- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey guys, welcome back to Wise Cracks. Bill Crackerberger, John
- 0:02Speaker 1: Land over here at the West Gate. We are in
- 0:04Speaker 1: the clubhouse room where they have the black curtains up
- 0:07Speaker 1: because I decided to whack. John want to see it. Yeah, no,
- 0:11Speaker 1: it's it's uh. You can hang meet in here, though
- 0:14Speaker 1: it's freezing. It's cold.
- 0:16Speaker 2: I ever learned? Ever learn?
- 0:18Speaker 1: Yeah? Well, you just want to show your guns, as.
- 0:20Speaker 3: You call them guns, Yeah, you know, senior citizen guns
- 0:24Speaker 3: to the gun show.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I went to the gun show the other day.
- 0:27Speaker 1: There's a gun show at Tuscany. Speaking of which, yeah,
- 0:31Speaker 1: gun Tuscany has like all different vendors set up for
- 0:35Speaker 1: guns and like you good goods buy them. Oh yeah
- 0:39Speaker 1: right there. I just you show your concealed weapons from
- 0:42Speaker 1: you and you ten minutes, you're done.
- 0:44Speaker 2: It's the best.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Yeah, you're done in ten minutes. So but anyway, that's
- 0:48Speaker 1: just funny. You said that.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Did you use it yet? No?
- 0:51Speaker 1: No I didn't. So one of the man asks when
- 0:55Speaker 1: you bot, when you buy a gun, do you do
- 0:56Speaker 1: you go to the rain get in there? Yeah? Oh
- 0:59Speaker 1: really yeah I have four?
- 1:01Speaker 2: Now, so range?
- 1:03Speaker 1: What does that? He went to the range a month ago?
- 1:06Speaker 1: Really yeah, yeah, I brought the wife over to really. Yes, yes,
- 1:10Speaker 1: I love that. That's why I got a lighter I
- 1:12Speaker 1: showed you a lighter gun. It's it's just better for
- 1:17Speaker 1: I got to tell you something I don't like. I
- 1:19Speaker 1: don't want to get into a gun show here, but
- 1:21Speaker 1: I don't like shooting a louder, heavier gun like a
- 1:24Speaker 1: glock or something like.
- 1:25Speaker 2: You know, I get it.
- 1:26Speaker 1: But anyway, all right, that's that's another subject. But John,
- 1:31Speaker 1: you know, I was thinking about the life of a gambler,
- 1:35Speaker 1: and why do I know about this? I was one
- 1:38Speaker 1: of them when I was a kid, even though I
- 1:40Speaker 1: was around such. My cousin was real sharp, taught me
- 1:43Speaker 1: card kind of from a young age. And I used
- 1:45Speaker 1: to work on that boardwalk and I had I knew
- 1:49Speaker 1: what the customers bet. In other words, I knew because
- 1:55Speaker 1: of back then it was all legal bookies everywhere, so
- 1:58Speaker 1: they would make the Yankee. He's more favorite than we
- 2:02Speaker 1: used to have the newspapers, the Daily News in New
- 2:03Speaker 1: York Post, they had the latest line. Some people will
- 2:05Speaker 1: know out there, what I mean, The latest line was
- 2:07Speaker 1: always there, even though gambling was illegal. Every day the
- 2:11Speaker 1: Post in the News had that latest line. So, and
- 2:15Speaker 1: you know, even if the line was seven eight, that
- 2:18Speaker 1: was called seven eight baseball back then. I'll explain it
- 2:20Speaker 1: to you. Seven eight meant eight means you're laying a
- 2:23Speaker 1: dollar six eighty to win fifty, and seven means you're
- 2:27Speaker 1: betting fifty to win seventy. It's really seven eight. It's
- 2:29Speaker 1: really strange. Unlike unlike minus a dollar eighty it would be.
- 2:33Speaker 1: It was different, and.
- 2:34Speaker 2: It was based off fifty dollars bets.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Fifty dollars bets on. Yeah, it would have been if
- 2:38Speaker 1: you put into dollar amounts a dollar sixty actually, so
- 2:41Speaker 1: it's a dollar six. But yeah, so that's how the
- 2:43Speaker 1: New York papers had the lines. But remembering what it
- 2:47Speaker 1: was back then, if you met with a local guy,
- 2:50Speaker 1: you were laying more on the Yankees sometimes even the Mets.
- 2:53Speaker 1: At the eighty six Mets were really good, won the
- 2:56Speaker 1: World Series. Actually, so behind the bag. Yes, what a
- 3:00Speaker 1: great call, What a great call, right, wasn't that great? Yeah? Yeah?
- 3:04Speaker 1: Was that Bill Buckner? Yeah, Bill Buckner, I think he
- 3:07Speaker 1: passed to I liked he made fun of himself on Seinfeld.
- 3:10Speaker 1: I liked the guy, I really did. But so anyway,
- 3:15Speaker 1: they would make the Yankees more. They would make the
- 3:18Speaker 1: giants and jets more, even though they were always terrible.
- 3:20Speaker 1: I shouldn't they were terrible, giants were okay, But I
- 3:24Speaker 1: would be the guy taking the other side of that.
- 3:25Speaker 1: And I knew that because my cousin taught me that,
- 3:28Speaker 1: and the bookmakers used to get mad at me. It's
- 3:30Speaker 1: like one day I was in a bar in South
- 3:32Speaker 1: Philly with a buddy of mine and he was saying,
- 3:36Speaker 1: you can bet with the bookmaker at the bar. I
- 3:38Speaker 1: was like, what does that mean? Bookmaker? Every bar like
- 3:40Speaker 1: not a lot of corner mars. They had a bookmaker
- 3:43Speaker 1: just right in the bets, paying at track prices. So
- 3:46Speaker 1: I was a little djent. I went in there. Of
- 3:48Speaker 1: course I had ten dollars on a worse I got
- 3:50Speaker 1: back eighty bucks and the guy got pissed. He's never
- 3:52Speaker 1: seen him before. I just walked in at ten dollars
- 3:54Speaker 1: to win, and the guy got really mad. That's just funny.
- 3:56Speaker 1: I just little things I remember. But yeah, carbets though,
- 4:00Speaker 1: even the baseball like that, that was a sucker. But
- 4:03Speaker 1: you know, but however, I knew better, going back to
- 4:06Speaker 1: my original subject, I knew better. I knew what was
- 4:09Speaker 1: the right things to do. But yet I was still
- 4:11Speaker 1: a little DJN. I would make money at these sharp
- 4:14Speaker 1: advantage things and blow it at the racetrack, you know,
- 4:16Speaker 1: or blowed up my buddies going down to Atlantic City.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Couldn't wait to get down there. Life of a gambler,
- 4:20Speaker 1: every day waking up trying to make a score with
- 4:24Speaker 1: the money you have, and when that's gone, you then
- 4:27Speaker 1: try to figure out can I get other money? And
- 4:30Speaker 1: that could mean anything credit cards, borrowing, sell stuff. It's
- 4:35Speaker 1: exactly excel stuff. It's exactly what the casino corporations wanted
- 4:39Speaker 1: you to do, even though they never publicly put that
- 4:41Speaker 1: out there. You know, they want to grind those people
- 4:45Speaker 1: into the ground. They're the people that they always say
- 4:48Speaker 1: the whales. Well, if it wasn't for Joe publics that
- 4:52Speaker 1: do exactly what I said, they might as well put
- 4:54Speaker 1: a lock on the door. Because there are people that
- 4:56Speaker 1: the everyday people that you know, they talk about these
- 5:00Speaker 1: know your customer law. Now there's no one asking someone
- 5:04Speaker 1: that knows you're cuting, you know kyc law of someone
- 5:07Speaker 1: that comes in two times a week blowing five hundred
- 5:09Speaker 1: or a thousand. They're your bread and butter. Though they're
- 5:12Speaker 1: the guys that are actually hurting and doing exactly what
- 5:15Speaker 1: I just explained. I just think about my own life
- 5:18Speaker 1: and the guys I was around. Now listen, maybe you'll
- 5:20Speaker 1: even say, wow, Bill, I really not around those type
- 5:23Speaker 1: of guys that were that much of degenerates. But if
- 5:25Speaker 1: you grew up in gambling states like New Jersey, man,
- 5:30Speaker 1: we had everything. We had casinos, racetracks, the lottery, underground
- 5:34Speaker 1: games after our joints. I can go on and on
- 5:37Speaker 1: and on. We gambled on the boardwalk, on the reels
- 5:40Speaker 1: that were the wheels that were merchandise wheels where you
- 5:43Speaker 1: can win candy toys, had cigarette stands, but at nighttime
- 5:46Speaker 1: they became real gambling games Keno Skillo.
