- 0:01What a legacy, huh? Living for something that's
- 0:06bigger than ourselves and understanding what a turning
- 0:14point is. A definition of a turning point
- 0:18in life is a significant event, decision, or experience that
- 0:23causes a major shift in a person's life trajectory,
- 0:27perspective, or direction. It's a moment after which things
- 0:31are never quite the same, fundamentally altering the
- 0:36future path. It involves A profound change in
- 0:40a person's circumstances, such as career, relationships,
- 0:44beliefs, or health. Once a turning point occurs,
- 0:47there's usually no going back to the way things were before.
- 0:51It often leads to a new path, a new set of priorities, and a new
- 0:56understanding of oneself in the world.
- 0:59While others might observe a change, the true impact is
- 1:03deeply personal and felt by the individual.
- 1:07Turning points, even those stemming from difficult
- 1:10situations like a crisis or a loss, often serve as catalysts
- 1:15for personal growth, resilience, or self discovery.
- 1:21I'm sure this event has impacted your lives.
- 1:24I know it's impacted mine. It's 74 years old.
- 1:29Most guys my age are thinking about retiring and shutting up
- 1:34pastors. We did our thing and we just
- 1:37fade into the sunset. But I feel as I do along with
- 1:41the rest of the leadership, this is a pivotal time for our church
- 1:47as well as our community, our county, our state, our country
- 1:52in the world. And so our Savior Jesus Christ
- 1:57in Matthew chapter 5 began a turning point when the greatest
- 2:03sermon that was ever preached in the world, the Beatitudes.
- 2:08So I'm going to read these verses and as I read them, think
- 2:12about them in your own heart. What do they mean to you?
- 2:16What does it cause you to think about?
- 2:18How might you be in the process of change, wanting to live these
- 2:23powerful truths out instead of reading them and just thinking
- 2:26about them? How can I be more like what
- 2:30Jesus is wanting us to be? Let's pray.
- 2:33Father God, we thank you this morning for your Holy Spirit
- 2:37who's with us, speaking to us, Lord, in the building online, on
- 2:43YouTube, Facebook, whatever other media that you allow us to
- 2:47use to get the word out. We ask you today, God, for your
- 2:52favor and your grace to speak to each of us as individuals and as
- 2:56a church, what it is you want us to do moving forward in the days
- 3:00ahead. That we would get the gospel out
- 3:03of the building and into the streets, into the marketplace,
- 3:08into the political arena, Lord, into the neighborhood and the
- 3:12communities we live in, into our workplaces.
- 3:16And that Lord, we would be salt and light as you tell us in the
- 3:19section of Scriptures. Lord, bless your people today.
- 3:23Encourage them. Encourage husbands and wives to
- 3:26have conversations with their children that they would have a
- 3:29biblical worldview that as they go into the public school that
- 3:34they would have the ability to have a turning point choice not
- 3:40to go this with the culture, but to go with your teachings.
- 3:45Lord, from your word. Change our lives, Lord, change
- 3:49our hearts, change our minds to make us like you.
- 3:52Jesus, we know that your will and we thank you in advance for
- 3:56what it is you're doing and will continually do in the days
- 3:59ahead. And we pray these things in
- 4:01Jesus name, Amen. And seeing the multitudes, he
- 4:07went up into a mountain, and when he was set, his disciples
- 4:12came unto him, and he opened his mouth and taught them, saying,
- 4:16Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of
- 4:20heaven. Blessed are they that mourn, for
- 4:23they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they
- 4:27shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger
- 4:31and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled.
- 4:35Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
- 4:39Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
- 4:43Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the
- 4:46children of God. Blessed are they which are
- 4:50persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the Kingdom
- 4:53of heaven. Blessed are you when men shall
- 4:57revive you and persecute you, and shall say all men are of
- 5:01evil against you falsely for my sake rejoice and be exceedingly
- 5:05glad, for great is your reward in heaven for so persecuted they
- 5:10the prophets which were before you.
- 5:13You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt have lost its
- 5:17savour, wherewith shall it be salted.
- 5:20It is therefore good for nothing but to be cast out, and to be
- 5:24trodden under foot of men. You are the light of the world.
- 5:27A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid, neither do men
- 5:32Light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a Candlestick,
- 5:37and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
- 5:41Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good
- 5:45works and glorify your Father, which is in heaven.
