- 2:30Hey, welcome, Welcome, Welcome, Welcome to Duck Crew pocast I am
- 2:37the visionary Queen Angela. Imagine a state where justice is not blind, but
- 2:44whether she wears a blindfold that has been corrupted by greed and power. A
- 2:53state where the very institution that is meant to uphold the law has been tainted
- 3:02by the root of corruption. Welcome to the State of Texas, where the
- 3:08parole board and other aspects of judicial system has become a breeding ground for dishonesty
- 3:17and injustice. If you guys have been following me, you guys know that
- 3:23I have been sharing some stories of individuals that are currently incarcerated within the TDCJ,
- 3:32which is the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. We know that in most
- 3:38states, when you go into the Department of Corrections, into these facilities,
- 3:46they the sole purpose is to rehabilitate. There's some type of rehabilitation program.
- 3:54Where the State of Texas truly do not believe in rehabilitation and and there has
- 4:00been a pattern of miscummed up and a pattern of denial, and where they've
- 4:12just been keeping things from those that are incarcerated, things that will help them
- 4:18to read, to re enter society and to get back into society. I
- 4:27know you guys are probably expecting to have Miss Tina Duram on tonight, but
- 4:32she had an emergency and she's not able to be here with me tonight.
- 4:40But nevertheless, we will get her back on the beginning of the year as
- 4:45we close out. One thing about being a podcaster, being a host,
- 4:51you have to be prepared to adapt. I know a lot of times when
- 4:57your guests don't show up, a lot a hosts like to cancel their shows
- 5:02or they don't know what to do. That's life, you know. Emergencies
- 5:11happen, Things happen, and we have to learn to adapt. I always
- 5:17take every opportunity as an opportunity to share. There's always something if you are
- 5:27passionate about what you're doing, there should always be a topic that you can
- 5:32chime in on that you can talk about for at least thirty minutes to an
- 5:38hour without having a guest or without having people chime in. And that's something
- 5:45that as you grow and become more aware of podcasting and a lot of the
- 5:55things that that you learned along the way, Like we don't know it all
- 6:01and some of us, y'all see us doing this, We've been doing it
- 6:05for a while. Some of us have been doing this for a while.
- 6:10You look at some of the hosts over on the network that I'm on,
- 6:13They've been doing it ten thirteen years, So they can do it with ease,
- 6:19with the breeze. You know, when I first came on, you
- 6:23know, I struggled. I struggled the whole a thirty minute show. Now
- 6:29it becomes second nature because you developed these things that you are passionate about,
- 6:36things that you can talk about, things that you can you know, engage
- 6:40with people about. And right now I'm on this Texas corruption in the State
- 6:47of Texas, this parole board here. Lately, I've been focused on the
- 6:56food situation, the housing situation, and a lot of the things that's taking
- 7:00place inside of TDCJ. One of the concerns right now is food with some
- 7:10of the inmates say they're maggots. Some of the inmates are saying that they
- 7:15are weak bugs. Regardless of what they are, They're not supposed to be
- 7:23in food that you consume, that that you are feeding your the inmates,
- 7:29regardless regardless of what kind of creatures they are or insects they are. They
- 7:35should not be in food that you are serving inmates, regardless of the crime,
- 7:41regardless of the time, regardless of the situation. They are humans and
- 7:46they deserve to be treated like humans wholesome meals. No, they may not
- 7:51get the five star meals. We're not asking for you to give them caveall.
- 7:55We're not asking for you to feed them cray up lids and lobster,
- 7:58but feed them food that will nurture their bodies and allow them to be be
- 8:07feeling and not manly churish, you know. And and that's how we're asking.
- 8:15You know, we're not asking for a whole lot. We're not asking
- 8:20for luxury, we're not asking for extra we're not asking for anything out of
- 8:26the extra or ordinary. We're just asking for individuals to do their jobs and
- 8:31to make sure that what is supposed to be done is being done within these
- 8:37facilities. And that's not what's happening. And we need to make sure that
- 8:41this is what's happening, So y'all, as y'all continue to support me here
- 8:48on the Crew podcast and here whatever platform I may be on sharing about the
- 8:56Free Texas campaign and sharing about the things that it's taking place in the state
- 9:03of Texas. Y'all, there's an urgent cry for you know people to wake
- 9:09up and to see what has been plaguing the state of Texas for decades.
- 9:16We talk about three to four decades of corruption. This is not stuff that
- 9:20just has happened overnight. This is stuff that people have been turning the blind
- 9:24eye in a closed ear to for decades. And it's time that it stopped
- 9:31again. I say, imagine a state where justice is not blind, but
- 9:37whether where it's a blind fold that has been corrupted by greed and power.
- 9:43Y'all, It's time for it to stop, y'all. I have some special
- 9:48guests that's stopping by voices from behind the walls, voices from within TDCJ,
- 9:56and we are allowing them to share their story. I have someone on the
- 10:00line that live in on the line right now and I want them to introduce
- 10:05themselves. If you will please introduce yourself. My name is Jimmy Johnson.
