Ethan, welcome back to the podcast. Yeah, it's been Been a little bit. Actually hasn't been as long as before, but this has got to be like your sixth or seventh appearance on the podcast. Becoming regularish. Yeah, becoming a regular co host at this point. welcome back everyone. Yep, sorry. This episode's dropping a day later. we didn't get to record on Monday like we normally do. I I went and attended a G Easy and Logic concert. and I would like to say extremely worth it. Great show. for both of those guys. it was very different. Logic was very like, I don't know, more intimate with the crowd and doing like song requests. Geezy just came through and like blew open the the whole concert with like a bunch of cool visuals and smoke. And I could see where all of like the the show's budget went to was G Eazy's portion of the show. But overall it was a fun time. got to see those guy those were like two bucket lists I wanted to see. I didn't get to see I'll probably date myself if anyone on the podcast has also like went to high school around the same time I did in like twenty sixteen. Those artists everyone knows. So Ethan, were you were you a Jeezy Logic fan? yeah, a little bit. A little bit. Yeah, I t it was funny. Some people were there for just Yeezy, some people there for Logic. I was there for both, but obviously it was worth it. So with that, the show will probably be a little more focused on what's upcoming in the week since we're dropping this on Thursday. We'll have some Thursday night football. And honestly, we'll just be getting into the weekend and stuff. But before we do that, Ethan, we have we're not gonna do Birdies of Week this week. We're gonna focus on two pivotal games, two pivotal games here in the Dallas area that we gotta recap that people probably want to hear about. All right. People probably want to hear about these things. If you're tuning into Birdie Pod, you know you got a Cowboys you got a Cowboys fan on this on this podcast, so you wanna hear about the reaction of the Cowboy game. We're gonna start off first with the OU Texas game. OU taking down number one Texas, that was here in Dallas at the at the state fair at the Cotton Bowl, and your boy got last minute tickets. Your boy was in attendance, boots on the ground for Brody Pod. Got to see the game live. It was a bucketless thing for me. Super last minute, but honestly, it was such a cool experience, such a cool atmosphere. I get the whole rivalry thing around it now. Now listen. That was a great game. It was a great game. But we're both Texas Tech fans, all right? We are. I got no dog in the fight. And that's honestly like the best way to go to this game. Like it was hilarious to watch the OU and Texas fans go at it. Yeah. I don't like you said, I don't have a dog in the fight either, but I kinda like to see OU win just because I know a lot of Longhorn fans that think that the Longhorns are like greater than ever with a quarterback that's mediocre. But Arch Branding. Yeah. I got to see him live and in person as well, too. I mean it's it's a little different just to go watch these college games live. It was actually my first SEC football game going to. wow. 'Cause I guess these are like these are new SEC teams 'cause they've been in SEC for like two years now. But obviously I've seen him play before when I was at Texas Tech, but it was the big twelve at that point. So got to see the SEC atmosphere. honestly just the Red Riv the Red River rivalry game was just honestly sick. And yeah, I guess I can break down a little bit what I saw. So first things first, OU's defense is for real, man. OU has a freaking defensive unit. I kind of expected that going in. All right. OU, they got some dogs on the defense. Yeah. Even bought the punt for a touchdown. It was like their first touchdown in three years in the game. Their head coach is Vernable. I mean yeah. Vernable. Yeah, it's hard for me to say. Is a defensive guy. So like he will always have that defense good. I feel like they just need to find an offensive coordinator that they can Get in there, which you never know. Lincoln Raleigh might be available. Well, so I was I was at this game, I was sitting with the OU fans. So luckily I'm a zebra. All right. Like I said, I didn't have a dog in the fight, but I was sitting with the OU fans. I was like, hey guys, listen, I'm a Texas Tech guy. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. I'm with you guys. I want to see the upset. I was like, if I'm in the right section where if we see an upset today, I'm in the right section for it. I will say the OU fans. had no faith. It was funny to watch like the Texas fans just chirping them all game like you guys ready to see belt to ass situation go down. You guys are ready for the y'all be leaving at halftime. Y'all gonna be done. I just told the OU fans, I said, guys, hang on a little bit, all right? If you guys can just make this game, if you guys can just be in this game at the end, you got a shot and Texas is gonna be on the ropes. Yeah. As long as you have Arch Manning as your opposing quarterback there, you'll you're always in the game. Yeah, and I'm not even gonna get into like any of the stats or anything of what happened in this game because once again, I was just I was just I was there, I was in the environment, I got to kind of see it. OU's defense, like I said, dogs on there. OU's offense, it is horrible. It is bad. It is not anywhere near what their defense is. And I it was funny talking to the OU fans. They were like, if we could just have any offense from like the last ten years of OU. We'd be a national championship contender. Yeah. With this defense. Unfortunately, they don't have that. did get to see Matir live, John Mateer. listen, he's all right. Yeah. He's he's a quarterback. That's about all I can say. He's, you know, he he says he gets the ball, he gets the snap, he he tries to run a couple of plays. It just seemed like they were their offense is very they're going side to side, not very north south. they did have a couple they hit a run that broke off and they just kept running a bunch of screens and dump off passes and it just Just was not moving. Luckily the defense, like I said, kept him in this game, kept him close. Arch Manning threw a pick six. I think it was at the his first career pick six. Was that his first career pick six? Yeah. Dude, that pick six that I think it tied up the game twenty four to twenty four. loudest pop I've ever heard in the stadium. And the the OU fans were absolutely back in it. I mean, let's be honest. If his last name went Manning, he would not be on Texas. They would have Put him in the portal or bench him by now. I don't so like I saw flashes of with Arch Manning. He's definitely a good quarterback. I I think there's a little bit of maturity that needs to come through. Like once again, we talked about the Mannings. Everyone wants to talk about how great Peyton Manning was. No one ever talks about his rookie year how in the NFL how bad it was. And once again, Peyton Manning was very good in in Tennessee, but I think it's just a little mat maturation process that needs to go through for Arch Manning a little bit. There was a couple passes, couple of flashes. I like, all right, this guy's look too good. And then there was a couple like the pick six and the other interception that ended up bringing OU back in the game. Force it. Forcing it. Which I mean it's year two, so he's gotta kinda make get a no like make a step up. And I feel like he hasn't done that is the thing though. Like I feel like if you get him in a crunch like close game situation, pressure's on, he crumbles very easily. Yeah. Once again, OU's defense was probably the best defense that he's played all year. like I said I mean Ohio State was defense was pretty decent. I mean how many he looked a lot more maybe it was just also being at the cotton gold, this big rivalry game. It just seemed like he was a lot more flustered with their defense. He like when I watched the the Ohio State Texas game, it seemed like he was more like it seemed he was just more comfortable. Even like they had a interception or fumble on like the first play of that game, he still seemed very comfortable. Maybe it was just because it was at home. I I think this rivalry game, this this this Red River rivalry, he looked as flustered as whenever he played Ohio State when he went to Ohio State. Yeah. That's where I that's where I was noticing a lot of the differences there. but overall, I mean, once again, let's get to the let's get also go ahead. Texas had a chance to tie or to take the lead in this game. They did miss a kick at the end. and once again, OU fans, super loud pop. It was it was really fun to watch that the whole tide tw turn in and then OU then drives down. they get in field goal range, they kick the game winning kick as time expires. if you want to see the live feed that I had, go to the podcast TikTok. I posted it on there of the last second field goal and then just the OU celebration after. It looked like a a giant weight had been lifted off their shoulders. yeah. I mean that's I guarantee you that's the g I mean that gave their head coach probably another year or two on his contract. Yeah. Yeah. I think it was so they hadn't scored a touchdown in like three years in that game. I talked about that earlier. but I think they ended up having like three yeah, three touchdowns and two field goals. So the final score ended up being twenty seven, twenty four. once again, it was just one of those Arch Arch banning is He's gonna get