're gonna
- 22:05Speaker 2: close out the show by getting a little bit spicy, lakwan,
- 22:08Speaker 2: what is your hot take for the week.
- 22:10Speaker 4: I'm buying tickets to the Kyle Pits Breakout Show, and
- 22:13Speaker 4: I'm expecting a top five performance. I'm not all the
- 22:17Speaker 4: way back I'm going to check it out. The night
- 22:19Speaker 4: one reviews were cool, they were calm, collected, but with
- 22:21Speaker 4: Drake Linon banged up, Michael Pennix kept his word that
- 22:25Speaker 4: Kyle Pits will be involved in this offense. And I
- 22:27Speaker 4: love how Zach Robinson is using him in this offense.
- 22:30Speaker 4: So they're creating opportunities for him to get open and
- 22:33Speaker 4: not making them work too hard. So I'm expecting a
- 22:36Speaker 4: top five performance from Kyle Pitts SR.
- 22:40Speaker 1: Man. I just I want to believe it.
- 22:41Speaker 2: I'm I feel like I have less faith in the
- 22:43Speaker 2: Falcons this week than a lot of other people, but
- 22:44Speaker 2: I'm ready to be proven wrong.
- 22:46Speaker 1: I will be glad to be wrong.
- 22:48Speaker 3: I stream Pits in the league last week. It worked
- 22:50Speaker 3: out then, yeah, a little bit.
- 22:51Speaker 1: A little bit work.
- 22:52Speaker 4: I can tell you different views when I get back
- 22:54Speaker 4: from the show.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Sounds good, Florido, what's your hot take for the week.
- 22:59Speaker 3: I think this is gonna Drake Mayn's breakout week because
- 23:02Speaker 3: of the matchup against the Miami Dolphins and Daniel Jones
- 23:05Speaker 3: and everything that the Colts did last week. So Drake
- 23:08Speaker 3: made three hundred passing yards and three touchdowns. And when
- 23:12Speaker 3: I submitted my bold prediction this week for for NFL
- 23:15Speaker 3: dot Com, I called my shots on who the three
- 23:17Speaker 3: touchdowns are gonna be Keishawan Bouti, Okay Hunter, Henry Traveon Henderson.
- 23:25Speaker 2: I was waiting for a Pop Doug. I was waiting
- 23:26Speaker 2: for a pop Douglass in there. But all right, I'll
- 23:28Speaker 2: take that. I'm down with that for sure. My my
- 23:32Speaker 2: hot take right now. I'm gonna I'm actually up the
- 23:35Speaker 2: ante because what I originally said was that both Cardinals
- 23:37Speaker 2: running backs score a touchdown, right that James Connor Trey
- 23:42Speaker 2: Vinson each have a touchdown. I'm gonna add some spice.
- 23:45Speaker 2: I'm gonna drop another little uh, you know, a couple
- 23:47Speaker 2: of halapagnos. Maybe a ghost, not a ghost. Pepper's not
- 23:49Speaker 2: quite that hot. But Kyler Murray also has a rushing
- 23:52Speaker 2: touchdown in this one. So you get a rushing or
- 23:55Speaker 2: receiving touchdown from the running backs, you get a rushing
- 23:57Speaker 2: touchdown from Kyler Murray as well. The Panthers last year
- 24:02Speaker 2: statistically the worst run defense in the league. They give
- 24:06Speaker 2: up like six hundred and fifty more yards and the
- 24:08Speaker 2: next worst team. They also were tired for the second
- 24:11Speaker 2: most rushing touchdowns allowed and in Week one, they didn't
- 24:13Speaker 2: get any better. So I think you're gonna see a
- 24:17Speaker 2: run heavy game script. You know, Kyler Murray can get
- 24:19Speaker 2: out of the pocket and do damage with his legs
- 24:21Speaker 2: as well, so I think we're gonna see a lot
- 24:23Speaker 2: of that coming.
- 24:24Speaker 1: Up this week.
- 24:24Speaker 3: And you know the Cardinals game plan ways to not
- 24:26Speaker 3: get touchdowns.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Yes exactly, So they're gonna right in line, they're gonna
- 24:31Speaker 2: get right, they're gonna get inside the five, and then
- 24:34Speaker 2: they're gonna run the football.
- 24:35Speaker 1: So there you go.
- 24:35Speaker 3: THO like Tray go down't fall down, fall out of
- 24:39Speaker 3: the two so we can run it in.
- 24:40Speaker 1: That's what we're gonna do. That's a good spot for
- 24:42Speaker 1: us to wrap it up. That is it. We are done.
- 24:45Speaker 2: We appreciate you hanging out with the NFL Fantasy Football Show.
- 24:48Speaker 2: You know the drill. Tell two friends to tell two
- 24:49Speaker 2: friends rate review and remember fries or salad sums up
- 24:53Speaker 2: every adult decision you have to make, be safe to
- 24:55Speaker 2: carry yourselves.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Enjoy week to everybody, and we'll talk to you again
- 24:58Speaker 1: on Monday.
- 25:00Speaker 4: Wow.
- 25:01Speaker 2: Warm
