- 1:17We do have dial it up. We interrupt this regularly
- 1:21scheduled hot mix to bring an important news flow.
- 1:23We got a big broadcast to do here.
- 1:26We're about to dial it up. Job I liked my shrimp cocktail.
- 1:33Welcome back to Dial It Up once again here with some brand new
- 1:38stories that Errol hasn't heard in a lightning round fashion.
- 1:42Guys, everyone come on in. We got five stories.
- 1:44Errol hasn't seen any of them yet.
- 1:45He's going to react and dial up or take one of us that are in
- 1:49the peanut gallery over here. My pinky is bigger than yours.
- 1:53First story. Errol Aaron Judge Fastest to 350
- 1:57home runs Aaron Judge became the fastest player in baseball
- 2:01history to get the 350 home runs with his 35th home run of the
- 2:06season on Saturday against the Cubs.
- 2:08He hit it in his one thousandth 88th game, almost 200 games
- 2:13faster than Mark McGuire, the previous record holder.
- 2:16He goes into the All Star break hitting 35535 homers, 81 RBI
- 2:22with A1194 OPS. He also made three terrific
- 2:26plays in the field in Fridays win versus the Cubs.
- 2:29The only game the Yankees won first?
- 2:31Chicago this past season. Errol.
- 2:37Everybody knows what I think about Aaron Judge.
- 2:39He's the best player in baseball.
- 2:41He's been the best player in baseball for the last four
- 2:43years. I know everybody loves the share
- 2:45Otani situation and they're they're the two best players.
- 2:48He is the face not internationally and Aaron Judge
- 2:51is the face nationally. What he's doing right now is
- 2:54incredible. 35535 home runs, 80 something RBI.
- 2:58The guy's on his way to hitting 140 RBI this year, maybe even
- 3:02150. He's going to hit probably
- 3:05around 60 to 65 home runs. It's been incredible to watch
- 3:09this guy play and what makes him so fantastic is he doesn't go
- 3:12out there after the game and brag about himself.
- 3:15It's all about team. That's what that that's what he
- 3:17stands for. He's not betting on sports.
- 3:20He's not throwing things under the rug.
- 3:23He's not cheating and doing the things that a lot of players are
- 3:26doing. What he's doing is going out
- 3:28there playing the game and playing the game right.
- 3:30I love this kid. This guy's going to hit 5 home
- 3:33500 home runs. He's going to be the best 500
- 3:35home runs. He is the Babe Ruth of our era.
- 3:38It's fantastic to watch. Congratulations to Aaron Judge
- 3:41on a great season and really, so far, a great career.
- 3:45I, I don't like, I'm not going to take anything away from him
- 3:49by any means. I think he needs to continue to
- 3:53do it. Is he going to keep up this
- 3:56pace? That's the one thing that I
- 3:58really like and you guys know as well as I know it's hard to keep
- 4:04but a 40 to 50 pace in homers, right?
- 4:12I don't know if he's going to be able to do it for as long as he
- 4:15can. And I, I want him to.
- 4:17Don't get me wrong, I'm, I'm not disagreeing with that.
- 4:22I just don't know if you can hit 50 homers a year and he's going
- 4:27to be 35. Father Time always wins.
- 4:33I don't know if he can get 50 every year from here on out.
- 4:393333 Jabba 34 beginning of next season.
- 4:43I I don't think that's wrong. Right now he's having the best
- 4:48season of his career. He's putting up numbers nobody
- 4:51even could imagine to think that he's not getting.
- 4:54And I'm like 150 in five years. But he's not doing shit that
- 5:00nobody's ever done before. Yes, he is.
- 5:02He's he's got. He's the quickest.
- 5:04No, he's not doing shit nobody's ever done before if people have
- 5:08done what he's done. Really, he's a guy.
- 5:10He's got a. Higher WRC plus doesn't he than
- 5:13Barry Bonds or who's on steroids and.
- 5:15And here's another thing, he's he's 6 foot 280 lbs and he's a
- 5:21512 player. How many players have you seen
- 5:23do this? I'm not saying he's not great.
- 5:28I love Aaron Judge. I love him.
- 5:32Will he go down as one of the best baseball players?
- 5:34No. No, not to me.
- 5:38How many homers? You think he finishes with
- 5:39Jabba? I think, I think he goes in.
- 5:44How old is he? Speed 535 days.
- 5:48In April, OK. Five Instant change 5.
- 5:51Instant change, so like 525 thirty something like that.
- 5:54I'm. Saying 5 instant change 59
- 5:56because 590. I look, if he's at this pace,
- 6:01look, it's just about health with him, right?
- 6:03Places friends like. Dude, on a bad year, in a bad
- 6:08year, I'll give him five. In a bad year, he hits 30 to 35.
- 6:12There's no way he's going to play another 5-6 years in the
- 6:16league. You're talking.
- 6:17Let's do the. Let's do the math here.
- 6:20Let's 50 * 6 is 300 Errol. So if he hit fifty home runs,
- 6:24I'm. Going to take, I'm going to take
- 6:25it off 650. Let's say, let's say 40, let's
- 6:28go 40. All right, 40 * 2. 40 so be 240
- 6:34home runs 240 yeah, you don't need a calculator.
- 6:36You got me. Yeah, I got this.
- 6:38So. How many home runs is that?
- 6:39240 + 350 be 590. Okay, that's where I think he's
- 6:43going to be. Exactly.
- 6:44I said 5 and 590. So that's just just under 6I.
- 6:48Just said I'm. Not going to get the six on it.
- 6:50He's going to get close to it. He's going to be really, really
- 6:53close. Might be close.
- 6:55And. By the way, he will be the
- 6:58fastest to 55500. He'll be the fastest, almost a
- 7:01six. Great, he.
- 7:03Did it remember? Let's do, let's do this show of
- 7:05hands. Who thinks he gets the 600?
- 7:07Close. I'm more with the injury.
- 7:10I think he'll be like closer to Arrows range like 5-5, anywhere
- 7:14from 570 to 590. I think just with the injury
- 7:17risk I'm a little worried about I'm getting 600.
- 7:19All right, let's move on. We'll get out of baseball for a
- 7:23second and go over to across the pond where they had Wimbledon
- 7:28and the men's and women's finals.
- 7:30If you paid attention, the women's finals were very
- 7:33interesting because there was a startling upset of the world
- 7:37number one, our girl Ariana Sabalenka, who complained
- 7:42against Coco Goff in the French Open.
- 7:44She loses, but then this woman, Amanda Anissimova, who was 13th
- 7:49ranked, she shows up with nothing and gets blank. 6 love,
- 7:536 love. Being the first time that's
- 7:55happened in 100 years. Absolute dud in the finals, she
- 8:00said. Honestly, I didn't even dream of
- 8:02after beating her for the championship.
- 8:04Honestly, I didn't even dream of this because I feel for me it
- 8:07was just way too far to believe. I feel like I've already
- 8:11experienced. I've been experienced player
- 8:13after winning slams before, but I've never really expected to
- 8:16win this one. On the men's side, Arrow, we had
- 8:19the new rivalry. I don't know if you've caught
- 8:22these two guys. I watched some of it Yonic
- 8:25Sinner #1 player in the world defeated #2 player in the world
- 8:28Carlos Alcaraz in four sets, getting his revenge from the
- 8:32five set loss in the French Open final against Alcaraz a couple
- 8:36months ago for Sinners his first ever Wimbledon title and 4th
- 8:40Grand Slam overall. Alcaraz still leads the rivalry
- 8:44eight games to 8 matches to five.
- 8:46And this was Sinners first win versus Alcaraz in the last 6.
