Transcript
- 0:01[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the Mile High Huddle Podcast with your football priests, Chad Jensen and Zach Kilmer.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: Remember, Broncos Country is not a geographic location.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's a state of being.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome in everybody.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: If the Mile High Huddle podcast on the post, Chad Jensen with me on this short week of preparation, I had a Sunday's game.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_00]: This is my fellow football priest, my partner in crime, you know me 11.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_00]: Zach Kelberman, Zach, is it much should do about nothing with Quinn minors?
- 0:34[SPEAKER_00]: What's going on with him, missing practice, and form the folks?
- 0:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it sounds like it's on an overly big deal.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_01]: Quinn minors has an illness according to Sean Payton, Payton would in divulged much information, classic Payton, but he did say that he'll be fine.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: So I would be surprised, Chad, if minors misses Sunday's game.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_01]: He just is battling a slight bug right now, it sounds like.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Payton with his typical, just don't even bother.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, is he in danger of missing Sunday's game?
- 1:05[SPEAKER_00]: Nope, nope, he'll be fine.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_00]: Next question, right?
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: And then later on, he was especially kind of salty today.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: Like he took one question, Zach had nothing to do with Quinn minors, but it was on the subject of basically
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: was that Evan Ingraham, a pass catcher, either way.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, I respect the question, but it's a silly question.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, uh, out.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: I would have hated to have been that person in the room at that very moment in time, but now Quinn miners is going to be fine.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: I'm arguably more concerning here is just simply that Marvin Mims and that's not even not that concerning, but more concerning is that Marvin Mims was limited still and Jonah Ellis as well, but I think both
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: should be good to go by Sunday.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: You never know for sure, but the only thing that gives me a little bit of pause with MIMS anyway is that he went from having a hip injury to now having what's the new one?
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: There's a second injury that he suffered last week, which was ankle.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_01]: While we're on the subject of the injury report, can we talk about how unlucky Nate Adkins is, Chad, finally comes back than he's in concussion protocol, but he did practice today, so it looks like he'll be out of that protocol very shortly.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no kid, no kid, but he did, look, it's no coincidence that the two games he's been back were the two best rushing games for the Broncos up to this point.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, last week against the Bengals, which was technically this week in real terms, but nevertheless, I digress and I just rind.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's been an improvement, the run blocking since he's returned, so we want him out on the grass
- 2:48[SPEAKER_00]: keep up with the Eagles.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to have to run the ball on the road.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, you're going to hear a lot of 63 is reporting eligible for Palcho.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to have to establish the run and own the trenches.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_01]: It's not going to be easy chat against that Philadelphia Eagles front.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_01]: We'll get into that more later with the head to head.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_00]: Some shouts, we got Sam Bam jumping in early with a super channel.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you, big dog.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: Hope you're doing well.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_00]: He says, even in guys, the Broncos really have a chance to make a statement and show that they're a legit threat in the AFC.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: If they pull out a win in Philly, it's going to be tough, but they can do it, go Broncos.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: I agree that they can do it.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: Will they do it?
- 3:29[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the Eagles are, what was it?
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: at home in their past 17 games or it's 15 home games.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: It's either 16 or one or 15 or one.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_00]: Like they're tough to beat at home, but the Broncos had a nice little, like Boneyx said, I really disresinated with me after the game.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: He was like, you know, any win is momentum, because people are minimizing all you just beat up on the burrowless bangles and whatnot.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: And Bo's like, look, man, in this league, any win is momentum and momentum can carry a place.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: And so we'll see.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: I think that that was a well-timed Zach victory in the nature and the complexion of that victory really good for their confidence and I'm hoping it helps carry him into this filling game.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely, you're right Sam.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_01]: The Eagles are not infallible.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_01]: They might be the best team in the NFL.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: They're the rating champs and they're very, very formidable foe.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_01]: But they can be beaten.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_01]: And the Broncos have the formula, which is what we saw on Monday night, granted it was against Cincinnati.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_01]: The Eagles are not Cincinnati, but run the ball.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_01]: Bow Nick sprinkles that over the top with the passing game and play stifling defense.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_01]: You do that minus the penalties.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to be in this game to the variant.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_00]: Sam dude, thank you again for the support big dog and for also being a member you are Apprentice we also have MBLX our friend drop in a membership gifting one to somebody in the chat really kind of you do Thank you for being a member yourself and for the support my brother means a lot to us We got Zeus in the house.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_00]: What's up Zeus McPeak?
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: Great to see you tonight big dog.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: Hope you are doing well
- 5:07[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, from, I guess, uh, Zeus is actual super chat.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_00]: He says, Hi, all, how are we feeling about the Eagle game?
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: It seems as most have written the Broncos off.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_00]: My concern is Wattenberg.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: He will need to play much better.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of curious.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: We'll, we'll talk about Broncos Eagles.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, and answer this stew, but, um, today, Sean Payton kind of,
- 5:31[SPEAKER_00]: minimize the Wattenberg thing when he was asked about he said quote because he had all the penalties right against the bangles and stuck out like a sore thumb said quote i'm going to come to his defense this was today because there were a handful he drops off we never sent it into the league but there were a few of them that if you guys watch the tape meaning that they weren't violations.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: But he's been playing well.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: There are a couple.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: We can clean up ourselves being downfilled on a screen or whatnot, but he's playing well close quote and Zach Thomas Hall texted me today and he goes, Hey, how about an article on why the Broncos should make a trade for Saints Center Eric McCoyos like yes, please.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_00]: Let's get that article out.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_00]: Let's try and speak that into existence, but that's back to the game, those that how are you feeling about Broncos Eagles for Zeus.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_01]: Well, Stu, yeah, I'm totally in lockstep with you there.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_01]: That's basically my only concern.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_01]: We saw a lot of positive notes coming out of Monday's game, Bo, Nick's look good, the running game looked amazing, and the rest of the O line held up.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_01]: Miners is the 10th ranked guard in the NFL according to Pro Football focus.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's only Wattenberg that is the weakling there.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: And that Eagles front for whatever they have, whatever they run there is imposing.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: So they're gonna have to scheme around him and hopefully they can hide his deficiencies
- 6:54[SPEAKER_01]: many.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: No doubt about it, but I feel, man, on one hand, there's that part of me that goes to the, I like have flashbacks to the bill's game, flashbacks to the Ravens, but I don't think that's going to be this.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Broncos, I feel oddly optimistic, oddly confident.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_00]: Now, it doesn't mean anything, guys.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't mean that the Broncos,
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: are going to win, but I'm not utterly terrified of this game for some reasons that I'm not either.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, many people think this is going to be a blowout of the Broncos are going to lose handling.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think so.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_01]: Win or lose.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_01]: This is going to be a hard fought, maybe defensive struggle that's going to come down to the fourth quarter and it can go, I think either way.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: Zeus, again, brother, thank you so much.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: So great to see the first face etched on the MHH Superstar Mount Rushmore in the house.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_00]: uh... wrong dude thanks for being here big dog appreciate you we also have the Duchess thank you up there on the first one or two faces etched on the Mount Rushmore thank you so much baccala much love and respect to you my friends she says am i crazy for thinking that we have a good shot to beat the eagles everyone thinks they will uh...
