- 0:00Speaker 1: We welcome you to the program here on sports Radio
- 0:03Speaker 1: AM thirteen under the Zone. My name is Craig Way.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Glad to have you with us. We're with you up
- 0:07Speaker 1: until five o'clock this afternoon. We have today's show and
- 0:10Speaker 1: tomorrow's show, and then things will get a little weird
- 0:16Speaker 1: and off kilter a little bit, because remember the early
- 0:21Speaker 1: part of next week is heading into the bowl game
- 0:25Speaker 1: for the Texas Long Ones in the Chick fil A
- 0:27Speaker 1: Peach Bowl, the quarter final round of the college football
- 0:30Speaker 1: playoffs is we'll take on the Arizona State Sun Devils,
- 0:33Speaker 1: and there's a media day on Monday, and then Tuesday,
- 0:36Speaker 1: we're off here on Tuesday that's gonna be the final
- 0:40Speaker 1: coaches press conference, and then of course the game is
- 0:45Speaker 1: you know, right in early noon, straight up noon on Wednesday.
- 0:50Speaker 1: So anyway, that's what it's like this time of year,
- 0:54Speaker 1: the holiday season. Anyway, you just kind of, you know,
- 0:57Speaker 1: kind of navigate it. And it's especially or difficult to
- 1:02Speaker 1: navigate it if you're under the weather. And as you know,
- 1:05Speaker 1: from what I mentioned on the air on Monday that
- 1:10Speaker 1: we were without our producer, we were without Cameron D. Parker,
- 1:13Speaker 1: and you know, normally the D on the birth certificate
- 1:17Speaker 1: stands for Dallas, as in his favorite pro football team
- 1:21Speaker 1: that he refuses to watch, although they played what I
- 1:23Speaker 1: thought was their best game of the season on Sunday
- 1:25Speaker 1: night and beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but that didn't
- 1:28Speaker 1: matter at the time. See the D for Cameron on
- 1:33Speaker 1: Monday might have stood for dehydrated or delusional with fever,
- 1:42Speaker 1: but he tells me he didn't have any real fever.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Anyway.
- 1:45Speaker 1: You were ill, and I'm glad you're back. I'm glad
- 1:47Speaker 1: you're feeling better. I know you're not one hundred percent
- 1:49Speaker 1: What would you say, seventy five eighty percent.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Where you were? Yes, somewhere in that range.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Okay, all right, Well I'm glad to have you back.
- 1:55Speaker 1: So what would tell people exactly when he hit you?
- 1:58Speaker 1: What you were there?
- 1:58Speaker 2: Because you were at the game Saturday. You did you did?
- 2:01Speaker 1: You did our long Orange Game Day show last Saturday.
- 2:05Speaker 1: You and Mike Hardball hard and Mark Henry. You did
- 2:08Speaker 1: it from Winschip Circle over there and the hook them
- 2:11Speaker 1: hang out of Bevo Boulevard. You did the full show, right,
- 2:15Speaker 1: and then you were gonna sit in your seat with
- 2:18Speaker 1: your dad to watch the game, right.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Yeah, your dad seats who knows, who knows? I can't
- 2:25Speaker 2: confirm either or not Friday and Friday's show filling in
- 2:29Speaker 2: for you. You know, kind of fell in my throat.
- 2:31Speaker 2: But you know, it's the time of the year, weather change, allergies.
- 2:35Speaker 2: I'm sure sater is a prevalent problem right now because
- 2:38Speaker 2: we are in Texas yet Saturday, you know, got all
- 2:41Speaker 2: the good, the good vibes of body aches chills during
- 2:44Speaker 2: our Longhorns game day show and saw the first half
- 2:47Speaker 2: of Texas Clemson. I felt pretty good going in the halftime,
- 2:50Speaker 2: especially after quin you weres found Gunner Helm down the
- 2:53Speaker 2: seamen to the end zone. Twenty eight ten scored halftime,
- 2:57Speaker 2: you know, probably could have been thirty five seven, But
- 2:59Speaker 2: you know, I digress, thought, Okay, I need to go home.
- 3:02Speaker 2: I need to get some day quell. By the way,
- 3:04Speaker 2: the D probably stands for day quill because I've drinkn
- 3:06Speaker 2: a lot of day will go lately to the behest
- 3:09Speaker 2: of my stomach. Went home, and you know, in between,
- 3:13Speaker 2: you know, kind of delusional awakenings. Saw that it was
- 3:16Speaker 2: a one score game at one point in the second half,
- 3:19Speaker 2: but did see Texas kind of hold on in the
- 3:22Speaker 2: fourth quarter and separate themselves as Jaydon Blue separated himself
- 3:26Speaker 2: from the Clemson defense on that seventy seventy yard touchdown run,
- 3:29Speaker 2: got a victory, and then you.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Know, and then Clemson came back down the field, yeah,
- 3:33Speaker 1: threatening to make it a one score game again when
- 3:35Speaker 1: Texas had the goal line stand that.
