- 2:37bit a couple pockets but that's about it okay cool cool so me and you we met
- 2:42at the sacktown movie buff,
- 2:46Mixer. The Mixer. Big Sexy Brewing Co. Yeah. Yes. How was it?
- 2:50How was your experience taking in that film festival?
- 2:53I haven't been to a film festival in a while. And that was absolutely amazing.
- 2:59So much fun. Great location.
- 3:01Good food, by the way. Oh, the barbecue?
- 3:04I didn't get my own, but I was eating off of maybe Pepper's Blade.
- 3:09Yeah, I'll see the prices. Yeah, I see the prices for them.
- 3:12I say, you know, I would just say, what's that? Can I try to like five people?
- 3:19No, but it was it was great. It was a lot of fun. A lot of faces I hadn't seen
- 3:24in a long time, including Bunny.
- 3:26So, yeah, I've done some work with her before, but that I hadn't seen her in a year or two, maybe.
- 3:32And it was great to see her again and so many other people i had interviewed
- 3:37i was a co-host of a podcast last
- 3:39year as well and there were two artists there that i was glad to see so,
- 3:45okay cool yeah shout out to bunny stewart bunny stewart's definitely a good
- 3:48friend of the the yeah buddy podcast she's been on here we interviewed her she's
- 3:53always good time good energy good spirit when you're around bunny and stuff
- 3:57like that yes yeah but that mixer was cool Cool,
- 3:59because I don't know how often you come out to like Sacramento to mix and mingle with the people.
- 4:03I know you said it's been a while, but usually we don't get that type of turnout when it comes to.
- 4:08Yeah. I mean, it was very good to see a lot of the people from different pockets
- 4:12of like the film community just come together and just like start that drama.
- 4:17Network networking with industry attorneys, directors, producers and writers,
- 4:24as well as, you know, Robert Parham from our films. I mean, a couple other artists
- 4:29that were in our films as well.
- 4:31He really kind of sort of tends to work with the same people and help develop
- 4:35them as artists if they're not already seasoned.
- 4:38Just helps develop them a lot along the way.
- 4:41And yeah, it was great. It was great. I had so much fun. Yeah. You saw the musician?
- 4:48I did see the musician there. He was awesome, too.
- 4:52I was so busy on this side, but I did hear him on this side.
- 4:56So it was great to just vibe out, you know, just totally vibe out.
- 5:00I know I think I've seen, I know I've heard that voice before and I've seen his face before.
- 5:05So it was great to hear him out there. Yeah, it's always good.
- 5:08I think his name was the Philharmonic. I hope I didn't mess that up.
- 5:12See, that's what I was talking about. I should have wrote it down,
- 5:15but he is an amazing artist.
- 5:17Yeah, yeah, no, yeah. It was definitely, definitely good vibes,
- 5:20definitely good energy. G shout out to Kiera for throwing on a wonderful film mixer.
- 5:24I'm not, well, a film mixer, but that the film festival went on through the whole entire weekend.
- 5:29And that was at the, the IMAX theater.
- 5:31Yes. And your film that you're in mad as hell Sunday.
- 5:35Yes. It's right on Sunday, the 13th. Yeah. I believe that's what it was. Yes.
- 5:41So many other great films throughout the weekend as well. And I believe they
- 5:45had a celebrity party too.
- 5:48It's that Saturday night. So did you miss it? Yeah, I don't think I got that invite.
- 5:53I was there on Saturday, but I didn't get that invite.
- 5:56No, I got the invite, but that's the thing about driving, you know,
- 6:00and I didn't, I just didn't rent a hotel or anything.
- 6:03So I come out on Friday for the mixer and I said, well, I can come out on Saturday.
- 6:09If I do, I'm just going to have to stay the night out here.
- 6:12But I just came out for a little while and just went on home.
- 6:15But yeah, there was a nice little party that they had. I'm sorry.
- 6:18No, I think I know what you're talking about, though. It was like the Miss Glamorous.
- 6:23Well, they had a whole bunch of events going on. Yeah, a whole bunch of stuff,
- 6:26yeah. They had a whole bunch of stuff going on, which is good.
- 6:28Sacramento's, the whole art scene and entertainment scene had really started
- 6:31to build up out here in Sacramento.
- 6:35And then, so like I said, you had the film Mad as Hell. Yes.
- 6:38In the film festival. Well, not only was it in the film festival,
- 6:41but it also took home a couple awards.
- 6:43Yes, it did. It took home Best Director and Best...
- 6:48Supporting actor and then best supporting
- 6:51actress okay yes yeah so yeah
- 6:54you want you want best supporting actress i did
- 6:57yeah don't be so bad i was a bashful let me tell you let me just tell you because
- 7:02because it's so embarrassing i didn't expect to hear my name right so when i
- 7:07did hear my name i can guarantee you the soles of my feet grew numb i could
- 7:13not feel the bottom of my feet.
- 7:15And this is where Bunny comes in because I was so grateful that she was standing
- 7:20in the place that she was standing in because I stopped and I gave her a hug
- 7:24because I said, oh my gosh, Bunny, I don't know. I don't think I'm going to make it over there.
- 7:27But she was just so, you know what I'm saying? The energy that she gave,
- 7:30she probably just gave me another burst of energy to just go,
- 7:33but I couldn't feel my feet.
- 7:34And then I just don't even remember my speech because I don't even think I included
- 7:38everyone that I really wanted to.
- 7:40So shout out to everyone that I love that I was supposed to say my daughters
- 7:45were there too. And I totally like blanked out on them as well.
- 7:49But I know they love me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But, yeah, and it was just an honor,
- 7:53really, really, really an honor to receive that award. Mm-hmm.
- 7:58Really, really. And so in the movie, well, you get people, I didn't get a chance to watch the movie.
- 8:03I saw the trailer for it. It looked pretty crazy. It's something about,
- 8:06like, some, I don't want to go too into detail.
- 8:08I don't want to best play it. Well, best supporting actress really is just someone
- 8:11in the film that provides glue.
- 8:14Like, it's a piece of glue to the film. Mm-hmm. My role wasn't very big and
- 8:19I really had just one crazy line.
- 8:23But I think what Rob does really well when he's mentoring in films is timing.
- 8:29And then, you know, this line, these lines that he just looks,
- 8:33he's like, no, this is probably going to work for you if you say this.
- 8:37But it was really all about camera angles and timing in that.
- 8:41And my character, Miss Cresswell, you know, she lasted a little bit in the film.
- 8:46And then there were a few flashbacks of her.
- 8:49But it was really, I can't, I don't, I think it was just the timing in that.
