Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Dummy, if you get free roses, it's a trap. War
- 0:05Speaker 1: of the Roses starts right now on John Jay and Rich.
- 0:08Speaker 1: All right, we're getting ready for War of the Roses.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Let's say hello to Raina. Good morning, Raina.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Good morning.
- 0:13Speaker 3: Hi.
- 0:13Speaker 4: Hi.
- 0:14Speaker 5: So War of the Roses, you think someone's cheating on you.
- 0:16Speaker 5: So we're going to call them up, tell them they
- 0:18Speaker 5: want a dozen red roses. They can send them to
- 0:19Speaker 5: anybody they want for free. Okay, so hopefully it picks you.
- 0:22Speaker 5: What's your story, Raina?
- 0:23Speaker 4: Well, just for full disclosure, I've been cheated on before,
- 0:27Speaker 4: so I think I'm a little raw and it just
- 0:30Speaker 4: kind of, like, messes with me. I've just been noticing some, like,
- 0:34Speaker 4: kind of strange behavior from him. So he's come home
- 0:37Speaker 4: a few times with, like, red lipstick or, like, lip
- 0:42Speaker 4: gloss on his scrubs. And it's not like an everyday occurrence.
- 0:47Speaker 4: It's kind of here and there, which is, like, even stranger,
- 0:50Speaker 4: I think.
- 0:51Speaker 3: And then.
- 0:53Speaker 4: I've noticed the scrubs sometimes kind of have like a
- 0:56Speaker 4: real like floral smell to them that's like not anything
- 1:00Speaker 4: that I've smelled before. And so he's been a little distant,
- 1:06Speaker 4: like he comes in and he just like kind of
- 1:09Speaker 4: goes straight to his room and he's kind of like
- 1:12Speaker 4: too tired to talk, but yet he can just like
- 1:14Speaker 4: scroll on his phone for hours it seems like. And
- 1:17Speaker 4: he's just like, yeah, it's works crazy and exhausted. And
- 1:20Speaker 4: I'm like, okay, you're too exhausted to talk to me,
- 1:22Speaker 4: but you can just like call your attention on your phone.
- 1:25Speaker 4: And so it's stressing me out. And I, I, I
- 1:31Speaker 4: don't know. I've become paranoid. I'm like checking everything of
- 1:34Speaker 4: his just to see if I can find any clues
- 1:36Speaker 4: of anything.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Hey, I think we've all seen enough Grey's Anatomy to know,
- 1:42Speaker 1: or doc, or ER to know that these nurses, these
- 1:45Speaker 1: doctors like to play around.
- 1:47Speaker 2: And you don't come home from the hospital smelling like floral.
- 1:50Speaker 3: No.
- 1:50Speaker 4: You don't come home smelling like antibacterial wipes.
- 1:54Speaker 6: Why not just flat out ask him, hey, what's up
- 1:57Speaker 6: with the lip gloss on your scrubs?
- 1:59Speaker 4: The reason I haven't is because I think I kept
- 2:02Speaker 4: waiting for him to drop other clues, and if I
- 2:04Speaker 4: brought up the lipstick, I think he would have been like, oh, haha,
- 2:07Speaker 4: make some excuse, and then.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Cover his tracks more.
- 2:10Speaker 6: I was making out with another nurse. Right, because when
- 2:12Speaker 6: you bring it up, you give them an opportunity to
- 2:14Speaker 6: defend themselves. That means you can't catch them red-handed.
- 2:17Speaker 2: You need a sneak attack.
- 2:19Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 2:20Speaker 1: What's his name?
- 2:20Speaker 4: His name is Nate.
- 2:22Speaker 1: All right, we're going to get Nate on the phone.
- 2:23Speaker 1: We're going to see who he sends flowers to. Hang tight, Raina.
- 2:26Speaker 1: War of the Roses continues next with John Jay and Rich.
- 2:29Speaker 1: I don't know how you found us. But I'm so
- 2:32Speaker 1: thankful that you did. It's John Jay and Rich.
- 2:36Speaker 3: If you put it down, I'm going to pick it up.
- 2:38Speaker 1: All right, we are in the middle of War of
- 2:40Speaker 1: the Roses. You got Raina here.
- 2:41Speaker 5: She thinks Nate, her boyfriend, who's a nurse, is cheating
- 2:44Speaker 5: on her. Now, she's been cheated on before, and she's
- 2:46Speaker 5: seen this weird behavior.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Well, the biggest thing. He comes home with red lipstick
- 2:50Speaker 1: and smells like perfume.
- 2:51Speaker 6: I would say that's check-in meat for the bus there.
- 2:54Speaker 5: I mean, you think about all the TV shows that
- 2:55Speaker 5: involve hospitals. I mean, sex sells in all these hospital shows.
- 2:58Speaker 5: These nurses and doctors are always hooking up. So we welcome.