- 3:37Speaker 2: And that pretty much locked things up at that point.
- 3:39Speaker 2: And your fourth down call was tremendous, I believe you
- 3:42Speaker 2: say it was. You compare compared it back to the
- 3:45Speaker 2: A and M stop, which was the stop of the season,
- 3:48Speaker 2: but then this was the stop of the season. It's
- 3:50Speaker 2: been updated, been upsdated.
- 3:52Speaker 1: That's a lear Field the network, not the long worn
- 3:55Speaker 1: radio network from there, but the entire liar of Field
- 3:58Speaker 1: network fall on Alpha to name it their call of
- 4:01Speaker 1: the wow. So they they played it as the call
- 4:04Speaker 1: of the week there for that. Actually it wasn't the
- 4:07Speaker 1: fourth down calade. It was the James Blue touchdown. Oh,
- 4:10Speaker 1: call of the week. That's right now that I think
- 4:11Speaker 1: about it. Somebody sent me an email on it and
- 4:13Speaker 1: I saw it or a link to him. Oh okay,
- 4:15Speaker 1: all right, nice get a chosen for a couple of them.
- 4:18Speaker 2: So that was fine.
- 4:18Speaker 1: That was cool, But anyway, So then you were watching,
- 4:21Speaker 1: but you were still not feeling well on Saturday.
- 4:24Speaker 2: No, no, and not through Sunday Monday. You know, they
- 4:26Speaker 2: finally got me on Tamma flu and all that. But
- 4:29Speaker 2: you know, we're there. I'm not contagious, by the way,
- 4:31Speaker 2: no fever to them, I don't think so. So it's
- 4:34Speaker 2: all right, It's all right, but we're getting back there.
- 4:36Speaker 2: You know. Last Steve Sarkishan says, no one is healthy
- 4:39Speaker 2: this time of the year, right, everybody's banged up in
- 4:42Speaker 2: one way or another.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Yeah, nobody's under percent. They're just they're just trying to
- 4:46Speaker 1: get there. We'll talk about this obviously, this Peach Bowl
- 4:51Speaker 1: matchup with Arizona State tomorrow. By the way, on the program,
- 4:54Speaker 1: Tim Healy played by play voice of the Arizona State
- 4:57Speaker 1: Sun Devil's a long time friend of mine.
- 4:59Speaker 2: We'll we'll join us.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Well, we'll laugh about the fact that I actually spotted
- 5:03Speaker 1: for him when they played Texas State back in September
- 5:05Speaker 1: on that Thursday, and that was a whale of a
- 5:07Speaker 1: ball game too. Texas they could have won that ball game.
- 5:10Speaker 1: But anyway, we'll visit with Tim ware. There's a ball
- 5:13Speaker 1: game going on right now nine minutes to go in
- 5:16Speaker 1: the first half, and Pittsburgh is leading Toledo in what's
- 5:21Speaker 1: called the Game Above Sports. Bowl that used to be
- 5:25Speaker 1: known as the Quick Laying Bowls, the one in Detroit
- 5:28Speaker 1: that's always played day after Christmas. It's called the What
- 5:31Speaker 1: Bowl Game Above Sports. So all right, so I'm we're
- 5:34Speaker 1: gonna do a little guests that we're gonna do a
- 5:36Speaker 1: little bowl.
- 5:36Speaker 2: We're gonna do a little bit.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Guess the bull sponsor today, Okay, So don't look it up.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Game Above Sports. That's what it's called. Don't don't, don't,
- 5:43Speaker 1: don't don't look up the deal. So we're gonna do
- 5:46Speaker 1: some of that coming up here, and we'll talk about
- 5:48Speaker 1: the game itself, the one in Atlanta. It's coming up
- 5:53Speaker 1: next Wednesday, Texas and Arizona State. Le's talk about the
- 5:56Speaker 1: other ball games. Aggies are playing tonight, you know, they're
- 5:59Speaker 1: in Las Vegas to take on USC.
- 6:03Speaker 2: There's other bowl games, so we'll talk about all that.
- 6:06Speaker 1: There's some off season baseball signing stuff going on, and
- 6:10Speaker 1: then there's the pro football now in your state of
- 6:15Speaker 1: infirm yesterday.
- 6:18Speaker 2: First of all, do you have Netflix? I do? Okay,
- 6:20Speaker 2: So did you watch the NFL games here and there,
- 6:22Speaker 2: here and there. I mean they weren't really much of
- 6:24Speaker 2: a games. Yeah right, fortunately, but.
