- 0:01Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Hi everyone, it's Justin here, Voices for Voices.
- 0:05Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Thank you so much for watching, listening, wherever you're at.
- 0:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We are grateful for you taking a uh portion of your day uh and uh spending it with the Voices for Voices family.
- 0:22Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh we're again just grateful to have the opportunity uh to be where we're at, to have the following uh viewers, listeners, uh from again, the United States, all across the world.
- 0:37Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's it's uh it's it's definitely humbling uh what's what's going on, and we are just thankful to be into this position, to be able to help as many people, to reach as many people.
- 0:54Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh, we do have that huge goal of uh wanting to reach and help at least three billion people over the course of my lifetime and beyond.
- 1:05Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And it's such a wild number uh that I think we're we're gonna do it.
- 1:15Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I I have no doubt that we're gonna do that.
- 1:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um it's no thanks to anybody else but you.
- 1:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh it's not me.
- 1:26Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm just uh I'm just a vessel.
- 1:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm just you know the the ink of the pen in the hands of the author.
- 1:35Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh to quote uh a song that uh I've just been made aware of.
- 1:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I believe Nick Jonas uh sings it uh with uh with uh another artist or two.
- 1:52Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But yeah, we're just here uh sharing experiences and so what's going on a lot, um a lot on the political front, uh, and you know we don't get political, we may have politicians on our show, uh, but we we don't say, hey, vote for this person, I'm not that that person.
- 2:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You may look at our social media and say, well, that's not what that looks like.
- 2:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so that's exactly what it looks like.
- 2:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're for we're for good and we're against evil.
- 2:35Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So that is what you'll you'll see.
- 2:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: People succeeding, organizations succeeding, uh helping people, rescue kids, rescue animals, um, just being a sounding board, a listening person can mean so much in the face of adversity.
- 3:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And you might think, well, what's what's listening?
- 3:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I gotta just sit here and listen to this person.
- 3:11Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Well, you know what, you may be the last person that that person, that hypothetical person talks to before they make a decision to uh to unalive themselves.
- 3:32Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So I think we got to think of things in that respect because we we really don't know, and we're talking about kids too, children.
- 3:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I mean, so moldable of they see, they hear, they experience, yeah, children pick up on a lot more than what we we think, and you know, I I know I can be nobody's perfect, and I that includes me.
- 4:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh I can I can do a better job.
- 4:22Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And and so that's uh that's each day just trying to do a little bit more, you know, even if it's just listening, I enjoy listening, and I was trying to put it into perspective and give examples because whether you're watching or listening, uh I'm talking so say, well, you're you do a lot of talking.
- 5:05Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I do mostly on these shows.
- 5:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You catch me anywhere else, you know, just I don't know.
- 5:17Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um watching a a concert on TV, I'm usually just watching it.
- 5:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I don't I don't fit the criteria of an extrovert.
- 5:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Even though at times, you know, that button or whatever it's called, uh that that switch gets made, it gets made automatically without me thinking.
- 5:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: When I first started public speaking, I was in communications class 101 at Youngstown State University.
- 6:03Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I was terrified of speaking.
- 6:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We had three speeches.
- 6:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I think there was like an information, persuasive, and I can't think of the third type.
- 6:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So they were the speeches were obviously part of our grades, but we would look at, you know, if you're if you're doing a persuasive speech or talk, you won't have information, you won't have numbers, you won't have those included so that when somebody is finished listening or watching or they're reading, then they can either be persuaded or not.
- 6:54Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And that was I I can close my eyes and take myself back to that that literal that that day, literally, and just thinking, oh my gosh, I gotta talk in front of all these people.
- 7:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And then you know, as as time progresses, and you know, you may or may not.
- 7:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I it took me a while, um, but it's interesting because it's not everybody's actually listening.
- 7:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: They might be looking at that, you may they might be looking through you, they may be thinking about what were you what am I doing for dinner, what am I doing for a lot you know it would depend on what time of the class period was.
- 7:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: This was I think like an early evening class.
- 7:54Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And you know, you're in college, like hey, we're gonna do college things, what what whatever that means, and so that really started.
- 8:12Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That's kind of like my first time remembering, I think, uh vividly of what that felt like, and it just I it it was it was uh craziness um inside my head because I have this information.
- 8:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm trying not to read off these note cards because eye contact was one of the one of the areas that we were being graded on.
- 8:47Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So if I just sat there and just read the cards like this, I would get points deducted, and yeah, it's not the end of the world, but we're trying to get the best grades as we can, right?
