Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Greg both show with Christopher Kidd and then Ian Ferness
- 0:04Speaker 1: Jess when McIntyre and Hishurst will be coming on from
- 0:06Speaker 1: twelve until three. That's our new midday line up here
- 0:08Speaker 1: in ninety three point three kJ RFN. I'm and very gratified, pleased, happy,
- 0:14Speaker 1: thrilled to be back and back with my man Chris kids.
- 0:16Speaker 1: So this is it, man, We're back like its old times.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Man, It's crazy how we say that when you would
- 0:21Speaker 2: be filling in just maybe you had some time. You're like, yeah,
- 0:24Speaker 2: I could jump in and do ten to one and
- 0:27Speaker 2: full circle. You're back at it again a year later.
- 0:29Speaker 2: So it's cool to be back in doing this with
- 0:31Speaker 2: you again.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Greg. It'll be fun. You're old, I'm old? Can you both?
- 0:36Speaker 1: Can we can say that old?
- 0:38Speaker 3: I thought you're gonna agree with me. I'm old. Oh,
- 0:41Speaker 3: it's just like we left.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Man, the Mariners are under five hundred and you want
- 0:45Speaker 2: to get to that already. I thought we were gonna
- 0:47Speaker 2: save that for like the second or third segment. I mean,
- 0:49Speaker 2: my goodness, you know what I'm gonna say, Groundhog Day.
- 0:54Speaker 2: I'm sure fans are thrilled right now. Look at this, Hey,
- 0:57Speaker 2: we're struggling yet again. Offensively, pitching staff is great. Defensively
- 1:01Speaker 2: they also stink. What more could you want with this team?
- 1:03Speaker 2: But more they're game and a half out. Everything's fine, April.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Yeah, that is true.
- 1:08Speaker 1: And then I remember you and I Chris, the first
- 1:10Speaker 1: months of hosting this show. Remember they got swept by
- 1:12Speaker 1: the Cubs. Yes, I'll never forget that. If we came
- 1:16Speaker 1: in and we're like, that's it, they're done. It was
- 1:18Speaker 1: like the first of May or something. Remember that.
- 1:20Speaker 3: Yeah, it was rough, it was bad. I'm sure I
- 1:23Speaker 3: have the audio.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Maybe one day we can tease ourselves and look back
- 1:26Speaker 2: at and say, man, did we jump the gun?
- 1:28Speaker 3: What do they end up doing? So?
- 1:30Speaker 2: Yeah, just I don't want to say pump the brakes,
- 1:32Speaker 2: but I guess I'll just move on and just say
- 1:34Speaker 2: we just they just need some consistency somewhere. Defensively would help. Offensively,
- 1:39Speaker 2: it's getting warm out. It's gonna be seventy degrees today. Yeah,
- 1:41Speaker 2: two days in a row. Yeah, that could be the
- 1:44Speaker 2: start of something. Marine Layer not so much.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Nobody's talking about that anymore. Rodriguez warming up. He's above
- 1:49Speaker 1: two hundred now, he's got a streak going of reaching
- 1:52Speaker 1: base and I think it's fifteen consecutive games, one of
- 1:54Speaker 1: the longest of his career. Now anyway, the Mariners are home,
- 1:58Speaker 1: as I mentioned, three games against the A's. And the
- 2:02Speaker 1: reason why all this is okay is, as I've said,
- 2:04Speaker 1: nobody in the America League West is above five hundred.
- 2:07Speaker 1: The A's and the Rangers are eleven and eleven. That's
- 2:10Speaker 1: first place, is good enough for first places. In fact,
- 2:12Speaker 1: the best record in the American League right now, Chris
- 2:14Speaker 1: is the New York Yankees, of course, but they're only
- 2:16Speaker 1: thirteen and nine. The Blue Jays, the American League champions,
- 2:20Speaker 1: who went to the World Series and let the game
- 2:22Speaker 1: seven against the Dodgers, they're nine third. They're worse than
- 2:25Speaker 1: the Mariners right now. They have big problems with their closer.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Their bullpen has been in shambles. I mean, the Mariners
- 2:32Speaker 1: have been bad, but the Toronto bullpen they just given
- 2:35Speaker 1: up leaves and left and right. So it could be worse,
- 2:39Speaker 1: I should say. I mean, I get all the gangst
- 2:41Speaker 1: and but if you've been around Seattle for one than
- 2:43Speaker 1: a couple of days, this is just how it goes.
- 2:45Speaker 3: The team.
- 2:46Speaker 1: The baseball team just struggles this year. What's good is nobody.
- 2:50Speaker 1: There's no trash cans, there's nobody running out in the
- 2:52Speaker 1: American League West way out of head, and so I've
- 2:55Speaker 1: been cool. I mean, they're good, chugging along, should be
- 2:59Speaker 1: better than ten. But they're on league game and a
- 3:01Speaker 1: half back and they get the pitching.
- 3:03Speaker 2: I think you bring the the glass half full. Look
- 3:06Speaker 2: because to your point, yeah, you look at the league.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Their manners are not in trouble. They just got to
- 3:12Speaker 2: dig out of this little hole and they'll probably be
- 3:14Speaker 2: in first place.
- 3:15Speaker 3: Right So I am right there with you.
- 3:17Speaker 2: I think it's only a matter of time before consistency
- 3:21Speaker 2: rolls in.
- 3:21Speaker 3: Right now, they're just in a rut, and I believe
- 3:24Speaker 3: this is.
- 3:24Speaker 2: A good opportunity today against the Athletics to get out
- 3:26Speaker 2: of that rut. Ye, get on base, eliminate the errors pitching,
- 3:30Speaker 2: continue doing your thing.
- 3:31Speaker 1: You're right about catching the ball. I mean, just be
- 3:33Speaker 1: major league quality to do your job right. Yeah, that
- 3:36Speaker 1: defense is really.
- 3:37Speaker 2: As a form as a coach yourself, you would know
- 3:40Speaker 2: the game. Do they have to call you up?
- 3:42Speaker 3: Greg?
- 3:42Speaker 2: I know you get your hands full with the Seahawks
- 3:44Speaker 2: and now this, but maybe they can say, hey, Greg,
- 3:46Speaker 2: do you have any time to make sure our players
- 3:48Speaker 2: are locked in and catching balls.
- 3:49Speaker 1: They don't need me. It ain't Perry Hill is not
- 3:51Speaker 1: telling them already in the infield. I mean, they just
- 3:55Speaker 1: have to catch and throw the ball. They just do
- 3:57Speaker 1: your job. Guys, do your jobs. Come on major League ready.
