- 0:07Speaker 1: The House of the Dragon, Season three is available to
- 0:11Speaker 1: day on HBO. Max Steve Tusd is here with this now,
- 0:15Speaker 1: and can you tell us about this first episode. I
- 0:19Speaker 1: have heard it is one of the biggest TV episodes
- 0:21Speaker 1: of all time.
- 0:22Speaker 2: No, yeah, they tell me that it is the one
- 0:25Speaker 2: of the biggest. I think Ryan said they spent an
- 0:28Speaker 2: irresponsible amount of money, which is.
- 0:31Speaker 3: Aug as well.
- 0:32Speaker 2: But yeah, and I've finally seen it, and yeah, it's
- 0:34Speaker 2: pretty impressing.
- 0:35Speaker 4: Is it centered around you mostly?
- 0:37Speaker 5: This first episode?
- 0:38Speaker 2: So I don't know it, you know, I mean it's
- 0:41Speaker 2: a sea battle. I'm the pre eminent, as I say, seamen, yeah,
- 0:45Speaker 2: go on, it makes me laugh.
- 0:46Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 0:46Speaker 2: I'm kind of very much more every time I'm the
- 0:50Speaker 2: preeminent that thing. But yeah, yeah, so there is a Yeah,
- 0:54Speaker 2: it's you know, I'm the leader of the commander of
- 0:56Speaker 2: the fleet. And it is a big battle too, huge fleets.
- 0:59Speaker 2: So yeah, at the center of it, in.
- 1:01Speaker 6: This age of like CGI and all of that, you're
- 1:04Speaker 6: obviously a very fit man. But how much of the
- 1:08Speaker 6: action do you have to do?
- 1:09Speaker 5: It?
- 1:10Speaker 2: You do the bulk of it because how it works
- 1:13Speaker 2: basically is that the guy's rally who's our stunt coordinator.
- 1:18Speaker 2: They come up with the choreography phytography, and they try
- 1:21Speaker 2: to shape it to each character how he or she
- 1:25Speaker 2: would fight. Then they do a previous where there's a
- 1:28Speaker 2: stuntman doing.
- 1:30Speaker 5: Your moves and how much does he look like you?
- 1:34Speaker 2: This guy actually he looks incredibly like me. He's a
- 1:37Speaker 2: credibly good looking guy, and I'm like, I'm not that
- 1:38Speaker 2: good looking, so he's great. And then I basically then
- 1:42Speaker 2: have to learn the choreography. And we did that over
- 1:44Speaker 2: weeks with all the stunt guys, and then eventually, at
- 1:47Speaker 2: one point, because this is about a meeting between two nemesis,
- 1:50Speaker 2: me and the character Looha played via the lovely Abigail,
- 1:54Speaker 2: then me and Abigail got together and we started to
- 1:56Speaker 2: going to the choreography, and then eventually you finally put
- 1:58Speaker 2: it on the ship with all the corpses and all
- 2:01Speaker 2: the water and all the blood and stuff, and then
- 2:03Speaker 2: finally they shoot it so you can fight. Then I
- 2:07Speaker 2: can if you tell me think yeah exactly, and don't
- 2:11Speaker 2: hit me back, then I'm great.
- 2:13Speaker 5: I'm in this show.
- 2:14Speaker 4: You had these amazing long gray dreadlocks. Yeah, have you
- 2:20Speaker 4: ever had dreadlocks?
- 2:24Speaker 2: Just after I left being a student. I didn't have dreadlocks,
- 2:26Speaker 2: but I did have extensions. I had hair braids and
- 2:28Speaker 2: extensions for a while, but nowhere near as long or
- 2:31Speaker 2: as luxurious as I know.
- 2:34Speaker 5: Well, this one here used to have dreadlocks.
- 2:37Speaker 6: Wow, okay, so it's a horrible look. I don't know
- 2:39Speaker 6: what I was doing. It was very like sort of grunge.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Yury, you know, Okay, yes, yes, yeah.
- 2:44Speaker 5: Remember that band that was like corn and like you know,
- 2:47Speaker 5: ok yeah yeah, people like that.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:51Speaker 6: It was a lot And when you were first cast,
- 2:53Speaker 6: there was you know, some well it was horrible stuff
- 2:55Speaker 6: really that was going around, some racial abuse because the
- 2:58Speaker 6: character was originally white.
- 3:00Speaker 5: How have you dealt with that? Obviously it's gone away
- 3:02Speaker 5: now that you know.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it's on the one hand, it was
- 3:07Speaker 2: surprising and on the other hand it wasn't surprising.
- 3:10Speaker 6: So did you when it first happened, were you like
- 3:12Speaker 6: or even when it was announced.
