Transcript
- 0:06Speaker 1: That great debate, Angie. Were Ross and Rachel on a break?
- 0:12Speaker 1: And there's a reason we're talking about this. This just
- 0:14Speaker 1: came up in the tea actually recently.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:16Speaker 3: So Lisa Kudrou, who very famously played Phoebe on Friends,
- 0:22Speaker 3: she's doing press for her show The Comeback, and she
- 0:25Speaker 3: was asked if she thought that Ross and Rachel were
- 0:28Speaker 3: on a break, and she said no, and furthermore that Ross.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Was a terrible boyfriend.
- 0:37Speaker 3: I don't agree with this, and I feel like I
- 0:40Speaker 3: go back and forth.
- 0:41Speaker 2: This is a.
- 0:41Speaker 3: Conversation amongst my siblings, this is a conversation amongst friends,
- 0:45Speaker 3: and it has been hah friends, No, and it has
- 0:48Speaker 3: been since it happened back in when was technically the break.
- 0:53Speaker 3: I think it was the late nineties. Like right, this
- 0:57Speaker 3: is an age old question, So we wanted to get
- 0:59Speaker 3: your take. We did post this on the Big ninety
- 1:01Speaker 3: eight point seven Facebook page. Also, feel free to call
- 1:04Speaker 3: us with your thoughts. We're Ross and Rachel on a break.
- 1:08Speaker 1: And you know what's kind of funny is someone who
- 1:10Speaker 1: did did not does not watch Friends. I think I've
- 1:13Speaker 1: seen a handful of episodes in my entire life. I
- 1:16Speaker 1: still know this scenario exactly. I have heard people talk
- 1:19Speaker 1: about this. It's like a pop culture thing.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Yeah, it was in the zeitgeist forever, and I love
- 1:24Speaker 3: that it's coming back around because I will say I
- 1:27Speaker 3: have watched I have rewatched Friends a few times, and
- 1:31Speaker 3: Lisa Kudro's not wrong in that Ross really.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Wasn't the best boyfriend. He wasn't. However, I don't know
- 1:40Speaker 2: why we're.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Pretending like Rachel was the most incredible girlfriend.
- 1:44Speaker 2: She wasn't.
- 1:45Speaker 3: They were toxic together, but they had chemistry and we
- 1:49Speaker 3: loved them together. So's it's that couple that you know
- 1:53Speaker 3: shouldn't be together, but for whatever reason, you root for them.
- 1:55Speaker 3: I think, yeah, But I was always team Ross on that.
- 1:59Speaker 2: I don't know that says about me. Really, they were
- 2:02Speaker 2: on a break. They were on a break.
- 2:03Speaker 3: I don't even think it should be were they on
- 2:05Speaker 3: a break because they were.
- 2:07Speaker 2: She said it, she said, we're on a break, and
- 2:10Speaker 2: so he did.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Now, what he did was he hooked up with somebody
- 2:13Speaker 3: else while they were on a break, and then she
- 2:15Speaker 3: found out and she was mad. Do I think it's
- 2:17Speaker 3: fine for her to be mad, like for her to
- 2:19Speaker 3: have hurt feelings, Yeah, yes, but to act like he cheated, No,
- 2:24Speaker 3: he did not.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Wow, and I will die on that hill.
- 2:28Speaker 4: Wow.
- 2:29Speaker 1: And on Facebook it seems like there are a lot
- 2:32Speaker 1: of ladies who would maybe disagree with you here Angie.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Julia said Ross is wrong and if roles were reversed,
- 2:39Speaker 1: he wouldn't be saying we were on a break.
- 2:42Speaker 4: Tia says, doesn't matter.
- 2:43Speaker 1: You don't sleep with someone else when you still technically
- 2:47Speaker 1: have a girlfriend. And Albert says, even if you're on
- 2:50Speaker 1: a break, nah, you end it for sure before you
- 2:53Speaker 1: move on like that, and then Amy, when you love someone,
- 2:56Speaker 1: you don't go sleep with anyone else that quickly.
- 3:00Speaker 2: I don't what. I don't agree with it.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Seven oh agree, seven oh one two eight zero one
- 3:05Speaker 1: nine eight seven let us know your thoughts here this
- 3:08Speaker 1: morning we all thought we also excuse me. You have
- 3:11Speaker 1: Lindsey who said, in the end, it doesn't matter, they
- 3:14Speaker 1: got back together the way it was meant to be.
- 3:17Speaker 1: And then Kristen my stance is, oh my god, that was.
- 3:22Speaker 4: Forever ago, which is funny. I kind of like that.