- 4:00Speaker 1: But of course, of the NFL Draft. I am still
- 4:02Speaker 1: at the News Tribune. I am still the Seahawks beat writer,
- 4:04Speaker 1: as I've been since twenty fourteen. I began covering that
- 4:07Speaker 1: team in two thousand and five for the Associated Press
- 4:10Speaker 1: when I moved up here from the Bay Area. And
- 4:13Speaker 1: it's interesting to have that perspective now over multiple decades
- 4:17Speaker 1: of Seahawks drafts.
- 4:19Speaker 3: This one is unique in many ways.
- 4:20Speaker 1: One, of course, it's only the second time ever the
- 4:22Speaker 1: Seahawks are the Super Bowl champions, coming just a couple
- 4:25Speaker 1: months off the Super.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Bowl to draft.
- 4:27Speaker 1: And two, they held the fewest picks in the NFL
- 4:31Speaker 1: this year, with four, it would be the second fewest
- 4:34Speaker 1: in franchise history, behind only the twenty twenty one COVID Draft,
- 4:38Speaker 1: which they punted. They just said, well, it's a COVID draft.
- 4:40Speaker 1: We didn't have much chance to some of our prospects
- 4:43Speaker 1: to even play or they played spring seasons or previous seas,
- 4:45Speaker 1: so let's just not even do this draft. That's the
- 4:48Speaker 1: only other time they've had sophew picks. I put up
- 4:51Speaker 1: my mock draft this morning at the Newstribune dot com.
- 4:53Speaker 1: I don't think they're going to end up with four
- 4:55Speaker 1: picks because I think they're going to go to five.
- 4:57Speaker 1: I think they're going to trade back and just get
- 4:59Speaker 1: one expert. I don't. Talking to John Schneider a couple
- 5:02Speaker 1: times this offseason, including at the Combine in Indianapolis, he
- 5:06Speaker 1: made it clear that he thinks this is a weaker
- 5:08Speaker 1: draft in depth and quality in some of the places
- 5:13Speaker 1: that they need to get better at. They just don't
- 5:14Speaker 1: have the depth of prospects, especially compared to next year.
- 5:18Speaker 1: The Seahawks have twelve picks for next year. That's not
- 5:21Speaker 1: an accident. They only have four picks for this year.
- 5:23Speaker 1: That's not an accident. It's not like John Schneider just
- 5:26Speaker 1: woke up after the Super Bowl and said, oh my gosh,
- 5:29Speaker 1: we only have four picks. How did this happen? He
- 5:31Speaker 1: meant for this to happen. He traded two third day
- 5:36Speaker 1: picks to get Rashid Shahid in November that depleted their
- 5:39Speaker 1: stock from six down to four. They haven't made any
- 5:42Speaker 1: deals yet to go get more picks again because he
- 5:45Speaker 1: sees this as a weaker draft now. Sneider himself will
- 5:48Speaker 1: tell you the pick the draft pick trades don't even
- 5:53Speaker 1: really get real until the draft actually starts. When guys,
- 5:56Speaker 1: teams are on the clock and teams want to move
- 5:59Speaker 1: up and they get a little desper that's when the
- 6:00Speaker 1: dealing goes. John Schneider has made seventy four trades involving
- 6:06Speaker 1: draft picks over sixteen draftskers. Seventy four thirty three of
- 6:10Speaker 1: those have been to move down, only ten of them
- 6:13Speaker 1: have been to move up, and another thirty or so
- 6:15Speaker 1: have been involving players, trading four or trading away players.
- 6:20Speaker 1: But thirty three trade downs and only ten to move up.
- 6:24Speaker 1: And at thirty two in the first round, it's obvious
- 6:26Speaker 1: he's not going to move up. He's gonna wait for
- 6:29Speaker 1: a team like perhaps Arizona, maybe Cleveland, somebody who might
- 6:33Speaker 1: want a quarterback. I'm thinking of Arizona the top of
- 6:35Speaker 1: my head, although Arizona only picks a few spots behind
- 6:38Speaker 1: thirty two back in the top of round two. Let's say,
- 6:41Speaker 1: for instance, Ty Simpson, the quarterback from Alabama who's not
- 6:44Speaker 1: considered to be a top first round pick, but who
- 6:47Speaker 1: might still be and likely still will be available at
- 6:50Speaker 1: the end of the first round. Would a team like
- 6:52Speaker 1: Arizona or perpetually needy Cleveland jump up from high in
- 6:57Speaker 1: the second round and say, Seattle, we want your first
- 7:00Speaker 1: round pick. The reason why John Schneider has traded a
- 7:04Speaker 1: first round pick fourteen times over sixteen drafts of Seattle's GM.
- 7:09Speaker 3: He never has.
- 7:10Speaker 1: We've talked about this Griz. He never has first round
- 7:13Speaker 1: talent at where he's picking on his board. He might
- 7:16Speaker 1: have twenty four. Usually it's around twenty four two dozen
- 7:19Speaker 1: or so guys on his Seahawks board that he has
- 7:23Speaker 1: first round grades for. So when the Seahawks pick at
- 7:26Speaker 1: twenty five, twenty eight, thirty in this case thirty two
- 7:29Speaker 1: to the bottom of the round, they're thinking is why
- 7:31Speaker 1: would we pay first round value which is slotted by
- 7:34Speaker 1: the CBA salary and the right to a fifty year
- 7:38Speaker 1: contract option, which is guaranteed at the top average of
- 7:41Speaker 1: the top salaries in the league. Five ers done the right.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Why would we do that for a player we think
- 7:44Speaker 1: is second or third round quality and that in a nutshell,
- 7:47Speaker 1: is why the Seahawks have habitually traded back, because they've
- 7:50Speaker 1: always traded the often traded because of their success in
- 7:53Speaker 1: the previous year, traded at the end of the first round. Well,
- 7:56Speaker 1: now they're even they're the most successful team in the
- 7:58Speaker 1: league coming off the Super so they're picking thirty second.
- 8:01Speaker 1: There's no way John Schnider has thirty two first round
- 8:04Speaker 1: players on his board in this draft, especially in a
- 8:06Speaker 1: weaker draft. Hence the trade down.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Now.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Just because he wants to do it doesn't mean it's
- 8:11Speaker 1: going to happen. He has tried to trade down in
- 8:13Speaker 1: the last few years when he's been in the twenties,
- 8:16Speaker 1: and it just hasn't worked out a couple times at
- 8:17Speaker 1: green Bay. One time he had a deal with Miami,
- 8:20Speaker 1: excuse me, with green Bay, and Miami came up and
- 8:22Speaker 1: jumped him and took the guy that the Green Bay
- 8:25Speaker 1: Packers were going to trade with Seattle to take in
- 8:27Speaker 1: the first round. So things have to fall into place.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Just because John Schneider wants to trade down doesn't mean
- 8:32Speaker 1: he will. But anyway, at the News Tribune dot Com,
- 8:35Speaker 1: you'll see that I had the Seahawks moving from thirty
- 8:37Speaker 1: two to thirty nine in trading with the Cleveland Browns
- 8:41Speaker 1: and trading back seven spots, assuming the Browns might want
- 8:44Speaker 1: to get a quarterback or somebody else that they didn't
- 8:45Speaker 1: get earlier in there are two picks in the first round.
