- 0:10What does the nanny do? OK, so we're done.
- 0:13Goodbye. You.
- 0:16Shut it off. Do not twist my words.
- 0:19Do not make me a victim, sweetie.
- 0:21Just look at the mountain. That's what you.
- 0:23Saw that day just the knife in
- 0:29and the sacrifices that I made
- 0:48Welcome back to My Sister Wives Podcast Part 2 of Season 6,
- 0:51episode 15, While the Wives are away.
- 0:54Ellipsis In the first part of this episode, we had the sister
- 0:57wives taking a road trip to San Francisco to do some dress
- 1:01shopping for their upcoming non recommitment ceremony.
- 1:05Kody is left at home alone with his children to babysit them on
- 1:08his own. Well, of course, with the help
- 1:10of Aspen, the most responsible
- 1:15wives have watched Robyn try on some dresses at a store where
- 1:19no one could fit into the outfits except for Robyn.
- 1:23And you let us know that magenta
- 1:27everyone of every skin tone type
- 1:32Thinking about it, I wasn't making a joke there.
- 1:35It looks wonderful on everybody.
- 1:36The more I thought about it after saying it, it really is
- 1:40one of those colors that compliments people.
- 1:43It a lot of people this is it. I was like, honestly, I've had a
- 1:52just this bright pink fuchsia color.
- 1:56And I'm like, God, that would look good on me.
- 1:57But I don't want to pull the trigger on anything too
- 2:00expensive because what if it shows up and it doesn't look
- 2:01good on me? It doesn't fit my body shape, my
- 2:04weird shape. Oh God.
- 2:06Well, as a northerner, I get super, super pasty, don't you
- 2:11know? And I get a little see through
- 2:13myself in the winter. So I do like a fuchsia shirt
- 2:18when it comes to be February, March, and we're still dragging
- 2:22on through the winter months here in the Northern hemisphere.
- 2:28It's a nice contrast to the blue
- 2:31your veins that you can see it.
- 2:33Really. Is really truly.
- 2:35Well, to kick off the second part of the episode, we're going
- 2:46The neighbors are Deidre and Bill, who we have not met yet.
- 2:53We did. She was one of the neighbors
- 2:55that actually showed up to the graduation party.
- 2:57Oh gosh, I can't believe my amnesia is happening right now.
- 3:01That makes no sense.
- 3:03Why don't I remember Deidre? She's not the toothless Nelly
- 3:06that lives down the block at the
- 3:09No, no, no. Deirdre has a pool and she lives
- 3:14by the cul-de-sac. We're we're working our way up
- 3:18here. And as far as I could tell, she
- 3:20seemed to have most of her teeth.
- 3:21So no jokes about kicking out her teeth in this episode.
- 3:25She's not going to kick out the children's teeth.
- 3:29No, no, no, not Deirdre. That joke was so poorly executed
- 3:33by me. I love that it's burned into our
- 3:35minds. Oh my gosh.
- 3:36Sure is. Kody volunteers that they are
- 3:39those neighbors who invite themselves over to use the pool.
- 3:43The Browns, because obviously they have all these kids.
- 3:46He kind of made it sound like Deidre and Bill were the only
- 3:49neighbors that have a pool at this point that you know, it is
- 3:52Vegas and you would think there would be other pools in the
- 3:54neighborhood, but maybe not. But leave it up to Kody to say
- 3:56it in a weird way. He goes.
- 3:58They're the only neighbors that have built a pool in the
- 4:01neighborhood. Built the pool.
- 4:06Don't you usually say they put
- 4:09God, it's things like that where
- 4:15unintelligent. Let.
- 4:16Me take this opportunity to correct you honey in the
- 4:19manosphere we build pools is that what he said yes we don't
- 4:27Lesson #47 of the handbook. You build a pool, you don't put
- 4:31in a pool. He says things that sound so
- 4:37profound and thoughtful, and those are the moments where I
- 4:43think he's been saving that to sound intelligent, where he'll
- 4:52They have a playbook in their head of things that they can say
- 5:16don't sound right. Him and Robyn are a lot alike in
- 5:23parallels as I'm going to default to narcissist.
- 5:25I don't really know what else they have in common, but there
- 5:31they're ready for it. There was something that
- 5:33happened just in a recent episode where I was referring to
- 5:43that similar. They do have these patterns that
- 5:48patterns that would be that of a narcissist, right?
- 5:52These things that they do that are similar because they
- 5:58probably have the same DSM 5 diagnosis.
- 6:02Oh cool, we were going to put that.
- 6:04Don't. Nope.
- 6:06Allegedly. Allegedly, she is not a licensed
- 6:12padded room to tell us about Kody and Robyn's diagnosis.
- 6:14Oh my God, let. Me out of here.
- 6:18I promise I won't pretend to be all the sister wives in one body
- 6:25Until she agrees to be the hype woman I need, you keep her in
- 6:29that padded room. Oh boy.
- 6:32Yes, well, they do show all the kids going down the street to
- 6:35get to Deidre and Bill's. And it was so weird to me
- 6:38because the music they were playing was like, they just use
- 6:42this like cheesy, family hokey, almost circusy vibe music and
- 6:47it's just strange. I'm like why can't we just have
- 6:50a normal song puddle monkey? It is the editor in you where
- 6:55you recognize those things. And it cracks me up because I
- 6:58black out the music. I I just black it out, you know,
- 7:09Place has a pool that was built.
- 7:12It was not put in, and when we
- 7:16is in the hot tub with both Deidre and Bill and some of the
- 7:19older kids, and Mckelty approaches and asks if anyone
- 7:23has asked about us to Kody, which ushers in a voice over
- 7:27from him where he says it's a cult.
- 7:30Excuse me? Cultural reference to our
- 7:33courting procedures. When a young man wants to court
- 7:36a young lady, he has to ask the church leader and the father of
- 7:41that girl. Now I'm going to re emphasize
- 7:43some of these things. A young man wants to court a
- 7:46young lady, he has to ask the church leader and the father of
- 7:52that girl. So a lady and a girl like fuck
- 7:56all that. And then the church leader and
- 7:58the father, which totally Harkins into all the cult shit
- 8:00we've talked about before with
- 8:04men. Why there's even probably the
- 8:06lost boys in this culture because there's, you know,
- 8:09multiple women assigned to one
- 8:11And so there's all of these men they don't have a need for, so
- 8:13they drop them off in a ditch in
- 8:16And he's just using this language that only solidifies
- 8:19our conspiracies and or stories we've heard from other people
- 8:22such as Colleen Snow and others that have shared their stories
- 8:26and just this language of lady
- 8:29I like to use it in a ironic or tongue in cheek way on our
- 8:33show, but in the real world it's like stop referring to women
- 8:37as ladies and girls. It's just weird.
- 8:40I wonder if they ask the girl first either because he says a
- 8:46young man wanting to court a girl must ask the church and
- 8:50father first before even asking the girl, right Is what I'm
- 8:55gathering by that. So do you even have a connection
- 8:59with said girl or are you admiring from afar?
- 9:05Are you a pervert in your car spying on said girl with Swiss
- 9:12cheese over your penis? Nobody knows.
- 9:15No. No, I don't know what's
- 9:18happening. Right.
- 9:20And so let's say the church leader, AKA cult leader, AKA
- 9:24Warren Jeff's equivalent, says
- 9:27me. And then the father says, sure,
- 9:29I don't even remember my little girl lady daughter's name.
- 9:32Then does that just mean, yeah, like, now you're assigned?
- 9:36And as long as he plays the game
- 9:40some sort of huge turbulence, then this is just destiny for
- 9:44the young woman. I mean, maybe.
- 9:48We've heard a little of Christine's story and how she
- 9:53pursued Kody and asked her dad
- 9:59we've heard Janelle's, and I think those are the Abby normal
- 10:04stories. I think in all reality what
- 10:08usually happens in the polygamist cults is that a young
- 10:13man probably notices a girl and asks permission, or that young
- 10:19man is high enough up in the church that he is allowed to
- 10:25even court a girl to begin with.
- 10:26I would also be curious to know about Kody's origins with Meri
- 10:34to the cult, but there was this kind of rock star thing with
- 10:37Kody where he was, you know, young and blonde.
- 10:40He is like the Aryan look and he wasn't probably related to most
- 10:43of them because they were new. And so I wonder if he kind of
- 10:47had his pick of the litter type thing or how that worked.
- 10:50I don't really know the details. It sounds like he did, and I
- 10:56think she probably was shy and easily manipulated and pretty.
- 11:07with the Aryan look. She was blonde and looked like
- 11:16Yeah, it's really when you get down to the reasoning behind the
- 11:26And it's like the Quiver Full movement.
- 11:29I don't know if you've heard of the Quiver Full movement.
- 11:31If you haven't, look it up. I get those vibes so bad when I
- 11:36look at this family and you look at Christine, blonde hair,
- 11:41blue eyed Janelle, blonde hair, blue eyed.
- 11:44Robyn is the only one that doesn't look like the other
- 11:51three wives. When you think of that and it
- 11:54creeps me out, it really does get creepy.
- 11:57And she brings about that special Herman Munster vibe that
- 12:03She sure does. Back at the hot tub, Kody tells
- 12:08the children that they're too young anyway and someone pipes
- 12:14And he goes, I'd prefer my girls be 19.
- 12:17What the fuck does this even mean?
- 12:2119? It's like if they were 23 he'd
- 12:26Isn't it just kind of like a stock response thing?
- 12:28Yeah, he says he wants them to have an education first.
- 12:31So at 19, they'll have an education over 18.
- 12:36OK. Well he just wants them to go to
- 12:41So maybe they could go to one year of school and then be
- 12:44summoned back to the cult. Then after drop out and it'd be
- 12:47fine because they had like a year under their belt.
- 12:50Totally, Yeah, he says that it was a bit uncomfortable talking
- 12:53about all of this in front of Deidre and Bill, even if they
- 12:57find it fascinating. He just, you know, doesn't
- 13:00really want to be talking about this in front one of the
- 13:03neighbors. Because he knows they're
- 13:05backwards and doesn't want it brought up in front of them.
- 13:09If you're embarrassed about bringing it up in front of them,
- 13:16that you think these people are beneath you and that they
- 13:19shouldn't know about your customs because they're not part
- 13:27So because that's the feeling I
- 13:29get that they don't allow people
- 13:33aren't a part of their culture, right?