- 8:52Dial it up well. I watch bits and pieces of of
- 8:55the Sinners and Alcarez the the the semi finals against the
- 9:01American was very interesting. It went back and forth all the
- 9:05way I think to five sets. When Alcarez actually moved on
- 9:08to the finals, Sinners I it was that was the game that really
- 9:12stuck out to me. The women's were fun to watch,
- 9:14but it was really all the way to the men's and it usually is the
- 9:18women's. Over the last couple of years
- 9:19I've been really interested in in what happens in the woman's.
- 9:22Wimbledon this year was the men's sinners putting on a a
- 9:26show in the finals. I thought that really stood out
- 9:29to me from all the rest. And by the way, I watched the
- 9:33Sweet 16 of the Wimbledon when sinners moved on, Sinners just
- 9:38really dominated all the way to the the semi finals.
- 9:41He he snuck into the finals, but Sinners has been one of the best
- 9:45players. He was one of the best players
- 9:47in the whole tournament. He was I think he won like I
- 9:50think he lost like 3 or 4 frames in the whole tournament.
- 9:54That's how good he. Was it would be matches for sets
- 9:57but not? Frames, well, whatever sets,
- 9:59sets. He lost three or four sets in
- 10:02the whole in the whole tournament.
- 10:03I think Sinners was the most dominant player throughout the
- 10:06tournament and that's why he won his first Wimbledon so.
- 10:10Yeah, Errol, I watched both matches.
- 10:13I haven't caught a lot of tennis recently.
- 10:14I always try to watch the last couple of matches of Wimbledon
- 10:17every year if I can. That is the big one.
- 10:19U.S. Open too.
- 10:20I usually coaching football when US Opens going on, so I don't
- 10:22really catch it, but I really was impressed with Sinner.
- 10:26I thought the way that the two of them play, we haven't seen a
- 10:29rivalry like that since the days of Federer, Nadal, since
- 10:33Djokovic, Nadal, Joker. Like the three of those guys
- 10:36were going good about five years ago.
- 10:38It's best since then. Well, yeah, I'm not saying we
- 10:40haven't seen like tennis does great when you have those
- 10:43rivalries. I really hope this becomes the
- 10:45next one. It was a really good match.
- 10:47I hope to see more of it from those guys and the women's.
- 10:50I I've never seen someone collapse in a final like that.
- 10:53She couldn't hit the ball over the net, man.
- 10:55She kept hitting into the net. She was like she couldn't, like
- 10:58she didn't know where the ball was going.
- 10:59I think she only won four points the whole game.
- 11:02The whole match it was it was one of the biggest ass kicking.
- 11:05That was ugly, ever it was. It was hard to watch.
- 11:07It really was hard to watch. That's why I didn't even want to
- 11:09mention because it really wasn't much of anything to watch so.
- 11:13All right, let's get out of tennis.
- 11:15Here's a great one, Errol. Two of your favorites.
- 11:18Kyrie Irving calls out Stephen A Smith.
- 11:22Oh, yes, the flat Earther himself had some words about
- 11:26Stephen A on a recent live stream when he went in on his
- 11:30contract. I'm going to discuss his
- 11:31contract. I'm going to discuss Stephen A's
- 11:33contract, and I'm going to say I don't think you're worth it,
- 11:36Irving said. Does Smith the Smith deserve to
- 11:39earn more than Wemby since Wendy's on a rookie contract?
- 11:43He was making a point about how Smith and others in the NBA
- 11:46media make more than players but aren't kept to the same levels
- 11:50of accountability. Smith was recently critical of
- 11:55the deal Irving signed with Dallas for just under 40 million
- 11:59a year, saying that's Irving didn't get a good deal, didn't
- 12:01get paid enough. Irving let his opinions be known
- 12:06on his own podcast, Errol. Dial it all, you know.
- 12:11What's so funny, all these players have their own podcast.
- 12:14They're on people's podcast and they got a lot to say.
- 12:17And I'm, I'm not going to quote anything Kyrie Irving says
- 12:20because he thinks the earth is flat, but he's not wrong.
- 12:23He's not wrong. Stephen A Smith did not be
- 12:25making $20 million a year. Do you know that they fired over
- 12:28100 people for Stephen A Smith to make that kind of money?
- 12:32It's a big problem right now in media work.
- 12:35And, and of these guys and Pat McAfee.
- 12:37I give Pat McAfee a lot of credit because they're like back
- 12:40and forth. And I know Stephen A Smith can't
- 12:42stand Pat McAfee because at one point Pat McAfee was making more
- 12:45money than him. Now it's Stephen A Smith's game.
- 12:47It's a big problem. Kyrie Irving coming out and
- 12:50saying that Stephen A Smith shouldn't be making that money.
- 12:52He's overpaid and nobody gives a crap what he says.
- 12:54That's a Crocker. You know what?
- 12:55Because Kyrie Irving has been following Stephen A Smith for a
- 12:58long, long time. They're butt buddies.
- 13:00As LeBron James says. Dwyane Wade over the years, he
- 13:03said that Stephen A Smith is the best of the best.
- 13:05Now all of a sudden, because the LJA comes out and says you
- 13:09shouldn't be talking about my son and Kyrie Irving thinks
- 13:12that, you know, maybe Stephen A Smith's head is flat or brain is
- 13:16flat, he's going to come out and say that he shouldn't be making
- 13:19the money. I don't judge anybody for making
- 13:20the money. I do judge the fact that Kyrie
- 13:23Irving was the person that came up with the argument.
- 13:26Kyrie Irving saying something, it means don't listen.
- 13:29If it was anybody else besides Kyrie Irving or LeBron James or
- 13:32even Draymond Green, I would listen.
- 13:34The fact that Kyrie Irving said something tells me he's either
- 13:38jealous or nobody gives a crap what he believes to think.
- 13:43So that's that's my opinion towards it.
- 13:46I Steven A Smith making 20 million.
- 13:48Does he deserve it? Nobody in the media world
- 13:51deserves that kind of money, including Tom Brady.
- 13:54Who's making that kind of money talking on a damn?
- 13:57Money. Tony Romo.
- 13:59Tony Romo's great. Right, he's a Tony Romo.
- 14:02Tony Romo, Tony Romo is the best sports play by play color guy in
- 14:09the business. There's nobody that can touch
- 14:11him. That's how good he is.
- 14:13Tom Brady? None of them is any.
- 14:15He has a dude next to him too. Yeah, Nance.
- 14:18Yeah, Nance is good, but Nance has that unique voice.
- 14:21But honestly, nobody cares about cares what Nance is saying.
- 14:24They care about what you know. Hello, friends.
- 14:27My name is Mr. Nance. I like to play with myself, you
- 14:31know? That's all I have to hear.
- 14:32And when he talks like that, I could only wonder what he does
- 14:35in his spare time. And he's also making a ton of
- 14:37money thanks to you, to Tony Homo himself.
- 14:40So Tony Romo's the best as far as I'm concerned.
- 14:43Stephen A Smith shouldn't be making that money.
- 14:45But I don't want to hear from Kyrie Irving the bitch crying.
- 14:48Yeah, so while we're on the topics, the great broadcasters
- 14:50are also a bonus golf as well, who just announced in his
- 14:53retirement as well fantastic NBA broadcaster, Knicks broadcaster
- 14:56for 35 years that he's been in the business.
- 14:59So congratulations to Green. But for the sayings of the blind
- 15:03squirrel fight to once in a while Kyler Kyrie Irving's feet
- 15:06pea brain finally found something reasonable to say.
- 15:08Oh yeah, he's right about Stephen A Smith basically
- 15:10hoarding all the ESPN money. And I think there were other for
- 15:14sure baseball layoffs that just happened recently with their
- 15:18with their baseball program in which definitely looks bad when
- 15:21Stephen A Smith is hockey up all that butt.