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: What, dominate us, dominate us, thank you.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: They might win, but it'll be a close game.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_00]: Dominate us, I don't think, I think not.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_00]: I hope I didn't just jinx it, right?
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it's gonna be that kind of a game.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: Again, I have the paranoid, you know, I think it comes from some kind of place of trauma that Baltimore game, but it's more specifically, honestly, the bills game, because it was in the playoffs.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: But,
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think that this team is look very easily.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: This could be a battle of two four no teams.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: I know if some books, candy nuts and all that.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: They're not undefeated the Broncos.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: They lost for very self-deprecating reasons.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: Like they did it to themselves.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: They did lose those games.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_00]: That's etched in history.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: You can't go back.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: But
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: Ball bounces even one way slightly off different degree.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_00]: Broncos could very easily Zack be foreign all right now or at the very least three in one with that leverage call.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_00]: And so how would you be feeling, how what would the complexion of the conversation be looking like in terms of Broncos Eagles, that if it were meeting up two four-note teams and the Broncos are a lot better than they're two and two record at this stage.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_00]: And this is a great opportunity for them,
- 9:31[SPEAKER_00]: the level, the caliber of team that they actually are.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the Broncos are the only team in the NFL that has not trailed for even a second in the fourth quarter, and yet they're two and two.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's crazy.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_01]: So you're right, Chad.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_01]: They should definitely be four and oh, if they were in the Eagles are, I don't know that it would change too much.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_01]: Just the records because it's the match ups.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_01]: It's the Eagles front seven versus the Broncos, O'Line and Wattenberg, for example.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_01]: But going back to what I said a minute ago, Michaela, and thank you so much.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: I don't expect to blow out.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_01]: I don't expect any the Eagles to dominate the Broncos.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be a very close game.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe into the fourth quarter, and maybe, and up until the last second, maybe the Broncos get their revenge and win on the last second field goal.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_01]: But anyone on the Eagles taking this game lightly, I think they're going to be in for a tough afternoon on Sunday.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_00]: And we'll look at these two teams head to head here on the back half of the show.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: So stick with us and we'll be doing that here.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: So love you, Michaela.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks again.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_00]: We also have be rad checking in a dear member and a superstar bona fide saying, a win is a win.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_00]: Beautiful ugly 1.50 points doesn't matter momentum carries and is better than no momentum from the loss or from a loss say to sense He's Denver by three 12 and five is still possible Hashtag y'all the real MVP's hashtag images.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you Brad.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_00]: It's seriously buddy But yeah momentum is a magical thing.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_00]: It's a magical thing and it can It can create
- 11:03[SPEAKER_00]: outcomes that you didn't perhaps expect or foresee and obviously the NFL doesn't expect or foresee for the most part, the Broncos winning this game.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_00]: But this time, like I don't see this as an outmatched situation, like yes, they're the champs for a reason, the Philadelphia Eagles, I mean, they're doing it on all three phases of the game.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: The Eagles are doing their thing.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, how many kicks and punts are they blocked up at this point already?
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: They're just very, very, very good at what they do, but the Broncos, this isn't a situation like, if you would have seen say the 2023 squad going up against this team, you go, man, we are outmatched maybe we could would say that are.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_00]: coaching is on a level or whatever, but like talent wise, it's not even close.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_00]: You can't say that anymore.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_00]: This Bronco roster, Zach, it's talented, it's deep.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think things are coming together relative to the coaching and the scheme and getting the players in position to excel and do the things that they do best.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm optimistic in this game.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_01]: Brad, thank you.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think expectations for every gamer arbitrary.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_01]: There's a sliding scale in my opinion.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_01]: So Cincinnati, for example, inferior opponent, the Broncos, we should have expected a blowout, not a one point win, although you're right, a win as a win as a win, but the Eagles are not the Bengals.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_01]: So one point would work just fine here.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_01]: We want the Broncos to at least be competitive.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_01]: I know it sounds like a loser mentality, but this team still has a lot to prove they struggle on offense against the Titans, for example, the defense collapse against the chargers.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_01]: We saw what happened against the cults.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_01]: They're still a work in progress, they're far from a finished product, and I want to see that all coal less on Sunday, and even if it comes out in the lost chat, I want to see them fight and I keep it competitive down in the last second.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_00]: No doubt about it.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_00]: Phil, what's going on, big dog, great to have you on Facebook tonight.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for the support and for contributing to the conversation.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_00]: He says good evening, Chad and Chad Zach and Dickens Scott.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_00]: Any news on minors, we may have to get this run game going.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_00]: Hashtag Buckeham, Mitchets for Life Promise for Life.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_00]: So Peyton says he'll be fine.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_00]: Some bug, you know, they'll be pumping them full fluids and doing and trying to get him through the symptomatic aspect of whatever ailment bug, whatever it may be illness as quickly as possible.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_00]: But of course, Sean Peyton's never
- 13:32[SPEAKER_00]: But he did say, I guess, in this instance, that he's going to be okay.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_00]: So, I mean, not that any of us were worried that his life was in danger.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_00]: So, it's not like he's saying he's going to live.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_00]: But within the context of the question, meaning, is he going to be available for Sunday?
- 13:46[SPEAKER_00]: Payton said he's going to be okay.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_00]: So, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, players pick up blues and colds and this and that just like anybody else during the season they play 99% at the time.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_01]: This isn't Rona or anything like that.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_01]: That was the only year where that was where illness, if a player had an illness, that would be a serious problem.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_01]: I would be shocked if he's not playing Sunday.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_00]: I would as well and also good news on the run the ball front fill is that Nate Adkins at least was a limited participant in today's practice as he's been in concussion protocol.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_00]: So that's encouraging relative to run in the ball because since he's been back, the Broncos have been much better at doing that.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_00]: So we shall see, but thank you, Phil, great to have you big dog.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_00]: Cody Dubb, what's going on, dude?
