- 2:54this week's dot me Please pet the week Hannah, good morning, welcome to
- 2:58the show. Are you I'm fine? Welcome back, say welcome back,
- 3:02because two weeks ago we had to take your slot for flood coverage, which
- 3:07is understandable. Last week, you had a situation going on with one of
- 3:09your pets at home. And I don't want to get too personal here,
- 3:13Hannah, but but just to prove that shelter workers are actually people too,
- 3:16and you love your pets as much as we do. What was going on?
- 3:20And is everything okay? My little little little chihuah Wa she had a
- 3:27broken little leg and she had to actually get it amputated because no other surgery
- 3:31for her would work at the moment. So she is doing well. She
- 3:36actually doesn't even I don't even think she realizes but the leg is gone.
- 3:39She acts in the little she's running and jumping, which I try to get
- 3:43her not to, but it's healing and she is getting her stitches out that
- 3:46day. What's her name? Her name is Annie, Annie Annie. So
- 3:51Annie is doing well. That is that's certainly good. That's that's wild that
- 3:53you said that she doesn't even realize it's gone. Yeah, she literally just
- 3:59acts like it's still there, like you can see her shoulder like you know,
- 4:01I'm sure she doesn't even realize. She had no idea she was getting
- 4:04it done, but she still moves her shoulder a little bit and you can
- 4:09tell she's trying to paw at you and stuff, but there's no leg.
- 4:13Okay, well, I'm glad it all turned out well because anytime you're dealing
- 4:15with animals or humans and it comes to surgery, you never know what can
- 4:18happen. Complications can happen, So we were kind of concerned about it last
- 4:21week, but we're glad everything turned out well. Let's talk about this week's
- 4:25about me. Please put her the week. Her name is miss Piggy and
- 4:29as always pictures posted Dave Aland Radio on Facebook of the Dave Allen Show on
- 4:32X I have to say, I love the name that you told me that
- 4:36Miss Piggy was dropped off as I guess astray er, I've just dropped off
- 4:41to the shelter. Any idea though about the story or of the story of
- 4:44the name or was that just the name that you all gave her at the
- 4:46shelter. So well, she was kind of dropped at the shelter, so
- 4:53we weren't really able to get much information. However, the what we were
- 4:58left with was her name is miss Peggy and that she's bilingual. So we
- 5:03we tried out some like Spanish. Hold on, hold hold on, hold
- 5:08on, kid. You said this to me in a text last night when
- 5:11you sit in the picture. You said, the dog is bilingual. All
- 5:14right, Explain to me why you think it was. Spanish is the language
- 5:18of choice for miss Piggy? All right? How do we know this?
- 5:23Well, it had said Spanish on it, So we just tried a few
- 5:26words and she looks at chip, but she doesn't really do anything, So
- 5:30we really honestly have no idea if she is or not. Of course,
- 5:34you know, whoever adopts her or whoever fosters her can try it out and
- 5:39see if it really or she really is, but we really aren't having much
- 5:44luck with it, so we don't think that she might. Maybe, And
- 5:47I don't know how long we've been doing this segment. I had like two
- 5:49years or something like that. This may be the first time we've ever had
- 5:53possibly a bilingual dog on the show. But Miss Piggy is a beautiful,
- 5:58beautiful dog, a little little shepherd in there. Maybe, oh yeah,
- 6:01I would say, so, yeah. I'm not what else she would be.
- 6:05But she kind of gives me like a kida a little bit. But
- 6:09I don't know. Well, she's definitely a beautiful dog. You give us
- 6:13the whole story on Miss Piggie, right. So, she was dropped at
- 6:17the shelter. We didn't really get much information on her other than what I've
- 6:21said thus far. She is estimated to be around two years old. We
- 6:27aren't we go out like their gums and their teeth, so she could be
- 6:30a little bit older, a little bit younger, but she's around two.
- 6:33She has a female of course, she's not fixed yet, but she will
- 6:36be before she goes home. And if we cannot get her fixed before she
- 6:42goes home, if that's a situation, she will definitely be brought back within
- 6:45the next week or two weeks or something like that. Now she is up
- 6:50to date on her shot and she in playgroups with all the other dogs.
- 6:55She's very, very playful with them. She actually prefers the more playful dogs.