- 15:22No, they'll just have Stephen A Smith.
- 15:24They'll host a baseball. Sure, let's see what he'll.
- 15:26Pat McAfee there. So why not bring Stephen A Smith
- 15:29on? Yeah, he knows crap about
- 15:30baseball to. Go downhill so bad very fast.
- 15:33I'm not even going to say anything.
- 15:35I don't want to throw anybody under the bus because we might
- 15:37have somebody listening, but what the hell is ESPN doing
- 15:41right now? What is?
- 15:42Going on, it's. Just really disproportionate.
- 15:44What is going on right now over there in that network, what
- 15:48they're giving people that kind of money and there are so much
- 15:52other better, more talented people out there that should be
- 15:55making somewhere in that vicinity.
- 15:58And he they're just completely looking past and I'm not even
- 16:01going to say who so. And you're right, I'm not saying
- 16:03it should be Kyrie Irving. I won't fault him for that for
- 16:08just really stating what really should be magnified about that
- 16:11contract in general. Yeah, I was saying to you
- 16:14earlier, Speedy, it's like one of the first times I've agreed
- 16:17with Kyrie Irving. It's.
- 16:18His most intelligent thing he's said in years.
- 16:21It just, it bothers me because I, I, I see all these people
- 16:24getting fired and Stephen A Smith is taking I, I, he's
- 16:29probably making about 18 to 20% of the, the money that's going
- 16:34into the media. But he's he's also created that
- 16:37too. Arrow, you got to understand
- 16:38that he's like, he's created that like Anomaly, he's.
- 16:41Created that all right, I'm I'm going to I'm going to school you
- 16:44here OK who created cold pizza? Who was The Who was the first
- 16:48person to be called be part of Cold Pizza?
- 16:50Speedy Whole pizza. That was the first ESPN show.
- 16:55Was it Max Kellerman? No, no, no.
- 16:58Who? Was it?
- 16:59He he went, he left. He left and he went over there
- 17:03to do Fox. Do you know what I'm talking
- 17:05about? He retired out.
- 17:06Colin Howard. No, he left and he worked with
- 17:10Stephen A Smith for a long time. And Bayless.
- 17:12That's right. Oh, Skip Bayless.
- 17:14Skip Bayless is the one that opened up the doors in the
- 17:17floodgate for Stephen A Smith. Stephen A Smith was fired.
- 17:20OK. You know, he was fired.
- 17:22You know, the conglomerate of all of that was was Chris Berman
- 17:29probably, but Berman was the one that the one that did it the
- 17:31right way. The right Chris.
- 17:33Chris is a nice guy too. I met Chris a couple of times.
- 17:36I met him at the Berman. Did it the right way.
- 17:39He was the first one to get a 7 figure contract.
- 17:43He was, you know what though, Jabba, it's interesting you
- 17:46bring him up though, because when he did it, he made sure
- 17:49that he was great at everything he did.
- 17:51Remember that when he did the Home Run Derby, back, back,
- 17:53back, back, back, back, back he gone.
- 17:56He always added some flavor to it that made it like unique.
- 18:00And I I don't see any of the talent other than McAfee doing
- 18:04his annoying stick. I would.
- 18:07At times. That doesn't fit with baseball
- 18:10in this situation. I just thought that like, it's
- 18:15college game day, it's WWE, it's some other things as well.
- 18:18I don't think it was this and. I'm putting you on a leash now.
- 18:22I don't know, man. I I missed the days of guys like
- 18:24Berman that were like, I'm going to make this awesome and I'm
- 18:27going to show you I'm not just going.
- 18:28To you're just putting too much money into what they're selling
- 18:31right now. If you have Rick TBHO running
- 18:34and and and being a part of your organization just tells it
- 18:37smells like dog crap, doggy Doo Doo.
- 18:40And again, I'm not throwing anybody under the bus.
- 18:42And if they're listening, well, you know how I feel about this
- 18:45situation. If you're going to put those
- 18:47guys on, there should be some other people being put on in a
- 18:50very better, bigger and better position.
- 18:52I don't get it. I don't get ESPN right now.
- 18:55Doesn't make sense. All right, let's move on.
- 18:58It is frustrating. It's hard to understand.
- 19:00Here we go. Tito Francona gets win #2000.
- 19:06Yes, he is now the 13th manager in baseball history to win 2000
- 19:12games. I don't think I've ever tried to
- 19:14delude myself. I mean, some of those names up
- 19:17there are kind of like baseball royalty.
- 19:19Francona said. If there's an adjective for
- 19:22baseball lifer, it's me. I'm not overly smart.
- 19:25I just love the game, probably too much.
- 19:27Francono, 66, joins Rangers manager Bruce Bochi as the only
- 19:32two active managers with 2000 wins.
- 19:35Francona famously managed the Red Sox in 2004 to break the
- 19:38Curse of the Bambino and in 2007 in those championship teams also
- 19:42managed Cleveland to the World Series in 2016.
- 19:47Errol. Oh, and last thing, only Bochy
- 19:49and Dusty Baker, who are who aren't eligible yet, are not in
- 19:53the Hall of Fame with over 2000 wins.
- 19:57Errol. First of all, I, I had
- 20:01conversations with Goody about this guy.
- 20:03This guy is one of his favorite managers.
- 20:06I know Joppa said it's one of his favorite managers.
- 20:08So I'm sure he's an incredible manager.
- 20:10I can't stand him because he was the guy that absolutely crushed
- 20:15me as a Yankee fan. So I, I know who Terry Francona
- 20:18is. I've heard he's a good guy.
- 20:19He's a great guy. He's a baseball lifer.
- 20:21The fact that he had 2000 wins, congratulations to him.
- 20:24I, I, I think very well deserved.
- 20:26He's been a lifer and he's he's done.
- 20:28In a way where you can't hate on him.
- 20:30He's gone everywhere and he's won everywhere he's gone not
- 20:34championships. He's made those teams a winning
- 20:36organization, very successful everywhere he's gone and he
- 20:39knows how to coach players and manage players.
- 20:42He puts them in the best position to win.
- 20:44You can't hate on a guy like that.
- 20:46I just hated him when he was a Boston Red Sox.
- 20:48But he's a winner and you love winners. 2000 wins, very well
- 20:53deserved and and a guy that nobody is.
- 20:56I've never heard anybody say anything bad about Terry
- 20:58Francona. And by the way, Theo Epstein had
- 21:02to take, you know, he had to take a a hunch on this guy and
- 21:06he hunched right. One of the best managers of this
- 21:09era, the one in only. He, he, he was awesome.
- 21:13Like I'll, it was so funny. I was, I was walking spring
- 21:17training one day and this is when he had to take the bullet
- 21:23for them and the Red Sox. And I think this is 2008 and he
- 21:31was working at ESPN at that point.
- 21:32And he's like, I hated you. But he goes, I can root for you
- 21:36now. And then I got to play for him.
- 21:38And you know, the greatest thing too, being a father and my son
- 21:46and everything is, is the most important thing in my life.
- 21:51And Tito, when I signed, he goes, I don't care what your son
- 21:58does, don't care what he does. He goes, I only have one rule.
- 22:03I have one rule. They come and say hi to me and
- 22:08like as a father and as a man and as a son, that my dad
- 22:17respect that. Please and thank you.
- 22:19It's very first and foremost. And he goes, you can come my
- 22:24clubhouse anytime you want, but you're going to respect me, come
- 22:27see me first. And he did that and he was so
- 22:32great. And Tito deserves all the love,
- 22:37all the love. I know.
- 22:39We, we, we had our run insurance.
- 22:41We had our run in and they were very, very fun.
