- 0:03Speaker 1: And there's Dan Lanning out there because no one can
- 0:05Speaker 1: yell at him. There is Lanning out on the field,
- 0:08Speaker 1: not focused on the opponent, not focused on his team,
- 0:11Speaker 1: not focused on the game. He is focused on making
- 0:13Speaker 1: Pat McAfee laugh.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Enough.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Terrible. Terrible job by Lanning.
- 0:20Speaker 3: Dan Lanning is the Nick Saban of Mike Norvell's.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Who the hell is Dan Lanning?
- 0:24Speaker 3: Could at least give us Ben Johnson might be the
- 0:26Speaker 3: greatest coach ever.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Uh, no.
- 0:30Speaker 3: Knock if you agree with me.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Give me the frozen dungeon.
- 0:33Speaker 3: I know we're doing overreaction Mondays.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Right.
- 0:35Speaker 3: I would still be surprised. And it's Tuesday.
- 0:38Speaker 1: You got nothing right there.
- 0:39Speaker 3: It's time to get your pint.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Tomato, tomato.
- 0:43Speaker 3: There is no worse surprise than surprise Gouda.
- 0:46Speaker 1: I felt so bad for Arch Manning playing so poorly.
- 0:48Speaker 1: I was saying to myself, he doesn't have it. He's
- 0:51Speaker 1: not a Manning.
- 0:51Speaker 3: Everyone is a fraud.
- 0:53Speaker 1: This is Steve Spurrier, former Gator head ball coach. And
- 0:57Speaker 1: you've been listening to Stugatz and Company.
- 0:59Speaker 4: Everyone is a fraud.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Surprise Gouda.
- 1:03Speaker 1: It is Stugatz and Company presented by FanDuel and the
- 1:06Speaker 1: FanDuel Sportsbook. Big college football weekend coming up. Week two
- 1:10Speaker 1: in the NFL as well. Booger McFarlane going to join
- 1:13Speaker 1: us in about five, six minutes here. What did you
- 1:15Speaker 1: guys make of the report late last night? We'll talk
- 1:18Speaker 1: to Booger about this. about Sam Levitt, the LSU quarterback.
- 1:21Speaker 1: He is suddenly doubtful for the biggest game of the year,
- 1:25Speaker 1: LSU at Mississippi. I'm not buying it at all. What
- 1:28Speaker 1: do you guys think?
- 1:29Speaker 3: I think it would be believable if it was anybody
- 1:32Speaker 3: but Lane Kiffin putting.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Out the injury report.
- 1:35Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:35Speaker 1: I don't want to do this to Sam Levitt. It's
- 1:37Speaker 1: not fair. Maybe he is injured. I hope he's okay.
- 1:40Speaker 1: It's just the messenger is not great on this. And
- 1:42Speaker 1: the messenger, in this case, is Lane Kiffin. Right.
- 1:45Speaker 2: It seems like these two teams are trading being more
- 1:49Speaker 2: petty than the other one off and on. And this
- 1:52Speaker 2: feels like one of those, you know what? Maybe our
- 1:54Speaker 2: quarterback doesn't play. You don't know. You don't know what's
- 1:57Speaker 2: going to happen.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Yes, but then Pete Thamel had one of the great
- 1:59Speaker 1: reports in the history of sports media where he reported
- 2:03Speaker 1: that not a single member of the Mississippi coaching staff
- 2:06Speaker 1: believes that Sam Leavitt is doubtful. This does have the
- 2:11Speaker 1: element of doubt.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Lane being Lane Kiffin, because this is something that like
- 2:16Speaker 3: nobody in Ole Miss thinks he's doing this because they've
- 2:19Speaker 3: seen Lane Kiffin.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Do this before.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Two years ago, he listed 26 players, either doubtful, questionable
- 2:26Speaker 3: or probable for a game. 24 of the 26 played
- 2:30Speaker 3: in the game. Played the entire game.
- 2:32Speaker 4: Yes.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Theatrics. I love it. Mind game. Mikey, you're laughing at
- 2:37Speaker 1: that Pete Thamel report. It's a great report by him, right?
- 2:40Speaker 2: It's a fantastic report because he's trying to be petty
- 2:43Speaker 2: and play these mind games, and Ole Miss is like, no,
- 2:45Speaker 2: you're not getting us.
- 2:46Speaker 1: No, no.
- 2:48Speaker 2: But you know what's going to happen is– Sam Levitt's
- 2:50Speaker 2: going to I'm I'm I'm assuming Sam Levitt's going to
- 2:54Speaker 2: play and then Ole Miss is going to file some
- 2:56Speaker 2: court document about how Lane Kiffin purposefully did all this.
- 3:02Speaker 2: And they're just going to keep trading these petty shots
- 3:04Speaker 2: at each other. And I love it. I'm I'm here
- 3:07Speaker 2: for petty.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I wish they played every week.
- 3:11Speaker 3: So the SEC does give out fines if you lie
- 3:14Speaker 3: on the injury report. It's schools who don't provide accurate
- 3:18Speaker 3: and timely availability of reports will face potential penalties ranging
- 3:21Speaker 3: from $ 25, 000 for a first offense to $ 100, 000 for a
- 3:23Speaker 3: third and further offenses in football. That's nothing to Lane Kiffin.
- 3:31Speaker 3: Lane Kiffin probably has a $ 500, 000 bonus tied to this
- 3:35Speaker 3: game if he beats Ole Miss.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Taylor, he has an entire state backing him up. An
- 3:40Speaker 1: entire state. The top. From the top on down. Every
- 3:44Speaker 1: single person is behind Lane Kiffin. It's crazy.
