- 0:01Speaker 1: Good morning, family. Good morning. God bless you. Welcome back
- 0:03Speaker 1: to the Morning Devo. Listen, this is the last day
- 0:07Speaker 1: of the week. Well, before the weekend, right? Friday. And
- 0:12Speaker 1: we're back in the building, man. So, I'm happy we
- 0:16Speaker 1: made it this far in the week, right? And God
- 0:20Speaker 1: positions us, right? Puts us in places that we never
- 0:24Speaker 1: thought we would be until we trusted in Him. Believed
- 0:29Speaker 1: in His Word. Believed in Him. Amen. So we're here.
- 0:34Speaker 1: So I hope you enjoy your day today. It's a
- 0:36Speaker 1: good start, right? We're starting off devoting some time in
- 0:40Speaker 1: the Lord's presence. Amen. In his word, celebrating his day, right?
- 0:46Speaker 1: The morning Devo. So listen, thank you so much for
- 0:49Speaker 1: coming through and try to be here every weekday, 5.30 a.m.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Eastern Standard Time live. Amen. And we're here. Brother Ricky,
- 0:56Speaker 1: I see you. Good morning. My brother, God bless you.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Welcome back to the morning Devo, my bro and my friend.
- 1:02Speaker 1: So we're going to be in Hebrews chapter number 8,
- 1:04Speaker 1: verses 6 and 7 today. And I'm calling this one
- 1:08Speaker 1: the new covenant. I was going to call it the
- 1:10Speaker 1: better covenant because literally that's what the word says, the
- 1:14Speaker 1: better covenant. But then I was thinking of somebody, some
- 1:18Speaker 1: people that I know that were on a show on
- 1:24Speaker 1: my network years ago and they didn't like that term.
- 1:29Speaker 1: A better promise, a better covenant, they didn't like that.
- 1:32Speaker 1: So I thought about that real quick. So I just
- 1:35Speaker 1: put the term, the new covenant. But when you read
- 1:39Speaker 1: the scripture, it does say it's a better promise, better covenant. Amen.
- 1:43Speaker 1: So we'll pray during the prayer or after the prayer.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Excuse me. Not during the prayer. After the prayer, let's
- 1:49Speaker 1: share this out to as many people as possible. Thank
- 1:52Speaker 1: you for everyone who shares this on their own profiles,
- 1:55Speaker 1: shares it on their group pages. Thank you so much.
- 1:57Speaker 1: I'm really grateful for that. And I'm humbled by that,
- 2:00Speaker 1: that you share this out. The goal is for us
- 2:03Speaker 1: to get into the word of God for ourselves and
- 2:05Speaker 1: to get the gospel out to as many people as possible.
- 2:08Speaker 1: That's what the goal is, man. It's very simple and plain.
- 2:12Speaker 1: This is not for any kind of other motive, but
- 2:16Speaker 1: just to get the gospel out and get the message
- 2:18Speaker 1: of the word of God out there to as many
- 2:21Speaker 1: people as possible. So thank you so much for helping
- 2:23Speaker 1: that happen. So Father, I thank you so much for today.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Thank you for the morning devotion. Thank you, Lord God,
- 2:30Speaker 1: for every single person that's listening and watching right now.
- 2:33Speaker 1: I pray I had your protection over their hearts, their minds,
- 2:35Speaker 1: their lives, in the powerful name of Jesus. I pray,
- 2:38Speaker 1: Lord God, that you would do a great work and
- 2:40Speaker 1: a mighty work in the name of Jesus over their
- 2:42Speaker 1: hearts and minds. I pray, Lord God, that you would
- 2:45Speaker 1: continue to teach us more and more about who you
- 2:48Speaker 1: are through your word by way of your Holy Spirit.
- 2:52Speaker 1: I pray I had your protection over myself. My wife,
- 2:55Speaker 1: our children, our family, our whole entire household, from the
- 3:00Speaker 1: very youngest to the very oldest, and every single person
- 3:02Speaker 1: in between. I pray that same protection, Psalm 91, over
- 3:06Speaker 1: every single family that's watching, every family member, every single
- 3:10Speaker 1: person that's watching or listening right now. I had your
- 3:12Speaker 1: protection over them as well. I set forth your arcane
- 3:15Speaker 1: angels right now to annihilate the tactics and plans over
- 3:19Speaker 1: the enemy right now in Jesus' holy name. Over the enemy.
