- 0:56Speaker 4: I have a Peloton treadmill. It's awesome. It's a little
- 1:00Speaker 4: too big. It's hardcore. Maybe want to buy it?
- 1:05Speaker 2: Buy it?
- 1:07Speaker 6: Can you just get it or no?
- 1:08Speaker 5: No?
- 1:09Speaker 4: I've had it for about three years, four thousand dollars
- 1:11Speaker 4: four like three years ago. I looked into getting one.
- 1:16Speaker 6: I just don't have a place to put it.
- 1:17Speaker 4: I know.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the hard part man, Like where do you
- 1:20Speaker 2: put it?
- 1:20Speaker 4: Well, I put it in at my gym.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Well I don't have a gym.
- 1:23Speaker 4: Well you're asking me. You asked the question like.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Normal people, like where do we put a treadmill in
- 1:28Speaker 2: the garage?
- 1:29Speaker 4: Yeah, in the garage.
- 1:30Speaker 2: I've done that before. It ended up being a place
- 1:31Speaker 2: where we just hung stuff.
- 1:33Speaker 4: Like even if you put in the house, that's worth it.
- 1:36Speaker 4: I have one that I would unload for cheap. I
- 1:40Speaker 4: have a new one coming in that's been sent to
- 1:42Speaker 4: me by a sponsor, which is cool, and it's a
- 1:47Speaker 4: treamil is a treadmill. So but anyway, I just got
- 1:50Speaker 4: a note here going.
- 1:51Speaker 7: The nice ones are definitely different though, Like the gym
- 1:54Speaker 7: that I go to now is nice one that it feels.
- 1:56Speaker 4: Great til it's awesome. It's hardcore. This other one I'm
- 1:59Speaker 4: getting is hard core. Two is like it's not like
- 2:01Speaker 4: one where the little ground comes up you when you run.
- 2:04Speaker 4: It's like oh yeah yeah, so he's yeah, okay, Well
- 2:09Speaker 4: if somebody wants a treadmill, anybody, no one said anything.
- 2:12Speaker 4: It's also it's heavy because it's hardcore. It's not super
- 2:17Speaker 4: easy to move, but I gotta move mine, Katie.
- 2:20Speaker 5: I don't know if I could fit it in my
- 2:21Speaker 5: Volkswagen Beetle or log it from Airbnb to Airbnb.
- 2:25Speaker 4: She's still living that, but the.
- 2:26Speaker 5: Nomadic life might not be the right time for me
- 2:29Speaker 5: to invest Gypsy.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:32Speaker 4: Okay, So John Shobby coming up, and I got a treadmill.
- 2:38Speaker 4: What do I want to do first before we get
- 2:39Speaker 4: to the titletown? I got an update on me hosting the
- 2:42Speaker 4: Rich Eisen Show coming up, and Eddie had a dream
- 2:45Speaker 4: he was gonna.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Come with me. Oh yeah, it's crazy, man, have bad news, Eddie.
- 2:47Speaker 4: It's not happening. What Sorry, you can't go. I'm not
- 2:50Speaker 4: going anymore. Oh you're not going those dates now? Rich
- 2:54Speaker 4: is like, I'm not even leaving. I'm gonna be hot.
- 2:56Speaker 4: He's there for Monday, and I was doing Monday and
- 2:57Speaker 4: Tuesday and he's like, you can still do Tuesday, and
- 2:59Speaker 4: I'm like, I'm I gonna just to do Tuesday. It
- 3:04Speaker 4: is difficult for me because I gotta be back Wednesday.
- 3:06Speaker 4: So I passed. I'm so but maybe in the fall,
- 3:10Speaker 4: okay if I can.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Yeah, because the dream it meant something, you know, So
- 3:14Speaker 2: I feel like we shouldn't just not do it.
- 3:16Speaker 4: So I'm terribly disappointed because that's always really fun for
- 3:18Speaker 4: me to go and host that show. It's on Roku,
- 3:21Speaker 4: it's on TV, it's a national show. But he's like,
- 3:24Speaker 4: I'm now not leaving for Monday, so you can still
- 3:27Speaker 4: come do Tuesday. It's that's I'm just unable to do that.
- 3:31Speaker 2: We ask you a question and be honest with me, but.
- 3:33Speaker 4: You're gonna ask it anyway, So why would you ask?
- 3:35Speaker 2: Well, no, you can just say no, not right now.
- 3:36Speaker 4: But I don't even know what the questions about, so
- 3:37Speaker 4: I wouldn't say no. It's always questions freely. It's about
- 3:40Speaker 4: rich Eisen. Go ahead.
- 3:41Speaker 2: So when you're on that show, because I heard the
- 3:43Speaker 2: show and there's like good chemistry with you and the
- 3:45Speaker 2: guys and all that.
- 3:46Speaker 4: Makes me wish I was part of a better show
- 3:47Speaker 4: than this.
- 3:47Speaker 2: That was my question.
- 3:48Speaker 4: Yeah, all right, that's what I thought.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Like, when you vibe with dudes like that, like real sports.
- 3:53Speaker 4: Does it make you jealous little bit?
- 3:55Speaker 2: A little bit?
- 3:56Speaker 4: I have to depend on them though more than it's
- 3:58Speaker 4: a different vibe because the first time I went into
- 4:00Speaker 4: that show, I know what I was. I know what
- 4:02Speaker 4: was up, I don't know how much need to prepare.
- 4:04Speaker 4: I already have this feeling because I'm so insecure anyway
- 4:07Speaker 4: when I go into a place like that, meaning they
- 4:09Speaker 4: probably just think they're letting me on because I have
- 4:12Speaker 4: a big audience, not because I know what I'm talking about.
- 4:14Speaker 4: So I have like this need to prove myself. So
- 4:17Speaker 4: I'm going and I'm like, these guys are probably rolling
- 4:19Speaker 4: their eyes becuse they probably would want to host the show,
- 4:21Speaker 4: like they're guys gone, how come one of them can't?
- 4:23Speaker 4: So I've worked myself into a stupor on going this
- 4:27Speaker 4: is going to be miserable when it's really so much fun.
- 4:30Speaker 4: So Day one is me figuring out what work do
- 4:33Speaker 4: I need to do? Are these guys cool? Do they
- 4:36Speaker 4: wish they were doing it? Is? The resentment?
- 4:38Speaker 8: Is there?
- 4:38Speaker 4: Jealousy? How much time? Three hours? It's a lot of
- 4:43Speaker 4: time to fill. How much is that to fill? When
- 4:46Speaker 4: it's so all of that is day one. Day two
- 4:50Speaker 4: is awesome because I love those guys are so much fun.
- 4:53Speaker 4: They're just propping people. They want people to succeed. When
- 4:56Speaker 4: they come in. They have so much stuff prepared. I mean,
- 4:59Speaker 4: I still come in with way too much. But it's
- 5:01Speaker 4: like this show, I could probably do two shows every
- 5:03Speaker 4: day on the amount of stuff they have in front
- 5:05Speaker 4: of me.
- 5:05Speaker 2: We could possibly talk about yeah, because I've sent you
- 5:07Speaker 2: some good stuff, we just don't talk about it.
- 5:09Speaker 4: Yeah, that would be show three in a day. If
- 5:11Speaker 4: we ever got to say, to.
- 5:11Speaker 7: Go by fast like the first day, or were you
- 5:14Speaker 7: like an hour and you're like, holy crap, myself two
- 5:16Speaker 7: hours because you're thinking so much.
- 5:20Speaker 4: I would say it goes by pretty fast. Because one,
- 5:25Speaker 4: that show's good for guests, meaning they didn't get plenty
- 5:29Speaker 4: of decent guests, and then they also say, hey, if
- 5:31Speaker 4: you want to bring any guests, you can. So I
- 5:33Speaker 4: called Craig Kilbourne. I messaged to him, and I thought
- 5:35Speaker 4: that was super cool. He came by. They kind of
- 5:38Speaker 4: give you a little, you know, a lot of autonomy,
- 5:40Speaker 4: a little carte blanche to do whatever you want, which
- 5:43Speaker 4: I thought was weird because when Rich called me before
- 5:46Speaker 4: I hosted, He's like, do whatever you want, and I'm like,
- 5:49Speaker 4: I don't know what that means. He goes to talk
- 5:50Speaker 4: about whatever you want, talk about this wards so and
- 5:53Speaker 4: I'm like, how serious is he? And also I'm like
- 5:54Speaker 4: rich eis on my phone.
- 5:56Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 5:56Speaker 4: Aside from like the.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Actual talk what world are we living in?
- 6:00Speaker 4: And I was playing mad against my buddy and I
- 6:02Speaker 4: had my at him on speakers. My buddy could hear
- 6:04Speaker 4: them see where the uh so? But I've actually never
- 6:09Speaker 4: met him in person. Oh, talked to him on this
- 6:11Speaker 4: show on zoom, talked to him on the phone. But
- 6:14Speaker 4: if I'm there, he's not there.
- 6:15Speaker 6: It's true, but never like another event or something. Does
- 6:19Speaker 6: he golf?
- 6:20Speaker 4: I don't know. I think so probably a little bit,
- 6:23Speaker 4: but not going. And those guys are really cool. I
- 6:25Speaker 4: depended on them a lot, but they it's such a
- 6:28Speaker 4: dynamic where they have their vibe and you just kind
- 6:30Speaker 4: of fall into their vibe.
- 6:31Speaker 2: You all had great chemistry. Thanks man, you're jealous, maybe
- 6:34Speaker 2: a little jealous. And then it made me think too,
- 6:35Speaker 2: like could we handle a guest, Like if BONES was like, hey,
- 6:39Speaker 2: we have uh you know Rich or yeah, Rich comes in?
- 6:44Speaker 2: Can we handle them? Because I feel like I'd be
- 6:45Speaker 2: a little territorial, like who do you think you are?
- 6:48Speaker 5: Nice?
- 6:49Speaker 4: You know what? That's what I want? You know what
- 6:50Speaker 4: I mean, that's what I want.
- 6:51Speaker 2: So they just come into our studio and act like
- 6:53Speaker 2: this is your show man.
- 6:54Speaker 4: Boom, and that's what I thought they would do to me.
- 6:55Speaker 6: That person, not your desk, Come on now.
- 6:59Speaker 4: Caitlin Clark WNBA star on USA Women's Olympic roster alternate list.
- 7:04Speaker 4: If I were heard, no way wouldn't want to be
- 7:05Speaker 4: on this team this year.
- 7:06Speaker 2: No way.
- 7:07Speaker 4: I would have my people go and say, hey, just
- 7:09Speaker 4: the way you've treated me exactly, And now it's going
- 7:12Speaker 4: to be totally awkward if she shows up when you
- 7:15Speaker 4: know those women already on the team didn't want her there.
- 7:17Speaker 4: That's why she didn't make it.
- 7:18Speaker 2: But is it like serving military like that You've been
- 7:22Speaker 2: asked to join the Olympic team and you're gonna.
- 7:25Speaker 6: Say, I think it's if somebody gets hurt.
- 7:27Speaker 4: Yeah, but Eddie sand do you have to go?
- 7:29Speaker 6: It's like oh draft, you go to jail.
- 7:32Speaker 2: And you go, no, thank you for my country.
- 7:33Speaker 4: WHOA The Indiana Fever's Kaitlin Clark and Connecticut sons Brown
- 7:37Speaker 4: and Jones are two of the top alternates, and I
- 7:40Speaker 4: feel like they were like, well, everybody freaked out, Yeah,
- 7:43Speaker 4: America's pissed. We need to put her on. If I
- 7:45Speaker 4: were her, and no, where would I go? Because I'm
- 7:48Speaker 4: not gonna treat her nice. It's gonna be that Forest
- 7:50Speaker 4: Gump scene. You can't see you take every single person
- 7:53Speaker 4: on that team. See it's taken.
- 7:55Speaker 2: When she's trying to get lunch.
- 7:56Speaker 4: Yeah, I just I just do you mind if I
- 7:58Speaker 4: have my chicken salad and can't city? So would not
- 8:04Speaker 4: want to do it if I were her, No chance,
- 8:06Speaker 4: no way. I am doing a panel with Sue Bird.