- 7:00She seems to be kid friendly from what we've seen. Of course,
- 7:02I will say it every single time. I always always advised caution with kids,
- 7:08especially when your kids have not been around animals before. But other than
- 7:12that, she she does pool slightly on the leash a little bit, so
- 7:15she definitely could use a little bit of training with that, just some like
- 7:18toaxing with that and stuff. But she is a sweetie. She's very,
- 7:23very very loving, she's very smart, and she would make a really good
- 7:27family dog. I think. So if you want to, you could come
- 7:30up and you could take her for a walk. You could even foster her
- 7:33for night or two and see how she does with maybe your animals or in
- 7:36your home. But she's definitely ready for a home and she is ready to
- 7:42be her cute, funny self in a home. She's a beautiful dog and
- 7:46again was always there. The picture of mss Piggy posted at Dave Allen Radio
- 7:50on Facebook and the Dave Allen Show on X Hannah, how are we doing
- 7:56since the U haul incident up there? You know, we're doing as good
- 8:00as we can. We've been trucking along with trying to make sure everything's going
- 8:05smooth as possible. Still, we still have a lot of animals out in
- 8:09foster home, and we see a few more coming into the shelter each day.
- 8:13You know, it's case by case on what we take in. I
- 8:16believe right now it just kind of depends on everything. But we're trying to
- 8:22stay under a certain amount right now until we get started on construction and stuff
- 8:26like that. I have not heard an update quite yet on what's different.
- 8:31I know that we are supposed to see some big changes here soon, so
- 8:37maybe next week I'll have some more information on the actual building. All right,
- 8:41So I know it's been a slow process since that accident happened a couple
- 8:43of weeks ago, and there's talking maybe folks, you know, hopefully finding
- 8:48a new location, which I'm sure everybody there would be excited about it if
- 8:50and when that does happen. You've been posting a lot more pictures of cats
- 8:54here on the on the social media. What's up with that? Yeah,
- 8:58so season is definitely in swing. We've had a lot of mamas with babies.
- 9:05We've had kittens that are available for adoption that have been coming up,
- 9:09but of course, you know, those kittens go fast. Everybody's been waiting
- 9:15for kittens, So we definitely say keep an eye out on our website and
- 9:18if you do have interest in any of them, you can come on up
- 9:22and look at them, or you can even call us and we can give
- 9:24you more information on whoever it is that you're looking at. If we know
- 9:30more information on them, but a lot of the kittens are just being brought
- 9:33up by the public or even some of our officers maybe finding them. But
- 9:37we definitely are in kittens season. The daya Island showing five AA Live brought

- 10:33Saturday night. Thanks, Saturday night. So we'll have time to talk about
- 10:35it on next Friday's show a little bit hopefully, hopefully we'll be talking about
- 10:39a scarcity of tickets at that point. That's what we'd like to hear,
- 10:43right, yes, of course. All right, and a gardener from the
- 10:46Cannala Charlestony Made Association. I do appreciate you being here. Thanks a lot.
- 10:50We'll talk again next week. All right, thank you, thank you.
- 10:54It is nine eighteen again our adopt me please put it the week from
- 10:58the Cannal Charleston Man Association. Miss Piggy is a Nape Ryan maybe a bilingual
- 11:03dog. First time ever on the show. We may have had a bilingual
- 11:07dog. Two years old. Female was dropped off at shelter. Not fixed
- 11:11yet but will be. All shots are up to date. Miss Piggy prefers
- 11:16playful dogs. Seems to be kid friendly, but you know, again we
- 11:18always advise like hany let's say, as we always advise caution in that respect.
- 11:24Needs a little bit of work on the leash, but nothing that can't
- 11:26be approved upon again. Very a young dog, definitely got some shepherd in
- 11:31her. Beautiful dog, very playful. If you're looking for a great family
- 11:35dog, this would be the dog for you. Miss Piggy is her name,
- 11:39and if you want to see what Miss Piggy looks like again, you

- 16:36that that restaurant was closing, But I think there's a whole lot more to

- 17:10stuff. Voices in my head are talking to me? Sean, I'm all
- 17:12that's up with that? All right? Sean Crozer's a I candidate for sheriff
- 17:18here i Condon County. Good morning, sir, welcome to the show.
- 17:19Sorry about that, Thanks Dave, That's okay. I wasn't too scared,
- 17:23but thank you for having me. First of all, well, thank you
- 17:26for being here. I do appreciate you being to give us a biol on.
- 17:29Shawn Krozer, tell us about you. Well, I've been around for
- 17:32quite a while now. I came here back in about nineteen eighty four and
- 17:36went to West Virginia State College. Back then played some baseball under Calm Bailey.
