- 0:11On the web at MB Radio dot. As veterans, we begin new lives
- 0:16when we leave our military service.
- 0:19What is faith? How do we incorporate faith in
- 0:22service and after what resources are available?
- 0:27Who do we talk with about faith? These are some of the many
- 0:31questions that one may ponder in searching for answers to the
- 0:35meaning of life. Join The Revivalists and let's
- 0:39search for some answers together.
- 0:41Luke 923 Then he said to them, All, Whoever wants to be my
- 0:47disciple must deny themselves, and take up their cross daily,
- 0:51and follow me. Hello everybody, welcome to the
- 1:32Revivalist Radio Show. It is Monday, July 13th.
- 1:35Dear of our Lord 2026. Daryl, how are you today?
- 1:41Hola Senorita. Hey, I'm back in my home studio.
- 1:50And and she won't tell you how many actual Texas safety and
- 1:53traffic laws she broke trying to get back to Texas, but.
- 1:56None. That's another episode.
- 1:59Cruise control is my friend. None, Did you?
- 2:05Have your, did you have your podcast on and all that good
- 2:07stuff? I, you know, do my normal,
- 2:10listen to different shows on Netflix and Prime and, you know,
- 2:16'cause I just visual. I, you know, I do the
- 2:19imagination thing and just listen to it as I'm driving.
- 2:24So I, you know, it's one way, I think for me to not get
- 2:30hypnotized by the road because your imagination has to work.
- 2:35That's a real. Thing evil.
- 2:37It's a real thing. Right, it is.
- 2:39Yeah, it is. We should do AO on it actually.
- 2:43Oh, we probably could. You know, I had to had I got new
- 2:47glasses and so that was the other glasses I had on the new
- 2:52ones. These are my computer glasses.
- 2:55I just see better in them on the computer than than these.
- 3:00Though I do like my new glasses but I tell you they helped a
- 3:06bunch when I was doing archery and golf.
- 3:12Man you can see target so much better.
- 3:15Yeah, that's probably why you got the nice score you got too.
- 3:18You got. The yeah, yeah, I'm excited.
- 3:21You know, I saw the real scores finally posted on the VA website
- 3:27and I was like, man, I could have gotten gold if I had used
- 3:31the right pin when I was shooting at the 30 yard.
- 3:35Could have been so much better. But it's OK, Lesson learned
- 3:38first the, you know, first time in competition with archery.
- 3:42So I'm not, I'm not this and. If somebody says something, even
- 3:48that's one more silver medal that they don't have.
- 3:51Well, true. But you know, The funny thing
- 3:54is, is, you know, there is a different perception about women
- 4:00from men when they're seeing a woman walking around with a
- 4:04compound bow. There's a whole level of respect
- 4:08that you don't get that you know, when when you don't carry.
- 4:15So it was kind of funny a couple weeks ago here at the local
- 4:18archery range that I went to. The guy had said, he goes, uh
- 4:24oh, she's dangerous. I laugh because I'm like,
- 4:29really, Nobody's ever called me dangerous looking, you know?
- 4:33He goes, hey, you're caring, you're dangerous, you know, you
- 4:37shoot. You shoot somebody with that,
- 4:38they'll know what dangerous is. Yeah, right.
- 4:41Even the practice arrow that you know, it's got a little bit of
- 4:45tip and it probably, I mean, it could puncture into the bales
- 4:49when you shoot them. That's right.
- 4:52It could still hurts. It could still hurt somebody and
- 4:55yeah, I do shoot well enough. I'm going to hurt somebody so.
- 5:00Even from distance. Even from distance.
- 5:05The closer you are, hey, better watch out, better watch out so.
- 5:10There's no turning back. Right.
- 5:14So the drive was, I want to say, in some ways largely uneventful.
- 5:19So very nice. Although I did pass by a semi
- 5:24tractor yesterday that had traffic backed up in Arkansas a
- 5:29really long way, both directions.
- 5:32It was on fire by the time I got to it, it was pretty much burnt
- 5:37to almost nothing but the metal uprights on the trailer part
- 5:42itself. So I hope nobody got hurt, you
- 5:46know, but but I had a beautiful campsite and I'm I'm so thankful
- 5:52that I have the opportunity to, you know, I detour out of my way
- 5:58when I go to theserecreation.gov campgrounds because, you know, I
- 6:03was in the Smokies and it's just so beautiful to see the
- 6:10surrounding area and you know, the air is so much fresher too.
- 6:17It, it's just, it just kind of gives you some encouragement and
- 6:21you and I still had some, you know, technology that I could
- 6:27get even though I was down in the valley right next to the
- 6:31little Creek that was right there.
- 6:34But it you know, so it's easier to unplug when you can't get
- 6:39reception very well. But it it wait a.
- 6:44Minute your your your reception was inhibited.
- 6:48Well, it is when you're on the other side of the mountain
- 6:52compared to where everybody else is at.
- 6:54So I was just South of Knoxville, but literally in the
- 7:00foothills of the Rockies. But the all of the town and
- 7:05everything was on the other side of the mountain.
- 7:07So I had to go up one side and then come down the other side.
- 7:11And it was kind of neat that just outside of the federal land
- 7:19where this park was, there was a veteran that lives right there.
- 7:24And he had a sign that said, basically to the effect of, you
- 7:31know, I'm not a loser. I'm not a, I'm not crazy.
- 7:34I'm a veteran. And I think that's really
- 7:38important, you know, for us to think about why do we do what we
- 7:42do on military broadcast radio? We're giving veterans a voice.
- 7:47We're helping with the moral injury healing and recovery side
- 7:51of things. And you know, like I discussed
- 7:55with you last week, Jose and I did lots of ministering the
- 8:01first week when we were at the VA Golden Age game.