- 8:55Because I would love to be mad as hell too, if that's what they're going to
- 8:59do. So interesting to see how that goes. Because I definitely asked not to die.
- 9:04Yeah. Madder as hell, that's what we call it. Yeah, I definitely didn't want
- 9:07to die. But, you know, I was at a point where I called him...
- 9:13I, you know, I said, hey, what do you have for me? You know,
- 9:16I mean, he said, well, I might have something, but I don't think you're gonna,
- 9:20you know, he's like, I don't think you're gonna like it.
- 9:23And I was like, I don't, I don't, I don't care. Just call me back.
- 9:25Like, what is it? And he was just like, you know, do you have a great wig?
- 9:28Do you have this and that? And
- 9:30trying to just study that character because I'm not that old quite yet.
- 9:35But I was trying to figure out on YouTube how to, you know, one of the assistants
- 9:41there, we were trying to figure out how to do it, you know, because we're not
- 9:46like those sort of artists, you know, with the makeup.
- 9:49But I tried to make it as believable as I could.
- 9:53Yeah, that's what they all say, because I did see the trailer and what I was
- 9:56looking at, where's the Kia at? And then I went back and I was like, oh, she.
- 10:00And so that's what's been happening to me probably since the movie come out.
- 10:05You know, I've had to like, but that's me right there. I swear it is.
- 10:10And also to my weight loss journey as well. As I was filming that,
- 10:14I was definitely a lot bigger back then than I was now.
- 10:17So you can see the journey that I've also. Also, so follow me on social media
- 10:21because you can see the journey that I've taken and just getting my health back
- 10:26and my fitness and my body, you know, my body back and stuff like that.
- 10:29But, yeah, I just try to embody that character.
- 10:32But that was me this entire time. And I said, Rob, no one's going to know.
- 10:36Like, how will they know? How will they know? You know, so.
- 10:41But that's the power of great acting. that's the power of great acting being
- 10:44a great you know character actor committing you know committing to the committing
- 10:48to the role committing to this character that you're playing because like you said it was.
- 10:52It didn't look like you at all. Like everybody goes, well, she has like glasses,
- 10:57this old gray wig, just, you know, just playing it up and stuff like that.
- 11:02Yeah. I know you talk about like doing like research and stuff like that.
- 11:05What is normally like your process of getting into a character,
- 11:08especially something that's so far like from who you are naturally as a person?
- 11:12Well, it depends on how many lines I have. I'm just slowly increasing,
- 11:17you know, my visibility in the films that I'm starting to do now.
- 11:23I was usually just like a visual part of it or created a scene or the aesthetic
- 11:29of it, not just because I was cute or standing back.
- 11:32Most of the time, too, I was in the character and people didn't even know that
- 11:36was me as well. So I'm just now starting to to get more into that.
- 11:42But so far, I just read the script and just see what I can, you know,
- 11:47what I can do with the character, really.
- 11:49And the research is not all Googleable.
- 11:52You know, it's it's mainly someone that you've known or that you've come across in your life before.
- 12:00You know, whether it's a teacher or even someone at the grocery store that has
- 12:04a slang when they talk or just the way they do their hair or something like that or whatever.
- 12:09You've seen someone like that before. Yeah. And you just have to tap into it.
- 12:13Yeah. I think everybody grew up at one point in time had a neighbor that was
- 12:16like a Miss Cresswell somewhere.
- 12:18Yeah. Like that. So maybe didn't do a Miss Cresswell did. But yeah, Miss Cresswell.
- 12:23Nosy. Nosy neighbor. The nosy neighbor. The nosy neighbor.
- 12:27Yeah. And so how how did you get started into acting?
- 12:32Oh, well, I was in my first play at third grade.
- 12:38So in my third grade teacher, she missed Diana Colombo.
- 12:42I'm still looking for, by the way, if she's out there, you can speak to her
- 12:46because she really took the time to she just really took the time.
- 12:51She say you have something and I want to keep putting you in things.
- 12:54So my first play was The Witch, actually, in Snow White.
- 12:59And I was like, you know, I had instantly went through this nose thing and I
- 13:03was like, oh, they just chose me because my nose.
- 13:05Right. But no, I had to put some aesthetic on it anyways.
- 13:09But it was really the walk. And it was how I studied the character.
- 13:13I had seen the movie already, obviously, because it's a Disney movie.
- 13:16I was 10. So I think I've seen it. I had seen it before.
- 13:20But the costume was different.
- 13:22And I changed up her walk a little bit as I was walking into the auditorium.
- 13:28And it really people started clapping and stuff.
- 13:31And I was like, I don't know. And then my lines came out and there wasn't many,
- 13:35but I just delivered them in a way that, you know, people enjoyed it.
- 13:39But that was the start of it.
- 13:40And I think I did a couple other plays with her. And then, of course, in church.
- 13:46I did some stuff in church, you know, my grandma had us in church and stuff.
- 13:49So and then high school and then I did sports. So I was into sports after that,
- 13:55like big time, big time basketball player.
- 13:57And then high school, high school, my drama teacher kicked me out.
- 14:03So I think I was a little too much for whatever he I don't know what it was.
- 14:09He just, you know, tapped me on my shoulder and said, you know, well,
- 14:12I think he was trying to say you need to go to an
- 14:14art school maybe but he didn't say that he just
- 14:17said you know i don't think this is i don't think i can
- 14:20help you here you know something like that something along
- 14:23the lines i gave him like this music tape that i worked really hard on like
- 14:27trying to the cassette the double cassettes and you know how you have to stop
- 14:31record stop record then try and get everything on i'd like work really hard
- 14:35because i had to do a monologue and music you know he just said give Give me
- 14:40whatever it is that you have of, you know, you doing.
- 14:44And I don't know. That's funny because I got kicked out of high school drama
- 14:48class, too, as well. Yeah.
- 14:49So I don't know. I think that's what the most talented people is not getting
- 14:52kicked out. He's like, I'm giving you an unofficial promotion. Now you go off. Right.
- 14:56Because that he in front of everyone tapped me on my shoulder. Yeah.
- 15:02You need to come with me. He's like, all right.
- 15:06And then you talk a lot about work with Robert Parham. I know you've worked
- 15:08a lot together. Y'all known each other for, what, close to 20 years now or something?
- 15:13Oh, since 2005. 2005, yes.
- 15:17He was actually my work manager, like a jobby job, jobby job.
- 15:22He was my work manager for about two years maybe, and then said that he was
- 15:27writing, had his own film company.
