- 0:00Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Three.
- 0:03O take where we talk all things Major League Baseball.
- 0:06Here's Kyle Corwin and Nate Reyes.
- 0:10It all starts right now. Welcome back to the three O take
- 0:16presented by Sea Kick. This episode 496.
- 0:20I'll be your host Kyle Corwin. I'm here with my Co host Nate
- 0:22Reyes. Nate.
- 0:27Hello, everybody, Welcome. If you're catching us live,
- 0:31appreciate you. I did see a number while you
- 0:37were reading or reading the intro and then I saw that number
- 0:42drop a few and I'm not sure if it's from what they saw.
- 0:47Maybe they saw me and they were just like, we're not listening
- 0:51to the city. I said I'm not.
- 0:52I'm not signing up for an hour of Nate in a Santa hat.
- 0:55Well, too bad Santa hat. And if you can't tell if you
- 1:00want to zoom in. Yeah.
- 1:02What do you got there? We got.
- 1:03Jammies. We got jammies on.
- 1:06It's a polar bear skiing some mountains in here.
- 1:11And if you're wondering, yes, there's matching.
- 1:15Oh, the matching bottoms. That's right, because I'm here,
- 1:19I'm in the spirit and let's send it.
- 1:24You know what I mean? Let's just hop on in because
- 1:26maybe some people are looking at this is like, hey, this is like
- 1:29Christmas early. Maybe there's some some fans out
- 1:33there that are very happy. Heck yes, the stove is hot.
- 1:38The stove is hot. We got some, got some trades to
- 1:44discuss. We got some signings to discuss.
- 1:49And I feel if I'm being honest, in my heart of hearts, in my
- 1:54gut, I even mentioned to you. You feeling or something you
- 1:59mentioned? It to you a little earlier, I
- 2:02think I think we're due for a move on this.
- 2:07I'm ready for you to hit that buzzer.
- 2:09I am feeling a move and if we have any, if we have any people
- 2:14in the in the chat that have a prediction on who they think
- 2:18it's going to be. I have my.
- 2:22I have my thought. What do you got?
- 2:26What do you? Think there's?
- 2:28Yeah, say it. Should we say it on three?
- 2:33Just say the name. Hold on, I'm I'm deciding
- 2:36between two names that I think. That OK, Yeah, I that'll happen
- 2:44during this recording. Yes, I I think I have a name
- 2:48that I think is going to happen that is going to be moved during
- 2:51this recording. OK, who moved?
- 2:58Interesting. All right, ready.
- 3:02Do you have a name or am I just saying this on?
- 3:04Three, I have a name. I was going to stay with you
- 3:05all. Right. 321 Luis Castillo, that
- 3:14was, that was my other name. That was the other name I was
- 3:17deciding between. Luis Castillo is coming to
- 3:20Boston. Do you think that's the that's
- 3:22the other move, huh? There are some there's some
- 3:26rumors swirling, some reports coming in said that the Sox are
- 3:30are very much interested in snagging an arm out of that
- 3:35Mariner's rotation. So I think that's a name that
- 3:40makes sense. So that's why I've got going
- 3:43during this episode. So we'll see.
- 3:45We'll see. But let's talk about the deals
- 3:48that have gone down. Let's keep it.
- 3:51We'll start it here in Boston. Garrett crochet to the Red Sox.
- 3:57My goodness, they did something. Can you believe it?
- 4:01It's a Christmas miracle. They needed to.
- 4:03You mentioned, seriously, you mentioned you talk about fan,
- 4:06fan bases that are feeling like, you know, Christmas came a
- 4:10little early. Red Sox fans have to be.
- 4:14If they're smart, they have to be pleased with this move.
- 4:18How are you feeling? I'm happy we did something.
- 4:25This wasn't you texted me saying this wasn't like the name.
- 4:29If I had to rank. You're open for.
- 4:31Put it this way, you take the big three, two of which have
- 4:36already signed, and then you add crochet in the mix, because
- 4:39crochet obviously has been on the table for some time.
- 4:42You're saying pitchers are in general?
- 4:44Pitchers the big shout out to wretched 24 White Sox and Chat.
- 4:48And he's in an excruciating pain.
- 4:51A dying White Sox fan. Maybe you can talk him out of it
- 4:53a little bit. Maybe you can shed some light on
- 4:56no prospects. I think, I think he's having
- 4:59PTSD from the Chris Sale acquisition almost to the to the
- 5:05day. I I think that was that was like
- 5:08December 6th or 8th or something back in 14 No 16/16/16 it.
- 5:18Wasn't 14. No, it was 16.
- 5:21No, he was still at the White Sox 14.
- 5:23Anyway, Yeah, take the big three, rank the big three,
- 5:28adding crochet. If I had to rank those four
- 5:30names, I would probably go. And by the Big three, I'm
- 5:35talking Snell Freed Burns throwing crochet to the mix.
- 5:39It's crazy that my mind doesn't even go to snow.
- 5:41It feels so removed. Snell feels so removed from this
- 5:47free agency. Anyway, keep going.
- 5:48Right. Well, yeah, so Snell's out of
- 5:50the mix. Free is obviously out of the
- 5:51mix. So you've got Burns and now
- 5:52crochet in Boston. But if it prior to all of this,
- 5:55prior to this this offseason, I would have probably said, and I
- 5:59know some people are going to this is going to raise some
- 6:02eyebrows. I would have put free to the
- 6:06top. Now, whether or not he's going
- 6:12to whether like you can sit there and debate like what
- 6:14Fried's going to offer you versus what Burns is going to
- 6:16offer you. But there's just something about
- 6:18like a fit to me. And it's like Fried would have,
- 6:23I don't know, we got a thing for like lanky lefties.
- 6:26I don't know, it just it just seemed like more like a fit and
- 6:29his stuff is pretty gross. I.
- 6:32Know, but what I told you last night in the in a text was that
- 6:37I think if, if, if the Red Sox do pull off getting burns, which
- 6:43in my mind it, it just seems like that like whoever the
- 6:48Yankees got the Red Sox were going to hit the other guy.
- 6:50It's just it feels that way. It still feels that way, but I
- 6:54think that plays a little bit better just with the fact that
- 6:57like, you know, righty's hitting off of Freed and Fenway versus
- 7:02righty's hitting off of, of Freed and, and Yankee Stadium.
- 7:06Like if you're going to choose the two of which plays of the
- 7:08park, you know, like they go way back for like joking about, you
- 7:12know, trading Ted Williams for Joe DiMaggio, right?
