- 1:06Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 1:07Speaker 2: S- I'm so happy to be here and honored to share my story with your listeners.
- 1:11Speaker: Yeah.
- 1:11Speaker: Well, Melissa helps Christian women heal the nervous systems, I love this part, and renew their minds through biblical truths so they can break free from the merry-go-round of survival and live radiantly restored women of God.
- 1:26Speaker: Mm.
- 1:26Speaker: Yes.
- 1:26Speaker: So I imagine that the merry-go-round, the nervous system, I imagine that's coming from your own story.
- 1:34Speaker: Is that correct, Melissa?
- 1:35Speaker 2: That is.
- 1:36Speaker 2: I learned about it several years ago.
- 1:41Speaker 2: I wish I would've known it even further back, but I know it now, and I'm sharing it with other women so that they can heal, and hopefully their healing journey doesn't take as long as mine did.
- 1:53Speaker: So you left a six-figure retail pharmacy career.
- 1:59Speaker: Yes.
- 1:59Speaker: Tell us about that period in your life.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Ooh.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Oh, I don't know if we have the time.
- 2:04Speaker 2: It's- And you won't- It's crazy because-
- 2:07Speaker: You won't believe how many people say that.
- 2:09Speaker: Oh, Theresa- Yeah I need more than 20 minutes.
- 2:11Speaker: So go ahead.
- 2:12Speaker: I'm sorry.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:13Speaker 2: So I actually dreamed about being back at CVS last night and- Whoa the chaos of that store.
- 2:22Speaker: Yeah.
- 2:22Speaker 2: And it's always the same where it's, we're about to close, there's people in both drive-thru lanes.
- 2:30Speaker 2: There's a line at the register.
- 2:32Speaker 2: The phone is ringing.
- 2:33Speaker 2: The doctor's line is ringing.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Everything is timing out, and I just wanna go home.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:40Speaker: And- No
- 2:41Speaker 2: doubt I, that, that fear, that panic, that anxiety is so real-
- 2:47Speaker: Mm
- 2:47Speaker 2: in my dreams because I lived it for- Yeah almost eight years.
- 2:51Speaker: And, and sometimes when it comes back like that, it is hitting your nervous system, although I'm sure- Yeah you've done And wasn't, isn't there a part of that job that is, like, people pleasing, trying to-
- 3:03Speaker 2: Oh, yes.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Yes
- 3:04Speaker: reach the level,"Okay, you gotta do this.
- 3:05Speaker: You gotta do that." Yes.
- 3:07Speaker: That's hard.
- 3:08Speaker: So what
- 3:08Speaker 2: did- It, it was.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:09Speaker: Yeah,
- 3:10Speaker 2: they didn't teach me that part in pharmacy school.
- 3:12Speaker 2: I didn't know- Yeah.
- 3:13Speaker 2: that was gonna be such a big piece of it.
- 3:15Speaker: Yeah.
- 3:16Speaker: Wow.
- 3:17Speaker: So when did you come to the climax of,"This isn't working"?
- 3:21Speaker: 'Cause how many years?
- 3:23Speaker: You, since 2000- I
- 3:23Speaker 2: was there almost eight years.
- 3:25Speaker: Yeah, that's a long time.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:28Speaker 2: So, I mean, for- Many years I had felt like, what am I doing here?
- 3:37Speaker: Yeah.
- 3:38Speaker 2: This is not what I signed up for.
- 3:40Speaker: Yeah.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Pharmacy school prepared me knowledge-wise.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 3:44Speaker 2: But as far as relationship-wise, like dealing with the customers and the doctors- Yeah and the insurance companies and-
- 3:52Speaker: Yeah.
- 3:52Speaker: Oh my
- 3:53Speaker 2: you know, having technicians, that, that piece was missing from my education.
- 3:58Speaker: Yeah.
- 3:59Speaker 2: And so things just continued to get worse and worse, and the demands on us as the pharmacists continued to increase.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:06Speaker 2: We never, ever had enough help and support.
- 4:10Speaker 2: No.
- 4:10Speaker 2: And the technicians did the best that they could, and they could only work the hours that corporate said they were allowed to work.
- 4:17Speaker: Yeah.