- 15:30That's actually my very first film, The Difference, that I don't know if he
- 15:35wants people to see or not, but it's not bad at all. It's just the beginning
- 15:39of me really on screen with lines and stuff.
- 15:42And that was the first time he was teaching me about, as I said,
- 15:46timing and product placement, because I think he has his own products that he
- 15:52has in some of his movies.
- 15:55And there was this barbecue sauce scene that I kept getting wrong.
- 15:59And he kept saying, cut, move your finger, cut, move your finger, cut.
- 16:03Can you turn? I was like, what is wrong with my finger? So my fingers were so
- 16:07long that it didn't matter what I did.
- 16:09The label was not fully shown.
- 16:13So but then I eventually, of course, I got it. But, you know,
- 16:16it was a really good film about different scenarios that he had written about
- 16:20real life situations that I think still resonate today, you know.
- 16:25And so how, so start off with 2005, what other projects have y'all,
- 16:29y'all, cause y'all collaborating on, I feel, I see your IMDB and stuff like that.
- 16:33It almost feels like he just has you attached to like almost like every film. Almost all of them.
- 16:37Yeah, I've done some outside work. So in the because I'm from the Bay Area.
- 16:41So prior to that, or even in 2009, I was a part of the Headbanger Accessory
- 16:48Movement, where these three beautiful young ladies from Oakland had this line
- 16:52of these earrings. It was all about face and earrings.
- 16:55And I did their fashion show. And they have three promo commercials,
- 17:00I want to say on YouTube right now, if you guys want to see them.
- 17:04So I did that with them. And then I did a web series with Razzmatazz Filmworks
- 17:09out there in the Bay Area.
- 17:12Just a trailer, but it was great training as well because, you know,
- 17:16everything is always, I'm always learning, you know, that's one thing.
- 17:19So I can't wait to teach others, you know, what I know. But yes,
- 17:24predominantly most of his movies, if you haven't seen the short,
- 17:28was one of the first, well, second projects I was on working with him.
- 17:33And that's called Buster Jones, the movie.
- 17:36Okay, I saw that. Yeah, we did that out in Santa Cruz.
- 17:40And you know any time in between it's just
- 17:42because i was just told no on other
- 17:46auditions or you know i just had
- 17:48to work you know i had to actually work a job
- 17:51or something like that you know just to pass time so yeah because i think that's
- 17:56something that people don't understand especially up here in northern california
- 17:59bay area even more so in sacramento is just how much there's not really a strong
- 18:03film industry up here so you got to do those types how you say And just the
- 18:09rejection is, it's crazy.
- 18:11I'm like the poster child for real for no, because even when I was 19.
- 18:17So also to, I trained with lights, camera action when I was 19,
- 18:2220 and 21 in San Francisco was called lights, camera action, where we did improv.
- 18:27I used to be really good at voices and accents and Brit, like Brit, Britain.
- 18:32I mean, I can do, I can do some things, you know, and even singing voice impersonations
- 18:37and, and just things like that. that so we did a lot of that.
- 18:40And then just work the scene, you know, just auditioning. And we all kind of
- 18:45did it together and stuff.
- 18:46So I'm in trained and did workshops and had acting coaches back then. So that was pretty fun.
- 18:53No, that's what I was going to kind of segue into and stuff like that.
- 18:57Because you say you had like a whole group that you guys would go out, audition with.
- 19:01It's kind of like you had like that support system and something similar that you got with Robert.
- 19:06Robert can you kind of like I guess just speak to to that
- 19:09the importance of having that that that network of
- 19:11people that is just close to you that could give you not only
- 19:15just guidance but that that support for not
- 19:18just the entertainment side of things but just just life in
- 19:21general the ups and downs yeah so I
- 19:25don't know I don't honestly there's a thing I don't know
- 19:27much about Robert's personal life because we
- 19:31really just work together well whether.
- 19:35I am in front of the camera or behind the scenes
- 19:39I've done some PA work some directors I
- 19:42mean I've done pretty much everything behind the
- 19:46scenes as well which is also a good thing like you
- 19:49know he is very instrumental in teaching
- 19:52that part of it as well so but
- 19:55it's always good to have you know a group
- 19:58of people that you know you can count on you know they'll show
- 20:01up you know they'll show out if they need to but
- 20:04you know you're there to produce you know
- 20:07some good quality work um to
- 20:10the best of our abilities and some will say hey do
- 20:13this do that a little differently or like yeah
- 20:16you knocked it out and it's it's really
- 20:19it's really welcoming in this industry you
- 20:22know yeah because it doesn't it happens so often
- 20:25a little bit but um it's always good
- 20:27to make friends and and if they are going to be loyal friends
- 20:30and they're all really willing to do the work
- 20:33right because you're just here to to make great films and
- 20:37so yeah i welcome that for sure but it's always a good thing to have yeah it's
- 20:43all yeah because you said with all the rejection that you have yes like it's
- 20:47also good thing how you talk about like you kind of keep it just like from strictly
- 20:51professional with somebody because I feel like family, if they're not really involved,
- 20:57but not only family, but friends as well, if they're not really involved in
- 21:01the industry or what this is.
- 21:04They don't really understand. They don't. And the time away,
- 21:08you know, is not understood.
- 21:11You know, it's just a lot. But it all works out. You know, if you stay grounded,
- 21:18you know, it all works out.
- 21:20So we share similar experiences just from being an artist's standpoint, being an actor.
- 21:25There but what's it like like if you want to give advice or just
- 21:29set some type of knowledge to to women that
- 21:33want to pursue this whether something's that you could just just your experience
- 21:37and stuff like that because I don't I'm not really because this is a male-dominated
- 21:41it is a male-dominated industry so I don't know I you know honestly I've been
- 21:46rejected more than I've been accepted in a lot
- 21:50of scenarios and auditions and things of that nature.
- 21:55Like my biggest, I think my biggest, and this is really quick,
- 21:58but the biggest network that I auditioned for, I auditioned for MTV's Road Rules back in the day.
- 22:04And I've definitely auditioned for Tyra Banks' America's Next Top Model.
- 22:08I think I did that twice in the Bay Area.
- 22:11So, and I didn't get it, but I just kept going. You know, that's all I can say
- 22:16to young people is to just keep going.
- 22:19And in between time, just keep mastering your art.
- 22:22If this is what you love, it's good to try new things.
- 22:25But just stay focused and just keep just keep practicing your art.
- 22:30Because when you know, 520 knows when there's going to be a yes,
- 22:35you know, there's going to be a yes, if you just keep going,
- 22:38if this is what you want to do.