- 8:48Speaker 1: The Browns are an attractive option for Seattle because they
- 8:51Speaker 1: have two fourth round draft picks. The Seahawks have zero
- 8:54Speaker 1: fourth round picks. As it stands right now, John Schneider
- 8:59Speaker 1: has just one pick after round three. They have three
- 9:02Speaker 1: picks in one of the bottom of each of the
- 9:04Speaker 1: bottom first three rounds.
- 9:05Speaker 3: And then not again until the sixth round.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Trade of Nick Harris, a center during training camp last
- 9:10Speaker 1: year back to the Browns netted the Seahawks a sixth
- 9:13Speaker 1: round pick. That sixth round pickers is the only pick
- 9:16Speaker 1: Seattle has on day three. Do we really think John
- 9:18Speaker 1: Schneider is gonna sit around from eight am Saturday till
- 9:22Speaker 1: about three thirty or four o'clock doing nothing or next
- 9:24Speaker 1: to nothing.
- 9:25Speaker 3: Absolutely not.
- 9:26Speaker 1: No, no. So if he trades back, for instance, with
- 9:29Speaker 1: Cleveland at thirty nine, he can get Cleveland's thirty ninth
- 9:32Speaker 1: pick second round and get Cleveland's fourth round pick. There's
- 9:36Speaker 1: all kinds of permitations of the Jimmy Johnson Bill Parcells
- 9:40Speaker 1: Trade Value Draft pick trade value charts that they've iterations of.
- 9:44Speaker 1: John Schneider himself has said that he has modified it,
- 9:47Speaker 1: modified it over years. But roughly a top of the
- 9:51Speaker 1: about sixth seventh pick of the fourth round plus a
- 9:53Speaker 1: second round pick at thirty nine, that's the value you
- 9:56Speaker 1: could get for moving seven spots down from thirty two.
- 9:58Speaker 1: If you're Seattle so projecting, that's what's going to happen.
- 10:01Speaker 1: And if they only move down seven spots, they still
- 10:05Speaker 1: have the ability to probably get the guy they want
- 10:08Speaker 1: that they didn't have as a first round pick. Anyway,
- 10:10Speaker 1: you're not moving so far down that you're at the
- 10:11Speaker 1: botto around two.
- 10:14Speaker 3: I have him taken.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Malchai Lawrence. Perhaps those of you out there might be
- 10:18Speaker 1: rooting for him. I've heard of him. He's an EDG
- 10:20Speaker 1: dresser outside linebacker from the University of Central Florida. What
- 10:24Speaker 1: is attractive to me for the Seahawks perspective of Lawrence,
- 10:27Speaker 1: not only is his pass rushing and he's two hundred
- 10:30Speaker 1: and fifty plus pounds and he's six forty.
- 10:33Speaker 3: He's a prototype size.
- 10:34Speaker 1: He has really long arm thirty three inch plus arms
- 10:38Speaker 1: knocking down passes. He often at Central Florida also dropped
- 10:42Speaker 1: into coverage, So there's a multiplicity versatility factor that we
- 10:46Speaker 1: know Mike McDonald loves in his defenders, especially edge defenders, but.
- 10:51Speaker 3: He's not Malchai.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Lawrence is not just a one trick pass rush guy
- 10:55Speaker 1: who just runs straight up the field after quarterbacks. He
- 10:57Speaker 1: has dropped in the coverage, he's played run support. He
- 11:00Speaker 1: has proven to be an all round offensive outside linebacker.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Remember the Seahawks lost boy Mafic because the Bengals just
- 11:07Speaker 1: paid absolutely ridiculous some of twenty million dollars a year
- 11:10Speaker 1: for him, and all of a sudden, Derek Hall is
- 11:12Speaker 1: in the final year of his contract as the edge
- 11:14Speaker 1: outside rusher, the Pro Bowl edge defensive end rusher. De
- 11:19Speaker 1: Marcus Lawrence is turning thirty four this month at the
- 11:22Speaker 1: end of April. He has, in m McDonald's words, said
- 11:26Speaker 1: that he is going to come back for his thirteenth
- 11:27Speaker 1: NFL season this fall, but he ain't gonna play forever.
- 11:30Speaker 1: He's got one more year after this deal left, but
- 11:34Speaker 1: with Hall entering the final year of his contracting decision
- 11:37Speaker 1: to be made. Lawrence turning thirty four in his future
- 11:41Speaker 1: beyond this year in some doubt, and maybe even some
- 11:45Speaker 1: for this year, and boy, Mafi gone. You can see
- 11:48Speaker 1: edge rusher is something they could use. Not to mention,
- 11:52Speaker 1: Mike McDonald can never have enough edge pass rusher. So
- 11:55Speaker 1: that's where I think they're going to go at the
- 11:56Speaker 1: top of the draft, move down seven spots, still get
- 11:58Speaker 1: Malachai Lawrence. I can hear some of you already out
- 12:00Speaker 1: there saying, Oh, he's not going to be around, and
- 12:02Speaker 1: that's possible. If he's not around, I've got a couple
- 12:05Speaker 1: ideas cornerback Brandon Cec from South Carolina, if there is.
- 12:12Speaker 1: I mean, this guy sounds like the most Mike McDonald
- 12:14Speaker 1: guy in the draft. Chris his position coach at South Carolina,
- 12:17Speaker 1: Brandon CEC's position coach, said that CC is able to
- 12:22Speaker 1: recite the responsibilities of all eleven players on a defense
- 12:25Speaker 1: for any play in the playbook, and that is exactly
- 12:28Speaker 1: what Mike McDonald asked all his Seahawks'.
- 12:30Speaker 3: Nerd in him.
- 12:31Speaker 2: That's great because I think it was a Devin Witherspoon
- 12:34Speaker 2: that kind of teased about, yeah, Mike's a nerd man,
- 12:36Speaker 2: but I love it. So this is that's really cool
- 12:38Speaker 2: to see because to your point, that fits in with
- 12:40Speaker 2: what this defense is about. You have a corner that
- 12:42Speaker 2: can put a by in position, not that you need
- 12:44Speaker 2: him to, but just his mental capacity to do that.