- 3:24Speaker 1: overcoming the enemy over every single one of us that
- 3:27Speaker 1: he tries to kill, steal, and destroy. I pray the
- 3:30Speaker 1: power of God pushing back darkness with the marvelous light
- 3:34Speaker 1: of Christ. I pray this by faith, knowing that you
- 3:36Speaker 1: have given us the new covenant, that you have given
- 3:39Speaker 1: us a better covenant, and we will see that in
- 3:42Speaker 1: your word. In Jesus' holy name, I pray this by faith.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Amen to the amen. If you agree, just say amen,
- 3:49Speaker 1: and let's move forward, man. There's power in agreement, right?
- 3:53Speaker 1: especially when we're agreeing with the word of God. That's
- 3:55Speaker 1: the whole truth right there. Agreeing with the word is
- 3:59Speaker 1: the power, secret sauce that we have as believers in
- 4:03Speaker 1: the Lord is that we believe and we follow. And
- 4:07Speaker 1: the enemy can't do anything with that. Nothing. He can't
- 4:11Speaker 1: move forward as long as we're moving forward, right? He
- 4:15Speaker 1: can't get over. He can't get anything over us when
- 4:19Speaker 1: we're under. the Lord Jesus Christ. That's amazing right there.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Hebrews chapter eight, verses six and seven, the scripture is
- 4:27Speaker 1: plain and it says, now, however, so therefore you have
- 4:31Speaker 1: to read what's before this. Now, however, Jesus has received
- 4:36Speaker 1: a much more excellent ministry just as the covenant he
- 4:42Speaker 1: mediates is better and is founded on, here it goes,
- 4:46Speaker 1: better promises. I didn't say it. The scripture says it. Amen.
- 4:51Speaker 1: I believe it. I honor it. I respect it. Verse seven.
- 4:55Speaker 1: For if that first covenant had been without fault, no
- 5:00Speaker 1: place would have been sought for a second. Is that
- 5:04Speaker 1: plain enough? God is telling us, listen, if it was
- 5:08Speaker 1: all good, then we wouldn't need a new promise. If
- 5:12Speaker 1: it was all good, we wouldn't need the Messiah to
- 5:14Speaker 1: come save us. If it was all good, then we
- 5:18Speaker 1: want to need these better promises. There will be no
- 5:20Speaker 1: place for a second covenant or a new covenant. Amen?
- 5:24Speaker 1: But we have it. Amen? And that's all glory to God.
- 5:27Speaker 1: We have it. Brother John, I see you. Good morning.
- 5:30Speaker 1: God bless. Welcome to the Morning Devo, my bro, my friend.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Hope your day's going well. Amen? We woke up, right?
- 5:37Speaker 1: So that's a great start to the day, especially when
- 5:40Speaker 1: we're getting into the Word of God. He woke us up.
- 5:43Speaker 1: He kept us overnight. Amen? Protected us, guided us, guarded us.
- 5:47Speaker 1: So that means he's not done with us. So let's
- 5:49Speaker 1: be prepared for what he has for us today. Amen.
- 5:53Speaker 1: So a new or better covenant, a new covenant, the
- 5:56Speaker 1: first covenant, if it was without fault, the Bible says
- 6:00Speaker 1: it clearly, then he would not gave us a new covenant.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Plain and simple. What's going on with this t-shirt, man?
- 6:05Speaker 1: It's all like all over the place. Amen. So listen,
- 6:13Speaker 1: if you ever try to fix something in your life,
- 6:16Speaker 1: I try to fix a lot of things. And if
- 6:20Speaker 1: you're trying harder to fix that, whatever it is, tell
- 6:24Speaker 1: me how that goes sometimes. Sometimes you try so hard
- 6:27Speaker 1: to fix something that's broken and we just can't get
- 6:31Speaker 1: it done. So we have to call a pro who
- 6:37Speaker 1: is known to fix what we're trying to fix that
- 6:40Speaker 1: we can't figure out. But there's people who know how
- 6:42Speaker 1: to fix things better than we know how to fix things. Well,
- 6:46Speaker 1: Jesus is the ultimate fixer-upper. He has fixed what was broken.
