- 0:00SPEAKER_02: Everyone I don't want to hear I don't want to uh I don't wanted to let you know that about half the two-thirds of this episode does have a good amount of abstorction in it from our recording software.
- 0:10SPEAKER_02: We're gonna fix it next time.
- 0:12SPEAKER_02: Um, but just wanna let you all know.
- 0:13SPEAKER_02: But the back half is uh uh pretty much good to go.
- 0:16SPEAKER_02: So just wanted to let you know and enjoy the QA.
- 0:21SPEAKER_10: So my question is, Cena, lately we have been exposed to a lot of dust and smoke and just the standard uh summer poisons here in the Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska.
- 0:37SPEAKER_10: And I wondered what you would do to detoxify.
- 0:41SPEAKER_10: And Joel, I wondered what you would do, uh, if anything, with ponds or with trees, how you would uh manage things differently with the way the dust is all forming in everyone's fields because everyone's cutting down every last tree.
- 0:56SPEAKER_08: Joel, do you want to start?
- 0:58SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I can start there.
- 1:00SPEAKER_08: So uh I'm a pretty firm believer.
- 1:02SPEAKER_08: Uh again, I hate to just do uh uh recipes, but sometimes that's the easiest way to make a point.
- 1:16SPEAKER_08: And so uh I I think generally every single farm needs to be 25% trees.
- 1:24SPEAKER_08: So if you have a hundred acres, you have twenty-five acres of trees.
- 1:26SPEAKER_08: If you have two hundred acres, fifty acres of trees.
- 1:29SPEAKER_08: In general, in general, those trees are are going to define they're also gonna be along riparian edges, they're gonna uh which includes ponds, creeks, rivers, they're gonna be on uh on major breakpoints from I realize Kansas and Nebraska, you don't have steep hills like like we do in our area, but but you create them.
- 1:54SPEAKER_08: I mean you've heard of shelter belts.
- 1:56SPEAKER_08: Um shelter belts were real and they work.
- 1:59SPEAKER_08: And and you can you can stop those winds.
- 2:02SPEAKER_08: Um I mean there's a there's a permaculture formula for you know for the the the height of the tree and how far out in the field it affects the wind, but it's it's pretty basically so what you do is rather than having your hundred acres and twenty-five acres over on the edge, you actually create a a um uh a waffle.
- 2:24SPEAKER_08: You create a think of your trees as the ridges of a waffle.
- 2:28SPEAKER_08: Um this is easy in Kansas and Nebraska because everything is square, unlike where we are.
- 2:33SPEAKER_08: And so you can think in terms of a waffle, and and what that what that does is it breaks up all that air drift, and the trees become become traps.
- 2:43SPEAKER_08: They become dust traps, uh, not only for for stuff moving off of you, but stuff coming onto you.
- 2:51SPEAKER_08: And so um you know great because what your your your assumption is that biology biology can be your best protection.
- 3:01SPEAKER_08: And I would just say beyond biology, then vegetation becomes your next your next best protection.
- 3:07SPEAKER_08: So that's the way I would um Okay, I love that.
- 3:17SPEAKER_06: So I'll just chime in piggyback on that.
- 3:20SPEAKER_06: So um Oh, is somebody let me ask.
- 3:26SPEAKER_06: Can everybody if can you mute if you're not if you're not actively talking?
- 3:31SPEAKER_08: Um I hear somebody doing dishes.
- 3:35SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 3:37SPEAKER_06: Um okay, Chris, where'd you go?
- 3:39SPEAKER_06: Okay, there's Chris.
- 3:40SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 3:40SPEAKER_06: So yes, so um just I'll just run through a couple things um that came to my mind.
- 3:46SPEAKER_06: So one is oh okay, there you are.
- 3:48SPEAKER_06: One is um to have I like to have plants inside.
- 3:53SPEAKER_06: So like how Joel was talking about the plants outside.
- 3:55SPEAKER_06: I like to have plants inside as filters, and then also to have a like some high-grade HEPA filter in inside the house, particularly where you're sleeping.
- 4:04SPEAKER_06: Do you have that already?
- 4:07SPEAKER_10: When the Oklahoma dust, along with the fires there in Missouri, Arkansas border came up from the south, it was it was literally like the dust bowl.
- 4:17SPEAKER_10: Uh and so I've thought about getting one of those filters.
- 4:19SPEAKER_10: But like I say, this is I've lived here my whole life, and this is the worst I've probably ever seen it.
- 4:25SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 4:25SPEAKER_06: Okay, so I would definitely, if it was me, I'd get a the high-quality HEPA filter, and particularly in the rooms where anybody sleeps at night because you're spending so much time there.
- 4:35SPEAKER_06: Um, hydration again is key.
- 4:38SPEAKER_06: Lots of water, uh, even electrolytes at this point can help.
- 4:42SPEAKER_06: Um, I like to add things in like herbal teas.
- 4:45SPEAKER_06: There's, you know, you can have like some anti-inflammatory teas, some soothing teas, like, you know, chamomile, um, ginger, some turmeric tea.
- 4:54SPEAKER_06: Um, steam inhalation can actually really help.
- 4:57SPEAKER_06: Whether it's from you know, like a bowl of hot water, you could put some um essential oils in there, a drop of essential oil in your shower, and the steam comes up and it can help with the lungs.
- 5:09SPEAKER_06: Things like um like eucalyptus, um, a peppermint oil could be a good one.
- 5:14SPEAKER_06: Um also doing like deep breathing, belly breath exercises.
- 5:19SPEAKER_06: And what I like to do is I like to put, you know, you have like diluted essential oil, and you can put it under your nose, and as you're doing the deep breathing exercises, that will actually get down there into the lungs.
- 5:30SPEAKER_06: Um, if you're having um, I like slippery elm as well.
- 5:35SPEAKER_06: If you're having coughing issues, you can actually consume slippery elm and it can help um, you know, get some of that up.
- 5:43SPEAKER_06: Of course, consuming antioxidants uh is always one of the top keys for trying to filter things.
- 5:50SPEAKER_06: Um, spices like turmeric.