- 7:17Like on a napkin or whatever. Like talking about who would be
- 7:20the better fit for the park. That that to me kind of feels
- 7:24that way. Like I, I feel like Burns would
- 7:26be a better fit. The beard, it already felt weird
- 7:30to me that if Burns was the Yankee like I do that I I have
- 7:34to do that. Like, sure, it's a part of the
- 7:36picture. So yeah, I don't know.
- 7:40But crochet I mean. Well, finishing up my list, I
- 7:43would, I would go freed Burns snow.
- 7:48Come on, snow crochet. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 7:52But it's not like it. But for me, putting crochet at
- 7:55the bottom of that list, it's not like I'm disappointed with
- 7:58this move. Like I said, I'm happy they did
- 8:00something. I'm going to.
- 8:01I, I, I'm certain that I'm going to be pleased with his
- 8:05performance this year and beyond because he's got, I think what,
- 8:09two more years of, of service there or, you know, two more
- 8:13years of time before free agency control, control.
- 8:16That's the word I was looking for.
- 8:17Thank you. And look, I know what I said
- 8:21about and I still stand by it. I I, I was not a fan of how we
- 8:25handled the whole I'm demanding an extension before I I agree,
- 8:30like before I land wherever I land next.
- 8:33I still think that was a a bit over the top and I still I still
- 8:37stand by that. I just want to make that clear.
- 8:39However, I don't know, I, I just feel like I'm in a better place
- 8:49now, now that we've made it to the like.
- 8:51This wasn't, this wasn't something that we were
- 8:54overextending ourselves at the deadline.
- 8:56Because remember, if you go back to the deadline, moves that were
- 9:00being made, you, you were, you were asking for halls in return.
- 9:04And if you remember, I said you were asking me like, well, are
- 9:07you are you glad the Red Sox are are, are you OK with the fact
- 9:10that the Red Sox didn't really do much?
- 9:12And I said, yeah, because if we would have done something at the
- 9:14deadline, it would have meant overextending ourselves, giving
- 9:16up too much. And I just, I would have rather
- 9:19have just stayed put and not not done that.
- 9:21But the the return that the White Sox are getting, I feel
- 9:24like is a reasonable return for for both parties.
- 9:29You, you don't give up any of your truly top guys.
- 9:33I mean, the headlining name going back to Chicago is, is
- 9:36Kyle Thiel, who you you talk again, it goes back to the whole
- 9:40proven talent versus prospects issue for me.
- 9:43And this is a situation where I'm like still early in his
- 9:47career, but I'm still taking a guy like Garrett Crochet and you
- 9:50can have the prospects that you want, especially considering we
- 9:53didn't give up the The Untouchables, as it were, so.
- 9:57I think teal is supposed to be like the top catching prospect,
- 10:05maybe top three at least. Yeah, yeah.
- 10:09As far as catching goes. Yeah, let me check the updated.
- 10:16That's see this to me. Tell me if I'm wrong.
- 10:19I mean I with this being their first move, then your prediction
- 10:25of trading. Top he's.
- 10:28Top three with your prediction of of the Red Sox making a move
- 10:31to go get Luis Castillo, Doesn't it feel like this?
- 10:38Like, do you see two trades where there's still like Burn?
- 10:45I still feel like Burns is out there for the taking.
- 10:48Like, I don't know if it makes sense to just trade in, like
- 10:54deplete the farm, but then not go get a free agent in in
- 10:58return, you know? But I think this would change a
- 11:00little bit. I think I'm assuming Yoshida
- 11:04would be in the mix and if there is a trade for.
- 11:08Well, if there's a move specifically with Seattle,
- 11:10Tristan Casas is going to be a name that's.
- 11:13So you think those two move out the door for Luis Castillo?
- 11:16Would you do that? It really comes down to what
- 11:19they're looking. Whoever, if there is an arm
- 11:22that's traded for, whether it's with Seattle or I've even seen
- 11:25Pittsburgh in the mix, there's going to want to it.
- 11:27It really comes down to what that other team has to get off
- 11:32the books. So if if that's something that's
- 11:35becomes a priority for said team, Yoshida is going to
- 11:38probably, that's probably that's going to impact whether or not
- 11:42Yoshida is involved in that as well.
- 11:44But I think with the resources that you still have after this
- 11:48trade, if you're the Red Sox, you can still, if you want to
- 11:51trade, if you don't want to, you don't want to spend money on
- 11:54Corbin Burns, which I have a hard time believing they want it
- 11:57given that they're a a legitimate contender for Soto.
- 12:00If, if that's if that's the case, if you don't want to go
- 12:02down that route of spending the money and you just want to trade
- 12:06assets here, I still think you can go out and get a frontline
- 12:11guy and still be in good shape in terms of what you're hanging
- 12:16on to. Yeah.
- 12:18How do you feel about about crochet?
- 12:22Obviously last year, 32 starts last year.
- 12:29Yeah. And and I was getting into it
- 12:31with somebody on on Twitter today where I was talking about,
- 12:34you know, proven talent versus prospects.
- 12:36And this individual was talking about, well, like what is
- 12:40proven? What like he hasn't done
- 12:41anything. And I'm, while that is a point
- 12:46that maybe I would have made back at the deadline when we're
- 12:49talking about this whole demanding of an extension that
- 12:52we referenced earlier, like he, he was making the transition to
- 12:59a, to a starting role this year. Yeah, which is something you
- 13:01have to keep in mind. So like you, you, you can, you
- 13:05have to take that into consideration.
- 13:07The strikeout stuff is. Yeah.
- 13:10Gross so well, I think I .912 nine yeah, it was a 12/9 KS per
- 13:15nine this past year and he had a a fifth point O.
- 13:21Two point O walks per 9. Yeah.
- 13:24And I think he had a FIP of like two.
- 13:26It was in the like 269. Yeah, 269 when his ERA on the
- 13:31year I think was like a three five or something.
- 13:34So that just goes to show you like better than what the
- 13:38numbers may show in, in certain categories.
- 13:41So I'm like I said, I'm fine with it.
- 13:43I'm I'm very much looking forward to having an actual
- 13:47frontline guy take the ball on opening day.
- 13:50Yeah, I'd be soaked too. I think there's a lot of talent
- 13:53there, a lot of upside. I mean, even with I was
- 13:58surprised at the 32 starts because I remember there being
- 14:01obviously, look, no offense, but there's a certain point in the
- 14:05year where we all kind of check out of White Sox anything.
- 14:10And there was a certain point where like once that came out
- 14:14and he didn't get moved at the deadline, I don't know if I ever
- 14:16really put my eyes on the White Sox again after that.
- 14:19So I didn't realize that he put up 32 starts.
- 14:24I know there was a little bit of a limit on on innings.
