- 10:32and once at the end of this recording before giving
- 10:34the answer. Stay tuned until the end to see if
- 10:37you got it right. Guess who? I Am a professional
- 10:42wrestler born in Massachusetts on April twenty third, nineteen seventy seven.
- 10:47I hold sixteen w w E World Heavyweight Championships. I'm
- 10:51also known for playing lead or supporting roles in a
- 10:54number of films. Who Am I Life on the Old
- 10:59Dirt Road by Bobby Thorpe, Fun in the Rain. In
- 11:03today's world, when it rains, we tell our children and
- 11:06grandchildren to not be out in the rain or they'll
- 11:08be sick. Back when I was a child, we ran
- 11:11out into the rain. Mom and Dad would catch water
- 11:14in a rain barrel for later use, and we would
- 11:16soap off in the rain, and the girls would stand
- 11:18under the house eaves and wash their hair in the
- 11:20rain water using prel We also rode our bikes in
- 11:24the mud, jumped in the puddles, and even played with
- 11:26talkatoys in the mud piles. At times we would even
- 11:30catch rain drops on our tongues. Occasionally, a mud fight
- 11:33would break out and the girls would make mud pies.
- 11:36Rainy weather would also be relaxing while sitting on the
- 11:39front porch. There's nothing like hearing the rain falling off
- 11:42an old tin roof. Today people run for cover when
- 11:45it rains, and you never see anyone out in the
- 11:48rain playing any more. Something as simple as the rain
- 11:51brings back good memories of life on the old dirt road.
- 11:55Talking pictures by Brian C. Combs. Sound and Fury directed
- 12:00by Koji Morimoto, twenty nineteen. Sound and Fury is a
- 12:04compilation anime film to the Stgle Simpson album of the
- 12:08same name. There is no dialog except Joe Rugan doing
- 12:11a brief Alex Jones impression at the very beginning. The
- 12:15film follows a mysterious driver as he heads deep into
- 12:18the post apocalyptic world to confront two monstrous opponents. Jackson's
- 12:23own Sturgil Simpson is one of one. He is the
- 12:26only artist in the history of music to be nominated
- 12:29for Album of the Year in the categories of Country, Americana, Bluegrass,
- 12:34and Rock at the Grammy Awards. His twenty seventeen album
- 12:37A Sailor's Guide to Earth won the Grammy for Best
- 12:41Country Album. What did He Design to Do. To follow
- 12:43up the best country album of the year, he pivoted
- 12:46and made one of the best rock albums of the
- 12:48decade with Sound and Fury. The Sound and Fury film
- 12:52adds a cinematic and visual smorgasbord to the great songs
- 12:56that play while the action unfolds. If you have not
- 12:59watched it, you can watch it on Netflix, and I
- 13:01suggest you play it loud. See you at the movies.
- 13:06So be it by Pastor Naomi The Battle of the Mind.
- 13:11As someone ever asked you what you were thinking about,
- 13:14maybe you said something like, oh, my mind has been
- 13:16all over the place. We can be very stressed by
- 13:20our overthinking. Some days our mind feels at peace. Other
- 13:24times our mind may think about many things in a
- 13:26day's time. Maybe you've had days that your mind was
- 13:30on a certain project, event good or bad news for days.