a GM fired in the NFL because some GM's gonna take him and I don't think he's gonna be that great and they're gonna a GM will get fired in the NFL because of Arch batting. Yeah. I think you said all about a lot of quarterbacks. I don't think I d I think if like I don't think he's the best quarterback coming out of this class. I honestly he might stay I think he has one more year left eligibility. He might just come back for a fifth year at Texas. He has to. There's no way. Like Well if you if he was coming out this year and you were a GM, where would you pick him at? What round? I don't know. I know Trinidad's coming out, so I th I'm very I'm very high on Trinidad. I think he's gonna be a good quarterback. I'm I'm just saying d I'm just saying, let's say that Manning's the only quarterback coming out, where would you draft him? Not in the first round. I would take a second or third round, but I someone's gonna take him in the first round. I would I would probably fourth to seventh. I don't think he I mean I don't think he's he hasn't shown like to be our top three round quarterback though. Yeah, I think it I mean it ju it just depends on where the the all the quarterbacks that are coming out. You gotta think, like 'cause the arm talent, he does have the the power, he does have the height, he he is fast, he can, you know, get out of he can use his legs. I mean, that seems to be like OU's biggest thing was trying to keep Arch Manning in the pocket and he would just get out and run, and then you would luckily they'd have a spy and stop him right before the first down, but like he can run. He is he is as fast and as advertised. Like he can and like I said, a couple a couple of throws I saw flash in the pan. Like he's he's there. I think I think the talent's there. But yeah, I mean maybe maybe third round is w and maybe the middle ground between us, third third or fourth. Yeah. But you know some NFL team's gonna take a chance on him. They are just because of the last name. Like I think if he doesn't have his last name I think he goes undrafted if he came out. Yeah, but because he has the last name, he's been working with in quarterback camps his whole life. I mean, yeah, but that hasn't really shown. I give him some brace, all right. Listen, it was it the rivalry games. I said this before. I I said this last podcast by talking about it. I was like throw out this game. Like I'm talking about just watching him the last two years. Like, I mean, remember last year, like they were they would be down by I mean, he they'd be down by a touchdown or two, three going into the fourth quarter, and he would come back. But it's just I don't think the consistency's there yet. Yeah, let's just see what the box score was. Actually, I mean he had three touchdowns in this game and two interceptions. That's really where the big turnover was. And then like like I said, John Mateer, you want to talk about who won't be in the NFL. yeah. No, I don't think so. so as far as like that That quarterback play, he's definitely better. But yeah, like I said, great for OU, big big program win there. just beating Texas and the rivalry. I said in the last podcast, I said, hey, I know the spread is seven and a half. I wouldn't be surprised if OU pulled it off just because it is a rivalry game that so many would team show up. And OU did. And now let me get into that my final portion of this whole thing. I was walking out of the stadium. I I say walking out, it was shuffling. If you've ever been to the Cotton Bowl, that stadium was built I don't know how long ago, but you can tell. It is not efficient getting out in that stadium. It took us probably an hour of shuffling our feet shoulder to shoulder with people trying to get out. Like the the walkways are narrow. There's not a lot of and exits out. Like you all have to go one way. You also have like the state fair right there. Like it's just not efficient moving around in that stadium at all. It's it's an old stadium for a reason. I kept hearing all the OU fans chanting that they were like national championship bound. After like I heard all the the OU chants for the thousandth time, I was like, all right, I'm kind of over it now. then they were like, We're we're our season's still live, we're going to the national championship. Let me go and stop you there, delusional OU fans. You're not going to the national championship. Your offense is not where it needs to be to make it to a national championship. Let's see. But it's a huge win for the program, all right? It's a huge win. But you guys are not going to national championships. Great win. So they're eighth in the big twelve or not the big twelve, the SCC standings right now. So you have Georgia, Alabama, them are the two that are probably gonna come out in the playoffs. Right. You have Kentucky, Mississippi State, Missouri, Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Oklahoma. I don't think you could be but one or two of them teams. Yeah, I mean OU's gonna be playing Kentucky this next week. Yeah. Like Mississippi State. Let's say I mean OU cannot afford to lose any SEC conference games, let alone any more games, period. So if they want to be national championship, I'm saying, yeah. Yeah, I just don't think I just don't think the offense is there. they do have this one guy, I'm trying to remember who it was, is number one on their receivers. Isaiah Sid S Satanya, yeah. Setanya, yeah. he's a dog. He has some big catches in this game as well. As long as Lloyd Evant, who had a big catch on the sideline as well to help put him in that field goal range. Like they they do have the talent there. I just think, I don't know, the quarterback play, the whole offense, it just seemed like it's not anything SEC caliber. Yeah. Speaking of the SEC, I just made me think of this when I'm looking at the settings. Did you see where the Arkansas fans are trying to get all like the their fan base to rush the field after every home or after every game to get the fine so they can run the head coach out of there. No, I did not hear about that, but I'm I'm one that's against field storming if it's not a good field storming so that of course very Arkansas like. They're trying, yeah, they're trying to cost the programmers, I guess, as much money as possible to get the to show their unpleasant tree towards the head coach. I bet, yeah, Arkansas, their 0 3 SEC play. Let's see, who do they got next? They're at Vanderbilt. The next one at home is against number 13, Missouri. Probably I mean, if they win that game, yeah, go ahead and storm the field. That's good field storming. and then South Carolina, probably not a good field storming after that. Unranked South Carolina. And then LSU at home. Go ahead and storm against LSU and Lankiff, and that's that's fine as well. I also It's just reminded me. I want to talk about this on the podcast at some point, but I've started watching the Saban documentary. I watched that. I've watched through the first two episodes so far and I'm hooked. I'm gonna fit definition that this week. I haven't seen the second one, but I've watched the first one and that looks pretty cool. It's good. If anyone, if you're listening to the podcast, you you want something to watch, highly recommend that documentary. It's very good. It goes through pretty much like I didn't realize like the whole Saban, like I knew that he was at Michigan State, but I didn't know where that whole timeline tied into. And then he goes to LSU and then he goes back to the NFL and then he goes to Alabama. So they kind of dive into that whole beginning part. And then I think I'm I'm getting to the part now where they're gonna start talking about Alabama and coming up on the dominance there and winning some of the national championships and just overall building that program up to the Alabama we see now where he passed it off to Kayla Debore. And I didn't get to watch the Alabama Georgia game as much as I wanted to. I after the OU Texas game, I ended up going to the Texas State Fair. Went to a couple of rides there. Went and got a corn dog. Went and tried just the fried Oreos again. there was a new dish that was at the state fair this year. It was like fried donut sandwich with ice cream in between and and an Oreo on top of that. I was like, Dude, this tells me you're at the State Fair without telling me you're at the State Fair. Right. I've never been to the state fair. And then all everyone was freaking out about the pickle pizza. I saw it. That looks absolutely disgusting. I'm not a pickle pizza person. That is there's no way that's good. Are you a pineapple pizza person? I'll put p I mean if I'm in the mood, yeah, I'll put pineapple on pizza. But pickle on pizza, that just seems like the cheese and pizza along with like the tanginess of pickle like the sauce. Is it pickle sauce? No, no, I'm saying just like I I don't I don't know how they made it, but I'm thinking of like instead of pepperonis, they put pickles in there with like you you're exactly right. It's just pickles on pizza. I'm like marinara sauce with pickles, like I just don't think that's a good combo. Everyone's sweared by they're like, dude, this is so good. I like, I I absolutely I'm out on that one. I'm good. I'm good, Chief. Speaking of being out on something here, Ethan, let's get into the next game where like I said, I teased this earlier. If you've come to this podcast, you want to listen to it. Bucks 24, Cowboys 16, Thursday night football. This game happened by the time this podcast comes out a week ago. So we won't spend too much time