- 8:06And, you know, we, we both had a, a couple of days in between
- 8:11'cause, you know, he lives in the area where, where last
- 8:16week's, I want to say it's a retreat, but it's a, it's a
- 8:22adult camp, you know, common ground.
- 8:24So he lives there local and was able to sleep at his home every
- 8:28night. I was staying in the dorm and,
- 8:33you know, getting to visit with other veterans.
- 8:35The nice thing about that is that ministry happens in
- 8:43different types of settings, so one was all about that
- 8:47competition side of things last week at Common Ground.
- 8:52We're meeting people where they are and enjoying things for I
- 8:58want to say like entertainment and you know, finding a hobby.
- 9:04How do you enjoy life when you're sitting at home?
- 9:08Not going to the gym, but when you're sitting at home, maybe
- 9:11learning how to play the guitar or make jewelry?
- 9:15Cause Betty was making jewelry. We took the wine tasting class
- 9:19together. Jose came and sat in.
- 9:22Tyler was up there with us as well.
- 9:25And you know, the neat thing is a because of our military
- 9:28experiences, we have been exposed to different wines in
- 9:34Germany. You know, like I was able to
- 9:36talk about Sperlezza, you know, which is a type of wine in the
- 9:41Riesling family. It's a Riesling Sperlezza is a
- 9:45really tasty wine. So, you know, when you were
- 9:49enjoying these things and we you learning to appreciate the
- 9:54exposures in the military that we've had, then it kind of makes
- 10:00that healing and trauma, you know, the trauma healing and
- 10:03recovery side of things. You find that niche of, you
- 10:08know, maybe I'm a little bit, I know a little bit more about
- 10:11some worldly things than what I thought the cultural exposure is
- 10:17a little bit more broadened than what somebody might get if
- 10:20they'd never left Texas or Maryland or Delaware or, you
- 10:23know, Timbuktu, Oklahoma, you know.
- 10:28So ANYWAYS, it's. Or or BFE.
- 10:32Yeah, true. So how was your week been?
- 10:40Eva, I'm just being obedient. Being obedient.
- 10:50It's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's a difficult
- 10:52trail for most people, but not for me.
- 10:56I, I, I know what it is. And you, you, you go do it.
- 11:00But here's some fascinating facts.
- 11:03So, you know, I told you, I'm getting these resonance and
- 11:06things out of the way. And the more I'm, and the more
- 11:09I'm doing that, the more I'm really learning about the
- 11:12essence of caregiving. Because you live it every day
- 11:17too. People ought to know that you
- 11:20are living the caregiver life. Yeah, yeah.
- 11:26And it's, it's not getting any particularly better for her, but
- 11:35it's, it's stable where she can take care of herself.
- 11:40She knows who she is. She knows who I am certainly.
- 11:43And there's been no major accidents or anything like that.
- 11:47But nonetheless, she's been reduced to where she is now.
- 11:52I'm so sorry. You know, I've been through that
- 11:56side of things and it's not easy, you know, Sorry guys, I'm
- 12:01uncomfortable. All that sitting the last, you
- 12:05know, three days, I'm like my back is just not.
- 12:10Yeah, it's not coming. So wait a minute, you're going,
- 12:12you're going to go get it cracked at some point, aren't
- 12:14you? It's pending, right?
- 12:17Cracked. Yeah, you're going to
- 12:18chiropractor, massage therapist, you're.
- 12:20Going to Oh well, I definitely need to go see the massage
- 12:24therapist. It's been about 3 weeks.
- 12:27Was I, I think I was supposed to have had a chiropractor
- 12:30appointment earlier today and. Yeah, right.
- 12:34Whoops. Yeah, life, yeah, life happens
- 12:37and yeah, yeah, whoops. Well, and.
- 12:42And, and everybody, Eva also has been very thrifty in her time
- 12:46today, you know, she's a. I'm almost an I'm almost an
- 12:53empty nester, not quite an empty nester, but I have a new empty
- 12:58room in my house and so I can move furniture and stuff around.
- 13:05I can, you know, re appropriate where things go and you know,
- 13:11it's not school because I gave my daughter a couch that had in
- 13:14my bedroom. Yes, my bedroom is big enough
- 13:17for a couch and a king size bed and a whole bunch of furniture,
- 13:20but you? Better you better stop even the
- 13:22brothers going to be inquiring them I'm.
- 13:24Trying to do that no, but I but I vacuumed and shampooed both
- 13:31rooms today, my room and the room that used to be my
- 13:35daughter's room. So it feels you know there's
- 13:39nothing like the smell of clean carpet.
- 13:43You know, just really fresh and clean carpet.
- 13:46So I I'm did. You have your own.
- 13:51Did you have your own mix of things or you do carpet fresh or
- 13:55what did you use? No.
- 13:57So I use Melaleuca. I have and I have a shampooer
- 14:02already. I guess I'm, I'm bougie like
- 14:05that. I have a carpet shampoo.
- 14:07You you, you know when you have kids and you have dogs, you know
- 14:12have the. Shampoos it's.
- 14:14An investment? Yeah, it's an investment.
- 14:17And I'm bougie too. I got 1.
- 14:21You know, I don't care about bougie being bougie, Sedini.
- 14:24I sure do have one. It it is what it is.
- 14:27You just learn how to be smart. It's and it's so much more
- 14:30convenient than trying to go rent a machine.
- 14:35So anyway. I know you got it.
- 14:37You got to go down there. You, you got the, you got it,
- 14:40and then you got to take it. Out and you got to drag it and
- 14:43load and unload and then clean and then unload and load and
- 14:47then unload again. Yeah, I don't got time for that.
