- 0:00Speaker 1: Time now for back to the basics and healthcare with
- 0:02Speaker 1: Balance Life Chiropractic, and I have doctor Harley joining me. Hello,
- 0:05Speaker 1: doctor Harley, Hey John, we've got our first snow of
- 0:08Speaker 1: the year is behind us now. That happened on Saturday,
- 0:11Speaker 1: and there's probably some people out there. Even though this
- 0:12Speaker 1: wasn't like a big heavy got to go out and
- 0:14Speaker 1: shovel a whole lot. There are people that you know,
- 0:16Speaker 1: when you have a little ice on the ground, will
- 0:18Speaker 1: snow on the ground, you walk differently, it's cold out.
- 0:20Speaker 1: All of a sudden, you're like, oh, I'm sore here,
- 0:22Speaker 1: I'm sore there. And sometimes related to that snow right.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Right, And maybe you woke up the next day after
- 0:28Speaker 2: moving some of the snow and you're like, oh, I'm
- 0:30Speaker 2: so sore. Oh, it'll get better in a few days.
- 0:33Speaker 2: And you know it's a few days later now and
- 0:35Speaker 2: you're like, I'm still really sore from that.
- 0:37Speaker 1: And sometimes we just go, wow, I'm getting old. That
- 0:39Speaker 1: must be what it is. Well, maybe that's what it is,
- 0:42Speaker 1: but maybe you could see a chiropractor and get things
- 0:45Speaker 1: adjusted and aligned and then you have that recovery time
- 0:47Speaker 1: kind of speeds up.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Right, That's yeah, something we want to talk about today
- 0:50Speaker 2: was recovery time. That's a huge thing that people notice
- 0:53Speaker 2: when they are, you know, seeing a chiropractor on a
- 0:55Speaker 2: regular basis. You know whatever that means to you on
- 0:58Speaker 2: a regular basis, but you know it just it really
- 1:00Speaker 2: helps with recovering from extra exertion. Your weekend warrior projects
- 1:05Speaker 2: we talked about over the summer. Now we're getting into
- 1:07Speaker 2: winter where we're you know, we're sitting more and then
- 1:11Speaker 2: we have huge bursts of energy when we have to
- 1:13Speaker 2: remove all that snow and we overdo it a little bit.
- 1:16Speaker 2: We don't think we do, but our muscles like, hey,
- 1:18Speaker 2: we've been on the winter vacation, and now you're making
- 1:21Speaker 2: me work harder.
- 1:22Speaker 1: I carried thousands of pounds of stuff down the steps,
- 1:24Speaker 1: so I definitely know what you're talking about where you're
- 1:27Speaker 1: working on a basement. So carrying all this stuff, I'm like,
- 1:30Speaker 1: and then we're going to go through it and we're
- 1:31Speaker 1: going to realize we don't need it, and now I
- 1:32Speaker 1: can carry it all back out.
- 1:34Speaker 2: What is all this? But it's down there for when
- 1:36Speaker 2: you need it.
- 1:36Speaker 1: It's out of my way. So hopefully I'll be able
- 1:38Speaker 1: to park in the garage. But if somebody is waking
- 1:40Speaker 1: up going I'm a little stiff, I'm a little sore.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Chiropractic helps in so many ways, but how does it
- 1:45Speaker 1: help with the situation like that?
- 1:47Speaker 2: So think of it is, you know, if everything's moving
- 1:49Speaker 2: like it's supposed to efficiently. Our body is very biomechanically sound,
- 1:53Speaker 2: very efficient. If things aren't moving the way they're designed,
- 1:57Speaker 2: that puts more work, more load on your muscle, which
- 2:00Speaker 2: are the movers, right, But if you know their mechanism
- 2:03Speaker 2: for moving isn't moving like it's supposed to, they have
- 2:06Speaker 2: no work harder and not smarter. We always want to
- 2:09Speaker 2: work smarter, not harder, right, Yes, you know, then they're
- 2:12Speaker 2: they're going to be more likely to have, you know,
- 2:15Speaker 2: damage to the micro tears, be more sore achey. So
- 2:19Speaker 2: chiropracticing up with preventing that in the first place, you know,
- 2:22Speaker 2: by making sure that your body's moving like it's supposed to.
- 2:25Speaker 2: And then after that sort of exertion and you're sore
- 2:28Speaker 2: and achey tired, the adjusting is going to help your
- 2:30Speaker 2: body to recover faster because it's helping your brain send
- 2:33Speaker 2: you know, important healing nutrients and just coordinating that healing
- 2:37Speaker 2: factor in a more timely manner that's going to help
- 2:40Speaker 2: your body to heal faster.
- 2:41Speaker 1: If this is something maybe somebody listening right now is going, Man,
- 2:44Speaker 1: I've I've had some issues and I feel like it
- 2:47Speaker 1: takes longer for me to get better as I'm getting older. Again,
- 2:50Speaker 1: it might not have so much to do with getting older.
- 2:52Speaker 1: It might have to do with just things not being
- 2:54Speaker 1: in alignment and your body not communicating. How do they
- 2:57Speaker 1: connect with you to set up an appointment to see
- 2:59Speaker 1: if there's you can do to help.
- 3:01Speaker 2: And you know, as we get older, things do slow
- 3:03Speaker 2: down more, but so older age can be a factor
- 3:07Speaker 2: to it. But just because we're getting older doesn't mean
- 3:08Speaker 2: we have to deal with being old. You know, aches
- 3:12Speaker 2: and pains of being older, And the simplest way is
- 3:14Speaker 2: really just get a new patient appointment set up. You
