- 1:25Speaker 1: your new albums. It's officially out, man, your major label debut. Yeah.
- 1:30Speaker 1: How's it feel, man? It feels I don't know, kind
- 1:35Speaker 1: of feels the same. Like, I mean, I've just been
- 1:37Speaker 1: working on for so long, so it just it just
- 1:40Speaker 1: feels good to be out. I've been working on the
- 1:42Speaker 1: music for so long, and I'm just what feels the
- 1:46Speaker 1: most different is that people just finally have it, and
- 1:50Speaker 1: your fans have been waiting for this for a while
- 1:51Speaker 1: so long. Yeah, and like it just feels I'm just
- 1:56Speaker 1: happy to have it and breaking it down and listening
- 1:58Speaker 1: to it, and most I'm excited. You said on the
- 2:02Speaker 1: album that you signed the deal when you lost your ambition. Yeah. Yeah,
- 2:08Speaker 1: it wasn't like I signed the deal when I lost
- 2:09Speaker 1: my ambition, But when you signed the deal, maybe you
- 2:12Speaker 1: were in a tough place as far as when I
- 2:13Speaker 1: signed the deal was in a great I was in
- 2:15Speaker 1: a great place like when I when I made the
- 2:17Speaker 1: decision I was going to sign. But no, where that
- 2:21Speaker 1: line came from was just what was happening in my life.
- 2:23Speaker 1: And basically you got to like listen to the the
- 2:26Speaker 1: album as a whole to like understand it. But it
- 2:28Speaker 1: wasn't It was had nothing to do with my career.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Like the last two years have just been like crazy
- 2:34Speaker 1: for me, Like I've grown up a lot, A lot
- 2:37Speaker 1: has happened, you know, like the beginning, a lot of
- 2:41Speaker 1: people know me from shit I did as like a teenager,
- 2:43Speaker 1: so this like like turning twenty and like the last
- 2:47Speaker 1: two years, for real, I've just been like crazy, So
- 2:50Speaker 1: you're not even twenty one yet. No, I'm twenty three now,
- 2:53Speaker 1: wait what the fuck I'm like, So what that line
- 2:59Speaker 1: is about is just like I was really for real
- 3:01Speaker 1: just like dealing with the catalysts of it was like
- 3:05Speaker 1: my first breakup that ever like been through, and that
- 3:09Speaker 1: just like it showed me a lot by myself because
- 3:12Speaker 1: it was like the first time like I just I
- 3:14Speaker 1: don't know, I was like really by myself and I
- 3:17Speaker 1: learned a lot by myself and it just it just
- 3:21Speaker 1: woke up all these parts of me that I haven't
- 3:23Speaker 1: seen since I was like real young. So at that time,
- 3:26Speaker 1: like it was just weird how so many things were
- 3:29Speaker 1: happening at the same time. It was like this my
- 3:32Speaker 1: first relationship ended. I got a crib, I got a whip,
- 3:36Speaker 1: I got the deal, but I had no one to
- 3:38Speaker 1: like really share, man, So it was like a lot
- 3:41Speaker 1: of and then shit gone with my mom and then
- 3:44Speaker 1: my sister, and it was like I kept getting tested
- 3:47Speaker 1: and then I just I just really like it was
- 3:51Speaker 1: a journey, bro, But it turned out amazing, because like
- 3:54Speaker 1: I just feel like I feel like I'm not living
- 3:57Speaker 1: through my career really anymore. Because when I was younger,
- 4:01Speaker 1: you know, a lot of people know me. When I
- 4:02Speaker 1: was like a teenager, I'm like, You're trying to fit
- 4:04Speaker 1: in every cipher, going crazy rapid round, improve myself. Like
- 4:09Speaker 1: I'm just trying to make it. I forget what tour
- 4:11Speaker 1: I what to What tour were you on early on
- 4:14Speaker 1: Option I saw, Yeah, yeah, yeah, I was on just
- 4:16Speaker 1: like just trying to prove myself, just trying to make it.
- 4:21Speaker 1: And it was honest at the time, but like now
- 4:26Speaker 1: it's just not about It's just not about like proving anymore,
- 4:29Speaker 1: Like I don't really feel like I have anything to prove,
- 4:31Speaker 1: and whether people like know it or not, I'm not
- 4:34Speaker 1: here because of how I can spit like people might
- 4:40Speaker 1: not know that, but I'm here because of like the
- 4:42Speaker 1: way I write in my perspective and the life I've lived.
- 4:46Speaker 1: And now it's just feels like everything at this point
- 4:49Speaker 1: is like synchronizing, like I really feel I really feel
- 4:53Speaker 1: me again, Like I don't feel like I'm living through
- 4:55Speaker 1: my career. My last project. I know I'm written, but bro,
- 5:00Speaker 1: last project you know is I feel this way because
- 5:06Speaker 1: of my career. This girl looks at me because of
- 5:08Speaker 1: my career. It's literally called between somewhere. It's like I'm
- 5:11Speaker 1: between fame and a normal person. It's like, I'm all
- 5:14Speaker 1: this is because of my career, and then with this one,
- 5:18Speaker 1: it's just like, Bro, I feel this way because I'm me,
- 5:21Speaker 1: this people, this person looks at me because I'm me,
- 5:24Speaker 1: Like I really feel mean now I forget what the
- 5:27Speaker 1: fuck you even not what you just said. We know
- 5:30Speaker 1: a lot of people who were probably fans of who
- 5:33Speaker 1: could rap really really good, but don't have any real fans,
- 5:37Speaker 1: Like they're like they don't they can't tour, they can't
- 5:39Speaker 1: sell much, but they could rap really good. So when
- 5:42Speaker 1: you said like I'm not here because I could rap,
- 5:45Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, you obviously you're very talented, right, but
- 5:48Speaker 1: you're obviously people relate to your story, people connect with
- 5:51Speaker 1: you as a human being more than anything, which is
- 5:54Speaker 1: why you actually are at this point. Because if you
- 5:57Speaker 1: if you didn't have a fan base, if you know,
- 5:59Speaker 1: you know what I mean, probably what are you gonna
- 6:01Speaker 1: you probably wrap it and doing a day job working
- 6:04Speaker 1: at a call center. I'm just I'm just lucky to
- 6:06Speaker 1: have the fans that I do for real, like the
- 6:09Speaker 1: you know that just love me for me and you
- 6:11Speaker 1: know I've gone like viral with just the rapping ship.
- 6:14Speaker 1: But the reason I can sell as many tickets I can,
- 6:17Speaker 1: and the reason like I just have this base is
- 6:20Speaker 1: is because I think it's it's I'm gonna need to
- 6:26Speaker 1: be like forty to like really wrap my head around
- 6:28Speaker 1: like my life and everything that's going on. But but
- 6:31Speaker 1: I think it's just because I'm just like I'm just
- 6:34Speaker 1: trying to tell the truth, and especially with this new album,
- 6:36Speaker 1: like there's a lot of truth telling on the album. Man,
- 6:39Speaker 1: that was that was the only problem An adulterated just
- 6:42Speaker 1: I was like, shit, he's letting them, He's letting some
- 6:45Speaker 1: ship fly. I'm just at the I'm just at the
- 6:47Speaker 1: point now where if it's just not the truth, it's
- 6:49Speaker 1: just not fire to me. Like there's a lot of
- 6:51Speaker 1: things I'm trying to accomplish, like of course I want
- 6:53Speaker 1: to make the best records, like be a bigger artist,
- 6:57Speaker 1: Like of course I'm trying to do that as well.
- 6:59Speaker 1: But shit, I could just, for real, when I was younger,
- 7:03Speaker 1: I could just like not tell the truth easier, like
- 7:07Speaker 1: when you're young, like you lie, Like I wasn't that
- 7:09Speaker 1: far from like lying to my mom about like what
- 7:11Speaker 1: I'm doing, And shit, I was just used to more.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Not that I was lying, but you know, I used
- 7:16Speaker 1: to rap like I want to rip, I want to
- 7:20Speaker 1: beat these rappers and competition, like but for real, in reality,
- 7:24Speaker 1: I never looked at this shit like competition. I don't
- 7:25Speaker 1: give a fuck what anybody else is doing. I just
- 7:28Speaker 1: knew people were like into that shit. Now it's like
- 7:31Speaker 1: every time, if like I think of a line and
- 7:33Speaker 1: it's not true, I can't say it. It's like it's
- 7:36Speaker 1: not fire to me unless it's just like the truth, yo,
- 7:42Speaker 1: the It feels like the breakup you went through motivated
- 7:47Speaker 1: a lot of this music. And I always say, through
- 7:49Speaker 1: heartbreak we've gotten some of the best hit just music
- 7:53Speaker 1: in general ever, you know, my beautiful, dark, twisted Fantasy.
