- 0:00Speaker 1: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 0:03Speaker 1: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from Al Salvador
- 0:07Speaker 1: accused of murdering a Texas man of Venezuelan charged with
- 0:11Speaker 1: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 0:15Speaker 1: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 0:19Speaker 1: Donald J.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Trump's leadership.
- 0:21Speaker 1: I'm Christy nom the United States Secretary of Homeland Security.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Under President Trump, attempted illegal border crossings are at the
- 0:29Speaker 1: lowest levels ever recorded, and over one hundred thousand illegal
- 0:33Speaker 1: aliens have been arrested. If you are here illegally, your
- 0:37Speaker 1: next you will be fined nearly one thousand dollars a day, imprisoned,
- 0:41Speaker 1: and deported.
- 0:42Speaker 2: You will never return.
- 0:44Speaker 1: But if you register using our CBP home app and
- 0:47Speaker 1: leave now, you could be allowed to return legally.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Do what's right. Leave now.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Under President Trump, America's laws, border and families will be protected.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Sponsored by the United States Department of Homeland Security.
- 1:00Speaker 4: Me and Troy were at a summit a few weeks
- 1:02Speaker 4: ago in the Hamptons and he learned something that was
- 1:06Speaker 4: very insightful. So they were saying that Netflix Netflix right.
- 1:11Speaker 4: Netflix has an online manifest though that everybody should read,
- 1:15Speaker 4: and it like outlines their company structure, and they were
- 1:18Speaker 4: saying that they pay the most out of any streaming company,
- 1:21Speaker 4: they pay their employees the most, and reason being it
- 1:24Speaker 4: was like, the theory is that one good employee is
- 1:29Speaker 4: actually worth two people. So I'd rather pay you more
- 1:34Speaker 4: than what other people will pay you because I'm actually
- 1:35Speaker 4: saving money. And if you are, if you're an employer,
- 1:40Speaker 4: you know how dangerous one bad employee can be and
- 1:45Speaker 4: how valuable like one and good like they say, one
- 1:48Speaker 4: good a few good men. One good employee can really
- 1:52Speaker 4: change the direction of your whole entire company. So that's
- 1:55Speaker 4: extremely important to always look at employees as an investment,
- 2:00Speaker 4: is like, and especially when you start, it can be
- 2:02Speaker 4: kind of scary. It's like I don't even have enough
- 2:04Speaker 4: money to, you know, really fund the business properly, Like
- 2:08Speaker 4: how am I gonna pay somebody? But sometimes you have
- 2:10Speaker 4: to take the leaf of faith because yeah, that one employee,
- 2:14Speaker 4: if you're paying them fifty thousand or whatever, they could
- 2:16Speaker 4: potentially bring in three hundred and fifty thousand for you.
- 2:19Speaker 4: So but I wanted to ask you a question in
- 2:22Speaker 4: regards to what you had mentioned the hospitality, So what's
- 2:26Speaker 4: your port for How many restaurants do you currently have
- 2:28Speaker 4: right now?
- 2:29Speaker 5: So currently I have Marrows, I have Monday, I have
- 2:32Speaker 5: sun showing in the French Quarter. I have a Marrow
- 2:35Speaker 5: State that's opening up in like two months downtown New Orleans.
- 2:38Speaker 5: And I have a spot called Spicy Mango that's opening
- 2:41Speaker 5: up on Frenchman Street.
- 2:43Speaker 6: And a club.
- 2:44Speaker 5: Oh yes, the club. So five restaurants, one club.
- 2:47Speaker 6: Five restaurants, one club. Yeah, so very impressive, by the way.
- 2:51Speaker 4: Congrats, because they're all different type of.
- 2:54Speaker 5: Restaurants are different type. That's the hardest thing to talk
- 2:57Speaker 5: about that. Well, so I'm creating different conds. I'm saying,
- 3:00Speaker 5: like you know, of course that's the formula to to
- 3:02Speaker 5: disaster essentially, because now you're trying to recreate a whole
- 3:06Speaker 5: new situation. Like we're using the same blueprint for everything.