- 3:14Speaker 5: Did you think all this might happen? No, it was
- 3:16Speaker 5: a shock.
- 3:17Speaker 3: A completely had a shock.
- 3:18Speaker 2: And in fact how it happened was there was they
- 3:21Speaker 2: basically just put out a photo of the three people,
- 3:23Speaker 2: the three latest people that they that they had cast,
- 3:25Speaker 2: and myself been one of them. And the first thing
- 3:28Speaker 2: that I saw when they did it was that somebody
- 3:29Speaker 2: had then put up an artist's impression of how they
- 3:33Speaker 2: felt callers should look, and obviously it was a Caucasian
- 3:36Speaker 2: and they put the two together with a question mark,
- 3:38Speaker 2: and I thought, oh, okay, And then the then the
- 3:41Speaker 2: cavalcade happened where they were just finding me and saying
- 3:44Speaker 2: horrible racial things to me.
- 3:46Speaker 5: Was that Twitter? Because Twitter is the worst one.
- 3:48Speaker 3: It was Twitter? Yeah, it was Twitter.
- 3:50Speaker 5: It's horrible. Yeah, how did you deal with it? Then?
- 3:52Speaker 5: Did you just log off? Did you mute accounts?
- 3:54Speaker 3: Or I did none of those things. I just didn't.
- 3:56Speaker 3: I just ignored them. I just didn't.
- 3:57Speaker 2: I mean, I saw some of them, but I didn't
- 4:00Speaker 2: respond in any way because I figure they probably would
- 4:02Speaker 2: like you to respond.
- 4:04Speaker 3: You can't take these people too seriously.
- 4:06Speaker 2: And also the thing that I kept relying on was
- 4:11Speaker 2: there are many shows and many actors that I don't like.
- 4:14Speaker 3: I just don't watch them.
- 4:16Speaker 2: I don't seek them out and tell them I don't
- 4:18Speaker 2: like that thing that you did, because I have things
- 4:20Speaker 2: happening in my life now. If you don't, and you
- 4:23Speaker 2: have to find an actor to tell him, the negative stuff,
- 4:26Speaker 2: then really you need to look at your life.
- 4:27Speaker 5: Yeah, it is about them, not you. Yeah.
- 4:30Speaker 4: Yeah, they're probably such a fan that they think, oh
- 4:33Speaker 4: this is a way to get.
- 4:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Maybe you never know.
- 4:37Speaker 5: Steve, how's your trip to Australia. You've been here before.
- 4:40Speaker 3: I have been here before. This is my third time
- 4:43Speaker 3: in Australia.
- 4:43Speaker 4: You know, in Australia, anyone who's called Steve becomes Steve O.
- 4:49Speaker 5: Right. I like that rob becomes Robber. Yeah, Robbo, just
- 4:53Speaker 5: end everything with it.
- 4:54Speaker 6: So yeah, see, if I watch one thing you find
- 4:56Speaker 6: a bit odd about Australia or Australians.
- 5:00Speaker 3: Animals. Yeah, yeah, they freak all of them. I was
- 5:06Speaker 3: telling these guys there was when I was last here
- 5:08Speaker 3: a few years ago.
- 5:09Speaker 2: I was doing a series for Netflix and we were
- 5:11Speaker 2: based in Adelaide, and it was the last night and
- 5:15Speaker 2: we were having a rat party, and I remember I
- 5:17Speaker 2: was on a balcony of a shop of a club,
- 5:19Speaker 2: looking out into a shop, and I saw this cat
- 5:22Speaker 2: go into a doorway, a shop doorway, and the guys
- 5:26Speaker 2: knew that I was just like freaked out by all animals.
- 5:28Speaker 3: Right, So they said, this guy said to me, which
- 5:30Speaker 3: thinking about that?
- 5:30Speaker 2: And I said, come on, guys, we do have cats
- 5:33Speaker 2: in And then here, guys, it's not a cat.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Made it's a rat.
- 5:37Speaker 5: Oh it was that beer.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Then I went inside.
- 5:39Speaker 5: Yes I've seen them. And here where we are with you,
- 5:42Speaker 5: we have water rats rats.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Why are you bringing you?
- 5:48Speaker 5: Okay, so our animals a beautiful problem.
- 5:51Speaker 6: Finally, for anyone that hasn't seen House of the Dragon,
- 5:53Speaker 6: how would you explain it in three words?
- 5:56Speaker 5: And I can't be House of Dragon okay?
- 6:00Speaker 3: Oh wow, family destroys itself.
- 6:03Speaker 5: Love it so thank you so much to be watching.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Thank you so much. Thanks, cheers