- 5:49Speaker 2: They were all skilled skill what skill?
- 5:52Speaker 1: It was just a game like like it's just like Keno.
- 5:55Speaker 1: It's a boardwalk game. A lot of the boardwalks had
- 5:58Speaker 1: had them games. Yeah. They had horse race games where
- 6:01Speaker 1: you take a ball, you throw like a ski ball
- 6:04Speaker 1: game and it goes to a little yeah.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Yeah, Circus had that. Okay, well you shoot a water
- 6:09Speaker 2: gun and the horses.
- 6:10Speaker 1: They were all gambling games. Kingsburg, Broadwall, Kingsburg and Jersey people.
- 6:14Speaker 1: If anyone knows back and then wow at night, they
- 6:17Speaker 1: became gambling games. These guys gambled for real money. Yeah.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Matter of fact, there was a guy who owned up
- 6:22Speaker 1: let's to tell you how Kingsburg growing up in that
- 6:24Speaker 1: boardwalk town, Kingsburg had a place called the Walking Boys.
- 6:29Speaker 1: It was The guy's name was Danny, nice guy from Atlanta, Collins,
- 6:32Speaker 1: New Jersey. Danny had these games in you go in
- 6:35Speaker 1: his in his building, he had about twelve different games
- 6:40Speaker 1: of the wheels, the different kind of games of skill,
- 6:43Speaker 1: and you'd earn tickets to get his merchandise, beautiful statues.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Danny used to have the used to get the greatest merchandise.
- 6:49Speaker 1: And then nineteen seventy seven hit seventy eight, the casinos
- 6:54Speaker 1: became legal. He lost so much business because that was
- 6:57Speaker 1: really gambling. Yeah, he lost so much business. People used
- 7:00Speaker 1: to come down and make a weekend of it just
- 7:01Speaker 1: hanging out with Danny and you know, playing the games
- 7:04Speaker 1: to get the tickets. That he actually wound up closing
- 7:09Speaker 1: that business, going out of business and committing suicide. Which
- 7:13Speaker 1: I'm such a nice guy. I always felt so bad
- 7:15Speaker 1: Danny Walking Boys and the town was something I loved
- 7:20Speaker 1: living in that town though, you know, we walked. The
- 7:24Speaker 1: whole town was a mile square. I used to just
- 7:26Speaker 1: walk to work every day. I worked on that boardwalk
- 7:28Speaker 1: for over a a dozen years, starting with my aunt
- 7:32Speaker 1: and uncle's pizza business, and then I worked in the games,
- 7:35Speaker 1: games of chants and other things arcade. I worked in
- 7:38Speaker 1: so many different things, but I had no chance getting
- 7:41Speaker 1: out of the gambling life. It was a rite of passage.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Like I always say, you know, back in the Bronx
- 7:46Speaker 1: and New York and Jersey, everyone knows there's not just that,
- 7:48Speaker 1: you guys know if there's lots of cities like that,
- 7:51Speaker 1: you know, Detroit, Pittsburgh, at a lot of Pennsylvania towns,
- 7:55Speaker 1: a lot of towns you would never think in western Pennsylvania,
- 7:58Speaker 1: like Gambling Ohio. You know you can use now only
- 8:04Speaker 1: they always talk about Stuperville, young'stown. There was just so
- 8:07Speaker 1: many towns across America. You know, the Baltimore's and then
- 8:11Speaker 1: you could just go on and on and on Cleveland
- 8:13Speaker 1: and so many different places.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Do you remember what your biggest score was back then?
- 8:18Speaker 2: And what your biggest loss was?
- 8:19Speaker 1: One of my biggest loss, I don't know my biggest score.
- 8:22Speaker 2: What was the biggest loss terrible.
- 8:24Speaker 1: I was chasing when I was a kid. I was seventeen, sixteen,
- 8:28Speaker 1: seventeen beton with a book maker, and I was chasing
- 8:31Speaker 1: losses and I lost like five figure, like ten grand
- 8:34Speaker 1: on iona. Oh yeah at that age.
- 8:37Speaker 2: You know what's funny, that's like a million.
- 8:39Speaker 1: I look at that now. I think about that now.
- 8:43Speaker 1: I think I was I might have been sixteen. How
- 8:45Speaker 1: about that. How could a book maker take a bet off,
- 8:50Speaker 1: even even a thousand bucks off a sixteen year old kid. Yeah,
- 8:53Speaker 1: I think about that now. And by the way, we
- 8:56Speaker 1: paid it. I paid every penny. Yes, I borrowed it,
- 8:59Speaker 1: paid every penny, absolutely, paid every penny back.
- 9:02Speaker 2: In the moment or slow slowly paid well.
- 9:05Speaker 1: No, I borrowed the money to pay pay the book
- 9:07Speaker 1: baker immediately immediately and paid back the guy over the
- 9:11Speaker 1: next two years with interest.
- 9:13Speaker 3: And back then you kind of had to pay immediately, right, Yeah,
- 9:16Speaker 3: they didn't.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Yeah, But my point is now, looking at it now,
- 9:19Speaker 1: at my age, if that happened to someone I know,
- 9:24Speaker 1: I would go after a book maker, not to go
- 9:25Speaker 1: after them.
- 9:26Speaker 2: No, trying to say a cup, what are you doing
- 9:28Speaker 2: sixteen years old?
- 9:29Speaker 1: You want to take bets off of a sixteen year
- 9:30Speaker 1: old kid, you know, thinking about it now, it's just
- 9:33Speaker 1: not Yeah, that's not cool. No, that's just not cool.
- 9:36Speaker 1: How do you take bets off a sixteen year old kid.
- 9:39Speaker 1: I'm not saying it doesn't go on.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Now, that's a lot of money back, Yeah, it's a
- 9:41Speaker 2: ton of money, a lot of money.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Now, it's a ton of money that it's embarrassing. But
- 9:46Speaker 1: I like, I want to tell tell people that because
- 9:48Speaker 1: they can learn something from my loss. I teach that
- 9:51Speaker 1: now responsible gambling. Don't chase one of the skill sets.
- 9:55Speaker 1: You know, it's easy to do.
- 9:57Speaker 3: It's so easy to do, like baseball, you know, like
- 10:00Speaker 3: opening Day, think of opening Day as pass baseball schemes
- 10:03Speaker 3: got bounced in like the first.
- 10:05Speaker 2: Or second inach.
- 10:06Speaker 3: Oh wow, yeah, this guy his era is like one
- 10:09Speaker 3: point seventy nine right now for the season.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, and he got shelled opening Day.
- 10:14Speaker 3: Like you think that's easy money, Like there's so many
- 10:16Speaker 3: matchups sometimes you go, oh.
- 10:19Speaker 2: This is easy.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Yeah, this is off the subject here. Do you ever
- 10:23Speaker 1: go into does Vanessa ever send you into a Costco
- 10:26Speaker 1: or Sam's or anything like? That?
- 10:27Speaker 2: Was just in Costco literally two days ago.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Okay, that's funny.
- 10:30Speaker 2: I was in Costco two days I was with Brian Hopkins.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Okay, so I was in Costco two days ago, so
- 10:35Speaker 1: I really don't go that often though hardly ever.
- 10:38Speaker 2: Were you in the one right on Rainbow and.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Yes, Rainbow two fifteen, Yes, yeah, the new one that's
- 10:43Speaker 1: where I was. Yeah, yeah, I was there anyway, So
- 10:45Speaker 1: we're both there the same day. So walking in there though, yeah.
- 10:50Speaker 1: So I got the cart and my wife gave me
- 10:52Speaker 1: a couple of things to get and I started thinking myself,
- 10:54Speaker 1: I'm looking at this store. I said, why do we
- 10:57Speaker 1: shop here? There's two of us? This is called big
- 11:00Speaker 1: box stuff, you know what I mean? Like, but but
- 11:02Speaker 1: you do too. It's only two with you, you know
- 11:04Speaker 1: what I mean?
- 11:04Speaker 2: Like?
- 11:05Speaker 1: Why do you shop there? After? I'm walking around though,
- 11:09Speaker 1: it's almost like going to I'll use the Brigatta in
- 11:11Speaker 1: Atlantic City whenever Gotta opened. You were so excited being
- 11:15Speaker 1: in there. I want to spend money now on stuff
- 11:17Speaker 1: I don't need. Yeah, I swear to see endorphins go
- 11:20Speaker 1: through you.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Those muffins or whatever they're.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Endorphins get pumped up. I want to buy stuff now
- 11:25Speaker 1: because everyone has carts full of stuff passing you by.
- 11:27Speaker 1: I said, well, I guess I'm supposed to do that too.