- 3:09Speaker 5: We're doing same system, same everything, right, but you know,
- 3:13Speaker 5: me creating different concepts. It's like I got to hire
- 3:16Speaker 5: new selfs. I gotta find new people to come help
- 3:20Speaker 5: create this vision. So that's tough, and you know, that's
- 3:23Speaker 5: just the route I'm going right now. But my ultimate goal,
- 3:26Speaker 5: like you know, right now, we're working on Morrows h
- 3:30Speaker 5: Houston for twenty twenty four, and it'll be easier to
- 3:33Speaker 5: go create a new Morols versus create these new concepts.
- 3:36Speaker 5: Because I got staff, I can move to Houston and
- 3:39Speaker 5: you know, run it, you know, and who who know
- 3:41Speaker 5: who know the system versus you know, going to create
- 3:44Speaker 5: a new concept, new menu, new SEFs and everything. But
- 3:47Speaker 5: I'm learning that, you know what, Like we were just
- 3:49Speaker 5: talking about like retention and just paying people more, you know,
- 3:52Speaker 5: like you got to pay for good help. And that's
- 3:53Speaker 5: what I've been doing. So we're not trying to get
- 3:55Speaker 5: you know, at one point, like you know, I was
- 3:58Speaker 5: a little cheaper and it was like yofford, I can't
- 4:01Speaker 5: afford to pay that. But now I want to pay that.
- 4:03Speaker 6: I want to I want to pay.
- 4:04Speaker 5: For good help. I want to pay for good people
- 4:06Speaker 5: because that's the only way I'm gonna be able to
- 4:08Speaker 5: you know, have like be able to sleep at night
- 4:10Speaker 5: and have any type of freedom. Just want to have
- 4:13Speaker 5: good people, because if you don't have good people, I
- 4:15Speaker 5: gotta you know, watch over everything they're doing. So you know,
- 4:18Speaker 5: I'm building my foundation and whoever's part of that course,
- 4:20Speaker 5: like when I grow, we grow, I mean when the
- 4:22Speaker 5: company grows, we all grow. It's not you're not You're
- 4:24Speaker 5: not limited, so we driving may backs and Ferrari's like,
- 4:27Speaker 5: you know, the goal is to get you know, of
- 4:29Speaker 5: we living in houses. I want everybody to have the
- 4:32Speaker 5: comfort of in this industry is not known to like
- 4:35Speaker 5: people like are you crazy? Like why are you doing
- 4:37Speaker 5: so much? You want to be stressed out. I'm not stressed,
- 4:40Speaker 5: you know, I want everybody to have the quality of life.
- 4:42Speaker 5: And in this industry, not everybody has the quality of
- 4:44Speaker 5: life because of the hours to take. And you know,
- 4:47Speaker 5: the average manager in the restaurant isustry working in sixty
- 4:50Speaker 5: seventy hours, right, that's a lot of hours. So if
- 4:52Speaker 5: you got a family, kids, and you know, a personal life,
- 4:56Speaker 5: like how can you maintain your personal life? So I'm like,
- 4:58Speaker 5: you know what, we're going to build our company and
- 5:00Speaker 5: you're making sure everybody can have the quality of life,
- 5:02Speaker 5: not just the CEO or the people you know at
- 5:04Speaker 5: the top, know everybody. So right now it's a lot
- 5:07Speaker 5: tough for everybody's playing more roles. But you know, right
- 5:09Speaker 5: now we're all working together so that we can all
- 5:11Speaker 5: make sure that everybody can, you know, be a part
- 5:14Speaker 5: of this company, have freedom and make a good living
- 5:17Speaker 5: and be happy.
- 5:17Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 5:18Speaker 7: I mean it's crazy because when Shotty was we talked
- 5:20Speaker 7: about that next situation, the next thing. We looked at
- 5:23Speaker 7: each other and said, wait, one good employees worth two,
- 5:25Speaker 7: but in our community, like one is worth like five
- 5:28Speaker 7: because they're doing so many multiple roles.
- 5:30Speaker 6: I want to talk about the.
- 5:33Speaker 7: Position that you're in from leasing these locations to ownership, right,
- 5:38Speaker 7: because on top of it being a location, it's also
- 5:41Speaker 7: a real estate play, right right, So talk about the
- 5:44Speaker 7: strategy behind that.
- 5:45Speaker 5: So I don't own every location I have, I'm also
- 5:49Speaker 5: I'm in the process of buying some of them, some
- 5:51Speaker 5: of them leasing.
- 5:53Speaker 7: This episode is brought to you by P and C Bank.