- 3:47Speaker 3: You know how when you see the Pope going through
- 3:49Speaker 3: the street sometimes, he's in bulletproof glass?
- 3:53Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:53Speaker 3: I think that's I think Lane Kiffin needs the Lane-mobile
- 3:57Speaker 3: when he goes to Oxford, Mississippi.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Wait, so you want him in some sort of Pope-mobile.
- 4:02Speaker 1: It's bulletproof glass.
- 4:03Speaker 2: It's a bubble. It's a little golf cart with a bubble.
- 4:12Speaker 3: Lane Kiffin has to coach this game like he's Bubble
- 4:14Speaker 3: Boy this upcoming week. Because I'm getting to the point
- 4:18Speaker 3: where I am starting to get a little concerned. with
- 4:21Speaker 3: how much this game is ramping up the intensity.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Yeah, it's crazy. So the thing that they transport the
- 4:28Speaker 1: Pope in, right? Usually it has, like, there's four people
- 4:31Speaker 1: carrying it, right? Are you thinking, like, Booger McFarlane, Glenn Dorsey? Like,
- 4:35Speaker 1: there should be former LSU players carrying it into the game?
- 4:39Speaker 1: It's a car.
- 4:40Speaker 3: So I think you're confusing it with things like Roman
- 4:43Speaker 3: empires were carried on.
- 4:45Speaker 2: I think you're in the wrong millennium, maybe. Century, definitely.
- 4:49Speaker 2: But I think you're in the wrong millennium.
- 4:51Speaker 1: As to what we're talking about. I've seen the Pope
- 4:53Speaker 1: in one of those glass cases where people are carrying
- 4:55Speaker 1: him around. He's the Pope.
- 4:57Speaker 2: It was in a painting by da Vinci.
- 4:59Speaker 3: The Popemobile is an actual car that people are just
- 5:03Speaker 3: driving around.
- 5:04Speaker 4: Right.
- 5:04Speaker 3: So we need a driver for this car.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Is there any bulletproof glass associated with it? Do we know? Yes.
- 5:12Speaker 2: I mean, I don't think there was back in the
- 5:13Speaker 2: day when people were carrying it on their shoulder because,
- 5:16Speaker 2: you know, there wasn't bullets.
- 5:17Speaker 1: But my time's mixed up.
- 5:21Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Who is driving the poke mobile for Lane Gibbon? Who
- 5:28Speaker 1: would you want driving it in? Burrow? Well, he's hurt.
- 5:34Speaker 2: I mean, again, first off, first off, Burrow gets his
- 5:36Speaker 2: own car. Okay, that's not disrespect Joe Burrow at LSU. No,
- 5:41Speaker 2: it's got to be some staffer. It's got to be
- 5:44Speaker 2: some kid who thinks he's, yeah.
- 5:47Speaker 1: It's amazing, Mikey. You'll laugh at this. Lane Kiffin, he
- 5:50Speaker 1: still does the local radio show. He does a weekly
- 5:55Speaker 1: local radio show where he takes phone calls from LSU fans.
- 5:59Speaker 1: And he does it every Thursday night. We used to
- 6:01Speaker 1: do this with Nick Saban back in the day when
- 6:03Speaker 1: he was the head coach of the Dolphins and our
- 6:05Speaker 1: station had the rights. to the Dolphins. Saban would show up.
- 6:10Speaker 1: I can't remember the name of the place. I think
- 6:12Speaker 1: it was Wednesday or Thursday. Place was packed. We were
- 6:16Speaker 1: the flagship radio station for the Dolphins. He would take
- 6:18Speaker 1: phone calls. That was 25 years ago, it felt like.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Lane Given is still doing it, okay? And so I
- 6:26Speaker 1: think that he kind of put it out there. Lane
- 6:28Speaker 1: is all about Lane and all about creating ratings. I
- 6:31Speaker 1: think Lane wanted to drive ratings for his radio show tonight. Therefore,
- 6:35Speaker 1: he released that report last night So everyone would be
- 6:38Speaker 1: glued and tuned into his radio show tonight because tonight, Mikey,
- 6:41Speaker 1: on the radio show, he re-releases the injury report. How
- 6:45Speaker 1: about that?
- 6:46Speaker 2: You think he gets a cut of the ratings?
- 6:47Speaker 1: He updates it. Oh, I think he does, yes. You
- 6:49Speaker 1: think he's doing that for free? Lane Kiffin doesn't take
- 6:53Speaker 1: a step for free, man. Put it on the poll.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Does Lane Kiffin take one step without getting paid for it?
- 7:00Speaker 1: Booger McFarlane, next. College football fans, it's time to prove

- 8:33Speaker 1: What a great time. What a great day to have
- 8:35Speaker 1: our friend Booger McFarlane on. You'll see him all over
- 8:37Speaker 1: your television on ABC, ESPN with Kevin Negande. He does
- 8:41Speaker 1: a great job. They should give you a week off, Booger.
- 8:43Speaker 1: I mean, they really should. For this game, you should
- 8:45Speaker 1: get a week off just to enjoy the game, you know?
- 8:48Speaker 4: No, you know what?
- 8:49Speaker 5: I enjoy games the way fans do, which is watching
- 8:52Speaker 5: on television where I can see everything. You know, I
- 8:56Speaker 5: grew up playing football, so I've never been a tailgater.