- 14:50That's just, you know, my time is too valuable.
- 14:54That that and they say it's 3999, but it's not.
- 14:57Because then it's all the other chemicals and they want you to
- 15:00buy all of their stuff. But I use the Melaleuca.
- 15:04I really, really love the smell of it.
- 15:08And I pretreated a couple of the spots with the spot cleaner
- 15:12stuff that's actually designed for clothes to wash.
- 15:16But I used it for the carpet. Man, it smelled so good.
- 15:23I mean, yeah, I I think the next time when you come over the
- 15:29house will look so different a rearranging things and yeah,
- 15:35it's just going to feel clean and not just cleaner, but you
- 15:41know, aesthetically that yin Yang kind of thing is going to
- 15:46be more balanced. So anyhoo, anyhoo, it's already
- 15:531/4 after you want to lead us into prayer, please.
- 15:57Sure, sure. And then the Father, Son and the
- 15:59Holy Spirit, Lord, we are so thankful that you are our
- 16:03Father, God, Lord and Creator. We thank you, Lord, for the time
- 16:06that you've spent to us. And we thank you, Lord, for the
- 16:09time that we spend with other people, with the word of God,
- 16:13your Word, Lord, and faith, hope and love.
- 16:16And we know, of course, the greatest of those things is
- 16:18love. Without love, there's nothing
- 16:20else. So those we take the time to say
- 16:23thank you to you and we honor Christ Jesus, our Lord, Savior,
- 16:27demon king. We honor the Holy Spirit with
- 16:30who gives us words of wisdom that only come from you.
- 16:33And we thank you Lord, for Genesis 40.
- 16:35Or we get more and more into who the prototypical Christ is,
- 16:41which is Joseph, and we learn to be more like all of the
- 16:45patriarchs and the prophets and understand also we are those
- 16:50people that we read and learn about.
- 16:52We love you, Father, because you first loved us.
- 16:55It's the name that is Christ Jesus and the presence of the
- 16:57Holy Spirit that your daughters, sons, friends and servants.
- 17:00We say Amen, Amen and Amen. The name of the Father, Son and
- 17:03the Holy Spirit. Amen.
- 17:06Amen. You know, it was so funny.
- 17:08I was as I was messaging you and I was like, are we on chapter 46
- 17:13or 47 'cause I think we were supposed to have 46 and then we
- 17:17talked about something else and then we talked to we're supposed
- 17:20to have 47 and then and then we talked about something else on
- 17:24Chapter 47. So I think we did 46 'cause that
- 17:28was. We did.
- 17:30Went to Egypt. We did, we did, we did.
- 17:34And and that's and we, we did. We did the lineage, we read the
- 17:38name. Yes, I remember reading the
- 17:39lineage and I was like, OK, yeah, I think we I did that one
- 17:42already. But I haven't updated my YouTube
- 17:46for for all of these episodes in between since I was last here at
- 17:52the house. So anyways, we'll get that done.
- 17:55I'll get that done here. I just thought that was so funny
- 18:01that yeah, it's brain cramping. You know, we still get brain
- 18:04cramps. It's OK.
- 18:05It's fine. It's fine, yeah, But you know,
- 18:08even 1% of you is betting a whole lot of folk in the world.
- 18:12I'm just. You know, I try, I try, think.
- 18:21I think it's showing. There we go. 4747.
- 18:25Yeah, 47. OK, let me.
- 18:30The New International Version Study Bible says.
- 18:34Yes, Yep. Joseph went and told Pharaoh, My
- 18:39father and brothers, with their flocks and herds and everything
- 18:43they own have come from the land of Canaan and are now in Goshen.
- 18:48He chose five of his brothers and presented them before
- 18:51Pharaoh. Pharaoh asked the brothers, What
- 18:55is your occupation? Your servants are shepherds.
- 18:58They replied to Pharaoh, just as our fathers were.
- 19:01They also said to him, we have come to live here for a while
- 19:06because the famine is severe in Canaan and your servants flocks
- 19:10have no pasture. So now please let us, your
- 19:14servants settle in Goshen. Pharaoh said to Joseph.
- 19:18Your father and your brothers have come to you, and the land
- 19:22of Egypt is before you. Settle your father and your
- 19:25brothers in the best part of the land.
- 19:28Let them live in Goshen, and if you know of any among them with
- 19:32special ability, put them in charge of my own livestock.
- 19:37Then Joseph brought his father Jacob in and presented him
- 19:41before Pharaoh. After Jacob blessed Pharaoh,
- 19:45Pharaoh asked him, How old are you?
- 19:48And Jacob said to Pharaoh, The years of my pilgrimage are 130.
- 19:54My years have been few and difficult, and they do not equal
- 19:58the years of the pilgrimage of my father's.
- 20:01Then Jacob blessed Pharaoh and went out from his presence.
- 20:05So Joseph settled his father and his brothers in Egypt and gave
- 20:10them property in the best part of the land, the district of
- 20:13Ramses, as Pharaoh directed. Joseph also provided his father
- 20:18and his brother and all his house father's household with
- 20:21food according to the number of their children.
- 20:25Joseph and the famine There was no food, however, in the whole
- 20:30region because the famine was severe.
- 20:33Both Egypt and Canaan wasted away because of the famine.
- 20:37Joseph collected all the money that was to be found in Egypt
- 20:41and Canaan and payment for the grain that they were buying, and
- 20:44he brought it to Pharaoh's palace.
- 20:46When the money of the people of Egypt and Canaan were gone, all
- 20:51Egypt came to Joseph and said, give us food.
- 20:55Why should we die before your eyes?