- 3:26Speaker 1: I would be in the I would kind of be
- 3:27Speaker 1: on the opposite ends of the argument with you. I think, Angie.
- 3:31Speaker 1: I think unless there's the full clean break you probably
- 3:34Speaker 1: you know, shouldn't I know it should be in these streets?
- 3:39Speaker 3: Is the kids say, I need you to have context
- 3:42Speaker 3: for this. I don't think he set out to do that.
- 3:45Speaker 3: I think he was heartbroken. They were on a break
- 3:48Speaker 3: and then he ended up. And I know that you
- 3:50Speaker 3: can't accidentally hook up with someone trip. I tell no,
- 3:54Speaker 3: I I feel like he should have been granted more
- 4:00Speaker 3: grace about it, And yeah, I will die on that hill.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Now.
- 4:05Speaker 3: Maybe I am so like team Ross because I've been
- 4:10Speaker 3: in a similar situation.
- 4:12Speaker 2: No, I haven't. I always thought they were on a break.
- 4:15Speaker 3: I think it is understandable for Rachel to have had
- 4:18Speaker 3: hurt feelings, but I think it was ridiculous for it
- 4:22Speaker 3: to turn into what it did.
- 4:25Speaker 5: Carrie, what do you think, dude, if you slept with
- 4:28Speaker 5: someone literally the second your girlfriend said she needed some space,
- 4:32Speaker 5: you definitely had that other girl lined up ahead.
- 4:34Speaker 6: Of time's team Rachel all the way.
- 4:37Speaker 4: Yeah, Rachel for Carrie, Oh my gosh, except for Carrie.
- 4:40Speaker 3: He didn't have the girl lined up, So you just
- 4:43Speaker 3: made up a different context.
- 4:45Speaker 2: And why am I a Ross apologist? Wow?
- 4:47Speaker 4: You're geting real passionate about this one.
- 4:55Speaker 7: We were on I'm sorry, are you speaking to me
- 4:57Speaker 7: or sleeping with someone else?
- 4:59Speaker 2: We were on a We.
- 5:00Speaker 4: Were on a break. I love the last lie. He's
- 5:04Speaker 4: just so passionate.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Well, the age of question. Were Ross and Rachel on
- 5:09Speaker 3: a break? Lisa Kudro brought this whole situation up during
- 5:12Speaker 3: an interview. She says, no, they were not on a break.
- 5:16Speaker 3: I think they were on a break.
- 5:19Speaker 4: People get very passionate about this something.
- 5:21Speaker 2: You're very passionate.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Yes, we do have a Missy on the phone, Missy,
- 5:25Speaker 1: good morning. Where are you calling from.
- 5:27Speaker 6: I'm calling from fergus Folds.
- 5:28Speaker 4: All right, Missy? What do you think? Were they on
- 5:30Speaker 4: a break?
- 5:31Speaker 6: I'm sorry, Angie, I have to disagree with you. They
- 5:33Speaker 6: were totally on a break.
- 5:35Speaker 3: So even though they.
- 5:37Speaker 6: Were on they were taking a break, they were not
- 5:40Speaker 6: broken up. And if he truly loved her getting back
- 5:42Speaker 6: to Phoebe, if he truly loved her, he would not
- 5:45Speaker 6: have gone on hours later and slept with someone else.
- 5:47Speaker 6: So Ross is completely completely in the wrong.
- 5:50Speaker 2: I don't think that he was going to sleep with
- 5:52Speaker 2: someone else.
- 5:53Speaker 3: If you remember, he called her and then heard that
- 5:56Speaker 3: Mark was in the apartment with her, and that's said,
- 6:00Speaker 3: and Tim and then he got really drunk and then
- 6:02Speaker 3: he hooked up.
- 6:03Speaker 2: I don't think he set out to do it.
- 6:05Speaker 6: I don't think he set out to do it. But
- 6:07Speaker 6: also like if he truly loved her, drunk or not,
- 6:11Speaker 6: he went to fleup with someone else.
- 6:12Speaker 4: That's right, Angie Y.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Drunk actions are sober thoughts when you're talking.
- 6:18Speaker 7: To me, Gabe celebrating life's little victories every morning we
- 6:28Speaker 7: practice gratitude on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 6:30Speaker 2: If I could, I would keep this feeling in a
- 6:32Speaker 2: basket job busted out when it was someone's acting hard.
- 6:36Speaker 5: Share your little victories with us at seven oh one
- 6:39Speaker 5: two eight ah one ninety eight.
- 6:40Speaker 4: Seven kids, I also needed to win that day, and a.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Big shout out to jen today or Jennifer, she said.