- 8:59Speaker 5: I'm not a big drinker. So going to games just
- 9:02Speaker 5: to stand in lines and be hot, like what the
- 9:03Speaker 5: hell is that for? I'd rather watch it in the
- 9:05Speaker 5: comfort of a studio or my own home, food in hand,
- 9:09Speaker 5: AC blowing on.
- 9:11Speaker 4: Me and relaxing. That's a football Saturday.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Something tells me if you do go to a game, though, Booger,
- 9:17Speaker 1: you're not waiting in line for anything. I mean, you're Booger, right?
- 9:22Speaker 5: Well, I mean, at some point, I mean, you got
- 9:23Speaker 5: to get out of your mode of transportation to get
- 9:25Speaker 5: to the stadium. It's just way too much. Like you
- 9:28Speaker 5: got to walk somewhere. You got to go up an
- 9:30Speaker 5: elevator to get to a box or a seat or whatever. Again,
- 9:34Speaker 5: when I can roll from my hotel room, go to
- 9:37Speaker 5: the studio, and I got 12 TVs in front of
- 9:40Speaker 5: me on ABC, like that's a pretty good life.
- 9:43Speaker 4: You know?
- 9:44Speaker 1: Yeah, it really is. I'm jealous. I'd like to sit
- 9:48Speaker 1: there with you one day if I could, you know?
- 9:51Speaker 4: You're more than welcome, buddy.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Yes. Wow. That is amazing. Ask Nagandi how he feels
- 9:57Speaker 1: about it. We'll see.
- 9:58Speaker 4: I'll pass that message.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Scale of one to 10. How much do you believe
- 10:05Speaker 1: the injury report as it relates to Sam Levitt?
- 10:08Speaker 4: You know what?
- 10:09Speaker 5: I woke up this morning and saw that. It doesn't
- 10:12Speaker 5: say he's not playing. It just says he's doubtful. So
- 10:15Speaker 5: I honestly have no idea. Like the, The range of
- 10:18Speaker 5: emotions and the range of back and forth between LSU
- 10:22Speaker 5: and Ole Miss is something I'm not accustomed to dealing with.
- 10:27Speaker 5: I can't wait till Toad Meets Leather on Saturday night
- 10:29Speaker 5: about 7.49 Eastern so then we can play some football
- 10:33Speaker 5: because they're.
- 10:34Speaker 4: Pissed off that Lane left.
- 10:36Speaker 5: LSU people are pissed off that Ole Miss people can't
- 10:38Speaker 5: get over and Ole Miss wants to make LSU this
- 10:41Speaker 5: number one rival.
- 10:42Speaker 4: And it's so much piss and vinegar. And it's mainly
- 10:45Speaker 4: from them. And I get it.
- 10:47Speaker 5: Because they were the girl that was left for the
- 10:50Speaker 5: new girl. And so all the emotion and all the
- 10:53Speaker 5: piss and vinegar is coming from them.
- 10:54Speaker 4: And I get it.
- 10:55Speaker 5: And I understand it. But I think Lane said it
- 10:57Speaker 5: the best. He's not going to throw a touchdown. Pete's
- 11:00Speaker 5: not going to make a tackle. But this is something
- 11:04Speaker 5: that the fans are going to latch on to. And
- 11:06Speaker 5: rightfully so. So I hope everybody has a good time.
- 11:09Speaker 5: I hope it's fun and safe down in Oxford. And
- 11:12Speaker 5: I think the team that runs the football the best
- 11:14Speaker 5: is going to win on Saturday.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Booger, the last time Lane Kiffin had to replace a
- 11:18Speaker 3: quarterback due to injury, Austin Simmons gets replaced by a
- 11:21Speaker 3: Heisman candidate in Trinidad Chambliss.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Is there any.
- 11:24Speaker 3: Situation where LSU might have somebody better than Sam Levitt
- 11:28Speaker 3: behind him.
- 11:29Speaker 4: Man, I've got no, like we're three games into the season.
- 11:33Speaker 4: I have no idea. I know you got Landon Clark,
- 11:36Speaker 4: you got Hussein Longstreet.
- 11:37Speaker 5: Like I don't, I don't, I mean, I've heard of
- 11:39Speaker 5: these guys.
- 11:40Speaker 4: I've seen them play at other places. It's a different
- 11:43Speaker 4: level in the SEC.
- 11:44Speaker 5: You know, all these conspiracy theories out there and everybody's
- 11:49Speaker 5: trying to draw parallels in this day and age. I
- 11:51Speaker 5: just know this, this is what I kind of, rest
- 11:54Speaker 5: my solace on with Lane Kiffin. Lane is a really
- 11:56Speaker 5: good football coach. Charlie Weiss is a really good offensive coordinator.
- 12:00Speaker 5: Blake Baker is a really good defensive coordinator. LSU's got
- 12:03Speaker 5: a really good roster. That's kind of what I deal with.
- 12:07Speaker 5: I don't think this is a day and age. There
- 12:09Speaker 5: were times in the past when I wasn't very sure
- 12:13Speaker 5: of the LSU coach, and I felt like I needed
- 12:16Speaker 5: to worry and micromanage and make calls and do all that.
- 12:19Speaker 5: I don't need to do that now. I just talk
- 12:21Speaker 5: about the game. I show up on Saturdays. And I watched, man.
- 12:24Speaker 5: So who knows what these guys are? I don't think
- 12:28Speaker 5: anybody knows. Like, I haven't seen Hussain Longstreet since high school.
- 12:31Speaker 5: Hadn't seen Landon Clarkson's Elon. Like, nobody knows what these
- 12:34Speaker 5: dudes are, man.
- 12:34Speaker 4: So we'll see.
