- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with I our Radio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: We are back on the Almost Famous podcast and the
- 0:09Speaker 2: time has finally come. Ashley is a Real Housewife of
- 0:13Speaker 2: Rhode Island, and who better. We teased it, we talked
- 0:17Speaker 2: about it. We vetted hundreds of co hosts for these episodes. Specifically,
- 0:27Speaker 2: we found the most talented, the most in touch, the
- 0:29Speaker 2: one willing to share. Ashley's sister, Lauren Hella Connetti.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Hello, everyone, I know her best, So who else but good?
- 0:39Speaker 2: Two of you talk?
- 0:41Speaker 3: Oh well, probably FaceTime four times today, which is crazy,
- 0:49Speaker 3: I mean, and then the text in between it's a lot.
- 0:51Speaker 3: I mean. Hunter is very patient, Jared is very patient
- 0:55Speaker 3: because like, we'll just have each other on FaceTime no
- 0:57Speaker 3: matter what we're doing, you know. So we talk a
- 1:00Speaker 3: lot now everything.
- 1:02Speaker 2: I cannot think of a better person do this with.
- 1:04Speaker 2: I can't get her away from the Ikeneties, and I
- 1:07Speaker 2: honestly don't want to. Okay, So we've talked about why
- 1:14Speaker 2: you're qualified to co host this show because of your
- 1:18Speaker 2: relationship with one of the housewives, your sister, Ashley. What
- 1:23Speaker 2: is your knowledge of the house Wives franchise leading up
- 1:28Speaker 2: to Real Housewives Rhode Island.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Well, I watched the oe G New York. No one
- 1:34Speaker 3: can beat Ramona Sonia Luan, like, like, no one can
- 1:39Speaker 3: beat them, okay so much that they like recast in
- 1:43Speaker 3: New York and it was a total failure because nothing's
- 1:45Speaker 3: gonna be as interesting. And then I watch a little
- 1:47Speaker 3: bit of Beverly Hills and that was you know, it's fine,
- 1:51Speaker 3: It's okay. Yeah, never watched Jersey, but this seems to
- 1:56Speaker 3: be kind of comparable. Rhode Island seems to be comparable
- 2:00Speaker 3: to New Jersey with the accents and the look kind
- 2:03Speaker 3: of And I know everyone's saying the cast of Real
- 2:06Speaker 3: Housewives of Rhode Island they all look exactly the same,
- 2:09Speaker 3: but I can say confidently after watching the first episode
- 2:12Speaker 3: like three times in a row, I can tell them apart.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Now what do you think?
- 2:17Speaker 2: Yeah, it's wild to me watch. I have a lot
- 2:20Speaker 2: of thoughts on this first episode quite honestly. They they
- 2:24Speaker 2: all do action more. I've been to Rhode Island so
- 2:26Speaker 2: many times. Yeah, and I haven't ran into these type
- 2:30Speaker 2: of Rhode Islands.
- 2:32Speaker 3: I know they're og Rhode Islanders. Like the accent is
- 2:34Speaker 3: so hard to believe that it is real, Like, how
- 2:36Speaker 3: can you say cracker like that and be like that
- 2:39Speaker 3: is correct English. You know the kracker like you just
- 2:43Speaker 3: know that's wrong. So I mean I think I've met
- 2:45Speaker 3: some of these like og Rhode Islanders through Jared, like
- 2:48Speaker 3: some of his like cousins and stuff. Like they are
- 2:51Speaker 3: kind of like this, like rough around the edges, like
- 2:54Speaker 3: not very quiet people. It is very Jersey like.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Uh okay, So we've covered your background and Housewives, We've
- 3:01Speaker 2: covered that you are Ashley's sister. Did you know anyone
- 3:05Speaker 2: from this cast coming into the season.
- 3:09Speaker 3: I only met Rosie. She's one of Ashley's closest friends.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Down they're like friends, right, yeah, actual friends, not.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Fit friends, they're real friends. They love, as they said
- 3:20Speaker 3: in the show, they love like teeny bopper stuff. But
- 3:23Speaker 3: Rosie is like a friend that she made later in life.
- 3:26Speaker 3: That is the kind of person that you need like
- 3:28Speaker 3: no energy for, no social battery for. And that's why
- 3:30Speaker 3: I love Rosie so much because she comes over to
- 3:32Speaker 3: Ash's house. They'll sit on the couch and they'll watch movies.
- 3:36Speaker 3: They'll play with Dawson and Hayden, and she's just chill,
- 3:40Speaker 3: so chill, chill all day. So I really appreciate that
- 3:42Speaker 3: and I'm glad that Ashley has like a true friend
- 3:44Speaker 3: in Rhode Island that she can just like do anything with.
- 3:47Speaker 3: So that's a true friendship. They're all actually friends, but
- 3:51Speaker 3: she's Rosie's the only one that I've ever really met.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Ashley obviously has not been able to give us too
- 3:55Speaker 2: many details because by the time she committed to going
- 3:58Speaker 2: on the show, head pretty much just started and so
- 4:02Speaker 2: we haven't gotten the behind the scenes. Do you remember
- 4:06Speaker 2: when Ashley was asked to consider being a housewife?
- 4:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm kind of honestly, kind of vaguely because she
- 4:13Speaker 3: gets like calls all the time to go on.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Shows and stuff, and she's a big deal.
- 4:17Speaker 3: She's a pretty big deal. And I know, first off,
- 4:19Speaker 3: want to say, like how proud I am of actually,
- 4:21Speaker 3: because she's she's made like so much and I know
- 4:25Speaker 3: she's like a housewife, like it's just a housewife, but
- 4:27Speaker 3: like she's made so much out of her like five
- 4:29Speaker 3: week stint on like Bachelor and then just on and
- 4:34Speaker 3: on and on, and it's like because she just never
- 4:36Speaker 3: stops and she's always hustling, and she works really hard,
- 4:39Speaker 3: even though people proclaim and she doesn't have a job,
- 4:42Speaker 3: she works very very hard. But she got a call
- 4:45Speaker 3: and they said we're gonna do Housewives Rhode Island. And
- 4:47Speaker 3: I was like, that's a very weird stage to do
- 4:49Speaker 3: Housewives on, but okay, So I was like, you should
- 4:53Speaker 3: definitely do it because it's huge. Like I'm a hairstylist
- 4:55Speaker 3: and I have a lot of clients that watch Real
- 4:57Speaker 3: Housewives and they'll talk to me about it so much,
- 4:59Speaker 3: oh and over and over it and it's such a big
- 5:01Speaker 3: deal and there's Bravo Kahn and I'm like, you have,
- 5:04Speaker 3: you have to do this. And she was concerned obviously,
- 5:07Speaker 3: because people really dig into your personal life and you know,
- 5:12Speaker 3: not all relationships last, and people get in huge fights
- 5:16Speaker 3: and they dig things up from your past and you know,
- 5:19Speaker 3: things you shouldn't be worried about and things that have
- 5:21Speaker 3: happened with past housewives. But I'm like, you've already put
- 5:24Speaker 3: everything out there, You've already you already show ninety nine
- 5:28Speaker 3: percent of your life, So like, let's just say yes
- 5:30Speaker 3: and you know, keep this in going. So I told
- 5:34Speaker 3: her a little bit of the rundown too, because she
- 5:36Speaker 3: never watch Housewives either. She watched a little bit in
- 5:38Speaker 3: New York, but never really watched it before, so I
- 5:41Speaker 3: give her like the rundown of what it was going
- 5:42Speaker 3: to be like.