- 11:29Speaker 1: So I come up the othersten. I went there for
- 11:31Speaker 1: two things. They come home with thirteen or fortune. My
- 11:33Speaker 1: wife's like, are you crazy? What are we going to
- 11:35Speaker 1: do with this stuff? I was like, oh, this is
- 11:37Speaker 1: a good deal. This was you know. And and now
- 11:39Speaker 1: they had the little practice tables. Will they give away
- 11:41Speaker 1: samples right now? I'm not one for that. I don't
- 11:44Speaker 1: know the sanitary condition. I'm a little weird when it
- 11:47Speaker 1: comes to that. But it's amazing. I think people go
- 11:50Speaker 1: there just for.
- 11:51Speaker 2: That, oh one hundred percent.
- 11:53Speaker 1: No, yes, I was kind of saying it being in the.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Half of one hundred percent.
- 11:56Speaker 3: There's people that just it's something to do, go around,
- 11:58Speaker 3: have some samples, look at some stuff, and then no, no.
- 12:01Speaker 1: I could see that. I could see there's six bucks.
- 12:03Speaker 1: I could just see it now that they're crazy. I
- 12:05Speaker 1: could see like a lady getting one goal and I
- 12:08Speaker 1: could see her whole goal was to go and get
- 12:10Speaker 1: another one. Yeah, I just was I was looking at
- 12:13Speaker 1: the mannerisms of the people getting the free beest. I'm
- 12:16Speaker 1: not saying it's not bad, but people that that's their
- 12:19Speaker 1: that that's how they get over. I guess that's the
- 12:21Speaker 1: that's their positive ev I guess yeah. Yeah. So they
- 12:24Speaker 1: have stuff all different, all different things set up. Give
- 12:28Speaker 1: me a little samples of stuff. Yeah, And I could
- 12:30Speaker 1: see it. It does sell things. Something tastes good in
- 12:32Speaker 1: the moment. Bang, where's that at?
- 12:33Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 12:34Speaker 1: But I just didn't know if you were over there,
- 12:37Speaker 1: you were there two days ago. You get so pumped
- 12:39Speaker 1: up in cost. I don't I don't get it. But anyway,
- 12:42Speaker 1: all right, back to gambling. This is my probably my
- 12:44Speaker 1: favorite thing.
- 12:45Speaker 2: When I see it, I see it.
- 12:46Speaker 1: So Dana White pens a letter urging Donald Trump to
- 12:50Speaker 1: undo this ninety stupid gambling lost deduction cap. So I
- 12:55Speaker 1: was really happy to see that he would get involved.
- 12:59Speaker 1: His letter warns the phantom income tax discourages legal wagering
- 13:02Speaker 1: and undermines the no tax on tips. And you know
- 13:06Speaker 1: which is Trump's policy over there. I think this is great.
- 13:10Speaker 1: It's it's White is intervention marks the highest profile industry
- 13:13Speaker 1: push to restore the full hundred percent tax deduction for gamblers,
- 13:17Speaker 1: which of course should be so.
- 13:19Speaker 2: And people are going to complain about this.
- 13:21Speaker 3: Oh, it's so funny with out of doubt, out of
- 13:23Speaker 3: that corporations have been had been doing it crooked way,
- 13:27Speaker 3: you know what I mean?
- 13:28Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you know those the politicians that there's a
- 13:32Speaker 1: word for it. I can't do a lobbyist, lobbyist. Yeah, yeah,
- 13:35Speaker 1: of course it happens all But anyway, this was a
- 13:38Speaker 1: very good I read the whole thing about the letter,
- 13:40Speaker 1: and I read I.
- 13:41Speaker 3: Really hope, honestly crazy that this is even the thing.
- 13:44Speaker 3: I think, how did they even get approved in the
- 13:46Speaker 3: first place is crazy.
- 13:48Speaker 1: I hope that that gets uh, that gets passed for sure.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Now these prediction markets. Yeah, so they were supposed to
- 13:54Speaker 1: have a conference here at the Area Prediction Market Conference
- 13:58Speaker 1: December seventh to ninth. The Nevada Gaming Board has forced
- 14:03Speaker 1: this company that was doing this prediction market media with
- 14:06Speaker 1: all the different prediction market it's a convention. They're not
- 14:10Speaker 1: even having it here. That's how much Nevada is against
- 14:12Speaker 1: prediction markets, against the cal Shee's and of the world.
- 14:16Speaker 1: So it's gotten pushed here to New York, to New York,
- 14:20Speaker 1: but they were planning to host this prediction market. It's
- 14:24Speaker 1: just amazing Nevada is they are still that old rule.
- 14:28Speaker 1: You know, mister Rothstein. The people will never know we're
- 14:32Speaker 1: all just our you're all just our guest. So Nevada
- 14:35Speaker 1: is just they have a judge that voted against prediction
- 14:39Speaker 1: markets and we are not allowed to play like Calshie
- 14:44Speaker 1: here right now, this is I thought it was kind
- 14:48Speaker 1: of interesting. So now New York, I just told you
- 14:52Speaker 1: New York actually, well yeah, they actually are encouraging things.
- 14:56Speaker 1: They're commissioned. They're urging the public to only bet with
- 14:59Speaker 1: license operators. And here so I'm reading this thing about
- 15:02Speaker 1: the state Gaming regular regulators in New York saying prediction
- 15:06Speaker 1: markets should be used to trade on sport events. So
- 15:09Speaker 1: New York and these other places are as you could
- 15:10Speaker 1: see here, this is New York City. Look at that
- 15:13Speaker 1: ad there, This was Mamdani and Pomo. Eighty six percent
- 15:17Speaker 1: of fourteen percent. That's on Calshi. So that that was
- 15:20Speaker 1: the advertise everywhere but Calshi. Probably there's no company that
- 15:25Speaker 1: spent more money on Super Bowl ads in Las Vegas
- 15:27Speaker 1: than Calshi. Cal she was on every corner, the big corners.
- 15:30Speaker 1: They had all their ads, remember for Super Bowl and
- 15:33Speaker 1: oh the election it was the election, I'm sorry, the election.
- 15:35Speaker 1: When it was election odds, there was caw she was
- 15:37Speaker 1: on every corner here.
- 15:39Speaker 3: I've seen that in Polymarket you can't turn on TV
- 15:42Speaker 3: and Eline.
- 15:44Speaker 1: A couple of places.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Have voluymarket sponsors UFC.
- 15:48Speaker 1: I want to say, I think they're on BEVERLEUEM. Yeah, yeah,
- 15:51Speaker 1: that's the wrong word.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:53Speaker 1: So the prediction markets are eighteen plus. I didn't know
- 15:57Speaker 1: that either eighteen years old. It's a responsible gaming at
- 16:00Speaker 1: could saying that eighteen year old eighteen of them could
- 16:02Speaker 1: lead to higher rates of problem gamblers for futures gamblers
- 16:05Speaker 1: In Pennsylvania, the most calls right now for the one
- 16:08Speaker 1: hundred gambler lines are people between the ages of eighteen
- 16:11Speaker 1: and twenty four. That surprised me. I thought it was
- 16:14Speaker 1: an older crowd of people that would call there. Now
- 16:17Speaker 1: that shows me that what I'm saying and why I
- 16:21Speaker 1: put that out there is so much about responsible gambling.
- 16:23Speaker 1: I am one hundred percent correct, Yeah you are. It
- 16:25Speaker 1: is those eighteen to twenty four year olds where I
- 16:27Speaker 1: thought it was maybe even to forty years old. So
- 16:30Speaker 1: it's these new people eighteen to twenty four. Think about that,
- 16:33Speaker 1: twenty four year olds are the oldest makeup of this
- 16:37Speaker 1: group that is calling the eight hundred numbers. That means
- 16:41Speaker 1: eight years ago when Papa was repealed. They were only sixteen,
- 16:46Speaker 1: you know, fifteen and sixteen and seventeen. They were kids.
- 16:50Speaker 1: They were conditioned right away to the DraftKings, fanduels, all
- 16:53Speaker 1: the big markets, the season, all the big to pay
- 16:57Speaker 1: double the juice on money, money lines, to accept you know,
- 17:03Speaker 1: twenty five cent baseball lines, to accept so many things
- 17:08Speaker 1: of parlays being so popular. These are the kids that
- 17:13Speaker 1: didn't know any better because when they were younger, they
- 17:14Speaker 1: didn't even play it. And now it's in their face
- 17:17Speaker 1: all the time. And these are the ones that were
- 17:19Speaker 1: hurt the most because they just can't beat it no
- 17:22Speaker 1: matter what all social media says and these influencers say.