- 22:46And he didn't like me, but when I got to play for him, he he was
- 22:52just absolutely great human being.
- 22:56Awesome. Let's move on.
- 22:59That's got, I mean, clearly a Hall of Famer, right?
- 23:02Errol got like. Has to be, has to be right if.
- 23:04There's a Hall of the definition of a Hall of Fame.
- 23:06Has to be though, right? I mean, he's got the wins now
- 23:10that that basically solidifies it.
- 23:12It's got 2 World Series and a third appearance.
- 23:15It's it's hard to argue. And now he's turning, trying to
- 23:17turn around this. I am a legend.
- 23:20So should be excited to see if he can do it over there.
- 23:22I think there's still a couple of years away, though.
- 23:24All right, last story, it's Cooper Flag being shut down for
- 23:30the rest of summer League. Flag played in only two games
- 23:34for the Summer League. He was shut down by The
- 23:36Mavericks. He had an up and down first
- 23:39night, poor shooting but had the game-winning two way play with a
- 23:43block at one end with a nice assist at the other end to win
- 23:47the game and then had 31 points. Was his dominant self in a loss
- 23:52to San Antonio on Saturday. The Mavericks apparently have
- 23:56seen enough to know what they have in Flag.
- 23:59As we know, Flag was the Wooden Player of the Year Naismith
- 24:02Player of the year last year, averaging 19.2 points, 7.5
- 24:06rebounds and 4.2 who assists for Duke in their Final Four run
- 24:10last season. Arrow a little early to shut him
- 24:13down. Did they even need to play him
- 24:15at all? Dial it up I.
- 24:17Would have liked to see him finish the summer.
- 24:19He's special and I don't think he needed to play.
- 24:23But again, you want a guy that's going to go out there and
- 24:26compete. He's a competitor, he is going
- 24:28to. Did you want him?
- 24:30Did they want him not to play or like no, they just wouldn't.
- 24:33They probably told him there's no need for him to play anymore.
- 24:36But he's a competitor. He likes to go out there and
- 24:38compete. That's what you like.
- 24:40This is a kid that's always competed no matter where and
- 24:42what team he played for. He's one of those guys and this
- 24:46guy's going to win Rookie of the Year.
- 24:47I don't think you can argue it. There's only one other guy that
- 24:50has a chance to win Rookie of the Year, and that's the guy
- 24:52that's playing in San Antonio. But I I just think that he's
- 24:55he's by far the best player in this year's draft.
- 24:58But what he does as a person, as a team player, that's what
- 25:02stands out to me. I don't think he gives a crap if
- 25:05he's playing or he doesn't. I just want to see him out
- 25:07there. The fact that Dallas shut him
- 25:09down. Dallas didn't have to shut him
- 25:10down. They're just trying to protect
- 25:12him and make sure he'll be ready for the season.
- 25:14He is going to be a selling point for that organization to
- 25:17try to break a casino in. Everybody knows that's what
- 25:19they're trying to do. Cooper flag if he becomes the
- 25:22superstar that I believe he's going to become like a I've been
- 25:24saying over the last eight years he's going to become he's a must
- 25:27see must money bank maker. Mavericks are going to get the
- 25:30opportunity to bring a casino in and the organization's going to
- 25:33get what they want and he's going to be a tall tall sell for
- 25:37the NBA moving forward. So to go to the LJA, to the CFA.
- 25:46What's it going to be called now?
- 25:49The CFA, the Cooper Flag Association, because I think
- 25:52he's going to take over the league and really transition the
- 25:55league into higher heights for team, for American basketball,
- 25:58which they absolutely need because Anthony Edwards is a
- 26:01crybaby and he can't handle it so.
- 26:03Yeah, I mean, it's definitely weird the fact that they just
- 26:05only played them two games. And of course the only big
- 26:07marketable game was against him and Bronny James, which you can
- 26:11take that for what you want for whatever it is.
- 26:13But basically, I don't know. It's it is it's kind of odd the
- 26:15fact that they decided to let him play and really, like I all
- 26:18said, you really, they're really just looking forward to next
- 26:20season, having him ready to be the superstar that we all know
- 26:23he's going to be. Cooper Flag is definitely going
- 26:24to be a superstar within this league.
- 26:26But the whole point is, is I just find it very strange the
- 26:28fact this is that of course, summer league isn't really
- 26:30watched upon as much anymore. I don't even know if it was at
- 26:34one point, but it's very strange to just give him two games and
- 26:38then kind of just. No, it's not.
- 26:39It's The Mavericks. How?
- 26:41How strange is it? That is true.
- 26:42Very strange organization. By the way, since Cooper Flag
- 26:45has been drafted by the Dallas Mavericks.
- 26:48Listen to this Dallas Mavericks. He is in the top ten in jersey
- 26:52sales right now in the NBA top ten I was.
- 26:54Just going to say, I think it was kind of weird only two
- 26:56games. I mean, like the Cooper flag,
- 26:58number one overall pick, he probably is ready and he's ready
- 27:00to go. But I mean, if you see in three
- 27:02seasons since our leagues to like the NFL, if you look at it
- 27:05like Caleb Williams, most of these teams like they don't
- 27:07really want to, you know, start the franchise quarterback in
- 27:09three season because they just think, oh, he's going to be our
- 27:11guy. He's ready.
- 27:13Then you look, they start the season out and they kind of
- 27:15struggle like they're not really up to game with the speed
- 27:17because, you know, the transition from college to the
- 27:19pros, unless you're Jaden Daniels or someone like that or
- 27:22LeBron, you know, you generally don't come out of the gate
- 27:25swinging and firing on all the cylinders.
- 27:27So I would think it would be a sense for him to play a couple
- 27:29more games. But I guess they feel that, you
- 27:31know, he's ready to go. So we'll see how Cooper Flag
- 27:34does. I'm sure he'll be fine.
- 27:35But you know, I think it would have been probably better.
- 27:37Nico's an idiot, Nico's an idiot, and Nico should honestly
- 27:42either play him or not if you're going to play him for two games.
- 27:45Playing for the rest of the summer league, if I was Cooper
- 27:47Flag, I'm a competitor of I, I don't, I don't want to.
- 27:50I don't want to be any part of this organization the way
- 27:53they're already ruining me for the summer.
- 27:55Everybody is selling out those games.
- 27:57When Cooper Flag was playing, those games were sold out.
- 28:01Summer Games sold out. Why isn't he playing?
- 28:04It makes no sense. But again, Nico is not one of
- 28:07the smartest guys and definitely not a person I want to run my
- 28:11organization. I mean, hey, Errol, they got
- 28:12their they got their TikTok, but they got brownie versus flags.
- 28:15They're like, all right, that's nothing for them.
- 28:17We don't need it. We're.
- 28:18Going to say something? About that.
- 28:19The fact that they gave that a whole graphic, a whole tagline,
- 28:21like you're actually getting a really interesting matchup.
- 28:25It's just absolutely laughable. It's it's ridiculous.
- 28:27Flag Ronnie tonight. No, no, no faking it.
- 28:31No, no, no flag, Ronnie. LJA Vegas.
- 28:37Arrow By the time LeBron retires, you'll have both the
- 28:40Eastern and Western conferences named after his son, the Bronny
- 28:42and Bryce conference Bryce. If you want a bar.
- 28:46Bronny Junior Conference, that's.
- 28:48Right. Yeah, the summer, the Summer
- 28:49League award. They'll they'll call it the
- 28:50Bronny Games Award. Thinking of guys that you think
- 28:53are dumb on Carl in the comments section.
- 28:55Flag a competitor just like the great John Shire Stop.
- 28:58Arrow's favorite? John Shire, who choked, choked
- 29:02in a final four. Great.