- 8:10Speaker 4: I've met her. I did. I met Sue Bird and
- 8:15Speaker 4: I met her wife or partner who is the soccer
- 8:19Speaker 4: player with the blonde hair, Ropino, Megan Rappino, and they
- 8:23Speaker 4: were They were very nice. They're married either partners. I
- 8:25Speaker 4: don't know if I don't know what the deal is.
- 8:27Speaker 4: They were together and we were standing at Weezer and
- 8:34Speaker 4: Weeze were played for like twenty people.
- 8:36Speaker 2: It's a private party.
- 8:36Speaker 8: It's awesome.
- 8:37Speaker 4: And I was one of them, and only because that
- 8:39Speaker 4: they brought me to talk to a client. So I
- 8:42Speaker 4: had to go to Vegas to do some client talk
- 8:44Speaker 4: and they were there too. I guess they were doing
- 8:46Speaker 4: some client stuff too, and I was like, what up?
- 8:48Speaker 4: What up? They didn't know who I was, and so
- 8:50Speaker 4: I tried to act like I knew who they were
- 8:51Speaker 4: at first, all right, because you want to be on
- 8:52Speaker 4: equal footing. Yeah, I'm sorry, what do you guys do? Yeah? Hey,
- 8:55Speaker 4: what's your name again, Susan? So I knew who they
- 8:59Speaker 4: were idiately, super Bird, you know, GREATWNBA player, one of
- 9:03Speaker 4: the greatest ever. Yeah, Megan Pino Olympic gold medal soccer player. Absolutely,
- 9:07Speaker 4: and so I played it cool, but they were super nice.
- 9:09Speaker 4: And I'm doing a panel on women's sports with Sue
- 9:13Speaker 4: Bird and I'm the only dude on it. There's actually
- 9:16Speaker 4: a meeting at one o'clock today to go over what
- 9:18Speaker 4: we're talking about, and I can't. I'm not gonna be
- 9:19Speaker 4: on it. I don't want to show my cards.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Right right right, because I'm like Kaitlyn Clark. You guys,
- 9:25Speaker 2: I was gonna ask, you're gonna go on a rent?
- 9:26Speaker 4: I don't know, depends. I don't know what super Bird
- 9:28Speaker 4: statements have been. I cantlin Clark so far.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Oh yeah, So.
- 9:33Speaker 7: That's not to say anything then, but that's not always
- 9:35Speaker 7: how I worked out.
- 9:36Speaker 4: Yeah, however, I think it's pretty cool and we're doing
- 9:40Speaker 4: it in France. The panel I have to leave here
- 9:45Speaker 4: on the beach, so fun fact I leave today to
- 9:48Speaker 4: go to France. Don't really want to go. I'll be
- 9:51Speaker 4: honest with you. It's not that I don't with it.
- 9:53Speaker 4: It's not that I don't want to go France. Dude, dude,
- 9:56Speaker 4: if I read you my schedule for what I have
- 9:58Speaker 4: to do, I land and I work, let's see you
- 10:00Speaker 4: read it. Okay, thanks for asking. Hold on, um, stand by.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Okay, we can skip the whole plane part. We know
- 10:15Speaker 2: that you're flying and all that.
- 10:16Speaker 4: Okay, ready for this. This is my weekend schedule. I land,
- 10:20Speaker 4: I get to work. Here we go.
- 10:21Speaker 2: What you don't have to say that just you land?
- 10:23Speaker 2: What's first thing?
- 10:24Speaker 4: Go to bed? That's basically that's not work.
- 10:26Speaker 2: That's nice.
- 10:27Speaker 4: Next, here we go in the morning, nine fifty your
- 10:30Speaker 4: new daily habit. It's podcasters. It's me and somebody else
- 10:34Speaker 4: talking to brands and talking about how collaborations are becoming essential.
- 10:39Speaker 4: So I've got to lead a panel on that.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Do you know anything about that?
- 10:41Speaker 4: Nope, don't even know what that is. Time. I just
- 10:43Speaker 4: know my calendar was blocked down at eleven thirty to noon,
- 10:48Speaker 4: client meeting United Airlines. This is in France. Everybody goes
- 10:52Speaker 4: for some sort of international Convention two to two forty five.
- 10:56Speaker 4: A meeting with Meta which is Facebook. Yah yah, three
- 11:00Speaker 4: to four. Bank of America meeting four to four thirty.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Is this that personal?
- 11:05Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 11:05Speaker 2: Bank of America? Like you're talking about your checking account?
- 11:08Speaker 4: What you no think it's me? What we talking about
- 11:09Speaker 4: one of my bankers? I think it's like the people,
- 11:12Speaker 4: the the advertising part of it. Wow, it's out there. Okay,
- 11:17Speaker 4: four to four thirty A T and T four to
- 11:20Speaker 4: what four to four thirty pm? Okay they say eight
- 11:22Speaker 4: thirty eight, No, No, four thirty to five. Mars Parker, Parker,
- 11:29Speaker 4: were you trying to be French there?
- 11:30Speaker 2: Parquer?
- 11:31Speaker 4: It's spelled p r cr e.
- 11:33Speaker 8: Oh.
- 11:33Speaker 2: I guess I don't know.
- 11:34Speaker 4: And maybe they spelled it wrong.
- 11:35Speaker 2: That's a that's a French dude.
- 11:36Speaker 4: Then I don't know what that is? Reck a client meeting?
- 11:39Speaker 4: Wreck it?
- 11:40Speaker 2: What time is that I've not already at six pm?
- 11:43Speaker 4: Exactly six to seven A toast to my culture of
- 11:46Speaker 4: podcast network.
- 11:47Speaker 2: That's easy here here, I toe.
- 11:49Speaker 4: No, it's not a it's like a thing. It's me
- 11:51Speaker 4: and Wilder Valderrama. Oh, that met him in Vegas. Yes.
- 11:55Speaker 4: And then so the day started at nine forty five
- 11:58Speaker 4: and it's now seven pm. Oh my goodness, and there's
- 12:01Speaker 4: thirty minutes in there for lunch. But it's one meeting
- 12:03Speaker 4: to the next, or me speaking, this is the first
- 12:05Speaker 4: day of it. And then there's some party from ten
- 12:08Speaker 4: pm to two am that's supposed to be at I'm
- 12:10Speaker 4: gonna tell you right now, I'm probably not gonna be
- 12:12Speaker 4: there unless they're like, you have to go, but I
- 12:15Speaker 4: don't even I'm happy to go, but I wasn't like
- 12:18Speaker 4: I want to go. They called and said, will you
- 12:21Speaker 4: please get on a plane after the show fly to
- 12:23Speaker 4: France and I fly here to Philadelphia and I'm not complaining.
- 12:28Speaker 2: But I am Philadelphia, France, Pennsylvania.
- 12:30Speaker 4: And then there's a NonStop from Philadelphia to Nice, France
- 12:35Speaker 4: and you drive down to cans So the next day, ready.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Yeah, where's the tour Is there a tour bus in there? Anywhere?
- 12:42Speaker 4: Nothing? Nine thirty am. I'm speaking to advertisers about where
- 12:49Speaker 4: real influence happens. Okay, after that, public's health or publicists health.
- 12:57Speaker 4: I don't know what that is. I'm meeting there after
- 12:59Speaker 4: that with wayfair lunch. They do have lunch.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Good because yes, because the first day you don't have lunch.
- 13:06Speaker 4: Well, there's just a blank thirty minutes that doesn't say
- 13:08Speaker 4: lunch though. And then I get on the panel deep
- 13:11Speaker 4: Blue Sports Villa Women's Sports Audio Network moment and panel
- 13:14Speaker 4: is that super Bird? It's Superbird and some other folks
- 13:16Speaker 4: nice yep, Lunch, two other client meetings, and then at
- 13:22Speaker 4: eight thirty pm dinner break, get this media link at
- 13:27Speaker 4: hotel do cop with a performance by Lenny Kravitz, deck
- 13:31Speaker 4: in friv performs by Lenny Kravitz. And then there is
- 13:34Speaker 4: a midnight to two am deal which I probably won't
- 13:37Speaker 4: go to. And then I got on a flight come home.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that's a lot of work.
- 13:41Speaker 4: No croissant's, no time for a single crossan.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Nothing, no French press coffee. Nothing does the change American
- 13:47Speaker 2: women to French women. That's funny, Mike French woman.
- 13:53Speaker 4: Oh, Lenny, good French woman. That's a good one. Thank so.
- 14:00Speaker 4: That's why that's.
- 14:01Speaker 2: What's up, DINGD. No sight seeing for you.
- 14:04Speaker 4: And I am very fortunate. But it doesn't mean Now
- 14:09Speaker 4: it's just a lot. It's a long flight. It's like
- 14:11Speaker 4: I'll have to fly here to l A and l
- 14:12Speaker 4: A to back to have a meeting. It's in the
- 14:14Speaker 4: same flight, So you're going to go do that?
- 14:18Speaker 2: Where is like, are you going to go on a
- 14:20Speaker 2: boat or anything, any of those panels out at sea?
- 14:23Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 14:23Speaker 8: On a yacht.
- 14:25Speaker 4: No, the yacht that they usually do these meetings on
- 14:27Speaker 4: is in the shop apparently, wow, which is okay to
- 14:30Speaker 4: me because I don't want to be I get boat sick.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Oh that'd be bad. Okay, but good luck man.
- 14:36Speaker 6: Yeah, not fun.
- 14:36Speaker 4: Richeyson cancel, Okay. Le Clark's awesome. I gotta fly to
- 14:39Speaker 4: France and back, like I'm freaking driving downtown and back.
- 14:43Speaker 4: But it's good. But it's just difficult on the old body,
- 14:45Speaker 4: you know. And then I'll come back and next week
- 14:47Speaker 4: we're back at it again.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Here, back to the grind.
- 14:51Speaker 4: Yeah, thank you, tittle tattle. Let's go name the tattle tattle.
- 15:02Speaker 7: Following the announcement of Joey chest not being banned from
- 15:05Speaker 7: the Hot Dog Eating Contest, if you're to enter a
- 15:07Speaker 7: contest eating.
- 15:08Speaker 6: Food, what would the food be?
- 15:09Speaker 4: The Joey chest out thing's weird to me because now
- 15:11Speaker 4: he's doing the special with Kobyashi on Netflix Eating Challenge.
- 15:14Speaker 4: So is he still out of the Nathans or was
- 15:16Speaker 4: that all just publicity get people to watch the Netflix special.
- 15:18Speaker 7: As of now, he's still out because he's got a
- 15:20Speaker 7: partnership with a vegan dog company.
- 15:23Speaker 4: Or's tofu dogs.
- 15:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:25Speaker 4: So at the same time, I do believe they were
- 15:28Speaker 4: making that a bigger deal because of the Netflix special. Yes,
- 15:31Speaker 4: him versus Kobyashi okay Abe watermelon, I ate probably a
- 15:35Speaker 4: pound a day. Yeah, at least I was off for
- 15:38Speaker 4: a while. I'm back. That's a lot of water bag baby.
- 15:41Speaker 4: I know. I act like it's to hydrate me, and
- 15:44Speaker 4: my wife's like, okay, just drin waterman. But I eat
- 15:46Speaker 4: watermelon like crazy. I could eat a bunch of watermelon.
- 15:50Speaker 4: I even have it down to where I can put
- 15:51Speaker 4: it on the mount to my teeth. Yeah, and so
- 15:54Speaker 4: I wouldn't. I don't choke on it. You know how
- 15:56Speaker 4: they wet their dogs. I grind my watermelon.
- 16:00Speaker 6: You suck it through your teeth.
- 16:01Speaker 4: I can some of it. It just depends. I don't
- 16:03Speaker 4: want to choke on it. Et a lot of watermelon interest.
- 16:05Speaker 4: I hate the seeds though. I hate seeds. To get seedless,
- 16:08Speaker 4: I do for the most part, but even seedless still
- 16:10Speaker 4: has some of the white seeds in it.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Oh yeah, they can't.
- 16:13Speaker 4: Pull them all out, dude.
- 16:14Speaker 2: But there's something about eating a watermelon. Then then.
- 16:18Speaker 4: I like to freely go. I like to just go hard.