- 5:52SPEAKER_06: If it's really bad, I would take a turmeric supplement, the whole, a whole turmeric supplement, and and then moving your body.
- 5:59SPEAKER_06: What sweat.
- 6:01SPEAKER_06: Yes, the the sweat.
- 6:03SPEAKER_06: Yep, sweat.
- 6:04SPEAKER_06: And um, and if if it's really bad outside, uh even though you know my preference is to be outside sweating in the sun, but if it's really bad outside, sweat inside with the HEPA filter on.
- 6:15SPEAKER_06: Um, and you could even do like the Epson salt baths to help to start detoxing and get it as warm as you can tolerate, and that that will help you sweat as well.
- 6:27SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 6:28SPEAKER_06: Okay, yay.
- 6:29SPEAKER_06: Okay, so now I'm gonna go back to the chat box.
- 6:31SPEAKER_06: Oh, another one for me.
- 6:33SPEAKER_06: Wow, this is like my day, Joel.
- 6:36SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 6:38SPEAKER_06: Okay, Dr.
- 6:38SPEAKER_06: Cena, how would one go about starting the process of reversing asthma?
- 6:43SPEAKER_06: Mine has been getting steadily worse the last six months.
- 6:45SPEAKER_06: Oh, okay, so this is from Tracy.
- 6:47SPEAKER_06: Hi, Tracy and Indiana.
- 6:49SPEAKER_06: Um, so the process of, I don't know if this is gonna be a surprise or not.
- 7:03SPEAKER_06: To our listeners.
- 7:04SPEAKER_06: But the process of reversing chronic and autoimmune conditions, including asthma, the the um roadmap is all the same.
- 7:13SPEAKER_06: It's actually the same for every single one of these conditions.
- 7:16SPEAKER_06: Your triggers are unique to you, but the stops along the roadmap are are absolutely the same stops.
- 7:23SPEAKER_06: Okay, so um again, we're going, we're back to the onion where you've got to figure out your different physical triggers.
- 7:30SPEAKER_06: And one of them is gonna and nobody has just one trigger.
- 7:35SPEAKER_06: All right, so there's always a combination of triggers, and the goal in trying to reverse any of these conditions is to find as many triggers as possible because those are pieces of your story, and to address um and remedy those triggers.
- 7:52SPEAKER_06: One trigger is food, right?
- 7:54SPEAKER_06: A food is a trigger for everybody, everybody has something that they're sensitive or allergic to.
- 8:00SPEAKER_06: Um, another physical trigger is EMF exposure.
- 8:05SPEAKER_06: Okay, we all are on a continuum of um sensitivity to all of these different triggers.
- 8:11SPEAKER_06: So some someone like myself is going to be more sensitive to EMFs than somebody else, but everybody's affected by them.
- 8:16SPEAKER_06: And Joel, now that we did that podcast on light, doesn't that make more sense as to why everyone is affected?
- 8:22SPEAKER_06: So you got EMFs as a trigger to look for.
- 8:25SPEAKER_06: You have um two triggers that we commonly see are heavy metal toxicity and mold toxicity.
- 8:33SPEAKER_06: So we'll be doing a deep dive into mold.
- 8:35SPEAKER_06: It's very, very common.
- 8:37SPEAKER_06: I see it a lot in clients.
- 8:40SPEAKER_06: Um, it's just not easily detected.
- 8:43SPEAKER_06: So those are also nutrient deficiencies, um, are also a big trigger.
- 8:49SPEAKER_06: Um, and but again, the biggest root cause, the biggest trigger and the root cause of this is all going to be on this emotional level.
- 8:57SPEAKER_06: So um at this point I'm thinking, would it be helpful if we did do a podcast walking you through all the steps of how to reverse chronic and autoimmune diseases?
- 9:06SPEAKER_06: Like maybe just show a hand or just do you do you want us to do that?
- 9:11SPEAKER_06: Yeah?
- 9:11SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 9:12SPEAKER_06: Okay, so we'll we'll do a show and we'll walk you through all that and how to find find triggers.
- 9:17SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 9:17SPEAKER_06: So let's bounce back over here to Joshua Deck.
- 9:20SPEAKER_06: Go ahead, Joshua.
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: Hi, Tina and um Joel.
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: This is actually kind of a two-part question for both of you, and it's mainly regarding I love your love your background there, Joshua.
- 9:29SPEAKER_08: Right?
- 9:30SPEAKER_08: Oh, yeah, this is my own.
- 9:31SPEAKER_08: Is that real or is that just a picture?
- 9:33SPEAKER_08: Well, it's a picture I took.
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: It's a picture I took, so it's actually where I grazed my cattle in the summer.
- 9:40SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: But I I wanted to ask about ticks and tick control.
- 9:46SPEAKER_00: I mean, we do things around here, like we have guineas, and um I do some sprays from uh Dr.
- 9:51SPEAKER_00: Sarah Herbal.
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: I just didn't know, Joel, what you do for tick control.
- 9:55SPEAKER_00: And then kind of the next part of it was um with Alpha Gal.
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: I mean, seeing it something that we really need to be concerned about.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: I mean, if we're like if we're eating meat and consuming milk from our own animals that are getting bit by the ticks, uh is that helpful or harmful?
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: What are your thoughts on that?
- 10:16SPEAKER_08: Yeah, well, uh, in in general, I think that these things are uh are symptomatic of you know a uh uh an ecosystem breakdown and um and so you know on our farm, I I can tell you for a fact we have uh one one percent of the ticks that everybody around us has because of our eggmobiles.
- 10:47SPEAKER_08: Um those egg the the chickens free range out from those eggmobiles.
- 10:51SPEAKER_08: I think we haven't yet even you know, people talk about the bison all the time, pre, you know, uh pre uh early America, bison, bison, bison, but they don't realize the number of birds that were here.
- 11:04SPEAKER_08: Audubon recorded in his diary that uh he couldn't see the sun for three days for the flock of passenger pigeons that flew over.
- 11:13SPEAKER_08: There was there was more bird weight.
- 11:15SPEAKER_08: Think about this.