- 14:27There was midday. And and even with that, he he
- 14:30pushed 150. So you got to assume that like
- 14:33if he can stay healthy and he's in that 30 plus start range with
- 14:38no limitations, you're talking, you're talking to the immediate
- 14:43180 hundred and 90 inning guy and strikeout stuff is crazy and
- 14:49you got to have that strikeout stuff in Fenway.
- 14:51So I think it's a really good move.
- 14:55I I think it's to me, I'm like, what else?
- 14:59Like it? If I'm, if I'm looking at it
- 15:01from the outside, I'm like, they're the Red Sox need to do
- 15:03one other thing. This is nice, but I need to see
- 15:06one more and I'm curious where that goes.
- 15:09Is it a Bregman? Is it splurging for a burns
- 15:13here? I think there's a lot up in the
- 15:14air. Here are the names that are that
- 15:17I've been here and are are in the mix right now.
- 15:22Corbin Burns. Obviously you're linked to
- 15:23Corbin Burns, a Mariner starter. I'm we're just going to say Luis
- 15:30Castillo for conversation sake. Alex Bregman, you're linked to
- 15:34Alex Bregman. Nolan Arnado, you're linked to
- 15:36Nolan Arnado, to Oscar Hernandez.
- 15:40Give me one of those position players and one of those
- 15:44pitchers. You need to.
- 15:47And I'm, I'm happy. And it like if you really want
- 15:50to, if you really want to take a step further, like I said, I
- 15:52keep going back to the Tanner Scott thing.
- 15:54Go out and get go out and get another arm for the pen.
- 15:58And then you're you're really in good shape.
- 16:00But I'll be I'm not going to. I'm not going to you're.
- 16:02Going to be happy with Chapman. I'm not going to be, no not
- 16:05happy with Chapman, but I would be.
- 16:08I'd be satisfied with one of those arms and one of those
- 16:12position players. Fair enough.
- 16:15Let's talk Max Freed here. Yeah.
- 16:19Eight-year $218,000,000 deal with the New York Yankees.
- 16:24Sort of alluded to it a little bit earlier, this is the largest
- 16:30contract ever for a lefty. I know, that's kind of crazy,
- 16:35huh? Ironically enough, it was a
- 16:39loan, $1,000,000 more CC now David Price 217 million with the
- 16:47Red Sox back in 15 and actually Kershaw's are after that 215.
- 16:54What does CC get? No I have no idea.
- 16:57I just threw a a lefty name out there.
- 16:59Those are the only ones over 200, so I mean it.
- 17:02Was 2009 when it happened, so I'm assuming yeah.
- 17:05CC would have been probably well below that.
- 17:08Yeah, probably stupid guess. How do you feel about it though?
- 17:11I mean, we, like I said, we sort of touched on it, but how do you
- 17:15feel having Max Freed as you're sliding in as your number two
- 17:19guy? There's there's two ways to feel
- 17:23about it. I, I do agree with you that I
- 17:26wanted freed overburns despite the questionable, you know,
- 17:36health issues, It's not terrible, it's not great. 28
- 17:43starts in 2021, thirty in 2022, only 14 in 2023, which was the
- 17:49trouble year and then 29 last year.
- 17:51So even with that, I mean career ER as three O 7, like he still
- 17:58managed 174 innings last year, 185 in 2022.
- 18:03So it's one of those were like, is he going to stay healthy for
- 18:06the full eight years? Probably not because who does?
- 18:10But I feel really excited. I mean, that's a 1-2 punch that
- 18:16I mean, you you can argue that's that's, you know, a top five 1-2
- 18:20punch in baseball when when Cole is going right and Freed is
- 18:24going right. I love the the lefty play in in
- 18:28Yankee Stadium with Death Valley and left center there.
- 18:31There's a lot of it that that looks and feels right.
- 18:35Solid mustache. I wonder if that sticks around
- 18:37it. Has to.
- 18:39It has to. I think so.
- 18:42Now the other side of it is like, how is Cole healthy?
- 18:48Is Garrett Cole fully healthy? Are we going to see if there or
- 18:51is this like the safety net and, and the fall back plan on some
- 18:57underlying issue to Gary Cole that we as fans don't know yet?
- 19:01So I like I'm, I'm happy, but I'm also nervous for that.
- 19:07But I, I do think it opens up a lot more options for them.
- 19:13You know, they talked about being my number is like the 55
- 19:19million that's left after this of, of what they would do is
- 19:23they shook off like 80 something million this offseason and not
- 19:28getting Sodo I think is a blessing.
- 19:30So being able to allocate that money elsewhere in certain other
- 19:35holes. It also opens up the the big
- 19:39league names that can be moved because there's, you know, the
- 19:44farm names. They don't want to move on from
- 19:45Spencer Jones, you know, Jason Dominguez, they're not going to
- 19:48move on from. So it's like you got to have big
- 19:50league guys ready to go. Now Luis Heel can potentially be
- 19:54shopped coming off of a rookie of the year.
- 19:58Now you can maybe offload some Stroman money, Nestor Cortez,
- 20:02names like that don't want to. But maybe Clark Schmidt, like
- 20:06some of those guys that are fighting for the fifth spot in
- 20:08the rotation, can get shopped and.
- 20:13That can that can add for a bat that can go somewhere.
- 20:16And does that go to a Nolan or does that go to, you know, crazy
- 20:21enough, like maybe a Kyle Tucker?
- 20:22I have no idea. Question for you with with the
- 20:25Mets, which we'll sort of touch on very briefly because it's
- 20:29we're we're days past it now, but we haven't had a chance to
- 20:32talk about it. But with the Clay Holmes thing,
- 20:33with the Mets repurposing him as a starter, was there if the
- 20:38Yankees would have hung on to him for whatever reason, was
- 20:41there any rumblings about them doing the same thing?
- 20:44Nope, OK, nothing. This is like one of the few
- 20:48things that I'm super confident in with Cashman and the Yankees
- 20:52and analytics. They're good to find one under
- 20:58like diamond in the rough, under the radar reliever.
- 21:02Every year they're going to find one that like no one's ever
- 21:05heard of because, you know, metrics show that one of their
- 21:09pitches is insane, whether it's a cutter or a sinker.
- 21:12So like, I do feel like they could fill that role.
- 21:16I'm not a Marc Lighter junior believer personally.
- 21:19I don't think he's it. I just saw before we hopped on
- 21:21that they're bringing in, they're bringing back Louisa.
- 21:24So if he stays healthy, like maybe that's to soften that
- 21:27blow. But like, yeah, there was never,
- 21:29I never heard any kind of idea that Clay Holmes is going to be
- 21:34a starter. The dude walks everybody.
