- 0:05Speaker 1: How about that We're back again yep to catch up
- 0:08with Country Weekly, where we dive into news and gossip
- 0:11from the world of country music. I'm your host, Ken Dawkins,
- 0:16and I'll be reading from various sources found online. As
- 0:19a reminder, RADIOI is a reading service intended for people
- 0:23who are blind or have other disabilities that make it
- 0:25difficult to read printed material. We'll begin with the first article,
- 0:29dated February ninth, from countrynow dot Com. Ella Langley makes
- 0:35chart history as Choosing Texas tops Billboard Hot one hundred.
- 0:41Ella Langley is celebrating another career defining moment this week.
- 0:45It was announced that her buzzed about hit Choosing Texas,
- 0:48has officially climbed to number one on the Billboard Hot
- 0:51one hundred, and this marks the first time she's ever
- 0:54claimed that top spot. With the achievement, Langley makes history
- 0:58as the first female artist to simultaneously lead the Hot
- 1:01one hundred, Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts. According
- 1:06to Billboard, only three other songs have previously accomplished the
- 1:09same feat Shaboozie's a Bar song, Tipsy Post malones I
- 1:13had some help featuring Morgan Wallen and Wallin's own Last Night. Additionally,
- 1:19the song has surpassed three hundred and ten million streams worldwide,
- 1:23earning RIAA Platinum certification and reaching number one on the
- 1:27US Spotify chart, Apple Music's US Songs Chart, and became
- 1:31the fourth country song by a female lead to top
- 1:34the Billboard Streaming Songs chart list in its thirteen year history.
- 1:39Her latest milestone arrived just days after Langley rallied fans
- 1:43for one final push to help her achieve the historic goal.
- 1:47Taking to social media, she emphasized how close the song
- 1:50was to reaching the top spot and explained to listeners
- 1:53that their help could make all the difference. You all
- 1:56put me in a position to do something only a
- 1:58few females in country music have ever done. She wrote.
- 2:00At the time, I'm being told we're neck and neck
- 2:03and getting the number one, and if we have one
- 2:05last push on iTunes, we might make country music history.
- 2:09Choosing Texas was co written and produced by Langley with
- 2:12Miranda Lambert, alongside producer Ben West and co writers Luke
- 2:16Dick and joy Beth Taylor. Lambert can also be heard
- 2:20singing background vocals on track Throughout the catchy tune The
- 2:23Alabama Native delivers a bittersweet tale of heartbreak, singing from
- 2:27the perspective of someone realizing the man she loves was
- 2:30never really hers as his heart is firmly rooted in
- 2:33Texas with someone else. She's from Texas. I can tell
- 2:37by the way he's two stepping around the room, and
- 2:39judging by the smile, it's written on his face. There's
- 2:42nothing I can do. It doesn't take a crystal ball
- 2:45to see a cowboy always finds a way to leave
- 2:47drinkin jack all by myself. He's choosing Texas, I can tell,
- 2:51she sings on the full chorus. The song serves as
- 2:55the lead single off Langley's forthcoming sophomore album, Dandelion, which
- 2:58is set to release on apri Looking Ahead, Ella Langley
- 3:02is gearing up to hit the road for the Dandelion Tour,

- 3:30the Problem Tour, and several other festival appearances. Meanwhile, as
- 3:35we jump over to countrycentral dot Com, Langley announces her
- 3:40new song be Her. Ella Langley has announced the release
- 3:44of a new song titled be Her, set to arrive
- 3:47this weekend. She previewed the track with a brief teaser
- 3:50clip on social media, offering fans an early look at
- 3:53a verse. In the snippet, Langley sketches a portrait of
- 3:56a self assured woman, opening with the line she drinks
- 3:59wine by the glass, not by the bottle. She ain't
- 4:01stuck on the past, ain't worried about tomorrow. The teaser
- 4:04continues with character driven imagery, describing someone who's a lover,
- 4:08a mother, a sister, and a wife who don't need
- 4:11validation or much of anything. B Her arrives as Langley
- 4:15continues the rollout of her forthcoming sophomore album, as we mentioned, Dandelion,
- 4:20that's executive produced by Langley alongside Miranda Lambert and Ben West.