- 20:57Our money is all gone. Then bring your livestock, said
- 21:01Joseph. I will sell you food in exchange
- 21:04for your livestock, since your money is gone.
- 21:07So they brought their livestock to Joseph and he gave them food
- 21:11in exchange for the horses, their sheep and goats, their
- 21:14cattle and donkeys. And he brought them through the
- 21:18year with the food in exchange for all their livestock.
- 21:22When that year was over, they came to him the following year
- 21:26and said, We cannot hide from our Lord the fact that since our
- 21:30money is gone and our livestock belongs to you, there is nothing
- 21:35left for our Lord except our bodies and our land.
- 21:39Why should we perish before your eyes?
- 21:41We and our land as well, by us and our land in exchange for
- 21:47food. And we with our land will be in
- 21:50bondage to Pharaoh. Give us seeds so that we may
- 21:54live and not die, and that the land may not become desolate.
- 22:00So Joseph bought all the land in Egypt for Pharaoh.
- 22:03The Egyptians 1 and all sold their fields because the famine
- 22:07was too severe for them. The land became Pharaoh.
- 22:11Pharaohs and Joseph reduced the land.
- 22:14Sorry and Joseph reduce the people to servitude from one end
- 22:18of Egypt to the other. However, he did not buy the land
- 22:23of the priest because they received a regular allotment
- 22:26from Pharaoh and had enough and had food enough from the
- 22:31allotment Pharaoh gave them. That is why they did not sell
- 22:34their land. Joseph said to the people, Now
- 22:38that I have bought you and your land today for Pharaoh, here is
- 22:42seed for you. So you can plant the ground, but
- 22:45when the crop comes in, give 1/5 of it to Pharaoh.
- 22:50The other 4/5 you may keep a seed for the fields and as food
- 22:54for yourselves and your households and your children.
- 22:58You have saved our lives, they said.
- 23:01Maybe we find favor in the lot. In the eyes of our Lord.
- 23:05We will be in bondage to Pharaoh.
- 23:08So Joseph established it as a law concerning land in Egypt,
- 23:12still in force today, that 1/5 of the produce belongs to
- 23:16Pharaoh. It was only the land of the
- 23:19priests that did not become Pharaohs.
- 23:22Now the Israelites settled in Egypt, in the region of Goshen.
- 23:26They acquired property there and were fruitful and increased
- 23:29greatly in number. Jacob lived in Egypt 17 years,
- 23:35and the years of his life were 147.
- 23:38When the time drew near for Israel to die, he called for his
- 23:43own Joseph and said to him, If I found favor in your eyes, put
- 23:48your hand under my thigh and promise that you will show me
- 23:52kindness and faithfulness. Do not bury me in Egypt, but
- 23:57when I rest with my father's, carry me out of Egypt and bury
- 24:01me where they are buried. I will do as you say, He said.
- 24:06Swear to me, he said. Then Joseph swore to him, and
- 24:11Israel worshipped as he leaned on the top of his staff.
- 24:15These are the words of our Lord. Did you say something there?
- 24:25I said Amen. Amen.
- 24:29A lot there. Here, here we are.
- 24:31We have Jacob at 130 years of age.
- 24:35He, he, he knows that it's at any time he's going to be called
- 24:38home. He, he knows this.
- 24:40But God gave him 17 more years to be with Joseph in Egypt.
- 24:46That's 17. When Joseph left 17 to 30, he
- 24:51was in prison 13 years. So Jacob's thinking, it's all
- 24:57over. That's why he was so enamored
- 25:01and embraced Benjamin the way that he did.
- 25:04Because I can't lose another son.
- 25:07You know these other these other tenants the.
- 25:12Rest of his sons, them cats with this one here.
- 25:15He's by my side every single day.
- 25:17You know, it's interesting, too. We don't know how old Benjamin
- 25:20was. It's not it's, it's not spoken
- 25:25of. He's a minor, minor character,
- 25:28yeah. He gave the blessing and we'll
- 25:30find that out in chapter 49 when he gave the blessings to his
- 25:34son. We'll see how it was all lined
- 25:38up because the the birthright, the blessing normally goes to
- 25:44the eldest child. Didn't happen when that
- 25:47happened, but we're going to find out why.
- 25:51I thought there was a lot to unpack here.
- 25:56You know, I think everything from a business model and I
- 26:01don't know if you could see the business model side of things,
- 26:05but I could. But, but this father son
- 26:10relationship, the relationship between Pharaoh and you know
- 26:18what he's allowing to happen with this family, you know, with
- 26:25his family in, in Egypt, that he's, he didn't know these, he
- 26:31doesn't know these people at all, but he knew who Joseph was
- 26:36and he's rolling out the red carpet for them and.
- 26:40And Eva, Can you imagine? Joseph looks totally different.
- 26:44He looks like an Egyptian. Oh yeah, I would.
- 26:48I bet, right? Because he.
- 26:50It's probably frightening to see him because he looks totally
- 26:54different. For Israel, Yeah, yes, yeah.
- 26:57I mean, yeah, because he would be like, is this my son like.
- 27:01He got on the eyeliner, He got on the eyeliner the mascot.
- 27:05He got the garb on. And the language that he's.
- 27:10Speaking And he picked it up. He picked it up.
- 27:14Yeah. I mean, that would be, you know,
- 27:19but the word that kept popping in there through for me through
- 27:23this whole chapter, I guess really these past two chapters
- 27:27was trust, the amount of trust that each of these characters
- 27:36had to have been bodied. And I want to say really their
- 27:41relationship with God. You want me to go where?