- 13:35You cannot join our wedding ceremony because you're not
- 13:39going to be in the celestial Kingdom like we are.
- 13:41You can't see this wedding ceremony.
- 13:43Is it that you don't want to share this with them because you
- 13:48think that they're beneath you?
- 13:49Or is it because you're embarrassed by it because you
- 13:53know it's wrong? Because usually when you're
- 13:56embarrassed about something, it's because you deep down know
- 13:59that there's a reason to be embarrassed because it's
- 14:03inherently wrong or there's something there that doesn't
- 14:07feel right. Yeah, in these kind of
- 14:09situations for sure. Yeah.
- 14:11Deidre and Bill have A2 camera interview at this point, a
- 14:15moment while they're in the hot tub.
- 14:17Bill has that kind of cheesy old man white hair billowing in the
- 14:22wind. Bill says that the Browns are
- 14:25not like stereotypes people may have about polygamous families.
- 14:28And Deidre says the kids are
- 14:30well behaved. They have good manners, they
- 14:32enjoy having the family as neighbors and friends.
- 14:36But Bill and Deidre to me kind
- 14:40older couple at like retirement community.
- 14:44If they weren't hanging out with
- 14:46were swingers. I was just going to say swingers
- 14:50perhaps? Do they have pineapples on their
- 14:52front doorstep? That was totally the vibe I was
- 14:55getting. Now, Deidre and Bill, if you're
- 14:56listening, no tea, no shade. I've been known to taste a
- 15:02little bit of pineapple. I don't know.
- 15:06I mean, it's not like I'm retiring to nudist colony in
- 15:08Florida and having sex with strangers while my dentures are
- 15:11on the night stand. That's not happening for me.
- 15:13If it was Palm Springs, maybe.
- 15:19not on the coast. But Bill, for sure.
- 15:22I don't know about Deidre, but
- 15:25like, yeah, I've got a Corvette in the garage.
- 15:29But it's nice that Deidre points
- 15:31behaved. We get along with them, We don't
- 15:32see any issues. It's just because they don't
- 15:36talk about anything in front of them and they don't know the
- 15:37truth about things. So of course they get along.
- 15:41They won't even talk about there
- 15:44of them because it's a bizarre
- 15:47So what do you really know about
- 15:50Probably not much. And other than being jealous of
- 15:54Bill's coaster that he sets his teeth on while he's hooking up
- 15:58with strangers, I was also jealous of their backyard
- 16:02because they do have a great pool and a hot tub built in.
- 16:05And I was like, that's the kind of backyard I want.
- 16:08So I'm just noting once again for my future husband.
- 16:10Take me parasailing and give me an in ground pool with a hot
- 16:13tub and a nice place to put my
- 16:15Thank you. We get whiplash yet again.
- 16:20They take us back to San Francisco and we're going to go
- 16:24to a new store with the wives and this store is called Go
- 16:31Figure. This is a plus size store.
- 16:36They have bigger sizes here inclusive shop but not really
- 16:44because Robyn gets told that they don't have Robyn size.
- 16:50Poor Robyn. The wives shared that they all
- 16:53provided options previous to their travels based on the
- 16:57website before going, so they told the store owner.
- 17:00These are some things we're interested in from your website
- 17:02and apparently this store owner who is beautiful, well spoken
- 17:07and seems very likable and very nice.
- 17:09That was all doused in sarcasm
- 17:13show. She's been, you know, working
- 17:16tirelessly, diligently to pull
- 17:19She has racks for each of them
- 17:23the store. But before they try on anything,
- 17:27the store owner let's Robyn know, you know, we don't have
- 17:30anything for you here. Sorry.
- 17:33Robyn goes, oh, OK. And she says because basically I
- 17:38cater to plus size, the larger
- 17:43larger woman. No, not the larger woman.
- 17:48And Robyn tells us that it doesn't bother her and she can
- 17:50actually understand some of her attitude behind it.
- 17:54The woman did have some attitude.
- 17:56She did have attitude. It was hard for me to gauge, are
- 17:59you like this all the time? Are you just like this because
- 18:01there's a camera crew? I I don't really know.
- 18:05I didn't like it because it was the opposite of what you would
- 18:09normally think. In America there are people that
- 18:13are fat phobic and there is a lot of people that have skinny
- 18:21privilege, pretty privilege. And I feel like they flipped the
- 18:26script here when they went into the store where they only had
- 18:30Robyn's size. The shop owner was so sweet and
- 18:34oh Robyn will try on all the clothes for you guys don't worry
- 18:37about it. And then they get to the store
- 18:40that's all inclusive and they paint the store owner to look
- 18:44like a bitch to Robyn because oh
- 18:49we don't have your size in here.
- 18:51I cater to the plus size women. How dare you even think I would
- 18:55have your size. I don't like it.
- 18:59I don't know who the production team hat on that was still
- 19:04kissing Robyn's ass at this point and Kody's ass, but they
- 19:11And that's why I was so heated during the first part of the
- 19:15episode when, oh, Robyn's just going to try on all these
- 19:19dresses and they're acting like it's no big deal.
- 19:20And we didn't go to this store knowing they wouldn't have plus
- 19:24sizes. But now wait, Robyn's the victim
- 19:29size and now they're going to make a bigger deal about it.
- 19:32And she had an attitude. Whoever is kissing Robyn's ass
- 19:42what the fuck is this? What the fuck is this?
- 19:45We all know that in America there was a huge problem with
- 19:50fat phobia and whatnot, so this is weird to me.
- 19:54My assumption was that the store owner wouldn't speak to someone
- 19:57like that if they weren't being filmed, so that felt odd.
- 20:01And then just from the storytelling lens, it gave Robyn
- 20:08I even understood her attitude towards me, like as if she's so
- 20:12benevolent. She's so kind and understanding.
- 20:16be a fat person and I'm not, and
- 20:19talk to me like that. Why is any of this happening?
- 20:22It was uncomfortable to watch.
- 20:24I can't wait to get further on
- 20:28people in Robyn and Kody's pockets because I am seeing it
- 20:33so much and I haven't seen anything past this.
- 20:37And there are moments like this where I'm so confused because
- 20:42they're completely flipping a script.
- 20:44It's just not the norm. It's not the norm.
- 20:47And so for it to be caught on camera, candidly, I don't buy
- 20:51it. Yeah, I don't buy it.
- 20:52Agreed. So the wives are trying on
- 20:55different outfits and they're all a swing and a miss.
- 20:57I don't really even know. Do you want to describe any of
- 21:00the outfits in detail? Really, They were just all
- 21:03unflattering. They have a merry try on what
- 21:07looks like a long sleeve top with just a billowy skirt thing
- 21:15attached. It's like a tunic.
- 21:16It's not even a dress and Christine tells her, well you
- 21:20could wear leggings under that
- 21:24So it looks like an everyday outfit.
- 21:27A longer top that you could wear
- 21:31where it's covering your butt.
- 21:33wear leggings. And Meri makes it known to
- 21:36Christine that she would never
- 21:40AKA Christine wears leggings as pants and Meri doesn't like it
- 21:45or agree with it. So that was the one thing that I
- 21:49noted was Meri kind of took a dig at Christine for wearing
- 21:53leggings as pants and she thought this top made her look
- 21:58pregnant. When Meri makes this jab at
- 22:02Christine for wearing all this
- 22:05leggings, the irony was so rich because in the future Meri is
- 22:11like a Lula Roe person, like high up on the thing.
- 22:16So in the future we see Meri wearing some pants that other
- 22:20people might not consider some
- 22:23overpriced fucking leggings to
- 22:26So it's just for anyone who's seen the show and knows in the
- 22:29future, it's bitterly ironic that she is picking on Christine
- 22:33for this. That's so fun.
- 22:34You're going to be Hawking leggings for years.
- 22:36It's insane. Moldy leggings problems?
- 22:41Yes, if you haven't seen that documentary.
- 22:45Right, right. That was so good during the
- 22:47COVID peak COVID, I remember everyone was talking about that.
- 22:51Yes. Janelle tells us that it won't
- 22:53be much longer before she can shop in a normal store, and
- 22:58there's a freedom that that will
- 23:01excited to find something that fits at any department store.
- 23:03She almost can't imagine it because it's been years.
- 23:07So it's kind of nice that we have a tie in here to the 5K and
- 23:10then the other episodes we've had where we talked about her
- 23:12weight loss. Yeah.
- 23:14It would be nice to know that you could go to stores and find
- 23:17sizes that fit you. It's a little weird that they're
- 23:20in a plus size store talking about it, but it was, I don't
- 23:25know, I guess it's something for
- 23:28I keep trying to think, OK, Kimberly, don't be so hateful
- 23:32about this. It's a sign of the times and we
- 23:35are in the past. So yes, stores weren't weren't
- 23:41all inclusive. They still are not all
- 23:42inclusive, but especially when
- 23:48clap for Janelle that that's a
- 23:52But then there's a part of me that thinks that it's so sad
- 23:56that you have to think at this
- 24:01in a quote, UN quote normal clothing store because they have
- 24:05an extra large, but nothing above that.
- 24:09And all of this stuff around weight that keeps coming back
- 24:15for Janelle here. I struggle so much with it.
- 24:19You know, I do like that they tried to tie it back to the 5K
- 24:24in the beginning, but I don't think that was intentional.
- 24:26Knowing this production company,
- 24:30good quote and it happened to fit in with the beginning.
- 24:35I don't think it was on purpose.
- 24:38We live in a world where everything is about profit and
- 24:59Or in a situation where a Robyn is trying on clothes for you
- 25:04because they don't have your size.
- 25:06And then you have to order it online later, or the store clerk
- 25:19Christine's quote earlier. And I was thinking about it
- 25:21later on here where she says she's not excited to go store to
- 25:29hindsight thing that they did go store to store and they didn't
- 25:38It's not fun for me because I'm used to them not having my size
- 25:41and it sucks. But to wrap up this bit about
- 25:44them trying on clothes where thank God we're not going to go
- 25:46into the details on the clothes, except for that one top
- 25:48that Meri was wearing that was atrocious.
- 25:49She called it atrocious. Everyone thinks it's atrocious
- 25:53It wasn't a dressy, it wasn't something you would wear to a
- 25:57ceremony. It was a top.