- 16:21Speaker 4: I don't like to be worried about seeds, so I
- 16:23Speaker 4: go watermelon. And then I guess, since we don't get
- 16:27Speaker 4: Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, we get Kobyoshi.
- 16:29Speaker 7: And yeah, you're gonna watch that chestnut? What the chestnut
- 16:32Speaker 7: and Kobyoshi?
- 16:33Speaker 8: Right now?
- 16:33Speaker 4: I'm not that interested in it. The only reason I
- 16:35Speaker 4: even think it or care about is because he got
- 16:37Speaker 4: supposedly kicked out of the other one. It was a
- 16:39Speaker 4: great pr move to be like, he's not going, but
- 16:42Speaker 4: this is happening a plus to them, or we wouldn't
- 16:44Speaker 4: even talk about it.
- 16:45Speaker 7: All right, next up, all right, After turning down his
- 16:47Speaker 7: offer with the Lakers, do you think Dan Hurley flirted
- 16:49Speaker 7: with that just to use his leverage?
- 16:51Speaker 4: I mean, I don't. He has all the leverage he
- 16:54Speaker 4: was offered the Kentucky job, didn't want it, was offered
- 16:57Speaker 4: a bunch of money, didn't use that for leverage, And
- 16:59Speaker 4: definitely if he just won leverage he could have. I
- 17:01Speaker 4: think Kentucky was offering him more money than the six
- 17:03Speaker 4: year seventy million that the Lakers were offering him. So no,
- 17:08Speaker 4: I don't think it was leverage because he already could
- 17:09Speaker 4: have done that and he didn't. Yukon I supposedly ordered
- 17:13Speaker 4: him or offered him like a six year, fifty million
- 17:15Speaker 4: dollars deal. But I think he likes being at Yukon.
- 17:19Speaker 4: He's an East Coast guy. His wife's from New Jersey
- 17:21Speaker 4: or something that that.
- 17:22Speaker 2: Fan of his dad coach Yukon.
- 17:25Speaker 4: No, his dad's a high school coach.
- 17:27Speaker 2: I oh, okay, how long has he been at Connecticut?
- 17:32Speaker 4: I don't know, six seven years? If I were guessing,
- 17:35Speaker 4: I do not know the answer to that. And he's
- 17:36Speaker 4: won two back to back national championships, and to me,
- 17:39Speaker 4: it didn't get famous. He was one of the hurlies
- 17:40Speaker 4: until they started to really win again. But I don't
- 17:43Speaker 4: know the answer to that. But I bet you watched
- 17:45Speaker 4: my Kevin's fingers. We're gonna have the answer soon. It
- 17:48Speaker 4: is what was your guest six or seven years?
- 17:50Speaker 8: Six?
- 17:50Speaker 2: Yeah? Pretty good?
- 17:51Speaker 4: Didn't know, just guessed.
- 17:53Speaker 7: Next up with Aaron Rodgers skipping Mini Camp, are you
- 17:55Speaker 7: concerned about his commitment?
- 17:58Speaker 4: I would have him skip every camp, I would say,
- 17:59Speaker 4: do dude, here's what I want you to do. I
- 18:01Speaker 4: got your bean bag chair, sit on it, do some crunches,
- 18:05Speaker 4: but don't move. Yeah, because you don't want anything ripping.
- 18:08Speaker 4: Play it cool, buddy, Yeah, and we'll see it practice first. No,
- 18:11Speaker 4: he's old. He doesn't need to be a mini camp.
- 18:14Speaker 4: Even if you're worried about it like that. What about
- 18:15Speaker 4: him and the receiver, isn't it? They'll be fine. I'd
- 18:17Speaker 4: rather him have to figure that out than have another
- 18:20Speaker 4: ripped anything. And so I hope that Roger says healthy
- 18:25Speaker 4: and the Jets are pretty good. That's funny he is
- 18:28Speaker 4: right now?
- 18:28Speaker 6: Yeah, because he said it was.
- 18:29Speaker 4: France went for me.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Oh, that'd be cool.
- 18:31Speaker 6: He's on the panel.
- 18:33Speaker 2: He's fixing the boat, trying to fix the boat.
- 18:35Speaker 4: Or the women's sports panel.
- 18:37Speaker 6: That would be interesting.
- 18:39Speaker 4: I don't know. I mean probably California.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Away from football, he said, yeah. But does he wants
- 18:44Speaker 2: to take his mind off football?
- 18:46Speaker 4: I get that right now. I bet he's still working
- 18:48Speaker 4: out and throwing, because you don't want to go from
- 18:50Speaker 4: not playing at all or having an offseason not being
- 18:55Speaker 4: at least like doing padless workouts with some local college.
- 18:59Speaker 4: You guys, I bet he working on stuff I bet
- 19:02Speaker 4: we'd love that guy, like we got to spend time with.
- 19:04Speaker 4: I don't think I would like him at all. I
- 19:06Speaker 4: like him, I like him as a player. He entertains
- 19:08Speaker 4: the crap out of me. Yeah, but he it feels
- 19:11Speaker 4: like he thinks he knows everything. And that's two of us,
- 19:13Speaker 4: and we would not There's two of us, and I
- 19:16Speaker 4: don't like that. Itybe be a constant challenge for both
- 19:19Speaker 4: of us.
- 19:19Speaker 6: It would be an entertaining podcast.
- 19:20Speaker 4: It would not just fighting the whole time each other.
- 19:23Speaker 7: All right after fouling out and his lack of defense
- 19:26Speaker 7: being a big storyline is the criticism of Luca fair
- 19:29Speaker 7: or foul.
- 19:29Speaker 4: You know he fouled out Game three, that he's trying
- 19:31Speaker 4: to take a charge that fault. I think anything's fair.
- 19:35Speaker 4: Because he complains a lot makes himself a target. I
- 19:40Speaker 4: you know what, I've been betting lots of money on
- 19:42Speaker 4: the games. Maybe you do well. So last night I
- 19:45Speaker 4: looked at it and the game had just started and
- 19:47Speaker 4: I was like, I missed my shot. But I was like,
- 19:49Speaker 4: you know what, I'm gonna switch it up. And I
- 19:51Speaker 4: put five hundred bucks last night on the Mavericks plus
- 19:54Speaker 4: one and a half. Oh Man or two nights ago. Yeah,
- 19:57Speaker 4: and they lost this all lost another five hundred buck.
- 19:59Speaker 4: I enough, so it spread in the news. I've lost
- 20:02Speaker 4: like two grand twenty one hundred bucks so far in
- 20:05Speaker 4: the series.
- 20:05Speaker 7: You haven't taken the Celtics once, No, man, because it's
- 20:10Speaker 7: why I don't bet black and Roulette, just because I've
- 20:12Speaker 7: picked red and I don't want to pick black once
- 20:15Speaker 7: and it'd be like, well it was red, And if
- 20:16Speaker 7: I was a black guy, I would never pick red, yeah,
- 20:19Speaker 7: because then he just bouncing back and forth with no,
- 20:21Speaker 7: I'm holding.
- 20:22Speaker 4: Firm, Okay, I never I don't even pick black numbers,
- 20:26Speaker 4: and I don't know. Red's my favorite color, So that's why.
- 20:28Speaker 4: But if I were a black better, I also would
- 20:30Speaker 4: never pick red or red numbers because I never want
- 20:33Speaker 4: to be like, oh, if I had just done what
- 20:34Speaker 4: I was always doing, then I would have hood interesting.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Red always hits man the easiest game in the world. Yeah,
- 20:41Speaker 2: it's over, it's over, it's done, let's go, it's done. Yeah.
- 20:45Speaker 4: And like porzingis like tor some muscle I didn't even
- 20:49Speaker 4: know I had, and he's out. It was that game
- 20:51Speaker 4: three and why would they even bring him back?
- 20:54Speaker 7: Yeah, he's definitely not playing. I don't think tonight game four.
- 20:57Speaker 4: No, even if he was healthy, even he was kind
- 20:59Speaker 4: of hell, no way, no, you don't need them. I
- 21:01Speaker 4: won't even bring five. If something, it gets to game
- 21:03Speaker 4: six and he's healthy, then you start to go okay, cool.
- 21:06Speaker 4: But porzingis thanking for your service. You got two games
- 21:09Speaker 4: out of you, Bo, you made it happen. That is
- 21:11Speaker 4: the tittle tattle.
- 21:13Speaker 8: Stupid his name.
- 21:15Speaker 4: The tittle tattle with giup? Are this a fun interview?
- 21:26Speaker 4: Book shamby the voice of Everything Cubs College Basketball, ESPN
- 21:33Speaker 4: Sunday Night Baseball video. We talked about it here. I'm like, man,
- 21:35Speaker 4: how many jobs you have? But he's done it all
- 21:37Speaker 4: a really interesting story. I enjoyed this a lot. I'm
- 21:41Speaker 4: also a big Cubs fan, so here he is book
- 21:43Speaker 4: shamby Hey, book what's up.
- 21:44Speaker 8: Man, Bobby? What's happening? Man?
- 21:46Speaker 4: Good to see you. Listen, Like, I know what you
- 21:49Speaker 4: do from what I see you do because I'm a
- 21:50Speaker 4: massive Cubs fan. But I had no idea you're like
- 21:53Speaker 4: a array of jobs, just in general, Like, how many
- 21:58Speaker 4: jobs do you have right now?
- 22:00Speaker 9: I mean I do the Cubs and then I do
- 22:03Speaker 9: Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN Radio, and then I'm the
- 22:06Speaker 9: voice for ESPN the national voice of the baseball Playoffs,
- 22:12Speaker 9: so I get to call the World Series. That I
- 22:14Speaker 9: do college basketball on TV pre ESPN, and then I'm
- 22:18Speaker 9: the voice for MLB to show for Sony the video game.
- 22:22Speaker 4: People often say to me, like when do you sleep?
- 22:24Speaker 4: I get to do this to somebody else. I feel
- 22:27Speaker 4: like you're always going. Is your calendar such an important
- 22:30Speaker 4: part of your life?
- 22:32Speaker 8: It is?
- 22:32Speaker 9: And then I think, probably you connect on this. There's
- 22:35Speaker 9: times where you just don't want to look at it.
- 22:37Speaker 9: I mean, you do. You have to organize it. It's funny,
- 22:40Speaker 9: I was just having a conversation with someone. There's also
- 22:42Speaker 9: just kind of honoring. You got to get some sleep
- 22:45Speaker 9: at times, and sometimes you know a meeting needs to
- 22:49Speaker 9: be pushed or postponed, and sometimes a workout does just
- 22:53Speaker 9: to make sure because I can't do what I need
- 22:56Speaker 9: to do on no rest.
- 22:57Speaker 8: That would be That's one of the things.
- 22:59Speaker 4: And yeah, same, it's like if I don't sleep, if
- 23:03Speaker 4: I'm touring or even the radio show, if I don't sleep,
- 23:05Speaker 4: like my voice shot and like I'll lose it or
- 23:09Speaker 4: allergy season, Like what are You've got to main, you
- 23:12Speaker 4: have a better voice than I do. My voice sucks.
- 23:13Speaker 4: If I had your voice, I would never be doing this.
- 23:14Speaker 4: I'll be doing what you're doing. Uh, what are you doing?
- 23:17Speaker 4: Will you do steroid shots? If like you're down, because
- 23:20Speaker 4: you got to keep that voice going.
- 23:21Speaker 9: So now, for me, I thankfully have not had issues
- 23:27Speaker 9: with my voice. So it is not so much that
- 23:30Speaker 9: my voice gets tired. It's that, especially baseball, with the
- 23:35Speaker 9: amount of space that there is to fill, you're making
- 23:39Speaker 9: content choices, so it's brain to mouth. So I would say,
- 23:43Speaker 9: more than anything, I'm mentally tired.
- 23:46Speaker 8: It's not.