- 6:46Speaker 1: My job keeps me in a very much like static state.
- 6:50Speaker 1: I work at a desk job in a basement. There's
- 6:52Speaker 1: no windows, and I have a ten year old and
- 6:55Speaker 1: a three year old with another on the way. There's
- 6:59Speaker 1: not much motivation to walk around. That said, I've been
- 7:02Speaker 1: making an effort to get ninety minutes with ten thousand
- 7:05Speaker 1: steps a day. This past week, I got over my
- 7:08Speaker 1: time and step goals five of the seven days and
- 7:12Speaker 1: did most of that time outside.
- 7:15Speaker 4: So congratulations is.
- 7:16Speaker 2: To you so incredible.
- 7:18Speaker 3: I'm over here looking at my step stats from the
- 7:21Speaker 3: past week to make sure I'm hitting my average.
- 7:24Speaker 2: That's a big deal with one on the way, bro,
- 7:27Speaker 2: I was not walking around when I was pregnant.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Well, congratulations to you, jen or Jennifer. That's wonderful.
- 7:32Speaker 4: Angie. Do you have a little victory today?
- 7:35Speaker 2: I do.
- 7:35Speaker 3: Yesterday our receptionist, Genevieve, she turned twenty one years old,
- 7:42Speaker 3: and oh yeah, I was invited to have lunch with
- 7:46Speaker 3: her in celebration.
- 7:48Speaker 2: So that was yesterday and I.
- 7:49Speaker 3: Felt like not a regular mom, a cool mom because
- 7:53Speaker 3: I was hanging out a twenty one year.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Old Genevieve is who well, well what it wasn't there
- 7:59Speaker 1: like other twenty one year old and mostly like moms.
- 8:03Speaker 2: You shut your mouth when you're talking about okay.
- 8:05Speaker 3: So it was myself, it was Amanda, who used to
- 8:09Speaker 3: work right here up at ninety eight point seven, and
- 8:11Speaker 3: then Genevieve's mom, Corey, who works over on Bob So
- 8:14Speaker 3: it was us, Genevieve and then her bestie Jade. But
- 8:18Speaker 3: we sat in a booth and I sat on the
- 8:21Speaker 3: side with the twenty one year olds. So that made
- 8:24Speaker 3: me feel extra cool, you know what it should. And
- 8:28Speaker 3: then I got to bed by six point thirty pm.
- 8:31Speaker 4: Wow, what a night out. It was great, you rascal you.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I feel like I lived many lives yesterday because
- 8:39Speaker 3: when we were at twenty first birthday celebration time, I
- 8:42Speaker 3: took a shot. I was sipping on tequila like I was.
- 8:46Speaker 2: I was in the zone.
- 8:47Speaker 3: And then I got home and I had to make
- 8:49Speaker 3: dinner and read the kid's story.
- 8:52Speaker 2: I'm a multifaceted lady.
- 8:54Speaker 1: That sounds exactly like my pubcrawl day. I woke up,
- 8:57Speaker 1: did a bunch of work in the garage. Yeah, then
- 8:59Speaker 1: had to go to Boots Booze pub crawl and have
- 9:01Speaker 1: fun and be a functioning, you know, radio person, and
- 9:04Speaker 1: then went back to doing work.
- 9:05Speaker 3: See you, being an adult means that there are many layers.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Were like Shrek and an Onion, many layers?
- 9:12Speaker 2: Is what about you, James?
- 9:13Speaker 1: Well, Genevieve real quick is who who I or we asked,
- 9:17Speaker 1: were like, hey, is this cool?
- 9:18Speaker 3: Oh yeah, she's the authority for sure, right my little victory.
- 9:23Speaker 1: It's not it's not great, but I started rewatching Queen's
- 9:28Speaker 1: gambit yesterday on Netflix.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Oh, you're very into your chess life right now, So.
- 9:33Speaker 4: I get it, that's right. I am very into that.
- 9:35Speaker 1: And for whatever reason, we Cory and I took a
- 9:38Speaker 1: parenting class yesterday from six thirty to eight thirty. Now,
- 9:41Speaker 1: for me, it was almost kind of just more of
- 9:43Speaker 1: a refresher. There was a lot of things in that
- 9:45Speaker 1: that they do.
- 9:45Speaker 2: You already know everything.
- 9:47Speaker 4: That they covered in the dead class, Oh gotcha.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Yeah, So I was kind of just a refresher for me,
- 9:53Speaker 1: kind of a refresher for Corey, and you know, she
- 9:55Speaker 1: learned a couple of things that she didn't know before.
- 9:57Speaker 1: But when we were just sitting around, you know, it
- 10:00Speaker 1: was like five. This class was at like six six thirty.