- 4:17Speaker 2: And so-
- 4:18Speaker: Wow
- 4:18Speaker 2: it was Really the turning point was in November 30th of 2018.
- 4:27Speaker 2: I'd gone into work early and I was trying to get everything cleared and set and ready to go before we opened the doors, and I get a phone call that changes everything for me.
- 4:39Speaker: Mm.
- 4:39Speaker 2: And it was a phone call to let me know that my sister, Katie, had been shot and killed by my uncle- Wow.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Wow in my grandma's house.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Oh,
- 4:47Speaker: I do
- 4:48Speaker 2: realize.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:48Speaker 2: And he had also killed Katie's boyfriend as well.
- 4:52Speaker: Wow.
- 4:53Speaker 2: And so there I am and in shock and- Mm.
- 4:59Speaker: Yeah
- 5:00Speaker 2: like, what?
- 5:01Speaker 2: I'm sorry, what did you just tell me?
- 5:03Speaker 2: Like-
- 5:03Speaker: Yeah
- 5:03Speaker 2: are you sure that's what happened, and now what do I do next?
- 5:07Speaker: Yeah.
- 5:09Speaker 2: So that was a very, very hard time.
- 5:11Speaker 2: And then five days later, what should have been her 26th birthday is- Mm when we had her funeral.
- 5:16Speaker 2: We sang Happy Birthday.
- 5:18Speaker: Oh, wow.
- 5:18Speaker: And we said goodbye.
- 5:19Speaker: That's tough.
- 5:19Speaker: So you're not only dealing with the stress of a demanding job, now here you are- Mm-hmm coming with grief and everything kinds of-
- 5:27Speaker 2: Yes
- 5:28Speaker: so were you ever mad at God?
- 5:30Speaker: Like, why'd you
- 5:31Speaker 2: do that?
- 5:32Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 5:32Speaker: Oh, yeah.
- 5:32Speaker: Tell me about
- 5:32Speaker 2: it.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Some people are like,'How can you be mad at God?
- 5:36Speaker 2: I've never been mad at God.' I'm like- Mm'Okay, that's fine for you, but I was.'
- 5:40Speaker: Right.
- 5:41Speaker 2: And I was y- mad at myself, of course mad at the person who killed my sister, mad at a lot of different people, like-
- 5:50Speaker: Yeah
- 5:51Speaker 2: you know, blaming and- It's
- 5:52Speaker: real
- 5:52Speaker 2: all of that.
- 5:54Speaker: Yeah.
- 5:54Speaker 2: It was, it was very hard.
- 5:56Speaker 2: And then once I, you know, got past that, then it was like, well, now how do I go back to God?
- 6:04Speaker 2: 'Cause now I've been mad at him.
- 6:05Speaker: Yeah.
- 6:06Speaker: Yeah.
- 6:07Speaker 2: So there were, there were a lot of emotions, and it took- Sure me years to work through, through all of them.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Did, did
- 6:11Speaker: you quit pharmacy right then, or did you just hang on for a little while after she was killed?
- 6:18Speaker 2: Yeah, so I lasted about two, two and a half more years after her death.
- 6:23Speaker: That's so hard.
- 6:24Speaker: Yeah.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Um, because about- And then- almost two years to the day after her death I was at work again, and I found out my dad died.
- 6:32Speaker 2: So that- Oh place, there was a lot of trauma at that, that store.
- 6:34Speaker 2: I know.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Yes.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:37Speaker 2: And then the pandemic- Yeah happened and- Oh,
- 6:39Speaker: wow.
- 6:40Speaker: Okay
- 6:40Speaker 2: it was just, I'd reached my breaking point.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:43Speaker 2: So.
- 6:43Speaker: But there was a place now where your faith in God, your relationship with God- Mm-hmm s- bit by bit put you back on your feet.
- 6:52Speaker: And that's why I think- Yes you speak to so many women struck by either of those things.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 6:59Speaker: Out of your relationship with God, how Someone's gonna say, how does she do that?
- 7:03Speaker: How did you take those steps?
- 7:05Speaker: To renew your faith and to-
- 7:07Speaker 2: Yeah, very slowly.
- 7:09Speaker: Sure.
- 7:09Speaker 2: My husband is a pastor.
- 7:12Speaker 2: Okay.