- 17:42Hurt my arm, and of course I had to stop there. But
- 17:47I joined the Kanaal County Sheriff's Department in nineteen eighty seven after some testing and
- 17:53all the civil service testing that's included there written test, which is an aptitude
- 17:59type test. It's a physical ability test and a good background. So started
- 18:04as a deputy sheriff in nineteen eighty seven and traveled through that journey until twenty
- 18:11fifteen. Rose to the rank of captain, and each promotion is also vetted
- 18:17by civil service. So it's a testing process. So I finally retired after
- 18:22twenty seven years, six weeks and two days. Got it, like,
- 18:26you've already done the math on the all time. I just guessed that,
- 18:30yes, So why do you want to be sheriff? Now? Oh gosh,
- 18:33Well, my family has been in law enforcement since about nineteen forty so
- 18:38I was doing the math, and we've been in law enforcement since sy for
- 18:44about eighty four years now. I have my grandfather was a conservation officer.
- 18:49My dad was Back then it was called a game warden. My dad was
- 18:53a conservation officer, and then he was sheriff of Monroe County for two terms.
- 18:57He actually spent Now you know, it's prince Monroe County, right,
- 19:02Monroe? What I say, I'm just kidding from there. I'm just kidding
- 19:07this is it Monroe? Is it Monroe? It's Monroe. But if you're
- 19:11from there, it's money Monroe. I'm just missing with you. That's okay.
- 19:15I've said that before myself. I'm just kidding with you. So yeah,
- 19:18make a long story short. It's always been in our blood. Uh.
- 19:22I've got a son that's a deputy sheriff. A nephew's a deputy sheriff
- 19:26and a nephew's a state trooper, and uh, it really isn't any one.
- 19:30It sure is. And I've had other uncles that were in law enforcement
- 19:33as well. So what is the biggest needs of the department. Oh well,
- 19:38certainly, I mean if you have if you look every day you turn
- 19:42on the news, there's some sort of violent activity going on, and the
- 19:47fact of the matter is it's normally extremely violent. A lot of people are
- 19:51losing their lives. I think if you look at that root problem, there's
- 19:55always a nexus to some sort of controlled substance, whether it be drugs.
- 20:00Of course alcohol is not a controlled substance, but in addition to that,
- 20:04a lot of it serves for mental health. We have a huge mental health
- 20:08problem in this country right now, and I think it's driving the violence,
- 20:14it's driving the demand for drugs. It's some sort of escape or outlet.
- 20:21I mean, I think, and I don't think anybody would disagree with you
- 20:23on that. Again, we're talking with Sean Crozer, who's a candidate for
- 20:26sheriff here in Cannock Condey. You're a registered what Republican register Republican? All
- 20:30right? Always have to ask that sure. So it's just not easy today
- 20:33being the cop in today's society, is it not. My listeners have heard
- 20:37me say this time and time again. The two jobs I probably wouldn't want
- 20:41to go into being a cop or being a teacher right now. So it's
- 20:48just not easy, and we're having trouble getting people wanting to go into the
- 20:52ranks of being a police officer across the board. Right when I tested back
- 20:56in nineteen eighty seven, we had nearly three hundre citizens that want to be
- 21:03a deputy sheriff. The last ten years that I worked, I coordinated all
- 21:08of our hiring process, our testing process, all of the civil service required
- 21:14events that a person has to go through to become a deputy sheriff. And
- 21:18initially we would have maybe one hundred and fifty candidates that went all the way
- 21:26down to maybe eighty seventy that took the test I think my last year.
- 21:33And then you have to consider backgrounds. Backgrounds aren't nearly as clean as what
- 21:37they used to be. Sometimes you even had we had to lower our standards
- 21:42just a little bit, not much, but just a little bit to try
- 21:45to find some good candidates. I mean, I can and again, this
- 21:49is something I hear from various departments. It is their city police or and
- 21:53it doesn't matter how big the town there, it's a national trend. If
- 21:57you are elected sheriff, Sean, what are you going to do to try
- 22:02to make this job more attractive to people to get people to want to go
- 22:04into it? Well, and I will give some applied to our current administration
- 22:11there. I think they've done well a great job at working with the County
- 22:15Commission building the initial pay. Kids look at money for first of all,
- 22:22and then they then they think about what they want to do for the rest
- 22:26of their life. Unfortunately, they should be what they wanted. They should
- 22:30look at first what they want to do for the rest of their life and
- 22:32then consider how much it pays. But so they've done a good job there,
- 22:37and I think if we get out and just do a better recruiting reach
- 22:41out to the colleges, all of the colleges former military always they always seem
- 22:48to make really really good officers because they're already squared away. They've they've been
- 22:53through hard training, which it helps it. They go through the state Police
- 23:02Academy normally with a breeze at that point because they've already had the tough training
- 23:06they have and the discipline too. And the discipline, yes, Sir,
- 23:07is the beggest part of it, absolutely, But a valance on five any

- 23:29information. Talker Sean Krzer, who's a candidate Republican candidate for sheriff here in
- 23:33Kanaw County. If you are elected, what are some of the changes you'd
- 23:36like to bring to the officer programs you'd like to implement. We talked about
- 23:38the hiring, but give us an idea of some of the things you may
- 23:41like to do. I want to reinstitute a very robust community policing section.