- 12:36Speaker 1: I'm reporting Sam Leavitt is playing. Lane Kiffin has a
- 12:38Speaker 1: local radio show in Baton Rouge tonight. He's going to
- 12:41Speaker 1: do the injury report again. He's going to announce it
- 12:43Speaker 1: there that Sam Leavitt is fine. He's doing this. It's
- 12:45Speaker 1: all theatrics. That's all. I don't mind that, by the way.
- 12:47Speaker 1: I think he's great for college football, Booger.
- 12:49Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, listen, Lane is a personality. And I
- 12:53Speaker 5: think in this day and age, especially this particular week,
- 12:56Speaker 5: with everything going on between LSU and Ole Miss, anything
- 12:59Speaker 5: he says is going to receive a heightened level of sensitivity.
- 13:04Speaker 5: These type of weeks really, and I get it, it's huge.
- 13:08Speaker 5: It's the biggest game in the sport. But if you
- 13:10Speaker 5: go back to the first week of the season against Clemson,
- 13:12Speaker 5: it was the same thing and distraction and all this here.
- 13:16Speaker 5: And LSU showed up and they played really well. They
- 13:20Speaker 5: didn't allow the distractions. The better team won. I think
- 13:23Speaker 5: it's going to be the same thing this week. Like
- 13:25Speaker 5: the Ole Miss AD serving the LSU defensive end a
- 13:30Speaker 5: lawsuit paper in the parking lot this week.
- 13:33Speaker 4: Yes. Like, come on. And the Ole Miss people say
- 13:37Speaker 4: LSU's petty.
- 13:38Speaker 5: So that's what I mean by the level of pettiness
- 13:40Speaker 5: on both sides that makes me really, really yearn for
- 13:45Speaker 5: totem meat leather on Saturday night.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Who's it a bigger game for? Who needs to win
- 13:49Speaker 1: this game more? I feel like it's Mississippi, because if
- 13:52Speaker 1: LSU gets you a first year with Lane on your
- 13:55Speaker 1: home field with Trinidad at quarterback, That's not going to
- 13:59Speaker 1: be good for Mississippi. I feel like Mississippi needs it more.
- 14:01Speaker 1: What do you think?
- 14:01Speaker 4: I mean, the whole need it more thing, here's what
- 14:03Speaker 4: I'll say about that.
- 14:05Speaker 5: I think that Ole Miss has always looked at LSU
- 14:08Speaker 5: as their biggest rival. LSU doesn't look at Ole Miss
- 14:11Speaker 5: as the biggest rival. Ole Miss is pissed off because
- 14:14Speaker 5: they're the girl they got left. And so I think
- 14:16Speaker 5: naturally this game is bigger for them But it's big
- 14:20Speaker 5: for both teams. It's a nine game SEC schedule, man.
- 14:23Speaker 5: Like at some point you got to line them up
- 14:24Speaker 5: and play them. And LSU's got Texas A & M
- 14:27Speaker 5: at home next week. Ole Miss has got to go
- 14:28Speaker 5: to Florida. Like it doesn't get any easier in this conference, man.
- 14:31Speaker 5: So you got to get wins every week you can.
- 14:36Speaker 5: I think both teams need it. I think I wouldn't
- 14:38Speaker 5: go who needs it more. I would just say, I
- 14:40Speaker 5: think this game, if you were to ask the Ole
- 14:42Speaker 5: Miss people, if you could beat us and go five
- 14:46Speaker 5: and five the rest of the year.
- 14:47Speaker 1: They take it.
- 14:48Speaker 4: They'd take it. LSU people wouldn't take that. Right.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Well, you're such an even-keeled guy, but is this a
- 14:54Speaker 2: game that you're getting up for? Since you've left LSU,
- 14:58Speaker 2: is this one of the top games that you can
- 15:00Speaker 2: remember looking forward to for LSU?
- 15:04Speaker 5: It's always the next one, buddy. I was looking forward
- 15:06Speaker 5: to the Clemson game. To me, it's this game. And
- 15:10Speaker 5: then as soon as Sunday morning hits, I'm thinking about
- 15:13Speaker 5: Texas A & M.
- 15:13Speaker 4: I'm like.
- 15:14Speaker 5: It's the SEC, man. Like, no one game in this conference. Like,
- 15:17Speaker 5: there's some games that are bigger, man.
- 15:19Speaker 4: But, like, we got bigger fish to fry every week.
- 15:22Speaker 4: It's A & M.
- 15:23Speaker 5: After A & M, then you got down the road.
- 15:25Speaker 5: You got Alabama and Texas in back-to-back weeks. Like, it's
- 15:29Speaker 5: the Southeastern Conference, man. So, I really got up for
- 15:33Speaker 5: the first game because it was Lane's first game. Nobody
- 15:36Speaker 5: knew what to expect. But now that we're in the
- 15:39Speaker 5: SEC play, man, it's week after week after week. And
- 15:42Speaker 5: they just keep coming.
- 15:43Speaker 1: What Booger is saying is this is Mississippi Super Bowl. OK,
- 15:47Speaker 1: this is their national championship game. And for LSU, it's
- 15:49Speaker 1: just another game. Is that fair?
- 15:52Speaker 5: I would say that this is a bigger game for
- 15:55Speaker 5: the people in Mississippi based on how the coach left
- 15:58Speaker 5: and went somewhere else for us. It is one of
- 16:00Speaker 5: nine in the SEC. Do we want it more? Do
- 16:04Speaker 5: we want it?
