Latest / Corporate Dropout / Getting Personal with Miles and Troy: Unfiltered Q&A
Transcript
- 0:13You just drop back into corporate drop out. Drum roll for the guests today. Where's your drum roll,
- 0:18bro? Absolutely no one.
- 0:26We're getting back to our roots. Miles is dressed like he was a part of the French Revolution. I got
- 0:32the same beanie on. How are you feeling? Hot and steamy over there. Feeling a little. I'm feeling
- 0:36studious today. We got the beanies on. It's gonna look a little hot, but, you know, it's just. Just us
- 0:41today. Just, like, all the time. It's just us. As a matter of fact, you guys are interviewing us today.
- 0:45We're going to go through a Q&A. You know, we ask a lot of people, a lot of questions, but what do you
- 0:50want to know from us? I'm an open book. You open book. I'm wide. Open. Oh, wow. Okay. Wide open. So we're
- 0:56gonna go through all these questions and, um, from the series to the sentimental. To the goofy. To the
- 1:02silly. To possibly the freaky. I guess we'll answer those, um, from your, uh, studious fit and
- 1:08opinion. Where do you see yourself in five years? Looks like you got some investments lined up
- 1:12today with that fit. In five years. Um. Wow. What do I see that? See,
- 1:19that's that's a question. Yeah, that's that's quite the question I can answer first, if you want me to.
- 1:23You go first. I'll let you go first. All right. So we're gonna we'll probably get into my school
- 1:27stuff later. You know, I got my investments rolling. I just got out here to New York. In five years, I
- 1:33hope to see myself with more bread. Maybe owning a property. Mm. Being a grown man,
- 1:40hopefully. I mean, our apartment has a kids center. Hopefully. I'm not using that by then, but I hope
- 1:46to be happy, healthy, family happy and healthy. More money and more money invested.
- 1:53So when I'm 60 and I'm not doing buck bangs anymore, I don't have to worry about putting the
- 1:59putting the fries in the bag. You know what I mean? How are you feeling over there? I think I mean,
- 2:03that was. That was beautiful. Uh, my main goal, I guess, is just to be happy. I got some little
- 2:08business plans. I don't want to speak too much. I don't I feel like if you overshare sometimes, it,
- 2:12um. It could, it could affect the outcome, but. It manifested in the wrong. Way. Yeah. I also see
- 2:18myself, hopefully with a nice little property and, um, kind of want to get a dog eventually. You see
- 2:22yourself living with me in five years? No. Definitely not. But hey, we hope we
- 2:29stay friends though, for sure. Okay, yeah, sure. I'll make it to the wedding. So should I do the next
- 2:34question? I, um, yeah, I guess I'll get into the next question. The next one
- 2:41is, how did you guys get into modeling? I mean, you modeled a little bit more than me. I've done, you
- 2:45know, a few shoots here and there. I know you're a little cockeyed, so it's kind of. Yeah, I know it's.
- 2:51Um. But for me personally, it was just straight up, um, being doing fashion content for a long time. A
- 2:58lot of the brands you model for, people that like you end up being friends with and being homies
- 3:02with. So a lot of times they just reach out off the love. I feel like a lot of you guys ask me for
- 3:09modeling stuff. I did start as a model, but it was kind of a flop. I was with a agency in Chicago and
- 3:14they kind of told me I never walk a runway, didn't really book any jobs. The way I get my jobs is not
- 3:20the conventional route. I, like Milo, said. We kind of get them off social media. That whole four, two,
- 3:25four show I walked. I got it straight off of muck bangs on the internet. So it's an unconventional
- 3:31approach if you're looking for the more proper way. I've been told this a million times you got
- 3:36to shoot digitals. So if you're a girl or a guy, just go on the internet. Type in. Men's digitals is
- 3:42going to be a dude in a tank top in some skinny fitted jeans. You're going to take those pictures,
- 3:46you're going to shoot a personality video. You can fake it if you want to. I'd be like, hi, I'm Troy, I
- 3:51play basketball, I do all these cool little things. You should book me for a shoot. And then you just
- 3:55get your measurements, and then you're gonna reach out to mother agencies. A mother agency kind of
- 4:01looks over all the different parts on the map in which you're going to work. And once you get that
- 4:06mother agent, they're gonna book you for castings. You go to the castings, and now you're getting
- 4:10jobs. But it's pretty cutthroat. And it's like an industry that's kind of based on your physical
- 4:17appearance and not much more about what's going on inside your mind. So it's pretty. Amazing a
- 4:22little bit, though. So I feel like a lot of social, like if you have like a social following,
- 4:26especially if you start to build it up, it does increase your chances. Yeah. I mean, like if you
- 4:31look at fashion shows the past like three years, they're not really booking conventional models
- 4:35anymore. Like you're going to see net spin walking down the runway. My homie. Yeah I walked with
- 4:40clavicle or I walked with opium baby. And Jesus like my homie he walked with Kodak Black. So
- 4:46you're either gonna go the conventional route or just build some motion online and it might pay
- 4:51off that way. Our models, even models anymore. Are they just famous people who are tall and skinny?
- 4:56Well, shows nowadays I kind of don't like it, even though I'm a part of it. It's less about the
- 5:02fashion now and the clothes, and more about what's going to get the most social media interaction. So
- 5:07what I'm saying. I mean, I feel like, no offense, but aren't you a little tall to be. A little bit the
- 5:13prime model? Heavier. Dude, six one. Six two. You're in the money. I'm, uh. I'm gonna say six six. Because
- 5:19if I say the other inch above, everyone starts going like this. But I am a little too tall. When I
- 5:24used to go to the castings, I used to take the insoles out of my shoes, so I appeared shorter. I'd
- 5:28tell them I'm six three, and then they'd be like, oh, you look a little taller. I'd be like, oh. The
- 5:32reverse height. Yeah, they're the reverse height boosters. And then I'd be like, oh my, my basketball
- 5:37team is going to be happy that I'm a little taller. But that's kind of the approach you take.
- 5:41Conventional and unconventional. Um, maybe we get a model on here and they do the full breakdown. Yeah.
- 5:47Alex, I want to see let us know we can we can get a motto on here, and they can give you all a
- 5:51different outlook on. Yeah. Pick your favorite model commented below, getting a couple questions
- 5:55on if we should become rappers and then be the next Rae Sremmurd and make a couple songs and
- 6:02then, you know, screw the whole social media thing. Let's just make party music. You think you have on
- 6:06the beat one time. Sometimes when we get fried, we start freestyling and I don't think we're there
- 6:11yet. Not yet though. It's not not saying no, but we're not there yet. If I were to make a song, I'd
- 6:18have to go off the dome. No notes. I'm gonna write some deep shit down. Maybe we make a song
- 6:25on the podcast. Maybe you get, like, a Playboy Max in here. No, I'm writing something. I'm gonna get
- 6:30deep and philosophical in my tracks. Okay, wait. There's a contrasting perspective on this one. How
- 6:36long did you. How long did it take to grow your hair? Because you just under that hair, there's a
- 6:42whole bunch of nothing. Now, how long till you grow your dreads? Uh, Like six years. Damn. Yeah.
- 6:49And then just one day, I woke up. I posted the video, did pretty well, but I woke up and I was
- 6:54like, I'm done. I wasn't going through nothing. I was in a lot of dancing. Like, are you going
- 6:57through something mentally? But I was like, bro, I just woke up and I was like, yo, I'm over it. I
- 7:01don't want hair in the back of my neck. I like swimming in pools, I enjoy pools. I really like
- 7:06pools. Worst thing about getting out of pools is you just got wet locks on your neck all day, bro.
- 7:10And you gotta go get a read twist. It's like 200. You got to tip them. You gotta wait and never have
- 7:14AC in there. They pull on your hair. Advil doesn't work. You just gotta deal with it. Then you leave,
- 7:19then you go to sleep. It hurts again. For what? Yeah. I kind of just roll out of bed and call it a day.