on it. But as a Cowboys fan, I was out actually playing a softball game while this game was going on. And I said, you know what? This is a I said, this is a good Thursday night football game to miss. If the Cowboys win this, woo-hoo, guys. We beat an 0-4 Bucks team with a with a undrafted free undrafted rookie leading the way. and then if we lose this game. We lost to an undrafted rookie, Jalen Daniels, in the Owen four Bucks. Like I don't wanna see that anyways. it ended up being the the more of the two evils. So the Cowboys didn't drop that game. Bucks get their first win. And you know what? I'll leave it at this. Welcome to being a Cowboys fan, guys. We had a great win last week against the Houston Texans. I thought for sure pencil this one in for a win. Baker Mayfield's out. I thought so too. This was the first game that I actually got to sit down and watch and I'm pretty sure me and you can go out there alone with the Cowboys starting eleven defense playing and me and you can pass and catch for about two fifty with three or four touchdowns against this team. I I said Jalen did I said be ready for prime time against the Cowboys. These guys normally play a lot better. It's their it's their one opportunity to really show their skills. We have some of the best defensive linemen that we can't have a we don't have a pass rush. We can't tackle, obviously like I watched Jalen Daniels almost escape five people. We don't we can't cover anyone. Like Jerry, hear me out. I don't know how much you pay but you could pay me a hundred thousand and I can go out there and look stupid and delusional where I don't know what I'm doing and save you some money because this defense is the worst. I thought a Matt Eberflu's defense was worse. Like you couldn't get no worse, but a Christian Parker defense is the god awful like It's horrible. Yeah, it's been it's been tough. As on the defensive side of things, I mean like people are talking about Daron Bland. Sucks. I don't know what's happened with him. Sucks. It seems like it's like the Trayvon Diggs thing where he had one good season, we're so high on him, and then all of a sudden, it's gone. I mean, like he was on release him. He almost broke all the pick six records a couple of seasons ago with Dan Quinn. He used up all his talent that year. Yeah, I d I don't know what's going on there. Why why the fall off has been so hard. Maybe I maybe deep maybe offenses have figured out a way to just exploit them more. but yeah, I mean I don't know why and honestly like there there's the way that they look, there's no way. Like you even if offenses exploited you, like you would be able to fix some things. Like this team looks like they don't know what what the f they're doing. Like they they look like they have blindfold like blindfolds on out there trying to play football. And I also don't want to give I'm not gonna just turn this into a hate on Dak Prescott moment. What do you mean, hate on Dak Prescott? Dak Prescott I mean Say what you want. The Buccaneers defense did have him kind of in a blender. Say what you want. Dak Prescott's a top five quarterback, and it's kind of hard whenever your defense sucks so bad that you have to you put all the pressure on you have to score every time you touch the ball, or you're gonna I'm not gonna turn it into I'm not gonna turn it into I you know, this is a hate Dak Prescott segment. What I'm gonna say, though Is that this falls on the entire Cowboys franchise? Whether you want to blame Jake Ferguson for the interceptions or you want to blame Dak Prescott for the interceptions. The fact that the Buccaneers were even in this game and had a chance to win it and did win it, that falls on everyone. Everyone probably should they probably came into this game thinking, yeah, we just beat the Texans in Houston. We're kind of hot shit. CeeDee Lamb just went off. we're we're rolling right now. Now we got the and four Buccaneers coming into town. Like we're they got a undrafted rookie leading them. Like we're we're we're the B's and knees right now. And then boom, you get beat. Like I I don't know if they just took a week off or what happened, but like they just did not come with the intention. Defense didn't take a week off. The defense says it looked like that all year. Yeah, but I I'm just saying like you know what I'm saying, like they probably it felt like it it wasn't even a trap game. This is a game that you should have won easily. I don't I don't even know what the spread was for I don't even know there was a spread on for this game. Like it should have been a track meet. I mean, I'm a major defensive Cowboys hater right now because they are god awful. But like I don't understand, like I would think, you know, your defense has sucked all year. So you know what? Might as well you what? I would have came into this game and I would have blitzed Jalen Daniels. Starting off, I would have blitzed him until they beat us and put as much pressure on him as possible, being a rookie quarterback. And then if they started beating us and switched it up, but Obviously I don't know I don't know. I don't think Christian Parker he's he can talk good, but whatever defense he's doing is hard. And I also just want to say probably the this is another reason for it too. The Bucks are probably playing very inspired. They're playing for their season in this game. like I said, O and four, if you fall to Owen five, they're pretty much out of any type of playoff contention. So Bucks don't have nothing to lose. Like they are but still the way that the way that the game like honestly, they might be glad I'm not head coach or not the owner of Jerry Jones because why are we going for two in like the third quarter? When did they go for two in the third quarter? Well it may have been early in the fourth, but we went for two instead of kicking the field. Instead of kicking the field goal and we would have tie like I don't understand some of their play calling. I left my I left my softball game at halftime and it was like 10 7 Cowboys. And then I come back at the start of the fourth and it's it was 24 24 ten. I was like, what the what happened? And then yeah. That was that was tough. I'll shout out Bucky Irving. Yeah. Shout out him in the Bucks run game. Yeah. Twenty one carries, 165 yards, and a touchdown there with a long run of 72 yards. So Bucky Irving, he's back in full force. If you have him on your fantasy team, congratulations. Great start there. but yeah, I mean the Cowboys just tough. Honestly, the whole NFC East as a whole was a tough week for him. so yeah, Cowboys lose to the 0 4 Bucks, led by the undrafted free undrafted, I keep the undrafted free agent, undrafted rookie Jalen Daniels. Eagles lose on a last second field goal to the Jags. very rare same kind of sit not the same situation, but this kind of way the Cowboys and the Ravens went down in Mexico City a couple weeks ago. And then the Commanders and Giants tied. So not a team from the NFC East won a game this week and two of them played each other. You know what the good thing about this is, is hopefully Christian Parker sucks through this year and the commanders suck and we can get Dan Quinn back as defensive coordinator. I've I've kind of hoped that too. That's I mean, Dan Quinn had that defense rocking. And what it would be to have him back, especially with how the offense has been playing. Yeah, I think Dan Quinn might be out as a Head coach for the commanders, depending 'cause I mean that's very disappointing. Once again, that also kind of falls on Jade Jaden Daniels. It does. For the way the the clock ran out and the clock management at the end of the game and it went into overtime. Like they had a chance to win it and then they do a run play and didn't have any timeouts, couldn't clock the ball, time just expires. Honestly, if you're a Giants fan, that game probably felt like a win for ya. It's a huge that's a huge one. You had Cam Sky who fumble in overtime and you think, yeah, we're about to win and all of a sudden nope. And then you're like, hopefully we slot the commanders and then you get in a tie. It's like, all right, well at least at least finish out that way. But yeah, Eagles loss. I mean, it's just it's it's tough for anyone in the NFC East. Ethan, I gonna ask you this question. Which NFC East team has been the most disappointing this year? And you might be a little biased. I'd say well, I'd say the Cowboys or the the Eagles. I mean, 'cause them are the them are the two that I mean, let's them are the two that should have been at the top trying I mean Taking the division by storm. Like I'd say the Cowboys, because on paper at the beginning of the year, probably had the better team out of the NFC East. But once again, too, I mean the Eagles have always been great. And I guess without A. J. Brown, it's kind of show that they don't have a real wide receiver one. So I guess you could say the Eagles have been a little but The Eagles didn't even have a wide receiver two in this game. Devontae Smith was out against the Jags. But I'd probably say Saquon Barkley was out. They just lost their two top offensive linemen. Like this was basically Jalen Hurts and a bunch of other guys. Yeah. I'd probably say the Cowboys or the Eagles. Yeah, I would say honestly, I don't even want to say the Giants, because the Giants are leading the division right now. but with some of the injuries they face, after the f after week one, Giants fans were probably very high in what they thought the season was going to be. And then to face all the injuries that they did