- 23:47Speaker 9: I mean, my voice gets tired, sure, but I find
- 23:50Speaker 9: more than anything, just the concentration level, you know, like
- 23:54Speaker 9: one of the things that's cool about baseball when you're
- 23:56Speaker 9: doing play by play that you know, as I've gotten
- 23:59Speaker 9: older and gotten whatever, more spiritual. But it's kind of
- 24:03Speaker 9: a mindfulness exercise. I can't describe and be present and
- 24:07Speaker 9: engage my partner and then engage the conversation in the
- 24:11Speaker 9: back of my head of did I leave the coffee
- 24:14Speaker 9: machine on that I close the garage door, and that's
- 24:17Speaker 9: a blessing, right, But I yeah, but it's still can
- 24:22Speaker 9: at times like you can get worn down and just
- 24:26Speaker 9: what comes out you say stupid stuff is what ends
- 24:28Speaker 9: up happening because your brain starts to slow down. So
- 24:31Speaker 9: that's more the way that I experienced the fatigue, not
- 24:35Speaker 9: quite as much with my voice.
- 24:37Speaker 4: I was with Zach Brown, Zach Brown band singer a
- 24:40Speaker 4: couple of weeks, agoes over the house and we're talking
- 24:42Speaker 4: about because again, if you have to, I get brain
- 24:44Speaker 4: foged too. If I don't sleep brain fog I can't
- 24:46Speaker 4: be funny. And some people think I'm not funny anyway,
- 24:48Speaker 4: but I can't be quick witted if my brain same
- 24:51Speaker 4: thing when you're calling any sort of situation. But he
- 24:53Speaker 4: was talking about his voice, and he will pee in
- 24:55Speaker 4: a bucket because if he wakes up in the middle
- 24:57Speaker 4: of the night, it breaks up his sleep. The bucket
- 25:00Speaker 4: next to his bed and he just PE's in the bucket,
- 25:03Speaker 4: closes the bucket, and goes back to sleep. Now that's dedication.
- 25:06Speaker 9: Wow, I connect on that in terms of that sometimes
- 25:11Speaker 9: getting up to go to the bathroom can disrupt my sleep.
- 25:14Speaker 4: So let's send you a bucket booth.
- 25:17Speaker 9: So yeah, I mean, I was just about to say
- 25:18Speaker 9: I'm gonna be on Amazon looking for after this.
- 25:21Speaker 4: Okay, I have some generic baseball, but first I talk
- 25:24Speaker 4: about the Cobs, Like, what in the crap man? We
- 25:26Speaker 4: went from honestly, we I feel like I planned the team.
- 25:29Speaker 4: We went from you know, five, six over eight over.
- 25:33Speaker 4: Uh we can't hit now, it seems, and now are
- 25:35Speaker 4: we selling at the trade deadline instead of like what
- 25:37Speaker 4: is happening?
- 25:39Speaker 9: It's been a pretty significant turn of events. The first
- 25:41Speaker 9: month of the season, things were going great and it
- 25:45Speaker 9: looked like, you know, this was one of the you know,
- 25:48Speaker 9: more powerful teams in the National League. Since then, I
- 25:51Speaker 9: would say that the starting point to the answer to
- 25:53Speaker 9: your question is it's just the way a baseball season works, right,
- 25:57Speaker 9: whether it's a team or a player. Nope, player that
- 26:00Speaker 9: hits two eighty hits two eighty and April to eighty
- 26:03Speaker 9: and May to eighty, in June to eighty. In July
- 26:06Speaker 9: they hit three hundred, two twenty one, ninety five, four hundred.
- 26:11Speaker 9: So what I would tell you, in my opinion is
- 26:14Speaker 9: this team will start to hit again. I do believe
- 26:17Speaker 9: that I think they have good starting pitching. There's one
- 26:20Speaker 9: area that's been disappointing. Their defense has been really, really subpar,
- 26:25Speaker 9: and I thought it would be an elite level defense.
- 26:28Speaker 9: I do think if there's one area that they have
- 26:30Speaker 9: to fix, as the bullpen, I don't think when totally healthy,
- 26:34Speaker 9: I don't think that the bullpen is good enough. And
- 26:37Speaker 9: that's been where Craig Council just you have guys pitching
- 26:41Speaker 9: in higher leverage.
- 26:42Speaker 8: Situations than they should be.
- 26:44Speaker 9: So the other thing where did it start the confluence
- 26:47Speaker 9: of events was say a Suzuki getting hurt, Cody Bellinger
- 26:50Speaker 9: getting hurt. So they're their two best hitters and they
- 26:53Speaker 9: go out and then slowly the trickle effect happens, and
- 26:57Speaker 9: then Swanson wasn't swinging well, He's been better. So I
- 27:02Speaker 9: also don't think the central is that good, so I
- 27:05Speaker 9: take a more optimistic view. I don't think they'll be
- 27:10Speaker 9: sellers at the deadline, but I'm not going to put
- 27:13Speaker 9: that at zero percent chance.
- 27:15Speaker 4: You feel like Council shaped reshaped the culture.
- 27:17Speaker 9: There, Yeah, I mean it's it's it's hard because I
- 27:21Speaker 9: know I know both you know both guys very well.
- 27:26Speaker 9: I mean, David Ross a good friend. I worked with
- 27:28Speaker 9: him for three years at ESPN. I met him with
- 27:30Speaker 9: the Braves back in two thousand and nine when I
- 27:33Speaker 9: was a play by play guy on TV for the
- 27:35Speaker 9: Atlanta Braves. Craig I've known since nineteen ninety seven when
- 27:40Speaker 9: we were both in our first year, him as a
- 27:42Speaker 9: player on the ninety seven Marlins and I was a broadcaster,
- 27:45Speaker 9: So we go back a long way.
- 27:48Speaker 8: He's special. He is.
- 27:50Speaker 9: I will say that, you know, the thing that he
- 27:53Speaker 9: really has is the ability to connect with the front office.
- 27:58Speaker 9: So they've been more rest of with roster moves, and
- 28:03Speaker 9: I think they'll continue to be so. And I he
- 28:06Speaker 9: has he has a very modern, uh look at things,
- 28:11Speaker 9: and I think, look, I would tell you this, I
- 28:13Speaker 9: don't think manager was a problem, and I don't think
- 28:16Speaker 9: that that's the way they viewed it. I think they
- 28:19Speaker 9: viewed that they were going to try to get their
- 28:21Speaker 9: hands on who they viewed as the best or one
- 28:25Speaker 9: of the couple best managers in the game. And I
- 28:28Speaker 9: think most people around it would say they noticed the impact.
- 28:31Speaker 4: Did he have to move houses? I came from Milwaukee,
- 28:33Speaker 4: but we have college friend coaches that that they just
- 28:36Speaker 4: moved schools that were closed, Like did he have to move?
- 28:39Speaker 5: No?
- 28:39Speaker 9: I mean his youngest daughter is uh is going into
- 28:43Speaker 9: her sophomore year a high school. So they stayed in
- 28:47Speaker 9: you know, Whitefish Bay in uh in Milwaukee. He has
- 28:51Speaker 9: a house that he rents in Chicago. But you know,
- 28:55Speaker 9: it's nice because it's close because his you know, it's
- 28:57Speaker 9: four kids, uh, two boys that play college baseball, one
- 29:02Speaker 9: at Minnesota and is draft eligible and the other one
- 29:05Speaker 9: just transferred from Michigan to Northwestern so and then Finley's
- 29:09Speaker 9: heading to the University of Arizona. So he's they're all close,
- 29:13Speaker 9: which is nice for him. And yeah, I mean, you know,
- 29:18Speaker 9: for where he lives, it's probably a you know, hour
- 29:20Speaker 9: forty minute drive.
- 29:22Speaker 4: So this may be a two in the weeds question.
- 29:25Speaker 4: But with the pitch clock, and I'm not even talking
- 29:27Speaker 4: about what it does to the pitchers, it makes the
- 29:29Speaker 4: game more fun for me. But as a broadcaster, as
- 29:33Speaker 4: someone who's had to fill time in between pitches and
- 29:35Speaker 4: now it's quicker. Is that a different approach to the
- 29:40Speaker 4: game now because it's moving faster.
- 29:43Speaker 9: It was a quick adjustment, by the way, I'm down
- 29:46Speaker 9: to going the weeds.
- 29:48Speaker 8: I'm in on the question.
- 29:50Speaker 9: I would just tell you that when I first started,
- 29:54Speaker 9: this is what it was like.
- 29:55Speaker 8: So it's just kind of.
- 29:57Speaker 9: You know, rechanneling the way you were lely did it
- 30:01Speaker 9: you know, there's about a seven year stretch before the
- 30:03Speaker 9: pitch clock where it was pretty bad in terms of
- 30:05Speaker 9: the three main things, and that was the ball wasn't
- 30:08Speaker 9: in play enough, time between pitches was too long, and
- 30:14Speaker 9: the games were too long, and you and how you
- 30:16Speaker 9: say that in one sentence, it's taking too long for
- 30:18Speaker 9: nothing to happen. So I think that the pitch clock
- 30:23Speaker 9: has been good for a broadcaster. Yes, there's times where
- 30:27Speaker 9: it's I've had to now it's it's pretty natural. But
- 30:32Speaker 9: it's just more going back to you know what it was.
- 30:35Speaker 9: I would say this, I think for you know, a
- 30:37Speaker 9: long stretch, a three man booth is fine in baseball.
- 30:41Speaker 9: I think it's a lot harder now to have three
- 30:42Speaker 9: three voices because of the pitch clock, because there just
- 30:45Speaker 9: isn't the space.
- 30:47Speaker 4: With all the stats that you have now in stag
- 30:50Speaker 4: and is there a line that you want to walk
- 30:53Speaker 4: where you get some of them on but you don't
- 30:55Speaker 4: want to go two numbers all the time because it
- 30:57Speaker 4: may as overwhelm people.
- 30:59Speaker 8: For sure.
- 31:00Speaker 9: I mean I want it look part of my job.
- 31:03Speaker 9: I feel like I'm trying to deliver interesting and I'll
- 31:08Speaker 9: you know, make the choices. But yeah, you don't want
- 31:12Speaker 9: to turn it into math class. That's that's for that's
- 31:15Speaker 9: for sure. So you walk that line of trying. I
- 31:19Speaker 9: sort of pride myself on making some of that stuff digestible.
- 31:23Speaker 9: I would say this to you, I don't want to
- 31:26Speaker 9: turn it into math class, and I don't want to
- 31:28Speaker 9: overwhelm full stop. That said, if a modern front office
- 31:35Speaker 9: is evaluating players in a certain way, it's kind of
- 31:39Speaker 9: our responsibility to let the audience know how they're doing it,
- 31:42Speaker 9: you know, Like I've told stories where you know, I
- 31:45Speaker 9: texted Jed Hoyer in the middle of a game and
- 31:48Speaker 9: I asked him, do you know who leads our team
- 31:50Speaker 9: in RBIs? And he guessed them he was wrong, and
- 31:52Speaker 9: then our assistant GM guessed.
- 31:54Speaker 8: Him he was wrong, you know.
- 31:55Speaker 9: I like in the middle of a conversation too with
- 32:00Speaker 9: the Guardians general manager Mike Chernoff, and he was talking
- 32:04Speaker 9: when Aaron Savali pitched for them, and he was and
- 32:06Speaker 9: he stopped himself in the middle and he said, wait,
- 32:08Speaker 9: he's got a lot of a lot of wins, doesn't
- 32:11Speaker 9: he And he was leading the American League in wins.
- 32:12Speaker 9: And again I said, Cherney, will you let me tell
- 32:14Speaker 9: that story on the air, because so do you understand
- 32:18Speaker 9: my point that, like I don't want to turn it
- 32:19Speaker 9: into math class and get it too dorky. However, you know,
- 32:22Speaker 9: if everybody's sitting at home doing RBIs and Pitcher wins
- 32:26Speaker 9: and they're not paying attention to him, like your reality
- 32:29Speaker 9: of why you think X guy is good or how
- 32:32Speaker 9: you're evaluating a player is not what's happening.
- 32:35Speaker 4: I had two final questions for you. One is you
- 32:39Speaker 4: when you were a kid, who was that team for you? Again,
- 32:41Speaker 4: mine was, you know, Grace of first, Samberg a second,
- 32:44Speaker 4: Sean Dunstan. I could get you know, you do the
- 32:46Speaker 4: whole Who was that for you? What team was that?
- 32:49Speaker 8: It was the Philadelphia Phillies.