- 5:56Speaker 7: A lot of people think podcasts about work are boring,

- 7:43Speaker 1: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 7:47Speaker 1: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from El Salvador
- 7:51Speaker 1: accused of murdering a Texas. Man of Venezuelan charged with
- 7:55Speaker 1: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 7:59Speaker 1: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 8:03Speaker 1: Donald J.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Trump's leadership. I'm Christy Noman, the.
- 8:06Speaker 1: United States Secretary of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted

- 8:32Speaker 2: To return legally. Do what's right. Leave now.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Under President Trump, America's laws, border and families will.
- 8:40Speaker 3: Be protected sponsored by the United States Department of Homeland Security.
- 8:43Speaker 5: But I think it just depends on the location the lease.
- 8:48Speaker 5: You know, Tim and Fatida, you know, one of the
- 8:50Speaker 5: lawest restaurants.
- 8:51Speaker 6: Tools in the world.
- 8:52Speaker 5: He says, okay to lease, you know, like like some
- 8:54Speaker 5: buildings you just got to lease, you know, because it's
- 8:56Speaker 5: not worth what the you know is not worthy to buy.
- 9:00Speaker 5: So Catch Hospitality. You know, I've been since seen some
- 9:04Speaker 5: of their spaces, you know, like the amount of money
- 9:07Speaker 5: paying at least you would be like, what the hell
- 9:09Speaker 5: I never knew at least could be designed. Yeah, they
- 9:12Speaker 5: told me, Like you know, I was out there Regional
- 9:13Speaker 5: Catch Hospitality in New York. I spent five days out
- 9:16Speaker 5: there and they opened buckled me with open arms, created
- 9:19Speaker 5: a whole legenda just to walk me through that process,
- 9:21Speaker 5: to show me a young aspiring restaurant tour.
- 9:25Speaker 7: You know my kids I left that is to Eugene shouts,
- 9:30Speaker 7: they are probably there right now.
- 9:31Speaker 6: He catches my, La, La, what'd you learn from Catch?
- 9:35Speaker 3: Oh?
- 9:35Speaker 6: So quick, quick start.
- 9:38Speaker 5: I was in La been to Catch twenty seventeen, went
- 9:40Speaker 5: with a friend and I was saying, like I want
- 9:43Speaker 5: I want Morrows to be to catch the South. This
- 9:45Speaker 5: is when I was about to open up Morrows. Right
- 9:47Speaker 5: fast forward, you know, but six years later, you know,
- 9:50Speaker 5: I'm sitting down and meetings with Eugene and his team.
- 9:53Speaker 5: You know they recently sold their company for one hundred
- 9:55Speaker 5: million dollars and you know, just being able to see that.
- 9:58Speaker 5: But I've learned so much. I've learned just even like
- 10:00Speaker 5: how leadership just being just like watching them operate leadership,
- 10:04Speaker 5: and how to control just your percentages, and just how
- 10:08Speaker 5: starting to shift off for the pre shift. Something as
- 10:11Speaker 5: simple as a precift can help save a lot of
- 10:15Speaker 5: problems throughout the day, you know, doing cups up before
- 10:18Speaker 5: the shift starts. What's appreciate appreciate if is just like
- 10:21Speaker 5: a meeting before the shift, right, a meeting that basically
- 10:25Speaker 5: sets the tone for.
- 10:25Speaker 7: The day, saying that's like when everybody gets in the huddle.
- 10:28Speaker 6: Man, no, listen, listen.
- 10:29Speaker 5: I came back like I was like, yo, no sitting
- 10:33Speaker 5: down pre shift, Let's huddle up. It's almost like you
- 10:35Speaker 5: about to call a play. Let's huddle up and let's
- 10:37Speaker 5: have a quick meeting. Right. And it was so impactful
- 10:40Speaker 5: that one of my services DM me, she was like,
- 10:42Speaker 5: oh my gosh, appreciate was so amazing. It really motivated
- 10:45Speaker 5: me and it inspired the staff and helped us have
- 10:49Speaker 5: a better day. But one thing I preached to my
- 10:51Speaker 5: staff is like, you know, like I don't want nobody
- 10:53Speaker 5: to be with me being an employee of Mind forever.