- 14:35[SPEAKER_00]: One of another deer members and superstarshan.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_00]: Watch for DJ in this game.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_00]: Eagle Center is beat up.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_00]: So he's saying DJ Jones could have himself a game.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_00]: Would love to see it, man.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_00]: DJ Jones has been pretty good so far this year, but there's a chance, Zach.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how late into this to the week.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_00]: We could really go before it happens,
- 15:00[SPEAKER_00]: They could Broncos, they could call Malcolm Roach and Drew Sanders up off of injured reserve, if they want to, and if they're ready.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_00]: I think Roach is pretty safe to assume he's probably good to go, and so it would be a shocking stunning thing if he is an activated on Saturday.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, the problem with that Zack is, if you bring one of them back or two of them back, you have a corresponding number of players you have to cut from the 53.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_00]: you know that last two or three guys on the roster as always aren't sleeping too hot right about now.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah DJ was pretty active last game.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_01]: He's playing a little better against the past than I thought he would.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_01]: But if they don't have, um, you just mentioned, um, Malcolm wrote, sorry, if he doesn't come back on fire by Sunday, we see more of Savi on Jones who looked pretty active in his debut.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_01]: So they'll be good Cody.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_01]: It's a good shout though,
- 15:59[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you know what, Scott's bringing up a good point.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_00]: Did they open up the practice window for either Roach or Sanders?
- 16:06[SPEAKER_00]: And up to this point, I don't think so, right?
- 16:09[SPEAKER_00]: I don't recall press release getting a press release.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_00]: Remember that?
- 16:12[SPEAKER_00]: So it could be that
- 16:17[SPEAKER_00]: they could wait to do that.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_00]: They could do that on any day and still activate them day of.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_00]: And Scott says a hard to think they would play this week if they haven't practiced.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_00]: And especially I guess that because two going against him coming back this week is the short week thing where
- 16:36[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Wednesday, they were basically kind of didn't even practice yesterday.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_00]: Today was their actual first practice of the week five, you know, proceeding.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_00]: So thank you for that balance context there, Mr. Producer and reminder.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_00]: Chris Chances jumping in.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_00]: What's up, big dog.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_00]: Great to see you.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_00]: A bona fide superstar saying, Zach, I wanted your thoughts on Broncos Eagles.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think the defense will be better?
- 17:00[SPEAKER_00]: or our offense, hashtag bow Vader, heck yeah, bro, Zach for Chris.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_01]: I wish I could say the offense here, but you're going up against Vic Fangeo, you know, Broncos legendary coach, and it very, very stout Eagles defense.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_01]: They have Quinion, Mitchell, a cornerback.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_01]: They have Cooper Dejaugh, and they have talent throughout that front seven, Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_01]: They're a really tough defense.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_01]: I expect the Broncos defense to be better in this game, Chris.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_01]: I said it earlier, I'll say it again.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_01]: This is going to be in my estimation, a hard fought, slug fest on both sides of the ball.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think either team scores more than 20 points in this game.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_00]: It was bringing up fangeos that it was kind of interesting what he said about Bonyx this week and I know that Luke and Tom covered this last night, but I'll paraphrase or I'll quote him, sorry, this is this is Vic fangeo at the podium as Eagles defense coordinator being asked about Bonyx quote he's a lot like Baker Mayfield.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_00]: I think he might be Baker's younger brother.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_00]: Really good.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_00]: Really, really good.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he's a scrambler.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_00]: He's a competitor.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_00]: He'll throw the ball in tight places.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_00]: He runs their offense really well.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think Sean Peyton has done a good a great job bringing him along and they got their quarterback for the future.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_00]: They looked.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_00]: He could have even included himself.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_00]: There's actually say we look.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_00]: They looked long and hard for many years and they've
- 18:31[SPEAKER_01]: It's true.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's true is birthday, too.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's true is birthday.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_01]: I can't get over that quote.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_01]: That is what we live in infamy chat, but he knows what the Broncos have.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_01]: And I've noticed as well, I'll co-sign what fans you're saying there.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot more gunslinger in Bo Nixon's game than I previously thought.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no doubt the one thing that makes me nervous about is it going to be the offense is it going to be the defense as far as the offense is it's not just that it's fan geo because if you can block the four guys you know he's not going to blitz, but maybe once or twice or maybe three times in a game so if you can block the four rushers man.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to keep the rush off of you, but it's the variations of zone and the match quarters.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_00]: And it's really going to force, Vic Fangio is going to force bone nicks to read the field.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_00]: And I think even though hopefully you're not going to see as much pressure, and that sounds crazy because this is Philadelphia, Philadelphia Eagles Act who in the Super Bowl did it, what they did to Patrick Mahomes.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_00]: This is a very good Broncos offensive line still with Wattenberg's kind of on the Schneider a little bit, but I think in order for this offense to succeed and really keep that past defense on its heels is got to run the ball and bone mix is going to have to kind of make some things up a little bit and when he does he's got to be they got to be good decisions and he's got to be on the money.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_01]: The Eagles have an inside lineback or Zach Bon who I think both of us, Chad, one of the Brocos to throw money out this off season.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_01]: If he was available, tremendous coverage player, Nicoby Dean might be coming back for the Eagles as well.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_01]: Another rangey linebacker.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to be spying Bonax on the pocket.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_01]: So the Brocos, again, with Wattenberg, they're going to have to mitigate his weaknesses and, like you said, establish the run and let Bonax play off that.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_00]: Papa Bear, great to see you, how are you?
- 20:29[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for the support on Super Chat.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for being a member.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_00]: He says, good evening, Broncos, country, hashtag, God bless the USA, hashtag 11 and 6 plus plus.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you, thank you, David.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_00]: Hope you're doing well, my brother.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_00]: Are we seeing you in a couple of weeks time?
- 20:45[SPEAKER_00]: Are we gonna be seeing you?