- 3:02Speaker 1: You, Raina. Are you ready?
- 3:04Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm ready.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Kyle Lundfog, are you ready?
- 3:06Speaker 6: I'm ready.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Let's do it.
- 3:12Speaker 3: Hello? Hi there.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Is Nate available? Yeah, this is Nate.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Who's this? Oh, perfect. Hi.
- 3:18Speaker 2: So my name is Sydney. I'm with this new company.
- 3:19Speaker 1: We're called J & R Flowers.
- 3:20Speaker 2: We're doing kind of like a social media campaign called
- 3:23Speaker 2: Post for Petals. So you've been chosen, and here's what
- 3:26Speaker 2: it means for you. We send our most romantic bouquet.
- 3:29Speaker 2: It's a dozen red roses. It's totally free, and you
- 3:31Speaker 2: get to send it to anyone you want. No, no, no.
- 3:35Speaker 3: Thanks.
- 3:36Speaker 2: I know it sounds really weird, but we really are
- 3:38Speaker 2: just looking for a little bit of marketing. So a
- 3:40Speaker 2: little shout-out on whatever social platform you use the most
- 3:43Speaker 2: is really all it's going to take. And I don't
- 3:45Speaker 2: need any personal info like credit card and we're not
- 3:47Speaker 2: going to send you a bill.
- 3:48Speaker 3: No. Okay. No credit card. No, nothing like that.
- 3:51Speaker 6: Right.
- 3:52Speaker 2: And if you've got someone special in your life, I'm
- 3:53Speaker 2: telling you, these are very impressive. They are super sexy.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Like they are amazing.
- 3:59Speaker 4: Um, Okay.
- 4:00Speaker 3: You know what? Screw it.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Yeah, sure.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Why not?
- 4:03Speaker 3: Okay.
- 4:03Speaker 2: And here's the coolest part about it is we actually
- 4:06Speaker 2: send like a voice note that comes with the roses.
- 4:09Speaker 2: And so really the only thing that I'm going to
- 4:12Speaker 2: need you to do is in just a second, I'll hit,
- 4:14Speaker 2: I'll hit record and you can just say whatever it
- 4:17Speaker 2: is you want, whoever you're sending them to, to hear.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Does that make sense? Uh, yeah.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:22Speaker 1: All right. Perfect.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Okay.
- 4:24Speaker 1: So I've got this ready at the tone. Please record
- 4:27Speaker 1: your message.
- 4:30Speaker 4: Hey, baby.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Thinking of you. I hope you're having the best day
- 4:34Speaker 3: and I look forward to seeing you.
- 4:35Speaker 1: When you get home. Perfect.
- 4:37Speaker 2: And then who are we addressing these to?
- 4:40Speaker 3: That's going to be my girlfriend, Raina.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Raina's going to love that.
- 4:43Speaker 3: R-A-Y-N-A. Yeah.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Very sweet.
- 4:49Speaker 6: Oh, my God.
- 4:49Speaker 4: Nate, are you serious right now?
- 4:54Speaker 3: Sorry, Reina, babe?
- 4:55Speaker 1: What the hell?
- 4:56Speaker 3: What's going on? Why are you on the phone?
- 4:58Speaker 4: No, I'm actually the one who's confused right now. Why
- 5:01Speaker 4: would you send me flowers?
- 5:02Speaker 3: What do you mean, why? You're my girlfriend. What's happening
- 5:06Speaker 3: right now?
- 5:07Speaker 4: Well, I mean, you said all those sweet things, but
- 5:09Speaker 4: I just, I don't understand how you can say that
- 5:12Speaker 4: when I've been finding lipstick on your clothing. Seriously.
- 5:17Speaker 6: Wait.
- 5:18Speaker 4: Like, I've seen the lipstick. You can't deny it. They're
- 5:20Speaker 4: on your scrubs. Like, who is kissing you at work
- 5:24Speaker 4: or after work?
- 5:25Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 5:25Speaker 4: Like, what is happening on your scrubs?
- 5:27Speaker 3: Okay, sorry. Hold on. What is going on right now?
- 5:30Speaker 3: Why are we talking about this on the phone? What
- 5:32Speaker 3: was the flowers? What the heck is going on?
- 5:35Speaker 4: Well, I called John Jay and Rich, and I thought...
- 5:37Speaker 4: I called them because I thought you were cheating on me.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Can we do a thing called War of the Roses
- 5:42Speaker 1: on our radio show?
- 5:43Speaker 6: Hi.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Oh, babe. You called a radio show to catch me cheating?
- 5:48Speaker 4: Well, I just didn't know what to think. I mean,
- 5:51Speaker 4: you came home, you smell like, like, woman's perfume, and you,
- 5:54Speaker 4: and then there's, like, lipstick on your scrubs, and then you, like, you, you, like,
- 5:57Speaker 4: lock yourself in the bedroom for, like, hours, and I'm just, like, I'm,
- 6:01Speaker 4: I'm so confused.