- 11:16SPEAKER_08: There was more bird weight in America 500 years ago than there is chicken weight in all the factory farms combined in America today.
- 11:25SPEAKER_08: I mean, that should give everybody pause that we're overpopulated, undersupplied, and we all have to, you know, um, you know, the Bill Gates, two-thirds of us need to all be killed in order for the human population to survive.
- 11:40SPEAKER_08: So um I I I think all of these things are symptomatic of an incomplete biology, biological system.
- 11:50SPEAKER_08: And um and so I'm a huge believer in in uh these in these range ranged chickens uh being able to and and and then you can encourage a wildlife too.
- 12:02SPEAKER_08: For example, uh for example, one of the reasons that we planted uh trees within within 200 yards of every oak land is because trees provide cover for birds that are of the natural insecticide.
- 12:20SPEAKER_08: So all of these, a lot of these birds from cockaded, you know, cockaded woodpeckers to um then of course you've got your field birds, your pasture birds, all this, but all of these birds um don't like to get more than 200 yards away from cover.
- 12:37SPEAKER_08: And so trees provide that cover.
- 12:39SPEAKER_08: So so these edges, these field edges, these edges, whatever, uh uh out of control, you know, uh, you know, wilding, wilding these edges uh creates a lot of habitat for birds that are gonna come out and eat eat the eat the ticks.
- 12:54SPEAKER_08: So um now, as far as the uh the other issue, um the eating the meat, you know, I I I don't know much.
- 13:04SPEAKER_08: But Cena might know a lot more about that than I do.
- 13:06SPEAKER_08: We've had a couple of customers that we've heard this from.
- 13:10SPEAKER_08: They didn't, I mean, they didn't get it from our meat for sure, but this this tick thing, I've certainly met some people that have had it.
- 13:18SPEAKER_08: And um and I I'm not sure what to think about that, to be honest with you.
- 13:23SPEAKER_08: I just I'm not sure what to think.
- 13:24SPEAKER_08: Maybe Cena can add something that the alpha gal, this where you where you're alert you're allergic, like you can only eat I don't know what, uh you can only eat chicken and fish or some such thing.
- 13:35SPEAKER_08: It's it's really uh really debilitating.
- 13:37SPEAKER_00: I think it's uh yeah, I guess meat.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: Um I mean and I guess it's kind of my and it's just a theory.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: I don't I have I have no proof or anything, or or more so a thought, I guess, not even a theory, but you know, if if we're living in the same ink ecosystem with these animals, you know, we're potentially getting bit by the same ticks that they are, you know, we're part of it, you know, maybe it would have less effect.
- 13:59SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: It's just but you know, I I do know of people that have suffered from this and they can't have any dairy products or any red meat, you know, or else they they have they have issues.
- 14:11SPEAKER_08: So it's it's it's basically no er no herbivore.
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 14:15SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 14:16SPEAKER_08: Cena, are you up on uh alpha gal?
- 14:20SPEAKER_06: Yeah, so Joel, I don't know if you remember, but years ago you and I wrote an article together about it.
- 14:27SPEAKER_06: Like this is before we had the podcast, it was after we wrote the book.
- 14:31SPEAKER_06: So yeah, so I done some research into it, and actually um I worked with somebody who had um alpha galc.
- 14:39SPEAKER_06: Basically, we reversed it.
- 14:40SPEAKER_06: So I am I am a believer that all of these conditions are reversible, and the way that I see things, uh all of these conditions, um okay, so let me back up just for a second.
- 14:54SPEAKER_06: What we're starting to understand, and what I remember I told Joel this a like years ago, is that chronic diseases are starting to be renamed as autoimmes.
- 15:06SPEAKER_06: So they're and this is from a scientific perspective, right?
- 15:10SPEAKER_06: So they're shifting how they are labeling it.
- 15:13SPEAKER_06: And so um, so then I started to think of all these conditions as um self-not like yourself not identifying yourself, right?
- 15:22SPEAKER_06: So in autoimmune, they say that it's the body attacking itself, which I don't I don't like that terminology.
- 15:28SPEAKER_06: It sets you up to be opposed to your own body um instead of in tune and in rhythm with it.
- 15:34SPEAKER_06: But if you can understand that thinking, it's really the body not recognizing itself.
- 15:40SPEAKER_06: And um if you take that onto uh an emotional level, autoimmune means to deny yourself.
- 15:48SPEAKER_06: So to deny oneself.
- 15:50SPEAKER_06: And so it comes back to that energetic level that you can reverse actually all of these conditions um by by uh basically learning to love yourself.
- 16:05SPEAKER_06: And I know that sounds like kind of quirky, but we can we can talk about it in greater length to get you to that space.
- 16:12SPEAKER_06: But but that's what happens when you have like um a lot of times we'll have spontaneous remissions, right?
- 16:18SPEAKER_06: These spontaneous healings.
- 16:20SPEAKER_06: And if you think about those, there's a lot of them in the medical literature, and they're based on usually um an a large act of forgiveness.
- 16:29SPEAKER_06: So s somebody relieving themselves of these burden that they're carrying.
- 16:35SPEAKER_06: And um, usually when you haven't forgiven somebody, it's a result of of fear.
- 16:42SPEAKER_06: So oh my god.
- 16:44SPEAKER_06: Yeah, rage.
- 16:46SPEAKER_06: So um, so basically, um if if you can get to that place where you can forgive, you can hand those things, those burdens back over to God, right?
- 16:59SPEAKER_06: Um, instead of separating from yourself.
- 17:01SPEAKER_06: Um, it's kind of like you compartmentalize yourself.
- 17:04SPEAKER_06: You carry around this anger, um, you know, the rage, the the fear, you carry this around, and um, you're not wanting to face it.
- 17:12SPEAKER_06: So we do a lot of things in our life to distract us from facing the reality of the of the situation that we have created for ourselves.
- 17:21SPEAKER_06: For instance, social media, email.
- 17:24SPEAKER_06: I do work.
- 17:25SPEAKER_06: Work is my way to be a distra to have a distraction, you know.