- 10:09Hell ID number is zero one A nine eighty seven one seven. Apparently being
- 10:18concentrated at the Colony John B. Colon a unit in Kennedy, Texas,
- 10:24apparently serving a forty five year sentence aggravated robbery that was enhanced with the private
- 10:35conviction. That's how I got the forty five years right now. You know,
- 10:41I'm fighting my case because in February the twenty second, twenty twenty two,
- 10:48of course UH sent me some paperwork called the non protard border and following
- 10:54me that the prior conviction that was used to enhance my sent to forty five
- 10:58years. But yet, of course UH failed to correct any and all legal
- 11:11documents and likeness that was connected. UH. Okay, see, I gotta
- 11:18stop you. I gotta stop you because I want people to truly understand what
- 11:24you just said. Because what you just said to people outside people that's free
- 11:31in the free world, it makes no sense to us because how can how
- 11:35can they tell you that the information is erroneous and it is you know,
- 11:45not acceptible in in in it's that's that. That makes no sense to me
- 11:50that they tell you that that they did something wrong. In other words,
- 11:56they did something wrong. If if you did something wrong, then why have
- 12:01you not corrected it? That that that's that, That's That's what I'm hearing.
- 12:05Now, make me make me understand this. Now, if if they
- 12:09said they acknowledged, they acknowledged that they did something wrong, these people sent
- 12:16you. You didn't ask for this, they sent it to you telling you
- 12:20that they did something wrong. Okay, go ahead in county, Miss Kim
- 12:26Hogg in uh the trial court judge in and eighteth take a courting raz County.
- 12:33I need this novelton order. You mean that stating that the wrong right
- 12:41there? Okay. So if that's the case, then if you know that
- 12:46y'all, if you know that y'all did this, you know that y'all did
- 12:52erroneous charges, then what are y'all doing to correct this? Because y'all did
- 12:58this. You you didn't do it, they did it. So what are
- 13:01they doing to correct this? And how can you send somebody that and still
- 13:11have them incarcerated? Yeah, right now I'm doing an illegal sentence. My
- 13:16sentence right now is illegal because the punishment range out that erroneous prod conviction the
- 13:22punching arrange changed, meaning now I could have gotten less than forty five years,
- 13:26way less than forty five years for the ben his prog conviction. But
- 13:31right now, as of this date, on my judgment for the aggravated robbery
- 13:35still has the prior conviction, which was Tampa with a dead body, she
- 13:41don't even exist no more. On my night for the rob got tamper with
- 13:46a dead body. It don't even exist no more. But yeah, it's
- 13:50still there. You know, when they're my sittings, he illegal? Which
- 13:54are the course supposed to be supposed to bring me back to court and resentence
- 13:58me without being hanced? Right now, have eleven years in on the forty
- 14:03five, they can bring me back and re send them to me and I
- 14:05can go home. But I can't for some reason, they won't let me
- 14:09get in front of a judge. So what is the reason? So what
- 14:15what is the reason for them not bringing you back to court? So have
- 14:20you contacted someone? Have you reached out to someone? Were you okay?
- 14:26Were you assigned a a public defender when you were first sentenced? Definitely,
- 14:35the not a public defender, but a quarter upon their attorney. Yeah,
- 14:37that's what we Yeah, the quarter for attorney with the Jerome garn that was
- 14:43a point for my case wasn't working for me. He was working for the
- 14:46state. Yeah, that's that's basically what they do. And that's what we've
- 14:52come to feel like it was his job, it was his job to investigate
- 14:56the prod condition that he did. He never he never investigated the pride conviction.
- 15:01So I unknownly heated true to a crime that I didn't even know that
- 15:05I was playing true to you know what I mean? And it wasn't my
- 15:09father was his fault because that was his job to investigate it before I feed
- 15:13the truth to him, you know. But I wrote a lawyer, several
- 15:16lawyers. I wrote the lawyer, Miss Allie Book in Houston, said that
- 15:18all of my paperwork, you know that the court sent me showing all this.
- 15:24I wrote a lawyer, David Schulman in Austin, Texas. I mean
- 15:28said them all my paperwork explaining the whole situation. No response. So have
- 15:31you contacted any of the any of the local law schools to see if they
- 15:39would with a system. I contacted the Innocence Project, Texas Universe, the
- 15:48University of Texas Innosent Project Network, and I filled out their applications and the
- 15:54consent forms. And so far it's been five months they had my case.
- 15:58I said he was doing investigation. I sent a lot of people of the
- 16:00city on investigation. But I have heard up back in five months. I
- 16:04guess they still doing the investigation. Well it may it may take him a
- 16:08while, but I see that they theyre in Milwaukee, somewhere up north.
- 16:18The Innocence Project just they just freed a a young man thirty six years old.
- 16:26He was sixteen years old when he went to prison, all kinds of
- 16:32army. They violated his rights in so many different ways. And you know,
- 16:38he shouldn't have even been incarcerated, but he did twenty years and they
- 16:44ended up having apologized and that man they finished have to pay that man for
- 16:48all that time. And they the state of Texas, that's what they afraid
- 16:52of. But I keep telling people, and I'm not gonna stop telling them.
- 16:56If if if you're in the state of Texas, y'all, there's so
- 17:00much that has taken place in the state of Texas that it's it's sad.
- 17:04If you have a family member that's incarcerated, y'all, I'm telling you,
- 17:11stand up for your family member. Investigate these these these charges, and and
- 17:18and in this this time that they've been given you, you you got to
- 17:22look at and and observe what is going on with your family member. Because
- 17:27what these people are banking on is that these people have nobody on the outside
- 17:32side that would care and would fight for them, and they know what they're
- 17:37doing is wrong. They know what they're doing is inhumane. They know what
- 17:41they're doing. Every day I wake up and I get a phone call or
- 17:47a e message from somebody saying that this is taking place. This is taking
- 17:52place, and you I'm just sitting here listening to all of these people.