- 7:56Speaker 1: We could go on and on down the line, but
- 7:58Speaker 1: like how much of that specific situation was like the
- 8:03Speaker 1: catalyst for just the inspiration of the project. It was
- 8:07Speaker 1: just that it woke you know, when you're in a relationship,
- 8:11Speaker 1: you kind of I shouldn't speak for other people, like
- 8:13Speaker 1: for me, like I was just it was really a
- 8:15Speaker 1: part of me. It's like part of my identity. And
- 8:17Speaker 1: I was in the thing. It was like my first relationship,
- 8:21Speaker 1: and I made a lot of mistakes with it, and
- 8:23Speaker 1: like I strung this girl around and shit, and like
- 8:27Speaker 1: she so she was like a big part of my
- 8:28Speaker 1: life for a while. And it wasn't that I'm so
- 8:31Speaker 1: sad about this breakup. It's that it being by myself
- 8:34Speaker 1: for the first time, Like it woke these things up
- 8:38Speaker 1: in myself, and you know, I had to go down
- 8:42Speaker 1: some some like negative shits, Like that's what the whole
- 8:46Speaker 1: Like Pink is Better is is like pink is like
- 8:49Speaker 1: represent it represents a lot, but it's like the balance
- 8:52Speaker 1: of these two two sides, that these two like roads
- 8:55Speaker 1: that I went down to within the last within the
- 8:58Speaker 1: last like two years. One of them is like this
- 9:00Speaker 1: red hot fun shit, you know, having new crib space,
- 9:08Speaker 1: I can do whatever the fuck I want to here
- 9:10Speaker 1: my neighbors are so far away, like I can really
- 9:13Speaker 1: like have fun, like real fun for the first time.
- 9:17Speaker 1: And then this other thing that woke up with me
- 9:20Speaker 1: is like just feeling like I never really feel defeated,
- 9:24Speaker 1: Like I'm a very confident person, but when I was younger,
- 9:27Speaker 1: I used to feel defeated, Like that's what brought me
- 9:29Speaker 1: music and shit. I used to just like want to
- 9:32Speaker 1: give up, bro real And what the breakup did was
- 9:36Speaker 1: made me feel like I failed in something. And then
- 9:39Speaker 1: that's feeling of failure. That's what the line you brought
- 9:42Speaker 1: up is connected to. Like it just made me feel
- 9:44Speaker 1: like it just reminded me of like what it even
- 9:46Speaker 1: feels like to like, damn, failure is an option, and
- 9:50Speaker 1: it led me down this road of just like feeling
- 9:52Speaker 1: like I'm not that I would give up, but just
- 9:54Speaker 1: like down on myself. And that represents like the white side,
- 9:57Speaker 1: like the white flag side, like giving up and shit.
- 9:59Speaker 1: So that's kind of the whole album is like themed
- 10:01Speaker 1: about these two rows that went down, and the whole
- 10:03Speaker 1: album was like, you know, I want people to like
- 10:06Speaker 1: decide their own shit about it, but it's really about
- 10:09Speaker 1: finding the balance of you can still have fun, you
- 10:12Speaker 1: can still be in touch with your emotions, but don't
- 10:14Speaker 1: know d on it, Like I have a tendency to
- 10:17Speaker 1: owe d on shit. Like listen, man, I think that
- 10:20Speaker 1: this is the kind of project that like could change
- 10:23Speaker 1: your life because I feel like there's not a lot
- 10:25Speaker 1: of music coming out that is very relatable that people
- 10:28Speaker 1: are very vulnerable on, that are like honest and you're
- 10:32Speaker 1: very honest on this body work. Talk about this caught
- 10:34Speaker 1: on camera record? No one asked me about that one. Yeahah,
- 10:38Speaker 1: the caught on camera record. Now I listened to it,
- 10:41Speaker 1: and did you get caught on camera fucking some of somebody?
- 10:45Speaker 1: What is this record about? Caught on camera? It's like
- 10:51Speaker 1: the catalyst from my breakup? Yeah, okay, so what happened?
- 10:55Speaker 1: So you just I mean listen, you put it on
- 10:57Speaker 1: the album, so we you know, yeah, yeah, she just
- 11:02Speaker 1: like saw some ship. So you got caught on camera
- 11:04Speaker 1: doing something like was it like a sex tape or
- 11:08Speaker 1: was it like you know, you're out and somebody is
- 11:11Speaker 1: put you on the story and you're with a bitch
- 11:13Speaker 1: on this you know that happens, Like yes to both
- 11:17Speaker 1: of those. So it was a sex tape and that
- 11:22Speaker 1: uh yeah, damn man, you you're a wild boy. How
- 11:27Speaker 1: did did something? Did someone did you have? Like let's
- 11:30Speaker 1: break down, this was the sex tape on your phone?
- 11:33Speaker 1: Or did someone send it to her? Did I already
- 11:38Speaker 1: confirm that was a sex tape? I feel like I
- 11:39Speaker 1: didn't even do that. You just did? You said yes
- 11:42Speaker 1: to both. I don't like subscribe to this, by the way,
- 11:49Speaker 1: but at that point in my life, it's just so
- 11:53Speaker 1: much news shit going on, and like what I've learned about,
- 11:56Speaker 1: like what I've learned about something in me is like, well,
- 11:59Speaker 1: my life is fast, and there's a lot of exciting shit.
- 12:04Speaker 1: It's it's moving. It's like a lot of like crazy
- 12:07Speaker 1: shows and crazy experiences. I always try to like match
- 12:12Speaker 1: that energy with some shit. I always try to because
- 12:15Speaker 1: it's like when you get fit, because I've been like
- 12:18Speaker 1: I've had really highs, like really big highs, Like I
- 12:23Speaker 1: probably lived more than I should have with this level
- 12:26Speaker 1: of fame. I'm that because I feel like only people
- 12:29Speaker 1: know me as like my fans right now. But I've
- 12:31Speaker 1: lived like a lot of shit has gone on, so
- 12:33Speaker 1: so you know, I've done shit where it's like you
- 12:38Speaker 1: if you haven't lived it it, I think it's just
- 12:41Speaker 1: kind of hard to understand. But when these big highs
- 12:44Speaker 1: of like performing and everybody like needing something from you,
- 12:48Speaker 1: it's it's very quick to for me, at least to
- 12:52Speaker 1: feel very low afterward. Like I've had like shows where
- 12:57Speaker 1: it's like the highest I've ever been, and then I
- 13:00Speaker 1: it in the tour bus. I just cry or I
- 13:02Speaker 1: just like go my go to the bathroom and just
- 13:05Speaker 1: like be so down. So what the only thing that
- 13:09Speaker 1: like makes that makes that going from here to going
- 13:13Speaker 1: from here, like what I tried to do in my
- 13:16Speaker 1: life is like stay the fuck up there with some shit,
- 13:18Speaker 1: and that just makes you make decisions that are like
- 13:22Speaker 1: not within your character, you know. So I think at
- 13:25Speaker 1: this point like I know how to balance it a
- 13:28Speaker 1: little more. The difference is back then I felt very
- 13:33Speaker 1: like my eyes were so big, like like the last project.
- 13:37Speaker 1: The last project, I'm like whoa, like this girl thinks
- 13:41Speaker 1: this and and you got groupies now and this money
- 13:45Speaker 1: or female fans that are willing to show you how
- 13:47Speaker 1: appreciative of just your music they are. But whatever, even
- 13:51Speaker 1: it is like you know, like whatever, And I was
- 13:55Speaker 1: like I treated every famous person I met. It was like,
- 13:58Speaker 1: this is I got to take advantage of this upper
- 14:00Speaker 1: This is so much bigger than me. Now I feel
- 14:03Speaker 1: like I belong here. This is what I'm this is
- 14:06Speaker 1: what my this is. It doesn't feel so far fetched anymore.