- 6:52Speaker 1: He fixed what was wrong. He paid our sin debt.
- 6:58Speaker 1: His sacrifice was more than enough. Once and for all.
- 7:01Speaker 1: We spoke about that last time. But when you're trying
- 7:06Speaker 1: to fix something, and then you realize you're falling back
- 7:12Speaker 1: in the same old ways of brokenness. This thing that
- 7:16Speaker 1: you're trying to fix in your life, amen, whether it's
- 7:20Speaker 1: external or internal, remains broken when we're trying to do
- 7:23Speaker 1: it in our own effort. Might fall even back into
- 7:28Speaker 1: old habits if we're not careful. But sometimes we focus
- 7:34Speaker 1: too much on changing ourselves or changing our behavior that
- 7:40Speaker 1: we forget that God desires to transform our hearts. He's
- 7:45Speaker 1: the mediator, right? Between God and man. He has a
- 7:52Speaker 1: new promise for us. That's the new covenant. That's why
- 7:55Speaker 1: the Lord came to share the kingdom gospel, right? The
- 8:00Speaker 1: kingdom of God. He preached the kingdom of God. So
- 8:05Speaker 1: what we had in the old covenant, evidently, although it's
- 8:11Speaker 1: the word of God, absolutely, But it was an old
- 8:15Speaker 1: covenant and God felt, and he did this, created a
- 8:19Speaker 1: new covenant built on better promises. A lot of people
- 8:23Speaker 1: don't like this because they're like, what do you mean? Well,
- 8:26Speaker 1: I've read it, found it on better promises. That's what
- 8:30Speaker 1: we're reading. Pastor Felix, God bless you. Good morning. God
- 8:35Speaker 1: bless you. Welcome to the Morning Devo, my bro, my friend.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Pastor Felix says we have to let God do the
- 8:41Speaker 1: transformation of And stop trying to be God and let
- 8:45Speaker 1: him do the work, not us doing the work. Yes.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Sometimes it's not that easy, right? I'm a thinker, so
- 8:53Speaker 1: I'm trying to figure things out all the time. And
- 8:55Speaker 1: I have to remind myself, listen, my thinking is not
- 8:59Speaker 1: like the way God thinks, right? His thoughts are not
- 9:02Speaker 1: the same as my thoughts. But I have Holy Spirit, though.
- 9:04Speaker 1: And as long as I align with the Spirit of
- 9:07Speaker 1: God and with the Word of God, then I'm on
- 9:09Speaker 1: the right thinking path. Then I'm on the right track.
- 9:13Speaker 1: then we could make things happen, right? In the right way.
- 9:18Speaker 1: So when we read Hebrews chapter 8, verses 6 and 7,
- 9:22Speaker 1: God's reminding us that Jesus Christ is the mediator of
- 9:27Speaker 1: a new promise, of a new covenant, right? He established
- 9:33Speaker 1: this new covenant, founded it on better promises. So it
- 9:39Speaker 1: got better. Old covenant, Beautiful, right? From Genesis to what's
- 9:45Speaker 1: the last chapter? Malachi or what's the last chapter in
- 9:50Speaker 1: the Old Covenant? Malachi. Amen? I'm just telling myself, see
- 9:57Speaker 1: how far you can see that I read the Old Covenant.
- 10:01Speaker 1: I read the New Covenant. Amen. More than the Old Covenant.
- 10:06Speaker 1: But I try to balance that out. Amen. Let's just
- 10:09Speaker 1: see if I was right. Because you know that would
- 10:11Speaker 1: bother me if you know me. Yes, Malachi. It's the
- 10:15Speaker 1: last book of the Old Covenant. And theologians say that
- 10:21Speaker 1: there was a silence, which, you know, I don't know
- 10:25Speaker 1: about that, but theologians say there was a silence between
- 10:29Speaker 1: the Old Covenant and New Covenant hundreds of years. You know,
- 10:34Speaker 1: I'm not a theologian, so I don't know what that means.