- 13:34Did you know that the Bible speaks about different minds
- 13:37and even what we should think on the condition of
- 13:40our mind shapes our choices, our peace, our relationships, and
- 13:44our walk with Jesus. Scripture shows us that not all
- 13:48minds are the same. Some lead to life, others lead
- 13:51to bondage. Through Christ. Our minds can be renewed, which
- 13:55is great news. Right mind. Mark five point fifteen says,
- 13:59this is the man who has been possessed by demons,
- 14:02now sitting clothed and in his right mind. This man's
- 14:06mind was no longer ruled by torment, but he was
- 14:08now stable and clear minded, in peace, sober mind. Titus
- 14:14one eight says, but hospitable, a lover of what is good,
- 14:18A sober minded, just, holy, and self controlled. He was alert,
- 14:23not being ruled by his fleshly desires or emotions. He
- 14:27began to live with an alert, watchful mind, being disciplined
- 14:31spiritual mind Romans eight six. To be spiritually minded is
- 14:36life and peace. One Corinthians two sixteen says, for those
- 14:41for who has known the mind of the Lord, that
- 14:43he may instruct him. But we have known the mind
- 14:46of Christ. We should be thinking God's thoughts, not just
- 14:49things on earth. Anxious mind. Luke twelve twenty nine says,
- 14:54and do not seek what you should eat or what
- 14:56you should drink, nor have an anxious mind, that is
- 14:59a mind that is consumed with worry and fear about
- 15:02a lot of things. We forget God is our provider,
- 15:06debased or reprobate mind. Romans one twenty eight says, and
- 15:10even as they did not like to retain God in
- 15:13their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind.
- 15:17This mindset has rejected the truth of God so much
- 15:20that their hearts became hardened. They continue to resist the
- 15:23commands of God. Carnal mind Romans eight six and seven
- 15:28says the carnal mind is death. It is enmity against God.
- 15:33This mindset is saying I want what I want and
- 15:35not what God wants. Our fleshly desires are causing us
- 15:39to resist God, and it is more pleasurable to live
- 15:42for ourselves. Philippians four six through eight says, be careful
- 15:47for nothing. The peace of God, which passeth all understanding,
- 15:51shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren,
- 15:55whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things
- 16:00are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely,
- 16:03whatsoever things are of good report. If there be any virtue,
- 16:07and if there be any praise, think on these things.
- 16:11We are to renew our minds daily in the word.
- 16:14Jesus said, if we keep our minds stayed upon him,
- 16:17he would give us perfect peace. There is hope for
- 16:20a troubled mind. Get into the word of God. Amen,
- 16:24so be it. Legislative update by Senator Brandon Smith. Senator
- 16:30Brandon Smith files bill to turn abandoned homes into affordable housing.
- 16:35Senator Brandon Smith, Republican of Hazard, has filed legislation aimed
- 16:39at tackling the Commonwealth's affordable housing shortage by putting long
- 16:43vacant houses back into productive use. The bill, Senate Bill
- 16:48one forty two, would create the Abandoned Home Pool Fund,
- 16:52a new housing initiative that partners with trusted nonprofit housing
- 16:55organizations to rehabilitate abandoned residential primme parties and convert them
- 17:01into safe, quality rental homes. Under the proposal, homes restored
- 17:06with these funds must remain affordable for twenty years. Rent
- 17:10would be based on actual rehabilitation costs rather than market rates.
- 17:14Tenants who consistently make on time rent payments could eventually
- 17:18earn the opportunity to purchase their home, putting long term
- 17:21stability in wealth building within reach of working families. If
- 17:25a tenant is evicted after making at least forty eight
- 17:27months of payments, they would receive twenty percent of those
- 17:31payments back as a refund towards future housing. The program
- 17:35would direct funding through experienced nonprofit partners with a track
- 17:39record of delivering results in housing, rehabilitation and community development.
- 17:44To qualify, organizations must be Kentucky based nonprofits with at
- 17:48least five years of experience in housing or home repair.
- 17:52Renters must earn no more than one hundred twenty percent
- 17:55of the area's median income and complete a home ownership
- 17:58counseling course before signing a lease. Smith proposes appropriating twenty
- 18:04five million dollars to the Abandoned Home Pool Fund. This
- 18:08bill is about giving people a fair shot, not fueling
- 18:11profits for speculators. Smith added, it's a smart, targeted solution
- 18:15that lifts up neighborhoods and makes efficient use of tax dollars.
- 18:19Affordable housing advocates have noted the ongoing need for solutions
- 18:23that expand supply while addressing blight and neighborhood decline. This
- 18:28bill complements other statewide efforts to increase housing access and
- 18:32support community revitalization. Boys High school basketball Hot Shooting, Bobcats