- 5:50Amen. That's what we're called to do.
- 5:55It's Jesus and His gospel, the Good News and the focus today
- 6:00and every day that we gather at Calvary Chapel.
- 6:02Our worship gathering His, His Word and how His Word can change
- 6:07our lives. Many of our lives have been
- 6:09changed and are being changed because of the simple teaching
- 6:13of the Bible through the men and women in this church that
- 6:16faithfully teach the Bible weekly to the people that they
- 6:19love and care about. Salt and light.
- 6:25I have been convicted since this event happened that how much
- 6:31salt is coming out of my life and how much light is being
- 6:36manifest from my life and the questions I asked myself and I
- 6:41asked you today. Are we salt and light outside
- 6:45this particular building in this ministry, in this church?
- 6:50Do we look for opportunities in our conversations with people to
- 6:54be salt and light? Or are we intimidated and
- 6:59fearful or feel unable to express our convictions?
- 7:06That's one of the big challenges I think we have as Christians.
- 7:10If you turn to Isaiah 6, if you have a Bible, turn there.
- 7:13If you don't, that's OK. Isaiah had a turning point and a
- 7:20vision. In this chapter.
- 7:22Isaiah is believed that he was somewhere between the ages of 18
- 7:26and 21. It's interesting how God chooses
- 7:30to work with young people. Young people impact old people
- 7:35and old people are to impact young people.
- 7:38It works both ways. But Isaiah, he had this vision.
- 7:42The king had died. He was a good king.
- 7:44He stood for moral convictions and right type of leadership and
- 7:50government and his reign as one of the good kings in Israel at
- 7:54the time. And he died and it says in the
- 7:57first verse of chapter 6, in the year the king Uzziah died, I saw
- 8:02the Lord sitting upon a throne high and lifted up and his train
- 8:06filled the temple. The anytime you have a personal
- 8:10encounter with Jesus, you and him one-on-one could be praying,
- 8:16it could be in a church environment, it could be
- 8:19anywhere where God, this begins to move in your life in a way
- 8:22that you've never experienced him before.
- 8:25When that happens, it's intimidating because we always
- 8:29usually look at ourselves among ourselves and say why I'm just
- 8:33as good as this person or I'm not as bad as that person.
- 8:36So I'm cool, everything's good with me and God, right until you
- 8:40have this kind of encounter. And you'll see now as we begin
- 8:44to get into this, what happened to Isaiah is he had this
- 8:48experience, tremendous vision, seeing heaven as it was in the
- 8:53next dimension. Above it stood the seraphims.
- 8:58Each had six wings. With two he covered his face,
- 9:01with two he covered his feet. And with two he did fly.
- 9:05Boy, what a wild vision, huh? Can you imagine seeing something
- 9:09like that? And one cried unto another and
- 9:12said, holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts.
- 9:16The whole earth is full of his glory.
- 9:19That's what's going on in heaven right now.
- 9:22This worship and this tremendous chorus of angels always singing
- 9:27before the throne of the Most High God.
- 9:29Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of host.
- 9:33And the post of the door moved at the voice of him that cried,
- 9:37and the house was filled with smoke.
- 9:40There was this atmosphere of God's glory that was so
- 9:44overwhelming for Isaiah that he didn't know how to respond other
- 9:49than what he said in verse 5. He said then said, I woe is me,
- 9:53for I am undone because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell
- 9:58in the midst of a people of unclean lips.
- 10:01For my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.
- 10:07When you are before this great throne of God as an individual
- 10:15human being, you begin to see yourself as you really are.
- 10:19You think you're clean and righteous and you got it all
- 10:22together. And all of a sudden you realize,
- 10:25man, I am messed up. And God's grace and His mercy is
- 10:29so kind and so patient and so good.
- 10:34And he, he allows us to see ourselves as we are, not to
- 10:38depress us or destroy us, but to help us to see that there's so
- 10:42much he wants to do in our lives to make us more like Jesus.
- 10:47And that's a one-on-one thing. Whenever you begin to see
- 10:51yourself this way, you want God to cleanse you, you want to
- 10:55repent, you want to make amends, you want to be reconciled to God
- 10:59at times and to others and family and people.