- 16:05Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 16:06Speaker 5: Is it going to be life or death if we
- 16:08Speaker 5: don't get it somehow, some way? No, because guess what?
- 16:11Speaker 5: Texas A & M, we got them next week, and
- 16:13Speaker 5: they came to Baton Rouge and embarrassed us last year,
- 16:15Speaker 5: so there we go. It just keeps rolling over and
- 16:18Speaker 5: over in this conference. It's not going to be– we're
- 16:21Speaker 5: not going to storm the field or party if you
- 16:23Speaker 5: beat Ole Miss.
- 16:24Speaker 4: That's not how this works in the SEC, man.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Booger, this week in Tallahassee, FSU fired their AD. There
- 16:30Speaker 3: was a viral post of moving trucks outside Mike Norvell's house.
- 16:33Speaker 3: Mike Norvell said it was just for a desk delivery
- 16:36Speaker 3: for his daughter, but it seemed like there were a
- 16:38Speaker 3: lot of boxes there for just one desk. They have
- 16:41Speaker 3: Alabama this week. What do you think the chances are
- 16:44Speaker 3: Mike Norvell's FSU's coach this time next week?
- 16:48Speaker 4: I think vastly, 100%.
- 16:51Speaker 5: They're not going to fire Mike Norvell after week three, guys. Like,
- 16:56Speaker 5: the internet, I get all that, and you fire the AD,
- 16:58Speaker 5: but here's what you also got to look at. The
- 17:00Speaker 5: guy that they appointed the interim AD is a good
- 17:03Speaker 5: friend of Mike Norvell's. So, like, just kind of read
- 17:06Speaker 5: the tea leaves. They're not going to fire him now. Now,
- 17:09Speaker 5: if they got beat 70 to nothing, maybe, but I
- 17:12Speaker 5: doubt that's going to happen. Mike Norvell is going to
- 17:14Speaker 5: get an opportunity through the ACC to earn this and
- 17:17Speaker 5: keep this job. I don't think they're going to fire
- 17:20Speaker 5: him right now. He is definitely the coach who is
- 17:22Speaker 5: on the hottest seat, but he does.
- 17:25Speaker 4: Have plenty of.
- 17:27Speaker 5: Runway to kind of save his job, but he's got
- 17:30Speaker 5: to go out and get it done. But I don't
- 17:31Speaker 5: think anything right now. I think Florida State is trying
- 17:33Speaker 5: to get their ducks in a row from the athletic standpoint.
- 17:36Speaker 5: They're a school that makes no qualms about it.
- 17:39Speaker 4: They need money.
- 17:40Speaker 5: They're trying to figure out a way in this new
- 17:42Speaker 5: landscape how to be competitive with their money. They don't
- 17:45Speaker 5: want to pay $ 54 million to buy Mike Norvell out.
- 17:47Speaker 5: So when you look at all that, they're not about
- 17:50Speaker 5: to fire him right now because the moment they fire him,
- 17:52Speaker 5: not only do you have to pay him $ 54 million,
- 17:53Speaker 5: you've got to pay the staff off. Then you've got
- 17:55Speaker 5: to get ready to get a new coach. And on
- 17:57Speaker 5: top of that, you've got to get a new roster.
- 18:00Speaker 5: So when you fire a coach and change the roster over,
- 18:04Speaker 5: I mean, 54, another 10 for the staff, that's 64.
- 18:08Speaker 5: A new coach is going to run you 100, that's 164.
- 18:10Speaker 5: A new roster, that's another. Like, you're talking about a
- 18:13Speaker 5: $ 200 million deal.
- 18:16Speaker 4: Right. We just went through the LSU.
- 18:18Speaker 5: It's a $ 200 million deal. And for a school that
- 18:21Speaker 5: doesn't have a ton of money, their words, not mine,
- 18:25Speaker 5: that's hard to.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Do, man. Yep. Booger, if I tell you I think
- 18:29Speaker 1: Miami is the most talented team in the country, how
- 18:32Speaker 1: much blowback will I get from Booger McFarlane?
- 18:35Speaker 4: They're one of.
- 18:36Speaker 5: I'm not going to give you a ton of blowback
- 18:37Speaker 5: because they're super talented. The defensive line is outstanding. Jason
- 18:40Speaker 5: Taylor does a phenomenal job. Darion Minson is playing well.
- 18:45Speaker 5: Malachi Toney, Mark Fletcher Jr., the offensive line is a
- 18:48Speaker 5: little young, but that's Mario's baby, so he's always going
- 18:51Speaker 5: to have the offensive line playing well.
- 18:53Speaker 4: They're super talented, man. The only question they have is
- 18:56Speaker 4: their secondary.
- 18:58Speaker 5: Other than that, though, like, Would I feel comfortable putting
- 19:02Speaker 5: Miami on the field with Texas or Notre Dame or
- 19:05Speaker 5: Ohio State?
- 19:06Speaker 4: 100 percent. Like Miami is up there and they should be.
- 19:11Speaker 5: You know, the athletic came out with the I guess
- 19:13Speaker 5: I don't know where they got the figures, but estimated
- 19:16Speaker 5: figures of what people are spending.
- 19:17Speaker 4: On their rosters. Miami's in the top 10 in spending.
- 19:20Speaker 4: Should be a good roster.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Yes.
- 19:22Speaker 4: Should be.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Go ahead, Mike.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Booger, speaking of the ACC, Ole Miss and LSU is
- 19:27Speaker 2: getting all the attention this week. But meanwhile, you got
- 19:30Speaker 2: a big game in there with SMU at Louisville. What
- 19:33Speaker 2: do you see in that game?