- 21:37So I don't know. Interesting.
- 21:43Fair enough. Any other thoughts on Max Reed
- 21:46for move on to our next individual?
- 21:52Kind of like you man. They still need two more names.
- 21:57Starting pitching is good. Go get Tanner Scott and a bat
- 22:00trade for somebody. I don't know.
- 22:05I'm not super stoked about Bellinger, but there's a lot of
- 22:08a. Lot of smoke there.
- 22:09I'd stay away from that. Yeah, if I'm any team out there,
- 22:12really. I know.
- 22:13There's a lot of smoke there, though.
- 22:14There's a lot of traction going. Oh yeah, yeah.
- 22:17No, but the last thing I'll say with Freed though, and I I
- 22:18should have mentioned this off the top with him, but a lot of
- 22:24people saying this was an overpay, a lot of people saying
- 22:27this was like a panic move. This was not a panic move.
- 22:30This was a this was a pivot. Did we had we were talking about
- 22:34this before Soto had like for for days, weeks freed Burns.
- 22:40These those were two of the guys.
- 22:42I'm honestly still surprised as of right now, this very moment,
- 22:45Burns is still out there, still surprised he's out there.
- 22:48But Frieden Burns were the two guys that were going to be the
- 22:53plan that we're going to serve as the plan BS for these teams
- 22:56that didn't went out with the Soto sweepstakes.
- 23:01People are going 8 years for a what, 30?
- 23:06What is he, 31? Please hold 30.
- 23:11He's 30. He'll be 31 in January.
- 23:15OK. Yeah, yeah.
- 23:16So it's like an 8 year deal for that and you're going to give
- 23:19him 218,000,000? It's like this is what you were
- 23:22going to have to do like. Yeah, I personally like the 8th
- 23:26year because I mean a lot of people were saying six or seven
- 23:28years. I think it keeps the AAV down,
- 23:30which is beneficial to the Yankees.
- 23:32So I I don't hate this. I think if you're in Burns camp
- 23:37like that maybe starts to creep into like a 23240 number.
- 23:45He he could very well be looking at like 250 upper twos.
- 23:49Upper twos, yeah, would be my guess.
- 23:53I don't know, I don't, I think this whole market look like I, I
- 23:58like that the Yankees didn't go weird and try to replace Juan
- 24:03Soto and like overpay like a Santander.
- 24:07You know what I mean? Nothing against him, but like
- 24:09he's not Juan Soto. I think what they did is looked
- 24:11at the market and said like who, who's the best available, right?
- 24:14Like when you're drafting, like I want to take the best
- 24:17available player, whether it's a immediate need or not.
- 24:20But what they did is they gave themselves wiggle room with the
- 24:23with the rotation to use that as, you know, assets to move on,
- 24:27you know, to go get a bat just because maybe the bats that they
- 24:31see on on the market don't check all the boxes they're looking to
- 24:34check. So I think it's a smart move.
- 24:36I like it. And it is an easy transition
- 24:39because, again, Garrett Cole's 35, like there's a little
- 24:43changing in the guard that will happen in the next few years for
- 24:45him to step in to the number one roll.
- 24:50Was there was there an opt out in that?
- 24:57I don't think there's an opt out.
- 24:58Yeah, I don't think there's a full no trade clause as well.
- 25:01Yeah, I don't, I don't remember seeing anything about a opt out
- 25:04so. Yanks don't do a ton of opt outs
- 25:08to be honest with you. I wish Nathan Ievaldi could opt
- 25:13out of this deal with the Rangers and and come back to
- 25:15Boston like I usually wanted. Look, since it's gone down, I've
- 25:21honestly, I've had some time to reflect and I as much as I love
- 25:26Nathan Ivaldi, it, it honestly just would have felt kind of
- 25:31weird. Like he, he gave us, he gave us
- 25:36the years that he did. He had some highs, but he also
- 25:40had some lows. But I don't know how it would
- 25:42have felt about a reunion. It just would have like I, I
- 25:44wanted him here. Sure.
- 25:46Because just because we we have nothing when it comes to
- 25:50starting pitching, when it really comes down to it, at
- 25:53least guys that I mean, we'll see with a guy like Tanner Hawk,
- 25:56we'll see in terms of consistency whether he can
- 25:59replicate, but. I think he's stud personally.
- 26:03Like how? We'll see.
- 26:04And I and I and I, I hope that's the case.
- 26:06But with Nathan Yavaldi, you, you know what you were getting.
- 26:10And I think even as he's creeping up in age, I think he's
- 26:14still going to be able to go out there and get like when he's on,
- 26:17he, he can give you innings, which like we just weren't, we
- 26:22just weren't really getting from guys.
- 26:23So that's why in addition to the fact that I'm just a fan of his,
- 26:26I, I wanted him back. But alas, signs a three-year
- 26:31deal with the Texas Rangers staying in Texas, his home
- 26:35state, for $75 million will be 35 at the start of this coming
- 26:40season. And I, I, I don't know, I, I
- 26:49don't know what the driving factor is here.
- 26:51Like, I, is it just staying close to home?
- 26:55Is it staying where you're, you're comfortable?
- 26:57Because I feel like there were some, there could have been some
- 27:01suitors out there that would have had you in a better
- 27:03situation, you know, outlook wise in terms of how the the
- 27:08season would go. But.
- 27:10Yeah, I it's hard to say, man. I mean, there's, there's a lot
- 27:15to like about the Rangers. There's a lot that make you
- 27:18have, you know, some questions, you know, the ground coming
- 27:24back, like, you know, how much is that going to uptick their
- 27:30production? Maybe there's some, some pull
- 27:35that that Mike Maddox has. I mean, I still think he's one
- 27:38of the best pitching coaches in the game.
- 27:43You know, it's, it's, it's strange.
- 27:45I, I think the Rangers are in a good place.
- 27:50I think the window is still there as far as the Rangers go.
- 27:53I I think this was a good deal because let's face it, you're,
- 27:57you're not in, in the, you know, now they're gone, but like you
- 28:00weren't in the Blakes now Corbin Burns, Max Freed conversations.
- 28:05You you weren't going to spend that much money.
- 28:07So you know, where else are you going to be pivoting?
- 28:10And do you take your chances with like a Jack Flaherty or, or
- 28:14do you bring back someone you're familiar with and, and Nathan
- 28:17Givaldi? So I, I like that aspect to it.
- 28:22I'm I'm with you. I like native already, man.
- 28:24He's a gamer, he's a dog and I think it's smart.
