- 0:27Speaker 1: Gotta get that coffee in. Man, there you go, there
- 0:29Speaker 1: you go, gotta get that coffee in.
- 0:31Speaker 2: How are you taking the coffee this morning?
- 0:34Speaker 3: It's a cold and black, nice.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Cold and black.
- 0:39Speaker 3: So welcome to Trek Cast everyone, the Galaxy's most unpredictable
- 0:43Speaker 3: Star Trek Podcast.
- 0:44Speaker 1: I'm Scott and this is Daniel. How you doing?
- 0:48Speaker 2: Hey, what's going on?
- 0:48Speaker 1: Man? Hey? So, uh, Dan can't make the show today. Uh.
- 0:53Speaker 3: He had a friend of his uh pass away unexpectedly
- 0:57Speaker 3: and suddenly yesterday, so you know, he's not going to
- 1:00Speaker 3: be here, which is completely completely cool and I think
- 1:03Speaker 3: the behalf of Daniel and the rest of the track cast.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Listener family when we offer our condolences.
- 1:09Speaker 2: So yeah, absolutely he'll be back. He'll be back. But yeah,
- 1:13Speaker 2: absolutely needed the time, so for sure.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Yep.
- 1:16Speaker 2: So how are you I mean on that note? Yeah,
- 1:21Speaker 2: I'm good, I'm good. We we had my brother's birthday yesterday, okay,
- 1:26Speaker 2: happy note?
- 1:27Speaker 1: Nice?
- 1:27Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Yeah. He has gotten to the point though, because he's
- 1:31Speaker 2: he's got down syndrome and we're pretty sure he's got
- 1:33Speaker 2: a little bit of autism. Okay, he's gotten a little surly,
- 1:37Speaker 2: and so we we have to get two pinatas now,
- 1:40Speaker 2: one for one for him.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Ah, gotcha?
- 1:43Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, and uh so I got him a piata.
- 1:47Speaker 2: He bashed the hell out of that thing.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Awesome.
- 1:51Speaker 2: The good thing is he's willing to share all the
- 1:53Speaker 2: like candy and all that in it, Like that's how
- 1:55Speaker 2: he has no interest in that, but he just so well.
- 1:59Speaker 1: You know, I can't say I blame them. I mean
- 2:01Speaker 1: that that's perfect.
- 2:02Speaker 3: In fact, the next time we do a piniat at
- 2:03Speaker 3: one of my kids parties, I think too.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Yeah, it works really well.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Yeah yeah.
- 2:10Speaker 2: And I bought like a bunch of like candy and
- 2:12Speaker 2: uh like I found on Amazon you could get like
- 2:15Speaker 2: little prizes to put in there, you know, a little
- 2:17Speaker 2: like cars or it was like a little pairachute men
- 2:22Speaker 2: all these Yeah, just random junk like that. Anything that's
- 2:26Speaker 2: like bottom of the barrel and a chuck e cheese
- 2:28Speaker 2: like display.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Right. No, that's great. I love it. I love it.
- 2:32Speaker 1: All the little like trinket toys.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Yeah, Kris are going nuts, like all the like spider
- 2:37Speaker 2: rings and all that stuff.
- 2:38Speaker 1: You know. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's great, that's great.
- 2:43Speaker 2: There was even they had those things you blow and
- 2:45Speaker 2: it like shoots out the the thing. I don't don't
- 2:50Speaker 2: yeah yeah yeah, yeah yeah, So what are those?
- 2:56Speaker 1: But there's a name for him, right.
- 2:58Speaker 2: There's got to be there. There's a name for the
- 3:00Speaker 2: plastic tips on your on your shoelaces.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Right, yeah.
- 3:04Speaker 2: I used to know what that was called.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Yeah, there's there's gotta.
- 3:06Speaker 5: Be a yeah, that's yes, but whatever, chas Binz look
- 3:12Speaker 5: it up for us.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, what is what are those things called? But
- 3:15Speaker 2: uh but anyways, uh so the kids were grabbing those
- 3:20Speaker 2: because you know, they fell out of the piano and
- 3:21Speaker 2: I'm just like, oh, yeah, that's great. Just grab that
- 3:23Speaker 2: thing out of the floor and put it in your mouth.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Hey, whatever doesn't kill.
- 3:29Speaker 2: You, Yeah exactly. Jazzmin says, good morning. So hey, okay,
- 3:34Speaker 2: good yeah, get at it.
- 3:35Speaker 1: We got homework for you.
- 3:37Speaker 2: That's right. How about you?
- 3:38Speaker 1: How you been good? Real good?
- 3:41Speaker 3: Yesterday we went to the uh the allcan County Fair.
- 3:44Speaker 3: That's the county just north of US.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Oh.
- 3:46Speaker 1: No, it's the biggest fair in the area.
- 3:48Speaker 3: So they've got you know, they've got the uh, the
- 3:52Speaker 3: rides and and all that and they've got like a
- 3:55Speaker 3: little historic, tiny little town where they got a blacksmith
- 3:58Speaker 3: and a woodworker and cool schoolhouse and stuff, and they've
- 4:01Speaker 3: got you know, tons of you know, horrible awesome food,
- 4:06Speaker 3: and they've got they had demolition derby there yesterday. We
- 4:10Speaker 3: didn't go to see that, but they've they've got a
- 4:12Speaker 3: big arena for that, and uh wow. So yeah it
- 4:15Speaker 3: was oh yeah yeah, and and like like you know,
- 4:19Speaker 3: it's all the four h is there. So there's big
- 4:22Speaker 3: you know, barns with horses and chickens and cows and
- 4:26Speaker 3: rabbits and everything in between.
- 4:29Speaker 1: So it's always to think about it.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Today is the last day of the fair in Washington
- 4:34Speaker 2: and Spokane.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Okay, they're a big fair.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Yeah. They were excited because this year they got flow
- 4:39Speaker 2: Rider to perform there.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Yeah wow. How far are you following flow Rider?
- 4:49Speaker 3: Usually the county fairs, uh, usually we get the country artists.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Oh yeah, we get a lot of those. Uh. This
- 4:56Speaker 2: year we also had smash Mouth at the Idaho.
- 4:59Speaker 5: No.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Yeah, that's cool, which.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Is amazing because their lead singer died.
- 5:03Speaker 1: So right, that's right. But yeah, and then later today
- 5:08Speaker 1: we're gonna go see a Beetle Juice. Beetlejuice, so oh nice.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Nice.
- 5:11Speaker 3: My wife's a huge like Halloween oh kind of fan.
- 5:16Speaker 3: She's a big Beetlejuice fan. So anything anything in that
- 5:19Speaker 3: that sort of arena.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Yeah, she's into.
- 5:21Speaker 2: I've been wanting to see that one. I just haven't
- 5:23Speaker 2: had time.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Yeah, So we're gonna go. We're gonna go to the
- 5:26Speaker 1: cheap theater just north of us so.
- 5:30Speaker 6: On.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Yeah. You know, I did see something over the week
- 5:34Speaker 2: and I thought of you, and I thought to ask you. Motorcycles, right, Yeah,
- 5:39Speaker 2: And I've seen this a lot with with bike riders
- 5:42Speaker 2: as I'm you know, driving around when when one is
- 5:48Speaker 2: going one way and the other one is going the
- 5:49Speaker 2: other way, right, so they're coming opposite of each other,
- 5:51Speaker 2: don't put out Yeah, no one will put their arm up.
- 5:55Speaker 2: What is that about that?
- 5:57Speaker 1: That's that's just a wave?
- 5:58Speaker 2: Hello, Okay, that's what I thought.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Yeah, So so I I kind of do it like this.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I give a little piece side. Some some riders
- 6:06Speaker 3: just go like this or just put the arm out.
- 6:08Speaker 3: That's yeah, I've seen there are there are only two
- 6:11Speaker 3: other groups that I've ever seen do this, bus drivers
- 6:17Speaker 3: and jeep wrangler owners.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Really I've seen do this.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Yeah, but yeah, it's just a sign of you know,
- 6:24Speaker 3: just a sign of hey, you're you're another bike rider,
- 6:27Speaker 3: you know, respect that kind of thing.
- 6:29Speaker 2: So I want to know what the Jeep Wrangler ruders think, like, oh,
- 6:32Speaker 2: you also have a terrible car, thanks.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 6:36Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 6:38Speaker 1: I had a chance. When I was in Florida a
- 6:41Speaker 1: couple months ago. We rented a car and we.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Asked for a convertible and they gave us a Jeep
- 6:47Speaker 3: Wrangler with a top that came off, and it was
- 6:50Speaker 3: it was really hot, so we decided not to do it.
- 6:52Speaker 3: But it was a brand new Jeep Wrangler, like Renegade,
- 6:56Speaker 3: one of their top of the line models.
- 6:59Speaker 1: It was a horrible car.
- 7:01Speaker 3: Oh wow, I like, I know they're designed to be
- 7:04Speaker 3: sort of you know, rugged, yeah, sort of utilitarian, but yeah,
- 7:10Speaker 3: it rode like crap that it was. It looked like
- 7:13Speaker 3: it felt like I was driving a golf cart. Yeah,
- 7:16Speaker 3: like a cross between a golf cart and a power.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Wheels oh man.
- 7:19Speaker 3: And like the only way you could tell that you
- 7:21Speaker 3: were driving a brand new Wrangler and not one from
- 7:24Speaker 3: like twenty years ago was the instrument cluster. A lot
- 7:27Speaker 3: of the fancy stuff but yeah, not a fan. So
- 7:30Speaker 3: did we just lose Jeep as a sponsor?