- 29:04Pretty pretty bad job maybe. Nico Harrison will be dumb
- 29:07enough to fire Jason and hire John Shire.
- 29:09Don't worry, Carl, after he chokes again with the team, even
- 29:12a better team than he had this past year, he will be fired.
- 29:15That is, that was an absolute choke by John, AKA Idiot Shire.
- 29:21All right, I don't know why everybody has this love fest for
- 29:24this guy. He's A to me, he's a failure.
- 29:27He was a failure as a player. And by the way, he didn't have
- 29:31much an NBA career. I don't want to hear it by what
- 29:33was his name? Yeah, a guy that is just a
- 29:37defensive player in the league. I'm not going to mention
- 29:38podcast, you know, but there's somebody that plays in the NBA
- 29:42that said his feelings about John Shire, how great of a
- 29:44player was. And to me, John Shire has been
- 29:47handed, handed a key by Coach K and a key that I want to run
- 29:52into a tree. No offense.
- 29:54That is just an absolute debacle, all right?
- 29:56I got it. Just got to hope that Nico
- 29:58Harrison is done. That was embarrassing for the
- 30:00how do you go up? How are you up 14 points with 2
- 30:031/2 minutes left and you let Houston come all a defensive
- 30:06team come all the way back to win a game and you were up by
- 30:09almost eight points with 50 seconds and you let A-Team come
- 30:13back and beat you. Embarrassing embarrassment.
- 30:16John Shire choke friggin artist. Sell that post that bitch.
- 30:22I'm sorry and. Then Tom Tebido must have
- 30:24learned from him two months later when the Knicks did.
- 30:26I I hate rooting for Duke, you know, because now I got to watch
- 30:29a, a coach that absolutely is a deer in the headlights.
- 30:32Reminds me of one guy named, Oh yeah, Robert Sala.
- 30:35That's, that's the guy. Bambi himself.
- 30:38What is he saying right here? I was a failure.
- 30:39Of a player he won a title. Yeah, he oh, wait a second.
- 30:42He won a title. Did did you just say John Shire
- 30:44won a title? Coach K is the title maker here
- 30:49and John Shire had nothing. By the way, what did John Shire
- 30:52do in the finals? What did he do in the finals?
- 30:55That's what I want to ask because he wasn't the best
- 30:58player on the floor from the finals, Carl.
- 31:00So stop selling me something. And by the way, Kevin, you're
- 31:04right, Chisholm is a jizz is a jizz package.
- 31:06As much as I could say about John Shire, I would rather. 15
- 31:11points in the game against Butler in that game that they
- 31:15almost lost on that bank shot by Gordon Hayward at.
- 31:18The last second, who was a very high profile player when he came
- 31:22out of the draft. Oh, he was awesome, awesome in
- 31:25college. He just couldn't stay healthy.
- 31:28Who drafted him? Was it Carolina, Utah.
- 31:30Utah. Gordon Hayward, He.
- 31:31Started in the. Hornets.
- 31:33The Hornets, the connection with them is I think he failed a
- 31:34physical with them and then went to the Celtics after that or
- 31:37something. I hate John Shire, I can't stand
- 31:39them. So Carl, get off his jock strap
- 31:41please. It's disgusting.
- 31:44I mean, I coached him in high school.
- 31:46I love you, Carl. Stop with this.
- 31:48You're you're becoming Nith. You're becoming this, this
- 31:51Nithkin. You like Carla, Nathan.
- 31:53You like to bring up Nathan with his, you know, his high school
- 31:57softball. Now you're talking about and
- 32:00pickleball. But, you know, I got to pick on
- 32:02you when you I coached him in high school.
- 32:05Yeah. Give me a break.
- 32:07Bagel hole that's. About all I think about when I
- 32:09think of John Shire. A nice little bagel hole.
- 32:11All right, ladies and gentlemen, we might as well get into King
- 32:15of the Hill. And here's the king of the Hill.
- 32:19This, Bobby, is the Beltline. You never, ever hit below that.
- 32:23Not that kind of King of the hill.
- 32:25You dumb Ready? Are you ready?
- 32:27This is King of the Hill. Yeah, because the word jizz is
- 32:31really structured. It's not structured enough for
- 32:34jazz, apparently. Let's get the music on for King
- 32:39of the Hill. Let's get Aaron in here on this
- 32:43one. Get in here, Aaron.
- 32:45I will play as well. I don't know how good my
- 32:49graphics are going to be tonight.
- 32:50I don't know what we're doing MLB right, but we're going to
- 32:53stay in baseball considering it's the only sport going on
- 32:56right now. We will go with the peasant
- 32:59fight. So again, we will all take on
- 33:01Errol. Errol is our reigning king.
- 33:03Our tired king. Is this tired King?
- 33:05That king is weak. I will be playing as well since
- 33:08we only have three contestants so it'll be 4 contestants like
- 33:10always. Peasant fight is the first round
- 33:1399 best power hitters since the year 2000.
- 33:20So again has to be since the year 2000.
- 33:22Could it be a guy that played before that?
- 33:24But we're really trying to focus on 2000 forwards, not someone
- 33:28who did a lot in the 90s. No, these are these are the only
- 33:31competitors everyone else asked out.
- 33:33So here we go. I'll go last.
- 33:36We'll start down at the bottom with Aaron, then Speedy and Job
- 33:40and I'll go end the round to go back for two.
- 33:43Aaron. All right, off the top of my
- 33:47head, which said power hitters, Jason Giambi, I mean, look, but
- 33:50it was before my time. But one of those I look, it's
- 33:53the one that came straight to my head.
- 33:55I'm going to go with Jason Giambi with my first one, not a
- 33:57crazy one, but I'm going to stick with him.
- 33:59Keep a look. Speedy, All right, I'll.
- 34:01Steal the obvious one, Why not Barry Bonds 73 home run season?
- 34:04Jason Giambi, 760. Two, we set record in 2007 and
- 34:10obviously breaking Hank Aaron's record, who was 755 and still
- 34:14extended it even to that day. He probably hit more home runs
- 34:16in the decade that a lot of guys did in their careers.
- 34:18And obviously that season was the biggest one we're still
- 34:21seeing if anyone can catch. So Barry Bonds obvious 1 here.
- 34:25Jabba, I'm going to be an asshole.
- 34:31I got to take Aaron Judge have to in the end.
- 34:36Why is that? Being in and you know, obviously
- 34:42doing what he has done in the amount of time that he's done,
- 34:47coming up late in his career and not being like a real like first
- 34:54round draft pick, like being to the forefront of everything.
- 35:02It took him a while and to see him like, and I'm not sold on
- 35:08him. His numbers are sold on the
- 35:12self. I, I'm, I'm still not, I'm not
- 35:17sold on him yet. I'm really not.
- 35:20But he's he's he's, he's in the conversation.
- 35:24He's in this conversation. All right, I'm putting you on a
- 35:27leash now. Well, I'll take guys whose
- 35:30numbers I am sold on. I'll start with Albert Pujols
- 35:32because Albert Pujols had a 10 year stretch the 1st 10 years of
- 35:35his career. Damn it, you took mine?
- 35:37That. He's a bagel.
- 35:39Dominated. He's got, I believe, more home
- 35:43runs than all but five players ever.
- 35:45Good for me. So I would take Albert Pujols.
- 35:48There's also a 300 hitter for the first half of his career.
- 35:51He was absolutely unstoppable. The second guy I'm going to take
- 35:55killed me as a Yankees fan for a long time.
- 35:58I'm talking. About Oh, I know you're doing
- 36:00big. Poppy has to be mentioned if
- 36:01you're going to talk about guys from since 2000, man.
- 36:04My dad. My dad's favorite player.