- 25:58Oh let's just try this on for a day-to-day wear.
- 26:00Why was she even trying that on? It wasn't fancy, it looked like
- 26:05an average everyday top. Some of the clothes did look
- 26:08like what she would sell in the future at Lula Bro.
- 26:11Yes, yes, for real. One of the takeaways that I have
- 26:19shopping at quote UN quote normal stores, is that of the
- 26:23people that tried things on, Janelle look the fucking best.
- 26:29They were not terribly I'll fitting.
- 26:31Were they my favorite pieces? No, but she looked the best of
- 26:38Janelle those flowers, give her those coins, because she looked
- 26:41fucking good. She did.
- 26:42She looked really good and I don't want to pick on anyone for
- 26:50queen bee of this and the what everyone would want to look like
- 26:58She's not everything in the cup of tea.
- 27:01You know she looks average so. She looks like she's half foot,
- 27:09so I'm not quite sure what that means.
- 27:11Yeah. Yeah.
- 27:12We get more whiplash, honey, get out that neck brace.
- 27:16We're going back to Vegas. I know you've got the foot boot.
- 27:24arrives at one of the homes and it is OK.
- 27:26This scene was funny because he's going inside to the house.
- 27:30I, I couldn't tell which wife's house it was, but he says that
- 27:33the kids are so loud that he could hear them quote UN quote
- 27:37clear outside. And I'm like, I have heard clear
- 27:40outside before for sure, probably from a parent being
- 27:43like, I can hear you clear outside like Oh my God.
- 27:47And they respond by yelling yay,
- 27:50So they're all yelling at his ushering of them to be quiet and
- 27:53he literally puts his finger over his mouth and is like shit.
- 27:59I was so happy. I was so.
- 28:01Happy. It brought me so much joy, even
- 28:03though if it was happening to me
- 28:06I need a Xanax. I need to calm down.
- 28:10He's like, SH, we're in Christine's library.
- 28:14Shut the fuck up, shut the fuck up.
- 28:16Shut the fuck up. Oh God.
- 28:20Oh God. And then we see the kids and
- 28:23Kody eating dinner, blah blah blah.
- 28:26After dinner's completed, he decides he's going to make a
- 28:28call to the wives, Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn,
- 28:32who are grabbing some food themselves in a restaurant that
- 28:36is apparently very cramped and
- 28:39description. Now, as a layperson who has been
- 28:43to restaurants and been places, I'm not so sure that I would
- 28:46call it cramped and loud. It did just seem like a normal
- 28:50restaurant. But these are people, you know,
- 28:52visiting San Francisco who are
- 28:57to Utah across the Oregon Trail or whatever, you know, and.
- 29:00They made it through with their dysentery and snake bites.
- 29:04They're here. Robyn's still hanging on,
- 29:07barely, barely, barely. So they're in a normal
- 29:10restaurant, but of course they're all sitting around a
- 29:12table. And this is where we get a
- 29:14notorious scene of Kody calling.
- 29:17And he calls Christine, and she tells us it's awkward talking to
- 29:26If he calls and we're together, you usually walk away and, you
- 29:33And as she's explaining this, we see footage of them sitting
- 29:37around this table, and Christine's on the phone talking
- 29:43Meri's doing whatever. She's kind of like looking
- 29:45around. And Robyn looks pissed off.
- 29:50Girl Robyn is pissed. That jaw is set.
- 29:56It is set honey. I'm just every time I say that,
- 30:01I'm just getting the visual and the audio of the like, yeah, you
- 30:08Sets forward. It's Johnny Bravo.
- 30:10Sets in. It's like a stick shift of a car
- 30:20Now, the conversation on the phone does start a bit humorous
- 30:24because Kody tells Christine that things are going great and
- 30:27yada, yada, yada. But then last night, you know,
- 30:35banging and everything while I was in the shower.
- 30:38And I'm like, OK, so hold on, hold on, hold on.
- 30:41Once again, you are these children's father, right?
- 30:43So please tell me you've been in an environment where you've
- 30:47heard your kids before. You know, it's not like this is
- 30:50your first night taking a shower in your own home.
- 30:53Is it Mylanta? Maybe it's because when he's
- 30:57around of wives do have to be so on top of the kids that they,
- 31:03you know, like I, I don't like, didn't this seem weird to you?
- 31:08He's probably never been in the shower and watching them at the
- 31:12same time. And every mother has had to do
- 31:28Oh, it's been a breeze. It's never a breeze.
- 31:33Whenever anyone says it's been a breeze, I instantly know that
- 31:37shit hit the fan and it was not a breeze.
- 31:41And yeah, he probably was in the shower and he heard shit hitting
- 31:52quick. And he didn't know what to do
- 31:55because he was trying to have some alone time in the shower.
- 32:02like, not worth taking a shower. It's not worth taking a shower
- 32:10It that's with two kids. And so when, Kody, this happens
- 32:14every parent, this happens when you're not even a parent.
- 32:16I have been at people's homes and been like, what the fuck is
- 32:18that sound? And it's just their kids being
- 32:20crazy while you're in the shower.
- 32:22Listen, it is what it is. Someone's going to lose an eye.
- 32:24And so Kody's in the shower and he's got Hurricane Brown, you
- 32:28know, Category 4, Category 5, whatever.
- 32:30Hurricane Brown's out there. And he's going.
- 32:32I'm just trying to pay attention
- 32:34this little brown eye, you know, he's just trying to have a
- 32:37moment in the shower. He's not used to this.
- 32:39And This is why I'm going Does
- 32:42around, the kids are so managed by the mothers that he's not
- 32:46even aware that this happens? Because what parent hasn't heard
- 32:50their kids being crazy while they're in the shower?
- 32:53I'm just picturing him pretending to be in a commercial
- 32:56in his shower mirror. It's easy breezy beautiful.
- 32:59CoverGirl Kody. CoverGirl Breezy, breezy.
- 33:04And like hurricane Hurricane Brown is happening down below
- 33:08and he just has no clue and the roof is about to be ripped off
- 33:12the house and it's like Oh my God, Kody, get to the basement
- 33:16quick. Oh God.
- 33:19He's like, I'm exfoliating, I'm exfoliating.
- 33:22Oh God. Too busy looking himself in the
- 33:25eye, in the mirror. The eye of the storm is really
- 33:28building at him and truly is in the middle.
- 33:33His tendrils blowing in the shower.
- 33:36Oh, can't. The whole 9 is.
- 33:38This a blow dryer or my children
- 33:41I don't know. What a mess.
- 33:43Fucking. Kody, Oh my God.
- 33:45And we get a precious Pearl from
- 33:48says. You know, Kody's really an
- 33:50optimistic person, and so when
- 33:54on, it leaks out of him with the
- 33:59out positive and then eventually
- 34:03out. This is kind of a universal
- 34:06thing, though. I mean, she's teeing it up as if
- 34:09it's such a charming trait of Kody.
- 34:11Well, no, I mean, there are times where let's say you are
- 34:14watching someone else's children.
- 34:15So if you're actually babysitting, you're not their
- 34:17father. You're just babysitting.
- 34:19Parents arrive and you're like, everything was great.
- 34:21And then as you're catching up, you're like, oh, well, then
- 34:23there was this thing. And then, well, there was this
- 34:25thing and, you know, just happens that way.
- 34:27It's just storytelling. It's how you explain
- 34:30experiences. And Robyn's just so gross.
- 34:32She tries to make it sound like it's this special, charming
- 34:35thing that Kody does, and it's
- 34:37No, Meri says that this is the
- 34:44When you're in a situation like this, it is so uncomfortable.
- 34:49They can just barely handle it
- 34:54reiterating this and they keep
- 34:59interview moments of each wife
- 35:03to listen to your spouse on the phone with somebody else.
- 35:07I don't understand how you're this many years into a plural
- 35:10marriage and this is the most uncomfortable situation to hear
- 35:16him on the phone. I would think this would just be
- 35:19a normal kind of everyday occurrence if you happen to be
- 35:24with one of the sister wives and
- 35:26But apparently it's one of the
- 35:30And they say that they know that
- 35:35to be normal and for him to actually be able to be on
- 35:39speakerphone and speaking to all
- 35:42calling each one individually.
- 35:47interesting here, that he has started sending mass texts to
- 35:53the wives, including mass I love
- 35:58And they all find it weird. And what are they supposed to
- 36:01do? Respond with I love you too, I
- 36:06love you all too. What do you do?
- 36:10And that's weird to me. That's the step too far to me.
- 36:15Girl, I do have to laugh at you calling it in mass text because
- 36:19you know the group. It's just funny because you're
- 36:24making it sound like it's going to, you know, like the whole
- 36:26school board or something. It's like it's a group text with
- 36:29the wives. Yes, it is true that they are
- 36:32saying it is strange and it would be strange in a certain
- 36:36element. This was, you know, a decade ago
- 36:38or something plus. So group texting is a pretty new
- 36:42thing. And at that time, you know, so
- 36:44he's incorporating this new practice in with his wives.
- 36:47Sure. I was thinking of it from the
- 36:49lens of I'm not a big texter. I I don't necessarily like doing
- 36:55banter back and forth that isn't
- 36:57Some people love it when someone
- 37:00are you? I'm like, Oh my God.
- 37:02Because I'm like, I don't know, like.
- 37:04Tell me how you really feel. Tell me how you're really.
- 37:08I just don't do a lot of like random pleasantries, like I just
- 37:11don't. And so I would operate and
- 37:14prefer, let's do a group text.
- 37:17need to know, do a group text.
- 37:18Let's knock it out. But then also, if your spouse
- 37:22says I love you to you and their
- 37:26you respond to that? Do you sideline love you too?
- 37:30I mean, love you back? It's weird.
- 37:32Why would you even send and I love you to all of your wives on
- 37:35one group thread? I understand why they think it's
- 37:38weird, but I also, as a man who has an issue communicating,
- 37:42appreciate the effectiveness and
- 37:46I think it's weird. I don't think that having a
- 37:49group phone call would be weird where you're just checking in
- 37:52with all the wives, giving them an update on the kids, saying I
- 37:56love you guys, can't wait to see
- 37:59all miss you. That's something different than
- 38:03saying I love you to a group of people.