where they lost their starting quarterback. it just seems like that's the one piece that they're missing now. But they're once again, they're leading the division. Jameis Winston's playing very good. Isaiah Likely's playing very well. Malik Neighbors is playing very well. Like that the Giants are actually performing pretty well. The Eagles, they've lost three in a row. And it's been like the last two losses have like two heartbreaks to the Rams and then to the Jags. Like it's been tough for them. Cowboys, I'll go ahead and say it, very disappointing with what our defense. On the defense side of the ball, Cowboys have been the most de disappointing. From all the different I think we had different we had eight different moves this year and on the defense. And it's still we're just like at the bottom for our defense right now. Yeah. Like that's just and then just the way to lose to an O and four team, like that's just no one lost to a worse team than we did. Yeah, no. Shout out to the Bucks fans, listen to the podcast. Sorry, but you guys were and four. Like let's keep it real. They probably didn't even think they were winning that game. And then the commanders, they just had a bunch of injuries going into it. So overall, the NFC East has become the NFC least, and we're gonna see I mean, we're a quarter of the way through the football season now. So we're gonna see exactly what ends up happening to this division. Here, this is how bad our defense is. Let me we have five total sacks all year. All right. One of our sacks is by our safety, Caleb Downs. That's how bad our pride spot on seven is. Yeah. Is our safety's getting sacks. Like, I don't understand this. I don't know. I this team sucks. He's out. I'm after last last you should have came on last week after that win. You would have been like, we're back. I don't know. If I would have watched the defense play, I probably wouldn't have moving on to some other things here. Monday night football. So like I said, I was at the Logic and G Easy concert on Monday. But I was watching because I had fantasy implications on this game. Actually, there was a guy in a couple rows in front of me. He had the game on his phone. And so as I'm watching the concert, I'm also looking and seeing what Puka Nakub is doing for the Rams. I was like, please, Puka, stop catching the ball. I think he had like I think he had like twenty one targets or something in this game. It was something ridiculous. He is damn good. Seventeen receptions. Yeah, twenty one targets. Yeah, twenty one targets. Twenty four targets. Yeah, it was the most targets since who's the guy? Brandon Marshall for the Broncos back in two thousand nine. I think he had like twenty-eight. which we had just talked about that because of CeeDee Lamb's crazy game against the Texans. I did see to today where Joe Brady came out and said that James Cook will lose playing time if he doesn't get his ball security under control. I don't like that because I have James Cook my fantasy team, so let's not do that, Joe Brady. He's just give a couple more reps in in practice. Yeah. but yeah, so Bills end up winning this game in overtime 37 34. I did w go back and I've I've watched all the highlights from this game. honestly, it was just a it this was a really good game. People are saying it's game of the year, possibly. I I don't know about that much about being game of the year. It would seem like a great game. Yeah, it was a great for a Monday night. football game, this was a really good game. I knew it was gonna be. I Bill's Rams, I mean, let's talk about the Rams for a second. People thought this team might not drop a game. Now they're two and three. Yeah. Like it's but I mean, two, they're their best defensive players on the sideline, right? Miles Garrett's out, yeah. And I did see, I mean, Aaron Donald look started to look a lot better. Like he's getting into game shape and all again. Yeah. And as far as just like the offense for the Rams still looking super explosive. Puka, Devontae, Kyron Williams, Blake Quorum even getting involved. and then Matthew Stafford just once again, he's a veteran, prolific passer. He's moving the ball pretty well. Josh Allen just seemed like he wanted to take over this game at overtime. I should also say the Rams, their defense and off their defense is playing okay. Their offense is playing exceptional. It's been the special teams that's really been killing them. Harrison Meavis, I know there was a missed kick earlier in the game and then the kick gets blocked in overtime to I think that was to win it. and so Harrison Meavis now gets dropped from the Rams. this came out on Monday or on Tuesday. Harrison Meavis got yeah, 'cause the game was on Monday. Harrison Meavis has been dropped. the thicker kicker lives no more, possibly. We'll see if he ends up getting another chance in the NFL, but after they put after he missed a kick, they like panned over to him on the sidelines without his helmet. I'm like, Yeah, you kinda look like a guy named Meebus. Like if I had a picture, what he would look like. I think he came on last year and he was like their savior and now it's I mean it's just like the ebbs and flows of being a kicker. sh Sean McVay came out and was like, Yeah, I'm very, you know, disappointed in the outcome of the game. The guys fought their ass off and we still can't get a win on that. Like I think Part of that was directed towards the kicker. Maybe they're using the kicker as a scapegoat. I also saw that they were signing the Saints kicker Blake Groupie, which I guess we can get Matt's thoughts on that next week when he's back. he has some thoughts on Blake Groupie doesn't I don't know if he's too too high on him, but might be might might just be time to switch things up a little bit for the Rams. yeah. Speaking of switching things up, there was also a fight after the game. So I don't this wasn't on any of the national broadcasts. This is what I think it was on Sports Center, which Sc Scott Ben Pelt was presenting on the sideline. but Rams left tackle. Alaric Jackson is suspended two games without pay for punching Bill's outside linebacker Bradley Chubb. And honestly, shout out to Bradley Chubb for not like going back at him. He just kinda like was put his hands up and was like got out his teammates pulled him out. Like that's really smart for him 'cause he knows like the repercussions. If you do throw a punch, like you're gonna get in trouble. Now the Rams will have to figure out what to do at left tackle, but Sounds like the Bills got the win on and off the field with this one. Yeah, that's I didn't see that till actually today earlier. And there's probably some jawing going back and forth and then Yeah, I imagine outside linebacker, left tackle. You just you just lose a game and a game that you should have won. You had a chance to win and I'm pretty sure Bradley Chubb wasn't like saying the best things to him. But I don't know, I stand with Bradley Bradley Chubb. I'm a big Bradley Chubb guy. Yeah, I then got to meet him one time. What do what? so when he was with Denver, he when he tore his ACL that year, he used he came here to get like ACL surgery and checkup and all. And it was pretty cool 'cause actually me and my brother were meeting my aunt and uncle in Utah. And so We were at Southwest or we were flying on Southwest at Love Field and he was in front of us and he flew on the plane with us from Dallas to Denver. Could you tell it was Bradley Chubb? Yeah. So you're like big guy. Yeah. So big guy, dude had two phones and I'm like me and my brother are talking, I'm like, Man, I'm like, This guy has to be important. I mean, he had nice luggage and all and it's like like, you know, you You see D when you're like NFL money. Yeah. And he's like it's like I was telling my brother, I'm like, dude, this guy's gotta be important and all. So my like me and my brother are behind him in the line, like to board the plane. And my brother like looks over and was like, Yeah, I think it's that's Bradley Chubb. And I'm like, Yeah, that actually does look like him. And the crazy thing is we sat right behind him on the plane and dude's the nicest guy ever. The funny thing was was I think he actually broke some news by accident or tweeted something because Adam Shepner called him. No, about something else, because Adam Shepner called him. I think when we landed or before, it was like, yo, it was basically like, Hey man, like I was supposed to break that news here in a minute and he he was like, Well, I didn't know. He was like, Every I've was getting told it and all, so I figured it was already out there. But it was it was pretty cool. We stopped out like after we got off the plane 'cause we had to get onto our other flight to go to Utah and my brother at the time was in middle school or whatever, playing football. So he was like asking him questions and all and Bradley Chubb s sat there and talked to us, took pictures and all and was a really nice guy. So Yeah, shout out to Bradley Chubb for that program. I'll forever be a Bradley Chubb guy, so Heck yeah. Pretty cool. Speaking of breaking news that probably shouldn't have been broken as early as it was, Marvin Harrison Jr. was traded. That's all that we got. Marvin Harrison Jr. had been traded. That came out on Sunday. from Adam Schefter, actually. And then we found out after the games concluded that Marvin Harrison Jr. had been traded from the Cardinals to the Texas Texans. And yeah, should be teaming up with his old college teammate from Ohio State, CJ Stroud. And yeah, now I think I think