- 22:40And morally grounded, you know, I mean, listen,
- 22:43art is art and we all love to be as women like sensual and sexual and all of
- 22:49those things, but not the quick way,
- 22:52you know, let it take time and grow into yourself as a woman.
- 22:59Yeah set boundaries know when to because you're
- 23:02going to hear no so many times just understand it's okay for you to
- 23:04say no like if there's something that comes up that pops up you'd be
- 23:07like i don't i haven't got work in so long this isn't really something that
- 23:11i'm comfortable with doing but i want to work you just got to understand that
- 23:15it's okay to say no sometimes yes it is and it's okay to say yes to know to
- 23:21people who are always told yes it's okay to say no and just let Let them whatever,
- 23:26you know, you can't control what they think about you, honestly.
- 23:29And most of it's not true. So, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 23:33Most of it's not true, you know, especially when you call other people out on
- 23:37things, just whatever it is. Most of it's not true.
- 23:40You know, you just have this opinion about it or you have actual facts,
- 23:43but it's just not true. You know, so you just got to just rise above all that.
- 23:48Nice. And so you said you had auditioned for entire bases, like in America's Next Top Model. Yes.
- 23:54Once we talk about that, but that also just your modeling journey in general, did you start modeling?
- 23:59Well, you was active for since a child. So you saw that you just gradually got into doing modeling?
- 24:03Link well so this is the thing i was never ever really
- 24:06tall enough to do like runway right so
- 24:10i think it was like five eight or nine and above and i'm barely i'm five almost
- 24:15five seven so i knew that all the modeling that i would get would probably be
- 24:20either in print or magazines or something like that but i still went out 2004
- 24:25she still has those archives she was definitely in the
- 24:28bay area i don't know if you've been to the great mall in
- 24:31milpitas but you have to go there it's
- 24:34it's just this phenomenal mall it's super huge
- 24:37but i did in 2002 and then 2004 was my last audition for that but i mean i still
- 24:44just like went for it i don't know i maybe she changed the height requirements
- 24:49i think she made some changes maybe towards the end but i don't know i was too
- 24:54late for that. But it was a great experience. Trust me.
- 24:57I'm on those audition tapes if she has them archived. Yeah, for sure.
- 25:03Yeah. Well, they do like the behind the scenes, like the documentary of like
- 25:07the whole history of America's Next Top Model. You'll just pop up in there and stuff like that.
- 25:11Yeah. But I was 17 in Alameda.
- 25:14Norma Payton Henning signed me, but that was really short lived because shortly
- 25:18after that is when I did the lights camera action that really took us around
- 25:23the Bay Area and I gained some experience.
- 25:25That's how I found MTV's Road Rules.
- 25:29And I didn't get that either, but that's all right. But I remember just standing
- 25:35in those massive lines, just massive lines.
- 25:39I didn't even know this many people existed in San Francisco.
- 25:42But we're out there auditioning and coming back to the office still with our heads held high.
- 25:49And what can we do next to...
- 25:53You know to to to fix i mean you know what
- 25:56can we do next for our next audition to make ourselves stand
- 25:59out a little bit more yeah it's always just about taking taking that experience
- 26:03adding on to and then like say just pushing for the next one yeah push it for
- 26:09the next opportunity that's what no means next opportunity so yep yep and then
- 26:14that's a good one yeah see yeah yeah see next,
- 26:18opportunity yeah i don't know where i got that from but i heard it from somebody
- 26:21i took it that I'll pass it all to you.
- 26:23Thank you. I'm going to pass that on to you. Next opportunity.
- 26:27You, so you do mostly print. I see some of the work that you had done,
- 26:30like the photographer, I saw most of your pictures were like vert, right?
- 26:34Or some of them I saw. Yes. So I have work with, there's a Sacramento photographer
- 26:39who's absolutely amazing.
- 26:42Tori Scroggins photography. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. He does good headshots.
- 26:45Yeah. Tori does amazing work and he's so creative.
- 26:49Yes, just a few others that I've done just to help build.
- 26:53And when I was younger, just to help build resumes or just build mine resume.
- 26:58But really just in the past year, yes, Vert and I did two shoots together.
- 27:03We just did two last year and then it just got picked up by so many of them.
- 27:09I was like, whoa, what is this, Bert?
- 27:11But he's just like, let's just roll with it, you know? So we are going to do more soon.
- 27:17Soon, soon, soon. And you've been published, published in like magazines and
- 27:21stuff like that. Published, yeah.
- 27:22Yeah, those are on my link tree though, too. If you guys go to my Instagram,
- 27:26go 1Nikea underscore Nicole and click on my link tree. You may have to just
- 27:31purchase a digital copy, which I think is like seven. I don't know.
- 27:35It's not that expensive.
- 27:36But support, support. That's the most important. Yeah, it's just support.
- 27:38There's, I think, seven, six or seven of them on there and also a Christmas edition as well.
- 27:45So I was very proud of that because we did it. Yeah, we did a Christmas shoot
- 27:49and I was just unsure of what I was.
- 27:51You know, when you're just unsure of what you're wearing, those are the ones
- 27:54that are that are going to do some things.
- 27:57Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I was very unsure. where i was like i don't know about
- 28:00you know i don't know but he's like no let's do it this is this is gonna do
- 28:04some stuff yeah the christmas one i did see the christmas one and i was going
- 28:08scrolling through and stuff like that and i was like they had like the picture
- 28:11of like all the models and stuff like that i was like look at my like but yours
- 28:15definitely popped out it popped out,
- 28:17probably because i was the only one of color yeah maybe yeah that that that
- 28:22that too yes Yeah, she was the black Mrs. Claus.
- 28:24Yeah, it was in there. Yes. And I was excited to do all of that.
- 28:29You know, I'll take it. You know, I'll take it because we put it out there for
- 28:34everybody. But that's just who picked them up.
- 28:37So does that stuff like that into your mind?
- 28:40Like when you're like on these like these film sets and acting,
- 28:45do you see these portfolios and stuff like that?
- 28:48There's not too many people of color. a lot of times. I feel like it's getting
- 28:52better now, you know? But it's still just this.
- 28:57Like I said, we're representing something that's bigger than us when we're putting
- 29:03together these film projects.
- 29:05It's tricky because, I mean, I don't know, there may have been a point or a
- 29:08time where just people of color, this just wasn't what they wanted to do.
- 29:13You know, that can also, I also thought of it that way.
- 29:17However, it is, yeah, there was a very strong lack of diversity for a lot of projects.