- 38:07Not saying I love you all. It's like a copy and paste
- 38:12situation. Where have you ever found out
- 38:15that you were part of a copy paste situation?
- 38:19That you were seeing somebody that someone else was seeing and
- 38:22they were saying the exact same thing to you that they said to
- 38:24the other person? Because that is weird.
- 38:28But you would think being sister
- 38:34when it's all in one group it feels odd to me.
- 38:38I don't know. It's an unorthodox thing to
- 38:41navigate. I I don't really know how you
- 38:42would know the best practices.
- 38:46He can only, he can only do so
- 38:50But I would re emphasize what you were talking about.
- 38:53How how is this strange? Because when the women are all
- 38:56sitting around this table, there's no way.
- 39:01My assumption is that the topics
- 39:04intimate, high pressure, blah,
- 39:06He's checking in with everyone.
- 39:07How would it be weird for Christine to talk about?
- 39:10Yeah, You know, I went and tried on some dresses.
- 39:12I didn't really like any of them.
- 39:13And Meri being like, yeah, I didn't find anything.
- 39:15And Robyn being like, well, I was liking something, but I
- 39:17didn't pick something up, like, oh, are the kids OK?
- 39:19I mean, these are not, you know, like, what'd you make for dinner
- 39:26Why do you have to talk to them each individually and call each
- 39:30individual phone? It's not like you're saying,
- 39:32hey, I washed your diaphragm out for you.
- 39:35It's drying on the sink in the bathroom, not.
- 39:38The diaphragm. No, you're talking about your
- 39:41kids. You're giving updates about
- 39:44normal things, right? I just don't know how it could
- 39:52about basic things. It just, it doesn't make any
- 39:55sense to me. It's like they're so overtly
- 39:57sensitive about the sharing of affection and these kind of
- 40:00conversations where it's like, I mean, the affection bit, OK.
- 40:03It'll it continues on throughout the whole series.
- 40:06There's a point where later on, years down the road, it's almost
- 40:12making out and fucking in front of people.
- 40:14And it's like, that's where is that happening?
- 40:16Like you can't hug and give your spouse a kiss on the lips and be
- 40:21Like it just, it's so strange. Their sensitivity to this is
- 40:24mind boggling to me. It's like, you do know he's
- 40:27going to fuck her tonight, right?
- 40:28Well, it's interesting to know that they are still sensitive
- 40:30about it in the future, because part of me was wondering if it's
- 40:40really do do separate calls like this in a situation where
- 40:45they'd be together. And they've made it very clear
- 40:53like this normally. So maybe it is organic and maybe
- 40:58Part of me was wondering if it was set up for the drama purpose
- 41:06When I was under the impression that he called Christine and
- 41:09that she was just passing the phone on like that, they just
- 41:12all talked. Yeah, I didn't pay too much
- 41:14attention to the phone. I just thought that they passed
- 41:17it along. But.
- 41:18Regardless of the same lives, you know, I just felt like Kody
- 41:22seemed oblivious that he thought, oh, this is a good time
- 41:29were out to dinner together. So he called them all in
- 41:34succession. So that he called each phone in
- 41:37succession. And that's why it was weird to
- 41:41It wasn't that they were back in their hotel rooms and each
- 41:44getting a call that night and alone it it was a copy paste
- 41:47type of thing where I got to check in on one, I got to check
- 41:51in on the other. Not an individual.
- 41:53I care about you, so I'm checking on you, OK?
- 41:56Thing. See, now that would definitely
- 42:03and then whatever. I didn't capture the phone.
- 42:05But who knows, because they don't tell us this.
- 42:08Thing yeah, we always have to come up with our own
- 42:10conclusions. That's the whole point of this.
- 42:12That's why I love this so much,
- 42:14because there'd be nothing to talk about, I suppose, right?
- 42:17They didn't do this to us. Yeah, if they, if they gave us
- 42:22accurate, complete, funny or moving stories, what would we
- 42:26complain about? But I also do believe that this
- 42:29family is like a bad sitcom where they don't communicate.
- 42:33And so this is what's happening.
- 42:35I'm torn between if it's production setting up drama, or
- 42:40if this family just sucks this much at communicating that the
- 42:48Christine says in her memoir that they sucked this much at
- 42:51communicating. So it's watching a train wreck
- 42:58not? It's human nature to want to sit
- 43:04we're doing. That's why people are listening
- 43:06to it. I love it.
- 43:07That's why I like reading the comments that people have to say
- 43:14everybody's point of view. It's a bad sitcom though.
- 43:17And the production driven bit versus how even at the beginning
- 43:25They've told us they don't communicate effectively, but
- 43:27then they don't address it. They just move on.
- 43:29We've heard about it in the future and their books, as
- 43:31you're saying. I mean they clearly do not have
- 43:34good communication. Imagine your production, do you
- 43:38feel some sort of responsibility for fucking a
- 43:41family up like this? If you did set some of this up
- 43:47it 1000 times worse to get a good show out of it.
- 43:50Well, now if you're asking me as a producer, I would say no.
- 43:54I would say I take my paycheck and I buy a second house and I
- 44:00As a human, I would say the same thing.
- 44:04No, I just I. Don't know, like, what are the
- 44:11general. And now I'm getting too
- 44:12hypothetical and out there, but that's the time period too, you
- 44:16know, the beginning of reality TV versus what it is now and the
- 44:24Yeah. And how many people get into
- 44:26reality TV and it's like their marriage is strengthened, their
- 44:29families are better than ever, They have the even better
- 44:31careers. Like that doesn't happen to
- 44:33anybody. So, you know, it's like they get
- 44:41So as a producer, I would say no, there is no problem at all
- 44:46bits and the opportunity for us to have a podcast, then destroy
- 44:49the families. It just gets so messy and it's
- 45:00call that get out of control. So I don't know.
- 45:05Well, we're going to get another whiplash moment, and I hope that
- 45:16end up at Britex. Britex.
- 45:20Britex. Fabric store and we are going to
- 45:32this designer friend of Robyn's brought up the idea.
- 45:39Well, what if we design dresses for this ceremony?
- 45:43You guys had such poor luck in these wonderful expensive
- 45:47boutiques that I brought you to. And if you can't find something
- 45:52magical enough in these places, perhaps I could draw you
- 45:57something with my abilities. So let's go to a fabric store.
- 46:11That's true. Yeah.
- 46:13Kendra is really, really leading these women to success when it
- 46:20Christine does take this opportunity to review yet again
- 46:24the requirements that it must be beautiful and fun and modest
- 46:29and unattainable. They're picky in particular and
- 46:32she tells us that they're considering having dresses made
- 46:35for this non recommitment ceremony.
- 46:37Now was this a real time moment thing where they made this
- 46:42decision based on some Kendra recommendations or how their
- 46:45trip is unfurling? Or was it already known?
- 46:48I'm assuming it's already known because it doesn't seem like
- 46:51they're in any hurry to buy anything so.
- 46:53Christine says that she needs to find something that sings to
- 47:01her. I like the Holy Spirit.
- 47:05I cannot wait for an iconic episode where we get Christine
- 47:15of Christine's rendition of Let Me Call You Sweetheart.
- 47:18It is going to make people cry. It's going to move people.
- 47:23I feel like I need to start working on an actual rendition
- 47:32that I can make a farce of it when I pretend to be Christine,
- 47:37but that everyone will know how truly wonderful I am by my real
- 47:42version. Listen honey, you are getting
- 47:45the gears turning in this old rusty brain.
- 47:48You know how we like to do a special intro on this song for
- 48:00intro featuring the lyrical stylings and vocal prowess that
- 48:05is Kimber. If you want it, she will give
- 48:10it. Set in an accent.
- 48:14Thank you, thank you, Thank you for giving us the accent.
- 48:17Yes, yes. Oh boy.
- 48:19Speaking of Robyn's friend Kendra, she takes the
- 48:21opportunity to do a little sketch of a dress based on one
- 48:29And you know, Robyn's giving her some descriptions and some
- 48:33feedback. And while this is happening,
- 48:35Robyn is searching and holding some purple fabric.
- 48:37Of course, I'm like, oh, Robyn in that purple.
- 48:40She's so royal. She's so majestic that she needs
- 48:56and help her. Inspirational.
- 48:59I wonder if it'll have a bunch of cellophane crumpled.
- 49:02Up. I was going to say, just wrap
- 49:05her in some Saran wrap and call it a day.
- 49:08Put enough layers around, maybe do some Christmas Saran wrap,
- 49:13make it red and green and you got a dress.
- 49:17You got your dress, Christine. I moved, I can see it now.
- 49:22They do leave this fabric store with some shopping bags and I
- 49:26found it to be unfortunate that we didn't get to see what they
- 49:32We didn't get to see what they bought.
- 49:34So I'm assuming Robyn bought things because it's Robyn.
- 49:38Yeah, I'm guessing it's just a bunch of ribbons and, you know,
- 49:42accoutrement things that were on sale in the back.
- 49:46Nothing that they really needed, nothing to make the actual
- 49:50dresses. I thought maybe you were going
- 49:54You know, that's one of my favorite words.
- 49:57Love me some charcuterie. Kody is taking the kids bowling.
- 50:04bowling alley, Kody says. It's funny to me that not one of
- 50:08them asked me how to do it. And then they show a shot of him
- 50:11bowling a gutter ball, which is amazing.
- 50:15Is he aware of how absurd he is?
- 50:18Because he doesn't seem to be in on the whole thing?
- 50:21And this is what's funny. Like, you know, if I was to bowl
- 50:30even asked me how to bowl successfully.
- 50:31But he doesn't seem to be in on it.
- 50:34And it's so strange. He's not in on the joke because
- 50:38they show him doing gutterball after gutterball after
- 50:42gutterball and Aspen gets 3 strikes in a row and Kody says
- 50:54And it reminds me of what he said earlier about Janelle
- 50:59fitting in the extra large T-shirt.
- 51:02I was pleasantly surprised. Or whatever the fuck he said.
- 51:06Actually. Actually surprised.
- 51:08Oh, she doesn't even have form. She's just really good.
- 51:13Like don't give her any credit at all.
- 51:16Oh, she just happens to be good at this.
- 51:19Yeah. Can't give her any kudos.
- 51:22He's such a Dick. He just, everything he says is
- 51:30Dismissive of their capabilities, dismissive of who
- 51:33they are as people. He's just a Dick.