- 17:28SPEAKER_06: So we try to escape from these emotional tigers, but they're there all the time.
- 17:34SPEAKER_06: Still, they are an energetic imprint in your field.
- 17:36SPEAKER_06: And so it builds the body of fear, right?
- 17:40SPEAKER_06: It sends the message of fear to the body, and so you can think of fight or flight, cortisol.
- 17:46SPEAKER_06: This is the body that you are building 24 hours a day when you hold on to these what we call low vibrational frequency um emotions like fear.
- 17:56SPEAKER_06: If if because just oh go ahead.
- 17:59SPEAKER_08: Well, all all of us are uh all of us are escape artists, aren't we?
- 18:04SPEAKER_08: We we we love escapism.
- 18:06SPEAKER_08: And and you can you can even do, you know, righteous sacred things.
- 18:10SPEAKER_08: You can you can say, Well, uh, you know, my my work or my mission is so important and it it can actually become an escapism to some underlying um deeply held sense of of of being wronged, um anger, vengeance, guilt, shame.
- 18:32SPEAKER_08: And and we and we can and we can escape we can escape that in in a noble in actual noble ministry.
- 18:40SPEAKER_08: Um you know, this is this is then and th and and we we get ourselves.
- 18:45SPEAKER_08: I think I think um one of the one of the things that we can all I think be more intentional about is actually well, you know, uh um you know King King David in the Psalms search me, O God, and know my heart, try me and know my thoughts.
- 19:04SPEAKER_08: See if there be any wicked way in me, lead me in the way everlasting.
- 19:08SPEAKER_08: And um and I think I think that this getting alone, and this is why one of the reasons they say, you know, um geniuses spend a lot of time alone and and and walking alone.
- 19:23SPEAKER_08: Um I find that for me being alone outside doing things, um, or you're you're with yourself gives you a time to reflect so that you have you have insights for yourself.
- 19:43SPEAKER_08: I'm not talking about insights to the into the filter or to the you know other things, but you know, to yourself that you might not that we love we love busyness.
- 19:53SPEAKER_08: Um uh the the blessed earth guy uh Matthew Dr.
- 19:57SPEAKER_08: Matthew Sleet um talks about in Job um that uh Satan was uh walking to and fro upon the earth before before his encounter with God and then with Job, and before God said, okay, you can you can touch Job, you can have him for a while.
- 20:14SPEAKER_08: And and and uh Satan was walking to and fro on the earth.
- 20:18SPEAKER_08: The the point is he was busy.
- 20:20SPEAKER_08: And busyness, busyness can easily become emotional escapism.
- 20:26SPEAKER_08: And uh maybe just going farther than we want to go right now, but uh these are yeah, these are these are big things.
- 20:35SPEAKER_06: So you're spot on, and I'll piggyback onto that.
- 20:39SPEAKER_06: So you just made my point because if you if we if we keep ourselves and we all do it, right?
- 20:46SPEAKER_06: I do it too.
- 20:47SPEAKER_06: If we keep ourselves busy, um if you are denying that part of you, that's filth outright, for example, or that's filth wrong, for example.
- 20:59SPEAKER_06: And so that is a cult of filth.
- 21:09SPEAKER_06: And so it's called attack that's forests.
- 21:13SPEAKER_06: It's a physical of the physical effect.
- 21:23SPEAKER_06: So uh if a stop define that, I think that's the act of the process that is back to the act of facility of the head through the act of forgiveness, right?
- 21:48SPEAKER_06: So all of that is reversible.
- 22:00SPEAKER_06: To reverse a condition, and whatever the condition is, it it involves a lot, right?
- 22:06SPEAKER_06: There's a lot of steps involved.
- 22:08SPEAKER_06: It took you your whole life, in essence, to get to this point.
- 22:11SPEAKER_06: And so I don't want it to be just like, oh, like, oh, you can do this one thing, and then you'll you're gonna be fully healed.
- 22:20SPEAKER_06: A lot of times, um, so there's multiple triggers, um, but they're in a hierarchy.
- 22:26SPEAKER_06: So everybody has triggers, but not everybody has physical symptoms that have manifested, right?
- 22:33SPEAKER_06: So you're usually one trigger that has just pushed you over that edge.
- 22:38SPEAKER_06: And so we we find it.
- 22:40SPEAKER_06: And and so for instance, I had somebody, um, speaking of light, I had a client who changed nothing, like she didn't change her diet or anything like that, but she worked on forgiveness and she went outside every morning and every night, and then you know, to be in the sun, and she exercised midday in the sun, and she reversed all her food sensitivities and the autoimmune condition that she had, right?
- 23:06SPEAKER_06: So she she did light and forgiveness together.
- 23:10SPEAKER_06: So everybody has their own puzzle, uh, you know, their own like puzzle to that you can figure out.
- 23:17SPEAKER_06: Um, you know, so so anyway, it's individualized, but you can actually reverse all of these conditions.
- 23:23SPEAKER_06: And Alpha Gal was reminding me of the um emotional connection where autoimmune is to deny oneself because this is what we see in Alpha Gal.
- 23:34SPEAKER_06: So once I helped that client stop denying the self, that's actually the only thing she did.
- 23:44SPEAKER_06: She she actually stopped, um, she went through and did this forgiveness practice.
- 23:49SPEAKER_06: Um, and we cleared basically these energetic imprints in her biofield.
- 23:54SPEAKER_06: And once you clear those, you can replace them with the fruits of the spirit.
- 23:58SPEAKER_06: That sends an entirely different message to the body.
- 24:01SPEAKER_06: It's not a message of fear.
- 24:03SPEAKER_06: So the body is not built out of fear anymore, like high levels of cortisol um and like inflammatory genes being um transcribed and translated.
- 24:13SPEAKER_06: Instead, if you have fruits of the spirit, you know, in in your biofield, you're building a body out of gratitude and love, which is going to be chemically very different than a body that's built out of fear.
- 24:25SPEAKER_06: Okay, so let's go to Joel.
- 24:27SPEAKER_08: Oh, go ahead, Joel.
- 24:28SPEAKER_08: So Cena, you know, confession is good for the soul.