- 5:43Speaker 2: And if we're honest, I mean, Ashley is such a
- 5:46Speaker 2: great character for this show. She's a great person to
- 5:50Speaker 2: have on your television screen. She steps up to the plate.
- 5:53Speaker 2: But Ashley doesn't have like skeletons that can necessarily even
- 5:57Speaker 2: be like so true what they find out about Ashley.
- 6:01Speaker 2: I know, I know she got like a be in
- 6:03Speaker 2: history or something.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Like like there's yeah, there's nothing to pull out there,
- 6:08Speaker 3: but yeah, she is like a very sweet girl and
- 6:10Speaker 3: she has no skeletons, which is also why I was like,
- 6:12Speaker 3: are you even going to be good at this housewiter thing?
- 6:14Speaker 3: Because you kind of have to be cutthroat. So it
- 6:17Speaker 3: was very funny after filming to hear the call movie
- 6:21Speaker 3: so what was drama today? And like what did you say?
- 6:24Speaker 3: And I mean, you guys, I can't give too much away,
- 6:26Speaker 3: but she has great reactions to drama that isn't directly
- 6:30Speaker 3: affecting her. It's basically her role here.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, so far we're gonna dive into episode
- 6:36Speaker 2: one now, Yeah, so far and Ashley, I'm trying to
- 6:41Speaker 2: think back in the Goodness eleven years. I've known her crazy.
- 6:45Speaker 2: It's crazy, it's crazy, you know. I've been around so
- 6:49Speaker 2: many weird situations with Ashley. She she isn't verbally mean
- 6:55Speaker 2: or I can't remember her being, but her eyes and
- 6:58Speaker 2: facial expressions. Yeah, which, if they can capture that, we'll
- 7:04Speaker 2: tell a story. But I don't know if it's gonna
- 7:07Speaker 2: necessarily get her in trouble on this show, because it
- 7:09Speaker 2: feels like these women really are more interested in what's
- 7:13Speaker 2: said and not set like really what's said, not even what's.
- 7:16Speaker 3: Not set right. Yeah, Yeah, she can't hide her emotions
- 7:20Speaker 3: at all. We know that she like definitely rolls her
- 7:23Speaker 3: eyes at things, and then also in the interviews after
- 7:27Speaker 3: the fact, she says some more like candid things, so
- 7:32Speaker 3: she may roll her eyes in the moment or like cringe,
- 7:35Speaker 3: and then you'll get her real thoughts in the interviews.
- 7:37Speaker 3: So I'm looking forward to that. I have no idea
- 7:39Speaker 3: what she says in those, but yeah, this first episode
- 7:43Speaker 3: is basically all about Kelsey and how she has two
- 7:47Speaker 3: boyfriends and her one boyfriend has two girlfriends or something,
- 7:51Speaker 3: and if we're getting into all of that, I don't
- 7:54Speaker 3: understand why Kelsey would be at all bothered by someone
- 7:58Speaker 3: inquiring about her relationship, like that's what you do? You say,
- 8:01Speaker 3: how are you and how is your relationship? And she's like,
- 8:04Speaker 3: don't ask about I'm like, if it wasn't taboo, then
- 8:08Speaker 3: you would be okay with us asking, you know, so
- 8:10Speaker 3: I'll bealely. Something is weird about it, you know.
- 8:12Speaker 2: It's the storyline that felt like when they found out
- 8:16Speaker 2: about it, or maybe they did beforehand. Yeah, the show
- 8:18Speaker 2: said this is a home run and again we're in
- 8:21Speaker 2: Rhode Island. This is Real Housewives Rhode Island. It starts
- 8:25Speaker 2: the episode saying that it's a small state with the
- 8:29Speaker 2: biggest attitude. The intro kind of goes through each character.
- 8:33Speaker 2: I'm just going to go through them by name because
- 8:35Speaker 2: you're gonna have to watch this show to understand who
- 8:38Speaker 2: we're talking about and what we're talking about. And everybody
- 8:40Speaker 2: listening has watched the show. We have Alicia, Liz, Rosie, Joe, Ellen, Rula, Kelsey, Ashley, Liz,
- 8:51Speaker 2: and Liz. That's the final. Liz is the final kind
- 8:54Speaker 2: of character. And then they run through all these people's
- 8:58Speaker 2: homes and kind of their personal lives. We really don't
- 9:02Speaker 2: meet Rula in episode one. I don't. It says in
- 9:04Speaker 2: the intro that she's a boss.
- 9:06Speaker 3: Yeah, she comes in in the next episode, and she
- 9:09Speaker 3: is the most interesting storyline in this whole season. And
- 9:14Speaker 3: if you guys watch the episode one, you have to
- 9:16Speaker 3: go to episode two. Like, if you're on interested in
- 9:19Speaker 3: episode one, you have to go to episode two because
- 9:21Speaker 3: that's when Rula comes in and there is so much
- 9:23Speaker 3: drama and it's kind of one of the juicy things
- 9:26Speaker 3: I've seen on housewives. So stick around.
- 9:30Speaker 2: There's a reason she's kind of I mean, like every
- 9:32Speaker 2: other reality show, you save your biggest character for later on. Yeah,
- 9:37Speaker 2: we meet Alicia first. Yeah, Alicia is uh, she has
- 9:42Speaker 2: a fiance, Billy. They own a bunch of restaurants in
- 9:45Speaker 2: Rhode Island, m h. In fact, I don't think I've
- 9:48Speaker 2: been to any of those. I have any either, actually,
- 9:51Speaker 2: but they're restaurant tours. Yeah, they're gonna be crazy busy,
- 9:55Speaker 2: along with Audrey's good Yeah, and good for generous because
- 9:58Speaker 2: they do buy generous coffee. Thanks to Ashley and Jared
- 10:01Speaker 2: for being the best as of friends and Ali. Okay,
- 10:06Speaker 2: here's where we're gonna have to tie the dots and
- 10:07Speaker 2: you're gonna have to help me keep track of my
- 10:10Speaker 2: Alisha has known Liz since she was a kid. Yes,
- 10:16Speaker 2: so we meet Liz next. Liz has a gorgeous house.
- 10:20Speaker 3: On the water, walks her cat on a leash.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Yes, very like fun opening. So does my mom when
- 10:27Speaker 2: she had a cat, she was also cat walker. No shame,
- 10:31Speaker 2: just a lot of confusion, no matter what there. Liz
- 10:35Speaker 2: is married to Gary now. Gary has three daughters from
- 10:38Speaker 2: a previous relationship. They own some cannabis shops around Rhode Island.
- 10:42Speaker 2: He's actually known as the Cannabis King. This gets only
- 10:46Speaker 2: weird to me. Okay, so again Alicia knows Liz when
- 10:50Speaker 2: like it just kind of passed over that they're related,
- 10:52Speaker 2: and like why was that added?
- 10:54Speaker 3: Which I don't know why that was added a storyline.
- 10:57Speaker 2: It was just said like hey, we're like you want
- 11:00Speaker 2: to be called daddy, which really made it weird for me.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I didn't like that. I didn't like that at all.
- 11:05Speaker 3: It didn't come back around. Maybe it will come back around,
- 11:07Speaker 3: And I don't.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Know why I would unless like really closely related, like a.
- 11:11Speaker 3: Really interesting tidbot that they that they needed to add.