- 17:56And it's a pattern, a wrong for and overly incarcerated people in the state
- 18:02of Texas, and it's sad most of us, like myself, we got
- 18:07the people from the court to prove and show that they're wrong. I generated
- 18:17that they gave me, telling me that they messed up, telling me that
- 18:21they're wrong, but trying to you. You, I'm I'm I'm I'm sitting
- 18:27here listening to you. I listened to four or five other cases the same
- 18:33thing, where the court has contacted these people and told them, well,
- 18:37if this is correct, or if this is correct and this is this and
- 18:40this is that and this is that, then you shouldn't even be incarcerated this,
- 18:44this should be vacated. This should if you know this should be vacated,
- 18:48If you know this should be that, and this should be that,
- 18:51then why can't you get up off your butt and go walk over there and
- 18:53tell somebody and make the doors swing open, right that that's what That's all
- 19:02I want is the people that that is thrown around all of this because what
- 19:06is what is happening is people are afraid to to to turn one stone because
- 19:12they know if they turn one stone, they're gonna have to turn another one
- 19:15and turn another one into all the stones are turned. And see they've been
- 19:18covering up stuff for decades, and see that they are afraid to unleash this
- 19:23stuff because once the it unleased, a whole bunch of stuff is gonna be
- 19:27uncovered. But guess what, it can't be stopped now. It can't be
- 19:32stopped now. It's especially with what's going on with the juveniles. As soon
- 19:36as these juvenile people get hoped to get whin or what's going on with these
- 19:41lost juvenile records, they not gonna be able to hide it. Loan,
- 19:45you know how many juveniles are locked up that could be home free that could
- 19:52help, could remedy this problem of overcrowding, the problem of understaffed. Like
- 19:59all these people that are incarcerated, overly incarcerated and wrongfully incarcerated. If these
- 20:03people were home with their families, they wouldn't have to worry about not being
- 20:08staffed. They won't have to worry about out the extra suicide watch because just
- 20:17what people wouldn't be on suicide watch because they would be home. They will
- 20:21they would be home with their families. See, a lot of this trauma
- 20:26has been brought on by being in prison. A lot of these people didn't
- 20:32have these issues until they came to prison. And I'm here over and over
- 20:37again, I hear these inmates say, if you win the criminal when you
- 20:42came, you're gonna be the one when you leave, You're gonna be a
- 20:47better criminal. You're gonna because that's all they teach you. They don't teach
- 20:49you to rehabilitate. They're not teaching rehabilitation. They're taking everything out out of
- 20:57the prison system that will help the people, help them read inner society.
- 21:07They're taking all the schooling away, they're taking all the trades away, They're
- 21:11taking all the classes away so that they can better themselves and prepare themselves to
- 21:18be back in society. Like the whole gist of prison is supposed to be
- 21:26to her abilitate. But I've come to realize that it's all about money and
- 21:30power. In the state of Texas, is all about money and power.
- 21:37You look at the six states that do not pay their prisoners to perform work.
- 21:44You look at those six states. Texas is one of them, South
- 21:48Carolina is another. You look at the six states and it tells you about
- 21:53these six states. It tells you about the people that run these six states.
- 21:59And then you look get the people that have been in control of these
- 22:03six states. Why they're not progressing because they're getting free labeled. Guess what
- 22:07this free label is another form of slavery. You look at the amount of
- 22:12people that are incarcerated. Look who's behind these prison walls. You look who's
- 22:19behind the prison walls. It ain't the people that are sitting in these offices.
- 22:29They don't look like they don't look like us. And then you talk
- 22:32about how they end up putting our brothers and sisters behind prison walls, fossified
- 22:41documents, brother stepping indictments. You talk about the paper play scandals, You
- 22:52talk about the paid We call them public defenders here where I'm from, But
- 23:00we talk about these public defenders that goes on to become assistant district attorneys,
- 23:06that goes on to become a district the district attorneys and then they come on
- 23:12and go on up the ladder and get on the appeal or different courts,
- 23:21and then they begin to take over. And then they lock out these inmates
- 23:26that they put in prison because every time they come up for parole, guess
- 23:32what, they can all set them, They can deny them, they can
- 23:37kick them off, they can do what they want to do because guess what,
- 23:41they're controlling everything. Y'all. You gotta stop, you gotta stop you
- 23:47talking about you listen to this man. One of the main things in right
- 23:53now, it's dealing with uh, you know an a lawyer. Yeah,
- 24:03we're doing them on their own pro se. So we finally rints. We
- 24:07give them all the eptences they asked for, showing that we need some type
- 24:11of relief for the best things that they made. We final these rints with
- 24:15the court. I mean, the courts play games. Instead of selling them
- 24:18where they're supposed to go. They sent a straight to the Quarter of Crilineal
- 24:21Appeals and the Quarter Crinont Appeals. There brother stamping them denial without a written
- 24:25order, you know what I mean. And then they're given the reason why
- 24:27they're denied without a written order, and they come to find out that the
- 24:30trial court is not even looking at they hate its rich. Yeah, they're
- 24:34not looking at them. They're just staffing them. They're just stamping them in,
- 24:37denying them. That's what they're doing. Because let me tell you,
- 24:41y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all mean, y'all, y'all, y'all can
- 24:45make more money to them, right they're sitting in prison, then y'all can
- 24:49on yall own making money for yourself. Right. People just don't understand.