- 29:25Projects, me personally being sent all over the place because I'm like, I'm blind,
- 29:30but they're, you know, they have me doing all these other things that feel as
- 29:34though, you know, I might be capable of doing, which I'm, I'm very proud of
- 29:38everything big and small that I do always.
- 29:42So I don't know. I, every time I go into a room, I see someone that looks like
- 29:47me, at least one or two people.
- 29:49And that, I don't know if that's good or bad, but I'm sure there There was a
- 29:54time when there were none.
- 29:55Yeah. So, you know, yes, I've seen numbers increase, definitely.
- 30:00And, you know, your writers and your directors, if they're just solely making
- 30:04movies for Black people, yeah, everyone show up and support.
- 30:10Okay. Yeah. Nice. And do you have a favorite? Favorite?
- 30:15Modeling shoot that you had been on okay yeah
- 30:17this is past Christmas one that I mean you
- 30:20know that was really fun because I never done a Christmas shoot
- 30:23before and I you know I mean you just
- 30:26have to put yourself into that space of
- 30:29Christmas the space and my birthday's in December too so I
- 30:32had to like just become this Christmassy person versus
- 30:36you know if I was just modeling an outfit or you
- 30:39know just a fashion thing but Christmas has a character
- 30:42to it so I had to like bring a character to it
- 30:45so that was really pretty much one of
- 30:49the funnest that i've been to so far and when did they when did
- 30:52you shoot that because it was it wasn't in december it was in december was
- 30:54it december yeah it was in december it was probably right after
- 30:58my birthday's december 3rd so it's probably like on the 8th okay okay yeah it
- 31:02was probably like on the 8th yeah that's cool little birthday gift yeah it was
- 31:05like on the 8th and so yeah and then um i got the notice that i got into these
- 31:09publications so i you know i'll take that too yeah what was that like where
- 31:13you You just like flip through a magazine and then you're just like, that's me.
- 31:16Yeah. So, I mean, personally, I've only purchased one of them.
- 31:20And yes, it is very awkward because I have brothers.
- 31:23So sometimes I'm like, yeah, I'm the only girl and I'm the baby.
- 31:27So sometimes I'm like. Like who took this picture?
- 31:30No, but sometimes I'm like, I mean, I know my oldest brother used to change
- 31:35diapers, but still, you know, I'm different now.
- 31:40It's just like, and then like, you know, I don't know. I don't think about it,
- 31:44but I think about it. But I just don't want my brother.
- 31:48It's like you don't think about it, but you think that other people are thinking
- 31:50about it. Yeah. Well, this them in particular, right?
- 31:55I don't want them to see my nipples or anything like that. But I mean, look, I'm an adult now.
- 32:00So art is art. Art is art. Art is art. What can you say?
- 32:07And then so what is it like also like not only just see yourself in like magazines,
- 32:10But now, like, also, like I said, with the acting, working in films,
- 32:14like, because I said, the maddest hell is at the IMAX.
- 32:16Do you get, like, a different rush from seeing yourself in a magazine compared
- 32:19to seeing yourself, like, on the big screen? Oh, yeah. It's so different on the big screen.
- 32:24I think this is our second or third showing on the big screen.
- 32:30So I did go out to Las Vegas and there was a screening there.
- 32:34And that's when I first met Cinda.
- 32:37Cinda Williams. Williams and I was just in awe of her because who has not seen Moe Better Blues?
- 32:43And, and then I have these shoes that, you know, so we were going out to dinner and,
- 32:48And, you know, she wanted to take off her heels. Right. So I had this rental
- 32:51car. I was like, oh, I got these shoes in my car, like these flats,
- 32:54you know, that I drove in and stuff.
- 32:55And so I gave them to her and I wanted her to sign them.
- 32:59I don't think she signed them, but she still had her feet in them.
- 33:01And then I took them back. So I still have them on my closet.
- 33:05Like these are Cinda, Cinda Worthy's, you know.
- 33:08But it is it is different to see a magazine, though, because then because because
- 33:14you always have it there, you know, you keep looking through it.
- 33:16If you watch a film, you watch a film, you get this rush.
- 33:19And then, you know, in an hour or two, the film is over. And so it's a little
- 33:25different, but I love them both.
- 33:27I love them both. I love them both. So and it's good to see people around and their reactions to it.
- 33:34So I'm just looking forward to doing more. Yeah.
- 33:37Yeah. And you get that overall for the most part. I assume people like support
- 33:41what you're doing, the people closest to you. Yeah. Nice. Nice. Yeah, absolutely.
- 33:45Yeah. I am just overwhelmed with had a great week after, you know,
- 33:51winning that trophy. I was like, oh, my gosh, I had a really great week after that.
- 33:55And still to this day, because I'm here, you know. So, yeah, everyone is like,
- 34:01you know, yes, you've been working towards this for a very long time or,
- 34:04you know, just congratulations or, you know, hugs and kisses and stuff.
- 34:10Yeah. Is that that validation?
- 34:13Yeah. So where is the trophy? Where do you keep the trophy at now?
- 34:16Yeah. So I have this mantle.
- 34:19Well, both of my parents are in spirit right now. So I have this area,
- 34:24you know, that I dedicate to them.
- 34:25So I just put it up there next to them.
- 34:29Yeah they're looking up and having like oh that's my
- 34:32baby yeah see so on the speech I really wanted to
- 34:35you know I wanted to say so much but then
- 34:37I couldn't because I knew they were there in spirit and I really wanted
- 34:40to say you guys can't see them and I can't see them but I know that they're
- 34:44here you know I really wanted to give that moment yeah so thank you for this
- 34:49opportunity because you know I was like oh what did I what was I doing yeah
- 34:52that was that was the Oscar moment right there we was like tears pour yeah so
- 34:56next time hopefully there will be more to come there will be more Plenty more, plenty more.
- 34:59Yeah, and I'm just going to have to get better for y'all.
- 35:03Yeah, yeah. That's it. Keep growing. Yeah, just got to keep getting better.
- 35:07Yeah. And I know you're going to have plenty of opportunities because you got
- 35:09a couple of interested projects coming up that I really want to get into and talk about.
- 35:14Okay. So we have Mama Don't Take No Mess.
- 35:18And then we have Cocaine Roach. Yes. And I fell out of my chair when Rob called
- 35:24for that. Yeah, because I have a small role in here, but I was supposed to play
- 35:28another role that was a little bit bigger and better.
- 35:31And I just said, I don't know.
- 35:34Yeah. You know, like, I don't know.
- 35:37I know this is going to be a great film, but I didn't know how to dedicate myself to it, right?