there was also a couple picks included. I think Houston also got a seventh round in a seven side. So Houston, I think, got the seventh and then returned, they gave a second and a what was it, six? I think a six, yeah. Yeah, yeah, for the for the upcoming draft. So honestly Probably fair trade. Marvin Harris Jr.'s been a little disappointing on the Cardinals as far. Now I'm gonna be interested to see where his value increases coming back with CJ Stroud. I think that helps. I mean, having a teammate that he played with in college, so their connection, their chemistry will be there, not probably right away. And two, I mean, you have him that you have to worry about now, you have Nico Collins. Yeah, and then Nico Collins is still the number one option, I believe. So I don't that's not getting touched. And then who's their other receiver that's pretty good. Houston. there was Tank Dell, but he's coming back from injury. Yeah. So once he gets out there, I mean he was a scary guy. Now coming back off the injury that he's coming off of, what he d he like snapped his his whole knee was t the entire knee was disintegrated. Yeah. So depending on how good he is, but I mean that Houston offense is getting a little bit scarier. Yeah, I think Ad Marvison Junior, I think yeah it Nico Collins, obviously he's gonna be the number one option. He's gonna take whatever number one corner the defense is throwing at him. Like that's gonna be the main focal point. Let's throw in Marvin Harrison Jr. I mean, he was a top pick for a reason. He still has the skill set. Let's and Arizona, he was their number one. Like he was their best receiver by far. Yeah. And I don't think he was ready for that. So I mean, you have the best corner on him. I mean, he's still learning. Well, so they I think there was a little bit of problem with him in Arizona because I I was reading an article today. I think he was a little upset about Michael Wilson for the Cardinals. He had just gotten paid and he was kind of be treating like the number one. Like if you have him on your fantasy team, a lot more people are sharing Michael Wilson because he's just been getting fed targets left and right for Arizona. And then you also have Trey McBride who takes away some targets. You got Jeremiah Love, he just added to it. So I mean there's a good young core there of some explosive playmakers. Marvel Jr.'s been disappointing up to this point. Then there was also a story that came out that he was requesting a robotic arm, like a jug machine, but it's a robotic arm that throws passes to you and it you can make it mimic like certain NFL quarterbacks, whether it's a spin on the ball, the type of arc, the trajectory. It's really good for wide receivers to practice with. I honestly didn't even know this technology existed. This is the first time hearing about this, but I feel like every team should have this. So this arm was about fifty thousand dollars. And he had requested the Cardinals to get it for him. The Cardinals declined it, and so he ended up taking his own money and bought the robotic arm himself. Now he's gonna take that arm to Houston with him and he could probably, you know, put in CJ Stroud's like his requirements or whatever, the height, whatever, the spin rate, the type of throw, the power on it. but it's just interesting. I I guess he kind of knew that he was possibly gonna get traded 'cause he had put that request in and d they never s said anything and then Also paying the other receivers, like it kind of almost seemed like the writing was on the wall that they weren't ready to move on I mean, and two, what are what is Arizona? I mean, they are not terrible this year, but it's probably there's a there's a clip of the podcast where we thought they were gonna lose every game this year. I mean, they're one and four, so I mean they are pretty terrible. But I mean they gotta kinda rebuild and move some pieces around. Yeah, their only win came on the O and five Los Angeles Chargers. Week one. Yeah, week one. And I mean I If I'm Marvin Harrison, I'm probably I'm happy to be going to Houston with I'd say a better quarterback and CJ Stroud. You know him. You have chemistry. I honestly I think Marvin Harrison, I think you bring up a good point. I think he's happy about this trade because he's going from a team that wasn't really in contention. Like I think their GM even sick came out and said, like, yeah, we're gonna build around our young core. That's where our focus is right now. And now you go to a team that was in the playoffs last year. The offense was probably one of the biggest problems for their for their team last year. I mean, like you could say like their defense once again, dogs over in the Houston Texans. but now that o now that offense is starting to get some real pieces around it. Marvin Harrison Jr., you we haven't seen really much of them yet in the NFL of like, you know, what we saw in college, but I think him teaming up with the college teammate CJ Stroud, just gonna be on a better, you know, win now team. I think this could be something good and increases value. Yeah. I mean Arizona has I'm just looking at some of their stats here. Their leading rusher, Jeremiah Love, gonna take a guess at how many rushing guards he has. I know average a game. He's at like forty nine. So I mean, probably two hundred for the year. Two forty five. Yeah. Which is I feel like is pretty bad. Which I kind of expected that with Jacob Brissett. He's someone that that moves the ball around, but Yeah, I mean, let's see. What is Jacoba Brissett only has sixty two yards rushing this year. So I mean they don't have a run game at all. I mean Tyler Ad Algier has a hundred and nineteen. So I mean I guess I don't know. Yeah. No, it just seems like the Cardinals are in in sell mode. If I'm yeah. If I'm Marvin Harrison, I'm ecstatic too. And I wonder if they asked him, I wonder if they were like, Hey, what teams would you want to go to? 'Cause it kind of seems No. I don't think you don't think so? No, only because they've just like made him they just benched him for the game against the Lions. They were like, Yeah, we're not gonna we're not gonna start yeah. When it didn't come out like where he was getting traded to. This week they benched him? Or no, last week when they were trying to find out. But I feel I mean, I feel like they knew who they were trading him. I mean, you gotta A lot of people expected the Texans. If you're if you're the Texans, you don't want him going out and playing yesterday or Sunday and or a couple days ago and risking it get him getting hurt. So like I feel like he I feel like he had a little bit of influence on where they were running because it's kinda ironic that he gets to team up with his old teammate in CJ Stroud. Well I that's why I think the Texans approached the trade. I don't think it was the Cardinals. But I think the Cardinals were seeking trade. I I think the Cardinals I don't were actually open. All right, moving on from a one in four team to another one in four team. This is just real quick, and I just want to troll Matt for when he listens to this podcast. the Saints are not going marching in right now. Owner Gail Benson has publicly come out and criticized the team, saying that the Saint the Saints one in four start was not acceptable and has vowed to deliver better results to the New Orleans fans. Matt, there you Your owner's got in front of it. If Jerry Jones came out and said this, I'd be like, all right, show me some actual action though. Here's my thing is does he really have to come out and say that? Like, does he really think that fans are satisfied with one and four? Like he has to come out and be like, this is unacceptable. We need No, but normally this shows problem. This shows problems in the organization. If the owner's coming out and publicly criticizing Yeah, like honestly It's kinda your fault, dog. Like, why don't you go out and trade people and get us better people? Like Yeah. Honestly, Matt would be like, Yeah, obviously guys, we need a better start than I mean this guy is saying stuff that it's like, Well, no shit. Like, you're the man that makes the moves and all let's go out and trade for some better players and get some better people in here. Like Yeah. No, Matt is Matt has just he's He's made it public his his frustrations with Gail Benson. But yeah, I just wanted I just wanna troll him a little bit. But Ethan, let's move into some of the week six games, some of the top games that I found. The game tonight. The game tonight, yeah. Thursday night football. Seahawks at the Broncos. I think this is gonna be a real defensive game. Now cut to the part where JSN goes for thirty again and in fantasy football and Turns out this was a offensive blowout game. But yeah, I think depending on the weather that's gonna be in Denver, outdoor stadium, Seahawks also coming in. I mean, Seahawks probably just had like one of the best games of the year against the 49ers. 49ers stay undefeated. but I mean, now you're going into the Broncos, also very good defensive team. And I think the Seahawks could easily win this game. I don't know. I I'm going the other way. I think the Broncos, I mean, Sean Payton's kind of took an over or played. It does seem like the Broncos find a way to win at home. They have a great defense at home. I I wouldn't be surprised. I mean they're three and two. They're not like they're not bad. It's like people think that they're not great because I think Bo Nicks has struggled a little bit this year, but in that offense, but I'm like, I wouldn't be