- 7:25Well, I had a pixie cut 2000 scare and soccer mom cut before this. That was a year ago. So I've made
- 7:31this much progress. In one year, my hair grows like a weed, though maybe it is because I smoke a lot
- 7:36of greenery. I don't know, maybe that's something to do with it. Good. Probably does. You got like, you
- 7:41got something more sentimental for me over there. Sentimental vibes right. Now. Yeah, I don't know. Um,
- 7:46maybe it's a therapy session today. Uh, I'm not getting much sentimental on this. On this right
- 7:51now. Well, well, what did you do to help start out with your content?
- 7:58I just generally loved editing and posting videos. I love. The game. I just loved it. I still love it.
- 8:05It's just like, I like I like, like my favorite part of it is when you post a video and you read
- 8:08the comments, bro. I single, I think my the people who be in my comments are like like the funniest
- 8:13people in the world bro. Like I will post sometimes just to read comments, just to just to
- 8:18read what people got to say. Just for. Fun. Yeah bro. I think all the, the stuff they got to say is
- 8:25way more lit than what I gotta say. I mean, yeah, I feel like I was in it for the love of the game
- 8:29too. I was making Fortnite montages, I was making vlogs. I was never the type of YouTube video dude
- 8:35to be like spending 24 hours at Walmart or anything like that. But love the game consistency
- 8:42and you can't base how far you've come off motivation because motivation runs out. You're
- 8:48going to feel like a slacker one day, but you still get a lock in. There's things you got to get
- 8:51done every day. What's your favorite country you've been to? My favorite country.
- 9:00I mean, for me, it was my first trip ever South Korea. First time out of the country and I'm on my
- 9:05one's out there for three weeks just figuring it out. I only know two words. What is it?
- 9:12And I say, oh, and come somebody. Duh. I think that's like, thank you or something.
- 9:19But you know yourself as a man, you should definitely take a solo trip. I do have a story
- 9:24about this though. Same night in the club. First of all, dude, I'm dancing and dancing,
- 9:32dude. Shoulder bumps. Me, I turn around, he looks like stereotypical villain. Like tattoos.
- 9:38Ponytail, leather jacket. Okay. Maybe about five, nine, five eight. He
- 9:45bumps into me. He turns around. Slaps the shit out of me. What? Mind you, I'm. I'm a little
- 9:52tipsy. I'm a little groovy. I ain't really. He just slapped. You. Yeah, he slapped me. I don't know what
- 9:57he called me. And then, um. I just kind of laughed, bro. And you know, that leather jacket was hefty. I
- 10:03couldn't really tell. I felt it a little bit, but, you know, I just kind of laughed it off. Because
- 10:08I'm not gonna fight someone in South Korea and then get locked up for the rest of my life. No one
- 10:13to pick your battles. Because after he slapped me, they picked him up, threw him out of the club, and
- 10:19then right after that, you know, I'm in there having a drink. I'm Google, translating, talking to
- 10:24this dude. And one thing I didn't realize is sometimes the words don't translate correctly. So
- 10:30we're having a couple of drinks being this guy, having a conversation, you know, very friend like.
- 10:36And then he Google translates me something. he's like. Do you want to leave? I want to
- 10:43play with you, I said. Safety. I was like. You didn't run that
- 10:49well. That kind of threw me off. So I slowly, respectfully migrated to the other side of
- 10:56the bar. Okay. But then next day I realized what Google translates. I want to
- 11:03play with you really just means I just want to hang out, chill, be cool. So he
- 11:10wasn't trying to translate. He wasn't trying to, you know. Damn. Kiss. He was just trying to
- 11:17chill. I understand. But that was a pretty memorable moment for me. Damn. Once you go out the
- 11:22country, that culture shock like you gain a whole new perspective on life. You really be walking
- 11:27around like, wow, people really grew up here. They ain't got chick fil A, they ain't got Chipotle,
- 11:33they ain't got the Dispo. I mean, I'm not really thinking about that actually at all. I And just
- 11:38kind of how, like, people just live such different lives. I feel like this is something that people
- 11:42really don't know about, and we're gonna have contrasting answers. What are things you don't
- 11:46like, slash um, or what are things you don't like about being known? Slash being in the industry.
- 11:52You're in. Mhm. I can't answer my question. If you
- 11:59want to sit there and think about it, go ahead. Um. Everyone knows everyone.
- 12:06It's a lot like before I was making content. I used to think like, oh, it's a whole nother world
- 12:11up here. Like, no one really knows each other. Everyone knows everything. False information and
- 12:18rumors are gonna spread. Um, people talk and you gotta think
- 12:25like we have, like, me and Miles started as Instagram
- 12:32friends. Really? And now we live together. And when you kind of meet someone that you work on the
- 12:37same thing. Like if you meet someone at your job, you kind of relate on that and kind of get close
- 12:42quick. I feel like you kind of gotta watch your back because you don't know what
- 12:49people's intentions are. Like, a lot of people are just like, cool, we're homies. Like, some people are
- 12:55just quote unquote clout chasing. Some people are looking for a reason to like one up. You. Some
- 13:01people treat it as a competition. Like, uh, I'm doing better with my socials than you. I'm in
- 13:08these places like I'm flexing on you. I hate when people treat you like a competition. Like, bro,
- 13:15we're all just. A little bit. You disagree a little bit. I feel like a little friendly competition. You
- 13:20don't gotta, like, hate the person. I feel like if you have, like, like someone who makes similar
- 13:24content to you, like a little, like in your head, like, oh, he made this. I'm gonna make this. And then
- 13:30he does that. I feel like it kind of makes both content better, but, like, you don't have to be like.
- 13:35Like in, like, a rude way. But like, let's say you post an eating video and you edit it super fire.
- 13:41And I'm like, well, I'm gonna try that. And I edited mine super fine. Oh, I'll do him, aunt. Both of our
- 13:45content's doing what on both of our videos. Increasing in quality.
- 13:53Yeah. But like for the. Right reasons. Comp. Yeah. Friendly comp I mean yeah yeah, yeah, I see what
- 13:59you see. There's two sides to it. Yeah, there's definitely an evil side to it as well. But I feel
- 14:02like if you do it in like a friendly way. But you know, I think my things more of just like if you
- 14:08do something, everyone's gonna find out. Oh, yeah, I know that for sure. Especially like when you, when
- 14:12I first kind of got into, like, the social media space, like, you kind of like meet people and you
- 14:18think that they're, like, genuinely genuine friends and they just be chatting, bro. Chat and like,
- 14:24overly chat. Just like, like, I'll be outside and then I'll hear something about myself that I
- 14:29didn't even know. Yeah, no, I didn't do that. Like, people will not like you over something that you
- 14:35didn't even know you did. And that's just like, you just gotta deal with it and just take it on the
- 14:39chin. Yeah. You gotta you gotta be careful. But you know, me and Miles kind of just mind our business
- 14:45over here with the make up videos. Shoot this podcast. So, you know, hopefully no one has anything
- 14:50too bad to say about us. Definitely. Do we try to be kind with our stupid hats on? Yeah.