- 12:46Speaker 3: That's impressive. And that sounds like.
- 12:48Speaker 1: A Mike McDonald's guy. I've never heard a note of
- 12:50Speaker 1: one before. Sure does anecdotally. Not to mention, Nicki min
- 12:54Speaker 1: Warrior also went to South Carolina. They know each other
- 12:56Speaker 1: from the Columbia, South Carolina area. Back in high school.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Nicky Moworry invited Brandon CC out to the NFC Championship
- 13:04Speaker 1: game here in Seattle, and CC was at Lumenfield for
- 13:07Speaker 1: the NFC title game against the Rams.
- 13:09Speaker 3: So that's anecdotally.
- 13:12Speaker 1: That's not like, oh, that means he's gonna be drafted
- 13:14Speaker 1: the Seahawks, But Nicky Mocworury knows who he is, and
- 13:17Speaker 1: you know, Mike McDonald's.
- 13:18Speaker 3: Pretty in love with Nicki man Worrey.
- 13:21Speaker 1: I have in my mock draft at rows Tribune dot
- 13:23Speaker 1: com that they will take Brandon CEC at sixty for
- 13:25Speaker 1: their original second round pick. I don't know if CC
- 13:27Speaker 1: would last that long. It's spelled cis se but it's
- 13:32Speaker 1: pronounced CC. But that is my projection. Malachai Lawrence trading
- 13:37Speaker 1: down thirty nine with the Browns to get him in
- 13:39Speaker 1: early in round two. And then Brandon CC is about
- 13:41Speaker 1: our round two. We'll talk much more about that. Four nine,
- 13:44Speaker 1: four to five one. In Tacoma Dodge text line, it's
- 13:46Speaker 1: back has a sponsor. Now I'm glad to see that.
- 13:50Speaker 1: It was Sandwich Board anonymous for a long time. But
- 13:53Speaker 1: now that in begot's got the Tacoma Dodge text line
- 13:55Speaker 1: four nine, four to five to one. What do you
- 13:57Speaker 1: want to see at the top of the Seahawks draft
- 13:59Speaker 1: position player? Why we'll read back your text at eleven
- 14:03Speaker 1: thirty as Chris and I always used to do before.
- 14:06Speaker 1: It's great to be back so we can talk about
- 14:07Speaker 1: oh yeah, yeah, that's cool.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Porn music. We have Booge Knights on the radio.
- 14:14Speaker 1: Yeah, we still haven't put that. Well. Now we have
- 14:16Speaker 1: a YouTube, we could actually do something video wise.
- 14:18Speaker 3: It could get creative. Don't want to get flagged, but yeah,
- 14:20Speaker 3: there's a possibility to all of you in the YouTube channel.
- 14:23Speaker 3: That's new to me as well.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Next we'll talk more NFL draft. We'll talk about the
- 14:28Speaker 1: running back position. We'll talk about edge, we'll talk about cornerback,
- 14:32Speaker 1: and we'll talk about how John Schneider doesn't always draft
- 14:34Speaker 1: for need, and in fact has said he's gotten in
- 14:36Speaker 1: trouble when he's drafted for need. You're gonna hear from
- 14:39Speaker 1: Rob Refsneider later about mental health and the Seahawk fans
- 14:43Speaker 1: and his own personal support group while he was going
- 14:45Speaker 1: oh for nineteen again. We'll read back your text at
- 14:47Speaker 1: eleven thirty In Fornest, the Mayor and Maple Battle will
- 14:49Speaker 1: join us at eleven forty five. Headed into his show
- 14:52Speaker 1: from twelve until three the new middays on ninety three

- 15:15Speaker 3: What position? What player? Why?
- 15:18Speaker 1: Will be part of the show at eleven thirty where
- 15:19Speaker 1: we back your text. We were talking to the last
- 15:21Speaker 1: segment about the draft. I told you that the Neewstribune
- 15:25Speaker 1: dot Com. I've got my mock draft for twenty twenty
- 15:28Speaker 1: six for the Seahawks. It's somewhat abbreviated because they only
- 15:30Speaker 1: have four picks in this year's draft. I have the
- 15:32Speaker 1: Seahawks trading back out of thirty two. Why because they
- 15:35Speaker 1: don't have thirty two first round players on their board
- 15:38Speaker 1: first round grades. They trade back with Cleveland. Now there
- 15:42Speaker 1: are a bunch of teams that could possibly trade back
- 15:44Speaker 1: with Arizona. To me is intriguing because they need a
- 15:48Speaker 1: quarterback post Kyler Murray. They did sign Garner Minshew, you're
- 15:52Speaker 1: man from Wshoe think is starting? Chris?
- 15:57Speaker 3: You know I'm gonna say, yes, What the hell you
- 15:59Speaker 3: know wrong?
- 16:01Speaker 1: Right? I would think right now he's odd's on favorite
- 16:03Speaker 1: to start. But Arizona's only a couple picks behind Seattle
- 16:06Speaker 1: at the top of round two, so there's not a
- 16:07Speaker 1: lot of bang for Seattle to move back, or even
- 16:12Speaker 1: much less for value for Arizona to move up just
- 16:14Speaker 1: a couple spots.
- 16:15Speaker 3: But if they thought.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Perhaps Tysimps in the quarterback from Alabama who many think
- 16:19Speaker 1: won't be a top first round top of the first
- 16:22Speaker 1: round pick, if he was still available at the bottom
- 16:24Speaker 1: of round one, that's when teams get back into the
- 16:26Speaker 1: first round quarterback needy teams quarterbacks get elevated higher than
- 16:30Speaker 1: maybe their draft grades are. Those are the kind of
- 16:33Speaker 1: teams that the Seahawks will be looking at about Thursday.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Let's see six thirty seven, seven thirty. It's seven minutes,
- 16:40Speaker 1: I believe this year instead of ten the league has
- 16:43Speaker 1: said for each first round pick, so the first round
- 16:45Speaker 1: should go a little more quickly than the normal three
- 16:48Speaker 1: and a half plus hours the Seahawks. The draft starts
- 16:51Speaker 1: at five Seattle time on Thursday. The Seahawks would normally
- 16:55Speaker 1: be scheduling to pick around eight o'clock. I think we're
- 16:58Speaker 1: gonna end up Chris at the end of Thursday, with
- 17:00Speaker 1: Seahawks not picking anybody and then holding one of the
- 17:03Speaker 1: top seven picks in the second round. Now, this has
- 17:07Speaker 1: happened before. We've talked about this. This has happened. In fact,
- 17:11Speaker 1: he's traded. John Schneider has traded made a trade involving
- 17:14Speaker 1: his first round pick fourteen times over sixteen drafts, and
- 17:19Speaker 1: ten of those trades have been down out of the
- 17:21Speaker 1: first round to get more picks. The three other times
- 17:25Speaker 1: four other times have been involved with players. The Percy
- 17:28Speaker 1: Harvin trade of first round pick to get Percy Harvin
- 17:31Speaker 1: to Seattle in twenty thirteen, the Jimmy Graham trade with
- 17:34Speaker 1: the Saints Max Hunger. You know, to this day, John
- 17:38Speaker 1: Schneider still says that that was a mistake, and he
- 17:41Speaker 1: told Albert Breer on a podcast of the Monday Morning
- 17:44Speaker 1: Quarterback this month. He has since told Max Hunger, the
- 17:47Speaker 1: Pro Bowl Center, the former Oregon Duck, that that was
- 17:49Speaker 1: a mistake and.