- 23:48Now what does that entail. Well, Intel's reconnecting with the citizens to find
- 23:53out the needs in their neighborhood. Every time that I go around the neighborhoods
- 23:57now, I asked, hey, do you know who your deputy sheriff is?
- 24:02And they just look at me, look at me funny, like,
- 24:04of course I don't know who they are, but they should know. They
- 24:08should know the local deputy sheriff that works that area on a first name basis,
- 24:14so they can build that trust and be able to call when something's going
- 24:17on in their neighborhood. Because right now, and it has been for years,
- 24:21the citizens don't know who to call, that who they number one,
- 24:26who they can trust, because if they don't trust someone, they're not going
- 24:29to call them because if they don't trust someone, they're afraid their house is
- 24:33going to be burnt, burnt down, or they're going to be the victim
- 24:37of a drive by shooting. So I want to create a real robust community
- 24:41policing section. And we've lost an entire generation of children to drugs. I
- 24:48mean that kind of goes without saying. So we have to get back in
- 24:52the drug education business and at all levels, elementary, middle and high schools,
- 24:57we have to drive home the danger of drugs. And when we're doing
- 25:03that, we're going to be connecting with that younger generation first of all,
- 25:08and so that's going to facilitate much better communication as things go as life goes
- 25:18on. But we can't just educate. We have to also take the drugs
- 25:22off the street, and they've been doing really good job with that as well.
- 25:25It's tough, it's an uphill battle. But thirdly, we have to
- 25:30reduce the demand. You can take all the food out of the stores,
- 25:34but somebody's going to find a place to go eat. Well, you can
- 25:37take all the drugs off the street, but addicts are going to find a
- 25:41place or find a new method, a new drug or whatever to reach that
- 25:47high. So we have to work with the addicts to help reduce that demand.
- 25:52So it's multifaceted. Does that go back to the mental health aspect that
- 25:55we take it? Sure does, yes, sir. I thank everybody would
- 25:57agree we have a mental health crisis in this country. I don't actually know
- 26:00how to address it to Shaan Kroscher's there again, a candidate for sheriff in
- 26:06Kanac County. How's the campaign been so far? Sean, It's gone really
- 26:08well. I'm very pleased. Feedback is absolutely miraculous. And when I say
- 26:14it's miraculous. It's truly a miracle, and I'm very very pleased with what
- 26:22I'm getting from what I'm hearing. One way or the other, there will
- 26:25be a new sheriff in one way or the other, yes, because mister
- 26:27Rutherford is term limited. Out. When you're out on the campaign trail and
- 26:33you're either going to a to door, going to candidate's forums, or whatever
- 26:37it is you may be doing, what do you hear from the public,
- 26:40Sean, Well, they're all concerned about the violence in their neighborhoods, and
- 26:44there in lies the community policing program. A good community policing program can reduce
- 26:49crime rates anywhere from ten to forty percent. So it's a no brainer.
- 26:56If you do the same things that you've always done, expect for better results
- 27:00doesn't happen, right, So we have to change something and do something different.