- 10:38Speaker 1: All I know is that Malachi was the last book
- 10:41Speaker 1: of the Old Covenant. Then we have Matthew introducing the
- 10:45Speaker 1: genealogy of everything that happened prior And then Jesus is
- 10:50Speaker 1: going to show up in the new covenant, which was
- 10:53Speaker 1: established on better promises. Amen? I'm just happy about that.
- 10:59Speaker 1: That God saw to it that he left the best
- 11:05Speaker 1: for last because Jesus is coming back with a new
- 11:09Speaker 1: heaven and a new earth. Right? So therefore, we're coming
- 11:12Speaker 1: back with him. Right? And whoever's left here, we're going
- 11:18Speaker 1: to be part of the judgment. Jesus Christ is the
- 11:21Speaker 1: judge and we're going to judge angels and the people
- 11:24Speaker 1: who are left here with the Lord Jesus Christ. He's the,
- 11:27Speaker 1: he's the lead. He's the line of Judah. He's the
- 11:29Speaker 1: leader of it all. Amen. So we're not going to be,
- 11:33Speaker 1: you know, negotiating with people. We're not going to be like,
- 11:37Speaker 1: please and begging people to change their lives. No, we
- 11:41Speaker 1: need to change our lives today, right now. Tomorrow's not promised.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Yesterday's gone. Haven't you noticed yesterday's gone? But we have
- 11:49Speaker 1: right now, today. Today is the day of salvation, the
- 11:52Speaker 1: Bible says. So the old covenant revealed things, right? It
- 11:56Speaker 1: reveals God's holy standards. But it could not bring the
- 12:02Speaker 1: complete transformation that Jesus accomplished through his sacrifice. Understand that.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Jesus is the completion of Jehovah. People don't like that either,
- 12:15Speaker 1: that statement. Jesus is the completion of the commandments. People
- 12:19Speaker 1: don't like that either. Why people don't like these statements
- 12:24Speaker 1: about Jesus? Because then that would mean that Jesus is God.
- 12:30Speaker 1: That would mean that he is who he said he is.
- 12:35Speaker 1: That means it would mean that the prophets were correct
- 12:39Speaker 1: on this Mashiach Magid, on this prophet of this man
- 12:42Speaker 1: that came to save the world. That he's the wonderful counselor,
- 12:46Speaker 1: prince of peace, almighty God. A lot of religious people
- 12:50Speaker 1: don't like that. A lot of religions don't like that.
- 12:53Speaker 1: A lot of isms and schisms out there, they don't
- 12:56Speaker 1: like that. Because then it proves once and for all
- 12:58Speaker 1: that they're wrong. And Jesus said he is the way.
- 13:02Speaker 1: There is no other way. The truth. There is no
- 13:05Speaker 1: other truth. And the life. There is no other life
- 13:08Speaker 1: apart from the true life in Christ Jesus. And people
- 13:12Speaker 1: do not like that. I'm telling you. So, whether I
- 13:18Speaker 1: like it or whether you like it or not, this
- 13:20Speaker 1: is the gospel truth. Jesus has received a much more
- 13:25Speaker 1: excellent ministry. Much more excellent ministry. Through Christ, listen to this,
- 13:32Speaker 1: through Christ, we have something greater than a list of
- 13:37Speaker 1: rules and regulations to follow. Hello? So, all the legalistic
- 13:42Speaker 1: church's all the legalistic pastors and bishops and apostles that
- 13:47Speaker 1: use part of this legalistic system, repent, get out of that. Amen?
- 13:55Speaker 1: What are you doing? What, we're saved by the law
- 13:58Speaker 1: now all of a sudden? Or we're saved by grace
- 14:02Speaker 1: and faith in Christ Jesus alone? I know it's a
- 14:07Speaker 1: control process, a control method, that a lot of leaders
- 14:12Speaker 1: want to use the law to control the flock. You know,
- 14:17Speaker 1: a law over this, a law over that. They pick
- 14:19Speaker 1: and choose the law, right? They use the tithe, which
- 14:24Speaker 1: wasn't a law right before, but now it became a law,
- 14:29Speaker 1: the tithe. They pick that, and then they kind of
- 14:32Speaker 1: like forget all the other ones. They pick and choose.