- 20:46[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure if we've got absolute confirmation on that.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_00]: Let us know in the chat.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_00]: Be rat again, I know, dude.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_00]: I was thinking the same thing, fluid game.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_00]: for Quinn Miners, maybe his best performance of the year, wishful thinking, hello.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I have some a good story about the actual Jordan Flu game, the famous flu game.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm not going to get into it right now because I just thought of it as I was saying, and I don't know that my brother would want me to talk about how public he wants it to be.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_00]: But then again, there are articles written about it.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_00]: My brother was the ballboy for,
- 21:24[SPEAKER_00]: the visiting bowls when they would go to Utah.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_00]: And so he had some up close and personal views at that whole thing that happened and the shoes and all that stuff.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, be red.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_00]: Who knows, maybe though, maybe there's something to it.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe there is something's active rising above the flu, you know, pushing even harder because you got the flu or whatever.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_00]: Quentin, bro, thanks for being here.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_00]: Appreciate the support.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for being a member.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_00]: We see you in all the members only streams.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_00]: And it's awesome here in front of you, dude.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_00]: He says, we have to avoid getting too many penalties.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I couldn't.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you were there or not, but on Kelberman's corner on Tuesday, I gave three keys to victory for an upset in week five.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_01]: One of those keys was mitigating the penalties.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_01]: They cannot be averaging seven or eight, whatever they are now per game, not anywhere close to it.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, we wouldn't want to see any preferably on Sunday because that's how you take down the best team in the NFL.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_01]: That's what you do when you're a true contender in the AFC.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_01]: You can't shut yourselves in the foot like the Broncos have been doing.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_01]: So you are.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_01]: spot on there.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_01]: If they want to spring this upset, you can not have so much yellow on the field.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yep, the self-inflicted wounds, the self-inflicted wounds.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_00]: Andrew Baker, what's up, dude?
- 22:41[SPEAKER_00]: A long time OG.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_00]: member of the community and fan the listener of the show.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_00]: Great to see you.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_00]: We had the chance to to meet Andrew once upon a time at one of the meeting greets.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_00]: That was great.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_00]: He says, what's up, fam?
- 22:55[SPEAKER_00]: Danlee, a win this week would put expectations right back to the preseason hype.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_00]: If not, I hope we're at least competitive on all sides of the ball and showing growth.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_00]: Hashtag, MHH for the life.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_00]: Well, even if they lose this game, and they were to fall back, Zach, at two and three, it's not going to be the end of things, definitely be a setback, you don't want to see it, but still a lot of season left to go, especially the way the AFC West has kind of shaped up so far.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the Broncos have to at some point establish themselves.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_01]: It's nice to get the blowout victory on prime time, but at some point, you got to beat up on a true contender, or at least, sweet guy to show that you can hang with the best of the best, because the bangles are not that, the titans weren't that.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_01]: The cults and charges were a little closer, but even they aren't in the same tier as the Eagles.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_01]: So this is the biggest so far, and maybe all season, Andrew, the biggest barometer for the Broncos.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see how they respond on Sunday.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, Quentin, I was also bummed.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_00]: G-Hod was one of my guys that I kind of wanted possibly in the first round, but definitely if he was there in the second, which obviously, we all know how that shook out.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_00]: But, yeah, G-Hod Campbell is a thing.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_00]: Phil says simply run the ball for 120 pass for 310, no penalties, and three sacks.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_00]: That's all it takes.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's all it takes, but easier said than done, right?
- 24:25[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_00]: Again, hang tight.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to be going through the head to head here and just a little bit.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_00]: But Zach, I thought this was interesting.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_00]: From the rock here, Gary Bowles is up for the newly-christined protector of the
- 24:44[SPEAKER_00]: as a front runner for defensive player the year.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_00]: He's a front runner.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_00]: He's up there with three other guys really right now and bulls those Zack bulls right now if they were handing out the award he probably gets it.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_00]: It's either him or Joe Alt and it probably goes to him.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_00]: So how wild would that be?
- 25:03[SPEAKER_00]: Think about this.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_00]: I mean we're coming off a year where
- 25:05[SPEAKER_00]: for the first time in half century, a Bronco one defense player of the year, how wild would it be for bulls in the first year of the awards existence to win it?
- 25:15[SPEAKER_00]: Fingers crossed.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_01]: This is like a bad signal for B and S. I know he's out there somewhere listening and I'll give him credit because bowls is playing at an all pro level so far this season Not to take anything away from him because there's nothing is to take away from him.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_01]: He is one of the best pass protectors and blindside protectors in the league.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_01]: So if he ends up winning at this point, he's a deserving and if you ask PS2, he thinks Benito is the front runner for D point.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_01]: That would be wild as well, having back to back defensive players of the year.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_00]: No doubt about it.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_00]: Rodney Garcia, which also means it's very unlikely to happen, not even if Benito is the most deserving.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_00]: You know, voters will be able to have a Bronco one at last here.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_00]: Well, so what?
- 25:57[SPEAKER_00]: If he's the best guy, give him to him.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_00]: Rodney, who is a diligent, consistent,
- 26:04[SPEAKER_00]: Viewer and listener and comment are on YouTube.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_00]: We appreciate you being a part of this community buddy.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_00]: He says, what's up, my guys?
- 26:11[SPEAKER_00]: Last time seeing you guys because I'm deploying Go Bronco.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_00]: So.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_00]: First of all, thank you for your service.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for your service and prayers up for you big dog and hopefully you'll get some windows where you can pop in on things and whatnot, but our thoughts and prayers are with you big dog and thank you for sacrificing to protect this this country.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, stay safe for on a god bless you for serving our country.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_01]: And when you can listen to us, let us know we'll be here.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_00]: Adventure soldier in the house.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_00]: He's a member.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_00]: He's a superstar.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_00]: He's a Renaissance man.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_00]: He's a man of many talents.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_00]: And here he is, throwing down to say, this might not sound like Broncos country speak, but I'm okay with losing.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_00]: So long as they do the that hard fuck game.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_00]: Go Broncos.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like in other words, he's not saying I want the Broncos to lose Zach.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_00]: He's saying that I could live with a loss if they go down swinging in.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_00]: It's one of these hard-fought games and, you know, they're in it till the end or they have a chance at the end, et cetera.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's so funny because if they would've just squeaked by Cincinnati, by like a pointer two, I would've left a bad taste in my mouth.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not usually one for moral victories or loser mentalities, but if they go lose by a pointer two to Philadelphia, it's not the end of the world to me.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_01]: That's the best team in the NFL.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_01]: You're playing on the road at the one PM Eastern time slot.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_01]: Historically, none of those things are good for the Broncos.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_01]: If they can just hang here, that would prove a lot to me going forward.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_01]: It's still a big barometer test, but there's different ways to pass it in my opinion.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_00]: Um, real quick, look at all this support and thanks, Rodney's getting in the chat.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_00]: It's really cool to do everybody's giving you props, especially the members, really cool.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, be rad, jumping in again.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you, bro.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_00]: Three already tonight.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_00]: One, two, three.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_00]: I want to say already.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I'm keeping track.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, one, two, one, two, three, bro.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_00]: He says it's crazy how Denver seems to always be the hated team.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_00]: Do you feel like they're hated Zack the Broncos like maybe he's talking about the national kind of bias component that we all tend to feel and various ebs and flows?