- 9:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I mean, that's the whole idea.
- 9:05Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So the listening part is more of a recent thing for me, at least as I again take a perspective of listening.
- 9:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You know, the last what two to three months there's been a lot of time that I normally would be talking, speaking, but the switch to listening had has really jumped in at that those junctures, those areas, those conversations.
- 10:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so I I think that means I'm getting better at listening because I I don't have to think about okay, Justin, you need to listen at this time.
- 10:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I still have those times where I was like, okay, what let's just be present.
- 10:25Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We'll just be present in the moment.
- 10:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's hard to do.
- 10:32Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Sounds easy.
- 10:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But once you try doing it, I know for me, past, present, and in the future, it is easier than it sounds like oh yeah, that's easy.
- 10:55Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I can I can I can uh I can listen.
- 11:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I can just switch switch modes.
- 11:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But I don't know that it really is that easy.
- 11:15Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Because if it was that easy, we'd all have that as like a strong area, strong trait.
- 11:26Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And right, we're all unique, and so some of us that might come easier than not.
- 11:35Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Some of us don't get we don't have a ton of opportunities to really test that out.
- 11:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so the last couple months, man.
- 11:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You know, with you know, the political landscape uh just to across the world, uh but you know, just you know, specific states.
- 12:12Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You know, they have they call the a primary, so you go and you vote, and then you know who you know the top two uh usually will be the ones in the general election that voters will pick between candidate A, candidate B.
- 12:40Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Some of us look up information about them, some of us don't.
- 12:44Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Some of us just go based off the name recognition.
- 12:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: There's some data that shows that.
- 12:55Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So if it's a recognizable name, might be like, oh, okay, yeah, I remember that name.
- 13:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Might not know specifically at that time, but once you see that, or somebody uh is helping you, and it's like, oh, okay, yeah.
- 13:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And and so it helps in those cases to be a well-known name, last name.
- 13:26Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So there's that, you know, so listening to different positions, but again, as far as you know, voices for voices goes, it's not about this candidate or that candidate.
- 13:42Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We offer, and I say this as much as I can.
- 13:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I can't make the decision for you.
- 13:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If you're a candidate and you're running for office, and you want to be the guest, be a guest on our show, you gotta reach out.
- 14:06Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I know right now there's a certain candidate, an incumbent, so they're already in office, and they're reaching out to like everybody except me.
- 14:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh and so you have to reach out to the person that's doing the show, the shows.
- 14:40Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: At the very least, right?
- 14:42Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We have a website, voices for voices.org.
- 14:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: There's a contact me or contact us.
- 14:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You could do that.
- 14:55Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But this there's there's one individual, not naming names.
- 15:01Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It just continues to like you know, go on the surface, and uh, you know, they're blowing up the phone, not actually blowing up the phone, but texting, calling Lane, texting, calling, texting, calling.
- 15:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Here's how you can get hold of Justin.
- 15:22Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Here's how you can get you know how we we can get the conversation started to get an episode filmed.
- 15:35Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We've had people we've had candidates and people in office on both sides of the aisle.
- 15:43Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So what I can't do is I can't do anything except what I'm doing now, is to say all candidates running for office are welcome on our show.
- 16:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We can have a conversation, we can talk about lots of things.
- 16:11Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: The one thing we can't do is endorse and say, you know, the stamp of approval that voices for voices, Justin Allen Hayes, because then that gets used, and then people go, Oh, I thought you said you weren't political.
- 16:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And we're not, but there's people who have jobs who are politicians.
- 16:44Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So again, I've reached out to quite a few.
- 16:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Some respond, some don't.
- 16:54Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's alright.
- 16:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: No offense taken.
- 17:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: However, when a person wants the you know, they want the exposure, right?
- 17:15Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So this is this would be like a like press.
- 17:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You know, so they would have 30 minutes to an hour when I conversation.
- 17:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We talk about you know what's what's important to them.
- 17:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We can't talk about, oh, I'm just gonna have 30 minutes and this is gonna be a campaign speech.
- 17:42Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: No, we're not, we don't do that.
- 17:45Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And if that does happen, then we just don't air the we don't we just don't put the show out.
- 17:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That's how we handle that.
- 18:01Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So for anything, right?
- 18:03Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If somebody, if you want something bad enough, you gotta again, you gotta at least try, and we're gonna get back to the listening, you gotta at least try to reach out to the person or the persons that are actually doing the thing.