- 11:14Speaker 3: That didn't add anything to the show.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Okay, So Liz and Alicia. Our friends Liz and Kelsey
- 11:20Speaker 2: are friends, which is where we're introduced to Kelsey. Kelsey
- 11:23Speaker 2: lives a very luxurious lifestyle. Her house is huge. As
- 11:28Speaker 2: you mentioned, Kelsey is the biggest kind of storyline from
- 11:32Speaker 2: this episode. Kelsey's boyfriend comes from one of the most
- 11:35Speaker 2: prominent families in the state of Rhode Island. Interesting tidbit.
- 11:38Speaker 2: I've tried a deep dive on who her boyfriend actually is.
- 11:41Speaker 2: It's very hard to find out.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I actually have never seen a picture of him,
- 11:45Speaker 3: but I also haven't tried that hard. So I will
- 11:47Speaker 3: come back and I will have a picture of him
- 11:50Speaker 3: or a little more information and make it not so
- 11:53Speaker 3: like elusive but biggest drama. But honestly, like I'm sorry Kelsey,
- 11:58Speaker 3: but like she gives us the little least personality too here.
- 12:02Speaker 3: I feel bad saying it, but like I don't know
- 12:04Speaker 3: who she is, and I don't know if any of
- 12:07Speaker 3: the cast really does. I think that's kind of why
- 12:10Speaker 3: she's depressed, honestly, because she's been with this guy for
- 12:13Speaker 3: ten years, years and ten years, and like she hasn't
- 12:16Speaker 3: explored anything else, and I think maybe she's lost herself
- 12:19Speaker 3: a little bit, which is why she does not want
- 12:22Speaker 3: to talk about it, but yes, Kelsey is a great
- 12:25Speaker 3: source of drama. Very beautiful, stunning.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Stunningly beautiful. They met when she was nineteen. Now, oh
- 12:33Speaker 2: my god, she's spent ten years living this luxurious lifestyle
- 12:37Speaker 2: and if you need to stay at home, want to
- 12:40Speaker 2: stay at home. She calls it leisure, like a leisure
- 12:43Speaker 2: luxury lifestyle. That's great with me. However, here's my concern immediately,
- 12:51Speaker 2: and it could just be like my old man like
- 12:54Speaker 2: dad mentality coming out love. It is you're just dating
- 12:58Speaker 2: this dude, yea, and he you have openly said, he's
- 13:03Speaker 2: gone for months with this other person in Miami, meaning
- 13:07Speaker 2: there is no contractual ties to when you break up,
- 13:10Speaker 2: if you break up, that you have anything to your name.
- 13:14Speaker 2: So you've lived this really beautiful, big, luxurious lifestyle for
- 13:18Speaker 2: ten years since you're nineteen. It's all you know, and
- 13:22Speaker 2: this guy isn't willing to commit to you or promise
- 13:25Speaker 2: you that you will be supported long term. That's where
- 13:29Speaker 2: I would say, hey, it's probably smart to get a job,
- 13:34Speaker 2: like yeah, you know, you're really putting all the cards
- 13:38Speaker 2: on the table. This dude is not going to say
- 13:39Speaker 2: goodbye to you at some point, and it sounds like
- 13:42Speaker 2: after ten years. If I was her father, i'd say, hey,
- 13:46Speaker 2: make him commit.
- 13:47Speaker 3: One hundred scent. And he was never going to commit,
- 13:50Speaker 3: Like I think he's made that clear to her. He
- 13:51Speaker 3: was never going to commit. But it would have been
- 13:54Speaker 3: amazing to have this game plan. First of all, get
- 13:57Speaker 3: all the gifts and jewelry you can because you don't
- 14:00Speaker 3: have to give those back, so that would have been smart.
- 14:04Speaker 3: Hopefully she did that. Secondly, hone a skill while you're
- 14:07Speaker 3: living in this mansion. Maybe she did do that and
- 14:09Speaker 3: we just got it. And obviously save all this money
- 14:12Speaker 3: because you're not paying rent or mortgage or anything for
- 14:16Speaker 3: the past eleven ten years. So I don't think she's
- 14:21Speaker 3: going to Yeah, I don't think she's gonna see light
- 14:25Speaker 3: at the end of tunnel and she's gonna marry this man.
- 14:27Speaker 3: I think she should start dating other people. It sounds
- 14:30Speaker 3: like she already has because there was they were alluding
- 14:33Speaker 3: to her having another boyfriend with the gifts and stuff.
- 14:36Speaker 3: So I'm happy that she's at least dating other people.
- 14:39Speaker 3: So we'll see what happens there.
- 14:41Speaker 2: This is the underlying storyline really through the episode is
- 14:44Speaker 2: people begin to ask Kelsey about her relationship and she's
- 14:48Speaker 2: it's a very sensitive subject and we know it's sensitive
- 14:50Speaker 2: from her lunch with Liz. She gets emotional talking about
- 14:54Speaker 2: it that you know, she's kind of figuring things out
- 14:57Speaker 2: and maybe is very fragile right now, and she is
- 15:00Speaker 2: feeling that, hey, I just turned thirty. I want maybe
- 15:04Speaker 2: a more committed relationship. Maybe there is dreams I had
- 15:08Speaker 2: and I'm seeing those kind of like come push up
- 15:11Speaker 2: against my timeline here. So it does feel very sensitive.
- 15:15Speaker 2: Throughout the whole episode. We also get to meet Joe Ellen.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Joe Ellen is also a huge character in the first episode.
- 15:21Speaker 2: She's married to Gary. They met in high school. She's
- 15:24Speaker 2: kind of scary to me, and she says that she's scary.
- 15:28Speaker 3: Yeah, so before there was ever filming of Housewives, the
- 15:32Speaker 3: one person through the grapevine that everyone warned Ashley about
- 15:35Speaker 3: was Joe Ellen. So ash was very nervous to me Joellen,
- 15:40Speaker 3: and then when it was time to meet she was like,
- 15:43Speaker 3: she's actually like kind of lovely and as you can see,
- 15:46Speaker 3: she is very nice and warm to you, but she
- 15:48Speaker 3: can flip a switch. I think she is one of
- 15:51Speaker 3: the most interesting characters. I think that Liz and Joellen
- 15:54Speaker 3: are very very interesting characters. I also think that Joellen
- 15:57Speaker 3: is also gorgeous, and I think she looks like to
- 15:59Speaker 3: pay from woman's world with very dark hair. Do you
- 16:02Speaker 3: see it?
- 16:03Speaker 2: Good poll? I do see that. Yeah, that's a good poll,
- 16:06Speaker 2: especially with her like middle school picture. They showed her high.
- 16:09Speaker 3: School per yes. And and another thing that they mentioned
- 16:12Speaker 3: was that her sister was dating Gary right and Gary, Yeah, yeah,
- 16:17Speaker 3: dating Gary in high school and then she swooped in
- 16:20Speaker 3: and took him as a freshman.
- 16:22Speaker 2: They kind of like tried to make that dramatic. Yeah,
- 16:25Speaker 2: and I'm thinking that is not a dramatic story.
- 16:29Speaker 3: I think that it probably happens a lot with sisters.
- 16:31Speaker 3: I will say that Ashley and I are esquimo sisters
- 16:33Speaker 3: in some in some areas, which doesn't make which is
- 16:36Speaker 3: kind of weird to some people, kind of not weird,
- 16:38Speaker 3: but it's like if you're in the same friend group,
- 16:40Speaker 3: it is kind of bound to happen. But yeah, they'll
- 16:43Speaker 3: probably make a juice here. If Joelle and sister comes
- 16:45Speaker 3: in and starts talking about it and she still has
- 16:46Speaker 3: weird feelings about it, that could be an interesting storyline.