- 24:57So we need help, and we need help. You need some lawyers on
- 25:00willing to do some pro bono work, you mean, and look at these
- 25:04casis, you mean, and help people that are ready to get out of
- 25:10prison, get out of a person gets back to their families. You pick
- 25:11up the cents in the society because it's a lot of us in here to
- 25:15change our lives in here, you mean, literally, we've been here so
- 25:18long. We can change our lives. You mean, we the people that
- 25:21we used to be. You mean, I'm not professing to be an angel
- 25:23anything like that. A lot of us ain't. But we know the same
- 25:26people we were seing thirty years ago, and we're growing up in prison and
- 25:32people have to understand that because even people are on the outside. You know,
- 25:37a lot of us, we've made mistakes, a lot of us could
- 25:40be right there. But we're not the same people that we were ten years
- 25:44ago. We're not the same people that we were last week. Every day
- 25:48we we we are growing and develop and moving forward. But the State of
- 25:53Texas don't believe in rehabilitation. They don't believe in second chances. They don't
- 25:57believe that people change. But people do. And it's been proving all over
- 26:02the world that that people do change. Right now, thirty years mean,
- 26:11ain't nobody thinking about breaking over home. You're trying to get on to your
- 26:15family. And that's what I've that exactly, and that's what I was saying.
- 26:22You know a lot of these people that that we're talking about, Man,
- 26:26these people in their fifties, they seix this in their seventies. What
- 26:29who Who? Who's gonna break up? Who gonna break the law and go
- 26:33back after they already know ben in there, They already know been in there.
- 26:36You're talking about twenty five thirty some people. Somebody said the other day
- 26:40forty years that somebody's been locked up. Who won't Who got who? Wants
- 26:45to break the law and end up back there when you've already seen most of
- 26:49your life there. You've lost so much, and then the majority of y'all
- 26:55have been there wrongfully. So you you, you, you, you've lost
- 27:00so much of your life, so much of your life that you can't get
- 27:03back. No amount of money can replace the trauma that you've endured in that
- 27:11place and out of that place. Not only that, the trauma that you
- 27:17have cost your family, because guess what the absence the absence from your family.
- 27:23Yeah, exactly, exactly. And that's what people don't understand. People
- 27:30don't understand that these representatives they go home to their families every night. But
- 27:37these are the ones that have the power to make these decisions and uphold these
- 27:41laws that they put in place. These are laws that they have in place,
- 27:45and they won't even uphold the laws. I constantly reach out to Ron
- 27:48Reynolds and Carlos Sherman, Monica de la Cruz. But these people can go
- 27:55home, they can enjoy their families every single night. I see them on
- 28:03social media. You know, they get to enjoy a milestones, but so
- 28:10many have y'all have missed out on milestones because of the State of Texas.
- 28:17The State of Texas have caused so many people lives to be altered. And
- 28:22this is the things that cannot be taken back, things that cannot be taken
- 28:30back. But I I just I thank you for coming on and and and
- 28:37shedding light too, you know. And I hope everybody else give up the
- 28:44fight, you know, y'all out there, keep praying for us, you
- 28:47know, keep pushing forward. He kind of system, y'all again, that's
- 28:51all we can do is the best weekend and end, Keep fighting out cases,
- 28:55keep writing the course, you know, try to get lorders to take
- 28:57our case. People with will need to be said. I mean, and
- 29:03just hoping created uh God, take you. That's it because a lot of
- 29:10us changed again, but a lot of us has gone in our life.
- 29:14We're not the same people we used to be anyway, period. Right,
- 29:17They're the second chance, right right. So we're definitely putting out a plea
- 29:26tonight. If there's someone that is tuning in. If you are a lawyer,
- 29:32you you do legal work, they're they're in desperate diere need of your
- 29:37assistance. Within the t d C. J. Wow, I've been I've
- 29:48had several complaints about the food within T D C J. Before we leave,
- 29:56I would like for you shed some light on that that situation in Connolly.
- 30:03What what do you what is the food like in Connolly? M H.
- 30:07Food is terrible to be blood, you know, I mean a lot
- 30:14of Johnny's. Johnny's is a brown paper bag with a peanut butter sandwich that
- 30:19consists of uh one one pancake and a biscuit, and and and and a
- 30:27couple of half a couple of half, a white foam, a couple of
- 30:30grips is a breast. They the last couple of days, you know,
- 30:37regular Johnny's in the afternoon on the evening would be a peanut butter sandwich,
- 30:42uh, corn bread, uh, some type of meat sandwich and beef and
- 30:51stuff like that. A baby size scoop on the bread. And it's cold.
- 30:56It's not hot, it's cold. Uh you know anything. It's sad
- 31:02because they got before the kitchen. But for some reason they like they don't
- 31:08want to give give it to us. You're not giving up the problem.
- 31:12Else you're not getting a problenutrition. But right grievouses make complaints another about it,
- 31:19haven't get another about we need outside of help. Well, they're not
- 31:26gonna do nothing. I'm I'm right now. I've been getting complaints about maggots.
- 31:30I've been getting complaints about weak bugs. Somebody said it was weak bugs,
- 31:37somebody. It don't matter what it was, the fact that they were
- 31:40serving it, and it's in your food. It should not be in your
- 31:42food. It should not be in your food. And and and that's a
- 31:47serious issue. I was told that last what about two weeks ago, that
- 31:55the wardens were serving the food, and this was food that the warden was
- 32:00serving, and y'all complained and they brushed it off and whatso, just so
- 32:07happened that on one of the other units they had a carture band phone and
- 32:13was able to take pictures and they had posted it all over the social media
- 32:17site. So then now they go out and investigate because it's on the social
- 32:22media site. So it's a problem, it's an issue. So I get
- 32:24a phone call. I got a phone call asking me about the letter that
- 32:30I wrote. I wrote a letter. I sent it to the to the
- 32:34representative. Whether they respond or not, they gonna keep getting these letters.