- 17:50Speaker 3: If everybody knew was a mistake when they got it,
- 17:53Speaker 3: like you just gave up? What for Jimmy Graham? Like
- 17:55Speaker 3: what are we doing? That did not work? But the
- 17:57Speaker 3: Seahaw's doing. But yeah, that it did not work.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Plus it's a first round pick and a Pro Bowl center.
- 18:02Speaker 2: You didn't even use them, No, they didn't use Ajmmy.
- 18:05Speaker 2: We needed to crack back on that linebacker.
- 18:07Speaker 1: That was not his forte was it not at all?
- 18:11Speaker 1: Draft or blocking was not his fortepe But the Max
- 18:14Speaker 1: Hunger track, I've written this for the News Tribute. The
- 18:16Speaker 1: Max Hunger trade set them back for almost a decade
- 18:18Speaker 1: on the offensive line. They went through ten centers in
- 18:22Speaker 1: nine years, ten centers in nine years. Post Max Hunger.
- 18:27Speaker 1: You remember I was talking about this.
- 18:29Speaker 2: Yeah, we talked a lot about that old line boy.
- 18:31Speaker 2: We were using metrics, pulling up articles. I'm looking in
- 18:35Speaker 2: twenty twenty three, looking at the PFF rankings, the Seahawks
- 18:39Speaker 2: are ranked like thirtieth, and I'm like, yeah, they didn't improve,
- 18:42Speaker 2: they didn't they didn't add anybody. You're just asking players
- 18:45Speaker 2: to get better, which that's the name of the game.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Be better at your job. And you know what happened
- 18:50Speaker 2: last year? They were I would say, right above average
- 18:53Speaker 2: and it worked out. Anthony Braffer was a guy that
- 18:55Speaker 2: got picked on a lot. And you know what, when
- 18:57Speaker 2: you went back and watched the tape, sometimes you like, buddy,
- 19:00Speaker 2: what happened here? But a lot of the times he
- 19:01Speaker 2: was doing his job, moving guys out the way. But
- 19:04Speaker 2: a couple of times I'm like, Anthony, what are you doing?
- 19:07Speaker 3: What are you doing? My friend? Come on, man, come
- 19:09Speaker 3: on man.
- 19:09Speaker 1: But all right, let's talk about Anthony Bradford because I
- 19:13Speaker 1: have him. I have in the Seahawks the sixth round,
- 19:16Speaker 1: the last pick of their five draft yes, and their
- 19:18Speaker 1: mock dravit. You can go there to the News Tribune
- 19:20Speaker 1: dot com right now. Subscribe to the News Tribune while
- 19:22Speaker 1: you're out of it. But the sixth and final round, the
- 19:27Speaker 1: Seahawks have currently drafted the fifth and final pick they
- 19:30Speaker 1: have I haven't taken. I have him taken. A right guard,
- 19:33Speaker 1: a guy who's made forty six career starts in college
- 19:38Speaker 1: at right guard, and not for some small town team either,
- 19:41Speaker 1: for the University of Miami at the top level. Just
- 19:44Speaker 1: went to the National Championship game. And an As Cooper
- 19:49Speaker 1: is a four year starter at Miami at right guard specifically,
- 19:53Speaker 1: not a tackle converted the guard, a right guard, and
- 19:57Speaker 1: I have them it's somewhat of.
- 19:59Speaker 3: A project sixth round. He's six to six.
- 20:02Speaker 1: He's actually six' five and three eighths or seven eighths excuse.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Me he's the eighth of an inch from six to
- 20:07Speaker 1: six to, four three hundred and thirty four pounds like
- 20:09Speaker 1: prototypical lineman. Size the Scouts i've read talking about And
- 20:15Speaker 1: As cooper say that they like his footwork and his
- 20:18Speaker 1: ability to block at the second level on. Linebackers, well
- 20:21Speaker 1: does that sound like that sounds Like John benton's teaching
- 20:23Speaker 1: of The seahawks outside his own, scheme does it? Not
- 20:27Speaker 1: and As cooper guard From miami sixth round Pick i'm
- 20:30Speaker 1: projecting to The seahawks as their last pick of five
- 20:33Speaker 1: in this, Draft Anthony bradford suddenly is in the final
- 20:37Speaker 1: year of his rookie. Contract his deal ends after twenty twenty,
- 20:40Speaker 1: six and The seahawks have a. Decision they have not
- 20:42Speaker 1: habitually re signed their own linement until very. Recently the
- 20:46Speaker 1: bookend tackles Of Charles Cross Abe lucas re signings in
- 20:50Speaker 1: during last season For megabucks is a rarity In. Seattle
- 20:54Speaker 1: normally they do not resign even their own draft. Picks
- 20:57Speaker 1: you have to go back to Like russell o' kong
- 20:58Speaker 1: to find tackles offensive. Lineman The seahawks have re signed
- 21:02Speaker 1: after drafting them not so now they've got their two.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Bookends Gray's abel is absolutely entrenched as a stud starting left.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Guard they think they've got their center of the. FUTURE
- 21:11Speaker 1: i mean almost an accidental find In Jalen sidel that
- 21:14Speaker 1: was huge and an undrafted rookie From North Dakota state
- 21:17Speaker 1: And Jalen sindel Grays abel's former roommate In fargo And
- 21:21Speaker 1: North Dakota. State but now the right guard situation not
- 21:25Speaker 1: Just Anthony bradford's play, because by the, way AND i
- 21:28Speaker 1: don't think It's mike McDonald's staff blowing smoke they really like.
- 21:31Speaker 3: It oh, yeah that's the fun. Part everybody gets on.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Him but it's, like, well the guys that are watching
- 21:38Speaker 2: tape every, week watching him in, practice they believe he
- 21:41Speaker 2: earned every snap in those.