- 28:31[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I'll give you two examples just from this week.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_01]: So on Monday's broadcast, we talked about it on the gut reaction.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_01]: But how about Troy, Akeman, just constantly blaming Bonyx and really, I think, coming down hard on the Broncos overall.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_01]: And that's been a theme going back to last year's game against Cleveland.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_01]: So there is something going on there and also a profile focus.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_01]: Dave ranked Bonyx after ranking him 36th in the NFL last week.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_01]: This week,
- 28:55[SPEAKER_01]: two spots better than 34 34 overall in the NFL.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, it still seems there's very much bias against the Broncos media bias, Sean Peyton bias referee bias would have you.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_01]: There's something there, but who cares Brad as long as the Broncos end up keeping winning football games?
- 29:13[SPEAKER_00]: For whatever it's worth, I do think like Broncos fans have been around long enough.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of us, anyway, to remember what it felt like when Peyton Manning was in the building and everybody kissed Denver's ass, basically, right?
- 29:27[SPEAKER_00]: Like everyone was just, it was like having Michael Jordan in the building and that felt good, but I think in order for that to really, as I just said, feel good.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_00]: The team has to live up to that level of expectation and just like the scrutiny.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_00]: this team what as led Zach by Sean Peyton, who is kind of that counter to the media guy, he's been kind of hated for reasons we've come to understand in the two and a half years, he's been the head coach here.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_00]: I think it serves him well to be honest with you because he's the type of coach that's able to not only utilize that himself and or whatever Zach, but bulletin board material, he's a really good motivator.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_00]: He knows how to get the most out of his
- 30:15[SPEAKER_00]: For now, I'll quote my part here who made something famous a long time ago.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_01]: Let him hate exactly Brad.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't care what they're saying about Boneyick Sean Peyton and the Broncos as long as they're adding to the left side of the wind column and out the right side, I'm good.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_00]: Where we out.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_00]: We're doing good on time 30 minutes, but tonight we started as close to the top of the hour as we could.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_00]: So we I think we got to try and be out here and like what's that 25 minutes is that about where you need to be out.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_00]: So we we got a little bit of time.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to go through the head to head here shortly, but Cody Dubb.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_00]: Brother.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_00]: Second super chat of the night a dear member.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_00]: Take what this defense will give you.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_00]: If it's four yards per carry them pound the rock and get first downs out way.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_00]: Keep our defense fresh.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's something, too, Zach, with a Vic Fangeo defense, the teams, if you think back, to when he was the head coach and the defense, you know, three years, in Denver, the teams that consistently we struggled against were the teams that were patient and would just take what the defense was given them.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_00]: And with that patience, it would,
- 31:38[SPEAKER_00]: My homes, for example, would find his shots taken and be on the money and what have you, but if you're patient against this defense and you stay committed to your game plan and as Cody says, take what it's giving you, that is going to give you as best of a leg up as you can get against this quality of an opponent.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_01]: The earlier I said, I mentioned three keys on Kelverman's corner on Tuesday.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_01]: One was the penalties Cody.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_01]: The other was the Broncos need to lean into their new found identity and not go away from it.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_01]: And their identity quite clearly is a run first team using JK Dobbins using RJ Harvey and then play action off that passing off that.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_01]: If they do that consistently and can cut off the penalties and like you said, keep the defense off the field.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to win a lot of football games the rest of the year.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_00]: No doubt.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_00]: And I like the way this rushing offense is is progressing like JK Dobbins is really getting into a groove or seeing Arjay Harvey come to life.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_00]: It was interesting exact today.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_00]: Sean Payton, let me see if I can find this real quick here on the running backs.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_00]: Let me just see.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_00]: I'm turning them over for it was early or.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, dad got it.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I'll I'll come back to it if I need to, but he was profuse in his praise, both for JK Dobbins and RJ Harvey.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and they're going to need him in this game, not just running the ball, but like RJ.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, man, those catch those passes that were maybe a little harder for you to to haul in last week.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_01]: And also, if you run the ball control the clock, you know what you do, you keep Jalen Hertz, say Juan Barclay, AJ Brown, Devonte Smith, Dallas, Cotterd, and that Philly offense off the field.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, run the ball, Sean.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_00]: Here's what he said, I think both of the quote, I think both of those guys were super excited about.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_00]: I've said this a million times, I think you can feed to and feature two.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_00]: I think both were exceptional the other night.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_00]: from the coach, we're gonna grab one more from B-Rat, then we'll do the head-to-head.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you, bro.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_00]: Number four tonight from the Superstar B-Rat saying, if we beat Philly, or even keep it close, we are legit.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_00]: I think we're legit, regardless, and Philly's a great, let me test, imagine stick if you will, Zach, to see really where, how true that is.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe I'm up in the night, and, you know, I'm tripping, but,
- 34:10[SPEAKER_00]: Well, no for sure how good this team really is like as he said, if it's a win, oh, man, how's going to come down?