- 7:32Speaker 2: Probably, but we never had them, so it's fine. Oh goodness,
- 7:36Speaker 2: then yeah, it's all it's all good. Yeah, so we
- 7:40Speaker 2: should probably get to the news since we're let's do
- 7:44Speaker 2: it all.
- 7:44Speaker 5: Right, okay, Star Trek News.
- 7:50Speaker 2: I've meant to hit the wrong one. I meant to
- 7:52Speaker 2: hit Entertainment news and they clicked on the wrong one.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Oh well, whatever, it's okay. I mean, I'm not going
- 7:58Speaker 1: to leave the show because of it.
- 8:00Speaker 2: I might.
- 8:03Speaker 3: There's Trek cast fans like up at arms right now.
- 8:07Speaker 2: He played the wrong clip anyways. Uh so, yeah, so
- 8:11Speaker 2: we're gonna do entertainment news, and our first news story
- 8:15Speaker 2: comes to us from a variety. I don't know if
- 8:19Speaker 2: you saw this, but it's making the rounds. There was
- 8:21Speaker 2: a fight on stage during the Jane's Addiction concert earlier. Yeah, yeah,
- 8:28Speaker 2: I had planned to show this because you know, Dan
- 8:31Speaker 2: is into martial arts and I wanted to get his
- 8:34Speaker 2: technique analysis. But you also have military training, so maybe
- 8:38Speaker 2: you can give us yours. As a side note, Jaan's
- 8:41Speaker 2: Addictions has apologized and they're canceling some concerts to you know, ready,
- 8:45Speaker 2: the ship. But uh, here we go. Here, here's the fight.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Right.
- 8:49Speaker 2: So there there's the lead singer and Dave Davarro and
- 8:54Speaker 2: boom there's the punch.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Yeah, that guy is hot for some reason. You know,
- 9:03Speaker 2: let's let's go back again. Got more yelling, like he
- 9:06Speaker 2: kind of pushes them. Dave's like, hey, don't do that, Hey,
- 9:09Speaker 2: back off, dude, what's going on? And bam gets hit.
- 9:14Speaker 1: Yeah, a couple of things, you know, And I saw
- 9:17Speaker 1: some some comments on this online.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Number one, obviously, keep it off stage. Yeah, you know,
- 9:28Speaker 3: you guys are professional, your professionals, and if you're a
- 9:33Speaker 3: professional anything, you need to encompass the entirety of the
- 9:36Speaker 3: definition of that word. Okay, whether you're a professional truck
- 9:39Speaker 3: driver or your professional performer, professional athlete, you need to
- 9:43Speaker 3: keep a professional prostitute, you need to keep it professional.
- 9:47Speaker 3: So you know, there's no excuse for this perry, there's
- 9:51Speaker 3: no excuse for the behavior. And you know, and it's
- 9:54Speaker 3: it's how uncomfortable does that make?
- 9:57Speaker 1: Thousands of people? Yeah, you know, nobody of came to
- 10:00Speaker 1: see that.
- 10:01Speaker 3: I mean, it's but and another another one, another comment
- 10:06Speaker 3: I saw said, look, drink as much as you want
- 10:09Speaker 3: after the show. Get annihilated. Stay dry before the show,
- 10:13Speaker 3: and then that's got that's gotta be a live performance.
- 10:16Speaker 3: Rule number one, right right, don't get messed up before the.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Show, you would think, yeah, you know.
- 10:22Speaker 1: And number two, if you're gonna throw a punch, learn
- 10:24Speaker 1: how to throw a punch.
- 10:25Speaker 5: Yeah you know you're gonna throw a punch at somebody,
- 10:29Speaker 5: don't try to knock the guitar out of their head.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Right as you're as you're at work trying to do
- 10:35Speaker 2: the job. You know.
- 10:36Speaker 3: See, the punch comes from mostly the hips, okay, the
- 10:40Speaker 3: hips and and and the ass right and and you
- 10:44Speaker 3: and when you throw the punch, the punch, the power
- 10:46Speaker 3: is not coming from the arm. It's coming from like
- 10:49Speaker 3: I said, the hips in the in the butt, right,
- 10:52Speaker 3: and and you have to have some follow through. Don't
- 10:54Speaker 3: just hit the target. You want to go through the target,
- 10:58Speaker 3: right right, all right, So if you're you're coming up here,
- 11:01Speaker 3: you're not just hitting the face. You want to aim
- 11:04Speaker 3: just past the face. Okay, I'm just saying, you know,
- 11:08Speaker 3: if he wants some tips.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Jasmine says, it's Jane's addiction. They never said what they were.
- 11:15Speaker 2: The addiction is apparently violence. Yes, the addiction is violence.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Hopefully everybody learns something.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Hope, Yes, we all learned how to throw a bunch
- 11:25Speaker 2: of things to Scott. People will be like, oh, I
- 11:28Speaker 2: learned I learned fighting from my Star Trek podcast.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, follow through, everybody follow through.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Yeah, you gotta get the Kirk fight music. Every time
- 11:35Speaker 2: you're about to get in a fight, you play that.
- 11:42Speaker 2: That's how it works.
- 11:43Speaker 1: That's absolutely Oh, we're gonna get somebody comments.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Our next new story comes just from NPR and the
- 11:53Speaker 2: big thing is The Penguin is set to be another
- 11:58Speaker 2: Batman spinoff show, but the best, one of the best
- 12:00Speaker 2: shows of twenty twenty four. So I don't know if
- 12:03Speaker 2: you've seen, but this thing is getting rave reviews. It
- 12:06Speaker 2: comes out this Thursday, and people are loving it. It'll
- 12:11Speaker 2: be on Max and they're saying that it's a really
- 12:16Speaker 2: good psychological drama, very similar to The Sopranos in a
- 12:20Speaker 2: lot of respects because it's crime and mob bosses and
- 12:23Speaker 2: all that. From what I have read, this will take
- 12:29Speaker 2: place one week after the events of The Batman. Oh
- 12:34Speaker 2: and it will end one week before the events of
- 12:38Speaker 2: the next Batman movie.
- 12:42Speaker 3: God, it is very much the Bridge, right, Okay, Yeah,
- 12:47Speaker 3: I wonder if, like, I guess, it's just gonna be
- 12:51Speaker 3: its own standalone thing and Batman is never gonna show up, and.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, Matt Reeves has said that Batman does not
- 12:59Speaker 2: show up in this thing because people were you know,
- 13:01Speaker 2: that was the rumor, right that maybe he shows up
- 13:04Speaker 2: from one scene and at some episode. Right, But he's like,
- 13:07Speaker 2: don't get your hopes up, kids, He's not showing up.
- 13:10Speaker 1: You know. That's an interesting thing.
- 13:12Speaker 3: You just said, you know, don't get don't get your
- 13:14Speaker 3: hopes up, which means what are the what's the audience
- 13:18Speaker 3: hoping for? What does the audience want? What the studio
- 13:22Speaker 3: completely lost touch with?
- 13:25Speaker 1: They want more Batman? Look, the Joker is a good character.
- 13:29Speaker 3: I think Colin Farrell, Yeah, I think he did a
- 13:34Speaker 3: good job. I think this is yeah, yeah, I think
- 13:38Speaker 3: he as Penguin, and I think this is probably gonna
- 13:41Speaker 3: be a good, you know, crime drama, noir kind of show,
- 13:47Speaker 3: but not not for the type of Batman fan I am,
- 13:51Speaker 3: Oh really no, I mean it's it's the standalone things.
- 13:56Speaker 1: You know.
- 13:57Speaker 3: I'm a Batman fan. I'm not a Penguin fan, you know.
- 14:00Speaker 3: And I think if you asked a lot of not
- 14:04Speaker 3: maybe not hardcore Batman fans, but like Batman fans like
- 14:08Speaker 3: me that I know quite a bit about Batman. But
- 14:11Speaker 3: I'm you know, it's not my favorite thing, but I'm
- 14:13Speaker 3: I dig Batman. And if you ask a lot of
- 14:16Speaker 3: fans like me, sort of the middle of the road fans, yeah,
- 14:19Speaker 3: we want to see more Batman, you know, and if
- 14:25Speaker 3: Penguin's there, that's great.
- 14:26Speaker 1: But yeah, I don't know this, This isn't for me.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm excited for it. Honestly, I like the idea
- 14:33Speaker 2: of a crime show set in Gotham.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Mm hm.
- 14:37Speaker 2: That said, I didn't really watch the Gotham Show when
- 14:40Speaker 2: it was out, and that was literally a crime show
- 14:43Speaker 2: set in Gotham.
- 14:44Speaker 3: But yeah, I did watch, well, I did watch a
- 14:48Speaker 3: Gotham and it had potential. It had a lot of
- 14:52Speaker 3: potential once it. I mean, it had a couple of
- 14:56Speaker 3: jump the Shark moments that all almost took.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Me out of it.
- 15:02Speaker 3: The one that I remember the most, the one that
- 15:03Speaker 3: comes to mind is, uh, you know, it was It
- 15:06Speaker 3: was a It was a gritty It started out as
- 15:08Speaker 3: a kind of a gritty drama. I mean the lead
- 15:11Speaker 3: character Ben I can't remember his last name, that played Gordon.
- 15:15Speaker 3: I thought he made a great Gordon his yeah, yeah,
- 15:21Speaker 3: and and his partner. I really liked their dynamic, and
- 15:28Speaker 3: because his partner was kind of a little bit shady
- 15:31Speaker 3: but still had a good heart, and it was really good.