- 21:42Speaker 3: Games, yes he makes. Mistakes And mike McDonald alluded to.
- 21:45Speaker 2: THAT i think he was on it With softy and
- 21:48Speaker 2: they were talking about white Guard Anthony, bradford and he
- 21:52Speaker 2: made it to the point of, like, hey we haven't
- 21:54Speaker 2: even started practice, yet, Right, Like i'm excited to see
- 21:56Speaker 2: What anthony can. Do and last year it was the
- 21:58Speaker 2: same discussion about the running back, room like oh, it
- 22:00Speaker 2: do we need to add?
- 22:01Speaker 3: Anything Like Zach scharbay is? Good but and what? Happened what?
- 22:04Speaker 2: Happened it worked out really well and sort of the
- 22:06Speaker 2: offensive line for the most, part they had a couple
- 22:08Speaker 2: of hiccups here and, there but they were consistently above.
- 22:11Speaker 3: Average if you ask, me as an entire, UNIT i
- 22:13Speaker 3: know settle.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Average, yeah, yeah because we have seen bad play from
- 22:18Speaker 2: that offensive. Line So i'm with my McDonald, now LIKE
- 22:20Speaker 2: i get. IT i understand why you sit up here and, say,
- 22:23Speaker 2: guys it's It's, april It's. March let's not talk about
- 22:26Speaker 2: what these guys can and cannot. Do let's get into
- 22:28Speaker 2: a practice, first And i'm excited to see What Anthony
- 22:31Speaker 2: bradford can. Do not to mention if they draft another,
- 22:33Speaker 2: guard because What Bryce cable. Do he's someone that can
- 22:36Speaker 2: still make a run for. It But Anthony, Bradford, Yeah
- 22:38Speaker 2: Anthony brafford earned his. Opportunity he earned a starting spot
- 22:41Speaker 2: in weekend and week. Out he just has lapses just
- 22:43Speaker 2: like anybody else on tape when you watch him for
- 22:46Speaker 2: sixty five.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Plays and that Is mike McDonald's point is that you
- 22:49Speaker 1: Could his point is you could take cutups of almost
- 22:51Speaker 1: anyone in THE nfl for that, matter certainly on The
- 22:54Speaker 1: Sea owks offensive, line Including charles cross a blot this
- 22:57Speaker 1: and find a couple snaps or four snaps. Down bradford's
- 23:00Speaker 1: sometimes more than that where he looks like he's standing
- 23:02Speaker 1: waiting on the. Bus BUT i will also say, this
- 23:05Speaker 1: this is just. Facts if someone else was worthy of,
- 23:09Speaker 1: playing they would have played instead Of Anthony. Bratt they
- 23:12Speaker 1: was a chance that right guard job was opening training.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Camp Christian haynes has had four chances to win that
- 23:17Speaker 1: job since they draft, him and he can't win it
- 23:19Speaker 1: under two Different now offensive line Coaches John benton before,
- 23:23Speaker 1: that and The Ryan grubb offensive staff With Scott. Huff
- 23:27Speaker 1: since they've drafted, him they've tried four times to give
- 23:30Speaker 1: him the, job three times as a rookie and last
- 23:32Speaker 1: year in training, camp And Christian haynes has not gotten.
- 23:34Speaker 1: It those that are out, There i've forgetten questions, about
- 23:37Speaker 1: well could they Trade Christian. Haines, well, one he's still
- 23:39Speaker 1: under rookie, contract so he's cheap and serviceable as a depth.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Piece but, two who are you gonna trade him?
- 23:44Speaker 3: For what are you going to trade him? For back of?
- 23:46Speaker 1: Teas he hasn't done much at all to warrant anybody
- 23:50Speaker 1: being interested in.
- 23:50Speaker 3: Him, now my BUDDY espn dot Com Brady henderson.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Floated something this past. Weekend there's something interesting on one
- 23:56Speaker 1: of his podcast. Appearances what about over With? Timmy he
- 24:01Speaker 1: has some experience playing. Guard they draft him as a.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Center he was A Remington award winner At michigan A
- 24:05Speaker 1: cup three years ago as the top college. Center but
- 24:09Speaker 1: Now Jalen sindell is absolutely entrenched as the. Center sindell
- 24:12Speaker 1: beat Ol timmy out in training camp at that. Job
- 24:15Speaker 1: Ola timmy has some swing value as a potential backup,
- 24:18Speaker 1: guard and he's still under contract for two more, years
- 24:21Speaker 1: one more year Than Anthony. Bradford but oh It's timmy
- 24:25Speaker 1: has now lost a job twice at center and has
- 24:28Speaker 1: not been able to Unseat bradford at right. Guard Brady
- 24:31Speaker 1: henderson mentions That Ola timmy would have some trade value
- 24:36Speaker 1: and perhaps they could get a draft pick For Ol,
- 24:40Speaker 1: timmy a late round, pick perhaps in this year's draft
- 24:43Speaker 1: that they don't have a late round pick rather than
- 24:45Speaker 1: six that's the only pick in the last four. Rounds to,
- 24:48Speaker 1: me He Ola timmy has more trade value than Does Christian,
- 24:52Speaker 1: haynes simply because he's played more and he has STARTED nfl.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Games i'm not sure he has enough trade. VALUE i,
- 24:58Speaker 1: mean you look at trades and there are Some Pro
- 25:01Speaker 1: bowl players that sometimes get fifth for six round picks for, them,
- 25:03Speaker 1: right and now you're talking about about a rookie or excuse,
- 25:06Speaker 1: me a, backup second, year third year backup guard. Center
- 25:10Speaker 1: i'm not sure he'd have much trade value, either though
- 25:13Speaker 1: he would have some more Than Christian. Haines just to
- 25:16Speaker 1: let you know On Anthony. Bradford the team's word From
- 25:20Speaker 1: mike McDonald And John schneider is that they are very
- 25:22Speaker 1: pleased with, him and that he would not have been
- 25:24Speaker 1: starting through The Super bowl if they. Weren't but again
- 25:27Speaker 1: the caveat to that is if there was somebody, better
- 25:29Speaker 1: he would have been, playing Because bradford had every opportunity
- 25:32Speaker 1: to lose that job going into last season and it
- 25:34Speaker 1: didn't happen in training. Camp having said all of, that
- 25:37Speaker 1: the contract situation is it is keep this in mind
- 25:40Speaker 1: when you start thinking about What seahawks are going to
- 25:42Speaker 1: address the. DRAFT i say this and write this all the,
- 25:45Speaker 1: time having done this for twenty five.