- 24:32SPEAKER_08: So, so um one of one of I'm just letting you know, one of my triggers, I I yeah, this is partly funny, partly serious.
- 24:39SPEAKER_08: Uh, I've decided that one of my triggers is bureaucrats.
- 24:43SPEAKER_08: And so I so it's very easy for me to to get totally frustrated and off the wall.
- 24:50SPEAKER_08: I mean, lose it, lose it with bureaucracy.
- 24:54SPEAKER_08: And and and so, you know, you you have to you have to intentionally, you know, um let it go.
- 25:02SPEAKER_08: I mean, at some point, yeah, you have to you have to just let that go.
- 25:07SPEAKER_08: It is what it is, um, and you both you go forward in faith and and you just go forward in faith.
- 25:14SPEAKER_08: And um I'm I'm I'm writing our spring newsletter right now, and I'm leading with bird flu, you know, and and and talking about all this.
- 25:23SPEAKER_08: And um yeah, you know, aren't aren't we constantly dealing with our own pressure cooker, our own pressure canner internal of stuff, whether it's spousal or business or cultural or government or regulatory.
- 25:39SPEAKER_08: Um, and and and and it can be why won't my alpha gal stop?
- 25:44SPEAKER_08: It can be that.
- 25:46SPEAKER_08: And and so, yeah, good, good stuff.
- 25:48SPEAKER_08: All right, go on to the next one.
- 25:50SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yes.
- 25:51SPEAKER_06: Okay, for Joel, we have a new property and a new garden area.
- 25:55SPEAKER_06: There are some old bushes.
- 25:57SPEAKER_06: Oh, by the way, this is from Willow Anderson.
- 26:00SPEAKER_06: Sorry.
- 26:01SPEAKER_06: There are some old bushes with burrs on the garden space.
- 26:05SPEAKER_06: Can I build the garden bed over the burr bushes or do I need to do something else to get rid of these old dead burr sticks?
- 26:13SPEAKER_06: Can I do the oh, it's that word, Hugo culture?
- 26:18SPEAKER_06: Hugo culture.
- 26:20unknown: Okay.
- 26:21SPEAKER_06: Thanks, Wellow.
- 26:23SPEAKER_06: Can I do that right over the burrs?
- 26:27SPEAKER_08: Uh so are the are these how big are these bushes?
- 26:32SPEAKER_03: It it's not big, it's just the dog keeps getting in them.
- 26:37SPEAKER_03: I don't want to carry them, I have to burn them.
- 26:41SPEAKER_03: Can I just put it right over or do I need to burn it?
- 26:44SPEAKER_08: Um if you if you cover them up with cardboard, about two or three strips of uh layers of cardboard, just old junk cardboard boxes cut them up, and then and then put your hoogle colour, put your boards, put your lumber on top of the cardboard.
- 27:03SPEAKER_03: There's a little bit more than that.
- 27:05SPEAKER_03: It's probably about a foot high at the highest part point.
- 27:08SPEAKER_03: So still just the cardboard right over it.
- 27:11SPEAKER_08: Well, I mean, can you can you can you mash the plants over?
- 27:15SPEAKER_08: Can you mash the plants over with cardboard?
- 27:17SPEAKER_08: Probably.
- 27:18SPEAKER_03: It's just I haven't wanted to like get burrs on me, so I haven't done it.
- 27:22SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 27:23SPEAKER_08: Well, look, if they're mashable, all right.
- 27:25SPEAKER_08: If you know, if they're not real um um woody, woody, so they're they're mashable, you know, kind of like they're they're just a um uh just like a plant.
- 27:37SPEAKER_08: Kind of a kind of a stiff weed.
- 27:40SPEAKER_08: Um so if they're mashable, just just um yeah, put your put your your bed frame up, your your um your garden bed frame, not your sleeping bed frame, your garden bed frame up and uh and then just layer uh two or three layers of of of compost up uh cardboard in there, and then and then just start start putting your your wood on top, mash it down, yeah, you'll be fine.
- 28:10SPEAKER_08: Okay, so they won't regrow or anything like that.
- 28:13SPEAKER_08: Uh no, I don't know.
- 28:14SPEAKER_08: I don't that's what the cardboard's for.
- 28:17SPEAKER_08: The cardboard will take the cardboard will take some time to break down.
- 28:20SPEAKER_08: I mean like time like a couple of years, and by a couple of years, you're gonna so change that whole that whole uh underlying ecology, right?
- 28:30SPEAKER_08: Whatever making those um bushes, you know, uh grow is gonna stop.
- 28:36SPEAKER_03: Okay, great.
- 28:37SPEAKER_03: Thank you so much.
- 28:38SPEAKER_03: And you're not worried about anything in the cardboard getting into the soil?
- 28:42SPEAKER_08: No, no, don't throw out the baby with the bath water.
- 28:45SPEAKER_03: Well, that's what I've been yeah, no, I just have been one more.
- 28:48SPEAKER_08: Card's gonna be way how how high are your beds?
- 28:52SPEAKER_08: Two feet?
- 28:53SPEAKER_03: I was gonna make them the nice like two, three feet.
- 28:56SPEAKER_08: Yeah, uh, ours are 30 inches.
- 28:59SPEAKER_08: Yeah, you're not you're not gonna have any roots down that deep for a long, long time.
- 29:03SPEAKER_03: Okay, awesome.
- 29:04SPEAKER_06: Thank you so much.
- 29:06SPEAKER_06: Awesome.
- 29:07SPEAKER_06: Great, great question, Willow.
- 29:08SPEAKER_06: Okay, right before we jump here, I want to say that we've already picked the date for the next QA in case anyone's interested.
- 29:15SPEAKER_06: Joel's schedule is packed in April, so I was lucky to squeeze into it.
- 29:21SPEAKER_06: So our next QA is actually Monday, April 21st.
- 29:26SPEAKER_06: So the day after Easter, and we're trying a new time at noon.
- 29:31SPEAKER_06: So it's gonna be at noon Eastern time on Monday, April 21st.
- 29:36SPEAKER_06: Okay, so um, let's go to Stephanie.