- 32:50Speaker 9: It was Mike Schmid at third base, Larry Bowach short
- 32:53Speaker 9: Manny Trio at second, and Pete Rose at first when
- 32:55Speaker 9: they won in nineteen eighty.
- 32:59Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 32:59Speaker 9: I love the Philly's as a kid, I uh, And
- 33:02Speaker 9: I love baseball, And I think one of the things
- 33:04Speaker 9: I'm you know, I'm grateful for now is uh I
- 33:06Speaker 9: still love it the way I did as a you know,
- 33:09Speaker 9: as a six year old, I would say, but the Yeah,
- 33:12Speaker 9: the Phillies were my team. But now that it's just laundry,
- 33:14Speaker 9: and I it's the Cubs are personal for me. It's
- 33:18Speaker 9: just personal. So you know now it's it's shifted and
- 33:21Speaker 9: it's different, right.
- 33:23Speaker 4: Yes, And you get to be an adult and you
- 33:24Speaker 4: have friends that do things like play sports, like Matt
- 33:26Speaker 4: Holliday is a dear friend of mine. To play for
- 33:27Speaker 4: the Cardinals. I hated the Cardinals. I hated the freaking
- 33:29Speaker 4: Cardinals with all my life and so and the what
- 33:33Speaker 4: was tough for me was we got invited by the
- 33:34Speaker 4: Cardinals to go up and practice with them. We went
- 33:36Speaker 4: up a couple of weeks ago. We worked with Paul Goldschmidt. Uh,
- 33:40Speaker 4: it was hard. It was really hard for me to
- 33:42Speaker 4: put on the jersey and the hat. Although I was
- 33:43Speaker 4: very grateful and we had a wonderful time, But that
- 33:46Speaker 4: was a struggle for me. What would that team have
- 33:48Speaker 4: been for you? If they're like, hey, come up, but
- 33:51Speaker 4: you're like, oh, man, I don't know if I can so.
- 33:53Speaker 9: Because I work in the industry, it's a little bit different.
- 33:56Speaker 9: The thing that I will tell you I'm not like,
- 33:59Speaker 9: I'm not. I would tell you you're a die hard
- 34:02Speaker 9: Cubs fan. If I made you do some version of
- 34:07Speaker 9: this show where you were doing it as Cardinals centric
- 34:11Speaker 9: and you had to fly on the Cardinal plane for
- 34:13Speaker 9: the next four years. Bobby, I hate to tell you this,
- 34:16Speaker 9: but you'd root for the Cardinals.
- 34:18Speaker 4: I hear. I can't agree with that. I mean, I
- 34:21Speaker 4: can fake it, probably would.
- 34:22Speaker 8: I know, it's just personal. It's just laundry, dude.
- 34:27Speaker 9: Like I'm telling you, Like, at a certain point, you know,
- 34:29Speaker 9: it's like I grew up being a Phillies fan, and
- 34:31Speaker 9: and then the Marlins are fighting against the Phillies, and
- 34:35Speaker 9: like I'm sitting next to Mike Lowell, you know what
- 34:37Speaker 9: I mean, Like, and we're talking on the plane. So
- 34:41Speaker 9: it just it would take time. But I'm it's just
- 34:45Speaker 9: it's hard to it's hard to make people understand that
- 34:48Speaker 9: if you if you're in the Weeds, like and however
- 34:52Speaker 9: big your fandom is, it would become way more personal
- 34:55Speaker 9: than it is now.
- 34:57Speaker 4: Yeah, I hear. I think I would despy for my
- 34:59Speaker 4: own team. I'd be with the Arnold's, but I'd be
- 35:00Speaker 4: a secret spy feeding information back to the I would
- 35:03Speaker 4: root for Matt big time, play with the Cardinals, root
- 35:04Speaker 4: for him as a person. I have friends that would
- 35:06Speaker 4: like coach for the Longhorns. I hate Texas because I'm
- 35:08Speaker 4: from Arkansas, and I would root for them individually, but
- 35:12Speaker 4: that's tough.
- 35:13Speaker 9: You'd be Bobby Bone's dark ops for sure.
- 35:15Speaker 2: Yes.
- 35:17Speaker 4: And then final question for you here, but so one
- 35:20Speaker 4: hundred and sixty two games or however many games you're
- 35:23Speaker 4: doing plus back, do you ever just kind of forget
- 35:26Speaker 4: where you are? Like if tour sometimes I don't know
- 35:28Speaker 4: what city I'm in, If I'm like, oh man, does
- 35:30Speaker 4: that ever happen with you?
- 35:31Speaker 9: The two are hotel wise, that will probably happen five
- 35:36Speaker 9: or six times a year where legitimately I wake up
- 35:39Speaker 9: and I don't know where I am, and then the
- 35:41Speaker 9: other one is and this is real where I am
- 35:46Speaker 9: sleeping so hard on a plane, not in a lay
- 35:50Speaker 9: flat on a plane, so like in a seat, I'm
- 35:54Speaker 9: sleeping so hard and I think I'm in my bed.
- 35:59Speaker 4: That's wishing dreaming you were in your bed. Yeah, we
- 36:02Speaker 4: really really appreciate the time. You're the best, literally, you're
- 36:05Speaker 4: the best that does it. In my opinion, it just
- 36:07Speaker 4: what happens. You are with my favorite team and great
- 36:10Speaker 4: to talk to you. I appreciate the time.
- 36:12Speaker 8: Thanks for having me, brother, see what all right?
- 36:15Speaker 4: Thanks to Boog super cool. I'll get him on some
- 36:18Speaker 4: of the time. He text me right after that, he's like, hey,
- 36:19Speaker 4: mean that was fun?
- 36:20Speaker 2: Really, yeah, oh that's cool.
- 36:22Speaker 4: And I didn't book him, like I have a relationship
- 36:24Speaker 4: with him for something we've been working on together, but
- 36:25Speaker 4: I didn't book him. It was Lauren knew his nephew
- 36:30Speaker 4: or something or uncle and went to him and got
- 36:32Speaker 4: him that way because I was like, oh, Boog's on it,
- 36:34Speaker 4: and then I kind of felt bad. I was like, oh,
- 36:35Speaker 4: Kevin felt like he had a book Boog and didn't.
- 36:39Speaker 4: It was organic. It was awesome. Jerry West passes away
- 36:43Speaker 4: to eighty six years old. NBA legend Jerry West has
- 36:46Speaker 4: passed away. He was inducted in the Basketball Hall of
- 36:48Speaker 4: Fame three times as a player as an executive. How's
- 36:54Speaker 4: that three coach? I don't think he was. I don't
- 36:58Speaker 4: know how it was, but in three times, if it
- 37:00Speaker 4: was a player and an executive, even only a coach
- 37:03Speaker 4: for a little bit, and then he wasn't super successful
- 37:05Speaker 4: as a coach. He didn't do it for very long,
- 37:06Speaker 4: at least not according to that winning time on HBO.
- 37:09Speaker 2: You get one for being logo, man.
- 37:12Speaker 4: I don't think so. As a player, he was in
- 37:15Speaker 4: nine NBA Finals. He won one ring here in the
- 37:18Speaker 4: nickname Mister Clutch for his ability to boost his game
- 37:19Speaker 4: when it mattered most. When he retired, he was top
- 37:22Speaker 4: five in points, points per game, free throws, and assists.
- 37:25Speaker 4: He made the All Star team in every one of
- 37:27Speaker 4: his fourteen years in the league. He was the third
- 37:29Speaker 4: player to ever hit twenty five thousand points. As an executive,
- 37:32Speaker 4: he's credited for creating the Showtime Lakers with Magic and Kareem.
- 37:36Speaker 4: His biggest move was probably making all the phone calls
- 37:40Speaker 4: to get Kobe Bryant in the draft, Wow, and then
- 37:43Speaker 4: going to sign Shaquille O'Neill from Orlando. He also won
- 37:47Speaker 4: Executive the Year with the Memphis Grizzlies and later worked
- 37:50Speaker 4: with the Warriors and Clippers. He was awarded the Presidential
- 37:52Speaker 4: Medal of Freedom of twenty nineteen. And he is the
- 37:54Speaker 4: logo Man. He's that logo.
- 37:55Speaker 2: He is the logo Man, even though they won't admit it, right,
- 37:59Speaker 2: I think the league won't admit that that's him.
- 38:01Speaker 4: But that's true. They never officially say that they know
- 38:03Speaker 4: that it's him. Really well, everybody knows it's him. I
- 38:05Speaker 4: didn't know. They ever like formally said I.
- 38:07Speaker 6: Still have to pay him or something.
- 38:08Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 38:08Speaker 4: And now they're like, who do we make the new logo? Man,
- 38:11Speaker 4: you don't have to change anything. I know.
- 38:13Speaker 2: That's what it is. Yeah, leave it.
- 38:14Speaker 4: They're like, should it be Kobe? I'm like, well, Kobe's
- 38:16Speaker 4: dead too, So what's up?
- 38:17Speaker 2: What it was?
- 38:17Speaker 4: Right? If you're doing it because he died, we're gonna
- 38:19Speaker 4: pick somebody else dead, that's not good. You know, you
- 38:22Speaker 4: leave it. Yeah, it's a cool brand. That's when the
- 38:25Speaker 4: Sporting News something else that I saw. I was looking
- 38:27Speaker 4: at the high school baseball stats of some players that
- 38:30Speaker 4: are famous. Now I want to read you some stuff
- 38:32Speaker 4: here when they were in high school. His freshman year,
- 38:35Speaker 4: Bryce Harper batted five ninety oh my god, yeah, with
- 38:39Speaker 4: eleven home run sixty seven RBI. His sophomore year, Bryce
- 38:42Speaker 4: Harper badded six twenty six.
- 38:43Speaker 2: She's Louise. I mean that's when you know, like all
- 38:47Speaker 2: the scouts are on him.
- 38:48Speaker 4: Like nenth grade he batted six twenty six. That inane
- 38:51Speaker 4: Clayton Kershaw. He threw Highland Park from Yeahcu went to
- 38:56Speaker 4: school Matthew Safford, which we hear about every time they played. Yeah, yeah,
- 38:58Speaker 4: did you guys know he he threw a five inning
- 39:00Speaker 4: perfect game where he struck out all fifteen batters he faced,
- 39:03Speaker 4: threw five innings. They pulled him afterward because they were
- 39:05Speaker 4: winning so much, but he faced fifteen batters. He struck
- 39:07Speaker 4: out every batter all fifteen. He finished that season thirteen
- 39:10Speaker 4: to oh with a zero point seven ERA sixty four
- 39:13Speaker 4: innings pitched and one hundred and thirty nine strikeouts, so
- 39:16Speaker 4: over two an inning all year Waller Byron Buckston five
- 39:22Speaker 4: thirteen average. His senior year, he went ten to one.
- 39:25Speaker 4: Also as a pitcher with a one ERA. Washington pitcher
- 39:29Speaker 4: Mackenzie Gore eleven to O zero point one to nine ERA.
- 39:33Speaker 4: Mike Mustacks senior year five seventy seven average twenty four
- 39:37Speaker 4: home runs, which, by the way, they played like twenty
- 39:39Speaker 4: two games or something, right, He twenty four home runs.
- 39:42Speaker 2: It's crazy.
- 39:44Speaker 4: Marlins pitcher Ryan Weathers senior year ten and O a
- 39:47Speaker 4: zero point zero nine ERA, seventy six innings pitched, one
- 39:51Speaker 4: hundred and forty eight strikeouts.
- 39:53Speaker 2: Gosh, I bet you everyone on that team just loved him.
- 39:55Speaker 4: Carrie Woods senior year fourteen and O zero point seven.
- 40:00Speaker 4: I have an e r a eighty one innings pitch,
- 40:02Speaker 4: one hundred and fifty two strikeouts. I think of the
- 40:04Speaker 4: status from those bros. That's crazy.
- 40:07Speaker 2: Mookie Bets went to high school like right kind of
- 40:10Speaker 2: around you know, my neck of the woods really and
- 40:12Speaker 2: I drove by the that baseball stadium all the time
- 40:15Speaker 2: or whatever, and I'm like, gosh, it'd be cool to
- 40:17Speaker 2: see like Mookie Bets play there.