- 11:02You may be offended in your life, whatever all of a sudden
- 11:05like your life is before you. And you say, I wish I wouldn't
- 11:09have done that. I wish I wouldn't have said
- 11:11that. I wish I wouldn't have acted
- 11:13that way. I wish I wish I would have been
- 11:16more open to what God wanted for me instead of being too busy for
- 11:20what it was that God was telling me He created me for.
- 11:23We all are the same. And I encourage you to ask God
- 11:27to give you an encounter with Him if you haven't had one like
- 11:30that yet. Because first of all, when you
- 11:32do, it'll cause you to believe that you need a Savior, you're a
- 11:36Sinner, and you need someone to help you out of the problem that
- 11:40you're in because of what your sin has done to you and to
- 11:43others. God Forgives sin.
- 11:45He cleanses us as we come and ask Him for forgiveness.
- 11:49And if you're a believer and you've gotten cold maybe or
- 11:52lukewarm. And that happens to all of us,
- 11:54including pastors. You can just say, Lord, this is
- 11:57a fresh start. This is a new turning point.
- 12:00I see things from a different vantage point now.
- 12:03And because of that, what I'm living for and how I'm living is
- 12:06going to be changed dramatically.
- 12:08You're going to begin to be the priority of my life and not
- 12:11everything else that I allow to become the priority of my life.
- 12:15And God is so good. He's so patient, so merciful.
- 12:19So he has this experience. Then God in his mercy in verse
- 12:236, then flew one of the seraphim's under me, having a
- 12:27live coal in his hand, which he had taken off from the tongs of
- 12:30the altar. He laid it on my mouth and said,
- 12:33lo, this has touched your lips and your iniquity is taken away
- 12:38and your sin is purged. So I don't know about you, but
- 12:43like I am so at times like why am I?
- 12:47Why am I up here today like, Lord, why are you allowing me to
- 12:51do what it is you are allowing me to do, to talk to these
- 12:55wonderful people that you've created, that you love so much,
- 12:59knowing what I am and where I've come from?
- 13:03But the good news is, is that God isn't looking for perfect
- 13:06people. Charlie Kirk wasn't perfect for
- 13:10sure. We know our president isn't
- 13:12perfect. I know I'm not perfect.
- 13:16But God uses imperfect people to perfect his will and his
- 13:22Kingdom. And So what happened was he's
- 13:26purified, he's refined, he's cleansed.
- 13:29So he's at one point like, man, I can't do anything, certainly
- 13:33can't be used by you God, because I'm such a a
- 13:35knucklehead. And then all the sudden he has
- 13:38this revival in his heart. He knows he's OK with God now
- 13:42and he hears this voice of the Lord saying, whom shall I send
- 13:46and who will go for us? Question mark for all of us
- 13:49today. And we had this last week a
- 13:50little bit we talked about it. Here am I Lord send me.
- 13:56And he said, go and tell this people here and indeed, but they
- 14:02probably won't understand much and see indeed, but they won't
- 14:07perceive. So that's a challenge we have as
- 14:10believers. We are in a culture war.
- 14:14We're in a environment where most people have a worldview
- 14:18that's anti God against God, Pagan, ungodly.
- 14:23And they really don't have a lot of patience for us, nor do they
- 14:27like us. We have to understand that
- 14:30that's a reality. So how do we go into the world
- 14:36to preach the gospel with grace and with love and care about
- 14:42people that really don't like us and don't have the time of day
- 14:44for us? Now, if we're going out there
- 14:46thinking we're better than everyone else, and that's the
- 14:49wrong, don't even start right. But if you go out and you
- 14:53realize like these people were like you at one time, they can't
- 14:56see, they don't understand, they're lost.
- 14:58They need to hear the good news in order to believe the good
- 15:00news. And who's going to tell them the
- 15:02good news? So as you think about this, in
- 15:07lieu of what Isaiah said, here am I, send me.
- 15:10Maybe today you're going to say, Lord, here am I send me.
- 15:14First of all, how do you share your faith in love, not
- 15:18judgement, planting seeds and giving people things to
- 15:22consider. Charlie was a master at having
- 15:25conversations with people and dialogue to get him to think a
- 15:29little bit differently. And because of that work of the
- 15:33Holy Spirit through that man's life many times liberal college
- 15:38students, high school students, people like us that maybe saw
- 15:42the podcast that didn't know the Lord maybe at one time all the
- 15:45sudden said I never thought about life that way.