- 29:38SPEAKER_06: Stephanie, you've had your hand raised.
- 29:40SPEAKER_01: Okay, I have a short question for you, Dr.
- 29:42SPEAKER_01: Cena and Joel.
- 29:43SPEAKER_01: Um, first, where are you sourcing your tiger nut flour?
- 29:46SPEAKER_01: Um, so you stop carrying it on Friday Market and your palm shortening because I really want to make your cookies on your blog.
- 29:53SPEAKER_01: Um, and then for Joel, do you ever have trouble with parasitic worms in your flock?
- 29:57SPEAKER_01: And if so, what do you do about it, even when they're on pasture?
- 30:03SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 30:04SPEAKER_08: See uh Cena, you want to go first?
- 30:07SPEAKER_06: Okay, okay, so um, Stephanie, which by the way, I actually can't remember your name because my sister's name is Stephanie.
- 30:13SPEAKER_06: Like I'm not a name person, but okay, so um, would you be okay if in Discord I send you a link to where I get them?
- 30:21SPEAKER_06: Okay, because my husband sources the ingredients for me.
- 30:26SPEAKER_06: And oh, where'd you go?
- 30:27SPEAKER_06: Are you uh okay, there you are.
- 30:29SPEAKER_06: Okay, it just switched people.
- 30:31SPEAKER_06: So um my husband sort of I tell my husband what ingredients I want, and he's so frugal that he goes and sources them.
- 30:39SPEAKER_06: So and I know that we just lost Thrive for Tiger Nut.
- 30:43SPEAKER_06: So he did find it someplace else, actually.
- 30:46SPEAKER_06: Um, so I will ask him and then I'll send the links in the Discord.
- 30:51SPEAKER_06: I mean, I'm already really liking this Discord thing, like this is so convenient.
- 30:55SPEAKER_06: So um, so so I'll do that, um Stephanie.
- 30:58SPEAKER_06: I wrote it down my calendar so I don't forget.
- 31:00SPEAKER_04: Thank you.
- 31:01SPEAKER_04: Thank you.
- 31:01SPEAKER_06: And are you talking about the um the ginger stamp cookies?
- 31:05SPEAKER_06: Yes.
- 31:05SPEAKER_06: Oh, okay, yeah, those are some of my favorites.
- 31:07SPEAKER_06: Now, in my recipe, I add a lot of ginger and molasses to them because my gastrointestinal tract likes that.
- 31:15SPEAKER_06: So if you don't, it's but they're really strong, you know.
- 31:19SPEAKER_06: So if you don't like it that strong, just ease back on it, you know.
- 31:22SPEAKER_06: And I don't put as much sugar in it as other people do either.
- 31:24SPEAKER_06: So you might want to play around with it.
- 31:26SPEAKER_06: Like if you have kids, you might want to roll them in maple sugar to, you know, so they can transition to the lower sugar content.
- 31:33SPEAKER_06: Um, but my kids have transitioned and they they love them.
- 31:35SPEAKER_06: So I can't wait to hear what you think.
- 31:37SPEAKER_01: Great, thank you.
- 31:38SPEAKER_08: Okay, Joel, do you want to go ahead?
- 31:40SPEAKER_08: On the on the chick chickens and parasites or chickens and worms.
- 31:44SPEAKER_08: Um so you can you can put a little bit of diatomaceous earth in the chicken feed.
- 31:53SPEAKER_08: Uh that that is uh is a desiccant for aqueous internal parasites.
- 31:59SPEAKER_08: Most parasites in in the gastrointestinal tract are aqueous.
- 32:06SPEAKER_08: In other words, they don't have a they don't have a hard skin.
- 32:09SPEAKER_08: And so the diatoms from diatomaceous earth will um you know will actually puncture those aqueous uh things.
- 32:17SPEAKER_08: But the main thing, the main thing is either clean ground, you know, keep them moving.
- 32:23SPEAKER_08: I mean, and this I this is a soapbox I get on.
- 32:26SPEAKER_08: I way too many small holders, homesteaders have dirt chicken yards and they're not moving their chickens around, and they're filthier than a Tyson chicken house.
- 32:38SPEAKER_08: So you you either have to move them like daily or every other day, or put them on a deep bedding compost, the carbonaceous diaper.
- 32:50SPEAKER_08: I've talked about that numerous times.
- 32:53SPEAKER_08: Uh and and um so you either have to have a vibrantly decomposing, deep, deep, like at least over 12 inches bedding pack in a stationary situation, preferably 18 to 24 to 36 inches deep, or um that that's the stationary situation, or you go to the um, you know, to the to the outside in the pasture and you're moving them.
- 33:20SPEAKER_08: Um you didn't ask about mites and things.
- 33:23SPEAKER_08: We use wood ashes, and uh, I don't know if that actually helps.
- 33:27SPEAKER_08: Uh I'm just thinking overall health.
- 33:29SPEAKER_08: Uh you you can you can take one of these uh black rubber tubs and put one third sand, one third dirt, and one third wood ashes in there, and that creates a wonderful um uh fluff for the chickens, you know, a dust bath, and they'll get in there and dustbathe, and that'll help them to stay um, you know, just to stay good from from external parasites.
- 33:57SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 33:57SPEAKER_01: All right, thank you so much.
- 34:00unknown: Oh wow.
- 34:01SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 34:02SPEAKER_06: Um here's a question for Joel, and then we're gonna go over to Pamela.
- 34:06SPEAKER_06: Joel, this is from oh wait, well, it's from Doug.
- 34:10SPEAKER_06: It was direct, okay.
- 34:11SPEAKER_06: It's for you.
- 34:12SPEAKER_06: It was direct message to me, but it's from Doug.
- 34:14SPEAKER_06: What is the maximum effective egg-laying age of heritage chickens?
- 34:19SPEAKER_06: Our small flock of regeneratively erased chickens are about 3.5 years old, and we are down to about 25% daily egg production rate.
- 34:29SPEAKER_06: Is it probably age-related, or might I be doing something else wrong?
- 34:33SPEAKER_08: Oh, good question.