- 14:58I gotta answer some car questions because I got a lot. Oh, yeah. Tell us about that car, Miles. What a
- 15:03lot of the questions are. Why do you have so many cars? Um, please answer that. Because we're in New
- 15:08York, bred for the car. Let me let me let me pay you this picture. Right. Yeah. Paint the picture
- 15:11real. Well a year and a half ago and go to Romania, right? I rent a nice GT3. Okay. Get on the
- 15:18roads. I go past the Dracula's castle. I just keep driving and I'm in the mountains, going through
- 15:23like the the the the trees. It's snowing. I'm just going. I got my homie in the car that I met in
- 15:28Romania. Just off a story post and we're like, she's like, yo, keep, keep going north, keep going
- 15:32north. Then I hear like the Ukraine war. Like we're at the border. I hate the Ukraine war. I'm hearing
- 15:38like bombs going off. I'm going through the mountains, I see Dracula's castle. And I was like,
- 15:42bro, I'm just like driving a porch, living life. And I just really fell in love with cars. And that's
- 15:48real life. That sounds like a dream, bro. It was real life. I got the videos and then after that I
- 15:53got back and I was like, bro, I like, I think I like it, like, I like, I just loved it so much. And then I
- 15:58ended up kind of getting into more cars. But a lot of questions are like, how do you afford them? But
- 16:03if you buy the right car at the right time, it's free. Can you break that? Yeah, write that
- 16:10down, please. For example, the Audi R8 that I picked up, I knew because I have like too much screen
- 16:16time. The Audi in like no car brand is making any v tens. So I'm like, yo, this is the last v ten ever
- 16:21made. Which is like the engine. So I'm like, this is bound to go up in value. So I bought it. And like
- 16:26at the time that car was worth around like 120. I got it for weigh less than I fixed it up, but at
- 16:31the time the car was worth around 120. Fast forward like two months. Audi announces no more
- 16:36VNS, so there's no more VNS being made in the world. So that drove my value up by like 40 K. So
- 16:43when I go to sell it, I'm making money on it. Can you or you could break that down to like any car.
- 16:48You just got to recognize like trends in the market. And once you get one you kind of got one
- 16:52foot in the door and then you just kind of jump around. So I remember last like like on the 420
- 16:58you're talking about, it was a barnyard find. It is. It was a barn find. Can you. Yeah. So if you're open,
- 17:05can you break down those numbers? Yeah. So I picked up my my R8. I was, I was scrolling on Facebook
- 17:11like 4 a.m. and I saw this R8 and I was like, it was like 76 K. I'm like, what's wrong with it? He
- 17:16said, flood damage. I said, don't move. I'm coming to look at it tomorrow. I literally left the crib an
- 17:20hour later. Drove three hours. He was like, yo, if you want it, like you got to do it. I didn't have a
- 17:2576 K liquid, so I had to give him a little deposit. Went back to the crib. How to analyze how I'm
- 17:31gonna get 76 K. I sold one of my other cars, sold some clothes, got to 76. Got the
- 17:38car, had to repair, you know, a few little parts in here. You know, a seat here, a little module there.
- 17:44Three cars in car as good as new. And now I'm like, it's on the market right now. I'm probably gonna
- 17:48try to get like 130 for it. And I'm gonna take that money and take a little bit for myself. And
- 17:52we just redo it. So by the car, when it's a low price, buy a
- 17:59bunch of parts, put it all together, make it look spick span, spiffy and beautiful. But you gotta
- 18:04love it, though. Or else it feels like work. It's all for the love of the game. It feels like work.
- 18:07All right. Drive it around a little bit. Get bored. Sell it. Rinse and repeat. I could do that. Honestly,
- 18:14if I really love the car, I'd keep it forever. But that car just isn't for me. Okay, though. But here's
- 18:17my question. So I was pushing good. Ford escape. Six years in Michigan. Okay. Sold my car. I don't have a
- 18:24car. I don't really need a car here. So why in the hell do you need four cars? You got it. Okay, so you
- 18:29got your date night car, right? Little two seater John for me. Some slick, some comfortable, some that
- 18:36shawty likes. That's one thing. Okay. And you got your daily. You want something a little bigger. You
- 18:40got space. You got the homies in. That's another one. Then you got your project car. That's the car
- 18:44made for you. Everything in there is for you. The seat that fits you the best. The gear that you
- 18:48like the best. The. The handling. Everything that wheels you like. That's your project. Car ticket to
- 18:53the track, whatever. And then you solid with three. But sometimes you can go up a little bit for the
- 18:58four. You usually have the investment one. Right. The car that's going to go up in value that you
- 19:02know. So you bring it out to, you know, a little car show, a little cars and coffee pop out stunting a
- 19:06little bit. And then, yeah, nothing too crazy, don't you? You actually showed me like, I've never
- 19:12actually heard of this before. You told me before. Don't you, like, share one of your car with your
- 19:17homies? Yeah, I got a I got an old BMW e30. Also living in a city. Keeping the cars is also
- 19:23expensive too. I don't keep, I don't keep. I only keep one car at this apartment at a time. So like
- 19:29I'll drive like my M3 for a week and then I'll go swap it out with my R8 drive that for a little
- 19:34bit just because like the paying to keep a car in Jersey City or New York is just mad expensive. So
- 19:41what was your question like? I feel like a lot of people maybe not have the funds to get
- 19:48the new car and start building it up. What are the advantages of, like, doing it with homies? Oh, um. You
- 19:54know what I mean? You guys both get to enjoy the car. Definitely had homie that you trust. Um, I
- 20:00wouldn't do it with, like, I have some homies in Miami that share yours three ways and each pay
- 20:03200. Don't do that. Because then you gotta, you know who wants it on Friday type shit. But I got to be
- 20:07a car that, like you, don't mind not having for a little bit. And then once you have one second
- 20:13bread, then you got two. It's like your brother, you got three. Now you got a fleet, and then you just
- 20:17swap them around. But the advantage, I'd say is everyone gets to enjoy it and the cost is like
- 20:22really low. What's the dream car? It's does it change a lot. Or the dream car changes every three
- 20:29days? Okay. Yeah. What's on the way right now? Pagani. Utopia.
- 20:36Bugatti. Utopia. Pagani. Utopia. Sounds like a movie title. Yeah. It's a dream. Yeah. I don't know if I
- 20:42have a dream car. You know, I'm from Michigan. We. We drive scat packs, long sleeves, challengers,
- 20:48Chargers, Escalades. Um, you might see, like, a young kid in a
- 20:55in in his grandma's minivan. Like booking it, like, 95 down the freeway. Tractors. I don't even know
- 21:01what that means. Tractors. Oh, a tractor, and sometimes you see a horse and buggy, though. The
- 21:04Amish. I get down with a horse. I wanna get a horse one day. Those are expensive. I mean, the fit you
- 21:08got on. Looks like you. You go play. What's the thing? Where they be? On the horse. Like in the. In
- 21:12the balls. Polo. Yeah, if that's what it is. What did you do before? Content to afford daily
- 21:19spendings. Uh, I've worked many, many, many day jobs, some pyramid schemes here and there.
- 21:26Why did you tell me you were in a pyramid scheme course? You all ever heard about cut code knives?
- 21:31Anybody in New York probably heard about cut co knives. You probably got a homie that tried to
- 21:34sell you some knives. It was a great pyramid scheme. Think about pyramid schemes are it's like
- 21:39I was like 15. But you can scheme them. That's the thing I learned once I learned how to scheme. And
- 21:44scheme the scheme. Bro. Because you would get paid $16 an hour. You can out cheek the cheeks. Yes. You
- 21:49could pay $16 an hour to basically try to sell knives like you like. You talk to someone like a
- 21:55family member usually and try to sell them cutlery. So I was just like, bro, what if I just
- 21:59stack like ten family members and then log it as like ten different hours? So I was getting paid
- 22:04160 to do one hour of work, and I saw them each like one fork, I'm up bread. And they found out and
- 22:10they fired the kid. But that was a good little. It's a good little vibe. Door to door sells for
- 22:14knives. Yeah. I don't think I've ever been in my head like I need to buy a knife. And I don't think
- 22:19I've ever wanted someone to pull up to my door and sell me a knife. I could sell you a knife. I'm
- 22:24selling me this pen. What did I do before? Um, got a couple
- 22:30I used to in high school. On the weekends. I used to work for this florist woman. And
- 22:37so I'd pull up to, like, weddings at, like, on Saturdays at, like, two in the morning and just
- 22:42throw away all the flowers and clean up the wedding. And then she'd give me a crisp, a crisp
- 22:48blue strip, and I'd give you my gas money. Um, I used to coach little kids in basketball. They used
- 22:54to be having me coach, like soccer and football and baseball. I didn't know nothing about it. But
- 22:58as long as the parents are happy. And then, um. I worked at Carrabba's. Worked at Carrabba's. I was a
- 23:04server. Imagine me serving you pasta at Carrabba's on a Wednesday night. But like I used to also make
- 23:10the bread. And if you ever worked in a restaurant, they probably have the bread slicer. So you take
- 23:14the loaf. Put it in the bread slicer and it comes out in like six pieces. What I do because I used
- 23:20to be. Like, can I just have some? One time, one day I walked in the house and I saw you eat an entire
- 23:25loaf of bread. No, Bev, no nothing. I just had to put that out there. That he's different. He's different.