- 35:43Because that would have taken some research, too, and I think a little bit of
- 35:46training to get that right.
- 35:48And so I have a role in there. and actually
- 35:52the thirst so tori scroggins is
- 35:55in that one too in cocaine roach we actually did
- 35:58we're still doing a vampire film called the
- 36:01thirst okay so we've definitely i think we filmed about 75 percent of that i
- 36:08don't know rob can if he's able to comment or watch if my daughter's on facebook
- 36:13he's gonna be he's gonna be he's gonna be we're gonna interview him on a podcast
- 36:16soon So I think we're about 75,
- 36:2080 percent done with the thirst.
- 36:22And so I was able to work with Tori again in Cocaine Roach.
- 36:26So I have this cameo. I have a really cute cameo in there.
- 36:30And so, yeah, that's a that's always a great one.
- 36:34And yeah, I don't know. I don't know. I saw the trailers to to some of them
- 36:39and I've helped on a few different sets with that as well.
- 36:41So it should be it should be a really fun film action I think it's action because
- 36:46Rob loves action yeah yeah that cocaine roach I just like you take the you take
- 36:51the aspect of cocaine bear and you just replace it with roaches and it's there's
- 36:56a few other ones too I think there's like cocaine um.
- 37:01Yeah, there's a couple. Yeah, there's a couple. Like Cocaine Crocodile.
- 37:04Yeah, and I said Roach, though. Rob Roach. Yeah.
- 37:08Yeah, he thought it would be funny. And that's fine. Yeah. And still filled with action.
- 37:13Elyse Hollywood Evans is in that one as well. Gary L. Turner,
- 37:18who won Best Supporting Actor, is in there as well.
- 37:21Skeet Skeet is in that one. That's his name. Skeet.
- 37:26That's his name. Oh, Skeet Skeet. All right. Skeet. And yeah,
- 37:30it should be fun. There's going to be some laughs in there.
- 37:33I'm sure there's going to be lots of butt kick in and just like a good old time.
- 37:38Elise really, really does a great job in this one.
- 37:41Cool. And what do you do? Like both you play in front of the camera and behind
- 37:45the camera as well? Yes. Okay. Oh, absolutely.
- 37:48I have to sometimes, you know, not because I'm forced to, but I have to be involved with something.
- 37:55Yeah. You know, whether if it's lighting, sound, whatever, whatever it is that,
- 38:00you know, is needed sometimes, especially I don't have anything else to do.
- 38:05I'm like, can I just come on set and help you guys out a little bit if my role is done on set?
- 38:10You know, but yeah, I love to do both.
- 38:13No, that's cool. Because I said
- 38:14being on a being on a film set or even like you say, put it on a play.
- 38:17It's just like you're just being around family the whole time.
- 38:20I mean, you just, you just really want to soak up that atmosphere and that environment
- 38:23and that energy because like once, once it, once it wraps and everything is
- 38:27done, you just be like, yeah, it's done.
- 38:30What am I going to do now? Yeah. So yeah, I just try and involve myself with,
- 38:34with a lot. And, and I have a few projects. I think I'm a.
- 38:38Hmm. I want to create my own film and direct and, you know, write,
- 38:43obviously write my own scripts.
- 38:45And and I've just been working on those for a very long time as well.
- 38:49So now is my now is my time to just start reaching out to people and,
- 38:54you know, making the connections that I really need to make to make to make more films. Yeah.
- 39:00No, I definitely think, say, just from winning the award,
- 39:04having all these films working, like I said, both in front of the camera,
- 39:08behind the camera, you definitely have the resume now to go out,
- 39:12like I said, do whatever it is that you want to accomplish, whether it's like
- 39:15going out, find an agent, you know, some type of representation.
- 39:18Do you want to join the union, be a member of the Actors Guild? Oh, absolutely.
- 39:21Yeah, absolutely. I may be eligible already and not even know it.
- 39:25Yeah. Yeah. So I may already be and I'm switching, looking for a new management,
- 39:31you know, just new management.
- 39:32I'm just doing things a whole new way now.
- 39:36So, yeah. Nice. Nice. And then you also, I don't know if you still are,
- 39:40but saw like on your TikTok, I think it was that you like an ambassador for. Yeah, for Just Strong.
- 39:46So Just Strong is just a clothing line for women, everyday women who,
- 39:52you know, just go through every day, the life's ups and downs.
- 39:57And wearing that shirt just keeps us, reminds us to just be strong.
- 40:02You know, you're strong, just be.
- 40:04You know, you don't have to do anything extra. And I've been.
- 40:08I've been working with them on and off for the past couple of years,
- 40:12but now I may start doing a lot more with them.
- 40:15So, yeah, I've been slacking on that a little bit, but I need to get.
- 40:19It's all good. You're busy.
- 40:21When you wear so many hats, it's hard to dedicate the time to everything.
- 40:26I've been slacking a little bit on that. It's all good.
- 40:27They'll be OK. Once you come back, you let them know, like, oh,
- 40:30you just let you know I won this award and I got all this going.
- 40:32And there's a discount code, too.
- 40:35I believe it's on my Instagram or if you check out.
- 40:37I think it's like an IKEA 03 or something like that.
- 40:41I might have to. I'll double check that for you guys. And it'll be on my Instagram
- 40:45or my Facebook. But there is a checkout code.
- 40:48You know, if you go, it's different workout clothes because it's like,
- 40:52you know, it's that time away from home or, you know, when you're really in
- 40:58your self-care mode and working out, having going for a walk in something.
- 41:02Comfortable you know that's really what it is okay
- 41:06and what all goes into the process of becoming an ambassador
- 41:09for this one in particular i think
- 41:12i had to write something like what is does it mean to be a strong or what does
- 41:19it mean to be a woman who juggles life like if you have children if you are
- 41:23married you know you're working you have a career i think i had to write something
- 41:28for them Okay, cool. So yeah, you get exemplified.
- 41:31Yeah, I think they reached out to me like, we like your look,
- 41:34you know, we like something. And then they sent me these email questions.
- 41:37And I think, I got to double check that, but I think I had to write what I thought
- 41:42it meant to be a strong woman in this world today.
- 41:46Yeah. So you exemplify what it is that they're looking for. You're just like,
- 41:50yeah, this is what we're looking for. Cool. Yes.
- 41:53Awesome. And then, so one thing I always do before we like, you know, wrap.