- 36:06If are you a meat Bender? If you can serve it up, say you
- 36:11have an advantage over Mariano Rivera, you're an elite few
- 36:15company. Big Poppy.
- 36:17Java. Who did steroids, by the way?
- 36:18Just so you know well. Never, never was charged for it.
- 36:24That wasn't part of the criteria on this list.
- 36:26It should have been. All right, back to Jabba.
- 36:30I'm I'm going to go Miggy. Miggy for me was one of the
- 36:38hardest hitters I've ever had. To get out and to hit over 500
- 36:44homers and to hit over 300, not only was it homers, he gets you
- 36:51gap to gap. He played third base, he played
- 36:56first base. Miguel Cabrera is in that
- 37:01conversation of, in this realm, top ten of everything that he's
- 37:08done. Was he not great defensively?
- 37:10No, he was serviceable. But when you faced him at the
- 37:16plate, it was different. It was different.
- 37:21Speedy. All right.
- 37:23I'll go to home measure your point Fish.
- 37:25Another guy on the Red Sox, Manny Ramirez had 55051I believe
- 37:30career home runs and Chase, one of the best playoff hitters as
- 37:33well when they came into the home runs, did it with the Red
- 37:35Sox for a very long time helping him break the curse along with
- 37:38like you said, just steak coffee.
- 37:39Obviously his Dodgers tenure wasn't as good, but still in
- 37:42some productive season still was able to get over 550 career home
- 37:45runs. Yeah, there's always going to be
- 37:46steroid questions with him 1/2. Can't go wrong with having
- 37:53detect Manny Ramirez Aaron for. 2 So my first pick, I'm going to
- 37:56go with a rod. I mean look, I you could say
- 37:58almost 700. Home runs, Aaron.
- 38:01I knew you were going to do a Yankee.
- 38:03I knew you were I. Have I had to?
- 38:04I had to and well, obviously a rod is it's unspoken because you
- 38:08then obviously I'm going to go with someone.
- 38:10I obviously watch now with another Yankee Stan.
- 38:13Look, I mean get to meet a lot power.
- 38:18He just absolutely crushes the ball.
- 38:21He's considered just you're going.
- 38:23Playoff stand? You're not going regular season
- 38:25stand. But you know what, man?
- 38:27He hits the ball hard. That's the power hitter.
- 38:29I get it. In every single direction, if
- 38:32you know what I mean. He's not wrong.
- 38:35He's not wrong, all right. Speedy, All right, I'll.
- 38:38Round it out with just recently inducted into the Hall of Fame,
- 38:41Adrian Beltre, close to 500 home runs.
- 38:43I don't think he quite got there, but obviously doing with
- 38:45so many different teams, I've given a lot of credit with like
- 38:47doing it all different ballparks to Dodgers.
- 38:49When you came up as a young player too, that was a very
- 38:51heavy pitching ballpark at Dodger Stadium.
- 38:53Then doing it with Texas as well.
- 38:55He had the one year with the Red Sox and again doing it all
- 38:58throughout his career for about a 20 year span before he ended
- 39:01up retiring is fantastic. Almost 500 Aroms got to go
- 39:04Beltre. And Jabba.
- 39:08You're going to you're you're going to lose this one and
- 39:12speedy, I know you are great at these, but the fact that you
- 39:17guys didn't bring Jim Tomei up. Oh.
- 39:19He stole them from me. 612 homers and literally one of the
- 39:26nicest human beings in the planet and I can I can say he
- 39:33never got a Homer run off of me. Like Dracula.
- 39:37Gary, Gary Sheffield was another one for me.
- 39:41But it's like, I get so involved, especially when we go
- 39:46into baseball sides, and but to do it in the way that Jim Tommy
- 39:56did it, as humble and as proud as he was and just to be one of
- 40:01the greatest dudes. There's nobody bag of doughnuts
- 40:07over there, so he hit over 600 over.
- 40:11Sorry about your guys's luck. How farted?
- 40:13Not women. So.
- 40:16There's a lot of there's luck and then there.
- 40:18Where you? Where you going fish?
- 40:19And then there's guys who come up when they're 20 years old and
- 40:23are the best player in baseball immediately and then has a
- 40:25decade where he's unstoppable. He's five of them runs away from
- 40:29400 right now. I'm talking about Mike Trout.
- 40:32This has to be on every single list of anything from 2000.
- 40:37He was a one-of-a-kind player I would say.
- 40:39Maybe his swing didn't look like it, but the way he was built
- 40:42physically 6162 with no neck, all muscle, all trap like Mickey
- 40:47Mantle. Play the game.
- 40:49Like it from new from New Jersey, but South Jersey, that's
- 40:52different. They say like pork roll down
- 40:54there. Nobody gives a shit about those
- 40:56people in South Jersey and they're Eagles fans, all those
- 40:59trashy S Jerseyans. But Mike Trout, certainly one of
- 41:02the greats of all time. Errol, who's moving on to the
- 41:05Jows? Guys forgot about Jeff Bagwell
- 41:07too. He was pretty damn good.
- 41:08Bagwell, yeah, for sure, I'm going.
- 41:13To. Go Speedy and John give.
- 41:15Me that chicken Curry all right let's move on Aaron you can pop
- 41:19out great effort I will stay up here the.
- 41:23Jason Giambi thing I just didn't Giambi.
- 41:26I thought when mine were pretty good, I'm not going to lie but.
- 41:28Yours was. Yeah, no, yours were great.
- 41:31Here we go, Jabba as a picture. You're going to.
- 41:33Have fun with this one. Who threw the best change up of
- 41:38all time? So we got this one.
- 41:41It'll be back and forth. Not going to go twice in a row
- 41:44on this round since it's just the two of you guys.
- 41:47Errol, tell us who is going first.
- 41:49I'll go speak. All right, I'll go with the
- 41:52That's one that I remember seeing at the when I was a kid.
- 41:54That was Johann Santana with the circle change when he was with
- 41:57the Twins. Wanna Sai Young, I believe in
- 41:592003 or 2004. And again, it really kind of
- 42:02elevated the circle changes being a main type of pitch for a
- 42:05lot of these younger pitchers down the road.
- 42:07That's the best one I've seen. I got to go him.
- 42:09Jabba. You're you're literally like,
- 42:12are you not forgetting Greg Maddox?
- 42:16Greg Maddox, Like not only throat 2 seamer but change up
- 42:21wise to be able to do both of those things.
- 42:26He was so great at everything that he did.
- 42:28In. His change up because he wasn't
- 42:33a 95 guy. He was a change up guy that he
- 42:38pulled and plot. That's what he did.
- 42:40And his change up was crazy. He tried to show me how to do
- 42:44it. Had no freaking idea.
- 42:47I was like, I'll try. I've literally I think I threw
- 42:5210 change UPS probably in the big leagues and I think two of
- 42:55them are still going. Two in the pink and one in the
- 42:58stink. Also also a circle change guy
- 43:03right? It was a circle change Java that
- 43:05Maddox. He was, he was, he was off
- 43:07harness. So I.
- 43:08Need a magnifying glass? So when I say off harness like
- 43:14that's 4 seam. So Greg was he was on the side
- 43:18but he wasn't full circle. Interesting.
- 43:23All right. Speedy.
- 43:24All right. I'll go back to the nineties,
- 43:262000s Pedro Martinez. I'll go with him as obviously
- 43:29having the many different. The longest fingers in the game.
- 43:33Well, yeah, that'll help when throwing a change up.
- 43:35Could do it in a lot of different directions that he did
- 43:37when he was with the Mets. He obviously had more of a
- 43:39downward drop to it, but when he was with the Expos and the
- 43:42Dodgers before that and with the Red Sox, could rotate it left
- 43:45and right. Many different with grips.