- 23:30Okay, wait, let's let's take a step back for a moment. Living out here. Oh my goodness. I miss
- 23:36being at my mama crib because my mama would make me like, 4 pounds of spaghetti and I would just
- 23:40eat that. And I'm realizing it's like, genuinely like a financial issue for me, because I'll buy
- 23:47the food and I'll eat all the food and I'll be like, I'm still hungry. Like the other night I ate
- 23:5314 rice cakes because I'm trying to save money. I'm like, dude, I'm still hungry. And then in that
- 23:58last night, I lay him over rice. He did. He. And I was gonna eat your burger too. But you ain't like
- 24:03me. Day old lamb over rice. If it gets the job done, it gets the job done. But yeah, back to Carrabba's.
- 24:07So you take the bread, put it in the bread slicer comes out six pieces. What I used to do, I said
- 24:12take out the middle piece, eat it, and then put it back together. So it just looks like nothing ever
- 24:17happened. Never got caught. And shout out to the kitchen staff because they used to give me right.
- 24:21It was a whole bunch of Spanish mothers. Um, and I would just tell them, like I would tell them in
- 24:27Spanish, like gran, like large, large portions, gran, gran gran. And they I'd be walking out of there
- 24:32with, like, seafood pasta. Tres leches cakes and tiramisu every night. It was a phenomenal
- 24:38experience. Shout out that boy Jose he used to give me right to with the salads. Churros. But yeah,
- 24:44I was doing that. And then, um. Oh yeah, that Covid chick that was helping me out for a while. I was
- 24:50on bullshit doing Covid. And then when I was playing at in college, you used to get like, um, a
- 24:57refund every semester. So that'd be like 8000 of my bank account. But if you're playing sports in
- 25:02college, you know you're broke because you don't have time to work a job. So once I got to
- 25:07Vanderbilt, I was like, all right, I'm either going to pop off of the internet or we're back to
- 25:12Carrabba's. And somehow I got blessed with this, and I'm very thankful. And now we're here chopping
- 25:18it up with studious smiles. Yes, sir. Someone asked me, what's one thing y'all can't live without?
- 25:23What's the one thing I can't live without? Air fryer. Do we want the sentimental answer or the
- 25:28stupid answer? Rice cakes. One thing I can't live without. Pizza. Grubhub. I would
- 25:35say the puff go. You know, but I think I don't know. Just.
- 25:43I feel like talking to my mama. Talking to my homies back home. Ha! I know. But, you
- 25:50know, like, I'm out here in a new space. And these people have known me my whole life, so it's just
- 25:55like, got to get back to my roots and connect with who? Who seen me grow up. I guess I'm gonna say a
- 26:00car. I like driving sometimes to, like, clear out my head. You know what, dude? Respectfully. But
- 26:07sometimes I just want to go on to drive and just, you know, I'm saying I don't want to hear Troy's
- 26:10music and whatever. I just want to go out and, you know, vibe a little, catch a little vibe. How is it
- 26:14living with me? I feel like it's literally exactly what I thought it would be. It's not bad. He's
- 26:20clean. He's chill. Didn't do too much sometimes, you know, it's a little over. You get over steaming,
- 26:25though. I just pull up. No one knows where he's at. I'll just come in the crib, like, 2 a.m.. Tell him
- 26:30about last night. From sleep on the couch last night. Netflix on, like, volume two. Cozy. He
- 26:37walked in, I got the weed, the bitches, the bottle I got the weed, the bitches, the bottles. With a
- 26:41bottle of, I don't know, white wine. Some czar starts turning on, uh, what?
- 26:48Some. I don't even know what music. I was still trying to wake up and. Yeah, now we're up till 5
- 26:53a.m. just bullshitting. And that's just Tuesday. I mean, it, screw it. There it
- 26:59is. How is it living with Myles? Um. I mean, this is the first time I've lived in an apartment.
- 27:06I've been in the dorm the last three years. Um, I guess the first thing was when Milo said the the
- 27:13the light blue BMW, he had the stars in the roof. He had the stars. I've never been in a car with
- 27:20the stars in the roof. And it just it changed the whole aura. Because when someone FaceTimed you and
- 27:24you answer the FaceTime and the stars in the roof. What? I'm saying, I did it. For a good, great laugh.
- 27:28Phenomenal laugh. But, um, it's been chill. I've never actually lived with someone who also makes
- 27:34content, so sometimes it does feel like we're both just like unemployed as shit in here. But it did
- 27:40get into it though. Yeah, no, we be locked in it. Just like it still blows my mind that I'm able to,
- 27:45like, make a living off making videos, but it is nice to be able to, like, bounce ideas off each
- 27:51other. Yeah. Bad spot first. Bad spot first. What, are you gonna like him,
- 27:57bro? I feel like we'd answer. Your girlfriend broke up with me. Give me some advice. All right, you go
- 28:03first. I'm over here struggling with this. Um, cliche, bro. Just get in that gym.
- 28:10Get busy. Go test drive a car or some. Um, yeah. Stay busy. You got any advice for
- 28:16that? Um. Well. Well. David de well, we're going through the same thing over here.
- 28:23You know, I'm single as a Pringle right now. You know, nothing really bad happened. I hope the best
- 28:29for the the other person I was in a relationship with. Um, you know, you're going to go through the
- 28:35the seven cycles of grief about 80 million times. You're going to crash out, don't do things out of
- 28:41spite. Don't do things out of jealousy. Don't try to make the other person's life worse, to try to
- 28:46make yours feel better. Um, I think one of the biggest things that helped me kind of realize
- 28:51that it's going to be all right one time heals all. You're going to go through BS days. If you
- 28:58weren't sad or upset about a breakup, then that's not like that's not the right approach. You're
- 29:04gonna feel sad. You're gonna feel upset. You're gonna be depressed. Like, you just gotta work
- 29:09through these things. And you also got to look at it as you see a lot of older people all around
- 29:14the world, all these older people around you, they all went through the exact same thing, and they're
- 29:19still here and they're still living life healthy, making money, you know, having a wife, a new family.
- 29:26So just think about the fact that he went through it. She went through it. So why can't. You?
- 29:34But yeah, no, it sucks. And, uh, does it get better? Yeah. But is it like,
- 29:41damn, you just gotta hit yourself with the steel goods, like ten sets of steel goods and you'll be
- 29:45all right. So no hinge or nothing, you know? No, no. No. Rebounds, no hinge, no flying
- 29:52chicks out. I said just get on hands or something. No, don't listen to this guy. Don't listen to this
- 29:57guy over here. Always talk to someone. No need to talk shit about the other person. Just
- 30:04let it be. Just let things be. Let it go. Focus on yourself. The healing will come
- 30:11over time. You can't rush the process because you can't control the process. Yeah, I just fit right
- 30:16there. Don't, uh. Yeah. Don't stress over what you can't control. Yeah, yeah, yeah. What's, um.
- 30:23Oh, that's a good one for me. What's your death row meal looking like? Ooh. So you go first before I
- 30:29really get into my. Uh, my grandma, my mac and cheese.