- 34:16[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to maybe not be like the level of beating the chiefs back in 2023 when, you know, the streak had extended to 16 straight and the Broncos finally defeated them in Denver with Russ and Peyton, etc.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe not quite that level of elations act, but it would be a
- 34:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think this would be easily one of the biggest Broncos wins in the last decades since Peyton Manning Chad.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_01]: This is a statement when this is a resume building win for Sean Peyton and Bowniks, if they can pull it off.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see what happens.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, guys, time for the head to head.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_00]: Let's take a look here.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_00]: Mr. Producer's gonna control it for us here.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_00]: Geez, I'm so muscle memory.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_00]: I'm trying to click on to a tab to scroll it myself, even as I said that.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_00]: Here you have brachos versus equals 2 and 2, 4 and 0.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_00]: Let's look at the turnover margin here.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_00]: The eagles have been staying ahead of things.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_00]: They're plus 4.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_00]: That ties them for the fourth best turnover margin.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_00]: The brachos, though, minus 2,
- 35:22[SPEAKER_00]: and that's not great, but it's not totally horrendous.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_00]: Time of possession though, the Eagles are also in the top 10.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_00]: Remember, green signifies top 10 as you can see their red means bottom 10.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_00]: So that's something to monitor in this game is the Eagles have done well, keep in the ball, and it's crazy like it's more than a minute.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_00]: It's a minute and 10 seconds Zach is what separates in terms of time of possession.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_00]: The Eagles at 7th and the Broncos at 17th.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_00]: And really the difference there, of course, over the entire sample size of four games so far, is man, if the Broncos get just a little bit better on first and second down like they were last week, which leads to more favorable third downs that thus have improved third down conversion percentage of thus longer extended drives thus, more points in thus more time of possession, Broncos have been really close to that number getting bigger.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_00]: And I think it will as time marches on.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_01]: That's the key for this game and I think it was Quentin or Brad someone we just talked about it mentioned and nailed it.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_01]: You run the ball, control the clock, maybe it was Cody.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_01]: You keep the opposing offense off of the field.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_01]: That's why they look so impressive compared to the Charter's Game, for example.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_01]: The Charter's Game
- 36:38[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was Herbert and company ran 70 something plays and looked impressive.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_01]: The Brock was ran 80 plays against the bangles, 512 yards of offense.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_01]: They controlled the clock for 36 minutes, 35 minutes.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_01]: That is the key to success against every team.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_01]: But especially against a team like Philly with Hertz, Barclay and Company.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_00]: All right, let's look at these offences head to head here, Mr. Producer.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_00]: So the Broncos have started to create some greenery offensively.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_00]: They're ninth in yards per game.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_00]: They're tenth in yards per play.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_00]: That's good.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_00]: Points per game though.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_00]: They're still not punching it in as much as they need to.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_00]: They're tied for 16th, but they're the fifth ranked rushing offense, which is
- 37:18[SPEAKER_00]: a three spot improvement over their entering week four standing just the 16th net passing offense though so those are also that's a number that can improve as time marches on but they've been picked off four times which puts them in the
- 37:33[SPEAKER_00]: bottom 10, Bonyx, you know, he's only had one game so far in which he didn't turn the ball over.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_00]: The other greenery here, Zack, the Broncos have only allowed Bonyx to be sat three times.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_00]: That's tied for the first, for the fewest, that's tied for the fewest.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_00]: And then red zones still really high, 66% that ties him for eighth, but if you scroll up real quick,
- 38:02[SPEAKER_00]: not dead last dead first in red zone.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_00]: They're top 10 on third down.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_00]: They've only given it away once.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_00]: What do they scroll up a little more Scott on the rushing?
- 38:11[SPEAKER_00]: They're 27 points per game.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_00]: So they're tied for seven, but look, net yardage, the Eagles Zach, not really getting a lot of yards and yet they're up there in the time of possession.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_00]: Some some kind of a conundrum there.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the total yards yards per play.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_01]: That could be attributed to the passing yards per game chat.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_01]: 138, 31st in the NFL when you have jail and hurts.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_01]: That's crazy.
- 38:38[SPEAKER_01]: But that's also the beauty of having Sake One Barclay.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_01]: That's the beauty of having a lead defense like the Eagles do.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_01]: A hundred percent though on the red zone.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_01]: My word, I want to see if the Brock was defense can change that.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_00]: no doubt.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_00]: That surprises me as far as the Eagles on some of the red there on offense.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_00]: All right, as you were Scott back down to the defense, we'll hop down and see how these two defenses measure.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_00]: We'll keep it.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_00]: We'll start on the Eagles this time.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_00]: So yardage, there's 20 second per game, 333 yards yards per play.
- 39:08[SPEAKER_00]: They're 18 points.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_00]: They're given up 22 per game, rushing 126 per game.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_00]: So that's 21st passing.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_00]: They're the 17th rank passing defense.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_00]: But they have three picks, which ties in for the eighth most.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_00]: Two thumble recoveries, which gives them five total takeaways, which is top 10.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_00]: But they only have five sacks.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_00]: So they're not generating the same level of pressure and getting to the quarterback's deck that you might have expected them to come out of that superbowl, the nature of that superbowl victory.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_00]: And then they're really good though in the red zone.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_00]: So the Broncos, this is the unstoppable force thing versus the immovable object, because the Broncos are really good offensively in the red zone.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_00]: So is the Eagle's defense deck.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_01]: The Brock is defense, they have the number one red zone defense, and the Eagles have the number one red zone offense, so whoever wins that particular matchup, I think is going to win this football game.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the Broncos ranked first in the NFL in SACS, which that's so cool to see because it's not easy ZAC to lead the league in SACS for a full season as the Broncos did last year.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_00]: And then to get off to such a hot start in duplicating that for a second straight year is impressive, but they have finally cracked into the top 10 passing defense.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_00]: That's good to see.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_00]: But then again, two of the quarterbacks they've faced were Cam Warr making his first ever NFL start.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_00]: And of course, Jake Browning who was, look, he tested him early, especially man, but they shut him down.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_00]: So Broncos defense in this game, it really starts with shutting down.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_00]: say quambarkly in the run game and then just keep in jail and hurts as contained in that pocket as you can.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_00]: It would not surprise me, Zack, if this is a game where you don't see as many sacks from the Broncos because the strategy is slightly different.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, they're rushing, but the edge guys have to be really careful not to over
- 41:07[SPEAKER_00]: overdo it and allow big lanes and openings for him to, you know, just run past him and pick up yards with his legs.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_01]: And I hope I see PS2 on AJ Brown exclusively, I could not imagine Riley Moss 101 with AJ Brown that is a size mismatch and that would not favor the Brock was defense.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_01]: So you're right, keep Jalen to the pocket, hurry him, maybe spy him and make him beat you through the air because so far this season, Chad, he hasn't proven quite capable of doing that.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_00]: But this defense man, they're good on third down, they're good in the red zone, they sack you.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, all the metrics that usually signify like winning teams with formidable defenses are there for the Broncos.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_00]: The one thing missing this time around so far, though, is the takeaway.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_00]: So, got to see that start to kind of go Denver's way and things could really get rolling for this defense.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_00]: All right, we look at special teams.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, Zach.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_01]: No, I was just commenting on the green and the broccas are finally top 10 and punt return average kick return average so they're good there, but we got to get that the kick off return against there's still a little leaky chat as we could see there.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_00]: Definitely on on both punt and kick return yardage and after an encouraging first game.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_00]: the rookie punter Jeremy Krasha has kind of regressed back to the mean right now despite two of his games punting in the thin air of mile high he's basically middle of the pack punter up to this point and that's okay for now he's a rookie right like let him get on his feet but man I still think his ceiling is ridiculously high and I'm excited for a punter so let's keep it with injuries and to see him develop but penalties the Broncos have committed 31s
- 42:49[SPEAKER_00]: and as much as it seemed like for us watching like a non-stop penalty fest.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_00]: It actually only ranks tied for 20th, right?
- 42:59[SPEAKER_00]: Like it's not been relative to other teams that bad meanwhile, their opponents have committed 38.