- 10:55Speaker 5: If there's a way I can help or knowledge, I can,
- 10:57Speaker 5: you know, pass down because a lot of people are
- 10:59Speaker 5: like you know, my age and people who are from
- 11:03Speaker 5: New Orleans, part of the community, and got a lot
- 11:05Speaker 5: of questions and I'm here to answer those questions. But
- 11:08Speaker 5: I think you know, one of my young man that
- 11:11Speaker 5: works for me, he was like, Yo, how can I
- 11:15Speaker 5: learn from you?
- 11:15Speaker 3: And my words?
- 11:16Speaker 5: My response was, I said, stay close because because I
- 11:22Speaker 5: invite you know, all them, like they go they work
- 11:24Speaker 5: at the spot, but then they come to Treehouse. They're
- 11:26Speaker 5: free bottles whatever they want. Like I make sure my
- 11:28Speaker 5: staff have a good time if they want to go
- 11:29Speaker 5: out whatever. But like you know, stay close. I'm available,
- 11:32Speaker 5: Like you know, I'm honestly too available at times because
- 11:35Speaker 5: I'm in every group message, I'm in every conversation, you
- 11:38Speaker 5: know when I don't have to be. But I'm a
- 11:40Speaker 5: part of you know, everything that's going on because I
- 11:42Speaker 5: care about it. And you know, I wouldn't be able
- 11:45Speaker 5: to build what I'm building without people who believe in me.
- 11:48Speaker 5: And just even you know, whether it's a server busser chef.
- 11:50Speaker 5: You know, Ed shout out to Ed. You know, he's
- 11:53Speaker 5: been with us since day won. One of our executive
- 11:56Speaker 5: chefs said, Moros, you know, he's been a big help.
- 11:58Speaker 5: And them believing in me and me believing in them
- 12:01Speaker 5: has helped.
- 12:01Speaker 6: It's just what's the cups up? You said? The cups up?
- 12:04Speaker 6: The cups up.
- 12:04Speaker 5: So it's like basically like when I went out there,
- 12:07Speaker 5: there was trying every dish before they open, right, because
- 12:10Speaker 5: you can identify what's just off right. And it's something
- 12:13Speaker 5: as simple as that. So all right, cool, we need
- 12:15Speaker 5: to cups up twenty minutes before the doors open up.
- 12:17Speaker 5: Whatever it's not right, either eighty six it meaning get.
- 12:19Speaker 6: Rid of it or you know it, fix it like
- 12:23Speaker 6: it tastes testing.
- 12:24Speaker 5: It tastes testing, right, So just something as simple as
- 12:26Speaker 5: that would just help change what your day look like
- 12:28Speaker 5: because you're gonna save on food costs, things getting sent back.
- 12:31Speaker 5: You're gonna save in a bunch of different ways. And
- 12:33Speaker 5: like I said, it's low profit margins. You know, like
- 12:35Speaker 5: the restaurant industry mistakes, right, but you can if you
- 12:39Speaker 5: manage it properly. But the restaurant industry is one of
- 12:42Speaker 5: those things that it can make you successful if you
- 12:44Speaker 5: utilize it properly. Cash flow it can help you go
- 12:47Speaker 5: acquire real estate, it can help you acquire things. You know,
- 12:50Speaker 5: help with my p and ls. At the end of
- 12:52Speaker 5: the year, like the bang look at my p and
- 12:53Speaker 5: ls and they see how much cash flaw I got,
- 12:55Speaker 5: and it's like it makes it easier when I go acquire,
- 12:57Speaker 5: when I go acquire whatever house, whatever state. It's just helped.
- 13:01Speaker 5: So that's how a lot of restaurant tours and people
- 13:03Speaker 5: in this industry are. Anybody with cash flow. If you
- 13:05Speaker 5: got cash flow and you stand on top of your
- 13:07Speaker 5: p and ls and you can show, you know, you
- 13:09Speaker 5: could you could show, you know, to bank your numbers,
- 13:11Speaker 5: it's like it help you to go acquire things.
- 13:14Speaker 3: You know.
- 13:15Speaker 5: So then that's another thing I use it for because
- 13:18Speaker 5: it's like it's helping build make me a stronger person
- 13:23Speaker 5: company to just have a nice cash flow and be
- 13:26Speaker 5: able to look at things differently.
- 13:29Speaker 3: You know.
- 13:35Speaker 1: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