- 25:47Speaker 3: Years the draft is not about this. Year it's about four.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Years it's projecting what your roster is going to look
- 25:54Speaker 1: like three and four years down the. Road, why because
- 25:58Speaker 1: rookie that you draft get four year contracts at slotted,
- 26:03Speaker 1: low relatively inexpensive, cost especially the later round. Deals The
- 26:08Speaker 1: seahawks got away with this for years with guys Like
- 26:10Speaker 1: Chris carson who were seventh round picks who became their
- 26:12Speaker 1: number one running. Back but the idea is if you
- 26:16Speaker 1: can find in The seahawks have often had success in
- 26:19Speaker 1: the later. Rounds if you can find Guys Richard, Sherman Cam,
- 26:22Speaker 1: chancellor fifth round picks who can become. Starters your entire
- 26:26Speaker 1: roster building is at an advantage because now you can
- 26:28Speaker 1: go sign and trade for big money guys and you're
- 26:31Speaker 1: during the season because you're paying starters rookie. Salaries can
- 26:36Speaker 1: they find that and will they even try to find?
- 26:38Speaker 1: That in the offensive? LINE i said in As cooper
- 26:40Speaker 1: From miami the sixth round pick at The News tribune Dot.
- 26:43Speaker 1: COM i explained in detail some more, why BUT i
- 26:46Speaker 1: think they go get some more death piece of offensive.
- 26:48Speaker 1: LINE i don't think they're just even though they only
- 26:50Speaker 1: have four, Picks, CHRIS i don't think that's a position
- 26:52Speaker 1: they ignore four, nine four or five One on The
- 26:54Speaker 1: Tacoma dodds text, line what do you want to see
- 26:57Speaker 1: The seahawks do in round one trade? Down is That fader?
- 27:01Speaker 1: Company you know that's gonna? Happen you want him to
- 27:04Speaker 1: pick at thirty? Two who or what position you want
- 27:06Speaker 1: him to pick at thirty?
- 27:07Speaker 3: Two and?
- 27:07Speaker 1: Why we'll read back your text at eleven thirty up.

- 30:04Speaker 1: florida who does it, all who also plays in pass,
- 30:06Speaker 1: coverage who does run. Support AND i think that's why
- 30:09Speaker 1: McDonald in particular would like and not to mention he
- 30:11Speaker 1: as a prototype edge, rusher length and. Speed Mal Ky
- 30:15Speaker 1: lawrence From Central florida as my pick for The, seahawks edg.
- 30:18Speaker 1: Rusher you, say, well no running. Back we'll talk about
- 30:20Speaker 1: that coming up in the next segment about the running back,

- 30:36Speaker 1: just a game and a half out of first place
- 30:37Speaker 1: in The American League. West and that's Because texas and
- 30:40Speaker 1: The A'S i still want to call Him oakland are
- 30:42Speaker 1: now In. Sacramento they're in first place at only eleven and.
- 30:45Speaker 1: Eleven there are no winning teams in The America League.
- 30:47Speaker 1: West yesterday's game got, Started Brian willie was going to
- 30:51Speaker 1: be brilliant.
- 30:51Speaker 3: Again we knew.
- 30:52Speaker 1: That could they score runs for, him which they haven't
- 30:54Speaker 1: done much this. Season, well, yes because Of Rob. Reschneider you,
- 30:58Speaker 1: Remember amy's the veteran platoon outfielder that they saw with
- 31:03Speaker 1: metrics in their own eyes and scouting was one of
- 31:05Speaker 1: the best at hitting left handed pitching in the major.
- 31:08Speaker 1: Leagues so they, said let's make him our guide to
- 31:11Speaker 1: go against left handed starter as. Well The rangers threw
- 31:13Speaker 1: a left eal. Yesterday they start Ref nuner and they
- 31:15Speaker 1: put him in the number one spot playing right, field
- 31:18Speaker 1: and in the first pitch he, saw the first pitch
- 31:21Speaker 1: The mariners saw, yesterday he hits a home.
- 31:23Speaker 3: Run for his first hit of the. Season he had
- 31:26Speaker 3: been oh for.
- 31:27Speaker 1: Nineteen not exactly the way you want to break into
- 31:30Speaker 1: a new club that just signed you to a free agent,
- 31:32Speaker 1: deal and as a hitting star of yesterday's, game Rob
- 31:35Speaker 1: Reth schneider talked after the game about this over nineteen
- 31:39Speaker 1: start and how he's felt mentally about. It, yeah super.
- 31:43Speaker 4: Frustrating, HONESTLY i feel like thankful for my, teammates you,
- 31:46Speaker 4: know trying to help me. THROUGH i don't think you
- 31:48Speaker 4: ever want to, slump especially early in the, year new,
- 31:51Speaker 4: team new. City so it's definitely been hard on. Myself
- 31:54Speaker 4: But i've had a lot of. Help our mental, Coach
- 31:56Speaker 4: burn has helped. ME i kind of alluded to that
- 31:58Speaker 4: on the. Field, honestly really appreciate there's been some fans
- 32:02Speaker 4: during early batting practice even today in the, Outfield i've,
- 32:05Speaker 4: been you, know really supportive and that. Helps i'm, human
- 32:09Speaker 4: so we hear a lot of. Things so just to
- 32:11Speaker 4: have the fans support and you, know mental lot is pretty.
- 32:15Speaker 4: Cool you, Know i've been to some places and played
- 32:17Speaker 4: us some places where you kind of get booted at
- 32:19Speaker 4: home and things like, that and definitely wors on. YOU
- 32:22Speaker 4: i think we're all, Human but a lot of credit
- 32:25Speaker 4: goes to my, teammates LIKE i, said And. Burne you,
- 32:27Speaker 4: KNOW i had a good conversation With burne at the
- 32:29Speaker 4: end of the game last, night and especially my. Wife you,
- 32:32Speaker 4: know she's the one THAT i come home too and
- 32:35Speaker 4: have a lot of different conversations at night and things like.
- 32:38Speaker 4: That so you, know a lot of credit to a
- 32:40Speaker 4: lot of different.
- 32:40Speaker 1: People burne is the mental conditioning, coach as it, were
- 32:46Speaker 1: and you met he mentioned his wife as. Well Any
- 32:49Speaker 1: Thanks rob Reth, Nider Thanks mariners. Fans it's really easy in.