- 4:25Langley has described the new record as her most personal
- 4:27and fully realized body of work to date. Next, Luke
- 4:32Combs announces new song b by You. Luke Combs has
- 4:37announced the release of a new single, b by You,
- 4:40set to arrive this weekend as part of the album
- 4:42due out March twentieth. The Way I Am Combe shared
- 4:46the clip with fans on social media, reviving excitement around
- 4:49a song that many first heard in snippet form last year. Early.
- 4:53Even in its early preview, b by You stood out
- 4:56as a trademark. Luke Comb's track built on sincerity in
- 4:59Southern im imagery a La Jean Boots, Sweet Home Holler
- 5:03and the like, with lines about waking up next to
- 5:06someone and finding beauty in the unfiltered moments. B by
- 5:09U follows the same spirit of his simple love songs
- 5:11like Better Together and Beautiful Crazy. B by You Marx
- 5:15Coomb's first release since the single Sleepless in a Hotel Room,
- 5:19and sets the tone for what's shaping up to be
- 5:21the biggest album of the spring in country music. This summer,
- 5:25Luke will hit the road on his My Kind Of
- 5:27Saturday Night tour, spanning stadiums the world over, with support

- 6:25For the North American leg, proceeds will benefit the National
- 6:27Immigration Law Center, supporting its work advancing and defending the
- 6:31rights and opportunities of low income immigrants in their families.
- 6:35The Heavy Pedal Tour follows a breakout stretch for Farrell,
- 6:39whose blend of American folk, country, and vintage jazz influences
- 6:43paired with her distinctive vocals and whimsical attitude has made
- 6:46her a true anomaly in country music. The upcoming dates
- 6:50continue her steady climb from cult favorite to international headliner,
- 6:54bringing her kaleidoscopic live show to an even wider audience
- 6:57in twenty twenty six. Unfortunately, close as she gets to
- 7:01our neck of the woods would be in Columbus, Ohio,
- 7:03June twelfth and thirteenth. Next, Megan Morony announces new single
- 7:09Cloud Nine. Megan Maroney announced on social media the last
- 7:14week that her new single, Cloud nine, the title track
- 7:17of her forthcoming third studio album of the same name,
- 7:20will be released or was released this week. In the post,
- 7:24Maroni wrote, this one's for the lover Girls. The full
- 7:27album is slated for release on February twentieth, and it
- 7:30will feature fifteen tracks, including previously released singles such as
- 7:34Gold Certified six months later and Beautiful Things. It will
- 7:38also see Marony join voices with Casey Musgraves and Ed Sheeran. Marony,
- 7:43who rose to prominence with the breakout smash Tennessee Orange,
- 7:47has become one of country music's fastest rising stars in
- 7:50recent years, earning multi platinum certifications and regular airplay. In
- 7:55support of the new album, Maroni will embark on the
- 7:58eponymous Cloud nine Tour, which begins May twenty ninth in Columbus.
- 8:02The tour includes multiple arena dates across North America, with
- 8:06additional stops announced in Europe and the United Kingdom later
- 8:10in the year. Now we jump on a water slide
- 8:13down to saving country music with the first article coming
- 8:16to his on February tenth, Vince Gill reveals new tour
- 8:21dates for twenty twenty six. Country Music Hall of Famer,
- 8:25renowned guitar player, part time member of the Eagles, and
- 8:27all around country music good guy, Vince Gill is continuing
- 8:31his celebration of fifty years in music by extending his
- 8:34twenty twenty six tour. Gill had previously announced a slew
- 8:38of dates for the summer, including a six day residency
- 8:41at the Rieman Auditorium. Now he's added more dates throughout
- 8:44the South, Midwest and New York. Joining Vince Gill on
- 8:48the road will be Moose Brown on keyboards, Edi dunlap
- 8:51on steel guitar, Jed Hughes guitar and vocals, John Jarvis keyboards,
- 8:56John Meeter guitar and vocals, Wendy Moten vocals, Jimmy Glahs bass,
- 9:00Billy Thomas drums, Jeff White guitar and vocals, and Charlie
- 9:03Worsham on guitar, along with numerous live appearances. Vince Gill
- 9:08has been releasing a new EP per month after signing
- 9:11a lifetime record deal with his label That's MCA Nashville.