- 14:09Speaker 1: If this was an interview where I was doing this
- 14:12Speaker 1: like three years ago, I would be nervous. I'd be like,
- 14:15Speaker 1: make sure you're come across the right way. Now I
- 14:17Speaker 1: don't really give a fuck because I know I'm here
- 14:19Speaker 1: for like me, like this is probably the first time
- 14:22Speaker 1: like this press shit I'm doing that. My friends are
- 14:25Speaker 1: gonna watch these interviews and they can be like, that's
- 14:27Speaker 1: my friend yourself, yeah, the last one that the I mean,
- 14:30Speaker 1: I don't really watch my old interviews, but I have
- 14:32Speaker 1: a feeling like my friends would be like, oh, I
- 14:34Speaker 1: see what he's doing. He's trying to like do his business,
- 14:36Speaker 1: he's trying to like but now it's just like I
- 14:38Speaker 1: don't I know I'm here to be me, so I'm
- 14:40Speaker 1: just be me. That's how I'm really gonna survive. That's
- 14:43Speaker 1: how I'm really gonna last. Because I can rewrite history.
- 14:46Speaker 1: I can. I can try to recreate history and wrap
- 14:48Speaker 1: and go viral. I know what it's like to go viral.
- 14:50Speaker 1: I know what it's like to do that. I've done it.
- 14:52Speaker 1: I've seen what it does. It's cool for a week,
- 14:57Speaker 1: But if it's not you it, it doesn't feel as
- 14:59Speaker 1: good as you think it does. What feels good is
- 15:01Speaker 1: this album. And even if it doesn't do what I
- 15:04Speaker 1: wanted to do. But if there's some people who say, like, bro,
- 15:07Speaker 1: I love that song, that's like someone saying I love you,
- 15:10Speaker 1: That's what it feels like. So I feel so much
- 15:12Speaker 1: better now. I just feel because you're like this, this
- 15:14Speaker 1: album is me. This is my life right now. Yeah,
- 15:17Speaker 1: I have nothing high Like that's dope. Man. You talked
- 15:21Speaker 1: a lot about your family on the album. For people
- 15:24Speaker 1: who don't know, I kind of give us like a
- 15:26Speaker 1: little breakdown of like where you come from, Like you
- 15:29Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, like where you're from and yeah,
- 15:31Speaker 1: and just kind of some of your come up. Yeah,
- 15:32Speaker 1: I'm originally from Salem, Massachusetts, but I spent like the
- 15:36Speaker 1: majority of like my forming years in this like small
- 15:40Speaker 1: town Marblehead. Basically, my parents were together in Salem. My
- 15:45Speaker 1: mom my mom was born in my I think my
- 15:47Speaker 1: mom was born in Salem for real. She was born
- 15:50Speaker 1: in Massachusetts, and she always talks about the Salem with shit,
- 15:53Speaker 1: so she was born around there somewhere. Yeah. But I
- 15:56Speaker 1: but I for real spent like most of my like
- 15:58Speaker 1: I went to school. I ended up going to scho
- 16:00Speaker 1: go to Marblehood because I was staying with my mom.
- 16:02Speaker 1: My dad stayed in Salem, so I was kind of
- 16:03Speaker 1: bouncing back and forth. But my my like friends and
- 16:06Speaker 1: shit that I developed, we're in Marblehead and shit, Like
- 16:11Speaker 1: you know, people have it like much more like hard
- 16:14Speaker 1: than me and stuff. But I was just always like
- 16:16Speaker 1: a kid who just just felt a lot like it
- 16:18Speaker 1: was like you know, I just I just always felt
- 16:23Speaker 1: very like overflowed, like I always I always felt very
- 16:27Speaker 1: different and like it's hard to ex like I had.
- 16:30Speaker 1: You know, it wasn't the crazies. Shit in my house.
- 16:32Speaker 1: There's a lot of fights. There's fights about money and everybody.
- 16:35Speaker 1: You know, I grow up from a family that everyone's
- 16:37Speaker 1: on like medication and shit. For feelings and stuff. So
- 16:43Speaker 1: that's where I come from. Like I come from a
- 16:46Speaker 1: very emotional family, and I think that's why I like
- 16:50Speaker 1: feel a lot. But you know, and I was just
- 16:54Speaker 1: a kid who at a young age. I know it
- 16:57Speaker 1: sounds stupid, but when I was like like starting when
- 17:01Speaker 1: I was like or maybe starting when I was like
- 17:02Speaker 1: six or five, like, I was just so sad, Like
- 17:06Speaker 1: every day I woke up, it was just like fuck this,
- 17:09Speaker 1: Like I just and I know it sounds silly because
- 17:12Speaker 1: you think yourself when you're six, but I'm telling you,
- 17:14Speaker 1: like every day I was just like, wow, am I here? Bro?
- 17:17Speaker 1: Like I just felt like I like, there wasn't a
- 17:21Speaker 1: day I didn't like just cry about my life. And
- 17:25Speaker 1: then but really that's what brought me to writing about it,
- 17:27Speaker 1: and it just made me feel so much better. I
- 17:29Speaker 1: literally just felt overploned. I had to write about it,
- 17:32Speaker 1: and it made me feel better. So one thing led
- 17:35Speaker 1: to another. It found form in music, and then my
- 17:40Speaker 1: earliest songs are just me like talking about like sad shit. Yeah,
- 17:45Speaker 1: I mean I kind of remember like listening to some
- 17:46Speaker 1: of your shit and like not really remembering there being books. Yeah.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Well it's funny because like I'm saying when I'm like
- 17:54Speaker 1: ten eleven twelve thirteen, you were rapping at that point. Yeah,
- 17:57Speaker 1: I was releasing songs. I was like on you two
- 18:00Speaker 1: by ten, ten eleven, twelve thirteen, all my songs were
- 18:04Speaker 1: like I'm sad, and then fourteen is like no. I
- 18:09Speaker 1: was like, no one is, no one is listening, Like
- 18:12Speaker 1: I was just getting like clown down in school and
- 18:14Speaker 1: stuff and like I didn't get it. Wasn't like getting attention.
- 18:17Speaker 1: And then I ended up like losing like a bunch
- 18:21Speaker 1: of weight at that age, and it showed me that
- 18:23Speaker 1: like if you work hard towards something like you can
- 18:27Speaker 1: get it. And I'm like what am I? And then
- 18:29Speaker 1: I decided like I'm gonna try this music shit. And
- 18:31Speaker 1: then I tried to like really think about it, and
- 18:33Speaker 1: I was like, what do people actually want to see?
- 18:35Speaker 1: And then I was like, oh, people just want to
- 18:37Speaker 1: see like that this little white cake can rap, Like
- 18:39Speaker 1: That's what I was thinking. And then it started working short,
- 18:43Speaker 1: So yeah, so one thing led to another where it's
- 18:46Speaker 1: just like, oh, they want to see I can rap.
- 18:47Speaker 1: They want to see I can rap, and just and
- 18:51Speaker 1: now I got this bass that like there's a lot
- 18:53Speaker 1: of people that just want to see me rap, but
- 18:55Speaker 1: they don't like the beginning, the core of this shit.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Why am I even doing this? Why I need this
- 19:01Speaker 1: is because writing about my shit. So that's what this
- 19:05Speaker 1: album is like. That's why I feel it was like
- 19:07Speaker 1: better because I feel like Ben again, Like I haven't
- 19:09Speaker 1: felt like Ben since I was like thirteen. Now you
- 19:13Speaker 1: know wait wait wait? How old were you when you
- 19:15Speaker 1: went on Sway? Because that was that was I feel
- 19:18Speaker 1: like that was kind of like a moment that changed
- 19:20Speaker 1: things for you. I changed things for me. Yeah, I
- 19:22Speaker 1: think I was seventeen. Who was in the room when
- 19:25Speaker 1: you were rapping? Because there was someone else there? There
- 19:27Speaker 1: was Tracy G was there another? I feel like there
- 19:30Speaker 1: were other rappers. Was there another rapper that was there?