- 28:29Maybe maybe you're right. I I would guess the only thing I
- 28:33would consider is that maybe the market was not going higher than
- 28:38than two years. Maybe he wasn't seeing that
- 28:41third year and maybe that's what the Rangers, you know, were were
- 28:45able to provide. That's the only thing I can
- 28:47maybe guess. Yeah, that's, that's honestly
- 28:51probably what it ended up being because like you're saying it,
- 28:55if if you're Texas, you're you're not necessarily
- 28:57necessarily linked to a lot of these premier arms.
- 29:03And if if you see an opportunity to bring back a guy that you are
- 29:07comfortable with, like I said, you know what you're going to
- 29:09get from them, just extend them that that third year and chances
- 29:14are you can bring them back. And my guess is that Nathan
- 29:17Yavaldi is a fairly easy guy to work with as long as you you you
- 29:21give him what he feels like he's worth.
- 29:23He's going to he he's going to make it work for you and feel
- 29:28like that's what how it went down.
- 29:29So good for the Rangers for bringing back one of their own,
- 29:34Willie Adamus. It's been a handful of days now,
- 29:39but if you recall, we had the Soto Emergency pod that took up
- 29:45exclusively or took up the entirety I should say, of last
- 29:51episode. So we didn't get a chance to
- 29:52touch base on some of these other deals that are are going
- 29:57to follow here in the next few minutes.
- 29:58But Willie Adamus 7 years, $182,000,000 with $182 million
- 30:05contract with the Giants, their largest contract in franchise
- 30:09history. All right, If I recall, I texted
- 30:17you like pretty shortly after this and I said I'm like the
- 30:21Giants. I like it.
- 30:24It's a it's a strong move. Giants are doing something.
- 30:28For once, they didn't miss out on a guy.
- 30:30Granted, it's not a $300 million guy, but.
- 30:33Yeah, I mean, I, I agree. I, I think Buster Posey coming
- 30:37in and like he immediately getting something done is, is
- 30:40something that's necessary. Like as a fan base, you you
- 30:44can't see that move and then not see any kind of splash in the
- 30:48free agency. So like, I like that.
- 30:51I like that. I mean, I think day one when he
- 30:54came into office, he was like we were getting a shortstop and
- 30:57like we're in the hunt and going and getting him is good.
- 31:01I similar to what I mentioned before, like I, I think there
- 31:06are certain other things they need to do.
- 31:09They need to go, you know, give they need to go get a number two
- 31:13behind, behind Logan Webb. I don't know how they do that,
- 31:18but they need to go get somebody.
- 31:22But I like this. I mean, the defensively shoot
- 31:27left side of the infield is solid.
- 31:31And if you can start bringing in, you know, more guys that fit
- 31:35the Logan Webb conversation of like keeping the ball on the
- 31:38ground, you know, I think that plays, but they got to keep
- 31:45going and I don't know where they spend that money.
- 31:48I obviously, obviously they have plenty of money to spend.
- 31:50You know, obviously they want to they want to get after it.
- 31:53They have been throwing out $300 million offers last few off
- 31:57seasons and it's been, you know, gut punch after gut punch.
- 32:00But I like this. I think.
- 32:03I think the the Willie, the Willie numbers fall a little
- 32:05bit, I should say, is what it is.
- 32:09You know, when you go from Tampa to Milwaukee and then, you know,
- 32:14now to San Francisco, it's like, yeah, a little bit of that
- 32:17offense production is going to change.
- 32:19So. But I like it.
- 32:22I'm I'm a Willie fan. I like the way he plays, I
- 32:26think, yeah, I think I saw he stole a a good number of bags
- 32:29last year. So you know that brings another
- 32:31element to it. I feel like he could have stood
- 32:35the benefit from maybe waiting out the Soto deal just in terms
- 32:40of driving his market up a little bit.
- 32:42But you know, like maybe he's just one of those guys that's
- 32:47happy with with what was presented to him the the offer
- 32:51that was slid across the table, if you will, and you know, 182
- 32:55for seven years like that's. That's solid.
- 32:59Yeah, that's good money. I I'm.
- 33:00OK with that if I'm Willie Adamas, I think.
- 33:02I agree that's good money and security.
- 33:07I think when I saw the deal like the first thing that my mind
- 33:10went and and you probably thoughts on the similar because
- 33:15you had prediction of him going to Atlanta and I was like where
- 33:18are the Braves go now? You know what I mean?
- 33:21Like because I if you're a Braves fan or you're in the
- 33:25chat, let me know. I think the RCS stuff is dead.
- 33:29It's not, it's not it. That's.
- 33:31Not the. That's not the move.
- 33:33Doesn't give that to you and I I really would have liked that
- 33:37fit. I mean, especially in a.
- 33:40Year where you're trying to reassert yourself in that
- 33:43division like the like we'll, we'll chalk up last year to what
- 33:46it was for the Atlanta Braves, but like this year, you got it.
- 33:49You got it, especially with the the soda sweepstakes.
- 33:52Him ended up in in in in in Queens.
- 33:56Like you got to you got to make a splash here and reassert
- 33:59yourself. Sit and let make sure people
- 34:01don't forget about you in that. Right.
- 34:03And I don't know like there's it's Hassan Kim, like that's the
- 34:07only other free agent move that you can really make to plug that
- 34:11hole. Outside of that, you're trading
- 34:14like, I don't know what their farm looks like, but they got to
- 34:20do something and I, I think we got to be patient.
- 34:26I think everyone knows what Alex Anthropolis is capable of.
- 34:30I think there may be some something that he's got hitting
- 34:33up his sleeve that he can do, but they got to make a move,
- 34:35man, like RCA ain't it? I've I've heard things like Beau
- 34:39Bichette, which would be sick, which would be really
- 34:42interesting, you know, kind of a Bilo situation because he didn't
- 34:48have a Goodyear last year. But I don't know if the Blue
- 34:51Jays are willing to to do that. So I don't know.
- 34:56I can't really think of any other names.
- 35:00Maybe you make the the Tigers eat a ton of contract and see if
- 35:04Javi Baez has anything. No, I'm not touching that with a
- 35:0810 foot pole. I don't care.
- 35:10I don't know, man. I don't know.
- 35:12I don't care how much they eat, at a certain point you have to
- 35:14have some self respect and and and maintain some dignity.
- 35:18You know? Javi bias is not.
- 35:20The is not. Where else like there's.
- 35:22No, you're right. That's it's literally house on
- 35:24can. Anyone else?
- 35:24Yeah. I can't think of anyone like
- 35:28Korea, like you're you're going around and you're trying to find
- 35:31shortstops that are maybe up for grabs.
- 35:35And it's tough. It's Slim Pickens.
- 35:38That's why I felt like Adamus had to happen.