- 27:45I mean, Can you imagine Israel? You want me to go where you want
- 27:48me to go to Egypt? You want me to walk away from
- 27:51everything I've known this whatever we've built, you know,
- 27:56whatever he built with his family and his, all of his, you
- 28:00know, concubine wives and all of his kids.
- 28:03There you, there you go the. Concubine, right.
- 28:07Well, I mean, yeah, all the ides, but to walk away from all
- 28:12of that and then and then to have the the carpet rolled out
- 28:17and now you're getting the best of everything.
- 28:20You you get the best, the best property.
- 28:23Oh, you know what Pharaoh says. Hey, feel free if somebody's got
- 28:28some special abilities. Take care of my my flock as
- 28:31well. Take care of my livestock.
- 28:34That's a lot of trust. It is.
- 28:39That came from the relationship that Joseph had with the
- 28:43Pharaoh, and the Pharaoh's like, hey, if this guy is special,
- 28:51then I've got to trust that he's going to take care of me and my
- 28:55people. Right.
- 28:57And you also saw, because we you read it, that Jacob blessed
- 29:04Pharaoh. Yes, I read that.
- 29:07Yeah, I, I saw that. I was like, wow, So Pharaoh
- 29:13knows that there's something special about these people and
- 29:21don't, don't tempt God by messing with them because it
- 29:25might feel comfortable, you know, thinking that.
- 29:29OK, yes, Israel's all of his kids are really, you know, part
- 29:34of the ice. But there's something special
- 29:37about Joseph and his father. Right.
- 29:41And don't don't mess with them. Absolutely, Absolutely.
- 29:46But I. Saw and we are.
- 29:48And wait a minute. We also know too, because
- 29:51there's a recurring theme. Eyesight lost.
- 29:56So Isaac lost his sight. Israel lost, lost or was losing
- 30:03his sight rapidly and when we go back and look at.
- 30:14Oh, we just lost you. No.
- 30:17When we go back, can you hear me?
- 30:19Yeah, I can hear you. We can't see you though.
- 30:23OK, when I'll do something, when I get when I'm done with this.
- 30:28So when we go back and we listen to the story of Isaac, Jacob and
- 30:32Esau, in some ways that happened to Jacob too.
- 30:38He got tricked. He got tricked.
- 30:50That that was me. Sorry.
- 30:55You there. You there?
- 31:03I am. Yeah, sorry.
- 31:04I think, I think I barely was trying to rub some stuff off of
- 31:10my mouse and oops, there it went.
- 31:13It's OK. It's OK.
- 31:15So we we see the Lord God has a sense of humor too, right.
- 31:19That, you know, it wasn't, it was actually the chickens coming
- 31:23home to roost with Jacob because of some things he had done.
- 31:27And also he was being enabled by his mother, Rebecca.
- 31:33So yeah, while you were out, you know, having fun in in Florida
- 31:39Keys and such, I. I didn't go to the keys but OK,
- 31:47I have not ever. Been to the Keys even even with
- 31:50scuba diving and and jet skiing down in the keys y'all?
- 31:53That's where I was going. I went and did a deep dive on
- 32:00Rachel. Oh, really?
- 32:04Oh my gosh, Eva, this, you know, you know, the, the, the
- 32:07scripture's silent in a lot of areas regarding her life.
- 32:11Yeah. This is a godly woman.
- 32:17Well, I think. That he knew.
- 32:18That he knew that from the beginning.
- 32:21That's why he fell in love with her.
- 32:23And I think it's why he mourned her so much that, you know, she
- 32:29in some ways I think was his, his essence, right?
- 32:32He, he, he was equally yoked with her and, and kept him
- 32:38grounded. And I, I think, you know, when
- 32:41you're looking for that partner in life, you have to look for
- 32:44somebody that you're equally yoked in because otherwise all
- 32:47of his other concubines were just for pleasure's sake, you
- 32:54know, whatever business relationship that came of it.
- 32:59I mean, because that's how they look at, you know, those that
- 33:03culture looks at their relationships with women is they
- 33:06are about producing children. They're not about, you know, the
- 33:11real relationship between a husband and a wife.
- 33:18Rachel. Rachel, can you hear me?
- 33:24See me? You see both you.
- 33:25Hear and see me. OK, Rachel probably wasn't as
- 33:33angry as one probably would expect because her sister Leah
- 33:36was in relation with with Jacob and Bill Hart.
- 33:40And can you, can you hear and see me?
- 33:48We can hear you, cannot see you. You better quit hitting the
- 33:52mouse evil. I didn't do anything this time.
- 33:55Hands are not on the desk. Sorry, but I am burping.
- 34:06Yeah, I think we lost you there.
- 34:21I don't believe that Rachel would be as upset as one would
- 34:25believe because God was already in the plan with this thing.
- 34:29And no, he did not sanction multiple wives and concubines
- 34:34and marriages and such because it's it's you can see, you can
- 34:38see the upheaval with those sons and their mothers, the heights
- 34:45and all this going on, right? So God was the stabilizing force
- 34:53in all of this? Sure, it takes a lot of energy
- 34:57to manage those Ites too. Come.
- 35:00On evil. Come on, come on evil.
- 35:02You know you when we were first talking about this need.
- 35:05To manage the. It does.
- 35:07I think we're even seeing that in the world today, how much
- 35:13energy it takes to manage the Ites.
- 35:16And you know, I don't know, I probably get in trouble with.
- 35:22That all all all all the mice and and you know what the evil
- 35:29we there are descendants of the ice still.
- 35:33I I know that's my point, right? That's the point.
- 35:36They're descendants of the ice. And the those cultures have not
- 35:41changed over the years. They have not evolved.
- 35:45I was reading something earlier today.