- 17:26Speaker 1: And so it's interesting. I find it very interesting about
- 17:31Speaker 1: how Nevada is not letting that happen at all. And
- 17:38Speaker 1: I guess it'll be champing, but maybe not. You know,
- 17:39Speaker 1: we don't have DraftKings and fandel here. Offices are on
- 17:44Speaker 1: Durango where they're nice.
- 17:46Speaker 2: They've all building.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Beautiful offices that they're they're actually making decision making for
- 17:51Speaker 1: the risk departments are here telling people around the country
- 17:54Speaker 1: whether they can get it better, how much the better,
- 17:56Speaker 1: what it may be you know, using the the site
- 18:00Speaker 1: all around the world in the country. I mean, yet
- 18:02Speaker 1: it's not legal here in state. So we'll see what
- 18:05Speaker 1: We'll see what happens there. So this was interesting. So
- 18:09Speaker 1: there was a show called The Long Island Medium who
- 18:12Speaker 1: was a I guess she tells the like you know
- 18:15Speaker 1: there you go to they tell your fortunate psychond. Yeah,
- 18:20Speaker 1: I knew you were good for something on the show.
- 18:23Speaker 1: But this is interesting. So the producer from that show
- 18:27Speaker 1: has a casting search for a new gambling project. This
- 18:31Speaker 1: story is Devin O'Connor. Well this is different though, this
- 18:36Speaker 1: one's different than that. What you're thinking was they were
- 18:39Speaker 1: just that was kind of a failure. I thought it
- 18:43Speaker 1: was a failure. They just didn't do enough due diligence
- 18:46Speaker 1: and research on that. They put anyone on there that
- 18:48Speaker 1: had money and they thought they can know they can win.
- 18:51Speaker 1: So this casting call is for actually, this is to
- 18:57Speaker 1: seek out gamblers for its next project. They're looking for, uh,
- 19:02Speaker 1: this is a nonscripted television television industry. They're looking for
- 19:07Speaker 1: people that admit about being degenerate gamblers, compulsive gamblers, people
- 19:11Speaker 1: that have problem gambling.
- 19:13Speaker 2: But did you look at me?
- 19:14Speaker 1: I didn't look at you.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Yeah, you just looked at me just now.
- 19:16Speaker 1: No, I was planning to. I can't believe you said that.
- 19:20Speaker 2: You just looked at me, as you said to Jenner Gamble,
- 19:22Speaker 2: you looked over at me.
- 19:23Speaker 1: I didn't have to see you back and run. I
- 19:25Speaker 1: want to run. That backs just a natural reaction. Yea,
- 19:28Speaker 1: it is what it is. People are getting upset that
- 19:31Speaker 1: I pick on you too. My friend in Pennsylvania, you know,
- 19:34Speaker 1: my friend at Scranton saw you pick on John too.
- 19:37Speaker 1: One just say he likes it.
- 19:38Speaker 2: I like it, he likes it. Say I don't mind it.
- 19:40Speaker 1: I told you all right, but no, I like that
- 19:43Speaker 1: you are Admittedly you know you don't care about the
- 19:47Speaker 1: rake and poker. You don't talk about things. You're gambling
- 19:49Speaker 1: about horse rap doesn't matter, right, you want me to
- 19:53Speaker 1: stop picking on them? Gamble.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Thirteen days from now, I'm going to show you how
- 19:57Speaker 2: the rake doesn't matter. Event number one continue World Series. Yeah,
- 20:01Speaker 2: thirteen days from today.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Now, do you have a plan to play things? Are you? Yeah?
- 20:05Speaker 2: Thirteen events?
- 20:07Speaker 1: Do you still have you told me a story about earlier?
- 20:09Speaker 1: We can't talk about that yet. You had some plans
- 20:11Speaker 1: to get backed? No?
- 20:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I get some No, yeah, I mean, okay, no,
- 20:17Speaker 3: but yeah, I'm covered, all right, you got.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Some what is right? No, I know, did you talk
- 20:24Speaker 1: to some of these these broods that yeah, you're got California,
- 20:26Speaker 1: some of these old girls that want to show then
- 20:28Speaker 1: you give a little places once in a while. No, No, okay,
- 20:31Speaker 1: that's what people do. You know what, that's what a
- 20:33Speaker 1: lot of people, you know a lot of people. Man,
- 20:35Speaker 1: let's not get into what I I don't want to say.
- 20:37Speaker 1: I don't want to say I said it. And then
- 20:38Speaker 1: people say I'm picking on you know some of the
- 20:43Speaker 1: you know, a husband and wife stand in California, right,
- 20:46Speaker 1: you got to say who? But so the husband dies,
- 20:49Speaker 1: he's a rich lawyer, rich this and that. So now
- 20:51Speaker 1: that you know the girls left up like sixty eight
- 20:53Speaker 1: seventy five, they look for where you had got a
- 20:58Speaker 1: few bucks for you. I know you've ventured in that
- 21:01Speaker 1: area in the past. But anyway, so going back to
- 21:06Speaker 1: this scripted series here, Yeah, actually, non scripted series gambling
- 21:11Speaker 1: more mainstream than ether. There are many concerns that rates
- 21:13Speaker 1: of problem gambling or escalating, especially young among you know,
- 21:17Speaker 1: among young men, problem problem gamblers wanted. So they're looking
- 21:22Speaker 1: for problem gammers to share their honest, real life stories
- 21:25Speaker 1: of struggle, resilience, and path forward. Those who have experienced
- 21:29Speaker 1: a major fall from grace due to gambling but found
- 21:32Speaker 1: their way back are encouraged to apply.
- 21:38Speaker 2: This show will be big.
- 21:39Speaker 3: This is a series or series, Yeah, this is going
- 21:42Speaker 3: to be big Netflix, or it.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Just says that it was fu it was from the
- 21:47Speaker 1: Long Island Medium producer. I think I can't wait for
- 21:51Speaker 1: this to come out. I hope I will be a
- 21:54Speaker 1: I'll little bit. I will literally be a consultant on
- 21:57Speaker 1: this for nothing. If they asked me to, I would
- 21:59Speaker 1: love to because I want to see if they're going
- 22:02Speaker 1: to show real stuff just people that want to get
- 22:04Speaker 1: on TV.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Right, you know?
- 22:06Speaker 1: So I think this is uh, this could be a
- 22:10Speaker 1: really interesting show if it's done the right way.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, yeah, for sure, pretty interesting.
- 22:15Speaker 1: I mean, of course the casinos don't want that show,
- 22:18Speaker 1: of course not. Oh wow, look at this.
- 22:22Speaker 2: This is horrible.
- 22:23Speaker 1: I hope this is not true. So at one of
- 22:27Speaker 1: the casinos, I'm not going to say the casino. I'm
- 22:30Speaker 1: not going to say the casino. There's a casino. I
- 22:32Speaker 1: have to know both. This has got to be more
- 22:34Speaker 1: to the storyline. I can't throw any casino under the bus,
- 22:38Speaker 1: any of them. I don't care if it's Caesars, or
- 22:40Speaker 1: I don't care if I don't. I can't throw any
- 22:42Speaker 1: casino on the bus without knowing the full story here, ye,
- 22:45Speaker 1: so listen, you guys can go read it's right on
- 22:48Speaker 1: the internet. So a casino back east confiscated a seventy
- 22:54Speaker 1: six thousand dollars tip a customer gave to a waitress.
- 22:58Speaker 1: So he was betting twenty five thousand a hand. And
- 23:02Speaker 1: here the man had been gambling for several hours, had
- 23:04Speaker 1: won a significant amount of money while betting the maximum
- 23:07Speaker 1: twenty five thousand a hand. The waitress said to him,
- 23:11Speaker 1: his hands are a bunch of chips. And the waitress
- 23:13Speaker 1: says to him three times, this is, according to this
- 23:16Speaker 1: whether he really wanted to have her have the money
- 23:19Speaker 1: each time he insisted he did. According to a law suit,
- 23:21Speaker 1: the man was not in any apparent state of confusion
- 23:23Speaker 1: or impairment and continue to gamble for roughly an hour afterwards,
- 23:27Speaker 1: suggesting casino management considered him capable of making competent decisions
- 23:31Speaker 1: about his own money. Right, So, if the Bacqurell player
- 23:35Speaker 1: had bet seventy six thousand on him.