- 43:09[SPEAKER_00]: So that's tied for the second most in the NFL.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_00]: Now for the Eagles though, they're middle of the pack, a little bit higher mid.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_00]: They're just outside the top 10, we'll say.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_00]: They're 14th in fewest penalties committed and their opponents,
- 43:22[SPEAKER_00]: have only been penalized 19 times tied for the 31st.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_01]: If anyone's curious who leads the NFL in penalties, I just looked it up.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_01]: The Jaguar is due with 38.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_01]: So not that far off from 31st, and their averaging still about eight penalties, a game way way way too many completely unacceptable.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_01]: They have to cut that out starting Sunday.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_00]: All right, there you have it, ladies and gentlemen, this week, week five Broncos eagles head to head as always.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_00]: We are very curious to hear what your guys thoughts are on what we just went through.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_00]: Joe Anthony, jumping in saying, if I were the Broncos, I would wait and see the season play out before we extend them.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_00]: What's wrong?
- 44:05[SPEAKER_00]: Is it wrong?
- 44:06[SPEAKER_00]: Should the Broncos extend JK Dobbins?
- 44:09[SPEAKER_00]: Zach, what do you think?
- 44:10[SPEAKER_00]: Do you agree with Joe?
- 44:12[SPEAKER_01]: at the way it's trending now you're going to want to have those talks eventually but not yet because the injury history chat and what they want to do with RJ Harvey incorporating him more and more he's the the future of the backfield not JK Dobbins but let's see it shake out a little longer and then we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_00]: We got Phil McLaughlin jumping in again on Facebook to say I'm shocked
- 44:34[SPEAKER_00]: We are getting the respect of only a three and a half point spread, yeah, and it opened four and a half so it's narrowed a little bit, but big part of that is the recent sea of such a big commanding victory right, that's part of it, but also as we just looked at the numbers.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, the Eagles are undefeated, but they've got some holes in the boat, man.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_00]: They're not.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_00]: They're far from impervious.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_00]: So they've, as always, and this is a markersack of a championship team, a team that's been through some wars.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_00]: The one thing the Eagles have over the Broncos in spades is that battle tested experience when the chips are down, and it can be anything from any kind of situational context is what I mean there.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_00]: It can be third down in the first quarter, but it's third down.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_00]: It can be red zone in the second quarter, or it can be end of game sequence, Zach, when everything just trinks and coalesces, and this is
- 45:33[SPEAKER_00]: you know, they saved, they're able to not so much save their best performance for those moments, but hyper focus, not, not let the pressure and kind of the enormity of these little moments get to them.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_00]: And that's the mark of a great team.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_00]: And it's something that, I mean, even if you think back to the 2015 World Champion Broncos, it was a marker of that team.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_00]: Like they just executed very well.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_00]: in critical moments.
- 45:58[SPEAKER_00]: And the Broncos, they're still kind of learning how to do that on the reg.
- 46:02[SPEAKER_00]: That's something that Eagles do, you know, in their sleep.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_01]: Well, for one of the bill's recent games, they were like 17 point favorites or something crazy like that.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_01]: So Vegas obviously foresees what I said earlier, I'm sure you would reach at a hard fought close game, not a blowout that could really go either way and we'll be determined in the fourth quarter.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_01]: So that's what I think we're
- 46:24[SPEAKER_00]: string guy, Rod's jumping into say Zach, who do you put on Jalen Hurts as a spy?
- 46:30[SPEAKER_00]: No one we don't have drag green love.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_01]: The guy you gave 30 million dollars to that's the preferable option there, but without him, I would have to think Talon Noah would be a good choice because he plays near the line of scrimmage anyway near the box, he could stay with Jalen Hertz and he's physical enough where he can bring him down in the open field.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_01]: So I would maybe use, you can't use any lineback or imagine singleton as a spy on Jalen Hertz or even start not for that, for that matter, I would put Hufanga on there.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_00]: interesting you'd have to have some answers for that in coverage like you know how you're going to count for that but I could see he has he could chase him down that's for sure if they go a more traditional a little traditional approach with the spy and it's one of the inside linebackers I almost triggered Scott almost said off ball linebackers Scott hates off ball don't
- 47:25[SPEAKER_00]: But anyway, that would be who are your options?
- 47:27[SPEAKER_00]: Well, Singleton, Justin Sternard.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_00]: If it's chasing them down, give me Singleton in that.
- 47:33[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what Singleton, not playing that well.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_00]: He does lead the team in tackles, you know, I think he's got 38 on the season already, but,
- 47:44[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, that's going to be a pickle.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_00]: This is why, you know, is the answer a spy or is the answer a slightly tweaked approach to the rush?
- 47:54[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, either way, you're going to have to tweak your approach and save the help vent for breakfast all out, get out for the quarterback stuff for certain situations.
- 48:02[SPEAKER_00]: Because if you do that every single time, it's a passage, man, he will he'll just wait and beat you with his legs.
- 48:10[SPEAKER_01]: I might have been saying this to be funny if they put Alex Singleton on jail and hurts as a spy.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_01]: He might retare his ACL.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_01]: Do it, Chad.
- 48:18[SPEAKER_01]: He can't roam with Tyler Warren.
- 48:19[SPEAKER_01]: He can't roam with running backs.
- 48:21[SPEAKER_01]: Bigger small.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to take down Jalen hurts in the open field.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know about that.
- 48:26[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully, VJ has a better plan.
- 48:29[SPEAKER_00]: It's a pickle, man.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_00]: It's a pickle, no doubt about it.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_00]: And that's another mark of a great team, offensively, they have a great quarterback.
- 48:37[SPEAKER_00]: And they can beat you in a lot of different ways.
- 48:40[SPEAKER_00]: And so more and more reasons why Zack, this is not just an important game because it matters for the win-loss, it matters for the standings.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_00]: But it's a genuine litmus test.
- 48:53[SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna see really how close to the top of the mountain teams, the Broncos really are.
- 48:59[SPEAKER_01]: And VJ wants a head coaching job.
- 49:01[SPEAKER_01]: Let him go out there and earn it on Sunday.
- 49:02[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we talk about the game plan.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_01]: That's why we're not paid the big bucks chat.
- 49:05[SPEAKER_01]: That's their job.
- 49:07[SPEAKER_01]: And hopefully he has a plan to contain hurts in company.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_00]: All right, guys, consider this the two minute warning any burning topics, questions, get him in the chat.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_00]: Super, as we will get to him before we dip.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to shout out Pearl.
- 49:20[SPEAKER_00]: Much love Pearl Hope you're doing well.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_00]: It'd be really great to meet you one of these days That I'm being greeted if it's in the cards, but if not, we're happy to have you in the community And thank you for being a member and every single night in the chat contributing to the conversation Let's see what Pantera is now Are you a huge fan of Pantera?
- 49:40[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Scott doesn't love them.