- 34:35SPEAKER_08: This is another one of my soapboxes.
- 34:38SPEAKER_08: Just recently, a new soapbox, because we're finding bird flu in backyard flocks, and it bothers me.
- 34:44SPEAKER_08: It really bothers me.
- 34:46SPEAKER_08: And and what I believe is the what the biggest reason we're finding so much bird flu in backyard flocks is too many people are running geriatric, geriatric chicken flocks because they're pets.
- 34:59SPEAKER_08: You know, we name them Matilda and Priscilla and you know, uh, Cinderella and whatever.
- 35:05SPEAKER_08: And so we've got, you know, six, seven, eight-year-old chickens.
- 35:08SPEAKER_08: And so when your chicken gets into its fourth year of life, okay, so that would be, you know, if if that chicken's been laying for three, three and a half years, um, you want to um you want to get rid of that chicken.
- 35:26SPEAKER_08: Uh, we don't we don't want geriatric chickens.
- 35:29SPEAKER_08: Chickens don't live that long and they don't live healthily that long.
- 35:32SPEAKER_08: So let's let's get rid of these chickens that are four years old and get them in a stew pot.
- 35:37SPEAKER_08: Yes, uh chickens, chickens generally they only lay well for about two years.
- 35:44SPEAKER_08: So I'm I'm giving you I'm giving you a whole nother year on your ladies to give you another year into the third year.
- 35:51SPEAKER_08: By the time they hit the fourth year, they need to go into stew pot.
- 35:54SPEAKER_09: I hear you.
- 35:54SPEAKER_09: Thank you, thank you, but uh, you're not married to my wife, so that's my challenge.
- 35:59SPEAKER_09: There is no stew pot.
- 36:01SPEAKER_09: I I always say it's the chicken soup.
- 36:02SPEAKER_08: Uh oh man.
- 36:05SPEAKER_08: Well, I'll tell I I let me just let me just tell you uh that that puts you in a in a collision course of susceptibility to bird flu.
- 36:14SPEAKER_08: It just it just is.
- 36:15SPEAKER_08: Well, that's it.
- 36:16SPEAKER_08: So and so um that's good to know for your own protection.
- 36:20SPEAKER_08: Uh um, yeah, uh get her get her a bouquet of roses and um and say uh uh dear, we need to we need to we don't we don't want our birds to get bird flu.
- 36:33SPEAKER_09: Okay, thank you.
- 36:35SPEAKER_06: That's great.
- 36:35SPEAKER_06: All right, Pamela, I love all your comments, Pamela, in the chat.
- 36:39SPEAKER_06: I was I was just chatting with Pamela on the side.
- 36:41SPEAKER_06: I was like, we have to connect.
- 36:43SPEAKER_06: You we we like sound like kindred spirits.
- 36:45SPEAKER_08: Oh yeah, oh yeah.
- 36:46SPEAKER_08: Bam, bam, bam, and uh you you're she's bam bam's a guru, let me tell you.
- 36:52SPEAKER_06: Yeah, where are you?
- 36:53SPEAKER_06: Where do you live, Pamela?
- 36:54SPEAKER_07: Or if you mind, I don't mind at all.
- 36:56SPEAKER_07: I'm currently in Colorado Springs.
- 36:59SPEAKER_07: Oh we spent many years next to Joel and um in Virginia.
- 37:05SPEAKER_07: Would love to be back there, but you grow where you're planted, but start growing here, which I would uh put out is the toughest ground I've ever seen to grow on.
- 37:16SPEAKER_07: I think it makes Africa look easy.
- 37:23SPEAKER_07: Um, but I have two things.
- 37:26SPEAKER_07: One is a question um directed to Joel, which is Joel, do you have anyone that you would recommend to Len and I regarding high altitude grassland production at 7,000 feet?
- 37:39SPEAKER_07: If we go down two feet, man, we've got great soil and we got a ton of water.
- 37:44SPEAKER_07: It's just from there through that first, you know, 12, 16, 18 inches, it is nasty.
- 37:52SPEAKER_07: So that's question number one.
- 37:54SPEAKER_07: And then Cena, I have something for you right after.
- 37:56SPEAKER_08: Okay, so so I can't give you a name offhand, but there are some excellent holistic management, um, holistic management practitioners in Colorado at that high elevation.
- 38:10SPEAKER_08: And so if you're looking for a um, whatever, for a for a network, a network of expertise, um holistic management international, HMI, they're headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and they have some excellent, excellent practitioners in Colorado.
- 38:28SPEAKER_08: That's where that's where I'd send you.
- 38:30SPEAKER_07: Okay, fantastic.
- 38:32SPEAKER_07: And Cena, um, love your approach, love what you're diving into regarding getting to root cause and working with people.
- 38:42SPEAKER_07: I think one of the things that we have to be very careful of is that when we go looking for triggers, as a man thinketh, so shall he be.
- 38:51SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 38:52SPEAKER_07: What we focus on gets bigger.
- 38:55SPEAKER_07: So, what are we focusing on?
- 38:57SPEAKER_07: So, so my one thing is just be very careful with that.
- 39:01SPEAKER_07: Trigger is a terminology that implies that you're a victim, and the last thing we want to do is be victims.
- 39:11SPEAKER_07: We are overcomers through Christ.
- 39:15SPEAKER_07: We experience issues, but we overcome them.
- 39:19SPEAKER_07: We are we are already standing in victory, right?
- 39:22SPEAKER_07: So, this is not name it and claim it because I am totally not a name it and claim it girl.
- 39:26SPEAKER_07: We have to address reality.
- 39:27SPEAKER_07: We are experiencing an issue, but the one thing that I get very concerned about whenever I hear us working with people, and and me, myself, and I really had a lot of bad habits I had to break with this, is that the more I got people to look at triggers, the bigger the triggers got.
- 39:43SPEAKER_07: I needed to focus on the success and focus on those things that we could grow the success on.
- 39:49SPEAKER_07: And I found the triggers faded off and went away.
- 39:52SPEAKER_07: Sometimes you still have to dress them, but not all of them.