- 10:03Speaker 1: I was like, well, I don't want to start, Like,
- 10:04Speaker 1: I can't. I'm not gonna start a movie, right, we
- 10:07Speaker 1: got to do this class in an hour. We're not
- 10:09Speaker 1: cooking dinner, forget that. And so I was like, I'll
- 10:12Speaker 1: just throw something on that I can just not care about. Yeah,
- 10:15Speaker 1: And of course I'm like completely dove right back in.
- 10:18Speaker 1: I forgot all about the entire show and now I'm
- 10:20Speaker 1: like gonna finish it today.
- 10:21Speaker 2: It's so good.
- 10:23Speaker 4: It's so wonderful, and you.
- 10:24Speaker 3: Don't even have to be into chess like that to
- 10:27Speaker 3: enjoy it.
- 10:28Speaker 1: No, you don't have to know any of the moves.
- 10:30Speaker 1: You don't have to know how the pieces moved.
- 10:32Speaker 4: Nothing.
- 10:32Speaker 3: By the end of watching Queen's gambit, I really felt like,
- 10:36Speaker 3: could I be a chess master?
- 10:37Speaker 2: The answer is no, right, but I like the feeling.
- 10:40Speaker 4: Right. I like that too. This is am I the problem?
- 10:46Speaker 4: It's the problem, It's me.
- 10:51Speaker 5: We'll hear one side of the story, and with your help,
- 10:54Speaker 5: am I the problem? Decide if it's right or if
- 10:57Speaker 5: maybe you're the problem.
- 10:59Speaker 4: I'm hardly the on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Ooof this one.
- 11:05Speaker 3: Let me tell you I read it through and I
- 11:07Speaker 3: feel a.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Way, so I'm curious to get your thoughts.
- 11:11Speaker 3: Yep and uh you seven oh one too? Eight on
- 11:14Speaker 3: one nine eight seven. We also have this up on
- 11:16Speaker 3: the Big ninety eight point seven Facebook page. Would love
- 11:19Speaker 3: your thoughts on this. Hey, Gab and Angie, love you guys.
- 11:23Speaker 3: This is Michelle, and I just wanted to say it's
- 11:25Speaker 3: always fun hanging out with you every morning on my
- 11:28Speaker 3: drive to work.
- 11:29Speaker 4: All right, thank you, Hey, thanks girl.
- 11:31Speaker 2: I'd love how sometimes I get the vibe that they
- 11:33Speaker 2: think they have to butter us up before.
- 11:35Speaker 1: I like that. Actually, I like that my responses will
- 11:39Speaker 1: be way more nice.
- 11:40Speaker 3: You're so silly. Okay, So here's my am. I the
- 11:43Speaker 3: problem situation. I was thinking about buying a new vehicle.
- 11:47Speaker 3: I didn't necessarily need one because my old car was
- 11:51Speaker 3: still in pretty good shape, but I just wanted something different.
- 11:54Speaker 3: I had mentioned this to my friend and she mentioned
- 11:57Speaker 3: that she was really in need of a car, but
- 11:59Speaker 3: her her budget was tight, so I thought I could
- 12:02Speaker 3: help her out by selling her my car. I honestly
- 12:06Speaker 3: could have gotten more for at the dealership, but I've
- 12:08Speaker 3: got great credit, so I was gonna be in good
- 12:10Speaker 3: shape regardless, and this way I help a friend who
- 12:13Speaker 3: really needs it. Literally, two weeks later, I found out
- 12:17Speaker 3: she turned around and sold the car to some random
- 12:22Speaker 3: for the price I told them originally.
- 12:25Speaker 2: I could have gotten for it.
- 12:26Speaker 4: Wow.
- 12:27Speaker 3: If a stranger did that, whatever, I wouldn't care because
- 12:31Speaker 3: I don't know them and there's nothing I could do
- 12:33Speaker 3: about it. But this girl is supposed to be my friend,
- 12:36Speaker 3: and it feels like she used me for a come
- 12:38Speaker 3: up when I tried helping her out.
- 12:41Speaker 2: It just feels like a scummy thing to do. Was
- 12:44Speaker 2: my friend wrong for that?
- 12:45Speaker 3: Or do I not have the right to be mad
- 12:47Speaker 3: since the car wasn't mine anymore after I sold it
- 12:50Speaker 3: to her?
- 12:51Speaker 2: Gabe, I want you to give your thought first.