- 23:37Speaker 2: If he took his bets, you gotta let him tip.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Right, Yeah. In the lawsuit, it says, if this baccreroll player,
- 23:44Speaker 1: I bet seventy six thousand on red at roulette, what
- 23:47Speaker 1: do you? What do you? What do you being entitled
- 23:50Speaker 1: to keep the money? Like just they're just making an example, lawyer,
- 23:53Speaker 1: I guess so this is unbelieveable. After he left, management
- 23:58Speaker 1: demanded the plaintiff the waitress hand over the chips he
- 24:01Speaker 1: had given her, and the following day she repeatedly asked
- 24:04Speaker 1: about the tip, was met with silence. Later discovered the
- 24:06Speaker 1: managers had returned the money to the customer. Now, I
- 24:11Speaker 1: want to tell you something. This comes from experience Caesar's
- 24:15Speaker 1: in Atlantic City, nineteen ninety nine, ninety nine, ninety eight,
- 24:20Speaker 1: ninety nine, I think it's ninety nine. The guy comes in,
- 24:26Speaker 1: he won two million dollars first day, tipped the dealers
- 24:31Speaker 1: a million of it. He was drinking two million, just
- 24:34Speaker 1: kept on tipping. The boxes were full, the boxers. They
- 24:38Speaker 1: had a cheap bunk change in boxes for him. The
- 24:40Speaker 1: toke rate was literally like two thousand dollars a day
- 24:45Speaker 1: for all the dealers on all the shifts. This guy,
- 24:47Speaker 1: this guy changed everyone's you know, he made people really happy.
- 24:50Speaker 1: So he tipped the next day, came in again, broke
- 24:54Speaker 1: about even because he tipped all the money away, So
- 24:59Speaker 1: he tipped like a a couple of million dollars away.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Casino management wanted them out of the building. Why see,
- 25:05Speaker 1: if you can come up with why want they wanted
- 25:08Speaker 1: them out. They didn't want it, They didn't want his
- 25:09Speaker 1: business anymore. Wow, they can't get the money back. The
- 25:16Speaker 1: money's in the box that you're giving it to the employees. Well,
- 25:20Speaker 1: you should be happy. You should be happy that your
- 25:23Speaker 1: employees are making a lot of money, a happy deal
- 25:25Speaker 1: or a happy crowd, being better to the regular customers.
- 25:28Speaker 1: They wanted them out of the building and never allowed
- 25:31Speaker 1: them in again because they said, this guy wins, he
- 25:34Speaker 1: gives them money, and they we can't win the money back. Sure,
- 25:36Speaker 1: that's what they said.
- 25:38Speaker 2: It's just terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible.
- 25:41Speaker 1: I can't believe this situation in this story.
- 25:43Speaker 3: You know what happens in the nightclubs, uh, to the
- 25:46Speaker 3: best of my knowledge here in Vegas. You know, some
- 25:49Speaker 3: guys come in their tab is literally three four hundred
- 25:52Speaker 3: thousand dollars. You know, in the day club, as crazy
- 25:55Speaker 3: as that sounds, and they'll tip one hundred K and
- 25:57Speaker 3: it absolutely goes to the staff.
- 26:00Speaker 2: They don't, they don't. Yeah, they don't keep it.
- 26:01Speaker 1: One of the comments. She cannot lose, and the jury
- 26:03Speaker 1: may awarder five to ten million. This is an gregious
- 26:06Speaker 1: violation of the federal law. After the after the verdict,
- 26:10Speaker 1: she should have to state pursue criminal theft charges. Wow. No,
- 26:13Speaker 1: I don't think that's gonna happen, But I.
- 26:15Speaker 2: Hope he should get that money back.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Now if if if she gets it back, they're gonna
- 26:19Speaker 1: her job is done. They're gonna they'll they'll torture her.
- 26:22Speaker 1: She won't be able to be on the floor with
- 26:24Speaker 1: given drinks, you know what I mean. I can't believe
- 26:28Speaker 1: they wouldn't let her keep.
- 26:29Speaker 3: That great if he tips her back the money personally.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Yeah, man hires her right right, right right. Kerry Packer
- 26:37Speaker 1: was here in town at the MGM. I met him
- 26:38Speaker 1: twenty five years ago. Really yeah nice, Yeah, it was
- 26:41Speaker 1: nice twenty five thirty years ago, and he paid a
- 26:43Speaker 1: waitress's mortgage off. Yeah, at the.
- 26:46Speaker 3: Table like he was supposed to get that casino going
- 26:49Speaker 3: right across right, it felt didn't work. Yeah, shows you
- 26:54Speaker 3: how hard it is it is to get this stuff out.
- 26:57Speaker 2: That guy's got plenty of money and son.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Now he died with his son. His son's got giant money.
- 27:04Speaker 1: Let's go into the Weekly Wager Wire segment. This is
- 27:06Speaker 1: a very interesting one thirty one hundred dollars two hundred
- 27:09Speaker 1: and fifty three thousand, and the original the original bet
- 27:14Speaker 1: was here. It is Indiana College Football winner winner that
- 27:19Speaker 1: one Michigan to make the final four win now Detroit
- 27:23Speaker 1: NBA East winner and Colorado Stanley Cup winner. Colorado's up
- 27:28Speaker 1: to three to one right now. NBA East Detroit, well
- 27:31Speaker 1: tonight they played tonight and Detroit and Cleveland tied to too.
- 27:36Speaker 1: They are the favorite to win that series. To win
- 27:38Speaker 1: the East. I'm sorry to win that series. Then they
- 27:41Speaker 1: have to play the Knicks. Am I right by saying
- 27:43Speaker 1: that they have played the Knicks after that? So Knicker
- 27:45Speaker 1: and the waiting in the wing in the wings here,
- 27:47Speaker 1: I actually want the Knicks to win that win the East,
- 27:49Speaker 1: whoever they play, but thirty one hundred to win two
- 27:54Speaker 1: hundred and fifty three thousand right now. The original state
- 27:57Speaker 1: was plus eight to one. By the way, eighty six
- 28:01Speaker 1: and original steak was plus eight o seven ohs. Sorry,
- 28:04Speaker 1: current odds are plus eight thirty six. So original steak
- 28:08Speaker 1: was eighty or one now plus about eight and a
- 28:09Speaker 1: half to one. Right now it has a twenty seven
- 28:14Speaker 1: thousand dollars value, and then that take up was how
- 28:17Speaker 1: much it was three thousand. I'm definitely waiting, especially first
- 28:20Speaker 1: of all, if you have the money about thirty one
- 28:22Speaker 1: hundred dollars on a parlay, you're not going anywhere just
- 28:25Speaker 1: there right now on a sucker parlay. These are sucker
- 28:27Speaker 1: par I'm not a parlay guy. I'm against it. I
- 28:29Speaker 1: just told you about the gambling and things. How it's
- 28:31Speaker 1: eighteen to twenty four. These people are all betting parlays.
- 28:34Speaker 1: But however, on wager wire dot com and the wager
- 28:38Speaker 1: Wire app, these are available, these type of parlay deals
- 28:42Speaker 1: where actually you could find some good If you can
- 28:45Speaker 1: offer some money on these things, you know you may
- 28:48Speaker 1: be able to find yourself some value here, this particular one,
- 28:53Speaker 1: I would actually hold on to it if I was
- 28:55Speaker 1: this guy. Instead of taking he's taking twenty three thousand
- 28:57Speaker 1: change profit. If you're betting three thousands, you know eight
- 29:01Speaker 1: times eight x probably doesn't mean as much to you
- 29:03Speaker 1: as it was as it would someone betting thirty one
- 29:06Speaker 1: dollars or something, you know what I mean. So I
- 29:08Speaker 1: would wait on this one right listen tonight, even wait
- 29:12Speaker 1: past tonight's game. Detroit is a big favorite tonight. Yeah,
- 29:15Speaker 1: you know, I would wait for this. And even Colorado
- 29:19Speaker 1: Stanley Cup they're up three one, I would definitely wait.
- 29:21Speaker 1: I would not be wanting to sell a piece of
- 29:23Speaker 1: this right now.
- 29:24Speaker 2: I'm curious. So you just made me think of this.
- 29:27Speaker 2: You do make a lot of future prop bets, and.
- 29:31Speaker 1: I make future I make like regular season wins bets
- 29:35Speaker 1: right on college football.
- 29:36Speaker 2: You and you hit them pretty good, unbelievable, right, So.
- 29:41Speaker 3: You never sit and go okay, like I'm just making
- 29:44Speaker 3: it up. Like if you picked you know whatever, the Cowboys,
- 29:48Speaker 3: the Eagles, the Steelers, the Browns, whatever, and you hit
- 29:53Speaker 3: all of them.
- 29:53Speaker 2: You don't ever go back in your head and go
- 29:55Speaker 2: damn if I had that in a parlay.
- 29:58Speaker 3: No, you never never, because that's the first thing weve
- 30:02Speaker 3: being the degenerate side.