- 16:49Speaker 2: After I mean, she's got to be what in her
- 16:51Speaker 2: like forties at least after.
- 16:53Speaker 3: Who knows she could have loved Gary.
- 16:56Speaker 2: H that'd be good, actually, that would really make things up.
- 16:59Speaker 2: That feels like what I'm watching. Yeah, when I'm watching
- 17:01Speaker 2: The Housewives is like waiting for those moments where all
- 17:04Speaker 2: of a sudden, like there's a twist. I'm like, goodness,
- 17:07Speaker 2: what is going on? And I have a twist? I
- 17:10Speaker 2: need to talk to you about a bit here. Alicia
- 17:12Speaker 2: and Rosie know each other. Lisha feels like a common
- 17:15Speaker 2: thread through this kind of show being friends with so
- 17:18Speaker 2: many As you mentioned, Ashley and Rosie are friends as well.
- 17:23Speaker 2: But Alicia and Rossi go on a walking date. Uh
- 17:26Speaker 2: they hang out together because they say it's just a
- 17:29Speaker 2: good time, like they have a lot of fun. They
- 17:32Speaker 2: do look like they're good friends. It's a very much
- 17:36Speaker 2: of a like Housewives date their walk What are those
- 17:39Speaker 2: things that are walking in I don't know.
- 17:40Speaker 3: I would say the McMoon boots or something. I don't
- 17:43Speaker 3: know what they are, but they's like supposed to be
- 17:44Speaker 3: good for the booty or something. Maybe I don't know,
- 17:48Speaker 3: it's I don't know, but everything has to be pink
- 17:52Speaker 3: with Rosie. That's the common thread. Everything will be pink
- 17:54Speaker 3: her her jeep is pink. Her moon boots are pink.
- 17:57Speaker 2: So she really went all out in the outfits too,
- 18:00Speaker 2: Like she really did it up.
- 18:02Speaker 3: She did. She looks great. Alicia. Yeah, Alicia and Rosie
- 18:07Speaker 3: were talking about how scared they were to see Joe
- 18:10Speaker 3: Wellen at the picnic because because Rosie brought a six
- 18:15Speaker 3: dollar bottle of wine to her party, her like hangout party.
- 18:18Speaker 3: Do you think six dollar bottle of wine is too
- 18:21Speaker 3: cheap to give someone? Yes, I know it is, Rosie.
- 18:25Speaker 3: I'll defend you to the end of time, but not
- 18:26Speaker 3: with a six dollars bottle of wine.
- 18:29Speaker 2: It's so yeah. I mean like I would drink a
- 18:32Speaker 2: six dollar bottle wine between my wife and I. Yeah,
- 18:35Speaker 2: like we would have that at our own home. That's fine.
- 18:38Speaker 2: But if you're bringing it as like a party favor
- 18:40Speaker 2: or a gift for hosting you, it's kind of like, huh, Now,
- 18:44Speaker 2: somebody did that to me, A friend of that to me.
- 18:48Speaker 2: I do think I'd like joke with him, But I
- 18:50Speaker 2: don't like this mad. Yeah, I hope, And this is
- 18:55Speaker 2: my concern. Maybe I'm just sensitive. I have never watch
- 19:00Speaker 2: the Housewives. I'm watching this season and I'm excited to
- 19:03Speaker 2: watch it because I love Ashley so much and Jared.
- 19:07Speaker 2: I got to see so much of Jared and he's
- 19:08Speaker 2: such a handsome man. But in the first episode of
- 19:12Speaker 2: the Housewives of Rhode Island, it felt like they were
- 19:13Speaker 2: trying to make drama out of very minor issues.
- 19:17Speaker 3: That's all Housewives is, oh, is it?
- 19:20Speaker 1: Like?
- 19:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm sorry to to there's it's not a lot
- 19:23Speaker 3: of drama. Maybe once they get much much bigger and
- 19:28Speaker 3: they get more famous, like the Beverly Hills Housewives, Like
- 19:32Speaker 3: there's like really big drama, like people are robbing their
- 19:34Speaker 3: homes and people are like, you know, getting huge divorces.
- 19:38Speaker 3: But now everything is very tame, so they have to
- 19:40Speaker 3: make drama out of six dollar bottles of wine, you know.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Okay, Well, I know I was expecting, like the polygamy
- 19:47Speaker 2: storyline to kind of like filter through that every couple
- 19:49Speaker 2: and I was like, whoa, I know, this is crazy.
- 19:52Speaker 2: What are they going to find out about Ashley and Jared?
- 19:54Speaker 3: I know, but after Secret Laves and Mormon Wives. I
- 19:58Speaker 3: don't know if you watch that or not, but like
- 20:00Speaker 3: the polygamy swinger thing is honestly very boring to me.
- 20:03Speaker 3: At this point, like I need something juicier than that.
- 20:06Speaker 3: That's how really going. I don't know. Polygamy to me,
- 20:13Speaker 3: and like swingers, it is like, you know, it just
- 20:16Speaker 3: sounds bad. It's like, okay, I'm both couples, like both
- 20:18Speaker 3: sides of the relationship. They're both agreeing to it. But
- 20:22Speaker 3: if someone's getting cheated on someone else by someone else,
- 20:24Speaker 3: which is coming on episode two, I find that to
- 20:27Speaker 3: be way more juicy.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Yeah, because there's like, uh, it's not consensual, like not
- 20:33Speaker 2: two sides. No, it's almost like a secret. And so
- 20:35Speaker 2: the secrets are the ones that draw in the drama.
- 20:39Speaker 2: The like, hey, we've agreed to this thing to you
- 20:42Speaker 2: was kind of boring.
- 20:44Speaker 3: Yeah, just like Joe Wellen, they said that she was
- 20:47Speaker 3: a swinger. Hey, I don't know, that's what they said.
- 20:51Speaker 3: They haven't addressed it really even if she is okay,
- 20:54Speaker 3: so to like all these consenting adults are saying, okay,
- 20:57Speaker 3: it's fine with me. I'm juicy.
- 21:00Speaker 2: It's not like a huge storyline. It is still a
- 21:03Speaker 2: little bit shocking. And are they is like Rhode Island
- 21:08Speaker 2: known for this, Like is this a very big swingers
- 21:11Speaker 2: like state. It's not a big state. Every knows each other.
- 21:14Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, this is my theory. I feel like
- 21:17Speaker 3: they always talk about how close knit Rhode Island is
- 21:20Speaker 3: and how everyone grew up with each other, and I
- 21:22Speaker 3: feel like a lot of people maybe met their spouse
- 21:24Speaker 3: in high school, kind of like Joe Ellen, and then
- 21:26Speaker 3: they get a little bored, they get a little rusty,
- 21:28Speaker 3: and then they start swinging. Maybe. So that's kind of
- 21:31Speaker 3: my theory. But yeah, I mean, I guess it could
- 21:36Speaker 3: still be interesting. It'd be interesting if they start swinging
- 21:40Speaker 3: with someone else in the cast.
- 21:42Speaker 2: Yeah, make that happen. Is that a Housewives type of thing?
- 21:45Speaker 3: We can make it, I'd say, I like, say we
- 21:47Speaker 3: could make it asn't. We're on it.