- 19:32Speaker 1: That was there were two other rappers? Do you remember
- 19:34Speaker 1: who they were? I don't, but shout out to them.
- 19:36Speaker 1: I love you guys, no disrespect. They're killing it. Yeah. No,
- 19:42Speaker 1: I remember seeing that and being like, oh shit, this
- 19:44Speaker 1: is you just look so unassuming and just like like
- 19:47Speaker 1: someone like I grew up with nervous. Yeah. I was
- 19:49Speaker 1: just trying to I just the opportunity felt so much
- 19:51Speaker 1: bigger than me, so I just like had to go crazy.
- 19:54Speaker 1: How like, when do you feel like you started to
- 19:56Speaker 1: kind of break out of the quote unquote because you
- 19:59Speaker 1: kind to had pointed out that people would didn't you
- 20:03Speaker 1: have a song called YouTube rapper? Yeah? Yeah, so and
- 20:06Speaker 1: I remember that was like a thing. Yeah, because I'm
- 20:08Speaker 1: tight with Futuristic who's from Phoenix, and people will call
- 20:10Speaker 1: him a YouTube rapper. And then there's guys like Das
- 20:12Speaker 1: who are called you know, like, but I feel like
- 20:14Speaker 1: you kind of break broke that mold? What what like?
- 20:19Speaker 1: When when did that happen where you felt like you
- 20:21Speaker 1: kind of finally started to kind of shake that that. Yeah,
- 20:24Speaker 1: I don't know if they really ever like people people
- 20:28Speaker 1: never was like he's a YouTube rapper because they knew
- 20:31Speaker 1: like I always like have real real like when you
- 20:34Speaker 1: listen to to real songs about me, like you would
- 20:37Speaker 1: see my attention to detail. Well, I guess I don't
- 20:39Speaker 1: even know what a YouTube rapper is. I guess you
- 20:41Speaker 1: made the fucking song, but I don't know me. Yeah,
- 20:43Speaker 1: I don't know. Yeah, people call me a rapper. Like
- 20:48Speaker 1: at first, at first they called me like a cipher
- 20:51Speaker 1: rapper because I was just like going around to Boston
- 20:53Speaker 1: and like doing ciphers, so they just always just like
- 20:56Speaker 1: local people. It's like he's just a cipher. And then
- 20:58Speaker 1: I started going viral on Facebook and my Facebook rapper,
- 21:01Speaker 1: then YouTube, and then I did the stupid shit on
- 21:03Speaker 1: TikTok at twenty twenty just to like feed people, and
- 21:08Speaker 1: they call me a TikTok wrapper, and then went viral
- 21:10Speaker 1: on Twitter and then they call on me Twitter rappers.
- 21:12Speaker 1: So they just had to feel like you've mastered the
- 21:14Speaker 1: internet for sure. Yeah, It's like, at what point can
- 21:17Speaker 1: I just be a rapper? Yeah? But or a musician?
- 21:21Speaker 1: But uh so, I don't know. I guess, I guess
- 21:27Speaker 1: it depends who you ask. Like I never, I never.
- 21:30Speaker 1: I always knew I wasn't because I sold more tickets
- 21:33Speaker 1: and everybody facts did do you think you hitting the
- 21:36Speaker 1: road early with like someone like hops In and seeing
- 21:38Speaker 1: like how he kind of cultivated that cult following? Yeah,
- 21:42Speaker 1: like did that help? Yeah? Yeah, for sure help. I
- 21:44Speaker 1: toured it, I like did some ship before Hopson and
- 21:47Speaker 1: then I and then we did we toured the world together.
- 21:50Speaker 1: We did like like the US, Canada. The nicest guy
- 21:54Speaker 1: for sure, great guy face and everything. Yeah, but uh
- 22:01Speaker 1: uh yeah, and then I just started touring and then
- 22:03Speaker 1: like my manager for real was like you got a
- 22:05Speaker 1: real base, like you need to tour this, and and
- 22:09Speaker 1: I just prioritized touring since you know, I always see
- 22:12Speaker 1: it like I've done like five tours in Europe. I
- 22:14Speaker 1: don't even know. And I'm just lucky that like people
- 22:17Speaker 1: in Europe like me, so it's not just like some
- 22:19Speaker 1: US shit, Like I can sell more tickets in Europe
- 22:22Speaker 1: than I can the US. What's your biggest market? Uh,
- 22:24Speaker 1: in Europe? Probably the UK. We did like I don't
- 22:27Speaker 1: even know how many tickets every single show sold out.
- 22:30Speaker 1: I saw more tickets in like London than I did
- 22:32Speaker 1: in my hometown. I was wonder that, like artists who
- 22:35Speaker 1: have like huge followings overseas, like, uh my, Homi Gashi
- 22:39Speaker 1: is like Goshi. I just called him Gashy, But what
- 22:43Speaker 1: the fuck is he calling himself? Now? I know he
- 22:45Speaker 1: dropped the four out of his name, but he's super
- 22:47Speaker 1: huge overseas. Like is that like when you when you're
- 22:51Speaker 1: like more popping overseas. I guess if you feel like
- 22:53Speaker 1: you're like more hardcore fans are over there, does it?
- 22:55Speaker 1: Is it kind of weird? Like like a fork in
- 22:59Speaker 1: the road where you're like, all right, well, should we
- 23:00Speaker 1: like kind of start focusing more on doing it over here?
- 23:03Speaker 1: Like uh, all money is green, But there's also like
- 23:08Speaker 1: I'm from the US, so I want to really go
- 23:10Speaker 1: crazy here. Well it's not that it's not that far off.
- 23:12Speaker 1: It's not like I'm the I'm a European. Like it's
- 23:15Speaker 1: not like a fucking European pop star. No, like I
- 23:18Speaker 1: got I got, I got core fans in the in
- 23:21Speaker 1: the like you're not going to get a flat in
- 23:24Speaker 1: the UK. Yeah, no, no, no no, no, no, I you
- 23:28Speaker 1: know it's it's it really showed me like damn, I
- 23:32Speaker 1: don't know, I don't know what about it. Like I wonder,
- 23:34Speaker 1: honestly speaking, I wonder if it's like you know, people
- 23:37Speaker 1: have like other people love to say, like oh people
- 23:40Speaker 1: don't give you a chance because you're white. But I've
- 23:42Speaker 1: seen like the privilege, even in a hip hop sense,
- 23:45Speaker 1: Like I wonder like would I even be this big
- 23:48Speaker 1: in Europe if I didn't look like them? Like is
- 23:50Speaker 1: it my music or is it? Like you know what's
- 23:53Speaker 1: crazy is now you're you're right, because like I remember
- 23:57Speaker 1: in the nineties and two thousands, like all the alternative
- 24:01Speaker 1: rock stations are playing eminem and we're playing it rap
- 24:05Speaker 1: records on rock stations, and it's like people don't. Yeah,
- 24:09Speaker 1: people don't. I wonder what's different about eminem Yeah, for real,
- 24:15Speaker 1: for real. It's like people think that shit is dead.
- 24:17Speaker 1: People think that, like you know, you know, when I'm
- 24:20Speaker 1: on like certain lists, people like love to say, man,
- 24:24Speaker 1: they're only doing that because and it's like, bro, like
- 24:27Speaker 1: you don't even know like a lot of people, like,
- 24:30Speaker 1: I mean, a lot of people just don't. They don't.
- 24:33Speaker 1: They don't like feel the responsibility that I feel, like
- 24:36Speaker 1: just being aware that I'm white in a culture that
- 24:39Speaker 1: like it's not for me. So I mean that's part
- 24:41Speaker 1: of the reason why I am so truthful, because like
- 24:43Speaker 1: I'm not pretending to be something I'm not. And at
- 24:46Speaker 1: the same time, as like maybe some of that exists, bro,
- 24:50Speaker 1: like you can see shit from the other side and
- 24:53Speaker 1: it's real life, and it's like I don't expect fans
- 24:55Speaker 1: to see that. I don't expect fans to know that,
- 24:57Speaker 1: but I've seen it, bro, and I'm in hip hop yo.