- 35:49Now don't quote me if it's a statistic for real, but the
- 35:54assumption to some degree is that it is true.
- 35:59And and the the comment was that the a lot of the Muslim people,
- 36:09men are bisexual because they are they see having physical
- 36:18relationships with women only as a delivery mechanism to keep
- 36:24their population going. But they but they have these
- 36:28relationships with other men. Although gay relationships are
- 36:34frowned upon, they are quite OK with having relationships with
- 36:40young boys. And I was like, OK, this is the
- 36:46ice. This is the ice.
- 36:50And and, you know, that's hard to think that we have not
- 36:58evolved over the years or maybe the, you know, the whole Sodom
- 37:03and Gomorrah stuff that we have read about already is still
- 37:08being propagated in other organizations because they're
- 37:16not religions. They are, you know, a culture
- 37:20that think that it's OK and yet women are being subservient.
- 37:28And, and I'm going to segue real fast because, you know, there
- 37:33was something, there was something I, I, I sent you the
- 37:36other day. Remember, we, we talked about
- 37:40the Southern Baptist Convention and I was like, man, this is
- 37:44looking like a slippery slope. What are they going to do next?
- 37:48Take away the woman's right to vote?
- 37:51And don't you know, folks, that's exactly what I saw on a
- 37:56post that there is a proposition afoot to take away women's right
- 38:04to vote and relegate it to one vote per household.
- 38:14We can the other. Way.
- 38:16Oh my. God.
- 38:18And I was like, yeah, I didn't want to be right on that one.
- 38:22I didn't want to be right. We're waiting for Daryl to come
- 38:31back on. You know, folks, I don't, I
- 38:35don't like being right on these things.
- 38:38I don't like being what is the word?
- 38:42I don't like being prophetic and it, you know, it kind of feels
- 38:50like I was being prophetic on that one.
- 38:53But that I, but I told you, I, I, I said that about what's
- 38:58next. They're going to take away our
- 39:00right to vote. That was over a month ago,
- 39:03right? And to see that article that,
- 39:08yes, there is a proposition out there to take our vote away.
- 39:16Yeah, yeah, yeah. OK, Eva.
- 39:18Eva. But you, you have a lot of
- 39:20strong women in leadership now that that would be a battle of
- 39:24epic proportions. Right.
- 39:27I mean, that's a whole different kind of so.
- 39:29Many Nancy Pelosi may come back. Nancy Pelosi may come back in
- 39:33some capacity. Love, love, dislike or hate her,
- 39:40She going. You know what?
- 39:44You're bringing up something that's that's, that's very, very
- 39:47potent. It's very powerful.
- 39:49Women had to fight that. People, Women, women bled sweat.
- 39:56Yes, we have been bleeding for this country since the birth of
- 40:00our country. I don't know if you realize that
- 40:05or not, but women have been serving our country.
- 40:09They have found their breasts and dressed as men, cut their
- 40:13hair, hid their female identity. We have been fighting for our
- 40:18country since before it was even born.
- 40:25We can't hear or see you again. So, you know, you think about
- 40:33the, you know, I feel like I know we're kind of off topic in
- 40:38a way from Chapter 47, but you mentioned this about Rachel and
- 40:45the relationship that she had with Joseph.
- 40:50And we have these underlying issues about, you know, the
- 40:56impact that women have had in the Bible and on society.
- 41:03It still becomes very relevant because I guarantee you, and we
- 41:07don't know, you know, Joseph's wife.
- 41:10I'm assuming he's married. OK, she was, she was a heathen.
- 41:15She was an idolatrous. OK.
- 41:18But she's not. She's not talked about.
- 41:21In here that she was given to him as a wife and they had two
- 41:25children, Vanessa and Ephraim. Yes.
- 41:28But but her. Name was Shara.
- 41:30OK. And.
- 41:31Now look at that name really closely, because when we get to,
- 41:34when we get, when we get to the Kings and the Chronicles, you go
- 41:39see the name. It's S it's, it's, it's a
- 41:41combination of what you're going to read about those, the Shara
- 41:44poles. That's like, I didn't understand
- 41:49what you said. I'm sorry, say that.
- 41:50Again. So the Shara Poles were like
- 41:52pornographic idolatry. Things you could do.
- 41:58Oh, that's right, because she was supposed to be the daughter
- 42:02of like a priest or something, right?
- 42:09Oh, you froze if I remember what chapter 45 or something right.
- 42:17He had he was given the daughter of a priest to Mary.
- 42:22Any who does that sound right? She she was the daughter of a
- 42:29priest, right? Yes, yes.
- 42:34And she was given to Joseph as his wife.
- 42:38OK. So listen, Joseph, if we really
- 42:43look at this closely, there's the purity of Christ there.
- 42:46Joseph was a virgin. He was a male virgin being given
- 42:55as a husband to someone. We don't know what the other
- 42:58woman's sexual proclivities were, but we know that Joseph
- 43:02had her as a wife. They had two children, right?
- 43:05She was a daughter of a priestess of a priest.
- 43:08I'm sorry, but we also know there was idolatry and magical
- 43:13work and wizardry and and those things too.
- 43:16So, and that doesn't surprise me.
- 43:18I was listening to the House of David as I drove and I think
- 43:25that was who was there was one of the characters, Saul, Saul's
- 43:31wife was into the magic side of things and you know it.
- 43:36Never. I just did never dawn on to me
- 43:39how much the dark side was right there in these, in these
- 43:47relationships with some people who were very much, you know, in
- 43:53God's favor. But mom, it's the same thing.
- 43:56I know today that they're, they're trying to take them
- 44:00down. Yes, yeah.