- 15:35Speaker 3: A lot of moments that were, you know, just dark
- 15:39Speaker 3: and gritty. Anyways, what took me out of the show
- 15:43Speaker 3: almost was there was a scene where it panned to
- 15:47Speaker 3: a store and it literally said something like Gotham's like
- 15:53Speaker 3: Nemesis store, and they had all the goofy bad guy props.
- 15:57Speaker 1: It was like a home depot for for bad guys,
- 16:01Speaker 1: for bad guys.
- 16:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I mean it was like it it
- 16:05Speaker 3: reminded me of like Joel Schumacher's Batman movies Batman Return,
- 16:10Speaker 3: Batman and Robin and Batman Forever. I mean it was
- 16:12Speaker 3: it was like where did it came out of left field?
- 16:14Speaker 3: And it was it was a really bad decision.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Yeah, at the time when it came out, I was
- 16:20Speaker 2: more into a darker Batman, But now I would be
- 16:24Speaker 2: into a goofy one. I'd be okay with that, so
- 16:26Speaker 2: I might like go back and watch it now.
- 16:29Speaker 1: But yeah, it's a it's a good watch.
- 16:30Speaker 3: It's uh you know, it takes place when Bruce Wayne
- 16:35Speaker 3: has pretty much just lost his parents and he's still
- 16:37Speaker 3: a kid. He's kind of growing up. He's trying to
- 16:39Speaker 3: decide what he wants to do. And Alfred is a
- 16:43Speaker 3: big part of the show too. Yeah, fantastic portrayal.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Alle Hundra says he loved the Robert Pattinson Batman movie,
- 16:51Speaker 2: but he also loved the Bird of Praise series, so
- 16:54Speaker 2: there you go.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I think comparatively now Birds of Prey would be
- 17:00Speaker 2: a little bit more well received than what it was
- 17:02Speaker 2: back then.
- 17:04Speaker 3: I watched most of the Birds of Prey series. I
- 17:07Speaker 3: think they did pretty well for the budget they had. Yeah,
- 17:10Speaker 3: they were trying to capitalize. The Birds of Prey was
- 17:12Speaker 3: Batman sort of done by the Smallville people, right right,
- 17:18Speaker 3: So it it and it also had a few budgetary issues,
- 17:22Speaker 3: but it was a good They had some good storylines.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Yeah, it was fine. So okay, and then our last
- 17:30Speaker 2: news story comes to us from Deadline and I put
- 17:35Speaker 2: this in because it was making the rounds all around
- 17:38Speaker 2: the internet. I don't know if you saw this, Scott,
- 17:41Speaker 2: but there were rumors about a Goonies two. But Corey
- 17:45Speaker 2: Feldman and Martha Plimpton, Yeah, have come out and said, sorry,
- 17:51Speaker 2: it is not true. There is no Goonies two in
- 17:55Speaker 2: the works. Steven Spielberg is not attached in any way.
- 17:58Speaker 2: There's not even a script. Sorry, guys. That's not to
- 18:03Speaker 2: say there wouldn't be at some point, but right now,
- 18:06Speaker 2: the current state of things is there's no Goonies Too.
- 18:09Speaker 1: So how do you feel about that? Well, how do
- 18:11Speaker 1: you feel about A more.
- 18:13Speaker 3: Specific question is how do you feel about that if
- 18:15Speaker 3: they made a Goonies Too? And I guess my follow
- 18:18Speaker 3: up question for you is, how do you feel about
- 18:21Speaker 3: them remaking classic sort of call classic films like that?
- 18:25Speaker 2: Yeah, so I was talking to nobody about this, right
- 18:27Speaker 2: because Beetlejuice. Beetle Juice is doing so good in the
- 18:31Speaker 2: theaters right now. Between that and Maverick, they're just gonna
- 18:35Speaker 2: go deeper into this, well, right, more so than what
- 18:38Speaker 2: we've seen before. Goonies. I don't have the affinity for
- 18:44Speaker 2: like some people do because I watched it when I
- 18:46Speaker 2: was older. I didn't watch it as a little kid.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Oh okay, So so I don't have the nostalgia for
- 18:51Speaker 2: it as much. I would be more keen for like
- 18:55Speaker 2: an Et or something like that. But as far as Goonies,
- 19:01Speaker 2: I think it's it's a fine movie. I think it
- 19:05Speaker 2: doesn't really Let yeah, chas business as hard be a
- 19:10Speaker 2: hard sequel, right because when the kids are older now
- 19:13Speaker 2: they're adults, right, so you would have to do like
- 19:15Speaker 2: a Strangers thing where you bring in a whole other
- 19:17Speaker 2: group of kids and then the original ones kind of
- 19:19Speaker 2: like guide them, very similar to what they do with
- 19:22Speaker 2: Ghostbusters now Ghostbusters. Yeah, yeah, new generation. You either do
- 19:27Speaker 2: that or you completely reboot it and just redo the original, right,
- 19:33Speaker 2: that's yeah.
- 19:33Speaker 3: I don't like the reboots. I don't like the ree
- 19:35Speaker 3: boots just because it's confusing because you're not you're not.
- 19:41Speaker 3: It's like in the same universe, but it's different characters.
- 19:44Speaker 3: It's like it's like when they made the the Ghostbusters
- 19:47Speaker 3: movie in twenty fifteen. Yeah yeah, it's confusing. Yeah no, no, no.
- 19:52Speaker 2: The oh yeah the Girl one yeah yeah yeah.
- 19:55Speaker 1: And it was it was a reboot, it wasn't a sequel.
- 20:00Speaker 1: It was weird.
- 20:00Speaker 3: It was you know, let's continue the story, let's not
- 20:04Speaker 3: redo the story.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Right, Jessys, don't touch the Goonies. I will say this, Jessmins.
- 20:08Speaker 2: You know they would make a pretty great popcorn bucket
- 20:12Speaker 2: out of that pirate shop. Heck, yeah, yeah, and that
- 20:16Speaker 2: might be worth it, just saying.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Or or one Eyed Willie Skull.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, all the popcorn buckets.
- 20:24Speaker 6: Yeah yeah.
- 20:26Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 20:27Speaker 3: Man sequels to classics, I'm fine with I I want
- 20:32Speaker 3: to see a continuation of the story. Who doesn't want
- 20:34Speaker 3: to see what happens to, you know, all the goonies
- 20:37Speaker 3: after the fact that they did, they grow up and
- 20:39Speaker 3: have kids, you know. And I heard the the the rumor,
- 20:42Speaker 3: the premise I heard was that Sean Aston's character.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Had the uh.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Had a backup like bag of of of treasure okay,
- 20:56Speaker 3: that he hids hid somewhere somewhere between the time that
- 20:58Speaker 3: they found uh one Eyed Willy's pirate ship and then
- 21:02Speaker 3: they got caught by the Fortellies, that he hid a
- 21:06Speaker 3: bag of treasure.
- 21:07Speaker 2: Okay, deary saying that, uh, this got started because they
- 21:11Speaker 2: had been working on a sequel, but it never came
- 21:13Speaker 2: to completion. Yeah, they're they're always cut here. I'll put
- 21:16Speaker 2: it back up for you, Okay, they're always constantly working
- 21:19Speaker 2: on kicking ideas around in pre production. But it doesn't
- 21:23Speaker 2: mean like they don't get to the point where they
- 21:25Speaker 2: have a full script. It's just ticking around ideas. So I, okay,
- 21:32Speaker 2: what what series would you like to see a continuation
- 21:35Speaker 2: of or return to?
- 21:38Speaker 3: You know, you mentioned ET. You know, I don't have this.
- 21:42Speaker 3: I'll leave leave it alone.
- 21:43Speaker 1: It's it's it's it can't be touched.
- 21:46Speaker 3: Go ahead and continue the story if it's if it's bad,
- 21:48Speaker 3: we'll ignore it, we'll forget it, We'll go back to
- 21:50Speaker 3: the original. But also these sequels breathe new life into
- 21:56Speaker 3: these franchises.
- 21:58Speaker 1: You know, Top Gun.
- 22:01Speaker 3: You know I watched Top Gun in the original, the
- 22:03Speaker 3: original movie last year for the first time in decades.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Yeah, because the.
- 22:09Speaker 3: New one was coming out. So sometimes this can breed
- 22:11Speaker 3: new life into some of these franchises. I haven't watched
- 22:13Speaker 3: ET in thirty years. I don't think my kids have
- 22:16Speaker 3: ever watched ET. Because you have to keep in mind
- 22:19Speaker 3: too that some of these eighties movies, especially ET, they're
- 22:22Speaker 3: very slow to start. That's true, you know, even things
- 22:26Speaker 3: like Star Wars. I was I was hesitant to have
- 22:29Speaker 3: my kids watch Star Wars for the first time ten
- 22:31Speaker 3: years ago because the first twenty minutes of Star Wars
- 22:34Speaker 3: is very it's very slow. Yeah, so, but yeah, breed
- 22:39Speaker 3: new lives in some of these franchise. Look at what
- 22:41Speaker 3: happened to Ghostbusters, right, I love.
- 22:45Speaker 1: The New Ghostbusters movies.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Yeah that's true. Yeah, see, I've got you can do
- 22:52Speaker 2: a really awesome what is it the Flight of the Navigator,
- 22:56Speaker 2: that Disney classic?
- 22:58Speaker 7: Oh yeah, yeah, that would be I think that's what
- 23:02Speaker 7: people vaguely remember, but there's not a strong nostalgia for it,
- 23:07Speaker 7: so you have the ability to mess with it a
- 23:09Speaker 7: little bit.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Right, yep. Bring back Sarah Jessica Parker.