- 15:49That makes sense and send our views begin to change and then
- 15:54eventually our hearts become open to hearing the gospel.
- 15:58And so our job is to help hurting people and invite them
- 16:03to a a relationship with Jesus Christ, invite them to church
- 16:08and they might say no, but don't ever give up asking people to
- 16:12come and hear the gospel and hear the word of God.
- 16:15Encourage these high school club America leaders, which we'll
- 16:20have one speaking here in a few moments.
- 16:23Morgan from Latrobe High School, she's out there with a table
- 16:27with a lot of cool buttons and pens where you can get involved
- 16:30and find out more about what she's doing by the power of God
- 16:35on the high school campus. Along with students at Norwin,
- 16:38Penn Trafford, Hempfield, Ligonier, Greensburg, Salem,
- 16:46many, many high schools and more and more are signing up to have
- 16:49Club America's in. It's amazing what God's doing
- 16:53through these young people. We want to meet and pray and
- 16:57encourage Morgan today. She's here as well as others to
- 17:01use the resources that we provide through Calvary Chapel
- 17:04and Grace FM 91.7 that we can interview them, that we can have
- 17:09them tell their story and invite their constituents and people
- 17:14that go to school with them to get involved in their wonderful
- 17:19camps and groups and things that they do in their high school
- 17:22campuses. We need to vote.
- 17:25As Kerry said, we need to know the platform of the candidates
- 17:29and we have the voter registration guides so you can
- 17:32vote biblical platforms that are for the truths of the Word of
- 17:39God in regard to pro-life and other issues that are very, very
- 17:43important to the Lord and to what the Word of God teaches us.
- 17:47We need to know who's running and why we're going to vote.
- 17:51I don't have to tell you who to vote for and you don't have to
- 17:54tell me who to vote for. You should know who you should
- 17:57vote for based upon knowing what their platform is and what they
- 18:00believe and what their convictions are.
- 18:03I was told at the meeting that I spoke at over at the Hempfield
- 18:07Park by some of the leaders of Turning Point, the 30% of
- 18:11Christians didn't vote in the last election and 20% of gun
- 18:15owners didn't vote. That's shocking, isn't it?
- 18:18Can you imagine if you get those folks voting for moral causes
- 18:23and values that the Lord has given us through His word, how
- 18:26different our society could be and would be?
- 18:30Maybe you need to run for office.
- 18:32Maybe you need to be active in your local school boards.
- 18:35Maybe you need to show up at the meetings and pray and encourage
- 18:39those who are there that are on the same page as the Lords word
- 18:43of Word of God and then pray individually as a community and
- 18:49nationally. Fred Warnbrock's going to help
- 18:52do some training in regard to our meeting and I'll talk about
- 18:56that. Our first turning point meeting
- 18:58to to study our Constitution and understand our rights as
- 19:02citizens and how we can be salt and light.
- 19:04How we can get into conversations with people and
- 19:07engage them to think about their need of a Savior.
- 19:12We will have prayer guides on platforms of Pennsylvania and we
- 19:17will have prayer guides for every other state in America.
- 19:20So you will know what other states are dealing with in
- 19:23regard to liberal ideologies that are circumventing the truth
- 19:27of the Word of God and know how to pray for these other States
- 19:31and leaders. As family and parents, it's
- 19:36important to teach your children the truths of the Word of God
- 19:40and to help them maneuver a culture that is going to try to
- 19:44teach them and train them to rebel against the Word of God
- 19:49and learn to be humble, turning from what you know needs to
- 19:53change in your own life. There's things since all this
- 19:57has happened that the Lord has tapped me in the shoulder, say,
- 19:59Clark, this area needs to go in your life.
- 20:02This needs to be thought about differently.
- 20:05These judgments need to be put down.
- 20:07These love and these opportunities to be a better
- 20:11husband, a better father, a better grandfather, a better
- 20:14son-in-law, a better brother-in-law, all these better
- 20:17son, all these different hats I wear, a better employee for the
- 20:22companies that I work for, a better pastor.
- 20:25To you guys, these are things that the Lord is causing me to
- 20:29wrestle after. So the benefits of being
- 20:32involved as a collaborative partner with Turning Point Faith
- 20:38is churches like ours. Many Calvary chapels are already
- 20:41involved, many more signing up as we speak.