- 25:52Speaker 1: the project this record with Little Skies, which is the
- 25:54Speaker 1: only video that's out right now, right, No, there's I
- 25:57Speaker 1: got a video with Rico, Rico Nasty High Heels and
- 26:01Speaker 1: then I've been like spacing out the city. I saw
- 26:04Speaker 1: you put a trailer out for No No that that
- 26:07Speaker 1: this video for high Heels, Chit Chat and Sit. I
- 26:10Speaker 1: just dropped them a while ago. But the on that record,
- 26:15Speaker 1: uh shout out to Little Skuys another amazing dude. Man, Yeah,
- 26:19Speaker 1: nice guy. You talk about your sister drug problem, right,
- 26:25Speaker 1: which is you know, I come from a family of
- 26:27Speaker 1: nothing but uh just drug addicts. And you know, I've
- 26:33Speaker 1: witnessed a bunch of people overdose and I had a
- 26:35Speaker 1: pretty fuck up childhood myself. But like, what, what's what?
- 26:39Speaker 1: What's what's the you know, for people who are going
- 26:41Speaker 1: through that, who have loved ones who are dealing with that, ship, Like,
- 26:45Speaker 1: you know, how's that? Like, what is some advice you
- 26:47Speaker 1: could give them to cope with that? Man? I think
- 26:51Speaker 1: like all situations are different, So I don't really think
- 26:54Speaker 1: my sister's like she's one of the most special people,
- 26:58Speaker 1: if not the most special person, Like my life like
- 27:00Speaker 1: she's she's like like it's hard for me to compare
- 27:04Speaker 1: it to anybody else because her story isn't like some
- 27:08Speaker 1: person who got into some ship. Like she's so much
- 27:11Speaker 1: bigger than that. Like at this point, she's tackled it
- 27:13Speaker 1: and she's just back. She's she's like, she really inspires me.
- 27:16Speaker 1: She's the one who like show me music and everything.
- 27:18Speaker 1: She's like, she's like an amazing, amazing person. So, I mean,
- 27:22Speaker 1: where the biggest the biggest takeaway from that whole thing
- 27:26Speaker 1: was because I was dealing with my own ship at
- 27:28Speaker 1: the same time, and and seeing you know, it just
- 27:35Speaker 1: it just showed me like this is in my blood,
- 27:37Speaker 1: you know, Like it's not just drugs. It's just like
- 27:42Speaker 1: it's just like over obsession. It's just like your family
- 27:46Speaker 1: in general. Like yeah, I mean you mentioned your mom
- 27:50Speaker 1: was eating, Like did she have like an eating problem?
- 27:52Speaker 1: When you were like you was like, yeah, I just
- 27:53Speaker 1: been around a lot of ship. That's that's excessive o
- 27:58Speaker 1: D and ship and like and and I've done that too,
- 28:02Speaker 1: and and and what was weird about it is that, like,
- 28:06Speaker 1: in a sense, it's really helped my career because I
- 28:09Speaker 1: focused the fuck on my shit, on your craft. I'm like, bro,
- 28:12Speaker 1: that's why it's so hard for me to keep a
- 28:14Speaker 1: fucking relationship healthy because it's like I am so focused
- 28:17Speaker 1: on this shit, Like it's hard for me to like
- 28:20Speaker 1: really focus on some other shit. I'm obsessed, like with music,
- 28:24Speaker 1: like I'm obsessed with it. It's hard to talk about
- 28:26Speaker 1: some other shit sometimes, so like you know, like I
- 28:33Speaker 1: you know, I didn't touch anything until well, I was
- 28:36Speaker 1: getting like fucked up at like ten eleven, twelve thirteen,
- 28:39Speaker 1: like really stupid early. But when I was fortun what though,
- 28:42Speaker 1: just like weed and drinking and shit, but too early,
- 28:46Speaker 1: like I wasn't ready. So then I was like, this
- 28:48Speaker 1: isn't for me. And then when and then do you
- 28:52Speaker 1: remember the first time you smoked weed? Did it did
- 28:54Speaker 1: it hurt? Because I remember when I bro I didn't
- 28:56Speaker 1: get high until I had to smoke weed mad times
- 28:58Speaker 1: before I got high. It was weird. I remember the
- 29:00Speaker 1: first time I ever hit something that was a pipe,
- 29:03Speaker 1: and I just remember it hurt my throat bad and
- 29:05Speaker 1: I was like a kid. I don't remember that, but
- 29:07Speaker 1: I remember the first time I got high. I felt
- 29:10Speaker 1: like I'm uh, oh, they don't know they like a
- 29:13Speaker 1: little person. I felt like a little person on stilts
- 29:16Speaker 1: and mad colors and shit. And at that point I
- 29:19Speaker 1: smoked weed mad times, so I already thought I'd been
- 29:22Speaker 1: getting high and it was just a placebo thing. So
- 29:24Speaker 1: the first time I actually got high, I was like,
- 29:27Speaker 1: this is the best weed ever. This is like magical.
- 29:30Speaker 1: We need to make this shit last, right, And by
- 29:34Speaker 1: the way, shout out to you man twenty twenty two,
- 29:36Speaker 1: little person not a midget. Yeah see bro, see you
- 29:40Speaker 1: bro win getting canceled over here, motherfuckers anyway, go ahead,
- 29:43Speaker 1: but uh yeah, and then I was this little ass
- 29:47Speaker 1: kid getting high, like so high. Where were you getting
- 29:52Speaker 1: your weed from? That? That who was your plug? This
- 29:58Speaker 1: is his name, just like some dude in the hood,
- 30:01Speaker 1: like neighborhood. Sure the statute of limitations, all right, at
- 30:05Speaker 1: this point, I don't think it's that you're just getting
- 30:09Speaker 1: higher ship as a little kid so high and then
- 30:12Speaker 1: uh and then it started giving me anxiety like bad
- 30:17Speaker 1: like not sleeping and ship. Uh. So then I was
- 30:21Speaker 1: like and that it was around the same time that
- 30:23Speaker 1: was happening, and I was starting to focus on music
- 30:25Speaker 1: more so. Then I took the route like I just
- 30:28Speaker 1: got to focus. I can't let anything mess with my mindset.
- 30:31Speaker 1: And then I was like just that kid, I was
- 30:33Speaker 1: like the sober kid. And then and then I started
- 30:38Speaker 1: and then went on to a hopson. So it's easy
- 30:40Speaker 1: to like not fuck with shit because because he's a
- 30:42Speaker 1: straight edge yeah uh. And then you know, I grew
- 30:48Speaker 1: up and I just realized it's not really that deep
- 30:50Speaker 1: as long as you like control ship. Problem is I
- 30:54Speaker 1: began not controlling ship. You know, did you ever dabble
- 30:57Speaker 1: with any other ship besides the weed? Not really know,
- 31:00Speaker 1: like like like no, and I'm not even a big
- 31:02Speaker 1: weed smoker. It was mostly alcohol. It was mostly like
- 31:06Speaker 1: it's mostly that uh, and just like it was just
- 31:13Speaker 1: in a it was an escape, you know, like it
- 31:18Speaker 1: sometimes it was just like the only thing when out
- 31:21Speaker 1: when music wasn't doing it was the only thing that
- 31:23Speaker 1: made me feel happy. Like I just remember being like
- 31:27Speaker 1: I want to be happy. I want to drink. Like
- 31:29Speaker 1: they were like becoming that they were they were beginning
- 31:32Speaker 1: to feel like synonymous kind of like I wouldn't really
- 31:34Speaker 1: have a good time without it. And it happened so quick.