- 7:12Speaker 2: And the church we're at right now, we're, we've been here a little over 15 years.
- 7:18Speaker: Wow.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 7:18Speaker 2: And so because of my job, I missed I worked every other weekend, every other holiday, so I missed out on a lot.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:27Speaker 2: So I wasn't here very much.
- 7:29Speaker: Okay.
- 7:29Speaker 2: And so once I was able to leave- Uh-huh CVS and start my own business I could go to church every Sunday.
- 7:38Speaker: Wow.
- 7:39Speaker 2: And then a couple months later, me and another woman started a women's Bible study, which- Nice.
- 7:46Speaker: Nice
- 7:47Speaker 2: I, that was something I had always wanted, but because of my work- Wow there was no way I could do it.
- 7:53Speaker: Yeah.
- 7:53Speaker 2: And so little by little, doing those things, getting back into God's word- Yeah talking to him again, I started out with writing.
- 8:03Speaker: Good.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Just, like, a couple sentences.
- 8:05Speaker: Okay.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Or looking at a verse and writing a little prayer just based on one- So good one sentence.
- 8:10Speaker 2: And it was just those little things that, that I built on- Yeah and created that momentum.
- 8:17Speaker: So good.
- 8:18Speaker 2: So then I dived into his word more.
- 8:20Speaker 2: I fell in love- Yeah with God's word more, and, and- That's good teaching and falling in love with God again.
- 8:26Speaker: Yeah, so beautiful.
- 8:27Speaker 2: That's what I did.
- 8:29Speaker: Don't you think, uh, I'm a big believer in journaling, especially if your life is, like, H-E-double L.
- 8:35Speaker: And- Yeah isn't that a b- a beautiful place where you can have the word open but have your journal open and just really process- Yeah things?
- 8:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:44Speaker: Yeah.
- 8:44Speaker 2: And some of the things I was like,"God, I'm mad about this.
- 8:46Speaker 2: I-" I am upset about this." It wasn't just-
- 8:50Speaker: Right
- 8:50Speaker 2: of course I, there was some gratitude there, too, but I also told God how I felt.
- 8:54Speaker 2: And sometimes- Sure I think somewhere along the way, we tell women, Christian women, like, you have, you can only be a certain way when you approach God.
- 9:04Speaker 2: I think he wants all of it.
- 9:06Speaker 2: He created us.
- 9:07Speaker 2: Yes.
- 9:07Speaker 2: He gave us these emotions.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Come on.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Bring it all to his feet.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Not the perfect, polished version of you, because that doesn't exist.
- 9:14Speaker: That's it.
- 9:15Speaker: Preach that well, girl.
- 9:16Speaker: That is so good.
- 9:17Speaker: So eventually- Yeah I think what was, this is what I see.
- 9:20Speaker: I b- really believe that God calls us.
- 9:22Speaker: And sometimes- Mm-hmm out of life it takes us a while to either experience that calling or know that calling.
- 9:29Speaker: So tell me- Mm-hmm how you knew that you knew now you had a message, you had a story to speak to the person you once were.
- 9:37Speaker: So how did that g- come up into you?
- 9:40Speaker: But you did the Bible study, but I think- Mm-hmm now that's kind of, like, part of your business.
- 9:45Speaker: You, you really help women get unstuck.
- 9:47Speaker: Yeah.
- 9:48Speaker: Is that correct?
- 9:49Speaker 2: Yes.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Yeah, so when I first started out, I was doing something different.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 9:56Speaker 2: It was sort of built on my pharmacy career.
- 9:59Speaker 2: And then as time went on, I felt God calling me to bring my faith into my business.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Okay.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Because I was growing deeper in his word, and I was like,"No, no." The, the- Yeah devil was telling me,"Don't do that," you know.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 10:12Speaker 2: "Keep those two separate.
- 10:13Speaker 2: No one wants to hear about that." And- That's so true y- you won't be successful if you bring your faith into your business.
- 10:19Speaker 2: And-
- 10:19Speaker: Yeah
- 10:20Speaker 2: so I struggled with that for a while, and then, you know, one day I just got to the point where I was like, I can't not talk about my faith, because- Come on how I got here.
- 10:31Speaker 2: I would not be here- Mm without my faith.
- 10:33Speaker 2: And so I don't want to hide it.