- 14:35Speaker 1: We can't do that. Let's pick Jesus. He chose us first. Amen? Amen.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Let's just follow Jesus, the one who completed it all,
- 14:46Speaker 1: who was sinless, right? Who was able to forgive our sins,
- 14:51Speaker 1: that he made claims and proved his claim to be God. Preacher,
- 14:57Speaker 1: my brother, don't be afraid to preach it. People need
- 15:00Speaker 1: to stand up firm in the world. That's what Pastor
- 15:02Speaker 1: Felix says. Yeah. I mean, everybody else is coming out
- 15:06Speaker 1: with their beliefs. Why would we be hiding ours? Why
- 15:10Speaker 1: wouldn't we say what the word says, that we have
- 15:13Speaker 1: a better covenant? Amen? We have something that's built on
- 15:17Speaker 1: a better promise, better promises of God. Because Jesus came
- 15:23Speaker 1: and had a much more excellent ministry. No one is
- 15:27Speaker 1: like the Lord. No one compares to him. Right? No
- 15:31Speaker 1: one is above him. Right? No one has done what
- 15:35Speaker 1: he has done for us, which is the ultimate sacrifice. Nobody. Nobody.
- 15:40Speaker 1: So through Christ Jesus, we have something greater. Through Christ Jesus,
- 15:45Speaker 1: we have a better covenant. Through Christ Jesus, we have
- 15:48Speaker 1: eternal life. Through Christ Jesus, we have salvation through him.
- 15:54Speaker 1: So although some religious people say, you guys idolize Jesus Christ,
- 16:00Speaker 1: that you guys are worshiping an idol and his name
- 16:03Speaker 1: is Jesus. No, we're not worshiping an idol. We're worshiping
- 16:06Speaker 1: the true, living, holy, righteous, loving God. And the perfect
- 16:09Speaker 1: reflection of the Father is Jesus Christ. Even he said
- 16:13Speaker 1: it himself. He said, when you see me, you see
- 16:15Speaker 1: the Father. Amen? I think that's plain. But to those
- 16:20Speaker 1: who don't have the Spirit of God, I understand that
- 16:22Speaker 1: doesn't mean nothing to you. The gospel is gibberish, the
- 16:26Speaker 1: Bible says, to those who are what? Perishing. Well, for
- 16:29Speaker 1: those who are alive in Christ, this makes a whole
- 16:32Speaker 1: lot of sense. Thank you, Jesus, for saving us. Thank
- 16:35Speaker 1: you for opening up our eyes. Thank you for rescuing us.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Thank you for positioning us for a blessing. Thank you,
- 16:42Speaker 1: Lord God, that you have seated us already in heavenly places.
- 16:46Speaker 1: So through Jesus, we have something greater. We have a
- 16:49Speaker 1: relationship with God. We have the promise of forgiveness. We
- 16:53Speaker 1: have the opportunity to experience and to live new life
- 16:58Speaker 1: through his grace. There's really nothing we could do to
- 17:02Speaker 1: earn God's favor. There's nothing we could do even by
- 17:06Speaker 1: the law If we try to follow the law to
- 17:10Speaker 1: the T, we're going to fail every time. But the
- 17:13Speaker 1: Holy One that lives within every single child of God
- 17:17Speaker 1: completed the law. And He knows exactly how the law works.
- 17:23Speaker 1: And He knows how to rescue us from our own selves.