- 23:13Speaker 2: Yeah, there you go.
- 23:14Speaker 1: That was like her first role.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Yeah. Uh oh, chasmiss is the last star Fighter. Alean
- 23:21Speaker 2: Hunds mentioning that Adam Sandler is currently redoing Happy Gilmore. Yeah,
- 23:26Speaker 2: they're gonna do a sequel to Happy Gilmore. Yeah sure Netflix.
- 23:29Speaker 2: Yeah and he Alejand also said he watched ET several
- 23:34Speaker 2: times this year, and he loves watching old school films. Oh,
- 23:39Speaker 2: des Finer, The Navigator still holds.
- 23:41Speaker 1: Up, it does.
- 23:42Speaker 3: Yeah, we we watched it recently, a couple three years ago. Yeah,
- 23:46Speaker 3: and we enjoyed it. Kids enjoyed it.
- 23:48Speaker 1: It was ye, brought back a lot of a lot
- 23:50Speaker 1: of memories.
- 23:51Speaker 2: Oh good, good, you know, you could redo Henry and
- 23:53Speaker 2: Henderson's oh Harry, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that'd be great.
- 24:02Speaker 1: And again, not a reboot, but a continuation of the story. Yeah,
- 24:05Speaker 1: you know, maybe it's maybe it's Harry.
- 24:08Speaker 3: It could be Harry, or it could be Harry's offspring
- 24:11Speaker 3: or you know, a new family or the cousins of
- 24:13Speaker 3: the original family. You know, just don't reboot it.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Okay.
- 24:17Speaker 2: So here's a wild idea that I just had you
- 24:20Speaker 2: hook a sequel to a Hook. But here's the thing,
- 24:26Speaker 2: So you do it because you know, Peter Pan had
- 24:29Speaker 2: gun in and out of being on Neverland, right, That's
- 24:31Speaker 2: how they ended it. Yep, So you do say, yeah,
- 24:34Speaker 2: he died, Peter's gone, right, and so now it's Captain
- 24:39Speaker 2: Hook searching for a new Peter because he can't be
- 24:44Speaker 2: Captain Hook without a Peter.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Wow.
- 24:47Speaker 5: I like it. I like it. It's still around.
- 24:52Speaker 2: So yeah, what does it mean to be Peter Pan?
- 24:54Speaker 2: What does it mean to be an eternal child? Like
- 24:56Speaker 2: all of that?
- 24:57Speaker 1: Right? Like that?
- 24:57Speaker 2: You do that?
- 24:59Speaker 3: So, yeah, they have this whole theme throughout the movie
- 25:01Speaker 3: where Peter Pan isn't just a person, it's an ideal.
- 25:04Speaker 1: Right, Oh I love it. Yeah, that's a really good idea.
- 25:09Speaker 2: And to be free and like he's teaching the kid like, look,
- 25:12Speaker 2: I'm the adult. I need to be grumpy and angry
- 25:13Speaker 2: all the time, but you you need to be free
- 25:15Speaker 2: and happy. And then I don't like that, and that
- 25:18Speaker 2: kind of you know yeah, yeah.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Oh that's fantastic. Yeah.
- 25:22Speaker 3: And then and then through that, you know, finding the Peter,
- 25:24Speaker 3: finding the person that embodies all those qualities that also
- 25:28Speaker 3: helps them gain the powers, gain the powers to you know,
- 25:30Speaker 3: the flying and the Yeah, that's yeah.
- 25:34Speaker 2: And you can even call back to that scene where
- 25:36Speaker 2: he is the pan and all you know, ye all
- 25:38Speaker 2: that it all works with it.
- 25:40Speaker 1: So yeah, oh.
- 25:44Speaker 2: All right, well that is our news segment. We should
- 25:50Speaker 2: probably get to our spotlight. Yes, all right, being that
- 26:01Speaker 2: we're doing a supplemental we're doing a supplemental spotlight and
- 26:04Speaker 2: we have sad news just came out. It was like
- 26:08Speaker 2: so much has happened throughout the week. But I know, yeah, yeah,
- 26:12Speaker 2: James Earl Jones has passed away. He you know, was
- 26:17Speaker 2: a great actor for a lot of us. He you know,
- 26:21Speaker 2: he was Darth Vader, he was Mufasa, he was you know, yeah, yeah, roots,
- 26:32Speaker 2: the Great White Hope, like all these Shakespeare in the Park,
- 26:36Speaker 2: King Lear, like doctor Strange, love all these things, right,
- 26:41Speaker 2: like yeah, forget about the.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Sandlot, that's right, that's right. Yeah, he played the blind neighbor.
- 26:49Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, with the beast.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Yep, yep, yeah, I just watched a clip of that.
- 26:54Speaker 1: That was great.
- 26:55Speaker 2: Yeah, but he he has passed away, you know, and
- 27:01Speaker 2: and he was I mean, it wasn't a huge surprise
- 27:05Speaker 2: he was getting older.
- 27:07Speaker 1: But yeah, ninety three is a good run.
- 27:09Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, for sure, for sure. And oh we did
- 27:15Speaker 2: have a comment that Dawn Green left. She says his
- 27:19Speaker 2: portrayal of the Soula doom is often overlooked as far
- 27:23Speaker 2: as on screen batties can't listen live as I live
- 27:26Speaker 2: in as it's late in Australia, looking forward to the
- 27:29Speaker 2: episode in the morning. So yeah, the soula Bluem doom
- 27:33Speaker 2: in going down the Barbarian. Yeah, he was creating that
- 27:36Speaker 2: as well.
- 27:37Speaker 1: I don't think I've ever seen that movie.
- 27:39Speaker 2: What Yeah, no, yeah, it's good.
- 27:43Speaker 1: No, is that a shot? Is that like shocked that
- 27:47Speaker 1: I haven't seen?
- 27:48Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, yeah, yeah, you should watch it. It's great.
- 27:53Speaker 1: That reminds me of this funny moment we had yesterday.
- 27:55Speaker 1: But we all went to the fair.
- 27:57Speaker 3: It was it was me and my youngest son and
- 28:00Speaker 3: his friend and my wife, and then my oldest son
- 28:03Speaker 3: showed up with his friend and my son's girlfriend, and
- 28:08Speaker 3: I happened to I was standing next to my son's
- 28:10Speaker 3: girlfriend and I turned around just as she had taken
- 28:13Speaker 3: the ponytail held her out of her hair, and her
- 28:14Speaker 3: hair had like poofed out like this, kind of like
- 28:17Speaker 3: from the wind or whatever. And I kind of went, ah.
- 28:19Speaker 3: She goes, what, I'm like, Oh, you took your hair out.
- 28:21Speaker 3: I said, you kind of remind me of like a
- 28:24Speaker 3: cobra or one of the Zelatasaurus from Jurassic Park. And
- 28:30Speaker 3: she looked at me, she goes, oh, I've never seen
- 28:32Speaker 3: Jurassic Park. What so I I I was beside myself.
- 28:40Speaker 3: I walked over to my son and I'm like, your
- 28:42Speaker 3: girlfriend's never seen Jurassic Park. So now obviously we have
- 28:45Speaker 3: to have a Jurassic Park marathon. So we're gonna we're
- 28:48Speaker 3: gonna introduce her to.
- 28:50Speaker 1: The Jurassic Park movies. How do you know I have
- 28:54Speaker 1: never seen Jurassic Park.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Yeah, no kidding, no kidding.
- 29:00Speaker 1: I had to google these days.
- 29:03Speaker 2: I remember that that James Earl Jones was the king
- 29:05Speaker 2: of Zumunda.
- 29:08Speaker 1: And Barded. Yeah, coming to America.
- 29:11Speaker 8: Yeah, Jas, did you leave her at the fair?
- 29:21Speaker 1: Yeah, that's great.
- 29:23Speaker 2: James is looking down on us now, yeah, that's true.
- 29:27Speaker 1: No, if we left her at the fair, she couldn't
- 29:28Speaker 1: learn from her mistakes.
- 29:30Speaker 2: That's true.
- 29:30Speaker 1: We we have to we have to educate her. Yeah.
- 29:34Speaker 2: So, oh I didn't know this. He served as an
- 29:38Speaker 2: army officer in the Korean War.
- 29:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 29:41Speaker 3: Yeah, just so I did a little bit of a
- 29:43Speaker 3: deep dive on him. Yeah, he was a second lieutenant
- 29:47Speaker 3: just before he got out. Uh, he got promoted to
- 29:49Speaker 3: first lieutenant. He missed Korea by a little bit and
- 29:54Speaker 3: just sort of served out his service in the States.
- 29:56Speaker 3: But yeah, army veteran. Wow, so get on him.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:02Speaker 2: Somebody put in our Instagram account that they they loved
- 30:06Speaker 2: his betrayal as Darth Vader and also his guest starring
- 30:10Speaker 2: in The Big Bang Theory.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Yeah that was.
- 30:15Speaker 3: We just watched that clip too, So that was. That's
- 30:19Speaker 3: a lot of fun in the In the his guest
- 30:22Speaker 3: star role in The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon walks up
- 30:27Speaker 3: to him in a in a restaurant and it's just
- 30:30Speaker 3: he's speechless. Sheldon's like, oh, that's James Earl Jones. And
- 30:33Speaker 3: James Earl Jones looks up to looks up at him,
- 30:35Speaker 3: and he's like, let me guess you like Star Wars
- 30:39Speaker 3: and Sheldon's just like yeah, you know. He doesn't say anything,
- 30:42Speaker 3: he's speechless, and James Earl Jones says, you know, I've
- 30:45Speaker 3: been in other movies, but you don't care about those,
- 30:48Speaker 3: do you. And then he goes on to say he
- 30:52Speaker 3: kind of tells him come here, get closer, and he goes,
- 30:55Speaker 3: I only have one thing to say to people like you.