- 35:45The Orioles believe that Tyler O'Neill had to happen, having
- 35:49lost out on, or not lost out having let Anthony Santander
- 35:55walk out the door. And I think at this point, we're
- 35:59assuming that Anthony Santander is what ETA on that deal.
- 36:08When do we think, when do we think Santander's that's going
- 36:10down? Because that was obviously
- 36:14another name that had to wait out the whole Soto Yeah
- 36:17situation. Yeah, I don't know.
- 36:18What's tough about Santander is that like you just you look at
- 36:21how much of A liability he is defensively, he's got to get
- 36:27armed. But like, other than that, like
- 36:30a right field in Baltimore is nice, like a right field in, you
- 36:35know, a smaller park. It it plays.
- 36:37But like there's certain places where you just like limited,
- 36:40like the giants getting Santander great, get some bop in
- 36:46that lineup. But like you got to DH them and
- 36:49like, are you willing to spend this much money on a full time
- 36:52DH right now when TA Oscar is still out there?
- 36:57There's also the trade market, like the Cubs coming out and
- 37:00saying like they're willing to move now, the Astros saying like
- 37:03potentially willing to move Kyle Tucker.
- 37:05So like when you're looking at it like is Bellinger say Suzuki,
- 37:09Kyle Tucker, is that a better fit for my organization then a
- 37:14Santander who's going to, you know, maybe play the outfield
- 37:17for another year or two and then move into a full time DH role.
- 37:20And now you have an aging DH and we've seen that movie over and
- 37:25over again. And presumably a sizeable
- 37:27contract on the books because exactly we talked about he's
- 37:29going to come in some dollars here this, this.
- 37:32Office, I think it's going to be late.
- 37:34I I think it's going to be a little while because I fear that
- 37:37his number is probably not getting to where he he wants it
- 37:40to get. And again, like you can
- 37:43potentially, don't get me wrong, the power is great, but like you
- 37:47can potentially piece something together in different ways
- 37:51without forking over that cash. In the aggregate, Shut up
- 37:55Moneyball Tyler O'Neill Getting back to Tyler O'Neill 3 year 49
- 38:00and a half $1,000,000 contract with the O's.
- 38:04I like this deal. Talk to me.
- 38:05I mean, you're more familiar with him from last year, so 31
- 38:10bops last year. It's a good.
- 38:12Yeah, I mean, it's a good, it's a good answer.
- 38:15I'll say to to Santander walking out the door.
- 38:18I mean, it's not, you're not getting quite the same amount of
- 38:23power out of O'Neill when you look at the counting stats, but
- 38:29it's, you could have done far worse.
- 38:32Yeah, I'll, I'll say that. So, and he can, he can, he can
- 38:36play some decent defense. He he loves going all out for
- 38:43some reason in the outfield. So you, you know, you're
- 38:45getting, you're getting Max. Effort left field got brought in
- 38:49a little bit. So yeah, so we'll see.
- 38:56Oh, like it. I like Tyler O'Neill.
- 38:58I think I I kind of like this. What it could, what it could
- 39:03provide to that lineup kind of spaces things out a little bit
- 39:09and maybe this allows them kind of like what I was talking about
- 39:13the Yankees. Like what a sign can do to give
- 39:17you room with your assets to move.
- 39:21And maybe this is when the Orioles finally pull the trigger
- 39:26and move some of this farm some of this.
- 39:28I mean, there's log jams in multiple positions.
- 39:30Like maybe they move on and and plug other holes because of this
- 39:35kind of signing. I'm going to I I still need the
- 39:39Orioles to commit to somebody long term.
- 39:42Like we, we just still. They got to bring back burns, I
- 39:45really do. I don't.
- 39:47I just don't see it at this point.
- 39:48There's two, there's too many other two too many other teams
- 39:51at this point that are too desperate for a frontline guy
- 39:54that are willing going to be willing to overpay and and
- 39:57overspend. Which is something that the
- 39:58Orioles have proven they are not necessarily willing to do right
- 40:01now because they have an embarrassment of riches that
- 40:03they can work with with with trades and and.
- 40:06See, to me that like as as a Red Sox fan, that should make you a
- 40:10little nervous for who's vying for the Mariners staff because
- 40:16like you got to imagine if the Red Sox are a good, a good match
- 40:19for the Mariners. So the Orioles and the Orioles
- 40:23would also like a little bit of rotation help, obviously.
- 40:26So that's a. That's an issue there too.
- 40:33Speaking of making a deal, the Blue Jays and the Guardians made
- 40:41a something made a little something happen.
- 40:42Andres Jimenez headed to the Blue Jays.
- 40:49This is one that I I don't think a lot of people necessarily saw
- 40:52coming. This scene.
- 40:53This sort of got dropped into the mix yesterday when signings
- 40:59have been going down in the last 24 to 48 hours.
- 41:04I like this though. For who?
- 41:10For the Jays. For the Jays, yeah.
- 41:12I mean, it's not it like we talked about you're, if you're
- 41:14the Jays, you I'll, I'll say it again, you were not a serious
- 41:18contender for Juan Soto. I, I, I personally believe that
- 41:21and I stand by that. I don't think you were one of
- 41:23these, these finalists for Juan Soto.
- 41:28And so if, if that's, if that's the case, they were already
- 41:35looking elsewhere like they, they've been looking past Juan
- 41:39Soto for some time. I would have to think and I
- 41:42still think that they should be open to to spending some money,
- 41:49but they they looked internally and saw what they could do with
- 41:53with the trade. So they went out and got
- 41:56Jimenez. But you know, they I'm not going
- 42:02to say no to that defense from the.
- 42:04Chase I I think he's incredible defensively.
- 42:10Watching him do what he does in in the ALDS was was, yeah, was
- 42:14impressive. Excuse me, ALCS, Yeah.
- 42:18I think what makes me nervous is like some of the numbers just
- 42:23kind of gradually going down. He came on the scene in 2022 and
- 42:26I think he was an All Star. He was, he was an All Star in
- 42:292022. You know, 837 OPS, you know, 141
- 42:35OPS plus like a lot of that stuff look good.
- 42:40And then some of these other numbers like start to creep down
- 42:42like, you know, 2023 that OPS dropped to 712.
- 42:46You know, 2024 dropped down to 638 on base percentage has
- 42:52dipped over the last few years as well.
- 42:55Now he's only 25. So you're like, what's, what's
- 42:59the, what's the norm here? Are you the, the 2022 Andres
- 43:03Jimenez or was that a little flash in the pan?
- 43:06And now we've kind of lost things.
- 43:09So it's interesting. It's definitely interesting.