- 27:04Well, community deplexing programs around the nation have proven themselves. They pay
- 27:11dividend to the citizens. So without a doubt, if I'm elected at Sheriff
- 27:15Kennall County, We're gonna start that program back up again. It's been twenty
- 27:21some years since we've had any sort of formidable community depleting program. Do you
- 27:27have a website social media Facebook, anything you want to do? Yes,
- 27:32sir, I'm sorry to interrupt right a little quick on the trigger there,
- 27:36Yes, sir. Facebook is Sewn Krazer for SHAREFF. I also have a
- 27:41website that's crozierf sheriff dot com And you can jump on any of those and
- 27:49find out a little bit about me and if you see what you like,
- 27:52I would absolutely love to have your vote. I can promise it'll pay off
- 27:59for you with crime rate reduction and rapport with the sheriff's office. All right,
- 28:04final thirty, what makes you the better candidate for sheriff? Well,
- 28:07I think that my twenty seven plus years in the sheriff's all in the Kanaal
- 28:12County Sheriff's Office. At the time I retired, I had been there over
- 28:18half of my life, and I rode from the bottom to the top by
- 28:25merit. I was in the administration for the last ten years, so I
- 28:30know how the ins and outs and how that department runs and how it should
- 28:36run, and what we can do better to better help the citizens. And
- 28:42that's what it's all about. We need to help the citizens. They pay
- 28:47our salaries. John I appreciate you being here. Thanks a lot, best
- 28:49to luck to you out on the campaign trail. Well, thank you,
- 28:52David. It was also always a pleasure to be here with you. I
- 28:55appreciate you. I appreciate you being here. Twenty four minutes away from ten.

- 32:23should. Well, maybe get in that a little bit more next week.
- 32:27Finally something that can unite all these people. I guess was that ruling out
- 32:31of Washington yesterday. And we knock, got a couple of texts here,
- 32:35and I want to talk about some fun stuff. Tex says, I'm a
- 32:37millennial. I remember drug education schools say marijuana was just as dangerous as heroin
- 32:42or cocaine. Hopefully that'll get changed in modern drug education. Tex says,
- 32:46the news always says violence on because violence gets views, which in turn drives
- 32:52advertisement. Let's not forget that the news is a for profit industry and profits
- 32:55come from advertising. Violence happens every day, so do great things. But
- 33:00great things don't get views and don't sell ad slots. The world is not
- 33:05any work today than has been before, it, says a Texter. There
- 33:09is a lot of truth to that. Violent crime mostly down, and people
- 33:15when they talk about I've you know, you've heard me railing and I promise,
- 33:19guys, I'm we'll get to my guest here in just a couple of
- 33:21moments. They heard me rail about kids not riding school buses, and they
- 33:24talk about the safety issues and whatever. Yeah, your kids safer today than
- 33:29what they were when I was a kid in the nineteen cent They're also more
- 33:31likely to be kidnapped in the nineteen seventies than they are now, too.
- 33:34That's a fact. That's a fact. Texts okay already read that when Tex
- 33:39says, uh, crime is out of control. I called for help and
- 33:44they beat me up. All right, sounds like maybe you need to call
- 33:46someone else, Tex says Dave. The sheriff is the only law enforcement elected
- 33:51by the people. And not appointed. Thus they are truly the last line
- 33:54of local defense of the Constitution against out of control governments. Little Detective Kroezeer
- 34:00refused to follow unconstitutional orders as a Texter. A couple of people that always
- 34:06follow the Constitution and the Bible and the Ten Commandments and all the above,
- 34:10the Bill of Rights and all the other stuff. Is Kelly Steele from the
- 34:14Putnam County cv B. How are you. I'm just I'm doing great.
- 34:17It's Friday. I'm just like making stuff up. Well, that sounds great,
- 34:21that's probably true. I don't know about always. Evan Osborne's here from
- 34:25Capitol Market. How are you, man? Fantastic. I appreciate you both
- 34:30being here today. And the reason I had you both on today was because
- 34:32it's Friday, and I'm tired and I really don't want to do the rest
- 34:35of the show, so I'm just gonna turn it over to you. But
- 34:37Kelly, tomorrow, you your folks, the CVB folks, and the Puttnam
- 34:43County Chamber of Commerce kind of team up for this thing for the West Virginia
- 34:45Food Truck Festival, fourth annual. Is that right? Six six? Yeah?
- 34:50Matthew Math was never my strong suit mine either. So so tomorrow's a
- 34:55big day Puckham County fair Grounds in Eleanor. I heard her earlier from the
- 35:00folks that adopted Crewton. Who is my being my big success. You've got
- 35:05to follow if you don't follow this the chronicles of Crouton on social media.
- 35:09It's a dog that we got adopted on the air. And these folks are
- 35:12from Saying Albans. They're awesome about updating me with what's going on a Cruton
- 35:15and they're bringing Crewton to the Food Truck Festival. Crewton was there last year.