- 12:55Speaker 1: All right, here's what I'll say. Is this something I
- 12:57Speaker 1: would do if I was in a situation. I'm like, man,
- 13:00Speaker 1: I really need a car. I wish I could find
- 13:02Speaker 1: like a good deal on one, and my buddy, a friend,
- 13:05Speaker 1: a family member, whatever, steps up and goes, hey, I
- 13:07Speaker 1: got you. Yeah, all right, I could get more for this,
- 13:11Speaker 1: but I'm going to help you out because I know
- 13:12Speaker 1: the budget's tight.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Would I ever do this? Absolutely not. Never would I
- 13:18Speaker 1: do this to my friend or a family member. But
- 13:21Speaker 1: I will say, I mean, technically, once that car is
- 13:26Speaker 1: signed on over, it is not yours. They can paint it,
- 13:30Speaker 1: they can put stickers on it, they can trash it,
- 13:33Speaker 1: they can do whatever they want with.
- 13:35Speaker 4: It because technically it is not yours.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Now, should you go do this to someone who's trying
- 13:40Speaker 1: to help you out, I would say absolutely not. That
- 13:43Speaker 1: is pretty pretty scummy, as she said in the email,
- 13:46Speaker 1: But it I mean, technically it's not your car.
- 13:50Speaker 3: Well, I can't live in the land of Technically, I
- 13:53Speaker 3: think this person is a monster. Michelle, you have every
- 13:57Speaker 3: right to be so mad. I think this is the
- 14:01Speaker 3: grimiest thing. Ever, how dare you that is a crappy friend.
- 14:07Speaker 3: This is a symptom of that person being just a
- 14:11Speaker 3: horrible person at their core.
- 14:13Speaker 2: I think this is a character flaw. I think that's gross.
- 14:17Speaker 3: I don't know how that person wakes up and looks
- 14:19Speaker 3: themselves in the mirror. I hope they never find joy.
- 14:23Speaker 3: I'm like mad.
- 14:25Speaker 2: I read this and I so mad.
- 14:28Speaker 3: I think that is so disgusting, especially, I feel like
- 14:33Speaker 3: times are hard for everyone these days in some way
- 14:37Speaker 3: or another, and you're really gonna do something so shady
- 14:41Speaker 3: and so grimy to someone who was extending a hand
- 14:45Speaker 3: to you. That's gross. That's gross, And Michelle, you're not
- 14:49Speaker 3: the problem. She I hope you never talked to that
- 14:51Speaker 3: girl ever again. I hope that she loses whatever money
- 14:55Speaker 3: that she got. I hope she drops it into a
- 14:58Speaker 3: sewer grate and can't get it back.
- 15:00Speaker 2: I'm big mad. I think that's gross. What do you think?
- 15:03Speaker 3: Seven on one two eight O one nine eight seven
- 15:06Speaker 3: Do you think Michelle has a right to be angry
- 15:09Speaker 3: about how her friend handled this, uh buying the car situation?
- 15:13Speaker 3: Or do you think Michelle made the choice to sell
- 15:16Speaker 3: it and now she's got to deal with the consequences.
- 15:23Speaker 1: What an the problem today? I do need to make
- 15:26Speaker 1: one thing clear. I feel like I'm getting cooked a
- 15:28Speaker 1: little bit. I agree with Angie that this is a
- 15:31Speaker 1: terrible move. I would never imagine doing this to someone. Okay,
- 15:36Speaker 1: but someone's kind of got to play the other side
- 15:39Speaker 1: a little bit today, you know what I mean. I
- 15:42Speaker 1: think everyone would agree this is a really kind of
- 15:45Speaker 1: dbag move. But if Angie and I just both came
- 15:49Speaker 1: on here and said, oh yeah, this person sucks.
- 15:52Speaker 2: This person so you're playing devil's ad, it's got to.
- 15:54Speaker 4: Play devil's advocate a little bit, you know what I mean.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Here's the situation.
- 15:59Speaker 3: Michelle was going to sell her car get a new one.
- 16:03Speaker 3: She had a friend who mentioned that she really needed
- 16:05Speaker 3: a car, but her budget was tight, so Michelle thought, Okay,
- 16:08Speaker 3: I'll sell her the car for a lower price because
- 16:12Speaker 3: she really needs the car. Two weeks later, the girl
- 16:16Speaker 3: turns around sells the car for the original amount that
- 16:20Speaker 3: Michelle would have gotten for the car had she sold
- 16:22Speaker 3: it to someone else, And so Michelle feels like that
- 16:25Speaker 3: was a really, you know, grimy thing to do, a
- 16:28Speaker 3: scummy thing to do to get a come up on
- 16:31Speaker 3: your friend who was just trying to do you a favor.
- 16:34Speaker 2: I agree with Michelle.