- 21:50Speaker 2: We're not far We're not far away. So the big
- 22:05Speaker 2: first meetup of this season happens at Rosie's picnic. Joellen
- 22:10Speaker 2: is there, Alicia's there, Ashley is there, and obviously Rosie
- 22:13Speaker 2: is there. This is where we're introduced to your lovely
- 22:15Speaker 2: sister Ashley. They talk about her being married to the
- 22:19Speaker 2: wonderful Jared, who is a Rhode Island native, and I'll
- 22:23Speaker 2: be honest, he is nothing like anybody else we've met
- 22:26Speaker 2: on this show yet. He is very much a down
- 22:28Speaker 2: the earth guy who works his butt off. We know
- 22:32Speaker 2: so much about Ashley and Jared at this point because well,
- 22:34Speaker 2: this is her show. The wild part to me and
- 22:40Speaker 2: this is the picnic is fine. There's like some contentiousness
- 22:45Speaker 2: and like people are arguing back and forth about some
- 22:47Speaker 2: of the things we talked about, especially Joellen and Rosie.
- 22:49Speaker 2: And Joellen one thing I respect about her, no matter
- 22:52Speaker 2: if she's scary or not, She's gonna tell you what
- 22:55Speaker 2: she said and where she stands. I have yet, and
- 22:58Speaker 2: I appreciate that about somebody. Maybe I don't like that behavior.
- 23:01Speaker 2: It feels a little bit bullyish, but at least if
- 23:03Speaker 2: you're like, hey, Joellen, were you talking about me to Rosie,
- 23:06Speaker 2: she says, yes, I was.
- 23:07Speaker 3: M hmm.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Here's the wildest part. I've already texted Ashley about this
- 23:11Speaker 2: and I don't what. I didn't get the response I
- 23:13Speaker 2: needed out of her. They play Never Have I Ever?
- 23:16Speaker 2: And Ashley gets to start the game and she goes hard,
- 23:18Speaker 2: really hard, like right away, like, yes, why was that
- 23:23Speaker 2: her first question? And why was that on her mind?
- 23:26Speaker 3: Ashley is never like, never have I Ever? Okay, we
- 23:29Speaker 3: would be at parties growing up and everything and never
- 23:33Speaker 3: have I ever she was She would always bow out
- 23:35Speaker 3: of she's I'm not doing it because she hasn't done anything, okay,
- 23:38Speaker 3: and it's embarrassing, and she was embarrassed by it. So
- 23:40Speaker 3: she's never played this before. And I guess she was thinking,
- 23:43Speaker 3: like literally, like she could have said, I've never done
- 23:45Speaker 3: a drug in my entire life.
- 23:47Speaker 2: She could have said, has a lot of things she's
- 23:49Speaker 2: never done.
- 23:49Speaker 3: I don't know why it went there, but she called
- 23:52Speaker 3: me the second she saw this episode. She goes, the
- 23:54Speaker 3: only thing I'm really worried about is why the hell
- 23:56Speaker 3: did I say I've never done butt stuff. It's like, well, Elise,
- 24:01Speaker 3: if our parents are watching, they're really proud of you
- 24:03Speaker 3: for onto a bot stoe. Okay, I don't know, but
- 24:05Speaker 3: I don't know why she said that. What did she
- 24:07Speaker 3: say to you when you asked her.
- 24:09Speaker 2: I think she is I could I could read. I mean,
- 24:11Speaker 2: it's not like.
- 24:13Speaker 3: She just like, I don't know, I'm an idiot.
- 24:15Speaker 2: I think she said she wanted to win the game,
- 24:19Speaker 2: and so she she she thought that would she thought
- 24:23Speaker 2: that would be her differentiator, but other ones.
- 24:26Speaker 3: I guess that makes sense. Yeah, I mean, she could
- 24:28Speaker 3: have done a lot of things, but obviously based some
- 24:30Speaker 3: Rosie's response saying that she will do it with skinny Wieners,
- 24:35Speaker 3: which is a repulsive she got her out.
- 24:39Speaker 2: So it did feel like Ashley hit like a she
- 24:45Speaker 2: did hit a home run with that question. Yeah, but
- 24:48Speaker 2: knowing Ashley, I was just like, whoa, like you started,
- 24:52Speaker 2: you want one hundred miles an hour right away?
- 24:54Speaker 3: Yeah, Usually when she's on any kind of show or
- 24:56Speaker 3: any honestly this podcast, like if I have like la
- 25:00Speaker 3: la la, I close my ears, my eyes, I'm like,
- 25:02Speaker 3: I'm so ready to cringe out listening to her and
- 25:05Speaker 3: watching her on shows and stuff. I didn't cringe that
- 25:08Speaker 3: hard watching Housewives, and I am so happy about that.
- 25:11Speaker 3: The only it was only slightly cringing when she said
- 25:14Speaker 3: the butt stuff.
- 25:14Speaker 2: So yeah, I mean I always asked for respect, Like, yeah,
- 25:19Speaker 2: good for Ashley, she's trying to win a game.
- 25:21Speaker 3: Yeah. She takes everything so literally.
- 25:24Speaker 2: I mean, it's unreal. It's so good. Her facial expressions
- 25:28Speaker 2: during this picnic are fantastic. It says it all I
- 25:32Speaker 2: think you would know. But I mean, I'm assuming this
- 25:36Speaker 2: is one of the first times she's met all these
- 25:38Speaker 2: other women and all like right away they start kind
- 25:41Speaker 2: of bickering back and forth and saying things to each other.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Is ashlely like comfortable in those moments. Does that make
- 25:48Speaker 2: her uncomfortable?
- 25:50Speaker 3: I mean, it definitely makes her uncomfortable. She never gets
- 25:53Speaker 3: in fire like we were really like sweep everything under
- 25:55Speaker 3: the rug sort of situation, like we never confront anyone
- 25:57Speaker 3: for feeling a certain type of way, which is very
- 25:59Speaker 3: Milni all of us, we're like, no worries, It's fine.
- 26:04Speaker 3: But it's she has to get into the into the
- 26:08Speaker 3: mix when it comes to the housewives, you know. So
- 26:10Speaker 3: I do know that she does eventually like stick up
- 26:13Speaker 3: for herself and you know, yells at a couple of
- 26:17Speaker 3: the other ladies eventually down the line. But this was
- 26:19Speaker 3: her first meeting, so she was kind of just like
- 26:22Speaker 3: watching the back and forth. I'm sure it was uncomfortable,
- 26:25Speaker 3: but I'm sure she also is happy that it wasn't
- 26:27Speaker 3: directed towards her. And I do remember watching her after
- 26:31Speaker 3: the film that scene she was like, it was so
- 26:33Speaker 3: sunny and I wanted to put my sunglasses on so bad.
- 26:35Speaker 3: If you could see her squinting, But all she had
- 26:37Speaker 3: in that moment was her facial expressions because she wasn't
- 26:40Speaker 3: involved in the conversation at all. She's like, I had
- 26:42Speaker 3: to keep my sunglasses off so I could at least offer.
- 26:45Speaker 2: That she's smart. Uh. She also comes from the world
- 26:49Speaker 2: to the Bachelor, We're never allowed.
- 26:51Speaker 3: Never allowed glasses.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Yeah, so I'm sure she had that in mind at
- 26:56Speaker 2: the time too. She finally does switch to the sunglasses
- 26:59Speaker 2: just for her because I was starting to feel her
- 27:01Speaker 2: pain when it came to the squinting.
- 27:05Speaker 3: Yes.
- 27:06Speaker 2: We then get a good taste of Ashley and Jared
- 27:09Speaker 2: at Audrey's kind of following this up, and at this
- 27:15Speaker 2: point we see Ashley and Jared kind conversing about life.