surprised if they pull it out. Yeah, I mean, don't get me wrong. The Broncos they're good, right? They're just at a stacked division in the AFC West. the The Seahawks, on the other hand, I mean, they won the Super Bowl for a reason. They still got a lot of those key pieces around. And I think a lot of people they slept on the Seahawks and I the Seahawks, any game that they've lost has been close. Right? They've yeah, they lost to they didn't lose to the Patriots. They beat the Patriots, right? Yeah. Open and night. No. Yeah. they they've lost to the Commanders and they've lost to the Forty Niners. That's right, 'cause the Commanders game was a nasty weather game. Well going back Okay, I'm gonna go back to Denver here. If you can beat the Seahawks, you kinda actually need to beat the Seahawks and the Cardinals. So you have the Seahawks, Cardinals, then you go Chiefs, Panthers, Raiders, Steelers, and then a easy win with Dolphins, Jets. I mean, if you could beat S the Seahawks and the Cardinals rolling into Kansas City, and I'd say the Panthers are actually pretty decent. So I'd say the Panthers isn't a pushover game. But if you're gonna find out the Panthers are playing the Eagles this week. But back on back on Seahawks, depending how this ages, JSN was limited in practice. So hopefully he plays this week. Yeah, not limited with an ankle injury. moving on here to the next game here, Ethan. Texans versus the Jaguars in London. This is the Jags back to back game. Back to back game in London. They were just there last week playing Eagles. He played the Texans this week. Once again, Jaguars, just team of London. I'm I'm gonna take the Jags. Texans, yeah, they just got Marvin Harrison Jr., but I don't think he's yeah, definitely not playing in this game. If he is, it's gonna be very limited. I don't think I mean, honestly, it's kinda unfair for the Jags to stay there two weeks in a row in game. I don't know if they actually did or not. I just what I would imagine they did. Surely you stay there. I mean, if they didn't, that is wild to me, but I feel like you shouldn't be able to do back to back games because it's not fair for Houston coming in there, having to deal with the time difference, being like jet lag and all that. Research shows, yes, the Jaguar stayed in London the entire week. Yeah, so that's to me that's just a little unfair. Yeah. Avoid back-to-back trans transatlantic flights, gives their team extra time to practice. And also they're doing renovations to their home stadium in Jacksonville. So I think that's another reason why they're just out. next one here, Bears at the Falcons. This is the noon game. Now, a couple quarterback questions for this game. This will depend on if this is actually a good game or not. Michael Penix has a rib injury that is not considered serious and is listed as questionable per Adam Schefter. and then Caleb Williams, quarterback for the Bears, could be back as soon as this week. Probably looking more like after this week. but he is close, and that's from head coach Ben Johnson. So depending on which two of those quarterbacks play, that is the team I would take. Sure. Surely they don't play too Yeah, I I don't I think they'd go back to who's the Cowboys quarterback they have Cooper Rush. Yeah. I wouldn't go back to I'd re sign I'd sign someone off the free agency or something. Yeah, I think two or three two passes last week and one of those was the the game losing interception. But yeah, Michael Penix has obviously been the better quarterback. Now once again, he's got that rib injury. We'll see. I think my my my prediction is Michael Penix plays in this game and Caleb Williams does not play in this game. I think Caleb Williams waits one more week. Which is wild because he just I mean what what was his injury? He didn't tear us like hamstring or quad or whatever, right? Like it was just it was a grade two pool. Like carted off the field. Yeah. But but if But hey, but guess what I mean, he was showering with the team the week later. If it's Michael Penix versus a backup quarterback for the Bears, I don't know which backup quarterback that'd be 'cause Tyson Bejay got benched and then Case Keenum. Case Keenum got I think he was concussed or something, but if it's if it's Michael Penix versus a backup quarterback for the Bears, give me the Falcons. If it's Caleb Williams and Michael Pennox out there, I'd probably go at the Bears then. Yeah, I mean, yeah. Although the Falcons defense has been playing really good too, so. They have. It's just as long as I mean, honestly, if you want to win, if you're Falcons GM, you might as well try to trade Tua to the Bears. Like, hey, we know your troubles, and Tua will help win the game for the Atlanta. Honestly, I think Ben Johnson would unlock Tua. I think I think Ben Johnson would let that. He'd like he'd he'd make Tua great again. That would actually be interesting to see. Either him or even Kyle Shanahan. He's the quarterback guru too. I don't think I don't think to I think Tua is fixable with the issues he's having. moving on here to the Sunday night game and you know, if you're a Cowboys fan, tune in if you want. Cowboys at the Packers at Lambo. The Michael Parsons the Micah Parsons revenge game here. However, Michael Parsons will not be back this week. there's possibility he comes back the next week after or or two weeks from now. But Michael Parsons is out in this game. another injury concern, CeeDee Lamb, wide is here for the Cowboys. His health. He's believed to be dealing with a quad bruise, which is why he wasn't not as big of a participant in the loss to the Bucks. It's why he had the two catches for like nine yards or something. But it is not considered to be serious, and that is per Ian Rapaport. So CeeDee Lamb should be back. I expect this game to be a shootout, man. I'm gonna tell you what, Green Bay has impressed me. They they curb stomped the Bears last week. They're gonna curb stomp us. They got three dogs on that offense. They got Jordan Love, who's obviously been facilitate the ball. It is the Jordan Love that we have expected to see. Like he is a veteran pres presence now. Like he is the real deal. They also have Christian Watson, who's been an absolute dog. If you haven't been fantasy, congratulations. You've been doing some you've been doing some work. He's in my flex right now. Here's Ethan's fantasy tip of the week here. If you don't have the running back, Lloyd for Green Bay, and he's on your waiver wire, go get him 'cause he'll run for two hundred yards on this sh shitty defense we have. And then my third dog on this offense is Matthew Golden. So I'm not even gonna get into the running game because that is where Green Bay's lack is the running game. If they can get the running bay run running game unlocked like it'll be a problem. Lloyd this week. Marsh I think it's Marshawn Lloyd. Marshawn Lloyd has not been in has not been impressive as of this far in the season. which he was last week. He actually played pretty well last week. I think that was more of it was like a blowout. Yeah. I think he had two touchdowns. How many games have you watched of the Cowboys defense? I've watched them all in four other I watched I missed the first half of the last game, but Actually, holy but I did want to see one thing. What is the weather in Green Bay this week? That is the only reason I could see this game not being a shootout. Sunday we're good. Sunday it's gonna be just six high of sixty four, low of forty three, so good football weather. We're not a w we're not a weather report podcast, but just gotta know 'cause it is an outdoor stadium. You gotta check these things. I am I could have swore Marshawn Lloyd went off in fantasy this week. He did. He had like 16 points. I'm trying to The problem was it was a blowout. So it was kind of like he was his own stat padding where they I mean the fourth quarter was pretty much over. I mean, he wasn't that impressive. He had 10 carries for 31 yards, two touchdowns, though. That's what did it for him. Yeah. And then receiving wise, he had one catch for six yards. But I guess if I had a pick in this game, I'm gonna take Green Bay just being at home and just the way that offense is rolling right now, and the Cowboys defense just scares me. I'd love for the Cowboys to win this game, but I'd just worry about prime time. As long as we don't get another tie. it was about a year ago, I think in September, whenever these teams played, and it was the it was the scoregami tie. I think it was like forty forty or something like that. So we could see pro possibly another similar score to that situation going on. Maybe forty two thirty five or something. ask me my thoughts on who's gonna win. Ethan, who's your thoughts? I I win. I w I will never pick. The Cowboys as long as this defense of coordinator and every defensive staffer is here. I'll pick I'll pick the Cowboys again. I mean, like they got the Cardinals in three weeks. They lost to a one four team with a backup quarterback. They got the Titans November twenty second, dude. Titans first win of the year comes. Comes the Cowboys. Mark that on the pocket. is there any other games I'm missing? Maybe that's it. We need to go back to the archives and delete The episode at the beginning of the year where I said the Cowboys were going to go to the Super Bowl. I rescind that with everything in me. We'll let the league know. Put them on notice. Yeah. All right. I think that's it for the NFL next. We'll come back and do some of the top college football games going on. Watch now that I said