- 31:38Speaker 1: It was like I was sober recently, like and they
- 31:43Speaker 1: just showed me how quick I can go places like
- 31:46Speaker 1: how quick I can like well, and then all should
- 31:48Speaker 1: happened with my sister and I'm like whoa and then
- 31:50Speaker 1: and then other stuff and and yeah, so so yeah,
- 31:55Speaker 1: you got jid on the album you got Benning the
- 31:58Speaker 1: Butcher on the album too. The best rappers in the
- 32:01Speaker 1: world as well, you know, but uh, who are like
- 32:04Speaker 1: some of the MC's. Obviously those two are, I'm sure
- 32:07Speaker 1: on that list, But who are some of the other
- 32:09Speaker 1: mcs that kind of just inspire you that you're a
- 32:10Speaker 1: fan of right now that you're like people the people
- 32:13Speaker 1: who inspire me the most, like for this album, we're
- 32:18Speaker 1: like just in general, man, I mean you're a hip
- 32:19Speaker 1: hop kids in general. I mean honestly what I'm I'm
- 32:23Speaker 1: inspired by, Like Earl Sweatshirt, I love Lucky, I love
- 32:30Speaker 1: every talking about shit I'm listening to now like Bka
- 32:33Speaker 1: the Ruler Cardi. But you know I come from like
- 32:38Speaker 1: you know, Jay and Push and Right and Am and
- 32:44Speaker 1: like I'm like a Wayne stand Like I only listen
- 32:47Speaker 1: to Wayne mixtapes, Like that's all I listened to sometimes?
- 32:51Speaker 1: Is Wayne your goat? Like Wayne, Wayne, Yay Jay? Uh,
- 33:02Speaker 1: Like I don't even know bro, like maybe Kendrick but
- 33:06Speaker 1: like maybe future but like maybe who am I forget?
- 33:12Speaker 1: I don't know, but like my three like people, I'm like,
- 33:15Speaker 1: Yay Yay has changed my life. Wayne has changed my
- 33:17Speaker 1: life and like Jay has, like I don't know changed
- 33:21Speaker 1: my life, but like really like I like him. I
- 33:23Speaker 1: always say if people, if you have Biggie in your
- 33:26Speaker 1: top five, I respect it. He only had two albums. Yeah,
- 33:29Speaker 1: so if I say I got Kendrick in my top five,
- 33:32Speaker 1: you can't say shit to me if you're an old motherfucker.
- 33:34Speaker 1: Because Kendrick got three. I mean, we're not even including
- 33:37Speaker 1: his mixtapes or Section eighty, but his three official major
- 33:41Speaker 1: albums are all classics. Like, yeah, it's stupid, it's stupid,
- 33:45Speaker 1: but yeah, I went through like a huge like I
- 33:48Speaker 1: went through a huge Kendrick phase. I listened to him
- 33:50Speaker 1: too much and I just start to sound like him.
- 33:52Speaker 1: I was gonna say, do you feel like I do?
- 33:53Speaker 1: Feel like that's a thing. Right if you're an artist
- 33:55Speaker 1: and if you're like really listening to so much shit,
- 33:58Speaker 1: can it influence you when you record drone shit? Yeah?
- 34:01Speaker 1: Well right now? Well, like I said, I obsess over things,
- 34:05Speaker 1: no matter what it is. It could be the stupidest thing,
- 34:07Speaker 1: Like I'm those bars I was eating, Like I'm obsessed
- 34:10Speaker 1: with those right now. But it's a healthy it's like healthy,
- 34:15Speaker 1: So like I used to be obsessed with eminem That's
- 34:17Speaker 1: why I used to sound like eminem That's why I
- 34:18Speaker 1: stopped listening. There was a stage where I was obsessed
- 34:21Speaker 1: with Kendrick. When Damn came out, I only listened to
- 34:24Speaker 1: Kendrick and then I made like three songs and I
- 34:26Speaker 1: released them and they all sounded like Kendrick and people
- 34:28Speaker 1: like you sound like Kendrick, and I was like, that
- 34:29Speaker 1: makes sense. I only listened to Kendrick, So I like
- 34:32Speaker 1: took a step away, and now I try to like now,
- 34:35Speaker 1: maybe I don't know who I would sound like. I
- 34:36Speaker 1: listen to different shit now, but yeah, what would you say? Well,
- 34:40Speaker 1: how about this when you looked at your Spotify wrap
- 34:44Speaker 1: up for the year. I don't know if you Spotify
- 34:46Speaker 1: or Apple Music, but did you like who did you
- 34:48Speaker 1: listen to the most last year? Because it tells you right, Yeah,
- 34:50Speaker 1: I listened to Cardi the most because I love whole
- 34:53Speaker 1: lot of ren. I listened to Tyler's album the most
- 34:57Speaker 1: that as well. I listened Westside Gun BK the Ruler.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Those are like my n Yeah, I think shout out
- 35:04Speaker 1: to Cardi, man, that's an acquired taste. Yeah, I mean
- 35:06Speaker 1: your Cardi has just changed my life. Where I was
- 35:08Speaker 1: late to Cardi and like like I still am like not, yeah,
- 35:12Speaker 1: I'm not there yet. I don't know if I'll ever
- 35:13Speaker 1: get there, but I'm gonna be honest. I've listened a
- 35:15Speaker 1: whole lot of Red and I was like, yeah, man,
- 35:19Speaker 1: this just ain't for me. That's the only honestly, Playboard
- 35:22Speaker 1: Carti is the only artist that I've ever listened to
- 35:25Speaker 1: where I just threw my hands in the air and
- 35:27Speaker 1: was like, I'm old, this is it, It's happened. I
- 35:30Speaker 1: can listen to Ouzzy, I can listen to the Future,
- 35:33Speaker 1: I can listen to any of the new shit, little
- 35:34Speaker 1: Pump even when Pump was popping in he had a
- 35:38Speaker 1: few of those, Like few of those records on sound
- 35:39Speaker 1: Club are fires. Fuck the Cardi shit, It's just music
- 35:45Speaker 1: is subjected. It's sure the powers of you to being honest,
- 35:49Speaker 1: because bro, I know some not saying you're old, but
- 35:51Speaker 1: I know some old people who like, yeah, I get it.
- 35:54Speaker 1: I just really get Playboard Cardi, Like I get what
- 35:57Speaker 1: he's trying to do. And it's like they don't fuck up.
- 36:00Speaker 1: They don't. They're probably like they probably live in like
- 36:03Speaker 1: those people you're talking about, probably living like Williamsburg in Brooklyn,
- 36:06Speaker 1: and they probably sip lot bro, just listen to music
- 36:08Speaker 1: you want. It's not that deep. Sure, the but you
- 36:12Speaker 1: got to fucking de collected tajing from Westside Gun to
- 36:14Speaker 1: Playboy CARDI, that's that's a beautiful thing. Yeah, were you
- 36:18Speaker 1: like obviously signed with Atlantic's a big deal. But was
- 36:20Speaker 1: there ever a time where you ever considered signing anywhere else?
- 36:23Speaker 1: I'm sure everyone was courting you for a while, you know, yeah,
- 36:28Speaker 1: I mean, of course it was all a discussion, but
- 36:30Speaker 1: I I didn't feel like, listen, I'm just blessed to
- 36:35Speaker 1: like have what I've done independently and still have that independently.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Like so I was just able to Money was never
- 36:45Speaker 1: the thing that made me make a decision, Like, I'm
- 36:47Speaker 1: just very lucky to I'm okay in that in that area.