- 27:19Speaker 2: I do know Jared works really hard and Audrey's is
- 27:23Speaker 2: something that he's very proud of, and he should be.
- 27:25Speaker 2: It's a wonderful space, and if you're ever coming through
- 27:28Speaker 2: that area of the country, make sure you stop at
- 27:31Speaker 2: Audrey's because they do a great job and the hospitality
- 27:34Speaker 2: is fantastic.
- 27:35Speaker 3: It's delicious too.
- 27:37Speaker 2: This is where we see Ashley cry for the first time,
- 27:39Speaker 2: though it.
- 27:41Speaker 3: Only took to twenty seconds maybe, but I understand. I
- 27:45Speaker 3: understand why she was crying.
- 27:47Speaker 2: I mean, I haven't seen Ashley cry in a long time.
- 27:49Speaker 2: It used to be very common obviously, Yeah, cries and
- 27:53Speaker 2: you know, gets emotional, and it's really been we've paused that,
- 27:59Speaker 2: you know, in our life here on the Almost Namous podcast.
- 28:02Speaker 3: Yeah, did she use to cry on this podcast?
- 28:05Speaker 2: Oh yeah, some great footage. Oh yeah, right, yeah, all
- 28:10Speaker 2: the time.
- 28:12Speaker 3: She was pre Jared probably.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Yeah. Do you feel like she's less emotional at this point?
- 28:18Speaker 3: Oh yeah, definitely. She doesn't cry a lot at all anymore. Yeah,
- 28:24Speaker 3: That's why I was like kind of shocked to see
- 28:26Speaker 3: the episode of when she like cried. I was like, whoh,
- 28:28Speaker 3: I haven't seen that in a long time. Sometimes when
- 28:30Speaker 3: she's super frustrated, yes, but it's not like out of sadness,
- 28:34Speaker 3: it's just like frustration.
- 28:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it used to be out of like
- 28:38Speaker 2: kind of everything, right, It was kind of her shtick,
- 28:42Speaker 2: not that it was like fake. Ever, it's very much
- 28:44Speaker 2: a thing. But I do feel like since Jared and
- 28:47Speaker 2: since the boys, that element of her life it doesn't
- 28:51Speaker 2: exist as much. And so I wonder what it is
- 28:54Speaker 2: because we see it, and we see it in a
- 28:58Speaker 2: few like lead ups in the pre you Yeah, what
- 29:01Speaker 2: is it about the cameras that bring out the tears?
- 29:03Speaker 3: It is so true. It is the cameras, I guess
- 29:06Speaker 3: I think emotions are heightened. She it's definitely crying out
- 29:11Speaker 3: of frustration a lot, like maybe she just can't articulate
- 29:14Speaker 3: the way she's feeling, and so the it just comes
- 29:16Speaker 3: out as tears. And especially with a group of women
- 29:18Speaker 3: like this, trying to get a word in is tough
- 29:22Speaker 3: and obviously, like filming is exhausting, Like they're really long days,
- 29:27Speaker 3: so like you're you're tired, you're overly emotional, and then
- 29:30Speaker 3: you just you just cry. It's a perfect recipe for crying.
- 29:35Speaker 3: So I'm assuming. I'm assuming it's her not being able
- 29:41Speaker 3: to express the way she's feeling. That's always how it's been,
- 29:44Speaker 3: you know, immediate tears. And that's why Jared's like, why
- 29:47Speaker 3: can't you talk about crying. It's like I just can't
- 29:49Speaker 3: get the words out of my mouth and if I could,
- 29:52Speaker 3: then I wouldn't cry. But this is how it comes out.
- 29:54Speaker 3: And I think a lot of people can relate to that.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Do you cry a lot? No?
- 29:58Speaker 3: I don't.
- 29:59Speaker 2: You're like hearted, No, I don't know.
- 30:01Speaker 3: It just doesn't come to my eyeballs, Like it just
- 30:04Speaker 3: doesn't the water doesn't come out. I cry a lot,
- 30:08Speaker 3: like the like the two weeks after giving birth. Yeah,
- 30:12Speaker 3: and then I just I dried up, can't do it anymore.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Yeah again, it's uh. I cannot say enough how just
- 30:20Speaker 2: like proud I am of Ashley. She is herself in
- 30:25Speaker 2: the best and biggest of ways. She's such an asset
- 30:28Speaker 2: to this show. I'm so glad she said yes to it,
- 30:31Speaker 2: because having Ashley on our screens is a gift. And
- 30:36Speaker 2: she looks so pretty during this episode, like just looks
- 30:41Speaker 2: beautiful and that's never like a question. I guess that's
- 30:45Speaker 2: not like a shock, but it's just a note for
- 30:47Speaker 2: everybody as they watch it. I think they're gonna be
- 30:49Speaker 2: like goodness, Like Ashley looks beautiful.
- 30:52Speaker 3: She is actually like peaking and continuing to peak, like
- 30:55Speaker 3: any woman who's scared of their like thirties, late thirties,
- 31:00Speaker 3: Like she literally is more beautiful every single day and
- 31:02Speaker 3: like her body is slamming. She's got two kids. She
- 31:04Speaker 3: looks so good. So proud of her. And also if
- 31:07Speaker 3: in the show she I want to say how Ashley
- 31:10Speaker 3: she is. She brought munchkins from Duncan Donuts to a party,
- 31:14Speaker 3: to a Housewives party, like so adorable. No, one would
- 31:18Speaker 3: ever do that because you would bring, you know, a
- 31:20Speaker 3: nice bottle champagne or something, which, like everyone loves munchkins.
- 31:24Speaker 3: So I'm like, that's Ashley. I love it.
- 31:25Speaker 2: Speaking of food and gifts, the final scene of the
- 31:29Speaker 2: first episode happens at Joellen's Fourth of July party. She
- 31:34Speaker 2: rents a house for this party, and it's a big
- 31:38Speaker 2: deal in the July. In July fourth in Rhode Island
- 31:41Speaker 2: is a big deal. I think it's a big deal
- 31:42Speaker 2: throughout the country. Honestly, Yeah, it's a big deal in Indiana.
- 31:46Speaker 2: It's a big deal in Colorado. I mean it's a
- 31:49Speaker 2: it's a national holiday. We celebrate this. But she rented
- 31:54Speaker 2: a house for this big party and all the girls
- 31:56Speaker 2: are invited. Rosie says, Hey, I feel most comfortab driving
- 32:00Speaker 2: with Ashley and Jared to this party because I'm a
- 32:04Speaker 2: little nervous about stepping into another environment where i might
- 32:08Speaker 2: get ripped on again. Lauren, you don't have to give
- 32:22Speaker 2: us to behind the scenes, but let me just give
- 32:23Speaker 2: you your opinion. I think what is intriguing to me
- 32:26Speaker 2: is most of these people, if not all, are in relationships.
- 32:29Speaker 2: I know, if my wife was walking into a scenario
- 32:33Speaker 2: where she felt like she was going to get ripped apart.
- 32:37Speaker 2: I would be very much on edge and very much
- 32:39Speaker 2: in protective mode. How during Housewives do you navigate these
- 32:45Speaker 2: elements with a partner?
- 32:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I feel like you have to kind of take
- 32:49Speaker 3: a step back as a partner because, like you do, know,
- 32:52Speaker 3: your wife signed up to be ridiculed and being fight
- 32:55Speaker 3: with and being in a fight with women. But I
- 32:56Speaker 3: also think you're a much better man than other men.