- 30:36That's it. My death row meal. All right. My mom's sugar fajitas. My mom's barbecue chicken. My mom's
- 30:42spaghetti with the Hawaiian rolls with the Arizona green tea and the chocolate cake. Um,
- 30:48cheesy beef burrito from Taco Bell. Let's just go to Taco Bell. Steak. Quesadilla. Crunch. Wrap. Supreme.
- 30:54Uh, cinnamon delights. Nacho fries. We move over to McDonald's. Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. How
- 31:00do we go from mom's? It's one you can't order all that death row meal. They're not going at 12
- 31:04different paces. Yes they are. It's my last meal. They doing. It? Yes. They'll do anything as long as
- 31:10you don't say nothing. Crazy. All right. McDonald's screw Hussein. Um. We go. Six piece
- 31:16nuggets. Sweet sour barbecue ranch. We go make chicken spicy if it's option. Add mac sauce. Add
- 31:23cheese. Move over to Burger King. Hershey pies. Move over to Wendy's. Spicy nuggets. What are we missing
- 31:29here? Chocolate chip cookies. Sushi. Oh, pizza. I was getting there. Bonito is
- 31:36pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms on it. With the side of ranch and hot honey drizzle. Um.
- 31:43It's enough. That's enough. I think that's enough. You sure? I think so, you guys. That was good. Yeah.
- 31:50Um, someone asked me, is it better to buy designer clothes secondhand or in installments? Let's ask
- 31:54this guy because, um, I don't really, like, buy clothes. Like, really? I'm not gonna lie. I had
- 32:01my Po box at my school and my bio, and I was getting blessed. It felt like Christmas every day.
- 32:07I was just getting clothes, so, like, you know, PR, PR, PR and these are just my
- 32:14shower slides. Yeah, but, like, you've been out here your whole life, huh? What would you say? I feel
- 32:19like growing up in New York, um, you got to get fly sometimes and get that designer on and feel like
- 32:26the way he he he said the question. I feel like he's kind of saying what's like a better, cheaper
- 32:30way to get into designer, either secondhand or in installments. I've never done an install. I make a
- 32:35lot of jokes about cleaning a fit or or doing installments on some Lindsay jeans. Um, I don't
- 32:40think it's worth it, to be honest. I will say. Though, my Klarna paid the drip. Yeah. You saying
- 32:45either either. Oh, don't ever do that. Oh my. Goodness. Okay, though, um. Could it be paying for
- 32:50kiss heels for five years. No no no no no second hand. Don't buy it for retail secondhand, you know.
- 32:57I mean, yeah, I feel like for retail. Um, depending on the piece, sometimes you can get by, sometimes
- 33:03it goes up in value. But, uh, there's not many designer brands that I genuinely think are worth
- 33:09it. And I feel like it really depends on the piece. But sometimes, like, especially if you want like a,
- 33:14really like a nice silhouette, the only like one brand makes, then I recommend getting a second
- 33:19hand that that Klarna thing. You'll be out on a date in that last 200 Camacho account. You buy
- 33:25work, bro. Just get a second hand, go to go to second Street, bring all the clothes you don't buy,
- 33:30get a little credit and then just dip out. Yeah. Don't don't ever clarinet don't ever do
- 33:37that. If you had to build your brand back up from scratch, what would you focus on first. Like
- 33:42personal brand? I think I feel like he's talking about clothing brands. I'd say for me,
- 33:49um, the biggest thing I'm having an issue with is just like production times. Like getting samples
- 33:54made. Um, like, I've, I've created a product, like, months ago, and I still don't even have the
- 34:01sample. I would definitely build up an inventory. And I feel like people think you have to have a
- 34:07lot of money to build your brand. Um, I definitely say, like, if you got five K,
- 34:15I feel like you're pretty solid off that because once you have that five K and if you break even
- 34:20or sell all your stock, you're going to come back with more money and you kind of just rinse and
- 34:24repeat. Um, you just really got to think about like, like you can't just start making clothes and post
- 34:31them. Like, what's your brand identity? What's your logo? What's the meaning behind it? Like, is your
- 34:36website easily accessible? Like I go to a lot of these like small brand websites and they have all
- 34:41like this extra like scroll and make it look super cool. You know how I test if it works or not?
- 34:47I give the phone to my mom and say, hey, go shop on this website and if she can't figure it out.
- 34:52That's not the right approach. Super easy. Super accessible. Rinse and repeat your money and make
- 34:57sure you have a brand identity. Now how is your silver overriding going? Yeah, I've, um,
- 35:04kind of ran into one of the problems. You said. I dropped certain pieces at different times, but
- 35:09sometimes, like, I kind of overthink things and I started to feel like merch a little bit, so I like
- 35:14Step back. I'm like restarting. I want to tell, like, an actual story behind the clothes. I don't really
- 35:18want to sell it as clothes. I want to sell it as like different experiences, and I want to tie it
- 35:22into like an overarching story rather than just, oh, here, these pants buy them because they mine
- 35:27type shit. So I like step back and like starting from scratch because, I don't know, I'd be
- 35:32overthinking it a lot. And I'd also say like, you have to work a season ahead. So if it's winter
- 35:38right now, we should be working on the spring and summer stuff. If it's spring and summer, you should
- 35:43be working on the winter stuff. That's kind of something I'm struggling with because, for example,
- 35:48when I drop my backpacks. I wanted to drop more colorways in August, which is back to school
- 35:54season because that's when people are buying backpacks, but I can't get them produced in time,
- 35:59so I'm missing that opportunity where I can make a lot of profit and put that back into my
- 36:04business just because I wasn't prepared months in advance. So there's a lot of long term goals of
- 36:11planning now to see the return later, and you're almost betting on yourself like you go through
- 36:15this whole super long process. And the only way you're going to make money is if people like it.
- 36:19It's like the opposite of making content. I do a brand deal. I get paid for one video. I don't have
- 36:25a lot of money put in up front clothing brand, putting in a lot of money on upfront and hoping
- 36:30for a return. But it's a lot more rewarding when it actually pays off because you're like, damn,
- 36:36this really came from my mind and people are wearing it out on the street, which is crazy to me.
- 36:41Why did you start getting into fashion and creation? What what made you want to get swag out?
- 36:48You was trying to get some ladies in middle school. Pretty much. Pretty much. Yeah. You can't be.
- 36:52Yeah. Um, it's trying to be drippy for the. You know, you just want to be fly. Sometimes you want to be
- 36:58fly. Oh, I feel like mine was basketball. Like I grew up with that Nike League baggy shorts era. Um,
- 37:04my coach always says you got to have source and substance. You can't. Too much sauce, not enough
- 37:09substance. Can't have too much substance on the sauce. So you look good. Play good. I was going Nike
- 37:14Elite socks. I feel like I got funneled into, like, the Hypebeast sneaker kind of sneaker head kind
- 37:20of dude. And then once I got sick of retros and jays, I was like, ooh, I kind of want some boots. And
- 37:25then. And then once you once you fall into that, you're into a D. Like most fashion people start
- 37:29off with just sneakers. Yeah. For sure. What else? How did you evolve your style?
- 37:37I feel like that's a good question. Um, I feel like when I started, I was very, like, trend hoppy, and
- 37:43then eventually you kind of figure out what you feel most confident in and it changes over time,
- 37:47but certain pieces stay. But I feel like you don't really. It's kind of not something you think about.
- 37:53It just kind of just happens. You just kind of find yourself gravitating towards certain pieces
- 37:56that you like wearing more than others. Like if you're about to go on like a date, whatever you
- 37:59grab first is like usually what your style is like, what you feel most confident in. So you can't
- 38:04really, like, teach it, just kind of what you feel natural. And. Um, my boy follower said something one
- 38:10time that stuck with me. He said, you got to find yourself within the clothes. So when you're
- 38:14shopping, you're not shopping for the clothes, you're shopping for you. So, for example, I grew up
- 38:20watching zombie movies. I love playing Call of Duty zombies, like I got a Walking Dead zombie
- 38:24shirt that is tied to an experience I had when I was younger. And also like a huge thing. I'd say
- 38:30traveling opens your eyes very wide. Yeah, definitely. What you like and what you don't like.