- 10:34Speaker 2: God- Yeah God tells us,"Don't hide your light." Yeah.
- 10:37Speaker 2: And so that's what- That's so
- 10:39Speaker: good
- 10:39Speaker 2: I'm here to do.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:40Speaker: Yeah.
- 10:41Speaker: That's so good,'cause it's like you get to that point where I, I sound like I got to,'cause I feel like it's just like I need to, and it's, it comes from a different place.
- 10:50Speaker: Now you talk about- Yeah helping women restore their nervous system.
- 10:53Speaker: I'm very fascinated.
- 10:55Speaker: Mm-hmm.
- 10:55Speaker: I really believe in that.
- 10:56Speaker: I've come off some neuroscience, uh, going on three years.
- 11:00Speaker: Uh- Mm-hmm d- do you deal, how do you deal with helping them realize they can reconstruct, deconstruct and reconstruct, that they can rewire their mind?
- 11:10Speaker: Yeah.
- 11:10Speaker: How does, how does that come into play with what you teach them?
- 11:13Speaker: I'm just curious myself.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:16Speaker 2: So I always like to bring that education piece.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Sure.
- 11:22Speaker 2: To, to bring the, the pharmacist, the science nerdy part of me back.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:25Speaker 2: And-
- 11:25Speaker: That's so
- 11:26Speaker 2: cool because, yeah, our nervous system is always, always acting in the interest of survival and keeping us safe.
- 11:34Speaker: Yes.
- 11:34Speaker: Isn't that
- 11:35Speaker 2: the truth.
- 11:35Speaker 2: And I heard someone say our nervous system is always going to choose the familiar hell-
- 11:41Speaker: Mm
- 11:41Speaker 2: over the unfamiliar heaven every time.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Well good said.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Well good said.
- 11:44Speaker 2: It's going to keep going back to what it knows.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:48Speaker 2: What keeps us safe.
- 11:49Speaker 2: So good.
- 11:49Speaker 2: And so that helps to give women, like, oh, okay, it's not, you know, me.
- 11:56Speaker 2: I don't have, um, the inability to, to make good decisions or lack the willpower.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Like, my nervous system has been in a survival mode for years or decades.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:09Speaker 2: And it's going to take time to create those new neural connections- Right in our brain.
- 12:14Speaker: Yeah.
- 12:14Speaker 2: And to create those new pathways.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:17Speaker 2: But it is possible.
- 12:19Speaker: And I think it takes time, but I think it's such a, a worthy of your time,'cause, uh, like I had 26 years of a really abusive marriage, and it's, I'm going on...
- 12:30Speaker: I still see my mental coach, who's now, like, my best friend, but I see her for business.
- 12:35Speaker: But- Mm-hmm it took, listen, those first sessions, I said, I talked a lot.
- 12:41Speaker: She says,"Oh, Tee, you needed to talk."'Cause I had to fight the, the, the thing, the lane in my brain that I wasn't good enough, and that went on- Right to everything.
- 12:51Speaker: So it's so cool to see that you do, and I didn't even think about it, with your pharmacist background, your, your understanding of, you know, things, that you would bring that in.
- 13:00Speaker: Yeah.
- 13:01Speaker: That's rare.
- 13:02Speaker: Not everyone- Yeah understands the plasticity of your brain and understanding- Yeah so that's really, that's really powerful in your coaching.
- 13:10Speaker: So what is, people who come to you, women who come to you, um, what is the transformation she's looking for?
- 13:19Speaker: I, I'm sure she gets a lot of it by l- listening to your transformation, but-
- 13:23Speaker 2: Mm-hmm
- 13:24Speaker: what do you, what is she really coming to you for?
- 13:28Speaker 2: Well, I, I see a lot of women struggling with the unworthiness.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Mm.
- 13:33Speaker 2: That I'm unlovable, that, like you said, I'm not good enough.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Or, like I'm too much.
- 13:39Speaker 2: I'm not enough.
- 13:41Speaker 2: And so there's all these different patterns that are going on underneath the surface.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Oh.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Control, that people-pleasing, perfectionism.
- 13:48Speaker 2: And they all want peace.
- 13:51Speaker 2: They want freedom.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:52Speaker 2: They want to have better relationships- Yeah with their spouse, with their kids, with their parents.