- 32:59Speaker 3: I think that like, oh that girl drama, go have
- 33:01Speaker 3: your girl, your girlfights and your cat caddy. Really stuff,
- 33:04Speaker 3: I really think so.
- 33:06Speaker 2: I think Jared would be very uncomfortable and very protective.
- 33:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm trying to imagine if someone's yelling at Ashley,
- 33:14Speaker 3: would Jared come over and be like, what's going on?
- 33:18Speaker 3: Ladies sort of situation?
- 33:20Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 33:20Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that Jared also was a very good
- 33:23Speaker 3: man too. It's tough, but also having a girlfriend, like
- 33:26Speaker 3: walking in with Ashley to that party is kind of
- 33:29Speaker 3: like more comforting almost than having your husband there. I
- 33:32Speaker 3: don't know, it feels kind of like the women coming together.
- 33:35Speaker 3: I would feel really comfortable with my best friend there
- 33:38Speaker 3: and knowing that she can like kind of kind of
- 33:41Speaker 3: just like I can lean on her and then she
- 33:43Speaker 3: can almost clap back at the woman who's yelling at
- 33:45Speaker 3: me too, because I don't know if a man honestly
- 33:47Speaker 3: could so, I understand coming together at the parties, like
- 33:52Speaker 3: the couples going together to the party.
- 33:55Speaker 2: Do you think it's a surprise to Rosie Rosie that
- 34:00Speaker 2: she is kind of the center of confrontation right now?
- 34:02Speaker 3: I think so. I don't think she's that like polarizing.
- 34:06Speaker 3: I don't think she's asking any crazy questions.
- 34:10Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 34:10Speaker 3: Maybe there's other things behind the scenes that I don't
- 34:12Speaker 3: know about. But if it's just because she asked about
- 34:16Speaker 3: Kelsey's relationship, this doesn't warrant the kind of like ridicule
- 34:20Speaker 3: she's getting. No, I don't know. I don't jealousy, who knows,
- 34:26Speaker 3: although everyone is stunning, I don't know what to.
- 34:27Speaker 2: Be jealous about. You know, lizten Dolores show up together.
- 34:30Speaker 2: Dolores is from The New Jersey Housewives. Also, she has
- 34:35Speaker 2: a podcast on our network as well with Will's Adams
- 34:39Speaker 2: breaking down the Traders. Dolorus is fantastic and a big character,
- 34:42Speaker 2: and I know that people love her. Lizen Dolores do
- 34:46Speaker 2: look very similar and the reason they do is not
- 34:48Speaker 2: only because maybe they kind of always look similar, but
- 34:50Speaker 2: they also have the same surgeon.
- 34:52Speaker 3: And I love that they admit that. Okay, because how
- 34:55Speaker 3: are these not twins? I mean, they definitely have similar
- 34:59Speaker 3: vibes to yeah, but I love that they admitted to it.
- 35:02Speaker 3: And what I've noticed a lot about this season is
- 35:04Speaker 3: like everyone's admitting they have botox, they have fella, they're
- 35:08Speaker 3: on weight loss drugs, you know, so all the things
- 35:12Speaker 3: and it's not a secret anymore. And that is amazing.
- 35:16Speaker 2: It's it's amazing because it opens up a level of
- 35:19Speaker 2: vulnerability instead of us asking the questions and assuming we're like,
- 35:23Speaker 2: all right, you know, you've told us another thing we
- 35:26Speaker 2: find out during this picnic. This was like kind of
- 35:30Speaker 2: shocking to me. Kelsey says she's known Joellen since back
- 35:33Speaker 2: when Joellen worked at a tanning salon. At that time,
- 35:38Speaker 2: Kelsey shares that Joellen hooked up with the owner and
- 35:40Speaker 2: his wife, and Joeln's the freaky one in the group,
- 35:43Speaker 2: which again goes back to Ashley winning the game of
- 35:47Speaker 2: never Have I Ever? There was a thousand options she
- 35:49Speaker 2: could have chosen, but she went hard in the paint
- 35:52Speaker 2: right at the beginning, and she was gonna win every
- 35:54Speaker 2: game of never have I ever with this group of
- 35:56Speaker 2: what ladies for all time? I guess in this part
- 36:00Speaker 2: of this episode, I'm a little bit confused at what
- 36:03Speaker 2: we're trying to accomplish. Like, are these ladies at this
- 36:05Speaker 2: point just like nervous and getting everything out there on
- 36:09Speaker 2: the table to create storylines?
- 36:12Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 36:13Speaker 2: Or are these going to be underlying themes throughout the
- 36:16Speaker 2: rest of this season? You know, the Housewise franchise. How
- 36:19Speaker 2: does this work?
- 36:20Speaker 3: Yeah? I think they all want to appear to be
- 36:23Speaker 3: the most interesting, and so they're going to say like
- 36:25Speaker 3: all the crazy shit they've ever done, aka swinging butt stuff,
- 36:29Speaker 3: all the stuff, and then I think it will come
- 36:32Speaker 3: back around. I mean, I don't know for sure, but
- 36:34Speaker 3: the fact that they keep alluding to Joellen being so freaky,
- 36:38Speaker 3: there's gonna be something, So I'm excited to see what
- 36:41Speaker 3: it is. But Joellen is definitely going to be doing.
- 36:44Speaker 2: Something, So that's Yeah, that's like foreshadowing for the rest
- 36:47Speaker 2: of the season. That's what this episode is. It's setting
- 36:50Speaker 2: it up for a story to continue.
- 36:53Speaker 3: On, because why would we need to know that she
- 36:55Speaker 3: hooked up with an owner of a Tanning Salon back
- 36:57Speaker 3: in the day, right.
- 36:58Speaker 2: That was my question. Okay, and his wife.
- 37:01Speaker 3: Yes, and his wife yeah, yeah, Well there you go.
- 37:05Speaker 2: Rosie and Ashley arrive at the party. At this point
- 37:08Speaker 2: in the midst of this, we're getting some drama happening
- 37:11Speaker 2: where Joellen is telling Kelsey that Rosie was making comments
- 37:14Speaker 2: about her relationship at the picnic. Kelsey is again upset
- 37:18Speaker 2: about comments being made about her relationship. From my standpoint,
- 37:23Speaker 2: her relationship is polarizing. It is. I am curious about it.
- 37:28Speaker 2: You have to know if you're going to sign up
- 37:29Speaker 2: for a show that one of the most interesting parts
- 37:33Speaker 2: of your life when it comes to being in relationship
- 37:36Speaker 2: with somebody who's not around all the time and everybody
- 37:39Speaker 2: knows he's not around all the time, is gonna get
- 37:41Speaker 2: brought up. But it's a very sensitive subject to Kelsey.
- 37:44Speaker 3: It really is like, you can't be surprised when you
- 37:47Speaker 3: show up to a Fourth of July party and the
- 37:49Speaker 3: man who you are with, in whose house you are
- 37:51Speaker 3: living in, doesn't come with you. They're gonna say where's
- 37:55Speaker 3: what's his name? You know, for every single holiday. And
- 37:58Speaker 3: she's been dealing with this for ten years, so she
- 38:00Speaker 3: can't have been cry. She can't cry every time someone
- 38:03Speaker 3: asked her about that. That's why I'm just like, how
- 38:06Speaker 3: is this dramatic to say? How is your partner? You know?
- 38:10Speaker 2: Yeah? I do forget though, who did bring it up?
- 38:14Speaker 2: I mean I don't remember it being oh, who brought
- 38:18Speaker 2: it up?