- 9:16He released Brown's Diner Bar on January ninth, a third
- 9:19installment of the EP series. The idea is he'll release
- 9:22an EP for a month for the next twelve. Each
- 9:25EP features six new songs and revisits an old Gill classic.
- 9:30The newly released dates include Cincinnati, the only one near
- 9:33US at the Taff Theater on July seventeenth. Next, forty
- 9:39nine Winchester reveals new Dave cob produced album Change of Plans.
- 9:45We don't seem to be able to agree on much
- 9:47these days here in the good old US, but anyone
- 9:50who's heard forty nine Winchester tends to agree. These Virginia
- 9:53Boys are one of the best things going on in music,
- 9:56taking country and Appalachian influences and then bolstering then with
- 10:00the frontman Isaac Gibson's incredible soulful voice. That's why there
- 10:04is a tinge of anticipation in the air as they've
- 10:07just released a new song and announced that a new
- 10:09album is on the way. It's hard to believe this
- 10:12will be number six for the six piece band when
- 10:15Change of Plans is released on May fifteenth, but this
- 10:18one might be the most important release of their entire career.
- 10:22Partnering with new label MCA while also still working with
- 10:25their previous independent label, New West, Change of Plans will
- 10:29officially be the band's major label debut. It was also
- 10:32executive produced by Dave Cobb, who oversaw recording sessions at
- 10:36his studio in Savannah. It was an incredible honor to
- 10:40work with for the first time the great Dave Cobb
- 10:42and his crew to capture these sounds and stories while
- 10:45touring the world these past few years. The band says
- 10:48special thanks also to legend Nick Farrell for bringing all
- 10:51the elements of this journey together into one epic landscape
- 10:55of art and package. After the release of Change of Plans,
- 10:59the band will then be exclusively signed to MCA along
- 11:03with Isaac Gibson. Forty nine Winchester features Bus Shelton on
- 11:06lead guitar, Chase Chaffin on bass, Noah Patrick on pedal steel,
- 11:10Tim Hall on keys, and drummer Justin Leffiane. Ahead of
- 11:15the new album forty nine, Winchester has released the song
- 11:18Pardon Me. Any ambiguity left from the lyrics and what
- 11:21the song might be about is cleared up by the video. Really,
- 11:24it doesn't matter what Isaac Gibson sings. He has a
- 11:26way of getting you to buy into all of it.
- 11:29The new ten song album will also include the band's
- 11:32cover of Black Sabbaths Changes. The song started out to
- 11:35simply be a tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, but has taken
- 11:38on a life of its own from the treatment of
- 11:40Virginia Boys put on it. You can see the full
- 11:43track list online. The album will be available in seven
- 11:47different color variants on vinyl as well as CD and cassette.
- 11:51Physical copies are now available for pre order. The track
- 11:54list the Window, Bluebird Changes, all Around Me, Slowly, all
- 11:59over Again Again, Oh Savannah, Bringing Home the Bacon, Pardon Me,
- 12:04and Heavy Chevy. Interestingly, Saving Country Music has a list
- 12:09out this week the top Country music National anthem performances
- 12:13of all time. It's one of the most difficult and
- 12:16scrutinized performances any singer can commit to, but if you
- 12:20turn in a memorable rendition, it could be a defining
- 12:23moment in your career. And that's the way that comes
- 12:26with performing the National Anthem. And though some of the
- 12:29most more memorable ones over the years have come from
- 12:32singers like Whitney Houston, when were some of the landmark
- 12:36performances of the Star Spangled Banner from country artists. So
- 12:39they go through the years and take a look. Number ten,
- 12:42according to Saving Country Music is Mickey Geiten super Bowl
- 12:46twenty twenty two and National Memorial Day Concert twenty twenty one.