- 35:20You cannot wait to meet Kreuton. Yeah, local sliverty. He is
- 35:22a local celebrity, a lot bigger than I am. Everybody asked everybody,
- 35:25I'm there at this on the stage with Crouton, and all these people run
- 35:30up and they they're like, oh, look at the dog. I'm like
- 35:31I'm there too. So anyway, let's talk about Food Truck Fast. Yeah,
- 35:36so gates open and tickets and all that stuff. Yeah, so you
- 35:38can come for free from one to five. Come come, bring your pets,
- 35:44bring them on a leash, but yeah, come come and enjoy it
- 35:47for free. Or you can come from noon to one for the VIP hour
- 35:52for just ten bucks. You can get those. It's just something new you're
- 35:54doing this year. The vip explain how exactly how that's going to work.
- 35:58Well, it just gets you in the door an hour early, and because
- 36:00it's a paid ticket, we're limiting crowds. So one of the complaints that
- 36:06we heard was that the lines are long, and we get that, but
- 36:08it's also a free event, so we can't do much about that. People
- 36:12didn't want to buy tickets, complained about ticket prices, so we made it
- 36:15free, which is great, and then some folks didn't like the lines,
- 36:19which I understand. So we said, all right, well, how about
- 36:22we do one hour where people can pay a small fee and we limit the
- 36:25number of tickets that we sell. So if you can enjoy one hour during
- 36:30peak lunchtime, you know when your belly's the hungriest that lunchtime, and you
- 36:34can hit as many trucks as you want. There's still live music, it's
- 36:37the same festival experience. Or gates open to the public at one and then
- 36:40it'll be a little crazy for a couple hours. So yeah, twelve to
- 36:45one, you can come. What is surprised on those vip life. So
- 36:47that's ten dollars. And again the proceeds from this are going to benefit the
- 36:52Putnam Candida the Friends of the Putnam County Library. That's right. So any
- 36:54profits from the food truck Festival go to the Friends of the Putnam Library.
- 36:58And there's a raffle basket you can purchase tickets for that at the festival.
- 37:01Now that's not we want to make sure people understand that's not the price of
- 37:05the food that's going to go to that. That's just the profits from those
- 37:07that do the VP, do the or do the raffles thing. That's right.
- 37:12And again a different charity is chosen every year. Yeah you did dif
- 37:16Friends of the Library, that's right, different local nonprofit each year. So
- 37:21this year we're supporting our lives. Well, everybody wants to know about the
- 37:22food trucks. Can you tell us a few that are going to be we
- 37:24do. We got as as with every year, we got lots of great
- 37:28food coming. So we have fifteen or sixteen trucks registered, Lobster trapping which
- 37:34is a fan favorite, a couple of barbecue trucks. We've got shaved ice
- 37:37and frios, the popsicles We've got a mini donut truck coming this year,
- 37:42which I'm super pumped about. We've got everything from soul food to tacos to
- 37:49barbecue, you know, mac and cheese, you name it, you can
- 37:52probably find it at one of the trucks. And one of the great things
- 37:54about having it over there in eleanor to Putnam County Fairgrounds is you had a
- 37:58big old, wide open field over there. As you said, if you
- 38:01want to bring as long as your pets are on the leash, you're welcome
- 38:04bringing your pets. Great for the kids to run around. You always have
- 38:07games and different things for the kids going on up there. It's really really
- 38:09I mean, you've had it a couple of different places, but this,
- 38:12I think is with all due respect to the other spots, this is the
- 38:15best because, I mean you're out there in that big old, wide open
- 38:17field and you just have a good time. You got plenty of room for
- 38:21the musicians and things of that nature too. Yeah, lots of electricity for
- 38:24the trucks, and lots of room to spread out and enjoy the space,
- 38:27enjoy the live music. It's just an ideal spot for the festival. And
- 38:30I want to talk about the live music. Who we get. Yeah,
- 38:31we've got Keegan McLain is playing the River Jam Band. If you haven't heard
- 38:36them, they're so good. Spurgey Hankins, I hope I'm saying that right,
- 38:45and yeah, and then Evie Schafer's playing. So what kind of means
- 38:49to we talked about with these people because in the past, and here's one
- 38:52thing I love about the musicians that you book for the Food Truck Festival.
- 38:55In the past, it's always been very eclectic and if you don't like this
- 39:00song, well, le's stick around you like the next one. It's been
- 39:01a little bit of everything. It's been country, it's been rock, it's
- 39:05been a little bit of soul. It's been a little bit of everything.