- 19:34Speaker 5: Well, you know, Louisville, are we going to get the
- 19:37Speaker 5: Lincoln keyholes from the second half against Ole Miss or
- 19:39Speaker 5: the first half? If we get second half Lincoln keyholes, man,
- 19:42Speaker 5: it's pretty good. He lost the quarterback battle at Ohio
- 19:47Speaker 5: State with Julian Sane, which lets you know that being
- 19:50Speaker 5: in a battle he's a super talented kid um i
- 19:53Speaker 5: love jeff braum to me jeff braum is one of
- 19:55Speaker 5: the best play callers in college football uh smu kevin
- 19:59Speaker 5: jennings didn't really look great against florida state turned the
- 20:03Speaker 5: football over a lot they found a way to win
- 20:05Speaker 5: um i think red lashley does a really good job
- 20:09Speaker 5: um I think SMU's team speed will be something to
- 20:13Speaker 5: pay attention to.
- 20:15Speaker 4: Can Louisville run the football?
- 20:16Speaker 5: I think if you're Louisville, the way you beat SMU
- 20:19Speaker 5: is you use the law firm of Brown and Brown,
- 20:20Speaker 5: you run the football, and you take deep shots with
- 20:23Speaker 5: Lincoln Kehoe. So it's going to be a really, really
- 20:25Speaker 5: good game. I might lean toward Louisville, especially if they
- 20:29Speaker 5: can run the football.
- 20:31Speaker 1: Bunker, just going back to a game last week, just
- 20:33Speaker 1: because you were a great player, you had a ton
- 20:36Speaker 1: of pride, and I'm just wondering how this would have
- 20:38Speaker 1: played out for you. I think that Ohio State, just
- 20:41Speaker 1: based on the momentum, should have let Texas score late
- 20:43Speaker 1: in that game. They get the ball back, and they
- 20:46Speaker 1: have plenty of time to drive the field and try
- 20:48Speaker 1: to win that game. They didn't do that. If Ryan Day,
- 20:51Speaker 1: if a coach comes to you, Booger McFarlane, and says, hey,
- 20:54Speaker 1: just let this team score. The momentum has shifted. It
- 20:57Speaker 1: gives us a better chance to win. Are you okay
- 20:59Speaker 1: with that? Are you accepting of that?
- 21:01Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, whatever the strategy is. I think if
- 21:05Speaker 5: you're Ryan Day, he said they discussed it, so he
- 21:07Speaker 5: was aware of it. um but it just shows you
- 21:10Speaker 5: where our mind is as a society right hey let's
- 21:14Speaker 5: let them score because we can't play defense we can't
- 21:16Speaker 5: stop them but our offense is going to score like
- 21:19Speaker 5: we're so offensive driven in this country it's like as
- 21:23Speaker 5: long as our offense is on the field we got
- 21:25Speaker 5: a chance well how about the defense i've seen goal
- 21:28Speaker 5: line stands made so basically what you're saying is you
- 21:32Speaker 5: want to give it up on defense and put the
- 21:35Speaker 5: game and Julian Sainz handle offense.
- 21:37Speaker 4: So I get both ways, man.
- 21:38Speaker 5: I just think in our country, we're so offensive driven
- 21:42Speaker 5: that everybody's like.
- 21:42Speaker 4: Man, Ryan, this is what you should have did. Well,
- 21:44Speaker 4: guess what?
- 21:46Speaker 5: We just came off a game where Matthew Stafford had
- 21:50Speaker 5: fourth and inches and.
- 21:52Speaker 4: And he got stopped. He didn't get here. Yes.
- 21:54Speaker 5: It was a goal line stand by the 49ers. So, like,
- 21:58Speaker 5: goal line stands happen, guys. Like, I'm not going to
- 22:00Speaker 5: fault Ryan Day. Like, he's not without fault, but I'm
- 22:03Speaker 5: not faulting him for that.
- 22:04Speaker 1: So, I know you. And I think if a coach
- 22:05Speaker 1: said that to you, you'd be like, no, hey, our
- 22:07Speaker 1: defense is good. Get the hell out of here. I'm
- 22:09Speaker 1: not just giving him a touchdown.
- 22:11Speaker 4: Yeah, well, I'm not going to go against the coach
- 22:13Speaker 4: and buck the system.
- 22:14Speaker 5: But I would say to the coach, like, hey, especially
- 22:17Speaker 5: if it's, like, second down. or if it's third, like
- 22:20Speaker 5: if we got two downs, or put it like this,
- 22:22Speaker 5: if it's fourth or if it's first down from the
- 22:25Speaker 5: one-yard line and you got four cracks at it, okay,
- 22:28Speaker 5: let's have a conversation.
- 22:30Speaker 4: If I'm not mistaken, I.
- 22:31Speaker 5: Think they needed to make two stops and they couldn't
- 22:34Speaker 5: get it done. So I understand always, like in this
- 22:39Speaker 5: day and age of analytics and offense and should you
- 22:41Speaker 5: go or should you not, I get all the second-guessing.
- 22:44Speaker 3: Booger, if you were an Ohio State fan, would you
- 22:46Speaker 3: trade the 2024 national championship for Kirk Cignetti?
- 22:52Speaker 4: No, you don't believe in trading. Come on, man.
- 22:53Speaker 5: I mean, Ryan Day has won a national championship, man.
- 23:00Speaker 5: Ryan Day and Nick Sirianni, I think, are viewed the same.