- 51:37As the scene progresses, there's hokey music playing bowling
- 51:41footage. Kody continues to bowl terribly,
- 51:46He points out that Aspen was the best bowler.
- 51:48Her score was higher than his. He bowled in 84.
- 51:52And I'm only saying that not because I could probably bowl
- 51:55much better, but because it is so satisfying that Kody didn't
- 52:03Aspen bowled at 1:49. Oh, that would be the score I
- 52:07would be very proud of. I would be like 149 and I'm
- 52:10feeling fine. He makes it a point to tell us,
- 52:13though, that he got second place behind her.
- 52:15Oh, right. So he.
- 52:18Beat all the small children. Yeah.
- 52:20My God, what a winner. Yep, he had to tell us that.
- 52:23You know, Kody's the kind of guy that's like, oh what?
- 52:25We're just giving trophies away for participating.
- 52:27It's like you're giving yourself credit for beating 6 year olds
- 52:32That's how I felt about the 5K in the beginning.
- 52:36You know, he had to take off like a bat out of hell and pace,
- 52:43beat everyone else in this 5K. And so sorry to say it seemed
- 52:46like a ragtag bunch. Didn't seem like a bunch of
- 52:49people that were used to doing 5 KS Sir.
- 52:51So Yep, you be proud of yourself, OK?
- 52:55God, he has no self-awareness whatsoever.
- 52:59This guy? None.
- 53:02Yeah. We get back to the lovely San
- 53:08Fran and the wives are going to an Irish pub to have lunch.
- 53:13This Irish pub is called Martin Max and Kendra was so excited to
- 53:29Oh, so not only is Kendra a fashion icon, she's also an
- 53:34alcoholic. Fuck, don't those go hand in
- 53:38hand? No.
- 53:40Excuse me? An alleged alcoholic.
- 53:42What am I saying, you know? So of course Meri has to ask,
- 53:46are you going to judge us if we drink a beer?
- 53:48Robyn and Robyn's like, no, you can do whatever you want,
- 53:52Janelle says. I don't generally like it, but
- 54:00it's against their faith to drink alcohol.
- 54:02The server brings them out of flight or something of different
- 54:09know, causes Christine to say they're just big glasses of
- 54:13beer. Full glasses.
- 54:14They're just these big glasses. It's like Christine, Oh my God,
- 54:18they brought out beer. Calm down girl, Get a grip.
- 54:21She's acting like she's never drank a beer, which we know she
- 54:24has. Yeah, she says that.
- 54:25Oh, we were just going to each take a sip of the beers to try
- 54:33taking a sip out of each of them.
- 54:35Oh, no. Oh, the camera's cut and she
- 54:39goes. We can't let this go to waste,
- 54:45you don't say anything. Since when is this family
- 54:48concerned about waste? They buy all disposable shit and
- 54:53doesn't care about some beer being dumped down a drain.
- 54:56I do want to point out again here that the other wives looked
- 55:08already as well for approval and that she's the holy one that
- 55:15But do you mind if we do? And they kind of sound like
- 55:19they're joking about it, but they're not because they're
- 55:21probably worried that she's going to go back to Kody.
- 55:25And Janelle says, well, Kody won't get mad at us if we have a
- 55:29beer. He's not our overseer.
- 55:32But then why are you guys joking
- 55:35going to judge you? Because you know she's going to
- 55:37go to Kody and tell him. So yet again, what they're
- 55:43saying isn't adding up to reality.
- 55:48She's a snitch. If not going to snitch a step in
- 55:51for his role of, you know, Shamer, Judger, finger Wagger.
- 55:56And they're definitely teeing it
- 55:59And when Janelle says that on the couch about how Kody's not
- 56:02our overseer or anything, he doesn't control us, Robyn says
- 56:05no, but he's your husband and taps Janelle on the knee as if
- 56:09like, hello, he is your husband.
- 56:12And Janelle responds saying, well, I'll listen to him, but
- 56:15it's not like he even tries. He doesn't try to tell me what
- 56:21And Robyn goes, I know. And it's like, no, you don't
- 56:24know. That's not what you actually
- 56:26don't think that you're actually literally stepping in as a
- 56:29surrogate to be the judge, the jury and the executioner about
- 56:35To me the knee tap and her saying well he is your husband
- 56:43better watch what you say right now or you better get in your
- 56:47place. You know he is your husband.
- 56:49It's that mom under the table giving you a pinch because you
- 56:54And these are the things we're seeing.
- 56:57And you could label that pinch a keep sweet pinch because it
- 57:00definitely had that vibes of listen, you don't need to say
- 57:03this about your husband. And it's like she's not even
- 57:05saying anything that's scandalous or ridiculous.
- 57:06She's pointing out that Kody doesn't tell her what to do.
- 57:09Also speaking to the differences in their relationships, Janelle
- 57:12probably doesn't get held under the thumb so much by Kody
- 57:16because he navigates that relationship differently than he
- 57:20Who needs to be shamed for what? Not having a sunny disposition?
- 57:25Not falling into line.
- 57:26You've seemed, however you've seemed recently.
- 57:28He's always like shaming her. He probably tries to do that
- 57:31with Janelle. And Janelle's probably like
- 57:32water off a duck's back. Dude, I'm living my life, I'm
- 57:34who I am. So he doesn't have that same
- 57:36control over her. But as we've seen Robyn do many
- 57:39times, she covers for Kody and
- 57:43than he is. She did that during the panel
- 57:46discussion. She backtracks for him a lot.
- 57:49He tries to over explain for him
- 57:55good quote UN quote. So to me this is her way of
- 57:59saying a husband is supposed to be your overseer.
- 58:04Shut the fuck up. Just because he's not actually
- 58:07your overseer doesn't mean that other people in the church
- 58:10shouldn't see him as that. What are you doing?
- 58:13Stop. That's the vibe I get is that
- 58:16she is trying to cover for Kody and say how dare you embarrass
- 58:21him by saying that he doesn't control you, he doesn't oversee
- 58:25you, and that he would let you
- 58:28that on camera? Pinch shut the fuck up.
- 58:33You're embarrassing our husband.
- 58:34Keep sweet, you know. Yeah, it's more insidious than
- 58:43and how ingrained they used to be.
- 58:47They're not showing it at this point.
- 58:49They don't show us doing the Sunday sermons with Kody.
- 58:52They don't show him being the prophet.
- 58:55It's like the show is distancing itself from the religion, but
- 59:00they're still in the religious mindset of, oh, we're showing
- 59:04off skin on ATV show, and this is awkward.
- 59:07Oh, you're talking about how your husband doesn't mind if you
- 59:22Yeah, that distance is happening behind the scenes because as we
- 59:25learned in the future, they obviously do have a disconnect
- 59:31did the show and they distance from that side as well.
- 59:34So there's a lot of distancing happening while still being
- 59:36conditioned and trying to earn their spot in the Celestial
- 59:40Kingdom and all. You know, they have talked about
- 59:51really hot when they were on the road trip or some sort of road
- 59:58take off these long shirts under our short sleeves.
- 1:00:02And we make a lot of fun of the long sleeves under the short
- 1:00:07sleeves because it's odd looking.
- 1:00:08Layering was in at this time, but not the type of layering
- 1:00:13that they do. And a lot of it doesn't match
- 1:00:15and it does look weird and sometimes it shows off your skin
- 1:00:22sense. It calls more attention to your
- 1:00:25body than if you didn't have it on.
- 1:00:27So it's very weird as a viewer, not from that religion, but you
- 1:00:33see moments like this where, oh, Kody's going to be
- 1:00:37embarrassed. So the cult's rear in his head,
- 1:00:40underneath the surface. And now we're going to take a
- 1:00:43serious turn in the episode, a
- 1:00:47Las Vegas. Aspen is making food and
- 1:00:51updating us. That truly doesn't feel well at
- 1:00:54all that she kept Aspen up all
- 1:00:58She kept moving from place to place, and she's definitely
- 1:01:01missing her mom. While Aspen is giving us this
- 1:01:04update, the camera pans to Truly
- 1:01:10their house, and you know that
- 1:01:14she's hunched over, head bent down towards the ground.
- 1:01:18Clearly not well. Now this is our first intro to
- 1:01:22this, so you kind of don't really know how serious it is.
- 1:01:25It's just truly, it's not feeling well and she's sick.
- 1:01:28Then we get Kody entering the frame and he tells us that she
- 1:01:32doesn't feel good, but she doesn't have a fever.
- 1:01:34And I don't know what's wrong.
- 1:01:37doctor. Kody And Aspen says, well, did
- 1:01:39you feel how hot she was yesterday?
- 1:01:41And Kody says she didn't feel that hot.
- 1:01:42I know a fever. And he's just feeling her head
- 1:01:45with his hand. He hasn't actually taken her
- 1:01:47temperature. And that pisses me off to see
- 1:01:52he's putting the back of his hand to her head.
- 1:01:54Well, she doesn't have a fever.
- 1:01:57Do you know that for sure? Do you really know that?
- 1:02:01Me just looking at her, she looks unwell.
- 1:02:05A child does not just act that way out of nowhere and look that
- 1:02:13can pretend this is not one of those situations.
- 1:02:16So for him to be using his hand as a gauge for her temperature,
- 1:02:20get out of fucking thermometer and take this seriously.
- 1:02:24Aspen and Mckelty tell us that they are worried about her.
- 1:02:29They're having a conversation and they're saying that they are
- 1:02:39The older teenagers are showing more concern about Truly than
- 1:02:43Truly's father. There's a voice over from Kody
- 1:02:49bowling the day before and how she had to be held the entire
- 1:02:53time while he's saying this. They're showing a clip of
- 1:02:55Mckelty holding her at the bowling alley where Truly does
- 1:03:10crouched even further over the course of just one voice over.
- 1:03:19like something you just ignore or brush off as she's not
- 1:03:22feeling well. Like something is clearly not
- 1:03:24right here. No, she looks lethargic and
- 1:03:27weak, and it's not something where a little kid is just
- 1:03:30trying to get attention. You can tell the difference, and
- 1:03:45unwell. This is unwell and Kody just
- 1:03:49pushing it off. It's either a sign of the fact
- 1:03:52that he has too many fucking kids and you know, each child
- 1:03:55gets a little less and less of
- 1:03:59she'll be fine. That type of attitude, or it's
- 1:04:02selfishness that he doesn't want
- 1:04:07leave the other kids. And what would he do if he had
- 1:04:10to go and take her in to a doctor and see if she was OK?