- 38:19Speaker 3: So I think Joellen was like, oh, I was just
- 38:22Speaker 3: with Kelsey and.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Then she's struggling. I think she did say that, like she's, oh,
- 38:26Speaker 2: you know, she's not doing great because of her relationship.
- 38:29Speaker 3: Yes, so Joeanne did she brought it up? She and
- 38:32Speaker 3: if she really didn't want to talk about it or
- 38:34Speaker 3: didn't think that Kelsey wanted it brought up, she could
- 38:36Speaker 3: have just been like, she's good. No, we're on in
- 38:39Speaker 3: Real Housewives. You're gonna say she's not doing well, and
- 38:42Speaker 3: then Rose's gonna say why, or the whole table's gonna
- 38:45Speaker 3: say why isn't she doing well? Why would you not
- 38:47Speaker 3: ask that question? So and then so on and so forth.
- 38:51Speaker 2: If you and I were sitting around hanging out talking
- 38:54Speaker 2: and I was like, how's Ashley doing, You're like, oh,
- 38:56Speaker 2: you know, she's not doing great because of her relationship,
- 39:00Speaker 2: And I just sat there and quiet and stared at you. Yeah,
- 39:03Speaker 2: that'd be very weird. My immediate a question would be,
- 39:06Speaker 2: what do you mean by that?
- 39:07Speaker 3: Yeah, like, exactly.
- 39:09Speaker 2: Tell me a little bit more if you're willing and able.
- 39:11Speaker 2: And so it's obviously hinting at bringing up a story
- 39:16Speaker 2: that you want people to ask questions about, or that
- 39:18Speaker 2: you're opening up the door for people to ask questions about.
- 39:21Speaker 2: But I do think it's a weird decision to go
- 39:23Speaker 2: right up to Kelsey and say, hey, Rosie was asking
- 39:27Speaker 2: these things and saying these things about your relationship at
- 39:31Speaker 2: the picnic. Yeah, to kind of start the fire burning,
- 39:35Speaker 2: even though you're the one that has the gasoline.
- 39:38Speaker 3: Yeah, so true, so true. That's why I hope people
- 39:42Speaker 3: like stick around and keep watching, because like it isn't
- 39:45Speaker 3: that much drama, but the person creating the drama is
- 39:48Speaker 3: like kind of Joellen. If that's why I'm like, I
- 39:52Speaker 3: hope that people can see past like kind of like
- 39:54Speaker 3: the curated drama and just wait for like the real drama,
- 39:58Speaker 3: because you know, Joellen was just trying to stir it
- 39:59Speaker 3: up just to start up for the show kind of,
- 40:02Speaker 3: but the real dramas get to come.
- 40:03Speaker 2: Oh, the real drama. This is the first episode of
- 40:07Speaker 2: Real Housewives of Rhode Island, Lauren, You're gonna be around
- 40:10Speaker 2: with us for the entirety of this season and maybe
- 40:14Speaker 2: seasons to come. Yeah, which is very exciting and very
- 40:17Speaker 2: fun for me. Yes, we do see a preview for
- 40:20Speaker 2: the rest of the season. The woman go on a
- 40:22Speaker 2: road trip, Ashley says, does a little cheers and says
- 40:26Speaker 2: sorry or cheers to not being sorry and moving on. Yes,
- 40:32Speaker 2: there's a massk garade party and it looks like they
- 40:33Speaker 2: stuck Ashley in like a full blown mask.
- 40:36Speaker 3: Yes, she was so pissed that day because she was like,
- 40:39Speaker 3: my makeup has never looked better and they put me
- 40:41Speaker 3: in a full blown mask, like why They're also like
- 40:44Speaker 3: taking away her superpower, which is her reaction to things.
- 40:48Speaker 3: So I don't know how that day went, but that
- 40:50Speaker 3: sucks for her.
- 40:53Speaker 2: We do get to meet Rula at some point throughout
- 40:56Speaker 2: this season, and Ashley and Jared are a big focus
- 41:02Speaker 2: of the preview, mostly talking about like their life and
- 41:06Speaker 2: the Audrey's is not making a lot of money. Just
- 41:08Speaker 2: hold your horses, Ashley and Jared. You just went on
- 41:12Speaker 2: Real Housewives and brought it to a whole new demo.
- 41:15Speaker 3: I know Audrey's will be hiring shortly.
- 41:18Speaker 2: I was gonna say they're gonna be doing fine. And Ashley.
- 41:22Speaker 2: We do see Ashley crying on a boat, which is perfect.
- 41:27Speaker 3: I love that part.
- 41:30Speaker 2: Is it Ashley that tells her tells somebody I forget
- 41:33Speaker 2: They're sitting there and she says, the girl's like, I'm
- 41:36Speaker 2: crying and my makeup looks so good today, and Ashley
- 41:39Speaker 2: is always the day your makeup looks the best.
- 41:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:43Speaker 2: I love it.
- 41:44Speaker 3: I love them together.
- 41:46Speaker 2: What a sweet comment by Ashulely. Just the best. Lauren.
- 41:51Speaker 2: I know you know a lot about the season ahead,
- 41:54Speaker 2: but if we can close up with your general thoughts
- 41:58Speaker 2: on the first episode ode and like if you're honestly
- 42:03Speaker 2: excited for the rest of the season.
- 42:05Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's so funny because like, why do you want, like,
- 42:10Speaker 3: if you're already stressed out and you want to wind
- 42:12Speaker 3: down at the end of the night, why are you
- 42:13Speaker 3: watching women yell at each other? But I was fully enthralled,
- 42:18Speaker 3: and it wasn't just because she's my sister. For this,
- 42:20Speaker 3: for this episode and then the episodes to come, I'm
- 42:25Speaker 3: just actually, I think it could be one of the
- 42:27Speaker 3: best housewives. And I really hope that I know everyone's
- 42:30Speaker 3: so mad because Miami's canceled and everyone loves Real house
- 42:33Speaker 3: Sides of Miami, but this is taking its place, and
- 42:36Speaker 3: I think it's gonna really hold up to Miami. So
- 42:41Speaker 3: stick around. I think it's amazing, and it's really I
- 42:45Speaker 3: know everyone's saying that everyone looks alike and you can't
- 42:47Speaker 3: tell them apart, but you will get them down with
- 42:49Speaker 3: the first episode, I promise.
- 42:52Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I think if I can do it, anybody
- 42:56Speaker 2: else can do it if I come forward too. Yeah,
- 42:59Speaker 2: we're fine. Yes, Now, Lauren, well do a thing here.
- 43:02Speaker 2: I'm Almost Famous podcast. I know you're an avid listener
- 43:05Speaker 2: to our other show and so you know exactly what
- 43:08Speaker 2: to do. But we will be here for the rest
- 43:10Speaker 2: of the season of The Real Housewives of Rhode Island
- 43:13Speaker 2: starring the one and only Ashley Ikenetti. And Ashley cannot
- 43:18Speaker 2: be joining us obviously for obvious reasons during the breakdown
- 43:21Speaker 2: of each episode, but we do have the next best
- 43:24Speaker 2: thing in her sister Lauren, giving us all the scoop,
- 43:27Speaker 2: all the details, all the opinions, and everything that we
- 43:31Speaker 2: need out of an Ikenetti being on the Almost Famous Podcast.
- 43:34Speaker 2: But until next time, I've been Ben.
- 43:37Speaker 3: And I've been Lauren. Is that correct?
- 43:40Speaker 2: You did so good?
- 43:41Speaker 3: Okay good.
- 43:43Speaker 1: Follow the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcasts on iHeartRadio,