- 30:57Speaker 3: I like Star Wars too, And then they go on
- 31:01Speaker 3: to uh Carrie Fisher's house to a franker. Yeah, and
- 31:08Speaker 3: that brings me to another little tidbit. So Sheldon and
- 31:13Speaker 3: James Earl Jones go to Carrie Fisher's house. They knock
- 31:17Speaker 3: on the door and then run away, and then Carrie
- 31:20Speaker 3: Fisher like opens the door, walks out and says.
- 31:22Speaker 1: It's not funny, James. And the funny thing about that
- 31:26Speaker 1: is Carrie Fish.
- 31:29Speaker 3: It was either Carrie Fisher or James Earl Jones did
- 31:31Speaker 3: an interview and said that they had never met before.
- 31:35Speaker 3: Oh wow, James Earl Jones and Carrie Fisher never met
- 31:38Speaker 3: before because Carrie Fisher, you know, did her acting and
- 31:42Speaker 3: James Earl Jones did his yes separately, they had never
- 31:47Speaker 3: met before, and so he goes on to say, uh,
- 31:51Speaker 3: you know, when they met on set a Big Bang Theory,
- 31:54Speaker 3: Carrie Fisher started walking over to him with her arms
- 31:59Speaker 3: wide open and said.
- 32:00Speaker 2: Dad, it's awesome.
- 32:04Speaker 1: I thought that was a neat story.
- 32:06Speaker 2: You think they meet at like a premiere. I mean
- 32:08Speaker 2: they both were in the movie and they get invited
- 32:10Speaker 2: to the premiers.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Nope, okay, according to James Earl Jones, I was the
- 32:12Speaker 1: first time on that.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Wow, that's crazy.
- 32:15Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 32:18Speaker 3: Something tells me that, like, Carrie Fisher probably did more
- 32:22Speaker 3: Star Wars type premieers than James Earl Jones did.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Maybe it could be.
- 32:28Speaker 1: I don't know he was. He was probably too busy
- 32:30Speaker 1: doing like Broadway shows.
- 32:31Speaker 2: That's true. He was in a lot of Broadway shows
- 32:34Speaker 2: a lot. I do remember. One of my favorite performances
- 32:40Speaker 2: of his is in Coming to America where they're talking
- 32:45Speaker 2: to him as the King and they're telling him how
- 32:48Speaker 2: his son Eddie Murphy is, you know, living his life
- 32:51Speaker 2: in America, and he gets so mad and then they
- 32:54Speaker 2: tell him. Oh yeah, and he even has a job.
- 32:57Speaker 2: And the way he delivers the line of my son works.
- 33:05Speaker 3: Oh yeah, such a great voice, obviously commanding presence.
- 33:12Speaker 2: Yeah. Absolutely. I don't know if he's going to be
- 33:15Speaker 2: in the New Lion King because that's all recorded that
- 33:19Speaker 2: Mufasa movie that they're making.
- 33:21Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Now.
- 33:24Speaker 3: I do know that before he passed, like last year
- 33:28Speaker 3: or the year before, he did sign the rights to
- 33:31Speaker 3: his voice to Lucasfilms.
- 33:33Speaker 2: Right, I was gonna mention that, yeah, ok, yeah he is.
- 33:37Speaker 2: He has definitely given those rights over and his his
- 33:42Speaker 2: family will be paid for that.
- 33:44Speaker 1: And yeah, so tell us what that means.
- 33:49Speaker 2: So that means he went in they they I think
- 33:53Speaker 2: that it's very similar to what they did to Nigel Barrett,
- 33:56Speaker 2: where they had to read like phonetic words so then
- 34:00Speaker 2: they can then take them apart and edit them however
- 34:02Speaker 2: they want to basically make her se whatever she wants.
- 34:06Speaker 2: They did something similar with him, as my understanding, but
- 34:08Speaker 2: then they're also going to use AI to get tones
- 34:11Speaker 2: and all that, and so basically it'll be him acting
- 34:15Speaker 2: as Darth Vader in perpetuity.
- 34:18Speaker 1: Right right, right, which is awesome.
- 34:21Speaker 2: Yeah, that's great. I mean, which his family will always
- 34:24Speaker 2: get money for that, So that's cool, and and it's
- 34:27Speaker 2: you know, it's different than when we see characters come
- 34:31Speaker 2: back that have long passed and we don't know how
- 34:34Speaker 2: the actor themselves would feel about it, right right, it's
- 34:38Speaker 2: just the family says, oh yeah, they'd be down right,
- 34:42Speaker 2: And so there's always in the back of your head, well,
- 34:44Speaker 2: are they really or are you just cashing in?
- 34:46Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 34:47Speaker 2: Yeah, whereas this one you knew he was. He did
- 34:50Speaker 2: it ears earlier.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Yeah, he's cool with it. Yeah, yeah, I like it.
- 34:56Speaker 1: I like it.
- 34:56Speaker 2: I like it too. I mean, Bruce Willis has done
- 34:58Speaker 2: something similar. He gave his rights to to some like
- 35:02Speaker 2: Russian insurance company. I think it was like he was
- 35:07Speaker 2: never in the commercial, but but they used his image
- 35:10Speaker 2: and just c g eyed his face over some character.
- 35:15Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, So what you're saying is that Die Hard
- 35:19Speaker 3: nine is a possibility.
- 35:22Speaker 2: Oh potentially, Yeah, Okay, I'm down Die the Hardest.
- 35:27Speaker 1: Yeah, there you go.
- 35:30Speaker 2: But at some point the film series is just living
- 35:32Speaker 2: because he's not dying. Yeah yeah.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Uh.
- 35:39Speaker 2: Some people have not seen Independence Day. Shame, shame, shame.
- 35:44Speaker 2: Who are these people?
- 35:45Speaker 1: Who are these people? Raise your hand? If you have
- 35:47Speaker 1: not seen Independence.
- 35:48Speaker 2: Day, I haven't seen the sequel, and.
- 35:51Speaker 1: It's it's it's horrible yet amazing sequel. Really it's fat
- 35:56Speaker 1: you got Yeah, but you gotta watch it. Okay, it's
- 35:59Speaker 1: a trade rack, but it's it's it's amazing, you know
- 36:03Speaker 1: how I might it's worth a watch. Yeah.
- 36:09Speaker 2: I finally got her watching Ready or Not, the movie
- 36:13Speaker 2: where this girl gets married into a family and then uh,
- 36:18Speaker 2: apparently they all play a game every time a new
- 36:20Speaker 2: family member comes into the into the family, and so
- 36:24Speaker 2: she picks the wrong game hide and Seek, and so
- 36:27Speaker 2: they try to kill her because this family.
- 36:30Speaker 1: Is nuts as as one does.
- 36:33Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that was my problem with the movie on like,
- 36:36Speaker 2: this premise is so far fetched.
- 36:38Speaker 1: Right because you play that game once and then yeah,
- 36:41Speaker 1: you're not gonna play it again.
- 36:43Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean they gave justification for it, but still
- 36:45Speaker 2: I was just like, I don't Yeah, Jasmin is it's bad? Yeah?
- 36:51Speaker 1: Is it? Wait? Wait which that movie? Or Independence Day too?
- 36:56Speaker 2: Yeah? I don't know because there's a slight delay. I
- 36:58Speaker 2: don't know what he's talking about. So but yeah, James
- 37:04Speaker 2: Earl Jents will for sure be missed.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 37:07Speaker 2: Yeah, anything else you want to bring up on him
- 37:10Speaker 2: about him.
- 37:11Speaker 3: Uh no, yeah, I think we we covered everything. Okay,
- 37:16Speaker 3: you know our our podcast purview related you know, just
- 37:20Speaker 3: Star Wars. You know, I can't wait to go back
- 37:24Speaker 3: and watch some and yeah yeah.
- 37:30Speaker 1: Great actor, great voice actor. He will be missed.
- 37:32Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, Well let's get to feedback because Chas
- 37:36Speaker 2: Biz is already wanting to except so here we go,
- 37:39Speaker 2: oh kady listener feedback. All right, so as soon as
- 37:47Speaker 2: he pops in, will bring in Chasbiz. But as far
- 37:50Speaker 2: as other listener feedback, we did have, you know, a
- 37:53Speaker 2: few social media hits about James Earl Jones. A lot
- 37:57Speaker 2: of people were just you know, sad that he was
- 37:59Speaker 2: gone and he was a big part of their childhood.
- 38:01Speaker 2: So those sorts of things which he was for our
- 38:04Speaker 2: age group absolutely. So yeah, oh look there's Jaz Bis
- 38:09Speaker 2: so let's let's bring him on there he is.
- 38:11Speaker 3: I also don't have any email, so please email me everybody, Yeah,
- 38:14Speaker 3: have an email answer questions. You can email us at
- 38:18Speaker 3: treck cast TG at gmail dot com.
- 38:21Speaker 6: Or if you want to email me.
- 38:22Speaker 3: Specifically, uh, you can email me at uh Strongbeard one
- 38:27Speaker 3: seven o one at gmail dot com.
- 38:30Speaker 1: Please do I get lonely.
- 38:32Speaker 2: And then the phone number I get lonely.
- 38:35Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, the phone number.
- 38:37Speaker 2: Yeah, it's uh Kevin zero six six one zero zero
- 38:43Speaker 2: zero one.