- 38:36Um, but really, looking back on your experiences in your life and what you find joy in and what made
- 38:43you, in finding that within the clothes? Does that make sense? What do you think has the best drape.
- 38:49Which I think has the best drip, like in the world? Mm. I mean, I don't feel like I've traveled enough
- 38:55to, to tell because, like, I heard, like, people in Japan, like, dress crazy. They put it on in Tokyo
- 39:01especially. They put it on. I still got New York on number one. Little bias, but Tokyo, they'll be
- 39:06getting flea. I think the one. Thing. I've noticed. The one thing I've noticed about moving to New
- 39:12York, it's literally every type of person here. Like, you're gonna walk, it's a GTA server. You're
- 39:18gonna walk out the door and be like, what the hell did I just see right there? I like I'm seeing
- 39:22something funky every day, but I definitely feel like being here. It makes you feel like. All right,
- 39:28fuck it. I'm gonna wear it because who else cares? This dude's walking down the street with the
- 39:32fishnet tank top on and the tail. And I was living in South Carolina, and then, like, I was wearing my
- 39:37New York fits, and I looked like people looking at me crazy. But then I came back to New York, and I
- 39:41was just like, I'm back at home. Like, it's just like a regular fit. And I feel like depending on
- 39:45where you are, you kind of sometimes gotta like, adjust how you dress. That's why I like New York
- 39:50and Tokyo so much, because you can literally wear anything if you think it's good, like it's good.
- 39:55And I also feel like that ties into like if you're like a lot of people overthink about what
- 40:00they're wearing because they care about other people's opinions. And it can be tough coming from
- 40:05a less popular place like in Michigan, I'd be wearing a whole bunch of funky stuff. I'm probably
- 40:10getting weird looks at when I was in class at Vanderbilt, I would. Y'all, y'all know how I dress.
- 40:16That's exactly what I was wearing in calculus two at 1130 in the morning. You just gotta stop giving
- 40:22a shit and the best way possible. You can't give a shit because no one's gonna remember what you're
- 40:28wearing tomorrow or yesterday or the day before. Last week, I probably walked past 100 people. Today,
- 40:33I don't know, I don't remember what they were wearing. So just dress for yourself, dude. Dress for
- 40:37yourself. What piece holds the most meaning to you. When you like clothing. What clothing piece holds
- 40:42the most meaning to you? Probably my galaxy foams because, like, growing up like, that was like the
- 40:48shoe. And then I ended up getting it for free. Like through a brand deal. And, like, they don't even,
- 40:54like, fit, right? But I can never get rid of them because that's just like. That's just like my
- 40:58entire childhood embodied in, like, one product, low key. And it just happened from me posting silly
- 41:04videos on the internet. I feel like it's kind of the same thing for me. All my Nike Elite like
- 41:08Christmas birthday when I was younger. Yo moms, please buy me Nike Elite socks please. It was
- 41:15tagged with a 15. It's like $18 each, bro. Like, please buy the Nike Elite socks. Mom and I still
- 41:21have them all. And I can, like. You, ever run the Walmart reps? They didn't have the swoosh, but they
- 41:26had the on the back. No, I don't do that. Back then if you were rocking fake stuff, you were getting
- 41:32absolutely flanked. I didn't even know where to get fake kicks back in that day. I didn't even
- 41:37know that was feasible to go by him. Go, go easy. Com yeah. I didn't like if you weren't fake Jase,
- 41:44your life was over with. But back then it was able you were able to tell like Jordan was doing a
- 41:48little. Yeah. Jordan. Jordan had a butt crack, bro. Now the only way to know is like, no, he got a butt
- 41:53crack. No. No. But it was like he had a BBL butt crack. A little bit. But now the only way to know
- 41:57is by like smell. You see the grill on TikTok. He'll be inspecting it. Yeah. He's owned by the
- 42:02sneaker company. Yeah. Like back then you could just look at them and like, Jordan's doing a split.
- 42:06They spelled Nike wrong. Now it's tough. Like people be people be getting away with them fakes.
- 42:11I know some of y'all favorite content creators weren't fakes. Some of them in this room. Wait, what?
- 42:17I'm playing. What's the next question? What's your craziest story from a photoshoot or runway? Yeah,
- 42:22I've never been on a runway, so I guess you. Can you get a team cap? Um, I'm trying to think what
- 42:29happened at that runway. Well, the craziest thing to me when I was in Paris and I had to go
- 42:36before the Vermont show. I had to go to the fitting and I was like, I ain't got enough motion
- 42:42to be in here, bro. Cause I'm getting fitted right next to gunna. A gun is on my right and Lancey
- 42:49on my left. I'm like, dude, I just be getting fried. I lie to eating food and I'm next to gunna, which
- 42:55is absolutely insane. Um. The runway. They can be very
- 43:02blunt on how you look, so don't get your feelings hurt. And I don't know. I guess
- 43:09the craziest thing for me in the experience was like looking at the videos after, because when I
- 43:16was walking, I was kind of just like, all right, mug locking, don't look around. Because I remember I
- 43:22could see some of my homies and they were trying to make me like, smile or something, but I was like,
- 43:26I hit the ultimate locking, like, literally. But like when I go back and look at the videos and
- 43:31like, all the cameras were pointing at me like all these super famous people are just like sitting
- 43:37there watching me. And this fit strolling down in 108 degrees in a trench coat. It's like, Holy shit,
- 43:42dude. Like the eyes that were on me. I felt like I was on the voice or something. They had the
- 43:46spotlight on me. I got a story on the runway. Remember, I did a shoot in college, and like, you
- 43:52ever, like, do a shoot, but, like, they don't have that many pieces, so you gotta, like, share. Yeah. It
- 43:56was, like, outside, and it was dumb hot. And I like fake. I think I faked dodged the deodorant that
- 44:00day. So I had a, I had to put on the t shirt, and it was like a girl in the shoot that I was like. Like
- 44:05she was pain. And then they were like, yo, we need y'all to switch. And I was like, bro. And my shirt
- 44:10was dumb, wet, funky as hell. It was like one of those nine. Yeah, she did it for your shirt. Yeah. It
- 44:15was like one of them, you know, the, like the. What's that, like, the dry fit type of shit. So it holds in
- 44:18the funk like extra. So I was like, oh, I bet I'm gonna go change. I went in the back, I just hit the
- 44:23shirt and I'm like, I can't find it. And I ended the shoot there. I swear to God, I never gave the
- 44:27shirt. I was like, bro, I'm not risking like, everything that I worked. This is like junior at
- 44:31college, I was trying to work up and kind of build a name for myself. I wasn't about to just go down
- 44:35over. Over some funkiness. Um, I will say, if you're doing photo shoots. Have extra shirts,
- 44:42especially if they're dry fit. You don't want people sharing the dry free shirts, bro, in your
- 44:46cap. If you're doing photo shoots like make sure to voice yourself like, don't put yourself in an
- 44:52uncomfortable position, because when I was trying to be a model, I did a shoot with this one dude.
- 44:57And like, he wanted to like he wanted to shoot it like Calvin Klein, like in my underwear. And he's
- 45:02like, you just pull him down a little more. It'd be some weird photographer. Just a little more like,
- 45:07dude. Like, no, please, no, no, no. You ever seen that? You know, when the
- 45:14NBA players used to be doing the naked photo shoot, the other one is. Wait. No, it wasn't Chris
- 45:19Paul. How much you have to get paid to do that. Shit, bro. Oil change.
- 45:27All right, next question. Um, what do you think of choice? PB and J's. You never made me one.