- 20:44I have communication with Jack Hibbs at Chino Hills to get some
- 20:48direction and help as we maneuver this a little
- 20:51differently than we have in the past.
- 20:55We want to teach one another how to stand for biblical truth, how
- 21:00to combat cultural compromises, and pray for a God centered
- 21:04revival on our nation. There'll be citizenship classes,
- 21:09national faith tours, faith leadership summits, and a lot of
- 21:13other things that we can be involved in to live out the
- 21:16Great Commission. The Lord wants us to go into all
- 21:19the world and preach the gospel to every living creature.
- 21:22One of the problems of where we are in our country as a culture
- 21:26that has unfortunately been not as focused upon in in many of
- 21:31our lives as Christians. And now's the time to be
- 21:35involved. Not tomorrow, next week, next
- 21:37month, maybe next year, but today is the day to be involved.
- 21:41The harvest is plenty old, plentiful, Jesus says, but the
- 21:44laborers are few. Lewis has been so eloquently
- 21:48teaching us the importance of being doers of the word and not
- 21:51hearers only in the book of James.
- 21:53You ever notice like how you can say Amen and listen to sermons
- 21:57and and then go out the door and nothing changes next week that
- 22:01happens. We're human, right?
- 22:02But like the Lord, show us how to apply these things in real
- 22:05life circumstances and situations.
- 22:07All of us. And that's what our training
- 22:10will be involved in. We need to understand that
- 22:13there's a lot of people that don't know Jesus.
- 22:16We need to understand that the LBGTQ agenda is very well
- 22:21organized and very focused on accomplishing their agenda.
- 22:25We need to know how to counter that in love in a biblical way.
- 22:29There's people that are homeless that need help, there's sex
- 22:32trafficking happening in our country and our own communities.
- 22:37There's people that are worshipping Satan, and there's
- 22:40people that think the church now is irrelevant and so they don't
- 22:43attend anymore. And that's one of the worst
- 22:45things that can be happening right now.
- 22:47We want to be a church that is relevant so when people come not
- 22:51only they hear truth but they learn how to apply the truth and
- 22:54live it out in everyday life. We need to do this to protect
- 22:58our children and our grandchildren.
- 23:00As I said, we need to know how to to vote biblically.
- 23:05So who can be involved in this? Anybody that is attending here
- 23:09or listening online or curious or interested, you can get
- 23:12involved in this small group. One part of our ministry, we
- 23:16have many ministries at Calvary Chapel.
- 23:18We're praying that somehow we'll be able to connect with the
- 23:21prisoners at the West Morning County Prison.
- 23:24All the listeners on Grace FM, this goes out live right now on
- 23:28the air as we're preaching the word.
- 23:32And so when are we going to get together?
- 23:34The first meeting will be Tuesday, November 4th at 7:00 in
- 23:40the social hall, fellowship hall, and we'll probably be
- 23:44doing that once a month, the first Tuesday of the month if
- 23:47everybody agrees on that being a good time to get together.
- 23:51Some people say, well, what am I signing up for?
- 23:53What do I have to do? All you have to do is follow
- 23:56Jesus. That's all you got to do.
- 23:58And so there's not more work or you know where you expect you to
- 24:01do this or do that. Just live out your life and be
- 24:03salt and light. That's all you got to do, right?
- 24:06And share ideas and share ways that we can be more effective in
- 24:10our community. Get engaged.
- 24:14What's exciting about this is, is that last week 22 people
- 24:18signed up to get involved in this as a as a, as a group.
- 24:23And the four specific people that I already see as dynamic
- 24:28leaders that'll help us understand how to do this in the
- 24:31culture. Kerry's been involved in the
- 24:33political arena for a long time. She's very passionate.
- 24:37She kept trying to drag me into this stuff the last five years.
- 24:40And I said, well, I'm busy. I can't, you know, we can't go
- 24:44at all. Kind of flimsy excuses.
- 24:45But she loved me anyway and prayed and didn't leave the
- 24:48church state here. And, and, and she, I know she's
- 24:50want to jump in out of her skin now.
- 24:51She never dreamed this would be happening.
- 24:56Amy Kirkland, you know, I can see passion in her life.