- 12:50Mickey Geiten is one of country music's pre eminent Star
- 12:53Spangled Banner performers and has done the honors on many
- 12:56occasions throughout her career. For this is not just because
- 13:01she's so good at it. She was actually inspired to
- 13:03become a country singer after seeing a ten year old
- 13:06LeAnn Rimes before the National or before the National Anthem
- 13:10when Geydon was roughly the same age. Number nine Carrie
- 13:13Underwood Nashville Predators Playoff Game twenty seventeen. As you can imagine,
- 13:19Carrie Underwood is quite a few landmark renditions of the
- 13:21national Anthem under her belt as one of the best
- 13:24modern country singers, including the twenty ten Super Bowl, but
- 13:28searching through the archives of her performances, the one that
- 13:31stands out the most for saving country music was before
- 13:35Game three between the Nashville Predators and the Chicago Blackhawks
- 13:39as part of the twenty seventeen National Hockey League Playoffs,
- 13:43Number eight Martina McBride AFC Championship Game two thousand and nine.
- 13:49Martina McBride is considered one of the greatest singers in
- 13:52modern country history, and she showed off y in two
- 13:54thousand and nine before the tilt between the Ravens and
- 13:57the Steelers to decide who would go to the nine
- 14:00Super Bowl. Not only was McBride flawless and showed off
- 14:03her Howitzer voice, she had to fight the weather conditions
- 14:07to do so. It was twenty one degrees with a
- 14:09stiff wind, but McBride owned the performance. Saving Country Music
- 14:14says the number seven performance in country music of the
- 14:17National Anthem. Ruby Jane Mississippi State basketball Game twenty ten.
- 14:24Unless you were personally there, or unless you're reading this now,
- 14:26it's unlikely you've ever heard of this particular performance of
- 14:29the anthem. After all, it happened before a regular season
- 14:32college basketball game, and Ruby Jane isn't exactly a household name.
- 14:37Number six The Dixie Chicks the super Bowl two thousand
- 14:40and three. Though most renditions of the Star Spangled Banner
- 14:44are also our solo performances, the Dixie Chicks Natalie, Emily
- 14:48and Marty brought there three part harmonies to the Super
- 14:52Bowl in two thousand and three and knocked it out
- 14:54of the park and has since become one of the
- 14:56most beloved performances of the song to fans in country
- 14:59music and beyond. Saving Country music says, super Bowl two
- 15:04thousand featuring faith Hill is number five. Faith Hill took
- 15:08the field at the millennial rendition of the Super Bowl
- 15:11and walked into the history books for delivering one of
- 15:13the most lauded performances of the national anthem and American
- 15:16music history. Accompanied by a troop of traditional bagpipes and
- 15:21field drums, faith Hill separated her rendition from so many
- 15:25others with her superlative mastery of the highest notes, not
- 15:28shying away from the top range, but reaching and achieving it.
- 15:33Number four Leanne Rhymes the nineteen ninety seven All Star
- 15:36Game and other MLB NFL performances. Many performers can sing
- 15:42the national anthem and sing it well. Some seem to
- 15:45have been born to sing it and do it so
- 15:47well it goes on to define their career. LeAnn Rhymes
- 15:51is one of those singers. Originally from the Dallas area,
- 15:54Rhymes grew up singing the Star Spangled banner at Dallas
- 15:57Cowboys and Texas Rangers baseball games, starting when she was
- 16:01only nine years old. In fact, it was one performance
- 16:04when Rhymes was ten that inspired fellow Dallas area native
- 16:07Mickey Geyton, as we mentioned, to become a singer herself.
- 16:12Number three NFC Championship Game twenty twenty six. Z Actop. Sure,
- 16:18some will claim recency bias crept into this decision, but
- 16:22it's not just Zactop's national anthem rendition as a country
- 16:25artist that made it so memorable. It's that he made
- 16:27the national anthem into a country song like nobody else before.