- 38:44Speaker 1: Okay, you got the phone number right this time.
- 38:46Speaker 2: That's right.
- 38:47Speaker 6: I was.
- 38:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I was listening for just more.
- 38:51Speaker 2: Day zero zero zero one.
- 38:53Speaker 3: There you go, all right, please call, we want to
- 38:56Speaker 3: we want to play those it's going.
- 38:57Speaker 2: On jazz biz much.
- 38:59Speaker 6: How are you guys?
- 39:01Speaker 2: What did James Earl Jones mean for you?
- 39:03Speaker 6: Well, I mean, of course start fighter.
- 39:05Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, that voice.
- 39:07Speaker 6: He had that booming voice. That was and then if
- 39:10Speaker 6: he was in any movie and you weren't paying attention,
- 39:13Speaker 6: you just heard that voice.
- 39:15Speaker 2: Yeah, you knew was he was there. Yeah.
- 39:17Speaker 6: I was watching Doctor Strange Love once and then he's
- 39:20Speaker 6: one of the pilots on there. Oh wow, and uh
- 39:24Speaker 6: it's it's hilarious because that maybe what came out in
- 39:27Speaker 6: sixty four or something like that. So he's like really young. Yeah,
- 39:31Speaker 6: but you definitely tell it's him because he has the
- 39:32Speaker 6: same voice.
- 39:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:35Speaker 3: When they were doing Star Wars, they you know, they
- 39:37Speaker 3: had David Prowse, who was the person inside the costume.
- 39:41Speaker 1: Yeah, uh, they actually had him doing the lines.
- 39:44Speaker 2: Yeah, during the movie yeah, but.
- 39:46Speaker 1: He's got this really kind of high pitched Welsh accent.
- 39:50Speaker 3: He's like, he's like, take the presidents, I want them alive,
- 39:54Speaker 3: and it just sounded really goofy. Yeah, so they're like, yeah,
- 39:58Speaker 3: James Earl Jones himself said they want a you know,
- 40:01Speaker 3: no pun intended a darker voice, right, and you know,
- 40:06Speaker 3: thank god they found him.
- 40:07Speaker 6: Well, Lucas did prow Sturdy because he didn't tell him
- 40:11Speaker 6: that they were using another actor.
- 40:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:14Speaker 6: Yeah, so I understand him being mad because he thought
- 40:18Speaker 6: he got you know, his voice was going to be
- 40:21Speaker 6: on there. No, I get it, and he didn't know
- 40:23Speaker 6: until the movie started. So m hmm when they did
- 40:27Speaker 6: the screening or whatever.
- 40:29Speaker 2: So he was I, it's what you heard that voice?
- 40:35Speaker 2: You knew your daddy was there. Wow.
- 40:39Speaker 1: James Earl Jones was easily easily fifty that character.
- 40:44Speaker 9: Oh yeah, oh yeah, if not more, you know, if
- 40:48Speaker 9: he could have gotten not not to step on it,
- 40:50Speaker 9: I think, yeah, you know, not to step on David
- 40:53Speaker 9: Prows or the guy that played the face.
- 40:58Speaker 6: Oh that dude.
- 41:00Speaker 1: The Return of the Jet.
- 41:01Speaker 6: Completely scrubbed out of like the ghost scene of Return
- 41:05Speaker 6: of the Jedi, Right, Hyden Christensen, I was like Lucas
- 41:09Speaker 6: just kept on editing. I was so mad when he
- 41:12Speaker 6: took out Yubnub. I was like, yeah, that song at
- 41:17Speaker 6: the end. As a child, me too, And then they
- 41:20Speaker 6: took that out and.
- 41:22Speaker 3: Yeah, apparently my my wife's when she was in high
- 41:27Speaker 3: school or junior high her choir singing that song.
- 41:34Speaker 1: She knows the words.
- 41:35Speaker 3: Like one time we were just watching I think we
- 41:37Speaker 3: were just watching Star Wars or we heard it in
- 41:39Speaker 3: the background. She's like, she started rattling off the words.
- 41:42Speaker 3: I'm like, I need to hear these words.
- 41:44Speaker 1: Hell do you know that?
- 41:46Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 41:49Speaker 6: You know, I can hear it in my head. But
- 41:52Speaker 6: they never played again. I don't know. It's like, it's
- 41:55Speaker 6: no fair.
- 41:56Speaker 3: That's why it's so important to get to keep those
- 41:58Speaker 3: either VHS copies or those early DVD copies of Star Wars.
- 42:02Speaker 6: So you see, I gave those to my sister because
- 42:04Speaker 6: I had the new and improved ones.
- 42:07Speaker 1: Yeah, of course, I'm telling you, you know, the old media. Yeah.
- 42:12Speaker 3: I just went to a friend's garage sale the other
- 42:14Speaker 3: day and I got like eight I got like eight
- 42:16Speaker 3: movies for fifty cents apiece. Just some of the movies
- 42:19Speaker 3: I've I even have, but I didn't have like the
- 42:21Speaker 3: special editions.
- 42:23Speaker 2: Desiree said she's not going to sing it for us.
- 42:25Speaker 6: Oh yeah, how much Desiree?
- 42:35Speaker 1: Oh boy?
- 42:37Speaker 3: But yeah, I love special editions of like DVDs. I got,
- 42:41Speaker 3: you know, just a few different movies. And you know,
- 42:44Speaker 3: because we've talked about it before, you know, the digital
- 42:47Speaker 3: media online, you don't know when they're going to be
- 42:50Speaker 3: unlicensed or disappeared.
- 42:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:53Speaker 2: So I've got a question for chas Biz what what
- 42:57Speaker 2: show or movie do you want to see remain? And
- 42:58Speaker 2: why isn't Airwolf.
- 43:02Speaker 6: Man I have as a little kid. Yeah, it's been years.
- 43:07Speaker 6: I can't even tell you what's about. It's just a
- 43:08Speaker 6: helicopter around and.
- 43:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I just remember a helicopter, that's all.
- 43:12Speaker 6: Yeah. I just read helicopter and do like backflips and
- 43:15Speaker 6: stuff I read.
- 43:16Speaker 2: If you go watch it now, it's the same, like
- 43:18Speaker 2: four shots. They rented a helicopter one day, that's all
- 43:21Speaker 2: it was.
- 43:21Speaker 6: And stuff blowing up, the same thing blowing up.
- 43:24Speaker 1: Yeah. I want them to do a remake woke version
- 43:28Speaker 1: of The Dukes of Hazard.
- 43:30Speaker 2: Wo Yeah, I'd like that. That'd be great woke.
- 43:39Speaker 1: It would be called the General Grant. Yeah.
- 43:43Speaker 8: Yeah, it's a hybrid, right, it's a.
- 43:47Speaker 6: It's no, it can't be Tesla because it would be
- 43:53Speaker 6: a hybrid. Yeah, it has to be a hybrid because.
- 43:58Speaker 2: Pol oil.
- 44:12Speaker 6: H it goes like five miles an hour. Hold on,
- 44:17Speaker 6: I got to recharge my car.
- 44:19Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, charge back up.
- 44:24Speaker 6: It's gonna be Roscoe Peete Coltrane and you know right.
- 44:29Speaker 3: Right, uh yeah, let's have on the tredcast Facebook group.
- 44:36Speaker 3: What uh what movies or franchise would you like to
- 44:39Speaker 3: see done as a not as a remake, but as
- 44:43Speaker 3: a continuation, as a as a sequel.
- 44:46Speaker 6: Did you see the thing?
- 44:50Speaker 1: Did?
- 44:51Speaker 6: I don't know if it was a prequel, but they
- 44:52Speaker 6: didn't do a sequel, Okay, a prequel because it was
- 44:55Speaker 6: it was the Swedish team that discovered it. Okay, and
- 44:58Speaker 6: the sequel, you know, you don't know if they're infected
- 45:03Speaker 6: or not at the end.
- 45:05Speaker 3: So I don't want to see soft reboots, none of that.
- 45:08Speaker 3: I want to see, even if it's forty years later.
- 45:11Speaker 3: I want to see ideas for direct sequels.
- 45:15Speaker 2: What about that just can't be done like friends? Yeah, well, dude,
- 45:21Speaker 2: here's the thing.
- 45:22Speaker 3: You can do anything you want to. You can do Friends,
- 45:25Speaker 3: you can do it can be funny, you can and
- 45:27Speaker 3: they can.
- 45:28Speaker 1: Deal with issues.
- 45:29Speaker 3: You know, why is Chandler not here? Well, you know
- 45:32Speaker 3: he died of an od and or he died of
- 45:34Speaker 3: a car accident. You could make it, turn it into
- 45:36Speaker 3: a social issue, you know, where you have honestly pedestrian
- 45:39Speaker 3: awareness or whatever.
- 45:41Speaker 2: I would not be surprised if within five years we
- 45:43Speaker 2: get a Friends movie with a new cast and just
- 45:47Speaker 2: turn it into a film series.
- 45:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:51Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean anything is possible right now.
- 45:53Speaker 2: So yeah, there.
- 45:56Speaker 6: Doesn't mean not gonna like it. It's kind of like
- 45:57Speaker 6: the Willow TV show. They Oh yeah, it took Willow
- 46:01Speaker 6: and it was so bad that Disney scrubbed it.
- 46:04Speaker 2: Yeah, you can't even watch it anymore.
- 46:06Speaker 6: Yeah, I can't watch it. Can't say it was that bad.
- 46:09Speaker 4: Do.