- 40:19Speaker 4: Hey, Mike, do we need to go to break or
- 40:21Speaker 4: are we going to We want to do our segment
- 40:22Speaker 4: now that we just recorded. That's about all of us
- 40:25Speaker 4: catching up online can go to break right now. Okay,
- 40:26Speaker 4: let's take a break on the radio show on the
- 40:31Speaker 4: Bobby Bone Show. And you know we mentioned this, but
- 40:34Speaker 4: read sings the new thing that we play, it's like
- 40:38Speaker 4: so quick up wick up, and it's just bizarre. Before
- 40:41Speaker 4: we play it, I would just like when Reid talks,
- 40:46Speaker 4: I'm Reid, and you know I have a lot of
- 40:49Speaker 4: thoughts about stuff, and so we talked. But then when
- 40:51Speaker 4: he's singing and he's like up hosiers, It's like he's
- 40:58Speaker 4: banging when he's singing, but when he's like not, he's
- 41:02Speaker 4: like lost.
- 41:03Speaker 2: Just how do I get here?
- 41:05Speaker 6: Where's my wallet?
- 41:07Speaker 4: Does that car drive? So it's just two different people. Mike,
- 41:11Speaker 4: do you have it? I have it? Okay, here it is.
- 41:12Speaker 4: Here's racing all right? Wake up, wake up in the mall.
- 41:18Speaker 10: And you turn the radio and the doves keeps on time?
- 41:24Speaker 10: Here and lunchbox more get cho Steve Bred have it
- 41:28Speaker 10: trying to put you through fog.
- 41:30Speaker 4: He's riding this wigs next bit. The Bobby's on the box,
- 41:33Speaker 4: so you know what this.
- 41:40Speaker 3: The Bobby ball.
- 41:42Speaker 4: Would have never known that was you? Bad lips was
- 41:46Speaker 4: the funnest part. Would you know? Would you have known
- 41:48Speaker 4: it was him? Katie?
- 41:49Speaker 3: No, I wouldn't have.
- 41:50Speaker 4: Are you sure that's you? Did you manipulate your voice
- 41:53Speaker 4: to make it? No?
- 41:54Speaker 1: I didn't.
- 41:54Speaker 4: I know I did.
- 41:55Speaker 1: I did a little bit of auto tune to like
- 41:57Speaker 1: punch it to the next level, but nothing cozy and sess.
- 42:00Speaker 4: Fine too, every but I'm saying, like, make it deeper?
- 42:03Speaker 2: How does he do that? Wake on? Work on in
- 42:06Speaker 2: the morning?
- 42:07Speaker 3: Right now?
- 42:08Speaker 4: Right stuff?
- 42:09Speaker 2: Do wake up? Wake up? Wake up in the mall.
- 42:14Speaker 6: It is on cue.
- 42:17Speaker 2: He's a star.
- 42:17Speaker 4: What are all the words? Let me say I let
- 42:19Speaker 4: with the words wake up, wake up in the morning,
- 42:22Speaker 4: Turn the radio on and your breakfast keeps on burning.
- 42:25Speaker 4: That's not it. Uh, turn the radio on and the
- 42:28Speaker 4: doll just keeps on turn Okay, so not not that
- 42:33Speaker 4: does that make sense? Turn the turn the radio on,
- 42:35Speaker 4: and the dial just keeps on turning. What does that mean?
- 42:37Speaker 1: Like like you're like you're scanning the channels, like you're
- 42:39Speaker 1: turning the radio.
- 42:39Speaker 2: It's like nineteen twenty.
- 42:40Speaker 4: Yeah, man, you got two of them exactly. Wake up,
- 42:44Speaker 4: wake up in the morning, Turn the radio on, and
- 42:47Speaker 4: the doll just keeps on turning, keeps You got Eddie
- 42:52Speaker 4: Amy lunchbox, Scuba.
- 42:53Speaker 1: Morgan too, got Eddie Amy, lunchbox Morgan to scoop of
- 42:58Speaker 1: Steve Bran, Abby's trying to put you through.
- 43:01Speaker 6: Trying to put you through.
- 43:03Speaker 4: I heard that, got it.
- 43:04Speaker 1: Mike's riding this week's best bit.
- 43:07Speaker 4: Oh best bit?
- 43:08Speaker 1: I thought it was next b It's best bet or
- 43:12Speaker 1: next bit?
- 43:12Speaker 2: Okay, okay.
- 43:13Speaker 1: And then and Bobby is on the mic, so you
- 43:15Speaker 1: know what this is.
- 43:18Speaker 4: This is Bobby Bunch.
- 43:22Speaker 6: That's good, dude, Thank you man, really good.
- 43:24Speaker 4: That's good for a rooster over there. I love that.
- 43:27Speaker 4: So my wife calls red rooster. Why So we were
- 43:31Speaker 4: in the car once. I think we're in Fayetteville and
- 43:35Speaker 4: I was playing Alison Chains Rooster. You know, do you
- 43:38Speaker 4: know the song doing Man. Yeah, they come to stuff
- 43:42Speaker 4: the Rooster and reads like I hate this song. And
- 43:48Speaker 4: we're like, sorry, he's like I.
- 43:49Speaker 2: Hate he's not singing, he's not like I hate song.
- 43:54Speaker 6: Pretty good actually pretty good.
- 43:57Speaker 2: So that's pretty accurate.
- 44:00Speaker 4: And we're like why, how one, why do you hate
- 44:02Speaker 4: it too? How do you know it?
- 44:03Speaker 9: Really?
- 44:03Speaker 4: Because Reid's younger, it's like when I was in a fraternity,
- 44:07Speaker 4: they abducted me and left you in the woods in
- 44:09Speaker 4: this song, We're like, what and so what happened before
- 44:12Speaker 4: we finished the story? Ah? So am I getting trouble? Oh?
- 44:16Speaker 8: Do you care?
- 44:16Speaker 4: I don't care. No, no, don't get in trouble.
- 44:18Speaker 2: They take us to a spot.
- 44:20Speaker 4: Can you say this? Yeah, I don't want you to
- 44:23Speaker 4: feel pressure.
- 44:24Speaker 2: They take us to a spot.
- 44:25Speaker 1: We don't know where we're going, you know, we're a
- 44:28Speaker 1: little scared. We're like new pledges and how many of
- 44:33Speaker 1: you all at the time, there's like third twenty five thirty.
- 44:36Speaker 4: Did they wake you up? Do they wake up? Is
- 44:40Speaker 4: in the middle of the night though?
- 44:42Speaker 3: Yes?
- 44:42Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, So and then apparently they were playing that
- 44:46Speaker 4: song the whole time and it's a creepy song.
- 44:48Speaker 2: So they took them out to the woods, right, like
- 44:51Speaker 2: how far you.
- 44:52Speaker 1: Get in a car and you don't know where you're going?
- 44:55Speaker 1: But they're like, and this.
- 44:56Speaker 4: Are you blindfolded?
- 44:58Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 44:58Speaker 4: You don't say too much.
- 44:59Speaker 1: Yeah, blindfolded, Yeah you can't see.
- 45:00Speaker 4: We'll say that god fless.
- 45:03Speaker 1: I hate that song, dude, but you're just like, you
- 45:05Speaker 1: know it kind of you're kind of like scared. You
- 45:07Speaker 1: don't know what time it is, you don't know where
- 45:08Speaker 1: you're going. You're in somebody's truck there. You can hear
- 45:11Speaker 1: it peeling pilling down the road, gravel roads, and it's
- 45:14Speaker 1: just blaring that song the whole time for like an
- 45:18Speaker 1: hour and a half, two hours. You don't even you
- 45:20Speaker 1: lose track of time.
- 45:21Speaker 2: Two hours.
- 45:22Speaker 4: So there's driving circles, basically just screwing with you, right, Okay,
- 45:26Speaker 4: So it's like, I mean, imagine that you're blind, you
- 45:29Speaker 4: don't know where you are, you're naked.
- 45:31Speaker 2: I mean, Reid said, are we Reid said that, like
- 45:35Speaker 2: you know, you thought he was dying, like he was
- 45:38Speaker 2: about to die.
- 45:38Speaker 4: So we were playing that song. It's like uh, a
- 45:40Speaker 4: song doesn't even feel good, he said, I don't like it.
- 45:43Speaker 4: So that was the first. But my wife when we
- 45:46Speaker 4: played cards, always played like a nineties all turned to
- 45:47Speaker 4: play list. She hates it, but this song comes on
- 45:49Speaker 4: and it always reminds her of Read. So Read's been
- 45:51Speaker 4: working out with us a little bit, and so we
- 45:53Speaker 4: have speakers outside that you can catch control bluetooth. And
- 45:56Speaker 4: one day we're just working out and I didn't hit
- 45:58Speaker 4: the song, and all of a sudden, the song starts
- 46:01Speaker 4: to blare over the speakers in our yard, and I'm like,
- 46:04Speaker 4: that's weird, and I just thought maybe one of my
- 46:07Speaker 4: So my wife's was dicking with Reid playing Rooster while
- 46:09Speaker 4: working out. She had taken control was just right, And
- 46:14Speaker 4: so that story, she calls him Rooster. When she referred
- 46:17Speaker 4: to him, she calls him Rooster, which is funny. And
- 46:20Speaker 4: so I don't know why this story started, but my
- 46:23Speaker 4: wife calls Read Rooster. I kind of like you to Read.
- 46:27Speaker 4: I don't know where I know. We're talking about the
- 46:28Speaker 4: song and Rooster.
- 46:30Speaker 6: You just called him rooster, and then oh I did.
- 46:32Speaker 4: I was describing the story.
- 46:33Speaker 1: Rooster's been working out like I can feel it. I'm
- 46:37Speaker 1: like I don't like it. No, not that, just like
- 46:41Speaker 1: the constant pump from from while it.
- 46:43Speaker 6: Feels good, how's he doing great?
- 46:46Speaker 4: He tries hard and that's all. That's all you do
- 46:48Speaker 4: it First, when Eddie first started, how I knew he
- 46:49Speaker 4: lastes he tried hard, even if when he didn't, because
- 46:53Speaker 4: it's new, you're everything. It's not even that it's heavy
- 46:55Speaker 4: or not heavy. You're just doing lifting weights and ways.
- 47:00Speaker 4: You probably haven't left the weights in ten fifteen years. Yeah,
- 47:02Speaker 4: and so it's all new. So as long as you like,
- 47:05Speaker 4: try hard, you're gonna figure it out. And read tries hard.
- 47:08Speaker 4: Eddie tried hard. Now Eddie has it and Eddie's really strong.
- 47:10Speaker 4: But there was like three or four Monthshereddy's just figuring
- 47:12Speaker 4: it out and he was just killing himself trying hard,
- 47:15Speaker 4: and you just knew he'd last. And read the same
- 47:17Speaker 4: way read are you?
- 47:17Speaker 2: Are you past the like I can't do this point
- 47:20Speaker 2: because at the very beginning you feel like you're dying
- 47:22Speaker 2: every work out, like I don't know why I can
- 47:24Speaker 2: do this.
- 47:24Speaker 1: Oh yeah, like on the verge of throwing up or
- 47:26Speaker 1: passing out the entire time.
- 47:28Speaker 4: Reid makes a lot of excuses still, like he's still.
- 47:30Speaker 2: In that phase undercooked salmon, what was the last one.
- 47:32Speaker 4: He's getting to the point he still does it, but
- 47:34Speaker 4: he's getting he's be getting better because I had a
- 47:35Speaker 4: little talk with him.
- 47:36Speaker 2: I pulled him to the side so we don't do this.
- 47:39Speaker 4: He was like, you know, I don't know how good
- 47:41Speaker 4: I'm gonna do today because my salmon was undercooked.
- 47:44Speaker 2: And I said, I never heard that.
- 47:46Speaker 4: I said, that's perilla thing, your stomach being messed up
- 47:48Speaker 4: as a ferrilla thing. I said, but if you can't go,
- 47:51Speaker 4: you shouldn't go, Like, don't don't push yourself. But if
- 47:53Speaker 4: you can go, don't talk about it. Yes, nobody wants
- 47:56Speaker 4: to hear you complaining about something, and it's not going
- 47:58Speaker 4: to make me look at you more favorably for doing
- 47:59Speaker 4: it while your stomach was hurt. But if you can't go,
- 48:02Speaker 4: don't go. Literally, it's like, if you're sick, don't come
- 48:04Speaker 4: to work. We're not gonna judge you. You're sick, you
- 48:06Speaker 4: shouldn't be here. But if you can't show up to work,
- 48:09Speaker 4: work right. And so he's breaking out of that done
- 48:12Speaker 4: every day. It was something though there's.