- 43:13I'm curious to see which one they get.
- 43:17But yeah, we'll, we'll see. I I guess.
- 43:20Good, good job doing something I don't know, the Blue Jays need
- 43:23to. I'm so so confused with that
- 43:28organization. Like I said, you should have
- 43:34been like, if if you're serious about this year, if you're
- 43:37serious about trying to maximize this last potential year that
- 43:40you have with Vladi, you should have been ready to fire from the
- 43:45hip. And in fact, you should have
- 43:48been making that. You should have been making
- 43:49moves before the Soto deal went down because now the price is
- 43:53only going to go up on certain guys.
- 43:55But they're I don't I don't know what they're necessarily waiting
- 44:01for because there's still some guys I think that they could add
- 44:03that would make sense or or improve their chances of of
- 44:08succeeding this year. Again, with flatty, possibly
- 44:10with his being as last year, but at again, a lot of what the Blue
- 44:14Jays do confused me at times. So I'm not going to necessarily
- 44:19question it, but. Yeah, whatever.
- 44:23Decent move though. Shane Bieber.
- 44:27This one bummed me out a little bit.
- 44:29I don't know, is it just me? Oh, I'm with you.
- 44:33I was kind of ready to see him go throw on some new threads and
- 44:36like and dice and just have like a little revenge tour in a way.
- 44:43I don't know, I think there's still something in there.
- 44:46Oh yeah. And that's, I mean, you have to
- 44:49assume that's what the whole one year's back got and go out and
- 44:52show the league what you what it is that you still do have or
- 44:56still believe that you have. Yeah, Here's what I'm bummed out
- 44:59about is like, if you're going to take a one year deal to go
- 45:03back home, you got to assume that that offer was going to be
- 45:05on the table for a little while. You couldn't go another few
- 45:09weeks to see what else was out there.
- 45:12Like you're telling me there's no other like similar to how
- 45:16when the soda ball drops and other teams start making other
- 45:20moves and pivoting, you got to assume that something's going to
- 45:23happen around the burns around the freed move.
- 45:26So like, if those guys start to, to sign and commit to places,
- 45:31why not wait out to see what these other other teams are
- 45:35going to do from there, how they're going to pivot?
- 45:38And I don't know, man. I mean, maybe he's in love with
- 45:42Cleveland. Maybe he wants to stay home, but
- 45:44I, there's always other circumstances or factors into
- 45:47the circumstance. But I just to me, like I, I do
- 45:51think that there's a ton of upside there.
- 45:53I think there's a lot of teams that see that and I would have
- 45:58maybe waited it out. I don't know, I would have I
- 46:01would have seen because like now, if if you go out and
- 46:05struggle or if God forbid, you get hurt again in some kind of
- 46:09way and you don't make at least 2728 starts this year, like
- 46:14you're in trouble. This is this is real trouble.
- 46:18But you can't tell me that there wasn't a team out there maybe
- 46:21saying, you know, here's a three-year deal for 40 mil, 45
- 46:27mil. I think I could have been out
- 46:29there. Sure, but if you're coming off
- 46:30elbow surgery like he is and and you're, you're and your mind,
- 46:34you're setting yourself up for a prove it deal, Where do you want
- 46:37that to happen? You want it to happen where
- 46:39you're comfortable. Where are you comfortable?
- 46:41Who with the people you've been working with, with the people
- 46:43you've been rehabbing with and and the people you've been
- 46:47around for, for some time that's.
- 46:49Part of it, too, is the rehabbing process.
- 46:51It's definitely a part of it. You got to stay with the people
- 46:53that have been helping you. So I get it.
- 46:56I. And he seems like, I mean, I
- 46:58don't know the guy from Adam, but he seems like a pretty down
- 47:01to earth guy. So I would have to think that
- 47:02that that the the the people aspect.
- 47:05It's hard to tell. It's hard to tell.
- 47:07I feel like Cleveland just just grooms robots, but he seems like
- 47:12a Kluber 2 point O to me. Couple more smiles.
- 47:17He's got a little more dog in him, I think.
- 47:19Thanks. Kluber's very much a robot for
- 47:21sure. Yeah.
- 47:22But we're sure. And lastly here, Clay Holmes.
- 47:28Yes, it's it's been some days now.
- 47:30But we didn't get. Didn't get a chance to talk
- 47:32about a three-year, $38 million deal with an opt out after the
- 47:34second year. And as I mentioned, Mets plan to
- 47:38make him a starter, so. Yeah.
- 47:41And this was obviously before the SODO news, so this was.
- 47:45Yeah, just another, another. I think it's interesting.
- 47:49I think it's, I mean, like I there are flashes where we all
- 47:53know this, like he could have the nastiest pitch in baseball
- 47:59when that sinker is going right, Like it can be one of the best
- 48:04pitches in baseball. It's it's interesting that they
- 48:10want to move into the rotation. You know, I always had issues
- 48:15when Boone would bring him in with guys on, when he would
- 48:17bring him in, you know, trying to finish out the 8th and
- 48:20potentially cover the 9th for a save.
- 48:22Like that's that's a problem thing for him coming in with
- 48:25guys on base because it's weird, man.
- 48:29Like his stuff is so nasty that he gives up almost too soft of
- 48:33contact. You're going to see a lot of
- 48:35infield hits, you're going to see a lot of bloops, like a lot
- 48:39of weird things, broken bat singles that end up kind of
- 48:43coming back to to bite him a little bit, which is hard
- 48:45because it's like that's what you're supposed to do as a
- 48:47pitcher. So it's really hard to like be
- 48:51too critical of Clay Holmes because at times, like a lot of
- 48:55those, a lot of those times where he struggles or gives up
- 48:58runs or blows saves or holds or whatever, you're like, Dang,
- 49:02dude, like you weren't even looking that bad, but you had
- 49:05one walk and an infield single and then all of a sudden it's
- 49:08unfold time, so. Wheels fall off, Yeah.
- 49:11Yeah. So I mean, I'm interested to see
- 49:14if he can learn a third pitch and and start to implement that
- 49:16more. We saw that a little bit because
- 49:20he likes to go sinker. That has that really downward
- 49:22action 2 seam has the really flat inward action towards
- 49:25righties and then a a pretty nasty curveball.
- 49:30Maybe a change up gets thrown into the mix.
- 49:32I don't know what the Mets plan on doing, but if it works out,
- 49:35they could be a genius. This could be very smart, but I
- 49:40don't know, like prior if this if the Mets didn't get Sodo,
- 49:44this was like a typical little brother Mets move in my mind.
- 49:49And they've done it a bunch of times like Severino Bader,
- 49:52you're just like, OK, like you're just you eventually got
- 49:55to be not the the little brother and then Soto happened.