- 45:34Because you're never at the crib when I'm. If most of the time when I'm like, actually cooking up,
- 45:38like, the rancid stuff he's done in the crib because he just can't witness what's going on in
- 45:42there. Oh, here's a good question for you to answer. Since you've lived in New York your whole life
- 45:46and been to a lot of apartments. How do we find our place, and what approach would you take to
- 45:51kind of finding a spot in a big city like this? Hmm. Well, first of all, you got to decide what like,
- 45:57is most important for you. So for us, it was like space. Full court, basketball court. And a
- 46:02basketball court. So it kind of slimmed it down a lot. But I mean, I've lived in like five apartments
- 46:08all over from, like, East Village to, like Brooklyn and whatnot, and they all just felt so different.
- 46:12But whatever, like time you are in your life, whatever is like most important for you, you just
- 46:16want to put that on the top of your list. I mean, I toured like six apartments, but this one had the
- 46:20best court, and that was kind of that was kind of it. And the space to like, our rooms aren't as nice
- 46:26as, like some of the other apartments like tour. Like we don't have, like a crazy view of, like the
- 46:30city or anything. But we got a we got a basketball court and a bowling alley and a sauna and a movie
- 46:36theater and two pools. And I got a follow up question. This is Troy. Why did you move from
- 46:42Nashville? I moved from Nashville to move here, but I guess I didn't really share online like what
- 46:49that process was looking like. I feel like I kind of just posted that I moved. Um, some of y'all
- 46:55think I graduated. I didn't actually graduate yet. I didn't drop out. So I don't say I'm a I'm a
- 47:01corporate dropout. I won't say I'm a school dropout yet. Um, I deferred so me and Miles
- 47:07wanted to live in New York for a second, like, and shoot this podcast and everything. So what I did, I
- 47:14only have one semester of school to finish, which is like 14 credits. So I just deferred this year,
- 47:20kind of took a step back so I could focus on this and then most likely next year or whenever I get
- 47:26around to it, and I'm gonna get around to it. I'm not going to be that dude that like, I'm all the
- 47:31way at the rim and I didn't lay the ball up. You know what I mean? No, I'm going back, I got you. You
- 47:35know how much money I spent on school already? I'm going back. I've spent damn near probably, like, six
- 47:41figures on school. I gotta finish it. But I'll be back in Nashville, probably, like, in a year and a
- 47:47half to finish up that last semester at Vanderbilt. Um, don't drop out of school. I know
- 47:53everyone's trying to tell you school is not worth it, but at 100% is. And it's not always about the
- 47:58education. It's about who you're meeting and the connections you'll get. Because I'm cool with
- 48:03Miles, I'm cool with artists. I'm cool with people in the fashion space. But I go back to Vanderbilt.
- 48:07I'm cool with lawyers, doctors, accountants, all those people that are gonna help me out when I'm
- 48:1235 and I'm looking to save some money. Go back to the you know, that was good. Back to the apartment
- 48:18thing, though. I just had to get it off. Yeah. Get out. You get off your chest. If y'all are looking
- 48:22for apartments, I'll be running street easy, but low key Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace got
- 48:28some low low. If you're trying to, like, move to New York quick, you can either like pick up someone
- 48:32else's lease, like they're trying to get out of it. Um, which is normally like easy because they don't
- 48:37like, there's like, no credit check. You just kind of pay someone who's paying the lease. And, uh,
- 48:41don't be afraid to, like, get a roommate. Um, especially if you're like, you want to move to,
- 48:47like, a part of the city that's a little bit more expensive, because in the beginning, like,
- 48:52especially like if you just want to get into New York quick, like, that's, you're going to save a lot
- 48:55of money because you don't want to like month four, month five, one, six, just start to get paid.
- 49:00Yeah. If you want to live in Manhattan and have a dorm sized apartment by yourself, it's going to
- 49:05cost at least four bands a month easily. Yeah, I was living in East Village. I had a little. It was
- 49:10a studio with an airport bathroom, and I was paying like three, eight, and it was like the size
- 49:17of this room. Yeah, well, now we're living together. Who's the better roommate? Me.
- 49:25How? I got the weed, the bottles. We'll let y'all just let them. Who y'all think.
- 49:32I'm the housemaid? Though I'm really clean. Hey. Be cleaning. I like the dabbing and get the cleaning,
- 49:36but. Like I'm not. I'm gonna tell you when I. When I hit the dev. Like, it just makes me start locking
- 49:42in like crazy. I'll just start cleaning everything. But some people have opposite effects like him. He
- 49:47just starts chatting. Well that's normal. Like who? Who who smokes weed and then says, yeah, let me
- 49:51clean the whole house in vacuum at 2 a.m.. Not regular. Actually, no, we're not, in fact. Wait, how do
- 49:57we meet? So the first time I came to New York was September Fashion Week 2024. Um,
- 50:04I've been building my social media over that year. I think I was around like 75 to 100 K. Um,
- 50:11I had a whole bunch of mutuals that lived in New York, and I basically just texted them all. I was
- 50:15like, yo, I'm coming to New York for the first time. Here's my number. It just hit my line because I
- 50:21don't know what I'm going to do. We were already mutuals. Yeah. Okay. So I don't know. I don't know. I
- 50:28didn't know where the story was going. Okay. So I hit them all up. Um, so, like, the first time I
- 50:35linked Miles, I actually met you garments and CJ all that
- 50:42day. And then, um, I wasn't 21 yet, and there was, like, this event, and, uh, I used my cousin's
- 50:48ID that said, I was 28 years old, and, uh, we went up to this event and it looked like a, like a, like
- 50:55a GTA party in there with all those, like, burlesque dancers and stuff. I don't think you'll
- 50:59probably not remember it because, you see. I don't know who's in the back room ever been. I don't
- 51:04know about that. I don't know anything about it. I was like, dude, why am I here? But yeah, then, uh, me
- 51:09and Milo smoked a J. And he's like, do you got an agent? I'm like, what do you mean an agent? Like.
- 51:14Like he's like a manager. I'm like, why do I need someone to tell me how to post videos online. I
- 51:19just kind of post the videos. He's like, bro, you gonna be making mad bread right now? I was like, oh,
- 51:23for real? So then, yeah, he put me on to his manager and then, um, I got signed over there, and
- 51:29then we were just going back and forth a little bit, linked them here and there. That's my.
- 51:34Perspective. The next thing I know, we're living together. Yeah. Tell your perspective. So it was a
- 51:39clear night. No. Thank you. Actually, there was a light in the sky. We were on the
- 51:45balcony overlooking the city, and, um, now we just chopped it up, and I was like, yeah, get an agent.
- 51:51And then we went to, like, another bar. We started throwing back some brews. I don't even remember.
- 51:56Yeah, well, yeah. No, we just chilled. Just homies kicking it. And, um. Fast forward, we're here.
- 52:02Yeah. Not much. You know how dudes be, though. Just like y'all meet a couple times, and now y'all cool.
- 52:08It's not like girls. Girls go through a lot of back and forth, but, like, if you're cool, you're
- 52:12cool. Um, how do you guys come up with new ideas? I'd say the hardest part about content
- 52:19creation and like especially being consistent every day, is coming up with ideas every day.
- 52:26Um, I'd say this job, it's one of the most
- 52:34it's one of the most intertwined with your life. So like a corporate job, you go from 9 to 5, and
- 52:41then the rest of your night, you're chilling, hanging out with your friends. Like, separate from
- 52:46your work. This is all intertwined. So anytime through my life where I say, hey, I'd like to share
- 52:52this with people or I think this would be good, I just record it. So that's why I feel like I'm very
- 52:59authentic. Like I'm very authentic to y'all. Because if I wasn't recording what I was doing,
- 53:04I'd still be doing it. I'd still be going to the gym hooping. I'd still be making, uh, a gluttonous
- 53:09PB and J at 3 a.m. what I did, I just put the camera up and press posts on Instagram and
- 53:15somehow it's working out. Yeah, I've been doing it for a little longer than you, so I feel like over
- 53:20time you sometimes don't want to share some things, but then like your content starts to lack.