- 6:27Speaker 1: The Chiefs Steelers was sixteen to ten early fourth, so
- 6:32Speaker 1: it was still a game. But the Steelers just kicked
- 6:35Speaker 1: a field goal to pull within sixteen ten, and then
- 6:37Speaker 1: the Chiefs went on drive, scored a touchdown, got the
- 6:39Speaker 1: ball back on a turnover, Firemooth fumbled, they covered it,
- 6:43Speaker 1: took it.
- 6:44Speaker 2: In for another and then boom, it was over. It
- 6:45Speaker 2: was done.
- 6:46Speaker 1: The Ravens Texans never was much of a game other
- 6:51Speaker 1: than the two points the Texans put on the board
- 6:54Speaker 1: even the first half. Yeah, yeah, other than that, this
- 6:58Speaker 1: wasn't much and the Ravens were kind of back on
- 7:01Speaker 1: the beam a little bit.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Good day for Longhorns though, Xavi, you're worthy another touchdown.
- 7:07Speaker 2: He's becoming a big part of that Chiefs offense. And
- 7:09Speaker 2: then Justin Tucker a parapet the yard field goals has
- 7:11Speaker 2: not missed since the bye week. So yeah, people who
- 7:14Speaker 2: are pronouncing him dead, looks like he's still got some
- 7:16Speaker 2: life in him. That's good to know.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Okay, So the Xavier Worthy thing, and I'm not going
- 7:21Speaker 1: to put this in inconceivable, I'll just say it right
- 7:23Speaker 1: now we're talking about did you see what he got
- 7:25Speaker 1: flagged for?
- 7:27Speaker 2: It sounds like a celebration. If it's got to be
- 7:29Speaker 2: a celebration.
- 7:29Speaker 1: It was a celebration now. I saw a replay of it,
- 7:34Speaker 1: but it was so brief. Later, I was driving at
- 7:37Speaker 1: the time and heard the call. I was up in
- 7:40Speaker 1: play up there by Dallas. Lynn and I were up
- 7:43Speaker 1: there for at her daughter's house and that's where we
- 7:47Speaker 1: had a family gathering Christmas meal yesterday. But I was driving,
- 7:52Speaker 1: We're driving from the hotel of An to their house,
- 7:55Speaker 1: and I heard the call, like on network radio, and
- 8:00Speaker 1: they were saying that he kind of enacted or re
- 8:04Speaker 1: enacted the Grinch, like stealing presence or something. That's something
- 8:09Speaker 1: I don't but it drew a penalty as a result
- 8:13Speaker 1: of it.
- 8:13Speaker 2: You're gonna have to twitter this. Yeah, it's a weird deal.
- 8:16Speaker 2: So anyway, he didn't jump into the pot, right, because
- 8:19Speaker 2: if you jump into the kettle, the Salvation Army kettle,
- 8:22Speaker 2: that's a vine. I asked the sequeliot about it. You'll
- 8:25Speaker 2: get fined for that. I thought they changed that rule
- 8:27Speaker 2: because of what the cause is for. Okay, I see
- 8:31Speaker 2: worthy kind of raised his jersey kind of showing like,
- 8:33Speaker 2: oh hey, I'm caring, I'm loaded. Yeah, I got the
- 8:36Speaker 2: clock on me.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Yeah, it kind of looks like, oh okay, all right,
- 8:40Speaker 1: that makes more sense.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that that. Yeah, you're gonna draw. You're gonna
- 8:44Speaker 2: draw a penalty for that anyway.
- 8:48Speaker 1: So so yeah, there, but there's some other things about
- 8:50Speaker 1: those two games, and there's two telecasts we need to
- 8:52Speaker 1: get to as well. So Pittsburgh is leading twelve to
- 8:55Speaker 1: six on top of Toledo, and that is about eight
- 8:58Speaker 1: fifty to go first half of that. So anyway we'll
- 9:01Speaker 1: get to we'll get to hold of that. We've got
- 9:03Speaker 1: a lot of other things, uh, to get to on
- 9:05Speaker 1: the program. We do have Inconceivable, a holiday version of Inconceivable.
- 9:12Speaker 1: One of them involves one of your favorite places. Okay
- 9:19Speaker 1: Whataburger it is? Yeah, okay, isn't Whataburger one of your
- 9:23Speaker 1: favorite burger joints?
- 9:24Speaker 2: I thought you like Whataburger, not their hamburgers. I'm Patti
- 9:28Speaker 2: Mel only at water Burger.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Okay, we're still talking ground beef here. It's just on
- 9:33Speaker 1: toast and yeah, okay, well then you probably won't be
- 9:38Speaker 1: a fan of what they're offering here. They have a
- 9:40Speaker 1: new offer coming up, but it's not like a regular
- 9:44Speaker 1: fast food junk food up date thing. It's some intreating
- 9:48Speaker 1: different and we'll see if it has any appeal to you. Also,