- 41:57The episode we're not gonna do it yet but just just the heads up
- 42:00just let you know i do like what we call them out rush more okay so
- 42:03that's gonna be like your top four actresses or filmmakers
- 42:06or models just you know people who who inspired
- 42:10you or who you saw on tv or movies or in
- 42:12the magazines that inspired you or motivated you to
- 42:15to to pursue this career but uh before
- 42:18we get on today i said we had the cocaine roach uh the
- 42:21thirst that's coming out soon yes mama don't take
- 42:24mama don't take no mess i saw the trailer for that that was some like 70s
- 42:27like blaxploitation like badass pam greer type
- 42:30of yeah and we just did the trailer
- 42:33for it and i think i'm pretty sure there's a script but
- 42:36it's really all about schedules right now um
- 42:39it's really all about scheduling because he robert
- 42:43is really specific about who he wants to play this and
- 42:46that and this and that so i think sometimes it's really all about scheduling um
- 42:49getting those actors in you
- 42:53know and taking the time with these independent feature
- 42:56films or feature films so it's really all about um
- 42:59scheduling and you know
- 43:02other than that yeah yeah so but the character like
- 43:05i saw like the characters they are all some like some some
- 43:08badass women so i've seen so i've seen you with two different lights
- 43:10i've seen you as this old lady getting dying and then
- 43:14now you just like this badass chick with this gun and stuff like that
- 43:17vampire i think there's also another other
- 43:20film that's being in production right now in the bay area
- 43:23i don't know if i'm supposed to talk about it we decided.
- 43:25To decide the nda or something like that i don't i.
- 43:28Know a little bit but not too much but.
- 43:31I didn't ask what i can and can't say about it or at least my role in it so.
- 43:36I know there's something there for me i'm just you know you're just it's like
- 43:40just show up to wait sometimes you know in this business so there's that and
- 43:45then did i say i was a vampire So you'll see me as a vampire and I have a really cool promo pic for that.
- 43:52Yeah. Old Lady Vampire. Buster Jones was the Pam Greer because my counterpart
- 43:57was the Farrah Fawcett in that film or in that short.
- 44:02Yeah. Cocaine Roach. I don't think. Yeah. Nothing in there.
- 44:07Just a cameo of it's more like a Stanley thing.
- 44:11You know, you go in, you know, you see this person and then they're out.
- 44:14But there's no small roles, no small roles. Yeah, no small roles. everybody
- 44:18plays a part in telling this whole story because you like i said you did miss
- 44:21cresswell it was like i used to have a small role but it was enough for people
- 44:25to recognize it and you win yes best supporting actress so as long as you do
- 44:29your thing you put in the work and stuff like that you know you you never know
- 44:32what could happen yes okay so yeah like a so we,
- 44:37cocaine roach yeah i just just the name of that alone i just can't see it's
- 44:41gonna it's gonna draw Draw people in.
- 44:44Right. Yeah. Yeah. It's going to bring people in. And I think it's going to do extremely well.
- 44:49Yeah. Just probably because of the name. But there's going to be so much in
- 44:54it that you're going to see action wise comedy.
- 44:58Just all of that. All your favorite characters, actors that you see in most
- 45:02of Robert's movies are going to be in there doing their thing again.
- 45:06You know, just in there shining and bringing characters to life.
- 45:09Because who i say marley because marlin is in that movie marlin kennedy he was
- 45:14yes he was yeah me and him did a short film probably back in like 2015 called
- 45:20like the two gamers so like what i was,
- 45:22going through like it is basically just two movie about two best friends one
- 45:26dude was the slacker stoner person that was me and then marla was just like
- 45:30this this you know not uptight but just very like by the book type of person
- 45:34and stuff like that and we're just waiting in line to kind of, like,
- 45:37buy this video game. It is, like I said, it's a short film.
- 45:41You know, it co-starred Petrie Byrd, who was the bailiff off of Judge Judy.
- 45:46But like I said, it's good to see...
- 45:49Like him like i said just start like when we worked together as a short film
- 45:53now him still doing still acting still doing his thing it's like just how small
- 45:57of a circle how small of a community this is to where like we could always just
- 46:02fucking it's so easy to root for each other to want to see each other win because
- 46:06it's it's a beautiful thing with like i said just,
- 46:09for a meeting you at the film mixer i'm like well i don't really know who you
- 46:13are or stuff like that but then i said doing my research and then now find out
- 46:16how many different type of connections as we all truly have and stuff like this.
- 46:20Being a part of this field community is...
- 46:23We should all be working all the time. We all should be.
- 46:26Yeah, for as much like confrontation or like beef and friction that we have, we all know each other.
- 46:33But if we don't, at some point in time, we're going to know each other.
- 46:36So just get along with everybody, man. Just get along with everybody.
- 46:40Support everybody's dream and stuff like that. It's so easy. So easy.
- 46:45That's the easy part. Yeah, that's the easy part. For some reason,
- 46:49it's the last thing that people want to do,
- 46:51but it's the easiest thing you can do is give someone a word of encouragement
- 46:55or pick someone up that needs a ride,
- 46:59you know, that doesn't have a ride to set or, you know, just anything like that's
- 47:03kind of the easier part, you know? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
- 47:08Okay, cool. So now we're going to get into it. We're going to get into the Mount Rushmore.
- 47:13I think I have drum rolls on here, but I ain't set them yet.
- 47:15But yeah, the Mount Rushmore, your top four entertainment business influences.
- 47:22Okay. Well, listen, growing up, my movie selections were just all over the place,
- 47:31but I was definitely into Marvel and DC.
- 47:34So Tim Burton was one of the very best of that.
- 47:39I feel Tim Burton creatively, stuff looks so different to him and it translates
- 47:46different on screen, the creativity that he has. So I really like him.
- 47:52And like I said, also to like to Stanley, just the DC and the Marvel universe of characters.
- 47:59I remember cutting school and going to see Batman for the first time,
- 48:03like 10 times in a row, you know.
- 48:06So who else? Oh, I love a female wise like Ava DuVernay as far as her ability
- 48:15to storytell and to capture just moments in time,
- 48:21especially for people that look like us.
- 48:23She is like phenomenal at that music or like either one. Either one.
- 48:29Yeah, because I know you sing. I know you sing as well. So musically, like I just get into rap.
- 48:34I'm out. I don't know. I'm like a Bay Area, West Coast kind of gal.
- 48:38So, you know, Ice Cube is definitely up there. I mean, I don't know.
- 48:43Like before I listened to just everything Bay and West Coast.
- 48:47I love Easton. I love it. You know, but initially, you know,
- 48:51that's what like feeds to me there because that's where I grew up in the Bay Area.