- 16:32Saving country music, says Reba McIntyre. Has the number two
- 16:35rendition the NFR and Oklahoma City way back in nineteen
- 16:39seventy four. There are national anthem renditions that are memorable,
- 16:43inspiring and downright astounding as performances. And then there are
- 16:47ones that are so good they become historically significant and
- 16:50go on to reshape the popular music world. And the
- 16:54best one, and I've got a lot of relatives who
- 16:56agree with this. Chris Stapleton's twenty twenty three Sousper Bowl
- 17:00rendition is number one. Playing a black telecaster with the
- 17:04ant behind him and flanked by monitor speakers and without
- 17:07his signature feather crown hat, Chris Stapleton belt it out
- 17:11an effortless and stirring rendition of national anthem, making some
- 17:15grown ass men in shoulder pads on the sidelines openly weep.
- 17:19Eagles coach Nick Serianni had Niagara falls rolling down his
- 17:22cheeks in an almost inexplicable deluge of tears. Moving on,
- 17:28we go back to February fourth for something from Parade Magazine.
- 17:33Toby Keith to receive major honor in home state alongside
- 17:36Kenny Rodgers and Ed Harris. Toby Keith's strong influence continues
- 17:42to be felt around the country long after his untimely death.
- 17:45The late country music icon has received numerous posthumous honors
- 17:49and is now set to receive another, this time in
- 17:52his home state of Oklahoma. Keith, along with his fellow
- 17:56late Country Music Hall of Famer Kenny Rodgers and acclaimed
- 17:59actor Ed Harris, is among the twenty twenty six inductees
- 18:03at the sixty fifth Annual Western Heritage Awards, hosted by
- 18:07the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. The upcoming ceremony,
- 18:11set to take place this spring in Oklahoma City, will
- 18:15include a presentation of Special honors where the Red Solo
- 18:18Cup Singer Songwriter will be given the Special Director's Award.
- 18:23Crystal Keith, the legendary country artist's daughter, spoke on family's behalf,
- 18:28sharing gratitude following the announcement. This honor reflects the life
- 18:33my dad lived and the values he stood for, she
- 18:35said in a statement. According to Wide Open Country, were
- 18:39grateful to the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum for
- 18:42recognizing his place in history and how his career served
- 18:46and celebrated the heritage of the country in Western way
- 18:48of life. Museum President and CEO Pat Fitzgerald echo that sentiment,
- 18:53praising the inductees and enduring impact. We are thrilled to
- 18:57announce the exceptional inductees and award winners for this year's
- 19:00Western Heritage Awards. Fitzgerald said each has helped carry forward
- 19:05the stories, values, and traditions of the American West and
- 19:09meaningful and enduring ways. Their work, whether on screen, in song,
- 19:13in leadership, or through lifelong service, ensures that the spirit
- 19:17of the West continues to inspire future generations. Keith Rogers
- 19:22and Harris induction finds them joining a celebrated list of
- 19:25both country and music and film icons. Those who have
- 19:28been inducted into the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museums
- 19:33Hall of Fame in years past include George Strait, Bob Wills,
- 19:37Vince Gill, Reba McIntyre, Brooks and Dunn, as well as
- 19:40Burt Reynolds, Sam Elliott, and Kurt Russell. The native of Clinton, Oklahoma.
- 19:45Of course, Keith passed away on February fifth, twenty twenty four,
- 19:49following a lengthy and heroic battle with stomach cancer. He
- 19:52was sixty two. His latest honor follows a series of
- 19:55posthumous awards and accolades, including twenty twenty four's Country Music
- 19:59Hall of Fame induction. In addition to their inductions, Keith
- 20:03Rogers and Harris will each receive a Wrangler Award, a
- 20:06bronze sculpture of a cowboy on horseback created by late
- 20:10Oklahoma artist Harold T. Holden. The sixty fifth Annual Western
- 20:14Heritage Awards will be held April eleventh at the National
- 20:17Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. Now we
- 20:23grab a shoehorn and move into the boot dot com
- 20:25with the first article published February eleventh, how a compliment
- 20:29and tough love from Cody Johnson's dad changed his life.
- 20:33Cody Johnson just revealed a very personal story from when
- 20:36he was fourteen years old when his dad complimented him
- 20:39and whooped his butt all in the same moment, a
- 20:42moment to change the trajectory of his life and musical career.
- 20:46Johnson was a guest on the Bobbycast podcast where he
- 20:49spoke about the evening that he snuck out of his
- 20:51parents' house to play at a bar when he was
- 20:53under age. The Dirt Cheap singer said that that night
- 20:57I snuck out of my parents' house to go play a bar.