- 16:36Speaker 3: That I think that is a low down dirty She
- 16:39Speaker 3: is not a good person.
- 16:41Speaker 2: I don't like it. I don't like it at all.
- 16:43Speaker 3: We have this posted on the Big ninety eight point
- 16:45Speaker 3: seven facebook page. If Gabe you could look through those,
- 16:49Speaker 3: but I will say we got a text from Lindsay. Lindsey, Okay,
- 16:56Speaker 3: maybe an unpopular opinion, but it feels like Michelle was
- 17:00Speaker 3: being performative about wanting to help a friend in need.
- 17:05Speaker 3: If she's upset that her friend improved her situation by
- 17:08Speaker 3: selling the car for more money, broadcasting, this is very
- 17:12Speaker 3: pick me energy in my honest opinion, Wow, so you
- 17:17Speaker 3: know what, Maybe you were playing devil's advocate, Gabe. But
- 17:20Speaker 3: Lindsay agrees, Wow, with the devil's advocacy.
- 17:26Speaker 4: Well, there's a lot of people who would disagree with Lindsay.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Here, we've got Julia who said that's not cool, and
- 17:32Speaker 1: I would also be upset. That's not a friend. They
- 17:34Speaker 1: took advantage of you. Sarah said, Sarah said. And Sarah's
- 17:39Speaker 1: kind of a little bit middle of the fence, I
- 17:41Speaker 1: mean kind of sort of. She's kind of saying what
- 17:43Speaker 1: I am in regards to your friendship. Yeah, that was
- 17:46Speaker 1: a bleep move, but you sold it to her, assuming
- 17:50Speaker 1: the paperwork was completed and filed. It's her car to
- 17:53Speaker 1: do with what she wanted. I wouldn't raise mountains over
- 17:57Speaker 1: this if you value the friendship. I've learned that even
- 17:59Speaker 1: the good ones are bleep people at times. Gotta find
- 18:03Speaker 1: a balance and pick your battles. So Sarah's kind of
- 18:07Speaker 1: saying what I'm saying, Yes, that is a horrible move
- 18:10Speaker 1: to do to someone that you know, suppose you care
- 18:13Speaker 1: about as a friend or whatever.
- 18:15Speaker 4: But it's not your property after that anymore.
- 18:18Speaker 3: What don't you think seven oh one two, eight oh
- 18:20Speaker 3: one nine eight seven text us call us. We also
- 18:23Speaker 3: have it up on the big ninety eight point seven
- 18:25Speaker 3: Facebook page.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Where y'all are granting grace.
- 18:28Speaker 1: I have absolutely there are a lot of people who
- 18:31Speaker 1: are like, I'm with Angie on.
- 18:32Speaker 3: This, right this everywhere, we'll die on the hills, right.
- 18:36Speaker 1: I do want to compare this to one situation though,
- 18:38Speaker 1: because this this is insane, that someone would do this
- 18:41Speaker 1: to someone who they is supposedly their friend. Yeah, imagine
- 18:44Speaker 1: I'm like, hey, Angie, I really need one hundred dollars.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Could you please, you know, loan me or give me
- 18:50Speaker 1: one hundred bucks? And Angie, out of the kindness of
- 18:53Speaker 1: her heart.
- 18:53Speaker 3: I really would If you said I need one hundred dollars,
- 18:56Speaker 3: I would give it to you.
- 18:56Speaker 2: I wouldn't even ask.
- 18:57Speaker 1: For you to give it back, right And Angie, out
- 18:59Speaker 1: of the kindness of hard gives me one hundred dollars.
- 19:01Speaker 1: And I go to the gas station and buy, you know,
- 19:04Speaker 1: one hundred dollars worth of scratch offs and win one
- 19:07Speaker 1: thousand dollars. Could you imagine if I didn't give Angie
- 19:10Speaker 1: the hundred bucks back at that point, you'd be.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Dead to me.
- 19:13Speaker 3: See, I would find a way to get you in
- 19:15Speaker 3: trouble with HR and fired so that I wouldn't have
- 19:18Speaker 3: to work with you anymore.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Now, Angie's been mad at me for two days in
- 19:24Speaker 1: a row, let's make it three if you're keeping track.
- 19:26Speaker 3: To be fair, this isn't something that you have done,
- 19:30Speaker 3: but this is something that you could do, so I'm
- 19:33Speaker 3: preemptively mad.
- 19:35Speaker 4: Oh this sounds very familiar.