- 1:04:15The whole thing is dismissive yet again.
- 1:04:18But now it's of a child that can't really tell you how she's
- 1:04:23feeling, but she is physically
- 1:04:27and you're not believing it. And counter to what we usually
- 1:04:31see from Truly, which is like joyous, rambunctious, full of
- 1:04:34energy. Yeah.
- 1:04:35And as you said, I mean, a kid
- 1:04:38certain kind of way that is not the vibes at all.
- 1:04:42And another element that I would
- 1:04:45really know how. I don't really want to get
- 1:04:47sidetracked by it too much at this point.
- 1:04:49But I also think there's the element of insurance and
- 1:04:53bringing children to the doctor.
- 1:04:55I don't think that's a regular practice in this family.
- 1:04:58I think that we saw that when Mckelty got thrown from the
- 1:05:02horse and they brought her to a chiropractor.
- 1:05:04I mean, it's a cultural, A cultural thing.
- 1:05:08But also we do learn from Christine in the future that the
- 1:05:16we're talking about, she paid for for a very long time.
- 1:05:19And I don't think it's because they had insurance.
- 1:05:22I'd rather have my child alive than worry about fucking medical
- 1:05:29Take that kid to the doctor. Yeah, how?
- 1:05:33Dare you. I hear you don't have kids.
- 1:05:35Then don't have kids. And I know that's a privileged
- 1:05:42These people could have fucking helped it.
- 1:05:44If you are not going to take your child to the doctor because
- 1:05:52That's disgusting. It's despicable, it's neglect.
- 1:06:04kids to get into the celestial Kingdom but you're going to let
- 1:06:08one of those kids potentially die because of insurance and
- 1:06:11money? Fuck you.
- 1:06:13Really heated moment. I think anyone else listening
- 1:06:17would agree. I don't know if I remember this
- 1:06:20correctly or not but I want to say that they received $400,000
- 1:06:25ish mortgages for their homes. So even in Christine's home,
- 1:06:32$400,000 mortgage but they're not spending the money on health
- 1:06:38I understand having six kids on an insurance policy is
- 1:06:42expensive, but I don't know why you're buying a $400,000 home if
- 1:06:48Yeah, there's that. All of them could have lived in
- 1:06:52two houses together and had health insurance for their kids.
- 1:06:58aspect of it that really, really
- 1:07:01And the putting on a front and
- 1:07:07money on this party because it's
- 1:07:11look ridiculous by not having an
- 1:07:15ceremony. But now you've got this child
- 1:07:18sitting on the floor with an obvious fever, and you're just
- 1:07:21going to put your bare ass back of your hand or forehead and
- 1:07:25pretend it's all OK. I am like, disgusted by this,
- 1:07:31you know? And to find out moving forward
- 1:07:36what happens. And I haven't seen the episodes
- 1:07:39after this, but I've heard a little bit about what happens
- 1:07:43here and there. And so this is giving me a taste
- 1:07:48of what's to come. And it pisses me off.
- 1:07:52I would leave my husband in a heartbeat if I saw this on
- 1:07:56camera and saw this happen. Oh God.
- 1:08:00Well, and as you read in Christine's memoir, it basically
- 1:08:04was the beginning of the end for
- 1:08:07Now, yeah, I don't know if I'm
- 1:08:09saying that. No, I don't know how.
- 1:08:11It couldn't be the beginning of the end.
- 1:08:13I think that we're going to find
- 1:08:16exactly why. And I don't know how it couldn't
- 1:08:19be the beginning of the end for you as a mom, as a partner, as
- 1:08:24somebody who cares about human
- 1:08:28And for me, this is the second
- 1:08:30I know I was maybe sounding dramatic, but when talking about
- 1:08:33finance in college, that was the
- 1:08:35be like, this could be a deal breaker.
- 1:08:37Like you can't be ruining our children's future over some
- 1:08:40adamancy that you have that's easily dismissed.
- 1:08:43This is going to be a problem,
- 1:08:46child is probably more important
- 1:08:50Kody is just putting these things on a platter for us as
- 1:08:53viewers of unacceptable decisions and whatever.
- 1:08:57There are plenty of people in worse economic situations that
- 1:09:00would care more than he does. Oh yeah, and take their child to
- 1:09:04the doctor. I wasn't raised in the $400,000
- 1:09:06home, but I was able to go to the doctor when I was sick.
- 1:09:09My parents made sure that happened so.
- 1:09:11Oh yeah, my mom found a way. You know, we were on special
- 1:09:15programs in school and got our
- 1:09:18embarrassing. But my mom was not too proud to
- 1:09:22figure out how to get us through
- 1:09:26make sure that we were OK. You know, this is the pride, the
- 1:09:30ego thing, and it's gross. It's gross.
- 1:09:34Don't have the kids. Then Aspen says that Kody is
- 1:09:39actually stressing her out. So all of this is going on and
- 1:09:44we're hearing from Aspen and Mckelty that they're really
- 1:09:47worried about truly. And Aspen is being stressed out
- 1:09:51by her own father, who is supposed to be there watching
- 1:09:55the kids. So Aspen is momming harder than
- 1:09:58Kody is ever batting. You know, she is stressed by his
- 1:10:03behavior and I think she feels
- 1:10:07child with him there. Pretty much.
- 1:10:09She says that the first day of
- 1:10:16called her 16 times after 3:00
- 1:10:21She says that's why you need so many wives.
- 1:10:25And she's making a joke about,
- 1:10:29so you're calling me 16 times and she's making a joke of it,
- 1:10:32but it's not a joke. It's not funny.
- 1:10:34She's stressed by her own dad.
- 1:10:37How could you even call someone 16 times after 3:00 PM as a
- 1:10:42rational person in a situation
- 1:10:45Like it just doesn't. Because he couldn't do it on his
- 1:10:48own. And that makes me wonder, where
- 1:10:52was he staying? Whose kids was he staying with?
- 1:10:55How were the kids split up between the homes during these
- 1:10:58overnights? Because he's calling her after
- 1:11:01three PM 16 times. She's probably at one home with
- 1:11:04the kids and he's supposed to be
- 1:11:07home with the kids and he can't even do it.
- 1:11:11Yeah, he's got the audacity to
- 1:11:15a breeze. Fuck off.
- 1:11:18The reason it's been a breeze is
- 1:11:22should be thanking your lucky stars right now.
- 1:11:24Kody says this has been a challenge.
- 1:11:26But I wouldn't have had my wives
- 1:11:29this would have all been on me.
- 1:11:30And if I wouldn't have had the help of my teenagers.
- 1:11:32There's no way I could handle it all.
- 1:11:35So, you know, I guess he gets to acknowledge this and say it out
- 1:11:39loud and that's enough for him. Yeah.
- 1:11:42We get an exterior shot of the Plague to SAC Brown compound
- 1:11:46property, and a minivan comes barreling around the corner like
- 1:11:53I'm just kidding. The van's just, the van's just
- 1:12:01like here comes the van, but it was just the van coming around
- 1:12:07The wives are getting their things out of the van, and
- 1:12:10Solomon puts his hand up and pulls the suitcase off the roof
- 1:12:12of the van because he's 6 feet tall.
- 1:12:14This is when I noticed Solomon is not a newborn.
- 1:12:19Solomon is as you said, like 2 years old.
- 1:12:22They put him down, he's walking around.
- 1:12:25This kid is not someone who needs to be adhered to a nipple
- 1:12:29and cared for as if he is a newborn.
- 1:12:31I didn't put those pieces together at first so much but
- 1:12:35this scene was like holy fucking shit this kid has hair longer
- 1:12:38than mine. Something's not right here.
- 1:12:41It reminds me of American Horror Story, the vampire series with
- 1:12:59old and he was a breastfeeding, he'd be like, come on, life in
- 1:13:05It's like, what'd you do to this child?
- 1:13:08Put these headphones on him and like sequester him from the
- 1:13:11world that he would just like latch to your breast his entire
- 1:13:14life? I don't get it.
- 1:13:16I don't get it. Yes, well, I did refer to the
- 1:13:21brown children in my on the relist and I recorded last week
- 1:13:26as Arrested Development. I mean, this is the beginning of
- 1:13:31of a pattern. This is what she does with her
- 1:13:43It's insane. These people are not allowed to
- 1:13:46grow up. I'm going to die.
- 1:13:49Yeah. Oh my God.
- 1:13:51As this is happening, we see Christine carrying truly off in
- 1:13:54a blanket and I'm like, Oh my gosh, like, OK.
- 1:13:57Like she's just seeing her baby getting home, her little kids
- 1:14:00sick. And Kody says I'm tired.
- 1:14:03I'm ready to shut this operation down.
- 1:14:05I just, I'm at a loss for words. Christine asked truly if she's
- 1:14:19her some further clarity, saying she was in her room
- 1:14:22bawling. And Christine's like what?
- 1:14:24Mckelty says sometimes she'd let
- 1:14:27she wouldn't let us even touch
- 1:14:30And Christine's responses, What did you need your mommy?
- 1:14:33And it's a little weird to see
- 1:14:37quite aware of the severity yet.
- 1:14:39It's like she's just seeing truly for the first time and is
- 1:14:43just taking this in. And it's like we have the
- 1:14:47foresight or the whatever you would say to know that this is
- 1:14:54should be taking what Mckelty's saying seriously right now.
- 1:14:57You know, like, shit's not good, but truly.
- 1:14:59Yeah, she's taking it as, oh, you were sick without your
- 1:15:03mommy. Like homesick kind of, right.
- 1:15:05She hasn't been away from her that long, ever.
- 1:15:08So she really just missed her mommy when?
- 1:15:10No, she actually is sick. But how would you know that
- 1:15:14coming in? You don't know the severity of
- 1:15:21updating her, not Kody. Right.
- 1:15:25Mckelty is giving her the 411 on what's been going on and how
- 1:15:30sick she's been and how she's been acting.
- 1:15:32And Kody is just all right. See you later checking out your
- 1:15:38home. I'm shutting this operation down
- 1:15:44Not even given the update to the one person that really needs it
- 1:15:50here. And who knows if he did behind
- 1:15:54Maybe he let her in. I don't think so.