- 46:09Speaker 2: I watch like maybe two episodes of that and I
- 46:11Speaker 2: was just like, I can't get into it.
- 46:12Speaker 1: It was well, they scrubbed it and took it off
- 46:14Speaker 1: the network. Yeah, oh wow, wow.
- 46:18Speaker 6: It is gone.
- 46:19Speaker 2: I think Disney did that on Disney Plus.
- 46:23Speaker 3: I the reason why I'm adamant about sequels and not
- 46:25Speaker 3: reboots is because I like to see It's why I
- 46:29Speaker 3: was so excited about Independence State two, because the movie
- 46:33Speaker 3: the first one ended, and I thought, I would love
- 46:36Speaker 3: to see an aftermath after all this destruction and the
- 46:41Speaker 3: leaven behind of the technology. I would love to see
- 46:43Speaker 3: what happened after all this happened. It's also why I
- 46:46Speaker 3: don't get excited for prequels, because I know when you
- 46:51Speaker 3: watch a prequel, you know what's gonna happen. It's not like,
- 46:56Speaker 3: at the end of episode three, you're like, wait and
- 46:59Speaker 3: it Cain turns into Darth Vader, right spoiler alert, and you're.
- 47:03Speaker 6: Not surprised he's gonna die either, right, yeah, and you're not, well,
- 47:09Speaker 6: clearly you're gonna die because you're not on there.
- 47:13Speaker 3: And and during the fight sequence between obi Wan and Anakin,
- 47:16Speaker 3: you're like, oh no, I hope obi Wan doesn't die.
- 47:19Speaker 1: You know.
- 47:19Speaker 3: That's why I don't get excited for prequels. I like
- 47:21Speaker 3: to see aftermath. I'm an aftermath kind of guy.
- 47:25Speaker 2: Okay, now that.
- 47:25Speaker 6: That fight scene was badass when he said he had
- 47:28Speaker 6: the higher ground and like womped off everything at once.
- 47:32Speaker 1: And I just noticed something. I saw a video yesterday where.
- 47:36Speaker 3: In uh Empire strikes back, when Luke and Vader are
- 47:42Speaker 3: fighting in Cloud City, Luke takes the high ground he's
- 47:49Speaker 3: he's on the top of the stairs. Vader is at
- 47:51Speaker 3: the bottom of the stairs. He looks up at Luke
- 47:53Speaker 3: and says, Obi one has taught you. Well, yeah, because
- 47:56Speaker 3: he had the high ground. I thought that was cool.
- 47:59Speaker 2: I yesterday legitimately, my nephews used the I have the
- 48:03Speaker 2: high ground because they were they were throwing like, uh
- 48:08Speaker 2: little nerve balls at each other. And at my dad's
- 48:12Speaker 2: house there's an there's an upper deck and then there's
- 48:15Speaker 2: you know down is the is the backyard. And someone
- 48:18Speaker 2: was up on the deck and the other one was
- 48:19Speaker 2: down below and they were flinging the balls at each other.
- 48:23Speaker 1: I love it.
- 48:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I have the high ground.
- 48:26Speaker 1: Yeah that's good.
- 48:28Speaker 2: Oh, Ale says, uh. Like the Batgirl movie that was
- 48:31Speaker 2: made and never shown in theaters or streaming, Yeah, they
- 48:34Speaker 2: just they cut it just yellow.
- 48:36Speaker 6: And some of the shows like because you can't really
- 48:39Speaker 6: record them, like unless somebody like rips it off the
- 48:42Speaker 6: internet or something.
- 48:44Speaker 1: Here's the thing.
- 48:45Speaker 3: I want to see that show or movie to people
- 48:48Speaker 3: because somebody, somebody, somebody's got to leak that.
- 48:52Speaker 1: Yeah, somebody, did.
- 48:54Speaker 6: You guys see Beetle Juice. Beetle Juice.
- 48:56Speaker 1: No, I'm going to go see it today.
- 48:58Speaker 6: Okay, it's good, Probably see it today. I really liked it.
- 49:01Speaker 6: I really liked it. It was a good maybe first sequel.
- 49:05Speaker 6: It's one of those kind of starts off slow and
- 49:07Speaker 6: then you know, once they get into it, it's it's
- 49:09Speaker 6: pretty good.
- 49:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll probably check it out today. I got time,
- 49:14Speaker 2: so I.
- 49:15Speaker 6: Don't want to spoil it.
- 49:16Speaker 3: I'm a big on a Rider fan, and Jenna Otag
- 49:19Speaker 3: is the next big thing.
- 49:20Speaker 2: So yeah, yeah, I like Batman, so yeah, Michael Keaton
- 49:27Speaker 2: was his real.
- 49:27Speaker 6: Name now, yeah, Michael Douglas.
- 49:30Speaker 2: Michael Douglas.
- 49:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I read the headline, but I didn't read the article.
- 49:36Speaker 3: He's he's gonna change his well, his.
- 49:38Speaker 6: Real name is Michael Douglas because of Michael Douglas so Changeston.
- 49:44Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, I want to know how he picked Keaton.
- 49:49Speaker 6: Maybe he just fan of Diane Keaton. I don't know.
- 49:51Speaker 6: That's the only thing. I always thought they were like
- 49:53Speaker 6: brother and sister or something. I mean, they're not even related.
- 49:58Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, probably isn't.
- 50:00Speaker 6: Because if you look at Kirk Douglas's name, it's like
- 50:03Speaker 6: it's a hard name to pronounce, like his original name.
- 50:07Speaker 2: Oh is it?
- 50:08Speaker 6: Yeah, it's I'd have to google it, okay, because it's
- 50:13Speaker 6: it's a you know, old stage name, right, yeah, see
- 50:15Speaker 6: why you changed it for the stage.
- 50:17Speaker 1: But still Kirk Douglas is dead, right, Yeah, well he
- 50:20Speaker 1: made a hundred.
- 50:22Speaker 2: Well it's like Martin Sheen changed his name, right, it's
- 50:25Speaker 2: really Estevez.
- 50:27Speaker 1: Yeah, oh that's right.
- 50:28Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, but.
- 50:29Speaker 2: They told him at the time, hey, you can't have
- 50:32Speaker 2: that Hispanic last name. You won't make it in theaters.
- 50:35Speaker 6: Okay. Kirk Douglas's original name is is Sir Daniel Lovitch, right,
- 50:43Speaker 6: that's Kirk Douglas's.
- 50:44Speaker 2: Okay, so say that again.
- 50:48Speaker 1: It's sir.
- 50:49Speaker 6: It's like I s s you are and then it's
- 50:53Speaker 6: Daniel Lovich.
- 50:55Speaker 2: Okay.
- 50:56Speaker 1: What's the origin of that name? What is that?
- 51:01Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 51:01Speaker 6: Immigrants, So they're they're Russian immigrants.
- 51:05Speaker 1: So it's Russian.
- 51:06Speaker 2: Okay.
- 51:07Speaker 6: So he's probably Jewish origin from Russia that you know,
- 51:14Speaker 6: came over here, so in the early nineteen hundreds, so
- 51:19Speaker 6: that's why he changed his name.
- 51:21Speaker 1: It's kind of like Daniel, say it with your Russian accent.
- 51:24Speaker 2: Oh no, no, not at all, you don't.
- 51:31Speaker 6: Yeah, it's probably Russian.
- 51:33Speaker 2: Yeah, all right.
- 51:38Speaker 6: I don't know how you get Kirk Dougles out of that.
- 51:40Speaker 6: You know, some producers like You'll beat Kirk.
- 51:45Speaker 2: I have a buddy of mine who works at a
- 51:48Speaker 2: very popular airport, and he has told me that the
- 51:53Speaker 2: one celebrity he meets repeatedly because I guess the guy
- 51:56Speaker 2: lives in the area and is constantly flying out of there.
- 51:59Speaker 2: So like he's first name is basis with this celebrity
- 52:02Speaker 2: at this point, Chuck Norris really yeah, yeah, I don't
- 52:08Speaker 2: want to say the airport, but all right, you later, Scott,
- 52:12Speaker 2: but uh okay, okay, yeah, but uh yeah, apparently my
- 52:16Speaker 2: buddy is now first name is basis with Chuck Norris.
- 52:19Speaker 1: What's up, Chuck?
- 52:20Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah kind of, and it's really weird.
- 52:23Speaker 6: He's like some movie that never got a sequel is
- 52:25Speaker 6: Delta Force?
- 52:26Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, do you.
- 52:28Speaker 6: Remember Delta Force? Chuck Norris.
- 52:30Speaker 1: Yeah, Chuck Norris has got to be almost ninety now, yeah.
- 52:33Speaker 6: Like a motorcycle with a gun on it.
- 52:36Speaker 2: Yeah, My buddy's like he's in his eighties and he
- 52:38Speaker 2: looks it like yeah, yeah.
- 52:42Speaker 6: Yeah, that was an awesome movie back then.
- 52:45Speaker 1: Yeah, think of the memes when he dies.
- 52:48Speaker 3: Oh god, Chuck Norris doesn't die, Yeah, Chuck Norris chose.
- 52:53Speaker 2: To die, right, Yeah, he just got tired of being awesome,
- 52:57Speaker 2: you know, yeah?
- 52:58Speaker 1: Right, yeah, yeah, you wanted to kick death stass.
- 53:02Speaker 2: Yeah that's right, that's right. All right.
- 53:06Speaker 6: Well, it's funny because he always had an issue that
- 53:09Speaker 6: all the Bruce Lee movies had to play the bad
- 53:10Speaker 6: guy and he always had to lose against Bruce Lee.