- 49:58That's. Richest athletic ever.
- 50:01Louis Severino to you. My bad.
- 50:03You didn't say Oakland. Good for you.
- 50:06I was very I. I was a conscious.
- 50:08Yeah, good for you all. Right.
- 50:11I think that's it on personnel. Is that correct?
- 50:13Nailed it, nailed it. Nothing happened.
- 50:16Man, should we stall? We still.
- 50:20Got we still got, we still got something we got to get to.
- 50:23Yo, something something. There it is.
- 50:53Freaking love it. Freaking love it.
- 50:56Whose quote was this? This was from episode 42.
- 51:02Oh, no back. Deep in the archives.
- 51:06Back in February, February of 2019.
- 51:11Whoa. The quote, and this was in
- 51:16reference to Nolan Arenado, who I believe at the time had just
- 51:21signed, had just signed. The deal with the Rockies?
- 51:25No. No, no.
- 51:26But this was the, I want to say the one year R or the 11 year
- 51:32deal. Let's see.
- 51:34To avoid avoid arbitration. I believe it was like for 2020
- 51:40something mil. This was it back in February of
- 51:472019. Think it was a two year
- 51:53extension that waved. No, it was a one year.
- 51:57Yeah, you're right. 2019, one year, 26 mil.
- 52:01Yeah. Good memory Sir.
- 52:04The quotes. I think Colorado would be dumb
- 52:08not to offer him a Max contract, but I don't know if he stays.
- 52:12Like we've talked about how much you and I in kind of the old
- 52:15school ways, really appreciate those guys that are or that just
- 52:18stick around with their single franchise their whole career.
- 52:21I think it would be great for his legacy, but I don't think he
- 52:24sticks around. I mean, we both feel so similar
- 52:33about that. It's, it's tough to say.
- 52:36I'll say me just 'cause I was in, you know, I was familiar
- 52:39with Denver and familiar with Arenado's game.
- 52:43Correct. All.
- 52:45Right. No, the only I I wanted to
- 52:49honestly, with these first two quotes that I've gone with as as
- 52:52part of this little segment we've got going, I wanted, I
- 52:54just wanted to go with it, given that it was somewhat timely,
- 53:00given that Nolan's name has been floated around and again linked
- 53:03to Boston. And you know, I, I still, I
- 53:13still believe that I, I still, I still feel strongly about guys
- 53:18that stick with a franchise their entire careers.
- 53:22But with the way that Nolan's career has, has panned out, I
- 53:29don't think that was ever going to be an option for him 'cause
- 53:33he just, he just hasn't been able to figure out a place to
- 53:39call home. And it, and it go well, like
- 53:42there, if you remember the way, the way it ended in Colorado,
- 53:45very much a bad blood situation, it seemed.
- 53:48Oh. Yeah.
- 53:49And now with with Saint Louis, I think there's you can make the
- 53:54argument a number of Cardinals fans that are looking to shed
- 53:57this quote UN quote dead weight because he had a down year
- 54:03offensively last year. It's one of the best defenders
- 54:06in the league. But I guess that's not good
- 54:07enough. I don't know.
- 54:08But yeah, was never going to be a guy that was going to stick
- 54:13around with a franchise in his entire.
- 54:15Career. Yeah.
- 54:16And it's too bad because like, that's why he signed the
- 54:19contract in in Colorado. Like that's why he accepted that
- 54:23structure of that and for the Rockies to shop him the very
- 54:27next year after that is is, you know, kind of a slap in the face
- 54:30and you didn't like it. Yeah, I'd like to see him get
- 54:33back to form. I'm definitely a pro arnotto
- 54:36guy. Just looking at this contract is
- 54:38insane. Said to be a free agent 2028.
- 54:45He'll be age 37 at that point. Next year it will make 21
- 54:51million. It'll fall to 16, then 15 after
- 54:55that ton of deferred money. He's going to make 2 million a
- 55:00year from 2022 all the way to 2031, and then from 2032 to 2041
- 55:10he's going to make 3 million a year in deferred money.
- 55:15I'm not overly familiar with how money can be moved or changed
- 55:20when it's deferred. I don't know if it stays with
- 55:25the team. I don't know why.
- 55:26I just don't know how any of that stuff works.
- 55:28But I think there's more in them.
- 55:33I think there's something in there.
- 55:37Maybe you don't get the the crazy numbers that you used to
- 55:40get, but the defense plays man defense.
- 55:45My goodness, I want to see it. I want to see it somewhere.
- 55:50It's it's growing on me for sure.
- 55:52Like bring Nolan, trade for Nolan, Bump, bump Rafi to the DH
- 55:58spot because he's going to end up there anyway.
- 56:00So why not just get a head start?
- 56:02Yeah. And like I said, I mean, we
- 56:06don't have to go back down the Red Sox route, but, you know, go
- 56:08out and get another frontline guy and I'd be happy.
- 56:11I'd be happy with that. Yeah, Yanks have been lead kind
- 56:14of leaked to him as well and and Astra has been linked to him as
- 56:18well. So it I think it really like the
- 56:22the Arenado domino falls shortly after the Bregman domino falls.
- 56:27So I would agree it'll be it'll be interesting.
- 56:34But yeah, I think it's time to go and we go.
- 56:37Wouldn't be surprised if Goldie gets moved as well.
- 56:41True, true. I.
- 56:43Think the Cardinals might as well just really kind of flip it
- 56:46on its head at this point. Yeah, yeah.
- 56:51Maybe the Christian Walker domino has the effect on the
- 56:56Paul Goldschmidt domino. There's a lot to this.
- 57:00A lot of Domino's. I like Domino's.
- 57:02Yeah. Both both the game and the
- 57:05pizza. There you go.
- 57:07Well, not as much anymore, which we talked about in our last.
- 57:12Still gets. Three hour change up.
- 57:14Yeah, bonus pod if in case you missed it.
- 57:17That's all I got unless you got anything else.
- 57:19Nope, Nope, jam packed, got it all in.
- 57:22Hopefully something happens. I'm sure something will happen
- 57:24in the next hour or two. That's how it goes.
- 57:26It's only 9:00 on the on the where are they?
- 57:31Where's the winter meetings? Dallas.
- 57:36Oh, only 8:00. There's still plenty of business
- 57:41to happen. We're going to have something
- 57:44tonight. I already know it.
- 57:45Dang it. Oh well, good stuff.
- 57:49Love you, everybody. Don't go chasing curveballs.
- 57:52Love you all, and as always, looking forward to talking more
- 57:54baseball with you guys soon. Until next time, stay filthy.