- 32:37They gonna keep every time I get a complaint. I'm gonna send a letter
- 32:40out, so they might as well get ready. They might as well get
- 32:44used to it. They until they do something about it. And I'm about
- 32:46to get it. I'm about to get everybody on board that's willing to write,
- 32:51let us with me, and were about to start tag team, and
- 32:53we about to start tearing. These people were about to start knocking their doors
- 32:58down, telling you they they they're gonna have to hire somebody to read.
- 33:02They mayor right, because it makes no sense. It makes no sense.
- 33:09I'm going to get outside work three times a day. We don't get no
- 33:13outside n him man had outside work three times in the then almost three months
- 33:19on outside rip? Whatsoever? I mean we get outside writ what's taking three
- 33:24months? What's the dan t get three months? I'm I'm I'm well,
- 33:30well, so, how how are y'all showers done? Because I've gotten a
- 33:35complaint from one of the women units saying that they getting showers every three days?
- 33:40How you get them showers every three days? They should take the shower
- 33:44every day. That's a a basic human rights. We can showered every day
- 33:50here showers, but uh, they keep feeling us about the outside rip and
- 33:54then the buildings. They don't get dealing like that Rick because they finish short
- 33:59staff. Y'all short stats, short stat, short stat. You can't do
- 34:02outside, you can't do so y'all can't do outside red, y'all can't have
- 34:07day room. Do y'all have any type of educational programs? Bill? I
- 34:17mean right now the school is don't ad any uh on the education ged right
- 34:23now. Yeah. So if if you got your g ED, there's nothing
- 34:28else you can do all right now unless you are put in for higher education
- 34:32and get transferred to another unit. Wow. As far as anything here,
- 34:39anything here is once you get your g ED, put in for something else
- 34:45and then we'll be to another unit. If they have what you want to
- 34:47you looking for, whatever you're looking for. So do they have any type
- 34:51of trade anything that that that you can not at this unit but in other
- 34:55units. So basically they have to move you to another unit. Yeah.
- 35:01Wow, So it's nothing that they so weakness so that the unit you're at
- 35:14just a unit just to be at two to just do time. That there's
- 35:21no there's no rehabilitation, no opportunities, no nothing. You just they're doing
- 35:27time. So if if you if you don't have the will to do nothing,
- 35:34then you could just waste away right there. Wow. So that would
- 35:42explain with why I'm hearing a lot of suicide suicide And I've yet to hear
- 35:51anybody talk about it in the news. I've yet to hear the report about
- 35:55it. But every time somebody come on the show, they're talking about a
- 36:01suicide McConnelly for about two weeks, the every it seemed like every Monday,
- 36:12they was coming on now telling me that somebody had committed suicide on Friday,
- 36:17somebody just committed suicide right before they come on there. And these most of
- 36:23these people are life coaches over in the things, so they are ones that
- 36:29have to go and roam and and and talk to these people and stuff.
- 36:34And I've been hearing them saying that, you know, they want them to
- 36:39start watching these people and and sitting and looking at I said, that's not
- 36:46I don't think that's right. That's that's not a qualification of an inmate to
- 36:52be watching another inmate that made me suicidal. Wow, Then what if they
- 36:59still commit suicide on your watch, then they gonna want to blame you.
- 37:04So no that I don't think they should be having that responsibility. Wow,
- 37:10I'm telling you, Oh, they won't. They don't even want to,
- 37:17Like I don't see SSI's and all these people. At least they can be
- 37:22giving them some some time cuts, some some something, some kind of incentive.
- 37:30It should be some type of insentitive for people that are doing what they're
- 37:35supposed to be doing. You know, I'm not giving up on the governor
- 37:39in this this executive order, because if you can send eleven million dollars to
- 37:44Mississippi the house inmates, then you can take those eleven million dollars and pour
- 37:49it into the state of Texas. And that's what these people, the state
- 37:52of Texas need to be aware of what's going on right up under their notes.
- 37:55They taking money away from y'all to another state. And then and this
- 38:00is no send these people home home that's eligible to go home, Like what
- 38:07is a sixty and seventy year old gonna do out here except for try to
- 38:10live what little bit of life they have left. And that's what I want
- 38:15people to understand. But I want to thank you for stopping by and we'll
- 38:19talk to you soon. Thank you, I tell you. According to a
- 38:24report by the Innocence Project, wrong for convictions are not uncommon in the state
- 38:31of Texas. In fact, in nineteen eighty nine to twenty nineteen, there
- 38:37have been eighty two wrong for convictions, resulting in years of unjust incarceration.
- 38:45The Paroles board inflexible approach has sailed to acknowledge the unique circumstances of these individuals,
- 38:53and it has perpetrated a cycle of justice. Y'all, these are just
- 39:02a tad bit of the stories and the things that are taking place within the
- 39:09TDCJ, the Texas Department of Calmin addresses. I'm telling you, this is
- 39:15nothing that nobody is telling me. I'm wising this for myself. I'm getting
- 39:20the phone calls. I talked to individuals. I was on the phone with
- 39:23the unbuzzed men. I talked to individuals that told me about the maggots and
- 39:29about the warden serving them this food. And they asked the warden, really,
- 39:37this is what y'all saidving us. They laughed, they shrugged, they
- 39:42shrugged it off. And this is what they're doing. They write grievances and
- 39:46what they tell them insufficient evidence, not enough evidence. They keep blocking these
- 39:52people. Y'all. These are people too, They are humans. They have
- 39:57rights and their rights are being violated. God's time out. It's time out.