- 14:00Speaker 2: They want to have a closer relationship with God.
- 14:02Speaker 2: But it's really hard, and that was something for me too.
- 14:06Speaker 2: I can r- anybody can read-
- 14:08Speaker: Sure
- 14:09Speaker 2: God's word.
- 14:10Speaker: Right.
- 14:10Speaker 2: But do you actually believe it?
- 14:12Speaker 2: Does it internalize?
- 14:13Speaker 2: Does
- 14:14Speaker: it go
- 14:14Speaker 2: inside?
- 14:14Speaker 2: If you, if you're- Yeah carrying unworthiness from something that happened in your childhood, you can read and you can pray, but when God speaks to you, do you...
- 14:25Speaker 2: Are you able to hear it and, and take that in and then live differently?
- 14:29Speaker 2: And so that's what I'm here to help women with.
- 14:31Speaker 2: To, to root their identity in Christ, not in what the world says about us or- Yeah anybody else.
- 14:37Speaker 2: And to be able to Create that safety in your body.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:43Speaker 2: And so it's not, there's not like an end point, like,"Oh, I'm here and I've got it." We're always gonna have stuff come up.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Our boss is gonna say the wrong thing.
- 14:54Speaker 2: Our kids are not gonna listen to us.
- 14:56Speaker 2: Our friend is going to, you know, ig- ignore us or uninvite us to a party.
- 15:01Speaker 2: And, you know, these things come up.
- 15:03Speaker 2: But do you have the capacity to be able to handle those things-
- 15:07Speaker: So good
- 15:08Speaker 2: and to not go into shutdown or collapse, or the other way, where there's that anger, that anxiety, the-
- 15:17Speaker: Yeah
- 15:17Speaker 2: never being able to rest.
- 15:19Speaker 2: Right.
- 15:19Speaker 2: And so you can go between those two ends.
- 15:22Speaker 2: But my job is to give you the tools to- Yes be able to increase your ability to hold all of those emotions, joy, grief, sadness- So good disappointment, all of those things.
- 15:34Speaker: I like that you said tools, and I also like that you said being a wife of a pastor, so let's talk about it.
- 15:42Speaker: You can, you can slap on Bible verses all day long.
- 15:46Speaker: You can do- Yeah the,"I am strong, I am st-" But you got to have a place for that to land that's safe- Yeah and that you, that's got a biblical, uh, belief background.
- 15:57Speaker: Because, you know, I, I could quote Bible verses all I wanted- Yeah back, back in the mayhem, but did I deal with the mayhem?
- 16:04Speaker: Well, I couldn't, but, you know, I tried.
- 16:07Speaker: So, you know, you can say,"Oh, I'm just not...
- 16:10Speaker: I'm just against positive thinking," unless you've got some guide, really.
- 16:14Speaker: Yeah.
- 16:14Speaker: And I, what I mean is the tools to really rip open, let's, let's deconstruct those lies and then slowly- Right reconstruct.
- 16:22Speaker: I'm a big fan of Dr.- Yeah Caroline Leaf, if you're familiar with her.
- 16:25Speaker: So I mean, I've been benefited from her, um, studies, neuroscience studies.
- 16:31Speaker: So I love to hear- Yeah what you...
- 16:32Speaker: And, and so I love that you said tools.
- 16:35Speaker: Now, I'd imagine one of your tools is your story.
- 16:39Speaker: I mean, do they- Mm-hmm lean in for your story?
- 16:41Speaker: I mean, do you use your story as part of the tool?
- 16:45Speaker 2: I do, yes.
- 16:46Speaker 2: And helping the women have that connection, to know that, you know, I'm not just coming from a place of,"Oh, I like learned this stuff, and I, I think- Yeah you should learn it too." But it's stuff that has actually helped me.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:00Speaker 2: And not just in the past, but even still today.
- 17:03Speaker 2: Like, something happened this week where I felt- Because some- something that someone did not do, I, it brought up feelings of I'm not worthy.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Wow.
- 17:15Speaker 2: I was rejected.
- 17:16Speaker 2: I was ignored.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Ah.
- 17:17Speaker 2: I was forgotten.
- 17:18Speaker: Wow.
- 17:18Speaker 2: Things that I remember happening in my childhood.