- 21:00I think I was like fourteen. I snuck out and
- 21:03hopped into the truck with a buddy that was sixteen,
- 21:05and we went down to the bar. The teenager was
- 21:08out among the drinking population when he wasn't even old
- 21:10enough to drive or vote. But he didn't go to
- 21:13that honky tonk with one hundred people in it to
- 21:15attempt to drink under age. He went to show off
- 21:18his guitar and singing skills, He continued. The band let
- 21:22me jump up and play with them, and they said,
- 21:24we're going to take a break. Why don't you play well.
- 21:27Johnson got about three songs into his set when he
- 21:29looked into the crowd and saw his dad standing there watching,
- 21:33angry that he snuck out of the house to go
- 21:35to a bar. You want to talk about an oh
- 21:37shoot moment, that's one of them, he said. But it
- 21:40was what his dad did next that changed everything for Johnson.
- 21:44Johnson said, I got what pretty good for that. My
- 21:46dad said, you know, you play in these bars, it's
- 21:48going to lead to a life of destruction and you're
- 21:50going to wind up becoming a drug addict and an alcoholic.
- 21:54But here's where Johnson's dad changed everything. He could have
- 21:57just whooped him and told him never to do that again,
- 21:59but his dad knew he had witnessed something that the
- 22:01masses would one day want to hear. Johnson said, after
- 22:04his butt whooping, his dad looked at him in the
- 22:06eye and said, you actually sounded really good. Just so
- 22:09you know. That confidence from his father at such a
- 22:12young age showed Johnson that his dad could see past
- 22:15the fact that what he did was wrong, and he
- 22:17recognized his son's talent that the whole world would soon
- 22:20love him for So then the boot lists the top
- 22:23twenty Cody Johnson songs that they believe. Number twenty would
- 22:27be got to Be Me, number nineteen, You All People,
- 22:30Number eighteen, I Know My Way Back, number seventeen, Nobody
- 22:34to Blame. Let's build a fire at sixteen, Dance her
- 22:37Home at fifteen, number fourteen, Cowboy Like Me By Your
- 22:42Grace Number thirteen, Cody Johnson's song Fence Post number twelve,
- 22:46Texas Kind of Way, number eleven, number ten eight, Nothing
- 22:49to It, number nine, Me and My Kind, Diamond in
- 22:53My Pocket number eight, Wild as You, number seven, number
- 22:57six would be nothing on You, number one five With You,
- 23:01I Am the fourth Cody Johnson song Dear Rodeo number four,
- 23:05on My Way to You, number three, number two Human
- 23:08in the top Cody Johnson song according to the Boot
- 23:11Till You Can't Next. Pete Finney, steel guitarist for Patty Loveless,
- 23:18Reba McIntyre, and Moore, passes away at seventy. Pete Finnie,
- 23:23a prominent steel guitarist and fixture of Nashall's country music community,
- 23:27died on Saturday at seventy years old. The Country Music
- 23:31Hall of Fame shared news of his death in a
- 23:33social media post, describing Finny as a widely admired musician
- 23:37who exemplified how top instrumentalists can adapt to a range
- 23:41of styles and settings, whether it's in a recording studio,
- 23:44a concert stage, or the corner of a small nightclub.
- 23:48Over the course of his career, Finney played for country
- 23:50luminaries like Patty Lovelace, Reba McIntyre, Vince Gill, The Judds,
- 23:55and The Chicks. He was also a diverse performer who
- 23:59worked with acts outside the genre, such as Beck and
- 24:02Schimikia Copeland. A Merrill native who began his country career
- 24:07in music in Austin, Texas in the late seventies, Pete
- 24:10Finney moved to Nashville in the following decade began touring
- 24:13and performing with a wide array of artists. Per the
- 24:16Hall of Fame's remembrance, he was touring with Reba McIntyre
- 24:19at the time of his tragic nineteen ninety one plane
- 24:22crash to claim the lives of eight of her band members.