- 44:03But they're there to, to be a distractor to take these people
- 44:09down. You know, I, I mean, just, it's,
- 44:13you know, you, you think about what's the antagonist side of
- 44:18things. They need somebody who's going
- 44:21to lower the good person, take them down a peg and distract
- 44:25them from the life that they're supposed to leave supposed to
- 44:30live. But I say that in context with
- 44:34what the NIV note here says for verses one through 6, Joseph's,
- 44:41Joseph's faithfulness affected his entire family when he was in
- 44:47the pit and in prison. Joseph must have wondered about
- 44:52his future. And instead of despairing, he
- 44:55faithfully obeyed God and did what was right.
- 44:59And here's where we're seeing all the exciting results, you
- 45:02know, and I think that for a lot of people as they go through
- 45:07trials in life, you have to think about whether you're you
- 45:13are being faithful like God wants you to be.
- 45:16And don't allow yourself to get sucked into the suck the muck
- 45:22and and crawl through, you know, realize that you're going to
- 45:27crawl through and get out. But just because you're getting
- 45:31dragged through these things and you have some, you know, bad
- 45:35characters in your life trying to distract you, don't let that
- 45:39distract you from what your real purpose is.
- 45:42You got to keep moving forward on the on the plan that God has
- 45:47you on on their on his path. We can hear, but we cannot see
- 45:56you. If Joseph had not been obedient
- 46:01to God. Yep.
- 46:03We won't be hearing the story the way we're hearing it.
- 46:06Oh, for sure, for sure was trying to Oh, so I wanted to
- 46:12make sure because we don't have much time left go.
- 46:16And evil go and. Speak on it getting getting in,
- 46:20getting into 29 through 31. So this is where Jacob and
- 46:27Joseph are having this conversation about, you know,
- 46:32Jacob slash Israel recognizes his time on earth is not too
- 46:39long and he he makes Joseph promise.
- 46:47And, and the description that they talked about in here is
- 46:51putting a hand under the thigh was a sign of making a promise,
- 46:56much like shaking hands. Today Jacob had Joseph promise
- 47:01to bury him in his homeland. A few things were written in
- 47:05this culture. So a person's word carried as
- 47:08much force as a written contract does today.
- 47:12People today seem to find it easy to say I didn't mean that.
- 47:17God's people, however, are to speak the truth and live the
- 47:20truth. Let your words be as binding as
- 47:24a written contract. And I think that's really
- 47:28powerful. Darrell, when somebody asks you
- 47:33how you're doing today, there's two different types of
- 47:38responses. You can lie and say I'm fine.
- 47:42Oh, I'm. Great.
- 47:43Oh my God, the world. Right.
- 47:46Right. But do you dare ever say you
- 47:49know I'm having a tough day? We do.
- 47:55You and I do, You and I do. But how many people do you feel
- 48:01comfortable in really saying, you know, I'm struggling today?
- 48:08OK, here's the human and the mortal side of it.
- 48:12As as much as we can profess our faith and we could deliver the
- 48:16message of hope, faith and love. We're human and we're mortal.
- 48:20We don't want everybody knowing our business, right?
- 48:22That's. That's but we fake it till we
- 48:24make it and. Right, right.
- 48:27You know, that's a struggle though.
- 48:29You say you have to at least have one person in your life
- 48:33that you can be honest and say, man, Daryl, I'm not having a
- 48:38good day. That's going to call you out on
- 48:40your mess, evil. Yeah, right.
- 48:45I, I, I'm not afraid to tell people I'm going to be that one
- 48:50good friend that you have, whether it's you, whether it's a
- 48:55few other people, I'm going to call you out on it and say,
- 48:59listen, I got you. And and, you know, I don't mean
- 49:05it in a negative way, but I'm going to say yeah, no.
- 49:13There's no way. Hey sweetie, what's your what's
- 49:16your phrase though? If, if not now, when?
- 49:19Right, right. And if not me, who?
- 49:23Right. If if I had, I have AI was
- 49:28having a conversation with Jose, you know Jose from the motivated
- 49:32mindset and he's had some differences.
- 49:35He was telling this story and I didn't know he thought this
- 49:38about me. He goes, he goes, he goes, you
- 49:42know, when he's he said when he was going through different
- 49:44things, he goes, what would Eva do?
- 49:46I was like, Oh no, but he meant that as a compliment, right?
- 49:54Well, hold on Eva, look hey y'all and listening and viewing
- 49:58land. There's been some instances.
- 50:01Not so long ago I was getting ready to push play and and and I
- 50:06just saw Eva in the thought bubble and I didn't do it.
- 50:11Thank God. Thank God.
- 50:14Yes. But I'm going to be real with my
- 50:17friends. I'm good, you know, I'm going to
- 50:21be like Joseph and I'm going to I know God's got me on this
- 50:26path. He's got me cultivating this
- 50:30beautiful people garden and I can't fake it.
- 50:36I, I, I can't, you know, I told you I ministered all the whole
- 50:43past two weeks. While you were down in the
- 50:46Florida Keys, you ministered. In Tampa, yes, I was ministering
- 50:50all week long. You know, Jose and I both were.
- 50:54And Jose said he's serious about becoming a chaplain because
- 51:00he's, you know, he's got kind of a new different kind of
- 51:04assignment and working with veterans.
- 51:08And he, yes, he said he's serious about doing the.
- 51:12Chaplain, as I told you and I mentioned to him, it's a serious
- 51:18undertaking. It's just there, it really is.
- 51:21And then when it, when it, when it pops and it scratches and it
- 51:24bites him, he'll know. It'll be time.
- 51:27It'll be easy from there. What people don't know about Eva
- 51:33is is that and, she will just pop into your mind and and and.