- 30:04Speaker 1: But but and that's why, see my buddy there in Pennsylvania.
- 30:09Speaker 1: You see why he bringer says on himself. But if
- 30:13Speaker 1: you think about what you just said, because you have
- 30:18Speaker 1: I have, I know I'm going to have implied value.
- 30:20Speaker 1: So if I'm going to bet, like, you know, a
- 30:23Speaker 1: football team, I'll use the Patriots. I'm going to bet
- 30:26Speaker 1: the Patriots over nine and a half wins. I know
- 30:30Speaker 1: by the time the season kicks off that I'm mealaying
- 30:34Speaker 1: a dollar ten, I'll have some value because it'll be
- 30:36Speaker 1: a dollar thirty, a dollar forty, maybe even be a
- 30:39Speaker 1: may eving up to ten wins. So the implied value
- 30:42Speaker 1: of that, it's like implied pot odds in poker.
- 30:44Speaker 2: YEP.
- 30:45Speaker 1: With the implied value, I would actually I would actually
- 30:49Speaker 1: be open to making parlays like that if they accepted them.
- 30:52Speaker 1: Like the perfect example, I was betting overnight college basketball
- 30:56Speaker 1: parlays for years because I was laying, you know, one
- 31:00Speaker 1: on three games, and then the next day it was
- 31:02Speaker 1: going to be two and a half or three. So
- 31:04Speaker 1: therefore the edges in my favor by betting that in
- 31:07Speaker 1: a parlay overnight, because I can only be five hundred
- 31:10Speaker 1: dollars on a straight bet overnight. However, I can bet
- 31:12Speaker 1: as many round robins as I want because they say, oh,
- 31:14Speaker 1: it's a sucker bet. But by the time the game
- 31:16Speaker 1: kicks off, it will not be a sucker bet. I'll
- 31:19Speaker 1: have the best of the odds for those games. So
- 31:21Speaker 1: so to answer your question, very yeah, you're very good.
- 31:24Speaker 1: Very good anyway. So that's over on wedgwire dot com
- 31:28Speaker 1: and the wadge warre app interesting that some of these,
- 31:31Speaker 1: some of these giant parlays.
- 31:32Speaker 2: Let's see, it's exciting to read thirty What is that
- 31:36Speaker 2: kind of story I sent you yesterday? I sent it
- 31:40Speaker 2: to you and JH about the poker player.
- 31:43Speaker 1: Yep, hold on, yeah, where they do we have a
- 31:46Speaker 1: story on?
- 31:46Speaker 2: He's got it? He's he made a ten thousand dollars
- 31:49Speaker 2: bet on. I forgot who it was to win a
- 31:53Speaker 2: championship to win two million? Hold on, fine that hold on,
- 31:59Speaker 2: let me find it.
- 31:59Speaker 1: We're gonna talk about poker poker shills, which I forgot
- 32:02Speaker 1: they had poker shills back in the day. This is
- 32:05Speaker 1: on pokernews dot com. This is your life. Huh, Nick writer,
- 32:08Speaker 1: who's to sell two million dollars sports ticket? I didn't
- 32:12Speaker 1: read it yet. So what did he do? John?
- 32:15Speaker 2: He he made a ten thousand dollars bet?
- 32:18Speaker 1: Oh really on, I'll I'll read it. I know you
- 32:22Speaker 1: sent it to me. And I didn't. I'm sorry, I
- 32:25Speaker 1: didn't get the reading.
- 32:26Speaker 3: No, it's okay, it's okod you know, I get it,
- 32:28Speaker 3: all right, consider the source.
- 32:30Speaker 1: You know, consider the sort.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I get it.
- 32:33Speaker 1: Oh you said to us on a group Timberwolves.
- 32:35Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, two and one Timberwolves at the beginning of
- 32:39Speaker 3: the season and one to win the NBA title.
- 32:42Speaker 2: He's dead, ten thousand dead.
- 32:45Speaker 1: I hope he wins. I have I have Minnesota in
- 32:46Speaker 1: the future, but you do, yeah, one, no, no, no, no,
- 32:52Speaker 1: I didn't have that kind of future. But I mean,
- 32:55Speaker 1: I hope he's Minnesota's playing Dallas. It's w NBA. I
- 32:59Speaker 1: got the one, of course, san Antonio. San Antonio killed
- 33:02Speaker 1: me yesterday. Yeah, san Antonio there four and a half
- 33:05Speaker 1: in Minnesota. Minnesota's got a lot of Minnesota's up against
- 33:09Speaker 1: it there. But hey, listen, I hope the guy wins it.
- 33:11Speaker 1: Do you know the guy?
- 33:12Speaker 2: No, I don't. I don't.
- 33:13Speaker 1: But calling back to poker, Yeah, so this is an
- 33:17Speaker 1: article years ago. Even Jennifer Harmon she was a shill
- 33:21Speaker 1: back in the day, which I didn't realize.
- 33:23Speaker 2: She was a prop player.
- 33:24Speaker 1: It was called a shill, a prop player back in
- 33:26Speaker 1: the day. A lot of these casinos had these so
- 33:29Speaker 1: called prop players. They kind of went away when I
- 33:32Speaker 1: first came to Vegas and early I came to Vegas,
- 33:34Speaker 1: I think I was nineteen ninety two. Was the first
- 33:36Speaker 1: time I was here? How about you here? Were here
- 33:38Speaker 1: before that? Yeah? Yeah, right, you gotta be.
- 33:41Speaker 2: I went to UNLB eighty eight to ninety.
- 33:44Speaker 1: Did you went to college? No? I didn't even know this. Ye, No,
- 33:48Speaker 1: just a bible here. I did not know you went
- 33:49Speaker 1: to college. I didn't know. I'm sorry. I was in Bronxtail.
- 33:55Speaker 1: I went.
- 33:56Speaker 2: I went to Life eighty to ninety. I went to
- 33:59Speaker 2: UNLV and then ninety Then I.
- 34:01Speaker 1: What was your major? Poker in your mind?
- 34:03Speaker 2: About communications here?
- 34:05Speaker 1: Oh? Uh?
- 34:06Speaker 3: And then I transferred to cal State Northridge and was
- 34:10Speaker 3: a film direction film directing major. Dropped out with a
- 34:13Speaker 3: semester to go to start doing stand up?
- 34:16Speaker 1: Wow? How did that work out with me?
- 34:20Speaker 2: With you?
- 34:20Speaker 1: No, it's good. I did not know you went to college,
- 34:23Speaker 1: didn't Yeah.
- 34:24Speaker 2: I was enrolled. I don't know if I could say
- 34:25Speaker 2: I went bill I was enrolled.
- 34:27Speaker 1: Yeah. I wish I had I wish had enough money
- 34:30Speaker 1: sent me.
- 34:30Speaker 2: To I went to class.
- 34:31Speaker 1: Thank god I didn't, though, thank god, Yeah, thank god,
- 34:34Speaker 1: I'm so happy. I always say street smart's common sense.
- 34:37Speaker 3: I think now, unless you're gonna be a lawyer, doctor, yeah,
- 34:40Speaker 3: you know, engineer something to skip college, keep the money.
- 34:43Speaker 1: So you were here. I was here when they went
- 34:47Speaker 1: stopped the show. Almost felt the nineteen ninety wow rebels. Yeah, watching,
- 34:53Speaker 1: but there was shills. Yeah back then at the table
- 34:56Speaker 1: by the way that the bike used to have them. Yeah, yeah,
- 34:58Speaker 1: I know they did in l A. Yeah, you gotta
- 35:01Speaker 1: you know. I think they still do. I believe there's
- 35:04Speaker 1: still prop players in California. I'm almost positive. Explain what
- 35:08Speaker 1: it is you would know at the table. When I
- 35:11Speaker 1: went to Commerce and Commerce, it might have been a bike.
- 35:15Speaker 1: You were told who the prop player was at the
- 35:17Speaker 1: table that will play. So you're playing with their money.
- 35:20Speaker 1: They're getting the money back the end of the day. You
- 35:21Speaker 1: get fifteen bucks an hour, twelve bucks an hour. I
- 35:23Speaker 1: can't believe you didn't do this. I really can't believe.
- 35:26Speaker 2: I almost did.