- 48:55So that's that's that. That spiritually, definitely like Maya Angelou,
- 49:00you know, every other day, if not possible, I try to just,
- 49:05you know, read something of hers or just to see her face because,
- 49:11you know, what she's been through and how she has really changed,
- 49:16you know, the way black people love on themselves. Yeah.
- 49:20So it's her movies and actors, definitely like Halle Berry fan.
- 49:25Queen Latifah fan, Whoopi Goldberg.
- 49:29Like I would really love to meet Whoopi.
- 49:33You know, just your classics. Yeah. Whoopi Goldberg is definitely an underrated talent.
- 49:39I don't know if I want to say underrated because she has so many awards,
- 49:42but I don't feel like she's celebrated like the way she she should be from being
- 49:47just like I say, a stand up comedian,
- 49:48doing the serious acting for like the color purple, being an activist for the community,
- 49:55always, you know, speak it up for, you know, people of color, black people.
- 49:59And then like I said just all the awards she's
- 50:02won from an Oscar Emmy Grammy Tony it's just and for comedy I like Melissa McCarthy
- 50:08you know I gotta just watch a whole bunch of of you know have a lot of favorites
- 50:15that are just you know just for comedy definitely Melissa McCarthy I mean.
- 50:20There's just so many. That's just so many. Okay. Yeah.
- 50:24We'll take that. So we have, that was about like maybe like three or four different
- 50:27Mount Rushmore's, but we take, we got the, we got Tim Burton on the DC side.
- 50:32You got Stan Lee on the Marvel side, the superheroes kicking ass.
- 50:36We have for the spiritual side, we have Maya Angelou. And have you ever heard
- 50:40her speak like in person?
- 50:41Did you get the opportunity to? I've not had the opportunity to, to hear that.
- 50:46Yeah. I've seen her one time. She was doing like a,
- 50:49like a college tour, just speaking i saw her up at um chico
- 50:52state and i was all like i didn't really understand it then but i like what
- 50:56she had passed away and then i you know i was seeing everybody like she did
- 50:59she was this and she's about how did she resonate with the crowd there it was
- 51:04interesting because like it's because it was chico i mean so chico's predominantly not black
- 51:09brown no no
- 51:12white yeah it is right
- 51:16it is in the middle of the woods it's uh
- 51:18it's just this i mean anybody that is for the
- 51:21most part like uh any other type of ethnicity outside of white is probably because
- 51:24it's just a college town so they're there to go to school but like to actually
- 51:28live there be a part of the community they're like nah this ain't us that's
- 51:31not for us but just like i said just being but there was but there were there
- 51:35was white people there too they were just is like taking it in and just like, oh wow.
- 51:39So she resonated to, I mean, she spoke to black people, but she resonated to
- 51:44just everybody, which is something that I definitely took away.
- 51:48And then we had Halle Berry, of course. Yeah, everybody loves Halle.
- 51:52Halle, Queen Latifah, because I like her.
- 51:55You know she just gets in there and does
- 51:58it yeah yeah she was one of the first uh like
- 52:01female rappers to transition to having a
- 52:03successful acting career like yeah and
- 52:06then like with her and ice cube those that like kind of at the same time but
- 52:09they was both and they like the the roles that they've gone on to do was so
- 52:13different than the people who they really were like if you was to see like queen
- 52:17latifah as like the equalizer you wouldn't look at her right you would look
- 52:20at her but she was a rapper you know right or say with like ice cube you wouldn't
- 52:24look at ice cube I like Vivica.
- 52:26I mean, I, you know, all of those films just growing up, you know,
- 52:29really, really transformed something in me.
- 52:33And I remember watching Set It Off and like Vivica's character was really on
- 52:39screen the first time I had seen anyone, especially a woman get shot in the
- 52:44back as she was running away.
- 52:45Yeah. And I just don't think anyone picked up on that. But I definitely did.
- 52:50Because I was like, Dad, why'd they do that?
- 52:52Why did he just do that to her?
- 52:56And so a lot of those roles, you know, all of these iconic actors now have done
- 53:03a really, really great job.
- 53:04And she has like 250 films on her IMDb.
- 53:08Mm-hmm yeah no she has a lot
- 53:11that is uh she is i mean you may not
- 53:13see her on the the big screen like that as much or anything like that but her
- 53:17her if you go to vivica's imdb it is it is yes it is like something like crazy
- 53:26like that so she's just taking that is that is something that i would definitely
- 53:30like you know strive to her,
- 53:33I don't know if I mind about always being in these big blockbuster productions.
- 53:38I would love to at least be in one.
- 53:41But, you know, you just want to keep working, you know, and just making whatever
- 53:46feels good to you. But that's a lot.
- 53:48Yeah, it's a lot. I mean, that's a testament to really what having an active career is.
- 53:52Because I feel like sometimes, especially with the Hollywood,
- 53:55it's kind of glitz and glamorized to where you have to be in these big Hollywood movies.
- 53:59Movies or you got to be on these big network tv shows
- 54:02and that's what qualifies you as being um a successful
- 54:05actor but it's not it's really just about putting in the work yeah
- 54:08and being consistent you know that's yeah that's
- 54:12a consistent check yeah yeah she'll take those
- 54:15ones yeah so it's a consistent check it's a good enough story
- 54:18i'll be okay i'll do it so she's probably at the top because
- 54:21i can't get past just 200
- 54:24and just i can't get past it you know like so yeah
- 54:28she's definitely someone that i just strive to like you know
- 54:31i want to do 300 now yeah yeah yeah yeah awesome so so yeah before we do wrap
- 54:37up this episode was there anything that we want to i think we got everything
- 54:40but was there anything that you wanted to hit on touch on before we before you
- 54:42do wrap up this episode no just thank you guys all for the love and the support and.
- 54:49I'm just still in awe of everything it's only been a week but i'm still reveling
- 54:53in it and And just go and check out all of my projects. I really,
- 54:58really, really appreciate it. Yes.
- 54:59So, yeah, Mad as Hell. Mad as Hell is on, I believe, like Tubi right now.
- 55:03Tubi and Prime, I think. Yeah. Yeah.
- 55:06And support independent filmmaking. That's really what it's about because they
- 55:10tell some really dope stories.
- 55:12They put a lot of heart, effort into what it is that they're making.
- 55:15And then, like I say, those are the type of films that you'll look at and you'll
- 55:19be able to watch and say, oh, okay, this is how I could make it at the level we're on, man. Yes.
- 55:24You know, so I don't need no frickin' $10 million budget or all this or Disney or, you know.
- 55:31Yeah, just have to keep creating and keep creating.
- 55:36What are your social media where people follow you at? Sure,