- 51:39Should I have people that pop in my mind too?
- 51:41And that's a great thing. Yeah, I pray.
- 51:44I pray when I when that happens, I pray about them.
- 51:49Yeah. That's the people garden.
- 51:53And it's not because it's it's it's an epic book of yours.
- 51:57It's the reality of what we should be doing.
- 52:00We should be cultivating everything.
- 52:02You know, when my grass gets, you know, I don't cut my grass.
- 52:05I have somebody that does it and do it right.
- 52:08I didn't know I would cut it if I had to, But the reason I keep
- 52:12them is because not only they cut the grass, but they edge it
- 52:16deeply right. And, and they, they, they, they
- 52:18really do landscaping, cultivate it really well.
- 52:21And because I got the little, the Clover growing in right
- 52:24there, I'm pleased with it. That's what we should be doing
- 52:27with other people. But what happens is because
- 52:30we're human and we're mortal, we're like, well, you know, God
- 52:34to take care. God has sent you to do the job.
- 52:40And sometimes we're messengers. Yes.
- 52:44You know, we're messengers to people to help remind them and
- 52:48get them back on the right path. Because sometimes we
- 52:52inadvertently kind of wander. We, we go astray and we need to
- 52:57scoop back, back over. It's OK.
- 53:01There's a song by Jefferson's Starship in the 1980s, Probably
- 53:0881. It's called find your way back,
- 53:11right? All the other lyrics don't
- 53:13apply. But this with the title find
- 53:15your way back, right. We must do our very best to
- 53:19return back to those judeo-christian roots that
- 53:25pleases the Lord our God. Why?
- 53:28Because the word of God is written for us, not for him.
- 53:31It's for us. It is a it's a super fantastic
- 53:36blueprint for us to follow. Well, you know, man, yeah, if I
- 53:40just, if I just have something, I could just, you know, connect
- 53:43with you. Can you connect with this even?
- 53:48Think about it. Leviticus in numbers.
- 53:51We're the same people they were reading about in Genesis.
- 53:55Same folks. Same people I was, I was, I was
- 54:01talking to somebody else the other day and they said the same
- 54:06thing. I don't think they didn't even
- 54:07know we, you know, we were radio show hosts and they started
- 54:11talking about the people in Genesis.
- 54:13And they're like, man, we're not any different than the people in
- 54:17Genesis. It's like, no, yeah.
- 54:19That's right. Somebody got it.
- 54:21They got it. Somebody got it right.
- 54:25Even Noah got drunk. Even Noah got drunk.
- 54:28We're no different than them. Yeah, right.
- 54:35Same old, same old, I don't know, kind of funny.
- 54:38But you know, I, I think this whole thing about the business
- 54:45model and we didn't really talk too much about this, but this
- 54:49whole bondage side of things, you know, I get it to the point
- 54:55that they were saving many people, but this is definitely a
- 55:01big government model. If you think about it, you and I
- 55:04both are in the public administration side of things.
- 55:08And looking at that from our educational standpoint, that's
- 55:12big government. And there is some scary stuff in
- 55:18there that all of these people now are total servants to big
- 55:26government because they own nothing personally themselves,
- 55:31right? Think.
- 55:31Think about that. Right.
- 55:34There's danger in that. I mean, I just was like, Oh my
- 55:39gosh, as I read that and we think about, you know what?
- 55:44And your wife Angela and I both, you know, learned over at the
- 55:49university at DBU is that there is nothing new that we are doing
- 55:56that hasn't already been discussed and covered in the
- 56:01Bible. And and I've read the Bible
- 56:04before, but I didn't ever read it in this context of realizing
- 56:09that's big government, this whole bondage thing and sell us
- 56:15your everything and consolidation of everything
- 56:19under big government is a dangerous.
- 56:23It just happened here and it just happened here in 47.
- 56:27Yeah. You, you had all these big wigs.
- 56:31You never you never thought the family would affect them.
- 56:34You had all these people walking around with their heads in the
- 56:37clouds until the famine struck. And then when the money ran out,
- 56:43because it did, it doesn't even tell you.
- 56:45Recently I went through some I'm like, man, where'd that money
- 56:48go? There's stuff cost, right?
- 56:50When the money runs out, you have to liquidate everything
- 56:53else. Right, but the priests didn't
- 56:56need because they had provisions to cover them.
- 57:00But those priests almost were executed because they didn't
- 57:03tell Pharaoh with his dream. Imagine that.
- 57:07Imagine that. All right, Well, let's go.
- 57:10I. Told you our hour goes by fast
- 57:13I. Know, right, I think we covered
- 57:15a lot of ground and I'll go ahead and pop us into prayer,
- 57:21OK? Please.
- 57:23All right, dear Lord, thank you for gathering us all today.
- 57:26The last two weeks have been very impactful.
- 57:30There have been a lot of people popping in and out of my life
- 57:35and I am saying a special prayer for all of those who have
- 57:40participated in these events that you have gone back home,
- 57:45you found some healing in in your adventure.
- 57:50You found new friendships and relationships and I pray for
- 57:54each of them to have some healing that the whatever moral
- 58:00trauma they may have experienced before, they now feel the
- 58:06healing and recovery side. And thank you, father, for the
- 58:11opportunity to get to minister and meet with all of these
- 58:16different people. This is, I feel very blessed
- 58:19that you bestowed this honor to me and thank you for the safe
- 58:26travels that we've all experienced.
- 58:29And that whatever our next steps are, that you give us the great
- 58:35opportunity to keep serving others and just share your love
- 58:41and hope and faithfulness as Joseph has exhibited that we are

- 58:51in our people garden. Thank you for this honor and