- 18:26Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so doing the thing is doing the show, doing the podcast, and when you're actually, you know, given contact information and you don't contact the person, I I I can't do anything about that.
- 18:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Nobody can.
- 18:54Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Because there's a lot of people that maybe they are trying to you know find a way to get in touch.
- 19:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And again, voicesforvoices.org.
- 19:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You spend a minute or two poking around, you're gonna find out how to contact us.
- 19:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: The contact us form.
- 19:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And then we go through all those.
- 19:31Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We find what's real, what's spammy.
- 19:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And we go from there.
- 19:43Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But when like specific information of like, hey, here's how you contact 'em.
- 19:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Here's here's how you contact them.
- 20:01Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Reach out.
- 20:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So as we continue on the listening.
- 20:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So there there's been there was uh a member of our family passed away.
- 20:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Went to the service with with my mom and did a show on it and talked about it.
- 20:42Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Cause I had a whole range of emotions.
- 20:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I think we all have emotions to some extent in one way or another, and they can ebb and flow, and certain parts can be easy, certain parts can be more difficult.
- 21:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so I sat and I listened.
- 21:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I was not the center of attention, I was present as in the present.
- 21:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like I'm presently filming this podcast and TV show.
- 21:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So I am speaking, I am trying to look into the camera.
- 21:35Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Sometimes depending on which camera angle we have, it may look like I am looking into the camera or I'm not.
- 21:45Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And it's it's not I There's not usually a reason why.
- 21:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Usually it's like if I look down.
- 22:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Or other cycles, like I'm trying to recall a memory, an experience.
- 22:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So there was that service.
- 22:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You know, just recently, friend, friend of the show.
- 22:25Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Recently just surpassed 40 years, drug-free and sobers and not hospital.
- 22:35Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I spent three hours.
- 22:37Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I think three hours one day, two hours another, and I forget how probably around there for like another another day.
- 22:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I did some talking.
- 22:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I also did some listening.
- 23:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Just sitting with me, like in the same room.
- 23:14Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like we don't, I mean, we can't have a conversation, but sometimes we don't.
- 23:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're just sometimes we're on our phones, sometimes we're watching a show or a concert, or you know, there's a zillion things that we can do.
- 23:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so just being with a person in the room is helpful.
- 23:55Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I know it because I talk about this a lot, but it it means so much to me.
- 24:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And it's such a great description and uh of sharing this.
- 24:14Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You know, when I was going through whatever, you know, the hit and rock bottom mental health-wise, you know, leading up into the five-day impatient stay.
- 24:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And after my dad would drive like thirty-five, forty-five minutes each way.
- 24:55Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And this is when I was getting, so beforehand, before the hospital, if I would turn on TV, I would get dizzy watching it, and so there's a lot of times where my dad would just drive up that amount of time, depending on traffic and all that, and he would sit, just sit, or lay down on the couch or wherever.
- 25:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And we may, over the course of several hours, have a conversation or two, but just about like kind of specific things.
- 26:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so just me knowing, me sensing that I mean it happened to be my dad.
- 26:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh it was in a sense soothing, just knowing that okay, he's gonna he's gonna watch over here on earth.
- 26:33Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I wasn't I I don't think I don't think I was doing anything like dangerous activity or anything like that.
- 26:40Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um obviously I was doing a lot of things that you know pulling away from teaching assignments and other things, which now I know are sometimes linked to people who have a plan to be unalive.
- 27:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I just look back and go, oh my gosh, and there was this one there was a lot, but I remember this one time, my birthday, and I was I forget what age I was turning, but whatever age I was turning, I remember being a lot younger, thinking to myself, like, of course, I was drinking alcohol or what have you.
- 27:55Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: They kind of numbed those feelings and thoughts of being that introvert.
- 28:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like, I can't talk to anybody unless I'm drunk when you're drunk, or when I'm drunk, when I was drunk, I don't even know if I even made sense, probably not a whole lot of sense, but just having my dad in the room like means so much, and with him being in heaven now, I mean I miss him so much, and I miss me you know let's be real here, okay?
- 28:58Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You know, we have feelings and so I miss him just sitting.
- 29:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I can I can just believe that he'd want me to do the work that we're doing with voices for voices, voices for voices, publishing, all all the things that he wouldn't want me to give up.
- 29:43Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So easy to give up.
- 29:44Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We talk about it so much.
- 29:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So easy to give up.
- 29:47Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We talk about the gym, right?
- 29:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So easy to not go to the gym one day, so easy not to go two days in a row.