- 43:47So I'll go Pedro Martinez #2. Jabba.
- 43:51And I'm, I'm, I'm going to kill you on that too.
- 43:53And I'm going to go in the same realm, Tom Cliven.
- 44:02Tom Gliven was literally left-handed 1 / 300 games
- 44:08finished obviously with the Mets, but never threw hard
- 44:15exactly like Maddox did. But you look at exactly what he
- 44:20did and his splits on the same time left and right and it
- 44:26played 22 years and literally changed up people to death.
- 44:33His change up when he threw it was 49%.
- 44:42It was it was diabolical. Like I wish, I wish I could
- 44:47throw a change up my my son's best bitch.
- 44:49Ball bag. Is a change up and those two
- 44:54dudes were unbelievable to me, Speedy.
- 44:59All. Right, I'll run it out with a
- 45:01Yankee that had a very good one. Obviously he played more of his
- 45:03crew with the Orioles, but might be Cena had a very good one as
- 45:05well. Obviously it kept it going for
- 45:07quite a while. Kind of later in his career.
- 45:08Had to keep it going with the Yankees to be able to be
- 45:10effective with his with breaking, breaking the trends
- 45:13with the off speed pitches. But I I only got to see him with
- 45:15the Yankees. I did.
- 45:16I wasn't alive for watching baseball him with the Orioles at
- 45:18the time, but that was always a pitch he relied on, especially
- 45:22with the Yankees later in his career.
- 45:23And Jabba to finish it. Well, you don't like Moose
- 45:28relied on his curveball really early early and I'll get I'll so
- 45:33I'm I'm going to go I'm going to go kind of new school in this
- 45:36110 months ago. And. 2 Science was a fastball,
- 45:43curveball guy, but what people don't understand how good those
- 45:49two pitches were because that he could throw a change up and just
- 45:56to show it and you want to go power rankings, you want to do
- 46:00anything. He's literally in the top 10 and
- 46:07all of it. I wanted to go Ubaldo Jimenez
- 46:10too. That was another one.
- 46:14But those three, I think just literally, they were so
- 46:18different and how they just compartmentalized how I'm
- 46:23supposed to do this and it made them better.
- 46:28And that's what they did and that's exactly what they did.
- 46:31And that's why I don't know if once him get in the Hall of
- 46:34Fame, probably not. But Maddox and Gliven, no better
- 46:41change up. I would say there's only one
- 46:43name. I didn't I I was expecting you.
- 46:45I didn't hear which was Trevor Hoffman.
- 46:47Trevor Hoffman like made his whole career on.
- 46:49The IT was a split, it wasn't a change up they.
- 46:51Called it a change up though. No, it was a split.
- 46:56You. Guys.
- 46:56Go go go look at his videos. It's not a change up you.
- 47:00Guys forgot split, you guys forgot one that's still playing
- 47:03in the game and that's Jacob degrom who has probably the best
- 47:05change up in in the game. So.
- 47:07But it's a split Jacob, it's not a.
- 47:10Change up Jabba explain to me what is it change what the
- 47:13difference is when this when we say because the.
- 47:15Split is your fingers are separated.
- 47:19A change up is a change up. Those are different.
- 47:24No Jacob degrom has the best change up in baseball.
- 47:26Yeah, his is a change. Up.
- 47:28It's a It was a split. No, Jacob degrom is a is a
- 47:31change up. He was, he would, he was this
- 47:33way. It's the same thing that Ian
- 47:35Kennedy did. It's the same thing that it's
- 47:39not a full blown. Kind of like somewhere in
- 47:41between is most of my understanding.
- 47:43It's like a split. I've heard it called a split
- 47:45change. Like we we talk about all the
- 47:48time as Yankees fans. Airbender, what he does is he
- 47:56pronates. He pronates and that's what he
- 47:59does. But it's a change up.
- 48:03It's not a split. Interesting Errol who's moving
- 48:07on take on the King. I I like the new Cena.
- 48:10I like the Pedro Martinez. I'm going to go with Speedy.
- 48:13P All right, Speedy moves on everyone else back in to the
- 48:19heads up competition for voting rights in here.
- 48:23If you didn't like it earlier, if you were voted down time to
- 48:27get your retribution against the king.
- 48:29Come back in everybody and here it is Best Home Run Derby champs
- 48:35of all time. Yes, the Derby is on right now.
- 48:38They are getting close to the finals.
- 48:41Looks like Junior Caminero is going to be one of the
- 48:43finalists. Not sure where they're at on the
- 48:45other side of the bracket yet. Could be Cal Raleigh or someone
- 48:49else. Errol, would you like to go
- 48:52first or seconds? I'm trying to think if I give it
- 48:59to his first. Of all, I won that, by the way,
- 49:01there's no chance. You thought Speedy won that?
- 49:04No chance. Yeah, I did.
- 49:06I thought speedy. I thought speedy.
- 49:09I think speedy. Did a job.
- 49:10Pedro might have had the greatest change up of all time.
- 49:15I mean what? What?
- 49:16Tell me why, Tell me why. You, you tell me.
- 49:20Tell me, Greg and Tom Glavin. Tell me why.
- 49:26Really. I just, I, I'm not, I'm not a
- 49:32big Tom Glavin supporter, so that's the only reason.
- 49:35Why I like you don't have to be the best.
- 49:37I got it. Fan of them but did he win 300
- 49:41games? How many did Pedro win?
- 49:43Not as many as Tom Gliven I. Got.
- 49:46It not as many as Tom Gliven, sorry.
- 49:53All right. All right, I'm out.
- 49:55I know you're out. I know you're a little butt
- 49:57hard. I am a legend, yes.
- 50:00You are Errol. Who's going first?
- 50:01I'm going. To go first, I'm going to go 19.
- 50:08I'm going to go with Ken Griffey junior.
- 50:10Hitting the warehouse. I'm going to go with that one
- 50:12free time Home Run Derby champion.
- 50:15Obviously what he did, it was just unbelievable.
- 50:18Put a display, a towering display at the high fence at
- 50:23Baltimore. So I'm going to go with Ken
- 50:25Griffey Junior. I'll go with the one we talked
- 50:27about a lot on this show. That's Josh Hamilton doing what
- 50:29he did at Yankee Stadium. Yes, job.
- 50:31I know he didn't win. I actually picked Justin Moore
- 50:33no that year, but. Speedy, speedy.
- 50:35The rule was champs. Champs of all.
- 50:38Time it wasn't specifically champs.
- 50:40OK, all right, then I'll, I'll shift it to the I'll shift it to
- 50:44the Prince Fielder one in 2009, a couple years later to a great
- 50:47duel with with Nelson Cruz in that one.
- 50:49That was a that was a difficult one.
- 50:52Cruz is a young player at the time and Prince Fielder I think
- 50:54had the most at the time, 450 foot home runs I think since the
- 50:59steroid era. So I'll I'll go with Prince
- 51:01Fielder for the first one. All right, Errol.
- 51:06I'm going to go. I'm going to go with Vladimir
- 51:09Guerrero junior. I'm going to go with him.
- 51:12Obviously he holds the record, a home run at Home Run Derby in
- 51:162019 with 91 home runs right over Josh Hamilton in 2008.
- 51:21So I'm going to go with Vladimir Guerrero Junior in 2019.
- 51:25Yeah, I'll, I'll round it out with that steroid era one in
- 51:292000 with with Sammy Sosa, the Turner Field in Atlanta too at
- 51:33the time, obviously different, different times.
- 51:35But again, this competition he had to face that year and being
- 51:38able to beat it out with all the steroid error and still having
- 51:41one of the highest totals. That lasted for a while until
- 51:44Josh Hamilton broke it in 2008, even though he didn't win fish.