- 48:14Speaker 1: Been a couple of times I'm like, I want to
- 48:16Speaker 1: say something, I'm I'm.
- 48:17Speaker 4: Not going to do it, Like yesterday is something flared
- 48:19Speaker 4: up and I was like, read, I don't remember what
- 48:21Speaker 4: it was.
- 48:22Speaker 2: I don't want to take the credit. But you have
- 48:24Speaker 2: used my foot for example, Like look at Eddie. He's
- 48:27Speaker 2: got a broken foot and there I am still like.
- 48:29Speaker 4: Hey, all jokes aside. Eddie's not missed a single day
- 48:31Speaker 4: with a man. He's not doing the same workout because
- 48:34Speaker 4: he can't, but he's down there, yeah, showing up and grinding.
- 48:38Speaker 7: Read have you missed any no, like ones that you
- 48:41Speaker 7: already committed to and then bailed last minute or so He's.
- 48:44Speaker 4: Never committed and bailed. Okay, good, He's never missed when
- 48:48Speaker 4: we were having a workout. There have been days we
- 48:50Speaker 4: haven't done because I've been gone. Yeah, or but you know,
- 48:52Speaker 4: reads like he still looks pretty goofy when he does it,
- 48:55Speaker 4: but everybody doesn't tell they're not goofy anymore.
- 48:57Speaker 6: But what's your workout?
- 48:58Speaker 4: Like?
- 48:59Speaker 7: Like if you've never really bench press and it's kind
- 49:01Speaker 7: of weird to get used to. It's one of those
- 49:03Speaker 7: things like riding a bicycle. Will once you.
- 49:04Speaker 6: Get it, you get it?
- 49:05Speaker 4: Are you stay now?
- 49:06Speaker 2: Okay?
- 49:07Speaker 4: He's getting it.
- 49:07Speaker 6: So you never really did, like in high school like
- 49:09Speaker 6: any of that.
- 49:10Speaker 1: No, like eighth and ninth grade, but like they didn't
- 49:12Speaker 1: teach us like proper technique, right, like go lift this weight.
- 49:15Speaker 6: So like that's why Kevin Clue's the.
- 49:16Speaker 1: Best man Luke Fitness shout out, because he will like
- 49:20Speaker 1: he teaches you the fundamentals to where like like in
- 49:23Speaker 1: bench press, That's what I'm saying. That's why you know
- 49:25Speaker 1: you learn to clinch, clinch the booty cheeks, you know,
- 49:28Speaker 1: and you want to push a little bit with your legs.
- 49:29Speaker 1: I'm I'm like in the beginning, I'm just trying to
- 49:31Speaker 1: push with straight ma like just with my arms, and
- 49:33Speaker 1: I can't lift anything.
- 49:35Speaker 4: He's growing out of baby deer just born trying to
- 49:38Speaker 4: walk on ice. Okay, he's growing out of that because
- 49:42Speaker 4: it's just really unnatural. And he's so tall and long,
- 49:45Speaker 4: yeah big, but he's Riata is like oddly athletic in
- 49:49Speaker 4: certain like ways you don't expect. Like he could throw
- 49:51Speaker 4: a baseball, you can launch, he could throw knuckleballs.
- 49:54Speaker 7: Well do the guy's driver. I mean, golf in general
- 49:57Speaker 7: is good, but his driver is insane.
- 49:58Speaker 2: Even his jump shot it is really nice.
- 50:00Speaker 4: Oh yeah, play basketball with them really At.
- 50:02Speaker 2: Some of our shoots in Florida State, he'd get the ball.
- 50:05Speaker 2: You watch him, it's like a perfect jump shot.
- 50:08Speaker 4: But we played knockout and that's real kind of suck.
- 50:13Speaker 4: But yeah, so that's been going pretty good. Eddie's about
- 50:17Speaker 4: to be back in and proud of you. Yeah, show
- 50:20Speaker 4: messed up.
- 50:21Speaker 2: I'm not missing though all the legs stuff though, because
- 50:23Speaker 2: I mean I watched you guys still do squats and
- 50:25Speaker 2: like lunges and all that.
- 50:26Speaker 4: My pants aren't are It's hard to put on jeans
- 50:29Speaker 4: if they're like they're already borderline because your legs never grow.
- 50:33Speaker 4: It feels like they never grow if you work out.
- 50:34Speaker 4: We've been doing it so hard for like two or
- 50:35Speaker 4: three years. Like my quads now have been the bigger.
- 50:39Speaker 4: My butt is bigger and I can feel it in
- 50:41Speaker 4: my pants pull them on. It's crazy heavy, yes, yeah.
- 50:45Speaker 6: Like you're adding more weight, like Eddie, you've probably but heavy.
- 50:49Speaker 4: Right, what's what's heavy? Ben Bean? Because I maybe weaker
- 50:51Speaker 4: than you, but like.
- 50:52Speaker 6: Like yeah, three to five ropes?
- 50:54Speaker 4: Oh yeah, okay, yeah, like I did Dead Left. I
- 50:59Speaker 4: think I was in six reps of like two seventy
- 51:02Speaker 4: five okay to eighty to eighty five something like that,
- 51:06Speaker 4: and that gets to be pretty heavy. Yeah, but hed,
- 51:08Speaker 4: but we're not gonna do two reps if anything.
- 51:10Speaker 7: Okay, because we're not trying to do That's what I'm
- 51:12Speaker 7: wondering more so like reps not necessarily like what wait
- 51:14Speaker 7: are you doing?
- 51:15Speaker 6: But are you doing like you know or you can't
- 51:17Speaker 6: do it anymore? And you gotta have a spotterer.
- 51:19Speaker 2: And with Kevin Klue, shout out.
- 51:21Speaker 4: Vin, Kevin cls ever did it?
- 51:23Speaker 2: You know? With him, you can't tell him that anything
- 51:25Speaker 2: like feels good, like oh yeah, this wait is perfect.
- 51:28Speaker 2: I can't say that, oh, because then he'll give you more.
- 51:31Speaker 6: Does he ever work out with you?
- 51:32Speaker 4: Yeah? With me sometimes if it was just me, it
- 51:34Speaker 4: wud work out. And oh he's a college player. He's massive.
- 51:39Speaker 4: Sometimes he'll post videos like showing how to do stuff
- 51:41Speaker 4: like squat. He's massive. His brother played the Titans. Twin brother.
- 51:44Speaker 4: Oh wow, was he a d line was the defensive lineman.
- 51:49Speaker 2: I remember I didn't know Kevin then, but I remember
- 51:51Speaker 2: seeing the last name Clue because I would see his
- 51:53Speaker 2: trucks around town and then I saw Clue. All right,
- 51:56Speaker 2: But in the back of the jersey when like we
- 51:57Speaker 2: just watching a game on TV. Like I wondered, that's
- 51:59Speaker 2: the same dude. Now, now's his twin brother.
- 52:01Speaker 4: True, And Kevin's got a girlfriend shout out, which a
- 52:04Speaker 4: little check up here. Kevin's got little girlfriend.
- 52:06Speaker 6: How's that going going great?
- 52:08Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 52:08Speaker 4: Really, guys talking about serious stuff.
- 52:09Speaker 2: Yeah, she's she's the one.
- 52:11Speaker 4: Yeah, sure, yes, yeah. Atdie's foot is when you get
- 52:14Speaker 4: the boot.
- 52:14Speaker 2: Off healing dude. Yesterday I walked around the house for about,
- 52:17Speaker 2: like I don't know, fifteen minutes or so, and for
- 52:20Speaker 2: the first time, it didn't hurt. I mean I would
- 52:22Speaker 2: still kind of sprints. No, no, no, no, no, he's a
- 52:25Speaker 2: Kevin Luke shout out, shut out.
- 52:28Speaker 4: Reid is moving in how many months? Now? Nine months?
- 52:32Speaker 6: Is it for sure?
- 52:34Speaker 1: I don't know where I'll be It depends, but yes,
- 52:36Speaker 1: he won't find.
- 52:37Speaker 4: Out until months. He can't stay here because of his
- 52:42Speaker 4: fiance's job. But you're for sure moving, You just don't
- 52:44Speaker 4: know where. Yeah, I don't know where, dang, I know
- 52:47Speaker 4: it won't be far. But Katie, how much longer are
- 52:50Speaker 4: you in Nashville? When do you go back to school?
- 52:52Speaker 3: Well, okay, I'm till the end of the summer, but
- 52:54Speaker 3: wins in.
- 52:54Speaker 4: I don't know when that isn't August. But once I
- 52:57Speaker 4: got once I became an adult, Katie, I forgot this summer.
- 52:59Speaker 4: When you have, you'll remember that brings it back.
- 53:02Speaker 5: Got it personally, I'm going a rush to get back
- 53:04Speaker 5: to school.
- 53:05Speaker 4: Do you have a year to let finish? Don't you?
- 53:06Speaker 8: Not?
- 53:06Speaker 4: Really?
- 53:06Speaker 3: I mean, so you graduated, yeah I have, I have.
- 53:12Speaker 3: I have a college degree.
- 53:13Speaker 4: Okay, but you're in the middle of grad.
- 53:15Speaker 5: School kind of I looped it with my first my
- 53:18Speaker 5: first year. I lived my first year of grad school
- 53:20Speaker 5: with my senior year, so I technically have one year
- 53:23Speaker 5: under my belt.
- 53:23Speaker 4: Then why not finish and get one more year?
- 53:25Speaker 3: Because it's not really what I want to do anymore.
- 53:28Speaker 5: It was I just felt like it was the right
- 53:29Speaker 5: path at one point because I wanted to be a
- 53:31Speaker 5: teacher at one point later on in my career.
- 53:33Speaker 3: But I'm not sure.
- 53:34Speaker 5: And that's why I was getting my master's so I
- 53:35Speaker 5: could be certified to do that.
- 53:36Speaker 3: But I'm not so sure.
- 53:36Speaker 4: Now what do you what do you want to do? Well?
- 53:39Speaker 3: I like this. I would like to stay here, but
- 53:42Speaker 3: you know.
- 53:42Speaker 4: You sound like read like a version of what happens?
- 53:49Speaker 2: What does that mean.
- 53:51Speaker 4: For you? Just in general?
- 53:52Speaker 5: Oh my gosh, you're it's like letting a kid loose
- 53:55Speaker 5: in a candy store. Because the concerts here, I'm i AM,
- 53:59Speaker 5: but I don't know anyone here. So I've been going
- 54:00Speaker 5: by myself. But I've been having a great time.
- 54:03Speaker 4: And wow, you're secure enough to go to concerts by yourself.
- 54:05Speaker 4: Good for you. I did.
- 54:08Speaker 3: I went to see am A Fest by myself. So okay.
- 54:10Speaker 5: The first night I went with my one friend in
- 54:12Speaker 5: town and a couple of her friends, and then that
- 54:14Speaker 5: friend agreed to buy tickets for Saturday night. But then
- 54:17Speaker 5: Saturday morning told me she didn't want to go anymore.
- 54:19Speaker 5: So I was up with two tickets. So I found
- 54:21Speaker 5: a stranger on Facebook marketplace. I went to the concert
- 54:24Speaker 5: with a stranger.
- 54:25Speaker 4: What.
- 54:25Speaker 3: Yeah, it was great time, dude, but not really.
- 54:30Speaker 4: That's really the dating side I audio to. Yeah.
- 54:33Speaker 5: No, he was my age though, so like it wasn't
- 54:35Speaker 5: like like a nine year old man, and.
- 54:37Speaker 4: He just wanted to go. He was like, I'll go
- 54:38Speaker 4: for three and you guys sat together.
- 54:42Speaker 3: Well, okay.
- 54:42Speaker 5: That was the thing is that Landy Wilson was playing
- 54:44Speaker 5: whenever I got there, so I just busted through the
- 54:46Speaker 5: gates trying to get to my seat as soon as
- 54:48Speaker 5: I could, and he goes, Katie.