- 19:37Speaker 3: This I mean it's almost like we're married, but with
- 19:40Speaker 3: our the sex part anyway, go, that is what this is,
- 19:46Speaker 3: a platonic marriage. I was looking at the calendar earlier
- 19:50Speaker 3: and I realized, like, oh, happy, Harry's rip fest.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Is in three weeks, exactly three weeks.
- 19:55Speaker 3: But that also means that today is May thirteenth, and
- 19:59Speaker 3: I a officially to myself, started my fitness journey exactly
- 20:05Speaker 3: two months ago, March thirteenth.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Yes, and what do I have to show for it? Gabe?
- 20:11Speaker 2: I did drop two pant sizes.
- 20:14Speaker 4: That's awesome.
- 20:14Speaker 2: I'm happy for that, thank you. Technically, the scale's not
- 20:20Speaker 2: looking great.
- 20:20Speaker 3: I'm only down six pounds in two months, which I
- 20:22Speaker 3: guess is like slow, sustainable, steady progress.
- 20:25Speaker 2: So I am happy about that.
- 20:27Speaker 4: Well, that's awesome, thank you.
- 20:29Speaker 2: But it got me thinking when I looked over at
- 20:33Speaker 2: you that literally, you could.
- 20:36Speaker 3: Just go on a walk today and then you could
- 20:39Speaker 3: come into the studio tomorrow and be like, yeah, I
- 20:42Speaker 3: went on a walk and I dropped five pounds, Like
- 20:45Speaker 3: that is how your metabolism works. And I know that
- 20:51Speaker 3: you eat a lot, Gabe, I've.
- 20:53Speaker 4: Witnessed I am going to eating food, yeah.
- 20:55Speaker 2: Tomorrow quite literally at unhinged.
- 20:58Speaker 3: When we're there for happy hour, you will have house
- 21:00Speaker 3: not only a few platefuls of wings, you'll also dig
- 21:05Speaker 3: in on a pizza.
- 21:06Speaker 2: And what will happen. Nothing.
- 21:09Speaker 3: You will not get bloaded, you will not gain anything.
- 21:12Speaker 3: And I will think about the potatoes that unhinged today,
- 21:17Speaker 3: and by tomorrow.
- 21:18Speaker 2: I will have gained five founds.
- 21:20Speaker 3: Like it's just so frustrating to look over at iim
- 21:25Speaker 3: metabolic rate, gabe over here, and I'm over here for
- 21:29Speaker 3: two months, I mean working hard, and I have made progress,
- 21:36Speaker 3: and so I'm very happy, and I'm honestly like, it's
- 21:39Speaker 3: not that I look at myself and think what a
- 21:42Speaker 3: piece of trash I need to lose all this weight.
- 21:44Speaker 3: I just want to get in back into the shape
- 21:46Speaker 3: that I was prior to moving here, where I'm just
- 21:49Speaker 3: more comfortable, more active, whatever.
- 21:51Speaker 2: But just as an aging woman, oh and I'm older
- 21:55Speaker 2: than you.
- 21:55Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, as an aging woman, it becomes increasingly
- 21:59Speaker 3: more differ difficult.
- 22:00Speaker 2: To get back into a fighting shape. I guess then
- 22:05Speaker 2: it took.
- 22:05Speaker 3: Me in my twenties, and so your existence as a.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Man who does not gain weight is.
- 22:13Speaker 3: Upsetting me today. I'll get over it, surely, by tomorrow.
- 22:17Speaker 3: But that also means I'll have something surely new to
- 22:20Speaker 3: be angry with you about.
- 22:21Speaker 2: It's just not your week with me game.
- 22:24Speaker 1: There are there is a guy right now riding in
- 22:28Speaker 1: his car or at work who just heard that, you know,
- 22:33Speaker 1: two minutes soliloquy and when oh wow, Gabe's in trouble
- 22:38Speaker 1: for something he didn't do, can't control, didn't decide. Yeah,
- 22:43Speaker 1: that sounds familiar. This is the most hubby wife argument.
- 22:47Speaker 1: I've not even argument. This is the most hubby wife
- 22:49Speaker 1: discussion I know.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Because really, you didn't argue. You just sat there and
- 22:53Speaker 2: you took it like a chance. Thanks Gabe.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Well, Angie, I just want to remind you, as the
- 22:57Speaker 1: Great Theodore Roosevelt once sel, what what comparison is the
- 23:04Speaker 1: thief of joy. I was born with this metabolic metabolic rate,
- 23:10Speaker 1: Thank you metabolic rate.
- 23:12Speaker 4: I didn't decide this for me, for me.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Twenty minutes ago you said I could never look like
- 23:20Speaker 1: Brad Pitt from Fight Club. Yeah, give me to the
- 23:23Speaker 1: end of May.