- 24:59All the people that signed up, Fred, he's a retired Lieutenant
- 25:03Colonel from the Air Force. This guy's no joke, and we're
- 25:07fortunate to have him here. He's also an intercessor with
- 25:10Calvary here on Thursday nights. But also him and Mary Ellen are
- 25:13intercessors for everything that's happening all across the
- 25:16country in the world. So he'll be able to give us
- 25:19information and how to pray so we know what to pray for.
- 25:24So the next steps are, as you think about this today, pray
- 25:29about your possible desire to be involved somehow.
- 25:34You can ask us questions, whatever.
- 25:35There's sign up sheets in the lobbies you leave down by the
- 25:39offering and same thing in the back.
- 25:42And Fred will be at one door, I'll be at the other along with
- 25:45some of the other leaders and pastors.
- 25:48Pray for a boldness that will not be intimidated, that we'll
- 25:51be able to to share the good news with people without
- 25:54compromise. That's really, really important
- 25:59be praying about how you can mobilize others and other
- 26:03churches in in the community that need to be involved in this
- 26:06for such a time as this. The the beautiful thing about
- 26:12the work of the Holy Spirit is that none of us are beyond God
- 26:18using right? All of us are able to be used.
- 26:24I guess the challenge for all of us, though, is that are we
- 26:30afraid? Are we concerned about people
- 26:34not liking us? Are we afraid of persecution or
- 26:40or whatever? Erica said something about
- 26:44Charlie, which impressed me, something I got to pray and work
- 26:49on. I like people to like me.
- 26:51I like you guys to be happy. Is everybody happy here?
- 26:53Well, probably maybe 80% are happy at 20%.
- 26:57What's that guy talking about up there?
- 27:00But I can't worry about like what you think of me or, you
- 27:02know, this prayer, You pray for me.
- 27:04I'm not here for a popularity contest.
- 27:06I'm here to be faithful to God, right?
- 27:08So Erica said Charlie had a lot of good friends and when he
- 27:12began to get engaged in the culture wars and speak out
- 27:15against it, he he lost a lot of friends.
- 27:18But she said it never bothered him.
- 27:19He just kept doing what he knew God told him to do.
- 27:23Now there's there's contrary or conflict comments about Charlie
- 27:28and some of the ways he communicated.
- 27:30At times it offended some people.
- 27:33Some people thought he was a racist.
- 27:34Well, he wasn't a racist, but maybe the way he answered a
- 27:37question once in a while, maybe it sounded like he was, but he
- 27:40wasn't. He had African Americans in his
- 27:42team. And Vodi Bakkam, one of the
- 27:45great preachers of the word of God, good reform guy, died
- 27:48recently. He is in the training on how to
- 27:51deal with this issue of racism and white and black and all this
- 27:56baloney stuff that's separating and dividing people because of
- 27:59woke culture right. So that that was not true or
- 28:05thinking women were subservient to men.
- 28:07There's no way all the women that are involved in turning
- 28:10point Morgan here today, Erica running the organization and I
- 28:15would listen to her last couple lectures at the at the Missouri
- 28:21University of Missouri. She spoke and Vance spoke.
- 28:23He tried to answer questions like CC did a good job and she
- 28:29shared the reason why we're doing what we're doing.
- 28:33Our answer isn't in Washington and it isn't in politics.
- 28:40Very clearly stated. It's in the Lord.
- 28:45We need the Word of God. We need the Lord as front and
- 28:48Center for everything we do. Keep that in mind.
- 28:51Keep that as your focus and and the noise.
- 28:55Don't listen to the noise. I mean, some of these scandalous
- 28:59things that are being said to to try to destroy turning point is
- 29:03is ridiculous. You know, on YouTube Annette,
- 29:06just turn off the noise. Keep your eyes on Jesus and do
- 29:10what you know he tells you to do from his word.
- 29:12Amen. Morgan, if you could come up
- 29:16that's welcome. Morgan from Lake Trout of high
- 29:19school, he's going to share some things.
- 29:25How she got involved, why she got involved.
- 29:27Tell us what the push backs are, all that stuff you know.
- 29:31Hi everyone, happy Sunday. I'm Morgan Glessner and I'm 16
- 29:35years old. I'm vice president of Turning
- 29:37Point Westmoreland. My jersey to my journey to Jesus
- 29:41started from a very young age. I have everyone in my family to
- 29:43thank for that. Every Sunday I would go to
- 29:45church not far from here and as a young girl I sometimes didn't
- 29:48understand at all. As I got younger through COVID,
- 29:51honestly my faith kind of fell off.