- 49:44[SPEAKER_00]: I don't love them Zach, are you a Pantera guy?
- 49:50[SPEAKER_00]: respect.
- 49:51[SPEAKER_00]: Are you talking to me?
- 49:52[SPEAKER_00]: That's that's the only song I really know, a pantera.
- 49:55[SPEAKER_00]: I gave him a shot in the 90s, not my cup of tea.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_00]: Then, but panteras wants to know.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_00]: So, okay, your your your your spine hurts.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_00]: That means you're taking, let's say it's Zach's approach and you're taking who found out of the coverage equation or it's what I said and one of the linebackers.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_00]: Well, and who's covered in the tight end?
- 50:15[SPEAKER_00]: Because they have a tight
- 50:18[SPEAKER_01]: I'll take my chances with Dallas Goddard beating me over Jalen Hurts beating me.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_01]: It's really as simple as that panterist.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_01]: This is why though, at the point I made earlier, this is why you signed Drake Green Law and gave them all that money and this is why it kills you that he's on IR right now.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yes indeed, but it's a look, VJ is going to have to rise to the occasion here in terms of the X's and O's and the scheme, and so are the players, man, this is going to be all hands on deck, man, all hands on deck.
- 50:49[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, Roy, Roy is a fan of Pantera.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they're still going.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the Abbott brothers are unfortunately both passed.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_00]: True tragedy would die in back
- 51:02[SPEAKER_00]: a Cody dub jumping in again.
- 51:04[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you buddy.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_00]: Your apprentice.
- 51:06[SPEAKER_00]: We appreciate you so much.
- 51:08[SPEAKER_00]: Since I have a feeling this is going to be a battle.
- 51:11[SPEAKER_00]: Denver needs to play the Eagles, how they Eagles played last year.
- 51:15[SPEAKER_00]: Run, run, run, pass.
- 51:17[SPEAKER_00]: Bo only needs 25-ish attempts.
- 51:21[SPEAKER_00]: Zack, I actually agree with this for the most part.
- 51:26[SPEAKER_01]: I the other option I'm still stuck on the that the spy question bank and code union right with that but the other thing I can I think of the only other option is to call up the bill daily because he's an inside linebacker that has some range that has some coverage ability why he doesn't get any playing time chat is beyond me.
- 51:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't know, man.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_00]: I think right now it's because he's not one of the top two and because he's not one of the top two and he doesn't play special.
- 51:52[SPEAKER_00]: He does not offer
- 51:58[SPEAKER_00]: He's on the outside looking in, but how big a deal is that really, if he's maybe your third best linebacker.
- 52:04[SPEAKER_00]: Apparently the Broncos don't think he's their third best linebacker, they've only elevated him once, and it was just a season opener.
- 52:10[SPEAKER_00]: Garrett Wallow meantime, three straight elevations.
- 52:16[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know, it's a pickle, dude.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_00]: I wish I could tell you what the answer is.
- 52:20[SPEAKER_00]: All, I mean, you just have to be really savvy in the coverage looks.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_00]: You want to try and force her to hold onto it a little bit longer than you might usually get the past rush there.
- 52:31[SPEAKER_00]: So like coverage wise, it's kind of like scary Zack because when VJ,
- 52:39[SPEAKER_00]: just goes with basic man coverage principles with the shell over the top and stuff.
- 52:43[SPEAKER_00]: That's when based on our personnel, that's one of the defense tends to thrive the most.
- 52:48[SPEAKER_00]: But if you play that way against this team straight up like they'll beat you, if that's all they see, no problem.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_00]: So you've got to mix it up with zone, but Zach, anytime the Broncos have run predominantly zone
- 53:05[SPEAKER_00]: everyone's complaining about how bad the defense looks today, how bad the second air was given up plays and this and that.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_00]: So it's like one of those situations where damned if you do damned if you don't, you've got to try some things though to confound this quarterback.
- 53:19[SPEAKER_01]: You also have to resign yourself to the Eagles are going to get theirs too.
- 53:22[SPEAKER_01]: You're not going to blank them.
- 53:23[SPEAKER_01]: You're not going to hold them to zero points and zero yards.
- 53:26[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to score.
- 53:27[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to move the ball.
- 53:27[SPEAKER_01]: You just have to mitigate it as best as possible.
- 53:30[SPEAKER_00]: And the Broncos.
- 53:31[SPEAKER_00]: I love the way you put that.
- 53:32[SPEAKER_00]: Broncos have to become one of those teams that is just assumed is going to get theirs as well.
- 53:37[SPEAKER_00]: And when they become fully that team that is just assumed they're going to get theirs.
- 53:41[SPEAKER_00]: That's when it's it's going to be reaching the potential.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_01]: And they could start to establish that reputation on Sunday, Chad, by even as we talked about earlier, hanging with the Eagles and making this a fight for all four quarters.
- 53:55[SPEAKER_00]: String guys, that could be funny what you said about singleton.
- 53:58[SPEAKER_00]: If it weren't sad, stopping the run scares me.
- 54:01[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why it's stopping the run with scary, but I don't know, Zach, I'm hopeful that as soon as that cast comes off with the thumb
- 54:14[SPEAKER_00]: rubber band back to the guy in perfect though he was pre ACL, but man, when you're 31, when you tear your ACL at 31, that's rough, man, because it takes you longer to recover, the older you get, even elite athletes are not impervious Zack to the effects of father time, and it's not that you necessarily get hurt more, although I would argue that that's probably true, you get hurt
- 54:45[SPEAKER_00]: That's not the worst part, though.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_00]: The worst part is it takes you longer to recover.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_00]: And you're seeing that before you're very eyes, I think, in Alex Simultum.
- 54:53[SPEAKER_01]: The problem with him though, he was already limited before the ACL tear.
- 54:57[SPEAKER_01]: He was only a two-down player that was decent against the run and horrible and coverage.
- 55:01[SPEAKER_01]: He's gotten worse and coverage, and he's not even at reliable against the run.
- 55:05[SPEAKER_01]: But comedy missed to accuracy at him in the first half alone, against Sincicechad.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_01]: He's a liability.
- 55:13[SPEAKER_00]: hurry up.
- 55:14[SPEAKER_00]: All right, gun to your head Zach.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_00]: Drake comes back.
- 55:17[SPEAKER_00]: What which lineback is coming off the field?
- 55:21[SPEAKER_00]: Stir nod.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_00]: Agreed.
- 55:23[SPEAKER_00]: Although it should be the other way around.
- 55:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 55:26[SPEAKER_00]: But all right, guys.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_00]: We got a few messages for you.
