In Top News Are you sure that the Jimmy Kimmel
• 5:49
clip was real? Late night artificial intelligence
• 5:52
de -fakes are spreading online. Jimmy Kimmel
• 5:56
is currently on summer break from his late night
• 5:58
talk show on ABC. Social media videos appear
• 6:02
to show him commenting on various topics. including
• 6:06
President Trump dozing off in a meeting. Fake
• 6:09
videos featuring Kimmel and other hosts are proliferating
• 6:12
online, and these generative AI creations are
• 6:15
simpler to produce than other celebrity defakes.
• 6:20
Jed Rosenzweig, founder of LateNighter .com,
• 6:23
highlights that audiences readily accept these
• 6:26
clips due to their context. He notes that while
• 6:29
these videos can mislead viewers, some signs
• 6:31
indicate they are not genuine. Platforms like
• 6:35
TikTok and Google are attempting to combat this
• 6:37
issue, but struggle with the rapid emergence
• 6:40
of such content. Legal protections against these
• 6:43
defakes remain limited and vary by state. In
• 6:48
business news, Elon Musk's space company SpaceX
• 6:53
has announced plans for a $100 billion dollar
• 6:56
build -out in Louisiana for its Starship program.

Construction is set to begin in 2027, with an
• 7:15
initial launch expected in 2029, creating between
• 7:19
3 ,000 to 10 ,000 jobs. Analysts have given SPCX

• 8:41
back to the show. Let's talk tech. Scientists
• 8:47
have created the littlest Big Bang to study the
• 8:50
universe's origins. In the early moments of the
• 8:53
universe, matter was not yet formed. A millionth
• 8:57
of a second after the Big Bang, the universe
• 8:59
was a hot soup known as quark -gluon plasma.
• 9:04
A recent experiment by the European Organization
• 9:06
for Nuclear Research, also known as CERN, demonstrated
• 9:11
that this plasma can be produced through smaller
• 9:13
collisions. Using oxygen -16 and neon -20, scientists
• 9:18
generated signals consistent with quark -gluon
• 9:21
plasma behavior. This research could enhance
• 9:24
our understanding of how primordial plasma evolved
• 9:28
into all matter. And in entertainment news, in
• 9:35
the latest episode of Lanterns titled Outcast,
• 9:38
viewers delve into Jon Stewart's complicated
• 9:41
upbringing. This episode reveals pivotal moments
• 9:44
from his past, including his father's fear of
• 9:47
becoming a Green Lantern and the unique way John

is chosen for the role. As the story unfolds,

• 10:04
a target known as Grey Wolf, which ultimately
• 10:07
leads to his dishonorable discharge from the
• 10:09
Marines. New episodes of Lanterns Air on HBO
• 10:14
and HBO Max every Sunday. Well, all righty, folks.
• 10:20
It's time for the quote of the day. And today,
• 10:24
our quote comes from the American author and
• 10:26
motivational speaker, Dennis Waitley. And he
• 10:30
said, success in life comes not from holding
• 10:34
a good hand, but in playing a poor hand well.
• 10:38
And that's a wrap for this morning. You can check
• 10:42