- 23:04Speaker 5: And here's why I say that. People say that the
- 23:07Speaker 5: teams win because they're super talented and they win in
- 23:10Speaker 5: spite of the coach. But when they lose, they blame
- 23:12Speaker 5: Ryan Day and they blame Cignetti. Nick Sirianni, you can't
- 23:17Speaker 5: have it both ways. Nick Sirianni has been the two
- 23:19Speaker 5: Super Bowls 1-1, if I'm not mistaken. I think if
- 23:23Speaker 5: you're Ryan Day, Ryan Day's won a ton of games.
- 23:28Speaker 5: I think he's 84-13 or 83-13 or something like that
- 23:32Speaker 5: with a national championship.
- 23:33Speaker 1: It's ridiculous, yes.
- 23:35Speaker 4: Come on, man. Give the guys some credit. You can't
- 23:38Speaker 4: have it both ways.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Just quickly here. On the NFL, and we'll get you
- 23:43Speaker 1: out of here, because you mentioned Matthew Stafford. Should we
- 23:46Speaker 1: be concerned about the L.A. Rams?
- 23:48Speaker 4: 100%. Really? I think we're going to look up after
- 23:51Speaker 4: the first five games, and they're going to be two
- 23:53Speaker 4: and three.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Wow.
- 23:55Speaker 5: And they're going to be two and three, because you've
- 23:57Speaker 5: got to look at it. Think about this now. Super team.
- 24:00Speaker 4: Everybody's, you know, blah, blah, blah. And that was with
- 24:03Speaker 4: Myles Garrett and Aaron Donald coming back.
- 24:05Speaker 5: Myles Garrett is not going to play the next four games,
- 24:07Speaker 5: and Aaron Donald hasn't come back yet. And, oh, by
- 24:10Speaker 5: the way, the guy you traded Myles Garrett for is
- 24:12Speaker 5: no longer there. So you're really down three players. You're
- 24:15Speaker 5: down Jared Burst, Myles Garrett, and Aaron Donald.
- 24:18Speaker 1: All right?
- 24:19Speaker 5: Now you have an offense where the offense looks kind
- 24:23Speaker 5: of okay against San Francisco. Matthew Stafford really looked– he
- 24:27Speaker 5: played bad. I think they're going to beat the Giants
- 24:30Speaker 5: Monday night. But if you look at the rest of
- 24:33Speaker 5: their schedule coming up, they got Philly, Buffalo, and I
- 24:36Speaker 5: think Houston or somebody else. It is a murderer's row
- 24:40Speaker 5: in the first five. I think after the first five,
- 24:43Speaker 5: we could look up and there'll be two and three. And,
- 24:45Speaker 5: you know, certain shows will be wondering if they're going
- 24:48Speaker 5: to make the playoffs, just like they were wondering if
- 24:50Speaker 5: they were going to go 17-0 last week.
- 24:52Speaker 4: Right.
- 24:52Speaker 1: Booger, have you ever seen a quarterback in all your
- 24:54Speaker 1: time being around football, playing football? Have you ever seen
- 24:57Speaker 1: a quarterback quite like Josh Allen?
- 25:01Speaker 4: Um, yeah, I mean, he's a freak, man.
- 25:04Speaker 1: It's weird.
- 25:06Speaker 4: He's one of one, dude.
- 25:08Speaker 5: Yeah, because he's he's faster than you think. He's bigger
- 25:12Speaker 5: than you think. And he can throw the football. The
- 25:15Speaker 5: one weakness he had was his accuracy come out of Wyoming.
- 25:18Speaker 4: And he's fixed that. Yes. Like, I think he's the
- 25:21Speaker 4: best quarterback in football. Right.
- 25:24Speaker 5: I'm willing to have the conversation with Patrick Mahomes because
- 25:27Speaker 5: Mahomes got pellets on the wall and he's won three
- 25:29Speaker 5: Super Bowls.
- 25:30Speaker 4: But right now, if you.
- 25:31Speaker 5: Told me I could have the first pick of any
- 25:34Speaker 5: quarterback in football, I'm taking Josh Allen.
- 25:38Speaker 1: I'm not certain I disagree. Taylor, you have something for him?
- 25:40Speaker 1: Or are you just happy with your Signetti question and
- 25:42Speaker 1: we're done here?
- 25:44Speaker 3: Booger, I was going to ask, since you mentioned Patrick Mahomes,
- 25:48Speaker 3: what the Chiefs offense was able to do against the Broncos,
- 25:52Speaker 3: front seven especially, was that almost a statement that Kansas
- 25:55Speaker 3: City is going to be back in the AFC picture?
- 25:59Speaker 4: I think it was a statement of what they want
- 26:01Speaker 4: to do.
- 26:02Speaker 5: Like the biggest liar in football is week one. I'm
- 26:09Speaker 5: not saying that it was a lie. As far as
- 26:12Speaker 5: Kansas City is concerned, I think Denver is going to
- 26:14Speaker 5: be a really good team. So you watch that game,
- 26:16Speaker 5: you're like, man, Denver sucks.
- 26:17Speaker 4: No, they don't.
- 26:17Speaker 5: Denver is going to be really good. I do think
- 26:21Speaker 5: the one addition they made on offense was Kenneth Walker.
- 26:26Speaker 5: The receivers are still the same. You still got Rasheed Rice,
- 26:28Speaker 5: Xavier Worthy, Thornton. Those guys don't scare anybody. When you
- 26:35Speaker 5: can't get 180 yards rushing, how do they win?
- 26:37Speaker 4: To me, it's the same issue. I don't think KC
- 26:41Speaker 4: is ready to be back among the elite teams in
- 26:44Speaker 4: the AFC. I think it was a good win. A
- 26:47Speaker 4: lot of emotion.