- 30:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Hard part is having a plan, whether you write it down or not, just store it up here.
- 30:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Because if we're using the gym as an example of okay, I need to be committed to the gym because it costs a lot of money, and it's it's one of the better feelings of leaving the gym after doing a workout.
- 30:47Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Again, I'm not gonna I'm not gonna be in any bodybuilding championships or competitions.
- 30:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Just doing 20 pounds, 10 pounds, whatever the weight is, doesn't even matter.
- 31:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: There's been so many years where I've just been sitting and sitting and sitting some more.
- 31:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: One of the things was I was so terrified of driving.
- 31:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That was one of the things that was terrifying to me.
- 31:40Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I had driven for a lot of years, and he would my dad would come with me in my car, and I would just drive just to kind of practice getting used to it because I was afraid that if I was driving by myself, that I might have another panic attack.
- 32:11Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So it took me a few times doing that to get the courage to drive again, so my dad listened, didn't say a whole lot, didn't have to.
- 32:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And when he was near the end of his life, it was like the roles were reversed where I would I would be in the same room, but we wouldn't have to be talking.
- 32:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We just we could just feel the presence of the other person.
- 33:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So the hospital, yeah.
- 33:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: A few days ago.
- 33:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I I don't know, I just felt like I needed to just sit and listen, and we laughed so much.
- 33:37Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It was I mean it but I I I don't even I can't even remember a time that I laughed so much.
- 33:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I think we were just laughing at like just the silliest of things, and and it didn't have to be like rude or vulgar or anything like that.
- 34:05Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It was just we were just laughing, and it was just one human being being there for another human being.
- 34:22Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And then I think about all the people who don't have somebody to sit with them.
- 34:35Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: There's a lot of people that are my eyes are modern here, but there's so many people who don't have anybody to sit with them, listen to them.
- 34:55Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I remember my my grandparents as they were getting older, and you know, Alzheimer's, dementia, call it what you will.
- 35:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: They repeat the same thing sometimes, stuff they would say might not quite make sense.
- 35:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It was just being there, being present.
- 35:31Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like I didn't need my grandpa's or my grandmas that like they didn't need to tell me anything, they didn't need I I didn't I didn't need them.
- 35:44Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I mean, if they were in pain and that of course, like I wanted them to let me know or try to figure out at least get them checked out.
- 36:01Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But that's another time just sitting and listening, like I don't I don't know what they're really saying.
- 36:12Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so I was just being I think about that now.
- 36:17Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Just now as as we're doing the show.
- 36:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Those are other times where I was just spending with them, wheeling them around in their wheelchair, going for a walk with them sitting next to their bed.
- 36:55Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so I I guess I was just thinking again about all the all the people that don't have somebody to listen to them.
- 37:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Some people are like, you're not making sense, doesn't matter.
- 37:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Seriously, it doesn't just be present, be in the moment.
- 37:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Let them know you care, let them know you love them.
- 37:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If they eat the eat food, if they eat none of the food, if they throw the food, I mean, you're just being present with them.
- 37:43Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I'm I I think I've learned a lot of that from I mean, both my mom and my dad.
- 37:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Yeah, we go through we go through life and now social media and everything.
- 38:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You know, it's we all got the big megaphone that you know we're making posts and videos and all these things that we're putting out for people, for numbers, for clicks, for stars, for likes, for ever whatever you want to call it.
- 38:31Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So I challenge everybody at some point in the future, you know, of your choosing, think about listening, think about sitting and just being with somebody.
- 39:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like I again, I don't I don't have to have a conversation every minute of it of every day.
- 39:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So if I'm in a room with somebody, we can have a conversation, or we can talk about certain activities and that, but it doesn't.
- 39:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That's not what matters.
- 39:31Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: What matters is being present in the moment as much as we can, I feel miserably sometimes, other times I do okay.
- 39:58Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But for any parent, any guardian of anybody who whose mind is I mean we're always I think we're always learning.
- 40:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I think we are.
- 43:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We surpassed five hundred shows.
- 43:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Yeah, that's a number.
- 44:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But I have so much more to get, so much more to share, so much more to ask guests to come on to the show to talk about, let them share their story, their experiences.
- 44:25Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: There's always at least one person that gains some type of either knowledge that confirms what they think and what they thought, like, ah, I thought about that, that makes sense.
- 44:43Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Or maybe it's something brand new, and maybe you look it up on the internet and say, Oh, Justin was wrong.