- 40:02I'm telling you. I'm telling you, y'all. I urge you,
- 40:08I urge you. If you're in the state of Texas, it's time to
- 40:13demand accountability from your elected officials. You need to right your local representatives.
- 40:22Raise awareness in your community, y'all. These are your family members, These
- 40:30say your loved ones that are incarcerated. Support the organizations that are fighting for
- 40:36criminal justice, y'all. There are so many organizations that are fighting for criminal
- 40:39justice and are fighting for the rights of those that are wrongfully and overly incarcerated.
- 40:46Y'all. Together, together, we can work towards a fair and just
- 40:54parole system, judicial system that is truly I'm telling you, we can.
- 41:01We can reform that could be rehabilitation and redemption. Now it's not too late.
- 41:08Just like it took decades for these people to begin this corruption, they've
- 41:14been doing it for three to four decades. Now it's time out for it.
- 41:19It's time for change, and we have our next guest on the line.
- 41:25If you would please introduce yourself. U guess my name is father Tom
- 41:32Jackson, and I think uh take this prisident commonly un okay, sell my
- 41:44story of what happened to me in Dallas County, and uh, I was
- 41:49arrested, uh sixty five o nine for a stout of my looking girlfriend.
- 41:55And uh this was do too. You know, I was wrong. I
- 41:59had to know woman in the house and talking there with and so she got
- 42:02bad and asked me to take it to the hospital. She said that her
- 42:06contact was up in her eye, and so I took it to the hospital.
- 42:09She went in and told the people that I had assaw. I didn't
- 42:13know that this well she was doing. So I was this one for sixty
- 42:17five over nine. Seven days later I was read out which was six twelve
- 42:22o nine due to lack of other dents. But I was give up a
- 42:25pretictive barm. But I asked me everybody the things but the house, and
- 42:30I wanted to get them, and I went and got them. I was
- 42:32re arrested again on what they called him a tooken charge. And then this
- 42:38was the case it made when they had changed it to old nine five five
- 42:45nine seventy six from the experienced casements and nine five seventy five ninety eight.
- 42:52And then what happened was I was in jail after the arrested, but took
- 42:57it in. A year later, I went to travel when it found not
- 43:00give here. So what they did was they gave me a probation and I
- 43:04never got an olcohol it. I was sitting in jail waiting to get out
- 43:07on this probation that they ever got out if I caught upon the lawyer came
- 43:10back and told me we were going to trial, and I asked him how
- 43:14is that. He said, yeah, you got aggravating saw with a daily
- 43:16weapon. And I said, well, how do I have that? And
- 43:19I've been a junie year on the chunking charge. He said, well,
- 43:22they went back to the date of what the head dropped for lack of evidence,
- 43:24and the case which is LA said I got it in that LA both
- 43:30die five seventy five ninety by somebody that year. And he said they went
- 43:36to know and went upskilled the your charges. I said, well, how
- 43:37did they do that? If I've been in jail the whole year, how
- 43:40could this person have a serious eye injury? And they said, oh,
- 43:44well, they say they got instance. I said, okay, So we
- 43:46waited and waiting, I'll find it with the trial. Then I was found
- 43:50guilty of aggravating saw with a daily women. They said, my hands was
- 43:53a whopen, and I took martial arts still snow wherever did some trial for
- 43:58uh. The girl had said that I handled on our car, brain damage,
- 44:01the injuries and all that. Well, they found out a trial that
- 44:07wasn't true due to delic But they still wouldn't get a medical doctor, an
- 44:12expert doctor, to prove that these injuries, that scratch, which is called
- 44:15corne of the bridge, was already gone injury due to her pigeon, which
- 44:20was twenty ten digeon, which is the exceptional pigeon. So I asked my
- 44:24lawyer, I said, man, why can't we can explain medical witness?
- 44:28And he said, what duty you being? And images in the court aporting
- 44:30attorneys, you are not allowed to have experimental with I didn't know anything about
- 44:37lawing or anything about court like that, so I accepted it blindly. Well
- 44:40we went caught up, I got tried, I got give it, gave
- 44:44it for years, navigated. You know, of course I do have the
- 44:46records from I grew up a while I was he with her, no father,
- 44:50in the single mother home. You know, it didn't have anything to
- 44:53do with you, my mother aid, and I was just running with the
- 44:55crowd. So yeah, I had a couple of cases, you know,
- 44:59the and a bad kid. So they used all that on me and everything.
- 45:02They gave me fun. They act this never happened. I never did
- 45:07anything. He was just Gil and all. But I remember one day we
- 45:12were laying together and talking and she kept wiping her eyes with a painting time
- 45:15and I ass was wrong and she said, well, some years ago the
- 45:19baby had squashed it and the I was playing car keys, and so you
- 45:23know, maybe that's what it was. But it never did that because its
- 45:27been so good at the time. It was became beautiful because it wasn't about
- 45:30so I attacked him somebody chicken. So but if you had been about the
- 45:35eyes, she could have played like she see so well at the time.
- 45:38Any way, to hold this sort doesn't play it that I got given all
- 45:42this time. You know, that was County. I mean maybe it was
- 45:45fire because that was county is a racially motivated county. You know, a
- 45:51lot of the Jerry trials was based on racial motivation, you know, And
- 45:53uh, I don't played it racially. But I found out a report that
- 45:58came out the way I'm back that they but that's the way it deals,
- 46:01you know. So I tried to, uh maybe I was giving an attorney
- 46:07for appeal, and uh, she fever really did anything, you know.