- 39:07Yeah, a little bit of funk, a little bit of country sounding,
- 39:10a little bit of mean. River Jam bands more of a cover band,
- 39:15super high energy. I actually heard them at the Sharpless reunion back in the
- 39:22fall, which is fun, and they were so good, so we booked
- 39:24them right up. So just all I mean, you'll hear all kinds of
- 39:29music there and we're looking forward to I got a text question here for you.
- 39:32Will the vendors have samples this year? When we went, there were
- 39:37no samples lines for very long, so we just left without trying anything.
- 39:39There will not be samples. We heard from the food trucks that that was
- 39:43very difficult for them to manage. We did that when they were when that
- 39:47was a paid ticket situation. So part of the ticket admission price when we
- 39:52did regular paid tickets was it included samples, and so once we made it
- 39:55free, we couldn't also ask our trucks to offer samples. Let me say
- 40:00this about the lines, because that's always been a knock at any of these
- 40:05kind of things. There's always a knock on the lines are long. Explain
- 40:08to people why the lines are long. Well, two things. I mean,
- 40:12it's a free event, so we have a lot of folks and we
- 40:15work very hard to attract as many trucks as we can. And it is
- 40:19expensive if you're not familiar with the economics of food trucks, and won't bore
- 40:22you with that, but it is expensive for trucks to come very far to
- 40:25a festival. So we have lots of trucks that come here after year and
- 40:29they love it, but they can't come from three hundred four hundred miles away.
- 40:32It's just it doesn't make sense for them. And the other thing is
- 40:36there, as we like to say, there are a restaurant on wheels,
- 40:38not a fast food restaurant on wheels, So they don't they're not McDonald's on
- 40:42wheels. They don't have their stuff pre made and just hand it off.
- 40:44At least the majority of it is it are making it when that you place
- 40:47your order, So to be patient and enjoy the music and bring a blanket
- 40:52and you know, just play into a way. And I'm not trying to
- 40:54be negative because we want people there. I'm going to be there tomorrow,
- 40:57but we want to we want to make sure people realize you're gonna wait in
- 41:00line for a while because it's fresh food. You don't go to a restaurant
- 41:05and sit down and expect to have your unless it's McDonald's and weddies and they
- 41:08God bless those people. Lord knows, I eat enough of those least time.
- 41:12Let's say, having tried half those trucks, our patients will be rewarded.
- 41:15Yeah, you're you're going to wait because you're getting You don't get your
- 41:20food at a fine dining establishment in five minutes. If it is it's not
- 41:22a fine dining establishment, you're gonna you're gonna wait fifteen twenty minutes or more.
- 41:28And that's why you have all the other activities going on you. And
- 41:31then again, another great thing about the festival is that when you're there,
- 41:36even if you're in this about what the size of a football field pretty much
- 41:39all right, even when you're at the far end because of the you can
- 41:42still hear the music. So you're gonna be taking into music and everything while
- 41:45you're there. Uh, Evan, I know you got an event tomorrow too,
- 41:47and I want to I'm sorry tonight and I want to talk about that
- 41:51because your event sold out? Is there? So, like Ryan, my
- 41:54producer said, are you just coming to brag? Is that that way?
- 41:59But before? But but I'm gonna give your due time on yours as well.
- 42:01I want to talk about I want to talk about some of the food
- 42:04trucks. You said you've tried the majority of food trucks that are here,
- 42:07all right, what's your favorite. I'm not going to really put you on
- 42:10the spot. I will say that our good friend Stevie who is coming back
- 42:15to Gritz Farm the Gritz Farm truck. Granted, we really like Chritz Farm
- 42:21and Brad and all the work that they do. But no, they just
- 42:23they kill it every time. And they've they've got a good thing going.
- 42:28Uh you can't get more local than that. And uh, you know,
- 42:32lobster trappings, all kinds of stuff. Yeah, I mean it's a solid
- 42:37lineup. And I have to say about the folks a lobster trapping I have.
- 42:42I've heard a lot of good things about him. Unfortunately, believe it
- 42:44or not, there's one food item in the Canal Valley I've missed and I
- 42:46have not had lobster trapping. So I will be trying lobster trapping tomorrow.
- 42:51My brother gave it too thumbs up. Well it's good. If if John
- 42:55Ryan says it's good, it's good. It's good because I know your brother
- 42:59very well. Again, we're talking with Kelly Steele and from the Putnam Kenny
- 43:04CVB and also Evan Osmore and Kelly hang out with me one second because we're
- 43:07going to take a break, and then we're talking about Evans event which is
- 43:09happened to night at Capitol Market although it's sold out. He's just here to
- 43:13do a victory dance. But now we're to talking about some other things.