- 17:27Speaker 1: And He knows how to operate through the law because
- 17:30Speaker 1: He completed the law. As a matter of fact, He
- 17:32Speaker 1: wrote the law. He's God. Amen. Amen. He wrote the
- 17:36Speaker 1: law on our hearts. The law of the Lord is
- 17:38Speaker 1: written on our hearts. And eternity is written on our hearts.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Our DNA has eternity written on it. So we know
- 17:50Speaker 1: there's something more. When we were born, we were born
- 17:53Speaker 1: as a sin. And when we got older, when we
- 17:55Speaker 1: had the opportunity, when we started understanding what's right and
- 17:59Speaker 1: what's wrong, and then we were introduced to the Savior, amen,
- 18:03Speaker 1: Now we had the opportunity to be born again into
- 18:07Speaker 1: righteousness and holiness by the spirit and by water to
- 18:11Speaker 1: be born again. And now we walk in the kingdom
- 18:14Speaker 1: principles of God. Now we are in the kingdom of
- 18:17Speaker 1: God because of what Jesus did. It's all by his grace. Amen.
- 18:22Speaker 1: The word became flesh. Yes, Ricky. The word became flesh
- 18:26Speaker 1: and dwelt among his people and his people rejected him.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Not everyone, obviously. He had disciples. He had followers. He
- 18:34Speaker 1: had true followers of him. Amen. But his own people,
- 18:38Speaker 1: the Bible said, rejected him. Our own people right now
- 18:41Speaker 1: are rejecting us. Amen. You know, I'm a Latino Puerto Rican.
- 18:45Speaker 1: I get rejected from my Latino Puerto Rican culture because
- 18:49Speaker 1: I chose Christ. Some people are into other things in
- 18:52Speaker 1: my culture now. other spiritual things, and they despise Christianity.
- 18:57Speaker 1: They despise Christ Jesus. Why? Because they have no control
- 19:01Speaker 1: over him. And a lot of people who don't have
- 19:04Speaker 1: control over Jesus or other Christians, or they can't manipulate,
- 19:11Speaker 1: they can't do their spells and witchcraft and none of
- 19:13Speaker 1: that stuff, they're angry because none of their spells and
- 19:16Speaker 1: witchcraft work over God's people in the name of Jesus
- 19:20Speaker 1: I come against every witchcraft every spell over my life
- 19:24Speaker 1: and over every single life right now that's represented on
- 19:27Speaker 1: the other side of the screen or on the other
- 19:29Speaker 1: side of this mic in the powerful name of Jesus
- 19:31Speaker 1: we cast those spells down annihilate them and send them
- 19:35Speaker 1: back we call for repentance for those witches and warlocks
- 19:38Speaker 1: right now in the powerful name of Jesus repent you're
- 19:42Speaker 1: gonna fail if you do not repent you're going to
- 19:45Speaker 1: hell yes we say that boldly with love But we
- 19:49Speaker 1: know that's truth. Amen. Come up out of there in
- 19:52Speaker 1: the name of Jesus. The new covenant doesn't mean we
- 19:57Speaker 1: can live however we want. That's what the new covenant
- 20:00Speaker 1: is not about. It's not a ticket to be like, oh,
- 20:03Speaker 1: I'm in a new covenant now. God saved me. Let
- 20:06Speaker 1: me go back and party. That's not what it's for. Instead,
- 20:10Speaker 1: the new covenant means we no longer have to depend
- 20:15Speaker 1: on our own strength, right? To become who God has
- 20:20Speaker 1: called us to be. We're not doing that in our
- 20:23Speaker 1: own strength. At least we shouldn't be trying to do
- 20:27Speaker 1: anything on our own strength when we're becoming more and
- 20:31Speaker 1: more like Christ Jesus, right? We can trust God. We
- 20:38Speaker 1: can believe, we can hope in the Lord Jesus Christ.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Rely on Holy Spirit, God, and walk daily in obedience
- 20:47Speaker 1: because Holy Spirit is helping us walk in obedience because
- 20:52Speaker 1: of what Christ has already done for us. This is
- 20:55Speaker 1: a done work. Sister Joanne, I see you. Good morning.
- 20:58Speaker 1: God bless you. Welcome back to the Morning Devo, my sister.