- 46:10And right now I'm just asking me if I could have someone to you know,
- 46:15help me buile something to get me back in court, give me a
- 46:16lawyer that would really be fair for me, so that I could get out
- 46:20of here, you know, because at the age then and that now,
- 46:22I still won't get out of prout you well to my sixtees, you know,
- 46:27for something you know that was I mean, I was wrong for being
- 46:30you know from Mischi incidents place that you live up there. That was my
- 46:34fault. But you know it's good and not to love me like that and
- 46:37that to say that. And I've never been a boxer karate and so reach
- 46:43you by, you know, to someone who would do the right thing,
- 46:45you know, and give me, you know, help me get justice that
- 46:49I deserve, because I really didn't deserve. And you so what classified?
- 46:53What? What what made? Who? Who authorized them? What? How
- 47:00did they label your hands as a dealy weapon? Because in trial they asked
- 47:06the gil how long have y'all been together? She said, oh, well,
- 47:08we was together for a while, and he had troopers in the house
- 47:13boxing and karate troopers, so maybe that was coerced through the dye or whatever,
- 47:17because I never had none of that. So instead of they'll investigating,
- 47:22no, they went on they did not even uh check the sea if that
- 47:24was true. And they and it's still in the the transcript, so they
- 47:28believe that they used it as truth. And even after in trial fout that
- 47:32he learned that and that he claimed out here, they didn't find it no
- 47:36other careca they still got it in the transcript. So you know, it's
- 47:39a lot of day that wasn't done, you know. And so I had
- 47:43told him about the other girl and that DA didn't want the other gil to
- 47:47come to trial. And then my lawyer, i mean my manager that I
- 47:52worked for it for my job, came and testifying. He is also a
- 47:54minister in the church, and he told him that this bill was coming up
- 47:58on this job several times trying to see who this other girl was. And
- 48:01he said that she had said all kinds of things about me that he witnessed
- 48:06himself that hadn't been true about me, you know, And he said,
- 48:08this man in the bodybuilding I'm looking at the all on this man. I
- 48:12don't I don't see him being any drug gaining glace, he said, the
- 48:15music. It comes to work on time, you know. And I gave
- 48:17him money. I kept her hampings for it anything. But it was still
- 48:21like I was resting with the other young lady was okay, I was,
- 48:24but she started doing all this creaking stuff. I wouldn't try to never done
- 48:30that, you know, but that cost me all this time and stuff like
- 48:32that. So wow, yeah, wow, you know I'm sitting up with
- 48:40it all this time, you know, and h you know, I've been
- 48:44gone ever since, but that's something with her weight, so you know,
- 48:47and you know, I just I really need somebody. I tried to attack
- 48:51it myself, but I am not destined in the law and all. I
- 48:54really didn't know what I was doing. I was going to lawla very every
- 48:58day time, you know, the persons I could because I couldn't have poort
- 49:01an attorney. And so yeah, I mean, I'm trying to see if
- 49:07I can be someone to him, you know, go back in there.
- 49:10You know. Wow, So you need you're you're needing someone to get you
- 49:22back into court or what what is it that your need? And yeah,
- 49:30I'm needing to go back and court, and I'm needing to get uh you
- 49:34know, be a subpoeno to you know, and and explain witness and also
- 49:38to you know, bring the people back. The one person that justified on
- 49:40my behalf with my manager, you know, and he can testify to the
- 49:45hot girl was coming up on a job and everything, and then all the
- 49:47other this is already there about a line about the middle damage and the line
- 49:51about uh me calling and man even proved on the import he said, well,
- 49:54all these fault calls were coming from your phone to his phone. So
- 50:00if you're afraid of this man hurt, why was you calling this man that
- 50:02minute of tea time? You know? And I was trying to stay away
- 50:07from you. So she did what she could do to get me down there.
- 50:09That that was ever there, That was juice. But they never even
- 50:13get credit, you know, I mean, they didn't music. But it's
- 50:15just brought up in court. If you afraid of me, if I'm trying
- 50:19to hurt you while you calling me every day out be like you, I'm
- 50:21trying to be away, I mean, that should have been a red flag
- 50:24on your behalf. It should have. It should have a light should have
- 50:31went out. So well, okay, well maybe there might be some truth
- 50:36to what this man is saying, like the transcript and then be long.
- 50:39You hedn't see me, wama be still care about me. She even told
- 50:43my life why didn't you get a letter? Because doctor he said, oh,
- 50:45well why didn't you? She said, you got the same to Peter
- 50:49Paul Roddy that's in the transcripts office. So they let you know. I
- 50:52didn't get a fair trial at all. I just had a fair trial.