- 36:51Speaker 1: So it was really just about people who I felt
- 36:53Speaker 1: like aligned with what I was trying to accomplish, and
- 36:58Speaker 1: just it was just timing for me because I know
- 37:00Speaker 1: if I signed earlier, I know I wasn't ready Like now,
- 37:04Speaker 1: whether it happens this album or the next album, Like
- 37:06Speaker 1: I know this records on this album that if the
- 37:08Speaker 1: world's heard, they would be huge records. Now it's just
- 37:10Speaker 1: like getting into the world. And before I was never
- 37:13Speaker 1: like making big sounding records like now you know now
- 37:17Speaker 1: it's just and it happened real naturally. I never was
- 37:19Speaker 1: like we got to make a hit like Atlantic was
- 37:22Speaker 1: never like that either, Like it was never on some
- 37:26Speaker 1: you know, we we we have an understanding of like
- 37:28Speaker 1: what I'm trying to do. I think they have a
- 37:30Speaker 1: lot of respect for I feel more comfortable going like
- 37:33Speaker 1: this rather than you know, because I'm all I mean
- 37:37Speaker 1: on that same record, we're time earlier you had said,
- 37:39Speaker 1: And maybe I'll just let them have someone write me
- 37:41Speaker 1: some hits or some shit. Yeah, which is the thing
- 37:43Speaker 1: that Atlantic has done. Shout out to Bruno Mars. I
- 37:46Speaker 1: don't know, Bob, remember yo, shout out Atlantic because they
- 37:52Speaker 1: they had Bruno Mars on every fucking hook in like
- 37:55Speaker 1: twenty eleven. If I didn't, if I didn't, if I
- 37:58Speaker 1: didn't write my shit, people would know and like, but
- 38:02Speaker 1: but isn't it okay to get help with hooks? I
- 38:05Speaker 1: make good hooks? No, But I'm saying, like, let's say
- 38:07Speaker 1: you're in the studio with like I don't know whoever
- 38:11Speaker 1: the fuck and like they have an idea for a
- 38:13Speaker 1: hook and it's fire and you execute the hook. That
- 38:16Speaker 1: should be all right, right yeah, I mean, bro, people,
- 38:18Speaker 1: I just don't think you should ever get help with
- 38:19Speaker 1: your verses as an MC. To me, that's like that's
- 38:23Speaker 1: the that's the no going lets you know, I personally wouldn't,
- 38:26Speaker 1: but bro, like it depends what you're trying to accomplish,
- 38:29Speaker 1: because like people, I understand it's like a culture and shit,
- 38:33Speaker 1: but like, at the end of the day, I'm just
- 38:34Speaker 1: trying to make the best music I can. So someone's
- 38:36Speaker 1: got a fire idea in the studio. The problem is,
- 38:39Speaker 1: I don't think that much is fire, so like it
- 38:41Speaker 1: need to be something like it hasn't really happened yet.
- 38:43Speaker 1: But maybe I don't know. I for me, you know,
- 38:46Speaker 1: like is it a pride thing you think? Or is
- 38:48Speaker 1: it more like these aren't my words, this is my this,
- 38:50Speaker 1: this didn't come from me, so I can't Maybe it's pride,
- 38:53Speaker 1: but like I said, at this point, it's only fire
- 38:56Speaker 1: to me if it's true. So it's it's gonna be
- 38:59Speaker 1: hard for someone to write my truth. You know. That's
- 39:02Speaker 1: some real ship. That's some real ship. Man. Where do
- 39:05Speaker 1: you like with this project? Are you already working on
- 39:11Speaker 1: new music or is this something you're gonna work throughout
- 39:14Speaker 1: the year or I'm definitely bro. I look at this
- 39:17Speaker 1: album like it's like, uh, it's just like the the
- 39:21Speaker 1: new chapter has begun and I just want to keep dropping.
- 39:24Speaker 1: I haven't like started. I mean, I got tons of
- 39:26Speaker 1: records that I made after the album has done that.
- 39:29Speaker 1: But right now I'm like working on some some other
- 39:33Speaker 1: ship that's not my ship, and uh, that's what's happening now.
- 39:37Speaker 1: But this this year, when you say not your ship,
- 39:39Speaker 1: do you mean just like, uh, just another I can't
- 39:45Speaker 1: disclose too much, but is it music related? Yeah, fucking supergroup. No,
- 39:51Speaker 1: there's nothing to do with like my name. I'm just
- 39:53Speaker 1: it's been this trip has been a trip. Are you
- 39:56Speaker 1: helping right for Kanye or something? I don't know, but
- 40:02Speaker 1: I want to make a lot of music this year.
- 40:04Speaker 1: Was that a nice like shot in the dark that
- 40:06Speaker 1: might be accurate? No, Okay, I just got to ask
- 40:08Speaker 1: because I feel like every time someone comes to LA
- 40:10Speaker 1: they end up writing for Kanye West randomly in a
- 40:12Speaker 1: studio session. It's like, oh shit, so you're writing for ya.
- 40:18Speaker 1: That's big, that's big. Don to two bars? Don to
- 40:21Speaker 1: two bars? Huh, I'm gonna make so much music this year. Hey,
- 40:25Speaker 1: so when Kanye reached out to you, man, like, did
- 40:27Speaker 1: he DM you? Or did he like? Did he get
- 40:29Speaker 1: in touch? So much music this year is gonna be
- 40:32Speaker 1: so good knowing ye changed your life? What's it like
- 40:36Speaker 1: working with him? I do love Yea's music. Have you
- 40:39Speaker 1: met Let me just ask you this. Have you ever
- 40:41Speaker 1: met Kanye West? That's a fair question, right without revealing anything.
- 40:46Speaker 1: Have you ever met the guy? Yes? And is he
- 40:49Speaker 1: was he nice? Yeah? Did you meet him recently? Dude?
- 40:53Speaker 1: I'm so everything I'm gonna make so much music is
- 40:56Speaker 1: gonna be so good. Man. The Ya fucking Toe record
- 41:00Speaker 1: is gonna be crazy, like when you look, because this
- 41:03Speaker 1: is a So I met Kanye when I was sixteen.
- 41:06Speaker 1: My best friend's brother Raka is a part of a
- 41:10Speaker 1: group called Dilated People's Dilated People's Legendary LA rap group.
- 41:17Speaker 1: They toured on the College drop Out toard with Kanye.
- 41:20Speaker 1: They evidence produced Last Call on College Dropout and they
- 41:24Speaker 1: had a song called this Way featuring Kanye. So I
- 41:27Speaker 1: met Kanye when I was sixteen twice wow, And I
- 41:32Speaker 1: still have the photo but I haven't met him since then. So,
- 41:37Speaker 1: like I always think to myself like, like, Kanye is
- 41:40Speaker 1: my favorite artist ever. Me too, And I'm always like, man,
- 41:44Speaker 1: if I ever really got to chop it up with Kanye, like,
- 41:47Speaker 1: I don't know how I like I would say to him,
- 41:48Speaker 1: you know, like, bro, you changed my life, or like,
- 41:50Speaker 1: if I ever had that opportunity to do the interview
- 41:53Speaker 1: with Kanye West, I feel like it would be like
- 41:56Speaker 1: no one else's interview because everyone else is gonna ask
- 41:58Speaker 1: him about all this bullshit going on with sucking his
- 42:00Speaker 1: wife or you know, his new girl. I don't care
- 42:03Speaker 1: about none of that shit. I just want to talk
- 42:04Speaker 1: about some nerdy discography shit, you know what I'm saying. So,
- 42:09Speaker 1: what was your conversation like with him when you met him?
- 42:14Speaker 1: I just listened, right, but he knew who you were.
- 42:19Speaker 1: I just listened to everything he's gotta say. Then you
- 42:21Speaker 1: know who you were, though I don't know what he
- 42:25Speaker 1: knows to be honest everything obviously. Yeah that's what it seems,
- 42:28Speaker 1: nothing at all, But yeah, this album is crazy. Shout
- 42:31Speaker 1: out to token man. Hey, man, Hey, everybody who's always like,
- 42:35Speaker 1: why do I need to go to La? May come
- 42:37Speaker 1: to La because she might fuck around and right for ya.
- 42:38Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying happened with Griselda. They came,
- 42:42Speaker 1: they were in La, left my spot, went to the
- 42:45Speaker 1: fucking Sunday service, and then we're on a plane to
- 42:47Speaker 1: Wyoming within like forty eight hours. I love Griselda. Yeah,
- 42:52Speaker 1: Griselda to me, Griselda. Freddy Gibbs, Like I love Freddy
- 42:56Speaker 1: Gibbs too, A lot of it. Yeah, man, I just
- 42:58Speaker 1: love shout out to r J. Shout out to There's
- 43:01Speaker 1: just so much dope, ill real rap shit. That's finally, Like,
- 43:04Speaker 1: I feel like the pandemic kind of brought the world
- 43:07Speaker 1: back to listening in their earphones or listening at home
- 43:10Speaker 1: as opposed to being at the club. Yeah. So I
- 43:12Speaker 1: feel like, yeah, I think they, you know, twenty twenty,
- 43:14Speaker 1: like they really like has a hard reset man. Yeah,
- 43:17Speaker 1: and like people who might not have gotten the attention before,
- 43:21Speaker 1: like I think they had. Like if you think of
- 43:23Speaker 1: those those nominees for Best Rap Album, Yeah, Royce Jay, Electronica, Freddy,
- 43:30Speaker 1: who else got nominated that year? Last year? Nas, I'm
- 43:34Speaker 1: missing someone else who's dope oh d smoke. Yeah, So yeah,
- 43:38Speaker 1: shout out to have you ever met Freddy? We're gonna
- 43:40Speaker 1: make it happen that'd be a random ass interaction you
- 43:42Speaker 1: and Freddie. I would love that. I'm like a big fan,
- 43:45Speaker 1: Like I'm a big fan of him. Yeah. So the
- 43:49Speaker 1: album is out, More videos on the way, Yeah, more
- 43:52Speaker 1: videos come in. Yeah, and just and just like and
- 43:55Speaker 1: just next, you know, the next chapter. Like I really
- 43:58Speaker 1: look at this project, like I know it's like my
- 43:59Speaker 1: main your label debut, But the way I'm looking at this,
- 44:02Speaker 1: it's like, bro, just put in a universe that's the
- 44:05Speaker 1: new like place that people are gonna have their reference
- 44:08Speaker 1: of me. And now I just want to move on.