- 32:53Speaker 1: Baseball they play every, day but we see him as
- 32:56Speaker 1: fantasy widgets and if you're, betting you're betting on guys
- 32:59Speaker 1: to get hit and parlays and what have. You they're
- 33:02Speaker 1: still human beings, too, though and they still they hear
- 33:05Speaker 1: the booze and they take it home with, them and
- 33:07Speaker 1: they've got pride and they got to where they are
- 33:10Speaker 1: in the major. Leagues are professional athletics because of their
- 33:13Speaker 1: competitiveness and their, pride and they are not used to
- 33:18Speaker 1: failing or else they wouldn't be at this. Level AND
- 33:20Speaker 1: i know a lot of fans don't want to give
- 33:21Speaker 1: me a break about the mental health. Stuff but the
- 33:24Speaker 1: more you hear about mental, health and the more you
- 33:26Speaker 1: are aware of the fact that there are human beings
- 33:29Speaker 1: that play these games that we, watch there's a different
- 33:31Speaker 1: perspective to. That and it's not like they don't. Care
- 33:34Speaker 1: by and, Large, yeah they get paid huge sums of,
- 33:36Speaker 1: money but the reason they're getting paid that is because
- 33:38Speaker 1: they don't go through over nineteen streaks very, often especially
- 33:42Speaker 1: difficult when you're coming to a new city signing with
- 33:45Speaker 1: a new club for the first. Time and that Was Rob,
- 33:47Speaker 1: Refschneider so it was somewhat of a human moment that
- 33:50Speaker 1: there to reveal. It, yeah this Is i've been hearing
- 33:53Speaker 1: this and wearing. It but he also Thanks seattles fans
- 33:56Speaker 1: for being supportive and talking to him during early batting
- 33:59Speaker 1: practice at the.
- 34:00Speaker 3: Yard and, look he's not, alone, Right.
- 34:03Speaker 1: Chris it's not like you can just point Out Rob
- 34:05Speaker 1: rothschneider is the reason why they've been sub five hundred all.
- 34:07Speaker 3: Month, no that would be, nice but you can't do.
- 34:10Speaker 3: That so moving, along he is not the reason that
- 34:13Speaker 3: they've been under five. Hundred Kyle raley's still in the one.
- 34:17Speaker 1: Hundreds he got to hit, yesterday struck out again. Yesterday
- 34:21Speaker 1: Julio rodriguez is warming up a little. Bit seems like
- 34:24Speaker 1: a broken record saying that early in the, season but
- 34:26Speaker 1: he's now over two, hundred WHICH i know is a little,
- 34:28Speaker 1: bar but he And raley were both in the one
- 34:30Speaker 1: thirties for the first couple of weeks of the. Season
- 34:33Speaker 1: he's Now Julio rodriguez up to fifteen games now Reaching
- 34:38Speaker 1: bay as a streak of Reaching bays by a hit or.
- 34:41Speaker 1: Walk if they can get Now raleigh, going then they
- 34:44Speaker 1: can get their offense a little bit toward the semblance
- 34:46Speaker 1: of what they expected to. Be the pitching's going to
- 34:50Speaker 1: be there and The mariners are going to stay in,
- 34:52Speaker 1: contention especially what looks to be a weaker alos The.
- 34:56Speaker 1: Astro the Trash cans are a mess right now with
- 34:58Speaker 1: their pitching. Staff and see The marriner's just sweeping. Them
- 35:02Speaker 1: and they got swept by The rockies before they came Into,
- 35:05Speaker 1: seattle although they had rebound Against. Colorado houston did at,
- 35:08Speaker 1: home but there's no team running away with The American League.
- 35:11Speaker 1: West so suddenly The mariners at ten and thirteen are
- 35:13Speaker 1: just a game and a half out of first. Place
- 35:15Speaker 1: it's pretty early to talk about standings Here april, eighteenth nineteen.
- 35:19Speaker 1: Twentieth but the point is it's not as bad as
- 35:23Speaker 1: it could be in other, seasons and not quite as
- 35:25Speaker 1: bad as we may think it has, been because the
- 35:27Speaker 1: look up and oh here they are a game and
- 35:29Speaker 1: a half out the first. Place athletics come to town
- 35:32Speaker 1: tonight for a three game. Series the first game the
- 35:34Speaker 1: night Is Emerson hancock is pitching And Chris. Emerson hancock
- 35:38Speaker 1: has been filling in for Injured Bryce miller in. Rotation
- 35:40Speaker 1: BUT i joked last week WHEN i was on With,
- 35:44Speaker 1: CHUCK i don't see any Reason Bryce miller shouldn't be
- 35:46Speaker 1: like on a sixty day rehab assignment down In, tacoma
- 35:50Speaker 1: so That Emerson hancock could stay in the. Rotation why
- 35:52Speaker 1: would you take him.
- 35:53Speaker 3: Out we'll see if they pull the.
- 35:54Speaker 2: Plug but at the same, time they just don't want
- 35:57Speaker 2: stuff to see what sticks because it's the EARLY. YEP
- 36:01Speaker 2: i don't know If i'd want to do, that but
- 36:04Speaker 2: it's a healthy, Season so let's just edge towards Mid
- 36:10Speaker 2: may and see how things are with the, pitching and
- 36:13Speaker 2: if you need to make some, changes you make those.
- 36:14Speaker 2: Changes now is the time to test things out and
- 36:17Speaker 2: see if it. Sticks but at the season, progresses you
- 36:19Speaker 2: gotta you really got to stick to.
- 36:21Speaker 1: Something because it could really derail. You later, On, Ammerson
- 36:24Speaker 1: hancock deserves. TO i, mean the guy's been lights, out
- 36:26Speaker 1: pitching shutouts into seventh innings of. Starts Chryce, miller it's
- 36:31Speaker 1: interesting The mariners have come out and, said, well it's
- 36:33Speaker 1: gonna be about a thirty day rehabit simon of Triple
- 36:35Speaker 1: they don't baseball teams don't usually do. That usually it's, like,
- 36:39Speaker 1: well we'll.
- 36:39Speaker 3: See how many days he needs down, there how many.
- 36:41Speaker 1: Starts now they just ani it's gonna be a. Month
- 36:44Speaker 1: So hancock's going to be in for at least the
- 36:46Speaker 1: next four weeks as he should, be which means at
- 36:49Speaker 1: least three or four more, starts including the night against
- 36:53Speaker 1: The a's at The. Yard that's a six to forty
- 36:54Speaker 1: start down at The yard instead of a three game,
- 36:56Speaker 1: series and then The mariners head out to The midwest
- 36:59Speaker 1: to Play. St louis coming up this. Weekend. Again for
- 37:02Speaker 1: all the aanngs we've had in the first month of
- 37:05Speaker 1: the season over the hometown. Team they are just a
- 37:08Speaker 1: game and a half out of first place at ten and.
- 37:10Speaker 1: Thirteen they're better than The Blue, jays their opponents in
- 37:13Speaker 1: THE alcs last. Year subterranean Blue jays have had even
- 37:17Speaker 1: more bullpen problems than The. Mariners i'm next second out