- 50:57Yeah, so I didn't know it and he couldn't an experience putting stock,
- 51:02and there's no way I would have made it down because they know no one
- 51:06could see that well with a fresh punch in the eye which caused the stretch
- 51:10on the red though, there would be no way would have twenty pigs,
- 51:15which is exceptional. Beason, you know. Wow, Yeah, I am
- 51:22to my old cricket Dallas County. You know, the whole state of Texas
- 51:27is cricket because this is this is a pattern. This is a pattern,
- 51:30I'm telling you. Yeah. And Greig Harkins was the leading attorney, or
- 51:37this attorney, but he didn't know anything about it. And I had been
- 51:39trying to write it, but I never heard of thating back, so it
- 51:42was consistent that did he knew. You know, these people been running this
- 51:46kind of uh court, facilitating court for many year. They're experts. They
- 51:51know when they got a moterfi li xit claim, and they know when it's
- 51:53a wash, you know. And so yeah, they knew it was all
- 51:57dirty. It was corrupted the whole thing. Okay, yep, I'm asking
- 52:04try trying to help a lot, you know, you know I can it
- 52:10can it can help happened if somebody will, you know, just ex give
- 52:15me the help that I need. I've been trying to study a little bit
- 52:20a lot without I'm being that's what I need. I need. Well,
- 52:28we definitely gonna be sharing your story. Hopefully someone will hear this and be
- 52:31able to assist. Maybe someone that's in school. We have some some colleges,
- 52:40some some college students that's doing law schools, so hopefully one of them
- 52:45will may be tuning in and peak their interest or peak their group interest or
- 52:52somebody's interest and they want to get involved. But I'm gonna be sharing it.
- 53:00I am planning a trip to Texas soon the beginning of the year.
- 53:05We're gonna be doing some rallies, some marches, and some community events trying
- 53:09to bring some awareness and gather getting some individuals together to be a part of
- 53:16what is going on and to bring awareness hopefully to get some of these legislators
- 53:22and some of these representatives on their job, because it's gonna take them to
- 53:29do what they're supposed to do. No, no, hold them accountable.
- 53:34That's that's that's our job. That's that's what we're gonna be doing, making
- 53:37them be accountable for those laws that they have in place that they are not
- 53:43withholding and upholding. So that that's that's what we're gonna be doing. So
- 53:49I definitely thank you for stopping by. Yeah, I mean, daughter,
- 54:00you know, and I have to say, a boy, the graces do
- 54:01out somebody who was here and would be cut. Can't you actually do assist?
- 54:08You know? And that's one thing I prayed for every day. Yeah,
- 54:15I mean, I guess you like we said, you know, my
- 54:16lady told me she had been to have a bill over her face and she
- 54:20told me, she said, I have a fee assis. She said,
- 54:22don't let me keep bother me. She said, you're gonna be all right,
- 54:25Yes, she said just be patient and said, God, it's gonna
- 54:28get you out of it. And I said, if I didn't even know
- 54:30that, she knew something was wrong. Man. And so I'm just baby,
- 54:34believe me. So I'm I'm I'm hopeful that you know, I'll have
- 54:38such less, you know, And it is he's at working, he's at
- 54:46working, he is at working. So just keep just keep the faith and
- 54:52just hold on. Help. The help has a rhyme. Help has a
- 54:58rhyme. Right, help has a you for me and I And it's okay
- 55:01if I were number to be contacted by ours so that extecutive work, Yeah,
- 55:07you can say whatever, okay, And uh, the number that I
- 55:10should be contacted at it would be my mother's home and the number nine seventy
- 55:15two eight two or twenty nine forty nine. And she's in the Solo Tech.
- 55:22It's here in Dallas County, but it's the Soda, Texas city.
- 55:24And I mean, if someone decides to help me, you know that it
- 55:29would be good to uh contact say where you are. You know, you
- 55:31can write that letter here as the human. Of course, the letters don't
- 55:36come directly here. They go to a peeled out to Dallas you know,
- 55:40that's why I pull most to put the number out there. And the Solo
- 55:45Texas that's where Representative car Old Sherman, that's where he he represents that place,
- 55:52the Solo so Car Representive car Old Sherman. Yeah, we're coming for
- 56:01you, paul o' sherman. Yes, yeah, he he follows, He
- 56:07follows, the free takes his campaign. He always giving us thumbs up some
- 56:12stuff. This is a situation that we need your thumb up on this one.
- 56:17So if you're hearing this, we need you, sir, to get
- 56:21involved. We don't just need your thumbs up. We need you to get
- 56:24involved. We need you to speak up and stand up and hold your your
- 56:29counterparts accountable. That's what we need you to do. So, yeah,
- 56:34he is the representative from the Soto. He's from the Soto, carl O.
- 56:39Sherman. Yes, the Soto d E is d E s O t
- 56:45O. Yeah, that's where he from. That's that's that's the place he
- 56:52represents, the Soto. Paul o' sherman senior. He's a senior, okay,
- 57:01so you know he may have a junior that we're do around there.
- 57:06So yeah, yeah, yeah, so yeah, that's that to the person
- 57:10to have something to come about like this, because I think they already know
- 57:14that that is Taub working you because he sees something to look like that and
- 57:19he didn't too mad and take some positions like that to be continue to be
- 57:23and use people that can't afford the proper attorneys and anything like that. You
- 57:30know, like they said you had money to get an attorney, you wouldn't
- 57:32even be it. You know, as lawyers they have to do their probolo
- 57:37service. You know, they just do whatever just for their little chicken go.
- 57:40You know. Yeah, you know, Well, we're putting the plea
- 57:45out there, is that the plea has been made, and we just need
- 57:51people to be accountable. We need to see people to do their jobs and
- 57:54stand up and and to do what they've been elected to do. Because they
- 58:00don't do what they've been elected to do, We're finna get them up out
- 58:01of there. Just praying part blank period. We're getting them up out of
- 58:07there. We're gonna get some people in there that want to do what they're
- 58:09supposed to do and truly have the people at heart, because that's what it's
- 58:14all about. It's not about that that that that quarter of a million dollars
- 58:17that they that they pocketed in salary. That's what they are getting in there
- 58:22for. But if they're getting in there for the wrong reasons, so it's