- 1:15:56Yeah, I doubt it. I think he was like, I need some
- 1:16:01So then we get a couch moment where Kody asks the wives, Do
- 1:16:06you guys feel like you accomplished your goals?
- 1:16:09Christine says partially. One goal was to find a dress,
- 1:16:13but none of us found a dress. But we found styles that we
- 1:16:16liked. And Kody responds.
- 1:16:18So you went shopping for three days and you didn't find a
- 1:16:22dress? And I'm going, OK, so they were
- 1:16:24gone for three days. Is this how long they were
- 1:16:26actually gone for? I think it might have been.
- 1:16:29Like 2 nights, 3 days I think. I'm thinking so too, like a
- 1:16:33travel day. Maybe 2 days while they were
- 1:16:35there because they were in San Francisco for at least two days.
- 1:16:40I don't know. I it's hard to.
- 1:16:42Yeah. So let's go with three days.
- 1:16:44I'm just teeing it up as another
- 1:16:46Were they really gone for three days?
- 1:16:48How many days were they gone? Who knows?
- 1:16:50Never going to let us know, Never going to let us know.
- 1:16:54Never going to tell us something.
- 1:16:57These stalkers lie, and they heard us.
- 1:17:01You you'd worked in ripping your
- 1:17:04earlier, which was a whole a whole new level for any podcast,
- 1:17:09let alone our podcast. It was.
- 1:17:10These people, they inspire me.
- 1:17:14You. They do.
- 1:17:16Christine says they tried on dress after dress after dress
- 1:17:19for millions of days. And I was reminded, That's
- 1:17:22right, Christine, you drive me
- 1:17:26You're the reason Mckelty is the
- 1:17:28I just don't know what to say.
- 1:17:32us to find something modest, says Robyn.
- 1:17:35So we're talking about designing
- 1:17:38our modesty requirements and also something that fits our
- 1:17:42body shapes and sizes. I thought that was wonderful
- 1:17:45that Robyn was being so inclusive of her sister vibes.
- 1:17:48They're different shapes and sizes, which is how I always
- 1:17:53like to have my body referred to
- 1:17:57Right. Thanks, Robyn.
- 1:18:00Thanks. We got the lava lamp over here,
- 1:18:04we got the basketball hoop, we
- 1:18:10got me the hourglass. Fucking Robyn.
- 1:18:16Not the basketball. Hoop.
- 1:18:18I don't know. Who's that?
- 1:18:20I have no idea. Oh my God, so good.
- 1:18:25Oh, I could describe my body, some parts of it in shapes and
- 1:18:30sizes, but if someone else was
- 1:18:33size, I would be like check yourself, check yourself.
- 1:18:36You best watch yourself. Don't go say that, you better
- 1:18:41keep sweet over there. As long as I'm never described
- 1:18:44as a thumb, I think I'll be fine
- 1:18:49here. Of course, Kody has to continue
- 1:18:53on his humorous journey by saying it feels cliche.
- 1:18:56You guys went shopping for three days and didn't come home with
- 1:19:07And it's totally something my dad would say.
- 1:19:09Like you went shopping for three days and you didn't even find
- 1:19:11anything. Of course.
- 1:19:12And we would all be like, of course, mom, sorry, mom, if
- 1:19:15you're listening to this, which you're not, I'm sorry.
- 1:19:19In their defense, whenever you have money and you're looking
- 1:19:23for something, you can never find anything.
- 1:19:25And whenever you don't have money and you're not looking,
- 1:19:28that's when you find what you really would love to buy and
- 1:19:32have. So yeah, I feel that that's how
- 1:19:34it works out. Robyn says he wanted us to bond,
- 1:19:40That's what it was all about, bonding.
- 1:19:42So if you're asking if we succeeded, we did.
- 1:19:44And I just want to say the word bonding one more time.
- 1:19:48And of course, we have to wrap this episode up with a lovely
- 1:19:52scene. So we get to Robyn's house for
- 1:19:59Little shocked that they're at
- 1:20:01Robyn's and not Meri's, but who knows what's going on at
- 1:20:04Meri's? She's got all of those orders to
- 1:20:12kitchen table right now. So we've got to go to Robyn's
- 1:20:15for dinner. And Janelle says it feels like a
- 1:20:26It feels like home because everybody's here now when you're
- 1:20:35been hallucinating, but I think it did look like a bunch of to
- 1:20:45orchestrating anything. Also, Meri's fulfilling orders
- 1:20:51International World headquarters at Robyn's place.
- 1:20:54I mean, there has been a shift in the business and the strategy
- 1:20:59Very disappointed puddle monkey. Well, that's where the designing
- 1:21:12keep. But the orders, they go through
- 1:21:17Meri's house, right. So the production versus the
- 1:21:23disbursement, you know the last mile that it's got to get out
- 1:21:31that goes through Meri. Yes, Robyn gets to manage
- 1:21:37creative and strategy, and Meri gets to do fulfillment and
- 1:21:42shipping. So in this case, Meri's
- 1:21:47definitely the basketball hoop, and Robyn still gets to keep
- 1:21:51that hourglass figure. And that's why Meri needed her
- 1:22:01Her projects, it's all making. Boxes and boxes and things that
- 1:22:06need to be shipped out, you know?
- 1:22:08And when she spends hours and hours on her phone, she's not
- 1:22:11texting someone that nobody knows.
- 1:22:13No, she's fulfilling the orders and responding to customer
- 1:22:18inquiries. Where's my package?
- 1:22:19And she goes, hey, it's Meri here from the show.
- 1:22:22And everyone's like, Meri's texting me about my jewelry
- 1:22:25order. Gosh, she's.
- 1:22:28So busy SO. What a mess.
- 1:22:31Now honey, this coming up on the little dramatic little dramatic
- 1:22:36little drums. Yeah, we just see that truly is
- 1:22:41really sick. Aspen is crying at some point
- 1:22:46and I started crying in the next step on I tear it up.
- 1:22:51I'm so glad you said this because the only thing I had
- 1:22:55noted about the coming up on is that I have lived through this
- 1:23:04listeners at home, by the way, Truly doesn't just get better
- 1:23:08miraculously, OK, The family does have a moment.
- 1:23:10And we see it in the coming up on where they're in a circle and
- 1:23:17thick throat right now. When I watched it the first
- 1:23:22time, like I cried. It's very moving.
- 1:23:25So we can't give too much away. We're not even in that episode.
- 1:23:29Girl I can't talk about this
- 1:23:30anymore but. Aspen reacts how a mom would
- 1:23:33react. As moving as it is, it was also
- 1:23:37disturbing. And that was just in the next
- 1:23:40step on, I hope that my kids love each other enough to react
- 1:23:45that way. But for a child, Aspen, still a
- 1:23:48child, she's 18. For a child to react the way
- 1:23:51that she reacts in that clip, it's the way that a mother would
- 1:23:55react to their own child. And so that's why I started
- 1:23:58tearing up. And I'm like, I'm getting the
- 1:24:01thick throat because the fact that she had that much
- 1:24:07heartbreak and like the outcry
- 1:24:11heartbreaking. They have parentified some of
- 1:24:15these children so much. And it's not that you shouldn't
- 1:24:17care about your siblings, but the reaction that came from her
- 1:24:22was the reaction I would expect to see from Christine's.
- 1:24:25I am. I'm going to cry during this
- 1:24:28next episode. I know I'm going to cry.
- 1:24:29I'm for sure going to cry. Even though I know Truly is
- 1:24:33still alive. She is with us.
- 1:24:35She's here today. She is.
- 1:24:38She's on this earth tormenting
- 1:24:40She absolutely is. I think for me it's the fact
- 1:24:45that I can sense the despair from Aspen and it feels like a
- 1:24:51mom's despair and it's kind of
- 1:24:57It's so funny that we're talking
- 1:25:00next episode and we're both like
- 1:25:03swallowing. Like it's intense.
- 1:25:06It's intense. It's going to be doozy.
- 1:25:08It's going to. Be doozy.
- 1:25:10Oh my gosh, everybody, it's going to be something.
- 1:25:13Be prepared for the Lord, my gods, because days are coming.
- 1:25:18To say this is the perfect opportunity for me to remind you
- 1:25:20to like and subscribe and to follow and to please give us
- 1:25:24five stars and only five stars.
- 1:25:26OK, now we are on to mustard seed and shit stain.
- 1:25:30I'm going to ask you for your mustard seed for this episode.
- 1:25:39and it's who I'm going to pick. So I get to go 1st and pick this
- 1:25:48Aspen was a silent hero behind the scenes.
- 1:25:52She didn't toot her own horn too much.
- 1:25:55She could have been. She should have.
- 1:25:58And she was appalled by the fact that Kody didn't want to plan
- 1:26:04dinners. And she was running the show
- 1:26:09apparently, you know, to everybody but Kody.
- 1:26:13I think Kody truly thinks that he had it on the lockdown and
- 1:26:17that he was in charge. But I think that if we're being
- 1:26:20honest, and if he was being honest with himself, which he
- 1:26:22will never be, she is the one that was in charge.
- 1:26:26And I applaud her for stepping up because she didn't have to.
- 1:26:40know, that's her nature because she had to step up so much as a
- 1:26:46child. So she has that mom instinct
- 1:26:49where she couldn't just let it all go to shit.
- 1:26:52So Aspen is going to get my mustard seed and she got it last
- 1:26:59And I gave her a shit stain once and now she's gotten 2 mustard
- 1:27:07And I don't know how she is as a
- 1:27:10person nowadays so I don't know about that.
- 1:27:14But she's getting my mustard seed and she totally deserves
- 1:27:17it. She's on Logan Brown status with
- 1:27:20me at this point. Wow, wow, that's great.
- 1:27:23Saying a lot. We just watched an episode for
- 1:27:27her high school graduation. This girl, if I was her, I'd be
- 1:27:33like, I'm out, figure your shit out.
- 1:27:35I wouldn't be doing this at all.
- 1:27:37So, you know, not only the like neglecting or not taking it
- 1:27:41seriously in the moment, I would have been like, my bags are in
- 1:27:45Figure your own shit out. So yeah, she's she's one of the
- 1:27:48good ones. That's why it's so heartbreaking
- 1:27:58that she did not have to. It kind of speaks volumes to how
- 1:28:08But there are two types of people in this world.