- 35:27Speaker 1: I can't believe you didn't do that.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Almost did. I wasn't in the poker like that yet.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Oh the only problem. The only problem with that was
- 35:36Speaker 1: I know you'd be palm on ships just going to
- 35:39Speaker 1: your phone and the next thing you know, ships will
- 35:41Speaker 1: be missing. So anyway, yeah, so but yeah, the shills
- 35:46Speaker 1: are gone really in the poker rooms. But this is
- 35:49Speaker 1: this is going, This is talking about how Las Vegas
- 35:53Speaker 1: had casino shills. This is unbelievable. Before loyalty programs, digital analytics,
- 35:58Speaker 1: marketing departments, different kind of engine kept the casino games
- 36:02Speaker 1: moving in Las Vegas, shills aka the game starters, plants, decoys,
- 36:07Speaker 1: whatever you want to call them. You're playing craps, right
- 36:11Speaker 1: ta players whose job was to make a cold table
- 36:15Speaker 1: look hot. That's what their job was. And you said it.
- 36:18Speaker 1: You said it because casinos need bodies and seats, especially
- 36:21Speaker 1: during slow early morning hours, so a shills supplied the
- 36:24Speaker 1: illusion of action, so and you said it. Like in dice,
- 36:28Speaker 1: they were only allowed to play the pass line. So
- 36:31Speaker 1: they are allowed to play the pass line with odds because
- 36:33Speaker 1: they didn't want to have the math of hard ways
- 36:35Speaker 1: and stuff like that. But blackjack on craps, shills were
- 36:38Speaker 1: bound by strict protocols though, And I just I can't
- 36:42Speaker 1: believe there was shills the tables back then, and they
- 36:47Speaker 1: were paid to celebrate small wins. Clint Coin trays. Wow,
- 36:51Speaker 1: this is way before me. This is the desert end,
- 36:54Speaker 1: the Pioneer like this is all different properties in the
- 36:56Speaker 1: sixties in seventies. Yeah, wow, the pie is at the
- 37:00Speaker 1: moment the guy you know with the with the vegas
- 37:02Speaker 1: vic I think it is.
- 37:03Speaker 2: I think I remember the pin which is still down there.
- 37:07Speaker 1: It's still it's still down here. So we used to
- 37:09Speaker 1: do That's funny. Look at this. Look at this. People
- 37:13Speaker 1: were required to clear hands gesture to the pit boss
- 37:15Speaker 1: to prove no tips for being pomped. I didn't even
- 37:18Speaker 1: see that, but they know about guys like you. So
- 37:21Speaker 1: pay was modest, but minimum wage plus tips. I wonder
- 37:24Speaker 1: how you get tips former shills or minimum wage plus tips.
- 37:28Speaker 1: I don't know how they get tips, but tip tips
- 37:30Speaker 1: came from players traded oh, who treated shills as friendly
- 37:34Speaker 1: table companions. It's a lonely hearts club.
- 37:37Speaker 2: You know that happens at the crap table still.
- 37:39Speaker 3: You know you roll a hard eight for someone and
- 37:40Speaker 3: you hit the guy's hard eight, he throws elvison.
- 37:42Speaker 1: Ah. You know your guys, do you want to know?
- 37:45Speaker 1: You want to embarrass yourself? Every weekend they go around
- 37:48Speaker 1: to the Highland of Places and look for they want
- 37:50Speaker 1: to get on for a roll when they see someone
- 37:51Speaker 1: in the rail with a lot of money. I know
- 37:53Speaker 1: you do, I know you've done in the past. I
- 37:54Speaker 1: know what. Anyway, Yeah, yeah, that's all right, it's no
- 37:57Speaker 1: big deal. But I thought that was that was that
- 37:59Speaker 1: was pretty cool.
- 38:00Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, we used to do this when we
- 38:02Speaker 3: threw parties really in lay in a different way. We
- 38:06Speaker 3: would have I swear we invented atmosphere models. Now they're
- 38:10Speaker 3: called atmosphere models, but we would have girls coming. We
- 38:13Speaker 3: would pay a couple of girls, Hey, come and dance
- 38:15Speaker 3: on the dance on the on the bar top right
- 38:18Speaker 3: in the middle of the party, and maybe sometimes you know,
- 38:21Speaker 3: take your top off whatever and and just go crazy.
- 38:24Speaker 1: No no, true, sorry, where's is that time out? Where's
- 38:26Speaker 1: this that?
- 38:27Speaker 2: All over?
- 38:27Speaker 1: La parties?
- 38:28Speaker 2: No? No, no, no, of course not no, no no.
- 38:30Speaker 2: We'd throw like you know, when I'm on.
- 38:31Speaker 3: The PR firm, we'd throw parties in different restaurants, bars, nightclubs, whatever.
- 38:37Speaker 3: And you wanted people to be talking about your event,
- 38:39Speaker 3: about your party whatever. Oh, these two girls came and
- 38:43Speaker 3: they were dancing on together on the bar top whatever,
- 38:46Speaker 3: and it looks like, oh, they were just two girls
- 38:49Speaker 3: that were just having a crazy good time.
- 38:51Speaker 2: We paid them. Wow. And then the people talk about, hey,
- 38:54Speaker 2: I heard your party was wild.
- 38:56Speaker 1: You guys thought I was joking around up breaking his
- 38:58Speaker 1: balls about these antique Blouds. Still in touch with them,
- 39:01Speaker 1: same girls from the nineties. He's still this, this is,
- 39:03Speaker 1: this is exactly you thought I was joking. Right, I'm
- 39:05Speaker 1: glad you're I love that. You admit it. Good boy,
- 39:09Speaker 1: good boy, this guy. No, it's great though. It's great
- 39:13Speaker 1: for the show. It's great for the public. I mean,
- 39:15Speaker 1: and you know, it's funny they think sometimes that we're
- 39:18Speaker 1: unscripted on things and stuff. This this is we're going
- 39:22Speaker 1: to say this. We're just talking about that. Like last
- 39:24Speaker 1: week went after you. That was you didn't know if
- 39:26Speaker 1: it was coming after you, about sneaking to the stadium
- 39:29Speaker 1: without me. All right, here we go, Oh my god,
- 39:32Speaker 1: so here we go. Next thing, now, I like what
- 39:37Speaker 1: Connecticut's doing here. Connecticut is their gaming boards pretty strict
- 39:43Speaker 1: here against the casinos and like sports, Yes, that that
- 39:48Speaker 1: would be the only ones there be thieve it's the
- 39:49Speaker 1: only two casinos in the Connecticut. They're a giant, though giant.
- 39:52Speaker 1: You've been to both of them, right, giants, of course
- 39:54Speaker 1: your dad's last show. The sports book is not allowed
- 39:57Speaker 1: to cancel sports betters which roller unless the customer says
- 40:01Speaker 1: their banking information was incorrect or to comply with fraud
- 40:04Speaker 1: protection prevention I should say, and anti money money wandering requirements.
- 40:09Speaker 1: The bill also prevents gaming entities from advertising on published
- 40:13Speaker 1: public college campuses and athletic facilities. So I really like
- 40:18Speaker 1: the marketing band applies to website, social media link to
- 40:21Speaker 1: the school. Gaming is really going after certain they're realizing,
- 40:27Speaker 1: now what's happening. Let's just come, let's just buil this
- 40:30Speaker 1: now to the facts. Because the state senator son was
- 40:33Speaker 1: a degenerate gambler, taking from her credit cards, taking from
- 40:37Speaker 1: so now the senator put this into law. Talking to
- 40:40Speaker 1: the other senator's members of the House, they're realizing now
- 40:43Speaker 1: how bad gambling is to the youth of America. So
- 40:47Speaker 1: now they're going to the colleges and they're they're you know,
- 40:51Speaker 1: the sports books and casinos they're trying to okay, yeah, everyone,
- 40:54Speaker 1: come on and have a fat time. And now some
- 40:57Speaker 1: of the gaming boards are realizing it because they're being
- 41:00Speaker 1: they're putting this pressure being put on from the politicians
- 41:03Speaker 1: So this particular one happened in Connecticut at a college campus.
- 41:09Speaker 1: So I find this really interesting that they're actually putting
- 41:12Speaker 1: this kind of pressure on the casinos and sportsbooks, making
- 41:15Speaker 1: sure they know they cannot be doing this kind of thing.
- 41:19Speaker 1: Is no more same thing with New Jersey. This article
- 41:22Speaker 1: is should sportsbooks be allowed to incentivize betters using responsible
- 41:25Speaker 1: gaming tools? In other words, I don't have the media
- 41:29Speaker 1: ortic I know what it's gonna be. I know what
- 41:30Speaker 1: it's gonna be here. So what will happen John? Is
- 41:34Speaker 1: not so much here? But were these states that allow gambling,
- 41:38Speaker 1: they'll the casino host I know hosts that from this
- 41:41Speaker 1: town that have been lured away to big gaming sites,
- 41:45Speaker 1: and they were given deals where you get customers to
- 41:50Speaker 1: come over, just like you did in the casino business.