- 51:46I know. Why?
- 51:47Why was Why was Josh Hamilton not in the conversation?
- 51:50He hadn't. He didn't win.
- 51:51It was only champion it was. Only technically a champion, not
- 51:54overall performance at. The same time you still have to
- 51:57put him in the conversation. I know, but we've we talked
- 52:00about it. With Ken Griffey Junior because
- 52:02he wanted 9490. Eight.
- 52:03Yeah. So I mean, Errol, I've already
- 52:06kind of get tipped my hands once.
- 52:08You say Ken Griffey, junior, I'm voting for you.
- 52:09I'm. Going Where did Daddy give my
- 52:11friend a funny one. Oh, go ahead, my final one.
- 52:13I thought you already went. No.
- 52:14I didn't give my third one right.
- 52:15It's three right. Three.
- 52:17Yeah. Bobby Abreu, 2005.
- 52:20I mean, what he did in 2005 sets the record home runs of 24 in
- 52:24the Derby. Well, and by the way, he had 41
- 52:28in 2005, so 41 and he had 25 and 124 in the one of the rounds.
- 52:33So I'm going to go with Bobby Abreu, so.
- 52:37And I'll, I'll round it out with the that duel that you were
- 52:39talking about with Vladimir Guerrero junior.
- 52:41He ended up ousting him out the one year, but then Pete Alonso
- 52:43wins it the next year too. He set the record in 2021 before
- 52:47he he ended up still end up keeping the streak going after
- 52:50that. I think he was out of the years
- 52:51one of the rounds, but Pete Alonso doing it as a young
- 52:53player. Vlad, I think that year was an 8
- 52:55seed too, which was crazy too. And he ended up going all the
- 52:58way to the finals, I think knocked out Julio Rodriguez.
- 53:00But Pete Alonso ended up bouncing him out with had to
- 53:02compete with all that combined total.
- 53:06All right, Speedy confused because he said he was rounding
- 53:09it out when there was still another round left.
- 53:11Guys, I am going with Errol on this one.
- 53:13A couple of names that I didn't hear that I remembered growing
- 53:17up. The big ones that I really
- 53:18liked. I I mean the Sosa 1 was great,
- 53:21but the Griffey won a couple of times.
- 53:23Frank Thomas, he won three times.
- 53:26Griffey, Frank Thomas had a legendary performance as well.
- 53:30I think the other one that we didn't hear that I loved was
- 53:35Robinson Canal because I love Robinson Canal when he won his.
- 53:37But that's that's pretty much it.
- 53:39I'm going with Arrow. Go to Aaron for your vote.
- 53:44I'm also sorry, I'm also going to go arrow, but arrow real
- 53:47quick. You said for Vlad for 19, he
- 53:50didn't win in 2019, did he? Not that.
- 53:52Was. A win.
- 53:53I think he did win in. 2019. He didn't know.
- 53:56I don't. He won in 2023.
- 53:58He won in 20. 23 He. Didn't win in 19?
- 54:01Well, he hit. 401991 all times in that so.
- 54:05No, yeah, I was just confused, but I'm still going.
- 54:07I'm still going with. Vladimir Kroger in 2023.
- 54:15It doesn't. Matter it isn't no and Java your
- 54:17vote. I got speedy of.
- 54:19Course he. Did all right.
- 54:21Well, it's 2:00 to 1:00. We're going.
- 54:24Errol gets to keep the crown another week.
- 54:26Speedy. Closest you've been, but the
- 54:28king stays, I think. Once again, I'm king of the.
- 54:33Hill. Ladies and gentlemen, I'd like
- 54:35to thank all the fans out there. Thank you on all the platforms
- 54:39from Spotify to Apple to Apple video to Spotify video, and all
- 54:43the audios to TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Speedy's
- 54:48asshole. Ladies and gentlemen, we really
- 54:50appreciate all you guys tuning in and listening to us
- 54:53throughout the week. Keep listening to us, Speedy.

- 54:58On Wednesday, Nathan, you got the guest for Wednesday.
- 55:00Oh, yes. Is that, is that point employer?
- 55:02Oh, we're going to have is he, is he actually going to be here?
- 55:06Yeah. So yeah, current Dolphin.
- 55:08I'm just kidding man, I got. It current dolphin safety.
- 55:11Come on man Ram. We'll get Eli.
- 55:14We'll get Eli on too. Can I slap your ass?
- 55:18Somebody and I think Nathan wants to slap job his ass.
- 55:20What do you guys think Speedy? Speedy how?
- 55:22Big. I don't want to.
- 55:24I have a small. Ass.
- 55:25But it's nice. Listen, I got a small hand so
- 55:28Jabba's ass will probably look like a grapefruit to my hand.
- 55:31You know, it's something, maybe a watermelon speedy you like.
- 55:35I don't. Care about any conversations
- 55:36about yours? Jabba's a niffen's hand slapping
- 55:39or whatever. I mean, what kind of watermelon
- 55:41do you like? Do you like?
- 55:42Hey, listen. Some water, there's pitless and
- 55:45then who? Would you?
- 55:46Who would you take us? Who would you take a hand slap
- 55:49if you got a bake between me, Errol and Niffen?
- 55:54Who would you go? Errol was a was a semi pro
- 56:00fighter. Who?
- 56:00Who would you take an ass slap from?
- 56:02Speedy, you don't have to answer that question.
- 56:05That's the thing. Speedy.
- 56:06Ball bag Jake Shut. Up yes or no, He has shut.
- 56:08Up Errol was a. Semi pro fighter, amateur
- 56:11fighter, whatever year, he would definitely win that.
- 56:13The question Who? Would win.
- 56:14It would be him. No, I'm not saying when.
- 56:17Who would? Who would you rather have one
- 56:19bomb? Who would you?
- 56:19Rather a smash Meese taking it, yes.
- 56:22Yeah, you're taking I. Don't know me taking.
- 56:24Yeah, I thought you meant I. Thought you meant win like
- 56:28taking it like. My dog wants your pussy tattoo.
- 56:32I'm gonna win, I know that. Fish wears panties.
- 56:36Yeah, I'll go with you because the other two probably wouldn't
- 56:39shut up. About it.
- 56:41Somebody's got a Patty cake on Speedy's.
- 56:43This it'll be. Spreading.
- 56:44This'll be spreading it out on his social media, and Arrow
- 56:46won't stop talking about it. Well, you're damn right.
- 56:48And, you know, hopefully we'll have somebody here watching me
- 56:51do it. What do you think?
- 56:52The old Mama, right? Oh, Mama dear.
- 56:55No. Why couldn't she say this to me
- 56:56while I do it? Where's?
- 56:57Brittany. Where's Brittany?
- 56:59Oh. By the way, she is Jabba's.
- 57:03Breaking news, I need Brittany also.
- 57:05Well. Somebody needs Brittany and
- 57:07that. That's the old NRNR hour
- 57:09himself. Anyways, that's it.
- 57:11I, I, I gotta go. I I'm tired.
- 57:13I'm loose. Speedy like you.
- 57:15Loose is a goose, right? Goosing the loose or boosting
- 57:19the caboose of a loose douche, right?
- 57:22What's what are you? Talking about right I I'm just
- 57:25trying to get him to actually believe what a douche is, right
- 57:27Speedy? I don't care what is a douche.
- 57:29Say that it doesn't matter. Say it.
- 57:31Say what is a douche? I don't care what a douche is.
- 57:34OK, there we go. There we go.
- 57:36Ladies and gentlemen, I'm done. It's over.
- 57:38I'll see you Wednesday. Goodnight it.
- 57:40It is little worldwide sports radio network, radio network,
- 57:44radio network.