- 23:26Speaker 3: Shredded before I can fit into my genes from last year.
- 23:31Speaker 2: I will quit this.
- 23:32Speaker 5: Job starting off the day with something good. This is
- 23:42Speaker 5: Gabe's good news on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Well, game's good news of the day starts out at
- 23:49Speaker 1: kind of an annoyance, not good news at all. But
- 23:52Speaker 1: I do think, you know, if we do a little
- 23:54Speaker 1: glitten spin zone here, Angie, we could see the positivity.
- 23:57Speaker 1: With gas prices hovering around or even above four bucks
- 24:02Speaker 1: in North Dakota and or Minnesota, more people in the
- 24:06Speaker 1: FM area are dusting off their bicycles instead of filling
- 24:10Speaker 1: up their gas tanks.
- 24:11Speaker 4: Local bike shops.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Like Paramount Sports in the Great Northern Bicycle Company, they
- 24:15Speaker 1: say they've been busy with tune ups and repairs as
- 24:18Speaker 1: people realize fixing up an old bike can cost way
- 24:22Speaker 1: less than a tank of gas.
- 24:24Speaker 4: And you know me, I do love me.
- 24:26Speaker 1: The bike community shop owners are saying e bikes are
- 24:29Speaker 1: now becoming more popular for longer commutes, and even when
- 24:32Speaker 1: gas prices eventually come back down, they hope people fall
- 24:36Speaker 1: in love with riding and continue riding their bike for
- 24:39Speaker 1: the health benefits, the convenience.
- 24:41Speaker 4: And the fun.
- 24:42Speaker 1: There are a lot of awesome benefits to riding a bike,
- 24:46Speaker 1: whether you do it just for fun, you know, when
- 24:48Speaker 1: you get off of work or a little more serious
- 24:51Speaker 1: riding and you ride it to work and back home.
- 24:53Speaker 1: It actually is your transportation vehicle, or you're entering in
- 24:57Speaker 1: some kind of race or a triathlon and you need
- 24:59Speaker 1: to a bike or whatever you need to bike for.
- 25:02Speaker 4: I am all for it because there's.
- 25:04Speaker 1: So many other benefits to win more people bike, yeah,
- 25:06Speaker 1: than just health. When more people bike, there's less pollution because.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Yeah, the environmental impact.
- 25:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:12Speaker 1: Yeah, So I love the fact that people are going, hey,
- 25:15Speaker 1: you know what, I am don't want to pay this
- 25:17Speaker 1: much for gas or I can't afford it or whatever,
- 25:20Speaker 1: and they're using their I don't know, other resources to
- 25:24Speaker 1: find ways to help them save money, maybe enjoy a
- 25:26Speaker 1: couple of health benefits and more people biking around Fargo
- 25:29Speaker 1: something I'm always gonna loe.
- 25:31Speaker 3: Oh, I know, because you're obsessed with your bike. If
- 25:33Speaker 3: you don't break your bike out today, Gabe, you're living
- 25:35Speaker 3: life wrong because the weather's perfect for it.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Quite literally.
- 25:38Speaker 3: Your boy Mikey, who's my man, texted me and said
- 25:42Speaker 3: that he's on his bike right now.
- 25:44Speaker 4: Yeah. I am in a bit of a conundrum.
- 25:45Speaker 1: I got to figure out a lot of stuff to
- 25:47Speaker 1: do today because I gotta hit golf balls, you know, yeah,
- 25:49Speaker 1: golf community. My wife wants to go for a walk
- 25:52Speaker 1: when she gets home because it's so nice. So I
- 25:55Speaker 1: got to be in the walking with pregnant wife community. Yeah,
- 25:57Speaker 1: and then I got to try to sneak.
- 26:01Speaker 2: I like that everything's a community.
- 26:03Speaker 4: I gotta try to figure out bike ride time.
- 26:07Speaker 1: So either way, seeing more people on bikes is something
- 26:10Speaker 1: I think is wonderful and it's gonna be great, and
- 26:12Speaker 1: you never know at the end of the day who
- 26:13Speaker 1: really ends up enjoying it and does it, you know,
- 26:16Speaker 1: throughout the year.
- 26:17Speaker 4: I think it's just wonderful.
- 26:18Speaker 3: This was quintessential Gabe's good news.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Not only that, you know, if you take your bike,
- 26:23Speaker 1: you got free parking everywhere. Don't forget my favorite quote,
- 26:27Speaker 1: broken crayons, they still color. And the world is full
- 26:30Speaker 1: of nice people. If you can't find one, you gotta
- 26:32Speaker 1: be one.