- 29:53I started my own faith journey to better my relationship with
- 29:55God by reading my Bible, watching online church, and
- 29:58praying. I would like to call my
- 30:00relationship to God my coming back and my coming back my
- 30:03turning point. Turning Point has very true that
- 30:06he brought me across the closer to God.
- 30:08I started with Turning Point USA because I enjoy discussing with
- 30:12people about what is happening in our country and I strongly
- 30:15encourage anyone who is in high school or college to take a
- 30:17current issues class. That's where I started.
- 30:20The best way I like to describe Turning Point is people with
- 30:22conservative religious values. I do not agree with people
- 30:26hating someone on the other side.
- 30:27I encourage the opposition because I enjoy others opinions
- 30:31as long as we are with God. In my chapter at Latrobe, I
- 30:34helped run the chapter with my best friend Mateo.
- 30:37We first thought about creating a chapter towards the end of
- 30:39last school year. We got approved in July this
- 30:42summer. We currently only have 25
- 30:44students even though we just started, which is fantastic.
- 30:47I have friends who have opposite opinions and they don't agree
- 30:50with it, but I continue with how I am and many of the people in
- 30:55the club have very full schedules.
- 30:57I do my best to go to as many events as I can.
- 31:00People my age will be the newest ones to vote in this next
- 31:02election. Please everyone vote on Tuesday.
- 31:05As Pastor Clark and Kerry said already, I encourage that anyone
- 31:10my age educate yourself on how the world works and enjoy
- 31:13enjoying Turning Point. We are not one for just
- 31:17political for just one political party.
- 31:19If you are interested in joining, please come talk to me.
- 31:22Even if you were just wanting to know what we're about going to
- 31:25the Turning Point website and have amazing resources about
- 31:27anything government. I can also talk to anyone if you
- 31:30need help. If you're willing to learn about
- 31:32what's happening in the world, this is for you because we're
- 31:35not just for one. I know I dragged on, but I'm
- 31:38extremely excited for Calvary to join the Turning Point faith
- 31:41community. This, this organization does
- 31:43amazing things and it has done many things for me, brought me
- 31:46amazing opportunities and opinions and people for me to
- 31:50talk to and things for me to talk talk to people about other
- 31:53opinions. If anyone has any questions I'll
- 31:55be out in the lobby with collectibles from Turning Point
- 31:58and I have a bunch of pamphlets and I want to thank everyone for
- 32:01letting me talk and talk about what I'm interested in.
- 32:12Morgan, come on over here for a second.
- 32:14Thank you for your boldness and what you're doing for Jesus.
- 32:17Your labor is not in vain in the Lord Father God, we're inspired
- 32:22by this young woman's life, her wisdom at a young age, her
- 32:27insights, and what she understands to be true because
- 32:31of you, Jesus living in her heart.
- 32:34I pray you would bless her and use her mightily.
- 32:37In Latrobe High School. We have grandkids that go there.
- 32:40I pray, Lord, that I know they've already checked the
- 32:42meeting out. I pray they would get involved.
- 32:44Lord, God, this this do a revival in Latrobe and all these
- 32:49other high schools. Lord, we're looking forward to
- 32:52meeting some of the other leaders from some of the other
- 32:54schools and colleges as well to form a partnership and a unity
- 32:58together for the same purpose of being salt and light.
- 33:02And so Lord use her and thank thank you for bringing her
- 33:04today. Bless her and her family, her
- 33:07father, her mother, everybody, her grandparents that belong to
- 33:10Calvary. Lord, just thank you for what
- 33:13you're doing. And we're just excited to be a
- 33:15part of what she's doing. And we pray all these things in
- 33:19Jesus name and all God's people said Amen.
- 33:22God bless you, honey. So in, in conclusion, Tuesday
- 33:30night 7:00 fellowship, Paul will have the, the beginning of the
- 33:35training and teaching of, of how to be more active in the, in the
- 33:39culture with the gospel. We also want to make everyone
- 33:46aware that this is not something we expect you to do.
- 33:50You have to be led by the Holy Spirit and desire to do this and
- 33:53God calling you to it, right? There's all kind of ministries
- 33:56you can be involved here at, at Calvary.