that, the Cowboys won't lose a game this year. Going undefeated. All right. And we're back to do some college football. Starting off, Ethan, a little bit about the AP poll, I know it doesn't matter. I just like to go through the poll a little bit. All right. So we already talked about a little bit about Texas being upset by Oklahoma. So there is a number a new number one team in the land according to the AP poll. It is Georgia. Georgia is number one. Notre Dame is two. Texas falls all the way to seven. There's just a couple other upsets, but I mean overall the top twenty-five. Once again, it doesn't matter for the AP poll. All that matters is what happens when the college football playoffs start. But there are some top games going on in week seven of college football a little bit. Number four, Ohio State is going into Indiana. Number five, Indiana. It's the eleven AM game here. Ohio State, obviously their one loss being a Texas. Indiana is undefeated. Yeah, but I'll go ahead. I'll say Indiana beat Ohio State last year in the Big Ten Championship. To win their first Big Ten and I don't even know how long we talked about on this podcast, but should be a pretty good game here. I think it's gonna be a good test for Indiana. Yeah, I think Indiana loses this one. Indiana doesn't look as great as they have in the past years. I mean, I watched Indiana and Northwestern, and Northwestern should have beat them two weeks ago, I think it was. State is favored in this one, three and a half. Yeah, I think I also go with Ohio State in this one. This would be a good test on the road for him too. I mean, this is once again, these two juggernaut teams. This is the first real team that Indiana has played also. So I don't know. Nebraska was a real team. That game was close. Yeah, but Nebraska was undefeated. Yeah, I would Yeah. I'll s I'll go with you there. You're right. Nebraska was a decent team there. Real team. But this is a true test here. Yeah. Probably gonna be some some seeding implications. I think both these teams probably make it to the college football playoffs. This will probably just be for some seeding. They definitely make it there. And I mean, this is will be they'll see each other again also in the Big Ten championship. Yeah, they could play three times. moving on here to the next game here, two thirty kickoff. Number six Alabama at number fourteen Tennessee. Now, Alabama was robbed by Georgia last week. There was some penalty issues that were was no call that happened. And honestly, Tennessee, they lost earlier to Texas this season already. And I would just say like this is just a good rivalry game. This is just some bad SEC blood between these two fan bases. Obviously I'm gonna roll with Alabama and Keelon Russell. I think they're they're playing very well. they played Georgia very close. Like Georgia's number one team in the country now. Like Alabama's sure they can hang with them. but don't Don't sleep on Rocky Top here, all right. Rocky Top Tennessee might have a shot and could possibly pull it out. Yeah. I think Alabama's finally heating up, like getting rolling at the right time here. And I think they're about to go on I think they may win the big or the SEC possibly. Yeah, Alabama is a eight and a half point favorite in this game, so that's a lot. But it is in Tennessee though, so That's where, yeah. That's That's the only thing that worries me. Yep. And then game that I'm ready for. This is going to be my game of the week, calling it here. Number two, Notre Dame, Asterix next to that one, number that number two. At number eight, BYU. Also Asterisk there. And I say asterisks because both these teams finally get to play somebody. They have played pretty much nobody. They are undefeated. It's going to be a night game. And I feel like this game. Almost kinda like what happened with Notre Dame and Miami last year where there was some some college football playoff stuff that came up later. It's like this game's gonna have that same type of college football playoff implications. Like we're gonna look back at this game and go, no, Notre Dame lost this game to BYU. They're out of the college football playoffs, or BYU lost to Notre Dame, they should definitely not be a higher seed than Notre Dame. Yeah. So th to me, this is more of a scary game for Notre Dame. than BYU because Notre Dame, they're not in a conference. They really don't, I don't think, play anyone this year. Or they haven't up to this point. I think they play Miami at some point. yeah, they are going to play Miami. They'll play SMU. Those are their last next two ranked matchups. So yeah, I mean, but if they lose this game and then It's hard not for me to say they lose to Miami the way Miami's playing this year. Like, you're out. I mean, you're you're probably done. I think this has more implications for BYU. Not only BYU, I think the Big Twelve as a whole. This has more implications. BYU will have to play They play Utah. That's their la other ranked matchup. And then whoever they play in the Big Twelve championship. Because a lot of people are projecting them to win the Big Twelve. Which is Yeah. Probably gonna be Texas Tech or Oklahoma State. I think them two are in the championship then BYU. Does BYU does BYU play Oklahoma State? No, that's why I think it's gonna be BYU or Utah. because both those are undefeated, and then it will be the winner of Oklahoma State, Texas Tech when those teams play. I think that's gonna be for the Big Twelve Championship. Yeah. We're gonna look back at this Notre Dame game and whenever the Big Twelve champion gets ranked, we're gonna look back and see how the BYU did against Notre Dame and then whoever plays BYU or Utah or whatever the n in the Big Twelve championship, how do they pr how do they how where's the measuring stick there? So I think that's where we're gonna see some implications on this game. I think this game has I don't really matter who wins, it's more like how both these teams look against each other. Right. Yeah. It can't be a blowout. It has to be a close game. Being the Texas Tech fan And us being Notre Dame haters. I think we did a two hour episode last year of of hating on Notre Dame. I think I'll go ahead and say speak for both of us. We're both going to take BYU in this game. and Notre Dame is a ten and a half point favorite in this game. Honestly though, I don't know. I think I would take BYU. Well, I think I'd take Notre Dame though. So yeah, Notre Dame probably is the better team, but for as far as Big Twelve applications, we want BYU to win this game. I mean, I don't know. I want them to lose. No, we want them to win so when Tech plays them later, it's a bigger ranked win. I mean we want BYU built up as high as possible. And then if if Tech does lose a BYU, at least Notre Dame goes down. But I'd rather beat a BYU team with a couple losses that are deflated that don't have anything to look forward to. I c I want Notre Dame outside the top twelve. I mean I do too, but I'd rather I'd rather play especially how Tech's playing right now, like not very good. I don't want BYU to think they have If Notre Dame doesn't lose this game Notre Dame doesn't lose this game, they're gonna be in the top twelve. Unless they just lose like five in a row. But no, Ethan, we I I get what you're saying, yes. We know we want we want them as high as possible. Yeah. No, I farm yes. A logical standpoint, we want them high as possible. But I'm just We want that game built up as high as possible. We want people to be like, shit, the fucking high ranked Big Twelve championship. All right, let me see it. I just get nervous when tech plays right now because of Yeah, you're a little rocky. You're gonna try to get it. I get We're gonna talk about Texas Tech here a little bit. All right. We're gonna talk about Texas Tech here a little bit, but I get you go but hey, let's look at me. We want BYU to win this game. We do. We want BYU to win. We need it for the Big Twelve. Go Kooks. Go go okay. I don't know if it's going that far. That was we don't have to do all that. okay. We're not that far. All right, next one here. Number thirteen, Missouri at number nine, Old Miss. Two thirty game here. Another ranked matchup. honestly, the only thing I know is Old Miss at home playing against a ranked opponent. We've already seen what happens when LSU came into town. Missouri's also been playing pretty well too. I mean, they I mean, don't get me wrong, these are two good SEC teams and possibly like this could also be for a college football playoff spot later on when you look at these two teams. I'm gonna take Old Miss in this game, but I would not be shocked. This seems like these two teams are very balanced. I'd take Old Miss, but I would I would be shocked if Missouri won no. Just 'cause of how good Ole Miss is playing right now. Like As far as running game, I think Mi Missouri has the has the upper hand as far as passing game, give it to Old Miss. Yeah. And Ole Miss, and it looks like that's the agreement. Ole Miss is a six point favorite in this game. Ole Miss's defense is I feel like way better as well. Yep. Another okay, back to some big twelve here, Ethan. Here we go. Number eighteen Oklahoma State at number twenty Houston. Once again, dude, we want we want Oklahoma State. I don't actually I don't know who we want to win this game. I know a bunch of our friends are Oklahoma State. That's that's that's a crazy I would love Oklahoma State to have another loss. Just because I know like Oklahoma State scares me, especially they they scare me. We'll we'll be boots on