- 24:25Finny survived because he flew on a second plane along
- 24:29with some other members of the band and crew. He
- 24:32also spent twenty years touring with Patty Lovelace and performed
- 24:35with a wide array of other Nashville mainstays, including Jim
- 24:38Lauderdale and Alison Moore. Moore remembered Finny in a social
- 24:42media post after his death, writing he was kind, smart,
- 24:46and incredibly talented. Nashville won't be the same without him.
- 24:50Locals could often find Finny performing with Chris Scruggs at
- 24:53the new now defunct West Nashville hub The Stone Fox.
- 24:57That rotating cast of country traditionalists dubbed Chris Scruggs and
- 25:02the Stone Fox five, continued to hold Sunday night performances
- 25:06after The Stone Fox closed at Skinny Dennis Nashville. The
- 25:10Country Music Hall of Fame also notes that Finny co
- 25:12curated its Dylan Cash and the Nashville Cats, a New
- 25:16Music City exhibit, which opened in twenty fifteen. Finny co
- 25:21wrote an exhibit book that won the Chet Flippo Award
- 25:24for her excellence in Country music journalism. The museum states
- 25:28that the idea for the exhibit stemmed from Finny's research
- 25:31on out of genre artists who came to Nashville to
- 25:34record and work with its studio musicians back in the
- 25:37nineteen sixties and seventies. No information about Phinney's cause of
- 25:41death or funeral information is immediately available. Next, Blake Shelton
- 25:47calls out a fan for wearing a Luke Bryan shirt
- 25:50at his Vegas show. The last thing you want to
- 25:53do at a Blake Shelton concert is where somebody else's merchandise,
- 25:58especially if that merch belongs to lu During a recent
- 26:02show at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, Shelton noticed that
- 26:04someone sitting in the front row is wearing an interesting
- 26:06piece of clothing. You come to my show wearing Luke
- 26:10Bryan's stuff, he says directly to the woman as she films.
- 26:13What's the matter with you? Shelton didn't miss his chance
- 26:16to take a jab at his pal. The guy's an idiot,
- 26:18he adds. He then tells his team to hurry up
- 26:21and get this woman some merchant send him the bill.
- 26:24But he wasn't done jeering the hip shaking country singer.
- 26:27You've obviously been to one of his shows, right, he
- 26:29begins before delivering a singer. You ever notice that he
- 26:33always does they all sing along. It's because he's too
- 26:36drunk to remember the words to his own songs. He jokes,
- 26:39drunk and Hi, put that on YouTube. Put that on
- 26:42your Instagram. The relationship between Shelton and Brian may seem
- 26:46hostile on the surface, but deep down, they really love
- 26:49one another. They're like brothers. Both singers take shots at
- 26:52one another as often as they can. One day it's
- 26:55arguing about who's got the better tractor, and the next
- 26:58it's calling each other names in public birthday messages on
- 27:00social media. At the end of the day, they do
- 27:04support one another. Brian says it was Shelton who encouraged
- 27:07him to be a judge on American Idol. Shelton enjoyed
- 27:10a long successful run as coach on The Voice and
- 27:13knew Brian would benefit from the experience. Shelton will be
- 27:17back in Las Vegas in May for more shows at
- 27:19Caesar's Palace. If you plan on attending, make sure you've
- 27:21got the right shirt on. And finally, Kelsey Hart is
- 27:26one of country music's most relatable rising stars. Kelsey Hart
- 27:30is a big year ahead of him in twenty six
- 27:32after several career breakthroughs in recent years. His relatable songs
- 27:36and versioning success made him an easy choice for Taste

- 27:43native who's been writing songs for artists for several years.
- 27:47He signed a deal with Curb Records in twenty twenty
- 27:49three and released his first solo single, Life with You,

- 28:00of twenty twenty four. Life with You has been his
- 28:03biggest hit so far, and it's a perfect example of
- 28:06the sort of relatable everyman quality that makes his song
- 28:09so special. He just released a new song titled Anything
- 28:12Like You, which was inspired by him becoming a first

- 28:19Jake Owen, Dylan Scott, and trace Atkins as an artist.
- 28:23He made his Grand Old Opry debut in June of