- 17:21Speaker: Mm.
- 17:22Speaker 2: But now I come from a place of, okay, I notice what's coming up.
- 17:27Speaker: That's good.
- 17:27Speaker 2: What does my nervous system need in this moment?
- 17:31Speaker: Yeah.
- 17:32Speaker 2: What do I choose to do?
- 17:34Speaker: Mm.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Do I, is there something I need to release?
- 17:37Speaker 2: Is there an action step I need to take?
- 17:40Speaker 2: So good.
- 17:40Speaker 2: And then rooting myself in the truth.
- 17:42Speaker 2: So what's the truth about God in this situation?
- 17:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:47Speaker 2: God has not forgotten me.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:48Speaker 2: God ha- will never leave me or forsake me.
- 17:51Speaker 2: What's the truth about myself?
- 17:53Speaker: Yeah.
- 17:53Speaker 2: And so those are the steps that I'll walk my clients through.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Mm.
- 17:55Speaker 2: And helping them to be able to do that.
- 17:58Speaker 2: Um- It's, it- rather than, again, collapsing or shutting down.
- 18:01Speaker: It's just so cool to see Holy Spirit teaching with some science, with some biblical- Yeah principles.
- 18:07Speaker: I mean, and, and I think identity is the issue every, almost everyone deals with.
- 18:12Speaker: It could have, uh, different names.
- 18:14Speaker: Now this is exciting.
- 18:15Speaker: Mm-hmm.
- 18:15Speaker: Your first you've got- A book, uh, you're working on, Rooted in Prayer.
- 18:21Speaker: Yes.
- 18:21Speaker: Yes.
- 18:21Speaker: And then you're gonna be a co-host of a brand new podcast.
- 18:24Speaker: That's all I get excited.
- 18:26Speaker: Yes.
- 18:26Speaker: Yes.
- 18:26Speaker: It's set to launch next month.
- 18:27Speaker: So first tell us about the book and then let's hear about the podcast.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:32Speaker 2: So Rooted in Prayer is an idea that I received last summer and it's a book that I wish I would have had.
- 18:44Speaker: Wow.
- 18:45Speaker 2: And so I go through the Lord's Prayer.
- 18:48Speaker: Mm-hmm.
- 18:48Speaker 2: And there's six main components of the Lord's Prayer, so that's my six main teaching chapters.
- 18:53Speaker: Nice.
- 18:54Speaker 2: And with each chapter I share a story from my life.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Some of them are funny.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Some of them are more serious.
- 19:01Speaker 2: Um.
- 19:02Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 19:02Speaker 2: One is about some abuse that I faced as a child.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Wow,
- 19:06Speaker: sure.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Um, it's, you know, part devotion.
- 19:10Speaker 2: There's space for questions, reflection.
- 19:13Speaker 2: Um-
- 19:14Speaker: Yeah
- 19:14Speaker 2: but that was one of the really hard things for me when I was coming out of my rock bottom-
- 19:21Speaker: Yeah
- 19:21Speaker 2: was prayer.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Okay.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Like, what do I say?
- 19:24Speaker 2: How do I say it?
- 19:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:25Speaker 2: I feel like I'm saying the same thing all the time so I'm just gonna not pray at all and-
- 19:29Speaker: Yeah
- 19:29Speaker 2: you know, all these different things going on in my head.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Sure.
- 19:32Speaker 2: So really helping women to have something that they can relate to.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Uh, something that can help them.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Oh, good.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Um, so that's something that I'm working on.
- 19:40Speaker 2: And then for the podcast-
- 19:43Speaker: Come on
- 19:44Speaker 2: now, bring it we're actually supposed to record the pilot episode next week.

- 20:12Speaker: Mm-hmm.
- 20:12Speaker: What's your co- what's your co-host's name?
- 20:15Speaker 2: His name is Todd Urie and he- Todd
- 20:17Speaker: Urie
- 20:18Speaker 2: yeah, he owns, uh, or leads the Pharmacy Podcast Network, so-
- 20:23Speaker: Oh, that's so good
- 20:24Speaker 2: it'll, it'll be a podcast under that umbrella.
- 20:26Speaker: That's, that's just really cool.
- 20:28Speaker: That's exciting.