- 34:00I I'm, I'm on board because this is like making me come alive
- 34:04again in my faith in Jesus. I'm thinking too about the, you
- 34:10know, the opportunity that this church has because of Grace FM.
- 34:16So what I would ask you to do, and many of you have come
- 34:19because of other people inviting you today.
- 34:22Tell people to go to the Calvary Chapel Westmoreland County
- 34:28YouTube station and watch the service today.
- 34:32OK, it's it's going to be archives, it'll be there.
- 34:35Social media, you can get it out there through using Twitter and
- 34:42Instagram and Facebook and all these other things.
- 34:46We have several people here today that are specialists to
- 34:48help us get it out. Do some reels so that they can
- 34:52see a short overview of what we had captured today, what was
- 34:56important in the service. So let it go viral.
- 34:59Seriously, what you can do, your first step involved, even if
- 35:04you're not going to be at the meeting, there's a Christian.
- 35:06Let people hear about what we said today.
- 35:09Let him see the video. Let him hear Morgan's testimony.
- 35:13You have grandkids and kids in high school and junior high,
- 35:17Tell them to watch the service completely OK and ask him for
- 35:23feedback. So that's my story, and I'm
- 35:27sticking to it. And I wanted to thank the Echo
- 35:31Burgers for bringing my dear mother here.
- 35:32Sheila's with us today. No, you're, you're what, 100
- 35:38years old now? Is that what?
- 35:39You're 100, 92 now, right? We're praying you make it to
- 35:46100. And same with Alice.
- 35:47My, my, my mother-in-law back there with Cindy.
- 35:51She's here today. So just thank you for coming
- 35:54today. We love you guys.
- 35:56We'll be around if you have any questions.
- 35:58And Gina, if you can come up and close us and the service, that'd
- 36:02be great with the worship teams. Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 36:08Got too many things going on in my head.
- 36:11OK, this is really important our communion because this is where
- 36:14we become one every week in body, soul, mind and spirit as
- 36:19we remember Christ's sacrifice for us, his shed blood that
- 36:23forgave us of our sins and his body was given for us on the
- 36:26tree. So let's let's do this together.
- 36:33It's interesting, I think about that night he he did do this
- 36:36supper and he knew he was going to die for what he believed and
- 36:40what he was teaching. And he also knew that his
- 36:43closest followers that were with him were mostly going to end
- 36:47their lives the same way. I'm so thankful that I'm not in
- 36:50Nigeria where they're martyring Christians and killing people of
- 36:56any kind of religious faith. And President Trump is getting
- 37:00the Pentagon to get involved and get involved in that country
- 37:03because this shouldn't be happening anywhere in the world,
- 37:06that people can't have freedom of religion, right?
- 37:09And so we pray for these dear sisters and brothers in Nigeria
- 37:13this morning, as well as ourselves.
- 37:15And thank God that we are in a country that we still have the
- 37:19freedom to do what we're doing today.
- 37:21That's not normal in most places in the world, right?
- 37:25Father, we are thankful today and for all that you're teaching
- 37:28us what you're doing in US, and we are so grateful that we can
- 37:32be representing you on this planet for such a time as this.
- 37:36We ask for God that you would be glorified in everything that
- 37:40we're endeavoring to do for you and your Kingdom for sake of one
- 37:45another and our country. We pray, Lord, as we take the
- 37:49supper today, that maybe there's a little deeper meaning because
- 37:53we see things maybe a little bit clearer as to what is being
- 37:57required of us as your people, that we would sacrifice
- 38:02ourselves and meaning that we would surrender our will to your
- 38:06will so that your will would be done in our lives instead of our
- 38:11own. And we praise you and we thank
- 38:14you for what you've done for us, Lord.
- 38:17And the night that Jesus was betrayed, he took the bread in
- 38:20his hands. He broke it.
- 38:21He gave thanks. He said, take, eat, this is My
- 38:24body which is given for you. Eat this in remembrance of me.
- 38:28In the same manner, in that evening he took the cup and he
- 38:39said this cup is a new covenant in My blood which was shed for
- 38:44the forgiveness of sins of many. Drink this in remembrance of me.
- 38:55As often as we eat this spread together and we drink this cup,
- 38:59we show forth the Lord's death till he comes again.
- 39:01Amen. God bless you guys.
- 39:03I also wanted to shoot.