- 41:52Speaker 1: Get them to come over here, and that's how you
- 41:53Speaker 1: make bonuses or whatever may be. So now the host
- 41:56Speaker 1: text you, Hey, John, what's going on today? Buddy? Listen?
- 41:59Speaker 1: If you wanted to ten thousand dollars, I'll put an
- 42:01Speaker 1: extra thousand in there for you, just roll over five times. Yeah,
- 42:05Speaker 1: And so they're actually texting you on your phone. By
- 42:09Speaker 1: doing that, it's really like, well, It makes you think
- 42:12Speaker 1: all day you're a hard day, you're at work or whatever,
- 42:14Speaker 1: and it's going on more and more trying to incentivize player.
- 42:18Speaker 1: The emails them. It's so aggressive that to fall along
- 42:23Speaker 1: those lines. I just told you that politician. Yeah, they're
- 42:26Speaker 1: the government is now cracking down and legislation in New
- 42:29Speaker 1: Jersey would restrict certain betters from being incentivized by sportsbooks.
- 42:34Speaker 1: And you know this happens. I've seen it myself. I've
- 42:37Speaker 1: seen it myself. In the beginning when I first had
- 42:40Speaker 1: these sites. They were texting me, and I was texting,
- 42:43Speaker 1: I know how to play the game. I was texting
- 42:44Speaker 1: back to them, Well, if you want to give me
- 42:46Speaker 1: that for ten, what will you give me for fifty?
- 42:47Speaker 1: You know, and I'll roll it over, you know. And
- 42:49Speaker 1: I was playing the game and I got I got
- 42:51Speaker 1: such unbelievable deals that John flew to New Jersey. I
- 42:56Speaker 1: did became you became one of these players. They wanted
- 42:58Speaker 1: to get these kind of deals out. You know, you
- 43:01Speaker 1: can't offer someone John, we were offered a deal. We
- 43:05Speaker 1: got sent fifty to give him fifty thousand dollars. They
- 43:07Speaker 1: give us twenty five thousand dollars extra on our account.
- 43:11Speaker 1: You can't offer I'm gonna win anyway, long time. I'm
- 43:14Speaker 1: gonna win. You can't beat me on twenty five. By
- 43:16Speaker 1: the way, it wasn't free bets. You didn't have to win.
- 43:18Speaker 1: Now they offer you have to win the bet in
- 43:20Speaker 1: order to get the money back. Then it was just
- 43:22Speaker 1: twenty five thousand cash.
- 43:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I believe they were so competed.
- 43:25Speaker 3: And a lot of those sites, remember we watched them
- 43:28Speaker 3: go out of business little by little. Not the two
- 43:30Speaker 3: you're talking about, but remember you I remember there was
- 43:32Speaker 3: twenty two syestracks in twenty twenty one. Yeah, and you
- 43:35Speaker 3: were like, what are all these sites? Who are all
- 43:38Speaker 3: these sites right here?
- 43:38Speaker 1: I wes never heard of. I don't mean it's for
- 43:40Speaker 1: a month on a bus, but right here at the
- 43:42Speaker 1: West Gate. I was a west Kate player here for years.
- 43:45Speaker 1: Of course, they ventured out into the different states, one
- 43:48Speaker 1: of which was New Jersey, and when they went to
- 43:50Speaker 1: New Jersey, they had a deal put ten thousand dollars
- 43:53Speaker 1: you get eleven. I was like, wait a minute, I'm
- 43:56Speaker 1: already a customer, though. They said yeah. I even made
- 43:58Speaker 1: sure if it was for existing customers, and they gave
- 44:00Speaker 1: me an extra thousand, like four of us did it.
- 44:03Speaker 1: We got four thousand bucks extra to play West Skate
- 44:05Speaker 1: like you had to roll over once. I mean, but
- 44:07Speaker 1: they all did it though I'm not just picking on West.
- 44:09Speaker 1: Everyone did it. Everyone the win. There was so many
- 44:12Speaker 1: great deals. There was twenty two or twenty three sites
- 44:14Speaker 1: at the beginning. Half of them are gone gone, half
- 44:17Speaker 1: of them more than half gone.
- 44:19Speaker 2: So we're gonna shows you how competitive, right.
- 44:23Speaker 1: It really does? It really does. So I like seeing
- 44:25Speaker 1: this the define print here too. There. This is the
- 44:29Speaker 1: promotional credit issue by Sportswork, designed to keep betters engaged
- 44:32Speaker 1: with the online platform. Promotional bets are often winnings only wagers,
- 44:37Speaker 1: being the better doesn't get the original bet back, but
- 44:39Speaker 1: only the net win, which I just said, yeah, that's
- 44:41Speaker 1: the netwin. So but it doesn't look like that in
- 44:43Speaker 1: the text form when you're getting it. Hey, I'm gonna
- 44:46Speaker 1: give you thirty percent bonus, that's all I say. They
- 44:48Speaker 1: don't tell you it's thirty percent in promotional bets, which
- 44:51Speaker 1: is only worth fifteen percent, even less than that because
- 44:53Speaker 1: there's a house edge, so it's only worth fourteen and
- 44:55Speaker 1: a half percent. So now they're trying to be a
- 44:58Speaker 1: little more transparent here. I like that. I see these
- 45:00Speaker 1: different these these different kind of things like that. Evil.
- 45:05Speaker 1: Do you know about this? He's getting a downtown Uh
- 45:08Speaker 1: did you see this downtown experience? Look? How cool this
- 45:11Speaker 1: is going to be. I mean, I'm a I was
- 45:13Speaker 1: a kid. I loved Evil. Evil Medieval Museum. Isn't that
- 45:16Speaker 1: cool down in the Art Arts District. When I was
- 45:18Speaker 1: a kid, all kids remember jumping the I think even
- 45:21Speaker 1: if he watched jumpe Evil and jump Evil did it?
- 45:25Speaker 2: First?
- 45:25Speaker 1: You hat the bike landing on him, but that's the
- 45:30Speaker 1: Caesars Palace, the founder of the Caesars Palace. But when
- 45:33Speaker 1: you were a kid, those there were Channel seven in
- 45:36Speaker 1: New York with that a b C A b C
- 45:37Speaker 1: wide World of Sports. Of course they used to be
- 45:39Speaker 1: on there with the agony, had the feet and all these,
- 45:41Speaker 1: but there was there was he was he had his
- 45:44Speaker 1: specials on ABC and jumping. Then he jumped the sky
- 45:48Speaker 1: Canyon and they jumped.
- 45:49Speaker 2: He did some crazy crazy canyon, Snake Canyon.
- 45:52Speaker 1: That's it. That's yeah, there was a sky cycle.
- 45:55Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 45:55Speaker 1: It was cool. But so now when he crashed at
- 45:59Speaker 1: Sea Palace and that bike came down an unbelievable bike
- 46:03Speaker 1: spinning around. He's spinning around the pavement jump and the
- 46:06Speaker 1: bike landing on top of him.
- 46:07Speaker 2: Yeah, that's impossible.
- 46:08Speaker 1: The bike was all over the place and just landed
- 46:10Speaker 1: on top of him. So I thought he I know,
- 46:13Speaker 1: I remember hearing he was in like in a coma.
- 46:15Speaker 1: But in this article it says evil canievl Caesar's crash
- 46:20Speaker 1: crash supposedly left him in a coma for twenty nine days.
- 46:23Speaker 1: That was a myth. That was a myth created by
- 46:25Speaker 1: the casino owner, Jay Sarno. Knievel never lost consciousness following
- 46:29Speaker 1: that spill that made him famous. He was never in
- 46:31Speaker 1: any real dangers. Wasn't even admitted to ICU. I didn't
- 46:34Speaker 1: know that. I thought it was I thought he was
- 46:36Speaker 1: dead when it happened.
- 46:37Speaker 2: I mean, but yeah, just yeah, yeah.
- 46:41Speaker 1: But this is really cool. The museum.
- 46:43Speaker 2: I don't know if that's open now or no, it's
- 46:44Speaker 2: gonna it's.
- 46:45Speaker 1: Going in June twenty seventh. It' set to open June
- 46:47Speaker 1: twenty seventh, Arts District down. But is it that many
- 46:51Speaker 1: people now fifty years later?
- 46:53Speaker 3: Yeah, but I will tell ahs Evil Knievel anything.
- 46:57Speaker 2: Do you know the name Evil?
- 46:58Speaker 1: Do you know what He's like, good, good, all right,
- 47:01Speaker 1: Well maybe I'm wrong. I could be wrong. But so
- 47:05Speaker 1: now another guy is going to attempt evils Caesar's.
- 47:09Speaker 2: Palace, Fountains, Omnia day Club.