- 6:02Speaker 3: Oh, my God. Okay, babe, are you, are you talking
- 6:05Speaker 3: about Linda? Linda?
- 6:08Speaker 4: Who the hell is Linda?
- 6:09Speaker 1: Oh my, okay.
- 6:10Speaker 4: Who's Linda?
- 6:11Speaker 3: This is insane.
- 6:14Speaker 4: What's insane? Who's Linda? Who am I supposed.
- 6:18Speaker 3: To know who Linda is? Linda is 89 years old.
- 6:23Speaker 1: You sicko.
- 6:25Speaker 3: She's in hospice. She's a resident at the Senior Living Center. Oh.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Linda.
- 6:32Speaker 1: So you take care of her.
- 6:34Speaker 6: And you're not having an affair with her, right? Just
- 6:36Speaker 6: to be clear.
- 6:37Speaker 3: No, she has dementia. She thinks I'm her husband, Frank.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Oh, Frank.
- 6:44Speaker 4: My God.
- 6:45Speaker 1: You must look like Frank. That's so sad.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Her third husband, she sometimes confuses me with him. She
- 6:52Speaker 3: grabs my cheeks, you know, and she wears this bright
- 6:55Speaker 3: red lipstick. She tries to go in for a smooch.
- 6:57Speaker 3: I try to get out of the way. That's why
- 6:59Speaker 3: it ends up on my collar. Oh, my God.
- 7:02Speaker 5: Oh, my God.
- 7:03Speaker 4: Oh, please stop.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 7:07Speaker 3: Yeah, one time she actually, she grabbed both sides of
- 7:11Speaker 3: my face, she grabbed my cheek and she said, Frank,
- 7:13Speaker 3: you still got it.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Oh, Linda.
- 7:19Speaker 4: But the perfume, like.
- 7:22Speaker 3: Yeah, that's Linda. She wears way too much, and I
- 7:26Speaker 3: can still smell it on me after I shower. I mean,
- 7:29Speaker 3: it's overwhelming.
- 7:30Speaker 6: Raina, you're going to have to march right into hospice
- 7:32Speaker 6: and give Linda what for. Listen, Linda. Listen, Linda.
- 7:37Speaker 4: Stop pissing on my man.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Frank is my man. Yeah, and then she'll probably leave
- 7:43Speaker 1: hospice pretty quickly after that.
- 7:45Speaker 4: So humiliating. I.
- 7:49Speaker 4: Oh, my God. I'm so embarrassed.
- 7:52Speaker 3: It's totally fine. I mean, honestly, it's, I mean, granted,
- 7:57Speaker 3: I don't want to be accused on the radio of anything,
- 7:59Speaker 3: but it is kind of cute that I'm being accused
- 8:02Speaker 3: of having an affair with a woman who has a
- 8:04Speaker 3: life alert button.
- 8:09Speaker 4: Oh, my God. I mean, you have to admit, like,
- 8:12Speaker 4: it looks bad, right? Like, I'm not crazy.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Sure, but you could have just asked me.
- 8:19Speaker 4: Oh, my God. You know I've been cheated on before.
- 8:26Speaker 4: I am so sorry.
- 8:27Speaker 1: I know, babe.
- 8:29Speaker 3: I know. Okay, you have to trust me.
- 8:31Speaker 1: I love you.
- 8:32Speaker 3: That's why I send you the flowers. You really, I promise,
- 8:35Speaker 3: I'm not going to cheat on you. I'm not that guy.
- 8:38Speaker 3: You don't have anything to worry about.
- 8:40Speaker 4: I feel like such a heel. I am so sorry.
- 8:45Speaker 1: So, interesting happy ending.
- 8:47Speaker 3: Can you still get her flowers, you guys? Can we?
- 8:50Speaker 1: No, we have to hang up now.
- 8:51Speaker 2: We don't.
- 8:52Speaker 6: Get Linda some flowers.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Send them from Frank. I'm sure she would.
- 8:56Speaker 6: Really appreciate that.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Thanks for going on the air with us, you guys.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Thank you, Raina. Happy ending for you. Thanks, Nate. You're
- 9:02Speaker 1: a very nice guy.
- 9:03Speaker 3: Of course.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Thanks for doing what you're doing. You have a very tough,
- 9:06Speaker 1: thankless job.
- 9:07Speaker 4: And I'm the crappy girlfriend.
- 9:08Speaker 1: No, no. You guys are going to survive this.
- 9:10Speaker 6: No, no.
- 9:11Speaker 1: You're very sweet.
- 9:11Speaker 3: No, I'm... It is very, very sweet.
- 9:14Speaker 1: Don't worry about it. That's War of the Roses with
- 9:17Speaker 1: John Dean Rich.