the ground for the Oklahoma State tech game. We will. We need to get some interviews going and stuff. Yeah, we'll do some. We'll I I think I as long as I remember to take as long as I remember to charge my microphones this time when we go to the tailgate. Right. And we're gonna be in still water, so it's gonna be it's gonna be good. But we're in enemy territory. Well yeah. gimme Oklahoma State in this game. I think their offense is rolling, obviously. But see I don't know. What me Yeah, Oklahoma State's but they have glimphed I mean, they have I don't know. I feel like this could be a trap game for Like Houston lost the tech, has looked good in some parts, but haven't, and then Oklahoma State has kind of teetered on being really good and then kind of looking a little Oklahoma State ish. Yeah, and Houston's really needing this game to keep their season alive. I 'Cause I mean, after this game they play Utah. So they need to win one of these games. Yeah. Like last week, Oklahoma State obviously it was forty two twenty eight, but like the first half of the game, Oklahoma State did not look that impressive. Yep. Like I don't know. I just So you're taking Houston in this one? No, I'm taking Oklahoma State, but I wouldn't be surprised if Houston wins. I'm just saying like Yeah, Houston I mean Houston's the favorite in this. Houston's a four and a half point favorite in this game, which I that actually seems like a lot. That does. For it's in Houston. Yeah, but Oklahoma State's like once again, AP poll means nothing. These rankings mean nothing. Oklahoma State's ranked two spots ahead of one. Yeah. All right, moving on here. And this game is not a ranked-on-ranked matchup, but I do need to talk about it here for a little bit. Final game here of the college football playoffs. cost college football playoff. Finals final game of the college football playoffs. Week seven pre what is it? Week six, week seven preview. Get my weeks mixed up. Arizona State at number ten Texas Tech. Now, if you're a Texas Tech fan, you remember last year when we lost Arizona State at Arizona State. That we had a backup quarterback coming into play too. So I'm also hurt. Yeah, now he's now he's the starter in this game. Yeah. But I obviously I'm going for tech. I'm just I wanted to bring that up because last year this was one of the parts of our season where we got upset and we got field storm. But Texas Tech is a fourteen and a half point favorite in this game. Arizona State is three and two. They're one and one in the Big Twelve. So I think these it might it might play as close. It might be a close game. Yeah. I yeah, I feel like it's gonna be a close game. Here's the thing that worries me is which Will Hammond has started to look like he's getting more comfortable, getting more I think that that leg is actually starting to feel a hundred percent. I mean the first two game let's be honest, he this was the quickest recovery I think by anyone ever thought. And having to rush back and play, I don't think he was a hundred percent. And I feel like after last week and all kind of watching him play, he looked a little bit more comfortable. And I feel like he's gonna like hopefully we pick up from here. Yeah. And I mean Tex is gonna be well rested coming in from a bye week, so should be good. Also another notable game I saw here, Florida at number seven, Texas. Yeah. Florida could possibly I don't know. Being at Texas, I'm I think Texas is gonna win that one. Ten half point favorites gonna be bouncing back from OU. We'll see what happens. Gotta keep the wheels on the wagon. But Florida's gonna be bouncing back from who did they lose to last week? Did they lose to Missouri or that was two weeks ago? I thought they lost last week or this last week. yeah, they lost to South Carolina. Yeah, that was big upsetting. So I mean both teams are coming off of losses, so and have probably something to prove. So we'll see. some other ones here. Honestly, I wanna just shout out Kentucky. they've moved up to number fifteen, but they just took down LSU. LSU season might be over as far as college football playoffs. They play number sixteen Mississippi State this week. Yeah, that would be a good that would be a good game too. but I honestly like I think LSU's if you ever if you watch the Saban documentary, it talks about like that first season where Sabin was at at Alabama, kind of seen that same thing with Lane Kiffin where it's like he the the class that he's thrown together, it isn't like his true recruiting class. He didn't get a full recruiting cycle I think this is something where LSU, I was kind of saying, like, it's probably gonna take a year or two before Lane Kifton builds that program. It's kind of what took with Old Miss. but I think there was just so many expectations with this team. LSU is a 14 point favorite against Mississippi State. So yep, that should be all the top games from college football week seven that are coming up. Moving on here, Ethan, let's get into our final segment here. The MLB, the playoffs are still continuing. We're down to our final four teams. Final four, it's a best of seven now. starting off in the NLCS, Dodgers and Brewers. Brewers have taken a two-game lead on the Dodgers. Possibly going to be able to break up the three-peat for the Dodgers. I hope so. And I let's break new or not breaking news, but alerting news, which is I think the Dodgers. Superstar has become human. Shoe. Shoe Otani over the last twenty four games has a batting average of one fifty six, thirty six strikeouts, zero home runs, and only one RBI. So he is in a major slump. As someone looking at that stat, I would be worried because that means he's about to bounce back. I mean, yeah, but There's no way to show Hey Otani. But you would think no way that he would go down like this. Exactly. Like this. Like to begin with, though, you wouldn't think that superhuman would never do this, but he has. Like he's showing us that he's human. But that's where that's exactly when he's about to come back and be non-human again. Especially the series going back to LA. Which I did see too that They said they may kind of bench him and let him s rest, like sit a couple like a game or two. no, they don't there's no way. Which was surprising, but I think actually I think I did see Dave Roberts came out and said Otani is in the lineup for w game three. Yeah. So maybe they're gonna give him I did see on I think it was a bleach report that I seen. I think it's more credit to the Brewers. they got absolutely after in the first two games against the Dodgers starters. I think Yashinobo Yamamoto, it was like his quickest out of a game that he's ever pitched. I think he was out of there in like three innings or something. So the Brewers, the bats have been hot as well, too. And once again, they won their two games at home. It's not a series until the road team wins a game. So they're gonna have to go into LA now, they're gonna have to try and steal a game there. moving on over to the ALCS, and that game is we're currently watching game two right now between the Guardians and Rays. Cleveland has a one game lead right now in the series. but look sunk. Tampa Bay is up three zero. I think it's like in the fifth inning right now. So top of the fifth, two outs. I think overall I think these are pretty good series. I know I was rooting for the White Sox and Brewers to match up or something, or White Sox Cubs. but overall I'm I've been watching it. Honestly, shout out to the MLB. It's been pretty good on the way they spaced out these games. So I thought maybe there wasn't gonna be a game tonight. And then they ended up having it was game two of Guardians in Tampa Bay. So and I think When this podcast comes out, it'll be game three for them. I think they have a day off tomorrow. But Ethan, since Matt's not here, let me get your World Series predictions. for the final four teams. We'll go Tampa Bay Brewers, Milwaukee. Okay, and who wins that? I'd say Milwaukee. I feel like Milwaukee has kind of the better Like it's the team of Destiny. Yeah. And I would love to see Christian Yelich win a A World Series. Yeah, I'm gonna go I I'm gonna change it up here a little bit. The Guardians have kind of been a little fun too. I know I was rooting for the White Sox and the Guardians beat but it seems like the Guardians have been kind of they're just like a fun, fun little team. All right. They're not like the biggest, baddest or anything, but I think I'm also going for the Brewers and now I I want the Brewers to win it as well. They have, but I haven't didn't they win it a couple years back? Or no, they went a couple years back when Chicago won. Yeah, that that was when Chicago broke their hundred year streak or something. Yeah. So I mean they've been I feel like t I mean Tampa Bay hasn't been in a little bit that I can remember. Yeah, they're always just a decent ball club. They're always just they're always just in it. And I don't know if I like they're wearing their Devil Rays jerseys right now. I don't know if I like the color on the lettering, but I think honestly, I I think it's a coin toss between these two teams, the the Guardians and Tampa Bay. But I don't believe what never mind. I Tampa Bay played in the 2020 World Series. That's what it was. They lost to the Dodgers. Dodgers, yeah. I think that was in Globes. Yeah. Globe Life. COVID playoffs here. Yeah. but with that, we can get into closing out the show. Ethan, thank you again for joining us. Stepping in as a co host. You one of the best soldiers of Birdie Pod. We got you a hat.