- 53:13Speaker 2: Right, And didn't you say he thought he could beat
- 53:16Speaker 2: up Bruce Lee? Uh?
- 53:19Speaker 6: I don't know, like I know, he was at several
- 53:23Speaker 6: degrees a black belt, you.
- 53:24Speaker 2: Know, he.
- 53:26Speaker 3: Chuck Norris didn't leave this world. The world left Chuck Norris.
- 53:30Speaker 6: Yeah, that's right.
- 53:33Speaker 1: You heard it here first Vogue. That's right.
- 53:38Speaker 6: Well, we have a supplemental on Chuck Norris, like his
- 53:41Speaker 6: best movies. Oh god, mis Action one, Missing Action too.
- 53:46Speaker 1: Yeah, we have to wait till he passes though.
- 53:49Speaker 2: Oh it'll be about sidekicks.
- 53:51Speaker 6: I love that man.
- 53:52Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, oh that's an old one.
- 53:55Speaker 6: That's right, it's a callback.
- 53:58Speaker 2: Yeah, Walking Stranger oh god, yeah, yeah, Walker says I
- 54:03Speaker 2: have aids Walker.
- 54:06Speaker 1: That's what I first saw him and was watch Texas Rangers.
- 54:09Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that's his pinnacle right there. Yep, ye, all right,
- 54:16Speaker 2: anything else you want to bring up chest Biz.
- 54:20Speaker 6: Once. Our lower decks coming back.
- 54:22Speaker 2: The twenty fifth October twenty fifth, so about a month away.
- 54:26Speaker 1: A little bit.
- 54:27Speaker 6: It's on Strange New Worlds.
- 54:30Speaker 2: They're shooting it. That's all we know.
- 54:32Speaker 6: They're shooting that. No writers strike, no actors strike.
- 54:35Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah at some point section thirty one.
- 54:39Speaker 1: Yeah, that one's still coming out, isn't it.
- 54:41Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 54:43Speaker 1: Are we excited about that? I don't know how the
- 54:45Speaker 1: group feels.
- 54:47Speaker 2: I feel like we're gonna have a very cathartic after
- 54:51Speaker 2: the fact.
- 54:51Speaker 6: I think you guys ought to do a watch along.
- 54:54Speaker 2: It's hard to beat alongs with with paramount man.
- 54:58Speaker 6: If all three of you could do a watch for long, yeah,
- 55:01Speaker 6: so funny.
- 55:02Speaker 3: Could could we do something where the three of us
- 55:06Speaker 3: just watched the movie at the same time and then
- 55:08Speaker 3: not record it, but then just so we can experience
- 55:12Speaker 3: it at the same time.
- 55:13Speaker 2: We could I know that there are some people who
- 55:19Speaker 2: will stream uh Star Trek on like a discord chat.
- 55:24Speaker 2: Oh mean that could work because you're not technically broadcasting
- 55:28Speaker 2: it to the entire Internet.
- 55:29Speaker 6: It's just a small group.
- 55:31Speaker 2: Yeah, so that might be possible.
- 55:35Speaker 1: Okay.
- 55:36Speaker 2: On one hundred one Star Trek Legacy yeah, we would.
- 55:40Speaker 1: Love and every other star Trek Fane.
- 55:43Speaker 2: They seem pretty dead set against that.
- 55:45Speaker 6: So yeah, it's like Alex Kurtzman, it's his fat Well,
- 55:48Speaker 6: you let Terry Mentalis leave and then he's look this
- 55:51Speaker 6: show like you had a show that could have gone on.
- 55:55Speaker 2: But that doesn't mean Mettalas couldn't come back. Right, He's
- 55:58Speaker 2: doing one season of Vision, yeah, you know, so he
- 56:02Speaker 2: could ease.
- 56:03Speaker 6: The thing is you're waiting so long that some of
- 56:05Speaker 6: these others getting older, like and then they they have
- 56:09Speaker 6: other jobs and.
- 56:10Speaker 2: Well you got the same problem with Orville season four, right,
- 56:13Speaker 2: I mean we would all love that, but it's getting
- 56:14Speaker 2: longer and longer. Yeah, it's gonna be harder to get
- 56:17Speaker 2: the band back together.
- 56:18Speaker 6: It's kind of like this was that there This week
- 56:21Speaker 6: they're casting the near Harry Potter Show.
- 56:22Speaker 2: Right, Oh are they? I don't don't.
- 56:24Speaker 6: You know, because that's a the rebooting we're all talking.
- 56:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I knew they were going to do that, but.
- 56:29Speaker 6: You know, we don't want to reboot, well make reboot.
- 56:34Speaker 3: Yeah, they're gonna make it at that studio not hear
- 56:37Speaker 3: my rant.
- 56:37Speaker 1: Just a few minutes.
- 56:38Speaker 2: Ago they did not know it's Winners okay.
- 56:42Speaker 6: So right now they're casting the children. So that's like
- 56:44Speaker 6: a seven year, eight year commitment.
- 56:47Speaker 2: You're you're gonna need to get your quill and pen
- 56:49Speaker 2: and parchment and send a raven.
- 56:53Speaker 6: Yeah, it's an owl.
- 57:01Speaker 3: My youngest son is a big Harry Potter fan, so
- 57:03Speaker 3: I'm sure. Oh yeah, I'm a big Harry. He's read
- 57:07Speaker 3: all the books and seen all the movies, and I
- 57:10Speaker 3: got a big.
- 57:13Speaker 2: I haven't seen or watched any of it or read
- 57:16Speaker 2: any of it.
- 57:17Speaker 6: You haven't seen.
- 57:18Speaker 3: No, Well, the next time you next time you get sick,
- 57:22Speaker 3: you know, and you go through one of those one
- 57:25Speaker 3: of those movie watching.
- 57:29Speaker 2: Yeah, it's all right.
- 57:30Speaker 6: Do you like Goonies?
- 57:32Speaker 2: It's fine, Okay, Yeah, that's.
- 57:36Speaker 3: You're gonna make the analogy between Home Alone, Goonies and
- 57:39Speaker 3: Harry Potter.
- 57:41Speaker 6: Because Chris Columbus wrote the Goonies and then he directed
- 57:46Speaker 6: Home Alone, and then he directed Harry Potter. You want
- 57:50Speaker 6: to get your and then you got the John Williams score.
- 57:54Speaker 6: You know, you got like good music everything.
- 57:57Speaker 2: So do you want to get Home Alone ruined for you?
- 58:02Speaker 2: Because I'll ruin it right now. Please try Home Alone
- 58:06Speaker 2: ends on a sad note, and the sad note is this.
- 58:11Speaker 2: If you watch the movie, the very last scene the
- 58:14Speaker 2: old man and his family are together, Kevin's family is
- 58:19Speaker 2: downstairs and Kevin is upstairs by himself. He is not
- 58:22Speaker 2: with his family. So even though he's been reunited, he
- 58:27Speaker 2: is not with them.
- 58:28Speaker 1: He's still he's still alone. That's horrible. Why would you
- 58:33Speaker 1: do that, Daniel?
- 58:34Speaker 6: That's part they had to make the sequel.
- 58:39Speaker 3: They made Home Alone too, Lost in New York, which
- 58:43Speaker 3: had the greatest acting of all time. During the hotel
- 58:47Speaker 3: scene and he runs into Donald Trump.
- 58:51Speaker 2: That's right, Macaulay Culkin is doing a watching tour for fans.
- 59:00Speaker 2: I didn't know that. That's cool.
- 59:01Speaker 1: Really, Oh yeah interesting.
- 59:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 59:04Speaker 6: Now, when you guys flew into O'Hare Airport, you know,
- 59:08Speaker 6: for the Star Trek convention, did you like look down
- 59:10Speaker 6: the hallways and think that's where they ran through the terminal?
- 59:15Speaker 1: That's right?
- 59:16Speaker 2: Yeah, oh I did not think that at all.
- 59:19Speaker 6: I was like, holy crap, this is the scene.
- 59:25Speaker 1: No.
- 59:26Speaker 2: My thought was Chad said to go meet him over here,
- 59:29Speaker 2: and I don't know how to get over there.
- 59:31Speaker 1: Oh, here's a horrible airport.
- 59:33Speaker 6: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, that's that's a giant one. Atlanta
- 59:39Speaker 6: and Dallas f W is the giant one too, So.
- 59:42Speaker 3: Yeah, Atlanta's a it's a zoo.
- 59:46Speaker 6: Yeah, Atlanta is the worst one. I've ever been to.
- 59:48Speaker 3: Atlanta because it's one of the largest, it's a hub,
- 59:52Speaker 3: so it's it's horrible.
- 59:53Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 59:54Speaker 2: So I feel like the Portland, Oregon one is really
- 59:57Speaker 2: well laid out like that one seems pretty easy to navigate.
- 1:00:00Speaker 6: Yeah. Denver one's really cool because it's like three giant terminals.
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: Yeah, and all the Illuminati stuff everywhere the Denver one.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: Yeah, Sea tax a nice airport, all.
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, yeah, I've been there so yeah.
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: So on our next show, we're gonna do a breakdown
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: of the worst and the best.
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: Review airports. Okay, we'll do that review airports.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: Okay, all right, Well.
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: I think that's pretty much wrapping it up.
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: We get that once we start, once we start talking
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: about airports. Yeah, my mom is probably listening, going, what
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: the hell are they talking about?
- 1:00:37Speaker 6: The random segue?
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, that's what makes us trek cast the Galaxy
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: Parable start treks.
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: All right, everybody, Well, thanks for listening, and we'll see
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: you next time.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: Sounds good bye bye.