- 44:09Speaker 1: I just want to keep dropping, Like I hope I
- 44:11Speaker 1: don't watch this ship in the year and I'm like, damn,
- 44:14Speaker 1: I didn't drop shit. I think I think I'm gonna Yeah,
- 44:17Speaker 1: what you say? You're super obsessive. So besides your music
- 44:20Speaker 1: right now, what are you obsessed in those bars? Like
- 44:22Speaker 1: do you play video games? Are you fucking binge? Watching
- 44:24Speaker 1: any TV? Like? What do you what are you doing
- 44:26Speaker 1: when you're not pushing this album? Uhuh? Sparkling Water, the
- 44:32Speaker 1: Cucumber one, and the blueberry one. Yeah, we're gonna buy those.
- 44:38Speaker 1: Do you own any percentage of this? By the way, No, fuck,
- 44:41Speaker 1: but I'd love to bro That's how I feel about.
- 44:44Speaker 1: There's this energy drink it's Ghost Energy and I and
- 44:48Speaker 1: the Coconut ones. I like, I don't know how many
- 44:51Speaker 1: episodes I have a Ghost Energy can sitting here and
- 44:54Speaker 1: they're not paying me a fucking dime, but I'm like
- 44:55Speaker 1: obsessed with these energy drinks. You gotta take the wrapper
- 44:58Speaker 1: off like me, It's like a yeah, I'm like, fuck,
- 45:01Speaker 1: I've been telling this for like broke. We gotta fucking
- 45:03Speaker 1: talk to these people. Yeah, I like DM their page
- 45:06Speaker 1: and ship and like, yeah, I used to have like
- 45:09Speaker 1: a thing. I used to like quest bars, quest bars.
- 45:12Speaker 1: I mean I'm be on the I just got on
- 45:13Speaker 1: the Keto ship, So those are acceptable. Yeah, be careful
- 45:16Speaker 1: though they'll they'll clog you up a little bit, as
- 45:19Speaker 1: in like you'll be constipated. They made me constipated a
- 45:22Speaker 1: little bit, but I again upset, so I have like
- 45:23Speaker 1: I think I think they're terrible, but yeah, most people
- 45:26Speaker 1: don't like it's like like take like like like a
- 45:30Speaker 1: flavored piece of rubber, but you never know, like reach
- 45:33Speaker 1: out because I was I was like obsessed request and
- 45:37Speaker 1: like I posted a picture with them and they DM
- 45:39Speaker 1: me and they like send me a bunch of shit
- 45:41Speaker 1: and I was supposed to be in the commercial that
- 45:42Speaker 1: ever happened, But you never know. What's the last TV
- 45:46Speaker 1: show you binge watched? I don't really binge shows. I
- 45:50Speaker 1: like movies more. What's your Who's your? Who's Like? Like,
- 45:53Speaker 1: give me your top five movies of all time? Mother Ship?
- 46:01Speaker 1: I mean good Fellas, maybe like Scarfee, I mean those
- 46:05Speaker 1: are the obvious ones. But I really like Place Beyond
- 46:10Speaker 1: the Pines. Damn. I really like some like somewhat new,
- 46:16Speaker 1: like I really like I like Ship like Nightcrawler and
- 46:19Speaker 1: Prisoners Ship like that. They're not my favorite. But I
- 46:22Speaker 1: don't know what the fuck. I just know that two
- 46:24Speaker 1: of the two other five you've mentioned I've heard of Damn. Yeah, man,
- 46:28Speaker 1: I just watched the movie. Oh like Eyes Wise Shut,
- 46:30Speaker 1: I like shit like that. Yeah. Have you seen Mother?
- 46:36Speaker 1: I've heard of it. I haven't seen Mother. Bro go
- 46:38Speaker 1: see Mother and like put your phone away and try
- 46:42Speaker 1: to watch it on like a big screen I saw
- 46:43Speaker 1: in theaters. But like, don't get distracted, and really it's
- 46:46Speaker 1: about it's just it's just a trip. It's just like
- 46:49Speaker 1: you just got It's like a roller coaster. You just
- 46:51Speaker 1: gotta going for a ride and and like it changed
- 46:56Speaker 1: the way I wrote all my music videos. Like that
- 46:58Speaker 1: movie like inspired all my treatments. You've ever seen The
- 47:02Speaker 1: Big Lebowski. That's my favorite movie right there? No, it's
- 47:05Speaker 1: that you've never seen The Big Lebowski. No, I haven't
- 47:09Speaker 1: seen a lot of like classic movies. It's ninety seven,
- 47:12Speaker 1: it's a it's a Cohen's Brothers movie. It's it's it's
- 47:16Speaker 1: the greatest comedy ever. Oh it looks it looks fun.
- 47:19Speaker 1: It's about a loser in La named the Dude. I
- 47:24Speaker 1: always used to be like super I didn't fuck with
- 47:26Speaker 1: superhero movies. But you know, I hit my friend. I
- 47:30Speaker 1: was like, what's a charming movie? Like I was just
- 47:33Speaker 1: I just want to be charmed? And he said, like
- 47:35Speaker 1: the First Spider Man, like the New Spider Man, but
- 47:38Speaker 1: the first one, And I actually kind of liked it.
- 47:40Speaker 1: It was very like warming that shit's fire, the New
- 47:43Speaker 1: Spider Man. Shits got I never, I never. I just
- 47:46Speaker 1: always hate it, Like I like hanging food man, It's
- 47:48Speaker 1: like it's it's okay sometimes, like you could go into
- 47:51Speaker 1: a movie and know it's like you know what it is,
- 47:55Speaker 1: so you just gotta you gotta like, enjoy it for
- 47:58Speaker 1: what it is. It's like when you're in the if
- 48:01Speaker 1: someone plays some ship that you're not going to listen
- 48:03Speaker 1: to in your car, but you're like, I'm in the club.
- 48:05Speaker 1: Let me fucking enjoy this shitty playboy CARDI record. You
- 48:09Speaker 1: know what, I'm just fucking with you. That kid, though,
- 48:12Speaker 1: is very charming. No, yeah, Tom Holland ends and Day
- 48:16Speaker 1: is an incredible actress. Shout out to her Ephooria. Have
- 48:18Speaker 1: you watched it for you? Yeah? That sh it's like
- 48:20Speaker 1: fucking kids, man. I watched it with my girls. She
- 48:23Speaker 1: like loves it and she h yeah, she got me
- 48:27Speaker 1: into it. I like that so a lot too. She keeps,
- 48:30Speaker 1: I've been here, but we gotta watched like the new one.
- 48:33Speaker 1: We know the new one's crazy. It comes out. Have
- 48:35Speaker 1: you watched the new episode one of the new seasons.
- 48:37Speaker 1: I haven't seen anything new. I've just seen the one
- 48:39Speaker 1: the new season. The new season, they don't play that
- 48:42Speaker 1: ship comes out? What the fuck damn it? It's fucking
- 48:46Speaker 1: that's a dark ass show man. My girl loves it.
- 48:48Speaker 1: I like it too, but she loves it. It's a