- 54:49Speaker 3: Are you Katie? Where did you meet the dude Facebook marketplace?
- 54:54Speaker 4: No? No, no, where did we have a meeting place?
- 54:56Speaker 4: Or do you meet at the seats? Oh?
- 54:58Speaker 3: Well I was. I think he would.
- 54:59Speaker 5: He had just gotten there too, and I just I
- 55:01Speaker 5: was busting through to get to my seat because I
- 55:02Speaker 5: wanted to hear Lanny Wilson play. And he saw me walking.
- 55:05Speaker 5: He gets recognized me from Facebook and he was like, hey, God.
- 55:08Speaker 4: So he just happened to see you. But your seats
- 55:10Speaker 4: were together.
- 55:10Speaker 3: Yeah they would have been.
- 55:11Speaker 5: But I was bootlegging seats all week because I had
- 55:14Speaker 5: a seat up in the nosebleeds because they were cheaper.
- 55:16Speaker 5: But then I would just find other places to sit.
- 55:19Speaker 5: But then I also went Sunday by myself, completely by myself.
- 55:21Speaker 4: This isn't she a bulldog?
- 55:23Speaker 2: This is at the stadium?
- 55:24Speaker 3: Yeah, it was Nissan.
- 55:26Speaker 5: And then on sat on Sunday that was just I
- 55:28Speaker 5: was completely alone on Sunday. But whenever I got there,
- 55:31Speaker 5: a nice surprise was that Zach Topp was performing too,
- 55:34Speaker 5: So I just had a great I had a great weekend,
- 55:36Speaker 5: all the music, all the surprises.
- 55:38Speaker 2: That's true.
- 55:39Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, like you're cooler than me. After that conversation, crap, Hey,
- 55:43Speaker 4: I worry since I'm gone and I'm gone again, and
- 55:45Speaker 4: I'm like, you know, some days you have stuff to
- 55:47Speaker 4: edit and some days you but some days there's like not,
- 55:49Speaker 4: you know, there's nothing that read has the same issues
- 55:51Speaker 4: sometimes so it's nothing to do. Somebodys there's a lot
- 55:53Speaker 4: to do. And I'm like, man, I hope she's not
- 55:54Speaker 4: out there just being miserable by herself. You're not, no, no.
- 55:57Speaker 5: My first night in town, I went and saw Stevie
- 55:59Speaker 5: Nicks by myself because I had to, like, there was
- 56:01Speaker 5: a two opportune.
- 56:03Speaker 4: You know, that's pretty crazy.
- 56:05Speaker 2: Have you found good restaurants or anything that you like here?
- 56:07Speaker 3: Not restaurants.
- 56:09Speaker 5: I went to trivia last night with my friend and
- 56:11Speaker 5: her mom at Rock and Dough over by the Nations
- 56:14Speaker 5: Pizza Place.
- 56:14Speaker 3: Pizza Place. Y Trivia. Dude was so intense. He was
- 56:19Speaker 3: very big stickler for the rules.
- 56:21Speaker 4: But yeah, yeah, will follower.
- 56:24Speaker 5: I was raised by a long line of non serious people, jokesters,
- 56:28Speaker 5: but so he was.
- 56:30Speaker 3: Not not similar to me at all, but yeah.
- 56:33Speaker 5: Restaurants wise re read laughs at me every time I
- 56:37Speaker 5: talk about Trader Joe's. I don't have one anywhere I've
- 56:40Speaker 5: ever lived before.
- 56:40Speaker 4: Yeah, when you get a Trader Joe's, it's cool for
- 56:42Speaker 4: a little bit. Ye.
- 56:43Speaker 2: Yeah, Orange Chickens where it's at?
- 56:45Speaker 3: Okay, I need to try it. Yeah, I was trying
- 56:47Speaker 3: to read.
- 56:47Speaker 5: They don't have the many tacos here at the Tennessee
- 56:50Speaker 5: Trader Joe's like they had at the one Texas one.
- 56:53Speaker 6: I've been to the Frozen ones.
- 56:54Speaker 3: Yeah, the Mini Talkers, Yeah, I've seen them where.
- 56:56Speaker 6: There's two locations out here, which Trader Joe's. Are you
- 57:00Speaker 6: going the one?
- 57:00Speaker 4: You guys should do your Turner Jow podcast. Yeah, Katie,
- 57:05Speaker 4: do you like what like so like, what do you
- 57:07Speaker 4: want to do now you've been here? Do you feel
- 57:09Speaker 4: like you've been exposed to stuff that you want to
- 57:11Speaker 4: do that maybe you didn't know was a thing?
- 57:14Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 57:15Speaker 3: I just think that.
- 57:17Speaker 5: So the thing about grad school is that it's all
- 57:19Speaker 5: just papers about things theory, journalism theory, which I mean,
- 57:23Speaker 5: what is that? And so I just it's not really
- 57:26Speaker 5: what I it's not really what I you know, I
- 57:28Speaker 5: can always go back, but personally and I only have.
- 57:31Speaker 4: You sounds like a senior in high school going to
- 57:32Speaker 4: the NBA. I can always go to college. Yeah, yeah,
- 57:36Speaker 4: the weird thing for me this way. They when I
- 57:38Speaker 4: sold my house, they put it on TMZ and I
- 57:40Speaker 4: had nothing to do with it. I didn't know there's
- 57:41Speaker 4: gonna be a t MZ di do you guys see it?
- 57:42Speaker 3: No, I saw that.
- 57:43Speaker 2: It's so weird here houses on TMZ.
- 57:46Speaker 4: They were Yeah, it was a picture of me, and
- 57:47Speaker 4: they were like, bybone sells house and it was everything
- 57:50Speaker 4: what I bought it for, what I sold it for.
- 57:52Speaker 2: How do they get that stuff?
- 57:53Speaker 4: No idea, how do they even know? And so yeah
- 57:56Speaker 4: it's on TMZ.
- 57:56Speaker 2: Hey, don't look at I didn't say anything. Man, it
- 57:59Speaker 2: wasn't me.
- 57:59Speaker 4: There might be some there must be some sort of
- 58:02Speaker 4: like lea insider dad, Yes, but I know it wasn't
- 58:06Speaker 4: my realtor because my realtor is the wife of rod
- 58:11Speaker 4: or Boss, who I know is not gonna but yeah, no,
- 58:14Speaker 4: PopEd up my team's in starting tag.
- 58:15Speaker 2: I was like, what is what huh?
- 58:16Speaker 4: And then it was like picture of me in like
- 58:18Speaker 4: a suit and it's like buys home for this much?
- 58:20Speaker 6: Look you sure editing this unloads.
- 58:22Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean I made a lot of money off
- 58:24Speaker 4: of it, but it was it was it was bizarre
- 58:27Speaker 4: to be up there. Yeah, I sound like in a
- 58:30Speaker 4: word show or something.
- 58:31Speaker 2: They magant look like you're outside your pool, just like in.
- 58:34Speaker 4: A suit, And I wasn't. I had nothing to do
- 58:37Speaker 4: with it, like I just had it. Had I not
- 58:43Speaker 4: been tagged in it, I would have had no idea.
- 58:46Speaker 4: So that was a bizarre feeling to get that message
- 58:48Speaker 4: and the people are like, you're not talking about it
- 58:49Speaker 4: what I.
- 58:49Speaker 2: Was talk about?
- 58:51Speaker 6: How do you feel like? Do you feel like it's
- 58:54Speaker 6: a mixed invasion of privacy?
- 58:55Speaker 4: A little bit? It's a mix mostly it feels not
- 58:58Speaker 4: mostly I'm gonna go fifty fifty because it's close to that,
- 59:01Speaker 4: like fifty to fifty. Half of it is, Oh that's
- 59:03Speaker 4: pretty cool. TMZ thinks I'm kind famous enough to even care. Yes,
- 59:06Speaker 4: that would mean that I don't really care about the
- 59:10Speaker 4: fame part of it, But that would mean that I
- 59:13Speaker 4: I've maintained a level of success that has uh basically
- 59:17Speaker 4: turned into what is fame to some people on the
- 59:21Speaker 4: other side, Yeah, it feels freaking odd that that that
- 59:25Speaker 4: they know what I bought my house for and what
- 59:27Speaker 4: I sold it for and the money I.
- 59:28Speaker 2: Made because that in regular life, I am none of
- 59:32Speaker 2: their business.
- 59:33Speaker 4: I never shared that, right, I don't talk about money.
- 59:35Speaker 2: And in our business, like we pick what we want
- 59:38Speaker 2: to talk about, like we'd pick what we want people
- 59:40Speaker 2: to know.
- 59:40Speaker 4: This really really personal stuff. Yeah, so it's fine. But
- 59:44Speaker 4: it was like half weird, half not weird. Oh yeah, no,
- 59:48Speaker 4: I killed, you did great? Yeah I killed.
- 59:50Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 59:50Speaker 4: But Eddie knew it all anyway because I tell Leddy
- 59:52Speaker 4: that stuff. Oh yeah, I crushed.
- 59:55Speaker 6: Nice.
- 59:55Speaker 2: Yeah it's great.
- 59:56Speaker 4: Not on purpose. I mean, it wasn't like a bought
- 59:58Speaker 4: it going on, I'm going to do this right, but
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: yeah crushed. I mean my housing market went boom boom.
- 1:00:03Speaker 4: I happened to get very lucky to buy it right
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: when COVID was making houses go down for like a
- 1:00:08Speaker 4: month at the beginning of COVID because my wife, who's
- 1:00:11Speaker 4: my not even my fiance yet, my girlfriend had just
- 1:00:13Speaker 4: moved here and I was like, I need a studio,
- 1:00:15Speaker 4: a place with a studio outside. So we got super
- 1:00:17Speaker 4: fortunate bought it then and then yeah, I know we killed.
- 1:00:20Speaker 8: That's awesome. Good for you.
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: They they say, who you sold it to or they,
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: But he's just a business guy. Like whoever I sold
- 1:00:27Speaker 4: it to isn't famous or anything. Morgan Wall looked at
- 1:00:29Speaker 4: it for a while. Post Malone wanted to rent it
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: for a while. I didn't want to do a long
- 1:00:33Speaker 4: term rent though I wanted to sell it off. That's
- 1:00:37Speaker 4: a funny way to say.
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: And I don't see post Malone really taking care of
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: a house, you know, you know.
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: Maybe the opposite. But I like him. I like him. Yeah,
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: that was that was a weird thing too. That's it.
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: I hope you guys have a good weekend. Go MAVs.
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: Just for the economy.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: Hey win one.
- 1:00:56Speaker 6: Hey, just how boring is it for you guys?
- 1:00:57Speaker 4: Just for the economy. I mean, I don't care. Really,
- 1:01:00Speaker 4: Eddie picked them, picked both teams.
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: So I'm kind of like it. But it's kind of
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: fun watching it without any kind of like pool I'm
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: pulling for anyone or whatever. So I mean I kind
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: of like it. It's it's still.
- 1:01:08Speaker 6: Entertaining, but still like three to zero. And I'm not
- 1:01:10Speaker 6: saying that a cocky but I'm just asking that they
- 1:01:12Speaker 6: must have wanted to.
- 1:01:13Speaker 4: Sweep, because like you said, they want they wanted to
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: wanted to so mm hmm, yeah, I told them so.
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: It's okay. I'm losing much money out like that, but.
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: Keep going with the MAVs. They're gonna win one.
- 1:01:26Speaker 4: Famous last words. I know, I know, famous freaking last words.
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: I got them the last game. I got them at
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: plus five. I'm like, God, we can do this. I
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: think they ended up plus six.
- 1:01:37Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:01:37Speaker 4: When I put the money on seven plus six and
- 1:01:40Speaker 4: a half off by seven, that always saw, especially when
- 1:01:43Speaker 4: they're not fouling and they need to foul. Yeah, thatck
- 1:01:45Speaker 4: is killing me. That's it. Thank you guys, and we
- 1:01:49Speaker 4: will see you next week. Blow the whistle. Let's get
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: out of dodge, you know, all right? Say got it
- 1:01:54Speaker 4: to France? Hey, get this to get you going an Okay,