- 43:15Going on at Capital Market as well. You know, in the heart of
- 43:17West Virginia there exists a profound force that goes beyond the realm of sports,
- 43:21transcending limitations of fostering and sensi belonging. Special Olympics is what we're talking about.
- 43:25A remarkable initiative showcase in the latest episode of West Virginia Enrich in collaboration

- 48:19out there. Yeah, and that's what I was going to say. I
- 48:21mean spring is here. I mean it is Yep. We were rocking and
- 48:25rowing outside. We are completely full of this season. H you will notice
- 48:30it, Oliver. Vendor space is filled for spring. Just fantastic. Our
- 48:34growers have just knocked it out of the park this year. Uh, bringing
- 48:37a lot of new stuff, some things you've never seen before. UH,
- 48:40wide variety of colors. I can tell you that if you can't find it
- 48:45under there, you probably don't want it. We're talking again with that with
- 48:49Osborn for Capital Market Dave Valence showing five any live rightch you by Morgan to
- 48:52Morgan, America's largest injury law firm. And again Christmas season is huge at
- 48:58Capital Market. All the seasons are big, all and everything, but spraying
- 49:00it's just something a little bit different. Maybe it's in the psyche of individuals.
- 49:07The next three weeks will be the busiest all year at the market.
- 49:12Mother's Day for us is Black Friday. Traditionally we run around fifty thousand customers
- 49:17through the market in one weekend. So you know, as we all know,
- 49:23West Virginians love their mama. And you can see that on display in
- 49:28full effect Mother's Day weekend at Capital Mark. All right, and I'll probably
- 49:31have you on again before Mother's Day. But that's one of those big I
- 49:34mean again, like we were talking about how Christmas is big and Halloween all
- 49:37the Saint Patrick's Day. That's another big one for you. And it risk
- 49:39given too much away. We got two big announcements coming up next week.
- 49:44Okay, Well, I was gonna say you last time we were here,
- 49:45you teased a big announcement and so this is the teas that that was the
- 49:50teas of the teas and this is the teas we're really serious. Well you've
- 49:55already you kind of told us, Evan a little bit of it because you
- 49:59said that we're for the first time in a long time, we're going to
- 50:01having ten years first announcing a new tenant. A new tenant will be there
- 50:05inside the market. I mean, you could just tell us now, I
- 50:07mean, you got me and come come on this time. Wouldn't have a
- 50:10job next week, it's just between us. I mean, there's nobody listening,
- 50:13So come on, all right, we'll find out that what do people

- 50:22to share those of my social media. What do people need to know about
- 50:25the Food Truck Festival tomorrow when they come out? What's your what's your fact?
- 50:28Your frequently asked questions? Bring it, Bring a launchair or a blanket.
- 50:31There is some seating, but not a ton so you'll be most comfortable
- 50:35if you bring a chair, plan to wait in line, bring a buddy
- 50:37and like tag team, pick your pick your two trucks that you want to
- 50:40try and split the line in order for each other and the beer tent if
- 50:45you want crappyers cash only, we do recommend that you bring some cash,
- 50:49but most trucks do take cards, so bring cash as a backup, and
- 50:52bring cash if you want to be here. That's a very very good point
- 50:55because we are fastly becoming a cashless society. Not but I mean most normal
- 51:01people are. I'm still I still pay cash, but most of the trucks
- 51:06will will take cards, debit cards, whatever, credit, right, but
- 51:08just in case and sometimes sometimes things happen, that's right. You should always
- 51:12bring cash in an event like it, and for the beer you have to
- 51:15have cash, beer, bring some books and is it a like different craft
- 51:19beers and things like that? What you said? Okay, all right,
- 51:21we got it coming. So and the weather is going to be great,
- 51:24so good. I'm so excited. It was cold last year. This year
- 51:27is going to be perfect. Yeah. Now you your your stuff is primarily
- 51:30outside. I guess tonight, right, it's all all outside. Yeah.

- 51:35bit chilly, but not not horrible. I mean, right, it's tornado,
- 51:39that's true. What kind of day? I think I asked you that
- 51:42last time year, But what kind of damage you guys have from We'll wrap
- 51:45it up with you know, all things been equal, we were great.
- 51:49That's the great thing about being in a one hundred year old train depot.
- 51:52Yeah, we've seen some things, but well, it's like this building here.
- 51:54I mean I felt I was I was here when the tornado rolled to
- 51:57Trowth. I felt perfectly safe in this building because I I and this building