- 53:25So I feel like that's another thing that people don't really talk about. Sometimes you don't want
- 53:28to, like, share what you're doing. Sometimes you just kind of want to just chill and like separate
- 53:33it. But like when your content does the best, it's when it's like your life and your content is one.
- 53:38It's not like I don't want to share that. Like I got a flat tire and then like, Shorty broke up
- 53:43with me the next day and you're like, bro, that's your life. Like, you got to kind of share it. Yeah,
- 53:47and I. Feel like that'd be the content that does the best, because then people actually feel like
- 53:50they can really, like, get to know you and connect. But sometimes you take it out, you don't want to
- 53:54share it. And it's kind of like. Like if we planned a trip to, I don't know, Miami for the weekend. Like
- 54:00in my head, I'm like, all right, I got to record this, that and this. Like, what I tell people about
- 54:05content is you gotta treat it like a girlfriend. You're going to call your girlfriend, you're going
- 54:11to text your girlfriend every day. I'm gonna open that Instagram and post that video every day. It
- 54:16don't matter what kind of day I'm having, I'm checking in. Okay, so that's what I tell people
- 54:22because it's not like, oh, I can post Monday through Friday in the weekend. I'm taking off. No,
- 54:27man. Like, the internet's the fastest moving place in the damn world. If you're not staying on track.
- 54:32On the weekends, that's when people be on the internet the most to like when you least want to
- 54:36do it. It's usually when people like when you want to chat, everyone else wants to chat and be like,
- 54:41Sunday, we'd be in the crib just lazy and we're like, that's the best time to low key post. If you
- 54:46weren't doing content right now, what would you be doing? Where would you imagine yourself? I'd be in
- 54:52Washington DC doing a working for my Chinese Business Council. I did a little internship out
- 54:58there back in the day, and then I came home for the summer. I started posting TikToks in and blew
- 55:03up, but I still I still keep in contact with them. And yeah, I've been thinking about that. Like
- 55:07alternate universe miles. I'd probably be wearing this. To me without the hat. How are. You? Hey, how
- 55:14are you doing today? How are you? Um. What would I be doing? I'd probably. I'd either
- 55:21be finance bro, or I'd be playing overseas. Basketball. One of the two. I don't know if I can
- 55:27see myself trusting you with my finances. Why? I'm trying to imagine me like sitting down in front
- 55:33of you. But imagine. No. Like, so slick bag. Taco Bell bag. No no, no. Taco Bell
- 55:40bag. Working bag. Bust down on the wrist. Good. Cufflinks. Wendy's bag.
- 55:46Oh, man. How long did it take you to blow up on social media? What's like blow
- 55:53up, though? Like 100 K? Like what I'd say. How long did it take you to get to the point where it's
- 55:58like, okay, I can make some real bread off this. Like, one day? Well, like, just because it's weird,
- 56:03cause, like, no, cause I was making videos for, like, six, Ain't no probably like over
- 56:10a year, like a year and a half. But like, I could have been making money. I just didn't know about
- 56:14the whole agency thing. And then one day I got an agent. Next day I was making money, so I don't
- 56:18really know where and that I could have started, but I was making videos since I was a kid. Okay,
- 56:23but like, when are you, like taking it for real? I kind of started like 20, 22. I started like, no, no,
- 56:29no. Yeah. Not like 2021. I started like locking in. By 2022, I was making some chicken.
- 56:362020, 2021 I was farming. 2022 I was making chicken 2023. I was serving, you know, I was putting the
- 56:42fries in the bag, so I shit. I was always making videos, um, my first year in college, like I said, it
- 56:49was either I work a job or this, this TikTok gonna pay for my tuition. So I was literally I'd go to
- 56:54class, come back, make like 2 or 3 yapping videos, talking about absolutely a whole bunch of nothing.
- 56:59And that was paying me like 6 to 8000 a month. And I was using that to pay my tuition and cover my
- 57:05daily expenses. That's when back when the TikTok monetization program was booming, like people were
- 57:11making hundreds of thousands of dollars a month off it. Um, it's mainly a rack of video for like a
- 57:16month. Yeah, like one video I posted, I made like $4,000 off the one video. And, um, so I was doing
- 57:23that. And then the summer came around and sophomore summer in college, that's like when you
- 57:27get your first internship. And it was like, all right, I'm either going internship or I'm gonna
- 57:33lock in on this and see what happens. And I decide to lock in on the content and see what happened.
- 57:37And I, um, kind of just start blowing up off that because I had a whole plan to it. And then, like I
- 57:44said, once I went to New York and met Myles, then got the agent and then they started bringing me
- 57:49brand deals, I was like, wow, there's a whole nother level to the bread you can make on this. So I feel
- 57:54like that was kind of my moment. Um, with the main video that blew me up was when I first got to
- 58:00college. I've never had access to that much food before. It was like one meal swipe all you can eat.
- 58:05I was like, oh shit, hell yeah. So I made a video, like, would I eat in a day? And I was like, I
- 58:12was just like, ripping the pan and just like, going to the dining hall, like five times a day and just
- 58:15going absolutely nuts. And then someone posted it on Twitter and it got like 50 million views on
- 58:21Twitter. Jesus. And then I just started running with the food stuff after that, because before
- 58:26that I was posting like fashion and basketball only. So then I started doing fashion, basketball
- 58:30and food and just my life. What's a niche thing that people don't really know about you? Um, in
- 58:36college, first I was a Chinese major, then I was a physics major. Why do you want to be a Chinese
- 58:42major? I was just nice in Chinese. That's a Chinese. In high school, I loved China. I went to China. Okay.
- 58:46Can you can you give us a couple of bars? No, I ain't doing that right now. No, Ma, that's how you
- 58:50get. But no, I kind of. Did. It, right. Yes, yes. Thank you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then, um. Yeah, that's when I
- 58:56went to go work for this, for that, for that cult. That was. Nice. Cold. No no, no, I went to I went to
- 59:02go work in DC for the US Taiwan thing and I really enjoyed it. But then, you know, tick tock is
- 59:08just a different bag, bro. It's a different bag over there. What you got that's niche though. Oh
- 59:13what do I got? I'd say even before I like, wanted to do the content. I always wanted to be able to
- 59:20make my own clothes. Um, I just never knew how to get in the process of, like, manufacturing
- 59:24something or kind of making mockups or any of that. So I was just like, screw it. I'm gonna go to
- 59:30the thrift store and just start painting on the clothes about what I want to see. So back in high
- 59:35school, I was making some extra bread by, um, painting on different clothing, selling it to my
- 59:40friends family, stuff like that. And I wasn't too bad. I wasn't half bad at it. That Jay Mitch
- 59:46podcast that we did, he had a lot of things to say about starting a brand. Yeah, y'all should go check
- 59:51that one out. I feel like we were going to have many other clothing brand owners out here. So
- 59:55anything like content, fashion, clothing brand modeling space, you might hear some good advice
- 1:00:02over here alongside some bullshit. But you know the game. It's all
- 1:00:09for the love of the game at the end of the day, but I think that may be enough questions. We might
- 1:00:13have to run another Q&A another time, but I can feel the heat radiating off Miles body because
- 1:00:19he's in that suit. You know, he's loosening up the necktie a little bit. I feel like we definitely
- 1:00:23got to get another guest in here, and we're gonna move forward into another episode. If you guys
- 1:00:28want to check in with us every Thursday, it's gonna be at Apple Podcast, Spotify and YouTube.
- 1:00:34Yeah, thank you for that one. Got you bro. Uh, any other guest you guys want to see? Always drop them
- 1:00:39in the comments if you want to see another Q&A. Let us know what questions y'all got. Fantastic.
- 1:00:44Myles I appreciate you being on the pod today. Of course. Appreciate having. You. Y'all have a
- 1:00:48phenomenal day. And guess what. Deuces.