- 39:55SPEAKER_07: So just lovingly I I share that.
- 39:59SPEAKER_07: Um, and that just comes from working with a lot of people in the clinic.
- 40:03SPEAKER_08: Yeah, and I can is there a better word than trigger?
- 40:10SPEAKER_07: Yeah, there is.
- 40:12SPEAKER_07: Um, you can the actual term believer not is what vexes you.
- 40:21SPEAKER_07: What vexes you.
- 40:22SPEAKER_07: If you want to go back to the biblical term terminology, it's what vexes you.
- 40:26SPEAKER_07: But the moment you go into what causes vexation, you're dealing with the spiritual.
- 40:32SPEAKER_07: And when you're dealing with the spiritual, it's the recognition of, oh, that's just another thing from the enemy.
- 40:38SPEAKER_07: Hmm.
- 40:39SPEAKER_07: Okay, well, I rebuke that, and I'm going this way, you know, according to what the Lord says in his promises.
- 40:45SPEAKER_07: Yep.
- 40:46SPEAKER_07: It's literally the word vexes is is what we're actually getting to.
- 40:51SPEAKER_07: And then we're recognizing the root of what we're dealing with because what we're dealing with in a lot of that is coming from that emotional spiritual place.
- 41:00SPEAKER_06: Yes, and I completely agree with you like a hundred percent, Pamela.
- 41:04SPEAKER_06: We I work a lot on the psychology with people where because by the time people get to me, they've already identified with the diagnoses that they got, or a lot of times they don't have a diagnosis yet, but they've identified with a concept of I'm sick.
- 41:23SPEAKER_06: Right.
- 41:24SPEAKER_06: You know, and so the one of the first things I work with on uh with with clients who come to me is releasing that identity, like you don't want to identify with it because, like you said, it becomes you, it it is your story then.
- 41:40SPEAKER_06: Um is everybody there?
- 41:42SPEAKER_06: Are you still there?
- 41:48SPEAKER_05: Are you guys still there?
- 41:50SPEAKER_05: My thing froze.
- 41:56SPEAKER_05: Oh no.
- 42:00SPEAKER_06: Oh, my whole thing just froze.
- 42:07SPEAKER_06: Oh, okay.
- 42:08SPEAKER_06: It can you guys hear me now?
- 42:10SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yeah.
- 42:11SPEAKER_06: Okay, I'm so sorry about that.
- 42:12SPEAKER_06: I don't know what happened.
- 42:13SPEAKER_06: It just froze and went away.
- 42:16SPEAKER_06: Yeah, okay, but so yes, um, my point was Pamela, I agree with you a hundred percent.
- 42:21SPEAKER_08: So um Pam Pam was Pam was affirm affirming you there, Cena.
- 42:25SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 42:26SPEAKER_06: Oh, great, yes.
- 42:27SPEAKER_06: So um we so anytime that somebody comes to me and they'll say, Um, you know, my disease or my high blood pressure, I stop them.
- 42:37SPEAKER_06: And I'm like, it is not yours.
- 42:39SPEAKER_06: Don't have it become part of you.
- 42:41SPEAKER_06: So that that's the first thing that we do.
- 42:43SPEAKER_06: I I that's why I'm like, we have to connect, Pamela, because we're so alive.
- 42:47SPEAKER_07: Um, because I realize that uh Well, you just you just basically said the power of the tongue, which was right on right on target.
- 42:54SPEAKER_07: Right on target.
- 42:55SPEAKER_07: Joel basically is, I guess, getting to his destination to get ready for his next thing that he's got this evening.
- 43:01SPEAKER_07: So he was trying to ri rein us all in and move us forward, you know, like trying to herd cats, cattle are easier.
- 43:07SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 43:07SPEAKER_06: Oh, yes, yeah.
- 43:09SPEAKER_06: But uh, well, I was gonna share my diagnosis story, but if you gotta go, Joel.
- 43:14SPEAKER_08: Like Yeah, I need to I need to go.
- 43:17SPEAKER_08: And I'm up here, you're not gonna believe this.
- 43:19SPEAKER_08: We've been driving, it's uh 32 degrees.
- 43:22SPEAKER_08: Uh, we've gone through what uh three wrecks uh in 10 minutes, and tractor trailers wrecked.
- 43:30SPEAKER_08: Uh we're in the roads are as slick as you can't believe it.
- 43:34SPEAKER_08: And uh there's like two three inches of sleet on the road.
- 43:39SPEAKER_08: Where are you at?
- 43:40SPEAKER_08: Uh Wisconsin Dells?
- 43:43SPEAKER_08: Wisconsin.
- 43:45SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 43:46SPEAKER_08: This really moved in serious.
- 43:47SPEAKER_08: Oh, yeah, I came in good.
- 43:48SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 43:49SPEAKER_00: Enjoy those water parks, Joel.
- 43:51SPEAKER_08: Yeah, watch.
- 43:52SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 43:53SPEAKER_08: So I'm gonna I'm gonna jump off here.
- 43:55SPEAKER_08: It's been great to visit with you guys.
- 43:57SPEAKER_08: I gotta get into the my next uh activity, but uh always great to visit.
- 44:01SPEAKER_08: Uh Cena, Cena, you can you can shut it down when you're ready to shut it down.
- 44:06SPEAKER_06: Um yeah, okay.
- 44:08SPEAKER_06: Um, I don't know, Joel, did you wanna uh um you know pray us out again?
- 44:14SPEAKER_08: Yeah, okay.
- 44:16SPEAKER_08: All right.
- 44:16SPEAKER_08: Um I'll do that.
- 44:18SPEAKER_08: Lord, it's been uh delightful to visit with our folks and our our podcast family here for a few minutes and um especially to listen to the to the pleas as well as the opportunities.
- 44:34SPEAKER_08: And so we continue to just rest in your wisdom and your grace and pray for discernment for all of us to find your heart and your will in um in how we think and what we do.
- 44:50SPEAKER_08: And we're grateful that we can think and do, and we can rest in your uh grace to think and do.
- 44:57SPEAKER_08: So help us in that and uh and and lead us forward.