- 21:01Speaker 1: So stop trying to do things on your own strength.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Stop trying to be perfect. Stop trying to earn God's favor.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Stop trying to be religious. Stop trying to be in
- 21:14Speaker 1: the law system. Stop trying to put yourself back into
- 21:17Speaker 1: a system that the Bible is telling us in Hebrews 8, 6,
- 21:20Speaker 1: and 7, that the covenant that Jesus is mediating is
- 21:25Speaker 1: better and is founded on better promises. Come on over
- 21:29Speaker 1: to this side and let the religious people figure it
- 21:32Speaker 1: out on their own because they're already rejecting the new covenant,
- 21:35Speaker 1: and they want to stay in the old covenant. I
- 21:38Speaker 1: know some people that literally said, we only need the father.
- 21:40Speaker 1: We don't need the son. Said that straight to my face.
- 21:44Speaker 1: And that's when I checked. We used to worship the
- 21:46Speaker 1: same Lord. And for whatever reason, they got us to
- 21:50Speaker 1: some movement that's only about the father. It's only about Yahweh.
- 21:53Speaker 1: It's only about Jehovah. They don't need the son, they said.
- 21:57Speaker 1: They said, take the book of John out and you
- 21:59Speaker 1: don't have any deity of Christ. which is false. You
- 22:02Speaker 1: have revelation. You have all the gospels. You have, even
- 22:06Speaker 1: in the old covenant, the father calling the son, God don't,
- 22:11Speaker 1: don't play those games. Amen. If you don't want to believe,
- 22:14Speaker 1: just tell me you don't want to believe in Christ.
- 22:17Speaker 1: And that's your decision. But don't try to say that
- 22:20Speaker 1: we only need the father because Jesus said, then that
- 22:22Speaker 1: would call, that would make Jesus a liar. Cause he said,
- 22:25Speaker 1: apart from me, you can't get to the father. That's
- 22:28Speaker 1: what Jesus said. So, That proves that people are angry
- 22:34Speaker 1: at Jesus, at what he said and who he is.
- 22:37Speaker 1: For whatever reason, I don't know the reasons. I don't
- 22:39Speaker 1: have time to get into it. But for whatever reason,
- 22:42Speaker 1: people are going around saying that they only need the father.
- 22:45Speaker 1: They don't need the son. Wow, that's amazing. You're in error. Repent.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Get up out of there. That way of thinking. Walk
- 22:53Speaker 1: daily in obedience because Christ Jesus sent his spirit to
- 22:58Speaker 1: live inside of us. To help us walk in this obedience.
- 23:02Speaker 1: So here's the good news. Your past is done. Your
- 23:05Speaker 1: past is your past. It cannot define your future. Your
- 23:10Speaker 1: past cannot recreate today. Right? And become your future. Your failures,
- 23:17Speaker 1: my failures, don't have to become our identity. Right? Sometimes
- 23:23Speaker 1: I think about, man, I messed up. Then I look
- 23:27Speaker 1: at today, I'm like, wait, when did I mess up? oh,
- 23:30Speaker 1: that was in the past. So what am I supposed
- 23:32Speaker 1: to do? Go back to the past and continue to
- 23:36Speaker 1: mess up or move forward from today and move forward
- 23:39Speaker 1: from today, right? We only have right now, this moment
- 23:43Speaker 1: to move forward. Your failures don't have to become your identity.
- 23:47Speaker 1: In Jesus, you know, forgiveness is available. In Jesus, we
- 23:53Speaker 1: have hope and that hope is alive. The Bible says
- 23:57Speaker 1: when you hope in God, that hope does not disappoint, right?
- 24:04Speaker 1: Your hope is alive and a new beginning is always possible, right?
- 24:09Speaker 1: The mercies of God follow us every day. You know,
- 24:13Speaker 1: it's a new day. That means we have new mercies.
- 24:16Speaker 1: We have new grace, right? We have the new covenant,
- 24:20Speaker 1: which is founded on better promises. For if the first
- 24:24Speaker 1: covenant had been without faults, No place would have been
- 24:29Speaker 1: sought for a second, right? It's obvious that God didn't
- 24:33Speaker 1: make no mistakes with the old covenant. The people of
- 24:37Speaker 1: the old covenant didn't want to recognize what God was
- 24:42Speaker 1: doing or they couldn't recognize or they would just like
- 24:46Speaker 1: the things of the nations. They loved the idols and
- 24:49Speaker 1: they were looking, God's people were looking at the other
- 24:51Speaker 1: nations and like, we want that. Remember, God wanted to
- 24:55Speaker 1: be their king and they said, nah, we want a
- 24:57Speaker 1: king like the other nations. So then God gave them
- 25:00Speaker 1: a king. And if you read the scriptures in the
- 25:02Speaker 1: old covenant, I believe King Saul was the first king.