- 1:28:12There are the kinds that are going to step up and step in
- 1:28:16because they have the heart and they know that they have to.
- 1:28:21And then there's the other ones that can't do it and they don't
- 1:28:25have to. And you know what?
- 1:28:27That's fine. That is good on them, too.
- 1:28:29That's a decision you have to make to protect yourselves.
- 1:28:31So there's the ones that are going to step away and that have
- 1:28:37fall. And she stepped up.
- 1:28:40So. Yeah.
- 1:28:41Well earned mustard seed for Aspen.
- 1:28:43I'm going to give my mustard seed to Janelle because of
- 1:28:48course the 5K what not her putting on that hideous blue
- 1:28:52T-shirt. She looked great.
- 1:28:54I love that she picked up the pace at the end and ran to that
- 1:28:58finish line. I also enjoyed her quips and
- 1:29:02attitude and silliness while they were in San Francisco and
- 1:29:09going to tell me what to do when it comes to something like
- 1:29:13this. And was she finger wagged and
- 1:29:14reprimanded by Robyn? Yes, but she didn't seem to be
- 1:29:17all that affected. And she also during that scene
- 1:29:20where Robyn referred to it as a party and she was correcting
- 1:29:23her and then, you know, realized her place a little bit.
- 1:29:27But I like to give a mustard seed to Janelle when she earns
- 1:29:30it and she earned it from me. Now it is time for you to
- 1:29:34explode your pants with diarrhea.
- 1:29:40No diarrhea, Mamma Mia. You keep just giving me these
- 1:29:44things to sing and it's your fucking fault this time around.
- 1:29:47You keep setting me up for it.
- 1:29:53shit stain. It is obviously going to go to
- 1:29:57Robyn. She needs it.
- 1:30:02She's wearing it down the front of her ugly ass hot pink
- 1:30:08magenta dress. That shit stain is smeared all
- 1:30:11the way down that magenta dress.
- 1:30:14Number one. She brought baby Sala on this
- 1:30:18girl's trip for no fucking reason whatsoever.
- 1:30:20She could have pumped if she needed to.
- 1:30:22She did not need to bring him with.
- 1:30:24He's a crutch for her. She's ruining spoiling her
- 1:30:29children. They say you can't spoil a
- 1:30:31child. She has obviously spoiled her
- 1:30:33children. She tried on all of those
- 1:30:36dresses in front of the wives like it was no big deal and put
- 1:30:40on a little fashion show and was like Oh my God, like I'm so
- 1:30:43sorry that I have to do this. Oh me sure, I'll try that on for
- 1:30:49Fucking full of herself. Then she flipped the script and
- 1:30:54got like irked by the store owner of the plus size store.
- 1:30:58Like oh I got attitude from her Oh my God like I'm so sorry I'm
- 1:31:03not plus size fuck off. Then she decided to try to shame
- 1:31:14even disparaging about Kody. And I think this is one of the
- 1:31:26head that is Kody Brown behind the scenes with the other wives
- 1:31:33present. I think that there has been
- 1:31:36manipulation going on behind the scenes for a long time that we
- 1:31:44have from today's context. But I think in this episode,
- 1:31:49there were multiple instances where it was just in our face
- 1:31:55how phony she is and that underhanded mean girl vibe.
- 1:32:01Regina George, the Regina George of it.
- 1:32:05I'm experiencing A hallucination right now.
- 1:32:08A visual, a vision brought to me by God from the celestial
- 1:32:15Kingdom of Robyn, wiping her ass with those billowy sleeves and
- 1:32:24On her. Sleeves.
- 1:32:26And she deserves it. My shit stain is going to her
- 1:32:32loving husband, Kody Brown. Of course, of course.
- 1:32:35Because he he burnt those steaks.
- 1:32:38Unforgivable. No other reason whatsoever.
- 1:32:41No other reason. Dare you burn a steak, Kody
- 1:32:44Brown? And it's not the first time
- 1:32:46you've done this to us. How dare you waste God's
- 1:32:49precious meats? He can't.
- 1:32:51He's not a man. He cannot grill.
- 1:32:54Terrible. We've seen it so many times.
- 1:32:56I know, I know, I know. Obviously, you know, leaning on
- 1:33:01Aspen excessively, calling her 16 times after 3:00 PM in one
- 1:33:06day, That's insane. Neglecting truly not taking it
- 1:33:14home he probably was really attentive to Robyn and nobody
- 1:33:18else. I'm just making that assumption
- 1:33:19and I'm pretty sure I'm right. Because of her low blood sugar
- 1:33:31God, these people. Not her blood sugar.
- 1:33:38Bad, bad. The bad backs cutting off the
- 1:33:44blood flow to her brain. It's not her fault.
- 1:33:46I mean, she's got to carry that jaw around.
- 1:33:50It's just she's a mess. She's a mess.
- 1:33:51It's. Too much.
- 1:33:52It's too it would be too much for anyone.
- 1:33:54Who are we to say? Truly, truly.
- 1:33:57Oh God, I don't even need to spend any more time on Kody
- 1:34:01Brown. He is a shit stain and everybody
- 1:34:10from a toe. We'll give him that.
- 1:34:12Our keep sweet moment this week is a comment left on our season
- 1:34:176 episode 13 rewatch boys Night out and this is on Patreon.
- 1:34:23Patreon friendly reminder another plug and come back after
- 1:34:34This comment is from Chelsea and Chelsea says in reference to oh,
- 1:34:47So Chelsea was the first person to comment on this.
- 1:34:52We've received others and so honorable mentions to those who
- 1:34:54have followed up with further details, but Chelsea was the
- 1:34:57first person to leave a comment. And Chelsea says in reference to
- 1:35:03It was in season 2 episode 9. If you Google Robyn Brown
- 1:35:09kicking dog it will pop up on a couple of Reddit posts but only
- 1:35:14in slow motion. However, you can definitely see
- 1:35:16that she is kicking the dog. I love your podcast, makes me
- 1:35:21laugh every time I listen. So thank you Chelsea for the
- 1:35:24compliment. Of course, which is why I'm
- 1:35:26reading your Keep Suite, because I need praise.
- 1:35:29Kimber will accept the praise. I need it to live and so
- 1:35:34appreciate the tidbit on where we can find this footage.
- 1:35:37I may or may not have found it. It is actually still in the
- 1:35:41episode. I think I refer to it as
- 1:35:43potentially cut from the episode, but it's still there.
- 1:35:49It was a little hard for me to decipher exactly what's going on
- 1:36:07The dog does get physically moved back by her leg, so I've
- 1:36:13recorded the footage. We may do something with it.
- 1:36:18Should we say something right now, salacious so that I can use
- 1:36:21it in a clip that's like, she kicked the dog in the face and
- 1:36:24the dog barely survived. Like, how do we make it?
- 1:36:27How do we give it the Robyn treatment it deserves?
- 1:36:30My thought behind this is if she
- 1:36:37the cameras are here, what is she doing when the cameras are
- 1:36:39not there? Because the clip, it looks like
- 1:36:44the dog is a happy, excited dog and it's getting close.
- 1:36:48But she had to move her body out
- 1:36:53And she doesn't kick the dog, but she kicks her foot up and
- 1:36:56pushes the dog with her foot. So it's not like a hard kick,
- 1:37:01but it's like she puts her foot up, makes contact and pushes
- 1:37:05with her foot to push the dog away.
- 1:37:07So she had to go out of her way to do this.
- 1:37:11Now from a person that was raised with dogs and large dogs
- 1:37:15and hunting dogs, my dad was a
- 1:37:19He trained our dogs very well.
- 1:37:24was a jumper, you would do like a gentle knee to the chest.
- 1:37:28So if the dog was going to jump up on you, a knee to the chest,
- 1:37:31you don't have to do anything but put your knee up and your
- 1:37:34knee just touches their chest naturally, they go down.
- 1:37:39They stop doing it after a time because they know they're not
- 1:37:41going to like get anything from you other than just like you're
- 1:37:44putting your knee up to block them.
- 1:37:47And that would have been an easy
- 1:37:51excited like this. I think at this point in the
- 1:37:56filming, she knew the dogs well enough to know if they were
- 1:38:00coming at her aggressively or not.
- 1:38:01So I don't buy the angle that the dog was coming out them to
- 1:38:04jump on them or being aggressive.
- 1:38:06No, that's bullshit. You know these dogs by now you
- 1:38:10should know if the dog is going to bite or whatever.
- 1:38:15So you can't even pretend that
- 1:38:19She went out of her way to move her leg across her body, kick
- 1:38:24out and push the dog. That's my take.
- 1:38:28I just can't help but think what
- 1:38:32like a 15 or 20 foot dog come and kick Robyn out of the way.
- 1:38:36I think that would be nice as she's approaching, right?
- 1:38:40As if we needed any more reasons
- 1:38:42We don't need any more reasons, she's just putting them up on a
- 1:38:45platter. Here I am kicking dogs while I'm
- 1:38:47being filmed. She is, though, like she really
- 1:38:50is an if she's doing this on film, what is she doing off
- 1:38:55film? You know, this might have been
- 1:38:57her gently kicking the dog out
- 1:39:00film. But if she thinks this is OK, Oh
- 1:39:03well, like just pushed it with
- 1:39:06whatever. Imagine what she does when she's
- 1:39:09not on camera. Because we all know that what
- 1:39:12you're going to do in front of
- 1:39:15times over when there's nobody
- 1:39:20So I just wonder what her behavior towards animals is like
- 1:39:25when nobody's watching and no cameras are rolling.
- 1:39:28Speaking of not being documented
- 1:39:34going to cry like a baby next week.
- 1:39:37I'm hoping I get all of my tears
- 1:39:40That seems unlikely, so be prepared to hear me cry next
- 1:39:44week. You've been warned.
- 1:39:46Same ZS and I'll be wearing my
- 1:39:54top just for Christopher to see.
- 1:39:56He'll have to sit across from me during the recording going.
- 1:40:00We were we were looking at that. I'll look tan as hell, that's
- 1:40:05for sure. Are we allowed to give a shit
- 1:40:08stain to a Co host? I don't think so.
- 1:40:13No, no, no.