- 26:49Speaker 5: It's very similar to the emotional level that you're going
- 26:53Speaker 5: to get in Oxford, Mississippi. Super emotional. I think the
- 26:57Speaker 5: team's going to play well, that being Ole Miss. You know,
- 27:01Speaker 5: think about the emotion. Mahomes is coming back. First time
- 27:03Speaker 5: they've seen Mahomes since he got hurt on that field. Denver,
- 27:07Speaker 5: the AFC West favorite is now in your house where
- 27:10Speaker 5: you used to be the favorite. Man, it was so
- 27:12Speaker 5: much emotion in Kansas City on Monday night. It was
- 27:15Speaker 5: hard for Kansas City to lose that game. So let's
- 27:19Speaker 5: just wait and see. When we get to Halloween, I
- 27:22Speaker 5: want you guys to call me back.
- 27:23Speaker 4: We will.
- 27:23Speaker 5: And let's remember some of these things. Because I think,
- 27:26Speaker 5: much like in Major League Baseball, we shouldn't make judgments
- 27:29Speaker 5: until Memorial Day. I think in football, we shouldn't make
- 27:32Speaker 5: judgments until Halloween. Once Halloween gets here, everybody takes their
- 27:37Speaker 5: mask off and you know who they are. I think
- 27:39Speaker 5: that's a good way to look at it, and we
- 27:40Speaker 5: should reconvene November the 1st.
- 27:42Speaker 1: All right, so Taylor, mark my calendar here to call
- 27:45Speaker 1: Booger McFarlane November 1st. Let's not bother him on Halloween, okay?
- 27:50Speaker 5: Yeah, I'll be trick-or-treating. By the way, Halloween, if I'm
- 27:53Speaker 5: not mistaken, Halloween is on a Friday night this year.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Oh, really? Wow, you like that, huh? You like a
- 27:57Speaker 1: Friday night Halloween.
- 27:58Speaker 5: I think it's good for the kids. Friday night, trick-or-treat,
- 28:01Speaker 5: have a little party. You can have Usually there's costume parties.
- 28:05Speaker 5: It's hard to have a costume party on a Tuesday,
- 28:07Speaker 5: but you can have one like on a Friday night
- 28:09Speaker 5: where everybody can get hammered and have some fun and all.
- 28:11Speaker 4: That good stuff. Yes.
- 28:13Speaker 1: You're the go-to house in your neighborhood, aren't you? You
- 28:15Speaker 1: have big bars. You got it all, don't you?
- 28:17Speaker 5: My wife has made it that way. When I was single,
- 28:20Speaker 5: I would turn all the lights off and wouldn't answer
- 28:22Speaker 5: the door. But my wife has gotten really good at this.
- 28:24Speaker 5: So we got bars and candy everywhere.
- 28:26Speaker 4: You know how that goes.
- 28:28Speaker 1: She's been good at getting you to socialize.
- 28:31Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, there's a reason I have a wooden door,
- 28:34Speaker 5: not a glass door.
- 28:37Speaker 1: Taylor, put it on the poll before we get Booger
- 28:39Speaker 1: out of here. Is week one the biggest liar ever?
- 28:42Speaker 1: in the NFL, and then put this on the poll
- 28:44Speaker 1: as well. Biggest liar in football. Week one or Lane Kiffin?
- 28:47Speaker 1: That fucker's going to get mad at me.
- 28:51Speaker 4: He's laughing.
- 28:52Speaker 1: Real quick on the way out here. You mentioned the
- 28:54Speaker 1: atmosphere in Oxford, Mississippi. Can you describe that? What do
- 28:58Speaker 1: you imagine it's going to be like Saturday night as
- 29:01Speaker 1: we get closer to that game?
- 29:04Speaker 4: Imagine, and I always look at it this way.
- 29:08Speaker 5: You have the girl who got left and the husband
- 29:12Speaker 5: left her for another woman. And the girl that got
- 29:15Speaker 5: left is going to have 60,000 of her friends with her.
- 29:19Speaker 5: And they're going to be just super pissed off, super angry,
- 29:23Speaker 5: super emotional, because the guy that left you is coming
- 29:26Speaker 5: back into your neighborhood, and they're having dinner at a restaurant.
- 29:31Speaker 5: And 60,000 people are just going to be heckling. Like,
- 29:33Speaker 5: that's the way I would describe.
- 29:34Speaker 1: It, man.
- 29:34Speaker 4: Right.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Yeah, he left his playoff team for a team that
- 29:37Speaker 1: was 7-6.
- 29:37Speaker 5: And that's... why he said, hey, he told his team,
- 29:42Speaker 5: there's no pressure on us, man. We were a 7-6 team.
- 29:45Speaker 4: Right.
- 29:45Speaker 5: They got two Heisman Trophy candidates coming back. They went
- 29:49Speaker 5: to the playoff last year. There's no pressure on us. Like,
- 29:52Speaker 5: there's pressure on me, but you guys were 7-6 last year.
- 29:56Speaker 4: Yes.
- 29:57Speaker 1: What he's saying is, I built that team, and now
- 29:59Speaker 1: I'm building the team that's going to beat that team.
- 30:03Speaker 4: That's a pretty good way to look at it.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Yes. Booger, we appreciate the time, as always. I will
- 30:07Speaker 1: give you a call on November 1st. That's a Saturday.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Perhaps I'll do it November 3rd, okay?
- 30:12Speaker 4: That'd be great.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Yes. All right.