- 25:06Speaker 1: And just see how that went. Why? Because it wasn't
- 25:10Speaker 1: God's design. It wasn't God's idea. That was man's idea.
- 25:13Speaker 1: And God is a God of love. So he's going
- 25:15Speaker 1: to allow us to move and have the freedom of choice.
- 25:19Speaker 1: We have a free will. And that's a loving God
- 25:23Speaker 1: that allows us to have this free will. Doesn't control us.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Doesn't force control over us, I should say. He allows
- 25:31Speaker 1: us to choose him willingly, not forcefully. Amen? So the
- 25:36Speaker 1: good news is your past doesn't have to define your future.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Stop trying to earn what Jesus has already made available
- 25:41Speaker 1: through grace, right? Draw closer to him. Trust his promises.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Trust his new covenant, which is founded on better promises,
- 25:51Speaker 1: and allow him to transform your heart from inside out.
- 25:54Speaker 1: So release the past. Stop allowing yesterday's mistakes to control
- 25:58Speaker 1: today's walk with God. Very important. Remember, remind yourself, wait,
- 26:04Speaker 1: I have a new promise and there's a new covenant.
- 26:06Speaker 1: There's a new promise, new covenant. Continue to remind yourself
- 26:10Speaker 1: that because it will keep you excited. It will keep
- 26:12Speaker 1: you looking in the scriptures. It will keep you looking
- 26:14Speaker 1: at God's promises because you know he's doing a new thing.
- 26:18Speaker 1: Trust God's promises. Believe that his grace is greater than
- 26:23Speaker 1: our failures. Believe And God's grace, knowing that his grace
- 26:29Speaker 1: is better than our affairs. Walk in the newness of life.
- 26:34Speaker 1: This is powerful. This is what no other religious people have.
- 26:38Speaker 1: We have the newness of Christ. We have the newness
- 26:41Speaker 1: of God. We walk in the newness. Haven't you noticed
- 26:44Speaker 1: that Christ believers, we walk differently, we move differently, we're
- 26:48Speaker 1: united in one purpose, one Christ, one church, one faith,
- 26:52Speaker 1: one baptism. Amen. Amen. One Lord, and he's the head
- 26:56Speaker 1: of the church, which is Christ Jesus, walk in the
- 26:59Speaker 1: newness of life, right? Let's let our choices reflect the
- 27:03Speaker 1: transformation Jesus is working within us and then move forward.
- 27:08Speaker 1: He's not looking for perfection. He's looking for followers. He's
- 27:11Speaker 1: looking for willing hearts. He's looking for available people, right?
- 27:15Speaker 1: Let's be available. The new covenant is not about us
- 27:19Speaker 1: becoming perfect. on our own efforts. The new covenant is
- 27:23Speaker 1: about trusting the perfect work of Jesus and allowing him
- 27:27Speaker 1: to change us day by day, right? Day by day.
- 27:32Speaker 1: So share this with someone, remind somebody that their past
- 27:36Speaker 1: doesn't have to define them and that Jesus offers a
- 27:40Speaker 1: new beginning, right? Just follow me, share this out, you know,
- 27:44Speaker 1: share this encouragement out to as many people as possible.
- 27:48Speaker 1: Let's have a great week and weekend. Amen. And let's
- 27:51Speaker 1: hope and trust in God's better promises. Amen. I'm out
- 27:54Speaker 1: of time. Have a wonderful weekend to all. Thank you,
- 27:58Speaker 1: Brother John. Thank you all for listening and hanging out
- 28:00Speaker 1: with me for these morning devos. Honor and privilege, man,
- 28:03Speaker 1: to be able to do this all these years. So
- 28:06Speaker 1: God bless you all. God keep you all. And remember
- 28:09Speaker 1: always that God is good. Peace.
