A once-ambitious plan to turn a historic building into a Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins combo has been scrapped after three years of costly setbacks. Reif Oil poured over $100K into engineering, but faced endless hurdles — from zoning rules to labor shortages caused by nearby data centers. Hope faded as economic conditions didn’t improve, and the final blow came when thieves stole copper from the site.
